Nice beach with a great view to the airport and landing and departing planes, and a the sundown is beautiful from here. During de day mainly when bigger planes are arriving it is crowded but later on it is getting better. Be careful here since from one side there is a road on other side the sea with really huge waves.

Definitely a spot to experience and see for yourself! The planes are so low coming in, it was so exciting! They have a schedule with bigger planes. We saw a good amount in just the 45 minutes we were there! There's food and bar on site. It was convenient taking a taxi as we didn't have to worry about parking. It's free to go on the beach. Could be hard with little kids but I had my 3 year old and she did just fine. Beach area is narrow and the waves were really big when I went. I recommend this beach tho indefinitely!

A place like no other. So cool, to see the planes coming in. The beach itself is very small and very crowded. But it's definitely a must see when here. The beach bar is great for cold drinks and good food!

Extremely beautiful beach here at Sint Maarten, pretty crowded, but clean. Got bars on each side of the beach, free wifi available. Astonishing view especially when a plane is on short final or about to depart. Driving here might be pretty challenging, not even close to having enough parking space around here, I have to park somewhere about 10 mins walk away from the beach. But definitely pay this beach a visit, otherwise you ain’t in Sint Maarten.

Went for our honeymoon. It’s jaw-dropping when the big planes land! Take off will also blow you around the beach. A must-see if you’re on the island. 2pm-5pm you’ll see most of the big planes but there’s small ones all day!

What a fantastic experience. We saw planes taking off and planes landing. Watch out where you pick your spot. We luckily grabbed a spot to the side of where the planes take off to avoid getting hit by sand. The beach was also super fun! It was like a wave pool! Huge waves that knock you off your feet! We had a blast! We were with teens ages 13, 14, 15, and 17. Stayed for about 2 hours.

Such an amazing experience watching the planes land and take off. Beach is great but very quickly drops in depth on the side where the planes arrive. If you walk over towards the resort hotels, there is an amazing public beach with incredible sand and waters. Breathtaking!!!

This beach is very impressive. Beautiful beach and can see the planes fly over your head and land at SXM. The crowds are small this time of year due to it being hurricane season very clam and quiet. One of the best beaches in St Maarten.

If you want to see a tourist attraction then go here. Beach is small especially when the Cruise Ships are in. Pay attention to the planes taking off as the propulsion can literally blow you over. For me it was pretty cool to watch the planes land. Stay safe my friends.

It’s nice to be there once to watch the airplanes but I wouldn’t spend there more than 1 hour it’s absolutely crowded

We went in October and the beach wasnt nearly as busy as I've seen photos and videos given it was "the off season". It was awesome seeing the planes land. Definitely need to try and at least see them land. We weren't dumb enough to stand behind the jets while taking off but it was enjoyable watching those who like to see their valuables get blown into the ocean from their power from a far. Worth a stop!

It was busy but definitely lived up to the hype. I could have spent days on the beach here. The beach itself it beautiful and the plans taking off and landing are simply a site to see.

Unique and awesome experience. This isn't necessarily a beach for lounging and tanning (although we did see a few people doing just that) This is the famous Airport Beach! Buy some drinks at the nearby beach bar and find yourself a place on the beach to spot those planes and take some iconic photos and photos! It is crowded but that is expected. Also, bring a good hat, sunglasses, cover up, and sunscreen because the beach itself has absolutely no shelter from the sun. We had so much fun here!

Apart from the more than two hours of waiting for luggage at the airport, there is nothing else to fault, but we came at a good time, the beach was not crowded, it was very clean and beautiful, watching the plane take off and land up close, listening to the loud sound, it was very new and interesting for us!

This was one of the coolest beaches I’ve ever seen. The water was very calm and warm, and you can’t beat the free show you get of all the airplanes flying overhead to land. We were surprised by how many planes came in back to back to back. The beach space is fairly small so it might be very crowded on a busier day, but luckily it wasn’t very busy when we went.

Definitely a nice beach. If you are an aviation enthusiast and enjoy planespotting, this is the best beach in the world for plane spotting and photographing and video recording planes coming in for landing. Lots of small planes all day long and most of the big planes come in in the afternoon between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m.

Cool concept of seeing the planes go over. There was a lot of traffic from the port so took about an hour to arrive. If you’re looking for a beautiful beach with swimmable waters this might not be it. Waves and current were very strong, even standing near the shore you had to be careful because the waves would push you down and then pull you in. There were some schools of fish which were nice to see. Beach was incredibly packed, the sandy area is very limited. Plenty of food and drink options so you can watch the planes go by. The type of beach where one hour was enough.

