How long is the drive from Fira to Kos Town?
The direct drive from Fira to Kos Town is 129 mi (208 km), and should have a drive time of 1 day 15 hrs in normal traffic.
If you’re going on a road trip from Fira to Kos Town, we did the research for you and compiled some great stops along the way — with top places to visit like Kato Koufonisi and Fanos Beach, or the ever-popular Finikas Beach Hotel.
The top stops along the way from Fira to Kos Town (with short detours) are Paradise beach, Holy Monastery of the Virgin Mary Chozoviotissa, and Paralia Pori. Other popular stops include Agios Stefanos Beach, Nisyros, and Merikia War Museum Tunnel.
The Finikas Beach Hotel is a luxurious beachfront resort on the stunningly beautiful island of Naxos. It has a pool, spa, and restaurant, as well as spacious suites with private balconies or patios overlooking the ocean. The hotel is family-friendly and offers a pool bar and playground for children, as well as an upscale taverna specializing in sustainable seafood ingredients.
We had such a lovely stay here. We were upgraded and the room and bathroom were huge! The area was so quiet and peaceful and Alyko beach was beautiful. We found a small beach near here that we had to ourselves for two sunsets in a row. It was our favourite hotel location in Naxos and definitely come and stay here if you’re able to rent a car (you need a car here). The staff were really friendly. I really recommend the restaurant by Faros less than a 5 min drive up the road for dinner.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous, well maintained and the staff was great. We had wonderful time and I'd go back any time.
I've had a chance to talk with the manager and they are clearly very passionate about what they do and I wish them all the best.
Breakfast (good):
- good selection in the sweets with some great choice
- my wife is lactose intolerant and didn't have much to choose from in the sweets, which was a bit sad
- the continental (eggs, bacon, sausages...) need some uplift. Eggs were always bit overcooked and bacon and cheese selection was a bit basic, in terms of quality
- cappuccino was not great
- service was good. everyone was kind and helpful but I'd dial up by adding at least a more experienced person
Lunch (great):
- we only went once and had only sandwiches and they tasted great.
Room cleaning (outstanding):
Outstanding cleaning every day, cannot fault them. (I'm extremely picky with cleaning)
Pool (great):
Gorgeous pool with sea view, well maintained and with very good service
Beach (great):
Wonderful beach, very convenient just in front of the hotel. Water is very clear but It's rocks and pebbles, so bring your sea shoes if you want to be comfortable
Reception & staff (great):
Perfect, no complaints.

Don’t go to the beach of this hotel if you’re not staying in! We headed to Pyrgaki beach and mistakenly stopped right near this hotel (we thought that was the actual Pyrgaki), and they will cheat and lie to get more money out of you. We arrived and wanted to rent an umbrella and two sun beds. A hotel employee told us that it would be 20 euros. We started bringing our stuff over, and he told us it was now 25 euros because we wouldn’t be ordering from the hotel (which seemed fair even though we didn’t tell him that). We asked him to bring the change from 50 euros, and when he came back he said the price was now double because there were “too many” of us (we were four and we didn’t plan to stay there for the whole day), and each sun bed was now 25, so 50 in total. We of course left immediately. It was clear the hotel team was eager to change whatever they told us to get some more money out. Drive further to get to actual Pyrgaki or get a beach towel and an umbrella and go to the nearby Alyko beach instead - it’s wild but way more beautiful and no one will try to squeeze some cash out of you.

Really enjoyed our time in the Finikas Beach Hotel. We loved that it was quiet and far away from the more crowded areas. Rooms are perfect and so is the room service as well as the service at the reception - which is outstanding.
Only downside is the service in the hotel's restaurant especially during breakfast. As soon as there are more than 4 people to serve, they seem overwhelmed. On several occasions we were not given water, were not asked, if we would like coffee, were basically ignored and so on.

The hotel is lovely with good rooms, the staff is attentive and thoughtful and the location amazing. We walked to 3 beautiful beaches which is not overcrowded and each having something special. The water is crystal clear and the hotel well looked after. The meals are well cooked, very delicious.

Recently we have stayed at finikas hotel and the whole experience was great! The view from the hotel was amazing , the room was very clean and the staff was very kind and helpful through everything we needed. Also I would like to thank the lifeguard from the pool who came fast when we needed first aid ! I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Alexandros Papachristou — Google review
My husband and I returned to Greece after 4 years with my sister and brother in law and this time we chose to stay in Naxos although our travel agent selected this hotel, we knew nothing about it. To say Finikas boutique hotel was in a remote location is an understatement but luckily so! We were welcomed by the smiling and helpful reception staff (Anastasia) and enjoyed a welcome drink offered to us by the manager himself, who was ever present, hands on, kind, and mild mannered. This hotel felt like home from day one. Our rooms were ok, with large bathrooms and balcony overlooking the pool and beach. My sister was able to upgrade to a “penthouse” room with a jacuzzi tub at an additional cost. We all spent hours at the poolside bar and enjoyed the delicious restaurant food for the gorgeous breakfast buffet, lunches and dinners. The staff is incredible and friendly, and nothing was ever too much. Special mention to Menia was one of the lovely bartenders on staff. Next door there is a convenience store which was super helpful and steps away directly across from the hotel is it’s beach where drinks are delivered from the pool bar. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance. We rented a car for one day and drove to Plaka Beach for the day, and through the mountain villages in the evening. We hated leaving Finikas and will definitely return on our next trip, only thing we would do differently is we will request a specific (different) room.
Thank you thank you to everyone who made our stay so enjoyable at Finikas. We loved it!

Very nice, boutique, hotel, on a secluded beach 30 minutes from Naxos Chora. The rooms are very spacious, the housekeeping is excellent, the bar and restaurant are very good. The staff is also top notch, especially Vasilis, the bar tender. Highly recommended.
Ivan Denkov — Google review
Finikas is an absolute gem! We had an amazing time there. The hotel itself is just awesome, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The best part was the serene and peaceful atmosphere all around.
The location couldn't have been better. The sea was just a stone's throw away, and we loved being able to walk to two other sandy beaches nearby.
If you're in Naxos and craving a tranquil and stunning beach experience, Finikas is the perfect choice. We highly recommend it!
Aziz Antoun — Google review
A true disaster
I made a booking before the covid period and after my flight has been cancelled with no option to travel I informed proactively the hotel. While I expected we could find a viable solution the Finikas hotel only allowed a voucher in the pandemic period, which was useless. I lost unfairly 2200€ without visiting the hotel. I came this summer in Naxos to visit the hotel and explain face to face my case, but I am still waiting for a feedback from the owner.
I can only judge the level of service and I am really disappointed and angry about this bad customer experience.

The most perfect beach front hotel I have ever stayed in!
The staff was very helpful and friendly, the restaurant had delicious and well priced meals, rooms were spacious and well equipped with balcony and a great view.
The hotel has its own beach with sunbeds available all day long. The entrance to the sea is shallow, lots of stones so might not be the best place for professional swimmer yet perfect for a quick dip. Moreover, there are three magnificent public beaches walking distance from the hotel.
I strongly recommend it especially for couples who want a pleasant, rather quiet and peaceful seaside holidays.
Ilona Droniuk — Google review
Quite location away from the tourist areas. The hotel is kept to a very high standard. Excellent snorkelling directly from the hotel beach. Pool, rooms etc all very good. Breakfast was excellent.
Amazing Kitesurfing and windsurfing nearby.

