We cannot recommend Colin highly enough. He is knowledgable, friendly, and has great relationships with the wineries we visited. A private tour with him in his very comfortable vehicle is worth every Euro and more. We purchased 30 bottles that day, and he arranged for all the shipping. As a horticulturist, his insights into the process of wine making were fascinating and added a great deal to the experience. It's a day we'll always treasure. Thanks Colin!

Colin put together a wonderful day visiting 2 wineries and a wine festival for my wife and I. All something we would not have been able to do on our own, both not speaking French and not knowing the area. He was great to work with for booking and planning and is handling all the coordination getting our wine back to the states. If you are planning a trip to the Loire Valley and are looking for some excellent wine, I would definitely recommend working with Loire Valley Wine Tour!
George Lucas — Google review
Well established English language wine tour guide ; a specialist in Loire Valley wines who can also show you castles and châteaux, markets and other features of this delightful region. Covering the Loire Valley from Saumur to Sancerre.
Colin Elliott — Google review
Excellent tour of the central Loire. Colin took us to some great wineries to taste wines we would never see in the US. Very well versed on the local terroir and methods of winemaking. He was also very helpful in shipping wine back to the US. Definitely the highlight of our trip to France.
Andrew Barnhorst — Google review
Colin was an amazing guide - friendly and knowledgeable with an impressive roster of wineries for us experience. He made shipping our purchases home a breeze. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Loire Valley.

This was a fantastic tour, and we can't thank Colin Elliott enough for the amazing day he gave us! We booked the Chenin Blanc Tour with Colin as part of our honeymoon. We're so glad that we did. Every place we visited was special, and Colin felt like a longtime friend even though we just met him that day. He drove more than an hour from his home to personally pick us up and even adjusted the time he dropped us off to make sure we made it in time to make it for our balloon ride that ended up being postponed from the day before. We had waited more than a year and a half to finally take this tour because of Covid travel restrictions, and it was definitely worth the wait. Colin was gracious with us every time we had to reschedule and we're so glad we got to do it as planned.
The wines were incredible, and we got a lot of tastings throughout the day. We also were able to buy bottles at all of our stops at incredibly low prices compared to what you'd pay for similar quality French imported options in the United States. We mostly drank whites but were offered some reds as well. Every wine was special in its own way.
Colin made the ride between each of our stops fun with great information about the region, lots of interesting facts about the wines in the area, and good humor. His relationships with the owners of each winery helped us get great access inside the cellars and unique opportunities to see work being done on site. Our adventure took us inside the the caves of Montlouis, to the tasty sparkling wines at Monmousseau, to an excellent lunch in downtown Montrichard, to a family-run vigneron at the Caves du Pere Auguste, to beautiful Chateau Moncontour in Vouvray. It was a day full of laughs and tastes we'll remember for a lifetime.
You'll get to the heart of what the Loire Valley is all about if you book. Highly recommended. Thank you again, Colin!

We spent 2 lovely days with Colin at different regions in the Loire Valley. We are far from experts when it comes to wine and Colin took extra time to explain many of the processes of wine making. His professionalism and knowledge of wine and the region was 5 star first class! On our second day we visited Château de Chenonceau and Colin was as knowledgeable with the history of this Chateau as he was with Loire Valley wines and wineries. Paris was the end of a 13 day Europe trip for us, and the 2 day trips we spent with Colin were the highlight of our vacation. We look forward to coming back and visiting more regions with Colin in the very near future. Cheers!

My husband and I had a wonderful time with our guide Colin on our June 10th wine tour around the Loire Valley. Colin was very quick to respond to our booking request and the process was very simple to get everything organized as he took care of everything. We were picked up at our hotel promptly in a very clean BMW SUV and had the opportunity to walk around a local village, get some history and see a château before our first winery visit. Colin was very knowledgeable on the local area, history and of course wine. I we had a charming lunch at a local French restaurant. At our second Winery were able to walk around the attached property and château…there was even a super friendly winery cat who walked by for some petting! For both of us, the absolute best part of the day was going to a local wine festival which was something we would have likely never found on our own! Being able to try wines from 20+ producers was a great experience and Loire valley wine tours organizing our wine shipment back to the States. Colin was extremely personable and created the best day as part of our trip to France. We highly recommend Loire Valley Wine Tour!

We did a two-day tour of the Loire Valley with Colin and it exceeded our expectations! He took the time to ask us what we were interested in tasting and/or seeing. Based on our response, Colin created a personalized itinerary to ensure that we got to make the most of our stay. We spent the first day in Chinon and Bourgueil and the second day in the Touraine. Colin's knowledge of the wine-making process is exceptional and his personal relationships with the local winemakers is sure to make your experience a one-of-a-kind. An added bonus is the extra service he provides for shipping the wines you purchase while on the tour back home to you. He takes care of all the customs paperwork which made the entire process stress-free. I cannot recommend the Loire Valley Wine Tour enough. We went on several wine tours throughout France and this one is unmatched. I highly recommend this to everyone visiting the Loire Valley!
Carianne McCarthy — Google review
We took two private tours with Colin: one to Sancerre and one to Chinon. Both were outstanding. Colin’s knowledge of the area, it’s wines and it’s history was excellent. He was able to get us access to outstanding wineries and was a great person to spend two days with. Our group of four seasoned wine region travelers all agreed the tours were fabulous.
ZooParc de Beauval is a conservation-focused zoo with an extensive breeding program for endangered species. The zoo houses a variety of exotic animals such as big cats, pandas, primates and manatees. Visitors can enjoy free Wi-Fi and take in scenic city views while staying at the nearby 5min du Zoo de Beauval accommodation in Saint-Aignan. The highlight of the experience includes watching breathtaking bird shows and attending special feeding sessions of the big cats.
An absolutely magnificent, huge zoo. Well maintained and well looked after animals. Friendly staff and zoo keepers.
I recommend at least a two-day visit.
Chrissi H — Google review
Really big with a huge range of animals and exhibits so prepare for lots of walking. Can get busy so plan for a full day, closes at 20.00 but most have left by 18.00 so you get a good couple of hours to revisit your favourites close up.
Otherwise, a 2 day visit is great value.
Food and drink of good quality, and fair pricing.
Only negative was that one zone (the one with the dome) has almost no translations to English like in the other areas.

