The Mayflower Theatre is a beautifully maintained building with loads of history, surviving WWII and will soon be celebrating it's 100th birthday. It has staged some of the greatest shows ranging from a smaller theatre group, bands to the biggest West End shows. There is a bar on all 3 levels for visitors convenience and a lift for visitors mobility issues. You can hire binoculars to see the stage close up for just a pound. I have not ever been disappointed and have seen quite a variety of shows. Long may it continue

This theatre is one of my favourite theatres. There is always so much to come and see. Very clean with great views of the stage.

What a beautiful theatre. I am in a wheelchair and used a dedicated entrance. In there was a bathroom that was amazing. The entrance to the theater was down the side and our seats just inside. The view was fairly good and I had no complaints. We had a great time.. the staff were very helpfull and made sure we were ok.

I really like this theatre, which regularly brings good shows down from London. The inside has classic theatre charm, and the acoustics are pretty good (saw Book of Mormon sitting in the stalls and it was a great audio/visual experience) The toilets are teeny tiny though, so don’t leave it long in the intermission to queue up… or don’t get a drink before the show lol.

Came to see Titanic the musical on Friday 14th April 23. My daughter treated me for my birthday. The show was amazing enjoyed it very much. First time I have been to the mayflower Southampton. A lovely theatre staff were friendly and very helpful. Thank you for making in amazing Evening out for me and my daughter.

SIX! Was absolutely incredible. The ladies put on a great show and did themselves proud. Was my daughters first ever show at a theatre and she was very impressed. So lucky to have The Mayflower on our doorstep.

Show was really good but The Theatre could do with a severe update. Haven't been for years, chairs are uncomfortable and the floor is very sticky, can pay for binoculars but half of them are missing.

First time at the Mayflower to see Bonnie and Clyde. The theater itself was lovely. The view was great and i would think all of the seats would be the same. The staff team were super friendly and helpful. The musical was a pleasure to watch. We have already booked 3 more trips. Can't wait to go back

Travelled from London to see Joseph at the Mayflower. Was such an amazing show, all cast were brilliant. Staff inside the theatre were super friendly and helpful. Merchandise is fairly expensive but that's to be expected at a show unfortunately. Beautiful theatre from 1928. Great views from pretty much every seat.

Granddaughter , daughter and myself went to see dinosaur 🦕. Great show 👏 staff very polite and helpful lovely afternoon. Children very excited 😊

With a varied selection of performances good acoustics and a nice interior this is a great place to sit and relax watching a variety of shows. It gets a good atmosphere inside, seats are a typical size for this age/type of building. Intervals there is a bar, ice cream kiosk and snacks available in the foyer.

A Beautiful theatre in Southampton, a few yards from the central train station and near some very good restaurants. The Duty manager Millie is such a lovely, kind and helpful person. Would definitely recommend this place.. Uh may zing!!

Lovely old theatre, however the performance of cirque was utterly ruined for the first half by playing the speakers far too loudly— 3 of our group of 5 had to cover their ears for the first half and it ruined the singing as not only was it too loud the quality was tinny, awful and distorted. It seemed to have improved in the second half. Expect extremely long queues for use of the bathrooms. However 4* as it is a lovely theatre and I want it to do well, but after having such a bad experience I can't honestly give it 5.

Jesus Christ Superstar. Modern interpretation, the original songs with interpreted dance instead of narration. Great performances, but I prefer the original 1971 version!

Visited the Mayflower to see Shrek with the grandchildren and we all thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Our tickets didn't scan properly but this was quickly sorted and reprinted. Would have been nice to have been offered booster seats for the children.

Centrally located, two car parks very very close and plenty of disabled parking. Polite friendly helpful staff, period decor, facilities good enough, very good view of the stage from the dress circle and no spurious pillars obscuring the view, brilliant. Welsh National Opera company were in fine form and we thoroughly enjoyed the visit. If you arrived by train then it is a very short walk, if you stayed at a central hotel, again a very short walk. Seats are a bit tight so if you're over 6 foot, seriously consider sitting in one of the many boxes otherwise it might be a bit cramped. All things considered it was a very pleasant experience and we enjoyed our second visit to the Mayflower theatre

Great traditional theatre in the heart of Southampton. Variation of shows from dramas to musicals with incredibly talented actors. Seats are spacious and comfortable. Facilities are ok (toilet cubicles are pretty tight) but well maintained. Staff are fabulous and very helpful. Easy to access via train and parking is close by.

The journey in ferries is around an hour also it will give you very qunique experience. The views is really amazing. Through out the journey you can experience the sea breeze. Also you can see huge ships, cruise, small boats..In cruise they have beautiful chairs to sit and relax this will give extra comfort to enjoy the ride...If you are hungry then they have a cafe and they have many options and it taste good.

Went with a coach holiday company via Southampton. Docks to the Isle of Wight. Boarding was quick and efficient. There's free WiFi on board. There's a cafe, bat and small shop on board. Prices were high though. The journey takes about an hour according to Google Maps

Easy experience with helpful staff. The ferry has a great viewing platform, places to eat and lots of seating to relax snd take in the beautiful views.

Very good and swift service. Expensive shop - purchase drinks before your trip. Dogs friendly with a lounge available 👍 One hour crossing that goes quickly. Definitely worth the trip to the isle of wight for the day.

Great service with plenty of amenities available to purchase. 2 decks for many types of vehicles. Nice view from the top deck and plenty of seating around. Great price for crossing over to the Isle of Wight. Would recommend going over to the island through this ferry. (Be very cautious if you do choose to fly a drone onboard).

Loved it. It's my first time to ferry with the car and enjoyed it. Seating rrangment is good. Outdoor seats and hangout available. If it's not raining, it's good.

My first time to visit Isle of Wight by coach, just go holiday for 4days by coach and we catch a ferry in Red Funnel, a lovely experience indeed. I didn’t know Red Funnel then until my holiday. So there, you know it now, visit Isle of Wight, by Ferry in Red Funnel. See you there, maybe! 🥰🙏🥰❤️

Booked an inclusive camping package and all is great so far. Ferry crossing went really well, only minor thing is it would be nicer if the staff seemed a bit more cheerful. But I imagine they have been drained by the covid situation.

Normally travel Wight link but occasionally go on Red Funnel. I kinda feel Wight link is better if it's a busier crossing but if you are on Red Funnel and not huge amounts of people are on it's a much nicer crossing. You can enjoy the boat and actually access the shop and get things in a timely manner. Red Funnel staff also seem to have a bit more personality about them and nice to talk to.

Very efficient, helpful and informative, got me on an earlier ferry when I enquired as I got there earlier than expected. Kept informed on the return two hours in advance that there may be a delay. The food onboard is surprisingly good, the fries were so nice I didn't buy any when on the island, waited for the return to treat myself.

Hi, Well organised and No Hassel to onboard or return. Entry check office would recognise the number plate of the vehicle and let you in immediately. No need to show any document or reference number required if you're on time or bit early. Please be informed all Fridays would be crowded and not easy to book a slot for onboard or return. If you are late for the booked slot, you may get the slot in the late evening or the next day. But the reservation booking or ticket says we can return anytime within working hours. I wish my host would have informed us earlier. Inside the boat you have all the amenities and maintened very well. Staffs are polite and professional. I would recommend this to anyone. We are satisfied. Happy journey

This is the first time we traveled with Red Funnel Ferries and had a great experience. The service was on time and staff are super friendly. We have initially missed our scheduled ferry due to a family member fall sick and they were happy to accommodate us in the next available ferry by putting in wait list.

Lovely way to cross over to the Isle of Wight. The ferry takes cars and vans too. Inside there are multiple decks serving food and drinks or you can sit up top in the open and enjoy the sea air and views. It’s takes about an hour to do the crossing. Ferries are punctual and staff friendly and efficient.

Took this car ferry from the Isle of Wight to Southampton many times. The ferry is always on time. Crossing is pleasant. You can purchase food and drink on the boat and the toilets are clean. Plenty of seating with tables. To make the time past quickly I recommend brining a book to read with you.

