One of the most beautiful and serene places. Location is well-known, and the view of the Chambal River is breathtaking. A short, level hike in an adventurous location. The Mahadev Mandir is quiet and peaceful and beautiful, with a nearby waterfall. You must pay a little price at the location that is under government totalitarianism. The most crucial factor is your own safety so that you can securely enjoy the location.

Raniji Ki Baoli is a well-known stepwell situated in the vibrant town of Bundi, Rajasthan. The stepwell was constructed in the 17th century by Rani Nathavati ji and is around 46 meters deep with intricate carvings and a pillared, arched entrance. It holds immense historical significance as it was treated like a temple in the past and revered as sacred.
Stepwells, the sacred structures!
The colorful town of Bundi is crowned as the city of stepwells. And a visit to Bundi is incomplete without visiting the most famous Raniji Ki Baoli.
Built in the 17th Century by Rani Nathavati ji, the stepwell is beautifully ornate like a Goddess. In fact in his stories, he local guide at the site describes the entire structure as a form of Goddess Durga and explain all parts of the baoli as representation of mother Goddess Durga. It is not surprising, all baolis were treated like temples in the past, highly revered and sacred.

A small step well right in the middle of Bundi city. The place lacks proper maintenance. It is dirty; full of bird droppings. The water in step well is stagnant and filthy.
The ticket (composite ticket) that gives access to two more places is ₹75 for Indians and ₹350 for foreigners. You can see the whole place in 10 minutes.
On Sunday afternoon we were the only tourist in there.

Rani Ki Ji Baori was built in 1699 by Rani Nathavati Ji, the younger queen of Rao Raja Anirudh Singh, ruler of Bundi. Rani Nathavati Ji was married to the king, as his second wife, because his first wife was not able to give him an heir. However, after Rani Nathavati Ji gave birth to a son, she was cast aside by the jealous first wife.
She turned her energies to public projects and building stepwells, and Rani Ki Ji Baori is the largest in Bundi. It’s a multi-storied structure, 150-feet deep, covered in intricate and superbly executed carvings.
The stepwell has a narrow entrance, with four pillars joined at the top by slender arches decorated by intricately carved stone brackets. Stone elephants stand in each corner. There are also places of worship on every floor, which is unique in a stepwell.
P.s. it is close at 5 p.m.

Beautiful to visit, but I would recommend reading about it in advance so you get an idea what this was for and why the Maharani built this for the public people. Try to find the sculptures below the water level. And try to come on a weekday when there are not many tourists, because the place unfolds it’s magic when it’s quiet and you are mostly alone there.

The history of Raniji Ki Baori can be traced back to the 17th century during the reign of Rao Raja Anirudh Singh, a ruler of Bundi. It was built by his queen, Rani Nathavati, and hence the name "Raniji Ki Baori" or "Queen's Stepwell". The stepwell was constructed as a community water reservoir and a place for the locals to access water for daily use, especially during the dry seasons when water scarcity was a common issue.
Raniji Ki Baori is known for its unique architectural design, characterized by a series of steps leading down to the water level. The stepwell is multi-storied, with several levels of steps and platforms adorned with intricately carved pillars, arches, and niches. The walls of the stepwell are adorned with intricate carvings of gods, goddesses, musicians, and mythological scenes, showcasing the artistic brilliance of Rajputana architecture.
The stepwell also features a pavilion or a pillared hall with beautifully carved pillars and arches, which was used as a resting place for the visitors and a venue for cultural and social events. The pavilion is adorned with frescoes depicting scenes from Hindu mythology and Rajput history, although many of them have faded over time.
Raniji Ki Baori was not only a functional water reservoir but also served as a place for social gatherings, cultural events, and religious ceremonies. It was an important social and cultural hub for the local community, serving as a place for social interaction and community bonding.
Over the years, Raniji Ki Baori has become a popular tourist attraction in Bundi, drawing visitors from all over the world who are fascinated by its unique architecture, historical significance, and intricate carvings. The stepwell stands as a testimony to the rich cultural heritage and architectural prowess of Bundi, reflecting the patronage of the rulers towards art and architecture during the medieval period.
In conclusion, Raniji Ki Baori in Bundi, Rajasthan, is a historically significant stepwell with a rich history that reflects the architectural brilliance of Rajputana culture. It serves as a popular tourist attraction and stands as a reminder of the cultural heritage and legacy of Bundi.

Taragarh Fort is an awe-inspiring historical landmark built in 1113 during the reign of King Ajaypal Chauhan. The fort boasts of remarkable architectural design and exquisite stone carvings that are intricately crafted. It is surrounded by lush greenery, which enhances its overall beauty and adds to the charm of this ancient structure. Taragarh Fort is a testament to India's rich cultural heritage and serves as a reminder of its glorious past.
About 20 minute hike through the slope and steps. Carry water bottle. Winter and post monsoon season is best. Amazing views from both side of hill. Old palace and water harvesting wells constructed. Govt must renovate the heritage and increase amenities.. Must go to the back side for lake and tower view

Good things:-
You get nice view of Bundi City, I believe in rainy season it must looks stunning.
Not good things:-
- Not maintained, smelly at major parts of the fort.
- Compared to other forts in Rajasthan, Taragrh has lost it's beauty.
- Lady managing the parking lot misbehave with tourists. The staff at the fort cares nothing about it.
- After a long steep trail leading towards Rani Mahal, you hope for a opulent Rani palace but you get is ruins and a dirty stepwell.

Located on the Nagpahadi hill, one of the tall mountains of the Aravalli range, Taragarh Fort is a magnificent fortress. It stands at an elevation of 1426 feet atop the mountain peak, serving as an excellent example of a hill fort. Also known as the "Fort of Bundi," it was constructed by Rao Deva Hada, the founder of Bundi, in the 14th century (1354). Three grand gates were built to enter this fortress situated on the steep slope of the Aravalli mountains. The construction of this fort was carried out by Rao Bar Singh Hada, and its gates are known as Lakshmi Pol, Hathi Pol, and Bhoota Darwaza, along with Gaugarh Gate. The Hathi Pol gate is adorned with colossal elephant statues. The palaces within the fort are unique due to their architectural finesse and fresco paintings. Among these palaces, Chattar Mahal, Aniruddha Mahal, Ratan Mahal, Badal Mahal, and Phool Mahal are prominent.

It's an amazing historical fort from where you can get a good view of the city, however it is ill maintained. The city of Bundi has a lot potential to develop as a tourist destination but the government is not interested to bring Bundi on the tourist map of India.
Historically
It is a massive fort in Bundi and built at a height of 500 meters on a hill by Rao Singh Bar in the 13th century under the reign of King Ajaypal Chauhan. Built in 1354 AD, although the fort is now in a ramshackle state, the Taragarh Fort still remains one of the most impressive forts in Rajasthan. It is built on a steep hill and now is overgrown by vegetation.
Unlike most forts in Rajasthan which are made of Sandstone the Taragarh Fort is made of serpentine stone which is green in colour. It remains one of the few forts in Rajasthan which does not show influences of Mughal style of art and architecture.

Majestic fort complex made by hada rajput dynasty of Bundi. lot of storeys made one above the other along the hills. Architecture, strength and good cooling effects. Entrance:
There is a steep walk to reach the main entrance. Its advisable to take water bottle from the ticketing window as you wont find anything to drink or eat once inside the fort.
View:
The top of the fort gives a panoramic view of the Bundi town.
Inside:
Its more of a fort than a palace. A small portion of this monument is preserved while the rest is mostly in ruins. When we visited, it was being renovated. There is one garden in the entrance which is well maintained.
Terrace:
Terrace is a must visit to soak in the sun in winters. Here is where you can see the entire town and a nearby lake.
Beware of monkeys and also honey bees as they build combs frequently.
Staff:
The staff is quite helpful and cautious and will help you with directions.

On the other hand…very disappointed that I could not access the fort…the way to the fort is full of big and agressive monkeys…even the guards are telling you to be careful. Something should be done regarding the monkeys because at the end you cannot do the full visit.