Awesome zoo,
Animals appear taken care of.
Lots of food options within the zoo itself.
Prices are reasonable.
The Pandas are one of the main attractions.
We bought tickets in advance
Lots of parking

This is the best zoo I've been to. It's definitely a must try !!! Some very beautiful species to see.
Make sure to see the bird show, it's actually breathtaking.
Stick around at the end of the day for a special feeding session of some of the big cats. This was definitely memorable.

One of the best zoos I have seen. The sheer amount of animals they have is impressive. We spent more than six hours there and have barely seen all animals. There is a cable car running from on side of the zoo to the other that gives you a good view and helps getting from one side to the other. The compounds of the animals seem to be larger than in other zoos (that are often within a city) and some animals seem to be more active. The glass dome with the jungle inside is especially impressive due to its size. Highly recommended. You should at least spend 5-6 h here.
Jan Ciupka — Google review
Awesome awesome place. It takes more than a day to see it thoroughly. The highlights of the zoo are definitely Pandas. Though they sleep and eat, you will find them either of doing it. Also, the Birds and Sea Lion show are beautiful and thrilling to watch. Definitely recommended.
Shailesh Varade — Google review
Great zoo divided to 3 sections: Asia, regular zoo. Africa there is also a some for see and amphibious animals and a birds area. There is a lot of restaurants over there, unlike the entrance that were without any queues all restaurants that we saw had long queues between 11 to 14. There is a cable-train (free) that connects both zoo end points. Very nice and clean and well organized zoo
andrey byalsky — Google review
Absolutely spectacular - and I have seen a lot of zoos. You need at least one FULL day, preferably 2 to see everything the zoo has to offer!
What is truly special is that you feel like you are right there with the animals… and you are!!
Rana Crevier — Google review
A superb zoo, so many animals to see, we just about did it in a day, but we were shattered at the end. It was very busy, but we still managed to get a good view of all the animals. Cable car was brilliant, and lots of food outlets, we made sure we ate early to beat the rush. An amazing day!
Louise Cooper — Google review
One of the best designed zoo I have ever visited. It is huge and the path was designed so that one can go around each animals area so they have nowhere to hide from you. It’s built on a small hill and with loads of big trees and green area. Definitely worth the travel from Paris. The cable way is free and connects the two furthest points of the zoo. Strongly recommend it! Bring the whole family and enjoy!

One of the most prettiest zoo parks in the world - honestly. A lot of beautiful animals in a very professionally made and arranged enclosures.
The food is not great, but the ice cream is delicious.
We bought the ticket online, laid 35€, went on Saturday, so there was A LOT of people, so would recommend coming on a simple workday.
In the end stayed at the zoo for about 5 hours, it’s an amazing experience.

Top4 biggest zoo in the world. Very well organized. Plenty of space for the animals. You can get some intimate contact with the animals. One day visit is possible. Two-day is more relaxing.

#3 Book in advance, it gets super busy
The Catholic church of Saint-Aignan, located in Saint-Aignan, is an 11th century place of worship that deserves attention. Despite its repetitive name, it offers visitors a unique and historical experience. The church features a well-preserved crypt that provides a delightful surprise to those who explore it. Additionally, during the Christmas season, there is a beautiful nativity scene situated near the heart of the church.

(Translated by Google) A Romanesque church fortified with a tower and embellished with some alterations over the centuries. The 15th century Chapel of Miracles charmed me.
But the architectural masterpiece represented by the Romanesque crypt is worth the visit alone. This “underground church” with its ambulatory, chapels and murals has supported the weight of the collegiate church for a thousand years, and it is today in remarkable condition.
You should not hesitate to take the stairs to go up to the castle, the exterior of which is open to the public and whose location allows access to beautiful panoramas of the city and the river.

A good example of how a medieval castle would have looked and functioned. The attractive building has many interesting features such as the towers, the clockface, the courtyard and the roof timbers, which can be viewed for a very reasonable entrance price.
It is in good condition and the brickwork is very clean. You can learn about its varied history and how it housed some of the Parisian art treasures during the 2nd world war.

Wonderful smaller chateaux! More like a small fortress than a luxury palace! €6 gets you admission to this place and the Chateau de Talcy. Not too big, with a mediaeval herb garden outside.

I have only one photo of this chateau. The problem is that we had a dog. Despite the fact that we had traveled there and there was only 1 other guest in the entire chateau, they would not allow us entry because of the dog, even when we said we would keep him in his bag - this is important because they could have let us tour the gardens with the dog in his bag, but NOPE, you have a dog, you are not allowed entry and they will not offer to allow you tie your dog up outside and watch him/her while you visit. Won't return.

The Château Royal de Blois is a Middle Ages castle in the Loire Valley that offers a fascinating panorama of French architecture and history. The castle was built over 13 centuries, and famous residents have included the Duke of Orléans, the seven kings of France, Charles d'Orleans and several Counts of Blois who led the Crusades.
Beautiful Chateau with plenty of notable figures and their influences present here. The architecture varies from wing to wing, and the outside revolving staircase is a highlight. The exhibitions within felt very well-preserved and natural. Would definitely recommend stopping by this Chateau on a trip through the Loire valley.

The castle of Blois is very interesting architecture wise. It is well preserved. There is quite a few things to see inside. It is a shame that one of the building (where the café is) cannot be visited (only from the ground floor) as its ceiling is very impressive and makes us wanna see more. Staff were nice and efficient too. Its unique staircase is absolutely beautiful and worth seeing.

With a very unique design of spiral shape staircases and a combination of four different kind of construction styles from different times, the chateau presents a lovely looking. Parking there can make you headache. The underground parking lot is recommended. But do remember your slots and the exit you use. I got lost there😂 after the chateau, the royal garden is another nice place to visit. On a sunny day, with a few friends and probably your dog, definitely a nice little walk will make the day better!

