We had a lovely afternoon visiting this place. We booked in advance just to avoid the queue but it wasn't very busy, although we did visit on a Thursday. There was a guide in every room that gave details about where we were and was happy to answer any questions. The gift shop is amazing, it's impossible to leave without buying something. There's a lovely garden with benches and toilets. We parked at Bridgeway Multi Storey car park which is approx 8 min walk from the place. The surrounding areas are also lovely.

We had a very lovely day out visiting Stratford-upon-Avon😊 Shakespeare's Birthplace was at the top of our priority list, and we were not disappointed because there was so much history! It was a highly interesting experience. The staff inside the house were also really dedicated and it was obvious they were educated about the place🙂 Thank you for the enjoyable time❤️ PS: One of my photos shows Shakespeare's grave, which is only around 10-15 minutes walking distance from his birthplace if you would like to visit that too!!

It was very beautiful place to visit. If you are fan of Shakespeare and his works it’s a must visit place for you. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. Tickets were little bit expensive but still it’s worth it. The toilets were clean. The gift shop has a lot of stuff to buy and explore. The surrounding have a lot of stores for souvenirs and other things. Really beautiful place to explore. I highly recommend it.

Wonderful place to relax, aisle full of restaurants, cafes, character actors, and cute shops. The nearby canal adds to the beauty further with beautiful swans, cute bridges, and wonderful parks for the kids to play and relax. Also, an eye in close proximity for more fun. It is a beautiful place to be around on weekends, with a great marketplace nearby offering a wonderful variety of food. Highly recommended.

Stratford upon Avon a lovely place to visit, nice town, restaurants and plenty of places of interest. Shakespeare's Birthplace worth a visit especially if enjoy history and English literature. Spent about 45 minutes here a little over priced but helps with the upkeep.

I had a really good time and felt like I taken I step back in history. This is really good value for money and the house itself is beautiful. I enjoyed seeing the different versions of Shakespeare’s through the artwork that was done. I found the whole experience really interesting and would go back again any time. The staff and the actors are on hand to make sure that your experience of the day is memorable. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Thank you so much for a lovely experience and can’t wait to come back.

Nice place to visit and a significant piece of history that is well worth your time if you're visiting Stratford-upon-Avon. The house itself is not very big and just has a few rooms to see but it's filled with lots of history. Just to be able to walk in the footsteps of the great William Shakespeare was a treat. Considering the high price of the ticket for the visit of this house only, I would recommend getting the Shakespeare's Story ticket that will give you access to three of Shakespeare's family homes.

If the historical records are correct, this place is where WS was born. The exhibition centre at the ticket office is a bit moderate,but the house itself has some characteristics. The staff gave us a good talk about the history of the house and WS's family.

So good experience. Very nice and historical place. You can go and spend whole day in town. So many others things to do near by town. Go on Tuesday and Wednesday, you will get to see local markets. Good views and nice place for capturing movements. Must go place.

Good for the tourists, but was he really born here... probably not... considering that his name is even incorrect and he was most likely stoned when he wrote his best works, can you really take any of this seriously...?! Nice enough building and "experience ", but very expensive imo... Also, the 80's centre built around the cottage is obscene, hopefully the architect never got another job after designing that monstrosity...

Lovely town with lots of fine ancient buildings. Many, many tourists perambulating in groups with guides, if you want a quieter experience probably best to go off season. The RSC park is delightful with drama students putting in lots of outdoor plays. The riverside space is beautiful.

Amazing place with lots of history, feels so special visiting the place where William Shakespeare is buried! Whe whole world studies him and his plays are known globally so being there in person is a special feeling... A must if you're in the area!!

We visited as my daughter loves Shakespeare. The first part is a display of items about Shakespeare and the time he was born. The gardens are beautiful. The house is very small, we got round everything in under 40 mins. If you are a true fan it's worth a visit. I do feel however that the ticket price is very expensive for what it is. To visit just the birthplace it would have been nearly £50 for a family of 4. We did get the tickets that allowed us to return and go to another two Shakespeare attractions however when we visited we didn't have the time to go to the others and as it was a 4 hour round trip so I doubt we will use the return tickets.

I was dreaming to visit this place for ages, since I learned English at school in Ukraine 20 years ago. It's definitely a "must" place. There is a small museum before you enter the house itself. It's a very atmosphere place, staff is very friendly and gives a lot of information. Also there was a small Romeo and Juliette show. The bookstore is also nice.

So much history and information. Guides very helpful and friendly. Lots to see. Easy to get around. Gardens were beautiful.

If you enjoy history as much as I do, Shakespeare's Birth Place is well worth the visit. I found it much more informative listening to the recordings by scanning in the QR codes as I went along. The indoor / outdoor theatre was lovely, very entertaining. There was audience participation which is always a blast. Lots of laughs. The gift shop caters for everyone, and their prices were very reasonable. So next time you find yourself in Stratford-upon-Avon, this is a must, although, you should give yourself at least 90 minutes.

It’s a very nice place to visit. Tour guides are placed nicely and each of them is very kind and patiently. Ask them questions about the building and the history, you will be very satisfied with their answers.

Really interesting! A bit busy inside, even on a weekday in April. You will need a baby carrier as upstairs is not accessible for pushchairs. Beautiful gardens.

Fascinating property, located on a pedestrian only street, with attached Museum, garden and shop. An absolute must for lovers of history and Shakespeare in particular. Knowledgeable and friendly room guides who are more than happy to explain every detail of the artifacts on display. Toilets located in the gardens, and a very well stocked shop. Definitely recommended.

A really quaint little village where Shakespeare was born. The house he grew up in has been renovated and is now a museum of sorts. Obviously the whole village has drawn tons of exposure due to Shakespeare. But the city has kept it relatively small and very clean from all the tourists. Overall, a great place to visit when in the area

An incredible experience in the house where William Shakespeare was born and raised. It's not a museum, so don't expect objects that belonged to the Shakespeare family, but utensils, tools and replicas that aim to give you an idea of what the family could have had and may have had (information obtained from inventories and historical data from the period). In particular, I found the visit exciting, imagining little Shakespeare running around the house, creating his rich imaginative world, sitting at the kitchen table eating pudding or watching his father selling gloves from the living room window, his mother picking herbs in the garden. At the end of the visit, you can buy souvenirs in the shop, which has an excellent selection of products, especially works by and about Shakespeare. The staff are extremely kind and helpful.

Place was really nice. People inside the birthplace was really nice and explained about the furnitures in the room also the relevance of the other things in the house. Shakespeare’s story and people in his life and career explained clearly through a time line. Loved tge vibe on the street.

Come on, this house is from 14th hundreds. It was more than a hundred years old when Shakespeare’s family moved in. You can touch the beams, the walls, the floors that the poet walked and played on as a child. Such a great experience. We’re so lucky to live in this age when the house is still existing.

Shakespeare and English literature goes hand in hand. This is a must visit site if visiting England 2hr stopover is enough to visit Shakespeare home and see around town. It is remarkable how Shakespeare House is still maintained to the highest standard even after 500 years whilst many new build looks like they will not last 20 years. Victorian houses speaks quality. There is a nice shop to buy Shakespeare related good.

Had lunch here for Mothering Sunday - first time visit. Really impressed with the service, the food, the view, the acoustics of the place, the seating and comfy chairs, the drinks menu and the climate in the dining area. Everything is geared towards a great experience. 10% tip is charged and I have no problems with that. Will be back.

Our server, Tom, was very friendly and supportive. A credit to the RSC restaurant. He answered all our queries about the food, it was service with a smile all the time. He made our visit very enjoyable. We had 3 courses, not usual for us, and found the portions just right. The food was excellent. A very good dining experience.

Only at the RSC for a meal, excellent food and very fast service. 1 x 2 course(£29) and 1 x 3 course(£31),plus bottle of merlot(£24). £94 including standard service charge. Well worth it.

We were early for our reservation but our party of five was accommodated at a fabulous table looking out over the river. The food was excellent and catered well for the vegan who was one of our group. The atmosphere was relaxed - we spent a comfortable three hours over our meal - and the service was courteous and efficient. We had a lovely meal and a first rate experience.