As such Bundi is a small and dirty place but it has a gem in the form of Garh Palace. There is a entry ticket as almost all of it is still owned by Royals of Bundi. There is a small free parking near the entrance but you may find a irritating and rude woman claiming to be parking attendant. Beware of her, she is a fraud. There are strange rules as one can use mobile to take pictures and make videos but one cannot use selfie stick. Inside Garh Palace there are different palaces constructed by different kings. All worth visiting like Badal Mahal. King's throne made of marble is unique and amazing. There is also Chitralekha with beautiful garden, shivling and a gallery of Bundi's paintings. Chitralekha is maintained by Archeological Survey of India and paintings are stunningly beautiful. Also inside Garh Palace is the Bundi fort. The fort covers the whole of the hills which surround Bundi. Inside the fort one has to be very careful as wild monkeys are there and they do attack. Go in big groups and carry sturdy sticks. I loved Garh Palace, if you are unfortunate to be in Bundi due to some bad luck, you can still visit Garh Palace to redeem bad luck.

The Baroli Temples Complex is located in Baroli village in Rawatbhata City in Chittorgarh district in Rajasthan, India. The complex is located close to the rocky bank of the Chambal River, 45 kilometres (28 mi) south east of Kota, on the outer limits of Rawatbhata City. Set around a natural fountain, they are positioned in two zones in the midst of a forest containing peepal, kadamba, mango, and jamun trees.
Though the history of the Baroli Temples is not very clear, they are reported to have been built during the Gurjara-Pratihara Empire in the 10th–11th centuries. They are one of the earliest temple complexes in Rajasthan.A carved stone image of the god Nataraja was stolen from the Baroli temple complex in 1998. It has been traced to a private collector in London. However, the statue has now been recovered.
The 10th-century Baroli Temples are of great architectural interest, consisting of temple structures built in the Gurjara-Pratihara architectural style, with exquisitely carved stonework. They are in differing stages of upkeep, with some in a semi-ruined state.
There are 8 major temples in Baroli and a ninth about one kilometre away. Four temples are dedicated to Shiva (including Ghateshwara Mahadeva Temple), two to Durga and one each to Shiva-Trimurti, Vishnu and Ganesha.
The Nataraja (Natesha) images carved in these temples are similar to those seen at Upramala. The sculpture has 16 arms and its headdress is matted. There is a large diadem carved at the centre top of the skull, which is "garnished with beaded swags." The facial features are very fine, with high arched brows and full mouth.
The Ghateshwara Mahadeva temple is the most prominent and the largest in the complex. The main temple structure comprises the sanctum (garbhagriha) and the mukhamandapa, a front mandapa or hall.Dated to the early 10th century, it is an intact structure that has the god Shiva depicted in the form of five lingas. One linga appears like an inverted ghata or pot, and hence the name was given to the temple of "Ghateshwara" (pot-Lord), while "Mahadeva" is a term for Shiva. The sanctum has a ceiling in the form of a large blossoming lotus. The temple has a finely carved shikara(pinnacle) above the sanctum. The superstructure has been described as a latina and the pinnacle is a phamsana. The entire superstructure is supported by six pillars and two pilasters. The pilasters, which are part of the sanctum wall, project from the wallby two-thirds of its width, and have niches encased with sculptures.
The mukhamandapa serves as a pillared entrance that leads to the sanctum. Shiva's mount Nandi (the bull) is installed between the mukhamandapa and the sanctum. The niches inside the temple are decorated with elegantly carved images of Andhakantaka (shiva slaying the demon Andhaka), Nataraja (Shiva as the Lord of dance) and the goddess Chamunda; similar images are also carved on the lintel above the entrance door. The mukhamandapa also has many carved images of semi-clad, dancing apsaras (heavenly nymphs). The ceiling is decorated with concentric forms with coiffured cusps.
The Sringar Chauri or rangamandapa (the hall of dance) is a later addition to the temple, situated just outside it. The large pillared hall is built over a raised platform called a pitha, which has decorative carvings.

Ancient Indian Artitecture
Group of 9-11 temples are placed here from around 11th century. This complex is so beautifully decorated with decorative trees & flowering plants & along with the ancient & historic look of the temples, the overall effect is divine. Such exquisitely carved idols & rock cut structures are rarely found anywhere. Most disheartening thing is that some idols & brutally damaged by invaders centuries ago & it's beyond repair. This place is still missing from the outer side of the country. It can be developed as a tourist destination. Very huge & marvelous structures can be seen here. It must be protected for future generations.

Chittorgarh Fort is a vast 240-hectare citadel that has stood for over 1,000 years. It features intricate palaces, temples and gateways. The site exudes history and the ambiance is breathtaking during sunset. Visitors are often accompanied by friendly monkeys and dogs which make for great photo opportunities. A guide can be hired to efficiently navigate through important areas of the fort; however, visitors should refrain from carrying food due to the abundance of monkeys in the area.
It is a huge fort with many attractions! You need 3-4 hours to see the fort completely. If you just want to see main attractions you need couple of hours. There aren't many restaurants nearby and the few which are there are very expensive. I would suggest to visit the fort early morning as it gets very hot after 12. There is an entry fee of Rs.40 pp. The fort has a big history so if you are interested in knowing you should hire a guide, it would charge you around 500-600. It is a do visit place for all the historic lovers.

Okay place for sightseeing and photography.
Have ancient temples of Shiva with most of them without murti.
In a bit poor condition.
Beautiful visuals of city can be seen
Better to have a guide for showing sights and explaining this large area.
However, be alert, these guides have fixed rate with shops for just showing you those shops.

Full of historical beauties. Most of the forts are present as ruins, but the structure of the intact temples prove the vastness and the delicate architecture of the Chittaurgarh. Really beautiful ambience. But be aware from the monkeys and avoid the noon time because of high heat.

Just fantastic. Visited the fort over sunset with an amazing atmosphere. The buildings and ambience are absolutely perfect and one can breath history all around. Of course monkeys and dogs are welcomed and sharing some pictures with them is always a plus.
I can fully recommend it and encourage everyone to spend a day or two in the city

Chittorgarh Fort is a majestic marvel that left me awe-inspired. The grandeur of its historical significance is beautifully preserved within its vast walls and sprawling complexes. The intricate carvings, towering structures, and panoramic views from the fort offered a breathtaking journey through time. Exploring the various palaces, temples, and reservoirs within the fort was a captivating experience, each unveiling a rich tapestry of Rajasthan's storied past. The well-maintained premises and informative guides enhanced my understanding of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, making my visit an unforgettable blend of architectural splendor and cultural immersion. Chittorgarh Fort is undeniably a treasure trove for history enthusiasts and a must-visit gem in the heart of Rajasthan.

First of all it is not just a fort !
Literally a whole town is inside it !!
A lot of driving will be involved here !
But this is just a marvelous piece of architecture!
There is not one site, but it has about 9-10 different visiting locations inside the fort !
It will take you almost 3 days to visit the complete location properly !
You can travel via Auto inside the fort premises, so no issues of that
But the fort and everything inside it is just beautiful! 😍

One should must visit this fort atleast once. It's our history and our cultural heritage. Perimeter is 13 KM. Saw विजय स्तंभ, महारानी पद्मिनी महल, कीर्ति स्तंभ etc. Saw the original battlefield of Chittor war. There is a cafe cum restaurant is also there inside & view is mesmerizing from its terrace. I enjoyed the sunset from the fort which was one of the best sunset views I have ever seen.
Sprawling, 240-ha. citadel, more than 1,000 years old, with ornate palaces, temples & gateways.
It is the fort spread over 700 acres and 1850 metres above sea level. It has now declared world heritage for which it deserves too. One should visit here to see the places inside fort where Rani Padmini sacrificed her life to maintain dignity of Mewar Kingdom .

To visit the fort thoroughly you will need a good 5-6 hours. As this is one the biggest forts in India with so many mahals, temples and other complexes inside it. Have a Guide, then only you will to get to know the real history of this fort.

Must visit. I would suggest to go in the morning as soon as it opens at 8am. As the day progress crowd increases and u will have to park car away from the Fort. Hire a govt certified guide at the entrance of Fort, believe me its a must. Give more time to visit the Fort and all its part leisurely. We were really thrilled listening the stories of our Kings, their valor and wonderful monument they had constructed. There are hundreds of temple in and around the Fort, try to visit few.
Fort is beautiful. The architecture and design are unique. What makes it more unique is it's surrounded by mountains which gives eye soothing experience. Best time to visit is in the evening to watch the sunset and then the light show on the fort.
Extremely good place to explore the fort.. it's well maintained and a good experience and knowledgeable for kids .

