Park is not too big but very beautiful.Boat ride is a highlight of this park. It's not expensive. You can enjoy seeing or probably touching hundreds of fishes during your boat ride. There are small playgrounds in between so while you relax kids can play. There are some other activities (car ride for kids, kids mini ferry - obviously you have to pay). There were waffle, popcorn stalls and some restaurants(Though we were disappointed with the food) where you can enjoy your lunch. Overall good experience.

We loved our visit to the Zoological Gardens Karlsruhe. The animal shows were a lot of fun. During the sea lion show the largest sea lion jumps almost all of the way out of the water to grab a fish from the zoo keeper. All of the animals looked well kept and had spacious enclosures. We especially liked watching the Red Panda. The Zoo also has a nice sized pond that you can ride a boat on and several beautiful gardens. We parked at the Congress-Zentrum park house which is only a couple minutes away from the zoo entrance.

The experience was great. Lots of different animals, there are some goats in the beginning who you can stroke, beautiful green park. There's also a possibility to take a boat ride (the boats have roofs, so you won't be exposed to the sun). Some playgrounds for kids at different spots of the park also some other activities like train rides etc. Took us around 2 hours to walk through everything. Overall a great experience, my kid (almost 3 y.o.) loved it :)

Nice combination of park and zoo. Nice to wander or even make a 20/40 min boat tour in the Gondoletta. Entrancefee is just 13 euro. Boat tour and minicars cost extra. The lay out of the park is lovely and well maintained.

Really enjoyed going to this zoo. So much to see and the animals all seemed very happy. Great day out and the animals were very active. Only issue was it seemed like no stalls to get any water were open which was disappointing had to walk to the other side of the park to find a drink.

Superbly organized and maintained zoo. Recommended times to visit during summer or spring time. As the lakes are not filled with water, which fulfills the view with greenery and birds all around, summer is best time. Went there during december though. Some of my best picks are here. Let's get wild with this review of the Karlsruhe Zoo! We ventured out to the zoo on a chilly Saturday morning and boy, was it a wild experience! The good news was that we had the zoo almost all to ourselves, as the cold weather seemed to have driven away most of the other visitors. With free street parking and a short walk to the entrance, we were ready to embark on our animal adventure. Despite being on the smaller side compared to other zoos in the area, the Karlsruhe Zoo certainly packs a punch. It boasts heavy hitters like majestic elephants and mighty polar bears, which were definitely a sight to behold. We were impressed with how well the animals were taken care of, and the relatively clean condition of the zoo. Now, let's talk food. We stopped for lunch at a restaurant on site, and while it was typical quality for a zoo restaurant, it did the job of satisfying our growling stomachs. However, the real gem was the crepe stand near the petting zoo area - their crepes were the perfect sweet treat to indulge in during our animal adventure. It's worth mentioning that the zoo is on the older side, but don't let that deter you. We saw construction underway, which is a clear sign that the zoo is making improvements and aiming to keep up with the times. Overall, we recommend checking out the Karlsruhe Zoo if you happen to be in the area. However, we wouldn't recommend making a long journey just to visit the zoo. While it's definitely a fun experience, we feel it's more of a half-day adventure rather than a full-day excursion. So, hop on over and get ready to go wild!

The zoo is very good for the kids and the one can enjoy very well and spend a day easily. I find the boating very attractive with reasonable price.

Small cozy zoo. We can say that this is not only a zoo, but also an ordinary public park for walking and relaxing on the lawns and among Japanese bushes. Lots of play areas for children.

While some areas of the zoo provide insightful glimpses into animal habitats, others feel cramped and uncomfortable, with too many animals confined into small spaces. Witnessing a deceased newborn meerkat among its companions was pretty distressing. Despite this, the zoo has beautiful gardens. The prices on the website do not match those at the box office.

What a magnificent place. The most impressive animals for me were the bats. You can stand in the middle of them and they fly around you without touching you. That was epic. There was a lovely red headed cockatoo who flew straight at us and chatted to us for a long time so charming.

Not a fan of zoo as the animals are caged for no fault of theirs. But the garden is brilliant to explore. The autumn 🍁 added colours. Can easily spend 4-5 hours exploring the garden itself

A very relaxing and interesting place to visit or just walk around. It might not be the biggest zoo but it is quite modern and most of the animals can be seen. There are restaurants and stalls that sell snacks. They have a kids playground and some boats to ride on the lake with. Lots of green spaces for families to play on.

Beautiful and clean park, filled with lots of adorable and interesting animals. Located directly across the street from the main Train Station making it very easily reachable with public transportation. The atmosphere is very inviting and the park is beautifully decorated. Bathrooms are kept clean and tidy. Pricing is reasonable for this place and I can highly recommend a visit.

