Place is great to get in touch with nature. There is a Juan Valdez and an open space to sit in and enjoy the view while sipping on a good coffee. I would recommend the guided tour walk. It takes you all over the park while the guides explain the type of plants/trees they have. You will eventually be taken to the top so you can witness a gran variety of birds in their natural habitat, definitely beautiful and it makes the two hours well worth it! Bring good shoes and comfortable clothing as it may be cold at times.

Beautiful experience. It was very peaceful. I love my Colombian roots.

Very nice and big parc. With all parcs like this its almost impossible to keep clean and tidy and the same goes for this parc. The cable car wasn't working when we weten here. On the upside, the parc is beautifull. Loads of plants, trees, hummingbirds, butterflies and orchids. Very nice staff who know what they are talking about during the two hour tour for a low price (€5). Great Valdez coffeeshop!
Rick Broekhuizen — Google review
Beautiful place. Unless you are only visiting the Juan Valdez, it is required to pay for a guided tour. I went with a group of 3 and we enjoyed ourselves. We had a great guide (Mauricio) and we learned about the local plants/animals of Manizales, bonsai trees, butterflies and hummingbirds.

What a beautiful setting. Nature galore. part of the Estelar Recinto del Pensamiento Hotel. There are sheep on the grounds plus a nature walk with all kinds of birds.
Richard Schagrin — Google review
10/10 100% worth it, the tour was very interesting and informative.
Keiren — Google review
It's a beautiful place for walking, and nature sightseeing, fantastic cafeteria... people really nice + tour guide truly knowledgeable and helpful. Fantastic for meditation and expending the Sunday afternoon with friends or family
Bring your rain gear just in case.
German Trujillo-Ruiz — Google review
Nice place to spend a couple of hours. The most remarkable attractive was the hummingbird station, the butterfly's and bonsai's parts were nice too, and the guide did a nice job explaining everything with detail. I didn't like that the orchid exhibition and the cable transport were not available, for respect to tourists they should inform of this in their website, because the entrance fee makes sense if all services were available.

Manizales, Km 11 via al Magdalena, Manizales, Caldas, Colombia
The Catedral de Manizales, located on the south side of Plaza de Bolivars, is a unique and impressive Catholic cathedral. Completed in 1939, it boasts a rose window and canopy on the main altar. Constructed of reinforced concrete, this cathedral represents one of the first churches of its kind in Latin America. Its main tower stands at an impressive height of 106m; making it the tallest church tower in Colombia.
Nice cathedral. And the climb to the top is spectacular
David — Google review
If you have the time (70 minutes) do the tour! It takes you to the top of the spire and you get to learn about the history of the church and the city of Manizales.
Backroad Packers — Google review
Historic and nice church with a coffee shop on the second floor. Informative and very nice tour.

Known as the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Rosary is located right in the middle of Manizales. A vey beautiful church which is quite large. It has a tower which you can go up to to see a great view of the city.

Nice view and tour, 395 stairs to dome
David Lopez — Google review
What an incredible tour! For 13000 COP we had a 1:15 tour that took us up to the Polish Corridor. It's not for the faint of heart, but the views are spectacular.
Michael Greer — Google review
An impressive place with interesting history. I took the guided tour, which is not very expensive but takes a couple of hours. The highest lookout gets a bit crowded and hard to move, but there are many amazing views on the way up.
James Playfair — Google review
I think it's one of the best in Colombia. Glass work is great. The cost of participating in a touristic tour inside the cathedral is 13,000 COP per person. Children are 8,000 COP. With this tour, you can also climb to the highest point of the cathedral. Inside, on the 2nd floor, there is a cafe overlooking the square. The service in the cafe is bad but the coffee is good.
Öner Buçukcu — Google review
Very, very nice from the top. It's the tallest church from Columbia. You can only reach the top if you book a tour which takes 75 min and is in spanish language. The tour was very interesting and costs 13.000 COP per person. It's especially recommended to do the tour at 17:00, to see the city by sunset/nighttime when the lights turn on.
Timo Schönfelder — Google review
Nice spot to poke your head in and take a look. This magnificent Basilica has a cafe on the upper level that was really nice and has a great view overlookong the main square. We wanted to climb to the top but this is only possible via a paid tour. The tour pricing was a bit too much and duration was over an hour and we didn't want to spend that long there so we didn't do it.
Adam Bourne — Google review
It's an interesting place to visit, full of history and great for people who aren't afraid of heights. But the guide was missing a lot of information about the place.

plaza de Bolivar, Cra. 22 #24-13, Manizales, Caldas, Colombia
The Monumento a Los Colonizadores is a striking 15-meter-high bronze sculpture located in the neighborhood of Chipre. Crafted from 50 tonnes of bronze, it depicts pioneers with their tools and animals, symbolizing the city's founders. The monument offers a spectacular view over Manizales and PNN Los Nevados. Additionally, it features two separate sculpture sets: one representing the city's founders and another named "Agony," depicting the city suffering from an earthquake.
This will be forever one of the most wonderful pieces ever created. Love the story love the art. Moving! Also, best view of Manizales and part of the coffee axe.
Fernando A. Garc?a-Bastidas — Google review
The most amazing place if you wanna see bravery and courage building a city in a piece of art.
Alejandro G?mez — Google review
This monument is composed of two separated sculpture sets. While the one at its center gives the name to the monument, it's the other one hidden at the back that made my trip worth it. This one, named "Agony" a miniature of the city layed as it was suffering from an earthquake, while the surrounding bulls withstand the blow. The entire piece is well crafted and it's a metaphorical representation of a dramatic event.

Nice place with an amazing view all around Manizales. Lot of amazing mountains. I had some fog but it was magic even with the fog. Nice walk up there.
Dario Nisivoccia SMILING TRAVELLER — Google review
It's actually pretty high. ideal for observing the city and the natural beauties surrounding the city. The whole city was covered with fog on the day we were there. especially high altitudes. It was an interesting composition. For example, the church on the back of an ox. We were expected to understand the ordeal and suffering of the colonizers. There is usually a parking lot around. Entry is free.
Öner Buçukcu — Google review
A lovely walk to this monument. Beautiful views and there were lots of excellent food trucks nearby.
Nicole Grant — Google review
Free entrance, beautiful sculpture at the top of the hill. Nice view, try the Obleas or Milhojas outside the monument. Simply delicious
Diego Armando Sacristan — Google review
Really nice to walk around for half an hour, especially on a clear day. Highest part of the city so there are excellent views. Gliding also available here!

