The well-known and famous white desert of Kutch. The white color is due to the dried salt there. All you will see is the white desert till the horizon. It was a very new and wonderful experience. When we went there was a lot of mud along with salt due to humidity and water in soil. Because of this, even walking there was very difficult. If you go after the soil is completely dry, you may have a different experience. There was a lot of new development for tourist is going on. parking and other facilities were also good. You can enjoy Other fun and sports activity in desert.

It is a beautiful place to visit. Famous for sun set and full moon days sceneries. We enjoyed both of them but sun set we could not enjoy fully as the clouds came at the end. Watch post is there at this place and our security is also present there . Before we reach this place we have to take permission , by filling up the form along with our identity card and 100 rs for elders. If we want to walk till the end that will be so nice. At the beginning we have all camels and para gliding facilities. At the end we can walk inside the white desert Al round . Sun set and moon rise we can enjoy at this place . Never

It was a one of the best experience in my life when we visited to White desert.White Rann is around 80 kms from Bhuj. A pure white charming beauty. You will feel you are in snow desert & would never like to go back.The excitement of being close to the border also adds to the magic. But the tent city is over-rated and expensive-the same can be seen by a tourist based in another spot example Bhuj.

Mesmerizing experience What I really liked about the pace was that there was less of commercial activity. Although it’s a border area not much of restriction as in where one could go. You are free to walk on the white desert till wherever u can.

Traveling in October, the white desert was a mini lake! However, we were able to see the beginnings of the white salt forming on the desert floor... Definitely visit in February, once most of the water has receded. You will be stopped at a border/Security area since the White Desert borders Pakistan.

Great white desert is truly great. Only regret I have is that we should have gone when the salt marsh has dried even more. Even then, it was a memory for a lifetime. Everyone should spend an hour or two here at least once in their lives

In one word- Beautiful! The only regret I have is not taking the service of a professional photographer from Tent City who would have captured the beauty of this breathtaking view! Highly recommend taking a professional photographer with you to take some amazing and memorable photos that you can cherish for life. 💗 You can reach there by camel carts and spend around an hour to enjoy the sunset. 🌞

Stunning view of the salt desert. Go during sunrise or sunset. There will be security checks before entering the site as its near to the borders, so foreigners would need to bring passport for registration. Highly recommended.

The place even in the presence of lot of people was soothing due to magnanimous size of desert. It was white beyond expectations and the cool weather of. Id November was making it more beautiful.

A beautiful place, feel a magnificent vibes of white desert. Best time to go in evening when you can enjoy sunset also. We were reach at entry gate at 6 pm and ticket booking office was closed and they have asked us book online. After a 15minutes of struggle with internet in that area, finally we have booked tickets online and border army has given permission to visit white desert. So we reached little bit late in evening but we enjoyed lot and wonderful view of Sun set seen. If you can go early or in morning you can enjoy cart safari in white desert. Even though, it's beautiful place, If u have not seen white desert in Gujarat then u have not seen anything. Must go , Not too miss this place

You should at-least go there once in a lifetime. I have never seen anything like this before. The place gets very crowded in it’s peak season which is from Dec till February. Go there very early in the morning to experience mesmerising sunrise.

As per my opinion it's a nice place if it's less crowded nearby areas have been made too dirty because of human intervention. Over all it's a good initiative by the government to earn from a desert. Toilet is available at the point where u park your vehicle. To come to this point u have to use animals ride.

But the hype about fullmoon night did not meet the expectation as we were in rann till 8 PM and did not see white desert shining in moon light. May be people who stay in Tent city might be able to get some good view in midnight when moon is over the head . We stayed in Bhuj and went to visit the white desert. One should reach by 5PM .

The only downside is the journey, especially the stretch from Bhuj to the White Desert—80 km of mostly straight road with occasional rough patches. It's a very beautiful temple. The architecture is quite beautiful. The fine work on marble is mesmerizing. Although, there are certain areas where women are restricted to enter. They also offer prasadam, which is a meal. It is free of cost, but if you are an outsider, they might ask you to buy a coupon worth rs.50 or rs.100 (includes sweet). So, I didn't like that. If you visit and someone asks you to buy a coupon buy one for rs.50 only, nobody checks inside which coupon you have and you get the sweet as well with rs.50.

Food is wested and not properly cooked. Very dirty bhojan shala. Rooms are available at hotel prices even its managed by temple authorities.