Great ferry, no issues to me so far. On time there and back. There was limited access to the lift only. Food, drinks, toilets, all in the spot.

Hi quality service, well organised and made very easy to travel. No need for tickets or booking ref. Upon arrival by the entrance, an Automatic Plate Recognition Camera brings all the info to the staff members, and they will direct you to the correct lane, while waiting for loading. Loading starts 15min before departure time so I would recommend to be around 20min before your booked slot. On my way back from the Isle of Wight I called to ask if it is possi le to travel at a later time, and a very polite person on the other aide of the phone helped me very efficiently to postpone my ferry 3,5h. I am very satisfief with the service. The cabun inside is warm and clean. Food prices on board are inflated a lot so grab your snacks from the lokal shops before boarding.

Reliable and efficient ferry service, very accommodating when your early or even missed your ferry. Looking forward to when we get a dog to use the pet lounge!

Very good Trip both ways to isle of wight,myself and friend enjoyed 5 day break.

Please note when travelling down quay road with the docks on your right looking for terminal 1 you come to a sign on the left that says IOW ferry it's then your next right, it comes up very quickly, as soon as you turn in you then turn left immediately to the terminal entrance. There's a coffee shop in the terminal too. Get there early and get a seat at the front of the boat, nice comfy seats

Weekdays is perfect time to visit as you will get best opportunity to see evey nook and corner without being in queue everywhere. It has a lots of details about Titanic, Birtanic and Queen Marry ships in detail and a lot of others. A huge hall in the form of courtroom with constant video playing with people in question. The place can be covered within 60-90 minutes followed by a nice lunch/food at ground floor and a souvenir shop as other museum. Staffs are happy to help. There is an educational site for students mostly busy during term time. Other times, there are colouring pages for kids. Its a good informative place if you are enthusiastic about #Titanic. Tha parking is not at sight, only one is next to Southampton council next to museum but its paid 2 hours only. Another car par is West Park with is 3 minutes walking distance. Enjoy!

It was really a nice experience for me and my family. We could relate to some of the displays as we had watched the Titanic movie. The public needs to keep on offering condolences to southampton, especially for visitors/foreigners like us. It was really emotional.

It was truly an immersive and a wonderful experience. Plan ahead and spend an entire day wandering the walls of the rich Southampton history which includes - The titanic experience, History of early settlers in Southampton and Southampton’s contribution to some of the greatest historical events. You will definitely not regret this experience. There are also fun games you can indulge in and even get your fortune read by a gypsy! It’s super fun!!

I found this museum worth the tickets to purchase which cost under £10 per adult. Although small it is unique holding an exhibition of the titanic and true tales of survivors as well as activities for all ages to participate in. In addition to this there are also vintage game machines which was am additional wow! Leaving you not only with a one of a kind souvenir compared to other museums but also a fun element that makes the trip round the museum one of learning, application of that knowledge and sheer joy.

Attending as a parent helper for my son and his class on their school trip, I was blown away by the quality of the exhibitions at this wonderful museum. The staff were exceptional, and went above and beyond to make sure we were all well looked after, and had what we needed. Shortly after we arrived I started feeling unwell, but without a second though a staff member found me a quite place to sit and offered me a drink, coming to check on me regularly until I began to feel better. If you get a chance to visit I can't recommend this museum enough, there are brilliant interactive displays as well as traditional treasures with information boards. Brilliant for all ages!

Good few hours learning about the Titanic and the history of Southampton. Interactive sections were not working on the day of our visit which was a shame.

Although expensive, the museum justifies the price - luckily i got through with a student deal. Titanic section is brilliantly laid out and offered some details, photos and facts that I, as an enthusiast of the Olympic Class Liners, didn’t know. Museum is clean, well lit and nicely laid out. Staff are friendly. Shop is mint but just a tad expensive. Didn’t pick up the light up model of RMS Titanic due to its price, but if someone lets me know the name and company, I’ll be sure to pick it up in the future. Such a great visit.

I have a Titanic mad son so when my husband was at a funeral I took our children to visit here. I'm so glad we did. Such an amazing exhibition, learning about the people who lived in Southampton who then went to work on the Titanic. You can see original artifacts from the Titanic including a watch. There are interactive parts of the exhibition where you can steer the Titanic, send Morse Code and even fuel her! The staff were all amazing and helpful, there was good disabled access for my son in his disabled buggy and we had some yummy food in the cafe. This is a definitely a must for any Titanic fan!

I think this museum is absolutely wonderful. I think one thing to be aware of is they don't have anything from the crash (which is respectful so we can't be disappointed) it is belongings from the survivors of Southampton (some of which were on the Titanic but brought back with the survivors). They're a particularly stunning part of the museum where the floor is a map of the city, and every red dot represents a person who died and their address. I was in awe of how almost every street had lost at least one person. You really get to see how the story of the Titanic and Southampton are inextricably linked. In that sense it was very powerful. It's also very interactive and even though I am in university I had fun doing the activities meant for kids 🤫. Wish I took more photos.

A small museum, where you can spend a few hours learning about the Titanic mainly and then some things about the people who have inhabited the area, through the ages. Left me wanting more but I take that as a good sign. The Titanic exhibit is quite interactive and entertaining. Loved the gym they had onboard. Amazing for 100 ago! Fun facts and curiosities are always good and I think it was good for older kids too, to excite their imagination and get them involved. Four stars because I wish it was better signaled and organized and have a few more objects or replicas.

Slightly disappointing museum regarding the titanic expedition, it’s in no way terrible or awful but on the same hand it’s at best a slow 30-45min look around very few items, considering the ‘maiden voyage’ set sail from Southampton, I expected more. £10.50 is about the maximum I’d pay, however it’s not a place I’d be visiting again sadly. The museum dedicated to titanic in Liverpool is amazing and had far more articles and treasures so if you’re a titanic fan then that’s the place to visit in the uk.

This was a nice day out after living in Southampton for 12 years. I've never actually visited so I thought it was about time I have to say was a bit bigger than I thought it was going to be. As for the Titanic side of things it was okay it's difficult because you know you're not gonna see too much from something that sank to the bottom of the ocean but I was partly expecting a little more. Overall, a good day out and kids would love it

Very interesting place to visit. The stories and displays are well done. Was expecting more items that were actually from Titanic, alot seemed to be from Olympic, but similar to or like what would be on Titanic. Nice little gift shop.

The Sea City Museum in Southampton, Hampshire is OK. It offers a decent glimpse into the maritime history of the city, but some exhibits felt a bit dated. The staff is friendly, and the location is convenient, making it an OK choice for a casual visit. However, if you're a history enthusiast, you might find it somewhat lacking in depth. Overall, an OK experience.

It’ll give you chills. It’s a very interesting place. So many activities too for kids. Only thing we didn’t like is the hot drinks in the cafe. Ordered 4 and all of them were 3/10. The museum itself is 8.5/10

Great experience learning about the history of Southampton, and the tragedy of Titanic. Well worth the admission. Plenty of details and activities for the whole family.

This was a fascinating museum to visit, telling stories about the history of the Titanic and its sailing! Artefacts are shown, insight is given into what the people would have eaten and rooms small or large depict the setting on the ferry. The works of art are glorious, allusions are created by images like the replica stairs on the wall that look real and a simulator for the engine is amazing! A large room has interesting video presentations, replicas of the boat are incredible and amusements are not only historic but also available now for some here.

I have always loved this museum, and have tried to visit at least once a year since my father took my brother and I as kids. The history with the displays is fascinating, and gives a real flavour for the times and places associated with the beautifully kept aircraft. I'm a keen model maker, and the huge displays of scale models are brilliant. The staff are also wonderful, and going and having a cockpit tour of the Beachcomber is an absolute must

Simply amazing. So much information and aircraft of great historical value, significance and importance on display, with rich connections to Southampton, birthplace of the Supermarine Spitfire!. A couple of hours went in a blink of an eye. A great place to top up your aviation knowledge or even general knowledge for that matter. Well worth the admission fee. Highly recommended. Ample paid parking available on the main road parallel with the museum.

