A striking building, but unfortunately the expos were underdeveloped with too little historical background and context. The building is huge and wonderfully beautiful as its own history piece. I was disappointed in the staff. They were uninterested in helping patrons or making them feel at home in this public cultural space. Due to poor signage, lack of staffing, and the curmudgeon and unhelpful attitude of the present staff, we were more often lost than found. Only after we returned home did we discover we missed (never found) one half of the museum. I'm embarrassed to admit... We somehow missed half of the museum? It's disheartening a public space's value was reduced by resident employees. I expected more pride in one's city, state, and country. For $4 US it was worth seeing one half of the museum.

Came here for my last day in Guadalajara and thoroughly enjoyed it,it was on my bucket list to go see one of the greats of Mexican muralist artwork and boy was I happy to stand in its glory. Absolutely beautiful murals by Jose Clemente Orozco 🎨🎭🖌️🔥 and it's a must!!

This museum is HUGE - a warren of connected buildings and colonnades. You can easily spend all day. The Orozco murals are wonderful, and there is so much more

We traveled with 5 people. We paid at the taquilla per adult and one kid. My purse and backpack were not allowed, too big for their standard. They do have free tags for storage with museum staff,or private lockers for some pesos. We stored our stuff safely with staff and it was an easy pickup. We visited around noon on a Thursday and it was not busy. We took a stroller and the walkways were pretty accessible. We took plenty of pictures and enjoyed our time there. I really liked the QRC code for a history in English and Spanish. So bring your headphones/ airpods. There is a cafe that sells snacks and water because our backpack lunch wasn't allowed. The bathrooms were clean and accessible. I didn't see any baby changing tables, so that was a bummer. We would return again.

I stopped by after learning this was a former orphanage. A tour guide mentioned that kids who didn’t know their parents were given the last name of the orphanage founder. The compound now consists of mostly newer art. Probably would have been more enjoyable with a tour guide, but it’s possible to stroll around on your own and leverage the QR codes. Free admission Tuesdays.

Worth a visit in Guadalajara! Architecturally stunning building with renowned murals in the interior make for an awe inspiring experience. There is written narrative on the murals in both English and Spanish, and more throughout the building by QR code. Only 4 stars because I thought, a a while, building’s space could be more thoughtfully used with additional exhibitions.

Went and saw two large art exhibits and the central cathedral. Everything was very well laid out and was wheelchair accessible with very minimal challenges (it is a pretty linear path). I'd suggest spending some time in the cathedral to absorb the murals. lay on one of the benches and just look up.

Really took me by surprise! First museum I visited in GDL. Entry fee was 85 MXN (55 if you have national ID) the oil paintings were all very unique and unlike anything I've ever seen before. A must visit if you are in town, only a 10 minute walk from the city center

Good Architecture, History and very immersive murals. Recommend visiting the place and it had a guides. Would recommend having guides to know the insides of those murals and paintings. The art museums inside are really good.

Stunning building and beautiful architecture. I went on a Sunday afternoon and there were not many people. They have a lot of different exhibitions going on there. I really like one with the self portrait. It was stunning and unbelievable. The museum is well maintained and managed. Water bottle and eateries are not allowed.

Really nice museum with amazing murals. I would only suggest adding some context to certain art pieces since I felt that some art was amazing, but there were no clear and visible info on it. Aside from that, its a great place.

Church is beautiful inside out. So much history and streets are clean and well kept. The architecture alone is impeccable, but what's truly stood out was the glass windows and paintings throughout.

Beautiful old Building. It is wonderful to see the history of the area. It still is amazing how people built those things without modern equipment. It was nice to have a local explain all of the buildings history to me. I have been there probably 10 times already. I'm sure I will be back. It is also close to San Juan De Dios for some great shopping!

Beautiful building inside and out. The story of the Child Saint was very heart breaking. I thought the body there was just fake but no, it's real! The history of the cathedral its self is pretty wild. How it fell apart from like 3 earthquakes.

Very famous attraction and for good reason. This cathedral is gorgeous - both on the inside and outside. It's in the heart of the centre, with plenty to do around. I would recommend going inside to feel the history in the air!

La Catedral de Guadalajara is really nice. We went on a special event where they had lights and shows surrounding the area. The music and social event made the place super special. It is truly amazing piece of architecture.

