Wonderful tower tour with Brian and Maureen. Both so knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. This cathedral really is so beautiful and as a non local I had no idea just how beautiful it was. Definitely recommend the tour if you're not sacred if heights or small spaces!!

I recently visited the Peterborough Cathedral last Wednesday and am delighted to give it a five-star rating. This magnificent church, accessible to the public, left me in awe. Its origins as a monastic community dating back to 654 AD, its status as one of the most famous medieval abbeys in the country, its role as the final resting place for two queens, and its connection to the Civil War make it a truly great site. The Cathedral welcomes visitors from Monday to Saturday, between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, and Sundays from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm. What struck me the most was the abundance of natural light inside the church, creating a vibrant and uplifting atmosphere. It's a photographer's dream, as the lighting is simply marvellous. During quieter moments, one can truly appreciate the cathedral's rich history. Although I regret not being able to explore the upstairs tour due to my busy schedule, I hope to have the opportunity to do so in the future. Entry is by donation, and it's wheelchair accessible in the main church area.

First time to Peterborough and visited the Cathedral - the guide we spoke to was incredibly helpful and so passionate about sharing the stories and history with us, she also recommended other places to visit nearby. Well worth a visit! Reminded me of York Minster.

Very pretty cathedral! Lovely walk around and I hope to visit again. Its full of history including the place of burial of Katherine of Aragon, Henry 8th first wife and the place Mary Queen of Scots was buried before she was moved in 1612.

A lovely peaceful place to look around. There are some fine stained glass windows and interesting facts about the burial of Katherine of Aragon and Mary Queen of Scots - who knew the were interred there for a time?

I did the architectural tour of the cathedral. If this interests you then I highly recommend it. Fantastic guides that had me hanging on their every word. The morning tour took in the ground floor and outside areas, followed by lunch in Becketts tearooms. Then the afternoon spent in the upper levels and roof. I absolutely loved seeing the bones of the building.

If i could give this more stars i would! Absolutely breath taking place of history and beauty! Always love coming here to visit, its like walking into the history of the past, travel back in time! Lots to look at, cemetery at rear end, I don't need to honestly say much as the building speaks for itself, absolutely stunning. Always captivating! EDIT - if you're a fan of the deep blue sea history then come to the cathedral in July 2024, they are hosting a event in relation to the sea 🌊 🦈 looks like its going to be a fantastic one so dont miss out!

A "must see" in city center. Absolutely majestic and manificient. Loved the architecture, the woodwork. We spend almost an hour exploring the beauty of this large cathedral.

My son was a chorister here for 6 years. When people hear of Peterborough they don’t think of a cathedral. This is a simply stunning building. It’s one of the Fens crown Jewell’s. It’s an a amazing building but it’s a place of worship. I would recommend, whatever your faith or conviction, to attend choral evensong. That’s a real experience in an incredible building

Coming from Australia on a motorbike tour of UK. I had heard from locals in London that Peterborough was worth visiting.. They were correct. It has been a lovely experience. Your cathedral is breathtaking. The doorman - Philip was such a wealth of knowledge. This history he talked about of this amazing cathedral was very memorable.. It made our experience and such a real pleasure and we will pass on it’s a place to visit to your town. Thank you

Very nice cathedral and surrounding buildings. Pity it closes so early, 5pm. You need to park your car far away. This gives you a plus too. The old part of Peterborough has some nice photogenic buildings. So take your time wandering around. I didn't go inside and the walk and shooting photos took me 2 hours.

A truly impressive Cathedral with significant history, with; The Hedda Stone, Katherine of Aragon's tomb, Mary Queen of Scots original burial place and a memorial to Edith Cavell. Originally an Abbey it was saved by the Abbot from ruin by Henry VIII. It is free to enter but a donation is welcome and well deserved. 😎👍👍👍

Gorgeous cathedral, the celling looks stunning with all the paintings and sculptures well preserved. You can visit the ground floor yourself when it is open, and the tour is organised (on Wednesdays) to the Tower with the ability to climb upstairs to see the upper floors. Absolutely stunning place and a must-see if you are visiting Peterborough.

This is an absolute must if you visit Peterborough, no excuses. We went on the upper floor and roof tour, frightening and exciting all in one, unreal views of the inside and outside areas, great tour guides filled with expert knowledge. We then went on the ground floor tour, again a wonderful tour guide with expert knowledge. Not expensive either for such a magnificent time.

We just visited Peterborough for the first time having traveled up from south Wales. Peterborough cathedral is definitely the jewel in the crown, it's an amazing building full of history inside its breathtakingly beautiful architecture is stunning. There is also a cafe which serves really nice food.

You have to visit this magnificent building. Full of history and tranquility at the same time. The staff were helpful, the shop has souvenirs, there are brief explanations displayed everywhere. I di not get to the tour, hope to do so next visit.

Beautiful cathedral and very friendly volunteers who welcomed us as we entered it. There is a lot to see there. We visited just after Christmas and there was still a lovely smell of Christmas tree around the building. We visited as a family and our kids really enjoyed exploring the cathedral.

A real gem for Peterborough. So much amazing history in this Cathedral, including the burial of two Queens (one now moved to London). It’s amazing to be able to visit the resting place of Katherine of Aragon, one of Henry the VIII’s wives, a huge part of English history. Make sure you take a walk around the outside too, there are remains of the original abbey still to be seen.

A remarkable cathedral which is free to enter and features stunning historical architecture. It has beautiful stained glass windows and the entire cathedral is warm inside thanks to the large radiators located throughout the building that heat it up. I recommend anybody who is interested in this cathedral to visit it.

Nice location but expensive if you buy food here. Plenty of space to bring a picnic which we will do next time. Lots of BBQ stations so bring your own charcoal and enjoy Bit of a sewer smell wafting around periodically which made it feel a bit dirty. Car park pay on exit works well and should be a similar system everywhere. Will probably return again next summer

Excellent location near Nene Park. Big site but immaculate. Ideal for "country" walks around Nene Park and Lake, took us about an hour to walk all the way around the lake We also cycled alongside the railway line on cycle paths towards Peterborough and then back along the side of the rowing and canoe course, past the golf course and through the wooded section of Nene Park -easy flat route. On an afternoon we walked to the cuckoo pub along a wooded path and through the industrial estate - about 30/40 min walk. Dog friendly pub and served good beers. Large CAMC site with plenty to do. Would visit again.

We have been coming here for years. My eldest is 18 this year and i have been bringing him since he was a few months old. I have since had 2 other boys who absolutely love coming here they are 8 &11. How you have revamped each area over the last few years is stunning. We very often meet friends and family here in the holidays as there is plenty to do for everyone and the kids have so much fun and have so much space to run around in. The newest part nearest the lake i have to say is my sons favourite and mine at the moment. Well done to everyone involved in looking after the park 💙❤️

It was a wonderful experience, with clear and sunny sky. It was a picnic weather and we did not miss the chance. This park has barbecue stand, where you can bring your own food and charcoal to enjoy and it is absolutely free and first come basis. Toilets are there but not very clean but it is same as other public place. Car park is huge but cost is on higher side. There is a huge water body, where you can enjoy water rides and also restaurants are available. There is a small train 🚂 you can ride on too with your child and children playing area is also available

The park in Peterborough is truly marvelous and breathtaking. The expansive lake adds to its stunning beauty, making it one of the largest parks in the area. What's even better is that the entrance is free, and the park offers a lengthy and picturesque space for walking and hiking. Conveniently, there's parking available on-site, along with restroom facilities. The presence of a cafe adds to the overall convenience, and I was delighted to discover private boat rides available on the lake. The enchanting nature of the park captivated me, creating a truly mesmerizing and unforgettable atmosphere.

This is one of the most beautiful places to spend a day out in nature. There is a special area designed for barbecue, playground for kids with sand, water and green grass. There is also a little train that you can ride from one side to another of the park. Another good thing is that you can visit and stay with your own motor home- caravan or tent. I do recommend to hire one of the equipments like boat, swan or kaiac and saile around the lake. Kids were very happy all day!

