This viewpoint is a nice stopping point before crossing/driving across the bridge to the island. I believe it’s one of three largest bridges in Japan. It has free parking and a staircase leading to the beach.

The view on solem rock and the bridge from this side is really nice and much better in my opinion than from the other side. You can also see quite a few big fishes from the bridge.

Beautiful island, bring snacks. One local wouldnt let us done in because our temp what high, we were out in the sun for 2 hours so that sucked we couldnt get out of the sun to eat but the drinks were refreshing. Go early, it got busier towards the afternoon.

This bridge is located as the entrance to the Heart Rocks area. The view point area has about 20 cars parking lot. Crowded travelers visit here before going to Heart Rocks .

This place is gorgeous! I brought my wife here and the sunset is beautiful! Even during the day the water is a light blue hue. The beach does have some trash on it sometimes but besides that I find the area to be amazing for pictures, drones, or people looking to sightsee

Good spot for viewing the bridge and the emerald green sea. If you were caught on a typhoon and rainy weather just like me, you can also view from your car.

A bit overrated. Just a normal bridge connecting Kouri Island with the mainland. Yes there are blue waters but that is all over Okinawa. We made a stop & had an ice cream by the small beach overlooking the bridge. Not something I would do again. Maybe if nearby it's worth a stop.

Great view and great drive along the bridge! Not tooo far from the south of Okinawa so much shorter and drive there still provided simple but good view after exiting the expressway but incomparable to ride up further northwards to Cape Hedo. The view of the bridge was amazing though! I went there just for the sunset at Kouri Ocean Tower so didnt explore the island much.

Nice chill place to visit.

As castles go this one's a little different but never the less impressive. The open space and views are awesome, and the walls are wider and longer than expected. The site has explanation signs in multiple languages including English, Chinese, and Korean. There is also a museum but depending on time it might not be possible. If you're part of a tour group don't expect to do both the museum and site. Overall it was a good experience though

Castle ruins registered with UNESCO Heritage. Nice walk around the ruins but the Cicadas are noisy. Good view of the sea and it's very windy and cool now in October. Worth visiting and you can easily spend about 45mins there to enjoy the breeze and peace.

600¥ for a nice walk through the ruins. There are a few signs with information here and there but mostly you just look at the scenery. Being here while the cherry blossoms are in bloom was definitely a highlight! Multiple parking lots in the area and shops with food and souvenirs next to the ticket counter (definitely check out the ceramics store!!).

It was a nice place to visit but quite underwhelming unless you understand more of it's historical importance. We went on a cold day in December but they say the best time to visit is during Okinawa cherry blossom season. Make sure you go to the museum before you visit the walls to learn a little more about the history.

Very nice walk and view, made friends with a cat. You can see a part of the castle without buying tickets. But in my opinion it's worth it to buy tickets and see the rest of the ruins.

Interesting to learn about how the castle was laid out. Very different from the castle in the European context. Definitely interesting to walk about to understand it's history. There is also a drink seller just outside the entrance to the ruins...it is a drink made of brown sugar, which you can try, and if interested, buy the whole bottle. We also bumped into an old lady who was picking berries off the trees in the area...the berries are edible, but you have to pick the red ones, which are sweet.

Way out of the way and off the beaten path but an excellent choice for a visit in the farther north of Okinawa. Depending on the time and weather you are likely to be the only ones on the grounds like we were and you get to experience them in the best setting. The ruins are expansive and with the historical signs quite interesting, walk around and imagine what a defensive stronghold the castle would have been. Sadly someone can always just open the backdoor.

A very beautiful historical site embedded in nature with many explanations which are available in english. It is easy to access from Motobu by bus. I was almost alone on the site during my visit. I walked in the forest back to Nakijin where there is a path leading to a watchtower ruin.

World Heritage site of ancient Ryukyu Kingdom. It's one of the most preserved castle on the island. The view from the top is unmatched. There's also a little museum near by for additional history and background information. Gift shops and cafes also available here.

If you love learning about history, this place is awesome. The views are beautiful and the staff are all very nice. The signs have English and Chinese translations under the Japanese, so you know what everything is.

It is one of the attraction spot in Okinawa. The park is famous for Sakura and ruins of castle. The park also has few games and food stalls. The park usually have big space for parking and there is entry fees for the park.

This was beautiful. I was lucky enough to attend during the cherry blossoms. The food trucks had amazing options, the gift shops for so much fun to go through, very kid I feel so incredibly lucky that I was able to visit this incredible.

Beautiful castle. Lots of food trucks and shops to get food and snacks. Don’t forget ice cream. The cherry blossom 🌸 trees are just starting to bloom. So the next week or few weeks from now the trees will be beautiful! Still beautiful now with the little flowers out. Just a beautiful place to see and walk through. The views are amazing! Phenomenal experience that was more mysterious than enlightening of the Three Kingdom Period. Absolutely beautiful during the Cherry Blossom blooming. Makes you wonder what it was like for the Ryukens of the time period.

