Such a beautiful church and lovely grounds. The view of the town below was breath taken. The stain glass windows were the best I have ever seen. So many little details all over the church.

Stopped here a while ago. Such a beautiful building. The finishings are magnificent.
A lovely stop to admire the surrounding view from the Cathedral over the town and beautiful architecture throughout the Cathedral.
Nando DG — Google review
Beautiful large elaborate cathedral with unending mosaics on the floor and the walls in addition to tall detailed stain glass windows. Lofty arches lead to more art work which ceiling angels watch over. A definite must see. Outside three tombs Cardinal Conway, one in Latin, and one in Irish. I do wish they had a small placard so I knew who the others were.

Stayed in Armagh for a few nights , it's true what they say about this being a town full of impressive churches, this possibly being the most impressive of the bunch. I can only vouch for the outside as the evening was late and was all closed up. The Cathedral, although smaller than most others that you would class as Cathedrals.
Grounds are pleasant enough to walk around, although no flat, the Church is perched upon a hill, so that the town can look up and worship the true majesty of the Lord , with the steps of attrition leading up to worship .... cor religion , it's so full of itself , if it wasn't for the buildings I'd have nothing to do with it !

A majestic cathedral has gathered clergy and history! I was pleasantly fascinated by my visit there. Amazing view of the city from above.

I visited St Patrick's Catholic Cathedral in Armagh today and it was a most enjoyable experience.
The Cathedral is well sign posted in Armagh and is easy to locate.
There are car parking spaces at the rear of the Cathedral.
The Cathedral has two spires and has a row of steps that lead up to the main entrance to the Cathedral.
As you enter the Cathedral the thing that draws your attention straight away is the alter and sanctuary.
It is beautiful. It is extremely colourful and ornate clad in gold.
There are also lots of beautiful stained glass windows in the Cathedral.
In the stained glass window behind the sanctuary is a depiction of St Patrick and the fawn.
I would recommend a visit to St Patrick's Catholic Cathedral in Armagh in Northern Ireland.

One of the ancient church at Armagh, a quite place to spend your spiritual time.
History
Church was built in various phases between 1840 and 1904 to serve as the Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Armagh, the original Medieval Cathedral of St. Patrick having been appropriated by the state church called the Church of Ireland at the time of the Irish Reformation.
Mass times: Monday to Friday 10:00, Saturday Vigil at 19:00; Sunday at 09:00, 11.00 and 17:30.
Car parking and toilet facilities available.
No pass required for the entry.

A very impressive building and the artwork in the ceiling is particularly worth checking out. Lots of lost stories about Irish saints hidden up there.
There is no doubt but that the building was designed to impress. It is set on a hill surveying the surrounding countryside. As was typical in the 19th and early 20th centuries it is a neo-Gothic design.
Fantastic visit and talk. My nephew told the gentleman the barn owl was my favourite bird of prey and we got to both hold him. Very friendly people there and they all volunteer their time. My nephew was over the moon to receive a feather off Griff the golden Eagle, he only gets 2 feathers a year and sonny got one !!!! Made his day. I got a barn owl feather aswell which is lovely.
If your in the area please go along to visit and support them with their brilliant conservation work
Mags Cullen — Google review
A nice display of not just owls but also birds of prey (falcons / eagles), even hens and ducks, and some reptiles as well. Don't forget to visit the shop at the end as some of the animals on display are tucked inside. Well worth a visit for those interested in birds.
Alan Hongkonger — Google review
I had a quick visit last weekend and will definitely be back soon not only to see the birds again but also to learn more.
The birds were just amazing and some quite comical too.
Although the birds are in enclosures, they are outdoors and you get great views of them. The place is in a good wee spot.
It should be on every family's list of places to go see, for sure. Wish I had found it sooner.
Keep up the great work folks and thank you for caring for these creatures!
Michael Lyke — Google review
The most amazing place for lovers of Owls and birds of prey. Mike and his volunteers have such passion and love for the beautiful creatures in their care, it is inspiring. Me and my family spent mothers day here and had a brilliant experience. The team at World of Owls are doing a brilliant job with no help from outside sources, they have been hit hard with restrictions due to Covid and deserve help and support. Highly recommended for children of all ages and animal lovers of all ages.

Amazing place run by loving volunteers. So many beautiful owls and birds of prey to see and they also have a reptiles section inside. Great day out with a handy picnic area, would highly recommend.

A brilliant experience seeing the owls and other birds. Very natural looking for the animals nothing too fancy. The staff was amazing with my little girl, had so much time for her and let us interact with one of the owls.

I always recommend this place as it’s run by donations and it’s just brilliant thanks for having us and taking the time to speak with us will be back again,

Visited on the first day of opening for 2023 😊
We really enjoyed our time here and it's great to see that they have been able to rescue and care for birds which have suffered neglect and poor conditions prior to rescue.
The owls, eagles, birds of prey, raven and other animals were lovely to see!
Yes, the facilities, paths, fences etc could use a little TLC however as I've seen the owners state, they have suffered years of lost revenue due to COVID, and they've still been able to keep the birds cared for and fed, which is the main and most important thing 😊 Hopefully, within the coming months and years, visitor numbers will recover and the centre can then work on the TCL, however in the mean time it should be our responsibility to visit, donate, support the place, enjoy seeing these beautiful birds and help the place continue the important work they're doing! 🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉

Had a lovely visit to the world of owls. Was unsure what to expect or how much we’d get to see but was pleasantly surprised. Saw loads of birds of prey up close for a modest price of £7 worth a visit if you’re considering it, right in the forest if you want to go for a walk after.
Manon Thomas — Google review
Amazing place full of magical and beautiful birds and other beauties. Loads of these birds are rescues or are brought to the centre in all sorts of conditions and get better here. The people have such love for the birds and you can tell they are well looked after.
Cornelis Spijker — Google review
We had a wonderful visit here. It's a family run sanctuary and doing such important work rescuing and looking after these birds. It's not a falconry centre so don't expect to see birds flying or guarantees to hold the birds - this is very clear on their website.
We were very lucky that they had arrived back from an educational visit while we were there so we were able to see a few owls up close and hold one of them. We got to learn more about the history of the sanctuary and the birds there as well as learn more about the specific owls they had taken out on the visit. They gave us so much time to ask questions and learn more - it really has opened my eyes to how important sanctuaries like this are!
Definitely worth visiting here and take your time reading the signs to learn more about the birds. You can take a walk in the forest after too, such a beautiful area.
Naomi A — Google review
Couldn't recommend this place enough, beautiful birds all with their own little quirks and personalities. We visited in the mid afternoon and spent about an hour and a half. We managed to catch some of the birds being fed, during which the volunteers were more than happy to talk about the birds, giving us their names and telling us a bit about their personalities. We had lots of questions about the species we seen and when asked, the staff were really enthusiastic and knowledgeable in their responses. This really is a hidden gem in the north, great way to spend a weekend afternoon and to be able to contribute to the upkeep of these beautiful birds through admission is money well spent.
Jack Marshall — Google review
We went today and had a lovely day. There were so many species of owls and other birds of prey. We were also lucky enough to see a young, beautiful and very rare black barn owl. She was being shown by the owner Mike, and our girls got to hold her. We all learnt a lot about these wonderful birds, and Mike and the other volunteers were super friendly and great hosts. Anyone planning their visit, especially with kids will be pleased to know there were clean toilet facilities and a picnic area with plenty of tables, and a slide & swing set. Great wee day out, and good to be helping this rescue centre by paying a v.reasonable ticket price.

Took our 5 year old daughter on a Saturday. Absolutely loved it. We will be back. The staff are so helpful and great with kids. Credit to staff who work on a voluntary basis. Deserves a lottery grant to help upgrade the estuary.

This is a lovely sanctuary for birds who have been previously poorly looked after. All of the staff are friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable. Every single penny goes into caring for the animals and giving them all that they need. The sanctuary is located in Randalstown Forest and is so peaceful and calming. Would definitely recommend a visit here.

Gardens
Longtime gardens offering scenic paths for walking & cycling, plus an art gallery & a coffee shop.
Antrim Castle Grounds are beautiful and bring back many happy childhood memories for me as I spent a lot of time here when young. Well laid out and dog friendly and convenient to the lough, the town and the coffee shop in the courtyard. So glad the hill has been reopened because the view from the top is great. The spiral path up the hill, known to my sister and me as the Walnut Whip, is great fun for children and dogs alike!

We had some time to kill whilst waiting for our flight home. Decided to go to the Antrim Castle grounds. We had no idea what to expect but we're really pleased that we went . The gardens are beautiful and you have to appreciate the work that goes on to get such a huge area to look as good as it does. We visited the refurbished stable tearooms and shop. The shop was full of crafts and the young lady behind the counter was so pleasant and helpful.
We decided to hire a cycle carriage for four. So relaxing and for £7.50 for half an hour, an inexpensive way to get around the grounds. Thanks to the staff and all the gardeners for their efforts. I will definitely tell my friends to put it on their agenda, should they visit the area in future.

Popped by on route to airport. What a lovely spot to walk around and take in the beautiful gardens and historic buildings. Loved the little fairy houses and quirky pieces added to the trees. And the jewel in the crown was the squirrel!! So lovely to see springing from branch to branch! Will call by another time and enjoy some coffee in the cafe.

Fabulous gardens, café museum exhibitions and the Platinum Jubilee Clockwork Garden was a joy to behold. And a bit of a giggle too. Disabled accessibility throughout the parkland and accessible toilets facilities too nearby to the café. I would go back again.

REALLY NICE GARDENS, EVEN IN WINTER!
Even when it's cold, it 's a lovely park to explore. Clean, quiet and well kept - this is definitely a place to explore if you have a spare afternoon here in Antrim. Best part is the floral gardens and the motte that spirals around to the top.
Overall, if you want a nice park to walk the dog or see some flowers, this comes recommended.

Great walks around the motte and the castle ruins, alongside the 6 Mile water. The paths are well surfaced and ground it mostly flat so great for an old hop a long like me.
Clatworthy House do a decent lunch with outdoor and indoor seating and I was not unhappy with the price.
The Jubilee Clockwprk Garden was lovely and the grandchildren loved the dancing trees.

Went to see Antrim Enchanted Christmas Lights. Very good display and plenty to do for children. Tickets priced at £20. There was park and ride at Junction One.
This was so fun!! Katrina was our tour guide and she was great. Really friendly, good fun and heaps of interesting facts. This is a really great tour, you get to sample lots and you'll probably walk away with a packet or two. Seems like a good company and they have done a few things to lessen their carbon footprint. Our kids had an absolute blast.

This is for the new tayto cheese n onion chocolate. Iv purchased two bars now n I'm very disappointed as all I can taste is chocolate. There are crisps through the bar but they taste plain not cheese n onion.

Hi, I actually haven't been to this place yet but I'd really love to go to visit there sometime in the future. I'm sure this place looks kinda fun and exciting.
I love your crisps by the way and they're really nice. My favourite flavour is cheese and onion.
I remember I tried Tayto (Northern Ireland known as the North as I refer to) for the first time while going on a day trip to Belfast with my father in summer 2009 and I thought it tasted great. I think it has a very similar taste to its counterpart in the Republic.
Anyway keep up the good business.
Greetings from Dublin, Ireland 🇮🇪.
Joe Junior P. Rickerby — Google review
Absolute rubbish, so many excellent crisps around these days. Latest packets no better than floor sweepings, all broken and crumbs. Contact via website says could take three weeks to respond! Used to be good but no longer.
Alistair Johnston — Google review
Our very lovely guide on 10-04-2019 was super knowledgeable about the production from start to finish (a proper factory graduate, not just somebody hired to carry out tours!). The tour itself was generous in details and the time given, and it was lovely to sample the finished goods hot off the production line! Everybody loves a really nice crisp and as people who know, know, there's no-one better that 'Tayto' for crisps, so whether you're a local or have come a long way, we could not recommend a visit to see the action at Ulster's famous 'Tayto Castle' any more highly!
Watson Property — Google review
Does anyone else out there in crisp eating land find tayto multi pack cheese
& onion crisps devoid of Flavour and it's also a very hit & miss affair with their smoky bacon ... one packet might have a little flavouring and another none at all ... if (as TATO says) the secret's in the Flavour ... then one can only deduce the 'secret' must have escaped some time ago ... along with those responsible for administering flavouring !! ... Solution for TATO ..... just make all your crisps PLAIN ....... very few will notice the difference!! Have a nice day.