A very nice and historical palace to visit with the family and children. This place is full of information and the staff is friendly and helpful. The view from the tower is beautiful and magnificent. The gardens are well maintained. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are going to Karlsruhe.

Big disappointment. The building itself is beautiful. We were expecting nicely renovated rooms inside and to be able to see what the palace used to look like originally. Instead it’s a bloody museum. Couldn’t see anything from the original interior. The exhibitions themself were placed in a very boring way. You can make a museum interesting but here I feel like didn’t even try. Top of everything nothing was translated to English in the exhibition. You go to a museum in Czechia or Poland or anywhere you see English descriptions. All together, beautiful building turned into a boring museum. Felt like I was in a school field trip again but I volunteered to do so

Whist the gardens and the Palace are wonderful and the museum packed with fascinating artifacts , the staff could do with a lesson in friendliness and perhaps put aside their phone and watching tik toks

Beautiful place. The museum is good. Unfortunately, for international travellers, there is limited translation. The view from the tower was worth the climb. The surrounding garden is serene.

Beautiful garden and spacious to enjoy for families

Visited on a sunny day, went up to the top, the view is perfect, you can see the symmetry of the architecture, be informed that the stairs to the top can be a bit tough. The museum itself literally exhibits everything, from local history to worldwide artefacts, even industrial products. But it is fun visiting and exploring.

Beautiful building with so many artifacts to look at! We were pleasantly surprised at the amount of exhibits in the museum. It definitely exceeded our expectations. Stunning works of art and the price was reasonable. €8/adults I wish there would have been a cafe or something there to have a coffee afterwards but there was nothing we could find.

I did not know the interior of the castle, as I went very early and it only opens to the public at 10 am. We took a walk through the well garden. The day was inviting, as the temperature was pleasant and the sun reigned, this makes all the difference for those who live in cold countries :). There is underground parking with plenty of spaces at an affordable price. The only negative point is the garbage left by the uneducated people who were there the day before. There is nothing worse than human beings who litter such a beautiful environment.

A pretty cool spot to see Karlsruhe and its surrounding area.... beautiful...lots of obscene graffitis on the wall lining up the tower. 😅😅

A very beautiful place with a great view of Karlsruhe. they have a small turmbergbahn which takes you up the slope.or else you can just climb the steps(rather steep in my american opinion) on a sunny day it is a great view, there is a restaurant on top and some ruins which let you view from an even higher height.

A real fun way to spend an afternoon! I would totally recommend taking the Bergbahn as well because it’s kinda fun. It seems to be really popular for children, so I would take my family if they were here with me. Still a great time!

The game show today certainly brought back a lot of childhood memory. Many cool devices and installations on display to demo AI. Kids just love it.

Awesome place with impressive architecture. We got lucky and the exhibition from the Kunstmuseum was available at the same place. The video game and Renaissance exhibition totally worth it. Other events are available like Cinema and temporary exhibitions, workshops and more.

Interesting art place, recommend to visit even if you don't understand some stuff like me.

The Heinz Mack exhibition was amazing! $6 euro ticket for students - takes about an hour and half to experience it. But the museum it’s self is huge

Modern, fascinating, and intriguing is what I would say use if I was to describe it in 3 words. It took me 2.5 hours to cover the BioMedien section only. It was mainly about connecting biology with artificial intelligence in very unique, artistic ways. Mind-blowing!

Best place in Karlsruhe for sure (at least during the cold months). It has standard areas which are entertaining and very interesting to get to know (I don't want to spoil anything but there are games involved). Many exhibitions are changed pretty often, which makes it exciting to come back regularly.

I loved this place! Everyone finds something interesting! 2-3h can be spent easily! Medialounge is fantastic for work/study and is accessible to everyone! Electricity and games exhibitions are top for kids and adults!

I really wanted to enjoy the museum because the exhibitions were really interesting, but what completely ruined my experience was the treatment I received from the lady at the ZKM information stand (in the videogame area). I was asking for the exit gate, and instead of giving me an answer, she proceeded to mock me in front of her young colleague. That treatment is completely unacceptable to me. I hope that you will also provide more indications for non-German speakers.

Great media arts museum with current exhibitions of international artists and a truly impressive renovated building…management is superb except for Corona consciousness, not a single hand sanitation dispenser in the entire building works!

There are many great museums in Europe. This is not one of them. Unless you have a special interest, this museum can be safely skipped. That said, the current special exhibit, "Goddesses of Art Nouveau", is pretty awesome.

It was a great experience. However, more info in English about the artifacts would have been greatly appreciated. There are various collections from ancient civilizations, byzantine, Renaissance through the industrial age and early modern era. On the lower ground floor, there are a few interactive desks where you can select a particular artifact, read the description and look at its high-quality pictures. It comes in handy when you want to look closer into the details of those tiny artifacts. And lastly, give it at least a few hours to explore the whole museum!

