Tree Top Walk Sungai Sedim
Nature & Parks
Forests
Elevated steel bridges form a canopy trail above a tropical rainforest with resident monkeys.
Had a lovely walk on this tree top walkway with my 2 kids aged 4 and 7. It is highly recommended. The structure seems well maintained and safe. Those afraid of height may find it challenging at first but its one of the best way to overcome the fear as you would be busy enjoying the views and quietness of forest. It took us around 50 minute to complete the tour. Parking was plenty at the park entrance and you have to walk around 200 m to the tree top entrance. Can just ask around the park operator. Overall, we really enjoy it.

Beautiful and serene space for de-stressing. Accessible for strollers.
The Tree Top Walk is all together with the nearby camp sites and river goers so the parking space is mainly occupied by them. Minus 1 star because of poorly manage parking space.
Toilet is superb clean, available before the entrance to the Tree Top Walk.
The entrance may look a bit "hill-y" at first, but its all a smooth walk from there till the exit.
I would definitely come again 👍🏻

Great experience. Entrance fee is rm 10 for adult and rm 6 for kids below 7 years old. Better go there in the morning as it will be less crowded and easier for you to find parking. While you on the bridge you can see tons of trees, flowers and waterfalls from sedim river system. I got lucky and able to see hornbill flying over the blue sky into the tree line. It was a relaxing and healthy activity for my family. P/S: since the tree top walk is just walking distance from sedim river and waterfall, you may want to bring your camping gear while you there just to enjoy the nature and to cooling off in one of best waterfall in kulim area.

Its good for science based learning project. Your children can learn about parasites tree and the symbiosis process. There are signage explaining on certain significant tree.
Nice for short visit, you can enjoy the waterfall after the visit.

This Canopy Walk is interesting but not for the faint hearted people. The atmosphere is fresh and cool. Sound of 🐦 bird chirping and the flow of the Sedim river makes the environment tranquil. Parking is available but need to pay. RM4 per entry.
Shaik Nazirrudin — Google review
Interesting experience to be able to walk high above the forest floor among the canopy and tree tops. However, it was rather quiet and disappointing as I expected to hear or see forest birds. In fact, there were more bird activities at the car park area where a pair of rhinoceros hornbill was sighted. By the way, staff should be more punctual instead of taking their own sweet time to open up the Tree Top Walk. Also, car park area is too messy, full of fallen leaves and uncollected rubbish. It looked more like an abandoned facility. Simply don't understand why collect money for parking when nothing is done for maintenance?

Nice nature walk adventure.Moderately maintained, & lack of toilets. But its still a nice place to visit.

Pros : the top walk have breath taking view when reach the highest .
It's the most longest Tree top walk in the world base on what I know .(925m)(25000m tall)
The walk is on a thin metal like surface where it became very extreme to walk on if it's for people that are scare of high
Beside tree top walk , below also have flying fox ( need to booked ) , kayaking ( need to book ) , paintball (need to book ) jungle tracking ??? ( need ask local )
Con : below the walk , there was a river , on the shore , there were a lot of rubbish , and burning rubbish , and food waste , even the management didn't done it properly.
A lot of activity are not mention on booking or location , we follow the instruction on the activity board where kayaking is located , and we didn't manage to find it , and the path leads toward into the jungle (we cant find where it leads to , due to its too long ,and we head back )

Great place to experience canopy walk (tree top). Brief introduction on trees/plants made the walk more interesting. Lovely view on river running far below your feed is challenge to many.
Recommended to visit
The river bank is an added bonus for cool dipping hours with family and friends.

I went for tree top walk. The scenery is amazing and very chilling. Parking entrance is RM2 per person. Tree Top Walk Ticket RM12 for adult and half price for senior citizen. Suggest to bring mosquito sticker or spray. Close at 5.30pm. Can go play water after the walk at open area near the parking. So remember to bring extra clothes and towels. Do bring along umbrella to walk the tree top walk
Public toilet is closed
You can go to the resort toilet which is located just opposite but remember to contribute some money to the tabung outside the toilet.

Highly recommended to come here with more food and drinks. You will enjoy the nature with friends and families. Expect to spend 2 to 3 hours here for healing. Do not go during raining season to avoid accidents. Adult tickets rm 2 and children rm 1. Optional tree top experience rm 12 for adult and rm 6 for children.