Great little place, had Jill as out guide and what a treat she was, lots of facts and very very funny, just made our tour fun. I don't know how many times she has taken groups around but she made me believe we were the first tour she had taken, I thought Disney were the only ones capable of that! OK its a factory...starts with potatoes....how exciting can that be...lol...the kids loved it and I enjoyed seeing a production facility, home grown and exporting.
One point I would make....outside an Enter Here sign above the little door at the bottom of the steps would be useful, press the intercom button and listen for the door being unlatched...push it and off you go. Parking is on the street leading to this door..not a problem for us on our day.
Highly recommended and the free crisps were a bonus.
John Kinnier — Google review
Went on a tour of the factory yesterday, Becks was our tour guide. Very informative, interesting tour with samples of freshly baked and fried crisps, absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this tour. Trying to talk my cousins into going, hopefully I get to tag along for another tour and sampling.
Caitlin Allen — Google review
Tasty crisps are made here, and they do factory tours. We booked online through the Tayto website in advance, and when we arrived we were the only 2 people (out of a possible 45). Mr Tayto still came to see us, and we had a very personal tour with our guide Krystina. First she gave use a history lesson, and some lesser known insights around the same flavours being different, then answered all our questions (including about the North - South Tayto arrangement). The tour of the factory itself was an interesting and enjoyable experience, with aprons full of crisps, and our heads full of knowledge.

Nice , authentic, 🌺 flowers 🤑 rich , ergonomic place. Partly covered walkway, giving nice shelter in case of rainfall. Everything is designed to not waste the time. Good discounts in all shops.. Recommended.

The Boulevard outlets on the M1 at Banbridge are to be described as fantastic. Usually in this type of shopping arrangement, there are some items with significant reductions to draw the consumer in, and others items with lesser reductions. But l must observe that, with a few exceptions, most pricing here is well reduced.
The outlets themselves are well layed out with clean, well maintained toilets that are easily accessible. The walkway is also mostly covered allowing the prospective customer an unusually good degree of comfort.
There is also now a Tesco extra, Range plus other new stores which are slightly removed from the main park to allay congestion.
This is also my usual stop off for refuelling as it is usually the cheapest along the route. And there is reasonably good coffee in the garage if in a hurry. Otherwise there is a Starbucks and a Costa.

Suggestion: to help the planet, your green credentials and ultimately our pockets. . .please consider changing the 'Open Front Door' policy as it's clear that the shops are open for business. The shops that had the front door closed were much warmer and cosier.

The Boulevard is a busy shopping 🛍 mall between Newry and Lisburn in the quiet town of Banbridge. It is situated about 89 miles (126 km) away from Dublin city.
It has many retail stores and nice eateries.
We visited the salt kitchen over there, and it was a great experience for our taste buds.
Items sold in the home and bargain shop are top-notch and 👌 at very pocket friendly prices.
There are restrooms and public toilets 🚻 for customer use.
There are more than enough parking spaces for cars 🚗 at no extra cost to the shopper.
So, it is advisable to stop by someday for something 🤔, you never know what you will find. You will definitely be surprised 😮.

I visited the Ulster Aviation Society yesterday with my wife and two kids. Alan was our tour guide for the morning. Alan and his colleagues are obviously aviation addicts! Their passion for all the aircraft and their knowledge of the associated events were amazing. You can’t help your jaw dropping with the magnificent displays when you walk in. You can walk around the aircraft and climb into most of the aircraft.
My son is a massive fav of the Phantom F4. He was delighted to see it on display.
Very informative and would visit again.

Spending an afternoon at the Ulster Aviation Society was an absolute delight for our family! From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were immersed in the rich history of aviation. The museum boasts an impressive collection of aircraft and exhibits that showcase the evolution of aviation in Northern Ireland.
One of the highlights of our visit was meeting the guide, Ray. His dedication to the museum and his profound knowledge of aviation history added a whole new dimension to our experience. Ray's passion was infectious, and his anecdotes truly brought the exhibits to life.
Our family was thoroughly impressed by the interactive displays and hands-on activities available throughout the museum. It made learning about aviation history fun and engaging for both the kids and adults alike.
One aspect that particularly touched us was the memorial chamber dedicated to Polish aviators. It was a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by brave individuals from around the world in the name of aviation.
Overall, our visit to the Ulster Aviation Society exceeded all expectations. It's a must-visit destination for anyone with an interest in aviation history, and a perfect outing for families looking to spend quality time together. We left feeling enriched by the experience and with a newfound appreciation for the world of aviation.

Really enjoyable and informative morning at the UAS. Nice that there's a mix of just looking, hands on and getting into the exhibits. David, our guide for the tour, was very knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. Well worth a visit.

Excellent afternoon.
I didn't realise you needed to book so make sure you do that via their web site.
However, one of their volunteers kindly agreed to give us a personal tour.
My fourteen year old son loved it. Especially being able to sit in an ex Royal Navy Phantom jet!

Absolutely fantastic experience! Something that a museum cannot offer. This place allows you to see, feel and touch the various aircraft. Couldn't recommend highly enough. We had a tour by Ricci who was extremely knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humour also. Kept everything light hearted whilst learning so much. Thank you to Ricci, and to all volunteers who keep these aircraft preserved in this state. These amazing people give up their time to do this. Although there is no cost, I thought I would donate more than the average price of a museum visit, as this was far better.

I will visit them again.

What an amazing and super interesting museum!! We had the privilege of being shown around by the Chairman himself, who is so knowledgeable about the details and stories related to each and every plane. We were totally enthralled and utterly delighted by this gem of a museum. A MUST SEE!!😍❤️

This aviation museum was truly an unexpected jewel. Booking ahead is essential, and be prepared for a guided tour of the extensive exhibits that will likely last about two hours.
Together with my own wife, I visited with two pre-teens and their parents. All of our party thoroughly enjoyed the visit, and felt that the information provided by our extremely knowledgeable guide was given at a level that all of our party could relate with.
The exhibits are drawn mainly from aircraft that have had a connection with the island of Ireland, and principally Northern Ireland. Although there is a lot more than just aircraft to be seen in this museum.
If you have an interest in aviation, this is a museum that you could quite happily make further visits.

Was good crack. The establishment was very well kept. It's kept to a high standard of cleanliness. The staff or very accommodating.

A Good night staff taking bets really friendly. Only thing food would have been better offering gravy separate. As some people might prefer without but no choice offered My turkey dinner was swimming in gravy not appealing to look at was like it had all just been through on plate salad was lovely also bit crazy as a fight happened behind our group but I guess probably as they had to much to drink as lot Christmas parties

Great food for their Christmas parties. Service was excellent and we didn’t want for anything. Having to pay cash for drinks downstairs and bets is a pain though. Needs lights to show you where to drive to as we were all over the place trying to find the entrance. A different night out for sure

Great Christmas night out. Food was delicious and staff were superb in getting you drinks and bets. No waiting about!
Staff were courteous, friendly and helpful with any issue.
Sadly the track was frozen but can’t do anything with Mother Nature.
It didn’t dampen the spirits as we had televised racing from Shelbourne which you could bet on.

I went away to Carlingford for a night with my school. We had an amazing time and did loads of different activities, but, what made our stay even better was our instructor Alex! He was so enthusiastic, funny and made our games a lot more fun by being creative and energetic. His sense of humour and enthusiasm made everyone wanted to join in.

A great place to take a group. There are a wide range of fun activities to choose from. Our group chose Lazer tag, kayaking and a campfire experience. All of the group enjoyed themselves and want to return again. The food was okay, about what you would expect. The sleeping quarters were clean and well suited for our purposes. The location is fabulous, right in the centre of the town.

Fantastic 2 day trip with a group of 19 x 16 year old girls. Activities were very enjoyable and varied to suit all levels of confidence and ability. Leaders amazing - so engaging for all and made everything fun. Note only 1 shower in dorm rooms - more showers available downstairs though. Exact itinerary and food options were vague on communications. One girl that is gluten free said food was 'amazing' - the best selection and taste she's ever had on a group trip. Food overall was very good and substantial. Would highly recommend - action packed and guaranteed to have happy group comments - some didn't want to go home!

Having a group of people together participating in games can go a numerous different ways on a stag. We were very fortunate to have the. Carlingford adventure center.
Having emailed back and forth for months, they would always follow up quickly with us. They would get back on any questions that we had and gave us everything we needed while we were participating in our events.
The crystal maze was a really fun challenge. We were split into both groups and so the competitive nature really kicked in for our groups. It was a fantastic way for the group to all bond together. Both team leaders who ran us through the session were tremendous. They were kind, laid back and helpful. We understood all tasks that were presented in front of us. We couldn’t ask for two better people.
Would highly recommend the adventure center for any booking or group activity that you have

Very nice place, no water activities due to rough weather. Food is acceptable, suitable for vegetarians. Accommodation is a bit scuffed, but will get you through the night. I recommended that you don't waste too much time in Skypark and explore other activities.

We really enjoyed the residential in Carlingford, location was great. We really enjoyed the activities and accommodation was perfect for the groups we brought, however, Our girls rooms were located facing a bar and they were not provided with any curtains/blinds which left their room open for people to see in. When staff where told about this no solution was provided so the had to put up a bedsheet. Other than this the staff were great and made our nights stay really enjoyable, Thank you
Michael Lavery — Google review
I went here with my friend not too long ago, the rooms are definitely worse than I was expecting. It’s extremely hot even with the windows open and the shower is very strange as the pressure is very rough. Bed mattresses were not that comfy and the bed pack (which both of us got) had stains and smelled quite badly. I personally have a hard time staying away from my parents and I thought this would be a good opportunity to grow used to being away from them, but we weren’t allowed our phones during the day so I couldn’t contact them a lot since the internet was not good either. The nights were incredibly loud, with other kids screaming, banging on our doors, etc. No staff did ANYTHING about this and it went on for the 5 nights we were there. Eventually it got so bad we had to go to a hotel room as we couldn’t get any sleep since it was so hot, loud, etc. Some of the staff were great and funny plus really friendly, one of them called me a nutjob which is a little informal. The activities are good but they seriously tire you out and you feel terrible the next day. I do appreciate that there are rules and kids will be kids but it’s terrible that everyone can get away with it. Our roommate also screamed until all hours of the night, trying to talk to the boys from our window and nothing was done about this. If you’d like ti go here I recommend just booking a day rather than staying overnight because honestly I could never do this again. I did face some fears of heights which was great but a lot of the aspects were low quality, I hope I don’t come here for a school trip one day because I could never do it again.

Went on a Transition Year trip here recently. Was not bad overall: many positives and some negatives. Staff were outstanding. Views were beautiful. My group participated in laser tag, kayaking, nightline and sky park. All of these were fun and amazing experiences. All safety equipment was provided. Rooms were almost like a prison cell but was manageable for a night. There is a no phone policy however, there were times at which one could use their phone. Food was alright. You could go shop for food also. After waking up the next day, we all had to pack up before heading to the sky park. All our belongings were pretty much thrown into storage vans, resulting in some loss and damage. Took a long time to hand the belongings back out to students. Would go again, but not overnight.

Yet to get a refund for the change of kayaking to sky park on the day due to weather. Understandable that kayaking couldn’t go ahead but no refund was made to accommodate the significant difference in price, we did not get what we paid for and this was for all 12 members of my party. Would not recommend, not reliable. We were originally promised a refund of the difference however they have continued to ignore our communication since the visit

On Friday last it was pouring rain, and we had the best time, we laughed all the way through the crystal maze and other activities, such as axe throwing, spear throwing .
it really is full of adventure for any age, we also had lunch which was very tasty burgers and chips with coleslaw, bread and butter and a mug o T..

We were a hen group of 12 in July 2023. We had booked kayaking months in advance., unfortunately on the day the sea was too choppy so we were offered access to their sister company Skypark. The Skypark is considerably cheaper than the kayaking we booked. After several phone calls and emails, and promises from the manager of a refund on the price difference they have not followed through.