Probably best holiday of my life. Hotel is quiet, calm and scenic. Staff is very helpful and nice. Food in the hotel restaurant was delicious with some soothing lounge music. Amazing pool and clean sandy beach right in front of the hotel. More beaches 10 min walk away from the hotel. Beautiful marble clean rooms with balconies. Large beds. Air conditioning was working and cleaning was daily and spot on. One of the very few times that I will say that I’d probably come for a longer vacation in this hotel.
Please note that this is for those looking for a quiet peaceful stay, not pounding rooftops of Mykonos:) Hotel is a 25 min drive away from the Naxos town and port but this wasn’t an issue, through hotel reception we rented a car.
Uninhabited island with a rugged feel, attracting visitors for its beaches & dispersed camping.
Wild, pure a bit extreme… you have to spend there a all day walking. Start from Taverna boat stop and go north east, walk towards Hawaii beach, then go to Faraglioni. Spend the afternoon around Paralia Nero in the south

Great place for nature lovers and free campers! Is very organized, lakki beach has toilets and showers and the local tavern offers decent food and beverage. The boats to Ano koufonisi are also regular and cheap. We totally recommend it

This is the best island that I have seen so far. We left on a day tour from Naxos island.
Once we arrived at the harbor we bought 5€ transfer ticket to the main beaches of the island (Foinikas, Italida, Pori).
Pori beach is like a pool. I highly suggest to take the time to visit Koufonisi
NICCOLO NICOLETTI — Google review
Great remote getaway island. Some of the beaches have traffic in July and August but the ones that are accessible only via boats are magical and often almost empty. Ideal getaway
Alexander Chalkidis — Google review
Amazing for free camping!
There are two spots: 1. Close to Venetsanos Tavern 2.At Nero beach
There are frequent itineraries from little boats connecting ano and Kato Koufonisi during the summer season. If you are a free camper you can travel back and forth from the one island to the other for 5euros per weak with one of the two operators (the other one is more expensive , but I don’t remember which one || you can at both booths at the port of Ano koufonisi)

Wild island.. there is one taverna, camping places, several houses only.. You can go by boat from Koufonisia... beaches are beautiful.. you can find everything you need, even phone charger in the taverna.. boats from Koufonisia are until 20:15 in September... in summer until 22:45.

One of my favourite beaches! Crystal clear water and white sand. You also have the chance to swim near the cliffs, that provide a great snorkeling area. We were able to spot a starfish and an octopus. It is really mesmerizing, as Fanos provides so many emotions.

Very nice and easy white sandy beach it has a beach bar for hot hours and aperitif time.
It gets very crowded in Jul/Aug but beautiful in low season time when you have it all for yourself

Another beautiful spot no afar from Ammos. Tranquil waters and lovely view of Keros Island. The sea bus stops at one edge and it is a convenient way for those tired to get to the port. Really, a dream come true.
Pablo de Mello — Google review
Amazing sea life on the western side for snorkeling. Narrow beach so you would be there early to get the better places on the beach. Very thin sand with few rocks. Avoid the nearest bar!

Great beach that you can get to either on a boat from the port for 5 euros or walk for 15 minutes! It’s also got a beach bar which is nice with good music and food. It’s family friendly as well to cater for the little ones with ice creams and easy access to the beach upfront!

Perfect place to rest with kids.... so beautiful!!!
Probably the best beach in the world. Paralia Italida is a hidden gem in the Cyclades, a beach that will make you feel like you are in paradise. The beach is located on the southern shore of Koufonisia, a small and charming island that offers a relaxing and authentic Greek experience. Paralia Italida, also known as Platia Pounda, is a white sandy beach with crystal-clear turquoise waters that sparkle in the sun. The beach is protected from the winds and has a calm and serene atmosphere. The beach is also nudist, so you can enjoy the freedom and natural beauty of the place without any inhibitions. Paralia Italida is a perfect spot to swim, sunbathe, read, or meditate, surrounded by the sound of the waves and the scent of the sea. The beach is accessible by boat from Agali port or by car if you park at Fanos Beach and walk for about 15 minutes. There are no facilities or tavernas on the beach, so you need to bring your water and snacks. Paralia Italida is a beach that will make you fall in love with Koufonisia and its simple and enchanting charm.

In August there's no place to lay your towel, it's overcrowded with youngsters listening to irritatingly loud greek music and playing beach racket. Unfortunately the beauty has been gone. Unless you are a big group of friends aged between 18-25, avoid visiting the island in July and August.
Alfa Saravanos — Google review
Probably one of the most beautiful and unforgettable beaches in Greece. The water is crystal clean, the sand soft and gold, the vibe amazing. Would recommend not visiting in August but it’s still amazing

You also have near by the bus boat taking you to the other beaches passing by each hour until 7pm

To me Italida is the best beach in Koufunissi! You can both reach it by walking or with the water taxi (5€ for the entire day, leaving from the port). The beach is slightly bigger than finikas and fanos.
Rustic beach with a crescent of soft white sand, shallow turquoise water & 2 tavernas.
One of the best beach of the Aegean. The colours are AMAZING , green to light blue to dark blue at the deeper parts of the beach, just amazing. Very clean waters also. There are not any trees to offer shade so better take an umbrella or something to protect you from the sun. You can reach Pori either by foot or take a boat from the port, the boat needs about 15 minutes to get to Pori and also offers a nice tours of the other beaches of the island. Highly recommended!
Stavros Kairis — Google review
One of my favourites in Koufonissi. Crystal Clear water and white sand. This one is the largest beach available that you can easily reach with the boat from the port or from the other beaches.
The ticket costs 5,00 € and you can use it for the whole day how many times you wish.
The boat passes every 30 min. Pay attention to the wind, as the beach is exposed.
Cristina Senoner — Google review
The most far away beach of the island you can easily reach it by the taxi boat that passes at each hours until 7pm in June in July and Aug seems also later rides.
It is white sandy beach and acquamarina water as all Koufunissi. You also have a beach bar.

Breathtaking scenery! Nature at its best! A must see location while in koufonisia!

Pori Beach on Koufonisia is a true paradise for beach lovers. Beautiful bay but Busy for big sailing boats. With its crystal-clear, inviting waters and powdery white sand, it offers a serene and idyllic setting. The beach is surrounded by natural rock formations and hills, providing a picturesque backdrop that adds to its charm. The relatively secluded location ensures a peaceful atmosphere, making it a great spot to unwind and soak up the sun. Visitors often appreciate the untouched beauty of Pori Beach, as well as the opportunity to swim and snorkel in the refreshing Aegean Sea. Keep in mind that amenities might be limited, so it's a good idea to bring your own essentials. Overall, Pori Beach is a must-visit destination for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty in a stunning coastal setting.
Chromolia “Chromolia com” com — Google review
The best beach on the island by far. Best way to reach it is by ferry taxis. The beach is big and even though we were next to each other it didn't feel like we were squeezed together. The water was amazing and clean. There is a taverna near by where you can eat. Don't forget to visit gala (γάλα)
Lalos SAW — Google review
A beautiful place, a paradise nearly undiscovered. There are little beaches near the main "Paralia Pori"; it also has a pretty restaurant/bar, it's the biggest place where you can find shade, because from June to September the Sun during the day is very strong, and sometimes it's very windy. It offers fresh fish every day.
For tourists, you can reach this wonderful beach by bus or on your feet, but I suggest the first option, daily ticket costs less than 5€ and you can reach every place on Koufunisia.
Mattia Turla — Google review
Very nice beach on the north. Enjoy if it isn't windy.

I'll never travel to Kos Town without this trip planner again
A fairly easy ascent that takes about 1h 10mins. The sun is relentless for the most part, the hardest part, that is the first 45mins. Take water, enjoy the view and respect the peacefulness!

