The tickets themselves were bought pretty quickly, but to get into the booth you have to wait, because. cabins do not go often, about one every 10 minutes. Let eight people in. Wonderful views of Pyatigorsk open up from the top of the mountain! Girls offer to take a free photo. Upstairs there is a fountain, benches, they sell soft and strong drinks. Very tasty mulled wine. The return descent took at least an hour, but all the time to go in the shade of tree crowns. But the next day, the calves of the legs were very sore)), because. it is these muscles that are very tense when you go downhill for a long time). But what a unique pine smell and the singing of birds surrounds when you pass through the pines warmed by the sun, growing along the path. Miracle!!

A beautiful place to visit. The river, the amazing waterfalls, the whole environment is beautiful and amazing. It's also a great place to pick up some beautifully made local items: scarves, sweaters, gloves, and much more, which helps the local economy. The Kafe U Kurmana is an excellent and fascinating place to eat, built up against the rock wall. We got a couple of skewers of meat and some flatbread things; I forget what they were called. I heard some local people say the food was ordinary and a bit high priced, but we enjoyed it. If you are an American as I am, the US State Department has a "level 4 travel advisory-Do Not Travel" for this area, but I had no problems of any kind, and found the people there friendly and welcoming. My Russian friend and I took a tour bus from Zheleznovodsk to the area. We also visited Nalchik and a hot mineral water pool in the area. If you are in the North Caucasus area I definitely recommend a visit.

(Translated by Google) On a hill, built from natural stone that was carried by hand from the banks of the Fiagdon River, the Fiagdon Monastery looks more like a monumental Byzantine castle than a quiet monastery of monks. Resting in enfilades against the rock, carried away by old watchtowers into the clouds, securely clinging to the domes of the monastery, the monastery is monumental, strict and seemingly impregnable, like a good fortress. Impressive stone walls, heavy forged bars, the huge space of the monastery, its location - everything looks absolutely right. The mountainous setting of the monastery from the huge terrace also seems particularly true; on the opposite slope a huge cross is built into the rock.
Inside the temple is in the woods, because the painting of the walls and ceiling is not yet finished; but rich paintings and carved marble iconostases are already visible. A certain splendor of the place is due to the modernity of the building - space and light

At 16,581 feet above sea level, Mt Kazbek is an impressive extinct volcano offering hiking and climbing routes. Also known as Mount Kazbegi or Mkinvartsveri in Georgian, it's nicknamed The Bride due to its often fog-shrouded peak. Located on the border of Georgia's Kazbegi District, reaching the mountain takes a two to three-hour drive followed by a walk due to slippery ice.
It's a long trip from the town center but the view is breathtaking it was really worth the visit. It's very windy and the ground is slippery during the winter season so tread carefully.

Choose your route 😉

We did the hike from the Trinity Church parking lot (total: 12.5 km - 900 meters in altitude - 5 hours)
It is advisable to bring a jacket as it is quite windy at the foot of the Kazbel.
There are two options for climbing. The path splits after about 1.5km.
1. Along the left you will lose sight of the Kazbek for a while, walk through a beautiful, scree-filled valley and then be surprised with a wonderful view of the Kazbek.
2. To the left you walk on a ridge covered with meadows and the Kazbek is almost always in front of you.

One can hike to Altihut (about 3150m) or even up to the glacier (3300m or so) as a regular hiking. Above that the things become more complicated. Unless you have mountains experience, you'll need special equipment and a guide to make it to the summit. But the views worth that! Nothing comparable to the view from the highest top in Georgia!

No matter how loud the forest might sing, with its chirping birds and roaring rivers, it will rather enhance the gentle whispers of my soul - while the noise of a single person could silence them completely. I don't seek solitude for the sake of being alone, but for diving into the deeper layers of myself - where those guiding voices reside.

One of the major mountains of the Caucasus located on the border of Georgia's Kazbegi District. Drive to the mountains takes around two to three hours, and most cars dont go all the way near the mountains, as the ice gets very slippery. So probably yu'd have to take a 1m walk. But trust me, its worth it! There's an old Church on the top, with stunning views n lots of snow!

It was one of my favorite places to go and finally I reached the summit on August 12, 2019 with a group of mountaineers from Iran.

Gergeti Trinity Church, a 14th-century cross-cupola church located in the mountains above Kazbegi in Georgia, is an iconic symbol of the country for its scenic hilltop location with Mt Kazbek towering behind it. The challenging task of constructing the church on such a lofty and remote spot highlights the immense effort involved.
Absolutely breathtaking views, the mountain is amazingly beautiful. So much to see and discover all around. The church stands on top of the mountain and is such a lovely sight. Definitely worth the visit despite being a long trip.

Unsurprisingly, this location is one of the most picturesque in Georgia. You have a couple of options for getting there. One way is by renting a Delica from local drivers, available in the town center in front of the Spar shop. Alternatively, you could choose a light trek: the easiest path starts at the cemetery and stretches about 1.5 km. It's mainly stairs, and it leads you right to the main road at the parking lot in front of the Church. There's also another path accessible from the small tower beneath the hill, although I wouldn't recommend it if the weather is rainy.
You can capture the best shots of the church from the parking lot, though the cars parked outside can sometimes obstruct the view. As for Mkinvartsveri (Mount Kazbegi), it is often covered in clouds. You would need to be quite lucky to get a clear view, with early morning or late evening presenting the best opportunities for a sunrise or sunset experience.
Next to the parking lot, you'll find a free toilet. The church shop is generally open, but there are times when it's closed.
Please note that drone usage is not permitted in the church area.
No photos available inside the church.
Sunday service usually lasts till 1pm maximum.

Beautiful location and definitely a must visit if you're in the area.
Do ignore the signs at the bottom claiming the road can only be accessed by off-road vehicles. I can only speculate some taxi drivers put it up to sell their rides. The road is in a lot better condition than a lot of other roads. You can park for free very close to it. Of course you can also hike there.

During autumn, spring and summer I would like to recommend to hike up through the forest and go down by other trail next to Gergeti Tower. The church is nice and has a breathtaking view to the mountains. It could be a bit windy up there so think about to have a proper clothes. Also this place could be crowded. But if you are staying in Kazbegi for more than one day then I would like definitely to visit this place.

One of the best places to visit in Georgia. fantastic view of the church with a mind blowing mountains and Kazbegi city views. In the winter only 4x4 cars can reach there also I don’t recommend to drive to there if you don’t have enough driving experience on the snow and iced roads you can find a lot of local drivers with their 4x4 cars you can rent a tour by 50-70 GEL. Try visiting before the sunset so that you can get great photos of the church with clear mountains and city views. 👌🏼👌🏼

We went there on the first week of May and the weather happened to be perfect. We hiked up to Gergeti Trinity Church and the views are extraordinary. There weren’t many people there and if you’re up for it, you can keep hiking from there till the a glacier. The hiking trail to the church may not be the easiest especially if you aren’t much of hiker or haven’t been on too many hikes, but definitely doable and enjoyable for everyone.