Lovely,large country park. Well maintained,miles of walks and lots of things to do. Ideal for families with children of all ages. There are plenty of places to picnic, some with BBQ which you would need to bring charcoal for, and several cafe's offering a reasonable range of items. For those staying at the adjacent Caravan and Motorhome Club Site it's an added bonus. I'd highly ya visit.

Lovely country park on the western edge of Peterborough. Lots of walks on good tarmac paths around the lakes plus a cafe and a bar with water sports, playground and a miniature railway.

Absolutely wonderful place - highly recommend! Stayed at the camping and motorhome club site next door. Walk out of gates into park. The wildlife is amazing, as are the facilities. A huge site, easy to find peace and quiet.

Lots to do for all ages, well cared and maintained. Paths good for my mobility scooter. Beautiful riverside walk, in woodlands and open land. Plenty of space for all. Cafe and toilets available or better still have your own picnic

This place was on our list for months. I was not disappointed when we visited the place. Beautiful scenery. Lovely place for a walk, bike or picnic. Great playground for kids. Really enjoyed our day out.

Travelled 1.5hrs to get it and it was more than worth it. Definitely our favourite place to visit. Stunning lake and views, really lovely circular walk round. Huge field for dogs to run around including some agility equipment. A nice paddle area for dogs & people. We loved it here.

Maybe visiting after heavy rain wasn't the best idea as most of the footpaths around the lakes were flooded, as was the large play area but still some nice walks to be had. Well stocked visitor centre with some local gifts. Parking is relatively cheap as well. Very busy in the park though! I get the impression Peterborough doesn't have many other public spaces like this so everyone goes here!?

Came here after searching for somewhere to walk whilst on holiday with family and our dog. There are lots of lovely, accessible walks around the park and seems to be lots of activities that take place there throughout the year. There's also a lovely cafe and shop (both of which welcome dogs) to take a break in when you're done exploring!

3 pleasant lakes with walks. Bird hide... play grounds. Cafe and shop. Waterworks centre and another cafe on third lake. The local council let it run down during and after covid and seem to be making a big effort to bring things back up to standard. Nothing is cheap there as a result!

Went to winter festival was a tad disappointed only 2 small fairground attractions when advertised as being a Victorian fair ? The light trail was nice especially for little ones for bigger people could have been a bit more extravagant although thumbs up for the lovely sustainable willow animals throughout. Some of them very big..at the end of the trail there was a fairy enactment by 6 actor/ singers. Very sweet for the children. At this end there is a firepit where you can toast marshmallows bur at £4 for 1 on a stick was ridiculous, my advice is take you own if you want toasted mallows. Overall a nice chrismassy feel about it..enjoy the baikeys hot chocolate 🍫

Whilst visiting the area on business we wanted to get a few hours walk in and someone told us to visit here. So glad we did, and it was a beautifull afternoon to visit such a lovely place , beautifully maintained, loads of wild birds and so much open space for children to play. Managed to catch the cafe for a hot chocolate before it closed, very pleasant walk, would love a place like this near me.

We're very lucky to have this on our doorstep, it's a lovely place to walk whatever the season. The only negative is when people choose to ignore the park rules and allow their dogs to be off their leads (we visited at the time when the park was trialling a scheme where dogs had to be on leads at all times but sadly a few people seemed to think that they were exempt from this!). As much as we love dogs, it can be extremely intimidating when a strange dog runs up to you and starts snarling and growling and doesn't pay any heed to its owner's calls. Furthermore, if a dog can be that disobedient, then what's to stop it from harming wildlife?? Also another note of warning, there are quite a few cyclists who use the park, so keep an eye (or ear!) out for them to avoid any potential accidents. Aside from that, it's a great place for a walk, enjoying the beautiful natural landscape, with the chance to spot wildlife and if you fancy a hot drink or something to eat, there are a couple of onsite cafes/restaurant that offer a variety of sandwiches and cakes. There are a couple of play parks too, if you have young kids who need to expend a bit of energy! We also got to see the new Willow Bridge that has replaced the old pontoon bridge and it looks amazing! There are onsite toilets and a gift shop and a car park too (car parking charges apply).

Nene Valley Railway is a great day out there is lots to do and great value, in fact you can walk round the station and yard totally free of charge. Staff are very friendly and full of information regarding the railway, Train rides are very reasonable price wise. There is a great cafe and gift shop, also for train collectors there is a small shop selling everything from toy trains to railway signs plus charity shop. I took my kids there with no money in my pocket and we had a great time.

Visited Nene Valley Railway back in April while the Sir Nigel Gresley was on tour there. The station is very picturesque with a lovely cafe situated inside. We were lucky to get a guided tour of the workshop and steam sheds which was fascinating with a lot of history behind every locomotive stored there. There were a lot of families and enthusiasts visiting and the station was busy but never felt crowded. Really enjoyed the day and will be looking forward to visiting again.

We are on holiday and the four of us went on the train yesterday the whole experience was amazing. There was so many different engines and trucks to look at , plenty of volunteers with years of knowledge to answer your questions . There is a lovely cafe at the station. There is also a bar on the train so you can have a cold or hot drink. We saw school children enjoying the day, and asking their teachers lot's of interesting questions . All the volunteers were very friendly and helpful 🙂

Me and my 7 year old had a great day out. Easy parking, good facilities and helpful staff. Have been to their HST days too and that was fun as well.

Incredible experience, my train mad son loved the steam engine! Unfortunately the steam engine had a fault so we have to wait 1hour+ to go to the next stop which by then was too late to go to other stops too. The replaced the steam engine with diesel which wasn't as exciting as steam but things happen. Really friendly staff too.

We had a fantastic day here. Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. We got to ride on some amazing trains and view some great trains also. Would definitely recommend a day out here.

Nene Valley Railway 🚂🚃🚃. Children loved the Christmas Special, Santa, Elves, etc. The Santa Special Steam Train Journey was a great experience, with the afternoon tea on board. Lots of steam filling the air. Most off this set up is reliant on volunteers, who keep this place alive, so although the tickets may sound a lot, the funds go towards the great expense of running the railway and restoration of everything from trains to museum artifacts.

My son & I had a lovely time on the 92 Squadron steam train, in comfort of 1st class seating. We even had the pleasure of listening to some people singing Christmas Carol's while on the train. Which lasted 75 minutes travelling along the beautiful Nene Valley, through picturesque landscape of water Meadows, arable farmland & country park.

A family afternoon treat with fish & chips on the train. Great service from all staff, who were friendly, helpful & genuinely happy to be there. Fish & chips were great too. Totally recommend this especially to families. Parking was a little tricky though so allow for time to park before you get on the train. Shops also worth a look, charity shop has good quality things in.

Firstly I’d like to say, every staff/volunteer makes you feel number 1 there. 3 of us had the stone baked pizza & each of us said it was great & just the right size. The guy serving in the cafe was very polite & cleaned our table too. I’d recommend that place even if you don’t take a train ride. I was surprised that this live wasn’t packed for tourists on a bank holiday Monday (maybe they all did the morning train, we did the last steam train). It was a beautiful 1959 polish steam engine. There seems to be a lovely change over every so often of steam engines. This place is also dog friendly. Thank you to everyone there. Recommend 100% & hopefully will return. Please support this steam line.

What a great experience! Steam engine ride for two hours with a fish and chip dinner served on board can't be bad. All the "staff" are unpaid volunteers. The time on the train is 2 hours. If you want a drink from the train bar go early to beat the queue. After that just sit back and enjoy. Very relaxed, happy to let you have pictures in the engine etc. Highly recommended.

We went on Thomas weekend. Recommend the Robert ticket if you like traveling on trains as you can go on the trains as many times as you like and get on and off on the track to Peterborough. The Carrot Hunt was really good for the children and they loved to have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny. Highly recommend a visit. Lots of engines to look at and play area for children including a gift shop and cafe on the platform and on the trains buffet cart. The staff were very friendly and interacted well with the children making it a fun day. .

A beutifull location with a very deep proud history of the train station and trains. The facilities are very good with a nice cafe, very suprised for such a rural location. There is also places to sit by the river and have a picnic. On top of that a great area for rambling with public footpaths through the fields.