You can also try having lunch or dinner there which is awesome because food prepared here is very hygienic and it’s basically free. However I would recommend to donate some amount as a good gesture. There is a nice garden on back side of Temple which varieties of plants in it. Perfect place for a religious visit and also a nice place to click some good family pics.

A beautiful Mandir nestled in the center of Bhuj. It's must see! Amazing hand carved marble as the main Mandir. A walk around also provides wonderful views of the country side!

Big temple in centre of Bhuj. We visited while enroute to Rann of Kutch. Temple timings are 9am to 12 noon. Then reopens at 4pm till 8pm. They close the outside door restricting entry and the idol doors as well for performing Pooja. Women are not allowed to enter the inner sanctum of the temple as per Swaminarayan norms, however they can wait in common area and take darshan of idols clearly visible. The temple itself is made of white marble which felt cool to walk on. There is intricate carvings on the pillars & ceilings, making it too beautiful. There is a seperate dining hall on the right side of the temple where prasadam vegetarian fulfilling & unlimited lunch is served everyday for a mere cost Rs.50 per plate. The lunch was of rotis, rice, dal and a vegetable completed by buttermilk & sweet. There is also a clean Ladies & Gents washroom near the entrance, open for visitors. And a souvenir shop too.

This Swaminarayan mandir comes under the Narnarayan Dev Gadi. Senior devotees Gangarambhai jethi Sundarjibhai, Jigneshwarbhai and others from the Bhuj region of Kutch went to Gadhada where God Swaminarayan was attending a Fuldol festival. In that festival, the devotees of Bhuj met Swaminarayan and requested him to construct a temple in Bhuj. Place is very nice, A place for peace of mind... We were brought to visit the temple from the border identification camp organized by Kutch.

What a Devine place to charge your spiritual energy quota. Bhagwan's Murties (Idols) are 200 years old. This is new temple constructed after the 2001 earthquakes. Stones and marble works are amazing. You need at least 1-2 hrs to visit entire temple. This is the one of the main attraction in Bhuj.

On display here are Old Kutch Currency Coins, Weapons used by various Kings of Kutch, Bed used by the King to rest, and a place near the entry where the King sat, surrounded by Musicians and the whole setup surrounded by water fountains to enjoy the music. In which you will see a different work of yours by looking in the mirror... and at the same time there are many other things to see... Photography is prohibited inside the palace. Look, if someone wants to do photography, they can do it by paying a charge.

It's nearby Bhuj bus stand and Prag Mahal. Parking is available.It's beautiful. But charging Additional Rs 50 for mobile photography is not worth dur to small sizes. It's worth to visit with families.

Big residence of the Bhuj Royalty. Seemed more like British architecture than Indian. Now much restoration required inside. There is an entry fee. Max 15 minutes for a quick walkthrough. No guide Available.

One of the famous tourist places in Bhuj, this palace is known for the mirrors inside the palace. There is one room which has mirrors on the sides and also in the main hall and aisle area there are mirrors on the roof. There are lot of antique that are well preserved and taken care of. To enter the palace, you have to remove your shoes outside. There’s no one to look after the shoes that’s a bit of a scare. There are separate charges for photography inside and there are CCTV cameras put inside to keep an eye on people messing around with things. It takes about 30 mins to do the complete the tour and it is a decent experience. The structure of the palace is bit dilapidated from the outside but well kept from the inside.

Very beautiful palace with rich history and legacy of Kutch, with a lot of artefacts. The palace's walls and ceiling were made of a lot of glass, but due to neglect, Sheen has faded.Sadly, some of the complex was under construction while other parts were in complete disrepair. Cultural heritage in these far-off places requires more preservation and protection. The majority of the photos that visitors have posted on this site are of Parag Mahal, which is located on the same property. Photography is not permitted inside Aina Mahal.

It's a beautiful structure....but currently restoration work is going on. The structure is quite ruined and gives you a real feel of that era. You won't be allowed inside the Rani Mahal cause of its ruined condition. Only visit this place if you like history.

When you are in Bhuj, you will end up doing Prag Mahal followed by Aaina mahal as both are in the same premises. Unlike Prag mahal where there is very minimal to see, at Aaina mahal there is a structured exhibition of things. Photography even with mobile is restricted and you need to take a ticket of 100 rs of you want to take the photos. There are multiple halls depicting various things like the place for music, the instruments used for war, etc. Preferable to come early in the morning before it gets crowded. It is closed in the afternoon so be mindful of this fact. Parking is ame, so park your car, go to Prag Mahal and then visit Aaina mahal before you take back your car out.

