(Translated by Google) Unbelievable impressions, positive energy of the place. For lovers of history and literature, this is a place of strength. It will also be interesting for children and teenagers of school age. This is a manor museum. We could not get into the houses themselves, because they were undergoing restoration, but it was no less interesting and educational for me. Many interesting exhibits can be seen in the museum, manuscripts, photos, etc. 100% recommendation

It is nicely complemented by a trip to the Nechimne tract, where there is also a small museum and where Lesya Ukrainka was inspired to create the Forest Song. There is a park near the estate. As of August 2023, two small houses have been closed and part of the authentic exhibits have been evacuated after the start of the great war and are in a "safe place". Nevertheless, the place is worth paying attention to. Must be accompanied by a tour guide

(Translated by Google) Ancient monastery. Holy land.
Here we met some nuns. One young, beautiful nun girl was named Natalya. According to her, she is from Donetsk. She came to the monastery after the start of hostilities.
All the nuns we spoke with were very friendly.
No one expressed any restrictions on taking pictures.
Also, the eldest of the nuns allowed photo-engraving of the monastery's Shrine - the MIRACULOUS WINTER ICON OF THE MOTHER OF GOD. From a distance of 20 - 30 cm. I have a photo of the Holy Monastery better than the one on Wikipedia.
Only none of the nuns allowed themselves to be photographed.
That was the only limitation.
History of the monastery from a photo taken in the monastery.
The first written mention of the Zimnensky Sviatohirsky Assumption Monastery dates back to the end of the 11th century. ("in the Tale of the Temporary Years" by Nestor the Chronicler). According to legend, it was founded by Prince Volodymyr the Great of Kyiv.
In 1495, during the reign of Lutsk Prince Fyodor Czartoryisky, the Assumption Cathedral was built on the site of the wooden church erected by Volodymyr. At the same time, fortress walls with towers appeared.
Since 1682, the monastery was owned by the Uniates.
In 1724, Zimno was purchased by the Volyn mayor Mykhailo Chatsky, who ordered the Assumption Church to be turned into a church, rebuilding it into a two-domed one.
After the reconstruction in 1898-1900, the monastery was restored as an Orthodox nunnery - existing until 1946.
It became an active monastery already during the years of Ukraine's independence.
In 1991, the first nuns from the Koret Monastery arrived.

(Translated by Google) Parish of St. Jan Nepomucena in Dorohusk was founded in 1753. However, for the first time in a long time, there is a real parish priest (host) - at least it seems so. The last priest the organizer who had any real influence on the shape of the current parish was the then vicar, Fr. Krzysztof Krakowiak. The organization of "Youth Days" in such a small town was undoubtedly a big event, especially since it was attended by guests from different countries. I remember it made a very big impression on me. Especially since it was the first time I saw the involvement of so many people in organizing such a holiday. I think that the current parish priest is expected to take actions aimed at restoring the parish's property.

Adjacent to the main hall, where, according to Jewish tradition, men prayed, are two smaller, so-called grandmothers. During World War II, the Germans devastated the synagogue and turned it into a stable.
As a result of the renovation works, the synagogue regained its former, impressive appearance and is now open to the public
From the west, the synagogue is adjacent to the former house of the kahal, i.e. the Jewish community. On the other hand, in a tenement house at ul. Zamenhofa 5, in the basement, there was a mikvah - a ritual Jewish bathhouse.

Synagoga ta była centrum dzielnicy żydowskiej. Powstała w 1610 roku w miejscu wcześniejszej drewnianej. Do głównej sali, w której zgodnie z żydowską tradycją modlili się mężczyźni, przylegają dwie mniejsze, tzw. babińce. W czasie II wojny światowej Niemcy zdewastowali synagogę i urządzili w niej stajnię.

Large landmark city square from the 1500s, flanked by arcaded buildings housing shops & cafes.
When I think of a perfect historic square, I think of Zamość.
Featuring beautiful pastel colours unlike anything else in the country, amazing restaurants, museums, and various shops and stalls with plenty of memorabilia and gifts of your holiday!
Zamość square just feels alive, regardless of if it's midday or the late evening. It's a beautiful gem in the South-East of Poland which would be a great visit!