Absolutely excellent little museum. They make the best possible use of the space they have and there's lots more to see than I expected. I was especially impressed with the staff who were very knowledgeable about the aircraft and happy to chat too. Highly recommended for anyone remotely interested in aviation. Sadly, I found out I would be too tall to have been allowed to fly a Harrier, but enjoyed the opportunity to sit on the cockpit regardless.

Absolutely loved it. Very interesting great aircraft exhibits. Good display of firepersons and equipment in a separate section.also a small police section. Trent even opened up the tram shed for me. Result. Everyone was really helpful a number of hands on exhibits as well. In the pipeline a cafe and another undercover area for more aircraft exhibits. Must go back

A fantastic fully accessible museum, staff were really friendly and gave loads of hints and tips. You can go aboard the boat plane and sit in a few planes. Upstairs on the top floor is the Hampshire Police and Fire Service museum as well, all included in the price. We had a fantastic visit.

Fantastic place, worth £12 adult entrance fee. Did not realise I was there for two hours. Would go again. I don’t usually give 5/5 ratings, here it’s an exception. Get a tour of plane of the cockpit . Personal are very knowledgeable

From the outside this old hangar looks a bit run down, hidden away, and not looking like too much from the road. Need better marketing. However, it's like stepping into the Tardis! This is a hidden gem that time seems to have forgotten. I was amazed at how many airplanes are on show inside, it's full of history, 3 floors (there is a lift by the way). Old planes are everywhere from the floor to the ceiling. Museum also includes the Hampshire police and Fire Heritage Collection. Talking statue of a policeman little bit scared my kids but they were OK at the end. Like a lot of these small museums they rely on the good work of volunteers and these were brilliant, helpful and friendly. Last time we visited was a while ago and my little ones were allowed to sit in cockpit. They loved it. Absolutely fantastic and highly recommended if you're in Southampton near Town Quay. This wasn’t our first trip and certainly won’t be our last.

Bigger than expected. Lots to see! Free entry to the Police & Fire museum included too. Can be a bit dark in some places, needs more lights. Also a lot of exhibits are "work in progress".

What a gem. Independently run and well worth a visit. Took the kids (2 & 4) on a rainy day and it didn't disappoint. Loads to look at and very informative. You can even sit in a few planes. Will happily go back

This is a small but very high quality museum covering both the aircraft built in the area, and police fire and auxiliaries active during the second world war. An area of focus is seaplanes. They have a great collection of historically significant seaplanes.

Not much to look at from the outside, but once you are inside it's a real treasure trove of aviation history. Great place to go with or without the family. Interactive for all and knowledgeable volunteers. One of the best attractions was sitting inside an old WW1 cockpit.

Nice and quiet place, full of avation history and historic planes of southern coast of england. Tourists could go inside the huge “flying boat” which is well preserved and amazing, but the museum in general maybe a bit crowded as many planes fitted in a relatively small area.

Wow what a Fantastic place!!! A real hidden gem in the heart of the city, bringing to light the history of marine aviation in a rich way. Volunteers were friendly and informative- a must visit if you're visiting Southampton and have an interest in aviation/marine or war time economic developments.

Great museum of bygone era of flying boats and many other jet and propellor aircraft. Also a police and fire service museum on the upper floor. Lovely afternoon browsing all the informative displays, sitting in the exhibits and learning a lot about the topics.

Helpful, friendly volunteers. Definitely worth a visit. The Beachcomber is a very special plane as the lovely guide will explain why.

What an amazing museum hiding some Of this glorious countries military aircraft. The Sunderland air boat which you can actually go inside is the highlight of the museum. Only need 1 hour to 1.5 hour to compete it

Great museum for the history buff that has an interest in aviation. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit, the exhibits are fantastic and the staff are welcoming and helpful and very generous to give up there free time to run this beautiful part of our history

17th September 2021...Returned on a journey between Weymouth and 4 Marks Alton so did a ride on the ferry train...to do our bit to hopefully keep it going. 30th June 2021...Loved to go to Southampton as a child, on the Ferry from my aunties in Hythe....the trip on the train....going past the big ocean going liners....going to the end of the pier in the night and watching the liners go past all lit up....it is definitely something that needs saving as it seems to be under threat of closing so other children can have the same memories.

An excellent way to get into town! We’ve used this historic service for years and it never fails. It’s around £7.50 for a return, and that includes a train ride up the pier and the ferry ride. (Make sure you look out for the seat that King George sat in on the train) The ferry offers fantastic, up-close views of the cruise ships, especially when the Queens are in. When you get into Southampton, it is a 10 minute walk into West-Quay, or you can take a bus for £1.

On the 11th April 2018 I visited Hythe village for the very first time. Not really knowing what to expect I found it a very beautiful village on the banks of the Southampton water. Hythe is a town near Southampton, Hampshire. It is located by the shore of Southampton Water, and has a ferry service connecting it to Southampton. Hythe has a small shopping area, a pier, and a very picturesque marina for yachts. The name Hythe means landing place or haven. Hythe is recorded in a Parliamentary roll from 1293. The Hythe ferry to Southampton is marked on a map by Christopher Saxton of 1575, and on a map by John Harrison in 1788. Hythe was part of the parish of Fawley, although it became a separate parish in 1841. The current church, of Saint John the Baptist, was erected in 1874. It is of red brick with Bath Stone dressings. There were at one time even stocks in the village. Thanks in part to the British Power Boat Company and it’s excellent access to the English Channel, during World War II Hythe was used as a port for the little ships of the Royal Navy as they were then known, the Motor Torpedo Boats and the RAF Air Sea Rescue Boats. In 1960, The Hovercraft Development Company and Sir Christopher Cockerell, who was the founder, moved to Hythe, he did in fact live in one of the houses near to the marina. There was also a small Royal Air Force base in Hythe known as RAF Hythe. Until its closure in September 2006 it was used by the United States Army to service and maintain watercraft. Hythe was a village up to the 1950’s, but the expansion of Fawley Refinery, now closed, led to a demand for more houses for workers, and Hythe and Dibden Purlieu were allowed to expand into a small town. In 1983, following the growth of Hythe, the parish of Dibden was renamed to Hythe and Dibden, to reflect the importance of Hythe as a new focal point of the Parish Hythe has a small shopping area clustered around the High Street, which includes a Waitrose Supermarket, a public library, several charity shops, and various small independent retail shops and cafes. The Hythe Pier, Railway and Ferry operates across Southampton Water to Southampton, and is the oldest working pier train in the world. Hythe's position makes it a good viewing point for watching ocean liners arriving and departing at the port of Southampton, which attracts ship spotters to the area. Hythe has a marina, at which a large number of yachts and boats are moored. Large and expensive houses are situated around the marina, overlooking the waterside. This is controlled by large lock gates at the entrance leading out to Southampton Water.

Not happy - Cowes week -and last ferry to Hythe is 7.30pm. We caught the 6.30pm IOW ferry back to make transfer to Hythe but ferry didn't wait for the passengers off the car ferry or the fast cat!! It only had to wait 3 minutes and seeing as last ferry of the day..Lots of people running but it was gone...😔

Delightful trip on a small train to the end of a very long pier! An interesting and easy way to visit Southampton avoiding the traffic.

The one of most efficient ways to get Hythe and come back to Southampton. It’s quick and enjoyable. I would like also suggest you take a seat outside (there are 4 branches outside two cabins), and feel the wind and water on 100%.

Lovely, relaxing way to travel into Southampton. Cheaper if you buy 10-journey ticket (valid for a year). So much better customer service since Blue Funnel took over.

My 16yo daughter had a very unpleasant experience with the ticket man at Town Quay who ridiculed her for buying the correct adult ticket (rather than pretending she was younger than she was). This was then followed by further inappropriate behaviour towards her group of girl friends whilst in the queue, who were wearing summer clothing at the time. A formal complaint was made but no response!! They won't go on the ferry again, for fear of this happening again.