Nice monument about the colonization of this area. The promenade close by has many restaurants and street food (at least on Sunday). Perfect for a stroll and trying all kinds of foods.

A nice monument museum in Manizales that talks about the history of Manizales.
Although the culinary experience at Dulces Del Jardín was enjoyable and the pastries were relished, there was a desire for more variety. One pastry had a filling of apples and was sprinkled with almonds, while another resembled a roll with dulce de leche. Both desserts were delicious and not overly sweet, which was highly appreciated. The shop also sells local products in a cute setting adorned with flowers and hanging pots.
I enjoyed walking into this store just by coincidence and by hearing it a while ago. It seemed magical at first seeing all the selections and exotic things jarred and stored on the shelves for display. I gave as gifts for a couple friends back home and they enjoyed every bit of the jars Dulces De Jardin had to offer.

While we enjoyed our culinary experience and relished the pastries, we expected more in terms of options. We ordered a pastry filled with apples and sparkled with almonds and another one similar to a roll with dulce de leche. Both were delicious and not too sweet, which we highly appreciated. They also sell some local products. The setting is quite cute, with many flowers and pots hanging on the walls.

Pueblito Paisa is a charming hilltop replica of an Antioquian town, featuring modern and abstract sculptures. It offers a nearly 360-degree panoramic view of the city from within its heart, making it a popular tourist destination for those looking to enjoy breathtaking views of the cityscape during daylight hours or sunset. Visitors can explore the replicated historical village and its few buildings, as well as browse stores and visit museums.
The Plaza Botero in Medellín, Antioquia is home to 23 sculptures by Fernando Botero, as well as a landscaped grounds and benches. It is a tourist attraction and a part of the Free Walking Tour of Medellin.
Great plaza with train access, and lots of cool architecture and sculptures. If you are a tourist, do not explore too far from the plaza. It seems to be in a really sketchy location.
Alice Wu — Google review
It is a real treat for yourself to see all these sculptures in one place. You can easily spend hours looking at them, also the buildings and the people passing by.

Statues are very awesome. Have some vendors nearby selling all kinds of things in the park, it does get pretty packed. It isn’t in the best area, I definitely wouldn’t go around nighttime.
Jake Moore — Google review
Botero is the the most famous artist from Colombia so this is a must visit in Medellin if you like art museums. I am pretty indifferent about art but his style is unique. The plaza itself is vibrant and a good place to photos. It is also easily accessible with a train station. I would spend a couple hours in the plaza + museum combined and give it 3.5 stars.

A beautiful square in the middle of downtown Medellin. In the middle of the square you will find large works of art by Boltero, beautiful architecture. The location of this square shows (unfortunately) at the moment how divided the city is. The square is fenced off and 'secured' by police. I recommend not visiting the streets outside the square. Other than that, I really enjoyed it.
Eduard Verbaarschot — Google review

Medellín is working to improve parks and the neighborhood and this is one step showing it’s working. Beautiful art sculptures in this park. On my visit on 5/7/23, there were police controlled entries to the park strictly because the area is being gentrified. This is a beautiful place to stroll through and enjoy the sights.

There is just so many positives to this place that it's hard to list them all. I will say it has plenty of things to keep the kids entertained of all ages. My boys loved the rock climbing wall, the aquarium, the making a movie commercial. Just getting to be so hands on with everything and what they can learn. You can spend plenty of hours there exploring.

Lovely day spent learning and playing. Highly recommend, even without kids- it’s fun!

What a wonderful place.
This is a interactive museum where you can learn thousands of interesting things.
You will need at least one full day to visit it, best if you take two.
When you come in, there is a few interesting attractions in the outdoor part, where you can experience some cool things about physics.
There is a small but interesting aquarium with sweet and salty water spices and a terrarium with only few but cool small animals.
In the different rooms of the park (music, mind, time…) you get to see, touch, read, hear and experience in different ways how those things work. There are a looot of pieces to interact with. Everything have explanations in Spanish and most of them in english as well.
There is looots of staff around the place to help you, answer your questions and explain you the attractions.
Most of the workers very kind, friendly and very passionate about the job.
Inside of the park you have some restaurants and cafes so you don’t even need to go out.
When its busy, it can be a bit overcrowded and you will have to wait some time to get to use the different components, but not a big deal.
Very recommended for everyone, families, couples, kids and adults. There is something for everyone.
We loveeed it and when we will be back in Medellin, we will be back at explora Park without doubt.
Congratulations for the amazing park and keep up the good work.

My family came here to spend the day while visiting Medellin last week. Based on the website and YouTube videos, I didn’t really know what to expect. I knew there were the outdoor hands on activities and the aquarium, but I didn’t know about all the other activities upstairs.
We spent 5 hours here walking through the outdoor areas, aquarium and all 4 of the themed rooms. We were pleasantly surprised by all the hands on, interactive stations in each section. Each room upstairs is separated into different themes: time, music, mind and “on stage.” Each area had something interesting for both adults and kids. It was a perfect way to spend the day for my 8 year old.
The staff was helpful and everyone we interacted with was very pleasant. They helped us understand what each activity was about and the man working down in the aquarium was very informative and nice to speak with. The facilities were clean and well maintained with nothing out of order.
The only thing that could be improved upon in my opinion is the food offerings. There are only a few fast food options and nothing looked fresh or well made. Be sure to eat beforehand or bring snacks if you will be there for a long time.
For the price we paid (40 mil COP per person) and all the fun we had, it was well worth it. I highly recommend to visit here, especially if you have kids.

Parque Explora near the Botanical Gardens is interesting for both children and adults. This is a great place to visit and explore via the many interactive exhibits. Plan on a good 3 hours at the minimum to get the best bang for your buck. The life-sized dinosaur statues are must-see too.
Acevedo Cra.63 #103g-86 Medellin offers a super efficient and well-maintained transportation system in the heart of Medellin. The structures are impressive, clean, and secure, making it a must-visit for travelers. Despite safety concerns, the area is extremely safe and smooth to navigate, especially with the option to switch between metro and metrocable seamlessly.
Incredible! This is the cable car you start at and connect to next train and keep going up to get to Parque Arvi. Unforgettable ride

Here you can change between metro and metrocable. You don't have to pay to take the metrocable if you are coming here with the metro. If you are lucky you can see a cow swimming in the river.