The self driving golf carts with the infomercial about the island was a treat. They have a nice restaurant with outdoor seating and other goodies. The sea shell museum was impressive. Then the different levels for viewing was worth the price of the admission.

Autonomous golf cart winds up the hill through waterfalls, small ponds and lush greenery. A prerecorded guide shares history, trivia, and points out focal points. Views from the tower are spectacular. Gift shop has samples of local goods. Pictures cannot do justice to the beautiful colors of the water.

What a beautiful place to visit and have a drink! On a clear, sunny day the view of Okinawa over the water is absolutely priceless. The shell museum and shops are an added bonus but you come for the view. The golf cart ride up is super fun too and surprisingly long! This is an easy activity and a fun way to spend an afternoon!

Tower on Kouri Island with a great view of the bridge connecting the island. Entrance fee is 1000¥ for adults which comes with a ride on an autonomous golf cart up the hill. It may be a nice gimmick but also somewhat unnecessary on this island. Also there are 2 places where they take a picture of you (and also already have them printed out to show and sell to you - kind of a waste). The experience is somewhat boomerish to be honest. I'd rather skip this, walk up the few steps and pay less to just enjoy the view. I recommend to just visit the rooftop terrace of the coffee & snack place just down the road.

Great experience and beautiful views. The golf cart ride up to the top of the tower was really neat and you learn a lot about the island. The sea shell museum was way more interesting than I expected. Once you get to the top of the tower, the views are hard to beat.

Spectacular view Awesome place to visit. There are artifacts and ornaments too for visitors to buy from as a souvenir or gifts. That's like a Meuseum where we can explore and buy things. There were automatic vehicles to take us to and from tower for higher view. We have to climb upto the main viewing deck tower with the help of either stairs or lift both are available. There is a ringing bell at the top of the viewing deck. The view from up there is just sublime and tantalizing. It's a must go visit place when you are in Okinawa.

Its an hour drive from Kadena but its all worth it. You’ll enjoy riding the golf cart that no one is driving. The view and the food is GREAT! We had so much fun! Also if youre a Pokemon Fan you can ask the receptionist to have a sticker and its a good souvenir.☺️☺️

The attraction is very fun, it has an automated car where you can see the view going up the hill, super fun. Then you see a shell musseum, with lots of colorful different shells. As I love see animals, I was very interested. Then you go up to the tower to see the panoramic view of the ocean and take pictures. I liked the attraction very much. Although it is a bit expensive thinking the time it takes, we paid 1,000 for something one takes 30 to 40 min. Other attractions in Okinawa like the tropical garden, it was only 700 and it takes longer to visit. If the price was between 700 to 800 it would be a more fair price.

An interesting site to visit if you are interested in getting up on a high point and viewing the ocean, then this is a place for you. As u get there, a cart will automatically drive you up to the ticket purchase counters. Then, after some walk through the shops and elevators, u will treat to the top of the tower st the viewpoint

A space to observe the Kouri Island from height. The shells museum is gorgeous hoping that it has more! Fun with self-driving cart and the route to entrance, I think great activity when visiting Kouri Island especially during winter time when the island is so quiet and less activities

It was a nice view at the top made for nice photos. Alittle pricey but it was a beautiful day and the kids had fun . They have a seashell display that’s pretty nice before you actually go up the tower for the view. Not bad enjoyed it

Nice staycation spot. The water is beautiful, and the view is amazing. It can become a bit crowded, but other than that, it's a nice place to relax and enjoy the moment.

A good place to spend 2 to 3 hours and avoid the heart of the summer during day time. I bought the tickets at the entrance and it was cash only. The views going up into the museum and the automatic golf carts are pretty. The display of different varieties of shells is the biggest I've ever seen, some of them are very unique and beautiful in my 6-year-old loved it. They also have nice crafts and souvenirs in different resale areas. Going up the tower was nice as they're different observation spots up to the fifth level. There was an elevator accessible but we took the stairs. Once you leave the tower there is a restaurant and also an ice cream parlor.

When planning for this Okinawa trip, many blogs recommended a visit to Kouri Ocean Tower. So decided to visit on my way back from Cape Hedo. Interesting concept they have of ferrying customers from car park to the tower entrance using an automated system of gold carts! Me and my wife quite enjoyed this short automated ride! In the tower, there is a mini sea shell museum displaying their sea shell collection which I estimated maybe close to a thousand pieces. The most spectacular part is of course the open view of the East China Sea at the 4th floor. Before leaving, we also picked up some tasty pineapple flavour cookies. Loved this place!

I first saw this on a Japanese reality show ‘The future diary’ so of course I wanted to go and see it! Boy there were tons of people there! Given it was a weekend and it was low tide so you see the whole rock formation! My daughter actually said it looks more of a whales tail than a heart 😉

The parking is free but a short walk away from the entrance. The walkway was recently paved for easier access to the beach. This location is all about the Instagram worthy, selfie photos 🤣

Not worth a visit. Just 2 rocks battered by nature that look like a heart. We actually saw many others throughout Okinawa. The beach has thick sand & the waters are rough so you can't do much. Isn't that big as well. Plenty of parking however there is a 100 Yen fee. I really don't see the hype or need to see it.