2 hours journey to get to a closed monastery, but the sight is definitely worth the effort! Better to not do it with 28° like me and my boyfriend did (thankfully there was enough wind). Might be dangerous if it’s your first hiking experience and if you don’t wear proper shoes. Take with you also some food, an hat and a thermos with enough water. The way back took us a bit less, about 1.5 hours. Recommended!
Serena Ma — Google review
Do not leave Anafi without hiking up to this monastery! It is well worth the effort. Stunning views for most of the way and it is just beautiful at the top. Unforgettable experience. If you are afraid of heights, maybe not for you (my partner struggled!) but otherwise do not miss. We set off at 7am with the sun rising (as we weren’t confident enough to walk in the dark before sunrise). It took us 1 hour 10min to get up and about 50mins to come down. Take water and maybe a little food. We went in about 15mph wind but it was blowing into the mountain. I wouldn’t attempt on a very windy day or midday Sun. Enjoy!

Second highest monolith in the Europe called Kalamos is the rock where Monastery Panagia Kalamiotisa proudly stands with only sky and birds above. An outstanding monument of orthodox faith, today is an attraction for many tourists abroad. Built in 1715 and kept by two monks , Agapis and Meletis now is ooen for visitors only twice a week.
Danica Sladic — Google review
It is about an hour walking. There is a clear path and awesome views at every step.
At the top of the mountain there is a church and an excellent view of the Aegean Sea
Some people choose to stay at night just to see the sunrise.
Georgio Papadakis — Google review
Some very important details to ensure you have a good hike:
1. Locals might say it's a one hour easy trail. As a fit and active person i would say this is a one and a half, as it's steep at some parts, and trail isnt always marked. So plan ahead 1 ¹/2 one way without photo stops(the way down might be shorter and easier)
2. Pack lots of water, many people at the top asked us of exrra water
3. I wouldnt reccomend it for people afraid of heights, as it is quite direct view of hight at a lot of narrow parts of the trail
4. Pack headlights. If yoy aren't spending the night there them you will most probably do part of the hike at dark(after sunset/before sunrise)
5. Avoid slippers as it's quite rocky and slippery at some parts
Enjoy the stunning view!!
eleni kapousouz — Google review
Great spot to get engaged!! Long, tough hike. Cannot picnic. Do not attempt if scared of heights!
Alex Fox — Google review
Simply stunning. Don't miss the opportunity to see the sunrise there. The path is well maintained but better to climb either in the afternoon and spend the night there or early in the morning with the first light as it can become dangerous at night. No need for carrying too much stuff, water and since food and a sleeping bag should do it.
Chora, the hillside capital of Amorgos, is a must-visit destination on the island. Perched on one of the highest points, it provides breathtaking panoramic views of the surroundings. The town's charming Cycladic streets lead to a picturesque main square adorned with traditional tavernas and a lovely church, offering visitors an authentic taste of local culture and architecture.

Scenic island beach in a rugged locale features a small sandy expanse & clear blue waters.
One of the most idyllic places in the island. Very nice view and the best waters / seabed in Amorgos. Aghia Anna is a must.
The beach is relatively small thought... After 17:00 is usually not crowded, but there is not direct sun at that time (for me it's perfect after 17:00 since I don't like direct sun).
Michail Giannakos — Google review
Rocky beach without much space to leave your stuff. Although the view is breathtaking, the whole place is extremely susceptible to winds (and amorgos is a windy island) so you may not be able to swim on such a day.

(Translated by Google) Something like a beach because it is very small and crowded and is aimed at a specific audience. It's best to go without high expectations because then you might be disappointed. It has relatively flat rocks for sunbathing but for me personally only for swimming which is very good, especially if you get a period of calm because then the waters are crystal clear and you can see the very nice bottom, when there is a wave it is nothing special. The left beach, the small Agia Anna, is more picturesque because it also has a small church that is ideal for very beautiful photos. The visit is a must if you find yourself in Amorgos.

11th-century monastery with a dramatic cliffside location & sweeping views of the Aegean Sea.
Wonderful monastry. If the weather is right this place is just magical. Remember that man should wear long trousers and women need to cover shoulders and knees out of respect. Inside it is really narrow but you can look a the religious pictures and paintings. Prepare some coins for donation. If youre on Amorgos you really should go there!

Incredible to see this monastery up close. It was a long climb but we did it in the afternoon and it was a little dark inside, hard to see all the icons properly. I have been told if you do it in the morning there is more light inside the monastery. When we got inside there were people guiding us through as it was busy. When we got to the church part there was a priest answering questions we were then showed to another room and offered water and a sweet liquor. Worth doing.
liz sakeson — Google review
The monastery is a must visit experience for any visitor to Amorgos regardless of religious background.
The sheer amazement of a building constructed over 1,000 years ago can only be surpassed by the effort of constructing it right into the cliff side. Pictures don't do this experience justice, and the monks and staff that welcome guests made us feel welcome and taught us a lot about the area and the monastery itself.
Nate Vance — Google review
Beautiful monastery with awesome views and rich history. They serve the local liquor at the end of your tour. You only get to see a small portion of the monastery so it's hard to imagine what the daily life is like for the monks who love there.

Very impressive monastery worth visiting regardless of your religion as it is curved in a rock.
To approach it is difficult as the way is long and the steps are many.
When you are there they offer you the local "psimeni" and water to welcome you.
Have in mind that you should be there before 13.00, as it closes

Note that it is a bit of a hike from the carpark to the monastery but it's worth doing. The monks are really welcoming and friendly.
It's free admission but donations are welcome there. You do need to wear certain attire, so no shorts and shoulders need to be covered.
Stunning views on the way up and at the top.

Wandering around — Google review
Stunning location. I half expected it to be a bit over-hyped, but it fully delivers !
Not great for anyone with mobility issues though. The steps up to the monastery weren't as steep as I'd expected, but they're still steep and polished from wear over the years, so can be a bit slippery, especially coming down.
You don't get to see much of the monastery inside, but it's still worth planning your visit to ensure they're open.
If you're walking back up to the Hora, it can be warm work back up those steps / the path !
Woolly Blue — Google review
You leave your car at a parking spot just around the entrance.
Be prepared for 270 stairs uphill, and it can be very tiring. Try to find a day with wind and without extreme heatwave to ensure you won't get too tired. The monastery opens 17.3 and closes 19.00. You are required to wear long skirts and long sleeves for women, and men have to wear trousers and shirts. If you are not prepared, they give you in the entrance pants and skirts so you can go in. The view is worth it all !
Catherine Panteli — Google review
The best known architectural feature of the island is a must when you visit Amorgos. Long trousers are required for men and women need to cover their shoulders and knees but you’ll find pants and foulards there free of use. Please make sure you bring some cash to contribute to the maintenance of the monastery and to appreciate the free entrance and amicable monks that will offer you cold water and raki psimeni when you arrive
Sebas Pico — Google review
Very disappointing, you have to climb a lot of stairs and then you can only get in if you wear the dress code. Inside you can see only a few rooms, but the view is incredible.
You should just head up a bit of the stairs just for the view.
Mystake and Anything — Google review
Amazing piece of architecture. Incredible that it was built into limestone cliffs so long ago. Very welcoming atmosphere. Don't be that person who refuses to comply with the dress code. They provide spare long trousers and long skirts so do the right thing - it's not hard to be respectful :)

Worth visiting, make sure to check the schedule and wear appropriate clothes (pants and t-shirt for men, long skirts and t-shirt for women). In case you are not dressed appropriately, they provide clothes.
Schedule 9:00-13:00 and 17:00-19:00, I would suggest go a bit earlier for pictures without the crowd.
In the end they offer a traditional drink and water.
Great beach. City just cleaned it. Paralia beautiful.

