Krabi City Seaview
Hotel
The Krabi City Seaview hotel is a modest establishment that features simple yet comfortable accommodations and an informal restaurant with panoramic ocean vistas. During our three-night stay in two of their unpretentious rooms, we found the 2-star property to be ideal for our needs. The balcony room we stayed in offered breathtaking views that have left a lasting impression on us. Its location, which is only a ten-minute walk from Krabi city center, was also convenient.
We had 2 rooms and stayed 3 nights. As a 2 star hotel it is perfect. Especially balcony room. It has a awesome view never can forget. Good location about 10 minutes walking to Krabi city centre. Cleanliness is ok but bathroom in see view room (without balcony) need urgent renew. Stuffs are friendly and helpful. Breakfast serves semi buffet but good quality and sufficient. I will come back here for sure.

Only 10min walk to night markets. The hotel is next to the park with nice view of the river/sea gate. Room is clean, old style furnitures.
Something to consider:
- no elevator (but low stairway)
- in room: no slippers, no complimentary water
- in bathroom: quite small, slippery if wet floor

No windows open very poor ventilation just a rented room
Dan Ward — Google review
Room smelled, there is no sea view from the rooms, to be fair there is no view at all from the rooms. Cockroaches in the bathrooms and ceilings falling apart. There's no staff at night at the reception so when I locked myself from the room at night there was nobody to open the door, and no phone number to call. At least it was very cheap.
Leal lil — Google review
We choose this place because is near the pier (about 800m). If you don't want to be underground without the window, don't choose the cheapest room. It was really dark and small. But maybe for one night with low budget can be ok. Up the roof is small place where the breakfast is served and from here is very nice view.
Ladislav Kocián — Google review
Please don't go there. First of all it's way too expensive for what you get. The only good thing about this place is the short distance to the nightmarket an the nice receptionist. The first room we had had such a dirty shower and toilet. And the room was smelling like mold. So we got another room with at last a somewhat cleaner bathroom but still you didn't want to touch the shower. It was still smelling like mold and we foud some mold on the bedsheed. We endet up sleeping with a plastic sheet over the bed because we spend way too much on this hotel.

A truly budget hotel but with great river views. Quiet position, located in Krabi Town on the riverside. 5 minute walk to shops, restaurants, street food and coffee shops. Hotel really needs some TLC but OK for the money. Rooms spacious and clean but basic. Bathroom also large but in need of some decoration! No safe in room. Top floor rooms (5th floor) have best views. You will need to book a 'deluxe' room as this appears to be their 'best'. Breakfast very basic with no Thai option. Served on the 5th floor open balcony which is nice. Very friendly staff. River Pier just 5 minute walk for access to Long-tail boats and ferries to all of the islands.
Neil Thompson — Google review
Stayed during low season - great river location with nice rooftop and garden terraces. Room was a bit small but clean and the host is so helpful and accommodating. Near night food market. Love the river walk-perfect for a run!

KYN Phoenix Muay Thai Gym is a fantastic place to immerse yourself in the world of Muay Thai. The experienced trainers offer top-notch instruction for all levels, making training both fun and enjoyable. The gym's location adds to the experience, with stunning sunsets and a pool to cool off in after a rigorous session. It's not just a gym; it also features a bar, restaurant, and even rooms for rent.
Very nice gym, amazingly located just on the sunset sea side. Very good trainers involved to share their skills. And a nice swimming pool to refresh after a hard training ;-)
Cyrus Cornut — Google review
An incredible experience to be able to stay and train at KYN. Experienced trainers and an amazing place learn Muay Thai. The coaches all have a lot of experience and it shows with their instruction when teaching various techniques. They're also great at coaching different levels of experience and making the train fun and enjoyable.
The location is also a massive highlight, nothing quite like finishing a hard training session and then cooling off in the pool as the sun sets in the background.
Awesome place to meet other travellers who have similar interests in martial arts. Having meals and conversation with everyone you just trained with is something you don't get at many other gyms and really adds to the experience.
Can't wait to go back!

Fantastic place, 100% recommend for all kinds of people from fight prep to weight loss & beginners!
Incredible location, crazy sunsets while Training right on the water and great trainers! The island is super calm and relaxed. No distractions from training but just enough places to have a beer so that it doesn’t get boring!
Lion Felix — Google review
I was a complete beginner when arriving into camp and didn’t really know what to expect. Safe to say I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The trainers are absolutely brilliant and ensure everyone gets focus and development- which was helpful as a new starter. The sessions are varied and always a good laugh which means they go really quickly. There are two sessions a day and I really liked there is no pressure on how many you do - one or two - or even none if you wanted a rest day. When not training the pool is lovely and relaxing. There’s a community feel at the gym and we regularly went to lunch at the local restaurants on the island. The breakfast and dinner at the gym are also good quality. I stayed for 4 weeks and noticed a big difference in my fitness - I’ll be back for longer next time!

Beautiful setting and high level training. Learnt so much just in a week. Coaches were amazing and so were the hosts. Definitely a highlight from my muay Thai journey in Thailand. I never go back to a place but I think I will to this one. See you soon. Thank you.

Absolutely loved my 3 week stay at KYN. Already planning the next trip, but must make it longer next time. The whole atmosphere, setting and training sessions were exceptionally fun. Thanks to everyone who makes it possible, see you next time!
Donny McFarlane — Google review
I had the lucky honor to train at KYN for two weeks and time just flew by. I really wish I could have stayed longer. Training twice a day with people across the globe and trainers dedicated to each student was like no other experience I ever had at a gym. I have learned so much and made incredible bonds while training. And after good morning training session the pool was always welcoming and after the evening session the sunset always left me speechless by its beauty. Out of all the muy thai gyms I am glad I chose one that really focuses on technique and discipline. I feel a’lot stronger, confident and filled with clarity. Thank you KYN out of all the muy thai gyms out there in Thailand I am happy I found you. Till next time 🥊

This place is absolutely awesome. Spent over a week there in early Feb 2024. Stayed in the AC rooms and trained everyday. The rooms are great, the included menu is extensive and the food tastes amazing. The trainers are all super knowledgeable and run well structured and challenging classes, adjusting well for beginners through to advanced. The views are amazing and the island itself is beautiful. Great location, close to supermarkets, massage parlours and just a short scooter ride to the main places to see on KYN. Overall we had an unforgettable stay and will definitely be back.

My favourite place in the world! So happy to come back for a second visit to KYN Phoenix Gym. Not only is the level of training top class but the food, facilities and the general friendly island atmosphere make this the perfect place to get in great shape, learn Muay Thai and have a fantastic holiday experience all in one!
Thank you again to all the trainers and the team for making me feel so welcome as always. Hope to see you again next year to punch out those January blues! 🥊
Tom Chapman — Google review
I had a great time during my stay. The atmosphere is really welcoming and social, so I had no problem connecting as a solo traveller. Food is good and staff is really fun and friendly.
I ended up switching from group to private classes and enjoyed them (they are also reasonably priced). Trainers are super fun and respectful!
If I had to pick one thing to do better it would be that I had hoped the private classes to be a bit more technical instead of fitness focused (but that depends on trainer aswell)

My favorite hangout spot in all of Yao Noi!
Don't let the name fool you, one part is a gym (weights, training, bags and a boxing ring), the other part is a bar, another a restaurant, a pool, and they even have rooms for rent.
They have live music nights, and anyone who wants to join is welcome, even if you only want to grab a shaker. Otherwise, it's also nice to just sit and hear real music and instruments. 🎶 It's truly heaps of fun (I wish I could upload a video of their music infused with humor). If you aren't careful, you'll end up befriending their bar manager and laugh yourself into a full set of abs 😂
Their gym is accessible to everyone, and they offer both group, and personal muay thai classes. It also has a separate section for weights and a few machines. The boxing ring is on the opposite side of the gym, and there are boxing bags for those who prefer to train alone.
There is so much to say about this place, (including a perfect view of the sunset), but all in all the entire vibe of the place and the people is what makes it so amazing!
PS- check out their game nights, quiz nights, BBQ Sundays, live music Saturdays, pool/billiard nights, and all the other fun things they come up with!
I love the entire island, but for the past 2 months, this place has been my go-to ❤️

This has been the best experience of my life. I came to train Miay Thai and took my kids, and they trained Muay Thai and loved it. Everyone is so nice and caring. We have never felt so safe just letting the kids run around the entire complex. Everyone should visit here even if you don't train. I will be back on a regular basis.

I have spent four weeks at KYN with great pleasure. The trainers are skilled and serious. At the same time that they have fun with us and with each other. The coaches were really good at welcoming everyone, regardless of level. I felt well received as a beginner, and they quickly intensified my training. The trainers also take great care of the participants, and I have been asked countless times "are you okay?". I got a lot out of the training, just as I got a lot out of the stay in general.
I was very excited about the entirety of the camp, which contained both two daily training sessions, something social around the two included meals and an okay room. I loved sitting on my balcony looking out over the water and the camp.
People are friendly. Both Harry, Lisa and Matt were good at welcoming me. And especially Tik, our matron, was good at including us. At the same time, they cook really good food in the kitchen. Tasty and with a large selection.
On day two I rented a scooter which broadened my horizons on the island. I loved taking a trip into "town" or out to one of the small, local restaurants.
For me, the trip was a life project, and before I left, I had no plans to repeat a similar trip. However, KYN has made me want to come back, just as my stay has made me want to continue Muay Thai here in Denmark.
Thank you for a good stay, which more than lived up to my high expectations
Flemming D. — Google review
Amazing place I dont think I could of picked a more perfect location. Staff are so welcoming you have a family feel from the get go, such a warming atmosphere by everyone. The training instructors have a vast knowledge for all aspects of Muai thai and levels of training, I was a beginner myself with no knowledge whatsoever, they took the time out to help me build technique and the basics nothing was too much to ask for them, can't thank enough for the patience throughout my stay. Will be sad to go, I will definitely be returning in the near future. KYN until next time, it's been a pleasure 🙏🏽

Island Yoga Thailand is a popular studio that offers yoga classes, meditation, and extended retreat stays. Visitors have praised the value for money, laid-back vibe, lovely staff, and delicious food. The location is easily accessible from Phuket Airport and provides a calm getaway after a hectic period. While some minor reopening challenges were noted, overall experiences have been positive with guests extending their trips due to the inspiring atmosphere and open community. However, some feedback mentioned crowded yoga classes as a downside.
My favourite place in Thailand. My sister and I have been here 3 times now since 2017, and it has never disappointed. I can't wait to go back again. Beautiful site on a small unspoiled island. Great yoga sessions twice a day, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We love it!

Thought I would write a quick review, since I was a bit hesitant to book a week here, not knowing what it was like post COVID. well long story short: it was great! so great I ended up extending my trip to 10 days. I rated it 4 out of 5 because: 1. I dont trust places that only have 5s, and 2. there are some minor reopening challenges the place is working thru, but what business isn't?
my ratings:
value: amazing. you get so much for your money: good lodging, breakfast, three classes a day, bikes, kayaks...
accommodations: great. i got a bungalow with AC, basic but all good.
food: pretty good. same basic breakfast everyday. more options for midday snaking would be nice.
tai chi: amazing. wake up at 5:30 and do it, you can beat it.
yoga: very good: beginner/intermediate level, lots of focus on breathwork and mobility, not as much on technical adjustments, but if you talk to Marcello, he'll take you thru a legit Ashtanga practice.
getting there: super easy. I was concerned about this but it was seamless.
other things: the resort is right down the beach from 6 senses, so you are getting the same view for a fraction of the cost. I was a bit worried about being bored, but the island has tons of great cafes and restaurants to checkout, and the hotel arranged two boat trips for me to go out diving/exploring. Other folks went rock-climbing or did their digital nomad gigs during the day. So, there is plenty to do, and if you do all the classes that's 5 hours of your day right there.
super glad I did it: I'm leaving feeling so much better than I went in, and that's the whole point, right?

Absolutely loved Island Yoga. Everyone is so lovely and welcoming. Receptionists were so nice, I directly felt at home. Food was really good, I enjoyed the long extended breakfasts in the yogi cafe. Yoga and meditation lessons were both relaxing and challenging, good for all levels as the teachers always try that everyone enjoys the class. Different Yoga instructors to learn from. Yoga cats are lovely too.
100% recommendation. I will be back.
Lisa Spiller — Google review
Two days here and I will not come back:
Rooms are not clean and lack any decorations to make you feel at home.
The beach is not nice and is very dirty.
The pool is small and dirty.
Teachers are always different, and not all are professionals.
Staff is on duty from 10 a.m. and off at 4 p.m. If anything happens, you need to solve the problem by yourself or wait the day later.
Breakfast is basic.
Community dinner didn't happen as the staff chose to fight with each other and cancelled it for no reason.
There are many other yoga studios in Phuket that deserve much more than this island yoga studio, which is cheaper and has more options around.
You can simply book another resort on the island with a cheaper price and drop in for the yoga classes if they have, as many times they have canceled without any notification.
They provide massage, but it is simple and inside a small room; I would not recommend it at all.
Travel Gram — Google review
Very relaxing place on a quiet beach. You will be in good hands with Marcelo, yoga teacher, David for the climb and Ning’s family for the resort.
Do not miss the 8am yoga class but if you want a wake up session, it can be arranged at 6am on the beach!