Xmas eve Santa Special. The best £25 per person we've spent at Christmas. Elves and Santa all over the train and before hand , amazing present given in Santa's groto. NVR do such an amazing job at Christmas. 5 stars out of 5 . ✌️

Annual Santa train ride for the family. They'd upped the Ante this year, food was great, Carol singers on the train and an excellent Santa! Love the cafe there too - we always get there early for a cuppa. Great experience!

A great place to come for an evening out.you can have a good meal and dont even have to leave your table to place a bet Food in the raceview restaurant is on par with any other restaurant. They offer 3 packages bronze silver and gold. We opted for the gold package which meant we got free entry a race card a drink on arrival a 4 course meal and coffee excellent value would highly recommend

Lovely friendly staff, booths are well kept, neat and tidy. Good evening out for a big group of people and a good selection of beer place could do with a bit of modernisation all in all but it's not too dated.

Good night had by all, we had the silver restaurant deal and it was great value for lovely food. Betting wasn't a problem as a lady came to our table before every race and took our bets and paid any winnings.

My son and I absolutely love it here and have been going for years. We visited for the Christmas experience with friends and it was absolutely magical. There was so much to do for the price, the staff were so friendly as always and the kids loved seeing Santa of course! We will definitely be back for the Christmas experience again. Inside was beautifully decorated, the kids were able to write letters to Santa, have a Christmas story, toast marshmallows, have photos on Santa's sleigh and spend as long as they wanted going round the farm too! In the summer, the natural stream area is lovely for the kids to play in (and the dog!) The fact that it is dog friendly is a huge plus. We love the mill and the animals, and the park area is absolutely massive. We love having this on our doorstep!

Fabulous day out with family. Loads to do (will have to come back to complete), loads to see. Sacrewell Farm boasts the best outdoor playground EVER! My grandchildren loved it. Word of warning: extracting children from the playground area may result in tears!

Farm, campsite, playground, cafe and heritage type. Lovely location easy to get to. Doesn't look like we enter the right place as some areas are sealed up for the campsite. But when entering the reception it takes up a whole lot of facilities. The reception has a small selection of toys especially lots of cuddle toys. There is a large cafe next to the shop which is amazingly large, clean and plenty of food selection with outdoor seating and a small children's play area. Upon entry to the main door we came across two ways. The indoor barn was nice clean and a great selection for young children to run and play. However I was disappointed that there was no mini cafe IE drink, cake biscuit while you sit at the picnic table type. When outside there is a small obstacle course, race kart and seaside type for young children and a sensory type garden with vegetables growing for preschool children to learn. The other direction, you enter into a large play area for mixture ages children which is very good to entertain children with couple of seating area. When you enter out of the play area you come across to a farm animals, heritage material, windmill and wild play area with lake. This is my only downfall I find disappointed. To me I find lack of group animals, lack of interaction animals, the bunny are in not the right location due to impairment in another location and feel there not in the right property as it is dark and cold, messy in certain places, heritage machines falling disrepair or hiding overgrown weed, lack of information, the walk is kind of misguiding. The walk in house was very disappointing and pointless to enter in, the windmill was not what I expected. They also do courses on the blacksmith Thursday to Sunday which I think is fantastic if you are into it and woodcarving course various depends when. They do party for young children and they do school education and have a large room for them to visit and learn. I would visit the cafe as it is top notch but until the farming side needs adjusting I would leave out however with play area I'm kind of stuck in between. There is a walk way den type but unfortunately it was close due to wood cutting.

Wonderful farm with play facilities. Suitable for babies and school age children. Just the right distance to walk around although if it's wet use a baby carrier instead of a pram as becomes difficult to navigate outside. We can't wait to visit the sensory play park once it's finished.

We visited for an astronomy night recently. Plenty of parking. Prompt check in on arrival despite it being very busy. We visited the planetarium which was set up in the play barn. The play barn was shut off but looks excellent, as did the outside play area we seen. We had food in the cafe which was reasonably priced and good quality. The staff were all really lovely and helpful. There is a nice little gift shop on site with a great variety of things to buy. It is quite a distance for us to travel but we are planning to do a day trip there in the spring to look around the farm as there is more than enough to make the trip worth it.

Outstanding place to visit with children of most ages. So much to see and do there. We stayed from pretty much open till close and still didn't see everything there was. The man who drives the tractor was particularly nice to us and went the extra mile with our child, thank you very much for that. We had food from the cafe and found it to be very reasonably priced and good quality. San excellent place to take your kids again and again. If you bring a picnic with you if say to bring about an extra £10 per child to spend on the various little things that need money.

We've got a season ticket for Sacrewell. Geese and goslings, ducks and ducklings, swans checking the millpond out. Just a sample of the wildlife. Lots of farm animals too including plus donkeys and ponies. Origin8 cafe with friendly staff and good food. A play barn and outside playground. Historic water mill. Something for all ages!

This is a wonderful place to take young children. So much for them to do, see and experience. I took my children there when they were young quite regularly. It was great to return with my grandsons. I have to say it’s improved hugely – it’s worth a visit just for the indoor and outdoor play areas. The beautiful setting, the mill, the craft area, the animals, the tractor trailer ride, all add to making it a great day out for all the family. What’s remained constant though is the great value for money.

What a lovely place, a hidden gem and it shouldn't be. Great outdoor play area, large indoor play area, some interesting boutique shops, animals to see, and lots of fresh aid and countryside. And friendly staff, which is becoming more a novelty these days, so take advantage of you live nearby and go visit. Brilliant.

Pleasant place to visit with small children, though there was less to entertain older ones. The indoor play barn was fine, but the outdoor play area looked newer and better equipped. Overall we felt the price was fair, though there are some additional costs if you want to do activities or use some of the equipment (digger in ball pit, go karts).

Came here as a meeting point to spend time with family.. see some animals and little girl to play. The play area is brilliant with different parts for each age group, our daughter loved it. The nature walks and tree house was good fun. Plenty to do with nice cafe in site aswell.

Nice place for a picturesque short walk seeing farm animals and the mill pond etc. Most people attending here are interested in the play areas so other places are very quiet. Be careful when buying a ticket as the prices are misleading. You're asked if you want to gift aid which leads you to believe that you're just giving permission to claim gift aid on your ticket price. NOT SO you're agreeing to buy a ticket plus an additional donation which has gift aid claimed against it. This is explained in the small print on the displayed prices but it's a naughty way to go about it.

I visited the farm today with my partner and we had a lovely day in the nature with the animals, etc. Everything looks very well kept and the animals look well looked after, which is very important for us. There were plenty of places for the children to play so it also looks like a great place for them to spend the day. Definitely recommended.

A great place to visit. The playground and soft play are quite extensive and have lots to do for children of all ages. I was impressed with how well they are maintained. The water mill was a pleasant walk and there were extra activities there for the children. We ate in the cafe which was fine, nothing outstanding but we had a fair lunch.

Perfect little farm! Few animals to look at and very well designed and signed posted. They have a kids play barn and also an outdoor area with plenty to do. Food available and lots of parking. Make sure to visit if you are in the area or near by, you won’t be disappointed. Great day out with the family. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just got home having taken my two kids on a Dadventure day. The place is too big. There’s too much for the kids to do, rain or shine. The animals are looked after too well. The food, too fresh is priced too low. The facilities were too clean! The place invests too much money back in to itself and it shows. There is too much emphasis on kids and animals. We arrived at 10am and were way too tired from all the play and activities come 1630! We got more than our monies worth and unfortunately I’ll be visiting again soon to do it all again. Thank you.

Sat nav using the postcode is not accurate but once you are close by it's well signposted. Not many animals but those that are there are well cared for. Lots of climbing frames and children's outdoor play equipment so great for them but it's definitely not geared up for adults with out children and I don't think I would take a special needs child there because not enough animals . Rough walking for grandparents

Great experience for the kid. Big play areas both indoors and outdoors. Large variety of animals and things for the kids to see and walk around.