Great day out - I am a coach on an under 12s GAA team - myself and the other coaches brought 24 of our girls to Carlingford Adventure Centre for a Saturday morning out.
Over 3 hours, the girls had a great time on the Ziplines and Walkways. The aim of the trip was to have them all do an activity as a group and CAC was super for this. Great facilities, great staff and a great day out. Topped off by a quality takeaway from McFeeleys, the girls loved it.

Large, 18th-century country house with period antiques, set in rolling open gardens with sea views.
The castle is located at a distance from the towns. From the side of the castle offers a beautiful view of the sea. A tour of the castle costs 5 € for adults. Very interesting, each room is different from the others. Beautiful fireplaces and old paintings.

The EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum is an interactive experience about the history and impact of Irish expats around the world. It's located in the vaults of Dublin's iconic chq building, and it tells the story of 10 million people who left Ireland for a new life in other countries.
When you pick up your ticket to go into the Emigration Museum you are given a little card, which is described as your passport, that shows all the rooms that form the different exhibition rooms. In each room you can collect a stamp for that part of your "passport", which adds a fun element to your visit.
The different exhibition rooms themselves are really well thought out, telling the stories of individuals who emigrated either forcibly or by choice, as well as some patterns and historical reasons for emigration, which made a significant mark on the history and development of not only Ireland, but also the countries to which they emigrated.
Informative, emotional at times and must of all, entertaining. Definitely worth a visit.
Robin Cuthbertson — Google review
Excellent museum. Tickets can be booked online. They give you a passport checklist which you stamp each time you finish a section.
Very impressed as it shows the history of Irish emigration as well as Irish contributions to the world.
Loved how interactive it was and the audiovisuals were definitely top notch. Don’t forget to stamp your passport!
I’d recommend this place for all tourists and Irish citizens alike!!

We were in Dublin and wanted to learn more about the country and culture. So we decided to go to the epic museum. Although tickets are on the pricier side, we enjoyed the experience. They give you a travel passport that you scan at the end of each exhibit, which makes it exciting. We loved the history and wished we had more time to visit. A great museum that we’d for sure recommend to people.

We visited here last month and it was above so completely our expectations! The tour museum was super interactive, interesting and very different from any that we had seen before. Erin was incredibly welcoming and kind, it really was a great experience overall!

This tour was amazing! Not just the doom and gloom of the time, but full history of the why, how..and what happened next in Irish history and its people. The way they have framed how Irish people have impacted the world is really done well and hugely engaging. The art installation of transport options through time when you first go in is breathtaking. Suitable for all ages and mobility status as its easy to get around. They have this cool Irish passport you are given when you enter and you stamp it yourself and each section, kids loved it! It's located down the quays which is really only a short walk from O'Connell Street or you can get the Luas. Ticket can be reused within 30 days - brilliant idea as we are going back with friends we enjoyed it so much.
Liv Nix — Google review
I've done my fair share of museums, but this one was really impressive. The amount of interaction offered is impressive. All sorts of games, displays and informative signs. There is a free audio guide that you can download and you get a 'passport' that you can stamp in every room that doubles as a map of the museum. A great museum for kids as well! Definitely worth the entrance price, so don't hesitate and put this on your to-do list. One last hint: pre-booking online saves 2 euros 😉
Juljan Desmet — Google review
We enjoyed the map of the museum in the shape of a passport. However, it is important to underline that the information displayed inside lacked objectivity. Compared to other national museums, the entrance fee is on the pricier side (21€ for adults, 18€ for students) which seems to fund the very elaborate and technological installations, which we enjoyed, but the amount of information is proportionally less. I highly recommend using their free audioguide app in order to learn as much as is possible, or you can choose the 2€ guided tour. Once you exit the museum, the structure houses several shops, and among them their gift shop sells similar items as other souvenir shops but for a cheaper price! All in all it was a satisfying experience but less educational than we had expected.

I saw some pictures online from the museum that intrigued me - so I decided to add this place to visit during my Dublin trip. And I was not disappointed whatsoever.
This is a very visual and interactive experience, the museum is divided into sections of Irish emigration experiences, with lots of information provided in every room.
It's a very modern museum, with nostalgic feeling, when you're reading up the letters people sent during their emigration journeys. It really left me inspired and a bit teared up!
Definitely worth a visit!
Andrej Zacharenkov — Google review
I have a keen interest in history and enjoyed my visit. The tour guide was very good.
I do think however the museum is overrated and would leave it short two stars for the following reasons-
1. There is not much to interest younger kids. I would only bring the kids if they are teens and have some interest in history.
2. This is an experience museum, with interactive displays. There are no artefacts which is what I love to look at most going to museums. While there are some stunning visual displays it's all a bit samey.
They do a passport that allows you to revisit within a set time period.
So all on balance a nice visit but if I was advising a tourist only doing one I would definitely do the national history museum at Collins Barracks or the Natural History museum instead.

The most fantastic museum I have have visited in Ireland in decades. It was above and beyond what I expected. It catered for all ages, so even though alot to do with the emigration was too advanced for my 8 & 4 year old, they were engaged & entertained in every room! I can't recommend it enough. You will not be disappointed. As my son's full time carer, they allowed myself & my son to go free, so I only had to pay for my daughter. So wonderful! And the gift store is fabulous! We bought a whole BAG of fab items

AMAZING experience. The exhibits are all interactive and easy to read/visually engaging. You learn about all aspects of what it is to truly be Irish. You are given a "passport" at the beginning and stamp it in each room you go in (20 in total). The gift shop was nice. There is a LOT to see/read in the exhibits so plan on probably three hours if you want to read everything, or about 60-90 mins if you want a brief understanding but don't want to read/watch each screen.

During our recent visit to Dublin, my boyfriend Pete and I stumbled upon the EPIC Immigration Museum, and we were pleasantly surprised by what we discovered. We would rate our experience 4 stars!
Our entry was made even more appealing thanks to our Go City Card, which included admission. Upon entering, we were given a passport, a unique touch that added an element of fun and engagement to our visit. We eagerly stamped our passports in each room, which turned out to be a delightful surprise.
The museum truly lives up to its name - it's EPIC in its scope and offerings. We were amazed by the variety of exhibits and interactive displays that covered a wide range of topics. From Irish literature and sports to criminals, movies, and theatre, there seemed to be a room for every interest.
The themed rooms were not only diverse but also incredibly interesting. We found ourselves immersed in the rich history and culture of Ireland, learning about the contributions of immigrants in various fields. The interactive elements added a layer of engagement that made the experience both educational and enjoyable.
While we thoroughly enjoyed our visit, we're rating it 4 stars as we believe there's room for improvement in terms of providing even more detailed information in some areas. However, the EPIC Immigration Museum is undeniably a must-visit for those interested in Irish history and culture, and we left with a greater appreciation for the impact of immigration on this beautiful country.

They say it takes 90 minutes to go through, but you could spend 5-6 hours easily if you want to see the self guided tour in it's entirety. Ok museum, very technologically advanced displays. $25, for adults, $21 for Seniors. Ticket good for 10 days so don't rush for the entire viewing. In one day. Since exhibits are a waste of time and push a liberal agenda, so if that offends you, stay away. They boast a 7am to 7pm but we got their at 7 am and had to wait until 10 when they really open.

If you know nothing about your past or heritage, this is a great exhibition. For those who have had an interest all their life in their past, this will be too commercial for your liking.
Great for a wet day, but challenge yourself to explore Dublin more.
Also don't get caught out in the gift shop, everything will be cheaper and available across town!
There are multiple coffee and food shops beyond the exit that is also accessible from tbe street

Great morning spent at the EPIC museum. €50 for 2 adults and 1 child including 4 hrs parking. Plenty to explore and read including videos to watch, interactive screens and games. They give you a "passport" to be stamped in each room. My toddler got plenty of amusement from this!
We can return FREE within 10 days using the same tickets, well worth a visit to learn about the Irish how far they stretch across the globe, the reasons why they emigrated and some of the success stories that followed, and some of the not so great either.

I don’t like museums BUT this one was so well made and an adventure to explore around. My interest and amazement was constant throughout the museum. It was beautiful to show that despite the suffering and hard times, the Irish raised themselves up and created a name for themselves through music, sports, and overall life. It is a very deep memorial that I as a child of an immigrant connect so deeply with.
There’s a stamp activity you can do that makes you so excited for the next exhibit!

Excellent museum curation! No wonder it's been closen as one of the best museums in Ireland. İt's a must to see if you want to learn more about Ireland and Irish culture or you must bring your tourist friends coming from abroad. The Jeanie Johnston is a replica of a nineteenth century ship that transported Irish famine refugees to America. It is a living history museum where tourists can gain an understanding of what life was like on board during the transportation of these people.

Just a small suggestion that the guide should probably wears a small microphone 🎤 especially out on the deck in a windy day and open space. Was having a bit of trouble hearing the whole thing at the beginning of the tour when we were out on the deck outside the ship but I could tell the lady we had was really trying her best!

I liked the boat and that we could wander around it at leisure! Guide was quite informative, but slightly wooden and obviously had rehearsed his script. He was willing to answer questions and this was when he was better. Fascinating story of how badly the Irish were treated and how this ship helped some of them.

The Jeanie Johnston was a brilliant place to visit. You are guided (you must take a guided tour) around a replica of a ship which took Irish emigrants fleeing the Great Hunger to North America, learning about the famine's history and the stories of the ship, crew and passengers. Our knowledgable guide Steve handled the subject with tact, intelligence and a much-needed sprinkling of Irish humour. Superb.

Excellent. I really loved this 50 minutes tour. So interesting to learn the story of this little ship and its passengers.
Our guide Owen was just amazing, such a good story teller. His passion and enthusiasm made the tour even more interesting.
Highly recommended!

The attraction is closed over the winter period and not surprising with the ice and cold we have had the past few days. The replica
Ship still looked Good moored on the River side. Im sure its a worth while attraction during the summer months to learn some of the past history of the Irish nation and what they endured.

Would definitely say that it was my best museum in Dublin. We had a wonderful guide, explaining well and engaging. He was able to answer every question we had and the story about this boat was wonderfully related. For foreigners that are not English speakers it can be a little bit hard but I was with a friend from France and she could get everything so we both had an amazing journey on board!

The tour takes approximately 50 minutes and is led by one of our knowledgeable guides. The tour begins with a walk around the upper deck, where you will see the majestic masts, admire the craftsmanship and learn about the ship’s history. Step on board and you will be transported back in time to join them on their gruelling journey. Our guide was brilliant, his stories were very interesting and cognitively even for younger audiences. Highlights of the Tour:
• Learn how the Famine forced millions to flee the country
• Retrace their gruelling journey
• Experience what life was like on board
• Uncover fascinating personal passenger stories
• Award-winning tour guides
• Meticulous craftsmanship
• Marvel at the beautiful tall ship
Nearby is the poignant Famine Memorial by Dublin sculptor Rowan Gillespie.

Visited the Jeannie Johnston in Dublin and it was amazing. It's a replica of a 19th-century ship that brought emigrants to North America. Great for understanding Ireland's history. You have to do the tour to learn how this ship managed to have 0 deaths. Highly recommend!

A replica of a famous boat used by immigrants to leave the country in dire times.
The tour is an interesting way to see how those trips were made from the eyes of a passenger, and the conditions they were facing.
The tour guide not only is funny and very animated, but he adds a lot of immersion to the experience.
I recommend this tour of you're curious as the conditions the immigrants were against, and some history.

This was a great experience in of Dublin's less known attractions. It tells the story of the many people that left their country to find a better future in the US. the guide is a lovely girl, very knowledgeable and kind. It is definitely worth your time.

This tour is a must if you're visiting Dublin. Our tour guide was amazing, and answered every question our children could think of. His knowledge and eagerness to engage with everyone on the tour was amazing. No question went unanswered and he added tidbits and bursts of humour to our tour. By the end of the story it felt like we had passed through time and had our own personal tour of the Jeanie Johnston

Klarie was the most amazing tour guide, she brought the story alive. If you want to know more and see more about one of the most significant events in Irish history I highly recommend going here. Not only will you get to see an amazing ship but you will get some great insights into this historical event. Our guide was Klarie who was funny, witty and very knowledgeable. I could not recommend this tour higher! Its 45 min of your life you will not regret.