I grab a frappe and sit in the park every day, to take a break from working at home. I wonder how they ever did such precise and beautiful architecture hundreds of years ago, just using eyes and hands.

In my opinion, one of the most beautiful Cathedrals in the world. Especially the exterior. I took a free walking tour of Guadalajara by Alex and this was included. I highly recommend it for the context. If you’re in Guadalajara and anywhere near, do not miss spending some time just strolling around and soaking in this feast for the eyes from all its angles and plazas on each side :)

A beautiful cathedral surrounded by walking areas (plazas). There is a big fountain in front of it. Inside the light creates beautiful effects. Take the time to walk all around and inside. Built between 1571-1618. There is a constant flow of people and corridors are wide with lots of sitting spaces.

Such an amazing structure! Beautiful in design and placed in the center of the city square. A wonderful area to stroll and take in the city.

I recommend the Diamond package. There’s a lot of walking. Safari ride is rough road *No seat belt* The train is a one time use with the bracelet. The skyline has great views. It’s difficult getting on and off. The aquarium is small. Best part is feeding the manatees. The penguin building smelled horrible. However it was cute seeing the penguins. As for food You can bring your own food. I had popcorn <~Terrible, burnt Cheeseburger <~ I didn’t like the taste Nachos <~ great Quesadilla <~ okay The facilities are outdated but it’s not a big deal. Overall it’s a great place to visit.

Very nice zoo! I definitely reccomend bringing comfortable shoes and tons of water since it is very warm. The diamond pass is the best if you would like to experience the park as a whole.

A once in a lifetime experience. We loved everything about it. The prices are shown in the picture. We bought the “diamante” because it has the sky zoo + aquarium. Once entering you are greeted by the flamingos. On your right there is a food stand. And walk more on your left is the entrance to the train. The train takes you around the whole park. A little ahead is the entrance for the sky zoo. That did not have a line, unlike the train did. I went on the sky zoo first then ate some food and then went on the train. After that we walked around the zoo and towards the end we went on the safari truck that takes you around specific animals that are closed off. My favorite is the sky zoo because it’s unique and you see everything. The train is alright and is quick. I went on a Friday afternoon, to see the whole thing lasted us 5 hours. The gift shops were not so good and pricey. You could go inside the zoo with a bottled water and snacks. The food inside is also expensive but decent. I bought the tickets on the spot in the booth. The wait wasn’t much. Buy the wristbands and place it on and go in.

Well maintained ZOO, there are 3 packages 100, 260, 330 peso. 100 peso for Normal walk through visiting animals. For marine, safari, sky zoo have to buy 260 or 330 peso package. I could suggest get 330 peso package and go morning time 10 am so you can complete all these areas. Foods are available inside zoo. Penguin, Marine, Sky zoo, White Lion, kangaroo are highlights in this zoo. Close to ZOO children's park also there... kindly plan accordingly full day visit for kids with family..

Nice place to spend time with friends and family. The zoo is so big that I will suggest you to wear comfortable shoes sneakers preferably. They have a lot of activities to do in the zoo. The price of the ticket is reasonable not at all expensive. It includes cable train tour, train ride and many more stuff with in the zoo. You’ll find small cafe to grab something real quick to eat.

It was very warm but super enjoyable. Employees were super helpful and friendly. I recommend buying the diamond pass, you get to enjoy everything once, the train, safari, aquarium and the sky zoo (recommend doing this towards closing time) it was quiet and you can enjoy listening to the birds.

Great way to spend the day with a family. Get the premier pass which has the Safari and the aquarium. Don't miss the views at the end of the park. The eating area is next to a cliff and it's very beautiful.

Came to Guadalajara with my granddaughter who wanted to visit the Zoologico Guadalajara, and we were pleasantly surprised to see how much there was to see. So much greenery...everything was lush, overgrown, trees that have been here for decades. The exhibits were very well designed, for example the monkey areas: cables which supported the netting, as well as the enclosure which allows the animals to go from area to area, a great job. Our favorite was the ride thru the Masai. Wow. You see the many different animals in their natural environments, living in harmony with other animals. You're able to witness the water buffalo, the ostriches, antelopes, alligators of the Nile river. Along with the Elephants, the Rhinos, the Hippos and so much more. There is so much to see and experience within these walls. Come and spend some time, you will be coming back again. 😎👍👍

Good place for kids, the animals look well taken care of, and they have several activities and attractions for the whole family

This is a big zoo I had read reviews this was small. There’s a lot of walking a lot of animals recommend taking the sky zoo there they take you on these trams you can see some animals from above very cool. Whatever you do don’t get food here or the horchata it was not good.

