The imposing Château des Baux-de-Provence is a former medieval fortress located in the hills above the village of Baux, just outside of Provence. The castle has been used as a feudal stronghold and tourist attraction for centuries, with displays of replica siege engines and costumed events in summer.
Amazing stunning little town sheltered behind castle walls. Was here a while back but just loved it. Hope to return.

Amazing views and the place is impressive! The castle has a lot of attractions like bows and arrows, stone sculpting and so many others. It has nice little shops and restaurants. It is totally worth the visit. If you are with young kids or older people it could be hard for them to walk at some parts but they can sit down and enjoy beautiful views

Stunning location and amazing place to learn and get a sense of the era. Well worth the time to see the views, climb through tge ruins and to get a sense of what life was like back then.

Very nice castle on top of the also beautiful village of Les Baux de Provence. There is some animation, crossbow shooting, war machine demonstration. You will need about 1 to 1:30 hours for the visit of the castle, including the town (with lunch or diner) it is half day activity.
Jaco Knetemann — Google review
A must visit for people interested in medieval castles. There’s a video (subtitled in English) playing inside the castle about the region’s (and castle’s) past, which is very informative.
Entry to the castle is 8 EUR for adults at the time of writing.
The town itself is also very worthwhile: calm and authentic with beautiful sightseeing-spots all over.

This is a very old village at the top of a small mountain. It is very charming and very walkable. A word of warning is that it has developed into what appears to be quite the tourist attraction. There are many shops with all sorts of interesting products. Several places to get ice cream and a surprising number of cafés and restaurants, with all having their unique charm. We only had a little over an hour there, so just enough time to walk it quickly and do a little shopping. There is a ruined chateaux at the top that requires paid admission. It looked like it had some interesting displays but I did not have time. I would highly recommend that you dedicate at least a half a day or even a whole day to really appreciate this place.
Brent Husband — Google review
A must visit place. Very interesting and historical place. The climb is not difficult but you have to be very careful because it could be very windy above. Entrance fee is 10 Euro per head. Take lots of pictures from above the view is really amazing. Parking space is available below.

We visited this adorable town of Baux in October. It was the perfect time, it was cool and sunny. In Baux there are cute tourist shops, art galleries and a good restaurant overlooking the valley that serves delicious bruschetta (keep to the right in the beginning of the climb and you can't miss it). The Chateau sits on the top of the village, so you need to be able to walk uphill on a rocky surface. I have bad knees, I could do it but it was a bit painful. My boyfriend who is like a goat, ran to the top and down and back up again. He would give this place a 10. It was his favorite village while visiting Provence. The views from the chateau are panoramic. You can see for miles the valleys below. I recommend wearing good shoes with some tread as you have to do a lot of walking uphill and on gravel to see everything. I particularly enjoyed the art galleries in this town. The artists were actually good. The art was not typical tourist scenes of Baux, but modern and well done. I wish I could have spent some more time there to paint plein air but we wanted to see all of Provence in two weeks. It wasn't a plein air painting trip. Perhaps next time.

Great historic town. Lots to see, shopping, chapels, wonderful views. Go to the first overlook for a panoramic view of the valley below.
Can get very crowded, with parking hard to find. Go early!

Visited in March 2023. A good place to spend a whole day at. There are 2 museums, a lot of cafés, restaurants and little shops for tourists. It's interesting to wander around the ruined castle. You can see Medieval siege weapons and read the historical information. There is also an art exhibition.
Iryna Konovalova — Google review
Very cool cobbled streets winding up a steep hill. Was more crowded with tourists than I expected which diminished a fair bit of the charm. It was a scorching hot day when I visited and there was little shade.

Les Baux de Provence is an amazing medieval castle and a must-see destination. The area has been inhabited since prehistoric times, with its rich history evident throughout. It's a treasure that never disappoints, offering captivating exhibitions of paintings, pottery, and sculptures in the village. Exploring the area requires about half a day, as it's situated atop a small mountain, making it charming and easily walkable. However, it has become quite a tourist attraction, with numerous shops, ice cream parlors, cafes, and restaurants adding to its allure. While we only had a short time to explore, I highly recommend dedicating at least half a day, if not a full day, to truly appreciate all that Les Baux de Provence has to offer.

Super cool castle. Go early before the crowds. Parking is also much easier and the sun is fresh for photo taking. Inside a fun little town with some great shopping. Fantastic views of the French country side from atop the castle. Restrooms are plentiful and food is good near the castle. Very happy I came here to visit.

An amazing Medieval Castle , a must see . The whole area has been inhabited ever since the prehistoric days then Pons le Jeune in the tenth century. Nowadays, it is a pure Treasure we never get tired of visiting . I would highly recommend a visit myself as well as the village with all the exhibitions including paintings, fantastic pottery and sculptures. You can’t miss Les Baux de Provence .

Very, very touristy. Crowded during peak season. Basically, a mall in a medieval village with a great view. But if shopping is your thing, then you'll likely love this place. Free public toilet.
Kerry Stevens — Google review
A perched village that has survived for centuries in these hills of Provence. Very characteristic full of shops and shops that give a full experience. The castle is huge and dominates the hill, It's practically a ruin, but it welcomes many organizations from the site managers who bring it back to life.Definitely a beautiful place for families that knows how to delight with its numerous views of the gardens or even the archery game as it was back in the day.
J_Gogo — Google review
One of best castle ruins in a village we have visited.
Outside the castle ruins, there is a plateau. When you walk up to the edges, a 270’ breathtaking view of the surroundings greets you.
The walls of the ruins itself have been weathered to some extent which makes some of them look like honeycombs.
The ruins extend quite a distance inside and there are 3 places which you can climb up to for better vantage point.
For weaponry of medieval times, you can see several trebuchets and a battering ram on the castle grounds.
Ticket are priced at EUR 8/adult, which is worth it. Spend a couple of hours here to enjoy the walk and climb. Soak in the history.

The Carrières de Lumières is an art center situated in ancient quarries in the village of Baux-de-Provence in southern France. The center hosts exhibitions of digital art that project the imagery of famous artists like Picasso and Van Gogh on century old limestone walls.
What a form of art it is! The blend of light and music with this art will make you feel immersed into it. It will be a wonderful experience for anyone regardless of their interest in art. The theme when I went was "Venice, La Serenissima"
This is a great form of art expression and exhibition and would be happy to visit again as they have changing themes.

This place is amazing. I guess it was once a mine but the acoustics are amazing and they have decked the place out with high grade projectors and a serious sound system. They project animated art accompanied by music. It really is a magical experience.

We were invited and informed in advance that it is an experience we will not forget 😇 (Vincent Van Gogh). And so it happened, I expected a lot, but the mastered projection on the walls and the floor, supported by even better acoustics, wow, beauty, I will never forget this experience. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

What an incredible experience!! Art in a way i'd never seen... and heard!
The magnificence of the place on its own would be enough to warrant a visit. Add a perfect blend of music and visuals and you get a show you just can't miss.

What a treat to stop during our bike ride and see this excellent show! The visuals were stunning, the music was excellent and it was cool inside. There was a place to secure our bikes while we were there.

Beautiful place for digital art expositions. But be careful. It’s easy to get lost when it’s dark inside in between of the shows - huge open space. You’ll get an astonishing experience through visual, music and art!

Une petite visite rafraîchissante : il fait 16° dans la carrière.
Les mercredis, samedis et dimanches c'est une spéciale Tintin qui est projetée sur les murs, donc pas de tableaux de grands maîtres.

This is an absolute MUST see! It's quite simply breathtaking. My teenagers were spellbound but when we took them a younger children, they were equally impressed. Go early in the morning to avoid the crowds and book in advance as you approach the high summer season. It's a little chilly inside so pack a jumper if you're visiting, even in summer. No dogs are allowed inside at all so be mindful of this if travelling with your furry friend.

Really above expectations. Beautiful presentation in a mountain. It already starts with the beautiful route to the location. Parking 🅿️ is paid, but enough spots and some will require some more walking. Location is children and wheelchair friendly. Even the kids enjoyed the show as the complete location is part of the presentation. Beautiful storyline and nice that there are multiple benches to sit, relax and to enjoy the show. It’s worth it to do a round and view the show from different angles. Cafe/lunch section is not the greatest but ok 👍🏻.

We went for the Tintin exhibition, it was really awesome for the kids and me. Whoever read and like the comics would love that experience. Entrance fee (family pack 41€) worth the value. A totally immersive experience that’s stunning in its creativity, use of multi media and the wonderful setting. Wherever one stands there’s a new vista of sound and vision. Great use of a quarry space for a great multimedia performance. Could not watch the Cocteau film because it was only in French without subtitles.
Gloria Tan — Google review
Amazing place of art and usage of a place. Highly recommended for all who love art. Multimedia presentation of van Gogh was excellent and unique. We spent 3 h inside. There is also a dining area with toilets. Just be aware that parking is very expensive for the first hour (5€), we paid 6.5€ for 3 hours. The entry fee was 14.5 € for an adult. Inside was nice cold, just perfect regarding that outside was 34 C.
Luka Mitrovic — Google review
The immersive light show exhibition is a breathtaking fusion of art and technology, casting the impassioned brushstrokes of Van Gogh and his Impressionist contemporaries onto an expansive canvas that envelops the entire space. In the heart of the Baux de Provence region, the raw beauty of the artists' work is amplified, creating a symphony of light that dances across every surface, inviting the viewer into a vivid world where color and texture come alive. This is not just an exhibition; it's a sensory journey that intertwines the soul of Impressionism with the pulse of the present.

I have never seen anything so beautiful!! Truly the organization and idea of using this quarry It really is rewarding. A feast for the eyes, the play of light and the different animations to give life to the art. I advise you to pass because it is a beautiful place especially for the families. After that you can visit the chateau baux by walking 5 minutes

Route de Maillane, 13520 Les Baux-de-Provence, France
Abbey Notre-Dame de Sénanque is a 12th-century Cistercian monastery that offers guided tours of its church and cloisters. The abbey is located about 3 miles from the center of Gordes and has stunning lavender fields that provide a classic postcard shot during July and August. Visitors can explore the grounds on their own for an hour in the morning or join a guided tour to visit the interior at other times.
This small 12th century monastery is a fifteen minute drive from Gordes. It's an active monastery with six monks. You can go on a guided tour in French or opt for the self guided tour for which you'll get a tablet in multiple languages. The tablet tour is excellent: you can switch back and forth between the present and the past. You can learn a lot about life in a monastery. It takes around 30—60 min to complete the tour. The extensive gift shop sells products made by this and other monasteries. Especially the lavender honey is recommendable.
Beat A. Schwendimann — Google review
I went to see this Abbey for the second time. This time I went in early October. I knew the lavender would not be in bloom but I wanted to see it again anyway. I was not disappointed. The rows of once purple lavender still had a slight blue hue. They lead the eye like arrows to the newly washed stones of the Abbey. Once grayed by time, these stones are now a warm yellow. We were able to go inside, but it was Sunday and the monks were celebrating privately so we didn't get the tour. We walked around outside toward the back of the Abbey. The grounds are littered with big trees and brush. You can spot the bright white statue of Mary up the hill peeking between the branches. It is definitely worth a visit in any season, but if you can, it is best to time it when the lavender is blooming in June.
Kim Weissenborn — Google review
A beautiful, picturesque Abbey, steeped in serenity. I visited the Abbey in April, with all countryside in bloom and green. The historical value of the Abbey dates back centuries, and it’s wonderful to walk around the different sections and learn about it. There is a hiking path connecting the Abbey with Gordes village, if anyone is interested. There is lavender planted in all surroundings, making the place unique.
Kyriaki Andreou — Google review
Went with my family for a nice walk and self tour inside with totally new way of guidance. Fair fee and pad with video tour software showing the past and present days. Also the shop with all kind of staff will just amazed me. Lavender bee honey is just one of my favorite and this one is worth every penny.
Luka Mitrovic — Google review
Very unique place, loved the serenity. Dogs are not allowed close to the monastery. You can however walk around it with them. Going inside there is a lovely shop with lots of regional products. Is a nice stop to combine with other places in the area. We spend around 1.5 here (but we went inside separate because of the dog)
Roxanne Overeem — Google review
Awesome ride! And awesome place, the smell here was lovely. We walked around for an hour and continued our journey. There was a very long waiting line for the abbey, so we end up not going there. The pictures of the place also didn’t seem too beautiful as well. And entree is also not free.
Lex O — Google review
A great place outdoor is the best to take some pictures and smell lavanda fields perfume. Indoor is less impressive but still worth a visit if you have never visited a 12th century abbey. Last time I was there was in summer 2017 but I am pretty sure nothing changes in a place like this, where time has literally stopped. You can book a guided tour if you want to. THis is a 4 star review as I enjoyed Gordes site more.
Cyril BECKER — Google review
Very pretty stop to see the Abbey. It has a tour with a screen to scan in order to get more information about the life and times of the monks living here. Silence is necessary when walking around. However the drive here can be a little tricky so be careful making your way here.
Jo Oy — Google review
the drive there offered a beautiful view of the surrounding nature. the lavender fields were colorful and not too crowded and parking there was pretty easy too.
We took some pictures and visited the small shop that offers a variety of good quality lavender-themed and provence items without being too tourist-y.
Sven Ulmerich — Google review
Such a beautiful place, but it deserves so much more. Our guide seemed to be totally bored by his job, acoustic was terrible and the church was a messy construction site. To be honest, I was really disappointed as I still had such wonderful memory from this beautiful place from long ago when amazing Maronite music could be heard throughout the building which added to the magic. Sénanque definitely still is worth a visit but the tour felt soulless.
Claire J. — Google review
Beautiful lavender fields that just take your breath away. The history is incredible. Don’t miss out on the gift shop, because the prices are reasonable.
Hilda DeHoyos Garza — Google review
Great day trip to go see this. The roads are a bit narrow but that’s normal for this area in France. It was Good Friday when we went so the shop was closed and the lavender was not in season yet, but still worth a trip if you’re looking for something to do and still good for some pics
William van Zyl — Google review
beauty and knowledge are two things you will take away from this amazing senanque. I can’t wait to return when the lavender is in bloom in the summer. I visited in mid October and the weather was perfect. the interactive pads they gave you to visit through the senanque is top-tear I live in NY and this was better than the museums there. So informative about how the Monks have lived and continue to live in this beautiful Senanque. The shop is incredible and a lot of their product is sourced from the grounds! The experience will take about an hour or hour and a half. The architecture of this place is stunning. Just a 10/10 and so well priced, tickets are cheap and the gift shop is reasonable. A true Gem and beautiful experience.
Anna Maria Giannaros — Google review
Interesting but not too much of it is original. Worth doing if you’re passing by but I wouldn’t travel too far specifically to see it. I’d like to see it when the Lavender is in bloom.