Super efficient service mid Medellín. I was quite impressed with the structures, the cleanliness and security. The sites are beautiful, a certain must. I’ve heard some people are a bit skeptical on the safety concern. These are extremely well maintained, have never had an issue and are very smooth considering some winds mid hill.

The service of the metro system is great. The station is getting bigger to add another cable system to the other side. Now you can take the cable to the north - oriental side of medellin anding in a natural park and soon, there will be a cable going to the north- west side.

This station becomes filled with thousands of people. From 3:30-7:30pm the traffic becomes intense and the stations become rough.
The prominent natural formation, also known as El Penon de Guatape, is a massive granite monolith that towers over the Embalse Guatape. Standing at an impressive height of 200 meters, it features a wide crevice through which visitors can access its peak via a brick staircase comprising 659 steps. The summit offers breathtaking panoramic views of the region including the sprawling lake and surrounding green mountain ranges.
Lovely nature with the lakes around and the climb to the top of the mountain is around 750 steps. The view is absolutely amazing from there. You could just take an uber from medelin which costs around 120K COP for a car or the piblic bus which is 25K per person.

Nice view, would recommend going after 2pm during weekdays, wasn’t crowded at all when we got up! Nice views, sun was out. In the morning there was some rain and much clouds. And between 11 and 1 lots of tourbusses come i guess.
Rik van de Wiel — Google review
After putting off our trip for months, we finally made it to El Peñol, and it truly lived up to expectations! Even on a weekday, there were plenty of people around. Climbing the rock costs 18,000 pesos, which you pay at the entrance before starting up the steps. The granite rock remnant stands at 650 feet, and while it looks intimidating, I found the climb reasonably short, especially compared to other hikes I've done in South America, Europe, and Asia, finishing it in about 15-20 minutes. You don't need to be in tip-top shape to reach the top, but you will get a solid workout. The view from the top is stunning as you look out over the small islands scattered across the reservoir.

We were in town Easter weekend so all of Guatape is full of people. It says it does not open until 8am. But we jumped on a larger "jeepney" style ride - bigger than tuc-tuc and people hopped in and off along the way. Was only 2500 COP each from Guatape to the bottom of the Piedra. There are tuc-tucs that can take you up to the entrance - which is a great view. We hiked up since we were early. Left Guatape 6:45am - got to the rock a little before 7am. Got to the entrance around 7:30am and there was already a line. Be sure to get your tickets at the booth to your left - then line up to enter (up the steps) to your right. Tickets are 20,000 a person. They were letting people in early and we were in before 7:45 am.
It was nice and cool and breezy and not crowded. So glad we got there early. Beautiful views, very strong, well made steps, gift shops, toilets, first aid, and refreshments available at the top. I have asthma but i just took a few breaks a long the way and I made it to the top. Fabulous panoramic views of the lakes and mountains! Glad we made it! We met up with a beautifully painted tuk-tuk when we exited the gated area and he took us back to Guatape for 6000 each - 12,000 cop for the 2 of us.

a must-see sight in a cool town from when you’re looking at day trips from Medellin. The bus ride will take you over 2 hours. When you get to the rock, there’s about 600 steps. It took us about 10 minutes to walk to the top, and it was quite a strenuous hike. Views are worth it

One of the best views in Colombia. The climb might be hard if you’re not in shape or if you’re pregnant or really old (or disabled- not possible). 700 steps from ticketing (20mil cop each), plus if you’re by foot from main road add to it like 300 more.
There are two view points from above, some stores and free bathroom.

Fascinating attraction to visit. The climb appeared to be tough but was actually quite manageable. Likely to take 20-30 minutes to climb to the top depending on the crowd. With more people, the climb would be slow, hence not strenuous. Fantastic panoramic view of the surrounding area at the top. Very busy. It's worth a trip

Great time! You can go alone, or with the tour guide, I recommend going with a tour guide, make sure you pick the right one. 740 steps can be accomplished in about 20 minutes going up (if you’re healthy). Beautiful 360° views.
There are a lot of vendors leading up to the rock where you have to pay to use the bathroom but if you wait and go to where you have to buy tickets, there’s a free bathroom right by the first steps to go up the rock.
Thea Rose — Google review
It's quite a hike (740 steps and about 200 m) but the view is worth it. The restaurants and souvenir shops above are a bit distrative since it's mandatory to go through them to reach the top. No cameras in the staircase or aid-team, that brings a bit safety issue. Hope that it will have more accessible way of getting up in the future.

25000 cop entry fee. Different paths to go up and down. The way down don’t have any views. A good exercise but takes 10 mins to climb if you are really fit. 20-25 mins max if you take breaks. They sell beverages in thr top. Great views.

A huge rock worth climbing. It takes about 15-20min to climb up 659 steps while enjoying a woderful view. There is a bar a souvenir shops up top, and several viewing decks.
I recommend coming before 10am, as it gets very crowded after that, and the staircase is not too wide. Seperate narrower staircase is used to climb down.
There are several restaurants and souvenir shops at the bottom of the rock.
Established in 1865, the Church of Our Lady of Carmen captivates visitors with its central altar, a centerpiece of detailed wood carvings. The artistry extends to the side altars, each carved with equal skill and care. By 1930, the church had been equipped with benches for the congregation and updated with bells that reverberated throughout the area. During our visit, we had the chance to peek inside amid a service.

Parroquia Nuestra Señora del Carmen de Guatapé church is a very beautiful and large Catholic church located right on the main square. Its construction began in 1865. The church was inaugurated two years later but it took 70 years to complete the building. The church was built in the Greco-Roman style, characterized by large arches (you can see a lot of them inside) and circular bevels that adorn the bases and tops of its columns. The church strikes its visitors with its clean and exquisite lines and decor mainly made out of carved wood. It has a magnificent large altar. The entry is free and it is highly recommended to visit if in the neighborhood.

Sure, it’s an magnificent feat of engineering and offers spectacular views of the mountains yonder, but the surrounding areas are not worth the visit. The river is barely there with global warming drying its banks. The drive there is quite pleasant, it once there, it’s not exactly inviting. Motorcycles fill the remaining areas of the dried-up river and a look out point allows visitors to see the other side of the river (which is a whole lot of nothing. On the bridge itself, it’s narrow and creaky, but definitely solidly built. The cables holding the structure together are visible at the ends, but nothing to be impressed about. When we went the whole thing was under renovations so no motor taxis allowed, just foot traffic. Because it was so narrow, it’s inconvenient to stop in the middle to take photos or breathe in nature. We just walked to the other side which had vendors and a restaurant and public washrooms. The place was messy with garbage littered everywhere. The riverbank also smelled of sewage. The bridge is more of a “been there, done that”. Is it a “tourist attraction”? More of a waste of time. Skip it if you are in the area.