It is clean and animals are well catered for in a beautiful area. That cannot be ignored. However a farm park is a stretch. Think more preserved agricultural and mill area with a token few animals. And then large climbing frames for the kids. As a kids day out it is great. But only because of the park and the soft play. 0 to do with the farm. As someone who has gone to many of their events over the years. They are becoming less and less focused on the events. And the kids. And more about the profit. This years easter was actually the turning point that has made us point blank say no events there again. Not even an easter egg for the ever increasing price. the pick of 3/4 tiny items that had to be selected at each table. One of which was school supplies ?!?! At easter?!?! No cute area for the parent to get pictures with the easter bunny. And a tiny field condensing everything together so no one could hqve any relief or enjoyment and prams where an absolute nightmare. All endingg in yhe kids moaning they want an easter egg all the way home.

My family go to Sacrewell a lot and our two children love it there. Today they came back from visiting saying what a lovely time they'd had there and especially how nice the resident Blacksmith was. He took time to have a chat with my wife and children and ended up teaching them to play chess. I don't often post reviews, but I thought he should be commended for being so friendly and making it a lovely afternoon for my family. Thank you!

Not very happy my family of 6 and 4 grandchildren were so excited as we had visited last year. The Christmas experience was amazing. But not this year NOTHING more like SCROOGE Christmas, the farm was CLOSED, no Santa letter writing, no story telling from the Elves, no decoration making, really very unhappy and grandchildren sad. The only thing available was the soft play area.

Visited Sacrewell for a session at the Blacksmith's forge, given as a birthday present. It was a fantastic experience and a lovely day out. I loved the forge and, under the expert tutelage of Lance, made a decent stab at making a fire poker. I cannot recommend this enough. If you think this might be of even the slightest interest to you, book now and do it; you will not be disappointed. The rest of the farm is also lovely and, with lambs, kids, calves, etc, there is more cuteness than anyone can cope with.

This is the second year my husband and I take our three kids here to this beautiful farm during the fall season. They love the activities the staff sets up and there is lot of room to wander the grounds, while seeing farm animals and nature. Also one of the best playgrounds you will come across.

Visited here with little great niece and family what a fabulous time we had, beautifully set up for little ones, loads to do and lovely animals. Thoroughly enjoyed it x Dog friendly too x cafe did great food

Amazing place! I never spent more than an hour in a museum, but this was so engaging. Instead overloading with information they make you feel that experience by touching the items, wearing clothes, taking pictures and background sounds. Highly recommended! Also there’s no entry ticket, just donate if you like.

The museum is a short walk from the High Street, it contains a number of areas but we felt it could of had stuff that was a bit more hands on for the small people. Entry is free, so you can wonder round as quickly or slowly as you like without the need to try and get your moneys worth. The gallery is also located here, and they have some beautiful pictures / paintings, we rushed through with two small people, but managed to get a look! Worth looking out on event days, the kids did manage to make a roman helmet mask. The staff we spoke to seemed friendly. There was also a cafe located at the building.

Gr8 local museum with several sections over Peterborough's history - from dinosaur finds, Roman times, Victorian medicine and medical procedures, farming & travel, industry, Napoleonic prison camps & objects made by the French prisoners (absolutely fantastic), and several oil portraits of prominent Peterborough locals! Not too big so should be able to do it in about 1 hr.

Lovely museum depicting the history of Peterborough, going as far back as the Jurassic period when Peterborough was under water. Collections amassed over a 130 year period. The collections are separated and spread over a number of floors and it sections is wonderfully set out with artefacts and information boards, with many interactive items and even clothing for the kids to try on. It also holds a shop and a cafe, an art gallery showing historical photos and paintings and temporary exhibitions too. And what makes this a great place to visit also is that entry is free.

Went to see Urban, a brilliant contemporary art exhibition featuring artists such a Banksy, Tracey Emin & Damien Hirst. Well worth a visit.

Great place, so much better then I expected. Exhibits from different time periods, child and mobility friendly. Didn't get to spend as long as I wanted to, but will definetly go again 🙂.

Really interesting place to visit, had a kids search option for today and they had fun searching for the lettered paw prints.

Very interesting and interactive museum! Many of the exhibits there you can actually touch and experience! Had a fun time with my daughter where we had a showing of Roman armour and weapons where she got the opportunity to try them on! Many different exhibits, some we weren't expecting, like a toys through the years exhibit, made me feel old! Great place, highly recommend going!

I visited the Peterborough Museum, It was big and had lots of historical items unique to the peoples of ancient peterborough

This is a delightful museum. We visited during the school holidays & it was busy, with a good number of young families - all clearly enjoying themselves. There was an exhibition of paintings of local scenes by a local artist, which were very appealing (& would be interesting from a historical perspective to locals, especially as old photos were displayed alongside). The fossil gallery is bound to be a big draw with kids. Interesting to read about the work of 2 local palaeontologists. Roman section also very interesting. Didn't have time to see the Norman Cross finds, so will have to go back! Nice little café.

This is a real gem of a museum we saw an exhibition called the reunions exhibition 1 and 2 about young people in Peterborough some 30 years ago it was brilliant. The staff in the restaurant are very nice and it has a good selection of bites to eat

This was a fascinating place to spend a couple of hours, with lots of information boards to read alongside the exhibits. I found the section on Norman Cross particularly interesting, but in truth everything else was worth seeing. The friendly man behind the reception desk was particularly helpful at answering a couple of my questions after I had looked around, drawing on his knowledge of working there for 24 years and knowing the place inside out.

Great displays and informative text about local areas years ago. Young children with an adult explaining how things came to happen ,with all the visual displays is a great way to learn local history. The cafe is also an asset to the building to make a visit more attractive as so much to read and view .

I have great affection for Peterborough Museum and have been visiting there for many years out of personal interest and as an archaeology student. It's a fascinating building with an equally fascinating history, along with some great stories. There's a very nice cafe by the gift shop, and an art gallery on the ground floor that hosts some excellent exhibitions. All of the displays are ranged over several floors and are accessible by stairs or lift. Each section is well presented, although some of the interactive areas have suffered at the hands of overenthusiastic children in recent years (the museum is closing for repairs soon, so maybe these issues will be addressed?) However, the main reason for my review is because we attended a ghost walk hosted by Peterborough Museum recently and it was brilliant. The guide, Mark, was excellent! His delivery was a perfect mix of humour, spookiness and history, and he held our attention throughout. I can thoroughly recommend the museum and especially the ghost walks. I understand that this initiative has been undertaken to boost funding, so do support them as this is well worth the fee! This wasn't cheap, tacky ghoulish entertainment, this was a heritage tour delivered intelligently and with humour. If you're a Peterborian, go and learn about your city. If you're not, go anyway - you'll be amazed at Peterborough's rich history!

Wonderful place. Would recommend to anyone, with a Peterborough connection or not. Lots of work must go on behind the scenes. The exhibits are fantastic, well thought out, with some special objects and items on display; the accompanying text is engaging and well written. Decent little cafe, too.

It's a good cinema with good seat and good service. With ample parking. But could you please turn your Air Con or fan on inside the screens. Its always warm inside and feels bit uncomfortable.

Great staff, great prices and a really good time! The Manager is somewhat uncomfortable, has some social issues perhaps that with some more training, will help him come out of his comfort zone and be more friendly and engaging with customers. A very clean cinema as well, given the fact that i'm a germaphobe lol, I was impressed! A great team indeed and looking forward to visiting again soon.

Showcase cinema was Nice neat and clean. They have provided sanitizer gel near each screen. Seats are comfy.

As an avid movie goer who has been frequenting here for years, facilities are great in the theatre. Very comfortable recliner chairs and spacious leg room and distance between the row in front/behind you so you can not feel too guilty about disrupting anyone when needing a mid movie lavatory visit. Huge free parking. Staff are friendly and professional and the favourite film alongside their name tags are a cool touch. Only down-side I can think of is buying food/drink on site is really overpriced so recommend bringing your own. But other than that, excellent!

Absolutely outstanding cinema, the seats are comfortable and everything is reasonably priced. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is because the service can be a little off but overall the staff are very friendly. It is one of the best cinemas you will ever go to.

Nice cinema: clean, comfy seats, lots on in different screens when we visited. Lost a star because refreshments were poor. Ordered sweet and salt popcorn but just got salt and the "Costa" is basically a tea machine dispensed into Costa brand cups. Can't really call it a Costa.