Food was typical American Style Beach food fare. Drinks weren't overloaded with alcohol, which suits my needs just fine. They don't rush you to leave. A great viewing area of planes landing. Go late morning by 11 am to grab the best seat, but plan on being there until 2 pm to see your 1st larger plane land. I recommend the drink BBC for the ladies. 👌🏼 My son got a mock tail which was good. Pizza was average, nachos, average, and wings, average. Price are amazing, considering the location. Lunch for 3, and we got 2 of the refillable cups for frozen drinks (just the one drink) and a mock tail for $75. Half of that was on drinks. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant.

This was the one restaurant I knew I wanted to go to when I booked my trip to St. Martin. It was truly better than I expected. We happen to get the best seat in the entire restaurant. Timing is everything. The food was delicious. The service was great. the views were breathtaking. We sat there and had conversations with so many people around us as we watch the planes come in. It was truly a great time. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant. You cannot go to St. Martin and not visit this restaurant with a beach right next to it parking free with validated parking pass. It was super easy to get to there was not a wait.

Okay, so this restaurant was great but for the experience this is 5+ stars. I didn’t even take that many pictures! But having the planes fly by and take off was quite fun to see, we ordered burgers and pizza, and of course buckets of beer. The staff were very friendly and hard working to keep hundreds of people happy.

Go to Sunset Bar for the incredible, stunning view of Maho Beach and planes landing at Princess Juliana Airport. The view over the teal blue water is beautiful and becomes uniquely captivating as planes approach to land at the airport. We enjoyed seeing a dozen planes both large and small over lunch. Food purchase is required for a table along the waterfront. We enjoyed the "Air France" pizza and salad. Much of the menu is appropriately airport themed which adds to the fun.

It’s a beach bar with fun views of the planes landing. The day we went a lot of cruise ships had docked so the beach and restaurant was mobbed. We did find a table overlooking the water and had a nice lunch of typical bar food. Our server was great.

Stopped here while waiting for the big airlines to come in. The bar has a list of when the big planes are landing for maho beach. They have buckets of beer with all sorts of different types of food. It was very busy while we were there but was able to get a stop overlooking the water, get there early if possible. Service was a tad bit slow but they were busy so it was on par with what's you'd expect. Glad we stopped by

Nice casual dinner after dark with pretty views of well-lit buildings and incoming aircraft. Service was quick and friendly, huge tasty salad reasonably priced. Awesome place to visit during the day with its outstanding views of aircraft flying over the ocean and beach to land at Princess Juliana International Airport.

If you get a table on the side, you have the prime spot for the plane landing watching. And to be honest, that's what you are there for. The service was pretty good and the staff was really hard working. The pizzas were surprisingly good. Otherwise, the decor and the menu is quite a basic American beach bar (think senor 🐸).

Amazing location on a beautiful bay right near the airport landing strip. Planes come so close to your head with final approach being right over the ocean. Service and food is fantastic at reasonable prices considering scenery and location. Would "highly recommend"!!

Awesome place to people and airplane watch!! We took a cab ride over from the cruise port. Ate a small lunch, had a few cold ones and just enjoyed the Island life. Definitely a fun spot. If you’re not doing an excursion get yourself over here!!!

There is nothing better than a sea side restaurant with a wide open view of the sea and the beach. Add in the fact of seeing huge jetliner airplanes ✈️ coming in to land so close, it feels like you can touch them, and you have a one of a kind spot. The food and service was OK, but this place was busy at the time of day we went. Lunch time between 11am-3pm is when the planes come in for landing, so they get really busy during those hours.

Food was beach bar food. Not the best and definitely not the worst. Check the airlines flight schedules (large planes arrive usually in the early afternoon). Arrive at beach by 11 am to get a table at the rail to have the best view. If on a cruise leave at least an hour before the time you need to board.

We always enjoy this Maho Beach bar while watching the planes. We enjoyed cold local beers and Pina Coladas, as well as one of their fresh made pizzas. Excellent service from Fred.

Enjoyed our nights here. $150 free play per room available if you are staying at the Sonesta. There is also a satellite slots only area in the main bar at the Sonesta.

Awesome staff, had me sign up for a card, jokingly told me I would win big. Well didn't win big but did win a little something off the free money they gave me to sign up. They do offer free adult beverages to help keep your mine at ease by the lack of bonuses and the minimum wins. Casino is super clean.

Small casino but very nice and clean. The dealers are also very nice and friendly. If you get a players card, you get $10 matched bets and also some credits for slots. I didn't give 5 stars because if it's size. They do have craps, blackjack, roulette and some other table games.

The staff is very friendly, and though many of the machines are a bit dated, the casino does not feel run down. The slots seem to hit with reasonable regularity. There are lots of food and entertainment options in the area, and the casino had a venue where they host music and shows many nights, as well as tournaments on the weekends. If you enjoy gambling or a casino atmosphere, Casino Royale will be your best option in Sint Maartin, especially if you are staying at the Sonesta right across the street.