We visited the place twice on the same day.. In the morning it was raining and covered with fog. In the evening it was so amazing climate and the wind was getting stronger. We have taken local taxi 4x4 to reach there. First time we chose the offroad path and the trip was memorable. The driver was well experienced and he was taking some adventurous turns. Second time we directly went to the church. Obviously it would have been a disappointing mistake if we would have cancelled the second visit..

How wonderful it is. Amazing of stunning views of mountains with snow capped in background of beautiful monastery. Even this monastery is a bit little but it’s worth to visit for breathtaking in winter. There are 4WD vehicles serviced by local drivers for safety during snowfall.

Beautiful and historical Georgian church. The views from the church are breathtaking. When I visited I was fortunate enough to be able to see the snow covered top of Mount Kazbek as the I was told that's not always possible. I visited in early September and it was already much cooler in the mountains compared to Tblisi, so dress accordingly.

So happy to be visiting. Beautiful views. Although the day we got here it was cloudy and windy, the area was covered in snow and ice. You can get candles inside by donation. Shame that the Delica service (70 Lari per car) hotel organised for us only incorrectly gave us 30 mins to see this time even though Rooms Kazbegi hotel told us 45mins. Getting through the icy footpath already took 10 mins! The next day we tried to hike up but the snow was too much to make it safe for us to get further. It was doable by other people I know we were just being too careful.

We trekked to the church rather than the drive that most people do. Would totally recommend the trek. It takes you through some really beautiful meadows. However, if you want to go to the glacier, drive would be better to save time. At the church itself there is not much to do or see. It's all about the location. You get some fantastic causcus mountain views from here

Finally visited Gergeti Trinity Church last early March! It snowed a day earlier so we were not sure if we could drive there. We were lucky because the road was open (though we waited for around 30 mins as it was initially closed).
The place was amazing!!! It was white around the area and the Church standing on top a hill was such a nice view. If you wish to light a candle inside, there was a shop down the Church to buy candles but there was also inside for donation.
When we were driving up, I saw a walking trail so would love to come back there again during spring or summer for some hiking!

The beauty of the place can't be described in words. You have to visit it yourself and see the breathtaking views of the mountains and church itself. It's definitely worth visiting.

Amazing view from the Church! It’s surrounded by snowy Rocky Mountains and the view is phenomenal! It was hard to get up there during winter time and it was super slippery. We had so much fun going there and the nervousness!

In winter season use 4x4 only from local people about 50 Gel. It safe for you and everyone.

Located near the city of Stepantsminda, Gergeti Trinity Church is a must visit church if you are in Georgia. There are some monks who serve and live there.
You can hike to the church or go up by a car, but it is recommended to go by a 4x4 if the road is wet as it is very steep.
When we visited, it was too foggy so we didn’t manage to see the views surrounding the church.

Beautiful church in a perfect location.. It is also a monastry where monks and nuns live. Nuns make cheese, honey, gem ornaments, wine, etc. all sold for interested visitors. Must visit place!
Panorama Gudauri is a must-see place when traveling to Gudauri and Kazbegi. The journey to Panorama Gudauri takes approximately 3.5 hours, with the option of stopping off at Ananuri and the Russia-Georgia Friendship Monument along the way. The monument, built in 1983, commemorates the centenary of the Treaty of Georgievsk and celebrates the friendship between Soviet Georgia and Soviet Russia.
Must see place when you are traveling to Gudauri and Kazbegi.

Best company ever good service good price and one if the best pilot. If you decide fly or not please don’t decide about this because life is one and if you want to enjoy let’s do it straight and fast.good luck for everyone thank you 🤟

A great experience with fly Gudauri. Awesome pilot and staffs made our experience much better. It was indeed a fearsome flight due to the high wind but the pilot made it much easy for me. We got the videos of the flight the next day itself and they made it possible without further delay. The location was also great. The cost per head was 300 Lari and it was all the same with all companies across Gudauri. This is a must visit place and paragliding make the trip more adventurous.

They also operate a 4 wheel moto rental wich is the biggest tourist trap waste of money you can do in Georgia. 200 GEL do spend 20 minutes going up a small hill and back, and not allowed to go faster than 3km/hr. Avoid that part.

Vartsla Mountain, apart hotel New Gudauri, apt 109, Gudauri 4702, Georgia
The Gudauri Ski Resort is a mountainous winter destination that offers over 70km of ski slopes, multiple lifts, and off-piste skiing. It's an ideal place for first-time visitors due to its astonishing views and helpful staff. However, visitors should be aware that the chair lifts stop working at 5 pm sharp, although there are night skiing options available on Fridays and Saturdays from 8 pm till 10 pm.
One week stay at this resort. So amazing and memorable experience. It’s so cheap, you won’t be able to compare it with any other European ski resorts. Similar experience for cheaper price. Highly recommended.
Thasreef Balarath — Google review
Gudauri is a pretty lovely place. It's quite a drive from Tbilisi, but you'll have a similar drive in any European resort.
There's a pretty decent amount of skiing on offer, so there's plenty to keep beginner to intermediate skiers occupied. Advanced skiers can do plenty of off-piste skiing, but it may not be super challenging. There's only a few red and black runs, so you might not get your thrill on in Gudauri.
I saw a lot of parachute experiences, which I must say looked cool (I didn't try it though).
The runs aren't bad, but marking of the runs, signage and maps felt like they were in short supply. Lifts were fine, there's a gondola, there's a ski park, there's stuff for kids. Not bad.
Restaurants were a bit hit and miss on the slopes, but generally not bad. There's a better selection in New Gudauri where the gondola start.
The "free skiing" area over the back of the mountain where the gondolas go is quite lovely and long.
We stayed in the Marco Polo and it was a pretty decent stay. Given pricing and what's on offer, I think we'll definitely be back in Gudauri in future and hope it will be constantly improving over time.
Zak — Google review
26.12.-06.01. - no snow. It’s forbidden to take ski or snowboard to lift them up in the cabin. But you can pay guys on snow scooters privately 50 Lari, they will lift you up with ski kit. Funny.
Iryna Krushnyak — Google review
The ski paths could be better signalized, as is a place known to beginners. The park closes at 5 and from a day to the other closes at 4, so to enjoy you should go early. The rest was good. There is places to eat and drink. Cable carts have good maintenance.
Kimberly Flores — Google review
Brilliant place for even the first time visitors. Astonishing views and full of people ready to help you if need be. Just make sure that you are done skiing or snowboarding until 5 pm, as the chair lifts stop working at that exact time. There are also days of night skiing from 8pm till 10pm usually on Fridays and Saturdays.
Davit Tsitsishvili — Google review
Very nice ski resort, with plenty of slopes, lifts, restaurants, snowmobiles and ski rentals. However - 1. Very poorly marked - can't tell which level of slope you are entering into. 2. Even green slopes have red level segments. 3. Bottom mountain lifts have no backup power generator. 4. No clear marking of various location points, thus making it almost impossible to find a meeting point for newcomers. Even locals can't explain clearly. 5. There are taxi and ski training cartels, controlling prices and artificially upscaling them. In the past they even forcefully forbid foreigners to work, thus securing jobs for locals.
Gary Gelfand — Google review
Gudauri ski resort is amazing! It's awesome because they have different ski slopes for all skill levels. Whether you're just starting or you're a pro, there's a slope for you.
But what makes Gudauri extra special is the restaurants on the first terrace. They're not only great for taking a break while skiing, but they also serve really tasty food, and you get to enjoy it with the most incredible views of the beautiful mountains. Skiing and delicious dining with a view – it's a perfect combo that made my trip to Gudauri unforgettable. If you love skiing and stunning scenery, you've got to check out Gudauri