I was pleased that despite needing a gluten free meal, there was plenty of choice available on the menu and that dishes could be adapted to meet my needs. Our waitress was very helpful. We always enjoy dining here and do so, even if we're not going to a performance.

Location at the top of the theatre has great views. The lunch time set menu was excellent value with a great range of options including dairy and gluten free. Starters included salmon bruschetta with a gluten free alternative and spicy pakoras. Main course of cod was beautifully cooked and vegetables and potatoes delicious.

Despite the performance being cancelled, it was great to be able to eat in the restaurant. The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, really tasty and served quickly and was hot. We will definitely be back.

We returned to the restaurant for special occasion as previous visit was exceptional, however, we were sitted in a hidden corner even though there were plenty of empty tables. Food was below average, very disappointing, nothing special. The bread that was served with the soup was not fresh. The soup OK, but nothing special. Desert cutlery was placed on the table without napkins, which is also unhygienic. My coffee cup was chipped. The desert did not taste fresh, some was very dry. Overall we were very disappointed today considering the location and high price, which we don't mind to pay, but today was not worth it. We won't be back.

Me and my mum have an annual trip to Stratford upon Avon, we always book a table here, and we've never been disappointed. Beautiful, well portioned and delicious food and the staff are always so friendly, knowledgeable and polite. We order from the pre-theatre set menu which is reasonably priced considering the standard of the food. Can't wait to come back.

We love this restaurant. The setting is a wonderful fusion of new and old. The staff are so lovely and attentive. The food is excellent. Prices reasonable. A perfect pre theatre meal. But would be good as a destination even if you’re not going to one of the amazing shows.

Dropped off at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage from the ‘open top’ Stratford Upon Avon Tourist bus. We were on the first of the morning @ 10:00am from the Tourist Information Centre. Visited on a truly lovely 😎 weather day (Tuesday in May) it was quiet. No queuing, pleasant and very informative guides. Pleasant garden strut. Picked up return bus 🚌 one hour later ✅

Lovely gardens and areas to walk with interesting sculptures. The house is interesting and is the best of the 3 Shakespeares Birthplace properties. There’s a car park just along the road, not too expensive. Nice shop, friendly staff / volunteers.

Wonderful historic cottage, set amongst well kept gardens with an orchard and sculpture trail. Inside, the cottage is presented as it would have been when Anne Hathaway lived there, and includes original furniture. The staff were very knowledgeable and explained the history of the cottage, pointing out notable features. On-site parking is available, along with a café, gift shop and toilets. Dogs are allowed in the gardens but not the cottage itself. At the time of my visit entry was £14.50, but I'd highly recommend the "Shakespeare's Story" ticket that also includes Shakespeare's Birthplace and New Place - good value at £25 for all three attractions. Check the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust website for up to date prices and opening times as the cottage closes over winter.

This was so beautiful. A bit tricky to find in the village of Shottery but worth it! We were warned when we got there that there’s uneven floors and tricky steps. Gardens are beautiful. The guides were so informative and interesting. I loved hearing their stories. It is small and only a few at a time to enter. This place was my favourite out of the 3 Shakespeare sights.

Beautiful setting, rich history, and education for all. Staff, in particular, are amazing to narrate the history of the house, living, and activities of that era. I think we made the right choice to visit Anne's home (vs the other two places). The car park is 100meter away.

What a great experience seeing the family home of William Shakespeares wife. It is so well looked after and near to how it was when she lived there. Its has 12 rooms in total, 10 of which are open to the public. There is a nice little place to get a drink and snack, public toilets, small gift and parking.

The staff were fantastic. The cottage isn't that big but the staff make the visit in the cottage last. There are original contents present. The gardens are beautiful and the orchard walks are well worth a visit. You can see the bees and hives and then but the honey in the shop. The cottage is within walking distance of Stratford centre but it may be a challenge for little ones and those with mobility issues. There's a car park close to the cottage. Definitely recommend a visit. Of the Shakespeare trust properties this is my personal favourite.

This place is well maintained. This is quite far from Shakespeare’s birth place. Either you must wait for a public transport or you can drive here. There is an orchard here, I don’t know what they grow But it is better to Visit this place when the summer starts. There is a guide in this place every step of the way you can ask a lot Of questions to them and they will explain everything they know. However, each guide has a time limit as they must attend to on coming new visitors. If there are no visitors then they will try and elaborate things. There is a shop to purchase merchandise if you wish to buy. There is a wheel chair accessible entrance and a parking.

Beautiful place and fascinating history. We got there at opening time so not too busy.

I prefer visiting this cottage to Shakespeare's family home in Henley street, in the summertime. This is for several reasons .The queues are much shorter. Easy parking.Interior furniture is similar.The garden was the ' pharmacy'. The well at the front door supplied a micro brewery for the family and their farm workers. There is an orchard and it is easy to see where livestock would have been grazed, crops and herbs grown. The kitchen has a bread oven.Many interesting artifacts. Well kept house and gardens. Gift shop too. Very photogenic. Staff are friendly and helpful every time I visit.

Brilliant experience to see Anne Hathaway's family's cottage, where we assume she and Shakespeare courted. Beautifully preserved, maintained and display of memorabilia. I particularly enjoyed the grounds, including the sculpture trail. It gets very busy but it's managed very well so that coach trips are staggered so you're not inundated. We didn't book, but I would probably advise doing so to be on the safe side, particularly as it becomes more summery!

What a lovely little cottage! Before going to see the actual cottage, we got to explore the grounds and see the sculpture trail. There were also apple trees along the path which were full of apples! As we made our way to the cottage, a lovely guide greeted us and gave us an overview of the cottage and it was informative and interesting. Inside, we met another guide who was so funny and sweet, telling us about the parlour. Upstairs, we met another guide who explained the different bedrooms and she left us to explore and as we made our way back down, she greeted us again at the kitchen and taught us the origins of some English phrases (won’t spoil it). Had a great time exploring the cottage but the guides are the real attraction here! A must go!

Beautiful cottage, so ancient. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable. To think some of the furniture was hundreds of years old. The garden and orchard were lovely, we sat and enjoyed our coffee ☕️ and locally made cookie in the dappled shade. Plenty of space in the car park, £2 . Well worth getting the joint saver ticket 🎟

Perfect place to spend a couple of hours enjoying the architecture from the 1500s and delve deeper into Shakespeare’s and Anne’s story. The staff was brilliant! Loved the way they shared the stories about Shakespeare, Anne Hathaway and her family. Get yourself a cup of hot chocolate and enjoy it in the lush gardens surrounding the house.

Wow! Amazing! Beautifully maintained. Super informative and helpful staff. Love they have staff in various rooms explaining the contents and history. So many furnishings actually belonged to the family. Enjoyed walking among the apple trees. Excellent gift shop. Will go again.

This is a real cottage where Shakespeare's wife was born. It has survived! You can see how farmers lived that time. Around the cottage there's a nice garden. It's new, but pleasant. The staff are friendly. They are ready to give you some information. There's a gift shop, a tiny coffee shop and toilet. It takes about 20-30 minutes to walk to the cottage from the town centre or you can get there one the 'Hop on/of Tour Bus'. The regular public transport rides there only couple times a day. Enjoy your time 🪁🪅

A lovely well kept snapshot of history. We visited via the hop on hop off bus, once arriving we were welcomed by the pleasant staff and we used our ticket from the previous day where we paid £25 for the three Shakespeare venues, the birthplace, new place and Anne Hathaways cottage. This made it exceptional value. The gardens were immaculate and sculptures fantastic and showing quotes from Shakespeare's plays. Inside is a time machine to days gone by beautifully presented with very informative guides throughout to give you facts on each room as you enter. A lovely place to visit highly recommended.