Great place to have some fun. Staff was nice and the slots seemed to pay at a decent rate. Makes it worthwhile, entertaining and enjoyable when a machine doesn't eat $100 in 5 minutes. They have a nice variety of slots to choose from as well as a decent amount of table games. They don't allow cigar smoking but they do allow cigarette smoking. I don't smoke but I figured it'd be informational for some.

This was a very nice Casino one of my favorites on the island first day we went here service was amazing got served drinks almost instantly next couple times we went couldn't find anybody to get a drink from there were no servers nobody was working the floor was ready to spend money in the casino and ended up leaving going somewhere else because we actually enjoyed drinking while we Gamble its The Island that drinks and yet we couldn't get drinks served to us hope you all improve on that was multiple times that happened really love the casino really wanted to spend more time there but guess it was your loss

Family owned and operated for at least the last 22 years (as long as we’ve been coming to the island). Ravi and team are always extremely helpful, nice, and fun. They have a wonderful selection of chains, charms, rings, bracelets, and watches to peruse at great prices, as well as a drink if you’re so inclined. Well worth a stop-in while visiting Maho Bay, just down the road from the airport, Airport Beach (catch some flights landing overhead or taking off, but don’t get blown away!), and Simpson Bay. Great inventory and even better people.

Great food, excellent service, friendly staff. The bar is outside and offers beautiful views of the restaurant and surrounding area. Dining is either indoor or outdoor but if you go on a beautiful night the outdoor experience is best.

Loved my experience at Bamboo House. The atmosphere and the view are wonderful. The salmon in my Sexy Salmon Roll was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend the Korean Stone Pot Rice. It's a large portion and delectable 🤤 the leftover tasted even better the next day. The calamari was well seasoned and buttery

We love the new location, sweeping views - same delicious food - stone pot rice & dumplings were my fave choices. Sushi yummy as well. My husband ordered the whole red snapper and it was delicious. They accommodated menu for my daughter too which was nice. We visited twice during our stay we enjoyed that much! A bit windy so bring a shawl or cardigan if possible.

Beautiful sunsets, excellent cocktails, and outstanding food at Bamboo House tonight. At the bar can’t beat Happy Hour 2 for 1 cocktails. The sushi is outrageous. We shared the rib-eye cooked to our liking. The ambiance is absolutely incredible. Finally, a special shout-out to Val and Raul for the great service and taking good care of us.

Certainly one of the most classy and stylish places in SXM. The setting is a gorgeously renovated 19th century sugar mill with an amazing deck overlooking Simpson Bay, the Airport and the Caribbean Sea. With lighted statues and very nice lighting this is the perfect place for a romantic dinner night. The menu consists of a mix of flavors from around the world with South American, Asian, Thai, Indian, French and American influences. They carry amazing Sushi, Prime Aged steak, and great poke bowls. We loved thé sizzling corn and tuna Tataki appetizer. After we had the steak, braised short rib, Pad Thai and Sushi. Everything was super well prepared and very tasty. The cocktails served with the meal were all as good, we can certainly recommend the “just cool”, “cucumber cooler” and the “Smoked Margarita”. Then a little secret we share with those that love rum! Bamboo House has a hidden Rum Bar, so if you like a good Caribbean rum, make sure to ask the waiters about it and if possible (not rented for private events) they will bring you downstairs to try some of the worlds’ best rums.

Love this place! I had dinner here two nights in a row. The ambience and vibe is really nice. Great views of the island here too. Everything we tried was delicious!!!! From the drinks to the dessert, awesome menu choices. And the service was top tier, the first night Nic was our server and he was great, friendly and attentive. He went over the menu with us and gave recommendations. The next night Martin was our server he was also awesome and great hospitality. Everyone one at Bamboo house is really nice and helpful. Ohh and the entertainment is really good too, I like the live music, both nights were very entertaining. I highly recommend Bamboo House if you’re visiting St Maarten.

We made a reservation for 2, my husband and I requested to be seated closer to the view and was told it's for larger group of 4 and more. We were seated next to the pool area which was a downside for us because later persons with party of 2 were seat closer to the view. The Staff was great. The view is amazing , wish we had gone to see the sunset. The restaurant need to improve on their timeliness of taking orders. There was only one guy that was taking order and payment. Our appetizers came and almost finished with eat it and then the drinks came. If you going just make sure, you are prepared to wait.

The view at this restaurant is amazing. The Angry Dragon Roll, Tuna Amazing Roll, New Volcano Roll and Korean Corn appetizer was delicious. Also, the drinks were amazing. A must go for the scenery.

Ordered the sexy salmon sushi for appetizers and it was 10/10. We really enjoyed the sushi. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco for $48 it was worth it. I believe the steak we ordered was called hanger steak and it was very very well seasoned. The salmon came w a purée like underneath it and it went really well with the salmon. Would’ve preferred another vegetable other than the bok choy though.