The beach itself is very narrow and crowded, however offers warm waters and unmatched views of Aegiali and the surrounding towns. For a quieter experience I would suggest walking up towards the opposite side of the harbor.

Lovely sandy beach with relatively shallow waters. Perfect for families with kids. It does get a bit crowded though.Plenty of places around to get a coffee, water or snacks from. Great spot to watch the sunset
Zisaros Taxidiotis — Google review
A pleasant enough town / port beach with shade under the trees if you need it.
Levrossos beach, just round the corner ( 10 to 15 minutes by foot is nicer though, but you'll need to go down steps to get there, so not as good for anyone with mobility issues )
Woolly Blue — Google review
Beach is a little bit crowed and kinda dirty due to many people not taking away their rubbish, there are too much small plastic pieces, the water is clean, shallow and good for kids to play, there's a supermarket close by,you can buy many fresh fruits and vegetables, beers etc.
Wu Angelina — Google review
A very nice sandy beach with crystal clear water. Plenty of restaurants and bars, although pretty pricey and not very good food or cocktails. Beer is alright though! Even though it is a pretty small beach there is always room as it is pretty long. You can even find spots in the shade under the trees.

I'll never travel to Kos Town without this trip planner again
Amorgos Diving Center, an exceptional dive club located in Greece, offers a remarkable experience for diving enthusiasts. With an outstanding crew and team, along with fantastic buddies, this center provides unforgettable dives. The zodiacs are not overcrowded with a limited number of people on board and each diver is equipped with a durable blue duve buddy and even an additional leader.
I am very satisfied diving with you. Equipment is new, briefing was very detailed, all guides were helpful and exceptional attentive. I had two very beautiful dives with very, very nice visibility and I always felt very safe. Atmosphere was warmhearted and friendly. Thank you for this nice day, I will come again when visiting beautiful Amorgos again!

This dive center was great! Professional, kind, SAFE and a great price. They had super good equipment and made sure I had everything I needed. During this time, I needed a 7mm hoodie and was fitted for one with no questions. I def recommend. Great price too ! Niko was a very thorough dive guide and there were plenty of hands on deck to take care of everything. They wouldn’t let me lift a finger !

I highly recommended the Amorgos Diving Center! It was my first experience with scuba diving. I´m so glad that I had it with Dimitris, who runs the diving center. He is very professional. He explained everything carefully. I felt very safety diving with him. Thank you Dimitris und of course your colleagues! And I`m looking forward for next time!

Amorgos Diving Center is where I first started diving in 2022, with the goal of obtaining my Open Water Diver certification. The professionalism of the instructors and beauty of the underwater world surrounding Amorgos drew me back to this place in 2023. After 2 seasons, 24 dives, and 4 specialties with Amorgos Diving Center, I plan to come back and complete my Divemaster certification with them as soon as possible.
Many thanks to Dimitris, Marialena, Giannis, Marta… etc. who brought out my passion for this sport and made all of my dives wonderful. Looking forward to diving with you again soon!

We planned 6 dives with them in the beginning and ended up with 9 dives and getting our advanced open water 😅 the staff was super nice and sympathetic. We felt well taken care of . Our instructor fanny was also precise and we learned a lot during our many dives with her. As well as dive master Costa was very cool and showed us amazing tunnels and caves and walls. Deep dive with Marion was also very cool. We saw ancient amphora 🏺 in the deep blue sea 🌊. We definitely would love to come back and I would love to learn free diving from dimitris !

Really excellent little place, with nice salads, coffee, and drinks. You have to ask for a "Mastichito" - a Mojito made with Masticha instead of rum. Super friendly service, nice chilled out music that isn't too loud, and a very island feel to it.
Jonas Voss — Google review
Very unpleasant people offer you uncomfortable sunbeds (close one to another) under some trees. The umbrellas are all reserved to the owner’s friends.
The music is ear-splitting even in the morning/noon and ruins the beauty of the beach.
The menu of the bar is limited and the dishes are bad cooked.
Francesco — Google review
By far the most unwelcoming experience on the beautiful island of Astypalaia.
The guys really believe they own the beach and they try to restrict access to it, by all means. Even though this is 100% not allowed by Greek laws!!
Be aware, they can be really offensive and aggressive!
There are very nice beach bars on the island. You can definitely afford to skip this one.
Manos Angelis — Google review
Rude people, they believe they own public property. They overcharge sunbeds thinking this is Mykonos(15 eu). They did not let us place our own stuff under the trees. If you happen to visit the beach vatses, make sure to have enough water and food, so you don't have to pay the "Greek entrepreneur" money. The dark side of Greek tourism, all in one beach bar.
Nicholas Mavroforos — Google review

Never again! The unfriendly, most unpleasant, even hostile bar owner I have ever met. Stay away from him. If you come near his bar, you have to buy a lounger for 10 euros in mid-September, otherwise he will complain.
Remember: all beaches in Greece are public. There are no private beaches. This is law. He is not allowed to drive anyone away.

The beach is beautiful, but those guys are rude. Two beers 350ml €7 each. I couldn't believe that I pay €14.
Visit the beach, skip the beach bar!!
Savvas Savvidis — Google review
We wanted to sit/rent the sun beds but only 2 were available under the sun. But due to my wife pregnancy I asked the bar owner if I could place my own umbrella between those 2 sun beds and sit there under the shadow. He refused by saying and I quote “not in my beach bar”.... I can’t allow you to place your umbrella in my beach bar... so its better to let a pregnant woman sit on the sand just because you can’t let a yellow umbrella between yours... pathetic... Humanity lost... Ντροπή σου φίλος....
Valentinos Kokkinidis — Google review
Very unfriendly and unpleasent bar Crew. The most expensive sunbeds in Astypalea but If you eat your own picknick or drink your own, you will be treated like gangster. Go somewhere else and you will have a better time :)
Rene Moor — Google review
Usually I prefer privacy and silence when going to the beach. But sometimes it is just comfortable having the chance to rent an umbrella and a sunlounger. When we went to Vatses beach for the first time we just gave it a try. And we didn't regret it. There are not too many sun loungers and there is enough space between them to keep some privacy. The two guys at the Beachbar are really cool. So is the music. Relaxing and very international. You can eat some smaller meals there (the toast with olive paste and sardines is very tasteful!). We've been there three days in a row at the end of our stay on Astypalaia. It was the perfect place to relax a few days before returning to Germany and back to work. We will surely come back someday. And when the sun will disappear behind the rocks it will be "FIX time" again :-)

This beach has 1 km dirt road. Pebbles inside the sea, but pebbles and … gold sand outside. The beach bar offers the under-the-tree sunbeds for 5€. Moreover, the bar can fuel you with aperol spritz, tsipouro and dakos to eat. And they cooperate with the beach’s tavern to facilitate you, if you want to use their restroom.