Limited pistes. Don’t know how they calculate total kilometers, but in reality there is 2 very short black pistes, would say max 1-2km, 2 red pistes, also few kilometers and whats left, everything is blue/green. Actually 2 days of skiing is more than enaught here. If there is no fresh snow, then not much to do at all. Slopes preparation is also not the best - stones or snow/soil mix on the lower parts is quite common, nobody cares, no signs, nothing. All slopes aren’t marked at all, we saw 2-3 signs for whole place. Good thing that there is small or no queues at the lifts, but nothing more :( Everywhere stand cars and rude taxi drivers which think that all the area belongs to them :( back to 90ies! When we tried to take our stuff to the car, these taxi drivers started shout on us, one of them even hit twice our car windows, he tried to damage our car on purpose! Never saw nothing similar. Roads are in very poor condition, everywhere huge holes, drivers drive without turn signals. Very low culture all around. In restaurants prices 2-3 times higher than in Tbilisi, quality of food mostly from middle to poor, they add 10-18% service fee everywhere even if service is very poor. Wouldn’t recommend this place at all!
Ernestas Pavarotnikas — Google review
Great snow, good prices. The only downside: they don't clean the slopes everyday like other sites which increase the chances to catch an edge when skiing. Pay attention.

Most of the courses are blue, They are long which is great. It a good ski resort for biggeners and intermiddiate. One of the thing that quite annoying is that they open quite late. They say it will open at 10 but actually they only start the arrangements at that time so you actually start at 11 - 11:30.
The Georgian food is very tasty. And there are good restaurants.
Also recommended the Spa in Gudauri lodge.
Gal Abrass — Google review
Very nice resort, has all the things needed for a ski resort although the pistes were pretty moderate even the red and black ones and they site are not that big. Great for beginners or for those who wants to go for a ski resort one a budget.

Visited in November. There was not much thing to see, skiing-wise. Resort looks huge, so many hotels. Surface mostly soil, not big rocks, which is good for skiing. I would like to see in winter

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Gudauri Ski Resort, and it surpassed all my expectations! From their sublime environment to the stellar service they provide, I can confidently say that Gudauri offers an edge above many other skiing locations.
The skiing experience was indeed, remarkable. Whether you're a beginner like me or a seasoned pro, Gudauri facilitates everyone. The professional and wonderfully patient instructors guided me through all the initial challenges, and before I knew it, I was skiing like I had never done before.
The Quard bike ride added another exciting layer to our adventure! Riding through the breathtaking landscapes was an uncontainably thrilling experience. It was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our trip.
Another distinctive attribute of Gudauri that stood out was its close proximity to dining options. Several fantastic restaurants, offering a wide range of delectable cuisines, line near the resort. The convenience of having quality dining spots so close was a big win for us.
Gudauri Ski Resort is a complete package to have a perfect winter holiday. I wholeheartedly recommend this resort for an unforgettable vacation. Promising a seamless blend of fun, relaxation, and adventure, I'm confident it will exceed your expectations—just like it did mine!
Nandan — Google review
I give points only for the incredibly beautiful nature. Unfortunately, this is where the positives end. The resort has absolutely no pedestrian infrastructure: there are no pedestrian paths, people have to walk on slippery roadways, imagine how “convenient” it is in ski boots. Cars are parked everywhere, as if you had gone for a walk to a huge parking lot in the mountains, and not to a resort. Huge icicles hang from the roofs right above the paths where people walk. As a tourist, you constantly feel uncomfortable and unsafe; there is no desire to go out and take a walk after skiing.
Natalia S — Google review
I had an hour nice skiing with a guide. It was a bit expensive with a guide, priced at 200GEL. But I loved the experience. There are other activities such as snowboarding, snowmobiling etc. Great to see families having fun together with the joyous sounds and screams of kids

The place is covered with snow, the most wonderful experience. Ski and snow games are the most attractive in this resort. For a day skiing costs 50 lari. Restaurants were not cheap and they were rude too. If you want to enjoy it I suggest you guys stay there for a day.

The station is of family size, welcome all types of guest from pro’s to families.
The accommodations are all made in a way that doesn’t disfigured the mountains and landscapes, they come at every price and sizes.
The slopes are brilliants and long, the prices are still great compared to most European stations, and we adored seeing people just using the lifts to go have a view with drinks or snacks up in the mountain, then come back with the lifts again.
The quality of services, presence of police, windshield on some lifts, the large offer in terms of prices and choices of restaurants and coffees, it was all just brilliant !
We had a wonderful, wonderful time here, the quality of the snow is undeniably one of the best.
The launch party was a sweet and memorable touch.
The locals made us feel so welcome and were so kind towards us.

Pros:
Beautiful mountains and views.
The lifts are new and there are not a lot of people.
Minuses:
The organization that manages the slopes is just a bunch of incompetent people.
1. All slopes closed due to low wind. Despite the fact that the lifts were not functioning no one wanted to give money back. The principle is simple all over the world. If you are not able to provide the service you were paid for, you return the money to the customer.
2. No maps on the slopes and no toilets.
3. The Sedzele ski lift is completely out of service - it is closed permanently, yet it is included on the slopes map available on the website. This is misleading people.
4. Throughout Gudauri, the locals act as if they are surprised by winter. The roads are impassable, no one cares about the condition of the sidewalks. People fall over because no one is spreading salt or sand.
5 The general impression is this. They want to take money like in the Alps, and guarantee service like in the Soviet Union.