The city was built in late 16th century by Jan Zamoyski in accordance with Renaissance philosophy of the ideal town. It's quite remarkable and good to walk through. I'm glad I've seen it during Christmas with the ice rink and Christmas tree. You need to pay attention to all the buildings, they all have something special

Archetypal historic square at the heart of Zamosc. The spirit of the Renaissance invades the visitor that can feel that little changed since 1580. The sumptuous clock tower of the Townhall wardens this atemporal space and timidly tells the visitor about the stories he witnessed.

Old City Zamosc in Poland is a true gem that takes you back in time. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a beautifully preserved Renaissance town that exudes charm and history at every corner.
The main square, known as the Rynek, is the heart of the city and is surrounded by stunning buildings with intricate facades. The Town Hall, with its impressive tower, stands tall and proud, while the arcades and colorful houses add a vibrant touch to the square.
Walking through the narrow cobblestone streets of Old City Zamosc is like stepping into a fairy tale. The architecture is simply breathtaking, with ornate details and elegant balconies. The city walls, complete with bastions and gates, provide a sense of security and add to the medieval atmosphere.
One of the highlights of Zamosc is the Zamosc Cathedral, a magnificent church with a rich history. Its interior is adorned with beautiful frescoes and intricate woodwork, creating a serene and spiritual atmosphere.
The Zamosc Synagogue is another must-visit attraction. This historic synagogue, dating back to the 17th century, is a testament to the city's multicultural past. Its architecture is a blend of Renaissance and Baroque styles, and it now serves as a museum that showcases the history of the Jewish community in Zamosc.
In addition to its architectural wonders, Zamosc also offers a vibrant cultural scene. The city hosts numerous festivals and events throughout the year, including the Zamosc Culture Days and the Zamosc Film Festival. These events showcase the city's rich cultural heritage and provide a platform for artists and performers to showcase their talents.
Overall, Old City Zamosc in Poland is a hidden gem that deserves more recognition. Its well-preserved architecture, rich history, and vibrant cultural scene make it a must-visit destination for anyone interested in exploring the beauty and charm of Poland.

The entire old town of Zamość is almost perfectly preserved and stunning. It has the exact same layout as it did when constructed in late 1500s. And a fascinating history too. Built by a nobleman Jan Zamoyski as his private, heavily fortified town that welcomed religious minorities (hence the Armenian tenement houses - now housing a museum - and four different temples, including a synagogue). The very street layout reflects its military purpose: all streets intersect at right angles to facilitate the transport of heavy machinery. It withstood two sieges lain by the Cossacks and the Swedes in the 17th century. In 1772, it became part of the Austrian partition and when Napoleon came to this part of Europe and created the Dutchy of Warsaw, it was the Polish military that managed to take the city from the Austrian over the course of one night! After Napoleon fell, Zamość became part of the Russia-controlled kingdom of Poland. The same military engineers who had been modernizing the town under Napoleon stayed in the city and finished their job. It became heavily militarized in 1820s. In the November Uprising of 1930-1931 Zamość held out the longest, even after Warsaw capitulated. The end of the military lusture of the town came in 1860s with the dawn of new projectile technology. If you are a military history enthusiast, it's a fascinating thing to see. A couple hundred meters away, you can find a tour of the fortifications and a remaining bastion. There are many tours available in the Great Market area, but I only encountered Polish guides. That's why I thought a short translation might come in handy here.

Quite an impressive city hall. You can go up the stairs to take a better look at the Market Square which is rather colorful and cute and full of cafes. There is a tourist info center on the side of the building that will give you a lot of interesting info. You can also hear the musician playing from the upper part of the building at certain hours. The town itself is very nice and truly worth visiting. By the way, there are a lot of events organized at the Market Square

I was there twice during my stay in Zamosc, once alone because I was the only one hungry, the rest ate earlier in the pierogi shop, which I didn't like, and I ate salmon soup and pork chop with fries and salads, I left feeling as full as a meal and everything was fresh and delicious in a few days. again we were wondering what to eat and where, so I took my family to this particular restaurant, everyone left full, we didn't spend a fortune, it was delicious and nice, again I ate salmon soup, I really recommend it, it was a finger licking sensation, and the kids had chicken soup, spaghetti and pancakes, and my wife and everyone had dumplings with groats. satisfied and everyone liked it. If we are ever in Zamość again, we will definitely come for dinner. Greetings ladies from Old Town Cafe