Quiet place. A different view of the trees, being in the canopy top. It is sturdy and strong. Just a bit careful of moss, since this is a rainforest, high humidity.
Entrance fee for Malaysian RM 12, which is very reasonable considering there is a need for constant maintenance.
The gallery is also full of information of the walkway and some info of birds for avid birdwatchers.

Kg Ulu Riau Tree Top Walk Kg Ulu, 09700 Karangan, Kedah, Malaysia
Chew Jetty is a historical wooden stilt house village located on the waterfront in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. The village dates back to the 19th century and is a popular tourist attraction due to its unique architecture and location overlooking the ocean.
Lovely walk down a narrow pier where you will find food, ice cream, hand made gifts, bags you name it. We walked down here every day as it was nice to interact with the locals. Just before entering the chew Jetty on the left is a man who serves noodles and rice for 7rm we are there everyday. At the end is a small temple and a lovely sea view
Emma Georgina Louise — Google review
This is a very nice old jetty with a fantastic view. The wooden path to the jetty is rickety but stable. There are some shops selling locally made souvenirs. The view from the jetty of the harbour and fishing boats is pleasant. Nice place to go.

Lovely walk down a narrow pier where you will find food, ice cream, hand made gifts, bags you name it. At the end is a small temple and a lovely sea view. Opposite there is a food court where you can find lots of local foods there.
Kian Yong Tan — Google review
The crowd flocked to the jetty and few quiet houses formed a sharp contrast. Most traditional old wooden houses become little shops selling food and souvenirs makes this place commercialised. Feeling sad for residents here who don't want to be disturbed but some places like this are really attractive and good for visitors to walk around. Enjoying the gentle sea breeze and eating some good food, what a life.
Joyce Ng — Google review
Visited the jetty at about 6.30pm so I didn't managed to visit the shops as most of them are closed/closing in progress.
However, the jetty does allow you to see the sea, which make it a very good scenic place for photography.
If you like to fully explore the jetty (or the series of jetties found along the stretch), it might be useful to cater at least half day exploring the locations.
Accurate as of August 2023.
Sok Ling Goh — Google review
Nothing interesting. It is a small stretch with some houses on each side when you are walking in. I suppose this might be an interesting experience for some tourist. The views are okay but we reached the end in 10 mins and walked back.
There are some shops are the front before going in and inside it is mostly small souvenir stores and those selling ice cream.
Annabethia — Google review
A living cultural artefact, still filled with people staying there today, of a community who built their property into the sea. It was nice and the path was shaded, although it was low tide and the place smelt of stagnant water. Would be improved with better environmental control, although I had to say the area was pretty litter free.
Chin Zhi Hui — Google review
Visit this place for a quick walk to see the Chinese houses on the jetty. Families still live there so be respectful. There are shops you may explore

Nice port view. The area is not as big as I first thought. Small vendors alongside the wooden path. Please support the locals as much as you can. Buy drink bottles etc

Interesting place but v touristy. Quite clean n safe but nothing much. Handmade ice cream is very good. Check my photo to pick d right one. Souvenirs r not unique n cost ~RM 1+ more than other shops.

Great place to catch the breeze on a hot day.
We arrived about 6.30pm, and most shops/homes were closed up even though it was relatively busy. Recommend going earlier.
Trish Solly — Google review
The most visited jetty.. As one walks on the wooden platform from the front to the back, one sees a lot of souvenir shops ,shops selling cold drinks, ice kacang, ice creams. At the end of the walk, one can see Penang bridge.
GAN LAY YONG — Google review
Probably the most popular out of the clan jetties, it still retains the stilts houses with residents living in it. Some of the houses become partly souvenir/snacks stand which can be quite touristy, but nevertheless it's still a nice place to drop by for a walk to learn more about the history of the clan jetties. We visited very early morning (9am) to beat the crowd and heat and so not many shops were open and it's still quite calm and peaceful. There are a few street arts and nice lantern installation in the alley, and a temple near the entrance as well. No entrance fee, but be mindful of noise and respectful by not taking pictures without their permission as people live there.
M J — Google review
A great tourist attraction for a leisure walk and sight-seeing. Walk to the end of the jetty through the wooden walkway and you will be rewarded with beautiful up sea views. Great to go in the morning and evening too. Just don't be noisy and interrupt the residents. 😃
Chung Meng Chew — Google review
As an historical place is interesting how people emigrated from China to the Malay Peninsula and how they grouped by families in houses over the sea and the influence they had in the city. The main problem is that there is only one sign with this information and the rest is a main hallway full of shops. If you want to see a more authentic one, you can find in this same Jetty, just take the path to the right as soon as you enter the place, is full of houses not oriented to sell you anything.