Visited during a freezing rainy gale.. It was a great chance to see what it would be like on deck at sea in a storm.. albeit we were in 21st Century kit! The Jeanie Johnston is Fantastic It is such a fantastic story and our guide was brilliant. The boat is amazing especially below deck, you really get a sense of what it was like. The end of the story is truly awe inspiring BUT you will have to visit for yourself to find out what happened. The ticket gives access to Epic The museum which is truly EPIC a real view of Irish history but in a modern digital immersive set of displays. This was deinately a highlight of our trip to Dublin and we certainly recommend it goes on your itinerary

The story of Jeanie Johnston is miracle. Thanks for the humanitarian captain, doctor, and ship owner, no one died on the ship during the many voyages carrying Irish people to north America in the Great Famine time. I purchased the bundled ticket with EPIC museum together. The 50 min tour is definitely out of my expectation.

Clare was our guide. She has a talent for telling a story and I could have listened to her all day. Tour only takes about an hour but well worth it.

I really like how the tourist guide provides the information and tells the history of this ship. This was one of the best and most interesting tours we went on in Dublin. Our tour guide was incredible - fascinating, engaging, personable, and so friendly. And so knowledgeable!! I was impressed that there were things she had dug into herself to find out because she was just curious about them. She clearly had a passion for history and it was incredible to learn from her. The newly designed Bord Gáis Energy Theatre is a top-class theatre perfect for hosting performances of ballet, opera, musicals and orchestra concerts. With its contemporary angular style, the Bord Gais Energy Theatre ties in perfectly with its home in the ultra modern Grand Canal area.
I saw the Lion King 🦁 🤴 here and I absolutely loved it. The theatre is grand and safety precautions have been put in place in light of recent events(Covid).
I totally recommend.

One of my absolute favourite places ever. I love musicals and visit often and every time it’s been amazing. The theatre is stunning and the staff are amazing. All the shows that come are super enjoyable. Even though the shows are of west end quality tickets are much cheaper. Some of the closest row tickets at some shows can range from about 35-65 euro which is great value. I think reasonably any show you go to is guaranteed fun. I enjoyed my experience so much in the 3 shows I seen last year I’m going to see at least 4 more this year.

Great place to catch a sunrise close to the docklands. The building it self looks cool. Great design. It does get very busy during the summer with people meeting up there. Was never inside the building itself. Not a theatre goer lol. Short walk and your out on the quays of the city. Plenty of shops and restaurants around the area aswell....

Excellent place to enjoy international musicals and shows. The facilities are very good. The staff is nice and they also sell spirits and drinks/snacks to consume before the show and during intermission. You will have a great view for any part in the theatre.

Beautiful theatre, great show only drawback was that we had to walk up to Floor 4 which was ok for us but if we were less able, it would have been a different story as only 1 lift was working. But otherwise a great venue

We attended a children's show, and it turned out to be a delightful experience. The theater's stage and seating area were truly impressive, boasting a beautiful design and ample space. The cleanliness of the venue was commendable, and the sound system delivered an excellent performance. The only downside was that the cooling was a bit too chilly, and the souvenir shop offered items at a rather high price.

What a gorgeous theatre. We were thrilled to see the stunning Dirty Dancing show last night, I highly recommend it. The theatre itself is very impressive, with a lovely spacious lobby and bar area, large and clean restrooms, and very spacious and comfortable seating in the auditorium. Unlike some theatres it is much less of a battle squeezing past people in the seats at the interval. The room was at a comfortable temperature to enjoy the show, and the sound was excellent. We sat in stalls row D which was perfect. I would like to experience a balcony seat another time. The only minor issue us that the prices in the shop are unfortunately extortionate. €11 for a 125g bag of Minstrels, a bottle of Coke Zero and a Bounty. The usual gouging of people at an event, the Irish way. But overall, a very memorable experience.

Biggest theatre we’ve been in (it feels like) for Dirty Dancing. I love this theatre. This is my third time here. The acoustic is excellent and audiences are very responsive to us. So much stage and backstage space it feels two shows could be going on simultaneously. The quirky thing about this theatre is they have light sensors in all the rooms. This can be inconvenient when you’re in the toilets and it goes pitch black and the sensor doesn’t reach your stall. You better hope you have your phone with you! I do every time now.

Great night out. Box seating wasn't too expensive compared to regular seating but a bit of the stage does get cut off from the left in box C.
Howth Head Peak offers a bracing hiking trail with stunning sea, cliff, and lighthouse views. It's particularly tranquil at night, making it an ideal spot for a peaceful evening. The well-signed coastal walk leads to the peak, where visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of Dublin Bay and South Dublin. The 12km route is quite taxing, requiring a decent level of fitness. However, the flat terrain makes it an amazing hike that allows visitors to disconnect from the city and connect with nature.
Lovely spot for a walk, lovely views. There are a few different routes of walks as well. I would advise people that you would probably need to get there early to get parked.

First time doing the coastal walk, and it was fabulous, It's very well signed, so the chances of getting lost are slim. It's lovely that it brings you into Howth so you can stop for a coffee and snack in one of the eateries at the market. I chose the 12k route, and it was quite taxing, so a decent level of fitness required for this anyway . All in all, it is a fantastic way to spend a few hours taking in some gorgeous scenery.

Amazing hidden gem 💎
This place offers one of the most mesmerizing views of the coast of Howth. Many movies has used these views and I loved to see this place and its in my favorite list since then.
Parking is free and almost always available. Beautiful paths on the cliff but not good for children because of uneven paths and dangerous bends.
If you want to bring kids, you can still go and have walk on simple paths but then you will have to stop and go back.
I have recommended this place to all my friends and they all loved it.
Glendalough Cathedral is a significant monastic site in Ireland that was established in the 6th century by St. Kevin. The ruins of this ancient monastic settlement lie between two lakes, hence its name Gleann da Loch which means 'Valley of the Two Lakes'. It features a 1000-year-old round tower, ruined cathedral and St. Kevin's Kitchen church. Glendalough is known for its forested walks, plentiful wildlife and beautiful valley location.
Glendalough is a beautiful place! We went with a tour from Dublin, which allowed us only 1,5 hours to explore. I would highly recommend driving here yourself so that you have a lot more time. The lakes and natural scenery is spectacular and the ruins are really interesting. Would suggest you bring an umbrella in case!

What an amazing place. Great food, coffee trucks. Free to see the monastery and round tower (you pay €4 for parking) and can go inside the visitor centre for €5 to see an exhibition and video about different monasteries around Ireland. Great walk around the lake too.
Lisa O'Leary — Google review
This wonderful historical site features one of the foremost round towers associated with one of the pivotal moments in Irish history. It is a super example of an architectural style that was built to last. It was erected almost a thousand years ago and, theoretically, was to protect the wealth of art and literature, being amassed by the monks, from Viking invaders.
Aside from the substantial historical importance, it is situated in Wicklow, often referred to as the Garden of Ireland. A stunning location a stone’s throw from beautiful lakes and mountain walks.
I highly recommend this as a perfect location to visit for anybody looking for inspiration or a simple retreat from the world. On a calm day, when the lakes are like glass, and you escape the main crowd, it can be the essence of serenity.

Very suggestive place in a wild part of the Wicklow mountains. Must visit as part of a drive through the area. You can pay a short visit or take one of the paths and go for a lovely walk around the lake or through the forest and bring a picnic. Can be very busy and although there are loads of carpark spaces it can fill up quickly and the main road is quite narrow. We went there on Stephen's day and the public toilets were closed, a pity. Also luckily there was a food truck which has quite a good selection of savoury and sweet snacks and hot and cold drinks. The main restaurant was also closed. Can be very cold so dress appropriately.

We enjoyed our visit here and spent more time than expected! It was a beautiful day so after exploring the ruins we decided to do a few of the trails. We found the trail map a bit confusing and ended up on a much longer trail to the falls than we were hoping for but luckily it was still all beautiful scenery to enjoy. We were there on a Sunday in October and it was busy with tour buses, families and many cars but it never felt too crowded since there's so much space to share.

They said is one of biggest waterfall from Ireland.
You have to pay for entrance, is about 6€ per adult and kids some less. It is clean, they taking care about the park. Only the thing that I did not liked, is that they closed at 5:30PM in winter time, which is until May month. We should leave while sun stil was shining.

This place was a random search on Google when we planned on a trip on the spot. We hired a GoCar and reached the place in an hour. The roads towards the place was so beautiful. Bends and curves that makes you cruise down with a smile. The best view was after we parked our car and walked towards the view. The waterfall seen through two huge trees blew our mind. It felt like it was calling us towards it!! The landscape was so calm and peaceful to the eyes and mind. We were so lucky to spot the world's fastest Falcon through some of the loveliest bird spotters and their lenses. We trekked towards the bottom of the waterfall and sat there for hours. We lay dead and peaceful as we witnessed the beautiful waterfall. This was one of the best experience one could get for some peace of mind out of the everyday hassle. This was indeed an escape towards nature!

It's one of my kids' favourite places. 😍 The park is gorgeous! There is a pretty comfortable parking, coffee shop, toilets, and kids playground zone pretty close to the waterfall. People come over for picnics and BBQ here as well. But we always walk around and enjoy nature and beauty. Some days there are lots of people, some days the park is almost empty. I've got a soft spot for waterfalls, and honestly, Powerscourt Waterfall in Wicklow, Ireland, was like falling in love all over again with nature's magic! Found in the midst of the beautiful "Garden of Ireland," this spot has it all – tranquility, gorgeous views, and the perfect opportunity to be one with nature.
The journey to the waterfall itself was pretty fantastic, surrounded by sheep-dotted fields, inviting green hills, and a lovely display of local plant life. When I finally arrived, I was stoked to see how well taken care of everything was – clean and clear pathways, enough parking, and a cozy café to chill at. Plus, the tickets were fairly priced for such a wonderful place.
Let me tell you, when you catch that first glimpse of the 121-meter-high Powerscourt Waterfall, it'll sweep you off your feet! It's both mesmerizing and enchanting, with the constant water rush filling the air, and the tall trees and lush greenery creating this little wonderland for visitors. Walking along the river and going through the wooded paths was such a treat. Plus, there's a playground, so it's perfect for families too.
If you're planning a visit, don't forget to soak up the breathtaking scenery of Powerscourt Waterfall, fill your lungs with that fresh Irish air, and snap some envy-worthy pics to share with your pals. This hidden paradise is perfect for all you nature lovers, families, and folks out there in need of a break from the daily grind. Long story short: do yourself a favor and don't miss the chance to experience Powerscourt Waterfall in Wicklow, Ireland.

Great place for families. If the weather is fine, you can spend the entire day by the waterfall, enjoying the atmosphere, grilling barbecue or bathing in the sun. Not a great walk, though, the forest and the cliffs and the paths are fenced all the way through, so you're kinda trapped in this beautiful valley. However, the view of the waterfall is truly breathtaking.

We arrived at the waterfall parking about 11am in a public holiday. The weather was overcast and cool but no rain- we were pleasantly surprised no one was there except 2 other families. The scenic drive from the gate to the parking was beautiful, go slow and enjoy! There was a ton of parking available. The building house a cute refreshment/snack stand and pressed coin machine for a small trinket. This was also where the bathroom are located. I was surprised to see such a large nice play ground for the children, big and small. There is ample grassy areas for picnics. There are also scattered picnic tables throughout the property. Most of the walking trail is paved, but would still recommend good walking shoes. The waterfall is breathtaking and listening to the waterfall and stream is so peaceful. What an enjoyable afternoon we had. A little tid-bit, at the front gate you are able to buy fresh honey made right there- 10€ cash or tap!

In addition to the tours, there is a store selling clothing and home goods that are made on site. The factory store is well-stocked for shoppers seeking unique items. There is also a lunch counter serving tasty meals on location.
Lovely place to go especially on a sunny day...we went a bit hiking then there ... shop+ live music ( don't know they play everyday or just Sunday)+ lunch if you want...