A Must do if visiting Hythe, train and ferry journey bringing you into old southampton walls and ,if you turn left, straight to dancing man brewery !! Perfect.

We decided to start visiting some of the Southampton museums and learn more about the city I've lived in for many years. The staff were friendly and explained the facilities. The museum starts with a short audio experience that gives a brief overview. You then are guided by an audio tour around the building learning about the various changes in Southampton over the years. I've read some mixed reviews but was pleasantly surprised with the building and gardens. The later probably being nicer in the spring/summer. The café was decent and I had a nice late. The view is over the garden which was pleasant. Don't expect anything fancy, it will take you between 1 and 2 hours to look around. I think it's worth a visit and I like helping local museums.

Interesting to get a perspective on the history. Heard it used to be better with more authentic furnishings throughout the facility. For the price is a good deal and entertaining.

We loved our recent visit, and we visited the café and had coffee, which was lovely. A lovely, friendly member of staff served us, and we'll definitely be back. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, and we both loved our visit.

If you’re visiting Southampton this place is good for some historical interest. It’s a mix of different centuries all in one. From medieval times to Georgian and Victorian. Well worth a visit for locals and visitors. It’s compact and can be walked around in about an hour. Lots of different articles throughout the centuries as is on two floors with a garden. It has a small café inside too. There are restrooms for all with disabled facilities. It’s got a guide in most rooms for additional information. It’s relatively inexpensive to get in and I thought it was very interesting.

Read so much about Tudor House and the Tudors, so it was quite an experience to actually be here. It's autumn so the Garden is not as pretty as I thought it would be. Great to see all the effort to keep this place standing even after 800 years.

I am rating this place as ok. First of all, the name is misleading as I expected this house to be somehow connected to the Tudor monarchy, but it is not. The house itself dates back to the 15th century, and its history is shown throughout the house. If you love history, then the house will get your interest. If, like me, you know and appreciate history and have general knowledge and seeing it is like seeing any other historic house. It gives a knowledge of live throughout of centuries and its a present place to see if you have some time to kill.

We enjoyed our walk around the Tudor House and Garden, especially the interactive parts. The children enjoyed it too (aged 3, 4 and 8). It was really interesting.

Haven't been here since 1975, as a kid, when my Dad took me round. The floorboards are as creaky as I remember, but a lot of the small items on display have gone. Was interesting to hear about the extensive work done to save this lovely old building from falling apart. It had undergone many alterations by dodgy builders in its distant past, so needed a lot of help. The gardens and cafe are also worth checking out, as is the cannon up on the battlements.

I booked Santa trip and was very disappointed! £16 per child wasn’t worth it the craft activities were not for 6 year old and two year old , not much effort on decor and the cafe all food came out different times and they weren’t over busy ! More effort needed all round !

The impressive 'Tudor House' was built in 1491. The house was owned by Sir John Dawtrey, the man who worked with Henry VIII to fit out the Royal Navy. The house backs on to the remains of King John's Palace and Southampton City walls.

Lovely place to visit, bigger than it looks and friendly staff. They guy who served us going in is getting married soon so good luck and the lady in the cafe keep on making those lovely cheese scones.

The staff are really friendly. The cafe was good and very reasonably priced with options for kids too. The house was interesting to explore. Young kids can take an explorers pack around with them to keep them interested. There's also an opportunity to dress up.

This was a nice attraction in the heart of Southampton, not far from the waterfront and city centre. It was interesting learning about the history of the property and seeing some of the remaining original features. There is a short show included which talks through it's history and the previous owners/occupants. However this is probably aimed more at children. The grounds are nice, but small. I visited in the winter so the flowers and herbs were not in season. I would recommend visiting in the spring or summer to reap the full benefits! There is also a small gift shop with the usual tat you would expect from something like this. I think it's overpriced really for what you get for the cost of the entry ticket. That being said, it really doesn't cost much anyway! So worth a visit if you're looking for things to do.

If you have a chance to visit Southampton and you love history, this is the place for you. This place has been standing for over 800 years and I applaud the effort to keep the place standing. The garden area is beautiful and I learned a lot about the house as I walked around each section.

Really beautiful house, with easy to follow guides & lots of interesting information. Great for families, with lots of interactive activities for children, and really friendly & helpful volunteers. Great resources for visually/hearing impaired visitors, but not wheelchair accessible due to many stairs. I use a walking stick & managed, just took the stairs slowly.

I was very well surprised. Such a lovely stadium with nice views and great atmosphere (as you’d expect if your teams winning). The away fans section was nice in the food area and having the loud home fans sitting either side of you probably isn’t the best for health and safety. It was a strange night with many things happening and those 6 Southampton fans who tripped and attacked two opposing fans at the end of the game should be ashamed of themselves. Cannot let that tarnish the club in anyway but policing should’ve been better at the away end. All in all, can’t wait to be back again!

Easy to reach location, would advise using city centre parking and walking in. As with many stadiums F&B is limited with long queues and pricey, recommend using the many food wagons that surround the stadium. PA is clear, good views from all areas and the seating/walkways are clean and well maintained.

Argyle on tour !! Another 7hr round trip by car because Sky decided we play at 6pm on a Friday in the middle of the Xmas hols !! Fantastic stadium with excellent support from their fans. They have a great team this season. They ran us ragged but we stood proud with 3k away fans for 2nd time in 3 days. Their player budget is 60 million. Ours is 6 million. We went to Brown's pub before the match which was perfect with good real ales. They will go up....but we will see them back the year after !!

Took my little boy for his 1st match and he had a great time. The stadium is easy to get too, especially to navigate and also not so big that getting a drink or going to the toilet is a problem. The stewards and staff were all really friendly, and the seats were comfortable enough to sit in for a few hours without a problem. Definately a recommend for football fans of any age!

Woman's Euros. Austria vs Northern Ireland. First international game I ever seen. Fantastic astrosphere with lots of cheering and singing. Loves St Mary's Football Stadium. I will definitely me coming back for future games!

A decent stadium. Located a short walk from where we parked near the harbour (Ocean Village which cost about £6 for 6 hours) which had a good selection of pre match bars (and where our team stayed so nice to meet before the game). Not the nicest of surroundings but hear some of the area is being regenerated which will improve some aspects. Food outside the ground was very good but the usual pound or two extra cost. Good access, wide concourses with helpful stewards, beer was OK and average price (unusual to see Kingfisher served at a football ground). Nice amount of tvs also to watch another game. Great atmosphere and the sound system was superb even. Result was great also. A decent away day.

Decent enough ground for Premiership and Championship football. Bowl shaped stadium. Good size at 33k capacity. Seats are starting to go a bit pink. Stadium has little character, but the atmosphere is alright. Loved the Kingfisher and Thatchers on tap in the concourse. One of the worst grounds I've visited in terms of traffic and getting in and out of the proximity.

Best stadium on the South Coast. Wonderful atmosphere, a must visit for any football fan, Saints or not. There's lots of parking on the surrounding streets too which is useful. Top tip: you can bring your own food and drinks (non-alcoholic) into the stadium - the food inside is some of the worst I've ever had so save yourself the expense and disappointment and go to the tesco next door beforehand 👌

Was invited through work into a corporate hospitality box. The service by the staff and the overall experience was top class. As a Chelsea fan I was impressed by how this club looks after its supporters and visitors.

What a stadium 😍. We came over from Germany for Saints vs. Spurs. What can I say, we got an amazing 3-3 with a last minute penalty equaliser. Stadium itself is super nice. Not one of these soul-less modern arenas but one with history and flair. Also got the chance to go a business box afterwards, which was nice. We will definitely come back. Go Saints!

Game days are always a good experience (well better of course if Southampton win) but the best way to see a football game is to see it live.

We had a great time watching Southampton vs. Bournemouth, sadly, didn't go as we hoped, but it was a lot of fun nonetheless! Even got to meet and take pictures with Sekou Mara!

Fantastic atmosphere and fantastic gift shop with great prices definitely recommend going to a match after the gift shop!