Built during the 18th century by Biherwal Mahajan Sanaya, Kirti Stambh is dedicated to Rishabha, the first Tirthankara of Jainism. This seven storied tower has an impressive five-feet-high statue of the Rishabha. Nestled in the Chittorgarh fort, this fort is built in Solanki architecture. There is a narrow stairway which leads through the seven storeys to the top. On the top floor there is an observation hall which offers a panoramic view of Chittorgarh city. A large number of followers of Jainism come to the tower to worship Lord Adinath.

The fort is extremely beautiful. We hired guide for us in INR850 and auto rikshaw for 600. He hyped up that the fort is extremely large and you cannot cover it on your own. You’ll need a guide blah blah. But I guess the guide was not needed. I would say if you are aware of little bit of history then don’t hire guide, because the story is mentioned at almost every place in Chittorgarh fort. Like at “Johar Place” everything is mentioned. And guide didn’t let us take pictures of ourselves. He was continuously saying “we have to cover the fort please hurry up”. He covered whole fort in 1.5hours. I’m extremely disappointed that he didn’t let us take pictures of the places. Obviously this is the one time place to visit for us, as it is very far from where I belong, we are not going to Chittorgarh every day. So if you’re a content creator like me or simply who loves to capture everything, then don’t hire guide. Explore the fort on your own.

What an incredible feat of architecture and engineering! This was truly a marvel of the 11th century, and do much history too. It's worth hiring a licensed guide at the site, there is a fair amount of driving involved to go from site to site besides the main fort, as the entire fort complex is spread out quite far.

The fort is amazing and great for its history and the way it is constructed. Nice place for a day visit and photography. It could have been better preserved, and the Archeological survey of India, who are supposed to protect it is doing a bad job. There is lots of waste and the pathways are not properly maintained to all the attractions. No proper direction, information is only given in Hindi in a UNESCO World Heritage site. Tuk tuk guides and other guides are everywhere and there are no regulations in place to ensure quality. The museum has only one floor open with some limited exhibits. The top floor is closed for no reason. There is mismanagement happening. A lot of old structures are being turned into temples with flags displayed with no respect to the fort and the history behind it.

Padmini Palace, nestled within the formidable Chittorgarh Fort in Rajasthan, not only showcases architectural brilliance but is also steeped in the legendary tale of Queen Padmini. The palace serves as a poignant reminder of the valor and sacrifice associated with the historical events surrounding Rani Padmini.
**Architecture:**
The palace is an architectural gem, reflecting the quintessential Rajput style with delicate arches, ornate carvings, and intricate designs. Its strategic location within Chittorgarh Fort offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, adding to the grandeur of the palace.
**Mirror Chambers:**
What makes Padmini Palace particularly captivating is its mirror chambers. These chambers are said to have been adorned with mirrors that created a mesmerizing play of reflections. According to folklore, it was in these chambers that Alauddin Khilji, the Sultan of Delhi, caught a glimpse of Queen Padmini's reflection. This fateful sighting is believed to have ignited the conflict that eventually led to the siege of Chittorgarh.
**The Tale of Queen Padmini:**
Rani Padmini, the legendary queen of Chittorgarh, was known for her beauty and grace. The narrative goes that Alauddin Khilji, having heard tales of her unparalleled beauty, sought to possess her. However, Queen Padmini and the Rajput warriors, led by Rana Ratan Singh, valiantly defended their honor.
The conflict culminated in the siege of Chittorgarh, where the Rajput forces displayed unparalleled courage. In the face of impending defeat, Rani Padmini, along with the other women of the fort, committed Jauhar—an act of self-immolation to preserve their honor. This tragic event resonates in Rajput history as a symbol of unwavering courage and sacrifice.
**Symbol of Valor:**
Padmini Palace, in essence, stands as a symbol of Rajput valor and resilience. It preserves the memory of the historical events that unfolded within its walls and pays homage to the indomitable spirit of Queen Padmini and the Rajput warriors who defended their honor against overwhelming odds.
A visit to Padmini Palace not only allows one to appreciate its architectural beauty but also provides a connection to the poignant history and legends that echo within its chambers, making it a must-visit destination for those interested in the cultural and historical tapestry of Rajasthan.

Kankroli (Rajnagar) town situated on the Udaipur-Bhilwara highway, located near this huge lake, is actually the district headquarters.
Despite it seeming like a small city to me, when I saw the good traffic system, I exclaimed that such a system was not seen even in Udaipur. (What to say about Bhilwara!)
Kankroli is the district headquarters of Rajsamand district. Rajasthan: Would it be possible that Rajsamand would be the only district in India in which a place with the name of the district does not exist?
After traversing long and narrow streets and asking passers-by, we reached #RajSamudra/#RajSamandJheel. 9 Ghevar Devi, who filled the foundation of this dam near Chowki Pal
#Ghevarmata temple is built on the other side, and #Ambamata temple is built on the other side.
One can see a glimpse of the great personality of Maharana Raj Singh in this huge lake built at a cost of about Rs 1.5 crore in 1676, exactly 100 years after the famous Battle of Haldighati in 1576. It is 2.82 kilometers (1.75 mi) wide, 6.4 kilometers (4.0 mi) long and 18 meters (59 ft) deep. It was built on the Gomti River, Kelva River and Tali River. It was built by Maharana Raj Singh as an atonement for the human killings he had committed during his life.
The name of Maharana Raj Singh is immortal among the great heroes of Mewar, about whom we will know better in the upcoming posts. Coming here you feel like the sea. Around 50 km from Udaipur, Jaisamand is the second largest artificial lake in Asia. Built by Maharaja Jai Singh in 1685, the lake covers an area of 36 sq km with a length of 14 km and width of 9 km. The lake has a depth of about 102 feet!
Also known as Dhebar, the lake was constructed, while the king was building a dam on the Gomti river. The dam on the lake is massive in size: 1,202 ft in length, 116 ft in height and width of 70 ft at the bottom. At the centre of the lake is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. And on its shore is a spectacular summer palace that was once the retreat of the Udaipur royal family's women. The lake also has six marble cenotaphs on its embankment. There are seven islands in the lake and the largest of these is Babaka Bhagra.
With beautiful marble steps that gently descend into the water, the lake-side is perfect to sit and watch the rippling waters. There are boat rides available and a sanctuary nearby (Jaisamand Sanctuary), which was the hunting grounds of the the Mewar royal family, and today is home to various types of birds and animals like panthers, leopards, deer and wild boars

Shrinathji Temple is a Hindu temple and popular pilgrimage site that pays homage to Lord Krishna. The temple features scheduled rituals and viewing times, with several timings when the gates are open for darshan. It is highly visited, with long queues often present outside of the main entrance. To streamline entry, a VIP entry fee of Rs 350 permits access to the front line.
Main entrance of Shrinathji temple. Lots of peoples come today in huge number. So there is always very long queue for entering in Shrinathji temple. Outside of main gate, Mandir have facility to Keep devotees mobiles and Shoes safe for free. There are lots of shops outside of main gate. Very crowded entrance gate.

One word - Pristine!
Shrinathji Temple is located in Nathdwara area of Rajasthan. This is a very old and respected temple in Nathdwara, lord Shrinath (avatar of Krishna) is worshipped here. There are 5 aartis everyday for the God. It's considered to be good if you are able to make it to all of the aartis in a single day. The crowd is good enough on any single day. First Aarti starts at roughly 6am in the morning.

It’s worth all efforts. The only bad thing is, it has transformed in to business tourism instead of pilgrimage. No Phones 📵 allowed and security will continuously push and ask you to leave quickly. But its all worth it, to get small glimpse of lord Shrinathji. Be cautious for Fast Line tags/ early access.

Avoid visiting on weekends and if possible leave your phone in hotel or in car because phone inside the temple is not allowed and you have to even wait in line for keeping your shoes and footwear and if your visiting shrinathji you can also cover tallest murti of shivji nearby.

Excellent place. You can take normal line with no fee. No phone is allowed inside so you can keep it outside for free. Don't go on weekends due to rush and also on Holiday times. If VIP line then it will cost ₹350 per person. You can visit each and every specific room where prasad is made or dresses are made for ShrinathJi. A lot of rooms for specific work is there inside the temple which I think is most organized temple I saw till now. You will visit 3 idols if in VIP. It will be a proper workout as you will have to run a lot inside.