A lovely little slice of history. The Avoca mills are the oldest in Ireland.
We pulled up in the car park up the road in Avoca and visited the church before walking up the road to the old mill. The buildings were brilliant and the shops full of the mills produce. Find tapestry and handwoven crafted items.
The mills team were very kind. We didn't do the tour or stop in the cafe as it was only a quick visit.
Would highly recommend.

My 14 year old and I visited Avoca last week.I love Avoca stores. This is the original location and where the fabrics are actually made. We took a tour with Allan. Wow. Fascinating history. Allan was wonderful and funny. The tours helped us appreciate Avoca even more.
Products are high end and beautiful. Each of their shops are expertly curated. The best place for gifts. Scarves, blankets, coats, throws, tea pots, food, candles.,
From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the staff. Really impressed by Avoca. Rich history. This is a special place. Coco Chanel would use Avoca fabrics.
Cafe: pleasant spot. They have salads and sandwiches and high quality food. As for the cafe, the coffee is terrible. They also need more gluten free options.

Great to see this place open again, we picked up lots of the fridge takeaway food which was sooo good. Unfortunately they didn't have any gluten/dairy free treats/food in the cafe part, would be nice to see this come in and Oat Milk! (The Oatly brand is the business as the Alpro brand tastes strange)
:-) see you soon!

Found a nice place to visit on the weekends- Avoca Handweavers wasn’t crowded on a cloudy day and we’ve got a personal guided tour on the mill with Jeff. Delighted with how interesting and inspiring was the tour! Thank you very much!
Then had shopping and lunch in the Avoca cafe. All dishes were delicious!

After seeing some knitted goods in stores around Ireland, my wife and daughter decided they had to make a stop here. So we went out of our way and found Avoca Handweavers. A beautiful and historic location with an opportunity to see the process up close, a well stocked factory store and a really good lunch counter. Win, win, win.

Lovely place to discover the oldest business still in activity in Ireland.
Allan is a friendly guide to talk to and the guided tour is worth is if you want to learn about the process.
Definately a visit to make when you are in the Wicklow county.

We took the tour with Jeff and enjoyed it immensely we found it very informative and interesting and enjoyed taking photos on the traditional loom! Stayed for lunch in the café and sat for a while down by the river at the picnic benches. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area

It's such a beautiful spot with gorgeous woven blankets. The store is a feast for the eyes and the cafe fills the tummy. No tours in winter but you can peer in the windows.

Our visit was amazing! Allan provided a fantastic tour of the Mill! We learned so much of the history. He was incredibly knowledgeable. It made us appreciate our purchases from the store even more to see how the blankets and scarves are made on site. Lunch at the cafe was delicious. We had visited 20 years ago and have such wonderful memories of Avoca Handweavers. This trip was even better than we remembered! Highly recommend.

***We felt true dedication from the tour guide Jim, you could hear the passion in his voice***
The history behind the place really ties with Irish heritage, it was great to hear all the stories, you really appreciate the dedication from the people who worked there in the past but also who are there today.

The Mill at Avoca Village, Kilmagig Lower, Avoca, Co. Wicklow, Ireland
South Stack Lighthouse, a 19th-century landmark, is situated on a small island and offers seasonal guided tours. The lighthouse provides stunning views of Holyhead and is surrounded by thousands of nesting birds and other wildlife on South Stack Island. Visitors can also stop by Halen Mon HQ to witness the production of world-famous Anglesey sea salt or enjoy fresh seafood at The Lobster Pot restaurant.
Located two miles west of Holyhead, RSPB South Stack is a stunning nature reserve overlooking the sea that is home to numerous rare bird species. The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) reserve is particularly significant for its up to 9000 seabirds that nest here, including guillemots, razorbills and puffins between May and June.
Great location. Fantastic facilities, including shop, café and toilet.
The staff were very friendly and informative.
There is a viewing house overlooking the cliffs with free to use telescopes and binoculars.
Saw a lovely Peregrine Falcon.
Bob Craske — Google review
Stunning views of the lighthouse and surrounding coast. Lots of steps here to navigate but nothing too difficult. There are plenty of places to stop and rest on the way down/up. It's worth paying the money to visit the lighthouse where you can get more spectacular views. The on-site cafe is also nice. Good place to get a slice of cake after walking all those steps.
Martin Willis — Google review
Absolutely amazing place. The birds were an incredible sight to see. Saw my first puffins first chough and baby Gulls. The views are incredible. There are 400 steps to walk down which means 400 to walk back up so be mindful that it can be quite strenuous. I had a tour of the lighthouse which is charged I think around £9 but was worth it( just be mindful that to get to the top of the lighthouse there are some vertical stairs which are a tight squeeze). Beautiful place easy to find. Cafe and toilets on site
S Edwards — Google review
Most beautiful in summer on a light sunny day. The view is amazing. Maximum 30 minutes walk one way. Climbing the stairs back can be time taking, but worth the walk, worth the view. No ticket required to visit the lighthouse, but needs ticket to climb up. Enjoy amazing sunset in the evening.
Difficult to get parking, but we waited for 30-45 minutes and were able to get parking. Authorities are very supportive and they help you get parking. We asked to wait till a parking slot opens up rather than leaving.
Dog friendly place. Visit with friends and family or enjoy your solo trip. Must go here if you are visiting North Wales.

I took the long walk from Holyhead to South stack and this was a well deserved stop for a nice cup of coffee and something sweet . Beautiful views around , plenty of benches to rest in general this is a nice place to eat and relax after a long journey . This facility provides inside and outside sittings , a coffee shop , a gift shop , toilets and car park . There is also a bird tower nearby but it was closed for some reason and don't forget that you can also visit hut circles ( a beautiful ancient monuments site ) which is around 5 minutes walk from here . All in all , a good experience .
Anna Tarczynska — Google review
Amazing views. Lucky that the sun came out just at the right time. Free parking after 5pm, but only £2 for an hour if you get there before that. You'll need longer if you want to walk down to the lighthouse. The steps looked steep and the patch narrow, not for the feint heart but we can't really say as we were too late to try and the pathway closed.
Martin Hollingworth — Google review
Absolutely stunning. I would highly recommend the walk if you are able. There are several car parks dotted around. If you want a bit of a coastal walk to get to the light House park further away, if you'd rather just see south stack you can park right above it. Plenty of options and we'll worth a visit. It's a beauty! Great cafe nearby too.
Emily Emz — Google review
It's always great to visit. But it's becoming more popular over the years. The cafe car park can be full if it is park in the lower rspb car park and walk up the coastal path towards the watch tower.
From there you can get a great view of south stack and it's a small climb to the cafe facilities.
Franco Cargius — Google review
A beautiful day for some stunning views. We drive to the top and parked up - being at the entrance of the path leading to the lighthouse. We passed on venturing due to mobility issues. We took photos and then back down the hill for a snack. Parking is one way - that doesn’t stop people going the wrong way and getting that parking spot first! We finally found a disabled bay and went for lunch - a beautiful setting.

Great place for a wander but be warned there are lots of steps, lots of them...
Parking is £5 all day, good cafe facilities with restroom.
Knowledgeable staff on hand to answer your questions. You can easily spend a few hours here...

We were lucky enough to visit on an absolutely stunning day. The staff were informative and very welcoming as well. The walk to the lighthouse is staggeringly beautiful, some of the prettiest visas I've ever seen. The wait time for the tower tour can be a little lengthy, but the epic scenery more than makes up for it, and makes a perfect place to stop and rest before you ascend the tower!

Good amount of parking but if you're lucky there is some lay by parking Justa a little further up the road.
Nice shop too. Lovely views. Can't comment on he lighthouse as it were closed due to weather.

Car park was full when we arrived. Managed to get a space on the road nearby, otherwise it would have been a very short visit. Spectacular views and scary paths. System at cafe was a bit confusing at first and it wasn't obvious where to find a menu, but the food (scone) was very good.

We luckily chose a lovely sunny day to visit and parked in the car park at the visitor centre (pay & display).
We took a short walk to the cliff top area overlooking the lighthouse, which sits on an outcrop jutting out into the sea. Great views.
If you're energetic, you can walk down to the lighthouse and back again.

Absolutely beautiful views, scenery and walk. A chilly blustery day but so enjoyable to walk for a couple of hours getting pink cheeks and 13,000 steps in!
Highly recommended, toilets on site and reasonably priced car park.

A beautiful place to visit, but can be expensive if you visit the lighthouse and have food. We went on the off chance with little research. It is £1 an hour or £6 all day parking. we went in the small carpark at the bottom there is a bigger carpark by the visitors centre. We ate at the visitors centre which was pricey but nice home cooked food. There is a lot you can do on a cheap budget and it was an enjoyable morning out.

This is a gorgeous place. The landscape is amazing. We visited after nesting season, so we are planning on traveling back again when the seabirds are nesting between April and July. Note: we still saw lots of birds, including several Chough. We also visited the hut circles nearby. They are so well preserved and excellent examples of Bronze Age construction. Recommend this site for bird and history enthusiasts.

Amazing mesmerizing view. I would highly recommend the walk if you are able. Lots of car parking areas around. A coastal walk to get to the light House park further away would be amazing. On Stena Estrid for a quick visit to Dublin.
On arrival at the port, check-in and security checks are carried out efficiently, and as I was a foot passenger, I was transferred to the boat by bus. On the whole the port experience was good, with all of the staff being very approachable and friendly.

Caught the 09:00 ferry to Dublin. The check in process was smooth and efficient. There's a little cafe before you check in, but very little after that. It doesn't matter too much, because very quickly we were escorted onto a shuttle bus that takes you to the ferry, a five minute drive away. The facilities on the ferry were first class. All of the public areas were spotless, warm, and comfortable. The restaurant is open immediately, even before you set sail, with a great selection of breakfast items and hot drinks. Watch out on the return trip, I got caught out. They stopped serving food at 16:15. It was my fault, I didn't hear the announcement. With a duty free one day trip, it cost me £12 to go to Dublin and back in a day. You can't beat that.

Mind your checked in items, electric scooter got stolen on board.
I was a foot passenger on a ferry from Holyhead to Dublin, traveling with an electric scooter.
Once arrived the scooter was not there anymore. They let me bring the scooter on the bus from the terminal to the ferry and they also suggested to leave the scooter on the bus saying that the bus would have been locked. Surprised of that I took some photos.
The bus does not get locked at all!
After raised the question immediately, i asked to investigate on board checking the cctv cameras and after 2 weeks from the fact I did no receive any response email or calls or any other support from any of the people I contacted. To date no one replied and the scooter is still missing!

Happy with Stena Line, had consistently good experiences travelling with them on this route. Staff are amazing, helpful and cheerful, always with a smile. Beautiful facilities on the ship. Took a cabin for the first time this trip and were impressed how roomy and comfortable it was. Main pleasant surprise that it was air-conditioned, coming in from 30° heat outside. Had a wonderful, if short, sleep in the comfortable bunk, and wished the crossing was longer! Lovely duty-free shop. Restaurant gets very busy in summer crossings.

Just made return journey with Stena line (Adventurer) between Holyhead and Dublin. Can't find a fault with anything on both ways. Staff was very helpful and knew what they were doing. We started in a cabin of 4 and these were very clean on both journey. I will surely travel with them again. Highly recommended!

Used Stena Estrid.
Lovely boat and modern compared to the Adventurer. But please change the chef or hire "a chef". The quality of food is abysmal and choice is worse especially in the Truckers lounge. Realistically I wouldnt serve the food to a dog. Need to raise the quality of the food to Irish Ferries standards or you will lose customers and Hauliers.
3 stars for the food. Boat and staff are 5 star!!

Superb trip on a fine day. Our first journey from Holyhead to Dublin since before the pandemic(we have travelled recently from Fishguard) and everything ran smoothly boarding the car and ourselves. The ship is very well appointed and a pleasure to travel on. We were welcomed into the Stena Plus lounge with its extras and marvellous views out to sea... but tbh the seating, facilities for young and older alike and views throughout the boat are great. All in all a truly memorable experience. (including particularly the availability of a non-dairy coffee machine (but did vegan porridge escape the menu?!). Looking fwd to our return journey!!