The castle is absolutely beautiful from far away, as well as to stroll around inside of its ruins and definitely the spot to say goodbye from one of its windows to the sun at the sunset.
The entrance is free of charge. Inside one can find some ruins of ancient colonnes, churches, and beautiful windows facing all directions of the island.
The castle is not accessible though, cause the way coming to it is full of stairs. No other way.
Valentyna Pliushch — Google review
A castle, regarded to its keeper, Querini, on top of the island, but needs to be more taking care of. It sure deserves a visit and offers great view.
Andreas Fragkos — Google review
Great views. A wonderful place to go for half an hour or more and to watch the sun go down 🌞.
Tim Griffiths — Google review
Most Greek isles have their "Kastro", but the castle of Astypalea beats them all. For one, many of them are hidden within the buildings or have low walls. The Querini Castle is an impressive height and is definitely a sight to see atop the highest point of Astypalea. By day, it simply can't be missed, while by night, lit up beautifully on the dark hill, it is almost magical. Also unique to it is the fact that it holds a full scale church inside it, which is cleverly built on archways just over the only narrow passageway into the castle. The space inside the Kastro is also large and still has a lot of buildings, some of which are fully intact. Of course, the views from up there are breathtaking, especially through the remaining windows facing all around the coast below. Definitely worth a visit!
Norman Scicluna — Google review

Beautiful place to enjoy the sunset, it has beautiful views
Carolina Olivares — Google review
The Castle of Astypalea, or by its other name: Castle of Querini, is undoubtedly the hallmark of the small and beautiful island of Astypalea. It stands on a cliff above the picturesque capital of the island - (Chora) Astypalea. The beauty of the panoramic view around, with the deep blue colors of the Aegean Sea, together with the rocky cliffs of the island in the background, and the white houses of the town spread out at its foot, give it a magnificent beauty. The castle was built by the Venetian Querini family on the ruins of the ancient acropolis of the site, in the 15th century. The walls of the castle are relatively well preserved, however, most of the buildings within the walls were destroyed during the earthquake in 1956.
The castle is decorated with 3 beautiful churches, shining in their white-blue colors. Two of them are inside the walls, the Virgin of the Castle, (1853) and Agios Georgios (1790)
and the third one, the Holy Church of Panagia Portaitissa, is located on the south side of the complex, (at its foot), where you enter the castle.
It is highly recommended to walk around the narrow streets below the castle, enjoy the beautiful houses, and the warm hospitality of the locals. (Just take into consideration the stairs and the slops)
If you arrive here in mid-August, don't miss the biggest traditional festival of the island that is celebrated in the church, every 15 of August (the celebration of virgin Maria)!!
Y.H. — Google review
Beautiful landmark castle at the top of Astypalea’s Chora. Splendid views; definitely worth coming early to watch the sunset as it can get quite crowded at times.
Iustin Raducanu — Google review
A super impressive castle atop the hillside town as you enter the he bay. The castle is a ruin inside with two Bazantine churches inside the walls. The views are stunning and their are lots of little cafes in the town to chill and look at the sparkly boats in the harbour or bay.
Richard M — Google review
The castle of Astypalaia or Astropalia, with Greek traditional songs dedicated to it, has Western European architectural style, closely associated with the Venetian family of Querini. As a site, it provides a great view of the town of Astypalaia (Chora) and the surrounding islands. Heavy winds might make one's visit unpleasant. The visit is free of charge and unfortunately that goes along with the absense of detailed signs. More or less the visitor cannot understand what he/she sees. The monument is still a landmark worth visiting.
Θεόδωρος Τζανάτος — Google review
An iconic building of the archipelago with incredible views. A must visit
Fbo BO — Google review
It is unique in its castle type, very different from the castles in the other islands of the South Aegean.
It is also called Astrolia Castle or Querini Castle.
It was built by the Querini Venetian family on the ancient citadel. It took its final form in the 15th century.
It is built with traditional local dark stone and is surrounded by white houses, the exterior walls of which create a real wall, with small windows for loopholes. With a strong fortress character to protect the inhabitants from pirates, it has visibility in the two natural harbors of the island.
Inside the castle are the famous churches with stone belfry, Panagia Kastro (1853) and Agios Georgios (1790).
Agios Theologos is a small beach on the southwest coast of Kos. It's a popular spot with locals and tourists, as it has beautiful views and crystal clear water. However, it can get crowded during the high season.
First day of the season they are open, and from the start great service, good food, good experience.
Recommended as a detour, since it's quite of the beaten track
Alexander Lantink — Google review
Very small and quiet beach, didn’t seem like a lot of families with children visit here and we didn’t see many all afternoon. The beach isn’t very Sandy as you can see from the images.
There is a guy that will come around collected €7 for the sun beds once you have sat down! You can use them as long as you like for the €7 for both beds! He seems nice and approachable.
Zoë Bird — Google review
Absolutely fantastic little beach to watch the sun go down. Great for sunsets. Rocky, like most beaches in Kos, but once past the initial 10-20metres it’s sandy under foot. A shower but no toilets. Good for a surf. With boards available for hire as well as sun beds and umbrellas.
Lee Griffiths — Google review
OK, so, if you expect a sandy beach.... run..... this is all pebbles, hard on the feet if you don't wear something and a bit of a walk if your friends decide to run off ahead and pick a spot furthest way from the free parking and you forgot your flip-flops... ok so that s an ouch.... think about it like this... lovely warm weather, seas a perfect temperature for a swim, great wild surroundings and its like you are walking on lego pieces all the way down the beach!!
Right so… you have been warned!
Its a lovely beach, we went in the afternoon so it was quiet , no kids , very peaceful and we decided to stay for a couple of hours and found it very very relaxing.
For a beach that’s a little off the beaten track there is a restaurant, surf school and some amenities nearby , lots of lovely views and to be honest, it was worth the drive to to swim and relax for the afternoon.
As for the plethora of pebbles and rocks… I walked back along the beach to the car park by wading in the sea… much better option…. So kiddies, if you come to this beach… bring footwear :)
Dan Daly — Google review
Beautiful coastline but there's nothing more than a few sunbeds, keep in mind. The restaurant next to the road is good.
Ingrid Dillen — Google review
The "must see" term is so overused nowadays, but finally I'm able to use it properly as it should be. Rarely, but accurately. If you want to see a beautiful sunset in Kos people usually argue whether you should watch it from Zia or Aigos Theologos. Multiple locals have recommended Theologos for us, and man.. Did we enjoy it.. It is easily accessible with any car (or bike or quad) but if you are on foot you can ask any transfer agency for ~7-10 Eur to take you there (depending on your location). If you are staying in kefalos please.. Spend one night with your loved one here, it's cozy, no crowd, great food, restaurant owner and crew really professional and nice... The tables are on a balcony with overview to the sea. Really spectacular

We'll be back for sure.
Of course - driveway is challenging as it is only tarmac, but standard car can handle that.

Breathing views, clear water, not crowded, amazing.
One minus is that the beach bar plays really loud electronic music, which doesn't fit there, according to me, but if you go a little further from it, it should be fine.
Also, bring food, because the bar serves only toast and chips, but at 3 o clock the toasts were finished.
The road is a little difficult, but doable.

True hidden gem of the island, it was the highlight of our trip. It is the perfect sandy beach one can ask for! However, we did not look up well enough the road conditions, and rented a small Daihatsu to get there, which was a struggle. You have to climb up and down a mountain to get there, no fence on the side of the curvy, dirty road. Only go with a driver that has experience in driving in the mountains.
Sunbeds are 10€ per day, the lady was really unfriendly, so we laid our towels.
Eszter Kovacs — Google review
Absolutely amazing. It was a bit tricky to get there with a Suzuki city car, but we managed that mainly on 1st gear. Road back is a bit harder. Beach itself is beautiful and lovely.

One of the best beach, despite the bad road it's definitely worth a visit, awesome view, super club music, cleanest whater in the island, great location and nice staff.