It's really the staff that make the experience. I spoke with a man named Richard (I think - tried to clock his name tag) and a lady (whose name I didn't get). Both were very knowledgeable and a delight to talk to. The truth is, if you're a history nerd like me, these places can become repetitive and boring and merge into one and, without the staff, I can see how that would apply to this and the other of the Trust's sites. But definitely stick around, listen, ask questions etc. It's rare for me to want to revisit a historical site after I've been but I would absolutely return to the Trust's sites just to speak to different staff members again. Its clear they have genuine interest in what they do and are all so polite and welcoming!

We actually only looked at the house from the street but it was enough for me. A beautiful Tudor house and stunning gardens. We paid for my daughter to visit all three of the shakespeare sites and as she was a student it only cost £20 however it would have cost £26 each for me and my husband which was a cost I was not prepared to pay (on top of theatre tickets, overnight stay etc) I know the tickets would be valid for a year but we are not likely to visit Stratford again for a while. Loved our stay in Stratford, it's a beautiful town with very friendly people.

Wonderful experience. There are so many butterflies and they put out food for them so you can see them really up close. The whole environment is magical and they even land on you! My girls absolutely loved it. They also have a section with other insects etc. The ants were incredible as they have them walking across open exposed ropes. Very warm inside but there is a free clock room to leave your coat which I recommend! It is quite small so not a long visit but definitely memorable

Absolutely beautiful! 10/10. This place has SO much to offer. Ants carrying leaves above your head on a rope, stunning butterflies flying around your head, exotic creatures - birds and bugs, etc. We saw some unbelievable butterflies here and there were so many! An hour and a half to two hours is probably needed here, such good value for money too! Wonderful place and would happily visit again in future! Thank you xxx

If you love butterfly this is the ideal place for you! There are many different species to see. From the moment I stepped inside I was greeted by all the different coloured butterflies flattering around me. As you walk through there's a scene of peace and tranquility with the sound of waterfalls. There are benches you could sit and watching the butterflies fly around which was really relaxing. There are also a number of small insects and reptiles to see too. I think it's worth the entrance fee which is less than £10.00. Overall I would recommend visiting Stratford butterfly farm it's ideal for all ages. My advice would be to go early so it tends to get busy.

Really interesting visit, loads of butterflies obviously, also birds, leaf cutter ants (fascinating) and iguanas, some butterflies do land on you 😊 just need to be careful walking around as they can be on the path. Went with my husband and we both really enjoyed it. We went during the week and it was reasonably quiet.

Absolutely loved this place…. Staff were super friendly…. The entrance price was reasonable at £7.95 each. And the butterflies were everywhere all shapes and sizes and colours from the moment you step through the door your mouth drops to the floor and the smiles…everyone was smiling such a great atmosphere and yes it’s a good place to do educational things too and it’s not just butterflies there’s iguanas and ants and various other creepy crawlies…. You need to take your time and stand still and just take it in… it’s definitely a must go don’t hesitate….

Really lovely place. Visited during weekday/ term time, so not busy. Plenty of time to stand and watch all the butterflies. Some excellent specimens. Very warm inside, obviously, so light clothing is best. Very interesting and could recommend.

Such a great place. Wide variety of butterflies, plentiful and a joy to see up close. They have an area with insects and a pond with lots of koi fish. Gift shop on site. No cafe or restaurant but it is within walking distance to many eateries. Lovely location.

First time visiting and what a fantastic day out! We arrived just after lunch, parking next door . The butterfly farm is well sign posted and as soon as you walk through the gates you'll travel down a flowered path to the entrance. Staff were very polite and friendly ! The main attraction is staffed with experts answering questions, the main area is just past the pupue viewing window. It's awesome inside!, bring your camera and wear bright clothing if you want to be a butterfly magnet! The path ways are nicely laid out with a few hidden creatures and a real dragon upon the archway ( keep a look out) our child was amazed and loved every minute. Benches are situated around if you need a sit down as you can walk around multiple times. The creepy crawlies out house where there are other reptiles and creatures was immaculate, each enclosure was well maintained. Definitely will be back to visit again! Yes it's pretty warm inside so be prepared as it's needed to keep the creatures happy!

Absolutely enchanting place! Wonderful romantic event for a couple or a fun thing to do with children. The butterflies are magical and everywhere. Lots of educational information, but also just fantastic plantings and amazing butterflies flitting all around you as you move through the space. There is a resident iguana to look for, keep your eyes peeled (sometimes look up). It's a lovely, easy walk across the bridge from the downtown area. Take a stroll before or after along the nature trail, it makes for a wonderful day!

We four oldies really enjoyed the place against our expectations. There are some beautiful butterflies flying freely all around you, some even landed on us. Then there's a section with some other interesting creatures.

Absolutely gorgeous place with so many butterflies species (some of them very well camouflaged). You will also be able to find different animals like snakes, turtles, tarantulas or even a crocodile! If you have the chance to also explore Stratford, I highly recommend it. It's very nice during Christmas.

Had a lovely relaxing time. The range of amazing beautiful butterfly’s is amazing. They are all around you and occasionally land on you. Absolutely stunning and for me I sat down on a bench and was totally relaxed which is very rare for me. Would love to go here everyday for relaxation during a lunch break! The temperature is warm, about 27C, so don’t wear a jumper!

Had a great time at the Stratford Butterfly Farm. So many butterflies around and a few other animals to see too. As well as being fun to walk around and see all the butterflies it's educational too! Some of the butterflies like to land on you too creating great photo opportunities. Plus...it's very warm on winter days!

From the moment you step inside, you'll be transported into a tropical wonderland filled with stunning butterflies fluttering around you. The first thing that struck me about the butterfly farm was how well-maintained it was. The staff clearly take great pride in their work, and the enclosures are spotlessly clean and well-designed to ensure the butterflies have plenty of space to fly around and thrive. As you wander through the butterfly house, you'll encounter a vast array of butterfly species from all over the world, each one more beautiful than the last. Overall, I can't recommend the Stratford Butterfly Farm highly enough. Whether you're a nature lover or just looking for a unique and memorable day out, this place is sure to leave you feeling enchanted and inspired.

This place was incredible, a lot more to it than expected, really pretty inside and out and definitely worth every penny! Location was perfect, just cross the bridge and walk straight past the big wheel and you're there. Not only were there hundreds of beautiful butterflies but there was also a minibeast and tropical area, a pond filled with koi fish and 2 free reign iguanas (signs tell you to watch out for poop from above! 😂) The staff were friendly, toilets were clean, it was educational, really quiet (at 4.30pm on a Tuesday) and the gift shop was very nice, full of toys and a fridge with cold drinks 😊

I paid £7.95 to visit the Stratford Butterfly Farm and it is well worth it. You enter another world with so many exotic butterflies to admire. There is also good information about the butterflies on entrance. I absolutely loved it and I would imagine children would love it also. I would recommend an hour to go round depending on how long you are prepared to wait and see the butterflies rest. There is also a souvenir shop at the end.

A wonderful place to spend 1h with your family ! The greenhouse rainforest is gorgeously laid out; butterflies abound and they fly so close to you - most likely, one or two will even land on you... Their insects and other animals are equally as impressive ! Well worth the trip. It really adds value to an already superb Stratford.

We visited today with our 3 year old daughter and we had a great time! Loads of different species of butterfly who are not at all shy and extremely beautiful!! 🦋 and many other things to see! We especially enjoyed watching the leaf cutter ants 🐜 as they made their way around the farm on various ropes!! The Koi pond was lovely (remember to buy food when paying) and the Mini beast area was a great unexpected addition! Great gift shop as you exit to pick up some treats! 👌🏻 Would definitely recommend for any age!

Well worth a visit - tropical greenhouses with hundreds of butterflies roaming around to interact with. There's also a section for mini beasts and reptiles. We spent around an hour here looking at everything, lots of great photo opportunities.

Great place to visit especially with children. We have been here multiple times over the years and keep coming back. Packed with butterflies, fish and reptiles. Leave extra clothing outside as it is tropical inside. It does get busy on weekends so weekdays are ideal to enjoy at peace.

Beautiful place to visit. The butterflies will land on you if you're lucky so just be mindful and not panic. Very humid but the boy's really enjoyed it!