26-11-23. Took part in the 10k, starting and finishing in the Stadium. Not an inspiring course but well organised and nice to be pitchside and to have the Stadium facilities available.

Decent stadium, the home fans were quiet. Bristol city lost but it was still good. It is worth noting that there isn’t much parking around the ground.

Good museum and great for children, play barn good for 5+ I'd say. Lots of farm animals to look at. Some classic Tractors, Victorian farm house and wartime cottage were good.

Very enjoyable day with the grandchildren. Lots to do with animals to see, playgrounds, walks and a reasonable price entrance fee. Car parking is included within the ticket prices. The children had great fun dressing up in the clothes in the house too and exploring the Maze Maize. Would highly recommend a visit. Only downside for us was the large amount of wasps/bees around the picnic area by the playbarn. It was impossible to sit and enjoy our picnic

Great location with a plethora of activities and things to suffice all ages. We went in Easter holidays and it wasn't too crowded or populated to be uncomfortable. Plenty of parking for all, with a free parking service end of your visit. Even for bigger vehicles like Campervans or disability access. The village is like stepping back in time with an Anderson shelter, multiple building all set and dressed to the period and a large open vegetable garden. Really a spectacle for history buffs. The animals are plenty and well located, great walkabout with loads to see and maybe pet depending how close they are. The donkeys are awesome. Massive play area, indoor and out, with a large toilet facility. The coffee shop/cafe was lacking due to 1 machine working, barely any food and a bit grubby all on the surfaces. However the staff and the people about were great. Overall a good visit, worth going and plenty to see regardless how many times you go.

Wide range of activities for smaller children to take part in and animals to see. Will definitely go again sometime. Went again and it was better still as the indoor areas were open again. The grandchildren were fascinated by the demos of doing the washing and mangling it.

It was really nice place to take the kids. They had a trail around the park which the kids loved. They did a giant wooden puzzle. There is a large indoor play area. It looks very new and well kept. A family pass is great value too. Would recommend.

Kids absolutely love coming here, really great family friendly place lots to see and do The cafe is very expensive (like most places are) so definitely worth taking your own food & drinks charges nearly £2 for a single milk ice lolly which wasn’t even the branded version & nearly £5 for a pre made sandwich has a little gift shop which was reasonably priced when compared with the cafe prices kids teddy/dog was only about £10 (not as expensive as some gift shops at other family attractions Ive visited) shop is situated at the entrance/exit but is off to the side so you don’t have to walk directly through & can be avoided if required. entrance price is fairly reasonable but you do have to pay for parking (not included in the entrance price )

Cute little place. The kids loved going there, there are a few animals to see and a cool indoor and outdoor play area. Plus you can view the sweetest cottage.

One of our best days out this summer, first visit for many years and the improvements are amazing. The indoor play barn with picnic area and cafe are brilliant, the added outdoor space with tractors to play on is also fabulous. So many lovely animals to meet, my favourite was a sleepy piglet sunbathing in a huge outdoor pen. Welfare is clearly the top priority here with very well cared for animals enjoying spacious enclosures. There's a larger cafe serving a good range of snacks and meals with outdoor and covered seating. The farmhouse with its incredible array of historical artefacts which brings alive social history for children is to be commended. There's a Victorian school house and a WW2 house plus beautiful cottage garden to explore. I highly recommend Manor farm for a great day out.

Nice afternoon out for kids, lots of play opportunities and things to explore. Parking spaces are very tight! Which is odd given that most people who will come are with children/babies in car seats. So just bare this in mind!

Great day out, My 4-year-old absolutely loved it. Prices for entry, food, and drink are also reasonable. There are plenty of animals to see and stuff to learn. Indoor and outdoor play areas as well.

Lovely morning at Manor Farm with my daughter & 3yr old granddaughter. She was a little disappointed that she couldn't pet the animals but really loved the play areas both indoor and outside. Shame that the café wasn't open so hopefully next time it will be. Some shaded seating outside the play barn would also be good as it was pretty sunny and there wasn't much shade available. Will definitely be back!

Great day out with young children. Wide range of farm animals and other activities. Heavens opened during visit but the indoor play area was a god-send. Free parking with entry to the farm which is always welcome. Lady in the cottage explaining the old games was brilliant and amazing with the children

Good, but could be better. This is a farm with an indoor playground and pony rides (additional cost). There are some cute animals, but no petting or feeding opportunities. There's lots of old tractors, but kids aren't allowed on them. There's pony rides, but a 45 minute queue to do it as there's only 2 ponies in school holidays. There was an Easter egg hunt, but only 8 kids got something (out of hundreds there). There were some gold medals, but again only about 10. Lots of upset kids feeling disappointed when they saw others with a medal or an Easter egg. If you're going to do Easter things, just give every kid a small egg! The playground was great and lots of cute lambs about though. Not a bad half day of entertainment for young kids. Just not great.

Such a lovely place. We were pleasantly surprised. The pony ride was our son's favourite . So much to do and it is a great space for learning,as well.

A lovely family experience and an intriguing insight into how farms used to be in the not to distant past. Fun, engaging and educational, it really helps to give people an appreciation of our history and how things were made, grown, kept and cooked. Animals, machinery, cafe, toilets, ample parking and the country park and river isn't far away either.

Visited here with my elderly disabled mother. She really enjoyed seeing the animals. Carers go free and there are plenty of toilets including disabled access toilets. It has a nice cafe outside. We enjoyed the old kitchen and school room.

This is such a delightful traditional farm to take the family too,young and old, staff are amazing, lots of facts and information, walking areas,definitely will revisit.

Dog and child friendly. A little piece of the countryside in the middle of a town. Love it. Ideal for walks, picnics, ball games, play park etc. enjoy a walk around the old Southampton Cemetery with its historical graves!

A great place in the city for a walk, a run, cycling and bringing the dogs out. Large open fields and lots of trees as well as lakes too. A large playground and a nearby pub, The Cowherd’s. Parking via Cemetery Rd. Easy access for all. An essential part of the great outdoors during the last few months of the pandemic and beyond.

Suberb place to have a park in a city. Accessible to all. Only spoilt at weekends by people with little-to-no sense in having personal barbecues then leaving their rubbish behind. Other than that, we are so lucky to have a large green space that also represents a forest in parts to explore!

This park is amazing! It's great for walking, morning runs, and spending time with children with family.

Nice playground with white sand everywhere. Water attractions doesn't work, but kids still are happy to play with all parts of water area. Cafe on site with drinks and some snacks works till 5pm or so. Toilets available till 6pm. There is also a free water machine to fill your water bottles. All playground is surrounded by fence. :) also lots of space around for picnics/football/occasional payed attractions/lakes with birds to feed/forests and lots of jogging track.

Beautiful green space with lovely lakes, trees and the old Southampton Cemetery. Great history including graves of people who died on the Titanic. These have blue markers. Also, the Hawthorn Cafe is very nice.

Really nice for a family day! We went there yesterday with friends and had a picnic, the kids had loads of fun going around the playground and exploring around the woods as well.

Southampton common is big enough for your kids and dogs to stretch their legs and wear themselves out! Plenty of space for walkers, joggers and a little area for fitness too. There is a small playground area surrounded by a fence with a kiosk selling snacks and beverages so you can grab a cuppa while the little ones play... Fancy a snack or a cheeky treat 'The Cowherds' is a lovely pub right next to the common where your furry friends are also welcome ...perfect! 😁

I love the parks and playgrounds in southampton. Commons is probably one of the best and great when we get good weather.

I love this place! It’s always so peaceful and helps me cleanse my head. I especially enjoy seeing the ducks and swans around the pond in the middle. It’s indeed a lovely place. It’s next to a busy road but you can never hear the cars which is always a bonus.

Outstanding park! Lots to do or play park is surrounded by sand with water to play with too. Food on site and a pub a 1min walk away.

Very refreshing green space in the heart of Southampton. Love the many paths and lakes.