Secluded monastery in the middle of nowhere. It's near Gordes but you need to go a bit further. Parking space is a lot and not too pack with people.

This is an incredible place to visit during lavander season.
The visit will take up to 1 hour, and with the ticket fee you get and audio guide that aims to explain the history of the place.
The place is crowded with tourists so it would be wise to visit early in the morning. Definitely pay a visit to the nearby town of Gordes once you are there.
Francesco Libardoni — Google review
We walked here from Gordes which was well worth the trip (but wear proper walking boots as the path is loose rock and extremely uneven). In March, which still seems to be the low season, this astonishing building was serenely peaceful and tranquil – especially the cloister. I felt so grateful to the monks for inviting the public into their dwelling. Recommend visiting out of season to really get a sense of what life must have been like here for centuries.

This place is like no other. Upon walking down a hill and seeing it from a distance it will blow you away. Absolutely gorgeous. Must see.
L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue Market is a sprawling market situated alongside the canals that offers an array of goods such as fruits, cheese, flowers, antiques and artworks. Although it exudes charm, prices are mainly targeted towards tourists with many vendors selling similar wares. Ideal for souvenir shopping but products like honey, wine or mustard can be purchased at nearby shops or Intermarche supermarket which is just a few kilometers away.
If you’re going to go to a market, this is the one that is a must. So many vendors in a very nice setting. We also enjoyed sitting in the shade and enjoyed the live singer. Better to go early and be prepared for so many people. We parked far away to enjoy the scenery.

Wierd and wonderful selection of oddities, including lovely local pottery (saw 6 versions of antique asparagus plates), vintage linens, swords and regular flea market stalls. We arrived midday so some were starting to pack up.. very crowded on a Saturday.

Extremely charming market. Prices are tourist prices, no giveaways here. You will note that many sellers have exactly the same goods. I use for souvenirs mainly, and buy the honey/wine/mustard/lavender etc in the shops or Intermarche supermarket a couple of KM'S away. But nice relaxed athmosphere. Coffee eur 8,-... But quite nice.

Get it on ur schedule. This market has food, linens, clothing, shoes, antiques... town is cute. Arriving early is best. We had to park and walk, but it's a beautiful little town so not a problem for us. Go see the olive guy (see pics), he makes the tapenade he sells.
Michelle Martinez — Google review
In a village that feels naturally cooled by the streams, brooks and channels that run through it, market felt like a great opportunity to browse what was on offer.
While the town itself is a gem, market felt more or less like any other Provence market. More focused on tourist sales than being genuine. High prices and awareness that tourists will cough up if they find a trinket or a piece of cheese they like.
Visit for the atmosphere.

Huge market all over town, a little busy and feels more touristy than other markets in Provence, but if you only have time for one market this should probably be it.
There's a free parking lot about 15 minutes walk from there (you'll see it on the way), I recommend parking there because the other parking lots are packed.

Loved the town and actually found a few things for home at the market, but after being on a bike in the French countryside for a week, the sheer numbers of people and general hubbub of the market as it closed down was a bit much!

If you have limited time to travel in Provence and struggle to decide which market to go, this one is the one! This market is simply amazing and has all sorts of fresh produce, soap, clothes, souvenirs, flowers, local food, artistic works, and many many more! All the stall owners are super-friendly! PLUS, the surrounding has all sorts of restaurants for you to enjoy. And if you are interested in antiques, this place (and the vicinity as well) has a little market for that as well! Loved the market. It seems to go on forever when walking around it. Twisting and turning around the small streets of Isle sur la Sorge. You can buy cheeses, fresh vegetables, Tibetan Jewellery, French tea towels, and pretty much most things. The small shops open at 10.00. The first thing in the morning is much quieter as the shops open the town gets very busy. Definitely worth a visit, but try to park a bit further out of town if you can. Otherwise you will get stuck in gridlock as numbers of cars trying to pass through the town rises.

This is antique central, however you are paying tourists prices, it is possible to haggle but not a great deal although we did pick up a nice couple of bits. Very busy lots of arty shops and gift shops again tourist prices so a bit on the expensive side. The cathedral in the city centre is outstanding and I would make this part of your visit

Lovely meander through the town, lots of interesting places, shops, art gallery and church. Don't be looking for food after 3pm - unless a sandwich and soft drink/coffee will suffice

Huge and the flea market was especially fun! Gotta love the mere/pere (sorry for the missing accents) sign in one of the shops!!

The Palais des Papes is a historical landmark in Avignon, France. It was originally constructed as the home of Pope Clement V and later served as the residence of other popes. The palace is now open to the public and features some beautiful artwork and cultural events.
Amazing castle with very interesting history guide. Chinese is available in the guide. There are incredible wall paintings in the castle where you can’t take photos in those rooms. It’s definitely worth the ticket price and the visit. The 3D castle magnet is very pretty and I couldn’t find the same magnet design elsewhere apart from in the castle souvenir shop. Unfortunately it seems impossible to visit the souvenir shop again once you are out of the gate.

Beautifully curated and well kept palace. There is so much history to be discovered, and so many new things to explore. It is very well kept, with cleaning every few weeks, for the outside. The town surrounding is very touristy, with many shops and restaurants to see. I would recommend going into the palace after lunch, so that you'll go in not starving.

The visitor experience here is really well done. We didn’t buy tickets ahead of time but there wasn’t much of a wait (<5 min) when we went on a Monday around 4pm. The histopad/tablet was a great interactive feature which made the overall visit more interesting. Loved the temporary Eva Jospin exhibits as well (which will be there until January 2024).
Joycelin Wong — Google review
An amazing place with a history that makes you think about the "infallibility and unity" of the Catholic Church. Nevertheless, the palace itself, its vastness and splendor inspire respect and admiration. How were people in those times able to build something so huge and so solid at the same time!? Wonderful cloisters, walls and courtyards. Huge spaces of halls inside the palace. Incredible.
Rav W (RaVek72) — Google review
We enjoyed visiting this palace very much. Once we arrived and paid our tickets, we were offered tables and headphones. While we took the self guided tour we could see with the help of the tablets the way in which each room looked like back in the day. We appreciate the integration of technology in the experience. The tickets we got included a visit on the Avignon bridge too.
Georgiana Ioana — Google review
We purchased a package that included the Palisade des Papes, the garden, and the bridge where we visited the first two on one day and the bridge the next.
They provided a very interesting tablet that allows you to view many of the rooms you visit as they likely looked back in time. Many of the rooms were quite sparse and there are a number of stairs so those with issues with them might have issues.
The garden section was small and not very interesting due to the lack of well kept plants and flowers.
During our visit there was a photographic exhibition on the Amazon which was interesting but was very warm with all the lights even though it was October due to the very little cooling which consisted of a couple of fans.
Sal FromCal — Google review
After narrow streets of Avignon, suddenly we arrived in a very grand piazza, which is contrary to the small alleys in the city. Very nice place to spend your time sitting and enjoy the sunset. We didnt get into the palace since we were late. Hopefully next time
Ellen Brigitta — Google review
It's worth a walk through because of its importance and size, both significant but the crowds (even on the last day of October) can make looking at some of the smaller rooms impossible. So you wait until the crowd has left or you skip the room. In summer it would be horrific I'm sure, and if I imagine the crowds I would say not worth it. The tour route is not particularly clear and the history ipad thing is a bit clunky. The best thing I can say about it is that it saves trees for brochures.
Craig Priddle — Google review
Pretty stunning building with amazing views from the tower. The guide gadgets were good for adding colour to the rooms. The exhibition of cardboard sculptures was very interesting. I think for the time of year advance tickets we’re not necessary.
Paul Grace — Google review
This isn't a museum it's a massively overpriced augmented reality tour through mostly empty rooms. The walls look the same from the outside so you might as well stay there.
There is a nice view from the terrace but its not good enough to make up for the rest.

Very interesting and historical place.
Some rooms o areas are currently closed because of the COVID, but it's very nice anyway.
Be careful for the Mistrial in some parts!
Miki Dima — Google review
Absolutely worth seeing. However, it is very popular and it felt a little bit like cattle being herded through. I'd also recommend buying tickets in advance. Nonetheless, it's a very interesting and beautiful place.

Excellent histopad which takes you through the various rooms. You scan the scan in each room and on your pad the room as it was is brought to life, with marked areas to learn more about the room, the people who used it and about some of the items used, as well as seeing how it was decorated. Well worth a visit. Many many steps both up and down.
Margaret Norah — Google review
Interesting to learn about the story of this place and how it was important geographically. Easy to visit, they have computer simulation of how the rooms looked. A few of them have the original painting and tiles. Don't forget to visit the gatdens as well.

I didn't know I would enjoy this visit so much. The computer tablets they lend you are a bit of a distraction at the beginning, but turn out to be a wealth of information and a lot of fun once you figure them out. The palace is amazing and historically very significant. This is the one thing everyone should do when visiting Avignon. I can't believe it took me this long to get there.
Guillaume Slama — Google review
The Palace itself was remarkable. It's hard to fathom that it was built so long along and in such incredible condition.
However, the Samsung tablet that they give you is a little immature. You scan a QR code and you read a little information (there is no sound) and then you are meant to scan the room and watch the screen to see a rendered version of how it used to look, which would be great for kids, but I prefer facts and historical data.
There were many many signs around the castle explaining things, but it was all in French. It's a shame the tablet couldn't be used to scan those information boards and translate into other languages like on Google Translate.
The large grandstand as you enter the exhibition also detracted from the experience, but I am still glad we attended.
There were some amazing artifacts and the Pope's bedroom with it's painted walls and elaborate floor was our favourite part.
Samantha Platt — Google review
Wonderful application on the Museum’s tablets showing how the rooms and halls (now empty) were decorated, what were the foods, etc. Impressing! Nice small garden. Lots of staires up and down. Combined ticket for palais, garden and Pont.

An absolutely historical hotspot. It’s one of the biggest, still existing middle age-gothic buildings/ structures. Really impressive - also nicely guided. Your visit will be combined (if you want) with a digital tablet guiding “game”. The digital guide motivates you to explore every room, as you can collect treasures.
André Bonin — Google review
Great palace from ancient times. You get a tablet for free to use during the visit. With that you can get a lot of background information about the palace and each room. With the tablet you can also look around to see on the screen how those rooms used to look like during the pope was living there.