An amazing array of butterflies, including the exquisite glass-winged butterfly. There are also bearded lizards to look out for and informative areas for children to learn a great deal. The little beasts section is very interesting, and the leaf cutter ants are fascinating to watch as the march along ropes hanging above your head. The curio shop is lovely.

When I first visited I grabbed a leaflet and planned the day ahead. (It’s not essential). I visited with my Service User and Colleague, the staff was very friendly and understanding to all our questions. It’s very Humid so I would recommend wear summer clothes inside as it is tropical temperatures. I didn’t get the memo 😂 and was sweating.(That’s my fault). After sometime a staff name KATE was such a lovely individual who answered all of my questions and very patient. She was so knowledgeable about the animals and mini beasts that are at the Butterfly farm, thank you so much for making our visit more enjoyable! I would definitely Recommend for everyone to visit especially for both boys and girls. Disabled Access and toilets as well as eating area is available.

Really enjoyed it, really pretty and full of butterflies. I also really enjoyed their small amphib/reptile/invert section! It was pretty small but I'd been warned of this from their website so it wasn't a problem for me. Spent time sat identifying butterflies with a combo of the £1 ID guide and Google lens, which bolstered the time spent.

We had a great time with our 4 year old child. So fun and educating the same time. Easy to access from the car park just across the street

Gorgeous church. Entry here is free. They have stained glass windows that are absolutely gorgeous and a beautiful cemetery outdoors. It houses the graves of William Shakespeare, his wife Anne Hathaway and 3 more relatives

Very friendly staff and interesting building. The resting place of Shakespeare, his wife and children. The photo is a sanctuary knocker. So if someone perhaps fleeing a potential lynching needed help. As long as they could track the knocker, they would be safe. Very good experience. Thank you.

William Shakespeare is buried here, along with several relatives. The walk to the Church is pleasant, as its located near a park and path to the Church is tree lined. The inside of the church is beautiful. The nearby Garden Of Remembrance nearby is also worth a visit.

Stunning looking church from the inside and outside. Very well kept and preserved. Free to enter, donations welcome. The staff here are very welcoming and informative. The grave of William Shakespeare is here at the end of the church inside.

An extremely beautiful church it is beautiful to look around it and how they had the grave of Shakespeare and his family marked off was very well fitting. It is quite calming church to go to and really makes you feel like your have taken a step back in time with history. The only downside was I felt there was to much pressure on donating to be inside the church and to see Shakespeares grave with a man with a card machine waiting at the entrances to the area where his grave was. Overall I would say 4 stars as it is very in keeping with the times and it is beautiful church to go. Would love to go back here and see a service being done.

What a beautiful historic church which is the burial site of William Shakespeare and members of his family. The church itself is magnificent with beautiful architecture down to the smallest details. The peaceful atmosphere is amazing! With alot of history involved aswell. Payment is involved to view the burial site and any further donations can be made to help with the upkeep of the church.

Paid a visit during the week, was a beautiful place, we paid the donation to go through and see everything. The thing that I was amazed by, the stain glass windows, I could have sat for hours and gazed into them! Fantastic place to visit and have a look around. Nice staff working there and a little gift shop! Definitely recommend!

A gorgeous church and the final resting place of William Shakespeare and his family. It was £4 each to enter the space to view Shakespeares grave. It was a very peaceful space, benches lined the entrance if you wanted to sit and take it all in. Really easily accessible from town, maybe a 10 minute mostly flat walk up to the church.

Trinity is where Shakespeare was baptised and buried. It is an active church that works hard to honor the history of the town, uphold the legacy of its most famous parishioner, and accommodate the throngs of daily tourists. The church employees are extraordinarily knowledgeable and are able to answer most any question. Be sure to take a walk around the grounds. The side overseeing the Avon is perhaps one of the most peaceful views on Earth. Take a few minutes to sit, breathe, and contemplate the beauty of nature and life.

Fantastic place to visit on your own, friends, family. Great display of mechanical things mostly made of wood or metal. Lots of funny things but also at least one gory (military bunnies, one of them exploding) so bare it in mind if your child is sensitive to that content. Loved it, will be back :)

We really enjoyed our visit! I visited with my 6 and 3 year olds and they both loved it. The contraptions are captivating - I could have spent all day watching some of them - and the kids got to set them off with little motion sensors around the place. There's also a little play/interactive area at the back with a marble run, a tilt maze and a cog game to play with. We were there during the school holidays and the place was rammed so probably best visited in term time if you can. The staff were all lovely and the gift shop has some amazing bits and pieces in it if you are looking for something a bit different for a present.

Small but delightful museum in the middle of Stratford, just a few minutes walk from Shakespeare's house. We spent a good two hours there (our kids were 10 and 9 at the time of visit). It was fascinating watching all the mechanical sculptures (some of them are basically fancy, complicated and very clever marble runs) and then spending some time building our own marble runs on the wall and then on the table. The ones on the table are quite mind-blowing, make sure you spend enough time to figure them out! :) To be honest, watching other parents and knowing myself, I wasn't sure who had more fun: the kids or the grownups? :)

A freind recommended a visit. At first missed it as the entrance blended in with other shops. On first appearance on entry, it seemed small. But it was amazing and fun with interactive displays and an interesting cinema on other quirky designs. Overall spent just under 2hrs there. If had children, probably would have been there 3 hrs. Great for little ones too, with a big interactive play wall to create their own marble run. £7.80 adult fee to enter. We visited in a weekday which was quiet

Excellent museum for young kids, there's lots of clockwork artwork, marble machines, rube-Goldberg machines. It's not too expensive, kids will be able to spend a good hour or two here. There's a free play area where you can use the metal wall to construct marble tracks, gears, etc. There's also a small cinema, and a gift shop. Highly recommended.

It is fascinating I stood and watched some of the exhibits, mesmerised y their simple intricacies. I was very lucky, a group of 5-6 year old school kids were leaving as I arrived so had the exhibits more or less to myself. Great fun.

We went over the easter holidays, no booking and no wait to get in. Very small museum, blink and you'd miss it if you weren't looking for it. We all enjoyed looking at the exhibits, adults and children. Tiny cinema inside which was good. Small gift shop at the end.

My 6 year old could have spent all day there... one of the best bits is before you even get inside, halfway up the stairs (huge makeshift marble run). On the interactive scale, this is one of the best places we've been. I just wish it was bigger!

Good place to bring the kids and spend maybe one hour to entertain them with the wonders of mechanics. The museum is quite interesting, but small. I gave them 4 stars because I asked the receptionist how big is the museum and he told me that is the whole floor, rven behind of some area that I couldn't see from reception... the reality is that there is no other large space, that's pretty much that you can see there. Is beautiful, is interesting, great for kids. Ideal to buy family tickets as would be a bit cheaper. Overall ok and I recommend them, there are different and interactive from the normal average museum.

Fun and interesting place to visit. Loads of models that you pop into action by waving your hand over the sensor. Some cool (and mad) inventions. Price for entry is decent, £8.80 for Adult (April 2023) cannot prebook this attraction, just walk up and pay. No wait for entry and not a huge place but if you visit, do spend time to look at all models.

We went as a big group of 26 for my 40th birthday. Most of us said it was the best museum we had ever been to and so much fun. This museum is also, I think one of the smallest museums I have ever seen but that doesn't really change anything, it's still brilliant and kids love it as they don't have to walk far. There is so much to see and nearly everything is interactive so it's great fun for all ages. So glad I came here and totally worth the money. Definitely 1 hour long. It is all on the first floor as there is stairs to climb. The reception is very lovely and gave me all the information I needed. The shop is great and prices range from just 50p so everyone can afford something to take away to remember the place. It's really easy to find as it's on their high street. I would definitely come again if we are in Stratford upon Avon.