If you love History, you will definitely enjoy the visit. It's linked to other Chateaus within the Loire region. It seems it's not a very popular Chateau but it's good because you can take your time to read or listen to the audio guides and take photos of the different rooms. It's worth the visit and the audio guide is recommended if you want to learn about France history. Afterwards, you can walk along the Loire river admiring the sunset if the weather is good.

Wonderful! Simply exceptional, first of all because of its beauty, very well preserved and converved and I am grateful for that, but also for the multitude of exhibits inside the castle. Interesting castle.
Interesting to see and understand all the changes done to the building and the architecture trough the age.
This castle has been the central scene of an important turning point in the French history at the end of the XVIth century in the struggle between Catholics and Protestants. One of ours room is dedicated to this event.
The visit with the interactive tablet is just perfect.

Hidden in plain site, after seeing some of the key larger, more famous château sites I wasn’t sure this would be worth it. It was. A great and interesting museum format with lots of good information. At Chambord the chapel is the largest (and plain) room. Here there are several larger rooms and wonderfully decorated. Great to see the rock carvings up close and the early museum pieces and all the returned art stolen by the nazis. Great place worth seeing.

An excellent former Royal chateau overlooking the town of Blois and the Loire River. Plenty to see giving good value for the admission price. Some younger people may not find it particularly interesting unless they are studying French history (back stories of the French monarchy for the less well educated)
The Maison de la Magie Robert-Houdin museum is dedicated to the life and work of this famous French magician. It includes displays about his stage performances and mystifying tricks that have entertained audiences for centuries.
Ideal place for the small children who are interested in magic.
Makes me sad because I realized myself too old to be happy with magic :(

Museum of Magic! Fun place to visit for kids and lovers of magic. Especially any budding musicians should visit. Several levels of displays and history of magic, including info on Robert Houdin and Harry Houdini (whose stage name was inspired by Robert Houdin). Plus a couple of fun magic shows for visitors. Well worth a visit.

I hesitated at first because I'm not a big fan of magic, but the experience completely captivated me. It is so interesting to see objects that have been used in magic numbers, so much energy charge, I absolutely loved everything. The experience is delightful and I really recommend visiting, the ticket price includes a mini magic show and at the end the store offers you a multitude of extraordinary things.

I loved this charming place and I think the price for a family of four was a bargain these days. We went on a day when it was raining so it was pretty busy but it never felt crowded. The show was really good, aimed more towards the children as you'd expect. Really nicely presented exhibitions on the history of magic, horology and Harry Houdini. It is all in French but hey, we're in France! My wife speaks schoolgirl French and I used Google translate in camera mode now and again and it was fine. The dragons are brilliant. Totally mad.

It was a rainy day on our vacation and so decided to revisit Blois as our 3 year old loved the dragon show which comes out of the museum windows every 30 minutes. We wasn't sure how the museum would be but would thoroughly recommend. A nice mix of education and interaction with the displays. Really nice 30 minute magic show. In the attic you get to practice magic. There was a really nice guide who did a mini magic show for us. Lovely!

Much more than expected here. Extra floors which are well worth seeing. An excellent and memorable show performed with humour and skill, just the right length for children. Many exhibits in this museum are interactive. A bit hot inside. Would have stayed longer if cooler upstairs but thoroughly enjoyed our time. Friendly staff in all rooms also demonstrating magic. Delicious crepes on exit with views across to the cathedral. Highly recommend.

It is very amusing and I really liked visiting this place especially when the dragons come out in the summer time. I went there several times in 1999 when I lived in Blois. I recently visited again with my wife and the plaza and surrounding area are just as beautiful as the other 5 times I went there before. If you are in Blois visit this and the Château de Blois they are worth the visit along the Loire Valley. Google doesn't seem to believe me that I was there, so I have uploaded some photos of my most recent visit.

Great main show, but all the exhibits are in French only. Yes, I know this is France but the Chateau Blois demonstrates how well several languages can be done. Unless you're fluent you wont follow the smaller show at all.
Château de Cheverny is a grand 17th-century country mansion located in the charming village of Cheverny, amidst the renowned châteaux of the Loire Valley. This captivating chateau is famous for its unique Renaissance style architecture, blending classic Renaissance and French medieval elements with influences from Italian design, courtesy of Leonardo Da Vinci. The ornate interiors and landscaped gardens, including stunning tulip gardens, make it a must-visit destination.
The most beautiful castle I've ever been to! Château de Cheverny is definitely one of the Loire Valley castles worth to visit. It is special mainly for its spectacular interior. All the rooms are fully furnished which gives the whole visit a special atmosphere.

We did it all. We took the whole package of visiting the chateau, taking a glided tour car ride around their grounds, seeing old growth trees and many types of pine, Cyprus trees and poplar trees. They have 5,000 areas and about 2,500 areas of trees are used to generate money. And lastly, we took a boat ride through the lilly pads. It was most delightful. The Chateau was in a nice setting. We went through some rooms on the ground floor and I went through the few rooms on the next floor up. There were a lot of school children visiting the Chateau. So, it made it hard to see it all. It's worth the trip to visit this 600 year single family owned Chateau!

Terrible place. Don’t understand the good reviews. Came here on a Loire Valley chateau day tour and the other two chateaus were great - this was our last stop and it was terrible.
1. Tiny chateau, it was a hot day and there was no ventilation in some parts. It was very stuffy and hot and narrow. The chateau was too crowded with people and there was a wait in the heat to see every room. When we wanted to cut our tour short and exit the tiny “chateau” the staff rudely said “non non non” and made us continue the walk through the chateau.
2. Not sure why people are praising the decor? It was full of toys and cheap decorations in bad taste. Didn’t feel historic and was definitely not beautiful. Completely ruined the experience.
3. Gardens are large and nice so perhaps that was the only pro. But also ruined by terrible toys and decor.
4. Didn’t see any dogs but other photos make it look like they’re abusing their dogs? How can you have so many dogs in such a small space?
Such a tourist trap and money grab. Definitely would not recommend.