Nice exhibition especially about the Baden area but unfortunately a lot of information was not translated into English. Difficult for foreigners to experience the museum…

Not English friendly like other German museums. The personnel of the museum told me:"If you want to visit a museum in Germany, you should speak German". After I told him other museums in Germany did have English, he became frustrated and insulted me and my country. Since the personnel doesn't speak English, this guy became quite a clown and continued to insult me in German. I'm not surprised anymore after reading the comments from years ago that said the reception was rude. I tried to report them for the racist speech but got no answer.

If you are spending time in Karlsruhe, this is good for a couple of hours. I especially liked the view from the tower.

A very mixed experience. 5 stars for the Ancient Greek collection, some thoughtful displays (for those able to read German) and excellent artefacts (for all!). I spent over two hours here, but moving on to the upper floor was told by an unfriendly, abrupt member of staff that I couldn't enter the exhibition because I was wearing a jacket - which I had worn all the time in other galleries. Onwards to newly conceived galleries, where trendiness overcame the display concept. Here, one chose an electronic key for English or German and presented it at each display point. The monitor then displayed text in the chosen language. Now simple bilingual display boards would have been simpler, much cheaper, and more user-friendly, as one could read at one's own speed, and much more information could be presented. The video display presented text at about one third of my reading speed, so I soon gave up on the whole business, there was effectively little information available in any case. Trendiness rules, not effective communication. Contrast the excellent display on the Labours of Herakles in the Greek section, for example (only in German), for example. Worse was to come - the next room had wall shelving up to a high ceiling, full of unlabelled artefacts. Pure posing, not serious museum design. Zero communication. I left the museum rather sad, despite having enjoyed most of my time there very much - in just one section.

This was a fabulous experience, huge museum 3 floors, the tower visit was awesome, the garden grounds was beautiful of course, naturally its wonderful. Its a must see in KARLSRUHE.

If you have in mind to visit this one, place do that you can make some nice pictures.

The museum is inside the palace and it is quite nice. At the entrance you can find a booklet in French and English which translate the text in German. The topics are very interesting and we'll explained. We went up the tower, so proud we did it because the view is wonderful ! We really see the axes on which the city was built on 😊

It's OK. Well laid out museum and varied collection. We really liked the global citizenship display. It's not an "exciting " museum for kids but it's a good value walk around for 30 mins.

The Museum is great for educational purpose and also very entertaining. It is not so big as in Berlin Natural History Museum but it has all the great section. Minimum 3 hours visit is necessary.

It's very well maintained. Fishes are beautiful and enjoy large space to swim. Kids enjoy it a lot. It combines amazingness with very thorough natural content. You can learn about minerals and stones too! Top hint: it has a cafeteria on the first floor with nice view to the street and public square.

Very nice exhibitions, unfortunately they all are either in German or French, not in English. This museum has live exhibitions as well. On the second floor of the museum the air is very warm.

A great mix of minerals, breathing and post breathing animals. Well displayed, fun and well cared for. The staff was friendly and though we had to use Google translate to read the signs (as they are only in French and German) we still had a great time. A shout out to the guy who was cleaning the Axolottl's water. He is truly a gem for taking time to talk to us about the Axolottls in the tank.

I recently visited the Natural Museum and I must say I was pleasantly surprised! The museum offers an amazing collection of artifacts from all over the world, with a focus on natural history. The exhibits are incredibly informative and well-curated, and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. The interactive exhibits were especially engaging and I learned a lot about the natural world as I explored the museum. I would highly recommend the Natural Museum to anyone interested in learning more about the natural world.

Excellent Museum. Lots of animals (alive or just an example), very interesting. The kids really enjoyed it, adults too. Prices are very fair - free for kids up to 17, 5 euro per adults. A must see place! Well done.

Highly recommended! Visited with children there and with baby stroller also wheelchairs can move easily. My daughter was very enthusiastic about the octopus. The staff there is very friendly and helpful and the extra exhibition was really worth it. highly recommend

I was able to get my ticket quickly without waiting in line during a weekday visit. No crowds. My favorite exhibition was the regional flora and fauna which showed native mammals and birds. The models were so realistic!! The models looked like they were ready to fly or pounce on a prey - beautiful arrangements! I also found the world of insects exhibition very fascinating. There are several other exhibits that will interest kids and adults.

Main exposition is free, definitely worth visiting. "Zoo" part is just great, super modern, aquarium is breathtaking. However fossils part wasn't that interesting, so I can't recommend it for that one.

The museum is located directly in the center of the city next to Ettlinger Tor. It has really great exhibits and is very educational. Worth a visit if you have time and are interested in science. You can only pay with cash (unless you have a German debit card) and it is 5€/person.

Nice place to spend a couple hours. Definitely it is worth visiting for the Vivarium and Aquarium if you like animals