We spent a week in January 2024. That was a blast! So much fun, amazing weather, a great ski resort, delicious food, and friendly staff. 100% recommend! Will be back next year.
This significant castle complex, boasting two churches and picturesque river views, has witnessed numerous battles throughout its history. To visit Ananuri and the Russia-Georgia Monument en route to the fortress, opting for a taxi at triple the cost of a marshrutka is recommended. Travel time spans approximately 3.5 hours over 153km.
Well maintained and beautiful place. A massive fortress with a panoramic view of mountains and river on the background. A big parking space with refreshment stores and washrooms also available. A must visit place while travelling to Gudauri.

Moderate size castle and beautiful church with amazing frescos.. The view is just spectacular.. you can buy the candle from inside and light if you want. Their is a watch tower behind the church with very narrow & steep steps.. The view from top of the water tower is beautiful, but not very safe to climb with small kids. Decent clothing is must. This fortress is a great place to go for parents with their kids (or without, I went alone being a 29-year-old man)! This place will give one an idea of what it felt like being a soldier serving in a fortress in the medieval times Georgia. The fortress itself looks just awesome and authentic. There's a small cathedral in the middle of the fortification complex and the entire venue will easily keep anyone busy exploring its wall and towers for at least an hour.
There's an adjacent small market selling souvenirs and a parking lot (charge is 3 lari for cars, but will be free if you're coming in the evening hours).

It would be an amazing place to do a little family shoot too, if you stop at the last lookout, just drive a little slow to make sure you have time to stop on the side of the road, there is a road going down to the reservoir, which you can ignore if you want to just go to lookout points, drive past the reservoir entrance and immediately thereafter are two lookout points :) one with even fresh juice ;)

An experience of it's kind, visit to Chateau Mukhrani was the highlight of our visit to Georgia. Our guide made reservations and at the winery, we had private tasting and tour very well hosted by Lucas. It was thrillig to get all the details of wine making, their flavours and their pairing. Situated just 40 mins from Tbilisi, the winery displays the feeling of royalty and since we visited around noon, the place was quite and peaceful. Lucas is a knowledgeable person, young and energetic wheras all other staff were courteous. We tasted four types of wine with different pairings. We purchased a few bottles too, based on suggestions from Lucas.
Highly recommended if you are in Tbilisi or traveling to Kutaisi from Tbilisi - to visit Chateau Mukhrani.

We did a really nice wine tasting and tour here. You need to contact them to arrange tasting/tour but even if you don’t there is a nice restaurant where you can order by the glass/bottle. There was a confusion about where the tour starts for us, I’d advice them to make this clearer for the visitors as we directly went to the restaurant and the estate has many different buildings. The tour itself was nice. It was really cool to see the stainless tank production area. Lastly, my only complaint is about how the only place to purchase wines is the restaurant (which is the furthest away building from the parking lot - you need to carry them back to your car). I don’t understand why it’s not possible to purchase wines directly at the tasting room.

Lovely place. Even in winter the Palace and its premises look lovely. Food in the restaurant is very tasty. Wine tour we took was very good - it was well explained and allowed us to learn a lot.
We noticed that the place can be a bit chaotic and can overbook the tours. Some groups started late due to the lack of staff that could guide them.
But, its really worth visiting, especially if your schedule is flexible and you can tolerate potential delays. The place is lovely and worth sacrificing a couple of hours.

Beautiful place, very informative wine tour and lovely wine tasting. At the moment they are painting the Chateau so no pretty pictures with all the scaffolding around but that should be finished soon. Please make an appointment in advance for the horse riding and the wine tastings. Tour costs 20 lari pp and wine tastings start at 39 lari to 50lari
To buy wine at the estate is definately cheaper than at a restaurant starting at 30lari a bottle.

Beautiful place to rest with family or friends. Nice garden, restaurant with delicious Georgian and European dishes. Possiblity to taste various kind of wine. There are a lot of activities: riding, master class of making bread or churchkhela, painting with wine. Deep in park there is a nice banket hall for various events. Also it is a very nice place for wedding photo session.

Beautiful place, they give you a full wine tour and you can choose on the package on how many wines you would like to taste at the end of the tour. The tour cost is from GEL 35(basic 3 wine tasting) to an elaborate one GEL 80 (9 wine tasting). Overall a good experience. The chateau is simply beautiful.

It's a great place to taste wine and discover Georgian traditions about wine. There are packages to taste wine with a sommelier. There is a beautiful garden to relax in, as well as a restaurant. From Tbilisi, those places are very close. My recommendation ✅
Historic medieval compound & pilgrimage site featuring 2 church buildings & a storied cave.
One if the beautiful monasteries in Georgia. Shape of this monastery is different from other monasteries without dome roof. No transportation except taxi. Fresco and paintings are really impressive. Must visit place when you are in Tbilisi.

This was one of my favorite’s. Out in the middle of no where and still has a lot of original frescoes. SHIO-MGVIME MONASTERY
5th century monastery out in the middle of no where. It was my favorite today. Also had an evil eye in it? The entrance doors are very “Game of Thrones”

Incredible! Not a busy place. We were taken there by a taxi driver, Jvari + 20 GEL. It's worth it! The views along the way are amazing, the monastery complex is an island of peace and silence. The monastery is surrounded by rocks with caves that are visible directly from the territory of the monastery.

Beautiful monastery. If you are driving there yourself make sure of the directions cause google maps gives wrong directions to the monastery. Follow the road signs to the monastery.

This is one my top destinations close to Tbilisi. The monastery is beautiful located in an astonishing nature. The environment is so different from Mtskheta and its just 25 minutes from the city Center. For more information I am adding up some photos of the interior as well as exterior.

The place was filled with so much history.
It is a long drive from Mtskheta.
But being there on top it is breathtaking.
It is peaceful and calm on top.
There is a small shop outside nearby where you can purchase religious items.

Oh wow this place is super unique. I was interested to come to this monastery because it's located in a limestone canyon. When I got there with my friends, I saw that most of the visitors were Georgian, and they came there for religious purposes. Not so many international tourists. A peaceful place.

A great place two dozen kilometers from the popular Mtskheta and Jvari. An ancient monastery surrounded by wooded cliffs. Graves and chapels, silence and peace. Very few tourists. A good place where you can meet the sunset (climbing on a rock nearby). Spend money and ask your driver to take you here.
The Funicular Restaurant is a popular tourist destination located on top of Mtatsminda, the last stop on Tbilisi's funicular railway. The restaurant complex features stylish shops, bars and a ballroom, from which you can enjoy a spectacular view of the city and the surrounding area.
The food was really nice and tastey. We initially booked for an outdoor seating but since they expected rain we couldn't get to sit outside. But the ambience inside was really good. The person who served help us move to a desired table and kept checking on us throughout if we needed anything else. They were very polite and friendly. The must have was their desert. Something to die for. It's a must try.
We used the Funicular to arrive at this restaurant and it's a magnificent view and dint realize it's too high above the city. Recommended for a special occasion or date night.
Vijoy Venu — Google review
The "train" going up to the Funicular is closed during holidays.
Good thing we were in a private tour for this event.
From here, you will have a good vantage point of the city of Tbilisi.