Time seemed to have stood still and it’s still back in 1970s or 80s where a simpler life existed.
That is the time warp you experience when meandering through the corridors at Chew Jetty.
Recommend to come early morning before the tourists descend and enjoy the peace and somewhat tranquil surroundings.

Fun jetty to walk through the traditional houses by the beach over the sea. A little warm and we stopped by in this pretty shaved ice cafe. Fruit tea is refreshing. A good stop to cool down and freshen up.

Have to come here! Day would be easier to take beautiful photos but weather may be a little hot, so wear a cap/ a hat! Easy to locate and free entry. Beautiful seaview😍

They have a temple there at the entrance and along the way to the jetty, you can find shops that selling some local crafted items.
Was very hot when we visiting, it would be great to go in the morning or evening when there’s not too hot.
Jason Hiew — Google review
The most popular of the clan jetties. It consist of a short walk on the pier with souvenir shops are both sides of the walkway. Takes about 30 mins at most to walk around unless you really want to slow shop. Some shops have more bargains than the others. It’s up to you to decide what you want.

I enjoyed walking around and recommend you visit. Take a right off of the main tourist area to see a some of the more local/real living quarters.

'Chew Jetty' is the most popular of a number of similar jetties in this area. It is a photographer's delight with many shops and restaurants, numerous views (some nice, some not so nice!).
Close to the Jetty Food Court, it's well worth a visit.

Old village by the sea where there are many food stalls and souvenirs shops. Smell is bad because of too many shops and houses delivering garbage and other on the water. Compared to Tai O village at Hongkong, the environment here is worse.
Devon Nguyen — Google review
Chew Jetty is the most developed and best preserved of all jetties, although other jetties are perhaps more picturesque. :-) There are now a total of 7 or 8 preserved clan jetties in George Town. Clan Jetties are villages on the water (stilts). They were built and inhabited by Chinese immigrants. There are several shops and cafes in the village.
On the shore, in front of the entrance, there is a small Chinese temple (Temple of the Monkey God). There are also several restaurants in the area.
There is not tickets to enter this area.
Mariusz Malec — Google review
Really neat place, historical for Penang showcasing the life of the Chinese fisherman that arrived in Georgetown. There are 5 of them, Chiew seems to be the real popular one, probably because Armenian St. ends at the road across from it. Visit them all, some are quieter than the others. Great food places though so eat
Cris M — Google review
a unique place, must visit here when come to Penang. a yummy muah-chi selling by locals. many houses transform into business. some still remain their original design.
Giselle Lim — Google review
Despite the horrible start (British did not allow Chinese labourers to live on land) these communities built on stilts anchored in the water still thrive as living quarters and small businesses. Interesting murals and a temple at both ends of the jetty. Chew Jetty is the only one that allows tourists.
Located in George Town, Penang, Malaysia, the Khoo Kongsi is an important temple and museum where visitors can learn about the history of the Chinese people in Southeast Asia. The building features intricate carvings and paintings, making it a must-see for anyone visiting Penang.
Beautiful, well-preserved compound that provides a wonderful reference of the Khoo clan's heritage, past and present.
There's a museum area on the ground floor that I recommend visiting before you head up the stairs to the second floor - it provides necessary context to a lot of what you'll see.
The space is wonderfully ornate, and the entrance fee of RM10 is worth it to look at the main building alone.
Highly recommended!

Entrance fee: 10 RM
It’s an interesting place to learn how a clan lived 100 years ago in Georgetown and learn some history of the town. The main building is gorgeous, the ceiling, the pillars, the walls, everything is decorated in some way or another.
I recommend you to visit the buildings first and then the museum as the last one assumes that you already saw the building.
The only thing I really dislike was that the patio of this place is occupied as parking (at least when we were there) It cost nothing to not park in front of your beautiful building.

Beautiful very ornate temple built in 1906 by the very wealthy Khoo clan.It is the largest Hokkien clan house in Malaysia. They also built a private opera house in front of the house.

This feels like a stroll in one of the ancient mansion only to be found in China. It is well kept and full of stories. The craft arts on the roof, wall, door and windows show the status of the family and wealth.
Entrance fee is RM10. It's definitely worth more than what you've paid.

A beautiful Chinese temple just off Armenian street. We walked past the entrance initially as the temple is not visible from the street.
The temple is beautiful and the decoration is incredibly intricate. There is a museum on the lower floor detailing the history of the building and the clan which added to our experience a lot.