Raadhe Radhe. The main attraction of Nathdwara. Very crowded and long but well-maintained queues. However, the atmosphere is good and people are helpful. The statue of Krishna looks very beautiful.

A must visit when in Udaipur. The temple
is about 2 hour drive so plan well. The temple has 8 darshan timings and this is important to follow to visit the temple. It has a website and allows you to book the darshan. Please do that there are touts all along who will scam you for darshan by quoting higher prices.
The temple management has made lines and queues etc but it is not very friendly or easy to navigate.
As tourists if you have limited time plan very well and book the tickets from the temple website.
The locals seem to understand the timing and darshan formality so they are fine with the line systems.
The temple is closed for 15 mins every hour and allows only 45 mins darshan.
The temple has a lunch break as well from 2-4 (time varies) there is always a queue.
They don’t allow mobiles so you will have to deposit them as well.
And again there will be a queue for that as well.
There is cow shed near by in case you want to visit.
The folks all around will try to fleece you for money so be very careful and the place is full of tourist traps

The temple needs to be more systematic otherwise it’s fine. The vip line system is too much and affordable. We had the proper darshan till 10 minutes. The market outside the temple is amazing and so reasonable but we couldn’t shop much as we were short of time. The variety of food is great

Krishna‘s little Swaroop idol in Shreeji Temple. It’s a nearby places are statue of belief and Eklingji Mahadev.
In a temple, mobile phones, leather and purse are not allowed
Best time to visit temple before 12 PM and after 3 PM to 5 PM
Very huge market for shopping and for food, so you definitely try the street food of the Shreeji Temple, like Pyaas Kachori Kachori Gulab jam Rabadi, Puri Sabzi.
Your mobile put in the safety locker and also remove shoes outside of the door of temple
Definitely go with your family and friends.

One of ultimate religious temple....on weekend it's overcrowded but management and security had been doing great for devotees so not getting cramped on each other. Personally I didn't like that "VIP line" culture no need to pay for darshan, usually it takes 15-20 min for darshan.

Located on the banks of the Banas River and having a distance of 48 from Udaipur in Rajasthan, Nathdwara the Gate of the Lord is visited most frequently by Hindu pilgrims. This pilgrimage site is very popular for enshrining the image of lord Krishna. On a tour to Udaipur you must come to Shrinathji. Temple is open 6 times in a day so plan properly. Beware about Pandas.

This is the last spot where the second half of the battle of Haldighati was fought between Maharana Pratap and the Mughals. As a result, thousands of soldiers o on both sides were died and their blood flowed to such an extent that it formed a pool. At present it just a park. ASI should focus on this to build more interesting. Also it's not maintained well.

The “Haldighati” name derived because of soil of this region is like “Haldi” (Turmeric). “Haldighati” war fought between the Soldiers of Akbar.. headed by Raja Man Singh of Amber & Maharana Pratap. War was one of the bloodiest battle ever fought, it was so fierce that even today the land still seems to be carrying the shade of the blood shed here. There was heavy rain on that war evening & all blood got mix up with yellow mud of Haldi Ghati and washed out in this pond; it looked like blood pond as its name suggest “Rakt Talai”
During this battle, Maharana's faithful horse “Chetak” was injured on one of his hind legs when he confronted Maan Singh who was on an elephant.
A historic battle, a brave hero and wonderful vibes make this place an outstanding memorial to bravery anywhere in the world.
Considering the history attached to it Govt has given very less importance to it. Need more efforts from tourism department. There is one guide who narrate the history of battle at this place..
Rakt talai khamnore is located in City of Rajsamand

I dedicate this day of my travel to both of them. Learned so many things. I won't go in detail. Rana Pratap's life summary can be seen in pic 1. Usually, visitors here watch two to four sites, namely, Maharana Pratap Museum.
One interesting fact I must share about Pic 11, where Chetak and Rana Pratap are charging on Raja Maan Singh (seating on elephant), you can see Chetak's face is covered with elephant's mask. This mask was put on Chetak purposely to confuse Maan Singh's elephant!!! This is the moment when Chetak's leg got deeply cut by mahout of Raja Maan Sigh which proves to be fatal, late in the same day.
Raja Maan Singh was representing Mughal Emperor Akbar in the battle of Haldighati.
The museum is totally accessed with the help of audio guide which is very much user friendly.

Overall, a must-visit destination for anyone interested in history, architecture, and the beauty of Rajasthan.
I would suggest to go in the morning as soon as it opens at 8am.

World class ! An amazing piece of history, coming to life. Well preserved and maintained for tourists, very cheap to get in...easy access to food and water nearby within the compound.
Roads leading to here are poor at March 2024 (such unacceptable negligence by tourism dept) but worth the drive and effort for sure. Need about 2-3 hours to walk around inside and explore fully. Longer if you want to go further into the temple ruins etc. Please go and enjoy - and savour our history!

Saheliyon ki Bari, a stunning garden in Udaipur, is renowned for its lush greenery, intricate marble art, and enchanting fountains. Built by the Maharana for the royal ladies of Mewar, it features four water pools, marble elephants, kiosks, and fountains. The garden also houses a museum displaying household items and pets of the residents.
It is a great place to spend your afternoons or evenings with your family. It is a huge garden rich in history and culture. Nice place to spend time on weekends. Lots of greenery is there and the dense trees help to get rid from the burning sun. Ticket price is 20/- per person. PS: the magical fountain that is said to be switching on and off by clapping is actually a marketing trick. As a guide explains this to the visitors, an employee there (visible in one of the videos) waits for them to clap so that he can push and pull a controlling lever!

-> I would recommend you to book a guide (negotiate if possible - there are lot of tour guides available around) because the guides have lots of stories and information related to the history of the palace and the events that took place around to share with you.
-> Avoid visiting during mid-noon as it becomes really hot to explore the place. So, prefer to visit during early day time or during the evening.

Went to watch and experience the great katputli dance. The entire show was fantastic. Experienced for the first time as a tourist. Children enjoyed the show as well. Well organised and very talented artists.
Tickets for the show can only be booked ( as per the communication in the of Oct 2023) starting from 5:30 PM, no advance or web booking. If you reach 1 hour before then also you will get the tickets unless it’s a busy weekend or a school tour.

Heritage site. There are cultural programs held every day at 7p.m. for an hour. You need to buy tickets to watch the program. Must watch. Plan to be there and understand the rich treasure of our folk dance and lyrics. The program is a nice blend of various folk songs and dances of Rajasthan. There's a short introduction given in Hindi and English for each folk dance. Enjoy the dance in the beautiful backdrop of the haveli. Don't skip this place.

At first Don’t miss the Cultural Programme by DHAROHAR hosted by Mr & Mrs Dixit and Hosted by Yashu Dixit at 7-8PM daily. It’s totally worth watching and ticket price is just ₹100. I also read the reviews about this show and went to watch this show and believe me it was totally amazing and more than Paisa Wasool show.
This Haveli is almost same like other old architecture in Rajasthan obviously with different different history. And same old things.
Just as it is maintained by government so not that well maintained but okay.
Things were same as you have seen in other museums.

Came to see their traditional dance show, the courtyard of the museum was nicely decorated. It is better to come earlier as the place gets crowded very quickly. The performance itself was ok although they could've done a better show (it looked more like a volunteer school performance rather than a professional dance show). The tickets were pretty inexpensive (when bought directly at the museum) so overall, quite a good value for money.

What an amazing experience I have got from here. Their show starts from 7:00 PM in the evening. The tickets are available from 5:30 PM. I would say, you should definitely include this place in your itinerary for visit to Udaipur. It includes different kinds of traditional and cultural dance shows of rajasthan along with puppet shows. Watch out for the last dance, its somewhat of a surprise.

This is place is so good and specially if you want to know about Rajasthan's folk music and dance. It was the highlight of our udaipur trip and one of the best things I had ever seen. The kaal beliya dance that I had seen was so magical. The girl dancing on it was so elegant, graceful and so beautiful that she won all of our hearts. Her moves, eyes, smile everything was perfect and she really is a baap girl. And I forgot to shoot her video because I was so much fascinated by her performance. Anyone going to visit udaipur should really see the night show at bagore ki haveli.