Not a great trip, they were late loading and late leaving. No where comfy to sit and snooze unless you paid extra. Very good coffee though and friendly Norwegian staff. Plus parents need to control their kids and stop them running around and shouting on a late night crossing, didn't enjoy the 3 hour drive home being so tired.

Also, the mattress and all the bedding was super soft, so had a great 3 hour kip

Not to busy when we travelled before Christmas to Ireland. Passenger area after security is good looking, clean and roomy. They should invest in bigger carpark for passengers leaving the car behind as the current parking area is laughably small for the amount of people going through the port. Still prefer travelling with Stena Line than Irish Ferries.

Had a pleasant journey to Dublin on the Stena Adventurer. The staff on-board were pleasant, friendly and helpful. The loading/disembarking process could have been a bit slicker but we got out without too much fuss. Make sure you check the dimensions of your vehicle - we booked extra high as we were taking bikes on a roof rack. Our return journey was on the Stena Estrid which was definitely the nicer and more modern of the two ships we travelled on.

Good place to go if it wet, not much there but we did have a lovely walk around the cliff tops.
We were staying in aberdaron and took the short drive out here and so glad we did, beautiful beach very unspoilt a few rock pools and gorgeous expanse of sand. There's a national trust carpark at the top with toilets and a short steep walk down the lane to the beach. Definitely worth a visit if in the area.

We have visited many beaches on the Llyn Peninsula and this is our favourite.
The golden sand is beautiful. The beach slopes gradually into the sea, ideal for children to enjoy the sea safely. Please note however, there is no life guard at this beach.
At both ends of the beach there a rocks which create lots of rock pools with great interest.
The Welsh Coastal path runs past this beach.
The beach has an excellent cafe and toilets. A National Trust Car Park is at the top of a steep hill.

"Whistling sands," a beautiful beach. Lovely and clean with clear water. 5 min walk downhill from a National Trust car park; the walk back up the hill at the end of the day isn't fun 🤣 drinks and ice cream available from the coffee shop on the beach. Toilets on the car park were nice and clean on the day we went. Car parking is reasonable and free for NT members if you have your NT card to scan the QR code.
Laura Jump — Google review
Beautiful beach owned by National Trust. We did the little circular walk (starting at the car park) around the top as well then continued on the coastal way to the other side of the beach before coming down. The cafe stocks good ice cream and serves pizza / fish finger style food, though can't comment on how good that is. I did just about hear squeaky sand on the far side behind the rocks!
For accessibility, the ramp down from the car park is good condition though slightly steep.
Would be great if there were bins available somewhere, even if in the car park. We didn't find them if there are any.

Beautiful beach! We went in the early 90's when our children were little. Went back last week with our Eldest daughter who's now 36 with her two children. They loved it!
The only thing that's changed is that they now have toilets at the bottom of the hill which is a bonus, and the shop on the beach sells alot more on the menu.

Beautiful place. Definitely glad we have discovered it. The beach is stunning! Sand is golden! Water crystal clear! There is also cafe just around the corner literally seconds away. Unfortunately it was closed on the day that we went but I can only imagine how busy it must get on a beautiful sunny day. There are also nice walks on the surrounding cliffs so there is also that if seating on the beach is not your thing.

Beautiful beach, white sand clear water and amazing views of the cliffs. This beach also has a cafe and four toilets which is very helpful. The sea water is very cold though so you may find that you can't swim in it properly even on a hot day. But there's still so much to see and do especially if you climb up to see the surrounding views from the cliffs. I would definitely recommend coming here since it feels like you're abroad.

This is one of the most beautiful beaches, I have been to, far from civilisation, no hotels, no houses, nothing modern around, just pure nature
Dita Nash — Google review
Absolutely stunning beach especially if the sun is shining. I visited here mid week at the end of June, the car park is spacious and costs £5 for the day with 2 x toilets which were very clean, unfortunately there is no alternative to pay for a short stay (it is definitely worth the fee even for a short visit as it's owned by the National Trust). There is a steep path which you have to walk down that leads towards the beach, there is a cafe on the beach which was open & more additional toilets on the path that leads down. The beach was sandy & the sea was very calm & clear, there were a few people sunbathing as it's a sheltered bay so perfect for catching the rays. Be sure to take what you need from the car as the walk back to the car park means you have to go back up the steep path. It wasn't busy and a very tranquil spot, you could easily mistake this for being overseas with the beautiful scenery & crystal clear blue waters.

Very nice beach with a path along the top.
There is also a lovely cafe, and toilets.
I came across this walking holiday company by recommendation. They are called the Edge of Wales Walk and this title relates to the coastal footpath that goes all the way around the coast of the Lleyn Peninsula, now incorporated into the Wales Coast Path. The scenery is truly wonderful – lots of sandy beaches, craggy headlands, cliffs and open moorland. No industry there and lots of sheep, seals and birdlife. We chose to walk from B&B to B&B and the accommodations found were excellent. Our luggage was moved on each day and Peter and Simon were punctual and friendly and gave us helpful advice

This beach is just beautiful! The car park is very close to the beach, so you don't have to walk too far. This beach has breath taking scenery, places to walk and discover along the beach or up on the hill trail area which takes you to other parts of the beach and you can see what the place looks like from above (I highly recommend it as your pictures will be absolutely stunning). The toilets were also clean and not too far of a walk to get to!

Lovely Sandy, dog friendly beach. Great for families. Ice cream, pizza and other snacks available (be prepared to queue when busy). Gets very full in school holidays so arrive early for the best spots. Toilets available too. Wear some shoes when walking on sand as there are sharp pieces of shell everywhere and sand dunes hurt to walk bare foot through!
The sandy shoreline of Traeth Llanddwyn, located near Newborough Forest, offers stunning vistas of Snowdonia. A visit to the forest and beach is highly recommended for those with time to spare. The location boasts picturesque scenery perfect for a leisurely walk, with dogs also welcome in the area.
Beautiful spot. You cannot put a price on such beauty although they have tried and it's £2 for 2 hours parking and £7 for longer than 4 hours. It is worth the price however it is a shame that natural beauty spots have been commercialised. The access road has too many speed bumps and not enough passing places. Perhaps for the parking fee this should be reviewed. It is really a great spot.
Tip, as well as the lighthouses, if you head south you will get the best view of North Wales and Snowdonia, in my opinion.

The beach is truly a stunning sight, boasting a picturesque landscape that captivates visitors from all walks of life. With its crystal-clear waters and fine golden sand, it is an idyllic destination for relaxation and enjoyment. The beach authorities have done a commendable job in maintaining its pristine condition, ensuring that it remains a beautiful haven for beachgoers.
One aspect that sets this beach apart is its ample parking facilities. There's nothing worse than arriving at a beach only to struggle finding a parking spot. However, this beach has taken care of that inconvenience, providing visitors with plenty of parking spaces. This thoughtful feature adds to the overall convenience and accessibility of the beach, making it an attractive choice for families, groups of friends, and solo adventurers alike.
Despite the many positives, there is one area that could use improvement: the public toilets. Unfortunately, they have a rather inconvenient closing time, shutting their doors promptly at 5 PM. This can be quite frustrating for those who wish to spend more time at the beach, especially during the summer months when daylight extends well into the evening. It becomes a challenge for visitors who find themselves in need of restroom facilities after the designated closing time.
While the well-maintained beach and ample parking undoubtedly contribute to a positive experience, the limited availability of public toilets after 5 PM presents an issue that should be addressed. Providing extended hours or alternative restroom options would greatly enhance the overall visitor experience and alleviate the inconvenience faced by those who wish to enjoy the beach beyond the designated closing time.
In conclusion, this beach offers a splendid experience with its breathtaking beauty, well-maintained surroundings, and ample parking facilities. However, the limited availability of public toilets after 5 PM can be a drawback for visitors. By addressing this issue, the beach authorities can ensure that all visitors can fully enjoy the beach without any inconvenience or time constraints.

Beautiful long stretch of beach with an adjacent forest for lovely walks! Dogs are permitted on certain areas of the beach in summer but are free to run their legs off through the forest! Very popular place as it’s ideal for all sorts of sports as well - big car park which is barrier controlled with number plate recognition and pay on exit with card - quite a long drive down to the car park through the forest with a narrow road and speed bumps. Public toilets on the car park as well. Lots of trails off in the forest sign posted. Worth the walk out to Holy Island at the top end of the beach but beware the tide as you can get cut off.

Gorgeous beach. Only went late afternoon so didnt sit on beach. Large carpark. Plenty of walking opportunities. Beach backed by woodland. Great views.

Excellent beach for dog walking, the best we've visited on Anglesey 🏖
Massive space to walk, stretching around 2 miles of sand. Fantastic views towards the mainland and vast seascape.
The beach also has a mix of sand dunes and forest along the coast, offering a great variety of locations to walk in. Had a great time and would definitely recommend.

Lovely wide open section of beach with a pine forest trail near by excellent for Hikers or Mountain Bikers .Fantastic sand dunes that run all the way down behind the beach front. Fantastic for family beach fun and a car park nearby. On the whole a very clean beach if people remind themselves to take there rubbish away .

Lovely big carpark and the beach is large and clean and if you visit in the evening has wonderful sunsets. The walk to the island takes about 20 minutes and should be timed with the tide to allow you to get across….and back again. There are some lovely little coves on the island and some interesting features like ruins, lighthouses, cliffs and statues etc. Certainly a lovely place to visit just a shame the loo closes at 5 which is ridiculous because it gives people no alternative than to go off-road as it were.

Beautiful beach! Worth visiting. Recommended for a nice long walk. Also a good spot for kitesurfing. There was a very big parking with toilets just near the beach. Parking was £2, card payment at the exit. Toilets were free.

Weather was great also.
Nice picnic benches and lovely rocky/sandy beach. Lots of shells also!

Lovely beach and forest with the added benefit of a view of the snowdonia mountains. Simply gorgeous location and perfect for a walk. Dogs are allowed too. Car park is a bit expensive. When we went it was £2 for 2 hours and extra 40 pence per 20 minutes there after. There are other car parks available on the main road but I don't know the price of them.
Aside from the cost of the parking, I highly recommend a visit.

On a short break away and went for a nice evening walk around 7ish. It was surreal weather, windy, sunny, cloudy but utterly, utterly stunning...

Absolutely stunning beach. Huge beaches that look out to sea then the mountains in the distance. Separate beach sides for dogs to left and no dogs to the right. The island is just brilliant to go explore loads of hidden small beaches. Check tide times dont get stuck out there! Good for water sports or just a stroll. A must go to beach! Even if its windy trails through the woods. Very good parking available.

Good views and the island was a great experience. Weather was windy but it didn't put us off and I'm glad it didn't, the car park was a looooong walk from the island, took us around 4 hours with kids to complete the whole walk (the sign suggests 3 hours). Be wary of the tidal times as the island gets cut off at high tide.

Beautiful place. Check signs for parking prices. Free to use toilets in the car park. Ice cream there on our visit. Plenty of picnic tables. Beach was spotless walk up to the light houses was well marked. We got to see seals on the rocks.
Walk around the woods try to spot a red squirrel as you go.

Awesome place. Well looked after, clean and tidy. Easy system for payment, no bother, just tap your card on exit at the barrier. Toilets were well looked after. Great walks in all directions. Over the dunes, into the forest and onto the island and lighthouse when the tide is out.

Large car park which is good value. Currently £2 for 2 hrs and then 40p for every extra 20 mins up to a max of £7. Fabulous long sandy, shallow water beach and interesting pilgrimage places to visit on the small peninsula. Nice day out.

Plenty of space to park. Close to the beach and trails to walk through the forest. A few miles round trip if you want to walk to Ynys Llanddwyn which is beautiful and well worth a visit. Can also see red squirrels on the trails through the forest. Dogs were permitted on the right hand side of the beach when we visited in early September as well as on the island and forest trails. Be aware of semi wild ponies on the island

Spacious car park, toilet, water refill area, picnic tables, bbq area. Ice cream van and coffee later in the day.
Such a lovely place loads of hidden coves but accessible. First time visiting the place but before we even left we already planned to come back.
Parking fee is worth is. I think its auto calculated upon exit.