You can spend a lot of time here. Lovely gardens, ice cream, labyrinth, and the puppies are the best part! The Chateau was cool, and spotting the Lego was fun, and the best Lego was the deer in the deer horn room. Again I could have stayed all day and watched the dogs.

Château de Cheverny is an excellent place for a day trip with family and friends. We were fortunate enough to see the Easter display. The designs and decorations in the Château and in the gardens are remarkable 👌 .
The organization at the Château was exceptionally well-managed, with a smooth flow of movements.
The café and restaurant area were also well-decorated. The ice cream served there is of the highest quality.
Overall, it is an excellent location to visit.
Thank you.

It's a very nice castle with beautiful gardens, but the interior is a little crowdie. The rooms are marvellous but small and inside access isn't always allowed. In general, there are many restrictions during the visit.
There are very modern and interesting exhibitions alongside the historical castle; during our visit there was one of LEGO creations hidden into the rooms. Very cool idea! Into the gardens there was also a sculpture exhibition, nice.

The interior was amazing and kept lots of good old furnitures and ways things were
The autumn view of fallen leaves and lake were great
The tea house inside castle is Xmas decorated and amazing! Really enjoyed the visit

Great Castle to visit. Really well staged with many of the original stuff which helps you immerse very well into the history.
The gardens are worth a long tour and the Tin-Tin exposition definetly is a must if you or your kids have grown with it.
I visited it in a very warm there and therefore, windows and blinds were closed in the castle making it very poorly ventilated and dense which make the visit s bit unpleasant at times.

Pinnacle of animal abuse! They have over 100 dogs kept in this cage. Some of the dogs has cancerous growths on their skin! Not even a spec of lawn. Look closely at the keeper you will see the whip around his neck 🤯
This property has acres of space available but the dogs still stay caged.

Absolutely beautiful home! Of the three places we visited in the Loire Valley (Chambord, Chenonceau, and Cheverny this was our favorite. It had all the history and drama, but it felt loved and lived in. The gardens were gorgeous!

Stunning! The tulip gardens were gorgeous and the whole property is beautiful. Sufficient parking close by and good restaurants in the area. We highly recommend it.
Château de Chambord is a vast, 16th-century palace that boasts multiple towers and cupolas, surrounded by a moat. The castle's history includes the cultivation of Burgundy grapes brought by Francois in 1519 and vineyards found less than a kilometre away on the Ormetrou farm until the beginning of the 20th century. The chateau has recently begun replanting its own vines and produces wine once again.
AMAZING!!! so worth going there! We loved every minute, this is the castle that The Beauty and the Beast movie was made after. Even the clock is there. It wasn't crowded and everyone was super nice and attentive. Parking was easy and it's close to the entrance. You can take as many pics as you like and they have guides in every language. The souvenir shop is very well stocked as well.

This is the best castle I've seen in the Loire valley. It is huge and the architecture is very complex, like its spiraling main staircase. There is a lot to see, and the castle also has some art displays. It's actually a big site with a garden, church, village, etc. The only downside is that the parking lot is €6 (other castles don't make visitors pay parking) but given the size of the site, I suppose it goes toward its preservation. A must see!

Very amazing building and grounds in a beautiful setting. The place is huge so you could spend all day there. We visited the castle and gardens. The castle was quite amazing with lots to see and learn about. Most of the castle is open to explore so there is plenty to see. The gardens were a bit disappointing however, not a lot of actual garden to see and nothing too spectacular either.

Huge palace, very few pieces of furniture. Tons of rooms. Went to the very top and had great views of the gardens. When arriving early through the mist, the main entrance just looks amazing. There are places to eat, ATM, bike racks. It even has its own police force on horseback. Impressive.

First visit on a Saturday. Not as crowded as expected. Still enough free parking lots. We did not find an e-car charging station. If you are disabled with a cars, you can enter for free and your accompanying person as well. Even parking will be free. This is outstanding!
The castle ist amazing, the gardens wide and well to access. You can rent a golf caddy or a boat. There are some local vendors on a market styled place offering their crafted foods and drinks.
We did not like the current art exhibition, but tastes are different. The collection of oil paintings is superb.

Fantastic Chateau with one of the largest garden areas of any of them. They don't allow dogs inside the castle like all the others but you can and should definitely bring your dog as the castle grounds are amazing for different length hiking options. An easy walk to the Chateau from the car park. It wasn't crowded at all. I really enjoyed getting kind of lost inside and wish we'd had more time from our tour to explore. It was fun to find all the outdoor corridors that connected different rooms and areas. Kids really seemed to like it.

One of the biggest castles in France. Most famous for its double helix staircase. Recently renovated, it doesn't have as many fully furnished rooms as it used too. It's become more of a museum of history and art. The catering is much improved and there are lots of activities around the castle. There's a Kid's Discovery Zone inside the castle. You should come early, so you can use the whole day to explore the castle and it's surroundings.

Splendid views!! Lots of stairs to climb, but it is worth the energy. Stairs were not steep. Found the decor of some of the rooms to be beautiful. Best to plan to spend the day. There are many things to do like riding bikes, renting a golf cart. Several places to eat and have a relaxing snack a stones throw from the chateau.

Wow this castle was very much bigger and grander than I’d imagine while the locals were telling us about the chateau that it’s a must-go. Indeed it is. There is a lot of history and stories inside the chateau with a very helpful slew of videos. The best part is the multiple translations available for the videos each plastered on different sides of the wall making it easy for many tourists to learn about its history in comfort.
Favourite room: the video room.
Favourite exhibit: the hunting room with buttons display
I’d recommend getting the iPad to view the exhibits and follow the map in the given sequence in order to fully cover the château should time permit.
There are also sprawling gardens for you to walk which we couldn’t finish and a cafe/restaurant inside the castle and another few outside the chateau to fill your empty stomachs from the long walks. The inside cafe only has light bites past lunch hour.
There is also a kids friendly room located at the top floor, there’s a “finding Wally” game there which is pretty goofy fun.
Fun fact, the chateau felt colder in the winter inside than outside. A fellow B&B owner said a similar thing too.