My partner and I came to Island Yoga for a 4 day retreat and ended up staying 3 weeks. This experience is personally for me the greatest gift to myself. A true discovery of tool for personal improvement and serenity. I am a gym guy, but with island Yoga, Meditation and Yoga will now forever (hopefully be in my regular practice. The Teachers, and the whole staff quite frankly are nothing short of inspiring. Their kindness, professionalism and passion for what they do is inspiring. I will definitely come back, hopefully soon enough, and I will take my brother with me. So that he may discover what I have lived.

Experience of a lifetime🫶🏻💫wonderful location, the best staff and cozy bungalows. Spent 1 week there and couldn‘t have asked for more. Yoga, meditation, Tai Chi by the sunrise and amazing food. It‘s the perfect place if you need to recharge and reconnect with yourself. Can‘t wait to be back one day!
Rahel “RahelNatascha” Natascha — Google review
I had a wonderful and quiet stay. It was a very nice environment, people were kind and open, the yoga classes and teachers were very good and breakfast was excellent. I would definitely go again and recommed it. Very good value for money.
I am not giving 5 stars just because 1. the bathrooms in the dorm could have been cleaned better/more frequently, 2. the taxi to go to the airport booked by the reception didn't pick me up as expected at the pier. Despite these two elements, it was amazing. An environment with very positive vibes. Thank you to the local team <3
Advice: get a room with A/C. Hottest periods like April are unbearable.

The most welcoming and warmest place I've ever been. Staff was extremely kind and helpful. The yoga teachers were truly professionals and made my 6 days visit very comfortable even though I'm a beginner in yoga. Teachers gave different kind of variations to do with poses.
The whole place was like magic. Peaceful and amazingly beautiful island and the whole atmosphere at Island Yoga was all about kindness, compassion and good vibes. This truly was a place to feel safe, peaceful and good about yourself and everybody and everything around you. 🙌

This place has become my spiritual home and one of the most special places I’ve been too in the whole world. I visited for the first time in 2016 and have since come back regularly. It is here that I discovered yoga and have gone into training as a teacher myself. The views, the sunrise every morning, the yoga classes, and most importantly ***the people***, are beyond what a review could make justice.
It is truly a hidden gem away from the busy tourist trails, offering a true experience of Thai culture and kindness.

Absolutely loved my week at Island Yoga. The Tai Chi, Yoga and Meditation classes were excellent, all the teachers are very highly experienced and knowledgeable and the community was so fun and lovely.
The staff were wonderful, so helpful and kind. The beach is beautiful and location is great, easy walk, cycle or drive to some lovely restaurants and cafes.
I would highly recommend and am already planning my next trip back.

Island Yoga is a beautiful calm peaceful place with cute little bungalows. We really enjoyed our days there and loved the mantra meditation and yoga in the morning. The sunrise tai chi was beautiful aswell. The staff is super friendly and this is the perfect place to calm down and fully relax.

I really loved my stay at the retreat! The staff is so lovely, it has a big family vibe. The location and the yoga teacher are also very nice. Only downside is its too many people in the yoga class so you don't really have enough space to move. Except that you get something really lovely and calm, it's a good getaway after a hectic period! Food was also great, loved the buffet for breakfast!

Must go-to yoga center and cafe on the Island. Food always fresh healthy - my favorite being the breakfast style buffet. My training loved walking here every morning to eat together after practice. Really chill ambiance, cozy clean and comfy. 💕💕💕💕💛💛💛
Can’t forget their yoga cats and special yoga Shalas plus the way the flowers and garden are kept.
Has a very warm place in my heart ☺️

A hidden gem and perfect if you like it calm and natural. Layed back vibe, everything works, lovely staff, best fresh fruits (yummy food in general), inspiring and open people that are easy to connect with. I stayed for 8 nights which was perfect, but also 6-10 is great to immerse. I would have loved some more spiritual deep dive, but it was a good and inspiring level. It's super easy to get here; it took me only a bit more than 1h from Phuket Airport. Thank you! I already miss you. Sending love

Just finished the 10 day sadhana here at the gorgeous Island Yoga. What a fantastic way to start the new year! The location is fantastic and the bungalows are spacious, comfortable and clean. But the best thing is the people. The yoga teachers are all outstanding and are so full of love and teachings. I have improved my practice more in the last ten days then I have at any other retreat. All of the retreat staff from reception to the cafe are so kind and friendly. Coming as a solo traveller was perfect as the cafe is a great way to meet people and the food is yummy. Would 100% recommend a life-changing stay here.

Loved my 6 nights at Island Yoga! As an inflexible yoga rookie, I was hesitant at first about the retreat, but Im so glad I did it, met lots of great people who were all very welcoming, staff were great and loved the yoga sessions, food and activities available. Great island also, nice and relaxed but also cafes and restaurants available.
Highly recommend this retreat!

I firs visited Island Yoga as a guest at the beginning of February 2024. On that occasion, I booked a 10-night yoga vacation, which proved to be the ideal time to settle in and deepen my yoga practice and meditation considerably, as well as to relax and let go. I really enjoyed the location: Koh Yao Noi - a small, un-touristy island in Thailand where one can enjoy slow time, peace and contact with nature that infuse new and positive energy. I was also particularly impressed by the quality of the connections and sharing with the traveller community, the yoga classes and the exchange with the staff (including the lovely yogi cats). In short... I liked it so much that after two months of solo travel adventures in South East Asia I wanted to return to Island Yoga and applied for a volunteer work position. Thus, I spent the month of April working as an assistant cook/chef at Island Yoga's café & restaurant. Besides pushing me out of my comfort zone, this volunteering experience allowed me to deepen and nourish my yoga practice, as well as to connect and share a special lifestyle and service with many like-minded individuals within the yoga community. Overall, my stay at Island Yoga and Koh Yao Noi island was deeply enriching and inspiring - I definitely recommend it and I will certainly visit again!

The service at this place deserves 10 stars. The staff is so kind. It was my 3the time here and really recommend this place if you love yoga, community, great breakfast and a quiet island. It's amazing how you can allways find nice people here. I love the thai-chi with a great view. David is even after many years still excited about teaching which is admirable. I love the group meditation and the yoga. And let's not forget the great carrot cake. I recommend staying for a longer periode so you get really in to calming your mind and opening your heart. Thank you so much!! So much gratitude!!

We loved staying here. Such a beautiful spot and a great vibe. The most chilled place ever. We stayed in a private bungalow with AC and it was lovely and cool and bed was comfy. Shower was great. Lovely hammock to chill in on the veranda. We loved it because it was cosy and beautiful and relaxed. Not luxurious or low budget kitch. Just nicely perfectly imperfect attracting the type of people we love to be around. Openminded and super friendly. You can choose to join in a lot or you can choose to be more private. Everything goes here. We liked it a lot also because it was very diverse when it came to age, sex and heritage. Staff was ever so welcoming and lovely. We would love to come back.

This island, popularly known as "James Bond Island," provides visitors with the opportunity to shop, swim and explore caves that are visible at low tide. The island features two rock mountains that lay on top of each other, creating a picturesque angle for photography. Additionally, the surface of these rocks boast a unique texture which adds to its allure. This is the same location featured in James Bond movies. A small cave is also situated on this island offering a similar experience as seen in pictures.
The James Bond Island or Khao Phing Kan island was a really nice place to visit. Along with the James Bond rock in the middle of the sea, the island also has a leaning limestone rock which is a great photo spot. We also went inside the cave nearby and the view of the ocean through the cave windows. It is a must place to visit.

nice place to visit, but try to go there as early as possible because it might get really crowded.
I personally enjoyed the caves and the nature of the island.
I also suggest that if you have a plan to visit phi phi islands on your trip, it is better to first visit James bond and then phi phi island.

The island is very impressive, such a nice creation of nature. However, the beach around it could be improved.
If looking for a great picture, on the left side if the beach, there are some stairs to a better view point of the island. Take a shot from there.
Overall, great place to visit.

I must say that when we went here there were reviews that experience was underwhelming for few people but I politely disagree. The structure is the middle of the water looks amazing and looked so much better than what we saw in the movie
There are ample photo opportunities and you want to be careful while swimming in muddy water because of sea shells.
Must visit

James Bond island as it is known was a really tranquil experience. The views from the island really make you feel like you are in paradise. There are some toilets on the island, but don't expect them to be hotel quality.
There are also some shops on the island for souvenirs and refreshments, but you can expect to pay a premium for the convenience, so make sure you take enough refreshments with you.

Beautiful place! Must see in Thailand!
Can visit on a day trip with a speed boat or a cruising boat.
The tour operator give u not much time to stay there. Between 30-45min
Because many people want to visit the small island.
Phang Nga Bay is a picturesque waterway that offers kayak tours and boat excursions. It boasts stunning views of the nearby cliffs, caves and rock formations that make for an unforgettable experience. If you're planning to visit, be sure to book with a reliable operator to fully enjoy its wonders. The bay's most famous attraction is James Bond Island which can be reached by taking a cool boat ride out to the island.
One of the most beautiful national parks we have visited. This National part is part of the southern of Thailand. It’s famous for James Bond Islamd, it’s amazing caves, limestones and green clean water. We reserved a kayak tour and it was amazing. We went around the island and saw many beautiful caves and rock formations. You have to try this at least once on life.

Absolutely gorgeous, yet not without problems. The beaches on the remote islands are full of trash. Rangers patrol, but they seem most interested in collecting the national park fee. I don't know if they ever pick up trash. Most of the plastic waste looks like it comes from fishermen judging by the composition: styrofoam, fishing net, energy drink bottles, etc. Jet skis are illegal in the bay, but they seem common. Certain parts of the bay can get really noisy and crowded, but it's easy to avoid those places unless you sign up with a mass tourism company to go on a tour. Avoid James Bond Island, Koh Panyi, and Koh Hong if you don't want to be part of a crowd.
Koh Yao Noi is delightful! Basically, do some research and you can have a wonderful experience. The bay is very worth visiting.

A very surreal experience for a group of us cousins who visited the place a couple of weeks ago.
It was a part of the James Bond island package tour. The views en-route were mesmerising.
We had a beautiful experience on the canoe at the phang nga bay. The canoe operators are smooth talkers - well trained to highlight the beauty of the place and also know how to charm you 😊
We had a great time. We were awestruck by the views surrounding us. The beautiful rock formations and the greens sprouting out of the rocks.

Take a long boat ride around the bay. Stop at the Koh Panyee village on the water.
Pass through the waterways under the rocks.
See "The Jumping Tiger" on one of the islands.
Pass by the famous James Bond Island featured in The Man with The Golden Gun 1974 movie.
Multiple photo opportunities. I suggest a camera with good lenses over a phone.
The boat catches lots of sprinkles at high speed so be careful with your camera and phone.

Beautiful bay, with the most famous being James Bond Island.
Stunning boat ride out to the island. Cool little spot to take pictures and see the iconic island that was made famous by James Bond movie (the man with golden gun). A little touristy.
You have to pay a fee to land on the island and your around.
We did this as a tour and part of the package included a kayak experience (guided, no work on your part) at Hong island.

We were approached by agents from travel agency while waiting to board to Phuket from Bangkok Don Muang airport (DMK). We bought the day trip to Phang Nga specially hearing the James bond island where shooting of James Bond movie the guy with Golden Gun took place. A mini van took us from hotel at Patong to north easter port & we boarded a speed boat in group. Water was not blue but we were thrilled to see vast mangrove trees & hills over sea. Experience on lime stone sea cave & James Bond Island was unforgettable. A must visit place while in Thailand.

Phang Nga Bay is a must-visit in Thailand, showcasing stunning limestone mountains rising from the sea. James Bond Island is just one gem here. The boat tours through caves and tunnels are impressive. Staying a night in Phang Nga enhances the experience💞👌🏽

Here, you will find more activities on the island with boating cannoying and discover new places, and there are lots of islands that you can visit canyoning and boating.
Phang Nga Bay lies between southern Thailand's mainland and Phuket Island. Also known as Ao Phang Nga National Park, it's characterized by limestone cliffs and rock formations, as well as mangrove forests and small islands. Among the islands are Koh Tapu, known as James Bond Island for its appearance in a Bond film.

This was a bucket blister. James Bond Island has been a place I wanted to visit since I discovered it. Now I have!
Gorgeous and not so overly packed. Touristy, but not horrendous.
Did a bit of snorkeling here for my first time, someone who suffers from thalassophobia, glad I got myself to do it.
Definitely worth it.

Phang Nga Bay is a wonderful place to spend the day. Like some other reviewers have said, it isn't without issues, but the natural beauty outshines these negatives. We took a short, spontaneous tour from Ban Khlong Khian Pier to James Bond Island. Just a reminder, keep cash on hand. We weren't planning on this trip and spent all of our cash on the boat ride, so we could not tour the island itself (yes, there's a fee).