Nice large car park, that leads pretty much straight on to the beach. And of course, into the woods. I can imagine it gets very busy during summer months, but on a windy February day, lots of space! And toilets were cleaned regularly. The parking machine on the way out is slightly confusing but we managed.

A great car park as so near to the beach. Across the sand dunes and you can either go along the beach and then to the island. Check for low tide of course. Though you most probably still need wellies even then as rock pools are still at the crossing. If you feel like a hike there is a climb to the island also to the left. Also from the car park you can walk in the woods which are huge. They wrap around the beach and are easy walkways to follow. There are different routes from easy to difficult. Bikes, horses and even ordnance. A wonderful place that literally stretches for miles if you wish or a gentle stroll.

Beautiful walk from the carpark, be sure to check the tide times though before you leave the car park. Just a shame some people feel the need to leave dog poo bags behind, please remember your dog is your responsibility

The perfect place.
If you want to have a reset then this is the place. It’s like a scene from a film with its forest, bays, beaches, views and peninsula. We went here when staying in Bangor. The views of the Snowdonia national park in the distance are simply lovely. I feel for the best experience you should go back to the car park in the late afternoon and walk through the forests following sea. Come out at the next clearing north and the view is amazing.
Jason Baxter — Google review
This is a fantastic beach, looks wonderful and it is very peaceful and empty. There are fantastic views of the mountains and sea from the beach. Be careful if you want to go to the island to check the tide time, as if the tide is coming in, you will not have enough time to visit the island and come back as the sea will cut you off completely.
The forest around it is gorgeous. You can walk or cycle there. The views of the mountains from the beach are incredible. The walk from the car park to the island is over 30 min. You can walk through the beach or beach and forest to get to the island. Then there is further 25 min walk from the beginning of the island to the end. Maes Parcio Ynys Llanddwyn car park is huge and it has toilets. The car park has registration number recognition so it scans your arrival time and then you pay with a card on a barrier on a way out.
There is a van park with drinks and snacks at times.

Went here for a visit with my partner, plenty of parking which costs 7 pound for a full day which I think is reasonable, toilet facilities and ice cream and brew wagons there.
The beach stretches forever... Plenty of space to relax and do your own thing, beware the times you visit as the tide plays it's part on how much you can visit etc, we even went in the sea for a swim and were the only 2 on the small beach we found. Wonderful day all round.

Amazing place. Quite beautiful. Fabulous walk along the beach and then a clamber over grass covered dunes to see the church ruins, the ponies and the lighthouses. A long walk back through pretty wooded areas. The cost of parking was a pleasant surprise. Would definitely come back.
The Anglesey Sea Zoo is an impressive venue that showcases the wonders of conservation through its captivating shark pool and exciting live diving displays. Visitors can also enjoy a cafe within the premises.
Really fantastic experience with such a wide variety of species to see. Staff were really friendly, even lending brolleys to people in our party because of the rain when walking to the zoo. On the tad expensive side, especially the gift shop, but the experience was worth it.

Brilliant place! Even whilst incredibly busy during a wet summer holiday day, staff were incredibly friendly and apologetic for how busy it was, even if most people expect waits during summer holidays, there is a little crazy golf course outside £2 child £3 for adults. The bouncy castle was free but wasn't working with the windy wet weather. Well worth a visit!

After visiting Blue Planet a few weeks ago and being highly disappointed, we decided to give Anglesey Sea Zoo a try, and we were beyond impressed! So much better, the staff are so lovely and informative, and the animals all look really happy, healthy and well cared for! It took us a good 2 hours to walk around the whole place, even with a the new refurbishment taking place, so one less thing to see temporarily!
Plenty of activities for people with kids, and plenty for the big kids to enjoy too! We'll definitely be going back again as soon as the refurbishments are done, we loved it! Can't wait to visit again!

This is a good attraction for families, or for adults without children. It's a great solution for what to do when the weather's not so great! There are a lot of tanks as you walk around all with very informative boards providing great descriptions. The end walkway with the fish beneath your feet is great and the very large fish tank at the end is amazing.
All the tanks in the centre appear to be very clean and the marine animals are very well looked-after. There are so many different exhibits but amongst my own favourites are the jellyfish and the little sea horses. There is a large pool for the rays.
A well-stocked gift shop with loads of gift ideas also trinkets and toys for the youngsters.
Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely little zoo. Felt very family oriented. Came when I was little, I'm now 43 and wanted my children to visit. Very much like I remembered, nostalgia at its best.
If you're looking for high end, dazzling SeaWorld facilities this isn't the place for you! But if you're looking for a friendly, quirky, family oriented facility with lots of British Ilse sea life this is definitely the place for you.
Only downsides were having to wait over half hour in the rain with no shelter and cars coming and going very, very close to us to enter the zoo despite arriving just after 10am and nowhere to sit outside to eat that was sheltered.

Lovely little aquarium. Lots to see around the tanks and very well laid out. Shark tank was the highlight, although we couldn't really hear the gent giving the talk.
Plenty of onsite parking, although in better weather there's probably a lovely walk along the sea front.
Nice little cafe too for lunch. Staff clearly care for the fish, we went round twice but the tickets would let us in again this week if we wanted to.

Very lovely place to visit. It possibly needs a bit more local support to fund some better signage inside, and some general maintenance to the play area.
A pleasant surprise was the EV chargers and discount for entry if you have an EV.
We'll be back.

A 188 mile round trip to get here was definitely worth it. Had a nice afternoon out at Anglesey Sea Zoo yesterday. The aquarium is well laid out, lots of native species to see and learn about, as well as wall displays about the environment, and great displays of decor. A good place to view with or without children.
Views outside the aquarium are breathtaking.
They have plenty of parking, disabled entrance and disability friendly indoors.
Lovely little gift shop.
Didn't get to sample the restaurant as it was quite busy.
Will definitely return again.
Thank you for all your conservation work. Look forward to seeing the expansion when completed.

It's very small but then so are most other aquarium places. It was interesting and saw things hadn't seen before. Tickets are valid for a week so it's good if you get a rough couple days weather but to be honest if you just go the once and you are a family of 6 it's pricey for what it is

I have to say that I wasn't expecting much and we stopped in because our original plans got cancelled.
However, this is a little gem and is a perfect example of a very small business trying its best to create extra footfall. The zoo on its own is what I expected a small sea zoo to be. The zoo had added a small playground with a mini golf setup. They also put up a large inflatable slide for the children to use for free. It was a great spot for a picnic and a good way to keep my children of 2 and 5 years entertained for a few hours.

We enjoyed this visit. It takes about an hour to an hour and a half to go round. Part of it is really good but some of it requires a bit of a spruce up - not sure if this is a work in progress. There's a gift shop and some outdoor activities for children. It's worth a visit but sadly not the best aquarium I've been to.

What a great aquarium. I was not expecting much and chose to go on a whim as the weather was awful for any outdoor activities.
Great selection of fish.
Love the sharks and jellyfish in particular.
Our ticket was valid all week as well which was a bonus (although we didn’t use it).
We got there early and walked straight in, but by the time we left, the queues were very long.
Mihir — Google review
A really lovely aquarium that specialises in showing you creatures that are native to the waters off our coast. This is such a refreshing change from the tropical fish you see in most aquariums
Billy Heywood — Google review
The aquarium was good but not as a good as other places in the UK for the price we paid today. Some parts did seem a little run down and uncared for. I understand the costs are likely too high and being unable to find the staff won't help with matters but I'm unable to leave a good review purely out of sympathy for the managers and owners.
As for the cafe...
The coffee wasn't great, which was a shame. I'm not usually fussy about coffee but something wasn't quite right about it. We didn't order any food here, so I can't comment on that.
We may return in the future to see if things have improved.

Great to see native sea life, easy access for disabled, great little quizzes for children as they go round. Careful though as exit is through shop and café! Outside is a play area/mini golf course. Dogs are not allowed in centre, however they do have outside kennels under trees (ask for padlock at desk, no charge) also have dog poop bin and can sit at outside tables of cafe with them. Overall, great place for all ages to learn about the importance of our seas and the life it supports and how we need to Protect it.

This imposing castle, built in the 11th century, stands on an elevated spot overlooking the river Caernarfon. It offers a museum with exhibitions and family tickets, and is still in its original military style. The site has a rich and extensive history, dating back to Roman times - little is known about the fortifications but they prove that this castles heritage is vast. Today, visitors are captivated by the beautiful facade and surrounding scenery of this majestic castle.
Fabulous venue and so well presented. Great introduction of some new with the old. Loads to explore ( although would have liked a little more signage inside the maze of stairways, towers and rooms). Fabulous museum which could take up a whole separate visit. Highly recommended

Visited in August 2019 when during my Wales holiday. On the way to the town I drove through the national park early morning in the ever biggest rain I have seen in my life. It left a mark on my mood, so I could not really enjoy the castle. Anyway everything was wet and huge puddles sat everywhere, and this castle is full stone built with uneven surfaces, uneven staircases inside and out, too, mostly without hand rails. I managed a few staircases down and up too, but after a while I just had simply enough.
The view is beautiful, the castle is historic, and we can find some informational rooms, as well as a movie room about its history, and the coronation ceremony. It is definitely worth to visit, and I do not want to write anything bad just because I was moody that time. True, that I was not able to enjoy the castle as much as I wanted, due to the weather and my mood, and I spent there only about 2 hours. Neither it helped that it is a bit of a creepy place with its dark and narrow corridors and staircases, and the outside cloudy dark weather did not help to bring in some lights and warmth.. But this place is big enough to the whole family for a day out and I think kids can enjoy and learn while playing.
It has toilet/cafe and shop, of course the way out is always through the shops. I used none of them during my short visit. Parking is outside behind the castle next to the river, and they warned us to park as far as we can from the water, because it can be flooded after rain...

£40 for a family ticket is good value, but what you should do is buy the 3 day ticket which allows you into several castles for only £56.
Caernarfon was great for a good half day visit and staff member Edward was so very helpful and should get a pay rise!

Wonderful castle, it's nice to go round and explore. There is no right way to go round, so you can just go round and take in all the history. There are steep spiral staircases, which is to be expected in a castle! You can walk all the way round the top, and go up some of the towers to go higher. It is very well maintained and a good trip for anyone wanting to learn more about history.

I love Caernarfon. It’s a beautiful town.
We visited mid November, when tourism is at its lowest. It was certainly fascinating walking round and hearing everyone speak the local tongue. We actually felt like we were in a totally different country.
There are some fantastic bars and restaurants within the castle walls, it is also a very pretty place for pictures.
If visiting, please be mindful of the locals. They love their area, and would appreciate if you respect it as though it was your own. I know I would. And should you visit, you’d see why.

We loved our visit to the castle. It was interesting for all ages. Accessibility isn't great but that's to be expected from a castle. Luckily our 2 year old is good on his feet and he loved exploring. There is a coffee shop, toilets and for once the gift shop was reasonably priced with a wooden sword for £3 or a small wooden dagger for £2.50.

Excellent to visit such an intact castle. Great fun to climb each tower and to navigate the pleasingly maze-like interior of the walls and towers. Lovely views in several directions. Wow, what a beast of a castle. Absolutely stunning in colour and size. A fantastic castle with something for everyone. Great place to take the kids and it has the Welsh Fusiliers museum in its grounds. Some great exhibitions in the towers and halls. A must to see.
Ron Bailey — Google review
It is a great Castle in and of itself, which in the face of it offers good accessibility for the less abled. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a disappointment. Yes, you can explore the courtyard, but the lift to the tower was not available on the day we visited. Maybe because we were visiting in the off season (mid September)?
On top of that the Welsh Fusiliers Museum had a ramp, but no automatic door, so you could not get in on your own. Once in the museum, you were quickly faced with a step up, so no other option than to turn back if you are in a wheelchair or on a mobility scooter.
So I decided to have a cup of tea in the small cafe, while my husband explored the upper levels and the wall walk. However, here also steps to get in and no handrails!
I was most disappointed. Luckily as disabled person and carer entrance was free for us. Or else I would have asked for my money back.