We have been there at the Eastern Holiday. We started our tour after 20 min wait for security confirmation which is acceptable.
It is worth to wait. We bought head phone application and I think it was very successful to understand each room even each chair.
Improvement point is only women toilets were in use on such a busy day. You need to wait 10 more in toilet queue.

Chambord castle or palace is the most beautiful place I’ve ever visited in my entire life. It’s a one in a lifetime experience. I can’t rate this castle high enough. If I could rate it higher I would. We spent there almost 3 hours and the time went so quick. I could not believe it. I didn’t want to leave the castle as it was so gorgeous everywhere you go to.

I absolutely adore this Chateau!
During my visit, it happened to be a quiet weekday in winter, so there weren't many visitors around. It was such a delight to explore the grounds without the crowds and have the opportunity to take plenty of photos without any distractions.
Even though I only had about 2 hours to spend, I managed to cover most of the areas. If you find yourself with limited time, I still highly recommend making a trip to this Chateau. It's definitely worth it, and you'll be able to make the most of your visit regardless of the time constraints.

My entire family really enjoyed the chateau. My kids and husband were not very excited when I first mentioned it, but even they begrudgingly admitted afterwards that it was really neat. The grounds are really incredible and the chateau itself was amazing. It’s so huge that it’s hard to make sure you haven’t missed anything. We stayed in Orleans and did a day trip out- it was perfect. It was late March and the cherry tree blossoms were just blooming… I think a week later would have been perfect. Going during the off season was amazing- it was the weekend and it wasn’t crowded at all.
Had a wonderful visit, a nice little museum, and a British temporary exhibition there also. Free parking around the corner, good clean toilets, friendly staff. Highly recommend a visit.

What a wonderful place for petrol heads. Most displays and videos are in French but all of the car/engine exhibits have English translations too. Even better is the fact this display is in one of the factories where Matra vehicles were built. The engine display is excellent. Refreshments can be purchased at reception. I'm also sure I saw a simulator being assembled. One word of caution. If like me you drive a large camping car, don't try to park at the museum. Use the public car park adjacent. Would I come here again. Too right I would!

It is an excellent destination to visit with children and enjoy a picnic.
A wonderful oasis of beauty!! It's worth spending a full day in the magnificent gardens and visiting the potager, the birds and the butterfly House, + many other surprises along the way. The château and the bridge over the river generously offer peaceful areas of contemplation. The little train helps children and elderly take advantage of all the beauty and great educational opportunities on offer. For me, the highlights were the chapel, the rose and dahlia gardens, and spending time in the sun around the stunning water fountain. A truly wonderful place. I hope to go back soon.

This park is absolutely lovely. You can spend hours in there discovering all sorts of flowers and trees. There are several play grounds and a butterfly house.
There’s also an area with animals (chicken, bunnies, alpacas, donkeys,…), a little train that goes around the park, Minigolf and you can rent little carts to cycle through the park yourself. During the winter months it is only open for a couple of hours in the afternoon. If you plan on going more than once it’s worth getting a annual pass.

Excellent for kids. Lot of playground (sliders, swing, and other stuff...) And some animals. Nice for the parents too for a nice walk around and beautiful view. Plan 2-3 hous minimum if you go with kids.

A beautiful park, with lots of places to sit in the shade and relax. Iris and peonies season were past, a month earlier and the colours would have been amazing. We were disappointed that the restaurant has closed down, so the only food option was the food truck. It's easy to get to on the A tram, and is a great day out.

Large and Vast floral parc, in winter season the entrance is free., but you can't see the butterflies.
I went 2 times to be able to visit it all! Some animals such as Squirrel and Greater Flamingos can be spotted. And many birds!
Great place to bring kids. You also can have a picnic here.

Very nice and beautiful garden, with a lot of possibilities, even for kids. When you are in this area it's worth to make a stop here and enjoy the flowers and quiet atmosphere. Last but not least is the beautiful butterfly area a feast for the eyes.

Lovely park to walk around in summer and winter but the entrance price(only in summer,in winter is free)is quite expensive many little attractions for kids to play in and even a farm with goats chicken rabbits peacock sheep definitely recommend as a little walk in nature

Great place to wander around and enjoy the nature and of course also the shade of the trees. Enough playing facilities for smaller children.
The Martroi Square in Orleans is a pedestrian-only area that features a magnificent statue of Joan of Arc on horseback. The square is surrounded by various establishments like cafes and shops, offering visitors an enjoyable experience while exploring the city's cultural heritage. It's a bustling hub for locals and tourists alike, with no cars allowed to traverse the area.
Hôtel Groslot is a must-visit tourist attraction that offers free entrance without any admission fee. Visitors can gain entry by just mentioning their country of origin, and the friendly reception staff speak fluent English. Although there might be occasional delays due to wedding ceremonies, visitors can explore the museum's fascinating history in about 30 minutes, making it an excellent place to visit for those with limited time.
The Hôtel Groslot is an interesting glimpse into the old mansion and is city administration, going back many years. The building is quite interesting and beautifully designed. We loved the architecture and the paintings were great. The large painting of Catherine Medici learning of the death of her son is amazing.

Really interesting history in a smaller sized museum. You'll see and learn a lot about Joan d'Arc but in a relatively small amount of time, let's say 30 minutes worth.
Entry is free.