Take a long-tailed boat tour to explore very beautiful limestone mountains & small caves in green open bay with mangrove forests along the way.Very relaxed & refreshing trip.
Koh Panyi is a unique floating village with a captivating history. The community, built by Javanese immigrants due to land ownership laws, features colorful homes and offers an authentic look into local fishing life. While the village is Muslim and lacks alcohol-serving shops, it boasts delicious homemade food and a buffet halal restaurant. Visitors can explore the stunning limestone views and observe the villagers' livelihood of fishing. However, swimming is not recommended due to direct sewage disposal into the water.
Cute little gem of an island. A good lunch spot for a day trip to explore the islands and attractions around here. Very nice people, good coffee spot, very clean and tidy every corner of the island, which was very impressive. The island could be a very good example for other tourists attractions in Thailand on waste management.

This floating fishing village was a beautiful addition to our day long trip around James Bond Island and Koh Talu. This village, Koh Panyi offers fish market and has a population of fishermen and their family. We had traditional Thai lunch at this place along with chimney soup. This village also has a mosque as the majority of population are Muslim. It was a great spot for tourists and we had a great experience.

It is the first of a kind floating village which I have ever visited in all my experiences. A beautiful local fishing community residing in colorful homes, the story behind how this community came into existence is fascinating.
The inhabitants are immigrants of Javanese descent, who built the village in the sea because the Thai law back then allowed for native Thai people alone to purchase land in Thailand.
We visited this floating village as part of the James Bond island tour. We had a delicious lunch at their floating restaurant.
There are some stores with crafts, accessories- we couldn’t explore them much because of lack of time.
All in all, it is worth a visit.

We went to Koh Panyi floating Muslim villages on a James Bond Island day trip to Phang Nga Bay. It was the third spot where we got fresh and had lunch. There was a spacious buffet halal restaurant, and the food tasted good. But after lunch, we got very little time to explore the village, and the tour company didn't guide us about the notable things around the village. The local community has a livelihood by fishing. The village has amazing views of limestone.

The existence of this floating village in Phang Nga Bay makes it even more attractive from a tourist point of view.
Visiting this community of Muslims who live in this floating village was a beautiful and interesting experience.
There are shops, with pearl jewellery, clothes and souvenirs so it’s better to have some money. If you negotiate you’ll get a better price.

Nice local fishing village on an island off the coast of the phang nga bay.
It's hard to find boats to get here so can be pricey, we stayed at a nearby hotel, and the hotel offered to take us there part of a 4 hour long tail boat trip for only 1500 baht. so that was very good. it's a very local, dirty, run down place. but nice for the experience and definitely for photos at sunrise golden hour.
Don't expect much, it is no clean city, it's a local muslim village.

We were taken by speed boat to sea Gypsy village in Phang Nga for lunch. It started raining but still we enjoyed the sight of the village floating on the sea. Almost all work was done with wooden plank. People looked friendly. Free lunch given by travel agency was not bad. We had chosen chicken & rice. Fried chicken drumsticks were good. Finally, we bought rain coat in a shop at village & left.
Rajendra Sanjelchhetri — Google review
Beautiful and authentic village on the water. But it's a little bit boring because the village is completely muslim and there are no shops with alcohol (cold beer is a must in such a high temperature) and the sewage is going directly to the water. So I don't recommend swimming (there is no beach or pool on the island). The food is two times more expensive than on the continent. All the restaurants are closed at 19:00. But you can try to find homemade food at houses.

Klong Muang Beach, situated north of Ao Nang Beach in Krabi, is a serene coastal retreat perfect for those seeking tranquility. It offers easy access to the stunning Koh Hong island. The wide sandy expanse provides ample space for leisure activities such as sunbathing, swimming, and snorkeling. Visitors can also enjoy the shade of palm trees or indulge in a picturesque beachfront picnic.
Peaceful beach compared to crowded Aonuang beach ⛱️. Easy for kids 👍also to have fun in water as slope is very light. Very few shops are here selling juice, shakes etc. If you are done with all the crowded places in Krabi, suggest to visit this place to enjoy some time in peace. A bit far from other places, try to use Grab app for taxi booking as they offer cabs at half of the price what on the spot booking people will ask for 🤩❤️😀.

There are a few accommodations along this nice beach Including Dusit Thani.
Beach in front of Dusit Thani seems clean but the area next to it is so dirty which is a shame.
Hope to see people look after the cleanliness of their beaches and sea creatures better.

Gorgeous, quiet beach with lovely sand. Beautiful view, look at the photos! Sea was lovely, quite clean, at high tide so was great to swim in. There were a few trees along the shoreline but these were taken up by others, so had to go without shade. It was very, very hot!
Accessible ramp down onto the main beach (mainly used for cars and motor vehicles) but it was great access for us as a wheelchair user. We have an additional third front wheel to avoid the castors and managed to get about 30m from the ramp.

As you can see from the video and photos, this is the centre of a long beach called Klong Muang.
Which is also the name of the district. The name translates as purple canal.
You get waves when the weather is rough but it normally pretty calm.
In the afternoon, folks come to watch the sunset.

I rent a motorcycle from aonang beach to klong muang beach. it takes less than 30minutes.
The beach is super clean. U can walk without footwear as the sand is soft and white.
There are local vendors selling thai food and drinks. Also, u can get a massage by the beach here.
It isn't crowded as i arrived at around 9.30am. But u can expect to see some tourists swimming on the beach or strolling around with their families.
The hotel here are mainly the 5star beach resorts.

This is a beach further away from Ao Nang Beach, and you will need to drive. I was at the Reua Thong Restaurant and bar, taking the attached photos. It is a lot less busy than Ao Nang Beach and Nopparat Beach.
There are 3 or 4 massage shops up on the street like the Number One Massage Shop (sorry can't remember the others).
There is easy parking along the street (bonus), and several restaurants that are real good. The Boat Coffee, the Reua Thong is a great place to enjoy a beverage/meal and the beauty of the beach and further down the road opposite the Krabi Sands Resort is The Beach House Restaurant. Watch the sun go down there (and they have some decent wines), it is a really nice view of the sunset there.
So if you can arrange wheels to get there, it is my favourite beach.
Rob S — Google review
Beautiful beach, a little remote and away from crowds.
Good for a walk in the evening to enjoy the sunset.
The cleaning needs to be improved as there is a lot of driftwood as well as other items washed up on the sand.
There are plenty of resorts along the beach, place where one can seat and enjoy the views, volleyball court and some restaurants for refreshments and snacks.
When the tide is low, the rocks are exposed and might be not as comfortable for bathing, but I assume that during high tide the problem is not there.
Absolutely recommend you to visit this beach if you are looking to get a way from crowds and enjoy a pleasant walk and a gorgeous sunset.
Hope this helps 🙏

The Tham Suwan Kuha Temple in Phang Nga is a remarkable Buddhist temple situated within a vast natural cave on a limestone mountain in mainland Thailand. Aleenta Phuket resort aims to provide its guests with access to cultural and historical landmarks, including this hidden gem. The temple is relatively unknown to foreigners but popular among some tourists who are aware of its unique location.
This is a great place to visit. There is a small entrance fee but it's worth it. The Buddah sits in a cave and the size is impressive. There are lots of other shrines around.
Not to mention the monkeys on arrival. There are street vendors selling bananas and sweetcorn for the monkeys. Well worth a visit.

Very large cave, incredible atmosphere and scale of nature. I really liked this place. But there is one problem - the unpleasant smell of feces of bats.

Wat Suwan Kuha is a cave sheltering an immense reclining golden Buddha. The region is not only famous for incredible limestone cliffs plunging straight down into the sea but also for some unexpected jewels. The original temple is home to an impressive fifteen meter long golden reclining Buddha and several other standing Buddha images. Be aware of monkeys. At the cave entrance, there is a stupa. At the end of the cave, a fly of wide stairs opens to the forest outside and from there to smaller but less interesting caves. It serves as a place of worship for local Buddhists and also as a tourist destination. At the Wat Suwan Kuha temple cave entrance, there is a wide area with plenty of stalls where you can buy food items.

WAT SUWAN KUHA TEMPLE IN PHANG NGA
is the ideal escape for the cosmopolitan traveler seeking the best of Phuket's exquisite natural beauty, stylish and thoughtful accommodations, and cultural charm. Indeed, Aleenta Phuket strives to connect its guests with fascinating regional cultural and historic sites. With this mission in mind, the resort offers convenient transport to the Tham Suwan Kuha Temple, a unique and extraordinary Buddhist temple located inside of a large natural cavern set into a limestone mountain on the Thai mainland. Though some in-the-know tourists to the Phang Nga region are keen to the temple, it's an gem unknown to most foreigners.

We stopped here on our day trip to James Bond Island. There was beautiful and the statue was marvelous and was glowing. The caves are massive and you can also climb inside dark caves carefully. There are also some photo opportunities inside the caves where they have some lighting.
There is also an opportunity to feed the money and pegions. You can buy those stuff outside the temple premise. Also they request you to dress decently else you have to rent cloth for covering for 20 THB.
Aman Kesarwani — Google review
A beautiful Buddha temple inside a natural cave. The structure is huge and you can also see some sea shells on the walls.
The temple requires to pay a small entrance fee which is worth the money.
There are some monkeys present in the area, so be careful to not carry any food that you do not want to feed them, also don’t touch the monkeys, they can get mean to you.
There are street vendors selling some monkey food outside which might be fun feeding to the monkeys.
Overall a great and beautiful Buddha temple.

This temple is a hidden gem! It is a mesmerizing fusion of natural wonder and cultural heritage and is most famous for its 15m long Golden Reclining Buddha and its playful macaque monkeys. There are vendors at the parking area selling drinks, snacks and food for the monkeys and pigeons.
Inside you will find a large cavern with the Golden Reclining Buddha, several other Buddha images and a big Chedi. The whole place is also decorated with numerous religious items as well as the monogram of the King and several royal families.
Make sure you venture to the large cave at the back and explore the smaller caves around the outside. Entry is THB20 and make sure you dress respectfully.
Sunny Travel Explorers — Google review
Remember not to park your vehicle too near the cave entrance as there are plenty of monkeys around this area that are often seen pulling car wipers, antennas or whatever they could get their hands on. A large decorated gate at the foot of the cliff gives way to a cavern with lofty ceilings, about twenty meters wide and forty meters long. This natural temple houses an impressive 15 m long golden statue of reclining Buddha (the temple’s center of attraction) in addition to many other large images of standing Buddha. The entire space at Wat Tham Suwan Khuha is embellished with plenty of religious items. You might see a monk meditating before the reclining Buddha surrounded by a few cats taking a nap. At the cave’s entrance, you’ll see a Chedi structure which is reminiscent of the famous Wat Arun (temple of dawn) in Bangkok. A set of stairs near the reclining Buddha will lead you up to another grotto housing another golden stupa. The wide staircase at the end of the cave will give you access to the forest outside and eventually to some more small but interesting caves. Apart from the notorious monkeys, Wat Tham Suwan Khuha is a wonderful place to visit.

Hat Noppharat Thara, situated near Ao Nang, provides a balance of serenity and activity. Accessible from the coastal road, it features numerous bars, eateries, and shops. The western section offers a quieter atmosphere. The expansive and clean beach is ideal for leisurely strolls along the shaded walkway. A gorgeous beach for sunset strolls and one you can find the locals playing in the water with their families. The sand is primed for sunbathing and the water is great. It’s a semi commercial area where there are many known restaurants, shopping stalls and a night market where locals and tourist hang out seaside until the wee hours of the night. The levels are pretty straight so it’s safe for families with adult supervision. I can’t wait to visit this beach again in the near future.

If you go, choose the northern part of the beach, which is the only part that is not really developed. Here you have some nice trees where people relax in hammocks in the shade. The sea is relatively calm and can be VERY warm. There are no beach restaurants here. All the restaurants are set back next to the road.
If you go all the way to the northern end it gets noisy due to the ships and ferries which leave from the pier.
The southern 3/4 are very narrow and limited by a stone wall next to the street.

A long beach in the Krabi area, that is very popular. If swimming or bathing, it is very safe because of the shallowness. This means it can take a lot of walking to get to enough water to swim in.
If you just want to do some walking by a beach, 'Hat Noppharat Thara' has some good shaded pathways running its length.

Very beautiful.
Bit overcrowded & over-expensive / But everyone is very nice.
The eastern side with cheaper accommodation doesn’t have a great beach, is kind of dirty with trash & has giant jellyfish.
Phra Nang beach, a 20 min walk is very pretty.
Everything is walkable - there’s no roads, it’s just a path from one end to the other. Many restaurants - selling from healthy food, coffee, weed & mushrooms (be aware there’s a lot on the island!), bars & resorts.
100 (x2) baht trail boat from Ao Nang (ask for return ticket also) - if not you can just pay the guy when you leave.
Beware of monkeys! They will steal your food and aren’t afraid to do it.