Fascinating insights into Chinese immigration and clans in Georgetown. Beautiful temple opposite stage, surrounded by clan residences . Excellent museum underneath. Worth at least an hour to take in the museum (suggest visit firstbto get best understanding of history and construction of the temple and surrounds).

This place was not easy to find, no clear signs as it was located inside an alley. I had to ask several people beforehand. The building is majestic, the craftsmanship is really detailed and beautiful. It is well maintained, organized and clean too, much better than other tourist designations in Penang.
Am glad to be here during my short stay.

15RM pp. It’s a Chinese clan temple. In my opinion it’s not as beautiful as other temples in Malaysia like the Buddhist ones in Ipoh. So no big statues but the carvings and the decorations are very nice. I think that $3 is a bit too much but I didn’t regret spending them to see the temple.

This is a well-preserved, historically important monument that is still being used today.
One of the oldest clan house in Penang and South East Asia, this is a truly magnificent piece of architecture and design dated more than a century ago.
Good place to visit with family too!

This place is beautiful! Superb. So rich in culture and delicate architecture. The silence is priceless! Despite the outside trafic is bad and noisy. Inside those walls, barely hear anything except birds sounds. Inner peace at its best! Rm15 per person entry. Closes at 5pm.

A bit hard to find. You have to go from Cannon street to get in. Entrance is 15 RM per person which is okay considering how nicely renovated the building is and how good the museum underneath is. Worth a visit if you are in the city center.

The Pinang Peranakan Mansion is a heritage house that was converted into a museum in the early 1900s. It is full of antiques and artifacts from wealthy Chinese-born merchant Kapitan Chung Keng Kwee. The mansion has an eclectic East-meets-West charm and it is easy to spend hours exploring its rooms.
It is such a beautiful place jam packed with so much history. The mansion is so huge, you would definitely need to take your time to explore. Bonus: there is a souvenir shop tucked in the back of the mansion.
The staff was very friendly and gave us a free short tour of the mansion before we began exploring. The antiques and furniture were well maintained. There are many helpful info boards all around, you just have to keep your eyes out for it. The restoration of the building was done fantastically, making the mansion come to life

I highly recommend it to those traveling to Georgetown. You should never miss this attraction.
Entrance fee is affordable at RM20 per adult and totally worth the price. We visited at 10am during a public holiday and just in time for a mandarin tour at 10.30am which is very informative.
The mansion is so large that it is hardly noticeable from the outside, and I might have missed some areas without a guided tour. In addition, there are many antiques that are meticulously displayed.
I really appreciate the effort of the current owner to preserve this historical and cultural heritage, and presented to the public.

The Peranakan Mansion was full of history and you can feel it once you step into the place. We went for a guided English tour where the guide told us about the rich story behind this place.
You can easily immerse yourself here for hours, the mansion is huge. You need to take off your shoes for the 2nd floor so I would recommend wearing socks.

Beautiful and well-preserved old architecture and furniture. I didn't join the guided tour which happens at certain time slots.
I brought my grandparents here and they love it. So many rooms and things to marvel at. Lots of places to rest and sit. Photo spots at every corner.
The gift shop in the museum is lovely as well.
We visited right when the museum opened at 10am and did not need to queue to enter.

Beautiful space - breath-taking and a real joy to visit.
The RM20 entry fee is well worth it - it's beautifully maintained and a delight to wander in.

Highly recommend a visit to this mansion and join a group with a guide in the museum that is included in the entrance ticket available in Mandarin and English. So rich in history and also gives a good visual representation of what it was like in Penang in the past. The links with China and also England, and also trade with European nations are seen in the objects and design of the mansion. Good to go a little earlier in the day as after the guided tour, there’s time to go around to take more photos and have a closer look at the extensive collections of antiques that tell their stories.

Beautiful mansion with a lot of interesting artifacts and a hearty guide (we had an elderly gentleman) who really has pride and insight into the rich memory of the place.
Also guests are allowed to touch almost everything and sit on all antique chairs and sofas, which brings a live spirit to the music rather than a stale atmosphere of dust of usual museums.
Great dive into history of local populace and their adventures!

The owner did a good job at refurbishing and preserving a piece of important history ! The collection was amazing.
I’m really glad that I visited this place, as I finally got to see how it looks inside of a heritage building. I’m still in awe of how rich the Peranakan culture is (and also how loaded someone could be). Throughout the guided tour, it’s apparent that some riches are just unattainable 😂 Out of reach for peasants like us…
Mr. Stanley was an amazing guide to us - an amazing storyteller. The storytelling was so vivid that you’ll feel as if you’ve travelled time. I’m pretty sure he’d repeated it so many times but his enthusiasm was palpable - through the clap of his hands.
Loved it. Highly recommend.