Went to this place for dinner during my stay at St Marteen. This place got a decent vibe and atmosphere. I tried the fried calamari, seafood fried rice and tuna sushi. The food was served in order with decent temperature. The fired calamari was crispy and soft inside which was really good. However, the rice was little under done and sushi was average. The service was decent. The place might be crowded depending upon the time and need reservation in advance.

Great vibes and atmosphere. ​​If you're looking to celebrate a birthday, bachelorette party, or simply have a fancy date night, this is a good place to go. Another Chilean tourist on the island recommended this restaurant to us for dinner, so my husband and I decided to celebrate our anniversary there. He made the reservation online, specifying the occasion (because they asked on the website) but it turned out that no one really seemed to care haha. We arrived at the restaurant at night, and it was stunning. The atmosphere was delightful, with electronic music, artistic shows, modern lighting, and a beautiful view of the island. Drinks: The drinks looked amazing, but my husband ordered a BAMBOO HOUSE MANGO MOJITO and could feel the sugar grains. I think this is a big mistake for a sophisticated place like this. I ordered a KEY LIME PIE MARTINI, and it was too weak; I could barely taste the alcohol or the flavor of the drink. Food: The presentation of the dishes was beautiful, and the food was overall good. My husband ordered a SNAPPER Fish Dish (I can't remember the name >.<) that was pretty delicious; if you like spicy food, you should try it. I ordered THE BIRDS NEST (Signature Rolls Sushi), but I didn't like it too much. I think there were too many toppings that overshadowed the flavor. And something that I didn't like was the valet parking. It costs $10 for them to park your car, and it's because they don't have proper space to park (they are on a hill). I will give them 4 stars mainly because the atmosphere was pretty good. However, I feel that it's a bit expensive, so there's room for improvement, especially with the sushi and drinks, but we had a really good time.

Not sure why everyone likes this place so much. It must be because it's trendy to eat somewhere with a view. The view is really all they have going for them. They are over priced on everything, and I wouldn't call world/high class dining. I guess they can do this because they are in St. Marteen with a view. Be ready to walk a 1/4 mile up hill at 60 degree angle if you get there before shuttle starts, or pay 10 dollars to valet your car. The shuttle starts at 6pm from the carefor parking lot. Also, be ready to pay for your water after you hike uphill! 6 dollars to fill four 7 ounce glasses. Don't get a soda either, 3 dollars for the same glass that is mostly ice and doesn't have free refills. Ask for tap water. My son got the rib appetizer. While it was good, it came with only five small ribs for 16 dollars. My wife and I got some sushi, again they were good but nothing to write home about. We paid 22 and 24 dollars for each roll(that's between 7 and 8 dollars per piece). And could have paid 14 dollars per roll back in the States that taste better in my opinion. I got the whole char-grilled snapper. I wouldn't recommend it. It was dry and hard to eat as it's basically a whole fish on your plate, and you had to make sure you didn't eat a bone. Came with a rice blend for a side and a chilli sauce with a fancy name. Cost 30. Pay 13 dollars more and get a steak, or pay two dollars more and get the salmon. My wife got the salmon and said it was good(hard to mess up salmon though). We ordered cocktails that cost more than most of the appetizers. Again they were good but I wouldn't order them again. Our service wasn't the best either. Took forever to get our food and he only asked if he could refill our cocktails and no other drinks. I won't be going back. Go to Buccaneer Beach Bar. Easier to get to, drinks taste better and are half the price. Food is priced better and taste better in my opinion. Get a water view and live music. For 3 people. Bamboo=$196 BBB=$80

Food was great and the atmosphere was great. Everything was great until the end one of the waitresses Natasha got over on us and charged an extra $40 when we paid in cash and left the right amount plus tip. Other than that great time.

Went for my wedding dinner with a small group. Hostess was very rude. Not friendly at all. She was rude when we asked for a table close to a view. She said "everyone wants a view this is the table you get for your reservation ". Mind you we had someone with us who had a walker. To enter dining area you have a set of stairs to enter and go down. She put us at the very last table in dining room which required to go up more stairs. Server Nick was friendly and was going to do something for us to acknowledge our wedding. And never did! We asked a question that we didn't know the dumplings were deep fried server said you never asked. Food was ok. Views were spectacular. If I return it would be for the view and a drink only.

I recently dined at this restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. The wagyu dumpling is a must-try, and the tuna sashimi is equally delightful. The Saturday night ambiance exceeded expectations with fiery dancers, a singer blending well with DJ lounge-style music, and impeccable service. Perfect for families with teenagers. The only drawback is the challenging car access due to traffic around the driveway configuration. Consider implementing karts to transport guests from the lower to upper levels, a solution observed in similar establishments.