We had a great experience visiting this palace. Lots of historical events happened here that everyone who comes to Avignon have to know. I've learned lots of new things about the way of living of the popes, his second hand, the treasury, the three-storey kitchen, etc. The palace is grandiose.

This is a beautiful place with lots of history. Be sure to walk on the very old famous bridge where you can see remnants from long ago. Lots of history and beauty here. Highly recommend a visit to Avignon. You will not be disappointed. 🩷

A visit to the Palais de Papes (Papal Palace) in Avignon takes visitors back to the 14th century when the city served as the seat of the Papacy. The palace is a magnificent Gothic structure, and was a symbol of power and influence for the Catholic Church during that time.
I enjoyed stunning architecture, frescoes, and halls that once hosted ceremonies and events.
There are various rooms and chambers to explore in the palace. The exhibits, artifacts, and multimedia presentations provide information about the significance of the Papal Palace in the medieval period.
From the top of the palace, there are panoramic views of the city of Avignon and the surrounding countryside.
Overall, a visit to the Papal Palace in Avignon is a worthwhile investment of time for a lengthy visit.
The Pont Saint-Benezet bridge, which spans the Rhone, is a well-known medieval structure. Constructed in 1185, it was once connecting Avignon with Villeneuve-les-Avignon. However, over time it was repeatedly damaged by floods and ultimately only four of its original arches remain.
A remarkable story and piece of history.
I liked the audio guide and we purchased our ticket for the bridge as part of a 3 part package with the Pope's Palace and gardens for just £17/person.
Make sure you take the time to go downstairs at the end of the tour to view the film room. There is some very interesting information on the restoration of the bridge and the most incredible reconstructed image on the wall of what all 22 arches would have looked like.
Highly recommend

You can learn a lot about the history if you pay for the ticket. If you prefer to see amazing buildings or ancient rooms, you are not going to get much “walking on top of the bridge“.

The famous historic Bridge of Avignon. In fact it is only half bridge as part of it was broken down centuries ago due to changed of streaming of river Rhone. Marvellous walk and Tables with good explanations about construction and history also in English.
A lift allows also access for handicaped onto the Bridge.

It's simply a must see town in beautiful Provence.
The first impression is building up on approaches, when you drive along the impressive city walls. Parking is easy, with plenty of underground car parks, whichever direction you choose you see something interesting and beautiful. You really feel like being in an old town, surrounded by history. One of the most charming towns in France. Don't miss it of you are near by. It's only around one hour drive from Marseille.

It reminds me of the song my mother was singing when I was young ... The view of the river is quite nice. There is an elevator so we can go with a stroller. There is also an audio guide which is nice when you have the time to listen to it and no kids to watch out. It can be dangerous with very young kids, the barriers are not safe and they can easily fall.

Cool to finally see the pont d’Avignon… but it wasn’t that impressive. It was a bit of a let down, to be honest, but it was still a pleasant visit with a beautiful view of the lake!

The view is a bit disappointing and the main road passing just nearby really removes the charm of this historic site. Audio guide is nice to get to know the history.

It was a very nice day, and the palais de papes was absolutely stunning. I then walked towards the Pont Saint-Benezet, which was an amazing walk because of the many shops and old streets. I had to walk through the old wall, which was gorgeous, and then I laid eyes on the bridge, which was very historical. All in all a great trip.
Cole Wright — Google review
Great spot to visit! Get the combo with the Palais des Papes, garden and Pont Saint-Benezet. You have an audio guide included at the bridge which is very interesting.
Very nice visit that will take you less than an hour.

Quite a reasonable destination and the view was pretty. It was only a top up of €2.5 from the palace of popes ticket (although the compound was separate) but it's worth a visit.

There is a free ferry ride on the river where you can probably take a picture from a different point of view. It’s hard to take picture without cars passing, this road is very busy. It’s a great view from above. Come here during sunset specially summertime.
Suzette E — Google review
Historic and world famous monument. You could just admire the bridge from afar, but I think it’s definitely worth paying to go and explore properly.
You’re given a little handheld device which gives you snippets of information along various points of the bridge. Thankfully the recordings only last for less than 2 minutes - which is plenty of time to give you some interesting facts without boring you to tears!
It’s also worth visiting at sunset and when it gets dark - it’s a really beautiful monument at all times of the day and night.
Caroline Findlay — Google review
You're charged a few Euros to get onto the bridge, and there's a small exhibition, but you'll see more of the bridge from either the riverbank or up on the nearby hillside. It's a bit of a 'must do' while in Avignon but you'll not really miss much if you don't have time.
Tom Johnston — Google review
If you are going to see the palace don't buy this separately. €12 palace ticket included this bridge. Nice scenic overview of palace from here.

It is a must see in Avignon - if only because of the famous song. Read the history behind the bridge and how bridges were built in the Middle Ages and are still today. Quite interesting and not too extensive info right before you get on the bridge. The latter is… just a beautiful bridge that abruptly ends in the middle of the Rhône river. But that is a mystery you can learn about as well if you bother to read the above mentioned info.
Antoine Kremer — Google review
I've dreamt of visiting the bridge since I was 14. Today, at 56, the dream came true. "Sur le Pont d'Avignon, on y danse..." blared in my head as I walked along that lovely span that remains. It was everything I hoped for and more. But then again, Avignon is spectacular!

The Théâtre antique d'Orange is a remarkable Roman monument that has been recognized by UNESCO as one of France's most extraordinary Roman sites. It is an exceptionally well-preserved structure that stands out for its grand size and historical significance. Among the three existing intact Roman theaters in the world, this theater is unique with a seating capacity of 10,000 spectators and an enormous stage wall measuring 37m high, 103m wide, and 1.8m thick.
The theater is stunning. We took a virtual tour which gave a mock up of how it outdoors have been in the ancient times. I really recommend a visit to this place that is quite used nowadays as well for concerts and plays.

I can recommend the Escape Game. It is highly engaging and a great way to add more depth to a visit to the Roman theater. The free audio guide can be combined with the Escape Game, but I would not suggest that. The audio fragments are relatively long and most of your attention will go to solving the puzzles of the game anyways.

Very well preserved Roman theatre that is still in use, apparently with excellent acoustics. The stunning building behind the stage is one of the most remarkable of its kind for its grandeur and good condition. On the other hand, the tiers have been totally replaced by a modern structure.

What an awesome sight! Having studied Greek and Roman Theatre at college decades ago, I never expected to see a Roman Theatre in such a fantastic state of preservation - that stage building is just incredible. The audio guide was very good and the additional displays were very informative about Roman life generally. A memorable visit.

Fascinating place.
Bigger than you would expect and much more complicated. Actually an arts center as they did much more than just put on plays. They self guided tour is excellent. You leave feeling like you truly understand what a small segment of Roman life was like.
Wish we had more time to look around.
Museum is an added bonus showing what they used as everyday objects as well as props and build design elements.

The theater is absolutely gigantic and a must-see! It is just incredible how huge the theater is and how old.
I will definitively come here again for one of the concerts as experiencing one in such a setting must be one of the best things ever.
Not sure about people claiming the entrance fee. 13 Euros p.p. were absolutely okay and worth it unless you have a sight like this in your backyard and are used to such a sight. The audio guide was quite informative and interesting.
Annekathrin Wulfers — Google review
A piece of Roman history and architecture that withstood the test of time.
Wonder why they don’t build nowadays like they used to? 🤔
From the outside, it looks impressive. Every corner you look from, there’s a different facade which tells a story.
Entrance fee is €11.50/adult including the headset (compulsory) for the theatre and the museum across the road.
The theatre steps have been restored, so, not much of it is original. The backdrop where the stage is, is a work of art. Imagine how grand it will all be if it was still intact. However, just the remains tells you of the immense size of the building.
The Greeks and the Romans must be excellent sound technicians. So much so, the theatre is still used for concerts and performances because of its acoustics.
We climbed up to the very top, sat down to take it all in while looking down to the stage and backdrop.
If you do get a chance, visit Orange as well when you are visiting Avignon. You will not regret it.
Suggestion - the management of the theatre should give a choice to visitors to either opt for the headset or not. Other places seem to be doing that.

The castle of Grignan is from the 17th century. It is destroyed in the past and was rebuild from a madame within public money. Now you can visit the town around and the castle itself also, entry is for kids until 12 years for free. A guided tour is also possible. Adults pay without the guided tour 8€ /person for the visit. The area around to see from the terrasse is wonderful and beautiful.

We didn't actually visit the castle although did climb up through the roads and alleys to the entrance. Palais Idéal is a unique and fascinating historic landmark located in Hauterives, Drome. This extraordinary monument was built by a postman named Cheval over the course of 33 years. It is adorned with inscriptions of his poetry and stands as a testament to his dedication and creativity. The site has become a popular destination for visitors, offering an opportunity to explore the surreal construction that embodies someone's dream.

It is definitely worth the time to drive to this nice monument and learn about the beautiful history behind it. A brilliant mailman built this palace for his daughter in 33 years by himself. There's even a beautiful movie about this true story called “L’incroyable histoire du facteur Cheval”.
There is a museum nearby as well.

This is an amazing experience. Walking through one man’s artistic vision is impressive. There is a nice movie about his life you can watch and other artist’s work that are homages to Ferdinand Cheval. You should also to a few moments and go to the cemetery where he built another structure because they wouldn’t allow him to be buried on site.

If you want to get the most exciting experience form the visit of the place I can recommend watching a movie about this place which tells about a romantic idea behind this famous work of art of a postman. It motivates and empowers when you see how one idea may spark the flame of creativity and self confidence. It’s not just a monument of naive art but it’s a story of a person who made the dream come true.
The visit is not so expensive as you also can take a look at the exhibition in the museum and buy some souvenirs. There’re lots of tourists. So better to arrive earlier to have a chance to take a photo of the palace with less people walking around.

There is also grass and benches to rest and hang around .

It's hard to review this without partial stars. As the life labor of love of one man, I'd give this monument 4/4.5 stars.
As a destination, one on a little town in the middle of nowhere Farmville france, I'd give it 3/3.5 stars.
So, I'll give it a weak 4 stars. That is to say, if you have nothing to do, it's convenient to you and want to see something cool for 1 to 2 hours. Do it.
The cost is eur9.50 each adult.
I suspect it's FAR busier and more expensive and less pleasant in the warmer months though.
The grounds need maintenance for certain and I wonder if they do light shows and special events. Doesn't look like they do, but they should.
Pro tip... if you're outside the entrance, use the bathroom next to the city hall.

The story of the Postmand who build this "Palace" is simply outstanding. The amount of hours and work spend on creating this place is amazing. The Palace it self is a true work of art, and the more you look at it the more you see. We spend about 1,5 hours at this place, and I am still amazed as I write this. This is a testament of will power, dedication and hard work. It cost 9,5 Euro for adults and 6,5 for children. You are not allowed to carry backpacks since it is narrow, but there is boxes for storing backpacks while you visit the site. Parking was relatively easy, but most of parking is for cars below 2,2 meters. All text in the museum is in French, but Google Lens will help you with this. If you are in the area, do not hesitate to go see this, and read the story.

The Couriot Musée de la Mine in Saint-Etienne is a museum dedicated to mining and the history of the area. The museum has an 8-acre park and picnic areas that give visitors a glimpse into life as a miner in the early 20th century. The guided tour includes information about how miners worked and lived, as well as modern high-speed elevators that take visitors down into the mine for a cart ride and walkthrough.
The best excuse to visit Saint Etienne. Plenty of information in open exhibitions as well as a guided tour through the facility. The tour includes a visit down the mine and a short ride on an operational mine train. Our tour guide, Chloe, was fantastic. She obviously enjoys her job and makes everyone excited to learn more as she explains everything with such passion and humour. The facility is in a relatively good state and the exhibitions within the mine help you travel back through time with examples of mines throughout the ages. I would highly recommend visiting this museum if you find yourself at Saint Etienne as the town has little else worth your time.

Awesome museum !
I highly recommend doing a guided visit.
You will go underground and see how a charcoal mine is. The guide was very nice and very informative.

Good experience, although you can't go down a real mine. But it's nice to see how they worked down there.