Decent food with a superb view. The overall taste of all the items we had here, as well as their prices are somewhat underwhelming compared to their counterparts found all around the city. However, it is important to note that the view makes up for it in most cases, unless you really are simply looking for the best grub in town. We did enjoy the ponchiki very much though, so definitely add that to your meal as well. It is simple, as simple as it looks on photos, but definitely tasty, a true example to "less is more."

We took funicular to go to the restaurant, the experience was amazing. The restaurant was a bit busy but the staff managed everything. The food was superb! Especially the salad & Khachapuri (the warm boat-shaped, filled with a cheese-stuffed crust and egg baked into the center) 🍳 Extremely yummy

A beautiful restaurant with superb panoramic views of Tbilisi, lovely environment and attentive service. It is a great option for families, friends and even business lunches or dinners. Food is nice, however, a little overpriced, everything has a nice presentation.
Especially recommend Adjarian khachapuri and Lagidze Water (legendary soft drinks of Georgia).

Very nice coffee, like a bistro. You definitely need to try Ponchiki which is a larger sweet donut, filled with pudding creme, a local specialty. Have Georgian tee with it.

Corn bread was made a month ago, it’s hard like a rock and cold. The service was slow, even tho it’s empty.
The view is amazing tho.
The mushroom with cheese is pretty good.

Definitely worthwhile to stay for a while at cafe funicular, and at least to have their khachapuri, for me it was one of the most delicious I've ever had!
And the view from there is awesome as well, the variety of deserts will also surprise.
💯 For khachapuri, just perfect 💚

What comes to food, compare this to an amusement park, not to a fine dining restaurant. Wine tasted like the cheapest boxed bulk wine, edibles were okay. Nothing wrong with the bottled water they served. Salad had some slightly mushy parts.
Amazing views, but you don’t need to go inside the restaurant to see them.
You will find much better food and service for 70% of the price if you go somewhere small and local.
Felix Bade — Google review
I ordered Old Fashioned and I’m sorry to report it wasn’t up to the mark. The berry lemonade was average tasting according to my co-diner. I wanted to check their bar but faced resistance from bouncers for unknown reasons but one of them obliged and wanted to chaperone but anyway. This rating is for the service and the one-of-a-kind panoramic view of Tbilisi from the restaurant’s terrace outshines and eclipses the average food experience of the restaurant itself. Must-visit place and restaurant, and to each his own. Prices are very reasonable. Funicular round trip GEL 20 per person and GEL 2 for the card; vantage points PRICELESS!

If you're looking for a great time, I'd definitely recommend heading over to this place around sunset, which usually happens around 7:40 PM. Trust me, the view alone is worth it.
Now, let's talk about the desserts. You absolutely cannot leave without trying their heavenly honey cake and Ponchiki (Georgian donuts). Seriously, they're to die for. I guarantee you'll be left wanting more.
As for the food, we ordered the veal, kebab sandwich, and pork BBQ, and boy, they did not disappoint. The flavors were on point.
The only downside? We wished the portions were a bit more generous. We could have easily devoured more of those tasty dishes.

Well, I really liked this place so I went three times during my stay in Tbilisi for dinner.
The view, food, drinks, the service was top notch. Only thing during my list some food tasted different than previous two visits and I assume there was a different cook in the kitchen.
We had also live music performance during my last visit, and the restaurant was quite empty. It felt like I had a private concert with delicious food.

6 Khinkali for 19 lari?! Is it a joke? 4 years ago it was an amazing place with great and tasty food, I would often go there with my family and this time when we visited everything was changes the menu and the food was terrible. Khinkali had too much herbs in it and the Kababi was so dry and awful i have no words! Very disappointed I hope they change it again to normal so people can go and enjoy tasty food with normal prices and not pay a price of a Kidney!
Dzveli Tbilisi, or Old Tbilisi, is a large area known for its snaking lanes, traditional Tbilisi houses, and restaurant-lined Jan Shardeni Street. The hilltop Narikala Fortress and giant Mother of Georgia statue overlook the National Botanical Garden and the stone-domed Sulfur Baths. Nearby, the Georgian National Museum traces the country’s history, while Mtatsminda Park is an amusement park accessible by funicular.
The Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi is a stunning religious complex with an impressive Georgian Orthodox cathedral, bell tower, monastery & seminary. The church was built in 2004 and is a recent development in Georgian Christianity. The foundation of the church was made with rocks taken from the Jordan River and Sion mountain, as well as soil from the Mt. Hermon area. The cathedral features beautiful stained glass windows and has become a popular tourist destination due to its after-dark images.
Very beautiful place. Clean, quiet, big territory. You can walk freely outside or sit for rest. Inside also a lot of site and you can't even feel if many people. High ceiling. For Orthodox Cristian people this is place really famous and valuable. Georgian pride, glory.

A Canadian Tourist Review: It is the most beautiful attraction in all of Tbilisi! There will be two women begging for donations outside, but you can donate at donation boxes inside. It is very well lit at night, and it has a large exterior but a relatively small interior. The grounds around it are beautiful too.
Oh, and free entry! Highly recommend!

I have been told this is the biggest Cathedral in Tbilisi, and I must say it looks absolutely stunning, especially at night.
My recommendation? If you want good pictures of the Cathedral itself, GO AT NIGHT (after 10pm, on a weekend)! However, at this time the inside of the Cathedral will be locked, and you will not be able to enter. Not only goes it look spectacular, but its super peaceful. Its free to enter as well (at least at this time).
Must see if you are in Georgia, as there is a lot of history in this Cathedral.

You simply can't miss this massive cathedral as it dominates Tbilisi skyline. Its listed as one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world. As you admire the impressive stone structure it looks modern as it was only completed after 9 yrs in 2004.
Traditional Georgian architectural details still abound with its archways and central dome which is Georgian. I had the pleasure to be present during Sunday mass to see the devotees in worship and the Georgian chant was very uplifting.
I loved this church so much, I came back at sunset to see it lit up in all its glory.
The entire complex is massive. Pics on the inside not allowed and there is a small gift shop at the front.

The Holy Trinity Cathedral in Tbilisi is a breathtaking testament to architectural beauty and spiritual significance. Its design is not only beautiful but also uniquely captivating, especially when the golden-plated rooftop catches the sunlight, creating a mesmerizing spectacle.
Surrounding the cathedral are lush olive and grape trees, enhancing the serene atmosphere of the complex. A picturesque fountain adds to the tranquility, making it a perfect spot for contemplation and reflection.
While the exterior is a sight to behold, the interior is equally impressive. However, it's important to note that photography is not allowed inside the cathedral, respecting its sacredness and the privacy of worshippers.
Inside the complex, there are numerous chapels, each with its own distinct charm and purpose, adding depth to the spiritual experience.
Overall, the Holy Trinity Cathedral is not just a place of worship but also a symbol of beauty, tranquility, and reverence. A must-visit for anyone seeking to immerse themselves in the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Tbilisi.