I visited for my sister's wedding and I did not put extra effort into finding out about resort or rooms, etc as it was a group booking. We ended up on the fifth floor, room 567. This was probably the least best part of the trip. We had a roof view facing the main strip and casino. You can hear the music depending on which place is having an event. I didn't spend a ton of time in the room but it can disrupt sleep, recommend paying extra for higher floor and/or ocean view. I believe this review is also reflective of the island as a whole and definitely more friendly than most. I was also surprised how the resort is not gated away and far from anything and you are able to be out and about without worrying about safety. The staff at the resort was great except for a handful, especially the bartender by the Italian restaurant. Everybody else seemed happy to be there to work. Food at the buffet can get repetitive, but the sit down restaurants definitely make up for it. The Palms grill and Italian were top for me. Even the dinner at the wedding reception was good, the highlight being the mushroom truffle soup. Last odd thing I noticed was the stairs are really for emergency use and leads you outside of the building and can't really use it to go up and down, if you wanted to, especially during peak elevator times. Definitely recommend Sonesta Maho for consideration and would return when and if I am able to.

Just came back from spending a wonderful week at Sonesta Maho Beach! Great location: There are shops, restaurants, and entertainment (bars and casino) right outside the hotel. You have direct access to Maho Beach, where the planes land, and is walking distance from Mullet Bay Beach, one of the best beaches on the island. Great service: Edwin, the restaurant manager, found out is was my husband's birthday and went out and about to make his day extra special. The couples massage at the gazebo was worth every penny. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Where should I start? I really can't describe my experience at this Gorgeous hotel. Only minutes away from the airport, shopping and other local attractions. We were greeted by Daniel and offered a cool- moist towel plus refreshing beverages during the check-in process. Our suite was spotless (thank you Marie) and spacious. What a daily treat to wake up with an ocean view. Our bartender Cheryl, by the large pool was so much fun. She takes excellent care of her guests and made us feel like celebrities. We dine at Azul, Palm Grill and had room service too. Our delicious food was freshly made and plenty of wonderful servers to take care of your needs. This is the perfect place for a honeymoon. We stayed at the adult only side of the resort. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU and we will definitely be back!!

The location of the resort is great, beautiful views. The main pool was closed 3/5 days of my stay. There was no entertainment on those days either. Had to get a new room as the water was flooding in the shower. It was a pain to get new wash clothes, they claimed they never had any. The food was on a weird schedule that if you didn’t make the cutoff, pizza was the only option. The pizza was probably the best food on the resort. The buffet wasn’t good, they basically had the same options everyday and there was a few items that were good. The drinks were good but were cheap alcohol, I really only got a buzz from the mimosas. The front office and bartenders were very friendly and helpful.

Food: Excellent Beach: clean/clear/excellent Drink s: great! Staff: great Kid friendly: great! They have a playroom for kids and babysitting service at a good price. We were also given a crib for our baby. Only one negative: room service was not regular. We had to call several times and in one week our room got cleaned twice. We did come as a group of 100 people so I'll give the hotel the benefit of the doubt that room service is not always this lackluster.

Amazing location with wonderful views. It’s a great place for family and kids. We did not use the kid zone but our daughter loved the water slides. The food was good not outstanding but good. We always had great and friendly service especially at breakfast. I do think they need to be more strict about people smoking in and around the pool. The nightlife is minimal at best but there is plenty to do around the resort. Walking distance to M. Bay and great place to watch the planes come in and leave.

The resort has beautiful rooms and very friendly staff. It’s also very clean and spacious. Foods are very good. I am giving 3 stars because I have a room facing the island. Starting at 9.30 pm every night, the music from across the hotel would start. It’s so very loud until you could feel the tremble on your closed balcony door. I was told the music would stop at 1 am. But last night at 1.15 am the music was still playing. I had to call the hotel front desk and they told me they would send someone to remind the pub. I have been asking for upgrade since day one and was willing to pay to move to another room facing the pool. But it has been 3 days I was told there’s no room available and I am stuck in current room. My advice is, if you usually sleep earlier than 1.30 am like me, do not ever book the room facing the island cause the chance of you requesting to move to another quiet room is very slim to none. I wished I had this information before I purchased this vacation.

Truly wonderful place on earth. From the start to the very end the resort but most importantly the staff have been very exceptional. Also happy and greet with a lovely smile on their faces. They all go way and beyond to make sure that you have a pleasurable and enjoyable stay. I’m already wanting to book my next trip back. Thanks to all the staff that I interacted with all a great asset to your hotel!!

We stayed 4 days this all adult resort. At best this is 2 stars ⭐️ resort. It’s old & dated. The service is bad. Specifically, the front desk. They don’t care about your needs. We book deluxe room with ocean view. We end up with standard room that the door won’t lock. Anybody could walk in and take our belongings including our luggages. The food and hotel was very good. A couple of things to help improve. Some of the staff were not very friendly. No one was going around asking if anyone wanted drinks. Clean hotel with a lot of different kinds of food everyday day. Nothing to do past 9:30 pm. The place needs some more entertainment in the evening. Other than that great hotel close to the airport and safe.