Wonderful semi-wild beach in Kefalos! I definitely recommend it.
Cliffs and mountains in the background, clear and not too cold water.
There is a bar that apparently serves only drinks. And about 20-25 umbrellas with sun beds for rent (10€ per day per umbrella with 2 beds). But there is also quite some space to lay down freely on the sand.
The downside for me is that the bar plays loud techno music all day long, which doesn’t match with the wild and relaxing landscape.
At low tide you can probably walk to the nearby cove to the south. But better bring suitable footwear to walk on rocks and check the tide to avoid being cut off.
Yes the road to get there is unpaved and sometimes steep. But I got there and back safely in a very normal small car. And so did many other normal cars that I saw in the car park (more normal cars than ATVs and 4x4s).
I just followed the route indicated by Google Maps and drove slowly, paying attention to rocks and potholes on the way. It took me about 30-40 minutes to drive from Kefalos village. 10-20 km/h on the roughest/steepest stretches of the road. The road is wide enough for 2 cars to pass.
Keep low gears engaged: 2nd or 1st in the steepest/roughest stretches, both uphill and downhill. I run most of the totally unpaved stretch in 1st gear. Keep your clutch pedal up at all times unless you almost come to a stop or when switching gears. Try to keep the side of the road that is smoothest, since there is nearly no traffic. If possible steer away from big rocks and potholes, otherwise tackle them at walking speed. It will be perfectly fine… and fun :-)
Matteo Bussani — Google review
This was the highlight of my trip . It is a very beautiful and relaxing beach!
To get there we had to drive through a narrow road in the mountains. It was challenging. I recommend you go there with quads .
Just be careful when driving .
There is a bar there that offer only drinks, prices are okay .
Asma Boussabat — Google review
Its a very nice place, but to many wasps on the beach. U can also drive with a normal car, but drive slow beacuse there are som big rocks on the road. When u leave the place its a very steep slope, so use the first gear only. We wisited this place early in the morning, no sign of people.

One of our favourite 3 beaches in Kos. Only accessible by dirt track. Not really suitable for normal cars, but great fun in a dune buggy, quad or 4 x 4 jeep. We hired a basic dune buggy with 150 cc engine and it was an awesome experience driving there. Very scenic drive.
The beach is set in front of high cliffs with a sandy beach. Very dramatic and secluded. I can't imagine it gets crowded. There is a shack selling drinks (alcoholic or soft) with a covered seating area and some sunbeds and parasols. You can walk along the beach quite a way to explore and even paddle/swim to the next cove.
David Ashton-Hollis — Google review
Wow! What an incredibile beach!
Quite a journey to arrive but definetly worth a visit.
Be advised that it will take almost half an hour off-road route, so check your type of vehicle.
If you get there early in the morning maybe you can enjoy some time completely alone. Outstanding!

Fantastic sandy beach with crystal clear waters - plenty of facilities including inflatable waterpark, jet skis, towables - our favourite was definitely the Sofas!

Good war museum covering the battle for Leros in WWII. Housed in the old tunnels the Italians built to store munitions. If you're interested, it's worth reading up in advance, "Churchill's Folly" or other books on the subject. The museum has several videos running non stop as well if you didn't brush up on it. Google said it was closed, but we called first and it is open from 9:30 to13:30.

A good Museum to learn more about the WWII on Leros. Here a big battle take place between Germany and the England/french troops. There are many old artefacts (guns, projectiles, bikes, machines).
But you have to pay for all the this.
You can watch a 10 minute movie there too about the war on Leros.

A must-see if you are visiting Leros.. learnt a lot about the history of this island especially the Battle of Leros. The visiting hours were not accurate on google as we came in the afternoon and it was closed. Had to come again the next day as it opens only from 9am-1pm.
Clariss C — Google review
A must-visit place when in Leros. It might be small but it is jam-packed full of exhibits from 2nd world war era when the island got annihilated by the german troops.
Entrance fee is ridiculously low (3€) and it really is worth visiting to help the council and the personnel to keep on preserving and showcasing all these exhibits.
You really do get a sense or history when inside these Italian-made tunnels.
Aris Galatis — Google review
Visited back in 2006 and a well maintained collection of the battle of Leros. At that time the museum was closed but the volunteers were very helpful to give a private tour. Many thanks for that because we still remember this experience.

Great museum, small but so many to see. Also a 7-8’ movie about the island history of 2nd world war. The old man at the entrance (Kyriakos) really friendly and helpful

Described in the guide books as a collection of archives but so much more. Moving retelling of the battle of Leros through collection of recovered military equipment and clothing and film. Only 3 euros entrance fee. Set in tunnels where civilians hid during the bombing.
Hotel Panteli Beach Studios & Apartments is a comfortable establishment that offers well-appointed suites complete with fully equipped kitchens. The hotel itself has a relaxed atmosphere and features a cozy restaurant/bar adorned with stone walls. Situated on Pantali Beach, guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the crystal-clear blue sea, anchored yachts, and charming blue and white houses.
We searched for a location for our family visiting Leros for the first time. Finding Panteli Apartment and suites made their trip exceptional. This was a family of five (two adults and three kids). We looked around and selected an apartment and a suite right across from each other. The rooms worked out great, the location right across the street from a family friendly beach and the staff made this a place I would highly recommend. Sophia in the front office took care of every request with cheer; they needed a rental car for two days, a taxi, extra towels, etc all taken care of with a friendly attitude. Amelia in the cafe helped with all food requests. The beach front has sun beds and towels for guests with snacks and drinks available. The beach front has four restaurants to choose from in addition to the cafe. There is a cafe next door with sorbet and coffee and a small grocery store nearby. Our family left hoping to come back again one day.

Pebble Beach with clear waves - the hotel and restaurant are located right on the beach. Small village with narrow one-way streets.

We sat in a lovely tavern on Pantali Beach. The view of a clear blue sea, anchored yachts and blue and white houses is heartening and makes you want to stay in this lovely corner for longer. The buildings near the beach have been renovated and the street has become a promenade with food stores, taverns, confectionery, home decoration accessories, original jewelry and more, it's really fun to walk around and experience and shop. Definitely recommended.

We were here mid winter. Staff did their best to make us comfortable but the room was difficult to keep warm with the AC and electric bar fire. Also., the water in the shower never really heated up.

We have stayed here multiple times. Extremely great service and the location in Panteli is absolutely the best. The beach is literally a few feet away with sun beds/loungers (no extra charge), food and drink service and they have an adjacent restaurant. Housekeeping is incredible. I’ve never seen any of the incredible ladies without a smile on their face or asking what they could provide you.
The local mini mart with pretty much everything you would ever need it also just a few feet away. Food, spirits, toiletries, etc. Great dining options along the beach (our favorite is psarapoula directly across from the hotel) and the very epic savana bar for drinks if you feel like going out.

Nice hotel just in front of Panteli Beach. The best hotel of Pandeli and one of the best in Leros. The perception is that in the last year's the prices have been reduced and now are in line with the competitors. I suggest to improve the WiFi signal.
I never swim on that beach. It has wild waves and dark volcanic sand. I have been there several times for the sunset. It's a perfect, romantic place to watch the sunset. You can walk towards the end of the beach to have more privacy and a better view of the sun. It's beautiful.

Very nice beach frequent by locals so not that touristy! Also locas say that this beach has particularly clean waters (I can’t tell the difference, all have Cristal clear water!) it has a beach bar with decent prices and food and the lunges are £3 WiFi included!
Highly recommend it!

Whould be nice if they had some sunbeds and decent cafeterias. The sea has seaweed and i dont like that. Other than that a reaply nice beach with sand.

A great beach with volcanic sand. Very clean and a nice bar/taverns for food and drinks. A family place.
Agios Stefanos Beach is a stunning spot to spend a day in Kos, perfect for swimming and enjoying the views of the channel of turquoise water on Kastri island. The beach is also great for windsurfing and kitesurfing, with nearby restaurants serving up delicious food.
Very long beach partially sand/partially stones. The water is incredible clean. The bay is normally downvwind so the sea is used to be calm. Really fun and easy to reach the small island with the characteristic church on the top. On the bad side the view behind the beach is nothing special.