This zoo is so beautiful and offers so many attractions for the whole family. Super clean and most of the animals were out to see. Well definitely be back.

At the Guadalajara zoo there are different price points and we opted for the premier which is a short train ride,nice enough and quick. My mom has a disability scooter and I asked the attendant if he's sure they will take care of it because she needs it for long distances and was assured it won't leave the platform if we didn't hand in the number given to us. When the train completed the trip we took it and no one batted an eye or even asked if it was ours so clearly if anyone leaves something with them just know there's a possibility it can be taken. She drove off with it and nobody stopped us, I went around and gave the attendant both numbers and he didn't even ask a question. Do not leave your stuff there because again there is no assurance it will be taken care of. The zoo is ok, it's off the bucket list for a family member that has kids. I was not interested especially with my mom, I really think it needs better operations when it comes to getting off the train and more disability pathways.

We had a very short visit so we bought the basic package. We bought the train a sky tram tickets separately. Not sure if it would make sense to buy the diamond package but that price jump is crazy. Either way the zoo is HUGE. Definitely need a whole day to walk through it all. We got to feed the baby deers. So cute! There were plenty of bathrooms and trash cans around. Very clean. Definitely would come back.

What a fun zoo! I was shocked how good it was coming from places like the National Zoo in DC, the San Diego zoo, and point defiance in the PNW. It's not nearly as big as those but it's really well laid out and the sky lift that goes from one end to the other gives you amazing views across the entire zoo.

Great time at the Zoo in Guadalajara. It was about $120 pesos for adults for admission. You can buy additional "attractions" once you're inside vs. buying the pass that includes everything before you enter. Fun for kids and family!

We visit zoos all over the US. and I must say this zoo in Guadalajara is one of the ones that I enjoyed the most. A lot of wide open space for the animals, and they had plenty of opportunities to interact with the animals. Would like to return, highly recommended. Went went on a Wednesday in February, and it wasn't crowded at all.

Very nice theatre, the home of the Jalisco Symphonic Orchestra, it reminded me a bit of the theatre a la Scala in Milan. Entry is free if there are no events between the opening times for visitors (13:00 to 15:00), the orchestra and other performances happen frequently so it is worth checking the programme.

An ICON place in the beautiful heart of Guadalajara. This was on my bucket list, now finaly checked ✔️ off. Loved the tribute philafornica de Jalisco played. ❤️ it and venue was excellent. Proud to be Mexicana.

Top-end theater venue, great acoustics. Went to the 2023 Mariachi gala and was not disappointed. Teatro Degollado is a superb concert hall, with a seating capacity of around 1,600. Pro-Tip: Bar prices are predictably on the high side and the bar itself is not really large enough to cater for a full house, during the short intermissions. Pocket/purse searches happen at the door, so if you're trying to bring something in, you need to be creative.

Beautiful theater built in the 19th century. Dedicated to classical concerts and theater presentations. The seats in the upper levels are uncomfortable; otherwise, very good experience.

What a wonderful evening. Top tiered venue, excellent musicians, and the operatic singers accompanying them on some of the music was superb. I was not expecting such an enjoyable experience. Highly recommend this to anyone!

A beautiful piece of architecture and art in GDL, a true jewel. This is a neoclassical theater located in the plaza center, stunning! This is most definitely a must visit while visiting or living in GDL! A 19th century architectural masterpiece, opened in 1866. 👍👍

Looks like roman historical place, use to perform drama and Mariachi music and concerts. You can find Mariachi music performances at the entrance area. There's a common area in front of this, which includes Guadalajara sign, statues, fountain and great view of cathedral. Looks more beautiful in the night.