Took 3 kids here, it's fantastic. So interesting and fascinating to watch and wonder how the exhibits are made. The kids loved it and enjoyed the area where they could have a go with marbles themselves. Highly recommended 😀

It’s a small but amazingly playful museum. It’s dedicated to display mechanical wooden or metal crafts. Most of them is interactive, you can push the button and watch how it functions. Some of them are just funny contemporary art. You can tell from the details, that the artists had incredible creativity and put effort of time in it. They also have a room for you build your own tracks and put a ball there to let it run. Although most of the wood trucks are wore, so there will always be gaps in between two tracks no matter what you do, the whole thing just doesn’t work very well. It’s worthy to take your kids here. They can spend a whole day here and probably without feeling bored at all. The gift shop sells some of the simpler stuff they display but I didn’t get any. Overall it’s a surprisingly good and petit museum hidden in this little town.

Nice, a good, entertaining hour for the little ones. I would say a bit overpriced but entertaining for the kids. Besides the sensor activated ones, the kids have a few hands-on displays. They can build a few marble runs.

It's an excellent place to spend time looking at exciting contraptions. It's pretty small, and apart from pressing buttons to make the devices move, there is no other interaction.

If you like mobile installations, automatons, and marble runs, it's worth visiting. When you visit Stratford-on-Avon, maybe a different subject than Shakespeare could be interesting. You can learn even the solution of chicken or egg problem, the truth, or a very special tapestry. Nice, easy, and funny cultural references for adults, buttons for kids.

Equally enthralling to adults and children the museum is full of kinetic art and automata. There is plenty to wonder at, gift shop and toilets.

Great little place to visit. Lots of small automated models. The 7 and 13 year old really liked it and we spent about an hour there. Well worth a visit if you are passing and part of another day visit. Really fun and different. And not an ipad in sight 😁

Fantastic place to take the kids. Buy a ticket for all Shakespeare's houses and you can go as many times as you like. The place is beautifully restored and has lots of people in period dress to tell you about the history. The animals are very accessible and friendly with plenty of places to wash your hands. The food in the restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced and with good veggie options. The kids particularly liked the archery and the excellent falconry display. Will definitely go again. Highly recommended.

This is an ideal place to spend half a day with kids. There lots of animals and a playground for them, plus lots of great historical sites and information for kids and adults. It is included on the multi site Shakespeare tickets. Those tickets last for a year so are a great value. There is an adequate cafeteria. There are lots of activities and tours.

This is an excellent place to visit and with the pass for all the sites is excellent value. Really enjoyed the falconry display. Also the Tudor dinner and link betweenvTudor times and today. It was fascinating and brilliant. Chdten will really love this place. Of note it is closed from early November so check the website first.

An enthralling and unique way to learn and experience the life and times of William Shakespeare. The farm has plenty of things to see and do, from chopping wood and watching falconry to seeing the set up of a traditional Tudor household. The staff are 'in character' which adds to the fun and it is highly amusing when they balk at 'obvious witchcraft' when using phones and cameras. This is a great place to visit no matter the age.

Very educational and has beautiful gardens. Mary's house is magical and to know there was history there was amazing! John Palmers Farm was wonderfully Amazing!!! Loads of animals and walks to pass the time. Adventure area for kids. Regular shows including Archery and Falconry. Worth buying a family year pass to get into 4 other sites.

Great canal has lots of things to do when you get into Stratford and lots of places to stop and set up camp. The locks are variable some are a real test of strength and others are nice and easy! Not many places to turn around so when you are on you are on for a bit.

Brilliant place to learn more about Stratford-upon-Avon and the Tudors than just Shakespeare. Would also recommend the guided walk; I learnt more about Shakespeare, the language and the time than from my school lessons!

Is fab and informative I visited with a group of mature international students, we had a blast! Haven't been inside yet. But passed what was the Falstaff Experience over the years on Sheep Street. Now Tudor World. Last time only got as far as the courtyard, but little time to go inside, and beforehand wasn't sure if you had to book a timeslot online or not. Sounds like you don't have to. Next time easier when going by train, than by car.

Small but packed full of interesting information. Lots of hands on interactive items and a spy trail for younger children. It only took us around 30 minutes in total but as it wasn't too expensive it was probably still reasonable value for money and it got us out of the rain. The lady on the desk was lovely and friendly and our passport identities was a fun idea, especially finding out at the end of our visit how they fared. The shop wasn't amazing and there was no cafe. Two sets of steps may add difficulty for some.

Tudor World is not a massive place, but there is plenty to learn here about Stratford and the house. You can sort of feel yourself going into the 'ye olde world' when you enter the alleyway. We was probably here about 1.5 hrs and the kids had fun smelling different smells, dressing up and trying to write with a quill. Entrance isn't hugely expensive (it was about twenty quid for the family), but you should go knowing this isn't a big attraction (it's all set within the house!)

The price to enter is fairly reasonable, all be it doesn't take long to get around. It's a nice little place to visit while walking around. There are a few activities such as learning how to use a quil and ink, etc. It's a nice bit of heritage, and it's supporting to keep the building open for the future. The staff are very polite and willing to talk to you too! On a separate occasion, I did a ghost tour at night, which was very good value for the price.

A fantastic place. During the day it is a little tudor museum that balances learning with humour. During the night, the ghost tour around the museum is hilarious, frightening and informative all at the same time. The guide was phenomenal. From the minute you enter the gate, she makes you uncomfortable by randomly staring at you until the tour is ready to commence. I can't recommend this highly enough. The cost is an absolute bargain and you are guaranteed to enjoy day and night.

Look at my reviews. 98% are positive. I love complimenting great locations, food, people and service but None of that was here . Pass this up and head to Hampton Court Palace if you want to learn the same info with engaged, live actors in a much better setting. No friendly welcome, small, dingy and not a single person anywhere. A few tus bits were interesting but it was like reading the Tudor assignment of a student posted on walls throughout rooms. So much reading. Writing with a quill was fun but that was it. Glorified student project. Just go sit on the Avon and read horrible histories instead or better yet head to Hampton Court palace. Not a single actor or guide anywhere just endless posters to read. Moldy smell, dismal and mostly boring. Not a single staff member there except women checking us in who ignored us. I can’t believe all the positive reviews. So opposite of our experience

Excellent place and the lady who works there is lovely. We visited as a family firstly in the afternoon for the museum and then 3 of the family members went back for the ghost tour later on. All had a great time, definitely worth a visit.

A fun exhibition of Tudor life. Lots of interactive exhibits. You can dress up, smell the smells and lots of info to read. Doesn't take very long to go around so can be easily fitted into a day out in Stratford. In the town centre, some on street parking nearby. Really enjoyed it. Would recommend

We attended a ghost walk for Halloween and were taken round by 'Agnes Slaughter' the lights were off and in our group a few lanterns were given out, three including 'Agnes Slaughter' s'. She relayed ghostly tales of the resident spirits that resided in Tudor World. There were no gimmicks just great stories and an amazing atmosphere. We did a five hour round trip to get to it meeting with family in Stratford upon Avon and I thought it was well worth it not expensive and very interesting. The ghost walk lasted about an hour.

I really enjoyed the place as an adult. It is quite small but if you take your time you can stay for an hour. The ambiance is very well made and immersive. It’s a fun activity to do in Stratford-Upon-Avon.

This is a great little place to visit for an hour or so. Set in a historic building in the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon it gives you (and especially your kids) an interesting presentation of Tudor life. Take your 7-10 year olds.

Definitely enjoyed this museum! I (17) went with my host mom, a three year old and a six year old, and we all had a good time. The exhibits are interesting and the activities fun. The shop also sells cool knickknacks.

We went here on Wednesday at 6pm for the Ghost walk. Agatha was very good and took on her roll 100% Loved the history and tales about what paranormal was going on here. Some adult participation if you want to, which was fun. Would highly recommend if you like this sort if thing. Remember this is done in the dark apart from a little light from a couple of lamps. I don't think any spirits followed us home that night🤔👻

Really lovely lady at the entrance was so helpful and stored pushchair for me. Place was small but just what we needed for an hours fun. Had to entertain a 13, 11 and 6mth old and there was lots to look at. They enjoyed it

Brilliant! Fantastic place full of history I recommend getting the full package ticket and doing all 5 places although we only managed 3 in a day! Absolutely stunning gardens friendly staff and amazing artifacts to see. Lots for children to learn, our two teenage boys really enjoyed the experience. Lots of local car parks charging around £2 an hour. All Saints church within walking distance to see Shakespeares Grave but be prepared to pay £4 an adult and £1 a child. Situated close to the town, Shakespeare birthplace and New place it is a lovely day out!