When to Maho for a vacation to relax. The hotel aesthetic is great but there are a lit of flaws that come with this hotel. Pros: check- in was pretty smooth. The front desk staff is very warm and welcoming. Room in clean and its cleaned everyday. Amenities such as the gym is great. The food here is pretty good and they have lots of options at night. Cons: The pool lining is not proper the pool floor has a lot of lumps due to the hotel not updating the lining. The pool is also very dirty. The bartenders are nice but not too friendly. I asked on for a Rhum punch they took a cup that was sitting at the bar that someone was drinking out of dumped the ice out and put my drink in the dirty cup for me to drink (bring your own cup). No straws are given at this hotel. In the restaurants that staff is very disorganized. Could be siting down for ten minutes plus and not served water or a drink. Once they fill your drink once don't expect a refill they wont be back. If someone doesn't feel like serving they will tell someone else to do it. Entertainment team needs a lot of work very disorganized as well. They try to make it fun but lots of stop during the game cause they don't have something (need a better entertainment team). Location of two of the restaurants are outside the hotel. You stop every time by the same man asking to buy weed. The hotel has the potential to be a lot better than it is. Just needs to a push in the right direction. They said this is the friendliest island if you come to this hotel you would never believe it.

Great location close to everything. Casino across the street, bars and restaurants as well all within walking distance. Grocery store next to casino. Beautiful beach and water is great. White soft sand next to airport to watch the planes land all day which is great entertainment and many tourist watch the landings and take offs. Watch out for the blast zone. Food is good many choices each day. Each night is a theme night so the menu rotates a lot. Drinks are good and the staff work hard to ensure you get great service. The staff are great and friendly will help you if you need help with suggestions of places to visit as well. My suggestion is to get a rental car for a few days and drive around the island so many beaches and great restaurants all around to sample and enjoy the island. Recovery from Irma is almost finished with about 95% of the island is rebuilt. This is the best choice for anyone from couples, friends trips or family vacations, resort is small but is big in the amount of space doesn’t feel crowded at all. Plenty of space to relax and enjoy the relaxing sounds of the waves and beautiful weather.

Absolutely beautiful resort, but do not come here expecting the vibe and level of service of most all-inclusive resorts. Staff were not very friendly or helpful at restaurants, bars, etc on the resort property. We felt pretty disrespected during our stay multiple times. Wondering if maybe the resort has changed management or something that cause the service level to go down. Would not expect from the outward appearance. Also, my friends boyfriend sent (AND PAID FOR) multiple bottles of champagne / wine to the room as a surprise for our girls trip. When we got back in our room, these bottles were left with only a note saying it was a free gift from management. Felt very shady. Food was all great, but not many restaurants are open at one time. They only have specific nights, so while you will always be able to get something, it may not be the one you were looking for. The beach was great and clean, and easy to get chairs at. However, it is rather small during high tide. The pool was beautiful and clean, but the chairs were all taken by 9am, so if you want one you need to get there early! Also felt very safe in the area

A very beautiful place to spend your vacation -quiet, clean and cozy! The rooms are cleaned every day! The food in the restaurant is varied! The area is very beautiful, everything has been thought out. The beach is excellent, planes fly every 10 minutes - this is what you need to come here for! exotic!!! I will return to this place again!

I stayed at the property with my friends at the beginning of the month. The property was beautiful, the food was amazing, and the staff was friendly with the exception of one bartender. The staff greeted us with drinks at check-in and assisted us with getting taxi services. Some revision is needed with guest services. We called the front desk for an extra blanket, we were told someone would bring it up, but we never received it. The property is worth the price. The location of the property is perfect. I'm happy that I did not let the negative reviews discourage me from staying at the hotel. The hotel is a gem!

Very nice hotel, very well located. Less than 5 minutes by car from the airport and on the beach of Maho. The service is pleasant, several restaurants on site for all tastes and at any time of the day. spacious and clean room. Casino on site. We organize daily activities to satisfy the client. A convention space also available to organize any type of event, such as conference, gala, wedding, etc. An impeccable view of the beach that allows you to experience the landing of planes. A rather impressive image. The buffet is plentiful. The pool large enough and always lively. A superb beach. Also, if you prefer to go out, in the immediate area, there are plenty of other good restaurants, a large Casino right in front of the hotel. I think it's one of the nicest and biggest hotel in Sint Maarten. If, however, you have the chance to spend a few days in Sint Maarten, I highly recommend this hotel and you will not regret it. Without forgetting that the staff does everything to make life easy, from your arrival until your departure. Oh, I was going to forget to tell you that your room key is on a bracelet so you can't forget your key in the room because it's always with you. For people like me who like to forget their card in the room you will love this option

My family and I stayed here recently for 6 nights. Rooms are large enough though there isn’t much room to unpack. From the Ocean View room we could see the planes coming in and that view does not get old. The views are spectacular from everywhere. Breakfast is a standard buffet, adequate options every day. There is always fresh fruit available. All of the restaurants were good. The pizza place was perfect for a snack on the go. All of the staff we encountered were helpful and polite. The couples gazebo massage is a must!