We had a fabulous day with friends at Southampton Common. There was free parking along the road to the side of the park and a large amount of spaces. The weather was fab which was great and the kids enjoyed climbing, sliding and swinging through the day. We also brought beach toys so they could play in the sand and there were also water pumps so they could get a little wet and also fill their buckets. There is a cafe on sight for drinks, sandwiches, some hot foods like chips and sausage rolls and ice creams. Things to consider: 1) There is absolutely no shade so be sure to bring hats and sun cream on warm days. 2) The toilet was closed in the park area so we had a few minute walk to reach one. Just worth bearing in mind if you have small children who are fine one minute and desperate the next.

Really love the playground. There are so many different types of apparatus for the kids to use. Only thing missing is a smaller set for babies to climb, but they love playing in the sand. There are also a nice number of swings.

This is a childs dream park lol theres water play, varied climbing frames and swings and further over the common there is a huge duck pond and a nice walk trail. There was a little shop on the parl selling drinks snacks and food, im not sure if this is seasonal only though. We would defo come back here maybe with a picnic or there is a busy pub right next to it.

Southampton Common currently includes 365 acres (148 ha)[3] of woodland, parkland, rough grassland, ponds, wetlands, nature trails, a children's play area, a model yachting lake, and a fishing lake. It’s a great place to relax and if you get hungry there is a local pubs with Food To the west, bordering on Hill Lane, is a historic cemetery that also includes many rare flora and fauna. Cemetery Lake is popular for birds.

Good opportunity to see a town from a little above. On the other hand walking on them will give you an idea how small Southampton was comparong to nowadays.

This ancient wall was built to prevent French pirates from attacking and now it's under repair. I saw only a portion of it and it was in the back side of the street. Take steps up to the ground level leading to the wall gate and town center, an area marked with new and old. Burger King was located at the corner for easy restroom assess and food. Traditional pub establishment was also presented in the holiday with beautiful decorations. Very nice to walk around.

A tourist visit to Southampton is never complete without a stop at the walls. Although they are no longer intact, pieces of it have being integrated into the City and complement the view. For instance, the section at West Quay has a foot bridge over it which provides the best view of West Quay and adjoining areas. Good spot to have some pictures taken when the weather is right.

Southampton city walls are worth a visit. They are extensive - although of course now extensively ruined and broken by modern thoroughfares. There are also sections with housing built right next to it suggesting it’s less than a treasured asset. Some sections are beautifully illuminated at night and so worth returning to after dark.

The North Town Wall runs from the Bargate to the Polymond Tower, including the two half-round interval towers, was built in the late 13th century. It replaced an earlier earthen rampart and timber palisade. The towers were originally equipped with arrow-slits most of which were converted to keyhole gunports in the late 14th century. A deep and wide moat ran along the front of the wall. This wall, at the moment (late 2019) , is not available to be accessed or seen due to works around the wall but hopefully once the building has been done around it it will be open to be viewed. The photos I have uploaded, front and rear views, is a true representation of the wall and were taken before work commenced around it. Some of the photos can also be seen on the Historic England website.

Having lived in Southampton a long time only recently taken the time to go round the old walls during covid 19 for exercise. And can recommend it both for the exercise and discovering the history of our city and heritage.

Keep in good condition even oven thousand years. The wall blends into city wonderfully.

Parts of the medieval walls are dotted around the city. They are free and have information boards to tell you about them.

Westquay is a must visit shopping centre in the heart of Southampton. For those that like big brand names, you will find many of them there, ranging from fashion shops, foot wears, watches, household items, phones, and even banks. The food courts are also available at the top floor to enable you relax after a long day's shopping.

I don’t know about shopping, but for sure the picturesque of the locale don’t allow you to get into showrooms, rather it calls to gaze the sea and the horizons beyond. Absolutely stunning views and charms. Regarding the shopping : Expensive if you are poor. Cheap if you are shopaholic. Love sales ? Then u will get the best deals.

This shopping centre is top notch with plenty of shops. There are also a good number of eateries and restuarants. The car park is massive to accommodate a good number of cars. For film lovers, there a cinema to make it happened for you guys.

West Quay is the place to be if you like up market shopping. All the big names are there under cover in a huge modern environment. Endless eating establishments mainly on the upper levels. There are also outside restaurants of all descriptions on a lower level next to a massive Cinema complex. Once out of West Quay,you are in Southampton High Street with more shops to choose from. Normally with street entertainment. All easily reached by bus and train, or Ocean Liner if you are lucky enough to be on one. The Ship terminal is in walking distance. Highly recommended.

It is a huge shopping center near the town centre with a Big car park. You can find all the shops you need and walk around going Up and downstairs. Really good place to spend hours inside.

A very well laid out shopping centre, with plenty of parking on site. Lots of different outlets to choose from. Lots of good restaurants to choose to eat from

The biggest shopping mall in the South of England! There are plenty different good quality stores where you can buy all you need and don’t have to worry about car park too. The stores are very clean and tidy, good selection of variety restaurants. Highly recommended to visit this place

A great shopping mall in Southampton with huge parking. You can actually find every shop and restaurant in the UK here .when you are at the last floor you can have a beautiful view of the harbour

Shopping, food, drink, cinema and bowling. There is something for everyone at Westquay. The only downside is the cost of parking in their multi-storey carpark.

I love westguay. There is a great range of outlet shops. A good range of restaurants and cafe's as well as bars. Somthing for every taste. Great views across the harbour to Gosport. Sit and watch the ferries going in and out.

West quay is a must when you come to Southampton. There is plenty of parking in the multi storey car park. I personally like the Mend Kind store full of wonderful gadgets. Other members of the family enjoy visiting Rituals. There are plenty of eateries on the top floor.

As a visitor to Southampton this was our first visit to WestQuay. We found it a calm and orderly place and was particularly impressed with the spaciousness of John Lewis and Marks and Spencers stores In addition, the staff in both these stores had plenty time for us as customers and as a consequence can highly recommend visiting here. We certainly will be back on our next trip to Southampton

DOG FRIENDLY!! We had a great time yesterday walking around the shopping mall and love that it is dog friendly again in all the shops!!!! 😁 Was a bit disappointed that we couldn't get food in there though no restaurant would allow the dog which we could of sat in a corner away from all food but they still didn't allow it. Not even on the tables outside of the restaurants They had art of Asia doing some of their dances in the centre. The smoothie place was really nice. nice and refreshing after our 2 hour journey from Brighton

Nice mall,have everything inside. I was there in cinema-its so nice, good shops where u can found whatever, food court and everything what have standart mall.

Very civilised, good choice Pre movie and … has a dinosaur skeleton. Why? Not a clue … maybe a Jurassic park franchise tie in that overcooked it’s welcome, but kept the kids interested so no complaints here

Great place. For family good amount of restaurants and shopping easily you can spent 4-5 h there if you go bot further you can see nice cruise ship park in the port too. Easy to. Find parking every parking places got different price I think one close to the west quay 2h cost around £3

Nice hotel with good views and good access to the motorway or city by car. Needs some refurbishing. Some mould in the bathroom and skirting needs replacing. Not very quiet when busy and breakfast average and a bit crowded so not ideal post covid routine.

The Ageaa bowl is a wonderful Cricket Stadium, built to a very high standard. Located in Southampton, it offers an opportunity to enjoy some good cricket, and also enjoy a day out in a very nice town. The ground itself offers fabulous views for the spectators. The facilities are nice and clean. A great place to enjoy cricket.

Went to watch England vs India and the day was epic! The venue has improved so much since my last visit and the same for the facilities! The park and ride service from Hedge End station was short and sweet with ample parking at the station...free after 4pm! Avoided all the crowds and cannot wait for the next big match at this venue.

Great venue for watching cricket. We watched Southern Brave take on another team as part of the "100" series last week but my son also had a cricket festival there the whole day today Great for kids, getting them more into the game. We made our journey by train last week to Hedge End and then took the free bus transfer to and from the venue which works superbly for us.