Not my favourite out of the houses but well worth a visit. The garden isn't as extensive as the some of the others but if you have an inclusive ticket, it's worth the trip. Very close to the church where Shakespeare is buried and there is a lovely walk back along the river. Look at some the the lovely old houses on the walk out. It is only 10 minutes walk from New place so is a good round trip. The cafe is excellent and all freshly made

It’s a very nice museum of Shakespeare’s home. I believe it was where Shakespeare’s eldest daughter and her husband, Dr John Hall lived. There’s a fascinating collection of antiques and historical medical equipment. The architecture also offers glimpses into the past culture. There’s a nice garden out back and a cafe where you could get cream tea.

Hall’s Croft Stratford-upon-Avon is another one of the 5 places you can visit on your Full Story Ticket. This very regal house belonged to Shakespeare’s daughter Susanna and her husband. It is a place of wealth and quite spectacular. Beautifully maintained including the gardens. There was an ancient Black Mulberry tree and a Medlar Tree and a thriving vegetable garden. Very interesting place.

Hall's croft is so lovely. The garden is one of the most peaceful spots I've come across (of course it depends on how busy it is when you visit!). The house is creaking with history. Part of a great day out in Stratford-upon-Avon. Loads of history to absorb, lovely locations, beautiful town. If you're not into history and the greatest bard ever then maybe give it a miss as this is what Startford is all about.

The place was interesting since you get to walk around to see the footprint of what was the building. Unfortunately there is no physical building left, but the garden was nice. The introduction talk really gave it perspective and the guide was engaging. Went on a Monday, 11:30am entry was fast and quiet. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to buy the tickets by itself if it weren't included in the package.

Really nice to see it all finished! The gardens are absolutely beautiful. I could’ve stayed there all day. The Shakespeare inspired sculpture is amazing. I felt that inside, there could be more information but really enjoyed the ‘women’s’ section.

Despite the original New Place house that Shakespeare and family lived in being long gone the fantastic, knowledgable and fun guide, and beautifully laid out gardens, sculptures, and exhibition spaces really create a magical experience and give you a real strong impression of Shakespeare's life and achievements. Thoroughly enjoyable and exceeded expectations. Recommended.

The attention to detail was commendable, and the staff were knowledgeable and passionate, making the experience even more enjoyable. Whether you're a Shakespeare enthusiast or just curious about his life and legacy, Shakespeare's new place is a must-visit destination. I left feeling inspired and enriched, with a deeper understanding of one of history's greatest literary figures.

Lovely, efficient and helpful staff, we really enjoyed it all, disappointing the fact that we could not visit the first floor as, due to the covid, it's turned into a office. Visitors should be advised in advance!

Such a beautiful place to visit in the city of Stratford upon Avon. There are lots of rich culture and history to immerse yourself in. Although, there is no physical structure of the house, traces of its memory are found all over the place. Many wonderful and knowledgeable guides to assist you and inform you about the amazing life Shakespeare’s had. There’s also a museum next door where you can find more interesting artefacts and you can also buy souvenirs.

Shakespeare's New Place was the largest house in Stratford-upon-Avon when it was built in 1597. It was purchased by Shakespeare for £120 and was his family home until his death in 1616. The house was demolished in 1759, but the site is now a registered garden that commemorates the importance of the site and allows visitors to make their own personal connection with Shakespeare. The garden is beautifully designed and features a variety of plants and flowers that would have been familiar to Shakespeare. There are also several specially-commissioned artworks that explore Shakespeare's life and work. The garden is a great place to relax and reflect on Shakespeare's legacy.

Beautiful gardens and sculptures. There was also a ton of history to learn about Shakespeare and the town of Stratford-Upon-Avon. It surprised me by becoming my favorite part of my trip to Stratford!

New place and garden was nice. I like the garden abd sculptors based on Shakespeare’s characters. Birthplace and new place is walking distance.

Lovely place and gardens better without the rain. We had a guide inside I think she said was Italian. Told us everything we needed to know about the New Place and surroundings and was really good and learning the language perfectly.

It was a beautiful sunny day to explore the wonderful gardens. Plenty of seats and deckchairs to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. An exhibition in the house was very interesting. A wonderful sculpture of a tree 🌳 and giant ball. You can see the marked outline of where Shakespeares house used to be. A multi ticket 🎟 is better value if you want to visit the other sites.

Self guided tour brought me to new place, although not the origional building which was destroyed by the last owner, the heritage group has made this place a fitting stand in, with extensive grounds to see sculptures of galleons writing desks and abstract sculptures of each of Shakespeares plays, with deck chairs to sit and just enjoy the view, new place is wheel chair friendly with a lift to the second floor where u are able to view the gardens from above.. the staff were friendly and the exit is through a gift shop with reasonably prices gifts

Attractive gardens at the site of Shakespeare's former family home. Highlights include an ornamental knot garden, striking sculptures and a large mulberry tree, believed to have been grown from a cutting of the one planted by Shakespeare. The exhibition centre explains more about the history of New Place, and there are toilets and a gift shop on site. At the time of my visit a single adult ticket was £14.50, but I'd highly recommend the "Shakespeare's Story" ticket that also included access to Shakespeare's Birthplace and Anne Hathaway's Cottage for £25. Check the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust website for up to date prices and opening times.

Beautiful house and gardens, polite and informative staff. One volunteer had just popped in on his day off and was extremely illuminating about other local sites of interest. Thoroughly enjoyed it. A stark contrast to Shakespeare's birth place.

A great place to visit especially if you are into sculpture many which are in the garden so weather needs to be on your side. Most of staff are happy to help but found a few that were behaving odd, as if they were looking at a potential art thief or something?! Repeatedly harassed male visitors with bags. Cafe small but clean and nice.

Lovely day visiting the Portrait Artist of the Year exhibition. Other galleries interesting and beautifully laid out. Nice walks around grounds, dog friendly areas, but lambs around, dogs to be kept on leads obviously. Looks like good range of activities for little people, but we didn't have any with us this time. Cafe excellent, food lovely, service good. Had booked table in advance.

Well worth the entrance fee. Plenty of parking. Nice walks. If you enjoy art you're in for a treat. The architecture is stunning. The restaurant is very good, but if you're on a budget, take a picnic. Plenty of lakeside picnic areas. ( you'll need a bag to take your rubbish home) Enjoy the boating after. Definitely recommend.

Lots of parking, easy to find and well worth a visit. Lovely grounds with some interesting art installations , and a wonderful art gallery , cafe and shop. Really enjoyed our visit here.

Nice grounds if not particularly extensive but good for a little walk. Exhibitions were pretty interesting. Chinese bronze particularly. Cake was good in the restaurant.

Beautiful place and welcome relief from the heatwave as there was air conditioning inside. Amazing displays both regular and visiting. The grounds are stunning although the heat prevented us exploring on this trip so we will have to go back. Excellent lunch and afternoon tea. Clearly a lot of consideration has gone into keeping all ages happy. Something for everyone.

Went to see the luminaire exhibit which was a really beautiful sensory experience I’m the main building Quinton Blake’s Fantastic Beast Exhibit was there for a magical trip down memory lane Lovely other exhibits throughout the main building Great cafe and beautiful grounds Car park is on a steep hill and can be muddy so don’t wear your hood shoes Over all a really lovely place to visit

Varied but important collections. The material in the Chinese and Northern European galleries is internationally significant. Exhibits very well presented. The landscaped grounds and house are worth seeing as is the church, a rare example of Capability Brown's architecture. Good restaurant.

Attended a book launch event, held in a private room. Great surroundings for an event. Enjoyable lunch, the fish finger sandwich on sourdough came with plentiful salad. The grounds are lovely - think Capability Brown and you're there!