The tour guide in English was so nice and funny! Sometimes, the accent was difficult to follow as he was wearing a face cover/mask. The house is huge and lots to explore in one hour.
Definitely recommend doing the free tour. Otherwise, it's hard to appreciate!
What I liked most is the fact that you can sit and touch almost everything, unlike other museums.
You can also go in and out as you wish all day.
I highly recommend visiting.
Bonus points as King Charles and Queen Consort Camila visited a few years ago, and they also do movie scenes there like Crazy Rich Asians!

Our tour guide was a very funny Chinese gentleman who took his time to explain to us the history of the mansion in an interesting way and show us every single room. The mansion has many collectibles and rare artifacts from over 200 years ago, some of them are considered priceless.

I think it's fairly an old hotel from the way it looks inside. Neat and tidy though. All amenities are available and the standard room is a good sized one.
It's centrally located and near a shopping mall. There is also a moderate sized swimming pool and gym. Good for a family stay. There are many small departmental stores nearby so it's convenient if u need any quick eats or drinks.
Lots of street foods just a few minutes walk away. The front desk staff are very courteous and there is also a large spacious cafe in the lobby area. Would love to come back again.

English guide tour started at 130pm on a Monday when I visited, but I think honestly that you could show up anytime and there will be a tour you can catch with just a bit of a wait. There is an upstairs section where no shoes are allowed which isn’t covered by the tour, so that could be a good way to fill time.
Bring cash to pay for your ticket (25 ringgit) if you’re in a small group. I did see card payment accepted but for a tour group of 17 people.
If the blue mansion is the immaculately adorned Nyonya without a single hair out of place, this is the fun sister with a reputation for the best gossip. Walking through this place felt like visiting family. If you need to sit for a break, I recommend the jewelry section as it’s one of the few air conditioned spots.

The mansion has least view from outside. But within ,it has some exquisite collections of the royal family holdings. The place is well maintained and beautifully arranged. There is an entrance fee of RM 50, but there is lots to see and you can spend around 1 hr seeing the displays. At 1.30pm,there is a guide tour also
.The staffs are helpful and there are lots of photogenic items. Inhouse stores are also there for buying souvenirs

It's a really historical mansion, with many interesting things to know about! However the ventilation situation really isn't the best... Yes there are standing fans to help blow air, but in most of the mansion, it's really hot and not a lot of fresh air flowing in. Also you need to take off your shoes if you want to explore up to the 2nd level as well (but the things are really interesting!) there's also a tour where your tour guide will tell you more information about the mansion.

Pinang Peranakan Mansion: A Glimpse into the Past, But Not Without Quirks
The Pinang Peranakan Mansion offers a fascinating glimpse into the rich heritage of Penang's Peranakan culture. The 45-minute guided tour, led by an excellent, comedic guide (kudos to them!), was informative and engaging, bringing the history of the mansion and its inhabitants to life.
However, the experience is a bit uneven. The mansion itself boasts some truly stunning rooms, showcasing exquisite Peranakan furniture, intricate tilework, and beautiful textiles. These sections truly transport you back in time.
On the other hand, some rooms felt a bit average, with displays that weren't quite as captivating.
Another curious feature is the rather large on-site restaurant. While it might be convenient for grabbing a bite after the tour, its presence felt a bit out of place nestled within the historic mansion.
The gift shop also left me scratching my head. While Peranakan souvenirs are expected, the inclusion of generic items like Marvel character keychains felt jarringly out of place.
Customer Service is not their greatest strength. Even when buying tickets. They’re reluctant to accept card payments. Was told originally ‘Cash Only’ and has to be more than 100 Ringgit, which doesn’t make any sense. Eventually a card reader is shown and card payments are accepted, when I’d just paid 50 Ringgit. The person selling tickets also has a negative attitude and was very unprofessional. There’s also the slight issue of the sticker to wear to show you’ve paid for your ticket. I told them I’ll place the sticker, where I want it to be, not to be dictated.
You have time slots for either an English or Chinese tour guide.
Overall, the Pinang Peranakan Mansion is worth a visit, especially if you're interested in Penang's cultural heritage. Just be prepared for a mixed bag – breathtaking rooms and historical insights alongside some slightly odd additions.
Getting there is easy. You can hail a Grab taxi or, if you're feeling adventurous and the Penang heat isn't too oppressive, it's definitely walkable.