The hotel itself was very nice , clean and friendly staff. location is near various restaurants and shops. The only complaint I have was the doors in the room were very hard to open and close the washroom door was a sliding door and you definitely need to use some muscle as well as the patio door . Not sure if it was just our room or all the others are like that as well. Also, the door to the room you need to pull to close otherwise it won’t lock properly. other than that , lovely place to stay at and beautiful beaches and pool

Breakfast was cold and not very tasty. Tried lunch and dinner at 3 locations on resort chicken, pork chops, etc. Was overcooked. The food was not good. Italian restaurant only place we had a good sit down meal, the burgers and hot dogs grilled at pool were good and he was nice. They ran out of mint, margarita mix, and rum. We got stuck at this resort due to a canceled flight. Pool is small. Kids and adults all in same pool. The lining in pool is dangerous, it is coming up and needs to be fixed. Beach area small. Food on the street by the resort taste better. The staff doing Entertainment by pool and exercise/dance classes are good. Majority of staff not nice. It is located right by airport.

I highly recommend this resort for many reasons. The place is kept very clean and its very kids friendly. If you are looking to go somewhere where kids will also enjoy, this is the resort. The daycare is clean and has a-lot of stuff for the kids to do and there is a separate kiddie pool for kids to play as well. For adults, it has great amenities and events happening every day. There are two negative things to note. First is that there is no room service to order food at any time. You would have to go to the buffet and other foot places around the resort. Second is that the room cleaning is very slow. Sometimes our rooms are not cleaned until 2pm. Besides those things its a great place overall.

If you are expecting to have your bed made and clean towels ready for you after a long day at the beach or pool you will be disappointed. Three out of my seven days at the resort my bed and clean towels would not be ready until after 5 pm. Of the five restaurants the steakhouse is the best, but how much of the same menu can a family take. By the way do not try the Italian restaurant, it is horrible. Do not get me started about the buffet as it is not much better. The Oriental Restaurant is good, but expect long wait times to get a table as seating is very limited. The saving grace to our experience was the great and friendly service from everyone. Its like they know the experience is not worth the dollars we spent on the rooms. By the way watch out for the taxi they will rip you off any chance they get. One taxi charged $7 person, for a five minute trip, the next day it was $8. Never ask them for change they will forget English real fast and they will forget how to do math even faster. 4

We were pleasantly surprised at the standard of service and food at this hotel. We don't normally book all inclusive, I have a particular dislike to buffets. Sonesta had 3 great restaurants, along with a pizza bar, a pub, an all day Cafe and the buffet. On a 3 night stay, we ate at all 3 restaurants, and the food was fantastic. Service in the grill and the Asain restaurant was 5 star in La Fontana, the Italian, it was slow and "sloppy". At reception, your bags are taken and exchanged for a wet towel and a glass of bubbly. You are welcome to use all facilities until the rooms are ready at 4 pm. Service generally at the bars, etc, is very good. Virtually all the staff are pleasant and speak with you. Rooms are large, and housekeeping is daily. The rooms have their own mini bar (included) with sodas, water, and beers, and 4 large bottles of spirits. First weekend in December, so the hotel was full, but did not feel crowded. The pool area was also large with a separate area for kiddies. Overall, 5 stars, we would visit again.

This resort is in the perfect location to get the full Sint Maarten experience. The food is pretty good. Ate lunch and dinner at the Palm Grill and also the buffet for lunch. There was also a snack hut that served hamburgers and hotdogs after 11am. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed hanging out by the beach area and there was an amazing staff member by the name of Jozeff that just made the stay even better. GREAT customer service skills for any and everyone that was in the area he was working in. From the time he started to the time he was finished, he always made sure everyone was good. I didn’t really hang out by the pool so the presence of the entertainment staff was unknown to me. But the beach area wasn’t that far away & could really hear any music or games going on. The towel situation was odd. At times there wasn’t any clean towels. I had a double bed, island room view & it wasn’t bad at all because our room has a view of a body of water as well. Only thing is that the shower is halfway covered so the water definitely soaks the floor.

Terrible resort - rooms in terms of design aren’t bad, but they are not clean. Floors are disgusting and the restrooms reek of urine. Staff never know I am a critic visiting each resort for a living, and that’s how I get some the best insight. The staff here are truly terrible, that attitude and disrespect was on a level I’ve never personally experienced before. Out of the hundred staff on sight, I’ve seen 2 who actually act like they like their job. The rest? Dragging themselves across the resort just trying to get through the day, dirty looks, no energy, no sense of hospitality and hosting. What a shame. Only good thing? The location. The strips easy access from the resort means you can spend more time away from the horrific culture the staff push on you at the resort. Don’t book because the cost is decent, get yourself a proper vacation you can enjoy.