This house contains some fascinating items to look at. I was particularly impressed with the folk museum and the Chinese collection which has on display some outstanding artifacts that I feel are as good as, if not better than those in the British Museum. Unfortunately the weather was not good so I did not have the opportunity to look around the Capability Brown designed parkland. A good excuse to revisit.

Great family day out for old and young alike . You have the main house and a lot of outdoor space and woodland to look round they have many events on. Mainly, art exhibitions, the best one for children, is the luminarium. That I went to 📸 below. Tunnels to walk through lots of lights very sensory. There is childrens outdoor area so they can run around. You are not allowed to bring dogs as their are a lot sheep roaming wild between the car park and the house. Best to book tickets in advance. Or you will end paying separately and may not get into the event you wanted to attend!

Interesting art displays in the house within beautiful grounds. Now have an exhibition on Landscapes which is fascinating. Worth going to see the Turner picture of the lake at Petworth on its own. At Petworth House this painting was high up on the wall and in the dark. Here you can see it in all its glory.

A historic landmark turned into an art gallery. This place is magical with vast landscape and a tiny lake with amalgamation of art. An art gallery worth your visit and time. The gardens to explore are a breath of fresh air. With amazing activities happening in the place often. Take your kids and pets for the weekend. Sit inside their cafe and explore art. An experience you will remember.

Lovely day out here on a hot June afternoon.. Spent most of our time just basking in the sun next to the lake .. took a picnic and just sat and enjoyed our surroundings .. Didn’t need to go in the cafe so not sure what the food and facilities are like inside.. plenty of parking on site which is free but admission is pricey .. £18 for adults and £10 for 19-25 year olds .. children are free! Overall a lovely day out.. lots to do for kids to :)

A great afternoon wandering around the galleries, exhibitions, and landscaped grounds.

Excellent place. The staff are all so helpful & lovely. They take their time to chat and make sure you know where you are going. A number of them even complimented my Husband & I on our attire & thanked us for making the effort to dress accordingly. (Very few people had bothered to dress for the occasion). A fabulous, interesting building with a shop, bar, cafe & restaurant. We saw an updated version of 'Much ado about nothing'. Again an excellent performance by all of the cast. It was my first foray into Shakespeare but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. My only negative comment is that the theatre seats are very small with very little leg room(I'm 5' 2")& were quite uncomfortable. Overall I would highly recommend and would definitely visit again. Thankyou to all who helped make this a fabulous Valentine's surprise weekend.

I've visited the RSC countless times now and never have an experience that is less than ideal. Staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating and the plays are always wonderfully done. A visit is more than worth the money.

I saw the All's Well That Ends Well production and it was a very lovely theatre. The gift shop is cute, the cafe looked nice and the staff were on the ball. Great seating - I was given an upgrade and it was really lovely being closer to the stage.

It was a very last minute decision to go and we are very glad that we did. It was an incredible performance from the actors, they really commit to character and convey the story very well (even for myself who is not very well versed in Shakespeare stories or language). There is a prompter displaying the words spoken, which was very helpful, especially as the actors did really well to convey the Scottish accent so some words were hard to pick up. We went for the cheapest seats which was the back row of the highest floor. Be warned that the seats are actually higher off the floor than the two rows in front, like a bar stool. Not great for plus size, short people, or if you afraid of heights (or all 3!). Thankfully it wasn't a sold out show so we were able to move down 3 rows and it was much more comfortable.

The theater is very well set-up. Even though I was relatively far from the stage compared to other seats, the view was great and the overall shape of the theater creates a very intimate atmosphere. I watched a performance of "As You Like it" by William Shakespeare, and the experience was amazing and incredibly enriching. The museum exhibition in the second floor was also quite interesting and fun. If you are passing by or happen to live in Shakespeare's town, visiting the theater and watching a play is definitely a must! 😃

Did the tour of costume areas and thought it was well worth the fee. You don't know what areas you are going to until the start but staff explained where you where heading at start and asked if it wasn't what you wanted/excepted but despite not heading into theatres themselves the costume areas were fantastic. Also walked round the free exhibition. The tower gives great views over Stratford and lady who took us up was very helpful and informative. Would recommend walking down the stairs as lots of pictures on stairwell. Cafe was nice and good value. Opted for pistachio cake. Some tickets for the theatres were still available for that evening but imagine would need to book depending when visiting. Would recommend visiting this place.

Went to watch loves labor lost and it was lovely. This has the most affordable merch shop with loads of Shakespeare goodies. The theatre is comfortable, with options for drinks and snacks outside. Easily accessible clean restrooms. Prices are affordable depending on which seats you want.

Great theatre, brilliant atmosphere. Went to see The Magician's Elephant which was unusual, but enjoyable. Hope to see a Shakespeare play in the future. Able to pre-book interval drinks if desired. Good toilet facilities too.

We had a truly delicious pre-theatre meal here. It was light, carefully prepared and served modern cuisine. The beetroot, grapefruit and ricotta starter had a beautiful range of flavours and the bream was perfectly cooked. Set price for two or three courses made things easy. Nothing too much trouble for the waiting staff who were attentive, informed and helpful. Followed by superb rendition of Richard 3rd, we had a great evening.

The RSC and Swan theatre are back to back with each other. But which ever end you approach you can walk through to either. There is a gift shop with all Shakespeare's inspired books and trinkets. You can book tickets for performances or lift to the tower for a great viewing experience. I noticed there are plenty of toilet facilities. And restaurants are beautiful with again views over looking gardens and river. Though I did not see a play this time I do recall it being a lovely large theatre inside. And also if you are not a fan of Shakespeare's plays it looks as though West end tours do visit as I saw advertising for the musical Matilda. All in all whatever your reason for visiting you won't be disappointed.

Did not attend the theatre, but had drinks in the cafe…coffee was lovely, service was slow. Lovely seating area outside. Bag search allows you into the reception area to use the bathroom.

We did the 60min backstage tour. Our theater guide Steve was friendly and excited, but was not highly knowledgeable about theater terms and ideas. The walk through the spaces and the history he provided was great. We happen to be theater people and so most of his knowledge was a little less then fulfilling. But I recommend anyway.

We watched midsummer night's dream yesterday, what a treat it was. One of the best things I have ever seen, the entire cast were brilliant. The theatre is beautiful and the show magnificent. Thank you.

We thoroughly enjoyed Love's Labour's Lost and the actors made it easy to understand the storyline, which was a new one for us. We bought the tickets on the day and were delighted that they had availability on the day they celebrated Shakespeare's birthday. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and were keen to tell us stories about the building, when we had a spontaneous walk round during the afternoon.

Beautiful performance and great acting by the artists. Been there on recommendation of many people. So watched one of the show and really enjoyed it. Had an amazing experience with friends and spent great time. This building is like old and new architecture mixture. Btw recommend if you’re around. Even the ticket is not that much which no one can afford.

Went to see a Mid summer's night's dream with Mathew Bayton. Extremely enjoyable evening the perfect tonic to a miserable February Friday night. Excellent view from our seats,circle high Seats, easy entrance and exit. We arrived with five mins to curtain up (traffic)and we were in our seats comfortably before curtain up ,and out again with plenty of time to enjoy a drink on the way back to the b&b. Wonderful evening

Saw Midsummer Nights Dream which was excellent. Easy parking in Stratford, plenty of great places to eat with easy walk to theatre. Simple process to get inside and plenty of friendly staff to help with directions etc. Great evening, really enjoyed it.

First time visit and what a tremendous evening. Saw A Midsummer Nights Dream and it was a superb production with an excellent cast, costumes & music. I bought the tickets well in advance and picked them up on arrival. There is a shop, and the possibility of meeting some of the actors at the stage door.

The latest production of A Midsummer Nights Dream was superb! A genuinely fantastic cast with perfect charismatic connections. After picking seats at the side we were worried we would just see people's backs but we were worrying for nothing. The seats themselves were also very comfortable and as a lady over 6ft the leg room was incredible!!!