Third stay. Pretty good value for money. Room overlooked the pitch. Dinner at beefys was pretty decent opted for the burger which was an impressive size. Bar manager was very friendly and helpful. Only small moan was the amount of uncollected room service plates left outside the rooms on our arrival , they were gone in the morning but it didn't smell or look great for a first impression. Would stay again.

This is a first rate venue for cricket matches. It is easily accessible due to its access to the motorway network. There are hotels available in the vicinity. The ground is well maintained with plenty of places to eat and drink. When full the venue does have an issue with toilets that become overcrowded and an improvement needs to be made to the cleaning schedule. The viewing experience is excellent. The seats are comfortable. Stewards are well trained and friendly.

I went to a match in The Hundred. Really enjoyable experience. Great atmosphere! The stadium facilities were good. I didn't have to queue for restrooms. There were a lot of food options. The China town stand had a short queue so I tried that, the sweet chilli chicken noodles were nice. The seats were comfy enough. Leg room was decent. I'd recommend a visit.

Went to the Brave vs Rockets Hundred game. There were queues for food and drink, as expected, but service was fairly quick. I think the merchandise shop missed a trick. It sorely lacked many items that are available to buy online. Smoking in no smoking areas wasn't challenged by stewards. Oh, I had seats in Block DD. Three different stewards all sent me to Block D 🤦

We went here to see the Arctic Monkeys gig, which was an awesome night however the Ageas bowl is a nightmare! First of all, parking options are atrocious, we opted to rent a parking space from someone half an hour walk away, finding the venue was fairly easy, quite a walk even from the main road. It looks like a cool place, the security staff were friendly and approachable. The alcoholic drinks are minimum of £7.50 and bottled water is £3 however you're not allowed the bottle, it's poured into a cup. We were also advised on the ticket that no food or drinks were allowed to be taken in the venue and the queues were insane in 26 degree heat to just get some water is horrible management. Food was extortionate too, but there was a lot of options which is good. We paid £31 for two bowls of chips, small fried chicken pieces and lettuce. There's a lot of seating although you have to pay to use it. So the worst part was at the end of the gig around 25,000 all left the venue at the same time through the one exit, it was almost a stampede, people were climbing out through fences and hedges, barriers were knocked down, people were scaling the hill and subsequently falling and injuring themselves. They all spilled out onto the road and traffic had to come to a standstill. You would think that in 22 years since Ageas bowl has been in use they would have figured out a better solution than to just have everyone leave at the same time through the same exit.

Had a great day at Boundary Lakes GC. Fantastic golf course, in brilliant condition. The weather didn't play ball unfortunately, high winds and rain. Great place to visit , definitely play there again.

Booked a suite with x2 points rate. Arrived in room and almost everywhere we looked there was dust, and the windows hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Added photos so you can all see how bad it really was, its not a joke!! This is a suite costing something like £270 a night. They had no spare rooms, so they made the stay free, but the double points rate I booked was ignored, even though it was not my fault. Zero point awarded. I'm a Gold member so find this attitude disgusting really. Lady at desk said we can't award points... this is untrue, a hilton in Birmingham awarded me points previously for their mistakes. Room service forgot the bottle opener twice!! Aircon unit not working, video attached. Even the bar had dirt on the floor.

Lovely cricket ground with pitch close up. All staff are extremely friendly and helpful.Good selection of take out food. No major ques for anything. Only thing missing is the good old fashioned score board. I like to glance at stats through the game.

With it being a relatively new ground, it hasn't had to make compromises as it has grown, meaning all the seats have great views. The parking issues in the early days have got better as the years have gone on, and it's now relatively quick to leave the car parks after a big game. The food and drink is very expensive, but no surprise there.

First time visiting this place and the overall experience was fantastic! Ticket entry was all digital either via phone scan or paper scan, with plenty of people on hand to assist if needed! On the concourse there was loads of food stall to choose from! Seating arrangement is brilliant with plenty of pitch visibility. Be aware that you are not allowed to take in cans or glass bottled drinks, but plastic bottles, containers and food is absolutely fine which makes it easier - especially with kids! Parking on site is good, though you will have to wait at the end of the game until the crowds have left before you will be allowed to leave. Off site parking is also handy (20-30mins walk) and it’s best to exit away from the stadium on the “A” roads otherwise you will get stuck in quite a bit of “taxi” traffic. Thoroughly enjoyable day out and will definitely be revisiting!!!

Great modern hotel. Clean, large air con rooms. Large sunny terrace bar. Restaurant food was first class, well presented, tasty food. Service very good and really friendly. Breakfast was buffet style breakfast with huge selection from hot, continental, fruit, and cereals. Coffees, teas, and fruit juices.

Have been watching the Hundred tournament here with my family over the past few years. The organisation is brilliant and hardly wait time to get into the stands. Excellent services and food options and the atmosphere is amazing! Getting out of the car park after a match is a bit tricky though.

The theatre isn't great. It needs a modern refresh in general. However, the plays offered are very good, which brings 3 stars for the environment to 4 for the plays.

Nice little theatre with a big heart. The acoustics are really good. The seats are more comfortable than I expected. The few performances I have seen here have been very good. The atmosphere is fun. A nice selection of food and drinks available. I would recommend a visit.

Although it looks quite small from the outside the auditorium is surprisingly large. Seating is quite comfortable, although legroom is a bit limited. Catering facilities are reasonably priced. The programme is a varied mix of smaller professional productions and local amateur groups, with a variety of plays and concerts.

Simply the most uncomfortable theatre experience I’ve ever had, zero leg-room, expect pain and discomfort. Only two rows have acceptable space and even their seats are too close together.

The Night Sky. . 🙈🙈🤬 I CANNOT fault the Nuffield (City) venue. I have been there a number of occasions & the staff are faultless, the venue itself is well maintained, clean and comfortable. But last night's show The Nights Sky was one of the mostsb boring experiences Ive ever had the chance to sit through. It was a film about the galaxy with man with cold doimg a voiceover. He might be a lovely man but it was not worth the money.. 😫😫

We went to the Nuffield Theatre to see the 'Snow Queen' for our pre-Christmas family get-together. The family included adults and children aged from 7 to 14. The show was excellent and everyone enjoyed it - favourite characters were the crow and the reindeer. The Nuffield Christmas show never disappoints!

A good regional theatre with some good productions staged in a pleasant environment, but parking can be hard work. Particularly if trying to collect tickets prior to the performance, during University hours...

Initially hesitant about the price, but having now been on the trip around Portsmouth Harbour, it was worth every penny. The volunteers are brilliant, catering is excellent and the running commentary was very well informed. The ships siren is sensational. Love this ship 💖

I was invited to go on this boat for the afternoon. We'll I had the greatest time. There was a band ub40 tribute and they was amazing (are you 40). The boat staff was welcoming gand friendly you learn about the boat as well as drinks and a boogie. Love every minute was gutted it ended. Will recommend and will go back again.xx

A lovely day out, in what is a very unusual opportunity for most of us. The hot-dog was great and the drinks were reasonably priced. Support a good cause, enjoy the sea breeze and the sunshine. Plenty of places to sit on the deck. Access to ship was very easy.

Our first trip was a cruise from Southampton docks to Portsmouth harbour. We had a splendid day with knowledgeable and friendly volunteer crew ensuring we were well-informed as well as well looked after. Highly recommended!

Set off on a Sunday from berth 110 in the docks at Southampton with nearby parking dedicated to the Shieldhall for a wonderful 8 hour relaxing trip. So smooth, and expertly guided over the loud speaker as we went past famous places on the Isle is White and Southampton like Osborne House. The crew (all volunteers) were amazing and all happy to tell you all about the wonderful old ship! And the engine room must not be missed, engineering in action is an understatement...it was more like a treasure trove of knowledge and practical applications of physics at its best.

We attended a Wake onboard . I have also been on a trip previously- which was wonderful. My only issue is with the food and drinks. I am a vegan and there was no milk alternative- for my tea and hardly anything to eat on the buffet..it would be nice to have had a sandwich option . We are here to stay 🙃 Thank you anyway for your work on the Shieldhall.