This is one among the most fascinating places in udaipur for tourists. This is a museum located near the pichola lake old city. This museum highlights the rich heritage culture of Rajasthan. Evenings there will be magnificent dance music and puppet shows from 7 PM to 8 PM which will give a brief glimpse of traditional rajasthan culture. This is definitely a must visit place especially for tourists. The cost is Rs 100 per person for evening show but it is really worth it
Sharan Sajjan — Google review
Evening dance show is the prime attraction here. Since it gives you a real feel of Rajasthan & it’s diverse culture & tradition, I suggest not to miss it. However, there are a lot of loopholes as well, let’s discuss here below:
1. Only offline way to collect tickets, which will be distributed from the counter sharp 5:30pm. However, you have be in the queue almost 30 mins before to ensure you are able to make it else you will get next show tickets.
2. Since the show begins at 7, you have to be in the another queue that lets you enter in at 6:30pm. Hence, manage your timings well and keep something to eat especially if with kids.
3. I noticed, a family bought tickets with us for next show that starts at 8 pm but they were allowed to sit in an early show of 7pm. Corruption in India is so common.
4. You should reach early to get the proper seats, else you will end up watching just glimpses of the entire show as the seating is spread all over the terrace however, there are pillars, trees to block your view.
+ves:
1. Well trained dancers & musicians. Totally worth watching
2. Ticket price of 100/- is a nominal charge for the show displayed
3. Show starts sharp as per mentioned timings and there are no delays.
I recommend.

If you want to see the haveli and the museum only there will not be that long waiting time but if you want to see the cultural presentation show then you need to wait for an hour to get the ticket. Two shows they do in a day. But from 5pm you have to stand in queue to book the tickets. They present three to four kinds of dances from different districts of Rajasthan that includes the national heritage one, "Kalbeliyaa dance". Overall it's a good representation.

Nice place to visit near Gangour Ghat, though, in this area, 4 wheelers are not allowed, hence to visit it, only auto/2 wheeler is option. Inside it, there are different things displayed, and also a mansion type balcony, where you can view the lake.

You must visit this place if you're in Udaipur. The evening program showcasing the various performance arts of the state is absolutely mesmerizing. Each artist performing here is incredible and creates a magical atmosphere.

A Glimpse into History at Bagore Ki Haveli
Bagore Ki Haveli offers a riveting journey into the rich tapestry of ancient history, boasting a picturesque view and a hospitable staff. The ample parking space ensures a hassle-free experience for visitors. However, there is room for improvement as the maintenance and cleanliness could be enhanced, and the ticket pricing for the cultural performances and haveli entry might exceed one's expectations.
While exploring, it is advisable to opt for alternative modes of transportation due to limited space for four-wheelers. Additionally, a visit to the local market at Gangour Ghat is recommended, although haggling might be necessary. Overall, addressing these concerns before the next visit would significantly enhance the overall experience for patrons.

This is a place near Gangaur ghat, where folk dance and music is arranged daily in the evening. It is an old Haveli converted into the cultural center. The folk music and dances performed are very good and give you a glimpse of traditions. The tickets are limited, so you have to buy it at around 5.30 pm for 7.00 pm timing. But, after buying tickets, you can spend your time at nearby Gangaur ghat, which is also a beautiful place.

This haveli event is a must visit to see the cultural dance and music show they have in the evenings.
They have parking available, however, on the peak days it might be full.
They show many cultural types of dance and the videos are attached.
They have food items available outside so you can enjoy that.
You have to wait for 8-9 show if the show for 7-8 is booked.
For the show, come 15-20 minutes before the start time to be early in the line and have better seat to enjoy the show.
They have enough seating available for you to enjoy.
Visit this place and enjoy the culture.

Lake Pichola is a stunning artificial freshwater lake located in the heart of Udaipur, Rajasthan. Built in 1362, it is surrounded by hills, gardens, temples, and havelis. The lake features four islands including Arsi villa & Jag Niwas and serves as a tourist hotspot for its historical significance and scenic beauty. Visitors can enjoy boat rides on the lake and observe a variety of birds at the sanctuary. This picturesque destination offers an unforgettable experience for tourists exploring Rajasthan.
Wonderful and serene lake. It’s an artificial lake created to end the crisis of water during summer. Lakes in Udaipur are inter connected. Boat riding is must although the rate is little bit on the higher side. Upto 2 pm it’s Rs 500 for adults and 250 for children upto 12. After 2 pm, it’s 850 for adults and 450 for children. The motor boat ride is for one hour. At first they circle the lake for 15 mins, then they take you to Jag mandir and you can spend about half an hour there and come back with any boat showing your ticket from another ghat within Jag mandir. Your boat will not wait for you.

True to its title, the City of Lakes - Udaipur is surrounded by a number of lakes mesmerising its visitors with its blue waters and scenic views. One such artificial lake that sits right in the middle of Udaipur city is Lake Pichola, built in the year of 1362 AD.
Named after the nearby village Picholi, Lake Pichola is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Udaipur. Flanked by islands, palaces, temples, mansions, ghats and restaurants, Lake Pichola offers something for everyone. Lake Pichola in Udaipur is a serene and picturesque destination. The lake's sparkling waters and surrounding hills create a mesmerizing setting. It is best experienced by taking a boat ride and admiring the beautiful palaces and havelis that line its shores, including the famous Lake Palace and Jag Mandir. The calm atmosphere and stunning views make it an ideal spot for relaxation and capturing memorable photographs. However, the lake can get crowded during peak tourist season, so it's advisable to visit early in the morning or during weekdays for a more peaceful experience. Lake Pichola is a must-visit for its natural beauty and its association with Udaipur's royal history.

The Lake Pichola is an artificial lake located in the heart of Udaipur, Rajasthan.
The oldest and one of the largest lakes of the city.
Backgrounded with green hills, heritage buildings and bathing ghats, its a beautiful attraction for all nature lovers. A visit to the Lake Pichola is incomplete without a boat ride, especially in the evening.
During evenings, it seems the entire place has been dipped in gold as you can see the heritage buildings and the pristine water turning golden with the sun's reflection. The amazing views will take you to a different world.

Lake pichola is one of the must-visit destinations for tourists, as it really justifies Udiapur as the lake city. This lake offers beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and the Taj Lake Palace, which is present at the centre of the lake, gives even more scenic views.
Boating at these places is really recommended in the evening, as you can enjoy the sunset while boating. The cost of boating is around 200-450 rupees per person, depending on the boat you choose. I would recommend visiting this place during the weekdays as it is very crowded on the weekends.

Amazing views and memorable experience. The boat ride and ropeway ride are just good to enjoy. There are many activities on top after reaching the top with ropeway. Like aquarium visit, virtual games, restaurants, massage therapy, fish foot spa, fire pan, chat cone etc.
There is also a photo service with Traditional costume. There is Karnimata temple and a Dargah up there. The view from the cable car cabin is quite nice. Ride is for 4 to 5 minutes. As only 3 cabins move up and down there may be a waiting time for 30 minutes on rush days.
Boat ride takes you to Jagmandir.
We felt these were a must feel experience when in Udaipur. We visited the place just a day before a bollywood actresses wedding but there was no problem at all.

Jagmandir, also known as Jag Island Palace, is a luxurious hotel located in a 17th-century island palace in Udaipur. The palace features stylish dining options, stunning lake views, a spa, and a museum. It is constructed with the finest yellow sandstone and marble and houses residential suites, reception halls, and internal courts with octagonal towers topped by cupolas.
While visiting the city palace, I also did a boating experience and the amazing place included in it is Jagmandir Island Palace. Historical and Royal place it is. There are so many amazing spots here and the place is full of serenity.

You can take the boat from city palace to reach this place. I also heard that they have local boat as well which are not so expensive.
There is garden and some spots where you can enjoy and take beautiful pictures.
There are some restaurants as well but expensive.
4 star because of the cost of reaching 500 rupees per person to this place.
Of course amazing place and great view. Even boat ride is fun but 500 rupees just for the boat ride doesn't sound good.

To reach the Jagmandir palace one has to take the boat ride from city palace premises. I would recommend to visit this place during sunset so that you get saved from the scorching sun and see the beautiful sunset during boating.
The only bummer was that most of the Jagmandir palace area was closed and could not be visited by tourists.