It takes about 20 minutes from Tolú. When you arrive, the natives of the area are outside offering the tour. They have a sign with prices, but you can always negotiate. We took the couple's tour for $70,000, it was very comfortable because there were almost no people. We cross the bridges and arrive at the houseboat, where you can buy drinks or something to snack. There the person who gave us the tour gave us oysters that he collected on the tour, and accompanied them with a delicious sauce. The tour was approximately one hour in total. They rent hats for $2000, totally recommended since the sun is strong. We saw some animals: raccoons, eagles, swallows, etc. There are only boats since they do not allow boats due to pollution, which I think is excellent for preserving nature.

If you like birds even a little bit then you’ll love this aviary. The macaws are free roaming. Two walked out of the men’s room to greet me as I was headed to the ladies room. As I sat in the first enclosed aviary, one of the birds landed on the bench and decided to hop onto me to clean my skin. It would pull my sleeve to look under it. It was gentle and the beak didn’t hurt at all. It was an amazing experience. I’ve always wanted to see a toucan and we did. All the birds are well cared for and look beautiful. I suggest you eat before you go since there are only some drinks and ice cream. This was the most wonderful experience we had when we visited Cartagena.

The place is a bit difficult to get to, you’ll need a car, a taxi service or an Uber. It is also difficult to get back from the Aviario so it’s recommended you hire someone to pick you up or wait for you a few hours to then drive you back. That aside, the place is great, so many nice, exotic birds (we were welcomed by two peacocks squaring up to each other). You can also see iguanas just lying around being iguanas.
The trip there is worthy, totally recommended.
It also has picnic areas, toilets, and a gift shop. They do two presentations a day that talks about the birds, some history behind them, facts and stats and other interesting information.
They charge one price for locals and another price for foreigners.

Excellent experience. Would recommend if you enjoy birds of any kind. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. It was about a 45 minute ride from the cruise port,a little bumpy in spots but you get to see the countryside (good & bad). The birds are well cared for and engaging. It was wonderful.

We had a lovely time touring the grounds, so many cool and beautiful birds! Highlight was of course the flamingos!
Ant Wirjo — Google review
The variety of birds is incredible. The walk through the park is well maintained but not suggested for wheelchairs. As you enter the park, there is a macaw tree where the birds are free to move around, with no cages. One had even landed on a man's shoulder.

Very nice place with a lot pf different birds and also a lot of iguanas. The park is very clean and all the animals are looking healthy and fit. It's a little bit difficult to go back to the city from this place because there are no uber or taxis. But the staff was very friendly and helpful and she was organizing a taxi to go back to cartagena.

A lovely strip of white sand that is ideal for swimming, Playa Blanca is a popular spot for boat trips and jet ski rentals. It features several beachside eateries where visitors can enjoy delicious food while soaking up the sun. A must-visit destination nearby is Isla Baru, which offers stunning views of Playa Blanca as well as opportunities to explore the charming Old Town and sample tasty street food.
Loved the peace in this place. Very touristy place. It is a combination of sandy beaches and hostels. I love how peaceful it was for me. There are tours for different islands from there And you have the chance to see planktons there.

It's a beautiful beach with plenty of options to order a drink and chill. The amount of sellers coming to you is unbelievable. You can't spend 5 mins without a person selling something to you. I was napping and one lady just started a massage on my feet saying that I don't need to pay it because it was a demonstration. The sellers are very invasive and annoying.....

I think this place is over rated. I would categorize it as follow:
-Crime HIGH ⭐️ - cellphone got stolen as soon as we arrived
-Water 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
-Vendors- ⭐️ too many and pushy
-Infrastructure -100 ⭐️> there is no light at night, the entrance is horrific, as if you were going to get kidnapped, dirty, it looked like a dump. No running water, no electricity, not real good food, very disastrous bus ride. Forget about it.
-Plankton water: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ awesome, it’s really cool, only a few places in the world.
-Sunset ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ beautiful
-sand-beach ⭐️⭐️ too many rocks, don’t believe the pictures you see posting, these is only in a few little spots.
-safety feeling ⭐️⭐️ people are nice, but everyone is on top of you, and we got robbed.
Stay away, find another beach!
Mauro Briceno — Google review
This is NOT a place to relax on the beach.
Vendors every 30 seconds bothering you. There is apparently 300 masseurs in the beach. Even when you say no multiple times, they will stop and touch you to give you a free sample. Lots of vendors will try to scam you.
If you want to visit, book an island tour where you can visit different beaches and don’t stay here overnight.
We stayed for 3 nights and regret it very much. After 7:30 pm, nothing happens. Restaurants and hotels have generators and it make lots of noise.
I do NOT recommend this beach.

Beautiful water and coral! A very busy beach, vendor's non-stop, with jetskii, and boats to close to the beach. The beach quality is amazing tho.
Chris Korpuze — Google review
The jetskis and boat issues most of the reviewers list here are still relevant, but at least now there's a regulator guy that goes around asking how much you've paid so that you don't get absolutely ripped off. Regardless, if you're a foreigner around the Cartagena area, make sure you ask for prices BEFORE receiving.
Ulothrix — Google review
The beach and the water is beautiful, the services are poor, no water to shower or use bathrooms with. The local vendors are rude and pushy, they would not let us relax until we ran out of cash and then they had a middle man who they used his credit card machine for a commission fee of 50,000 COP. A rip off. Very disappointed with these vendors, I mean you go to a beach to relax not to buy things. If the locals need money then they should charge a blanket fee to cover their salaries. This is illegal in the USA, you simply cannot harass people on public beach. The locals looked kind of sketchy, I was afraid to get kidnapped for a ransom e or something like that.
Kevin Taheri — Google review
Boats and jet skis pull into the beach where people are swimming, it's dangerous so watch out for them. It also smells strongly of gasoline. It could be beautiful if there was health and safety and the boats had a peer away from people. The tour boats are full of people with little care for your enjoyment or relaxation, they're very pushy. For older people, take your time getting on the boats and don't listen to them hurrying you as people have fallen and hit their heads badly on seats!
Caroline G — Google review
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
this is a beautiful space ruined by locals trying to squeeze every dollar they can out of you.
It starts as you approach the entrance to the beach and it gets worse as you move in. Vendors aka THIEFS trying to show you the way. GET THEM OFF YOUR BACK AS SOON AS YOU CAN. The place is basically run by gangs.
The positive reviews are by people who have paid an organization to take them there and provide accommodations. If you go without an organized group, prepare to get robbed.
DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING WITHOUT FIRST ASKING FOR A PRICE. PAY AS YOU ORDER.
Honestly just avoid. If you don’t want a negative impression of Colombians or Cartagena area. Or go with an organized guide/tour. Pay in advance for security and comfort so you don’t feel cheated in the end.