Want to avoid the stairs? Just walk along the side of the stairs. I looped go the right of the stairs walking past roses, lavender, grapes and then eventually a pink stone chapel and then I was on level with the church. It was a much more peaceful and shaded way to see the church and it made me notice more pieces like the patterns on the back of the church, and there’s a grape patch behind the church. A happy way for strollers and wheelchairs to go!

There was a merit ceremony when we were getting inside the church. The smell from candles and incense was quite strong. It would be better if the weather is fine, however it’s worth to visit. The Bridge of Peace is a pedestrian bridge featured in the city of Tbilisi, Georgia. The arching steel and glass design is captivating and catches the eye even from a distance, while the LED lights illuminate evenings with pulsating Morse code messages informing passersby about the elemental composition of human anatomy. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Tbilisi and locals nickname it the Always Ultra Bridge.
The peace bridge is a bridge crossing the Kura and is next to the casino and next to a huge park in which you can take a balloon ride. Nearby is also a gondola (cable car) which you can use to ride into the mountain. The bridge was opened on the 6th of May 2010 and is 150m long.
The bridge has a unique glass construction as a roof which lights up at night. On the bridge there are many artists and also you can be lucky seeing dudes with a peacock which is amazing but they want 20 Lari for a picture with them (they let me hold it for free which was nice!!)
I enjoyed being there a lot and having a great experience crossing. It's very popular and part of the city attractions. And it's one which I can recommend using instead of the other bridge possibilities.

The structure of the bridge is honestly awesome. It’s made of glass and is twisty at the ends and simple yet detailed. I noticed that when I was at a higher level looking down at the bridge, that whenever someone walked on it it looked like they were walking on the water instead.

We've visited a few times, opting to take a Bolt from our hotel and finishing the journey on foot—a decision we've never regretted. The structural design of the bridge is nothing short of amazing. But it's at night that the bridge truly comes alive. Illuminated by an array of lights, it provides a breath-taking view that complements the city's own nocturnal glow. Aerial tramway in Tbilisi offers a spectacular view of the Kura River with the Bridge of Peace spanning it. Operated by Tbilisi Cable Car, the tramway is popular with tourists for its views and is fun for people of all ages.
The ticket is not expensive at all. I don't have metro card, but I'm able to buy a card from the cashier. The cable car give a nice view of the city and the old town. It doesn't move to fast or too slow, which is great. One thing i don't like is that there is no officer here, so when the cable car arrive, you have to know timing, get in and get out by yourself.

Really nice short ride to the top to visit Mother of Georgia and the Fortress, plus you can walk down the stairs to the botanical gardens. It’s a few seconds ride up to the top. 6 people max per car and you can buy tickets/card to ride at the entrance.
Nailah Aljasmi — Google review
The cable car experience in Tbilisi was fantastic! For just 5 GEL per person, you can enjoy a round trip that takes you up near the iconic Mother of Georgia statue. The view of Tbilisi City from the top is absolutely breathtaking, earning a round of applause!
While there, be sure to treat yourself to a delicious Chimney cake and browse through the variety of souvenirs available. It's a great way to cherish the memories of your visit.
To make the most of your experience, I recommend visiting before 10 am to avoid the crowds. Additionally, parking space is conveniently available right below the station for a fee of 3 GEL.
Overall, the cable car ride offers not only convenience but also a memorable journey with stunning views. Don't miss out on this must-try experience during your time in Tbilisi!

A ropeway that takes you to Rike Park on the east bank of the Mtkwari River and Narikala Fort, which is about 450m above sea level, up a steep slope from the west bank.
Not only is the view from the ropeway good, but by climbing up the ropeway and walking down, you can see where you are walking in the old town looking down on it from above, making it easier to get a feel for the area if you ride it at the beginning of your walk around the old town.
The price is ₾2.5. You have to charge your Metro Card, which can be shared on buses, marshrutkas, and subways, but you only pay the initial fare when you board any transportation system, so you don't need to buy multiple cards for each person, and you can use one card for multiple people.
I've ridden it many times, but the other day I was petting a tame stray dog in front of the ticket office.
He followed me past the ticket gate, and eventually got into the cabin on his own without even hearing from the staff.
There is no doubt that he habitually travels between Rike Park and Narikala Fort by riding the ropeway for free.
A friendly stray dog that followed Mother of Georgia even after arriving at Narikala Fort. This is the Tbilisi dog experience.

Relatively cheap ticket, trip should be about 5-10 minutes with nice aerial views of old Tbilisi. Take you to the hills.

Must do while in Tbilisi, beautiful view of the city, safe and costs 2.5 GEL per trip.
When you’re down, roam around the park for free, it is beautiful with fresh air.
When you’re up, you’ll get to explore artistic scenes, mother of Georgia and nature beauty scenery.

A Breathtaking Journey with Tbilisi Aerial Tramway!
The Tbilisi Aerial Tramway is an absolute gem in this enchanting city! To embark on this adventure, head to the Rike Park station, located near the stunning Peace Bridge. From there, you'll be treated to an awe-inspiring ride that takes you across the Kura River to Narikala Fortress.
As you soar above the city, the views are nothing short of spectacular. You'll have a bird's-eye view of the historic Old Town, the modern architecture, and the lush greenery surrounding the fortress. It's a photographer's dream!

Ticket is 2.5 GEL each way (if you have a metro card). Don't miss the great views of Tbilisi from above.
Timelapse Geek — Google review
We took it at night then again during the day.
The views are really nice, you get to see the entire city. It takes you up to the fortress, botanical garden, and mother of Georgia statue.
It costs 2.5 GEL per ride per person; 5 GEL for a roundtrip. They also charge you 2 GEL for the card unless you already have one. Multiple people can use the same card. I would recommend you get the round-trip ticket to avoid waiting twice in line.
It's approximately a 3-4 minute ride to get to the top.
I would recommend you experience it at night as it was more beautiful and waay less crowded.
I'm giving it 4 stars because there's no organization, and they don't separate the lines between those who have tickets and those who want to purchase ones, so it tends to get a bit messy.
In general, this is a nice activity to do if you're in town.

This is just a magnificent cable car way to the unique and beautiful old city of Tbilisi. Under the road, incredible views open up over the Mtkvari river and over this breathtaking old city. Climbing up, you will find magnificent panoramic views of the Tbilisi and you can also visit the Botanical Garden, the entrance to which is paid.