A very beautiful spot. It's a small secluded cove with nice and soft sand and as a background you have the rocks. I came late in the afternoon and the sunset was to the left side of the cove, but the lighting was still nice at that time. It seemed like it was getting high tide, but still accessible and able to walk around. There are many places where you can park, you just have to pick one and it is by honesty code, drop 100 to 300 yen depending where you park. There are a couple stands to buy drinks and snacks. There was a place that had showers but you have to pay by putting coins for the water, 200 yen.

Not the best for swimming so just come at low tide to enjoy walking by the rocks and seeing the blue fish in the water pools. It's a bit of a hike through some bushes so def come prepared with sandals and tshirt.

No tickets required. You just donate 100 Yen to the parking jug. Be prepared to walk down a hill and for a very sandy beach.

It’s a rock that vaguely resembles a heart. Something to see if you are nearby, not worth a special trip. The first parking lot you come to (on the right) is 100 Y and has an ice cream shop, soda vending machines and a bathroom. Pay by putting money in the vase as you head towards the vending machines. If you drive another 50 feet there is a parking lot on the left for 300 Y with no facilities. To get to the heart rock, walk down the rocky path next to the 300 Y parking lot. It is initially covered with crushed rock. Not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs. The path then turns into a very steep concrete sidewalk, covered in sand from the beach. Very slippery and easy to fall. Wear good walking shoes! Possibly more interesting is walking down the paved path from the 300 Y lot. That brings you to several beaches with more large rocks in the water, although none of the rocks are in the shape of a heart, so they are not as famous.

we went during the beginning of typhoon khanun because we are insane 🩵 we decided to pay 100 yen anyways for parking even though no one was there to check because we are nice people. don’t be rude people and please support the local okinawan community. it was super windy and the waves were really big. there is a steep ramp on the way down along with some rocky steps. please be careful if u have children or have terrible shoes. if the sand is wet then it’s safer to go down. i wasn’t really able to walk along the shore. i have proper shoes to do so because the water was really flying onto the shore, but that didn’t stop my boyfriend. nonetheless, it was a very beautiful view to see in such interesting weather times. cant imagine how much more beautiful it probably is on a sunny day.

Beautiful scenic spot! We were able to get some beautiful pictures. There is plenty of parking. The walk down to the beach area is a gradual decline and slippery due to sand, be careful! We saw several people slipping. There is a place to buy icecream at the location.

This was a neat little trip and worth the 100 yen we paid for parking. Worth a visit if you’re in the area, but don’t make it a point to drive from a long distance just to visit. It’s literally a walk from the parking lot, down a path, to a very small beach where you can view the rocks. Not much else to it. Bring sandals, it’s sandy!

Crowded beach with many tourists on a Sunday afternoon. Very soft sand. Fine if you wearing covered shoes, just don't jump around to avoid getting too much sand into your shoes. The heart shape rock is visible only from a certain angle. Parking is plenty and only cost 100 JPY. Just dropped a 100 yen coin as you passed a counter by an old lady with her poodle.

Really cool to see at low tide, the rock pools have wild tropical fish and urchins.

Nice, clean and easily accessible beach! Multiple parking lots available in close proximity. We parked at the one off to the right after the bridge and it was free with direct access to the beach. The water was perfectly clear and there were lots of corals on the ground.

Beautiful water with view of the longest bridge in okinawa. The water was warm and it was so nice to spend a few hours here after other sites in the island. We snorkeled here and there were a few fishes. There was some trash in the water tho. There are marine activities nearby for you to rent if interested. They have some free parking but payed parking is available when those spots are taken for ¥500.

The sand here is soft, no stones, but some area has seaweed. This beach overseeing Kuori bridge is very instagramable. Nice beach, beautiful color of the sea from green to turquoise, light blue to deep blue. It is very windy here, sitting on the stone looking at the sea give me a peaceful time.

Such a beautiful beach with magnificent scenery. Must visit in Okinawa if you're traveling north.

Beach itself had some pretty water and nice views, but it felt kind of dirty. Not the cleanest beach in Okinawa by far and certainly has tons of rocks. Bring water shoes if you come here. There is a nice market right outside the beach selling some nice food, some local Okinawan products and stuff like that which was real nice. Other then that, it's nothing mindblowing, underwhelming for the most part.

Stunning beach with beautiful water. Free access with toilets near the parking lot. There are chairs and umbrellas to rent which was perfect to hide from the sun when taking a break from the water. The beach is small and there are two sides to it but it wasn’t crowded when we visited on a Sunday at 12:00pm.

Good and quiet white beach. In summer, it will be a good place where you can play ocean activities.