It's a small dark palace where many old items used by the Maharaja of Kutch are displayed. You can finish watching within 30 min max. Items are not properly preserved. Also management is very strict about implementing no photo policy. If you are in Bhuj you may visit this place as its tickets are reasonably priced and it's near to the larger Prag Mahal. Timing is a bit odd and opens at 9:00 am close at 11:45 am, then again opens at 3:00 pm till 5:45 pm. Remains closed on every Thursday

This is a temple on the top of the Kalo Dungar just before you walk to the last point of the mountain where there is a place to stand and see the beauty. There is parking outside and then as you enter, you come across this temple. It's made for the god Dattatreya and with justb1 idol in it, it serves the much needed simplicity yet the spirituality at this place. There are washrooms, a place to have Prasad, etc. After you go down a few steps ahead of this temple. All the shops start behind the temple and before the view point.

Dattatreya Temple and Kalo Dunger is one place only. You get a nice view of White desert from this place. White desert is very far from this place and is not possible to walk till there as there is full of forests hills in between. From bhuj this temple is nearly 90km. You will get lime juice, sugercan juice and few more eat and drink stuffs here to cure thurst and hunger. Please note, when you reach to this place, there is no need to opt for Camel ride as view point is very near and in walkable distance. But yes, as this is the only way of earning for the local people so consider paying them 😊. Ankur.

It's a very awesome place. All area having magnatic field that pulls your car while up hill and thrusting while downhill. Parking is smaller in size. There are few view points over there. Annkhetra is also available there.

It is the largest of the three palaces within the Darbargadh walled complex, 19th-century Prag Mahal is in a forlorn state, damaged by an earthquake in 2001, but is worth visiting for its grand Durbar Hall, with its glittering chandeliers, the Maharajah’s taxidermied collection and gold-skirted classical statues. Several scenes from Lagaan, the much-acclaimed Bollywood were filmed here. It is Named after Rao Pragmalji II, who commissioned the construction of Prag Mahal, the palace’s first bricks were laid in 1865. It was designed by Colonel Henry Saint Wilkins in the Italian Gothic style. His team constituted of a number of Italian artisans and their wages were paid in gold coins. It ultimately took 3.1 million rupees to get the work done and the palace stood in its fully glory in 1879. By then the regency has switched Khengarji III (Pragmalji II's son) following Pragmalji II's death in 1875. He employed the local Kutchi builder community under the guidance of Colonel Wilkins in the last phase of construction.

Taking a walk down history at Pragmahal was an absolutely experience. The architecture, the collections and monuments, the history behind them all was all worth it! If you are at Bhuj, I would definitely recommend you to visit this place. The entry was ₹60 per head. They also have Aainamahal just adjacent to it but we couldn’t visit it because Aainamahal is shut in the afternoon.

Gives a rich monument feel, a "Mist visit" place. The place has a small canteen & shopping area. We came on working day (Tuesday) in starting of February, yet many school had picnic plan here. Almost every second hour the schools came for picnic here. Had a great time here and a nice place to have good pics.

Well maintained palace. Entry is between 9 am to 12 noon and then from 3 to 6 pm. There is an entry fee. For clicking pictures there js a fee even if it's in your phone. One phone is allowed to click pictures for a group of people. Video has a seperate cost. The architecture of this palace has lot of European influence. There are lot of dressing tables and cupboards been displayed. Other than these there are nothing much to see.

Parag Mahal depicts British architecture which gives a look of many similar buildings in Mumbai Fort area. This palace construction was done by British East India trading company for the monarch of Bhuj Crown it gives very serene look from lakes end one can observe.

While returning from the Kutch festival, we had the opportunity to visit Prag Mahal palace. Although some may find nothing particularly exciting about this place, it offers a unique glimpse of European architecture in the heart of India. Despite not being a widely popular tourist spot, the palace is well-maintained, and visitors can explore its historical charm by paying a minimal entry fee. It was built and designed as per the Italian Gothic style, and it was totally European influence inspired. Although it would be better described as a Romanesque architecture twist on the Indo-Saracenic Revival style, many Italian artisans were involved in its construction. The palace is made of Italian marble and sandstone from Rajasthan. The grand palace boasts of Gothic-style windows and Corinthian pillars around it. One can observe some intricate carvings done on the walls with beautiful art, along with exquisite jaali work on the jharokhas here. The main hall of the palace has many preserved skins of animals stuffed and mounted on walls in life like form while the Durbar hall has chandeliers and classical statues in it. The opulent Prag Mahal has the second tallest clock tower in the country, and one can get an amazing view of Bhuj city from the top. There is a small Hindu temple in the palace premises with nicely carved stonework. This palace has been restored and repaired after 2001 earthquake. It was severely damaged and got robbed. In Famous bollywood, film scens have been shot in this Palace. Timings differ from afternoon better it's to take sense from the ticket counter guy. For adults, they're charging 50 to visit.