Very informative FREE guided tour (Thanks to the very knowledgeable tour guide - Stanley)
We lean so much about the Peranakan culture.
Well preserved and maintain mansion.
It’s worth visiting if you’re in George Town.
At the time of visiting, entrance fee is RM 25.

Very beautiful!
They have english/chinese tours every 30 minutes (though the chinese tours are only every hour or so, I believe). If you're bilingual, I recommend the Chinese tour because it's more in-depth, at least based on what I overheard. Though the English guide is also very friendly, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable.

An opulent, well-maintained and magnificent looking Peranakan house, both exterior and interior, with history and heritage. Many interesting items on display. There are guided tours conducted in English or Mandarin during certain time slots. When I went there, there were many visitors but not much of a queue. Staff are welcoming and friendly.

This is one of the must visit places when in Penang.
It's a historical house that a rich Chinese businessman had built in the late 1800s early 1900s.
The businessman was so rich that he also built a Chinese Temple next door, as well as a separate museum, with a dining room and kitchen buildings at the rear.
A lovely mansion that is well furnished with beautiful furnishings, and easily takes you back to yesteryear.
The Temple, museum and the kitchen are also worth visiting and are all included in the one entry price of 25RM as at Oct 2023.
I visited during the off-peak season and it was somewhat busy, but in peak season it could possibly be crowded.
The buildings are air-conditioned and this makes for an excellent atmosphere and encourages taking the time to view all that is on display. Allow between 1-3 hours to see everything depending on how much time you wish to spend taking in the great experience and looking at all the wonderful features, details and displays.
The history of how he made his fortune, including tin mining, is also interesting and worth reading about.
Excellent attraction. Enjoy.

Worthwhile visit if you're in Penang and can spend a few hours wandering around the museum. Found it really interesting to see how the rich Chinese lived during the time.

Cheong Fatt Tze, The Blue Mansion is a charming property that offers classic rooms and suites, some of which feature plunge pools. It is known for its fusion restaurant and elegant decor, featuring an exquisite mix of antiques and art deco furniture. Situated in the historic center of George Town, it is a must-see landmark in the area. The neighborhood surrounding it is filled with colonial and Chinese heritage buildings, atmospheric temples, and narrow streets.
I love this place. An Elegant and historical mansion with full of details. Well maintained. Very cosy room, love the fact they use name instead of room number! Good location. Good breakfast. Friendly and very helpful staff. Couldn't recommend a better place to stay in Georgetown, I will definitely stay there next time.

This was our first trip to Malaysia. We were especially impressed by people serving us during our stay. There was no feeling of a "rush hour" although everything functioned well. We also enjoyed a very airy room - the ceiling was high up! The leader of a guided tour in the mansion was a real expert. Maybe we even missed something because we do not know a Chinese culture so well. Food in the Indigo restaurant was overall very tasty and well prepared, some combinations, however not to my taste.

I liked the vibe of the town house we stayed at despite it being a drive away from the blue mansion itself. It was a unique experience and would recommend to anyone who wants a genuine feel of the wonderful George Town. The reason I'm giving this accommodation a five is because I was infuriated on the very last day when the iron provided by the hotel melted blue paint or plastic, very fitting, on the collar of my brand new shirt that I was trying to iron and when I repeatedly tried to call reception to demand it be dry cleaned immediately I couldn't get through and when I eventually did many hours later, they told me laundry was closed for the day and that it would need to be taken care of the next day. I was checking out the next day so that was useless.

The blue color of the mansion stood out among the buildings on the street and I was amazed by the majestic architecture of this ancient place.
They have a guided tour at certain times of the day and you have to pay for it, which kind of forcing visitors to pay just to enter even though I didn’t want the tour and just wanted to have a look and take photos of the place. I guess this is another way the place wants to generate more profits even though the place itself is a hotel.
I was impressed by how they detailed the history of the owner of the place and the interior decor. I furthered learned that this place has been a popular place for movie shootings as well, the known one was Crazy Rich Asians.
I’d love to stay here for a few nights one day just to enjoy and experience a stay at an ancient mansion.

We have long been fans of the Blue Mansion. It is beautiful, distinctive, and richly filled with history. This history includes our own - we chose to have our wedding dinner here about a decade ago (lovely!). Our most recent visit for high tea was brightened by one of their excellent staff members, Selva, who took a number of skillful photos of us with our iPhone. We will cherish those photos and look forward to our next visit to the Blue Mansion.