Built in XVI century this historical place is still interesting to visit nowadays. There is a lot of magnificent pieces of furniture in very good condition. The statue of Janna d'Arc in the yard is still remembering the bomb attack in 1944. The garden has a small chapel of Saint Jacque

This is the place of death of King Francis II and also a space used by Joan of Arc. The entry is free and there are guided tours of the hotel. However the hotel is closed between noon to 1400 hr. Limited help in English is available - maybe 1 staff at the front desk can speak. The gardens are very pretty and are a public space used by locals. The entry to the gardens is separate, a 3-4 min walk from the Hotel Groslot entrance. If there is an event happening at the location while you are there, entry is closed without notice, and the staff will ask you to come back at a later time

Hello everyone, you can enter this place free of charge! You just need yo tell your country and that is all. Sometimes there might be a wedding ceremony , so you might need to wait for an hour. Taking a picture is allwed of course without flash. People on the reception they also speak English and they are very friendly. Place is just awesome, you can spend 20-30mins with some old furnitures at this house

Very nice townhall. The garden is part of it. Visit is for free. You can visit 5 posh rooms. In front is a Jeanne d'Arc statue, which was damaged during the war.
The Cathedral Sainte-Croix d'Orléans is a Gothic cathedral renowned for its association with Joan of Arc. Visitors can take guided tours that showcase the treasury's collection of Byzantine enamels. Its stunning exterior exudes majesty, while inside, historical and cultural scenes create a peaceful atmosphere. This landmark is an emblematic representation of resistance in France and serves as the primary symbol of Orléans, the city where Joan lived.
Orléans is a wonderfully historic place with a beautifully preserved old town. The cathedral is a monument without equal. If you like Notre Dame, you will love the Cathedral of Orléans! This huge building impresses with its almost infinitely large rooms and a historically interesting exhibition. Nice trip if one

A really big and impressive church. It contains a lot of royal and noble families flags, they look pretty cool. What I think it's nicer is the fact that they illuminate it in blue after 9 o'clock in the evening and they hold an adoration moment with songs and prayers.

This Cathedral is maybe the main symbol of this city, the city of Giovanna D'arco and the simbol of resistance in France. The Cathedral is quite big and very cool from outside, while inside the isn't so much to see. In any case, if you are visiting Orlean you must come and visit it.

Such an amazing, beautiful, magnificent cathedral which rich history written on stained glasses, craved in stones for centuries to tell their stories.

The Gothic-style building, resonating with the spirit of the Middle Ages, exudes a sacred and majestic presence. As you open the doors, you are greeted by soaring ceilings and stunning stained glass windows depicting the life of Joan of Arc, leaving you in awe.

A giant cathedral which will stone you just by looking at its beauty on the outside. When you go inside the cathedral, a nice and peaceful atmosphere of historical and cultural (and religious) scenes will surely make you agree that this place is a remarkable stop on your trip to the region.
A nice little stop along the way to visit this very old church.

Probably one of the oldest temples in the world. An amazing church from the 9th century. We went on a Sunday, during spring vacations in France and the Tourist office just in front, was open and had lots of information including audioguides.

A little cycle excursion. One of the earliest Christian churches in France. Peaceful and simple grounds with picnic tables but also a quite handy cafe very close by
Jeff Riley — Google review
Very old church that has been remodeled like other similar churches. The mosaic is real nice to see, and you can see a model of the church's original form. On the floor you can see some of the original foundation of the part that was torn down to make way for the expansion from an oratory to a church.
Helpful visitor center outside. Available free secured bike parking if you want to explore the town on foot.
Worthy of a detour to visit if you are riding the Loire à Velo route.
Elisa H Barney — Google review
It is just amazing what one may find in a French small town. The mosaic's motive is the Ark, which is very uncommon, as well as the journey of the artisans to this quasi barbaric end of the World at that time. The temple did indeed endure transformations during the following centuries; the most significant is the addition of a nave to make for a Latin cross standard church.

Amazing Roman Architecture, the main gate is open, and free entry. Don't miss the small exhibit of a small XIVth century reliquary and original floor stones in the neighbouring office du tourisme.

Medieval site with a 1500s castle featuring period rooms, a perfume museum & restored gardens.
We enjoyed this Chateau. It even had a covered eating area where many families had their lunches. It was fun to see one couple eating with glasses of wine. The gardens were full of roses and expansive grounds. The chateau was a place that promoted perfumes. The story of perfume through the centuries was presented in the rooms of the chateau. There where many items that were used to make perfume and the vessels used to sell them. The chateau is worth seeing and finding out the history of perfumes in France!

I haven't return to this castle since i was i child and it looks even better than i remembered.
Lots of parking space and easy access.
2 hours is enough to go around.
Maybe the only thing missing was the sample of perfumes you could smell back on the day , but I imagine Covid has something to do with that.

This Palace is part of 10 "Chateaux Authentiques", in the Loiret region. It offers visitors a journey and insights of the history of the French hygiene from medieval to modern times. It also takes you to the French perfume history. Both are closely linked. For 8 Euros per person, a guided tour is recommended for the wealth of information our guide shared with us. Some parts were interactive making it interesting. We highly recommend this attraction.

The castle is no longer a residence of President, it’s only a museum. Very nice and cozy , not big, with beautiful interiors. Interesting combination of an old fortress , which you still can see, and new extension of the castle. It is surrounded by big park and pond. Very interesting place, with great explanations on the first and second empires, French presidents customs and much more, including end of the French divine monarchy. The place specifically built by Louis XIV for his wife (Marie-Antoinette) called "La laiterie de la Reine" (the milk farm of the Queen) is also worth visiting, included with the entrance ticket, but quite far (1km walk from the main castle). The garden is magnificent.
Overall a place that is tightly linked to the power in France for the past 300 years.
National park with woodland trails, raised forest walkways, wild deer & raptor flight presentations.
Spent the day with family, walked the whole loop, very tranquil forest. We watch the raptor bird presentation which was excellent. Very close up look at many raptors, flying around. Our kids played at the huge trampoline in the sky as my daughter called it. Great place for family and anyone looking for a relaxing walk in the forest. Beware of grumpy photographers thou, ran into one on the trail who thought he owned the place. It's a space for everyone.

We came from Asia to visit here. We saw online that there were lots to see. But it’s wasn’t at all as expected. It’s so expensive that even for 5 years old they took 18€ like adult😇. We are really disappointed. At the end of the trip we were all tired just walking around forest, there is not many animals to see. If you want to go for a walk it’s fine if not it’s really not worth. The trampoline parc is medium size and kids at different ages. I sprained my ankle and I will spend the next month in bed.