The parc-musée de la mine, Saint-Etienne:
I recommend this visit! The museum of the mine of Saint-Etienne is a real witness of the history and the culture of the region. Indeed, I chose to visit this museum because if the activity of the mines ceased a long time ago, these last ones contributed to the formation of the region and they are always part of the landscape and the « Stéphanois » heritage.
This visit deeply marked me. Indeed, by discovering the mine one is quickly challenged by the extreme and sometimes dehumanizing conditions in which the miners worked. The deserted character of some rooms is sometimes chilling as for example « la salles des pendus », however it is easy to imagine in this quiet room the noisy activity which took place there a few decades ago.
The guided tour lasts one hour and fifteen minutes and is free for children, I found the guides fascinating, they lead us into the depths of the mine, putting us in the conditions of the miners. It is difficult to get bored, and even children can understand a lot from this visit.
Finally, at the end of the guided tour, it is possible to go to rooms that retrace the history of this place, of social struggles that took place on it and of the city of Saint-Etienne, thanks to models and archive images. I recommend the visit of these rooms to history buffs!

This museum is a former coal mine. Super interesting to visit if you pass by and you are interested in this kind of stuff. If you book in advance a guided tour (organised by the museum), you will also have the opportunity to visit a replica of the mine galleries, which includes a short underground train ride (underground facilities are not open to visitors with a regular entry ticket, guided tour only). Suitable for children. Everything is in French, though.

A lot of informations about a time where Coal is 'Gold'. You can see how the miners work and lives in Saint-Étienne.

A wonderful exposure to the life of the miners the mine tour experience is well worth it if you're in the area, they fully emerse you in atmosphere when underground, you can smell the coal. Great way to spend a rainy day

Good museum of a retired mine.
However, the tour is only in French. We joined anyway and going down into the mine was interesting enough by itself.
Hopefully they will add a tour in English in the future.

Very interesting bit of French/European history. The guided tour we took was in French, didn't ask if they offer in other languages but you can visit everything top side without the guide.

3 Boul. Maréchal Franchet d'Esperey, 42000 Saint-Étienne, France
This museum is devoted to hyper-realistic miniature scenes and movie props, as well as special effects exhibits. It is another unusual attraction that many tourists find fascinating. The museum has over 400 pieces of movie memorabilia, including costumes, accessories, and sets. Additionally, the museum houses a collection of 120 miniature movie sets meticulously created by artist Dan Ohlmann. Visitors can enjoy posing in front of dinosaurs or walking through a miniature version of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
A really great museum and fantastic way to spend an hour or two in Lyon. The first few floors are props, costumes and other items from major films. These are all pretty interesting, but the highlight is in the top floor. A series of absolutely incredible miniature scenes painstakingly created with astounding details. I could look at them for ages, marvelling at the skill. Never seen anything like it. My photos here are all models, no more than 2 feet across.
James Richardson — Google review
A fabulous museum. I last visited in 1998 when it was miniatures only and the highlight was Bible verses on a grain of rice. Now it has a wonderful display of cinematic props and models, costumes, prosthetics, weapons and other artifacts. Wes Anderson has his own gallery. The miniature rooms on the top floor are simply amazing, both intricate and beautiful. Well worth a visit.

This is one of my favorite museums in France and is a great museum for a movie fan. You could spend a lot of time there without being bored. There are a lot of nice props, costumes, and film technologies, etc that are amazing. My favorite part of this museum is the miniature part. The miniatures are so incredible, and painstakingly created. I can visit and spend ages looking at all of them, and still not be bored at all. Dan Ohlmann and other artists have done a wonderful job, and I would like to thank them for creating such an amazing museum like this. I highly recommend visiting this museum when you are visiting Lyon.

Visited this place a little bit before closing and I had to fight myself to believe that it was miniature. The first floor is major film props like Harry Potter, but the top floor is the main standout, A collection of incredibly detailed miniature scenes that were meticulously built. You could be amazed at the skill for a very long time, next to nothing you've ever seen. All of the images of the sets are pressed to the window, no more than 15 cm.

I came to this museum because I had access to it with the Lyon City Card pass (super easy to use when visiting Lyon). I really enjoyed this museum; it had 4-5 floors with 8-9 different exhibits. It’s a nice tourist attraction for cinephile and families that enjoy looking at movie props. I spent probably 1h30 doing all the floors and could’ve spent much longer if I wasn’t on a tight schedule.
There is lineup to get in here, but it wasn’t long (probably 15-20 mins wait). I recommend this museum to all that visit Lyon, especially if you want to escape the afternoon summer heat.

A privately owned museum that will delight film buffs and newbies alike! The ticket paid for itself with the ground-floor Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade sidecar (a reproduction that you can get in and photograph), as well as the idol from Raiders (that you can also play and photograph yourself with). I won't spoil your fun with more details: just know it is totally worth visiting 😊

It's rare that you go to a museum that's truly different and spectacular at the same time, but this is exactly what this is. You start with visiting various parts of the set of the movie Perfume. Then there are a few floors containing various items used in many popular movies. You finish at the top floor containing lots of absolutely stunning miniatures used in films. Overall a brilliant experience and I'd say this is a must for any movie fans visiting Lyon.
Vlad Schnakovszki — Google review
Brilliant if you are a movie fan. Real sets, props and costumes from some the biggest movies in history. Some of the displays maybe a little upsetting for very small children, but otherwise very family friendly. The building is very old and atmospheric. Loved the Alien Queen as used in AVP and the Predator costume.
Shaun Morgan — Google review
From the outside, the museum looks very small. This place has nine floors, stacked in a beautiful building in Lyon's old town. The miniature exhibits are out of this world. They are meticulously designed and illustrated with lighting. The cinema part of the museum is also fun. Do not miss this place if you are in Lyon.

A very nice place, located in the center of the old town in an old building. The museum presents many interesting fragments and costumes from different films.

4 floors. 9 rooms. More than 500 items from Hollywood film studios and other studios from the world! Incredible experience. I literally saw decorations and costumes from original Star Wars, Back to the future, Batman, Spider-Man (all movies that were made before the digital era) - all these amazing things!
These emotions and feelings have to be experienced. Thanks to Dan Ohlmann for collecting it!

This museum was so incredibly amazing, we loved it! So many great movie props, costumes and prosthetics from the actual movie productions - what a collection! I was especially blown away by the miniatures collection on the top floor. I could have spent all day looking at each scene; the talent of the artist who constructs them is otherworldly. Definitely check this one out!

Came here over 7 years ago and I returned today. Such an endearing place, a Lyon must and, if you love films/design, you will enjoy it so much.
My only comment is that it lacks accessibility; the elevator was not working and the exhibitions are inaccessible unless you go up and down some slipper stairs over and over again.
Love place!!

Fantastic! Set in an amazing multi story building. Lots of neat movie props and history as well. Information signage is English too. The miniatures on the top floors are lifelike and excellent in the recreation.
Well worth the cost of admission and set inside the old town so lots of great stuff to see nearby too.
Highly recommend!

Definitely a larger focus on older movies in this museum which is only natural. I’d say you need to be 25 or older to understand everything but it’s easy to appreciate for movie fans. Lots of cool props, the sets are rather niche but cool as are the miniature sets.

An amazing museum with so many items that would turn the heads of movie addicts. Real items that were used in blockbuster movies. The miniature part of the museum is really unbelievable, the level of details is incredible. A highly recommended destination whenever in Lyon
Vieux Lyon is located on the banks of the Saône River and features historic mansions with terracotta-tiled roofs and hidden courtyards. The Cathédrale Saint-Jean-Baptiste, built in medieval times, houses an elaborate astronomical clock, while the Movies & Miniature Museum displays miniature models created by Dan Ohlmann. The area's steep streets are lined with upscale bars serving Beaujolais wines and fine-dining restaurants.
The Basilica Notre Dame de Fourviere is a neo-Byzantine religious confection of Roman columns and religious iconography, located in Lyon, France. Its towering exterior is meant to impress with its gleaming marble, gold gilt, fantastic stained glass and hallucinogenic ceiling, making it one of the city's most popular attractions.
Our Lady of Fourvière is an imposing church on the top of the hill with panoramic views of almost the entire city of Lyon. Inside, the rich decoration gives a grandeur to the temple that fixes you. I believe it is the most important attraction of the city without this meaning that this beautiful city does not have many hidden beauties for the traveler. Also for the climb to the hill I highly recommend the picturesque wagon with the cog railway.

The church is located up the hill of Lyon city, the view is spectacular. You can see almost all the building in Lyon. Also the church and art are beautiful both in and out. It is not crowded by the time I visited. It is easy to get here by train. Recommended to come as it must be the bucket-list for Lyon city!

The Basilica is beautiful inside and out, especially when seen up on the hill. The view looking out over Lyon is even better, you can see for miles and look down on all the other landmarks that you probably walked past on your way to this one. Stunning.

A beautiful piece of art. A great location to enjoy the view of city from the height. It is an equivalent of scare couer of Paris but maybe slightly better I feel. You can either walk uphill to this place, or can take a cable train or even a car since the place is well connected with roads.

Mosaics, stained glass and paintings are more impressive than many places I have seen architecturally and artistically. The location is very good and you can see Lyon from a bird's eye view. We went on foot, I recommend everyone to go out by walking.

I think it is the most beautiful place of worship in Lyon and I think it is difficult to say otherwise. It is definitely a place that amazes externally and internally indeed and it can be seen from literally every corner of the city center of Lyon! It can be reached by funicular and from the hill you can enjoy a splendid view! Admission is free and it is possible to take photos.
Andrea Nori — Google review
A beautiful, ornate cathedral that I would highly recommend visiting for anyone who appreciates such places. It probably won't be quiet, as it's a big draw in the city, but it won't matter. And there is a great view from just outside the cathedral as well as a restaurant and café. Parking your bike isn't super easy, is my only criticism, as there doesn't seem to be any dedicated spaces for them. However, I was pretty easily able to put it somewhere.
Alex Jakeman — Google review
Visiting this magnificent cathedral provides an opportunity to appreciate the exquisite beauty of architecture, transcending its purely religious significance.
It is highly recommended to maintain a sense of decorum, refraining from raising your voice, and respecting the solemn atmosphere during Masses when exploring the cathedral.
Upon concluding your visit, you can savor a splendid panoramic view of the city from the nearby lookout point and indulge in a delightful coffee and snack at the outdoor café in close proximity.

While spending the day in Lyon we saw this beautiful white church high on a hilltop. We found an old funicular (one of the only four in the world) to take us to the church. The ride was unique but sadly passed through tunnels without any views. Once we got out, we saw this beautiful church both inside and out. In the crypt area, they had an exhibit about the cloth of Turin. There are also spectacular views of Lyon at the backside of the church. Definitely worth the visit if you're in the area...

This is an amazing Notre Dame! One of the best I’ve seen in France. There’s a few way to reach it, there is a metro station stop directly in front, you can climb up the steep steps and the steep hike they Jardin de rosary (which we did) or you can drive up and park nearby. Highly recommended.

Very beautiful church. The priest passing by greeted my family and I sitting in the pews and struck up a conversation in my native language, my children loved it. It was a great heart warming welcome for the children as it was their first time in Europe and inside a church.
A side note, as a visitor to any holy place, please be respectful, keep your voice down and control your children. Always make sure you are aloud to take pictures (never assume you are allowed to take pictures just because there are pictures online). While we were there there was was woman who thought that everyone in the church couldn't hear her.

An absolutely gorgeous place to visit with some incredible architecture. A great view of Lyon from above at the back of the basilica.
It was quite busy when we visited in the middle of the day, so it was not the best time to appreciate everything in a peaceful atmosphere.

About 15 mins after you cross the bridge into Old Town. It’s a long upward ascent to the Basilica, but the view at the top makes it all worth it. The architecture is beautiful and the Priests were also very welcoming when we went inside. Recommended to visit.

One of the most spectacular places to visit in Lyon during the summer. You are able to see the city of Lyon from the terrace of basilica and in the middle of the summer this place can be quite crowded. If there is no clouds the view can be amazing as most buildings starts to reflect the sunlight, making a unique view. Inside the basilica is spectacular with French architecture is showing its best of times. Good place to pray as well if you are keen on doing so.

Absolutely beautiful with amazing views of the river and the city. The funiculaire was quite busy to go up, so I walked instead. The walk was moderately challenging with lots of steps. I took the funiculaire back down, and it was much less busy on the way down. There is so much to see at the Bassilica. Check out the crypt and the chapel for Mary, too. Beautiful

A beautiful cathedral overlooking the city of Lyon. The church is a functioning place of worship so please treat the area with utmost respect. The intricate details on ceilings and walls show how much the people cherish their religion. Downstairs there's a crypt that one can visit. Don't forget to go behind the church to see a beautiful panorama of Lyon. Best way to get here is to take the furnicular.

We walked through both floors and around the Basilica and it was very amazing. Tons of extremely impressive mosaics and lots of gold. A very amazing and dramatic view. They very well explain all the mosaics and art in the hall. The descriptions are only in French so make sure you either have your translating camera or someone to read the descriptions to you if you need as they are quite interesting. The lower floor was super unique showing different countries views on the church which isn’t super common it feels.