It was the best beach we visited while in Cartagena. It's really busy so be sure to keep and eye on your things. The only bad thing was that we almost got run over by a jet ski on its way back to the beach. The color of the water is pretty and there are a lot of restaurants and tours you can take here.

Beautiful landscape and water, but terrible people. Once you’re on the beach you have to survive one scam after another one, impossible to have peace and relax as many of the tours offer, would not recommend to visit anymore.

Too many vendors and flys. We couldn't walk on the beach because of all the chairs and beds. Way overcrowded for me to completely enjoy.

The beach was relaxing yet busy. There were locals offering plenty of water activities ranging from pontoons to jet skis. The food and drinks were refreshing. Be respectful to the vendors and respectfully their offers if you aren't interested and enjoy your time there.

Visiting Cartagena, you MUST book this company. They offered great service and were very knowledgeable of the area. They offer a host of tours and are able to book just about any experience you want. I booked them for a birthday photoshoot, including a drone, in the beautiful art district of Getsamani. It was such a fun experience, not only enjoyed the experience and photos but also the pleasant personality of Owner Fabio and his assistant Luis. My friends and I enjoyed our day with them and felt like they were longtime friends. Professional, prompt service, with a fun vibe. I look forward to booking them again when I return.

What an absolutely fabulous experience! This was one of my favorite days in Cartagena by far- if you are visiting even for just a few days, you MUST do this experience! Fabio is a gem- he has great energy and really made us all feel comfortable and welcome. He’s a real gentleman too, insisting on carrying our bags everywhere and always helping us in and out of the boat. You could tell he’s really passionate about what he does! The experience itself was unforgettable- I loved the beach (not Playa Blanca the noisy beach but Playa Tranquila, a quiet and more relaxed beach) and the beach club we relaxed at was lovely and had a place to secure belongings too. We got to snorkel and feed fish as well as feeding adorable tropical raccoons- one of my favorite parts! We spent more time at the beach and ended the beautiful day in such a magical way- swimming under the moon and stars with bioluminescent plankton. All throughout the day, everything was handled for us so it was hassle-free and purely relaxing. I really cannot recommend this experience enough, it far exceeds the local tours and you get exceptional value for what you pay.

The catholic church Santuario de San Pedro Claver is a must-see in Cartagena due to its beautiful facade and altar, housing the remains of Saint Peter Claver.

The Sanctuary takes you through the history of San Pedro Claver who dedicated most of his life to evangelizing slaves in Cartagena during the 1600’s. He was canonized as a saint in 1888 by Pope Leo XIII.
You can spend a good hour or so touring the church, garden, artwork, and the rooms where Claver lived and worked. Highly recommend a visit if you’re in Cartagena.

Olivaldo Lima — Google review
The church of the Santuario de San Pedro Claver (1580-1654) in Cartagena, Colombia, was constructed of limestone brought from nearby Isla de Tierra Bomba. Originally a Jesuit church, it suffered serious damage during the republican upheavals of the mid 19th century. The remains of Catholic saint San Pedro Claver are beneath the high altar. The rose window depicts the Jesuit saint preaching to black slaves. The Oratorio contains a painting of Claver, the "Slave of slaves forever", of his death bed surrounded by black converts. Claver has been called the "Patron of Human Rights" for his work evangelizing the enslaved Africans of New Granada.

This is the church of San Pedro Claver de Cartagena. A Spanish priest Pedro Claver came to Columbia during the building of the fort. The fort was built by thousands of slaves shipped here by the Spanish. Pedro was appalled by their treatment and moved to help them. He dedicated the rest of his life to ministering to the slaves. He called himself “a slave to the slaves”. He is highly revered and the church conferred sainthood on Pedro in the 1800s.
The church is beautiful. There are lovely stained glass windows. San Pedro himself is entombed in the altar in a glass coffin.
The side rooms contain many wonderful paintings and carved statues. In the center courtyard, there large trees and plantings.
It is a working Catholic Church and you can attend mass there.

Plaza Santo Domingo lies at the heart of the old walled city of Cartagena and is one of the city's most famous squares.
The square is named after the Santo Domingo Church that stands in one of its corners and is lined with charming colonial buildings. The restaurants provide ample outdoor seating and are the perfect spot for dinner or a nightcap. The lively square is full of tourists and street vendors at all hours of the day.
Sadly, the square has a sordid past and was the site of executions during the Spanish Inquisition where Jewish people and non-Catholics were persecuted. There is even a legend that the Devil himself tried jumping on the roof of the Church of Santo Domingo You can learn more about this tragic time in Cartagena’s history at the Palace of the Inquisition.
A real tourist attraction is the statue of the naked woman laying there on a high rock.

The Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas was built in the 1600s as one of Spain's greatest hilltop fortress complexes. It is still an impressive structure, with a complex tunnel system and stunning views. The fortress is also home to audio tours that allow visitors to learn more about the history of the site.
Very cool place. Admission is only 25,000 pesos ($6.25 USD) and you’ll spend about an hour walking around and enjoying the scenery. Like others have said, wear sunscreen if you’re out during the sunny part of the day.

Well... If you love ancient architecture and history, this is a great place to visit in Cartagena. I purchased a ticket and wandered on my own through the castle, but I noticed there were many people with guides if that's more your thing. I recommend buying some water before you go in because you won't get another chance until you get to the store at the top of the castle that supports a local school for underprivileged kids in the Gethsemane neighborhood. There are great views of the city from the castle and many photo ops.
The only downside of my visit was the two cruise ships that offloaded passengers right about the time I arrived, so it was crowded.
There was a delightful man dressed in historic costume playing a trumpet who was extremely grateful for a small tip for enjoying the music. A dollar goes a long way for him.