Beautiful place but you have to block out the hoards of people and garbage piled up all over the beach and resort areas. The trash was really appalling. Really I’d give this place 3.5 stars.
Pros: we loved the lagoon hike and it’s definitely challenging! We enjoyed the epic sci-fi looking “floating” islands and swimming at the beach. I would have enjoyed rock climbing if I had time. Beautiful beach and wish we’d spent longer here! Definitely worth going for the sunsets and the music playing at the bars really fits the vibe! The only thing to be careful of are the men who take you on the boats as a group of us got ripped off. This is probably the most iconic beach in this part of Thailand. Easy and cheap to get to by boat and definitely well worth the visit.
The area is extensive and there are plenty of restaurants catering to all tastes and budgets.
I would highly recommend hiring kayaks and taking them out in the ocean to explore the nearby caves and stunning rock formations. There are also rock climbing opportunities on the island.

One of the best trips we did. A short boat ride from Ao Nang. Lots to do. Kayaking was wonderful. Lots to explore and many other activities to keep you happy.

One of my favorite places to visit when I’m in Krabi, Thailand. Such a beautiful secluded spot with two amazing beaches lined with limestone cliffs. Lots of rock climbing also available here as well but I just love the avatar like feel this place has.
Chris Ortega — Google review
Beautiful place but be careful with mafia type agencies, selling all included private transport then when off the beach and in Krabi they put you on shared minibuses! Having being caught out our family of 5 paid a lot of money to find shared transport which took over double the time. Get your receipt written in English not Thai!

Nice beach, very touristy though. The beach was clean. If you want to swim with less people in the water, go in the morning.

A nice lagoon to relax. Thaiwand wall is worth hiking for the views. Great climbs there too!

It might be usually crowded but it's quite long, so you can find spots with shade -and of course to swim. Water is really nice (unlike Aonang) and the view is stunning.
Aris Pull — Google review
Among so many beaches this one is the beautiful we found. Less crowded and water is super clean. Must visit.

Peace, calm and open to swim.
Best time is to go there is sunset. You can book resort and stay for overnight, otherwise you can take private boats and visit there.
Dhiral Kaniya — Google review
Second time going to this beach, first time being in 2015. Didn't change much, except more people going there, but still not too crowded. The beach there is really nice, water is clear and warm. You can reach Railay Beach by taking a tail boat from Ao Nang Beach. Recommended
Philippe Lefevre — Google review
Busy, noisy but visually it was beautiful.
It’s a must do visit for Krabi visitors and we went to see it (like everyone else). It looked very stunning as a photo opportunity because it is in a cove and has the high cliffs.
Railay beach felt more of a tourist resort (granted we were tourists) and less Thai authentic than some other areas we have visited.
I wouldn’t go back if I stayed in this area again.
Oli Watherston — Google review
Glad we made the decision to stay at a resort on this beach. The view is stunning, surrounded by amazing scenery. Mornings are especially beautiful with a tranquil atmosphere—no people or boats around. Even during the day and sunset, it wasn’t as crowded as we anticipated. The walking street is very, lined with numerous shops and restaurants. Hopefully, we’ll be back soon!

Beautiful as ever but be aware there is a jellyfish plague ongoing all over Krabi beaches. People do currently not swim. Even though we didn’t find any yet there are deadly boxed jellyfish around. Be extremely careful.

This is such a beautiful beach! Soaking the sun, enjoying sun bathing and rock climbing are the best! Please do not miss this place.
Ao Nang Beach is a bustling and popular destination in Krabi province, known for its scenic views of mountains and boats on the horizon. Once a fishing village, it now offers numerous restaurants, bars, and accommodations to suit every budget. The 1km-long stretch of soft sand is lined with colorful longtail boats and overlooked by famous limestone cliffs, making it an Instagram-worthy paradise. Visitors can enjoy activities such as rock climbing, kayaking, spa treatments, or simply relaxing in hammocks.
Very nice beach off the small town but still very close.
Richard Borgstr?m — Google review
The landscape is amazing but unfortunately there are roaring long boats all the time that keep going back and forth emitting very nasty smocks 💨
The water usually is nice and clean, very shallow and calm. Very good for sunset 🌅
I don't advise to go swimming that much since long boat risk to run over you 🥲 ... also not good for snorkelling 🤿
Matteo Maso — Google review
One can witness long tail boats over here. It may be difficult to swim in this beach which is not surrounded by long tail boats
Normally this is the place as the base for phi phi Island tours. Apart from that , one can see beautiful sunsets and fire shows held almost every day

The beach is nice. Although you do not have a lot of space to lie if it is high tide. The water is lovely and I love the waves. The beach is not soft sand but you still can walk with bare feet

Beautiful beach of Krabi nearer to the market and lots of hotels and resorts. The beach is long, very picturesque and one can spend a lot of time here with family. The waves are also good you can view lots of long tail boats around the place. Lots of people here on weekends and also during evening there is a fire show done by locals which was good to watch. Beautiful beach where you can take amazing pictures.

Aorang beach is a never sleep street in the morning and night. Full of boutique hotel, stalls, restaurant and massage centre. It is very convenient for tourist and a safe place to visit. The beach so clean and the sea water is very clear. Suggest not to come in February. Too hot.

Ao Nang beach is a picturesque paradise, boasting stunning views that captivate the soul. The vibrant market adds a lively touch, offering a delightful experience during the long evening walks by the beach. The combination of natural beauty and the bustling market creates an unforgettable atmosphere that truly defines the charm of Ao Nang.

The beach itself is beautiful, but there are too many boats that makes annoying sounds and make this beautiful beach very polluted. You can never enjoy the peace and calm environment here. The subset is beautiful 🤩

A nice beach to sit and enjoy the evening. The beach is long and clean. It's sandy beach. The sea is beautiful here. There are many shops and restaurants nearby. The sunset is very beautiful on this beach. This beach is not as heavily commercialized as some of the other beaches. Hence, a good place to spend a quiet evening!
Alok Adi — Google review
Nice, little bit more of a tourist location. for those who want a quiet secluded beach, as you can probably tell, Ao Nang is not the way to go. For a day trip though, great please to travel.

Great beach ⛱️ with awesome night market ❤️ at walking distance. At beach there is a free fire 🔥 show, you can tip as per your wish at the end of the show to the artists. Long boats 🚢 are available if you want a tour from here. Also there are several tours like 7 island tour etc. which you can book from beach side shops. Sea 🌊 shore is good for kids also as slope is very slow. Several restaurants with multiple cuisines like thai, mexican indian etc. are at walking distance. So many hotels are available nearby beacah itself. Cannabis shops are also at the beach side walkway if you want to go High 🤸.
Overall wonderful experience ✨️ 🥰😍🤩😘.

A perfect place to catch beautiful sunsets. The beach has a lot more around. You can also find a promenade near the beach where you can stroll around.
There are several shops and eateries on the street near the promenade.
There is a fire show in the evening at the beach which is very interesting and entertaining. I suggest to not miss seeing this show.
The area is always bustling with people around and is lively.

A very nice beach, with beautiful surroundings. But there are not so nice things too: the sewage water which in two places directly flows in the sea. For this reason I think it’s better to swim on Railay beach.

Ao Nang is simply stunning and it was even more so when we visited just around Christmas 2021. Hardly had any visitors/tourists and we pretty much had the entire beach to ourselves.
You can go to nearby beaches from here (Railay, Phra Nang etc) the sunsets at Ao Nang beach are one of the best we have witnessed.

Usually the beaches near to major towns are dirty but not this one. This one is very long beach with multiple entry points along the road. The extreme left part is the most beautiful. I enjoyed visiting specially late in the night and sit near the beach on the bench with a drink.
Aditya Kapoor — Google review
Its quite long beach and the main point for watching the sunset, walk, sit and relax, etc. It’s also where all taxi boats run from, so I don’t find the beach and the water clean enough. But the rock formations and the view to the other islands is beautiful.

Ao Nang Beach is a picturesque destination that has earned a solid 4-star rating from me.
The beach's scenic beauty is truly captivating, with its soft sands and crystal-clear waters creating a mesmerizing backdrop for visitors to enjoy. The cleanliness of the beach is commendable, making it a pleasant environment for all to relish.
While the beach is undoubtedly a popular spot, it can get quite busy, especially during peak times. This may not be the best choice for those seeking a quiet and secluded spot for relaxation and sunbathing. However, it's perfect for a quick dip or a leisurely walk along the shoreline with friends.
One of the highlights of Ao Nang Beach is its stunning sunsets, providing a magnificent view that is a must-see for any visitor. Additionally, the beach comes alive in the evenings with various activities and entertainment, making it an exciting spot to spend time with friends and loved ones.
In conclusion, Ao Nang Beach offers a scenic and lively experience, making it an ideal destination for a quick dip, leisurely strolls, and witnessing beautiful sunsets. While it may get busy, the beach's charm and vibrant atmosphere more than compensate for it, creating a memorable beach experience.
Hope this helps 🙏

Nice beach at Ao Nang. It's the main beach in town and the easiest accessible beach. It's also the beach from which you depart to Railay Beach. The vibe here is nice, especially during sunset! The sand was a bit rough though at where we sat and there are many boats parked in the middle of the beach.

This place is amazing! Great views, shops, massages, restaurants, coffee shops, souvenir shops, hotels all over along the road!
The beach is very long, so it is never crowded, the sand is fine and the water is clear. To be in better condition, maibe go away from the pier(very noisy).

Very pretty beach and offers a great sunset from the many bars and restaurants opposite. To the left of the beach (if facing the sea) the monkey trail was fun up the bamboo scaffold and will lead to another private beach tonsai beach
Kojin_Wolf — Google review
One of the worst beaches I have been to yet. The only good thing is the amazing view. The water is really dirty and it seems like the sewer ends in it directly (where the monkey trail starts). The sidewalk is full of trash that doesn’t seem to be picked up frequently.
Nice to walk on the shore at night tho.

5 levels to this waterfall as you progress up the trail, higher and higher. Only signs for the first 3 levels but you can see the trail continuing. The 5th level is amazing as it is very tall. It's fun to hike past level 1 cuz the trail gets narrow and is like a jungle walk as you go over vines, etc.
Since rainy season, the waterfalls were in full force with lots of water!
As for easy hike: it is except for two somewhat steep hills on the wide path. And path past level one starts going straight up and flattens here and there. Did not feel exhausting. Totally worth it for fun hike and to see level 5.
Was a rainy hike and leeches for sure!! Even found one on the back of my husband neck! I got leech socks at Decathlon, 250 baht, that I wore with shorts. They go over the knee and are bright colored so you see the leeches.
Extremely slippery on rocks even with hiking boots!!!
Only paid 100 baht entrance fee per person, end of June. Bathroom by waterfall has normal flushing toilet. Was pretty clean: no flying bugs, spiders, dead insects, etc. And toilet itself was clean.
Monica Nottke — Google review
Watch out for leeches! The rainforest and the waterfall are beautiful (5 stars), but there is a high risk to get a leech from the ground at least after a rainy day.

Railay Viewpoint Resort offers a tranquil retreat with its colorful rooms and pagoda-style bungalows. The resort features a pool, dive center, and dining facilities. Guests appreciate the clean and tidy rooms that are serviced daily, as well as the friendly staff and reasonable breakfast. Situated on the quieter side of Railay, it provides easy access to beautiful beaches.
Lovely stay here. Staff was nice, breakfast adequate. Good value for a slice of paradise. Nice to be on the quiet part of Railay. Yes, room was a bit funky and old, but you're in the middle of a tropical jungle. Good ac and super comfy bed

We came because the reviews and ratings were pretty good. We took a good room, not the cheapest! And photos looked great.
In short- really bad experience, worst place we've been to on our 3 weeks in Thailand.
- The staff not nice at all, when we asked for towels to take shower (after checkout) they didn't want to give us. In the end the gave us only one!
- The room wasn't like on the photos. They show the nice parts of the room, the rest is quite dirty and unmaintaned.
- Bugs and cockroaches in the room.
- Our room was close to a bar that have parties until 2am so some times it was annoying.

We had a great stay here except for one employee, Bam (I believe was her name was). She was rude throughout our whole stay, accused us of lying that her staff didn't bring us water, pretty much just made for an awkward and unfortunate experience. It is sad for the business because aside from the poor experience with her, it was a nice place otherwise.
Would recommend staying at another place to dodge this woman and her poor management.

The bungalow was very clean which was good, but the food at the restaurant was not that great, and we had stomach ache every day after breakfast (we think it probably was the ice in our coffee’s). The worst is that they (or someone near the resort) burns trash right above the bungalows so a very toxic smell overrun the place.
The place next door is also under construction so it was very very noisy all day (from 8 am to 8 pm).
Worst place we have stayed at during our vacation in Thailand.

