If I had to name this, "humble" is probably not a word that would spring to mind. Perhaps the Administrator might have been humble, but the garden is anything but. There is an explanation in the museum as to why there are so many nice (previously) private gardens in and around SuZhou. Think "keeping up with the Jones'". So maybe the Administrator wasn't all that humble after all, just like his garden! We went on an "off-peak" weekday, but it was still quite crowded. Nevertheless, we were able to enjoy the various "rooms" that the garden is divided up into without too much crowding. As it was spring time, there were quite a few flowers out. Overall, this was a very pleasant place to spend a half day. The only reason that I didn't give this five stars is that even though it was an off-season weekday when we visited, some of the paths were quite narrow and it was - at times - a bit difficult to squeeze past other park visitors. I personally probably wouldn't visit during a busy time - unless crowds are your thing.

The oriental scenery is so be beautiful, not recomended to buy souvenirs inside the garden, i would suggest to somewhere 3pm, then exit at 5.00pm, then wait for night event to see the lighting from 6pm.

I strong recommend to hire a tour guide to lead you into this beautiful world and explain those astonish designs. It is better to put 3-4 hours in the itinerary to enjoy the garden. An important thing need to be mentioned: There are lots of cheaters selling the fake ticket in very cheap price. Don't be fraud. The true ticket is sold only in the official entrance.

Big garden with ample space to give you some tranquility. Entrance fee is discounted 50% for Snr Citizens & student. We were too early to enjoy the full bloom cherry blossoms.

Amazingly beautiful garden 💚 The view is so stunning. Wish I could stay longer to enjoy the view. However, the walking path is quite rough for elderly and wheelchair. Hope they provide more convenient pathway for people with wheelchair.

Nice traditional Chinese gardens to walk around. We spent an 1 hour+ here. Kids enjoyed the different paths to walk around.

This Garden from Suzhou is one of the 4 most representatives and famous landscape heritage spots from all China. It was created here a small piece of heaven on the earth. The water, the green and all the artefacts in this perimeter are genuinely disposed in an authentic compound. A huge effort to create a masterpiece. Highly recommended for tourists, wherever are they coming from!

Awesome garden! I heard it was the one I would need to go to if I could only choose one and I did not regret it. The crowds couldn't be helped considering it's China and it's a UNESCO heritage site. Definitely go on a weekend. The museum and Pingjiang road are all pretty close by and there are some eats available too.

It’s a nice garden, you can tell they take care of it. The monument is much smaller than I expected but still worth to visit. I was there on November and the place was almost empty which made it easy to enjoy

The gardens are much more enjoyable than the Pagoda and you should take the time to see the exquisite penzai, which are Chinese versions of bonsai and rock gardens combined. The Pagoda was rebuilt after being destroyed and none of the original detail remains.

Becareful of those illegal seller at the entrance ticket. They will probably tell u she can offer u RMB50 per hidden entry.. instead of the actual ticket cost u China Yuan RMB100. Great destination to visit. Dont risk urself for buying illegal ticket as security and police is there to guard

Beautiful architecture of the Suzhou Museum building and the garden around it.. You can find gorgeous buildings around here too. Entrance into the museum is free. Inside you can find plenty of ancient items and paintings. Very crowded especially during the weekend.

The customer service very bad manner and not helpful. We are not able to go in as the booking is full. From the website you will need to key in china phone number. The customer service ask to book through WeChat but the availability will be the following week. As if tourist will there so long for the museum’s visit.

One of I.M.Pei's masterpieces. Every corner I turned delivered an amazing spatial experience. The architect's sensitive response to the vernacular architecture and integration with existing historical buildings makes me a very very happy person. The apertures are also to die for. At the time I went (August 2018) there was a cool contemporary calligraphy exhibition on. The rest of the exhibits are archaeological crafts and artefacts, well curated. One of the better museums I've been to in the area. IMPORTANT NOTE 1***: Make sure you book your ticket online at least 1 week prior!!! The tickets are free, you just need to reserve ahead of time to skip the queue. (I managed to skip the queue because my grandpa pulled the elderly trick and jumped the line entirely, bringing me with him). Don't fall for tour guides trying to sell you tickets to the museum. Even if you waited during weekday it'd only be 30mins max wait. It's free!!! IMPORTANT NOTE 2***: I went through the museum "backwards". Start by going in and turning left towards the stairs and waterfall.