Visited herebfor our first time in March and from the moment you arrive on property your breath is taken away. This place had me in awe. I have never in my travels had the pleasure of being around a team so inviting, so welcoming, so nice, always smiling! The rooms are beautiful, the views are amazing and the service is second to none! The food in restaurants was phenomenal, the team working here also top notch. I would give this resort and it's team members 20 stars if I could!

Nice hotel. There was a good selection of dining options. We loved the view from La Fontana. The room was decent but it smelled like piss. There’s a club nearby that made it difficult to sleep on the weekend during our stay. Beach is easily accessible and the hotel provides you with umbrella and chaise. We tried the massage, the best of the staff. Karaoke was a lot of fun. I told the hotel in advance that we don’t drink and they still had a bottle of champagne in our room when we arrived. We would’ve enjoyed cider or a different option. It was alright for the price but just wasn’t for us.

The island is beautiful and this is nothing against the people at the resort at all however- we stayed in room 781 and did not get one solid night of sleep there is a nightclub that blasts music with very heavy bass until 3 am every single night. If you want to get any sleep at all do not stay on this side of the resort! You won’t get any sleep at all.

I just got back from vacation at this resort with my parents and can’t say enough good things. From check in to check out, my group had a great experience. Being greeted with champagne and a cold towel was nice, but the bonus was the complimentary champagne bottle for our birthday guest. The beach was great, clean and perfect to see the planes. Ton of iguanas on the rocks, such a fun sight to see. Shoutout to the food, pool, and bar staff, especially Lorna from the buffet staff for being so welcoming and accommodating to our needs. Food had a lot of variety, but it would be nice to have more to go options for meals. The strip is at a nice location right outside the hotel which various establishments. The only downside is that they don’t have a club in the resort which I thought was a bummer. They also need more umbrellas on the beach for the chairs as they are taken quickly and all day by the same people. This hotel seems to draw the attention of the older retired population so not a big party scene or night life for ages 18-30. Great hotel for older ages or quiet time with family and kids!

Great hotel location, Amenities are right for expending a week for vacation. Staff is normally not very friendly, locals are quiet and don't greet or talk much, normally a kindly greet comes from foreigners working in the hotel. Rooms could be cleaner and more taken care of. But in overall the rooms are good for a few weeks stay. Relation Price/quality is unbalanced. Prices are high for a higher expected quality in rooms and service.

Fast lunch before flights out. Nice beachfront atmosphere. Good value. Salad was fine. Burger looked good but came without the requested mushrooms

Food was great. Location great. Only downside was one of the male servers was so chatty and opinionated that it bordered on rude. He wouldn't leave us in peace. Our group came to the beach to relax, not have a debate on social issues......hoping next time we're not in his section

Went for dinner on a Saturday. Service was good. Place had no atmosphere at the time we went. We had curry chicken and it was not so great.

Wonderful place, good breakfast and lovely service! Combined with the views, it's a recipe for pleasure :)

Our first night after a long flight, we walked here and were seated in the restaurant. I had the veggie pasta and my husband had caribbean lobster. Both meals were good and our server that night was absolutely lovely. Another night, we walked over for a quick, casual bite in the bar area as they had a private event in the dining room. We had a different server. She was young, only there for 2 days, and was still learning the menu items, etc but was very friendly. Until the end. We paid with a credit card and she said "what about adding a tip". I pointed out that a tip is already on the bill. In fact on $61, $9 was added and it is identified as "gratuity". Her smile was gone as she said "that is a service charge". I had to involve our server from the previous visit who was also at the counter and she told the young lady it is a tip. Now I did give the other server a small additional cash tip. I did this for the young lady as well. Because I am giving her the benefit of the doubt. But we are reluctant to return if we are to have to deal with this type of thing again. I suggest management clarify for their new hires what gratuity means.

Awful. Just run. Ordered bruschetta appetizer and got bread with pizza sauce spread on it. Showed them a pic of what it's supposed to look like. Gave us $4 off a $12 charge for 3 slices of bread with sauce. Dogs and cats sitting at you table begging for food. 18% built in gratuity. Grilled chicken dinner like leather. So expensive. Just run away. Go to The Palms for dinner. You will love it...

I had Christmas dinner here with my family and it was amazing! We also enjoy going to The Boon during the weekends. They have a dj or live music every Sunday and it’s always lots of fun. Highly recommend when in St Maarten.

Staff is very friendly, food was good we really liked it (curry). If you are dining there you can use beach chairs for free.

Always happy with the veggie burger, it is not on the menu but the chef always prepares it when you ask. Just love it and had to show my son from Switzerland this great place.