Positive: Nice hotel staff, OK location (easy 10 minutes walk to the beach where you can swim and relax), pool area + pool OK as well.
Negative: Cockroaches everywhere in the room (bathroom and on the floor and walls in the bedroom). Old, smelly and a rather dirty room (we stayed in a bungalow so I don't know if it differs from room to room). We were supposed to stay one night more but had to checkout a day before and look for a new hotel.

Railay is a premium destination and options in the island are limited. I do not recommend staying at Railay viewpoint resort. Super overpriced for what it is - my room was incredibly dirty to the point I checked out early. Nothing felt clean. Several other resorts nearby at similar price point far nicer.

We ate at the restaurant after walking the strip looking for something new. We settled with this place but we should have known something was up. I ordered the garlic chicken and my husband ordered the Hamburger and now he has food poisoning. He said it tasted weird and couldn't even finish the rest of it. I would avoid eating here if I were you.

I like it here. Rooms are clean and tidy. Cleaned daily. Very friendly staff and a reasonable breakfast. I like that it's on the quieter side of Railay but you can easily walk to the beautiful beaches.
White Sand Beach, also known as Coconut Beach, is often hailed as one of the most stunning beaches in Khao Lak. Situated in the bay north of Pakarang Cape, it offers a picturesque setting for visitors to enjoy. Whether you choose to stay nearby or just spend a day there, this beach promises a delightful experience with its pristine sands and inviting waters.
Beautiful beach with very calm atmosphere. Right on this spot on the map there is a small cafe run by an elderly Thai couple, which serve drinks for a very affordable prices comparing to the other restaurants around. My mango shake was delicious. Seems like they took a bar of an old abandoned resort. You may also have a walk and see it, see how the nature of jungle „eating“ man made structures.

Beautiful part of this coastline very private beach unknown by most visitors. The water is very nice to swim also the beach is great for walking north to south. It's a very relaxing day here sleeping in the sun. Many small bars and restaurants for food or drinks. You can also bring your own. Lots of tables and chairs and sunlounges all free

Our favourite beach of our month long visit to Thailand. Most other beaches that we went to were really busy which is not our cup of tea at all.
This beach was always very quiet and is ideal for walking for miles in either direction, which we did every time that we visited. We were staying in Khao Lak but it worth the 10 - 15 minute journey heading north to get away from the crowds.
The sea was always calm and ideal for swimming.
We always used The Golden Teak restaurant and bar which is one of the first that you come to as the food and drink were excellent and the staff were brilliant. ( See my review )
We would spend all day there which was so relaxing.

My introduction to this beach was a gentleman by the name of Mr Eak saying welcome to paradise. He was not wrong, this place is staggering, even in the rain it is beyond beautiful.
The little cluster of traditional beachside huts only adds to it’s magic.
The Sun is the first open hut, run by the inimitable Mr Ex, a wonderfully robust character who’s only desire appears to be to make you as comfortable, safe & secure as possible, offering free beach chairs with a vista that is unparalleled. The cocktails here are unsurpassed.

Such a beautiful beach and good exploration walking north and south.
Due to covid craziness all businesses that were on this beach are closed. The hotel here still operates and food at their beachfront pool restaurant is very reasonably priced.
We ate and used their pool and facilities. Spent a total of 4 hours at this beach.
Ittamar Raphael — Google review
A clean stretch of sandy beach with some rocks scatters here and there.
There are many restaurants, bars, massage huts, all very reasonably priced.
I do recommend Mr Eak’s crew for the massages and Boom Boom restaurant for the food and service.
This year the food on the beach’s restaurant was much better than at the TUI resort (and much cheaper too), apart from the Talay Thai restaurant.
Worth knowing: snorkelling here is not good; the sea floor being sandy makes for 20cm of visibility. No fishes could be seen.
For snorkelling, book a trip to the Simillan or Surin islands; this was amazing!

Big beach with good shells, photographic volcanic rocks and a few chill restaurants. By 11am it started to get fairly crowded in certain areas. That being said it's a huge beach so you could always walk further to escape the crowds.

Phang Nga Elephant Park is a reputable ethical wildlife sanctuary that provides opportunities for jungle walks and feeding and bathing elephants. Visitors can appreciate the close observation of these majestic creatures, feed them bananas, and snap pictures with them without the exploitation associated with circuses or shows. The park's rehabilitation efforts are commendable, making it an ideal destination for those who want to support elephant conservation. Volunteers are affable and welcoming while food is appetizing.
amazing place! they are taking such a great care of the elephants and doing an amazing rehabilitation work. this is a REAL sanctuary, so don't expect to ride one the elephants or to see some silly show. Instead they will let you observe from a close distance, feed them some bananas and take pictures with the elephants. BUT, this is what you want. its very important to only support the places that actually help elephants, and stay away from the shows and circuses that exploit the animals and treat them bad
we came as a big family and everyone from age 2 to 70 had an amazing time

There Are many elephant parks in Thailand. But the work these people do in order to preserve the life and well-being of the elephants seems to be above par. Elephants are well taken care of and they do bareback riding. Instead of riding in a cage on top of elephant. Bareback riding is supposed to be better for the elephant, but also really enhances the experience. It is worth the cost, it is a little bit more expensive. But overall the experience and education is worth it. One of the highlights of our Thailand trip

We visited this park as part of our getyourguide trip. It was a very modern park and after research it looks like this is a park with proper treatment to elephants. And from how we can judge, we think this is fine. There is enough space for them, of course wildlife would be the best option but we don’t know the reasons why they are locked in. Feeding was fun, we actually prepared the food for them. And the bathing was a very cool experience, it looked like the elephants enjoyed it too. And the water was clean, in other places it’s very muddy. We can definitely recommend this park

Amazing experience for all, came with our 2 children who also got to paint an elephant. The dinner was also very nice, with lovely drinks. Ammy was a really engaging and fun host.
The Ban Nam Khem Tsunami Memorial Center is a historical landmark located on a picturesque beach, featuring a curved concrete wall resembling a wave and adorned with a Buddha statue. The park serves as a touching tribute to the victims of the devastating tsunami. The design of the memorial center is impeccable, conveying both emotion and beauty in equal measure. Visitors can also enjoy refreshments at the small restaurant nearby, making for an all-around memorable experience.
Nice location for this memorial, right on a beautiful beach. There is a little restaurant for refreshments.

Almost 20 years today, the destructive tsunami of 2014 that swept through Thailand made an impact on this small Ban Nam Khem village. Today the village housed the memorial of those perished on that faithful day. Nice beach, a restaurant and massage services for those who wished to relax by the beach.

Nice memorial, very touching to see the names and memories for the lost souls. But don’t expect a museum or further information, it’s really just the memorial, but still worth a visit, especially at sunset.

19th year commemoration for the Tsunami in Thailand.
In 2004, a devastating tsunami struck the shores of Thailand, leaving in its wake a trail of destruction and heartbreak. Families were torn apart, and loved ones lost, their lives forever changed by the unforgiving force of nature.
Amidst the ruins, the souls of those departed seem to linger, unable to leave the haunting grounds where tragedy unfolded. Their presence is felt in the whispers of the wind and the gentle rustle of leaves, as if the spirits are trying to convey a message of solace to the grieving hearts left behind.
As we remember the souls who perished in the tsunami, may their spirits find peace in the vast expanse beyond. Let the memories of their laughter and warmth live on in the hearts of those who cherished them. In the quietude of the affected areas, may the tranquility be a tribute to the resilience of the survivors and a memorial to those who, in the blink of an eye, became eternal guardians of the coastal landscapes they once called home.
May the waves that once wrought devastation now serve as a reminder of the strength and unity that emerged from the depths of despair. In the stillness of the affected shores, may the lost souls find repose, and may their spirits rest in eternal peace.

Glad I went to visit as I think it is important to remember and acknowledge the devastation the 2004 Tsunami caused across Southeast Asia, Sri Lanka and India.
The memorial is a bit run down which made me sad. A number of the plaques with people's names are faded and there were line needles collecting on them.
Still glad I went to visit.

A good place to visit to learn about the devastation of the 2004 Tsunami. Bamn Nam Khem was one of the most damaged areas of the provinces. The location is beautiful and you can see the Buddha image, the curved wall representing theTsunami and the wall with tiles bearing the names of all those who perished.

Beautiful beach and sad memorial. Plaques for people from all over the world. When I saw how young some of them were I admit that I cried for a bit. Hard to believe it's been 20 years. The park is not well maintained but it's Thailand.

Tsunami 2004, a painful memory for those who lost their loved ones, I felt sad in this place, with pictures of those who died, as thousands of Thais and foreigners died that day, especially in Phang Nga Province, it is difficult to speak in such a place. 😔

This memorial in Ban Nam Khem, Thailand is a beautiful and moving tribute to those who were affected by the tsunami of 2004. It is a very peaceful, respectful place that honors the terrible tragedy that occurred in this part of the world. The monument is comprised of a single, tall, bronze sculpture that rises from the waters of the sea, representing a group of people, who were trying to escape the devastating tsunami. The memorial includes a plaque with the names of the victims and those who were killed or disappeared. The memorial also includes a bridge leading out to the statue that visitors can walk across to get a bird's eye view of the statue. The memorial is a touching reminder of the tragedy that took place that day and a sober reminder of the human cost of this disaster.

The friendly and professional staff ensures a safe and enjoyable visit, set against a stunning natural backdrop. While the park is currently under construction, this does not detract from the overall experience. With four courses of varying difficulty, visitors can enjoy a range of adventure activities in the jungle while being guided by articulate and friendly instructors. Safety measures are well-implemented throughout the park.
This is great place for Adventure activities in the jungle. They have 4 courses of different difficulty level. Each course has a lot of items to cover. The instructors are articulate and very friendly. The safety measures are pretty good.

We went to the Krabi one and it was absolutely amazing! You get safety trained and then an instructor takes you round the course. We had a great instructor called Jame who was absolutely fabulous. The views are amazing and the zip lining part was so incredibly thrilling. They also give you a delicious lunch. An amazing day and I highly recommend this to anyone who is near this place. Wat Tham Suea Krabi is a vast temple complex nestled in the lush jungle, renowned for its impressive gold Buddha statue and extensive cave network. Situated 9km northwest of Krabi Town, this sprawling hill and cave temple complex makes for an excellent day trip. The entrance leads to a challenging 1260-step staircase that ascends to a 600m karst peak.
The temple was in very nice setting and everything was in the proper managed including the parking lot, the local shopping store area and also there were food sold in case you want to have a little meal in front the main entrance of the temple. There is some entry fee for international tourists/visitors but free for Thai people. The highlight of this temple is the 1,260 steps of stair climbing up the top of the cave hill. For us, it took about 40 minutes and literally depending on how healthy you are, some take shorter and some take longer time. I recommend you to try to reach to the top because the view and the area at the top is worth it. It was a breath taking view with the 360 view. You can see the horizontal of the ocean with the stunning view of the mountain beauty which is only located in Krabi. On the way, there were 2 the toilets stops and also there is drinking water tap at the top of the hill. I do recommend you to take a bottle of water. Due to the stairs is very steep and narrow so very be careful when climbing up and use the handrail will be more safe. Moreover, there is a number of steps wrote along the way which will give you a sense of progress. And also I suggest visit the tiger cave which is underneath the hill that we climb up. The overall experience was so memorable with stunning view and it may took you roughly 3 hours for this temple to explore. Enjoy the climbing.
Sriprapha Nguanson — Google review
Be ready for one hell of a stair climb. These aren't normal steps either, most of them are giant steps at a steep angle. Is it worth it? Depends on the individual really but I'd wager anyone willing to go there and climb the stairs in the first place would find it worthwhile. The views from the top are amazing, the statue is quite magnificent. It started raining as soon as we got up there which really helped cool us down. Can't imagine doing this in the middle of summer.
The state of the area up there could use a little attention.
Granted the stairs seem the only way up so that likely hampers any attempt at maintenance. Given the scale of construction of the temple at the foot of the mountain however, tells me a plan could be made. That's the only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars. Other than that it is quite a sight.
Dean Jooste — Google review
1260 steps and over 300m elevation. Not for the casuals. This will test your endurance but it's totally worth it once you get to the top. BRING WATER WITH YOU. I can't stress this enough. Also be mindful that you're visiting a temple so dress appropriately. The views are stunning.
Barkatt A-K — Google review
Such a beautiful place once you finally get to the top. The climb is pretty steep but worth it to see the beautiful golden Buddha at the top and the spectacular views of the surroundings. 1260 steps. Depending on your level of fitness it could take anywhere between 15 to 60 minutes.
Coralie Pattenden — Google review
A very beautiful scenic site on the top of the mountains but as it's said a difficult path often leads to a beautiful location so was the case with this. There are around 1260 extremely steep stairs to climb this location and not recommended for the faint hearted but the view from the top is magical and if you are ok with moderate trek then you must definitely try to go to the top of the mountain. It's really a feeling of accomplishment after completing this trek. A lovely experience and must recommended

One of the best temples we have visited in Thailand but be prepared for a long and steep climb.
The views from the top - once you get there - are superb. Also, make sure to check out the cave adjacent to the temple on the right past the main climb.
Would definitely try to come back here.