Best in the area. The nachos are just amazing. Sometimes I pop in just to get some and watch a movie at home. Special shoutout to Elliot for always giving the best service and being extremely helpful with my younger cousin last time.

Easy to book, pick seats and pay online. Easy entry using the ticket on your phone. The seats are excellent. Comfortable and sumptuous. Electrically adjustable. The sound is loud but not obtrusive, very good quality. Definitely recommended.

Easy to find, easy to park, everything clean and tidy, drinks and snacks extortionate, it was warmer than expected given the cost of energy at the moment and the cold weather clothing made it too warm. Biggest problem was VOLUME. At almost 70 my hearing's not the best, but you need earplugs to listen comfortably. The movie was rated 12A but I would not bring kids into this environment. please turn the volume down.

Technically, it gains one star and then loses one. We knew we'd left it a bit late to catch Fast X on the big screen, as all other cinemas had stopped showing it. So for the Showcase to keep it going, I wanted to give it 6 stars! All good, apart from my booked seat was bodged up with gaffer tape (no big deal, just moved across one as plenty of room/the seats there are good) and from the advertised start time, it took another 21.5 minutes until the movie actually began to roll! I thought it was generally 15 minutes of ads/trailers(?) Overall though, great.

Massively improved since it's early days. Improved sound, seating (adjustable with huge leg room) & screen definition. I made a mistake booking, thought I was booking for a Saturday, but purchased for a Friday, resolved with no issues & given almost identical seating arrangements. Staff were helpful & friendly. With the days where we barely have to leave the house with streaming & huge TV's it's still an experience to visit the cinema. I have consciously made the decision to visit the showcase more often, use it or lose it, support your local cinema.

If like me you haven't been to the cinema for a while, prepare to be astonished. The seats, all seats, fully recline and are actually supportive. Expected to be uncomfortable instead I want one for at home. Added advantage of getting a Costas. Monday morning so not busy.

The cinema itself is really good - the seats are high quality, good screen and sound quality. Now, the staff is the problem - no customer service and so slow! As in, you will miss the start of the movie if you want popcorn or snacks. Tonight the cinema was absolutely packed and the staff was acting as if they had a couple of people in the queue. One particular staff was walking so slowly behind the counter, I thought she was on slow motion. The managers were more worried with scanning the Insider cards than organising the staff. The bar had 2 staff and a queue of maybe 3 people - meanwhile the popcorn side had over 100 people queuing but they had over 3 tills unmanned. If you wonder how I noticed all of this - it’s because I had to wait 35 minutes to be served!!

Rude staff rude manager no warning to when we wouldn't be able to get snacks n drinks even though our film was the last showing. Tried to stop me coming back into the venue when I left to smoke in-between came to check the door locked behind me instead of just making me aware actually I wasn't able to leave the building? Yes will not return

Very comfortable large and reclining seats. Staff excellent as I had to change on line booking, which they did, but payment systems takes 2 charges then credits 1 - odd but fixed it's self in 1 day.

The cinema is great, very tidy and comfy. The staff service is pain free and they scan you through with ease. The best part of this cinema is the adjustable comfortable seats, much better than anything else that is local.

I had booked seats but one of the seat coverings was ripped to shreds, and none of the buttons worked to recline the seat at all. During the film, it was freezing cold but no staff came round at all during the 2 hours. Had to report it all after the film finished.

Enjoyed visiting my local cinema tonight, staff was friendly, coffee was costa :), leather reclining seats and film was perfect with sound ect.

Went to see Dune 2 tonight, film was great but screen 11 at the showcase let it down, the screen had a big green triangle about a meter across in the bottom left, very visable during dark scenes of which there are many in Dune 2, and a very blue cast to the shadows on the right hand side of the screen. To top it off the centre of the screen seems really dirty which is highly visable during bright scenes. 😕

Flag Fen is an important and interesting Bronze Age site. The archaeological park is nicely laid out and includes a replica of a Bronze Age roundhouse. That having been said there isn't an awful lot here and (so far) not much from the nearby Must Farm excavation. Certainly worth a diversion from the A1(M) but perhaps not a long journey in itself.

What a great Viking day out we all had at Flag Fen. The venue is a Bronze Age Archaeological site with replica huts and dwellings. It is easy to navigate your way around the site as it is flat with wide pathways. The Viking reenactment day is a great day out for people of all ages. The participants are all friendly and more than happy to explain their characters and the role they would have had in Viking society. It gives you a glimpse into the past as you wander around the encampment, seeing the variety of everyday Viking skills, making nets from home spun hemp rope, spinning and weaving, pottery, and blacksmithing. Then there are the battles, 50 a side, with swords, spears, and axes smashing into shields, gives you a taste of the peril of a hand to hand encounter.

It's a nice place. Takes you back in history and time. Lovely for an afternoon or morning. Nice place to have a picnic. I wouldn't spend all day there. Parking is free. Very little shop there.

Absolute Gem of a place. From fascinating artefacts to knowledgeable and friendly staff. Everything is so reasonably priced it's unreal. If I lived closer, I'd definitely stop here for some coffee and cake more often.

I put this on my run sheet, as anything pre-Roman is hard to find in the UK, but we know it was busy place. There is preserved evidence of a wooden fence line that indicated grazing and settlement happened here 4000 years ago. Not a great deal to see- and roads around Peterborough are difficult.

Really great afternoon out. Small enough for elderly parents to have a good walk about without getting exhausted. Parking is close to the building which has lots of seating and food options. Staff are super nice and can tell they are passionate about the site and its history. I highly recommend it when the weather is nice and want a nice walk and learn a bit of local history

This was our first visit after many years and whilst it was great to be back on a site that is so full of history, it was sad to see that only one of the three roundhouses has survived to date. The preservation hall is a definite must see as we found it quite amazing to be amongst evidence from over 3000 years ago! Parts of the site are in desperate need of tidying up which I'm assuming has been neglected due to lack of funding. It would be a shame to see a something that is so important to our history fall into ruin due to neglect and lack of funding. Its a great place for families and parking is free too which is a bonus. We'll definitely be back with a picnic soon, and hopefully Flag Fen will soon get the care and financial support it so desperately needs.

Great place to visit, friendly and welcoming staff, I found interesting is the reconstructed prehistoric landscape at the back next to the round house.

Visited here on a wet weekend. Managed to get around between showers. Lovely place lots of archealogical displays. Play area for children & a lovely cafe in visitors centre 😀

Peaceful setting in nature. I enjoyed the time visiting the Bronze Age and Iron Age houses, museums with archaeological findings and the souvenirs at the centre. There is a little play area for children. A bit slippery to walk around at rainy season.

Flag Fen was a great place to see what our ancestors were building over 3000 years ago in the local area. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Admission prices were reasonable too. Only negative were the lights were turned off over the star attraction (an ancient wooden causeway) which made it fairly difficult to study the excavation (see pics) and some of the paths and bridges were fenced off, preventing access. We read every information board on site and was round the whole site within an hour. Disappointed to not see the ancient breed of sheep anywhere on site today. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and have an interest in ancient human history and roundhouses.

Fantastic day out, super knowledgeable and friendly staff who are happy to spend time sharing their knowledge and answering questions. We spent 45 minutes sitting round the fire in a roundhouse tallking to one member of staff who was brilliant. Lovely little cafe too. We went without kids but there are lots of kid areas and playgrounds etc. Would highly recommend.

Came for the reinactment, stayed for the mead! Gorgeous scenery! Staff are very lovely. Worthy of multiple visits! 😁

The reason I took my guests there was because they were curious to see what was inside. Amazing history of the region available for exploration. I have heard about many school excursions here. Ideal environment for teaching pupils about the city's history laid out in a very interesting setting. Recommend to explore the place if you are interested in the history of the city.

I will put a disclaimer here - I visited during an excellent Viking re-enactment event, so my experience of the place was somewhat enhanced by that! However, Inxan say that if you go during a re-enactment event, it is a wonderful visit. There were attendants aiding with parking, quick access for pre-paid tickets, lots to see and do. The talk on the experimental archaeology was fascinating. The only thing that wpuld be better would bebif it was possible to see some of the recovered boats, rather than the vats they are currently being preserved in. Perhaps a vat with glass sides or some such.