Barry Pickard — Google review
It's a hotel and a tourist attraction, literally on an island in the middle of a lake. While we visited the palatial island for strolling around, they also have fairly expensive options for staying. It's gorgeous, built in the 18th century (or the 19th) with majestic gardens, massive courtyard, and has history running through every marble. There is also a restaurant and a bar on this island.
How to get there?
There's a 20 mins ferry ride from the City Palace, Udaipur. It's generally a part of the tour, the ferry takes you around the lake, showing you the massive City Palace, Gangour Ghat, and the surroundings before eventually taking you to Jagmandir. A single ticket also covers your return journey.
View
It's literally surrounded by the lake on all four sides, so no matter which corner you pick, you will see the flaccid waves crashing against the island. It's grand, it was supposed to be a palace in the era of Rajputs. Stone elephants looking towards the City Palace with the water lapping around their bottoms make for a spectacular view.
Amenities
There's a spa, a restaurant, a majestic royal garden, a bar, spacious rooms, a marble courtyard, a room full of historic artifacts, and impeccable service.
If you are in Udaipur, you will have an option between choosing to view the City Palace and/or Jagmandir. Either way, both are expensive, but Jagmandir is slightly cheaper than the other. All in all, it wasn't an exact waste of money, but still expensive.

Wanted to experience dinner in a lake restaurant.
Taj Lake Palace only open to residents for security reasons.
Jagmandir was an alternate to it. The experience was worth it as one got a lovely view of the lit up City Palace, Lake Palace hotel, and other lit up buildings.
JagMandir itself was well lit up and pretty place to be at for a celebration
Tasneem Khairullah — Google review
A lovely place to visit n relax. The boat ride to it is smooth. We had a coffee break at this place with some bites...the service is slow n has an old world charm of a relaxed lifestyle. The prices are steep though.
Jagmandir is a wonderful place to visit. No matter, how harsh the sun is, the cool breeze from the surrounding lake will cool you down. If you visit the City Palace I recommend you to visit Jagmandir. The boat ride will cost you 600 for an adult and the kid's (up to) fare is half (year 2023).
It's not out of the question to mention here that it's totally turned into a commercial business place. Half of this portion is converted into a restaurant and serves overly priced food items. Even to reach the lake, you need to buy separate tickets from the main palace courtyard.
The view from the Island is very good. The garden is well maintained. And it's a plus point. The negative point of visiting the city palace is it's a costly affair. The entry tickets are outrageous. Everywhere they mushroomed restaurants, food items are very costly. And to explore each section of the palace you need to buy separate tickets.
Sajjangarh Monsoon Palace, also known as Monsoon Mahal, is a stunning white marble palace perched on a high hill in Udaipur. Built by Maharana Sajjan Singh of the Mewar Dynasty, this palace offers breathtaking panoramic views of Fatehsagar Lake and the surrounding countryside.
Well the sun was definitely having a moment that evening we visited.
It was our most beautiful Udaipur sunset. The drive up also offers scenic views of the valley but the turns are a little sharp.
There was a museum inside the fort, but you might as well skip it.
But a definitely worth a visit for the sunset & bird's eye views of the city & the lakes! ✨

Located on top of the hill giving a top class view of the Udaipur City. Nothing horror or spooky, disappointing for someone looking for that kind of adventure. Rain water harvesting tank is installed, the water is then passed within the wall to keep the palace cool. Nice Engineering! Entry ticket is around 100 per person but you also got to pay for the vehicle you are travelling in. Road from the gate to palace is curvaceous and not well maintained though scenic. Drive carefully, rented vehicles may grunt uphill. Palace itself is neat and clean. Drinking water only available at one place near the palace gate, more of them are required. Not differently able friendly.

Beautiful place in udaipur to watch the sunset as well as to get the panoramic view of the white city and magnificent aravali ranges.
The palace is around 3-4 km from the entry gate. Apart from entry tickets, there is an additional charge for carrying your private vehicle up to the palace. Taxi service is available from the gate on a payment basis. So it is a bit of an expensive attraction as compared to other prominent attractions of the city.

It's basically a scenic spot for viewing entire Udaipur from one single spot with superb Sunset view. Quite a few Langoors around so avoid carrying food in your hand or be a bit careful. There is a cafeteria as well but didn't try so can't say much about it. But as point was atop a hill, weather was pleasant in evening (even in March end summer). Entry fees is there with option of public transport to take you atop at additional charges. Entry is just next to zoo gate.

Palace is beautiful though not opulent, small eatery also there, not for a quick visit, stay for an hour or so and enjoy the sunset .. vehicle charges are more than the entry fee.. beware of monkeys, don’t feed them. Be sure to go upstairs, view is amazing, u can take pics without anyone in the background..
no smoking signs should be kept outdoors

I had a wonderful experience visiting the Monsoon Palace in Udaipur with my friends. The place offers breathtaking city views that left us in awe. The majestic architecture and the historical significance of the palace added to the charm of the visit. The serene ambiance and the beautiful surroundings made it a perfect spot for sightseeing and capturing stunning photographs. Though the palace could benefit from some maintenance in certain areas, it didn't overshadow the overall positive experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to immerse themselves in the rich culture and history of Udaipur while enjoying the picturesque vistas it has to offer. A must-visit destination for travelers and history enthusiasts alike!

The location is just fabulous there, one can easily enjoy the city view with majestic lakes, located just 20-30 mins motorcycle ride away from the city centre, it takes you to the top of a mountain (rather hill).Entry fee is 180 and parking charges accordingly.
Practical suggestion: Apart from Majestic views the fort has nothing to offer, below average maintenance and can be difficult for elderly people to climb up here.

આ beautiful place and must visit location at Udaipur. It's quite far from city center but worth visiting it. Advisable to reach before 6:00 PM in summer to view sunset from the top of it. One can visit by own car or by cab. If you self drive it's nice experience to drive on curvy road with many hair pin curves. One has to be good driver to drive on this road. But driving itself will be an amazing experience. There is a very small museum and vast terrace to view surroundings and get a feeling of top of the world.

It is a nice spot for sunset. The fort is not much of a place to visit but the view is great and you are able to see the whole of udaipur from up there. Best time to visit the fort would be in the evening for sunset. There is a spot midway while going to the fort which has a better view of the sunset.
The roads are pretty steep but well built and one can go to the top on any 2 wheeler or four wheeler. The place gets a bit crowded so plan accordingly

The palace is located on a hill. The ticket counter is at the start of the hill. You can trek up the hill / take a private vehicle/ use public transport from the entry. Best is to use 2 wheelers (you can rent for a day at rs.300) , as its ticket costs only rs. 60.
The view from the palace is beautiful. You get to see aravalli hills.
Most of the palace was closed and there was nothing much to see inside.

Amazing View and amazing ride there through the hilly paths. You can rent a bike or car whichever is your preference but the roads are well constructed but one should drive cautiously while climbing up and down 😁. The rental would cost around 500rs for bikes. It was more fun in the roads , up there greeted with great views and heritage. ❤️

Truly loved the palace, I visited the palace in early monsoon and fell in love with the place. The road to the palace and the view from the top is seriously amazing and worth going.
There was a soft drizzle of rain when I visited and it made everything look more beautiful ❤️
I tried banana cake and mixed fruit cake from the restaurant there and found it very delicious. It is costly compared to the market but the quality and flavour of the cake was worth it.

It is a simple palace built by king to see rain cloud early. It is situated on the top of mountain. If you have lots of time then you can visit this place otherwise you can skip it.

The best time to visit is on a pleasant evening. The Palace is very meh, but the view from the hilltop is gorgeous. Fairly overpriced at ₹155 per adult. There's an extra cost for taking your vehicle and you can't go by foot in case you feel like trekking.
Ayush Khandelwal — Google review
Nice place if you wish to chill and relax at the same time click great pictures.
People usually visit to see the sunset.
You can visit 2wheeler but the roads are good but the ghat makes it somewhat dangerous.
One can expect to spend 2-3 hours here.