They are not lying when they say 1260 stairs but it is totally worth it. The Buddha at the top of the mountain is magnificent.
Do take plenty of water and make stops, everyone needs them you go straight up. No regrets I would go again.
Go early and be ready for monkeys they slide on the fence and can get to you very quickly.
Martin Jarc — Google review
This is one of the to go places in Krabi. But if you are unfit don't try it. It has over a thousand steps and some of it are steep. At the top you have a 360 degree view of the surrounding. Nice scenery. Do not carry too much things on the climb, keep your hands free to hold onto the railing.
Angie Fong — Google review
Strongly recommended to come to Tiger Cave for your Krabi trip.
Earliest entry is 6am so don’t be late for the breathtaking views. You gotta get proper attire, sports wear ok but no swimming for ladies.
You have been warned that the stairs have 1260 steps, steps are narrow, about 2km. Spare about 2 hours for this. There are no toilet at the peak but there are 2 “pit-stop” for toilet break. Stay hydrated.
Please help to keep the environment clean. Thank you to the temple to build and ensure safety for visitors too.
YK L — Google review
Gorgeous place, the climb too the top is steep and perilous but definitely worth a go. The views from the top are stunning and the temple is very nice. Few monkeys around which have a tendency to steal but they are very cute. Got an ice-cream after the decent. Loved it all.
Duff Beer — Google review
One thing I loved was that it's free to enter - they just ask for donations if you want to contribute. The view from the top is gorgeous after climbing those 1,260 steps (there are markers along the way to track your progress). I was wiped by the end but feeling that sense of accomplishment made it worthwhile!
Now, they do require you to cover shoulders and knees out of respect. They lend scarves at the entrance which is super nice. I did notice some people sneaking them off once inside which seemed kinda lame to me. But anyway, not a big deal to wrap up for the visit.
There are monkeys playing around on the trail which can be fun to see. And some dogs keeping them in check in case they get too excited. Make sure to pack water and an extra tee because you'll work up a sweat on the way up!
All in all, I'd definitely recommend stopping by Tiger Cave Temple if you want some exercise with a dose of culture and killer views. Don't psych yourself out about the stairs - take breaks and you'll get there! The scenery at the top is worth it.
Rhealaine Sayson — Google review
Worth a trip if you're in the area. Free entry and you can easily spend a few hours here if you're wanting to walk up the 1,200 steps to the top. Make sure you take plenty of water as you will need it. Great views at the top and you're rewarded with free water or you can buy cold water and snacks from the small shop.

This is a great place to visit during the morning or evening in cooler temperatures. It took us around 30 minutes to get to the top, though we did pass some people along the way. Something worth mentioning is that visiting this temple is no longer free and from March 2024 the entry cost is 50baht per person. The views from the top are great and it’s a lot windier up there which is refreshing.
Jamie Waller — Google review
When they said 1237 steps they meant it. The caveat is that some of those steps are on metal ladders attached to the cliff face and it is STEEP! In high temperature and humidity it was a massive challenge.
The view is spectacular. At the bottom there is a lot to explore. Definitely worth the trip.

One of the place must see and not to be missed! Tiger Cave Temple, a place you can come for worship or exertion. Small fees for non Thai tourists.
Stairs climbing are not for the faint of heart. Get proper non-slip shoes or sandals. Small bottle of water recommended for hydration or unexpected turn of event. The view is breathtaking and worthwhile.
Follow the rules on proper clothing would be beneficial.
Sitthichai K — Google review
Gorgeous place. It's not an easy climb, but the view is breathtaking. The steps are steep, there's no drinking water available up there, there are 2 washrooms on the way up, there are railings on both sides to hold. The descend isn't easy either, feet tremble and it gets very hectic. But it's all worth the view! There are no tickets to this, you're welcome to donate for the temple fund as per your wish.
Vaishnavi B N — Google review
30-45 min hike to walk up the well maintained 1200 stairs. Take a stick with you to hold back cheeky monkeys. The view on top is amazing and the temple beautiful. It’s free to hike up but you can leave a donation for the monks that maintain the temple.
Lennard Greve — Google review
I went there on the sunrise. Peaceful place.
The viewpoint with the Golden Buddha is really worth it but you have to be sure about your health and definitely take some water with you. It is 1260 steps, pretty hard way up but once you make it you would be impressed by the view.
Nataliya Burmistrova — Google review
Moderate-hard climb. Doable in 20-30 minutes with good condition. The view was wonderful. We advise you to come later in the day when most of the tours are already passed.

The tiger cave temple walk is difficult! You have to climb over 1200 steps with 200 m of elevation. My husband and I are both fit and healthy and struggled to do this walk. We were drenched in sweat from the humidity. We went here as part of a day trip so we were there in the afternoon. Definitely better to go in the morning or evening. The views were absolutely worth it. The Buddha on top is large and impressive.

Very nice temple and for free :) only donation if you'd like but otherwise you won't pay anything.
The walk up to the top is absolutely worth it
You'll go 1260 steps up the hill to reach the top.
Take enough water with you because you'll need it!
But on the top is a water refill station for free :)
The view is amazing and the Buddha is very beautiful!
Just be careful and watch out for the monkeys, they like taking things away hahah

Beautiful magnificent temple. It took me about 45min to go all the way up (as I needed to stop time to time). The views are gorgeous so it is well worth the effort. There is a water fountain at the end, which was very much appreciated.

Very nice place, great view at the top, remember water! Free water refill at the top was empty.
Not free as of march 2024, people at the start entrance changing 50 baht.
Beware of the monkeys, looks friendly, but they are not!

This is a great way to spend an evening. You need to be fit enough to clip steep stairs. If you don't mind taking your time, most active people should make it to the top. We went at 4pm when the sun wasn't so hot. I would recommend bringing water. Lots more to explore if you continue up the second set of stairs further inside the temple grounds.
Alexander Johnson — Google review
The hike is amazing and the views worth it, if you are fit you can go up in 20 minutes or less and down maybe in 15! You should keep you shirt in the temples but during the hike you can dressed as you want, there is also plenty of toilets and drinking water on the top!
Alfonso Sanchez — Google review
The views around the hike look very beautiful. But the destination itself never surprised me. if you are planning to hike during afternoon time, it will be very difficult for you because of the hot weather. You must bring bottle of water with you as there is no source of water or any kind of food above. Sunset time is recommended for this hike. 1200 steps are hard to climb but it gets easier with time.
Nasir — Google review
Worth the effort. Temp of 35 going up which made it harder so consider going earlier when cooler if you can.
Take a bottle of water and wear trainers!
Views from the top are great as are the monuments. The cave and big tree are set back as you go past the entry to Budda and are also worth a look. That's a much easier walk if elderly or have health issues. Enjoy
Matt H — Google review
We did it early in the morning 7am to ensure the heat didn’t prevent us from making it to the top. The view was stunning and worth the 1260 steps.
It’s a tough climb but we did it in 25 mins.
Krabi Elephant Sanctuary is a place where elephants are given a peaceful retirement. Unlike other places, this sanctuary limits the number of visitors to ensure a calm environment for the animals. The English-speaking guides and caring caretakers provide an opportunity for visitors to interact with the friendly elephants while also contributing to their care by preparing food and assisting with feeding and cleaning.
We had so much fun with the elephants, very well organised and lovely staff.

Lovely elephants
You can definitely tell these were elephants rescued from cruelty of elephant tracking . All the elephants were lovely and keen to hang out but were also allowed to go about their business without being pushed to interact with humans . I just wish our guide had a little bit more information to give about these lovely animals 🐘other than that it was really great .

We wanted to go to a place that was ethical, no riding & which actually cared for their elephants, this place was amazing. The elephants were not tied/chained up & no leads/spikes etc were used when the trainers walked them, just simple commands.
Yes they were trained to do certain things like stand still & allow us to interact, stroke & feed them but if they chose to wander off, this was ok too. We started off with a talk about the elephants from the owner who had a great sense of humor & fed them bananas, before taking a short walk where we stopped & got to stroke them & have our pictures taken with them. They were free to eat the palm leaves around them & a no point were chastised for this.
Next we wandered down to the mud hole to give them a mud bath (they seemed to really enjoy this), then we walked down to the river to wash it off. One of the elephants decided that they didn't wan to get out of the river afterwards, despite several attempts by it's trainer so he was allowed to stay & get an extra long scrub. There was ver basic changing rooms & open air showers for us to wash/change. We were given fruit & water afterwards (not much but it was great to sit & watch the stubborn elephant enjoying his bath while we relaxed. (Some of the elephants also came up to our platform so search out extra fruit!)
Next was making the medicine (depending on which package you chose), again the elephants stood next to us & cheekily grabbed leaves from us before we could put it in the giant pestle & pulp it along with a few other natural ingredients used to keep their digestive system healthy, they seemed to really enjoy their extra treat!
We saw the elephants being led off across the road to another area after our visit & were told this was where they were able to roam freely in a safer environment.
It was clear these elephants were well cared for & very loved. We had a fantastic time & the owner was so friendly & welcoming.

Such an amazing place! Exactly what a sanctuary should be like! No chains or anything, they just walked around freely! Joe was full of energy and information! Loved every second of it! Even though Joe thought I was in a bad mood when I got there 🤣

Amazing experience, the staff were educated and able to give us information about each elephant and why they were rescued , they let the elephants be at their own pace, if one didn’t want to come on the walk or bathe etc they didn’t force , they made sure the elephants were kept safe aswell as us . They did have ropes as
Leads but it worked the same as it would a dog leash it was there just to keep the safety of the elephant and us.

This is the real deal. People here give three overworked / old elephants a nice place to retire. Every other place would just expose the elephants to more people to increase the profits. Not the Krabi elephant sanctuary. Limited number of visitors (maximum 20 at a time). Great English guide. Gentle caretakers. Amazing and super friendly animals. Great interaction. You are actually helping - really HELPING - the sanctuary to prepare food and feed / clean the elephants. It was an absolutely amazing day. And I am absolutely convinced that the money is very well spent here.

So far it's been the highlight of our Thai holiday.
Feeding, playing with and bathing the 3 rescued from tourist industry elephants was most probably the most calming experience in my life.
While your half a day visit you'll help to feed, walk and bathe the elephants.
You can choose either morning or afternoon visit. Personally I recommend morning visit as it's still not too hot. That is of course if you don't mind an early pick up. Time will depend onin which hotel you are.
The van will pick you up from the hotel around 7am and drive you to the sanctuary.
Here, first of all you'll be told about the elephants history, how they are being looked after in the sanctuary. You'll also be told about the safety while interacting with those beautiful giants.
Later on you'll be feeding, walking and bathing them.
You'll get plenty time for interaction as well as taking some amazing photos.
Elephants look happy, well looked after and healthy.
I'd definitely recommend that breathtaking experience and truly great cause.

Highly recommend! This was an incredible experience with my family. We spent the entire day learning about these elephants, feeding, bathing and walking with them. The staff were all super friendly and educated!

Such a fabulous day at an ethical Elephant sanctuary. Fed the elephants, then had a mud bath with them. Great to see the elephants personalities. Also wonderful to hear the history of each elephant and be reassured that their remaining life will be of leisure and not of the hard work they used to endure.
Lunch provided in half day package was also amazing. Enjoyed it so much, we visited 3 days.

I absolutely loved my experience here! Three beautiful female elephants that were rescued from trekking reside here and are cared for. It felt very ethical. You get to feed, walk with, and bathe the elephants. I loved that it all seemed to be on the elephant’s time. If they wanted to wander around longer, they could. If they wanted to be done bathing, they were. I would never do elephant trekking after learning of how overworked and poorly treated elephants can be.

Khao Phanom Bencha National Park is a lush and stunning natural reserve, home to indigenous wildlife, plants, flowers and waterfalls. The park boasts a beautiful waterfall that is easily accessible without the need for an extensive hike. However, it's important to heed the signs as getting lost in the nature trail can happen. The park has friendly staff who take great care of the area, which includes two waterfalls with several levels.
Lovely waterfall after a shortish climb up the trail. Small entry fee to enter the national park. Near the entrance there is a coffee shop to buy refreshments.

Beautiful place for nature, waterfalls and swimming but the trail to the top of the mountain splits into 2 and then they both fade into jungle... Disappointing hike with no reward at the end, just many leach bites. The higher you go the more leaches there are on the ground waiting for you.
J F — Google review
I started the nature trail going clockwise, as the information posts started there with #1. It was a tough, steep and long climb/scramble to the top where the trail split to go to the view point or down to the stream and waterfalls, after an easy start down, more difficult, steep terrain, but quite a few stretches with ropes to cling to. It was a chore, but I loved it and I'd definitely to it again, but with proper hiking gear and more water. I wouldn't attempt it during the rainy season.

Beautiful waterfall...easy to get to. No need to walk miles and miles for it. Absolutely wonderful but the view point isn't there anymore. Didnt see any signs otherwise 7 years ago i was lost in the nature trail so do not ignore the sign.