A really enjoyable day out. Good value and perfect for half term. We especially enjoyed the pumpkin carving.

I absolutely love visiting Flag Fen. There's so much history just under the soil. The staff are all so friendly, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. Highly recommend a visit.

Visited today with my 8 year old grandson. Knowing how quickly he loses interest in things, I expected our visit to last around an hour. We stayed for 2 1/2 hours and could have stayed longer. Very interesting trip. Thankfully, I bought us both an annual ticket. I'm sure it will be well used. Staff all very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic day in the viking weekend, grounds not really wheelchair friendly but managed to get around 😞 k to chat with all the vikings at their tents. Went into the visitor centre and Fiona bless her was brilliant helped get the hot food over to the table and got me eating utensils.

Visited here today on a family ticket with 2 adults and 2 kids which was £10 and included parking. Firstly this place is behind a car park so when you first pull in it doesn't look the best, but the staff are lovely and helpful showing us the grounds and what's on display. The kids loved it! There are mini trains running outside but the entrance. Then you cross a bridge over a river then you can follow the trail to the other areas, it's not massive but does the job. Towards the end you can enter a small building which has a large model rail and a smaller one that kids can control the trains, they are all Thomas trains. There are toilets and two small cafes on site too. Great for an inexpensive day out! There was a proper stream train but we didn't get tickets for this so not sure where it goes but worth looking into, especially if you love trains!

I've always seen Railworld but never visited so it seemed like a good choice for a bright Saturday. We were given a nice welcome and a map of the area on arrival and paid what I think is a bargain price of £4 pet adult to enter. You can see a few old trains awaiting restoration close to the entrance plus an outdoor model railway and an area to sit and have a sandwich if you want to watch them and then a bridge takes you over the Nene. This side there is a lovely nature walk, an old signal box, a viewing area where you can see all the lines heading for Peterborough station, an inside area with learning and kids games and another room with a fantastic model railway. This was being taken care of by a young volunteer who really seemed to be enjoying what he was doing. It looked really pretty when the lights were dimmed and the lights in the houses on the model railway came on. This isn't a large place at all but it is a little gem of tranquility in a big city. Kids or adults with any interest in trains would love it. Even those without much interest would enjoy it. Small cafe on site too selling tea and sandwiches at low prices too!

Have given this 5 stars as it is impressive what Railworld Haven have achieved, especially the 'buy in' they have from volunteers which is really admirable. You can also see the potential in the place for any future developments they might pursue. We visited and got a family ticket, we hadn't really planned to come we popped into Peterborough for a break on a long trip home. Family ticket cost £10, and my son was very happy just to sit and watch the outdoor model railway track for 15 /20 mins...! Eventually we popped over the bridge and watched the mainline from the observation area, popped into the model railway shed and did some reading up in the eco building before taking a stroll round the wildlife haven area. Now the place is not massive and a trip here is unlikely to take all day - I think we were 2 hours in the end. My kids are young and more than happy watching / waving to the trains...! As an added bonus we had parked in their car park (it's very big!) and the lady who gave us the admit ticket said we could park as long as we wanted, and it's not far from the town centre... public car parks are easily going to cost a few quid so it really does make the ticket cost quite reasonable. I guess if you really don't like trains your not going to get as much out of a visit as we did, but if you do (or at least your kids do) then your onto a winner!!

The staff were lovely, the Miniature Railway and especially the Thomas & friends bit that the kids could operate, were fantastic, but sadly the Garden Modell Train Yard was (still) being refurbished, which we did not know about even though we had looked at the website (it's apparently on the news page, but further back in the year). The price for us as a family was totally acceptable (but in view of a major draw for the place not being available, could maybe be adjusted a bit) and parking is free (or £3 if you just want to park to visit the town)

Absolutely stunning place to visit! Little hiden gem right in a centre of Peterborough. Near quensgate shoping centre. Just mind blowing how this place runed just by volunteers in 30 years from junk abandoned coal yard became a heaven for wild life. Even if you are not in to trains its just a beautiful place to walk by the Nene river. With variaty of wild plants , bee hives, preserved old train railway relics. Choose from just sitting on some benches and enjoy nature, have a walk, spot trains, operate train models or learn abit of a history. Owner is down to earth person who will fill you in on history of this place usually you can spot him working along the volunteers and hes definitely will great you if you pass by.

Travelled by train from Lincoln with my two ages two and 12. It’s true what folk say, it’s a real hidden gem. The viewing platforms are ace, the model railways are stunning and nature trails are peaceful. Cute little cafe that has drinks, snacks and ice creams. Loads of picnic benches. We spend well over 3hrs and could have stayed longer but for our return train home. The entrance cost is so reasonable. £4 adults and only £2 for kids! Highly recommended.

Gem of a place run by volunteers. We need to keep places like this going! Lovely walk around the nature garden then the Model railway room is a must visit for model enthusiasts. They are currently working on the garden railway but it's shaping up nicely and can't wait to return in the summer when it's complete. Also some great places to watch trains! I'm not sure what to call this place Railway museum Model railway exhibition Wildlife centre Whatever it is its amazing. Frequent trains on the model railway which are interesting to watch and get changed around, some real locomotives to look at which will soon be operational on the next door Nene Valley Railway, and to top it all a viewing platform over the East Coast Main Line! WOW.

Omg what an amazing place. The volunteers are so kind and informative. I couldn't believe how big it was, so much to do. Beautiful wildlife areas, so many places to explore and sit quietly, picnic areas. So much to engage with. Rail stuff is soooo cool. Highly recommended to any age. Great price to get in, realised parking was free . Will be going back . Tranquil beautiful place . 💚

Lovely place to wander around on your own or with family and friends. So quiet so way to enjoy the gardens and get involved with the interactive areas. A little shop for refreshments too!

We hired a room for my son’s 5th birthday. A wonderful place to spend time with his friends enjoying the wildlife trail and model railway. Big thank you to all the volunteers working at railworld, who always greet you with a smile and are happy to answer any questions and make your visit a nice one.

An excellent day out, helpful friendly staff and plenty to see and do. Will have to come back to see the garden railway working as it was a wet day.

This was our second visit. First time we had a excellent day, my 2 year old really enjoyed watching the trains and became Thomas mad. Second time, we were greatly disappointed, on the way in we mentioned he was excited to see Thomas and the outdoor trains, at no point was it mentionedd that most had been damaged by the wind at Easter, and only one was running. Left after 30 mins with a disappointed boy.

Hidden Gem in the City centre of Peterborough ! A fascinating garden run by beautiful souls. The warm welcome, made my day. Friendly lovely staff all around the premises. Well maintained. We spent nearly 2 hours and yy children enjoyed every minute if it. The model trains indoor was super. Got to know the outdoor one is closed for refurbishing. Loved the wildlife, which includes frogs, birds and insects. Small waterfalls and perfectly located seating areas. What a Day we had. Recommend to all families. Hats off for the volunteers who are wotking really hard to keep this gem shining. ❤️🙏

I wanted a bird feeder as I have just set up a place for it....my friend suggested going here so I thought I'd try it....I found a great bargain and enjoyed walking around have some lovely things and the Cafe is a bonus

We visited Inflatanation with our granddaughter (aged 12). It was hard work doing all that bouncing but we had fun. Not sure we will go more than once though as the actual things to go on were pretty limited for someone heading into teenage. I think younger children would love it

Always clean and tidy. Great parking, many mother & baby as well as disabled parking bays. Great range of shops and activity places for both adults & kids. Feels like your in a little village, great atmosphere. Also has a convenient Aldi on the way out now too. A good hand wash car wash on the way out. Lockers for a delivery service round the back. Also handy it has it's own traffic light system to get out so you don't have to wait a long time to get out.

Visited the new Blue Diamond garden centre. We sampled their coffee. Mmm ,very nice. I reckon one of the best coffees we've had for a long time. And the scones are nice too. They have a nice selection of plants and we've spent a small fortune since they opened. Have a look.