Fantastic! Short 10 minute movie about history of castle and then lots of exploring throughout the grounds and castle walls. Museums pop up throughout the turrets. Loved it!
Not good for those with mobility issues. Walking in the walls can be treacherous. However, the basic castle grounds are fairly accessible and show off the lovely ruins. This castle is within a lovely village.

It's an amazing castle. We visited this castle on Sunday and it was kinda quiet. It has a museum inside which is rather interesting so it's a must! The castle isn't enormous so I think that less than 2 hours are enough to visit it all. If you feel like a coffee or some snacks, you can have a pause at the coffee shop they have in the castle. Besides, do not forget to take a look at the little shop at the end of your tour inside de Castle to get a nice souvenir of your visit :)

Had a great day at Caernarfon Castle. Family ticket was £40 (2 adults, 2 children) a bit on the expensive side for us. Visited with my husband and my two children along with my parents. My parents are English Heritage members so their admission was free - Cadw offer English Heritage members either reduced entrance fee or you get it free depending on how long you have been a member. We parked at the Slate Quay car park which is £4.80 to park all day and is literally behind the castle. What I absolutely loved about the castle was the wooden viewing platform that has a lift to it, this is fantastic for wheelchair users which I have never seen at any other castle I've visited, some would argue it spoils the historical value of the castle but I like that it is inclusive. Having the lift was great as my parents couldn't manage all the steps. The exhibitions in the Eagle tower were interesting. The views from the towers were lovely especially those looking over the sea and the river with boats. The disabled toilets were so well equipped with a harness, height adjustable changing station, privacy screen and plenty of room, well done for making the castle wheelchair accessible in some areas.

A beautiful castle located in the centre of town. Looked around it and then went for a wonder locally to the little stone beach and play park. There is a Wales eye 👁 at the back for a view of the town and castle. Enough to do for a day trip out. Local chippys are amazing.

Caernarfon Castle
Caernarfon, Wales
This massive castle from the late 1200s was a lot of fun to check out. Just like one of the castles we went to yesterday, you can walk all around on your own. From climbing up steep steps to get on top of the tallest tower to walking down dark passageways, there's just something about exploring amazing castles.
It took us over an hour to see everything we wanted to see and that was even with skipping a few parts as we much have walked up and down over 200 steps. There's a museum dedicated to Welsh soldiers in one section of the castle which was pretty interesting to check out.
The views from the towers are incredible and you can clearly see what an amazing fortress this would have been back then. Highly recommended.
Jef Henninger — Google review
The castle is worth a visit while in Wales. Unfortunately, we took a 3.5-hour excursion from the ship port, and it was not enough time to visit all parts of the castle. The tour of the castle provides the opportunity to see many rooms and areas. The views from the towers are breathtaking! The spiral staircase up to the tower is steep with limited space. If you have issues with tight spaces or mobility, you will want to pass on the climb to the top. There were approximately 100 steps to the top, with only enough space for one person.

Lovely big castle to walk round and explore! Lots of history here, lots to see and do! Wheelchair accessible for the main ground floor but not through the buildings. Lots of steps and nooks, crannies and towers to investigate, but watch those steep steps climbing the towers, just a rope to hang on to, can get very slippy! We went out of season so the main cafe was closed, the small cafe was open but was not step free to get in to warm up and dry off. Nice museum to be found in one of the buildings. Brilliant example of a castle, loved the exploring! Lots of car parking right next to the castle.

Really interesting visit. I managed to see quite a lot despite having mobility challenges. Keith in the museum was extremely helpful and a huge source of military knowledge. Would definitely go back and take friends. Good value

Amazing place lots to see and explore. I enjoyed the military museum explaining the history of the welsh regiment. It's definitely worth visiting. The staff are very helpful friendly and smiling even in cold wet weather.

If you like castles, this is a great one because it is such great condition. There are seven large towers to explore and the museum of the Royal Welch Fusiliers is located within the walls, fascinating and included in the entry price

Entry requires ticket. It’s a beautiful place. Lots of parking available. The Anglesey pub near by. Small town. Walk around the town and enjoy the castle views.

Absolutely amazing! We arrived at about 1pm and we were there until closing. Would highly recommend making a day of it, we missed a few bits because we ran out of time. Not for the faint hearted, lots of steps and heights. But really interesting!! Parking within the town was straightforward too. Really loved it. Will go back!

An absolutely stunning castle, one of the best preserved in the UK. Cadw do a wonderful job of preserving our national heritage and we should all be so grateful to have them, their staff are as always incredible.

We were here 14 years ago and remembered how lovely it was so visited again. Plenty of places to explore and lovely views from the castle

We are regular visitors over the years to Glasfryn Park, enjoying a day of wakeboarding in the main with Mark being the regular instructor who is very highly thought of. We have done karting, quads, aqua park and other activities. Over the years we have seen the park grow and develop. This year it was good to see new investment going on with the building of a new changing room block by the lakes. Glasfryn Park is not a super new facility and is like all business struggling with staffing in catering but if you take coffee and sandwiches you will have a fantastic time whatever the weather. This year (22) we paid £120 for 4 for 4 hours full on fun.

Really great place to go for a day out full out activities!
Had a go on the Go Karting, but unfortunately as I am quite short (5ft 3”), I couldn’t reach the pedals completely and I therefore had to come off as it was hurting my ankles to overstretch them. They did give me and my partner a refund thankfully which was good of them.
We decided to play two games of the bowling which was good fun as it had started drizzling a bit.
When the rain eased off, we went and did some archery! I’d never done it before, and it’s certainly harder than it looks, but it was really good fun and I’d definitely look to do archery again once I’m home after this.

Myself and my son went to have the Clay Pigeon Shooting experience and we absolutely loved it. The gentleman who led the lesson was clearly experienced and passionate about shooting. He was very friendly and supported us throughout the session making it a very enjoyable experience. Will definitely be back next month.

The customer service in this place was absolutely ridiculous. We got there, and we’re rushed to start our activities immediately even though the place was completely empty, she rudely told us to hurry. The coffee tasted like dish water, and very overpriced. The place hasn’t changed one bit since I was a child myself! It’s due a serious upgrade. Everything in there was full of dust, and had wrappers all over the seats in the bowling area. We had booked another game of bowling and were told an hour before that we had to do it now and couldn’t wait until the time we had booked for! My family wanted food, but we had to wait to play another full game until they could. Absolutely ridiculous.
The only good thing about this place is that the food portions are very generous for the price, and the man that works there was very chatty and enthusiastic, the young people are also polite. but the woman was very rude, and had no respect at all. We will NOT be visiting again!

Amazing!!! We did the aqua park and Mark who runs that section was just amazing! Really loved our time here and he was so good with the kids. We had 5 kids taking part ranging from 9 to 14, they all had a great time! The 47 year old kid had more fun then the kids!!! The place is easy to find and will give you hours of fun. Really worth a visit. Mark, you were incredible and really made this experiance so much better. Thanks again.

The kids done archery £8 each and junior go karting £15 each. Kids enjoyed it and want to go back to do the other activities. When we turned up there was plenty of parking spaces. Took 1hrs drive from shell island.

Went go-karting with family which was great fun. Then our 2 boys went on the water obstacle course which they really enjoyed. Worth a visit.

We visited here for a kids birthday party. On arrival it was obvious the place had seen better days. My first thought was that it would be a great set to film a horror movie. Areas around the attractions were messy and unkept. The toilet block and showers were in poor condition. But on a positive, all areas where the activities are looked tidy enough. My main issue was with the pricing. We took a party of 6 kids and the price was £32.50 for an hour on what is an inflatable assault course on a lake. Compare that with the sandcastle water park in Blackpool that has multiple slides and activities and that is only £15 per child for 3 hours. One positive was the staff were kind, courteous and helpful and very good with the kids. I think given some TLC and having some thought go into making some of the activities more affordable for families this could be a great attraction. If I heard it had had a makeover I would visit again and if it is more affordable I will change my review accordingly.

This place is fantastic!
Definitely does not get the recognition it deserves, we spent 2 separate days here, trying go karting for adults and children (children get to drive their own go kart!!), archery, aqua park and bowling!
The whole family throughly enjoyed themselves, it is fairly priced and all the staff are friendly! Even though we didn’t book online and turned up on the day both days they were able to fit us in very quickly with no hassle!
Could do with some TLC, however we expect covid has had an impact on this amazing adventure place which is a shame!
We could have spent the whole day here had there have been food served on-site ( that is the only down side).
Will be returning in the future and recommending to others.

Visited with the family we all had a great time. My 2 younger boys tried outdoor Go Karting for the first time, they absolutely loved it. We tried archery they was interesting but we fun.
We done ten pin bowling while on site.
They have bar / cafe / shop onsite, outdoor seating.

My last is only 12 so I went on the junior go-karting track with him, it was great fun! It's amazing how 10 minutes of racing can linger! Track is not bookable but there's no need as it's only 10 minutes. We did book for bowling though.
Alyosha Barnes — Google review
Website says book online, then bowling isn’t an option. When I phoned to book the woman had the worst attitude, interrupting me, no manners…we all know the type. Got booked in fine.
As we arrived there was the worst mini golf I’ve ever seen, which you have to pay to use. Inside was tired and dilapidated and in real need of some renovation. The “shop” was an old butchers that stunk with the windows and door boarded over. The cafe was shut.
We walked through to the bowling area where the same miserable woman served me as I spoke to on the phone, attitude still dreadful. Snappy and lacking any kind of customer service skill. She walked off without saying anything (I assumed correctly she went to get the card machine) but she never mentioned it. So I paid and off we went. The seats were damaged, the screens were ancient, the screen control was broken and covered in dirty old gaffer tape. The balls were old and dirty and lanes looked tired and old. It just needs a good clean and a bit of TLC.
The girls serving at the bar area were so slow. It took them a good 10 minutes to serve 3 people, stood there with their phones in their hands and taking any opportunity to face away and use them instead of service - don’t get me wrong they were polite enough when serving.
It just feels run down and no one cares about it, which is a massive shame because it has such good potential. Oh and the car park is full of pot-holes.

Had a fab time at the aqua Park ( 7/8/23) kids had a brilliant time. Staff made sure we tried all activities - staff really friendly and welcoming. Definitely visiting next year 😊

3x 16 year olds had a fab birthday of activities! Clay Pigeon Shooting, Archery, Outdoor Karting, Ten Pin Bowling, Pool table and Air Hockey table. The 9 hole Crazy Golf was a little tired, but we all still had a good laugh and fab day out. Best centre like this for a long way around, in all directions.
Traeth Marian-y-de Beach is a long, sandy beach that runs parallel to the promenade. It has a mixture of sand and shingle, and is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and dog walking. There is plenty of parking available, making it a popular place to visit.
Beautiful beach, with sand dunes to the rear, mixed sand and pebbles, half dog friendly in full season, plenty of room, for your fogs to enjoy, nice Harbour, which hubby enjoyed with a few marine related shops.

Lovely clean beach, dogs allowed on one side in summer, all along beach in winter. Plenty of parking available

Pebbly in places, but a good, expansive beach. Access could be better, as boardwalks down to the beach have very steep drops off the end, so not so good for those with limited mobility.

The beach is nice but the area was a bit of a ghost town, even when we visited on a warm June Saturday. Worth a visit, but there are nicer areas in the peninsula with better beaches (Criccieth, Abersoch and Ceiriad for example).

Look at THAT Beauty! This is an amazing beach with an amazing view. Its very quiet in the morning (at least when i was there), although a bit rocky its such a calm place to be just like any other beach. To get there its a 5min walk on the sand(from the car park) and it can be though😅 There's a pay&park but also just a few meters along the road a few spots weren't marked as one so we didn't pay and we stayed for the night aswell.
Recommended 👍🏾

It's an okay beach, very stoney. The parking was the biggest issue for me... no matter what time of year it is, its really expensive... you have to pay for a whole day even if you only want to stay for an hour, and even though there is plenty of it... its just overpriced.

Great beach. Mostly sandy with shingle at shore line on low tide. Can get deep quite close to the shore though.
The main area of the beach is restricted for dogs but is dog friendly at each end of the main beach.
Also a has a great cafe at one end of the promenade.