Quick way to get to the fortress and botanical garden. Yet it’s good to know that travel card doesn’t work here which is surprising for me, because it’s said on it, that it works with cable cars.
The Fortress of Narikala is a 4th century fortress that offers breathtaking views of the cityscape below. The trail leading up to the fortress takes visitors past restored churches and other historic remnants.
Amazing paths, views and lots to climb and discover all around the fortress ruins.
You can go up and down easily with the cable cart.
The views from the top are really impressive.
Zara.z — Google review
The ruins are absolutely stunning - it’s simply breathtaking to walk around the remains of towers and walls. What’s even more breathtaking is the view - Tbilisi is a beautiful city, and you really get to see that from Nariqala. For anyone in Tbilisi, I strongly recommend a visit at this place

You can freely roam around and climb the walls, which means some spots need extra caution. If you're feeling adventurous, then it's definitely worth exploring.

Great castle ruins with lots of little unexpected corners to explore. Normally you can continue the walk to the mother of Georgia statue but currently (April 2024) it is unfortunately closed. Also cable car up there doesn't run at the moment. Night time view very cool too...there is wine ice cream to try on the way up and you could have a great castle top picnic with amazing views there too (bring Georgina wine). Best of all the entry is free of charge. Definite must see when in Tbilisi

Great experience to climb up the steep heights. View at the top was amazing.
Good to be in sports or tracking type attire. Not well lit at certain places.
Need to be careful of old broken walls and some thorny bushes.

A must-visit when in Tbilisi. You can take a cable car, but
walking up is so much better as you get to see
the view and church from all angles. There are
also good spots for pictures on the way. The
view of the sunset from up there is amazing.

We took the cable car to the fortress in the late afternoon and experienced beautiful views from up there. It’s free of charge but also a little under developed for tourism purposes, meaning the walls are not protected by guard rails so be careful if traveling with little kids.

Very impressive fortress with amazing views all over Tbilisi. Easily accessible by cable car. Free to visit but I recommend to go in the morning to avoid crowds. From there you can access both Mother of Georgia and botanical gardens.

Superb place to visit. Excellent location and Georgian architecture. Ancient buildings and outside so many traditional shops are selling Georgian items. We bought a few. Traditional buildings and houses are so good and colorful. The location is good and there is a very large area. Tall buildings constructed by big stones and mud. The church inside was so good and peaceful. We need more than one hour to look around this place. The view point is so good. 40 min drive from Tbilisi.

Narikala Fortress can be accessed by car, cable car or by foot. There are steps and paths leading to the Fortress. You can see the Mother of Georgia statue and botanical garden. The waterfall was closed when I visited. Nothing much to do. Good view of the city and the short ride of the cable car.
Julia Stone — Google review
Such a fun and magical place ! A beautiful fortress on a large hill that you can walk around and climb different areas. The views of the city are wonderful. You can explore the entire fortress. There is a lovely church, shops and souvenirs. You can hike back down, take a cable car or the more adventurous can zip line down and land in the nearby Botanical Gardens.
Stacey O'Neil — Google review
Probably one of the most beautiful places in Tbilisi. After wandering the streets leading up to it, it offers a dramatic view of the city. What I really liked (though kinda dangerous) is that you can roam freely inside amd on the walls by day and by night. I rrally loved how one can linger as long as they want and just enjoy the view or take great pics. The site is accessible by cable car as well, but I think going on foot adds to its charm if you are a hiker.
Andreass B. — Google review
Amazing views from the top, lots of places to climb up and over. We walked up from the town side, and decided to take the cable car down for 2.5 GEL p/p. Was not too crowded, good walking shoes recommended. Free access.

Narikala Fortress is truly a historical marvel offering panoramic views of Tbilisi. This ancient stronghold not only provides stunning vistas of the city but also serves as a testament to Georgia's rich past.
Dating back to the 4th century, Narikala Fortress has withstood the test of time and witnessed countless events throughout history. As you wander through its ancient walls, you can feel the weight of centuries of stories and battles.
The fortress is easily accessible by cable car, providing a convenient and scenic journey. While entry is free, it's advisable to visit in the morning to avoid the crowds and fully immerse yourself in the ambiance of this remarkable site.
From Narikala, you can explore further and visit the iconic Mother of Georgia statue, a symbol of Georgian hospitality and strength, as well as the peaceful botanical gardens, adding even more depth to your experience.
Whether you're a history enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply seeking breathtaking views, Narikala Fortress is a must-visit destination in Tbilisi. Don't miss the chance to explore this ancient wonder and soak in the beauty of Georgia's capital from above.
Shabeer Hydrod — Google review
Fortress looks impressive from the city (especially at night, with the lights) but when you come on the hill it appears, that those are mostly walls and ruins. There is a church inside, but it’s not very different from others. There are of course nice views on the city from here. Walking on the walls could be entartaining (But it’s good to know, that they are not well prepared for visitors. For me that was no problem, but there are no safety measures, sometimes you have to even climb to go further, so that could be dangerous and problematic for people with limited movement skills - I can’t imagine it in the late evening, when aerial tramway is still working). It’s good to see fortress if you’re already on the hill, but I recommend more visiting Botanical Garden which is right next to it.
Mateusz Kostrzewski — Google review
Very impressive fortress area with quite a few things to explore such as, the Mother of Georgia, the recently restored St. Nicholas church, a waterfall, a botanical garden, and more. You can occasionally see a couple dogs and maybe 1 or 2 cats too. I’d recommend to go in the mornings or winter time to avoid other tourists as much as possible. Also make sure to wear comfortable shoes.
Definitely come here if you want to quite a good chunk of the city and at night it looks extra spectacular. You can get up to the mountain by the cable car or walk up stairs or uphill from 2 sides. 1 side is right next to the Mother of Georgia. The other side comes up next to the St. Nicholas church.
Also know that when going to Narikala and the area, it is walkable and all but there are still ruins and if you’re not careful you could trip or injure yourself.