Don't do the trail if youre not an experienced climber. Some parts are a little dangerous. (Very wet rocks with no support, you have to cross a river on a rope) And despite having good shoes and socks and not entering water i came back with 15 leeches around my feet and some on my back. So check yourself and your partners! Super friendly staff, helped me clean off the blood and disinfect. Also there's no taxis or data there so arrange your taxi beforehand! Because you might not be able to text them when you're in the park

We visited this park in the beginning of May 2023. Entrance fee for foreigners is 100 baht per person + 20 baht for parking moto. So the place is great! Wild nature, waterfalls, viewpoints and hiking trail - everything was good. So we reached Wang Tewada waterfall, and then we went back, but we could explore more (see the map). Next time we will go to the top if the mountain 💪

One of the less traveled hikes... Super friendly national park staff. Several trail options, from easy to difficult. For the longer, more challenging trails, wear proper gripping shoes, take water, bananas or energy bars and insect/ leeches repellent if wet. The forest is magnificent, and there a breathtaking viewpoints, but some fallen trees can force you go off track. GPS is useful.

There was a fee for visitors and there were different charges between Thai and foreigner visitors. There were a parking lot. If you wanna experience waterfall trail this place is recommended. It is an easy hiking and climbing however, I do recommend people who fit enough as it has some part that you need to climb with rope. Overall experience was great. There are a lot of big tropical tree where you can see with the sound of the wild animal. There is some area that you can enjoy in the waterfall.

Khao Phanom Bencha was a really cool place to visit. I went twice and found a lot of interesting species. My main interest is fungi - and I discovered some pretty neat ones. The Huai To waterfall was just a short walk - heaps of leeches so look out. There are other side trails to explore as well - and I reckon the nature trail off across the stream to the right before starting the Huai To waterfall trail is a nice alternate route (depending on how much time you have).
Nice facilities and a cafe at the entrance. 100THB for foreigners and 20THB if you need to park a motorbike.

Finally a decent waterfall, there is one at the bottom and a small one on top. The views are breathtaking and you can take a swim to refresh yourself. There are also a lot of lizards on the hike. You do have to be a little bit careful going to the top because it is steep, wear shoes or sturdy sandals.

Very nice and beautiful Nationalpark! And absolutely worth going there.
The Nationalpark is super well maintained and the staff is also super friendly.
Entry is 100 THB per person and 20 THB for the scooter parking.
You have a long Natur trail hike or a short one to a few waterfalls:)
It's definitely worth going there :)

Super place to visit! Not so many turist. Quiet, you can swimm in the Waterfall! Awesome!
National park known for its lush forests, various waterfalls, pools & regional wildlife.
To get to Huay To waterfall I saw there was a 1k nature trail, or 0.4k straight walk. I took the trail not realizing it went straight up the side of a mountain. I was not wearing proper shoes and was in a bathing suit but the good part was the trail dropped me at the top of the falls where I had a pool to swim in without splashing kids. Lovely and challenging hike!
*Edit* I made this hike again with my teenage kid in the rainy season. It was hot. It was muggy. It was slippery. All of that would have been good fun… if it weren’t for the terrestrial leaches. Check my video. They chase you and move FAST! I recommend this hike in the dry season only!

Best waterfall I have been to in Thailand.
3 different levels, great views, top one is harder to get to, but worth it.

Nice hike through the jungle, to an amazing waterfall. It does cost to enter, 220 baht, if you're not local. worth it in my opinion.

It is inside a national park area, and the entrance is 100 baht for adults
It is about 500 meters walk, from the entrance to reach the waterfall
I visited in a rainy day, so it was wild
And the water was not clean
These is sharp stairs, and slope on the right side of the waterfall to climb. But you need proper shoes and cannot go with Slippers

Yes, it’s a long drive on the scooter from Ao Nang and yes, you have to pay 100 per person and 20 for the scooter. But the waterfall is super as are the surroundings! We were amazed! And the canteen serves tasty food for a great price.

Calm, not crowded place with authentic forrest. You can also use nature loop. I recommend start nature trail first and go back near the waterfall. Elevation gain of loop is about 200-300m

Nice waterfall just outside of Krabi - beautiful nature and park is well kept. You can also climb to the top for a stunning view, but it’s a steep and slippery climb.

The waterfall it self is very special
Many corners to sit and witness the water flowing ,, bath
Relax and feel the power of nature.
Inside the water there are fish that will come to eat your skin ,
The hike up is steap and will activate your heart ❤️ well
The reason that I am giving 4 stars is because I ended up with 2 leeches on my skin , I feel that the place could have announce their existence there.
The good thing was that later on I had a kind support to clean the wounds of the leeches when I arrived back to the visitor center

This was the best hike, rock climbing adventure yet.the park charges 100 baht per adult and 20 baht for a scooter. The park was well kept and very clean. Everything was green a vibrant while walking towards the waterfalls. There were times we were surrounded by butterflies. It was very magical. There are three tiers of waterfalls and you have to work to get to each tier. Follow the cobblestone and ropes. Watch out for slippery moss and enjoy the falls
Wat Rat Uppatham, also known as Wat Bang Riang, is a stunning temple complex located in southern Thailand. Perched atop Khao Lan Hill in the Thap Put region, this temple is famous for its giant seated Buddha statue and a statue of Kuan Im, the Goddess of Mercy. Visitors are drawn to the temple in hopes of receiving blessings for good luck.
The most beautiful place! There are 2 spots - wat at the begining of the hill (great boat with temple) and wat on top of the hill. They are close, but not in the same place.
If you like to go where is amazing view you should take left road (when you are staying in front of first wat with boat).

Wat Bang Rieng Temple, is one of the most beautiful temple complexes in southern Thailand. After a winding ascent along a narrow mountain road you will be greeted by long stairwell adorned with serpents (Named Naga) which make up both sides of the walk way leading to the temple.
The main temple building of Chedi Rat Uppatham is positioned at a height of over 100 meters. Sitting below there is a statue of a golden Buddha with snakes and a statue of the goddess of mercy Guanyin (Guan Yin), complete with it's own meditation room where the monks come to pay respect and meditate.
The construction of the complex began at the behest of the King of Thailand, Rama 9 in 1986. The courtyard of this temple is decorated in traditional Thai style, and here you can see the various mythical creatures of the three-headed elephant Erawan, yakshas and the Garuda bird. From the courtyard you can enter Chedi, where the Buddha’s relics are located. Chedi is located on a high hill, so there opens a great view of the sitting Buddha statue and the Guanin statue against the background of the surrounding mountains and banana plantations. The inside is elaborately decorated with historical and culturally significant artwork central to the Buddhist religion.
This temple is truly something to behold providing diverse architecture, numerous points of interest and amazing views. Well worth the visit.
Remember to show respect and wear shirts that cover the shoulders and preferably longer shorts that come to knee length. If you don't have any of this with you then the temple has some pyjama style pants you can slip on.

A lovely elephant experience. There are options for just feeding the elephants and for walking along with them. It was very nice to have a 40 minute meet and greet option because we were short on time in this area. No riding, no bathing, which is a good thing. The elephants were allowed to wander away if they desired (the mahouts would call to them but didn’t pinch their ears to keep them near us like I have seen in other places). The two females rescues we met were enthusiastic about the plentiful bananas we had for them and chose to stay for head scratches.

We did the 1.5h program in the afternoon and met the lovely Wassana, one of the two elephants in this sanctuary. The owner explained to us that the other elephant was on a special diet and was not to be fed by us. Even though the group was quite large and there was only 1 elephant, we had enough time to feed her bananas, walk with her and give her attention. She was walking with us because she knows she will get some bananas, but she is also doing her own thing, playing with the trees and walking away when she wants.
The owner explained a lot about the elephants and sanctuary and my impression was really good, I do feel they care about the elephants and they are hoping to rescue more (but they would have to be bought from their current owners, for quite the amount).
So even though it was a more "limited" experience, it was still worthwhile and recommended if you are in the area.
Reservation via the website was easy and via the telephone number a pickup from our hotel in town was arranged quickly.

An unforgettable experience at the Khaosok Elephant Sanctuary! In addition to interacting with the well-cared-for elephants, we had the opportunity to actively participate on the farm – we planted banana trees and enjoyed an informative farm tour. This aspect was particularly enriching and educational. The lunch was delicious, another highlight. A small note: The staff speaks limited English, but with a few questions, you can get all the information you need. Overall, a fantastic experience that I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to respectfully experience animals and nature.

Lek, the owner, is very nice, so are his elephants :). I had lots of fun there. You can make food for the elephants and feed them afterwards. You’ll take a little walk with them and play a little bit. Lek will also talk to you and tell you some facts and information about his animals.

We visited the sanctuary in July 2022, we went for the morning program.
It was a wonderful experience for us, and our kids. The owner told us a lot about the elephants, their habits and history. I think he and his family are doing a great thing running this place, and saving these beautiful animals.
It is well worth a visit and if you are in Khao Sok, please go there. You will not regret it and at the same time you'll be able to support the place. Thank you!

What a remarkable experience!!
We were doubting to visit an elephant sanctuary but based on all the reviews we came here and really happy about it! This sanctuary has become a haven for two rescued elephants. One was saved from a wood company and, being accustomed to the nature, she can forage for her own food. The other elephant, rescued from Phuket, had spent her entire life reliant on humans for feeding. Unfortunately, her dental health suffered due to the sweets she was fed in Phuket.
The sanctuary's owner is truly dedicated to the welfare of these majestic creatures. The elephants have the freedom to roam throughout the sanctuary, which includes a river, all on their own. Visitors are given the wonderful opportunity to feed them bananas and prepare nourishing food balls made from elephant-friendly foods, bananas, and rice.
Notably, the sanctuary prohibits bathing activities. Observations have shown that the elephants do not enjoy it and, furthermore, excessive water exposure is detrimental to their foot health!
Make sure you contact the owner upfront. He will pick you up from your camp. On the website there are different times mentioned. We did the 1,5 tour and stayed another 30mins to enjoy the elephants with a drink made from plants and coconut bites.
I would really recommend coming here to support this sanctuary!!!

If you want a genuinely ethical and special experience with elephants - this is the place to go. No bathing, no riding, no abuse; the elephants are allowed to live the rest of their lives in a natural habitat without forced labour which they were subject to in the past.
I first visited the sanctuary a couple weeks ago to do the half day tour and my first impressions left me a little skeptical. I am a passionate zoologist and conservationist, and have been fortunate enough to have some incredible wildlife experiences all around the world but I know that many projects like this often cut corners and disguise the reality of their work in order to maximize profit. Let me assure you that this is definitely not the case here, these guys deserve all the help and recognition that they can possibly get.
Once I got to know the owner (Lek) and understanding his project, I quickly realised how passionate and heavily invested in the elephants him and his family are. It's a family run project, with all the family living locally and contributing to the care of their lovely elephants Maruay and Wassana (plus their new young male addition who's not yet ready to meet the public due to his abusive past).
After a very educational and enjoyable chat with Lek, I decided to come back to the sanctuary and volunteer for a couple of days before I returned to work in Bangkok. I was travelling the south of Thailand for 3 weeks and my time at the elephant sanctuary was my absolute highlight, it was such a memorable and unique experience to spend so much time walking and working alongside these gentle giants.

I’m disappointed I can’t recommend this place. We booked the “half-day experience” which got off to a good start. The two elephants seemed to be happy to feed and weren’t coerced in to posing for photos, but as you arrive they are ready and waiting. It seems as though their routine is so mundane they just know where to be and what to do.
All other visitors in our party had only booked 1.5hours. If you are desperate to see these elephants then that is what I would recommend. Don’t waste your money on anything more.
Contrary to the itinerary, you learn nothing more about the elephants rescue, diet, age or the sanctuary than what is written on the website. None of the staff speak fluent English which causes obvious problems when an element of the day is supposed to be educational/informative. No other languages were offered either.
The best part of the experience was strolling with them through the sanctuary, but they needed a bit of persuading.
As we continued our “half-day” we were driven across the road to cut some grass with machetes along with the staff. We watched them work in silence for 20 minutes before heading back to the sanctuary, at which point we were offered to use a chipper to churn the grass in to more food, which we were given to feed the elephants again. It’s as if the poor things just eat all day on demand.
When we asked for our lunch (which was supposed to be included) we were instead offered a drive up a mountain to enjoy the view (which is not included in the itinerary). We decided at this point to cut our losses and go back to our accommodation.
Whilst the elephants weren’t whipped or prodded with rods, there was an awful lot of shoving and heavy patting going on, especially when the guides seemed keen to get them in the water, which they both refused to do.
Certainly doesn’t feel like a sanctuary I’m sad to say.