The annual pass may worth the money.

Thoiry ZooSafari is a unique destination that offers a combination of zoo, safari tours, world farm, maze, play areas and a castle with gardens. Visitors can enjoy a beautiful day out observing well-cared-for animals in spacious enclosures. The zoo features an array of animals, some of which may be unfamiliar to many visitors. There are shaded areas and picnic tables available for relaxation. The zoo also boasts playgrounds and entertainment options suitable for visitors of all ages.
Thoiry is undoubtedly the best zoo I've ever visited! I brought along my 2-year-old and 5-year-old, and we all had an absolutely fantastic time. The hyena and lion areas stand out with tunnels that allow you to walk through their habitats under a glass covering, providing an incredible view of the animals. Thoiry offers several playgrounds and a massive rope/trampoline/climbing area that entertained all of us, including my 75-year-old mother. What's remarkable is the spacious enclosures for each animal, which are meticulously designed to replicate their local habitats, setting it apart from zoos in the US. Though we missed the drive-through experience, we explored the entire zoo and will return during our next trip to France. I highly recommend Thoiry, especially if you have kids!

You can enjoy a safari for 30 euros (include the light show of Thoiry's castle). You will be able to sit next to ostrich and antelope. A rare things to do! There are also wolves, bears, elephant and giraffe! Be careful, if you want to see bears active don't go in winter or they will hibernate!

Waste of time and waste of money. We initially did the safari (taking your car and driving through), and barely saw any animals. They only had 1 elephant, 2 giraffes, 2 camels, 3 zebras, a few ostriches and small black bears.
Then we parked our cars and walked into the zoo. What another waste of time. We had to walk for hours just to see a few skinny lions, 2 tigers, 4 gorillas, a few small kangaroos and one medium size anaconda (just naming the few interesting animals that was there).
They also had chickens, frogs, small raccoons, very small otters, 2 horses and a few other animals like foxes, parrots and 1 leopard. In addition, the park was dirty and not well maintained.
Overall, if I knew I wouldn't have visited at all. It was a complete waste of time and money.

I am not a big fan of zoos bit we took our 7yr old. This is a good zoo. The layout is very nice. They have a lot of interesting species that I had never seen, also tunnels through the feline enclosures. And a drive through “safari.” It’s all a bit small but very tidy, very nice. It always breaks my heart to see the gorillas bored to death.
The kids games a great. The food is absolutely disgusting, bring a picnic lunch.

The antithesis to our recent visit of Versilles!! Friendly & quiet, peaceful beautiful gardens, helpful & interesting guides & a real sense of a family residence open to the public. We were lucky & did meet the Marquis who gave us some history about the Chateau during our tour & then we chatted to him after our visit. A real thoughtful effort has been put into entertaining children, who would no doubt be bored by the tour very quickly otherwise. I found the early refrigeration system particulary interesting in the kitchen!! I got a real sense of the history of the place from the furniture & artifacts which are genuine to the Chateau itself, often unlike in other places, which are an assembly of disparate period pieces.
So glad we stumbled across this visit :)

A bit of a ride out of town, worth calling in ahead to ask about available tour times and see how busy the place is. Tends to get school trips which can make the place busy. You have a choice to do grounds or guided tour also. Would have been nice to know all the fairy tail story telling and the tour is in French. Plenty of parking outside and big enough for buses also. Place is privately owned and kept up well.
Classic, 1931 modernist villa, designed by architect Le Corbusier, with guided tours.
One of the best places I have been in 'Paris'. As an architecture lover I enjoyed this place not just because of the villa itself but also because of the calm environment, possibility to chill on the grass and just look at the villa. I did a little photoshoot there as well. Definitely recommended!

Fabulous piece of architecture! I’ve wanted to see this place for years and finally got here. Arrived in the afternoon, bit too hot inside on a sunny day but well worth persevering for the fantastic architecture. We were lucky enough to be arriving a few minutes before an English speaking tour started. We watched an introductory video in the garage area and then were shown around by a superb guide called Thomas. He was excellent and knew the place inside out. This made the visit so much richer. I always loved this place, not because I’m an architecture connoisseur, but just because I think it looks cool. Now I appreciate it so much more after Thomas’ tour. 5* all the way, totally recommended.

A must for architecture buffs, the iconic Villa Savoye is one of the most famous examples of modern / international style, certainly Le Corbusier’s most famous house project. It’s well worth the trip, to explore the building inside out, it was restored some years ago and now it looks great.

Such an architectural masterpiece! It fits perfectly in the surroundings, I especially loved the outdoor spaces on the second and third level.

Villa Savoye is a masterpiece of modern architecture, designed by Le Corbusier in the 1920s. This iconic building is a must-visit for anyone interested in architecture and design. The villa is situated in Poissy, about 30 kilometers from Paris. To reach the villa, you can take a train from Paris to Poissy, and then a bus or taxi to the site. The villa is open to visitors from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 am to 6 pm.
The building itself is a stunning example of modernist architecture, characterized by its clean lines, geometric shapes, and emphasis on function and efficiency. The design of the villa is based on Le Corbusier's "Five Points of a New Architecture," which includes features such as pilotis, a roof garden, and an open floor plan. Walking through the villa, you can see the way in which Le Corbusier's design principles have been executed in every aspect of the building, from the way in which light enters the space to the use of materials and colors.
I would highly recommend a visit to Villa Savoye for anyone interested in modern architecture and design. It's a truly unique and inspiring experience that is not to be missed.

Wonderful architectural house, it’s one architectural icon. However, they should do a better job at maintaining it. It’s such a beautiful house but it looks decrepit and like it’s falling apart.