Magnificent basilica and not a castle as it looks from afar.
Also spectacular view from the monument's terrasse. A view only beaten by Mont Martre towards Paris in my book so far.
We had the pleasure to participate to the mess on Sunday and it is also breath taking as it is full of visitors participating in the singing.

Just stunning - the highlight of Lyon for sure. They call it 'the upside down elephant' because it resembles an elephant on its back and it's strangely apt. The inside is beautiful and FREE to enter which is nice. Also really enjoyed the innovative contactless votive candle payment system. Great gift shop across the street too. Just beware the very steep hill and stairs up to the Basilica - they're no joke!

This basilica is located in the most strategic point in Lyon to get a great view of the city. Just walk around the basilica to the other side of the plaza and you will see all of Lyon in front of you. You can see the two rivers, and all the areas up to the far mountains.
For the basilica itself, I really liked the lion statue at the entrance, it's a great piece of art.
The candle stands inside are so beautiful with all the colorful candle cups.
I also liked the stained glass and paintings. I'll share some photos here.

It is beautiful but neglected.
The place is far from Lyon.
I liked the place but it is better to go in the fall because the insects are really annoying.
The animals are clean.
There are restaurants, but I do not know why they are always closed. If you have children, it is better to take your snaks with you.
In general, it is worth a try
Note:
They decorate for Halloween very nice and perfect.

Excellent day at the bird park. I was there for the second time and all the family found some interesting things to do including kids. The new area dedicated to Africa is really well presented. Another good point is that there are a lot of places to make a picnic and playgrounds for children. I also recommend the observation tower to have a good overview of the park. Finally, the bird show in the afternoon is a must see.

THE best bird park/ontological exhibit I have seen. The handlers and keepers of the birds should be commended- they are behind the scenes but they obviously care for their charges. Flamboyant Gothic-style monastery known for its ornate marble royal tombs & oak choir stalls.
A truly beautiful monastery. The vast majority of the interior is open to visit for a small entry fee. Interactive displays and videos bring the history of this great building to life. A large collection of artworks, traditional wooden toys and intricate architecture provides a pleasure filled visit for all. This beautiful little town has a lot to offer if you're cruising through the back roads of Burgundy, and the Abbey is a spectacular way to spend the day if you enjoy history and ancient buildings. Besides the ruins and restorations, there are 3D films and models to dazzle you. Don't skimp on adding the Tour des Fromages toi your visit (spoiler alert - it's nothing to do with cheese). Don't be put off by the declaration of how many steps there are to climb, the view is worth it.

This place was for centuries of incomparable importance for Western Christian spirituality. Then 90% of it was demolished by the French Revolution. And today it's a monument, an engineering college and a stud. It seems sad that local Christians apparently don't want to revive at least some small form of worship here to remind us all of the One this place was supposed to be all about (though Taizé is just up the road).

It is unfortunate that a majority of the place was dismantled and sold off.
The place is in a constant state of renovation.
There was a nice film explaining the history and the audio guide helped walk us through what was left on the place. Stepping outside and seeing where the footings are represented on the ground shows the shadow of the size of the Abby at one time. So little is left that I don’t know if the money to learn about it is worth it.

There was a 17 minute film on inside about the abbey but was all in French and because of covid we couldn't use the audio devices usually given to tourists. They should've put subtitles on. Directions throughout the abbey could've been more obvious as we had to backtrack to get back to the entrance. It was great seeing the entire history of the abbey and sad to see how much of it got destroyed. Definitely worth a visit.

The Hôtel-Dieu Museum, also known as Hospices de Beaune, is a renowned attraction in Beaune. It was originally built in the Middle Ages as a hospital and later transformed into a museum. This flamboyant Medieval hospice showcases local art and furnishings from that era. The Gothic architecture adorned with vibrant glazed tile roofs adds to its magnificence. Additionally, the establishment owns prestigious vineyards whose wines are sold under Domaine Hospices de Beaune.
Historical landmark which served as the first ever hospital in the world. The place have a rich history and a nice audio guided tour. I would say this is this is the main attraction in Beaune.

Hôtel-Dieu Museum - Hospices de Beaune is an absolute must-visit! Taking the guided tour is highly recommended to fully immerse yourself in the rich history of this place. While many flock to the region for wine tasting at the numerous châteaux, don't overlook the incredible beauty and fascinating history here. The museum provides valuable insights into the evolution of medicine and leaves you pondering how far we've come, yet how little we've advanced in some aspects. It's an incredibly interesting and thought-provoking experience that shouldn't be missed.

You'll learn about the building's history and transformation, which is entwined with that of the city. Audio-guide is included in the entry ticket. Book online in advance to avoid long queue.

We visited on a half market day via tour bus and enjoyed the area. Restrooms were not bad. There are many places to have lunch and shady spots to relax. The market packed up at 1, so get there early if you want to check it out!

The hospice is definitely worth a stop. The very detailed audio information played on demand via a special phone provided was a great addition to the basic tour. It is an amazing place that was set up by a nobleman in the 1400s.

The museum showcases the former hospital's rich history, featuring impressive architecture, vibrant tapestries, and a collection of medical instruments. Very interesting and astoundingly beautiful museum which was a hospital in the early modern age. If you are anywhere near Beaune, this is certainly worth checking out. Cheap admission includes audio tour which is available in many languages. Great trip through 16th-18th century history.

Beaune is famous for wine and this impressive former hospital for the poor. The Burgundian roofs and architecture are beautiful to see and it is famous with tourists. You can get an audioguide and explore the history of the halls. Every year in Nocember is the charity wine auction as the hospices also have their own vinyards.

Very impressive building from the 15th century. Created to provide hospital facilities to the poor, it continued to provide medical services into the late 20th century.
The price of entry includes a self- controlled audio tour about life in the Hospices through its history.

This place is amazing. Bever thought that a private own hospital could be this cozy and welcoming, especially during the revolution days. The facilities are surprisingly well preseved and protected for the visitors to know about that period of time. If it wasn't that sunny, I would love to spend more time there just to listen to the bells from the tower.

Such a fascinating building and history. I was amazed and it definitely surpassed my expectations. I definitely recommend the museum. The collection of chests was great. I was surprised by the inner courtyard, the pharmacy, the Kitchen, the main doom with its roof and the little chapel.
The Museum of Fine Arts Dijon, located in the former palace of the Dukes of Burgundy, contains major collections of western art from the 14th-19th century. After a nine-year renovation, the museum has become a work of art itself and is one of France's most outstanding museums. The Salle des Gardes is a notable exhibit featuring ornately carved sepulchres from late medieval times.
Another of the great Musee des Beaux Arts of France, originally established just before the French Revolution. Many magnificent art pieces from antiquity to the modern day. Also houses the tombs of Dukes of Burgundy. The building itself is part of the palace of the Dukes of Burgundy.

The Dukes of Bourgondy took the belfrey clock of Kortrijk and placed it on the Notre Dame at Dijon in order for the 'Jaquemart' to strike each hour of the day. But it wouldnt be the only artifact that the Dukes would take from Flanders. As the power of the Dukes rose, so as well did the cultural richness as they ordered several most reknown artist of the time to excell on their artwork. Although the French revolution destroyed the church where the richness of the Dukes was ment to survive the ages, the tombs survived so we can still witness how Klaus Sluter sculpted the 'plearants' in order to grieve for the Duke and his whife. But there is much more to see than only the medieval art. Certaibly wirthwhile the visit.

Superb museum in a historical setting (palace of Burgundian dukes). What can be better? Well, it’s also free (permanent exhibition). The museum is not too big, so your mind can digest it and the collection is really stunning- starting from Middle Ages right to the XX centuries modernism. Amazing to see all those emotions portrayed by the artists- fear, hate, love, compassion. All this go through centuries of art. Sometimes you can feel yourself in the middle of the battle or a tragic mythological scene. I truly enjoyed this museum.

Nice museum although the directions to follow for going around the museum were somewhat patchy.
Plenty of oil paintings on canvas, a good section on sculpture, covering especially on François Pompon.
The other very interesting parts were on the history of Burgundy and its four dukes.
Unless I missed it, I was surprised of not seeing anything about Gustave Effeil whom has we know built the Effeil Tower and was born and grew up in Dijon

Free entry but you need to go to the counter to get a little ticket before you cross into the galleries. I think it's just to find out where you come from for research purposes. The owl walk comes through here (see my other post) There's a small but nice green patch out the front if you need a rest.

The entrance is on the side of the large building that was once the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy. The collection spans a long period and is not so special. Sometimes you see an item that stands out but most of it you just pass.
What is impressive are the tombs of the Dukes of Burgundy which are best seen from a balcony above.
The museum is a maze of galleries with stairs and elevators everywhere. Navigation is a bit difficult
Entrance is free.

This is an excellent museum, which welcomes visitors and is set in an excellent location full of history in its own right. It is free to enter and being a non French speaker, unlike my wife, I found the English translation at the foot of most labels really helpful. The descriptions and explanations are written in a friendly and informative manner that make you eager to learn more.
My favourite discovery was about the 'mourners', a fascinating set of sculptures that accompany the tombs of Philip the bold and John the fearless. I was therefore excited to find miniatures of the mourners in the excellent gift shop, one of which now adorns my shelf at home. I can thoroughly recommend this as a must see venue.

Amazing museum in an amazing city. The museum is objectively small, only three floors, but what a chic and amazing exposition. I'm not talking about the fact that the entrance is free. This is absolutely and very important for all visitors, especially for those who go with the whole family and who want to join the works of art. And of course many thanks for this to the city. Where I was, I have not seen this anywhere else, it is unique, many thanks to the city for this ones more. Exposition from ancient times to the present day, very good logistics of rooms, very good arrangement of paintings, spacious halls - all this in general is conducive to a calm viewing of the collection.
100% recommendation!

Its free, has amazing architecture to look at and some outstanding art as well. Just for the ceilings in some rooms it is worth a visit though. Go to the top floor and onto the balcony of the dukes to look at the coffins.
The Owl of Dijon is a renowned tourist spot where visitors can explore the city and discover 22 different locations. The trail offers various attractions along the way, making it a unique experience that is highly recommended. To reach the famous owl, one must follow metal signs on the ground. According to legend, touching the stone owl while making a wish will grant it. This attraction is located near Notre-Dame Church's exterior and draws many tourists each year.
Excellent architecture, iron-work, sculptures and old buildings. This area of the picturesque Dijon is rich with local history, iconic buildings and some beautiful cobbled alleys leading through narrow walls between cathedrals, rectory and other substantial buildings. Wonderful examples of this period and worth the visit on foot.

In fact, the idea with the Owl, and the tourist routes where you are accompanied by owl, is simply ingenious. this idea, of course, is also implemented in other cities. But in Dijon, which is a larger than other cities of the region where we were, this is a real help in order not to get lost and see the main sights of the city. Owl itself accompanied us almost everywhere where we were not in this city.

The Owl trail is a fantastic way to discover Dijon. In addition to the 22 places along the route, there are tons of attractions along the way that you can get lost in. We took almost 2.5 hours to see everything because we kept stopping and wandering.
Very unique and highly recommended. Worth the few euros it costs to get the official map or app.

It is indeed an owl, an overly hyped owl, faceless and about the size of the palm of my hand that is worthy of a lot of praise as it makes way for owles pretty much everywhere in this city, and that is pretty impressive in my book.
Long live the owels!

The Fontenay Abbey, established in 1118 by St. Bernard and considered to be the best-preserved of all Cistercian abbeys, still thrives today with its historic buildings and beautifully landscaped gardens. I rented a car from Dijon, parked it about an hour and a half before the winery, looked up the hill, and saw the church and nave. My heart fluttered as I realized that I had come to Sainte-Madeleine Church. Sainte-Madeleine, which has the meaning of repentance, is said to have become the starting point for the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, and was crowded with pilgrims. When you enter through the entrance on the right side of the main building, you will find the tamban carving, one of the finest works of Romanesque style.

First discovered this gem back in the 1990s and love visiting this entire area. My advice to anyone visiting here is not to just “drive by” and miss all that surrounds this “colline éternelle”. There are several charming boutiques, restauants & auberges along the road that climbs to the Basilique, not to mention great hotel-restaurants in the greater area… you are just minutes from the beautiful Valley du Cousin (D427 between Pontaubert and Avallon). This is a wonderful place to “get lost” in France. As for the Basilique? Eh bien, if you’re looking at this on Google Maps, you already know it is well worth the visit!