Lovely place the RSC to go too .friendly staff.i find I try to make it ,to come this theatre as much as I can ,the show's are so much fun ,and find I'm allway on edge of my seat with laughter, beautiful place and the views are allways makes me feel alive. Again popping over to Dirty duck. But hear in the restaurant you can relaxe with nice glass of wine prices are fine. .

This is a fantastic theatre that never fails to reward. We recently visited to see "A Box of Delights" - a great production with fantastic imagery. We had stall tickets that were £49.50 pp. The raked seats reward excellent views. The only minor niggle was that we were quite chilly, possibly due to the air conditioning. I would also highly recommend the "behind the scenes tour," This is a superb way to understand how this theatre operates. It is an excellent place to visit.

Booked and went to see A study in Scarlett (17/09/23) and what a fantastic play it was. Excellent acting and production, great set too. Excellent acting from the cast and each part played extremely well. First time at the Attic theatre and will be looking at when we can head back again. If you’ve never been here I suggest you look to go! Absolutely loved the show tonight. It’s even converted my wife to Sherlock Holmes! Keep up the excellent work. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We wanted to share just how much we enjoyed the wonderful performance of Macbeth. This was a powerful and intimate show, wonderfully performed by the cast. Raw, passionate, energetic and authentic, we felt like we were privileged to be there. This was the first time our 14 and 11 year olds had seen a live Shakespeare performance, they came out buzzing, and with a far greater understanding and appreciation of the subject matter. Thank you, that was brilliant.

Wonderful tiny venue. Family of 12 including 5 children went to the Robin Hood panto Dec 2022. All loved it, kids and adults, 4 year old came out and said she wanted to watch it again straight away! Fantastic cast, script and performance. Amazing value.

Amazing performance of Blithe spirit at the attic theatre. First time going and cannot recommend enough. Its a small theatre and you are so close to the stage as to be immersed in the production. Lighting, sound and effects are great. Tickets very reasonably priced. If you are in Statford upon Avon go and see what is on.

Visited this unique theatre to see The Three Musketeers. A brilliant show. Great entertainment. Interactive with the audience, funny and brilliant acting. So good we have been to see Sherlock Holmes A Study in Scarlet. Again Brilliant acting and a superb play. What this theatre lacks in size it makes up for in heart. It's amazing what so few actors can achieve. Well worth a visit.

Absolute excellence! The perfect example of "don't judge a book by its cover". The cast has managed to bring a modern witty twist to a classic such as Beauty and the Beast play! The humour and pace throughout the play is truly disarming and will bring a smile to your and your child's face! Must see!

Super entertaining panto this year - Robin Hood. Thoroughly enjoyed it as many others plays before. I love the space and the cast is always giving 100+ %.

Went to see Sense and Sensibility tonight at the Attic Theatre. It was absolutely brilliant. Fantastic performances and great stage production. Don’t miss see this great community theatre group performing one of Jane Austin’s great stories.

Went to see a production of peter pan by the tread the boards theatre company. Well worth the price of the family ticket. The company is small and several cast members played multiple roles. The theatre is small and you are close to the action. Great production.

We randomly stopped by to see a show at the Attic and it was just so much fun. We watched a version of the Three Musketeers and it was super funny and the actors were so good. Our little kids, 6 and 8 loved the slapstick physical humor, the bigger kids, 10 and 12 laughed at the subtle jokes and followed the story fairly well and we as parents really enjoyed it all! Really something people should check out. Lovely time!

What a little gem of a theatre. Only in Stratford for 2 nights, and saw Dracula opening night was that night. Bagged last 2 tix, and wow, are we glad we did! Loved it. Fabulous cast, wonderfully staged. Will keep our eyes peeled and make a return visit when possible

What a fantastic small intermittent theatre. We visited last night and watched The Three Musketeers. It was so funny. We really enjoyed the evening. The staff were really helpful and informative., including taking our own drinks. Next time we moor in Bancroft basin we will visit again. I noticed the shows are changed regularly.

My wife and I were in town for only a night and decided to catch a play. We saw Sense and Sensibility. Very glad we did. The theater is small and charming. Our proximity to the actors made it feel as though we were in the play with them. The acting was excellent with great attention to all the little nuances the bring a character to life. The overall play was well orchestrated and directed, making use of the entire space and every minute of time, including scene changes. I would highly recommend catching a shoe in The Attic!

Excellent show (watched Dracula), Small venue which gave an intimate experience. Ticket price good value for money. Will definitely look to visit again and enjoy future productions

One of the most enjoyable historical experiences my daughter (12) and I have ever had. Kate our guide was welcoming and informative, we learned so much about this amazing building. We then had a Latin lesson with Mr Jenkins who was absolutely brilliant. Again, we learned so much! We really enjoyed trying out writing with quills whilst sat at the benches in this special building which is around 600 years old. An absolutely incredible place and well worth a visit.

A visit of two distinct equally interesting parts. Ground floor explanation of the role of town guild and council activities. Upper floor was a delightful explanation of education in the time of Shakespeare. Delivered by a charismatic ,enthusiastic and knowledgeable ' school master'. We learned about the philosophy of education , classroom order , subject matter and expectations of the pupils. All delivered in an amusing but highly informative and appealing to children and adults of every age . Do not miss .

Superb way to spend an hour, the guides are have excellent knowledge of the history of the building, really interesting and highly recommended, the 'teacher' was a particular highlight, we felt chastised when we came out.

We have just visited the schoolroom and guildhall. The staff at the schoolroom were amazing and so knowledgeable. It was a wonderful experience and great for children to learn about our history. We recommend you visit it.

Really interesting and interactive experience. The volunteers were very informative and engaging. We probably spent an hour in total having watched the videos, had the school room experience, and had a go with quills. Well worth a visit to learn more about Shakespeare's time and schooling.

We spent an hour or so here on Saturday 2nd April 2022. The guys that started the tour with us were students of the school now and were amazing. They were so proud of the history and to be a part of something so special that this really translated into the tour. I was also super impressed with Master Jenkins, he met us on the second part of the tour and was so passionate and gave us so much time. I loved this experience and would recommend it to anyone 😊😊

A must place to visit at Stratford-upon-Avon, it is a mix of history and today’s school. The guides are helpful, warm, and giving detailed information. This is the best place in the area.

Gives some good history of the school where Shakespeare developed. You are popped onto a guided tour around where good information is given. Upstairs, the gent who gives the Latin lesson was fab! Opportunity to write with a quill but do beware, the ink will likely get onto your fingers and is difficult to remove!

Our guide was really nice very informative also the teacher upstairs was really good we learned about Tutor's and there method of teaching which really surprised me on how they taught young pupils gift shop was great highly recommended.

Fascinating place to visit. Staff are super friendly. Costumed guides giving information about the rooms and the history. They even have a medieval wall painting. And best of all furry friends are allowed in. Loved it.

Amazing place! Definitely a turn back time. In every room you will visit will be a guide who will let you know how the people used to be and learn that time,also everything is interactive and you will have to take some lessons, which is fun.Is amazing to see how well everything is preserved. Highly recommend to visit this place.

It was interesting to see how schools were set up in the 16th century. The person who took the part of the headmaster gave a very interesting insight into how lessons were taught during that time period. There were no formal exams as such; the older students taught the younger ones, this gave the headmaster an indication of how much the older students had learnt and if any gaps appeared in their learning. If successful, the students then progressed to the next stage of learning.

Really enjoyed visit and took you back in time to where Shakespeare went to school. Great interactive stuff to do whilst on the tour like writing in the school room with quill pens and trying on clothes.

We found it an interesting piece of history. The gentlemen giving the tour and playing the school teacher were both knowledgeable of Shakespeare and the Guildhall and very much relished sharing the history. There are a couple of short video presentations and interactive displays too, along with faded pre-Reformation paintings. It made for an enjoyable and enlightening hour well spent.

I really enjoyed being part of the class and the actor playing the teacher was brilliant! Learnt so much what schools were like back in the days, won’t give you any spoilers here. Last entry time is 4:30pm, and you’d want to save 1hour for the visit. There are some crops you can try on and take pictures with.

Great Christmas trees for sale and very helpful staff. The shop is very nice too!