Well, It was my personal pilgrimage to the roots of the modern architecture. Villa Savoy should be a obligatory place for most of the architects and architectural students. Building, its placement and form is just incredible up to date, despite its age (91 years). It was really personal experience. I would recommend that you plan your trip right after opening, so you'll have some quality time with this incredible piece of architecture. Through this building Le Corbusier is still alive. That you can be 100% sure.

Worst occasion, we're on the middle of the zebra crossing with a child and 2 cyclist came beaming and didn't stop until last second and ended up crashing, shocking experience. People are generally rude on the street and public spaces. Sadly 3 stars and would never go back.

With its wonderful large garden it is a real haven of peace. The International School in the neighborhood gives it the international flavor I adore, you can hear all kinds of languages 🙂. It gives an « aire » of holiday all year long. A parc with class

One of my favorite cities near Paris is Saint Germain en Laye! I love coming here and come here often to visit the castle and grand park. The Castle has a large green space where you can play sports, have a run, or enjoy a nice picnic. There is also a small snack bar where you can buy food and drinks. It’s currently closed due to covid but that doesn’t change anything. The castle is located near a lot of cafes and stores so it’s easy to walk out and get food or do some shopping! This is very kid friendly! Just make sure you wear comfortable shoes because you’ll do a lot of walking and the ground is dirt or grass. The castle is currently closed but when it’s open, it’s so great to do a little tour of the place!

Beautiful outdoors, the garden is huge and offers a breathtaking panoramic view on Paris, nice water fountain as well. However, it is a shame we cannot visit the rooms, kitchen and others parts of the Castle. Unfortunately, you only have access to one floor which hosts the national museum of archeology.

Decent paths to stroll around. The incredible 16th-17th century interior courtyard is my favourite part of the museum as the exhibits insides are 99.9% in French. I literally counted two English translations. Only the first floor is open as well. Glad I saw this on the free first Sunday as I would have hated to pay. I was in and out of the museum in 10 minutes. The church also is not that impressive IMO.

First _ it is a bit far from Paris, so utterly peaceful but with Parisian architecture. This already makes it a true delight.
The food options are just amazing and I can recommend quite a few there. Last and my favorite part - there is a Neolithic period museum with real specimens from Bronze and Iron age inside the Chateau. If you are a nerd this is a must visit. If you are out on a romantic getaway the area + gardens will set the mood right ;)

Brilliant Sunday afternoon out. Fantastic views across the castle gardens, La Defense visible on the horizon. Lots to see and do. Resting place of King James VII of Scotland (II of England) in a building adjacent to the Chateaux- beautiful plaque on display in the outside wall of building (see photos). Recommend highly for a visit 🤗

Beautiful town, peaceful and quaint. People were nice and cafes so full of energy. I loved watching the happy people take their time to spend together! Noone sat inside but enjoyed the weather outdoors - it was picturesque!

Those castle is gorgeous and has got an archeology museum really well done. There is also another exhibition that change every few months. It's inside the city next to a huge part with playground and next to the exit of RER A. Also beside bar and restaurants. Perfect place with a perfect location and a view of Paris from the edge of the garden. Really recommend to visit.

What a beautiful château! This is where Louis XIV was born and lived until he moved to Versailles! Great look off from the gardens. This is not a Château that you can visit inside, except for the museum part and the interior court. Still worth the ride there!
While you are there, visit the archeology museum, which is where the world archives are! Fantastic museum :)

1 Pl. Charles de Gaulle, 78100 Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France
Laid out in 1777, this arboretum was confiscated during the revolution & is now a tree-filled park.
Yet another one beautiful park just 40 mins from paris city centre.
You can get there by catching RER B (Robinson).
Very scenic and peaceful place. You can see lot of birds, bees and also there is a small sheep flock.
Various varieties of trees, berries and plants are there. And there is an plant nursery too, you can get flower seeds, garden equipments and fresh citrus fruits & jam.

I think I haven't been to this park yet, it's so big and beautiful (it's the most beautiful park I've been to so far!). You will go to Rer B to Robinson station, then you can walk or catch a bus 1 stop (then walk). But the walking distance is not too far and you can see the beautiful houses on the side of the road.

Not far from the crowded Paris, but it offers you a time of tranquility under the green wood trees. A little river ( named as anglaise) runs across the landscape. At the onset of winter, the tree-leaves exhibit different colours. The canopy becomes colourful.

I will give 6 stars if I can. Best trees I have seen in Paris parks. And the color was just right in late October.

Not so far for from Paris but it is so peaceful and calm. I love this park so much and could spend more time here over and over. I took a walk along the park, breath in all the fresh air and could feel all the anxiety go away. Nature is a true remedy. The bonsai collection is also spectacular! Some trees are very unique and have been there since forever. I feel really small and protected by nature

What a place!
A magnificent garden, well cared, with a lot of different trees and vegetation. Very calm.
In some places it is also possible to picnic.
It's easily reachable from Paris in 30 minutes of RER and a small walk. It's totally worth it. Recommended. Free entry.

Very amazing place for children. The park has many themes. One for a castle and another for princess, farms, police and even for star treck. My children loved the places. The entrance fee is very cheap, 15€ for 5 persons. The problem is the patking. It is next to a shopping centre which used all the parking area. It was full when I came there on Sunday.

(Translated by Google) Following the purchase of a children's motorcycle that had been used three times, the wheel broke. How is the wheel made? I'm going to the store. The saleswoman asks me the date to find the ticket. She asks me to go get a new product for the exchange. The product is heavy and high, so I have to move it myself. She calls her 'manager' to sign the exchange. Probably having no sense of management or commercial spirit, she told me “we’ll try to repair it” as if she worked at Decathlon. I ask him for a note in the event of a problem with the vehicle, for liability in the event of an incident. The last of a nerve, condescending, she told me 'we'll try'. I hear that you don't need a baccalaureate plus 8 to be a store manager but that shows the incompetence of business professionals.

I had a discount voucher issued in mid-July, the staff didn't want to know, I couldn't benefit from my discount which was not that old. No commercial gesture and in addition a "responsible" who looks down on people.
I was a loyal customer, I will no longer come and shop elsewhere.