The beach itself is a perfect place where ancient history meets unbelievably beautiful nature. You can see remains of basilicas and just across it, surrounded by the sea, rocky island which is extremely "instagramable". You can get sunbeds and an umbrella (10e per set per day) but you should go there earlier in the morning. Not many spots. There is no cafe, but there is the staff from a nearby bar/restaurant, they can take your order and deliver coffee or food to you.

Our absolutely favourite beach in Kos. Lovely sand, good water, and a very cool ruin next to it. Some very sweet and friendly cats in the area, so bring cat treats and hand wash - and we 100000% recommend making the swim to the island. You can walk a lot of the way, and if you bring some googles or a swimming mask, diving is very fun with the fish.

This is our favourite all round beach in Kos and a must see if you plan on driving around the island and exploring a little. It is beautifully situated with ancient ruins, a rocky island and a couple of nice beach areas. You can swim or pedalo to the island and ring the bell on the side of the building.
The beach is good for swimming, sun bathing, snorkeling exploring rocky coves or just chilling. There is also a big choice of restaurants further along the beach.

Very nice beach. Water was clear and it was possible to swim to the island. One sunshade cost 5 Euro a day.
In my eyes it was fair.
One of the best beaches of Kos.

Love it! My favourite in Kos.
Easy accessible with parking area across.
There’s a spot on the corner of the beach which is amazing for beautiful view on the island, for the level of water which allows you to have long walk inside refrigerating your legs and for quite environment.
Possibility to have both: public space or 2 sun lounges with parasol at 13 euro per day.
Not so far, just 10 minutes by walk there’s taverna Katerina. Mix of both is incomparable.
Very suggested!

One of the best non-natural beaches in the island with ruins of basilica. There is also a small beautiful island with a chapel. You can walk a half way in the water there.

Beautiful place, a lot of tourists, we did not swim. I bought cherries, but Polish ones are much tastier😃
El?bieta Soko?owska — Google review
The most fun beach of our whole holiday! The island really gives this beach some character.
There are water sport activities to hire here too!
If you walk towards the bars away from the island, there a lots of beds which we were able to use (not sure they belong to the hotels behind them, but we were not asked to move).
The beds at the entrance of the beach (from the carpark) belong to iKos, don’t sit here as they will ask you to move, these are for guests only.
It is quite shallow water swimming over to the island, however it’s quite a swim, so if you’re not not a confident swimmer, I wouldn’t risk it without a life jacket.
Also, if you swim over to the island, you may need swimming shoes, as the rocks to climb up are steep and you would need shoes to climb them.
Zo? Bird — Google review
It was amazing.
We took the pedal for 20 euros for an hour and went on the little island in front of the beach. The colours there are fantastic, a real therapy for the eyes.

Really enjoyed the beach with its ruins and the view of the little island. Also there is a little bar with sandwiches and drinks on reasonable prices.
Sandy beach, cristal clear water, with sone trees near the ruins providing shadow of you don't choos sunbeds and umbrellas.
Also, if you can, do swim to the little island. The views are amazing.
Claudia Caraba — Google review
It's one of the nicest sandy beaches on island of Kos with spectacular view of the small island with a church accross - you can swim over and visit the island, takes about 5-10 minutes. The beach features a nice gradual enternance into the turquise water. There's a parking nearby and you can rent deck chair in the shade for about 10€. But beware, the beach is well-known, so can be busy. Would definitelly visit again when visiting Kos!
Ilija German Ilić — Google review
The most clean beach of Kos between Paradise, Tam Tam, Marmari and Thermes beaches. If you swim a bit far away, crystal clear water is where you find yourself in :) As being beside the ruins of the Basilica St. Stefanos, it also becomes distinct from the rest.

Really stunning beach! The ancient ruins are a must visit considering the back drop of the ocean.
The beach itself is very clean with crystal clear water. Excellent for cooling down as the water is not very deep.

Just awesome, the walk up there is a pilgrimage, especially if you do it from Panormos🥴🤣🤣🤣,actually only 7 km but it comes with uphill/downhill on a hot day in June, so it took longer than expectedl😇. Up there, only staff was there cleaning altar utensils, so it was really nice after the long walk, just sitting there and chatting a bit
Monastery is wonderful, you can see the monk's cell of Saint Savvas and lots of relics. Also how people asked for protection from the Saint and thanked for healing and good work life, offering their crutches and captain's hats. Very touching experience. Very friendly nuns there. And breathtaking view, especially if you walk up🤣. Come early in the morning, watch the opening times( closes at 1pm to 4pm!!!), You have the monastery for you alone. 100% recommended👍❤️
Daniela Willbold — Google review
awesome experience, wlked there from Panormos, quite a hike, around 7 km, doesn't sound much but comes with up's and down's, so, if you do kt on a hot june day, can be bit challenging. The monastery is a place to be when you are on Kalymnos, since Saint Savvas is a very powerful saint, you will see it with the thanksgivings of people in the room close to Saint Savva's monk's cell. Very very touching and impressive. You can also go up by car and drive to the monastery if you have any mobility issues.

The church of Saint Savvas is situated on the top of the hill and can be seen once the ship docks in. Stands out with its beautiful architecture and wall paintings!
Yes it is the number 1 place to visit in the island! Yes you can see and walk on the center of a volcano! You can hear the lava boiling inside and see smoke while getting used to the sulphur smell. So unique experience!!!!! Just don't miss this place!

We made a day trip here with our group. Really wonderful natural spectacle. Both the view from the village above and the view on site or even in the crater leave you speechless. Very great tourist attraction which was also well organised by the guide. However, one has to deal with the emerging smell of sulphur.
Arl Robin Ferhati — Google review
Honestly is better around it and the very (lonley) road to reach it there but... would you go to Nyssiros without walking down the volcano? Please, don't. Go there, walk down, enjoy feeling the power of Polyvnos, the Titan who've been fought by Neptune, still full of rage screaming down in the sea at the bottom of the island. 🤯
The Lido WaterPark in Mastichari offers slides, toys and service facilities, including restaurants, snack bar, coffee bar, office and changing rooms. Lifeguards have been trained to ensure the safety of swimming pool visitors and water slide riders.
It’s a very good place for children but also adults can find here a lot of interesting attractions. There is a free bus from many places on the island so you can easily go there. If you choose a car then there is a big parking. There are some restaurants inside so it’s not a problem to eat lunch during a day. The park is not the newest one but still you can enjoy it.
Tomasz Kuc — Google review
Visited here on a TUI excursion last week.
We were given 6.5 hours in the Waterpark which was absolutely plenty! We immediately noticed how quiet the Waterpark was, which was lovely and meant we didn’t have to hang around for slides or food all day.
We started off by going on the lazy river, double ring flume and then the wave pool. They were all amazing fun.
We then grabbed some lunch in the main restaurant. They were very understaffed (one taking orders, one cooking, one cleaning tables), and as such the food took about 20 mins to be ordered and then 40 mins to arrive, but it’s understandable with it being quite big and only one per area.
We then completed the rest of the slides and water areas, had an ice cream and a drink and tried out the cold jacuzzi which was great too.
All in all a lovely day, really lucky that it was so quiet so we could do everything multiple times without queuing.
The locker system had changed slightly since our last visit. You now pay €5.00 to retrieve a key, and when you return it you get €2.00 back, so overall cost is €3.00. They take both cash and card for this, and returned monies is cash.