Just wanted to say a great big "Thank you" to everyone on the Shieldhall. Our son had his reception there and I couldn't fault it. The volunteers looked after us as we got on and off the ship. Everyone was friendly and helpful with the buffet and really added to the occasion. 👍

Enjoyed our afternoon cruise viewing Cruise ships etc. All the staff are wonderful and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. It was a bit choppy that day but hardly any movement could be felt. We visited the Bridge and Engine Room. Wholly recommend!

Have travelled on SHIELDHALL a good number of times over the years all ways a good experience. Excellent for the Bournemouth Air show for good views of the aircraft with the sun behind you. Unfortunately my last trip had to be cancelled due to a pump failure. The first time it has happened to me. Hot and cold food available on board. Drinks coffee tea and alcoholic drinks. Men and women's toilets. Seating outside and inside, lots of things to see on board. Very stable ship. Good for taking photos .cruise ships ect.

An absolutely delightful day, sailing from Southampton to Portsmouth Docks on the Steam Ship Sheildhall. Vessel delightful, staff and volunteers professional - helpful and proud to be there. The organisation of the Shieldhall is run like clockwork, no hitches whatsoever. The cruise was well planned, with thorough, articulate narration throughout. Thank you very much to all.

This is an amazing experience to have done. The ship is so interesting. The staff are all volunteers they look after this ship because of their love for it, they are all super helpful and ready to answer any questions you are bound to have. It is fully restored and is the only running steam ship of its kind. There is so much to see. You can pretty much explore any part of the ship including the engine room which gets pretty hot. There are lots of links to the Titanic which if this is of interest to you is very much worth a visit. There is a gift shop aboard, and a cafe selling hot and cold food and drinks. Both shops have something for everyone and are very reasonably priced. It's very much worth a visit worth every penny.

Amazing trip to see the Round the Island (Isle of Wight) Yacht Race. Great day out. Good variety of hot & cold snacks sold on board along with hot & cold drinks. Interesting tour of both the engine room & the wheel house. Tickets were worth every penny.

Always a great place to go and listen to great music. As a place to go for just a drink then there are a lot better places. This is a live music venue hosting from big names to tribute bands. Even the tribute bands are top class musicians. I have been there several times. The last time was to see an American rock/blues musician called Samantha Fish. This place can get packed out and it is best to get there early to get a good place to see the stage. Although you're not that far away from it where ever you sit or stand.

Love this place. Great venue, great atmosphere, pretty good prices and easy to get to. Never had a bad experience or bad night here 👍

Love this place. If you enjoy tribute bands and on occasion the real thing, then this is the place to go. I've never personally had a bad night here. Highly recommend 👌🏼

One of the best local venues for tribute bands. Reasonable priced drinks, easy parking on the adjacent industrial estate. A wide variety of acts.

A good venue. A real strong point is the layout - it's quite wide rather than long and set up so you get a great view from almost everywhere. Nice long bar with lots of staff serving so there's no long waits for beer.

Good venue, went to see Easy Life. Great band, and great lighting crew. The bar staff were also very friendly and the atmosphere is really nice there.

My fav local venue to play. Always treated well and looked after, and audiences are super game. So glad that places like The Brook can still exist and thrive. Long may they continue to do so! 🤘🏼

Went to see Hayseed Dixie and the venue is fantastic. Easy to park & get in. Bar service was acceptable given how busy it was and toilets clean. No matter where you stand there is a clear view of the stage and acoustics were perfect for the gig.

First time Visiting. Went to see the Foo forgers last night. Couple of things stopping it being the perfect night. First off we sat upstairs on the balcony. I need to sit as have a knee injury. We sat on the corner at the front of the balcony. But we had a group of loud people stood right behind us. They where so close they kept spilling drinks on me and bumping into me when they where dancing. Second of all, the ladies toilets upstairs. 2 of them where blocked so when you flushed the basin would fill with water and I was worried it was going to spill over. Thirdly. What is the deal with the drinks. My mate was going to the bar as I can't stand for long due to my knee. But everytime he came back he said the prices where different each time. The first time he went to get a double wiskey and lemonade and a coke and it came to just under £8 (which was really reasonable) Then the next time he got the same round it came to £11.10??? And then later it was £10.40? And last of all. The warm up act before the Foo Forgers came on where brilliant. Not hitting every note but over all really good and a great vibe. The Foo Forgers where good. The band was amazing but the singer left something to be desired. Not sure I would see that specific tribute band again. But over all a good night. Plenty of free parking in the industrial estate next door (I wasn't drinking so drove). Tickets where easy to show on my phone and they scanned them. It was quite busy in the end so if you want a seat get there early! Over all a real mix of people in there old and young. A nice atmosphere over all. Staff seemed friendly enough and the bar staff collected drinks quick so no tiny tables filled with empty glasses. Would go again.

A great venue that supports live local music, the stage is a good size as is the audience section, able to house quite a few people but still feels intimate. Pints were not much more expensive than a Spoons or some other cheaper pubs, great for students. Recently listened to butterfly collective there and it was a brilliant night out. The outside section closes earlier than the entire pub, that is not a complaint though, just something to keep in mind if you like sitting on outside pub benches at night.

This is a superb venue. Southamptons premier music venue for live bands. A real Gem. We've been here a couple of times and its brilliant quick service and friendly staff. We saw the excellent Secret Affair and the equally superb Squire.

Fella in the box office went above and beyond to help get me two returned tickets for the Starsailor gig. So helpful and nothing was too much trouble. All the staff here are great. Love this venue.

I went to The Brook for a wedding reception, it was amazing! The Linkin Park tribute band playing were great performers. The staff were very friendly and there was a good amount of seating available. You could also get free earbuds from both bars if the band is too loud.

Another amazing experience at The Brook, this time to see the glorious Passenger. The venue never fails to impress, and it was an amazing location for such a stunning performance. Thank you to both Vinilo and The Brook for putting it on.

Nice venue to go for more relaxed concerts, lots of seating and they even do pies. Not really the place if you want to mosh though.

It is a nice calm and quiet place to go walking on a pier side with a marvelous view of some cruise and ferry ships. There are plenty of parking spaces which you can enjoy all the scenery of water and sky while seating. It's really a good place to relax. I often come here in the afternoon to enjoy the sea and the sunshine, in the afternoon. You won't feel tired. There are ice cream trucks, children's playgrounds, swings, basketball courts, large lawns and seats facing the sea, suitable for people of all kinds to come and play here. When night comes, you will find that the park has become another look. You will be shocked by such a nice beautiful scenery. If you have a car, you can drive directly to the park, there is a parking space , you can park facing the sea, and enjoy such a beautiful view in the car without being blown by the cold sea breeze. Remember to check the weather condition before coming to the park as it can be very windy and cold in bad weather. This is a perfect park for a date and relaxation in the evening.

It is a nice and quiet place to go walking on a pier side with a marvelous view of some cruise and ferry ships. There are plenty of parking spaces which you can enjoy all the scenery of water and sky while seating in the car. Also, it has a massive area for picnic and a safe haven of children's playground. There's a basketball court too.

Used to have a lovely kids park. It’s now gone and all roped off. No idea what they are doing to this space. The ice cream van man is nice and is cheap.

The park could be much better. A lot of rubbish (because of some impolite people). A lot of areas are closed, no clear why. The sea side walk could be much better, but there just few beaches and the area is totally abandoned. The basket playground need to be requalified. A lot of work need to be done there. Could be a fantastic place.

The park itself is just a patch of grass, but you get some lovely views of the sea and cruise ships like the Queen Mary 2nd and some historic buildings, now a curry house.

What can one say, I went with low expectations and wasn't disappointed. Avoid like the plague. 0* from me. What an absolute dump that the council has the nerve to charge you to park. The green is completely fenced off so the only place to walk is the carpark which overlooks the dilapidated Royal Pier. We didn't bother stopping and went elsewhere, however as with nearly all public spaces in Southampton, that too was run down with lots of rubbish. Passengers getting off a cruise ship must think they've ended up in Beirut.