One of France's most impressive monuments. Try to visit it while a choir is singing, preferably Georgian chants, the acoustics of the place are amazing. Guédelon is a remarkable project where a team of workers is constructing a medieval-style castle using original techniques and materials from the 13th century. Located in the heart of an ancient sandstone quarry, this living museum offers visitors the opportunity to witness artisans such as stonemasons, carpenters, blacksmiths, and more at work. The site also features workshops where tools and materials for the castle's construction are crafted.
An astonishing project, craftsmen are building a medieval castle from scratch using traditional methods and tools. There is ample parking. The toilet facilities, like all on offer are well maintained and clean. Visitors can wander as they please through the complex, watching craftspeople at work. The castle is only part of the attraction, nearby in the woods are medieval workshops and buildings. We did not try the restaurants, apparently the food is good.
Julius Charrett-Dykes — Google review
This place is a living museum and it is great. The craftsmen here are reconstructing a medieval castle using the same tools, materials, and methods they used in the middle ages during the reign of Philippe II.
They have been working on it for years and years, and the castle will be completed in a few years (2025 was an estimate given by a mason working there)
Around the castle you will find all sorts of workshops where they are crafting the tools and materials needed to create the castle. You will find things like a smith, a carpenter, a quarry, a mortar maker, a stone worker, a dye and paint maker, a watermill, and many more things.
The people working there are all dressed in medieval clothes, and they are happy to explain the things they're working on and teach you the techniques. It is super interesting, but you will have a hard time talking to the craftsmen if you do not speak French. There are signs all over the place in both French and English, but the staff only speak French.
You will also find more modern facilities near the entrance, such as a restaurant and a souvenir shop, and they also have a decent number of bathrooms. The place is a great place to bring kids, and you can easily spend a full day there, but keep in mind though that the ground is very uneven and not great for strollers, prams, or wheel chairs.
The restaurant is very expensive, and the servings are tiny, so I really recommend that you bring your own food. There are plenty of picnic areas at the place and you are welcome to bring your own food and drink if you prefer to do that.
Bo Selmer Hansen — Google review
It's an experimental concept that started in 1997 to recreate a 13th century Medieval castle inspired by nearby Saint Fargeau castle. And it is planned to finish around 2030 with eventually an abbey and a village to be constructed near the castle too! There is a lot of historical information and some reproduction of medieval activities that you can attend to. It can be fun and very kid friendly! 😊

Very interesting site, even if you are not a builder. A Medieval castle being reconstructed using tools and materials of the period. Everything is done on site, including stone cutting, rope making, dies, wood beams, tiles, slakes, etc. A veritable treasure trove, my second visit and always informative and enjoyable.
Nigel McKinley — Google review
This provided better insight into medieval life than do visits to actual medieval sites. The chance to watch a log being hewn into a beam by a man with a primitive ax is worth most of the price of admission, and there's much more artisanry to observe. Apart from the workmen's footwear and a few safety measures, the only anachronism I spotted was a squash in the garden. The food wasn't bad, and the beer was excellent.

This is an amazing educational and fun place to see active experimental archeology in action.
How did 13th century people build the amazing castles and cathedrals of Europe? How did they shape the stones and lift them into place? You'll see them make baskets used to carry everything from mortar to herbs and soils used to make paint pigments.
Wear comfortable shoes appropriate for slogging around an active construction site. There are signs in French and English, and some workers speak English, but the site is in France. They do explain what, why, and how they do things mostly in French (it's their country). They will try to explain in English if you ask.
Gregory Schmidt — Google review
Amazing place to visit. It takes you back in time in the 13th century. It's great to see in the 21st century a medieval construction made without modern tools nor techniques. It is also very instructive place for the kids, the guides and workers are kind, friendly and answering all your questions. There is also a restaurant in place with kind personal and simple but good food and snacks.
Krisz Edith — Google review
This amazing place is being built since 1997 with the same techniques of the XIII century. No new machinery at all!
A great place for discovering skills almost lost with the industrial revolution. You can find blacksmiths, stone carvers, wood turning (all by hand), wood carving, pottery for tiles, bowls, and much more, a watermill for making flour, horses and much more!
A great place for the kids (and adults) to discover the medieval times and how they were making objects and a castle all by hand!
Great for a picnic, but if you find yourself willing to treat yourself there is also a restaurant. Try the veg burger is very good! (And I love meat! A lot!)

An amazing place through and through. A trip back in time in both its presentation and its construction. Seeing the different jobs at work in generally period accurate attire and with era correct methodology was just as amazing to view as the castle. Only gripe is that many of the signs are in french only, forcing you to translate with your phone. It still was worth it though, and if you speak french and enjoy the medieval period, I cannot recommend it enough.

Was interesting to see how an old village would have been set up, with a blacksmith, baker, herb garden, animals being raised etc. The work on the buildings is quite good and apparently sticking to old-school methods, but a big draw card was watching it actually being done, and this wasn't happening. Theŕe were a handful of volunteers in costum wandering around but you weren't likely to see them in action. Maybe we went on a slow "work" day.

Really enjoyed my trip to Provins with friends. The tower was a great historical experience. We got to go inside (I believe we purchased tickets) and it was very cool like going back in time. It was a bit narrow so be mindful of that.

Really great 360° views of the town from the top floors. We could see all the other monuments in their grandeur. There is enough information to understand what the place was used for but the tour can be done easily in 30 minutes. The stairs to the top floor especially as a bit steep and small (understandable as they must be the original stairs), so be prepared and careful for sure.
Try to buy the discount ticket that includes 5 monuments in the town to do them all.

Interesting remaining of the flourishing France history, while not having an extremely big visiting surface it seemed to me to be much bigger on the inside than it looked from the outside. It currently costs around 4.5 euros to get in, but do not miss the pass which costs 12 euros and if you want to visit the whole city and it's monuments or places of interest it is probably worth the price. One should not miss the city center close to the tower, this one is an incursion in the old and classic French architecture and one can be transported back in time to the times of medieval era even if just for a bit of time.

Nice views. Thoughtfully restored. The videos at the end looked interesting, but the subtitles were a little hard to read from the side benches as the video was projected onto an uneven stone wall. The place and town itself is a real mediaeval jewel and great place to stop on a journey. The nearby medieval bookshop is a must see.

A beautiful medieval village and monuments for a day trip. Architecture of monuments, houses and the peaceful streets are something worth watching, while walking through the streets .
Commute - If traveling from Paris by train, do check the timings before as the train frequency is limited. May take 1.5 hrs.

Very interesting insight into medieval buildings. Be warned though of very narrow steep staircases if you want to get to the top. But the views are worth it.

for 4euro30 you can enjoy a 12th century keep. Having done lots of castle tours in scotland and ireland, this was my first non-chateau in mainland europe and well worth the stop. The medieval town of Provin surrounds this keep and if you park outside the ramparts and walk in you get a real appreciation for the who impressive the keep is.
The keep itself has lots of nooks and crannies you have to maneuver so would not recommend if you are claustrophobic.

Provins is really cool, but this tower is kind of overrated.
It is considered the best and most unique monument of the city, but it was massively underwhelming.
All it offer is a great panoramic view of the town and the neighbouring areas.. And that's it. For a 4.5 Euros entry ticket, I kind of expected more

A real step into History. Very well preserved castle in which you can climb to the top with magnificent views. Surrounded by a picturesque village with restraunts and cafes. Kids loved it to.
Château de Fontainebleau is a grand former royal residence with a rich history dating back to the 12th century. It has been expanded over time by different monarchs and now houses four museums and luxurious apartments. The chateau has played a significant role in French history, being the site of important events such as the Edict of Fontainebleau and the Treaty of Fontainebleau.
This is incredible place. Much od everything belongs to Napoleon 1st. You can see how his rooms was arranged, his familly tree, many of his personal stuff. Don’t miss jard which is also fantastic with mini lake in it.

Just amazing to say the least. The rooms and wood cravings on the walls are wonderful. There were lots of rooms to tour. We were getting tired after awhile. We got the audio guided tour, but it was hard for us to find the rooms we were in. It was probably just us. You might not have any problem. We were able to get a wheelchair for my wife. The admission for us was free. The audio guided tour was 6 Euros each. The grounds looked great from the windows, but the train that takes you around wasn't working today. Maybe it was because of it being raining day. It was worth going to, even with visiting Versailles the other day.

Very beautiful palace. Their audio guide is recommended. Very detailed! Not too crowded. There’s a parking nearby. It’s hard to find a street parking.
Your bag will be checked before entering. They provided lockers, and you can deposit your stuff.

A beautiful french chateau with amazing gardens. The best part is that you can picnic in the gardens. There is a small lake where you can ride a small boat 8€ for adults and 6€ for kids for 1 hour. The inside and outside of chateau is well maintained and the staff is very friendly. You will find a small cafe and a sandwich cart inside the chateau. We had a wonderful time here.

After Versailles and its charm, I believe this is a fantastic Chateau to visit. The hunting castle with its Impressive history about Louis XIV et Napoleon. It is the place where “Qui va à la chasse perd sa place” started.
Don’t miss les jardins. Beautiful place in a beautiful weather to spend some adorable time alone, in couples, with family and friends.

The gardens are mesmerizing, very well taken care of and the castle is a piece of art. I really recommend visiting this place.
I loved how at the end of the tour you can rent a boat and make a trip on the lake. I found this to be a very idyllic experiene where you can have a complete view of the castle. We brought a bottle of wine and a blanket and enjoyed a picnic as there is a locker room where you can leave your belongings with individual cells.

This may be a little biased as Napoleon is a very fascinating person to me, but I must say that this place was absolutely stunning. The building itself is huge and all of the rooms avaliable to the public seem to be in their original form. The gardens outside are stunning as well and I will have to come back some time to explore the rest.

Château de Fontainebleau - Palace of Fontainebleau ❤️ The King Napoleon have enjoyed his life. so much of stuff, battles and history. not far from Paris, to spend a day around the garden and the Palace 🪴🪴🪴🪴🪴 (The medieval castle and subsequent palace served as a residence for the French monarchs from Louis VII to Napoleon III. Francis I and Napoleon were the monarchs who had the most influence on the Palace as it stands today.) 🍀🍀🍀

We opted to go see the Chateau instead of Versailles due to time restraints and we are so glad we did. The Chateau is lesser known so there were no lines, no wait times, it was perfect because we were alone the majority of the time while we got to explore. The town of Fontainebleau is also super cute and fun to walk around.

What a fantastic chateau to experience. The gorgeous rooms where King Louis III was born, the Marie Antoinette bed that she never got to sleep in, the amazing halls and chambers of over 800 years of France’s kings and queens who lived there. I enjoyed it much more than Versailles and easily spent in half a day. Unfortunately more than half of the buildings were closed and the Musée Chinoise was not open and the Golden Gate was under renovation.
Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte is a stunning 17th-century chateau surrounded by formal gardens, offering a remarkable blend of architecture and natural beauty. The interior is steeped in history, with well-preserved decor elements that transport visitors to the XVIII century. The audio guide provides an engaging tour, complementing the overall experience. A highlight is the impressive kitchen, adding to the chateau's allure. Visitors can also enjoy dining at the on-site restaurant and bar area.
Beautiful and well maintained chateau. The building architecture really amazing. This chateau inspired King Louis XIV built Versailles. Have been here very long time ago.

Many people think this is the most beautiful chateau in France. There ia a parking just in the front gardens close at 7 pm but the last access to the chateau is at 4:45. We arrived at 4:30 and it was just for us nobody was there the parking was empty and only a small group of people in the castle. Highly recommended.

It was a great experience to be out in the French countryside and learn a bit of history without the massive crowds similar to Versailles. Taking a golf buggy around the grounds was a fun way to see everything and take pictures as quickly as you can. Food was very traditional French fare in the restaurant, which was an experience by itself (Andouille sausages, for example).
A must for anyone who wants to experience chateaus without being overwhelmed by the crowds.

Better than Versailles in my opinion. Gorgeous, very well cared for, the staff are pleasant, and the audio tour is a theatricality done history which is quite well executed. Also, way less crowded than Versailles and other places. A reasonably priced cafe and you could actually have a picnic. Highly recommend! I've spent a lot of time in France and it gets my top recommendation.

Beautiful house with a fascinating but sad history. A lot of passion went into planning this house and gardens. We spent an extra 5 euros to go up to the dome where we could look out. I recommend this if you are agile. The spiral staircase to the top is narrow. My mom is 85 and she did it, though. Spectacular views at the top.