There seems to have been some bad reviews in the past. I had just visited this month March 2022 and let me tell you that it was an incredible experience. I could feel the love that the owners had for their elephants and their urge to rescue more. At first, I was told by my hotel that there was elephant bathing - but when I asked about it at the Sanctuary they said that they dont do that because forcing the elephants to get down on their knees in the water are bad for their joints. It's been a tough year for them, they are doing everything in their power to nurture these elephants so please support them!
The most incredible moment was when it start raining - i'll never forget how amazing the elephant looked as it cooled off in the rain.

I absolutely loved this experience! I think this is the best elephant sanctuary that you could visit. The people treat the elephants so kindly and you can see that the elephants can do whatever they want and are not being harmed in any kind of way. We could walk with the elephants and feed them and the people told us about their past. They told us about their amazing future plans to safe even more elephants as well. Most definitely recommend going here!!!

Wonderful experience at the Elephant Sanctuary. Got to feed the elephants twice as well as walk with them. They are free to wander as they please but came with us as we had food (they need to eat a lot!). We heard how they had come to be there (which was sad) but it lovely to see them content. I felt the staff really cared about them. One piece of advice is to wear trousers and long sleeves plus insect repellent. I got bitten quite a lot by mosquitoes.

This was exactly the experience I was looking for. Just to be up close to these majestic animals was a huge thrill. My confidence to feed them grew quickly and we took a stroll around the park to feed and exercise them. These elephants were rescued and are now living the rest of their lives in a Sanctuary. Very special experience.

Breathtaking experience, absolutely loved seeing the elephants in an amazing large sanctuary with a river and palm tree forest. The elephants seemed very content, we were very cautious in picking an ethical elephant sanctuary and this one doesn’t allow bathing or riding (both activities we were not comfortable doing for ethical reasons). The staff were lovely and answered all our questions about the elephants. Would recommend coming here over any other locations.

An amazing, once in a lifetime opportunity to see elephants in their natural habitat. We were so skeptical about visiting elephants as we saw the way they were treated in Phuket. However, so glad we trusted this place. The animals were so clearly relaxed and happy - friendly on their own terms. It was informative and eye opening to see the way people treat such sacred animals before they are rescued by places like this. Would 100% recommend visiting if you are in Khao Sok. Beautiful marine national park with extensive wildlife.
We stayed two nights and saw several animals during our time in the park, including wild elephants, king cobra, boar, Indian bison, and different kinds of monkeys.
On the first day we hiked up to a view point overlooking the southern part of the park. It’s quite a trek and not suitable if you have challenges walking. Beware of leeches during the wet season.
In the north eastern part of the lake, there’s another short hike you can take to visit a coral cave. It’s large and once you’re furthest into it there’s literally no light.
Can highly recommend spending a few days here if you enjoy nature and wildlife!

Stunning scenery and pure serenity (except of the tourist boats going up and down)
We took a 5 hours private longtail boat “tour” from River View Resort at Chaewlan for 4500bht (such a ripoff. National park and some other fees were excluded 240bht, they don’t even provide a bottle of water) which was supposed to include a guide but the “guide” turned out to be the boatman who spoke no English. We basically sat on the boat under minimal shade and the boatman just drove us from place to place and gestured “bats (they were on a tree which you can only zoom in with your camera from the boat)” “monkeys (on the rocks)”and a bay that supposed had Elephants. We sat in the boat at the bay with 3 other boats just listening to crashing trees in the foliage while the boatman pointed into the trees “Eleohants” for 10mins.
When I asked if we could stop and swim. He just stared at me and we continued on. Went to a pontoon that had a restaurant (tables but didn’t looked like they served food) which was attached to small floating huts that had guests lounging on their fronts.
We also had a stop at the jungle trek (extra payment for ticket 200bht)
While the scenery was beautiful, I don’t think you will need to do 5 hours of it. It became rather pointless after the first 2.

This is an absolutely stunning national park. The scenery is very beautiful, the mountains the sky are very beautiful. One of my personal favorite moments was waking up early and see the sunrise between the mouth. Despite the lake being man made, the wildlife surrounding the lake is very healthy and thriving. We saw multiple school of wild Buffalo, rare birds and all kinds of water lizard. Highly recommend if you love natural and wildlife.

The national park offers several activities for nature enthusiasts, such as jungle trekking, wildlife spotting, and bird watching. There are also opportunities for cave exploration, bamboo rafting along the Sok River, and swimming in natural pools and waterfalls. The park is known for its rich biodiversity, and it's a great place to experience the beauty of Thailand's tropical rainforests.

This area of very touristy except for further away resort. Overall, the resorts were not designed to cater to too many tourists. For example, the sewerage system are usually not well designed for large utilisation. In some cases, they are discharged into the lake. Overall, the scenery is nice.

A beautiful large lake. It is definitely worth taking a boat tour to visit the national park. You can see various animals and there are caves. These are also very interesting to explore. It is really impressive how the high mountains rise out of the water.

Great place we had the pleasure of visiting! Highly recommend having a tour guide. We used khaolaktourplan.com. Kang was our guide and he made the experience special!
We on a boat to a cave, jungle trail, awesome lunch in a bungalow hotel, drove around, then went to a special “Michelin Guide”restaurant that only locals go to! Khao sok was amazing!

Obviously the site has some visual impact and makes for a great day excursion. The walking through the cave was kind of a more thrilling experience with the swimming in the dark.
The rocky formations are very high and gives you a difference sense of scale, the scenery makes for great pics.
Be aware that on the 2 days tour you won't sleep in the middle of the rocky formations but on the side so can be disappointing. Also sad they don't stop a great Viewpoint to get the overall feeling of the landscape.

Stunning national park, would recommend staying on the lake bungalows if you can afford it, we paid around 50 euros. The scenery is spectacular. We also did a walk through the jungle and through a cave included in the price which was really cool. Not too toursity either unlike other parts of Thailand. Would 100% recommend.

Beautiful untouched place. You get amazed to see the rocks, turquoise water.
The best and cheapest way to see it is to arrive to the port and hire a long tail boat which will bring you everywhere, show all the most beautiful picturesque points and if you wish also to the floating restaurant. Price for the whole boat with the captain varies from 2000-3000 ฿

Just the best experience. Book an overnight trip at the lake and just enjoy nature, monkeys, hikes, caves, good food and no wifi
Alex Jacker — Google review
Beautiful scenery. Elephants can be seen or heard roaming around the park. Monkeys can also be seen. There is a fun trek to a cave also. Canoeing available. The local food served was very tasty.
The hotel on the lake we ended up staying at had communal bathrooms unless a 200 baht/per person update for a private/attached bathroom. The one star reduction mostly comes from there being no AC in the rooms and no electricity in the rooms until 6pm til about 10am.

I had the privilege of staying overnight at Khao Sok and it was simply magical.
I stayed on one of several floating bungalows across the park surrounded by incredible views, borrowing a kayak to explore on my own time was one of my favourite parts of my stay aside from watching the sunrise behind the mountain's
If you are a fan of beautiful "natural" landscapes and you're in southern Thailand definitely worth a visit 🤣

Everything about this place is unreal. The views, floating bungalows, the water, the animals. Truly is amazing as they say it is. I’d highly recommend coming here with the tour guide as your not allowed to come without one

A bit touristy, with lots of boat lining up to ferry the masses out onto the lake, but still well worth a visit. The day trip we did included an easy walk through the jungle, where our guide imparted various interesting facts about plants, insects and animals living within the park. We also completed a quick walk through the Pra Kai Pelch Cave. Which contains lots of stalagmites, stalactites and other spectacular formations.

This place is absolutely stunning g to float through. I did a 2 day one night tour and the deeper you can get into this incredible lake the better.
It was so refreshing swimming in fresh water and spotting the wildlife. The rock formations are incredible! Massive, beautiful and of course photogenic.
This place is worth the stop and energy to explore!

Amazing! Such beautiful views! For 1,500 baht each for a full day, it was so worth it. Each boat ride is different but we were able to go see a cave, swim, free dinner and kayaking.
We booked through our amazing accommodations Khao Sok River Camp. 👌🏽

Khao Sok is a captivating destination that truly comes alive in the early morning. Waking up to witness the sunrise, accompanied by the mystical fog, creates a mesmerizing atmosphere. Being among the first on the lake imparts a sense of tranquility and a unique connection with nature. Rajjaprabha Dam, a towering rural dam constructed in 1987 to generate electricity and facilitate irrigation, is a serene getaway offering refreshing experiences. Though remote and not easily accessible by road, the place boasts of clear blue waters surrounded by mountains and sky. The water's emerald color enhances its beauty under the sunny weather.

Beautiful dam waterway with great views. You can take a boat ride around the dam if you have time. There is a cafe, restaurant and ice cream shop. The gardens are a beautiful and relaxing place to spend some time and take a picnic if you like. There is a good course if you like to play also a resort if you want to stay over it's a bit expensive to stay but there are many other cheaper options nearby.highly recommend a visit here heaps of photo opportunities. It's free to enter but you have to pay for the boat trip not sure how much

Also, if going there, spend 2-3 days at any resort/hotel/hostel near Khao Sok national park. Enjoy Jungle Safari, Night Canoeing and spotting Rafflesia Flower blooming (Largest Flower in World). Hope my review helps.

Nice little shrine to walk through if you’re passing by, but it’s not worth travelling for otherwise. The place is lit up beautifully at night although they close it so you can’t get close by. In daytime it’s nice to sit by for a short while and just relax as it’s very quiet without many visitors.

Wat Suan Mokkh Phalaram is a serene Theravada Buddhist monastery situated in a peaceful forest environment. It provides opportunities for meditation retreats and learning about dhamma amidst the beautiful scenery of huge trees, rock formations, and sand spaces. Visitors can purchase books and souvenirs related to dhamma from the building near the entrance gate. The temple is surrounded by a stunning park but unfortunately lies close to a busy highway that connects Bangkok to the south.
A stunning park is surrounding this temple. Very beautiful, all in all. The only thing that disturbed that peace is that highway that runs just outside the temple...it is very busy, as it is the main traffic artery between Bangkok and the south. I assume the monks who live there don't even hear it anymore. 😁

Located in a nicely kept park, this is not a buddhistic temple, but an ecumenic ( multi-religious ) center of spiritual belief. Both the architecture -with one building resembling the shape of a ship- as well as the wall paintings are very remarkable and well worth a visit.

A forest temple, Wat Suan Mokkhabalarama was founded by Buddhadasa Bikkhu in 1932. The grounds are massive and cover 120 acres of space, mostly jungle the way it was when originally founded. Suan Mokkh temple is on the west side of the highway, and is sometimes called the "Thai side" of Wat Suan Mokkh. Anyone can go there to walk around, or register to stay in either the male or female dorm there overnight without charge. The sleeping area is concrete and you'll get a pillow and a mosquito net. This is an ideal temple for self-guided meditation retreats. I've spent time here doing so.
If you're not going to stay overnight, you might try walking meditation on the forest paths. There are dogs around some of the monk kutis which are not friendly.
Across the highway on the east side of it is the Suan Mokkh International Dhamma Hermitage - meditation center. This is where the 10-day retreats are held each month for foreigners (1st through 10th of the month), and for Thais the 11th through the 20th of each month. Sometimes over 100 people join the retreat. This is a silent retreat. Very little talking can be done during the 10 days. This is not for everyone. Meals are provided and instruction in English is provided. You should already be able to meditate for an hour or so at a time, and just know that most of the day will be spent in meditation, mindfulness, working, walking, and contemplating the present moment as much as possible. No phones or other electronics. A donation is suggested.
One of the best meditation temples in Thailand. Highly recommended for meditators looking to take it to the next level. If you have any questions, you can contact me through the Jhana8 website. With metta... Vern

A must visit if you are interested in history, this is an amazing for me as I am particularly interested in Srivijaya period and I wish to know more about the history during that period of time.
This nice Buddhist also house a school in a more traditional style.
There is a the main hall (Viharn) with nice style of Buddha statues not seen in other places.
The stupa /Chedi is so beautiful, which is believed to house the Buddha relics.
There is a huge car park in the front area.
Must check out the museum if you are interested to see items from prehistoric to 6th 7th 8th etc century.
The museum is part of the National Museum in Bangkok, which I hope to visit as we have been told many original artifacts are housed in the National Museum.
Enjoy your visit.

I noticed that there are few recent reviews for this hotel so I am posting this April 2022.
The hotel is actually is not on the beach or is it?.....There are actually several buildings including a tower on the property and the lobby/reception is at the back of the long lot. There is limited parking but there is parking out on the rear street. The property opens directly onto the beach road so it is quite handy to the beach and there is a 7Eleven right beside the entrance.
In general, this Hotel was quite nice and an obviously older luxurious property. Of course, being older, it does show signs of wear. I quite liked the hotel however the WiFi system was not that fast and having to deal with the sign in procedure, was an absolute pain. The breakfast (300 baht/person unless includedin the package) was acceptable, contrary to some reviews. A couple of dishes were not great but overall it was varied and a buffet.
I had a bathtub in my room (I prefer a walk-in shower) and my mattress was quite acceptable, not a really hard mattress like Thai hotels often have.
Again, I liked the hotel and the stay.