Such a beautiful church. Do yourself a favor and assure you come here. If you can talk your way into the catacombs downstairs too, it will make an experience you won't soon forget. If you can't, I've added lots of photos. There is a small show outside when the hours turn. Make time to peruse the surrounding areas. It is good manners to assure you leave a donation before you depart.

You can’t really beat this Neo-Gothic marvel anywhere in the Americas that I’ve seen. Impeccably built about 100 years ago to match the great gothic cathedrals of Europe. For a second, you could be in medieval England or France. Free time enter, take off your hat and respect worshippers.

I love The Expiatorio it's rich with history about it's struggle to be built, several times it changed architectures for reasons of destiny. The clock is German made; curiously on the hour the clock chimes 25 songs and at the same time little door's open and figurines of the Apostles comes out and makes a half circle and then go back in the other door. Built in the Gothic style the columns inside are so beautiful and there are many of them. The stained glass windows and towers are awesome, and the craftsmanship is fantastic. I highly recommend that you explore this church. There's under ground parking.

Beautiful church…looks like it was built in the middle-ages, but in fact, started in the early part of last century. The clock tower with the parade of the apostles stiles on the hour.

Beautiful forest. It was nice listening to the birds chirping and the squirrels being so playful. I'm glad we got to see the Japanese garden. It was small and well maintained. Seeing the coy fish swimming around and the ducks relaxing on the grass was so serene.

Free to enter - pay a fee if you park your vehicle here. The park is so lovely and peaceful. We got there early on a Sunday morning and the vibes were great. Everyone seems to be in a relaxed and kind mood. The animals here are accustomed to people, the squirrels are used to being fed because they run right up to people. It is a nice break from the noisy and chaotic city. I would recommend checking this park out.

This place is beautiful. The Japanese garden isn't very big but still gorgeous! There are tons of beautiful fish and turtles in the pond. It's peaceful and wonderful to walk through.

Que bonito! What an amazing park in the middle of such a large city. The Japanese tea gardens are worth finding and just a few meters away is the Eucalyptus area (near the disc golf)--- go hug a beautiful tree! But watch out for those friendly squirrels, they may sneak up on you. Warning... the park has signs... but they are not everywhere and definable not well placed... we got turned around and couldn't find any signs. We had to use Google maps to find our entrance again. Thank God for that...we were heading in the wrong direction and it was getting late.

The park is very enjoyable and relaxing. The park is very well kept, and that includes the restrooms. We did a 30 minute trail on horseback thru a portion of the park, and about 100 yards of it was on a small river. After the ride, we only had time to visit the Japones Garden, which is about 20 minutes from the front gate.

One of the best parks I have ever been too. The layout and design of the complex routes that you can take is amazing for running an/or meditating and just enjoying your time there. The park has so many places to explore and find and you can find people dancing, practicing kickboxing, doing yoga, meditating etc... great place overall.

Beautiful lush forest in the middle of the city. It makes a nice peaceful walk. There are lots of friendly squirrels and colorful birds that fly close to you. One of the main attractions is the Japanese botanical garden. Highly recommend visiting.

I went for the Coldplay concert and it was incredible. The security organization was bad, each security member had different information. And as usual with every event here, getting put was a nightmare, it took us like 2 hours.

This a great stadium to go visit and watch a sporting event. The area it's in is in the middle of nowhere but that's a good thing because the roads are plenty big and traffic flows nicely unlike the small, terrible city roads. Plenty, plenty of parking, that's FREE which is the best part about it. Plenty of security, police presence and very organized upon crowd control and moving people into the stadium. Inside the stadium is nice, they have actual food inside that you can eat on, a great selection of food, drinks of course and plenty of snacks once inside the stadium and in your seat. I love the fact that there's TONS of bathrooms around the stadium, definitely no shortage of those. Aesthetically it's a cool looking stadium, looks like a UFO from afar and the design is awesome. Overall, awesome stadium for any event being held there and definitely worth checking out.

Went there for concert and had floor seats! Everyone was so polite and they bring drinks and food to the floor. Parking is a bear! Make sure to give yourself plenty of time! We had a wonderful time. It's a great arena!