How there are not more visitors at this chateau is completely beyond me, it is unquestionably superior to so many of the larger chateaus that receive more visitors. It is such a marvel of architecture and the way it compliments the gardens is perfection. The inside of the house is full of history with a good tour.
A walk to the Hercules statue is an absolute must and not too far. The view from the statue down over the chateau is incredible and really gives perspective.
The little kiosk outside does lovely crepes as well!

We visited Parc de Felines whilst on holiday, as our daughter loves cats - she was not disappointed, and neither were we! We saw so many beautiful animals, living in large enclosures with freedom to roam - we are very glad we got to experience seeing them all. It was a fascinating day. We also went to Monkey World, which was quieter and smaller, but ran out of time to see the parrots. The train ride and the 4D cinema at Parc de Felines are both well worth visiting. The staff were polite and helpful, despite us being far from fluent in French. Would recommend this place to anyone!

Park is well organised but the map given to visitors needs improving as it has a bunch of logos on it but no legend for those logos.
The train is quite good.
The tiger enclosure looks small and the tiger a bit sad. One of the smaller cats seemed a bit out of sorts and kept going around in circles. The lion enclosure is quite big which is nice to see but they are a big group.
The lemur enclosure was interesting. The guide told us there were about 7 lemurs that were excluded from the main group because they had been touched by visitors. You see in the enclosure the lemurs are friendly and walk around visitors to say hello and come right up close without barriers. One even jumped on a baby stroller so it is very easy to touch them. I was so stressed out the whole time someone would touch these curious lemurs and they would be pariahs. Why did the park not take this risk into account when designing the enclosure? You cannot trust all visitors to behave. There needs to be protection between visitors and the lemurs, like glass or a barrier.
The monkey enclosure was super cool I have to say. And I really enjoyed the talk.
We also went to the parrot park which is a 10 minute walk. It was quite nice.

I would definitely recommend this place for family trips.
There are a few food stands and one restaurant which have kid-friendly menu (sausages, hot dogs, waffles, ice cream, fries, etc). Of course there are toilets, which were quite messy when I visited this park.
Also, you can ride a train around the park every 30 minutes for free!
Another fun thing is the free 4D cinema, which is right next to the train station. The short movie was quite boring (for me, as an adult), but the kids liked it.
And of course, there are many felines. They are categorized by their original continents. And there are also lemurs :).
Overall, it was a pleasant visit.
PS: please!!! make more of mamul souvenirs! I love manuls, and I was quite disappointed about the lack of souvenirs with their faces.

A very good alternative to a day at Euro Disney for those who don't like rides, yet in easy reach should you be dropping off those who do. We were impressed at the scale of the Parc - lots to see, and no hurry to do so. Recommended to see the goats early (buy the bag of popcorn but keep it very high, and expect them to calm down only when the bag itself is empty and eaten!), then take the train ride to get a sense of the scale of the place, plus some of the cats are best seen from the train. Then go explore on foot, taking time to locate the cats where they are well camouflaged. If needed, there is a train stop at the farthest edge from where you can let the train take the strain on the way back. The ride back has an educational element and (spoiler) some sounds effects. Especially noteworthy are the very cute Lemurs and the pride of lions at the far end of the park, which can be very well seen from the impressive walkway and towers. For those whose French is not yet perfect, there are very good bilingual signs to help the English speakers understand the detail. A great day out. PS: There is a related park focussed on monkeys, a short walk away: see photo for price list for visiting just the cats or monkeys too.

The big cats have very spacious places to stay. As a result, they are sometimes difficult to spot, but that adds to the safari feeling ;) Take the time to see everything, for younger kids it can be a lot of walking. There is also a train that allows you to see many of the big cats. To see the little cats you have to take the walking route. Overall it took us about 4 to 5 hours to see everything.
All animals have shelters where they can hide well if they want to, for this purpose houses and night pens have often been built for the small cats where you as a visitor have a good view. In the middle of the day they use these places to rest.
The cats I've seen looked healthy and showed no signs of stress or boredom.
On the signs at the enclosures you will find fun and useful information about the animal species and also the names of the animals that live in that enclosure.
In the petting zoo you can feed the goats popcorn, and you can also feed the carp that swim around the lemur island with this.

Great park, we have been here twice. It’s a quite natural parc without a lot of artificial stuff. Animals seems very healthy and relaxed here. Be careful if you want to see everything, taking the train is not the best option, and walking will require at least 3 hours to see everything. It’s very tiring.

Great zoo with plenty of space for the animals, the train ride is helpful to see the extent of the park as it passes the large enclosures.
There is a 2 Park / 1 day ticket available with the adjacent primate Zoo, and a 2 day ticket can be purchased for a small fee. Well worth a visit, just make sure you bring a camera with a long lens! :-)
Disneyland Paris is an entertainment hub that comprises of family-friendly rides, shows and costumed characters. The complex also includes hotels for a complete experience. Visitors can take advantage of weekday visits for photogenic opportunities while weekend visits offer more fun activities. Purchasing tickets in advance provides access to special offers, promotions and costumes for children and seniors. Easy transportation options are available through Google maps or other sources.

If you go on a weekday, you will still be able to take a lot of good photos. If you go on weekends there will be more fun activities.
In terms of buying tickets, you should buy tickets in advance to enjoy special offers or promotions or dresses for children and the elderly.

First of all this is a really great park, I visited twice and every time it is like a dream come true. Excellent decorations, extraordinary and fast rides, literally one of the best places on earth no joke. Anyone can find something in this park that will blow their mind and be their thing. Anything in there is possible.
Now the part that I am very unfortunate to write about, since my first visit there, something huge happened. They cancelled the fast-pass. To those who don't know it's a free way of "scheduling" yourself on a later hour so you can enter within 10 MAX. What they did instead is crazy (understandable because of financial reasons), you can pay 8€ per ride in order to get in quickly OR pay 1 7 0 € for a fast pass in multiple rides, that's wrong! So what? Now I can enjoy the park fully by paying almost twice the price of a ticket! Queues on a very normal weekday in September were between 40-70 minutes per ride, imagine wasting 4 hours just on standing! A not so financially stable family that would dream about coming here would waste a third of the day of a very expensive ticket on standing???
Well, I guess that is what helps Disneyland financially but that's devastating. I enjoyed it anyway and recommend you to visit and experience a one in a lifetime experience.

Fantastic experience, except restaurants and toilets are very bad and dirty. Parc is so clean, very impressive.
Lots of guests and queues, but opportunity to buy fast track will make you skip the lines.
Brings lots of snacks for the queues, if you have small kids.
You can bring your own lunch and soft drinks to save money, there are benches where you can enjoy your brought food. And believe me the food there isn’t good at all so bring something with you like grab and go.
Download the Disneyland app to have a map on your phone, where you can easily filter, whether you are looking for a toilet, a show or restaurant.
In the Disney app you can also see waiting times, so it isn’t necessary to download the waiting time app. I recommend that you do research in advance, so you have an idea of what you would like to see. For instance there was 90 min waiting for having a picture with a princess.
If you only have one day, I read that you should go for the Disneyland park. But I see why, they recommend that you use several days, as you spend a lot of time standing in lines.

7th trip to Disney Paris, and I still love it. ❤️ The park is so beautiful well maintained the staff work tirelessly to keep it so tidy. Our favourite time to visit is November with the Christmas decorations, but this January trip was dry clear and beautiful. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The meal we had at the ratatouille restaurant was wonderful. I honestly can't find and fault. There was some rides down for maintenance but to be expected in the quiet season. We will be back!

Simply an amazing place. If you want to see a significant part of the park when you arrive, you should reserve at least 1 full day. If you want to participate in all activities, I recommend you get a priority pass. Otherwise, you'll be waiting too long in line. Be aware that you will be standing in line for at least 1 hour for popular activities. Pass priority tickets have separate entrances and you won't have to wait more than 10-15 minutes. Don't think it's a place for kids, there are more adults than kids and you will have a great experience.

Great couple of days at Disneyland Paris. You can easily do both parks over 2 days. I can recommend the Tower of Terror, Thunder Mountain, Phantom Manor, Ratatouille ride and Pirates of the Caribbean. If you suffer from motion sickness I would seriously avoid Star Wars hyperspace mountain, I have never felt so sick from a ride before! It is just too quick for the short sharp bursts and your head gets rattled round a bit between the shoulder pads. April was a good month to visit and didn’t have to wait long for the rides. The park was clean, plenty of places for food and drink but it is just the same food repeated in the different cafes. Merchandise is pricey so make sure you save up!! For the park tickets I used a website called Attraction Tickets who were cheapest, easy to order and got them to download to my phone within 10 minutes. Hotel - we stayed at Adagio Serris Val d Europe which is only a 15 min walk or free shuttle buses stop outside. I will definitely be staying at this hotel again and the surrounding area is brilliant and includes a shopping mall and designer outlet! There is direct transport from centre of Paris and then from park to airport. You couldn’t ask for more!

Mehhh….
For starters what I can say is, the lines were extremely disorganized when it came to entering the park. We purchased a one day ticket and boy I felt like it was their first day doing this. Anyway once inside it was beautiful and “magical.” The employees were not so polite and felt like they just wanted to do their job and go home.
The app was such a huge help and I also paid for a few rides premier access. (So completely worth skipping the lines to some rides.) The parades were very cool and I think that was my kids favorite thing at Disney. Be prepared to pick a spot at least an hour ahead to get a good view, as people start lining the street very early prior to the parades. If you forget your portable charging box (as I did) they have a charging room by the buzz light year ride. It’s actually inside of the location where the buzz light year restaurant is.
We brought a few snacks and drinks in our backpacks, but I also purchased several meals and desserts. I personally felt like the food wasn’t that expensive and was edible especially when you have been walking around the park all day. Amazing food, no, good food for hungry people, yes.
Overall I can cross this off my list and say we visited. Would I return again, absolutely not.

Despite it being very busy, I had such an amazing experience. Every cast member I interacted with was delightful. Everybody seems so happy to be there. We went on Monday and Tuesday (no holiday) and queues varied from 20-50 minutes, which was quite alright. Even if you're not doing rides, the park is great to walk around in. There's always something to see and you're really never bored.
I had some very bad interactions with guests, they can be quite inconsiderate and rude at times. But that is of course not the park's fault. Be prepared to encounter some selfish people though 😅
Prices were high, as was to be expected. But I must say that some things were strangely priced. I purchased a medium sized plush for €26 when there were minis retailing for €20, to give an example. The food was surprisingly good! Nothing to write home about, but I didn't expect this great quality.
I was very sad to return home and I'm already considering booking my next trip!

Went there a few Christmas’ ago but always forgot to post my review.
What can I say other than, I absolutely love this place. Everything is magical, everything is beautiful!
We took fast pass cards and slept at one of the hotels there, everything went perfectly and smoothly.
I came back a few times after that and everything still is as magical and amazing.

We had booked a 2-day ticket for both parks in advance, then spent a full day at Disneyland and a full day at Studios. Beautiful and quite exhausting. Good preparation is important - snacks, water, comfortable shoes and sunscreen. Plan your time wisely, it can gey very exhausting. Food and drinks are available in small snack bars or restaurants (don't forget to make reservations), prices for them are quite high.
There are a lot of stores with souvenirs, so plan a little extra money.
Queues at the rides can be very long, sometimes up to and over an hour. We occasionally bought the paid Premier Access to skip waiting time. A quick option can also be the Single Ride entrance, you don't sit next to your partner, but you don't have to wait in line as long.
After 9 p.m., the queues get much shorter. If you don't necessarily want to watch the fireworks every night (or are satisfied with back rows), it's the best option to wait in line only for a short time.
Make nice memories and have fun!

Disneyland Paris is a magical wonderland that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked through its iconic gates, I was transported to a world of enchantment and joy.
The attention to detail throughout the park is truly remarkable. Whether it's the dazzling Cinderella Castle or the whimsical Main Street, USA, every corner of Disneyland Paris is a visual feast. The park's cleanliness and well-maintained grounds add to the overall charm.
Now, let's talk about the attractions – they are nothing short of spectacular. From thrilling rides like Space Mountain to beloved classics like It's a Small World, there's something for everyone. The quality and creativity behind each experience are evident, and it's easy to see why Disneyland Paris is a top-tier theme park.
The staff at Disneyland Paris are the real magic-makers. They are friendly, helpful, and genuinely committed to creating memorable experiences. Whether you're interacting with characters, asking for directions, or dining at one of the park's restaurants, the staff's dedication shines through.
Disneyland Paris isn't just for kids; it's a place where people of all ages can relive their favorite Disney moments and create new memories. It's a world where dreams come true, and I can't recommend it enough. If you're considering a visit, prepare to be enchanted and amazed at Disneyland Paris – it's a journey you won't want to end!