Great place to visit for children and adults as well. Safety supervised by lifeguards all the time.
All kinds of facilities and water entertainement. Fast, curvy slides, pool with artificial wave, artificial current, water park for children, bar with alcohol, drinks and food.
Big parking lot in front. Water was warm in the temperature above 30 deg C.
Many tropical plants and flowers, smiling people and music make the atmosphere like real happy summer.
IMPORTANT: 5 euro cash required to pay for locker, 2 return after giving back the key.
Ticket, drinks and food can be purchased with card.
PRZEMYSLAW B — Google review
Really nice, chill environment. Waves were great. Only slight glitch was the restaurant, food was lovely, but as there is only one waitress taking orders, and you can't order at the till it really slows the process down, and with hot and hungry kids led to unhappy lunchtime. Other than that, really enjoyed our time here.
John McGrath — Google review
Great water park to go with your family! Was here in september 2023 and it was almost totally empty in the shoulder season. Was fun for both kids and adults with some water slides being quite fast! The park is well maintained, has plenty of deck chairs and sun umbrellas. Has a bar and a quick-bite restaurant. Would come back again when on island of Kos.
Ilija German Ilić — Google review
Entry fee was quite high (17€/adult) but I understand it's because of maintaince. Drinks are there really expensive. It's fun for 2-3 hours not for whole day . But if u take kids with you, maybe it's for whole day. I just don't understand why on big slides where are 3 tubes ,stand only one life guard to let you go down. Floor is lava ,wear a good beach shoes. Lazy river was relaxing ,big slides, crazy rivers and space bowl was exciting.

Brilliant water park! Came for my sons 8th birthday. Arrived early, no queues. Lifeguards attentive. It is a medium sized park with about 7 main big slides a lido pool, and a fantastic wave pool. Food so so as expected for these places. Do visit if you are in Kos.

Lovely clean park. It wasn't too busy when we went. Queues moved quickly. The ground around some of the slides is very hot and burns your feet!
Essex on the hour every hour but big waves at 12 and 4! My girls loved this.
Foot good value for money.
Not the biggest waterpark I've been to but as a family it was well priced and the teenagers enjoyed it! Definitely worth a visit.
Gillian Mcmillan — Google review
We had a great day (7 hours) here on our most recent visit. Arriving a few minutes after opening time (10am) we queued to pay and enter for about 15 minutes but under a nice shaded canopy. Entrance was €22 per adult. The place swallows easily what feels like a lot of people when you first arrive and we were surrounded by empty sunbeds all day. Sunbeds are free to use and plentiful and in all areas of the park. We never queued too long for any rides and loved the lazy river. Food options are pretty standard fast food fayre but quickly served and fresh and hot when arrived. Find an empty table at one of the two cafes and it is table service. We did not find it tired or poorly maintained but clean, open and very pleasant.
Pete Lymn — Google review
It's a nice water park to spend a day if you are on holidays in Kos for a week, especially for kids. The price is €22 for adults and there is a free bus from Kos. We went at the end of September so it was pretty empty and we didn't have to queue for anything. Food was ok and you can get a locker for €5 (cash only) and they give you €2 back when you return the key.
There is room for improvement:
- The bus picked us up at the third stop 20 mins late.
- The water park has speakers everywhere playing very loud music so you can't have quiet time or even listen to your own music. Besides, the speakers aren't good enough to play music that loud so there was bad crackling sometimes.
- The lazy river is very lazy (slow), so you get stuck in some parts and it's hard to move forward. Also the water was very cold here and in the jacuzzi.
Manuel Álvarez García — Google review
Easy to get to, it was a quite, off-peak day at the end of May. There was no queuing for anything. There are 8 slides in total and a lazy river. We entered the park at 10.30 and left at 3.30 and we had a ball. Well worth a visit if you like the waterparks. Not as big as most, but very friendly staff, clean and safe.

A free bus run by Lido collected us from hotel. Busy. Given a card to keep which allows you to get free return journey.
No food or drink allowed in. Didn't know until paying so still took ours in. Did buy ice creams and sweets. Reasonably priced.
Advisable to wear flip flops....floor can be very hot, but ok if you stick to white painted strips. However 2 of the 3 of us had tiny splinters or something in our feet, painful and hard to remove.
Lazy River was great.
Big slides fun
Wave pool, think waves on the hour
Some slides are age restricted, 13
Nice lidos
Clear
Music playing
Good atmosphere
Return bus times are advertised 2.30am on a board at entrance and loud speaker warns you with 20 minutes to spare to change
We were at Kosta Palace, collected 10am
Collected 4.15pm
Thoroughly recommend

Antimachia Castle is a picturesque Venetian fortress built in the Middle Ages, offering stunning views over Antimachia Village. The walls of the fortress are in excellent condition, and make for a great backdrop for wedding photography.
We done the walk twice to Antimachia Castle. Great views and a great walk, approximately 4 kilometers from bottom to top. Just follow the yellow brick road and you won't be disappointed. Beautiful views and a good start to your day. We are in our 50's, 32 degrees and enjoyed it!

There is no entrance fee. We were there in November and we were alone there. The castle or the remaining of is a little bit elevated, hence there is a fantastic view around. There is a carpark in front of the castle, no parking fee.

An absolutely amazing place. It's so quiet here, a great place to think. The views from ALL sides are stunning and you can feel the history all around.

This massive 14th/15th century fortress is very impressive with its size. The huge, imposing walls still stand but the once bustling citadel inside has largely been reduced to rubble sadly. A few walls still stand and there's still plenty to explore once inside so it's definitely worth a visit. The views of the surrounding landscapes are breathtaking. Try to go early in time morning or late in the evening and avoid the sun as it's baking at its highest level with practical nowhere to shade yourself.
David F — Google review
The man met us at the entrance in full costume, his English was good and the entrance fee (cash ONLY) is at the customers discretion. He gave a brief overview of the history of the site.
The building and area has good footpaths, but little to no safety features if you're taking children. There are amazing views, but no information.
There is little shade if you visit during the middle of the day, but I still found it worth an hour of my time.

beautiful ruins of a castle, it looks like in past it was more visited but now it´s not that well kept, there are no facilities and some parts are overgrown, but the view is great, it’s free, you can park directly by the wall

A huge fortress, free entrance, I and my wife enjoyed visiting this place very much. We were impressed by a family of five - young parents with three children: a five-year-old girl, a toddler and a baby -- they came here on three bicycles -- what a performance! We came by car which is the easiest way to get here. We saw the islands to the South, including Nissyros, but I was not sure whether the big, wider one with several mountain peaks was Rodos?
Leszek J. — Google review
Rough and derelict, to be honest, most imposing part is the drive up. The entry and northern walls are pretty much all that's still standing apart from a couple of small churches and disgusting toilets covered in goat droppings. Random guy at the front gate dressed as a traditional greek guard charges you to say hello with zero information. Luckily, when I said I had no cash , I was telling the truth.
The interior is pretty much all rough ground, so if you have physical disabilities not the best idea. The views, though, are really good. You can see why the location was chosen for a Fort. 500 year old citadel is in poor condition. But at least you can shade under a tree and look at the views

Beautiful castle with a lot of mixed architecture both venician and Ottoman. Build in the late middle ages by the Knights of St.John.
Free entrance.
Fred Schnepf — Google review
This is an old Fort, you could call it a castle, the entrance fee is a contribution, you will be greeted, probably, by a Greek gentleman wearing traditional clothing. The castle is a big pile of stones, the views are tremendous and this is very close to the main road it is worth a 5 minute detour.
Take water, whatever temperature is says in your car, add 5 degrees.

The beach is conveniently close to shopping amenities, making it easy for visitors to access everything they need.