Must visit castle at Cartagena. The views of the city are outstanding, while heritage is well preserved. The tour takes about an hour long, and there are cool tunnels on the way. Street vendors could be somewhat annoying.
Jose Pablo Garc?a — Google review
I strongly advice not to waist your money and time here. Specially don’t come if the heat and sun are too strong. If you really feel you want to visit this place I would come very early or at sunset.
The line to buy the tickets its usually long and slow but the worst part is the hundreds of street vendors trying to sell you and umbrella, a hat or water. They will be very very pushy and annoying. If you are already here you must have: a hat, big bottle of water and maybe they will ignore you.
The ticket is not super expensive but the views are not cool, the museography is non existent, there are no tours unless you paid for private ones and the view from the top is super boring. This fort is more of you explore and google if you have questions. There are a couple of sign with information but it’s boring and not very helpful. I didn’t learn anything at the end.
Skip this place and go to city and enjoy a cocktail, you will thank me later.

If you are into history (and you know before hand what happened in this area) then this is an interesting spot to visit. If your time in the city is short and you are not so interested in history then I recommend you skipping this spot and instead enjoy the old town streets.
You will learn nothing by visiting this spot, unless you hire a private guide somewhere else . There are no historical explanations or remarks
Even tho this is named as a “castle” it is actually better labeled as a fortress . This is a concrete fortress with some narrow tunnels , that’s it. Unless you are a history person the only thing to enjoy is to take some pictures at the top.I also feel that the balance of cost / entertainment is bad.
Maybe more interesting than the fortress itself is the monument nearby which has a stolen coin made by the British empire to celebrate what they thought would be a victory . This one you can access for free

A very nice piece of history! It reminds me of the fort in St. Augustine, FL! A major downside, is that its not very accessible for people with disabilities. My husband has a lot of leg/foot pain from an accident several years ago, and to get to the top of the castle, you must walk up either very steep ramps, or many stairs. We rented a wheelchair for my husband, but the ramps were so steep, it was very difficult to push him up. My brother had to help, and a gentleman from New York also helped push him up one of the ramps! Obviously, we could not explore the tunnels inside the castle, because of the many stairs (which is understandable, as the fort was built many years ago, before wheelchairs, and they want to keep it as authentic as possible and in its original state), but at the same time, it would be nice to create some type of way to allow people with disabilities to explore and experience the castle in all of its beauty!

Nestled in the heart of Cartagena, the San Felipe de Barajas Fort is an architectural gem steeped in history. As an avid traveler, I was drawn to this fortress by its rich heritage and stunning panoramic views. From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was transported back in time to an era of colonial intrigue and maritime conquest.
The sheer scale of the fortifications is awe-inspiring, a testament to the ingenuity and determination of its builders. Exploring the labyrinthine tunnels and ramparts, I couldn't help but marvel at the strategic prowess that went into its design. The interactive exhibits dotted throughout the site provided valuable insights into its military significance and the stories of those who defended it.
One of the highlights of my visit was ascending to the highest point of the fort, where I was rewarded with breathtaking views of Cartagena's skyline and the shimmering Caribbean Sea beyond. It's a perfect spot for photography enthusiasts or anyone simply looking to soak in the beauty of their surroundings.
The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, eager to share anecdotes and answer any questions I had about the fort's history. Additionally, the well-maintained grounds and facilities ensured a comfortable and enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages.
Whether you're a history buff, an architecture enthusiast, or simply someone in search of unforgettable vistas, the San Felipe de Barajas Fort is a must-visit destination in Cartagena. I can't recommend it highly enough – be sure to add it to your itinerary when exploring this vibrant city.

It is a beautiful historic place, the views are fantastic from the castle. I only wish there were more people telling the history of it not just the bus tour guides as we did not arrived with them and so you miss a lot of the interesting facts about the place.
One thing to keep in mind is that the street vendors will tell you to buy water or hats before entering, but you are also able to find and buy at the top of the castle at the store.

A must visit when in Cartagena. I would recommend going here as soon as they open so that the sun is not as harsh. The tunnels and architectural importance of the castle and its capability to defend the city is worth a visit. A very rich history and a great place to spend and hr or two
Darshan Shetty — Google review
Must-see place to visit with family or friends. You can do the guided tour. Wish we had done that, it would've been more fun. But as most folks will tell you, come prepared, get water, sun glasses, hat or else you will get cooked in the sun.
We did it in 35° heat and it was almost unbearable. You may find relief as you go to the top, the breeze provides some relief (only if you are unobstructed).
The flag and fort background is the most photographed spot in entire Cartagena. My recommendation would be to plan your visit such that you are there for sunset.
Anyways enjoy!!!

It was ok, but it's not stunning...
There are no signs how to walk around and the tunnels are sometimes just without light and you have no clue where to go..
Thorsten Ueberschaer — Google review
Highly recommend a tour guide, as there is nothing to explain the history of this place once there. If you’re not into history, then I would skip it. The photos are fun to take with the canons.
Bring water, no shade unless your walking through the tunnel.
Jacklyn Schniepp — Google review
Interesting history but it was the view that got me good in this place. Don’t worry about souvenirs. There’s plentry of vendors in the area they accept credit cards as well as for the entrance fee here. Lots of taxis waiting outside too
Nico Samneil Salado — Google review
The best part of the castle for me was the view and the walk-around. I personally am not fond of museums and historical places, although I like to get to know the story of something when it’s a castle or something like this.
There is the story spread around, there is also some kind of labyrinth inside the castle which is kind of creepy if you walk in there by yourself, it’s dark with just a few lights and some tourists walking in. I recommend if you’re looking for a different experience than usual, but not if you’re claustrophobic, lol
Higor Ramalho — Google review
Interesting history and very impressive. In great views of the city and worth coming to visit. It's massive so you can take as little or as long as you want here. I would recommend bringing water up as it's pretty hot.
Cam Harper — Google review
We walked in without tickets, just bought here.
Don't need to buy into the tour guide, they have a spot up at the top called "Hospital" where they offer an informative video of the castle/fortress. PLUS a reprieve from the heat!
So fun to walk around the tunnels, they're not too lengthy. Just the right amount of panic before you hit a dead end or the way out.
Great way to see the entire city of Cartagena, hence why the structure is here!