Such a beautiful Palace to visit in monsoon!!! Views are next to the feeling of heaven 😍
There at the top you genuinely feel like you are in clouds!!
The way to sajjangarh is pretty more adventurous and beautiful 😍
The entry fees per head is 155/- + the vehicle charge !
And also only 2 persons are allowed on two wheeler 🙏🏻
Swt Sonal — Google review
Not worth the gross amount of money you spend to see the views. Rs 159 per head plus Rs 308 for your car. The only attraction is augmented reality projection with various animals projected along side your image on screen

The monsoons and winters must be amazing
We visited by the end of March and so may be the greenery was just a haze.
The view is amazing from any part of the palace.
However it's just that and the palace has literally nothing else

Very beautiful palace situated on top of a hill. City view from this palace is mesmerizing. There is nothing much to see inside the palace. It is called as Monsoon palace because, to watch the monsoon clouds. Ride through he jungle to visit the palace is refreshing. Must recommended in Udaipur.

First thing which you gonna experience is good mountains curves road. You can witness the same on my YouTube channel "lifeoftheriders". One of the best thing is sunset vibe. Wild life statue is good. Though the fort is very small. You will love the panaromic view around fort at a good height. Best time to visit this place is evening sunset time. Entry fees is around 50 rupees vehicle charge is separate. Overall good place to explore with friends and family.

The Monsoon Palace is a beautiful destination in Udaipur, offering stunning views of the city and the Aravalli mountain ranges. However, reaching the palace requires traveling a distance from the bottom of the hill. Unfortunately, some drivers can be reckless, making the journey adventurous and potentially dangerous for travelers. Despite this, the palace is definitely worth visiting. The cool winds within the palace add to its charm.
SUKRUTH PM — Google review
Since its located on a small hill, and its surrounded by forest , the view from the top is mesmerizing. Actual palace is pretty small and does not have many stuff to see apart from the scenic view. It has a small Cafe in the premises. There is a zoo downhill near main entrance, though it's nothing special and can be skipped if you are in a hurry. From entrance its about few kilometers uphill journey to reach the castle , though there are public transportation options, I would suggest that you bring your own vehicle.
The Ranakpur Jain Temple, located in Udaipur, is a 15th-century white-marble temple with grand columns, halls and cupolas adorned with intricate carvings of deities. The temple boasts stunning architecture and a rich history that makes it a must-visit destination for both tourists and the religiously-inclined. Visitors are allowed to take pictures inside the temple with a ticket purchase.
Spectacular Jain temple with best architecture and story behind it. Must visit place for both tourist as well as devotion side. Carvings inside temple are worth note. Pics inside are allowed with a ticket. A basic canteen and mess is inside for food but otherwise, you won't find much (water is from Earthen pots and no packaged water bottle available inside so you can imagine).

A very peaceful temple, a must visit. Do listen to your audio guide.
To click pics, you have to pay a fee of ₹150/- per person.
They also serve meals in their "bhojnalaya" at a very affordable fee of ₹60/- per person. They serve meals in batches, might have to wait for your turn.
They have accommodation facilities, but it is not from a tourism perspective.
Outside the temple, there are adventure tourism activities and safari services. I was told there is no wildlife around.

Artistic marvels seen in this structure of the Jain Temple
Mesmerize yourself in the beauty of this temple and views from here. The temple charges you a donation of Rs. 100 on entry and is maintained well for visitors.
The campus of the temple is big and has dedicated parking for the vehicles, from where you would have to walk about 200 m to the temple ramparts.
Points of Improvement:
1. Better maintenance of toilet, it was barely clean when we visited.
2. Should be made more accessible for people with disabilities. Lots of stairs to climb.

Chaumukha Jain Temple, 1444 A forest of marble pillars, each carved differently from the other.
History of Ranakpur Jain Temple
Ranakpurpur Jain Temple was built to order by a local businessman named Darna Shah. He wanted a beautiful temple built after he had a dream of a celestial vehicle. Many sculptors and artists submitted their designs to Shah but none of them matched the image he had dreamt of. One plan that matched his dream was by an architect named Deepak from Mundara. Deepak was able to make a design because he was impressed by the dedication of Shah to build this temple. Afterwards, Shah sought the land to build the temple from King Rana Kumbha. Not only did he give a big piece of land to build the temple on, but he also asked Deepak to build a town around it. The town built was named Ranakpur, after the king, and the same town is now known as Ranakpur. The construction of the temple began in the 14th century and went on till the 15th century.
There are a total of 5 temples in India that are considered the most sacred for Jain. One of them is Ranakpur Jain Temple. The others in the list are Dilwara Temple in Mount Abu, Rajasthan; Khajuraho Temples in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh; Palitana Temples in Shatrunjya Hills, Gujarat; and Gomateshwara Temple in Shravanabelagola, Karnataka.
When you’re visiting Rajasthan, Ranakpur temple is one of the places recommended to visit. It also goes by the name of Charturmukha Dharana Vihara and is dedicated to Tirthankara Rishabhanatha who was the first Tirthankara of Jainism, and he also founded the Ikshvaku dynasty.
The complex of Ranakpur ka Jain mandir includes 5 temples.
Chaturmukha/Chaumukha Temple
Built in the 15th century using white marble, it is the most popular temple in the complex and it honours Adinath, also known as Rishabanatha. It gets its name from its 4-faced design. This temple is spread across 48,000 square feet and is known for its intricacy and beautifully carved 1444 pillars, 426 columns, 89 domes, and 29 halls. Interestingly, one of the pillars is incomplete. There’s a legend about the temple that one pillar is bound to be incomplete. Whenever it has been completed, it has broken the next day itself. 1444 pillars that support the temple have been carved with exquisite detail that is nearly impossible to do even today.
One of the most attractive features of the temple, besides the pillars, is the beautifully carved idol of Parshvanatha. It has been made out of a single slab of marble. Its beauty in the detail is due to the 1008 snake carefully crafted around the idol. The same idol also has two chauri bears and yaksha and yakshi, who are half-human and half-snake. There are also two elephants carved, one on either side, that seem to be purifying Parshavanath. And you can’t find the end of the tails of these elephants.
The Ranakpur Jain Mandir also has 84 bhonyras. Bhonyras are underground chambers that were built in the earlier times during disturbance to prevent the attacks on Jain idols. It is said that the design of Ranakpur Jain Temple was used as an inspiration to design Dilwara Temple. While Dilwara Jain Temple is not for its sculptures, Ranakpur Jain Temple is known for its intricacies in the design.
Suparshvanatha Temple
Supershvanatha is the seventh Tirthankara and this temple is dedicated. The intricate designs are present even in this temple. It is also popular for the erotic arts on the wall.
Surya Temple
The construction of this sun temple dates back to the 13th century, full 2 centuries before the construction of Ranakpur Jain Temple. But it got desecrated during the time of disturbance due to repeated attacks and was later reconstructed with the remaining temple complex.
So when you are looking for places to visit in Rajasthan, Ranakpur Jain Temple must be on your list

Of all the temples, monuments, palaces, etc. that I've seen in India, Ranakpur Jain Temple is the most impressive building I've ever visited. Completely mesmerizing in its ascetic beauty and engineering. Arguably more beautiful than the great Taj Mahal. It can't be described, not even videos and photos will ever do it justice, it MUST be experienced in person.
Its remote location gives it a distinct peacefulness and serenity that you won't find in other places within India. A MUST SEE bucket list item for sure! 🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Complete peace amidst greenery, hills and forests. I am sure this place will remain cool and calm even during the scorching heat. There are resorts nearby and you can plan a day trip and experience the Ranakpur Wild Area Safari. It is a must visit place. A unique temple that stands only with pillars, no walls. A total of 1444 marble pillars, each pillar has a different design. Very rich in architecture and carvings. It is highly recommended to visit before evening as there are no bulbs inside, only lamps are used for lighting. Therefore, you may miss seeing the carving in detail. However, seeing the temple lit only by lamps is a different experience altogether.

Several steps up to entrance, not sure if alternative wheelchair access available.

The place is serene and peaceful..The architecture is spectacular..if you want to take a mobile you have to get tickets prior from the counter outside.Otherwise locker facility is available for just 10 rupees.
The architecture itself is so beautiful and the prayers and charms add beauty to the place.
You can peacefully pray here and see the place.
The stroll through the garden is also good as there are few temples apart from the main temple .
The outside view of the temple is also really nice.
Toursists are advised to maintain the decorum and instructions given by the staff as it's a religious place..Though it's a little bit away from the city. Its a must to visit place.