An extraordinary Palace constructed by the Ruler of Bhuj based on European architecture. A part of palace is Open for public with Nominal ticket of 50 Rs per person. A property also caters decent amount of parking space. Four rooms of palace featuring Darbar hall, kind of storage facilities, etc are available to see. A must recommended place for all to visit and enjoy the glory of past.

Prag Mahal Next door to the Aina Mahal, in the same walled compound, is the giant Prag Mahal, which may at first seem slightly out of place at the far western edge of India, looking more appropriate in France. But then again, globalization is not a new phenomenon. This is a palace commissioned by King Pragmalji in the 1860s, designed by Colonel Henry Saint Wilkins in the Italian Gothic style and built in the middle of Bhuj next to the Aina Mahal. While little about it may seem Indian, there are elements; see if you can find them. In the courtyard behind the palace, there is a small Hindu temple with very nicely carved stonework; the caretaker is sometimes available for more information. Inside the palace, you can visit the main palace halls as well as climb stairs of the 45m bell tower for an exhilarating view of the city. After coming down (not before, for your own peace of mind!), check out the cracks between the stones in the wall, visible from the courtyard, caused by various earthquakes over the years. Then stop for a glass of fresh sugarcane juice on your way out of the compound.

It's a 19th century constructed palace by Rao Pragmalji ll located in bhuj and later restored due to damage happened by earthquake in 2006. Parking facility is over there and ₹60 per person is the ticket to go inside. It has not been kept very clean, layer of dust is everywhere, old items are slightly damaged or not much taken care of. It is good to see Gigantic mirror inside Darbar hall and on upstairs there is a room full of different mirrors are kept here. The 45 m clock tower in the palace, which is considered to be the second-highest tower of its kind in India, is another attraction and good for taking pictures.

Takes you back in time... When royalty was THE thing... The vintage kept on display makes you think of a typical day in the lives of the inhabitants of the palace... The small shop offering the souvenirs is a must on the list... The cafe offers you a decent spread... But you would be surprised at how different is the taste... Maybe the love and care they use while preparing the order makes it taste different.

Step out on the terrace for a wonderful view of the clock tower and the palace yard. Ticket costs Rs.60 per adult. There are a lot of shops outside selling local stuff - it's more expensive - you can walk out of the Aina Mahal and into the road for some affordable shopping. Definitely worth a visit.

A lot of new things I came to know here. Like there are many numbers to wear turban. Every thing is maintained well. Assistant help is there. But there is no guide here. So if guide is available I could have understood more. Wonderful experience. Must visit. Market place is just 15 minutes away. So

The place is nice to view in short time like If you have 1 or 2 hours extra so you can visit the place for more info about the locals and culture. The ticket price is too cheap like for adults it 5rs and for students it's 2 rs only its a best side scene if you are staying in bhuj. There are many handcraft arts and old cultural things giving 5 star for its cleanness.

It was founded by Maharao Khengarji in the year 1877. The museum consists of the region’s delightful diversity in craft and local living with inscriptions of Kshatrapa back to the one A.D. along with coines [Kori- A kutch local currency] as well as scripts [Having gujarati alphabets]. Other than that, there's an anthropological section, archaeological section, textiles section, weapons section, music instruments section, shipping section, and stuffed animals section. More particularly, there's a section devoted to the tribal community where one can see ancient artifacts, folk arts, and crafts and information about tribal people, who are a major part of Kutch's history and culture. Visiting Hours for tourists: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM & 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, Closed on Wednesday and Public Holidays. Having ticket charges of Rs 5/- . Parking is somewhat difficult to get in nearby areas.

Fantastic place to learn about the rich and varied history of Rann of Kutch. The entire place is superbly curated and maintained. The staff is warm, kind and courteous. We loved our history lessons here filled with artefacts from the years gone by.a must visit place for every history lover. 100% recommended.

One of the few places you can visit during your trip to Bhuj. The ticket price for Indian nationals is a mere 5 rupees with additional discounts for students. But In my opinion the museum does not do justice to the rich heritage of the Kutch region. The museum is rather empty with very few displays. Most of the installations have little to no descriptions which is a major disappointment to people who're genuinely interested in learning about the history of the region.