What a seemless check-in experience. Staff was friendly and efficient. Right from the entrance, the staff came to get the bags. Check in staff was all smiles and made the process quick and easy. Next day's breakfast was also made to make it convenient.
Rooms are spacious, clean and our room had access to the pool too from the room. Family friendly. Shower room was clean and well equipped with all your needs.

Beautiful architecture and pleasant stay - to stay here is a bit like staying in a museum. High ceilings and antique furniture. As there are many original features, expects some quirks.
The courtyards are lovely for relaxing in with a cool drink and a book. As is the swimming pool area. Staff were efficient and helpful. Great to see drinking water in glass instead of plastic bottles. Likewise, I appreciated the full size toiletries instead of the plastic minis. There’s a lovely friendly cat here too!

From the moment we arrived, we felt cared for by the staff at The Blue Mansion! They brought us tea, assisted with luggage, had our room prepared with some lovely surprises for our anniversary, and gave us a drink ticket to use at the bar to celebrate. The property is beautiful and wonderfully kept. We enjoyed the museum aspects of the house and the fact that each room feels like a museum. The staff were so helpful with recommendations of where to go around Penang and were always warm and welcoming. In the evening on our first night at the Mansion, they brought us some lovely desserts. They really made our stay feel special and it is something we will remember for many years to come!

managed to join the guided tour today and it was an amazing, eye-opening experience! honestly, i only expected to see a very blue building, but left with so much more than that!
catch the 11am Friday tours if you can. our guide (sorry I forgot her name!) said she only does this slot weekly. she and her husband are responsible for the restoration of the Blue Mansion and you could feel her passion coming through for this project. it really helped make the tour so much more enriching :)

Beautiful building with many lovingly restored details. Nice for a short visit. However, when staying the night beware that the noise from the neighbours at night is extremely loud and makes any sleep before midnight impossible. Most staff was polite but not as friendly as elsewhere. Breakfast was ok.

This mansion is a nice heritage house in Penang. We can learn about the origin story the mansion was built. There are providing tour around the mansion. The view from front and inside the mansion are very nice and full historical.
Especially thanks to the one of crew from this mansion, his name is Shelva. He was help me to take some photos for me. And the result photos are great. Very kind and nice crew to us.

Place considerably well maintained. If you like heritage, this would be a great place to go. Guided tours available with an extension turned into hotel. Has a mini pool. SOP is mediocre. Bed is comfy but floor in lower ground floor is concrete. Not the most comfortable for a hotel room.

Highly recommend Indigo as the perfect venue to host private events. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is relaxing, the interior deco is lovely & the staff are friendly & helpful. Our guests enjoy the event very much! Our stay at Ming Room is equally satisfying. The room is spacious, comfy & very "heritage". And definitely a big thanks to Mr. Daniel who helps to coordinate our private event! It is a pleasant & memorable experience for the both of us~*

the amount of work they’ve put into restoring this place…just…wow. Mom stayed here for a night and said the beds were a little hard, but overall the stay was fantastic. She absolutely loved the staff and made friends with a few folks (pictures below) who she said went above and beyond to make her time incredible.
We went on a tour the next morning and learning about the history of the place makes it even more interesting. Beautiful grounds and in a great location, if you want a unique experience highly recommend!

We had our wedding here last week and we were so impressed by how exceptional all the staff were. They were friendly, attentive, hospitable, and many of our wedding guests were amazed. In the midst of the busyness, they noticed and immediately attended to any of our guests who needed anything.
Jafifah, the hotel manager, was everything we could ever ask for and more. On top of displaying superior professionalism, she went out of her way to make this wedding happen for us and reassured us that we were in good hands every step of the way.
On the day of the wedding, everything was so well-coordinated, from decor setup to the timing of food service of the amazing dinner spread Chef Jack had prepared. She and the staff members of The Blue Mansion worked so harmoniously with all the other vendors, we really could not have asked for more.
We highly recommend The Blue Mansion to anyone who’s considering having their wedding here.

We loved our guided tour! Such a beautiful building with rich history. Our tour guide was insightful and lovely. It was however frustrating that she was rudely interrupted by an outsider tour group multiple times... they shouldn't be allowed to operate while genuine tours are in progress.
Also a shout out to the member of staff who offered to take photos of my family! He really went above and beyond to get the perfect shot!