(Translated by Google) A simple purchase of a few jars of honey due to a small typo in the address (on my part) caused a lot of confusion when I was pressed for time and there could be no delay in delivery. Everything indicated that the delivery would not arrive on time, ruining my plans for the purchased honey.
However, it turned out that Good Human Will and Understanding can do much and even more.
The seller personally made sure that the parcel, in which the address had been entered incorrectly (due to my fault!), was addressed correctly so that the parcel could reach the right place on time. This is what happened and 17 hours after ordering, I was the happy owner of honey.
Additionally, the Seller personally informed me about the progress in settling the matter with the courier company. Everything in a pleasant and calm atmosphere of understanding, without impatience and nervous rush.
When I bought a few jars of honey, I felt like a premium customer without unnecessary pomp. And I think this is how things should be handled.
The care, concern and commitment of the Seller should be an example to follow in other areas of life and relationships between people and the world would be better.
It's hard to believe that it's just a honey shop and not a Pozytcyjna Biuro Za Zalaniania…
thank you once again

Sprzedawca osobiście dopilnował, aby paczka, w której wcześniej został mylnie wprowadzony adres (z mojej winy!), została poprawnie zaadresowana, by paczka mogła dotrzeć na czas w odpowiednie miejsce.
Wszystko w miłej i spokojnej atmosferze zrozumienia bez zniecierpliwienia i nerwowego pośpiechu.

The State Museum of Majdanek is a memorial museum located on the site of a WWII concentration camp. It houses buildings, photographs, and personal effects from that era. The exhibits are available in English as well and offer an educational experience about the atrocities committed during that time. It takes around four hours to visit the entire museum, so it's best to plan for a sunny day as it can get cold and windy in winters.
What an experience the place is really well conserved and it gives you chills while you there definetly worth visiting

A sad place but a fundamental visit to understand more about this dark moment of our history. The museum is very well preserved and organized. The entrance is free but I would recommend to buy something from the bookstore, to contribute with the conservation. If possible, go on a weekday by morning, it opens 9am and the visit will be not crowded, so you can explore everything in your pace.

How do you rate five star such a place? It was good to learn about the history that I've found difficult to understand or stomach. It was enlightening walking the grounds, reading quotes from people who experienced such inhuman atrocities. I couldn't help but reflect with current experiences in today's world. The visit was and is still thought-provoking. It is a good thing this history has not been hidden. Perhaps that will help us shape our world differently when we can understand what human beings are capable of.

This is a eye watering place to visit due to the horrendous reasons behind it being there.
We entered through the main gate and into the reception, we were then shown on a map whats what and how far it it’s to walk round it , I believe it was 4.6km .
Hard to imagine just how hard it must have been but the whole place gives you somewhat of a view into the conditions .
The stories you read on the wall again make your heart miss a beat , very very sad place to visit but a must if history and a real look into it is on your to do list.

Very moving place to visit. Nevertheless the place is well looked after and clean, in the customer centre, reading materials can be purchased in many languages, there's also loads of parking which is very cheap. Everything is displayed where it need to be and sometimes in multiple languages. I've managed to attach myself to a tour, and the guide explained everything in detail, took us about 3hrs. The middle museum holds artefacts found on the grounds, as well as letters, documents, furniture, equipment, and statues made by prisoners. The remembererance monument is one of the biggest I've seen and really makes an impact. At the end crematorium, human ashes pile and executions trenches can also be visited. Definitely worth a visit so that one human can know what another is capable of...

It is worth a visit. You will be very close to concentration camp life.
It is enough to walk without guide. It is free entry. You may park your car inside for 10 zl, which is worth as well. Otherwise you have to walk 15-20 mins by walk.
It is a different experience than Auschwitz. It has less people and a lot of information on the posters.

Situated in the center of Lublin, the Old Town is a charming area that features a range of historical attractions. Amongst these are the 19th-century Lublin Castle and its accompanying Holy Trinity Chapel, which boasts Byzantine frescoes from medieval times. The Trynitarska Tower provides fantastic views of the pastel-colored buildings that line the cobbled streets below. Visitors can also explore Lubelska Trasa Podziemna's underground passages to discover heritage displays.