The best place for family adventure! It is our second visit of this amazing park. In my opinion it is better to take your kids about 5 years, so you can fully ride on the best attractions in the park and get high emotions of being together with your kids. In the end of September it was really comfort weather, but so crowded. So for the future it is better to buy priority access at least on several attractions.
All staff work on a high level, they are really doing their job great!
Absolutely we'll be back in future!

This place is amazing! I really enjoyed it, although I'm an adult. It brings all my childhood memories back! One day is certainly not enough to discover the whole park! I recommend at least 2 days tickets, especially with smaller children. The queue could be very long at some attractions, but it worths every penny! The whole place is magical! 🥰😍

Brilliant trip! Two adults and two kids (3 yo & 6 yo). Prepare to wait an hour or more for popular rides. Characters don't walk around like they used to. They had session times they entered for photos. Mickey Mouse was 90 mins at one point.
Xmas is magical there and the parade is not to be missed. Just wrap up warm. Expect to burn a hole in your pocket.
Toad in the hole did fish and chips. Very good food for the price and pretty good service as well. Certainly need two days for one park - one day to queue for the rides and another go walk around it all.
Must do - it's a small world and Peter Pans flight.

Had an absolute blast with my Family.
Key rides were absolutely amazing, especially when you are travelling with an Autistic child... They really were very helpful and understanding. The only disappointment was the merchandise shops..
Gutted as I wanted to buy my daughter something special for her birthday, she wasn't thrilled either by the selection.
Walt Disney area was great and so was Disney Park... Not cheap but really enjoyed ourselves

After being in Tokyo and Orlando it was not not impressive. The Sleeping Beauty Castle was very nice and seemed refreshed much the park seemed in need of a bit of cleaning up and touch up. Overly crowded. No chance to get reservations for a sit down restaurant a week in advance and the lines were between 45-90 mins. Just not a value added experience. When we have to line up over an hour in advance for a show this is not worth the money. The village is way past it's prime and needs the construction that was ongoing badly. Recommend waiting at least a year before coming. Two day should be enough but the line delays were crazy. Positive note. Staff is always amazing and the night drone show and castle display were the highlight of the trip. Find your piece of asphalt early....

It's a beautiful park with a lot of attractions. A lot of attractions have a long waiting time. For kids under 3 years old not a lot to do or see, I think. If you want to save money bring food from home. The app is very nice to know where to go and how long to wait on the lines. We were there on a day during the week in March. The end of the day it was raining a lot. There are also stroller to rent. I recommend buy tickets before and if possible sleep there one night for the whole attractions to be worth complete.

Huge place. Impressive rides but lots and lots of people, even on an off day. So be Prepared to wait in lines and such. Can get some premium passes if you want to skip them. But the rides are amazing. The setup is spectacular!

First time I’ve been to a Disney theme park and I was thoroughly impressed. The park is kept meticulously clean and the build quality of the rides and theme park is the highest I’ve ever seen.
We paid for the VIP tour and our tour guide Virginie was amazing. She managed to cram in many rides and shows for us in the one day. She was also able to book a restaurant reservation for us despite it showing as fully booked on the website. I highly recommend the premier pass or vip tour because the lines are really long.
The park is crowded but manageable. Most of the park is suitable for young kids. They have a lot of family friendly rides. They don’t have as many rides for adults. The park is very stroller friendly with many ramps for use.

So far we've been to 3 different Disney Parks and this is our second favorite! The design of the park in some ways is way prettier than the park's in the U.S.
They have two options of pre-paid fast passes if you'd like.
It's pretty easy to get to from Paris.
Tips:
*Make sure to check out the Dragon under the castle 😉
*Food: If you didn't know - Disney parks are expensive! Yes, Even the food. a tiny pizza, salad, drink and ice cream cost 16€ The food in the park disappointed us. In the US, food is a big part of the Disney experience. I read online that they have Dole Whip, but they don't. We looked! We were very frustrated since no one warned us that even though the park closes at 11:00 p.m., the stores and kiosks with food and snacks close at 20:00-21:00!!!! We found ourselves looking for food. It was very upsetting.

Very nice place . Kids and adults will love it.
Very big waiting times for popular attraction 30-40 minutes so you need more than one day to visit Disney park . I recommend using the app to check waiting time before going to an attraction and also to find it faster . Lot’s of restaurants and shops so you will find everything you need .

Disneyland Paris is truly a magical destination that exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we entered the park, we were transported to a world of enchantment and wonder. The attention to detail in every aspect, from the stunningly designed attractions to the friendly and accommodating staff, was outstanding. The parades and shows were nothing short of spectacular, leaving us with unforgettable memories. The food options were diverse and delicious, catering to every taste. What sets Disneyland Paris apart is its ability to make everyone, young and old, feel like a kid again. It's a place where dreams come true, and we can't wait to return.

Disneyland is a magical Place, it transmit excitement and happiness to both children and adults. You can visit it whenever, although I have to admit, it’s a bit better during the summer season when days are a bit sunnier and you can stay for longer (closing time 11 pm). There are a few queues, for both the entrance and the games. Just have patience and enjoy the cool scenes that are all over the park. Waiting time for games can go from 5 minutes to 1 hour, you can either check the app to see what games have the least waiting time, or you can get the pass that let’s you skip the line (the ticket is way more expensive). We only stayed for one day and I believe it’s enough to visit the park. There are lots restaurants and souvenirs shops. You can even buy a pop corn basket, which you can refill at the pop corn stands. Most of the games are very chill and for children, but there are a few that are fun and thrilling. If you are staying in Paris, there is a train from Gare the Lyon that takes you exactly at the entrance of the park. Overall I recommend at all ages. Children have fun and we adults enjoy the feeling of being children again, at least for one day :).

The rides were fun. The lines were long. I also saw purple guy there. I got a cowboy themed drink. It had ice cream. I liked the firework show the best, the crowd was so full though and I am tiny so I couldn’t see that well.

It was nice experience. Great place to visit.
Roller coasters are not crazy at all. Most of them are designed for younger customers. Liked the Hollywood Hotel lift.
Huge queues for the coasters.
Nice theatrical performances.
The food inside is super expensive.
The souvenir shop on any corner.
The train station is located literally on the park area. 9 minutes 1 stop from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
The park itself is super friendly for families. It was nice to be in such the environment!
The night show was absolutely stunning. Highly recommended!!

Amazing experience! The magic there is real! If you get a day pass for 2 parks you can visit Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studio - you can enter after 45 minutes again as many times as you like during that day, from one park to another! Entrance to the shops and Disney Village is free - you have a middle area where you can shop at Disney Store even without having bought a ticket! I found that helpful!
The dancing parades they do are so lovely! Will definitely visit again! ❤️✨🧚🦄

We visited here on New years Eve. For a family experience, i would highly recommend it. However, it's not without its drawbacks.
Firstly, it is a hell of a lot of walking when here from open to close. There is a lot of standing for queues, so make sure to have comfy clothes and shoes on. It can be cold in winter months, so bring a coat that you can easily remove if you get too hit in a queue.
Make sure to prepare for paying a lot for food or sneak your own in. They do tell you no picnics allowed in side the park. But it is easy to stash sandwiches in.
People queue up for events hours early, so either be prepared to do the same or get a bad spot for them, i.e. parades, fireworks, and so on.
Rides are not adult centric, so there is not a big adrenaline boost from this park. The park is not for that, really it's for the kids. They will love the experience, and two of the coasters are great fun, thunderloop, and hyperspace.
Parking is easy enough, costs a pretty penny, though.
The fireworks show was fantastic, as was the new years ones too.
Have a great time if you do go!

Spent a day at The Happiest Place On Earth!
I visited on a Sunday, early April. The queues weren't crazy, plenty of rides we could get on within 10 minutes (pirates of the Caribbean, Cars, etc).
The Disneyland app is well worth downloading. Live updates for queue times, the map is very useful too.
Plenty of food options (including several local French cuisines).

Parc Walt Disney Studios is one of the two theme parks that make up Disneyland Paris, featuring areas dedicated to movie and TV related attractions. It may not be as large as the main park, however it offers rides more suitable for younger children such as the popular Cars ride. The Hollywood Tower and Ratatouille are considered to be two of the main attractions in this park, which boasts a beautiful setting and aims to create an atmosphere reminiscent of Walt Disney's production studios.
Not as big as the main park but I found this to be better for my 2 year old as the rides were more to his liking and he really enjoyed the Cars ride, he had to go on it countless times. Unfortunately the section where they did the stunt show wasn’t open which was a shame as my son would have loved that show but he enjoyed it nonetheless.

This is not my first amusement park and I have something to compare. If we consider that this park is 30 years old, then a lot can be done indulgence. Compared to Disney World in Orlando, this Disneyland in Paris is nowhere near.
There are a lot of old attractions, with old chairs, against which the head beats very hard during the attraction. I think that for children under 10-12 years old it can still be interesting. The attraction Flight to the Moon, converted into Star Wars, looks unconvincing and ridiculous. We visited 2 parks here. Here are the attractions that are definitely worth a visit: Hotel Hollywood, Ratatouille, Cars, Star Tour, Pirates, RC Racer, Riverboat, Parachute drop.
Convenient location, right next to the metro station. There are fountains with drinking water in the park.
Park security is good. We had a Swiss folding knife with us, which was not allowed at the entrance. We left it in the luggage room at the metro station.

Amazing park, they are currently constructing a lot so that does decrease the experience a little. I would suggest waiting for the construction to be finished.
They are also building Frozen Land. Nice to see that this park is finally getting some love from our American friends.

It is not the main park but in my opinion it contains two of the main attractions of Disneyland Paris, the Hollywood Tower and the Ratatouille.
The park is very beautiful and the atmosphere it intends to create is that we are in the Walt Disney Studios.
You can easily visit in the morning and in the afternoon go to the main park.

Very nice experience.
I suggest to buy the fast line pass. Because the lines and amount of people are huge. You can only enjoy 4 or 5 of the games because of the crouds. The least game to wait for without the pass is 60 minutes to 70 minutes. I regret not having the pass.

You feel the magic as characters walking through the park show as much attention to adults as to the little ones. Everyone is special here!

Great short weekend getaway!! A couple of things:
1. You must buy your tickets in advance
2. It’s not too big and not too small
3. Disneyland Paris has their own champagne and it is a must try for all adults!!!
4. Wear good walking shoes because you’ll be walking a ton!
5. The food and snacks are a must try treat
6. It’s mostly in French (for people that are curious) very little things have other language options
One of the happiest places on earth!!!

I'm a huge Disney fan and have been to both US parks multiple times, so it bothers me to not give 5 stars. The reason for withholding one is due to the size. It's a very small park and you can do everything in about a half day. Plans to add lands and expansions will help. What is there is really nice and the Avengers coaster is a lot of fun. It's a nice park, just not one you'll spend a while day at.

It was great to re-live my childhood while being here. What astonished me was attention to detail and absolute perfection in terms of atmosphere. Few rides broke down, which is understandable. I had only one problem with the park, and it's a big one: despite the astounding atmosphere, I was quickly and often disillusioned by cash-grab attempts at every turn. Official merchandise is ridiculously expensive to a point where I wouldn't even consider buying anything. Queues at every ride kept reminding me that this is the punishment for not paying an additional 200€ for Premier pass. I would have definitely left more money in the park if everything wasn't so ridiculously expensive.

I visited this park in November and in January.
I can say it's the worst disneypark. I wouldn't recommend you pay for it unless you get it by your stay in the hotel.
The attractions are not well mentioned, and you can do everything you like in the afternoon.
There are only 2 attractions that are worth to visit, these are ratatouille and the Hollywood tower. Spiderman can be fun, but I can't say it's something special. They avengers rollercoaster is not a piece of art, but it can be fun to do (for the coaster itself and the iron man inside).
I really did not like the crush coaster. It feels like the biggest self insult of disney. Their are like 2 themed areas inside the coaster. The rest of the coaster is half black and absolutely not disney quality but more that of a cheap park.
What about the Marvel extension? It's.. pretty underwhelming, all I can say.
That you can see some heroes is fun. Also, the Avengers rollercoaster looks fun at night.
The park feels like a full identity crisis. I also hope that this will be solved with future extensions.
But for now... the park is only worth visiting for the shows, ratatouille and hollywood tower.

LOVED. Definitely buy tickets in advance. I would also really recommend buying the rapid pass because I was waiting in line for so long. It is okay without it... Just make sure to have a charger with you. Also!! Bring a backpack. When you go on rides, you will have to put your belongings behind your legs so the bigger the better.