**Exploring Narikella Fortress: A Glimpse into Tbilisi's Rich History**
Nestled atop a rocky promontory overlooking the bustling cityscape of Tbilisi, Narikella Fortress stands as a silent sentinel, guarding the secrets of Georgia's storied past. Visiting this ancient stronghold is akin to embarking on a journey through time, where each weathered stone whispers tales of conquests, sieges, and cultural exchanges.
Upon approaching the fortress, visitors are immediately struck by its imposing silhouette against the backdrop of the Caucasus Mountains. The winding path leading to the entrance is lined with vendors selling traditional Georgian handicrafts, providing a tantalizing preview of the vibrant culture awaiting within.
As one steps through the weathered gates, the atmosphere shifts, transporting visitors into a bygone era. The expansive courtyard, once a bustling hub of activity, now echoes with the footsteps of curious explorers. Here, amidst the remnants of ancient structures and crumbling walls, one can't help but feel a profound sense of awe at the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity.
Ascending the worn stone steps, visitors are treated to panoramic views of Tbilisi's sprawling metropolis below. The juxtaposition of old and new is striking, highlighting the city's evolution over centuries of tumultuous history. From this vantage point, it's easy to imagine the strategic importance of Narikella Fortress, commanding not only the city but also the trade routes that crisscrossed the region.
Exploring the labyrinthine passages and chambers within the fortress is like unraveling a mystery, with each discovery offering new insights into Georgia's past. From the remnants of ancient weaponry to intricate frescoes adorning the walls, every corner holds a piece of the puzzle waiting to be unearthed.
One of the most poignant moments of the visit is standing atop the fortress walls at sunset, as the golden hues of the evening sky cast a warm glow over the landscape. In that fleeting moment, it's possible to glimpse the timeless beauty of Georgia, a land shaped by centuries of triumphs and tribulations.
However, it's essential to acknowledge that Narikella Fortress, like many historical sites, bears the scars of time. While efforts have been made to preserve and restore the fortress, there are areas where the ravages of nature and neglect are evident. Nevertheless, these imperfections only serve to enhance the authenticity of the experience, reminding visitors of the passage of time and the fragility of human endeavor.
In conclusion, a visit to Narikella Fortress is a must for anyone seeking to delve into the rich tapestry of Georgia's history. From its commanding views to its enigmatic ruins, the fortress offers a captivating glimpse into the past that is sure to leave a lasting impression on all who venture within its ancient walls.

If you want to take in all of Tbilisi at a glance, go up to this place. You won’t regret it.
You can see the entirety from any spot, and it’s quite fantastic, but if you go up to where the cross is, you will feel the greatest joy.
Go up, take it all in with your eyes, and take photos.

It's one of worth visiting sites from Georgia's and especially Tbilisi's sightseeings. It's easy to get the on foot. After visiting church that is really beautiful, We climbed up to hills and had panoramic view of Tbilisi's old town. Note to be careful while hiking those hills, because there is no way between hills amd one has to climb literally on rocks. But still I enjoyed that.

One of my favourite spots in the city :)
A lovely, busy and bustle square in the heart of Gyumri. You can easily find yourself a comfortable seat at some cafes which are just right round the corners.

The large central town square in Gyumri, Armenia. It is bordered by the Abovyan street from the west, Gai street from the north, Shahumyan street from the east and Vahan Cheraz street from the south. It has a rectangular shape (280 by 140 meters).
The square was known as the May Uprising Square, named after the failed Bolshevik uprising against the Dashnak government of the First Republic of Armenia in May 1920. The square was opened during the 1930s under the Soviet rule, based on the original plan of Alexander Tamanian and the revised plan of D. Chislian.

The memorial dedicated to Artyom Mikoyan, born in Sanahin village, just minutes away from the Sanahin monastery. Together with Mikhail Gurevich, they co-founded the Russian MiG fighter jet. Eric Sellekaerts — Google review
We had a great tour by a local girl that guided us through the life of the two brothers
Bas de Vries — Google review
The museum is focused on the Armenian Mikoyan brothers (a soviet leader and an aerospace engineer). Their history is a means to go through the soviet time, including dark times and bright spots. The feelings of Armenians in these times are not neglected. The museum is not too big, but is well done. The real plus is the storytelling by the local staff. Highly recommended.
The Haghpat Monastery Complex is a fine specimen of medieval Armenian architectural style, built in the tenth century. It offers a breathtaking panoramic view and comprises multiple buildings such as a church and bell tower. The Sanahin Monastery nearby is also worth visiting as it shares similarity with Haghpat. Unfortunately, both churches are now empty landmarks rather than functional monasteries.
Without exaggeration one of the most beautiful religious places I have visited. Relatively few tourists, the monastery looks ancient and deserted. I felt like I was in a Tomb Raider or Indiana Jones movie. You can get the best photo of the whole complex if you climb the wall at the back of the grounds.

Beautiful monastry with a large stone-carved christian cross under UNESCO protection
As mentioned by other reviewers, it is recommended if you travel with a knowledgeable local guide who could provide a proper introduction and historical facts. Else this would seem like another monastry (which there are plenty in this region...and on the surface they all look similar).

All slopes are via chairlift with full day, half day and single tickets available. Definitely worth a trip if you are in Yerevan and fancy some snow sports as it's only about an hours drive.

A great skiing spot 🎿 though we visited the place when there was no snow.
We were able to enjoy the ropeway and enjoyed the breathtaking views from the ropeway and cannot wait to go back again when this is covered in snow.
Just the experience of the ropeway and the views from up top is worth the trip.
Will recommend!!

A very wonderful place, the weather at the top was cold, but he found tourist services at the top of the cable car. It is possible to take advantage of the place better. Worth a visit.

It is a must-visit if you're in Armenia. For a small entry fee of around 3000 AMD (that's around 8 USD), you get to ride this cable car up the mountainside. The view from up there is something you just have to see for yourself - it's absolutely amazing! I highly recommend taking this trip. It's an experience you won't want to miss!

Beautiful View. Must carry gloves as it is very cold during the winter season. Must visit if you are visiting Armenia during winters to enjoy the beauty around it.

I had the pleasure of visiting Tsakadsor with my family during our tour of Armenia on August 7th, 2023. Despite it being summer, Tsakadsor offered us a refreshing break from the heat with its cool and pleasant weather.
One of the highlights of our visit was the exhilarating cable car ride that took us to the summit. As we ascended, we were treated to breathtaking views of the lush green forests and vibrant wildflowers below. It felt like a journey into a picturesque wonderland.
While Tsakadsor is renowned for its winter activities, such as skiing, the summer experience was equally enchanting. We spent quality time at the hilltop, basking in the serene beauty that surrounded us. The scenery became even more captivating as we descended back to the bottom station, with every turn revealing new vistas.
I highly recommend Tsakadsor as a must-visit destination, especially if you find yourself in Armenia during the summer. It's an incredible place to escape the heat, enjoy a cable car adventure, and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of this remarkable region. We'll cherish the memories of our Tsakadsor visit for years to come.

There is zero safety in this ropeway so people having children or pets they have to take care alot

Entry fee is 3000amd

First of all after taking tickets you are welcomed by a rude customer executive who says “hurry up and stand in blue line fast”. Then they don’t give any safety instructions. After going a few meters we found that the bar can be pulled for further safety and to keep your legs. But the views were amazing. On top there are activities like buggy ride etc for cash payment. For card they charge commission of 1000 amd but the service was good. Overall good experience in snow

Three pretty churches that make up the monastery, but little around them. The inside of the smaller ones have little to see, but the bigger one is quite impressive.