The National Museum in Lublin is housed in a stunning medieval castle that has been restored to its former glory. This impressive castle boasts a Gothic chapel adorned with 15th-century frescoes and offers free entrance to visit the museum. The museum contains an extensive collection of historical artworks and artifacts relating to the city of Lublin, making it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts.
I always try to visit this museum when I am in Lublin. It is not very big but has some gems to admire. The Holy Trinity Chapel dating back to the 13th century with Byzantine frescoes is a must-see.
Mirek Jasinski — Google review
A nice castle with an interesting museum to visit. The chapel with its frescos was the most impressive, in my opinion. The museum has both temporary and permanent exhibitions. There are lots of paintings, icons, furniture and coins.
There is a place to leave your jackets and bags (if needed). There also elevators, so it will be handy for people with special needs.
The tower has lots of steps, so take that into consideration when visiting. The top of the tower provides pretty good view of the city.
The only thing missing is a cafe in the castle yard for summer time :)

A great place to visit in Lublin, with a lot to tell. The only negative is that the posters are in Polish which makes it difficult to tell the story to the world, they could put them in English as well. Admission is free, you pay only to enter to the tower. The place is well maintained and was rebuilt with help of the European Union.

Closed for renovations at the time of my visit, even the Donjon which was included in the Lublin pass ( a complete rip-off, by the way) was closed. Looks pretty, of course, unlike most of the city, so much lost potential in Lublin, it's so sad

Very nice place to teach kids the history of the area and how people lived in the past. It was good for us as most posters and signs were in Polish and English so easier for us to read and understand. The younger staff were very friendly and showd interest in the kids, thanks for that. One point I would warn others about is if you are foreign like we were don't speak your foreign language too loud as the more elderly staff members will follow you diligently, presumably to make sure you don't touch break or steal anything. Made us a bit uncomfortable but we ignored them for the lost part so was otherwise enjoyable.

There’s a lot to see and do around the castle, which houses a surprisingly dense set of historical artworks and artifacts about the city of Lublin. The area leading toward it is of course scenic, as are the views from it. The interior is well kept but humble compared to the exterior, though with its age that’s to be expected. Be sure to check out daily and seasonal cultural events happening there, some can be quite a trip.

Unforgettable experience for art lovers.
Kobieta w podrozy - beautiful exhibition about Tamara Łempicka and art deco. Beautifully presented along with many other artists of that period.
Zamek offers exhibitions about Lublin artists in communism and their work, famous Polish painters such as Witkacy, Malczewski, Kossak and Matejko.
Worth to see many other exhibits about religious artifacts and Polish folklore, Lublin's architecture, design and many many more.
Staff very knowledgeable and friendly.
(Translated by Google) The history of the palace dates back to the 16th century, when in 1543 the Lublin and Ruthenian voivodes - Piotr Firlej - founded a town called Lewartów on the basis of the location privilege granted by King Sigismund I and began building his seat - a defensive castle. Then the palace changed owners until 1705. Duchess Maria Lubomirska brought the Lewartów estates as dowry to Paweł Karol Sanguszka, who decided to make Lewartów the seat of the family. In 1744 - at the request of Sanguszko, who derived his family from the legendary ancestor of Lubart, son of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gedymin, King August III allowed the name to be changed town on Lubartów.
Paweł Sanguszko died in 1750, the palace changed hands from then on. In 1933 a fire broke out and completely destroyed the palace. The city council bought the ruin in 1935-38, but due to World War II, reconstruction began only in the 1950s.
Currently, the residence is the seat of the County Office.

Potem pałac zmieniał właścicieli aż do 1705 roku. Grodzka Gate - NN Theatre, a pale yellow gate along the way from Rynek to Lublin Castle, holds significant historical and cultural importance. Once marking the entrance to Lublin's Jewish quarter, it has been transformed into a cultural center showcasing the city's Polish-Jewish heritage. The "Memory of the Place" exhibition at its core evokes memories of Lublin's Jewish quarter that was tragically destroyed during the Holocaust.
An incredibly interesting place in Lublin where you can learn a lot about the Jewish history of the city and its inhabitants. There is a very interesting exhibition and lots of archive material - you could really call it an archive of memories and stories.
It's really great to see that the people there are so committed to the history and culture of the city. The publications are also highly recommended.
There are guided tours on various topics (also in English), which we highly recommend.

Incredible theater and museum serving as a continuing and historic gateway between past and present, Jewish and Polish. Performances based partly on the vital work being accomplished by the cultural center, which is slowly recovering information on the thousands of Jews who once made Lublin the powerful regional and European community it was - and, differently composed, remains. Part museum, part theater, part school, part archive. An important way to learn and honor the city’s traditions and tragedies. A must see experience. Contemporary exhibits in thoughtfully planned layout. Living history.

Initially established as the highest appeals court in the Polish Kingdom by King Stephen Bathory, it was a gathering place for nobility from across Lesser Poland to resolve legal disputes.