Don’t feel bad if you run out of time to visit during your time in Cartagena. It’s cool to walk around but nothing particularly interesting to see, there are a handful of boards with info and history on the fort once you get to the top but overall wasn’t mind blowing.
Ant Wirjo — Google review
A definite visit in Cartagena to learn more about the city’s history and take in beautiful views of the city. Lots of uphill walking at the beginning, and if there’s sun then I definitely recommend a hat or umbrella. There are vendors both inside and outside of the fort selling souvenirs, and inside at the top of the fort there is a store for souvenirs and refreshments (the juice was very refreshing on the hot day that I went). This is also a stop on the chiva city tour.
Reema Azar — Google review
Amazing structure. Totally worth the visit. Definitely recommend visiting this fort (Castillo). I also recommend going to the “Hospital” they have AC there which is great because it gives you a break from the heat and also you can learn more about the history behind the fortification.

The convent of Santa Cruz de la Popa is a beautiful and historic building that offers breathtaking views of the city. At 150m high, it is the highest hill in Cartagena, and from up there you can see practically everything going on down below. Built in 1607, the convent originally housed just a few nuns, but since then it has undergone many renovations to keep up with modern standards.
Don't let the locals tell you it is unsafe to walk there. There were police patrolling the road. I had a very pleasant stroll to the convent. The place is very well maintained. The views on the city are unbeatable. The buildings are beautifully restored. Lots of signage and explanations made the visit meaningful.

The highest point in Cartagena with amazing views of the city. The Monastery is nice with a beautiful courtyard and a nice church.
Only thing is you need transportation to get you there and wait for you while you visit. That’s is the safest and easiest way.

Beautiful been 4 times even walked in the procession in February one year

If you are interested in the view, this place is for you. Cartagena with a stunning panoramic view. Also, it was nice to walk around the rooms of the place: church, history. It is important to be careful of the peddlers in the place. All communication with them eventually leads to a request for money / a tip - even advice you didn't ask for will cause them to ask for a tip. And most importantly, get to the place and return from it by transport and under no circumstances on foot, for fear of robbery.
shaika avrahami — Google review
This is the highest point in Cartagena and filled with a lot of history. I recommend going with a tour guide who can provide you the historical context as you walk throughout the site. You can definitely feel the spiritual vibe within the walls and in the chapels. There are many beautiful artifacts to check out.
Steven Heath — Google review
Active Church so can be busy with worshipers. Great views of the city and for sunset. Drinks at the top from vendors. Can walk or Ubers will come up. Taxis also a the top.

We just drove up and didn’t pay to see the building but the views were great and the family photo was good!

Beautiful experience! Breath taking view of the whole city can be seen from the top. Nice history and artifacts. Must see and experience this place.

This convent is the highest point on the city. The view is stunning. There is a fee for entry, only Columbian Peso is accepted.
Joelle McIntosh — Google review
Convent Ticket is 13K COP cash only. They officially close at 17:30, tickets sales, but is possible to stay a bit longer outside to enjoy the view, I stayed till 18:15.
Don't go back walking, is not safe, especially after getting dark, Uber is around 21K COP from there to Cartagena Walls just as reference.
Inside is fine but honestly I was more into the view which is definitely worth it. You'll have a 360 of Cartagena, probably the best view of the town. It's a just visit place!
I recommend to get there around 16:30~17:00 and stay till sunset if you can. I took Uber from the Caribe Plaza Mall till there and it was 19K COP.
No need to hire taxi or pay for someone to wait for you, there are always taxis up there if you want.
I visited in July 2023, 35c and 80% humidity, yeah get ready is 🔥

After a twisted road up the hill, this Catholic religious holy site in the middle of Cartagena reveals the entire city's beauty in all directions. There is a chapel and some artifacts within the extremely well kept property. Come for the views and reflection. Gift shop inside.
Ben Standfield — Google review
This small convent is at one of the highest points in Cartagena and gives you a beautiful view of both the city and the ocean. I paid $10 near the entrance to a gentleman who guided me in English, providing the history of the convent. The courtyard contains beautiful limestone arches and pillars with many flowering plants. The cistern in the middle of the courtyard is only used now for watering the plants might used to be to collect drinking water from the rain. There are also some artifacts to view from the time when the convent was in fuller use. You can easily tour the convent in an hour's time.

Covent of Santa Cruz de la Popa dates back to 1607 by an Augustine Monk. When he had a dream that demanded he build a monastery at the tallest point in Cartagena. Which now offers amazing views, golden shine visited by Pope John Paul II in 1986. Still adorns the golden crown placed by him on the Madonnas head. You can even sit in the same chair as the famous Pope when he visited Colombia.

This place has some of the best views of Cartagena. They have a little souvenir shop where you can get rosaries, crosses and other little things!
Lot of history. It’s always hot though so get some water before you buy your tickets to get in.
You can explore by yourself or get a guided tour as well 👍🏽

Spanish-built castle on a hill completed in 1848, now housing an upscale restaurant with sea views.
Gorgeous place, the best view around the Salgar (Barranquilla) area, it left me speechless. I went at almost sunset and the view left me amazed, also you get to breathe pure air. I think it’s a please to go, enjoy, sit, have a chat, reflect or do anything that brings you peace. Plus, it doesn’t have an entry fee and there’s free parking too. Loved it!
Nicolas Quiroga — Google review
Open area outside for great pictures even when the restaurants are closed. There is parking with a security guard.
John-Paul Rojas — Google review
I think the story behind this place is amazing. I didn't get into the castle because I was not sure if could, however exploring outside was a good experience not because of the place itself but because of the history, I was just walking around whilst I was imagining everything, the boats, enormous ships arriving and departing, soldier cannons and a big etcetera.
Carlos Leones — Google review
It's a good view but with nothing else to do. The place is in abandonment by the government and the people.

Guillermo Arias — Google review
It is a shame that the castle isn’t open to the public, still it is a great place to visit in the evening after 4 PM and to watch the sunset. It is incredibly windy and peaceful. There is parking on site and on Saturdays after 4 PM there are some street vendors selling sodas and snow cones.
Vannesa Sheppard — Google review
It's a beautiful and historically important site in the department, it was being managed by Comfamiliar and it was a popular venue for weddings and all kinds of events. However, it's currently abandoned but you can still go and take nice pictures. There's no fee but you can voluntarily tip the guard and park your car.
Estefania Diaz — Google review
It is closed for now but you can enjoy the landscape. There is a restoration inside the building. The landscape is amazing from this height.

One of the best places I have visited lately. Use to go there when I was a kid. Today, the magnificent view of the ocean still intact. A great place to spent a vacation.
Yumbell Donado — Google review
Worth a stop just for the ocean views provided, really stunning. The cliffs give an amazing view of the ocean and waves crashing on the shore. It's really windy at the castle, and you can feel and taste the salt spray on windy days.
If you have little children, keep them close as the access to the cliff is unguarded and could be quite dangerous for unsupervised small children.
The castle is being converted to a mall and is not presently open. If it does open, would be an amazing venue for the views alone.
Highly recommend seeing the castle. The entrance is gated, but admission is free.