This is more of a shopping experience than it was before. With many different departments if you want a quick gift! The garden centre side is much better organised with a larger selection of plants, shrubs and trees which look healthy and well looked after. I like the new cafe… especially the cake section!! As we were in the queue we were watching staff baking and icing the cakes and pastries on sale.

I have used Moor Street Station many times it's a very nice Station with 4 platforms

Its a well designed site, easy to walk around, plenty of space to sit down and take a moment. For disabled visitors, and for those who medicate, there are disabled facilities and I found a quiet space where I consumed my medical cannabis without issue. #medivapesafe

At the centre is Van Hage Garden Centre, which has a large shop area and a large plant and garden area. Also and excellent café with good affordable meals. There is also a row of retail units and more recently a large Aldi supermarket. Ample parking and well worth visiting.

The garden centre has recently changed hands and is now in the Blue Diamond family. They have refreshed the whole centre and it is very much improved. Excellent cafe and restaurant with reasonable prices. Plant selection is good and of real quality. Unfortunately the remainder of the site - the other smaller units - are mostly not yet up to the same standard but they do say they will be investing in them over time. Still well worth a visit.

First visit here, I was greeted by a number of good shops and places to eat and drink. It just so happened that it was the turn on of the Christmas lights...fire and ice display. The fireworks have been the best I've seen since the firework championships in Plymouth. Great display to music and people lot up on stilts. It was truly magical. I would definitely recommend that people visit here, especially for the turn on of the lights next year. Absolutely fantastic evening.

Didn't know this existed until we had an hour & half stop on a coach trip. It's massive and beautifully decorated for C'mas. Not cheap, tacky stuff either. We had breakfast, a good choice of items, and well priced, the eating area was big & very clean too.

Used to be a great place with a variety of shops and cafes, since then a vast Garden Centre /Homeware marketing machine of a place has come to dominate and most of the independent shops are gone, it all just looks rather sad.

Nothing particularly bad about the shops, but and it's a BIG but getting out of it is a nightmare the exit road is traffic light controlled and often even when the lights are green you cannot exit as the road that crosses is blocked. Today it took 25 minutes to get out car park!!! Can't think I'll be going again soon as the shops are only average.

Great entertainment venue! The seats were comfortable and there was enough room for people to squeeze by without standing up to let them pass. Clean toilets. Fun snacks. Highly recommend!

Absolutely fantastic show Me and my daughter loved it All the acts were brilliant and my daughter got to go on stage with joey the clown. Can't wait for the circus to come back next year and watch again. Isabel and Sophie were brilliant dancers. Thank you to everyone

We went to the "circus" of perdition arts, two adults and two children, and were completely bowled over by the first rate performances of every act, a truly brilliant experience. The theatre itself was well set up with plenty of sanitisers and staff to help everyone. Definitely highly rated, especially as it was all free!

Visited the Cresset for a pre-booked event. Was impressed with the facilities available. The visual and audio system was good . The staff were accomodating when we required access to a baby feeding room. They improvised and provided another facility for us.

One week ago we has our wedding at The Cresset. Has some fails but that's because wedding self it is little bit nervous moment. Overall everything was good. Our rooms was decorated perfect. Day before I saw rooms and get goosebumps. Staff very helpful and nice. Garden for taking pictures tiny but very nice. Thank you so much for making our day. For us has been decorated ceremony room then afternoon tea room and reception room. All staff done very hard work. And again thank you very much 😊 Inese&Liam

Large multi venue theatre with over 800 seats. The seats have recently been replaced and are on the small side, but comfortable. The view to the stage was clear and unobstructed. There is free parking onsite with an overflow area behind. There are plenty of drinks to be bought, either from the bar or adjoining pub where you can visit pre or post event. Its appearance is very much like a cinema.

80's Party at the Cresset. We have been to this event three times, the venue is well accommodating with security at the door, a bar and an impressive selection of disco lights... However we won't be attending this event again, myself, my wife and the group I attended with have seen a steady decline at this event over the years. As the night went on people were getting very drunk, lying on the floor spaced out, spilling there drinks all over the dance floor, trying to dance with other peoples partners when they were separated (wife's and husbands) and individuals roaming the dance floor solely to find women to dance with who clearly were just trying to have a good time and wanted to be left alone. I found it clear all this stopped me and my friends from enjoying the night. Won't be going again.

The staff were very helpful in arranging everything for a 50th birthday party. On the night they were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely recommend to family and friends arranging any event.

Easy to find and good bar and access to pub. The theatre is quite old and the seats are tiny! Very little leg room! Only one way in and out, making getting out or in Very, very slow!!! Sound was good and there was good view of the stage.

Had a great night watching Kevin Bloody Wilson Staff at cresset very helpful and efficient Car park was full when we got there so we were shepherded to a nearby car park by high Vis stewards

The show was Brilliant! From start to finish was an easy process. Getting tickets and choosing the seats that you want. There was Disability access too. (If needed) Very helpful and friendly staff! Staff that helped you to find your seat. Que went down quickly to get in the venue. Show started on time. Been quite a few times seeing different shows and everytime in different seats I could see the stage clearly. Very happy Would recommend.

Very easy to find. A large venue with lots of ushers to help. Large bar and access to pub bar next door. Clean loos. Sound excellent. The seats very narrow and close. Unfortunately I had a large person next to me so was perched on edge of my seat all night and it was uncomfortable. The overflow car park isn’t signposted, not in the dark anyway so just had to guess which way to go!

2 of my grandchildren participated in the CATS Matilda workshop and loved every minute of it. One of them had done the “six” workshop previously and now seems to have the bug! They are looking forward to the next workshop (hopefully there will be more) and £18 for a 6 hour session, I believe, is very good value for money. Brilliant!

Really enjoyed our evening at Cresset.Staff were very friendly and helpful, free car park and good toilet and bar facilities. Seating had plenty of leg room but did get a numb bum by the interval due to the hard cushions , otherwise would be 5 stars.

We saw the Pantomime Oz at the theatre here. It was an excellent, fun filled song and dance show. Suitable for children of all ages. Very entertaining!

It's a lovely venue. The staff are very friendly and helpful. My only criticism is the chairs were too small. The show Frankie's boys was excellent 👍

Saw Sarah millican who did a fab show. Its a shame they didn't take the opportunity to sort out the lack of space between the seats whilst fitting the new ones, no elbow room at all just like the old seats. The seats did look smart with the new flooring on the stairs, but that 1 small adjustment would have greatly improved the whole theatre experience for everyone

A nice venue, and always friendly staff. There can sometimes be an odd smell backstage, but it is expected as lots of performers and musicians come here - it's likely that the staff have an overflow of visitors. Been here twice, and the experience has always been enjoyable.

Great show at the Cresset last night. Comfy seating. Great sound. Kate Rusby was fantastic!

A fantastic place! So many great paintings!

We had a very lovely visit to Elton Hall. The house is a treasure trove of history and art and the gardens are beautifully kept. The guides in the room are very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the house. Just a sidenote, there is no parking onsite but you can park for free at the Bosworth Garden Centre which is right next door to Elton Hall. Also, the only cafe is at the garden centre. Make sure to check the website for opening hours as the Hall has very limited opening times and you have to book online before your visit.

Truly lovely garden especially in the summer. Not huge but well styled - is a sunken garden with pool and a flower garden with wisteria walk. Essential to book tickets online in advance even if quiet day or have free access via RHS etc. My sole issue is the poor signage - the actual sign for Elton Hall was obscured by foliage & only two signs from front gate to actual entrance and a lot of guess work, even the sign asking visitors to go to ticket desk in stewards room does not have an arrow to get you to turn to the right. Not good if visually impaired. Car park is with the garden centre. White gates are outside of the garden centre and are locked until 2pm (tickets suggest can arrive 15mins before booked time but for 2pm tickets you cannot enter until gate unlocked). No seating at gate whilst waiting. Despite all of that I enjoyed my visit at the garden.

I enjoyed my visit at the end of July , The borders were beautiful and the pots. Amazing flowers glorious colours,and buzzing with wildlife .. certainly recommend a visit here ..

Beautiful house and gardens. The house is not often open to the public so check their website. Parking is in the next door garden centre where there is an excellent cafe. All thoroughly recommended.