I attended an event during the morning and afternoon. Bathrooms are readily available in every exit. There's also television monitors in the restroom so you won't miss a thing. They have food places inside including tacos and coffee (Flor de Cordova). I did not like the sewer smell of the restrooms, but this might be a country problem rather than a stadiun problem. The Stadium management does have to work on providing more car exits as it took 40 minutes to drive 4 kilometers. I cannot imagine what it's like to be stuck in traffic during a major event. There's 2 huge monitors on the North and South side of the Stadium in case you want a close up view of the event. I sat close to the last row and still had good visibility of the event.

We had a blast. Definitely get there early because of traffic and road closure to get to stadium. Vibe was great. Lights during evening was lovely... and chivas!

The stadium is awesome, all good with this building, nice restrooms, very good control access, the seats are numbered, nice in all ways. The only not that good is the parking, but it's the same on all massive events centers

I visited stadium as part of a tour. We went through the different rooms and learned about the Chivas. The stadium itself was well designed and seemed very cool

Crazy stadium with amazing shows , I happend to get to watch Coldplay over there and it was nuts . The only thing to take in mind is that public transport is bad and most people come with their cars so there are heavy traffic

A ginormous variety of very good foods, from freshly steamed vegetables or crêpes to turkey legs, candy, or fraps perfectly compliments this amazing new clean stadium. Parking is also very good, no complaints

Went to see The Weeknd and the experience was great, good organization. Only issue is maybe getting an uber late at night to which you would need to do a 30 min walk at least.

Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and cortius. The tour was amazing. I wish you could spend more time in the museum.

State of the art technology and architecture. The place helps to make more enjoyable the experience. Screens at the rest rooms and the food courts so you don’t miss a detail while away from your seat. An esplanade around the seats will allow you to move around the building comfortably. It has also a museum with the history from the hosting soccer team, Chivas.

Every full hour you get a free tour through the palacio for about 30-40 minutes to listen to the history of Jalisco and you can marvel at the incredible mural of Orozco

Never did get to see this. I went Monday as Google it was open, but like everything else in Guadalajara it is in fact closed Monday. I came back Tuesday morning as they told me, but then they told me to come back at 2. Which was when I was leaving the city. I put on my booking form, and confirmed at check in, that I booked an English speaking tour as my Spanish is not up to a guided tour. I was the only English speaker in my train carriage. Everything was in Spanish and I didn't understand a thing the whole day. The "masterclass" was pointless and I didn't learn anything. 2. The service once in the carriage was awful. In the two hours, we (I was sitting at a table of 4) had one drink, the second literally only as we were leaving the train and only because I got angry. We consistently asked for drinks and were ignored or forgotten. One of the waiters was flashing a wad of cash at the end, so I assume those tables who got service did so because they tipped early on. $300+ for one drink and 3 X 1/2 shots. 3. I have a few pretty serious food allergies that I put in my booking plus sent a separate email. Once on board they knew nothing of my allergies and there weren't alternative options offered. 4. I checked with the tour guide the meeting point to return and was told a time and place, I was there, alone. Everyone else had left one hour earlier and were quite some distance from town. Luckily I had a really helpful guy get me a ride to the next destination. 5. When the bus returned to town it returned a VERY far distance from town. Rather than the 25min walk from my hostel, I had a 3hr walk. This was never advised beforehand. The bad service, minimal drinks, and extra costs incurred with travel means I would not recommend booking it. There are ample cheap (700-1000 peso) trips available to book, I'd avoid this one.

The only good part of this tour was the train. We took the Sunset Tour and it was a lot of waiting to get to the good part. I went to the international book fair at Expo Guadalajara. This event blew my mind. The different venues that was available is outstanding. There were books for all ages. I saw no shortage of diversity on options; from classic novels to modern literature. There were many guests speakers attending promoting their current and future works. The venue was well organized and well maintained. Highly impressed at their preparedness in such a high number of attendees. Would highly recommend this venue to anyone who may be visiting during the time of this event. You will not be disappointed.

Great place. We have the annual membership that i jusr renewed for the 2nd time. Interaction with the animals is our favourite part. Laser tag and trampoline are also great & included in admission. Just wish there were more working lasers (max 6) . I have also noticed some dangerous deficiencies in the trampoline area on multiple occasions, each time I always tell the staff & insist it is a danger to guests & insist they fix it. They eventually address it but I believe they should have a staff member surveying the trampoline area more carefully & initiating fixes to any dangerous areas more proactively.