Cl. 9 #1316, Salgar, Puerto Colombia, Atlántico, Colombia
Spacious museum featuring exhibits that explore Colombia's Caribbean geography, culture & history.
This was my 2nd time going to the museum. I got there the first time with who is now my husband and later with my dad and niece.
The museum is really nice. It has a huge selection of indigenous things.
My niece also had a great time although she would get anxious and wanted to leave the floors after 15 minutes of been there.
My dad really enjoyed it a lot. He said he will go any other day by himself so he can spend the time reading everything and watching all the videos that the museum offers.
This place is fantastic. It has a private parking and also easy way to get there using public transportation.
Oh I almost forgot. I also saw a group that was been toured by a guide in English. So if you don't speak Spanish there are guides that will teach you in English 😉
Diana Olivares — Google review
Definitely worth seeing (it's located in a bit sketchy area from what I've heard), lots of interesting knowledge of the region, some of the staff speaks English (to some degree, but they really give their best!)
majority of the recordings is in Spanish (if you don't speak Spanish, audio set is available and strongly recommended!)
Overall a nice place to visit!
There is a little nice walk by the entrance to the museum too
It's located nearby train station and there is a taxi parking at the shopping mall nearby
You can buy the ticket by the entrance to the museum
Filip Zakrzewski — Google review
Nice and interesting museum, but difficult to understand without knowledge of Spanish. There is no English translation. Take a sweater with you, it's cold inside the museum :-) The entrance fee is 14k pesos.
Robert Karg — Google review
Museum del Caribe is closed and abandoned. I made the trip there without knowing that it is not operating. There was no information in any website or guide. Please don't go to Barranquilla if the reason is to visit this museum that was described as a high tech museum in cultural trip web site.
Chryssa K — Google review
It isn't as English-friendly as I thought it would be. All of the floors are in Spanish, and we speak intermediate. Difficult for kids with a lower level Spanish, though. The gift shop was reasonably priced, but they could have so much more to offer. On the bottom floor of the museum is Music/Expression. Very cleverly put together and needs no translation.
Angelynn Ballew — Google review
I imagined it was going to be a bigger museum, with more artifacts, more indigenous things, etc. There are many videos to watch, which I can watch on "History Channel". The museum is very dark, the stairs don't have enough light, don't have a yellow stripe to see clearly where they start.
The best thing about the museum was the 1st floor where there is a musical presentation with various musical instruments. All signs are Spanish which means that foreigners must go with a guide. The museum did not meet my expectations
Maria Scozzari — Google review
It’s hard to give it a fair rating as it is closed until March 2020. Our taxi driver told us several other museums would be closed but not this one... Also the Modern Art gallery next door is still being built - at least a year away from completion looking at it. You are in the “dodgy” end of town and we have visited this area several times and everybody is constantly telling you to be careful.
Charlie W — Google review
We were disappointed when we found out that there was nothing in English. No one in the counter told us this even tough we clearly didn't speak Spanish. It's a pity as it's one of the most popular sightseeings in Barranquilla. They didn't accept credit card which is a bit strange in the world nowadays. The music video show in the first floor was entertaining and all we got from this museum.
Park-like zoo featuring open-air displays of animals including lions, elephants, flamingos & more.
This is a good one! Great place to spend the day. Fair amount of animals, clean, good ice cream shop! Overall good for kids or just a fun romantic day!

It is a great zoo even though it is small. My family loved every part of it and you feel really close to the animals... because you are! I would recommend it especially because of the great pricing. The only negative is not much food is available. There are several kiosks throughout the zoo but some are closed since the pandemic.
Best time to go (at least for us)... Between 1:30 and 2:00. It was empty the last 2 times we went!

Amazing selection for an in city zoo, the animals for most part look healthy, some of the cages are too small in my opinion (no aminmal should be caged) we actually brought tickets to what we thought was an illumination sho, didn't realise it was at the zoo at the time which was a pleasent surprize.

Great place for kids, fun time but some of the animals don’t taste very good
Ava Bloom — Google review
Small zoo, needs more funding unfortunately. Still it's an okay zoo for a couple hours if the heat and humiditydoesn't get you first. Some enclosures like the lions and elephant are a bit small to be honest. Although they all look well fed
Diego Romero — Google review
Looking at a depressed harpy Eagle in a tiny cage was personally very tough for me to see.
They had a depressed black eagle there also.
Any bird in a cage is sad to see, they should let them go imho.
They instead should focus on smaller creatures from there like tarantulas and spiders and, small snakes etc.
big animals take up lots of space and they only tend to hide away anyway.
Had everything there to make an incredible zoo if they thought it through a little bit more.
corey kernan — Google review
I attended the zoo today and it was a an informative experience and saw animals that I never even heard of however I understand this is a nonprofit but the conditions are not well for small or big animals for example the African elephant, the tiger, alligator enclosure and many others. Even if it is a nonprofit, It shouldn’t mean that the animals should not have their Water bowl empty and food bowl empty at 10 AM when they open at 8 AM… A few of the enclosures for the animals are very small and you can see the small and big animals pacing in distress. A few of the animals for example the ostriches are under veterinarian care however although the sign says they are on medication, these ostriches should be kept apart, under shade, and perhaps bandages to prevent the ostriches from picking at their wounds. You can even see groups of mosquitoes picking at the animals..Although i enjoyed seeing animals I never thought I would see, I in general do not like zoos and this definitely emphasized that I will never visit a zoo again.
I will forever keep these animals in my thoughts and hope as terrible as it sounds that they pass away soon and peacefully because no animal should live like this. I think the people who work here do care about the animals and like I said I understand it is a nonprofit but there Has to be assistance out there and the enclosures should be kept in better conditions.
Vane L (finessaa96) — Google review
There is a lot of room for improvement.
It does look better than 4 years ago when i visited last time, but animals are looking sad and alone.
Children came excited and we're getting more and more sad as we went through the zoo. Animals could benefit so much from enriched environment, but there is a severe lack of it! Not to mention broken glass at the otter enclosure..
Also, I would give -5* for the prehistoric "website" where you can't open some things at all, can't buy tickets or arrange for the guided tour , and for the lack of possibility to arrange a visit over the phone (especially if you have a big group of children).