Fantastic place to visit with great guides to retell the history of the house. The library and gardens were especially impressive! Would definitely recommend.

I twice tried to visit, but the site was closed. I am unable to recall the reason. The last time, I was able to bring my guest from overseas. Helpston is home to John Clare Cottage, a museum. The English poet John Clare was born on July 13, 1793, and died on May 20, 1864. He was born into a family of agricultural labourers, and he gained recognition for his joys and laments over the destruction of the English countryside. In 2004, the cottage underwent restoration, and the gardens were redesigned for ease of access. When you visit the cottage, you should tour the three main parts of the gardens. The first has a life-size statue of John Clare and a variety of herbs scattered across the courtyard. An enthusiastic group of volunteers looks after all the gardens; if they are on duty, any one of them will be pleased to talk with you about the gardens as you stroll about the borders. You should definitely take guests who are curious about the history of the area here. There's a little cafe there with delicious cakes and light lunches. I took several pictures but was unable to find them. I will be visiting the site again and will post some photos to share. Opening hours on their website: Mondays and Thursdays 10am until 2pm

Really excellent place to look round and get an insight into the life and times of poet John Clare. With a nice garden and super coffee shop all staffed by friendly helpful people, the coffee is superb and we fully recommend the carrot cake. Well worth a visit.

An absolute gem! Very creatively & educationally restored & preserved cottage with a small garden in an attractive little village. Lovely café serving soup, scones, made-to order rolls, & cakes. Not far from Burghley, Stamford.

Super place to visit. The Pantaloons' outdoor performance of Alice in Wonderland, was, as always with The Pantaloons, entertaining, amusing and a brill evening out.

Always loved John Clare's poetry. He stands out as one of our finest poets for insights into nature and the human condition 👍

Without getting too pretentious, this short visit has helped me to bring the external problems of life back out where they belong, and not stuck within. John Clare's sufferings continue to be a means of solace to some of us now. The exhibiting is straightforward, and not so long as to make the visitor get fatigued by the experience. The staff provided friendly, prompt service, and the atmosphere was quite cosy too.

Finally got around to visiting here! Took advantage of a Christmas craft fair that was being held there. Would love to go back and visit when it's empty as it's a lovely place, very tastefully renovated and with a homely and cozy atmosphere. There's a neat little cafe that looks a brilliant place to grab a coffee and cake in the summer. There's a small cottage garden out the back and a large dovecote that's been beautifully restored. Really enjoyed our visit and will return again soon.

John Clare was born in the village. There are lots of things about him in the village about him. Really nice place to have a coffee.

The best scones you've ever tasted and John Clare's simple life - his struggle with himself, his relationship with nature, his daily life in a thatched cottage in an English village - recreated for you to imagine him living, breathing, writing where you are standing.

Very informative and interesting collection telling about the life of this Northamptonshire poet set the cottage that was his home for the first part of his life. Well laid out with audio and printed guide to take around the cottage and the lovely peaceful garden. Delicious homemade food in the cafe and friendly helpful staff on hand. A walk around the village and a visit to the church and graveyard are an added pleasure, with accompanying map and details pertaining to John Clare's time in the village.

We had our wedding blessing in the garden here in June and it was everything we hoped it would be. Zoe and Sharon were super helpful leading up to the day, very communicative and friendly. On the day itself they were so helpful and everything went off without any problems. Very happy!

Attended the Peterborough v Middlesbrough match this past weekend and enjoyed my visit to the stadium. Easy access, friendly staff and even got to meet ‘Peter Burrow’. A real throwback. Nice team shop. Really enjoyed my visit.

Tidy ground. Nice modern stands and some a little outdated. Overall a good ground with personality. Visited the ground on an unbelievably wet day. Good win that day.

Good view, lucky to get seats with lots of legroom. North stand is very old, wooden seats that aren't very comfortable though.

First visit to this stadium as an away fan . First impression is that the stadium has got some character easy access to the ground and plenty of food outlets both in and out of the stadium . Programme and food is by card only parking is just across the road from the stadium and £4 all day which is good and plenty of space staff are also friendly and helpful 👍

2nd visit...17-8-2021...big improvement in the stadium, though the away seating in the main stand definitely needs upgrading. Love the home stand...generates a great atmosphere for the home team....so a draw for us I feel was a good result. 1st visit Easter 1976...0-0 draw.

Proper football club, proper football ground, exactly the kind of place I like to be, between three and five, on a Saturday afternoon... Just wish there were more like this, rather than this being an endangered species. Hopefully I will get the chance to see my team win here once, before they demolish it, and move closer to the river, and tarmac over lots of green land, if what I read is true. You Bury your past at your peril, but football clubs never learn

Very nice ground, and now with the new motorpoint stand. It is a family friendly club, and is run on a good firm financial basis. Darren McAnthony and his partners buy quite a few non league players and turn them into an even better standard of player, before they sell them on at a healthy profit. Although the business plan is very good, this does not detract from the team playing some excellent attacking football over many years. As a Bolton Wanderers fan, (and have just attended the match this weekend) I can appreciate the way this club is run. Keep doing it your way, and you should have many more successful years ahead.

Fascinating place to visit. These paintings may seem nothing special but they are dated between 1320 and 1340. Given that some of them are religious, it is amazing that they survived the Reformation, let alone to today. You have to climb the wooden stairs outside, to the first floor, to enter the building. See the Photos, if you are concerned. The stairs inside are the usual tight affair, normally found within castles. For those of you with younger children, there might not be enough here to entertain them. At the moment, you have to book and your time will be limited to the start of next tour but it is more than enough time. The staff on site are very knowledgeable and survived our questions.

Absolutely fantastic place to go and see rare surviving 13th century wall paintings, and the tower itself. It's tucked away in the middle of houses, so very hard to see and you cant see it from the road, but it's worth the £6 entrance fee. The tour guide was excellent and a fountain of knowledge, very friendly and positive about the tower and history. Only disappointment was not being allowed up to the roof because its unsafe, and also explained that it overlooks many private houses and gardens. Shame but is what it is. There is 2 short flights of external stairs to gain entrance to the tower, which means there is a lower floor, it was explained that its used for storage and there isn't anything to see in there anyway. There is a toilet on site, very tight fit, but serves it's purpose for able bodied, unfortunately it isn't accessible for wheelchair users, and neither is the tower as the stairs are very slim in width and very steep. Parking is adequate on Woburn close, a short 1 minute walk from the tower. There is s small tray of gifts available to purchase, but no refreshments, bring a bottle of water on hot days it would get very warm in the tower itself. Worth a visit, the tour guides make it worthwhile.

Amazing tower with incredible medieval paintings on walls. If you are a history buff, this is for you. The staff give you an interesting talk about the tower, the attached but inaccessible manor house and ways of life in the medieval period. Staff members were kind and helpful and more importantly informative. Well worth an hour if your time.

The tower itself you can only explore the inside of, and it's only two levels, so won't take you a lot of time, but the ground floor wall paintings are worth the visit alone. The volunteers give you a very detailed description into the meaning and history of the walls and their paintings. It's really really impressive to see art from 1320-1340 up close like this.

This was exceptional tour of Longthorpe tower. The staff was so knowledgeable. I was impressed with the artwork on the walls. Definitely worth a visit.

Remarkable place. Wall paintings from the early 1300s are rare, rarer still outside a religious building. V helpful friendly volunteers

What a treasure of a find. Has some of the oldest medieval wall paintings in Europe. We were very lucky to have a lady there to welcome us and bring to life the history of the tower and the explanation of the painting on the walls. The way she talked about the art just showed the love and pride of the history of the tower. She just drew us in. Very interesting place and well worth the visit. Hopefully you will also meet this lady who will emerse you with her passion

Very rare medieval wall paintings, amazing. Book for tour, all in one room. English Heritage own, see website to arrange as not open very frequently.

The Tower itself is a couple of rooms over 2 floors, it's the local guides that bring it to life and their explanations of the history and of course the paintings. We booked a time slot online with no hassle in the morning as English Heritage members. It wasn't busy and we had a 'personal' tour from someone who clearly had a passion for this remarkable place. Thoroughly enjoyable and a insight into history through the very real paintings in the Tower.