Great place for worship. Marvelous craftsmanship on the white marble. A must visit for all the Indians having interest in our culture and heritage. This place has a rich history and it is located in the valley of Aravali mountain on the bank of a rainy river with very little water during the off season. There will be negligible mobile networks in this area. The drive to this place is very scenic via mountain range.

The architecture is splendid. The carvings on the marble stones are immaculate. The temple is surrounded by a forest area. There is a charge to take cell phones, for locals it is 100 INR , for foreigners it is 300 INR. There are other charges for camera as well. The main shrine inside cannot be photographed.

Beautiful ancient architecture. The carving work is amazing. The temple is surrounded by forest area. Besides there are many trees inside the temple campus which makes it even more beautiful. You might get to see many rare birds around. Surrounding was very peaceful. There is a nominal entry free( Extra fee is charged to carry phone inside). Locker facility is available to keep your phones. Free food is served at a fixed time.

Beautiful example of Indian architecture and design. Make sure to include this place in your travel plan and admire the beauty of every corner of it. It has amazing vibes and every step you take is filled with positivity. If you are in Udaipur then you must visit this place and understand its history. Looking for "inner peace", this is the place.

Very beautiful and well maintained. You are required to remove sandals, cover shoulders and knees, and remove any leather apparel such as belts, handbags. Also not allowed to carry water in. Charge of 100 rupees to take photographs. Can't take photographs of worship area. Audio headphones available to rent.

Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary is a nature reserve situated atop a hill, offering spectacular vistas of its surroundings. The sanctuary boasts of several water bodies, teeming with diverse avian species and dense scrub forests. It is an idyllic spot for nature lovers to explore and discover the vibrant flora and fauna that call this place home.
Fair warning, do not expect to see much of wildlife during the day or even in early evening.
But you can see bear claw marks all over the place and even leopard pugmarks if you're lucky enough.
But the view is absolutely breathtaking. The best way to explore the hills is by trekking through the forest reaching various hilltops and view points.
It's a beginner level trek which will take 2-3 hours but includes some rough patches which will challenge the new trekkers.
You can indulge in caving and rock climbing as you go.
Best part about it for me was the rawness of the path. It seemed untouched except for a few spots where idiots left trash unattended.
The trek leaves you thrilled and the view, mesmerized.
There are various camping options near the area. We chose mount Abu adventures and they were an amazing host.
With cozy camps of various sizes, separate bonfires, delicious food and attentive staff they made the stay fun and comfortable.
Try reaching the top most point as the sun is setting for beautiful view and really cool pictures.
Ask the local guides for stories about the area to keep you entertained during the ascent.
Happy travelling!

Its nice and tranquil place. No crowd unlike other tourist points in Mt Abu. Its more or less garden with hill rocks. No Bear,, no crocodile, nothing except monkeys. If you have interest in wild life then do not come. But if you like a calm, cool and tranquility experience then this place is good. NEVER VISIT MOUNT ABU in summer. Its horribly hot place in summe day temperature 42-44 is usual . Best season:- November to January.

The Kumbhariya Jain Mandir in Ambaji comprises two temples, one of which dates back to the 12th-13th century. The complex has undergone several renovations and additions over time, but further modernization is not advised as it may disturb the antiquity of these remarkable temples. Visitors can find clean rooms and dining facilities on-site, and are recommended to spend a full day exploring the art and architecture of the temple complex.

"JAINO KA ATULNIYA ITIHAS"
Kumbharia jain temples Gujarat are a fascinating group of amazing temple structures at Ambaji town which dates back to the 11th and 13th century, respectively. The Kumbhariya group of Jain temples are dedicated to the five theerthankkaras of the Jain religion namely Mahavira, Parshvanath, Neminath Shantinath and Sambhavanath.
According to the legend, Mata Ambika had directed Sheth Vimal Shah, the 11th century minister of the Solankis, to construct 360 Jain temples there. The temples were constructed without Ambe Mata's idols installed. On noticing this, the goddess got furious and destroyed almost all the temples except five of them.
The minister realized his mistake and included the idols of Ambe Mata in the remaining temples. The main shrine constructed in the center of a rectangular courtyard is the highlight of the temple. The beautiful shiksaras, balconies with porches and the excellent craftsmanship and artistic of the temple structure and style bears a striking resemblance to the famous Dilwara temples of mount Abu in Rajasthan.
Kindly do share with all your JAIN groups & friends & even let them know how vast and old our JAIN religion is which was spread all over the world. History is never ending, Its endless

Guru Shikhar, situated in the enchanting landscape of Mount Abu, holds a distinct place among the cherished tourist destinations in Rajasthan. Revered for its serene ambiance and breathtaking views, Guru Shikhar becomes a sought-after retreat, especially during the summer months when the scorching temperatures in Rajasthan prompt visitors to seek refuge in the cool hill station of Mount Abu.
Drawing tourists predominantly from Rajasthan and Gujarat, Guru Shikhar stands out as a prominent attraction, complementing the allure of other popular spots like Nakki Lake, Sunset Point, Prajapita Brahmakumaris Vishwavidyalaya, and the Delwara Jain Temple. For those yearning to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, Guru Shikhar emerges as an oasis of tranquility and natural beauty.
Located approximately 15 kilometers from the heart of Mount Abu, Guru Shikhar proudly claims the title of the highest peak in the Aravalli range, reaching an elevation of 1722 meters above sea level. The ascent to this pinnacle rewards visitors with panoramic views of the sprawling Aravalli Range and the charming hill station below. The sight is nothing short of spectacular, offering a refreshing perspective amid nature's grandeur.
Perched on Guru Shikhar's summit is the Mount Abu Observatory, boasting a 1.2-meter infrared telescope. The observatory strategically resides here due to favorable cloud conditions, ensuring optimal astronomical observations. Additionally, the cave temple of Guru Dattatreya, where Lord Vishnu is venerated, adds a touch of spirituality to the scenic beauty.
To reach Guru Shikhar, a scenic drive of 15 kilometers unfolds, followed by a climb up a series of stairs that lead to the majestic peak. This ascent, though requiring a bit of effort, is a small price to pay for the awe-inspiring vistas and the serenity that awaits at the summit. In essence, Guru Shikhar encapsulates the essence of Mount Abu—a perfect blend of natural splendor, spiritual resonance, and a respite from the urban hustle.

The highest peak of the Aravali ranges, gurushikhar is a prominent tourist attraction in Mount Abu, Rajastan. Located approx 15 km from the main town, the peak is easily accessible via car & bike. You can also get a shared taxi from the town to reach here. The vehicles take you to the parking lot from where you need to climb approx 400 steps to reach the top. There are a couple of temples on the way. The best part of the climb is the awsome view of the Aravali ranges that you get from the top. You also get to see an Observatory and few Air force Radars from the top. The place surely has that zing. Do not forget to listen to Pakistan Radio while you are at the top. Being close to radar and also being the highest point, you can easy catch signals across the border.
Tip - Try to reach the place early morning r late evening. You can plan either for sun rise or sun set view from here.

My family and I had an unforgettable visit to Gurushikhar. The temple atop the mountain truly embodies the essence of Sanatan Dharma, radiating its beauty and spiritual significance. While the temple itself may not be grand in size, its spirality and aura provide a profound experience. The breathtaking scenery from the temple is a sight to behold, offering clear views on cloudless days. It's a haven for meditators seeking to find inner peace and tranquility. Our time there was truly enriching, allowing us to connect with both nature and our inner selves.

One of the best experiences of mount Abu. Lemme explain. Spotted around 15KM from mount Abu Nakki Lake. There is a temple on the peak. But the journey from nakki lake to that peak.
So many attraction points are there in between. Going there with a vehicle is just another level of experience in itself. It's clearly not about the destination, it's about the journey and destination. At peak, there's just a temple and mesmerising mountain view nothing else. It will be worth it when you enjoy the journey also, the adventures in between. We took almost half a day to reach there because we stopped at so many points.
Just advice not to go there by car as there is always so much traffic at peak with the car. Biking will be much better and literally enjoyable. I went there at monsoon by bike and i was feeling like riding among clouds fr.
Give a day to Guru shikhar. It will easily consume your entire day but will be worth it. Visit in Monsoon if you wanna feel the heaven vibes.
Attaching photos and videos for your reference.