Availed the 45min-1hr guided tour for 25 RM. It was worth it since the mansion is well preserved, and our guide Alexis is a good speaker. I learned a lot and if I can afford it I would like to try to stay in one of the rooms in the future. Kudos also to the nice and friendly staff 🙂

We thought the mansion was beautiful. However, we had booked a tour with a guide who was very difficult to hear. We were with a very large group. Halfway the tour we decided to leave, since we couldn't hear anything the guide was telling us and we were packed between other people.
Maybe the audio tour is better?

This is a heritage cultural historical building. So there's no words that will be adequate to convey its elegance and feel. I guess this is one of the places that you will just need to come physically to appreciate the building. Came here for dinner so will review the food.
Coming to the food, I must say I enjoyed the simple 4 course dinner. They are all simple, elegant and tasty dishes. They started with capellini which came lightly flavoured but delicious when lightly dabbed with the dashi foam. The soup meanwhile had a lighter cauliflower taste than I expected but the scallop was perfectly seared. As for the snapper, even though I found the fish a tad dry, the combination of taste and texture of the accompanying parts were done nicely. The conclusion dessert brought a good end to the meal. A bit heavier than I expected but I can't fault it's deliciousness.

Kek Lok Si Temple, located on the White Crane Mountain in Penang, Malaysia, is the largest Chinese Buddhist temple in the country. Built in 1889, it showcases a blend of architectural styles from China, Thailand, and Myanmar. The temple complex is divided into lower, middle, and hilltop sections featuring intricate decor and numerous Buddha images. Visitors can explore various religious and cultural structures as well as beautifully landscaped gardens.
One of the largest and yet well maintained Buddhist temples in Malaysia. The temple complex has several prayer halls alongside gardens, and of course the famous statue of Guanyin.
While the temple has excellent facilities to ferry visitors from one site to another, it is recommended to walk around and explore instead. The temple has a rich history that must be experienced first hand.

Great and really beautiful temple. All entrance is free. You only need to pay for parking and if you want to use the cable cars. But everything is also walkable and there is a bus station close.
The view to the city is also worth the little hike.
The big statue is really big and tall. Which makes it hard to see it fully close as the platform is to small in ratio to the height of the statue.
To see all plan around 2 hours.
Down besides the first car park is a turtle pond.

Beautiful temple worth visiting and looking around. There are multiple levels and you can hike up I think or your can pay at each stage for a round trip ticket.
You pay at each station. You can't buy everything in advance. I suggest going to the top as fast as possible then working your way down.
There's a lot to see and a lot of extra stuff to do for blessings and merit driven offerings.
Just go. It's beautiful.
Scott Wilson — Google review
Beautiful temple. Worth visiting. Free of charge, except for the pagoda where you have to pay RM2 (worth it).
You don't need to take the cable car except for when you want to go to the statue. Otherwise you're fine of just walking :).
Lilly Schutz — Google review
Recommend to visit on morning or evening, if you're coming when night, it's going to be a very different situation. First of all, parking. The parking will be very super difficult to be found , if you are unlucky you might find no parking, it's almost impossible to park there without giving those Indian money.( Cost around rm3-10)
Second, prepare water if you want to visit to the guanyin temple, you might to walk for a 15 minute to reach there, if you reach there when night, you need to pay extra in order to visit inside , but there's also a cable car service there, you can try it if you wish to.
However, apparently Malaysia are known for its heartwarming scorching Weather, so please choose a perfect time to visit if you don't wish to have a sunburnt. Recommend 6-7pm

Amazing temple with lovely architecture and beautiful views! Make sure you take the time to visit the pagoda! It's 2RM pp and well worth it. They also had stunning decorations up for Chinese New Year.

Info: If you want to reach the statue, take the elevator up and down. Otherwise, you have to follow a steep road with no pedestrian path, walking out and around the whole temple area. 6 RM (03/24) is a fair price for the short cable car ride.
Otherwise, I recommend going to the pagoda with its 7 levels. Beautiful view and nice garden around. Admission is 2 RM.
The whole temple is really worth seeing and was a big highlight of our 2 weeks in Malaysia.

One of the most recognized Chinese temple in Malaysia. Its a good picnic spot for families. The deities are huge and amazing. Parking is bit of a challenge on the peak days. Many days lower ground parking is closed for public. If anyone wants, they can visit air hitam dam which is 2 kms ahead of the temple.

Kek Lok Si is a nice and impressive temple that is definitely worth a visit.
The temple consists of several layers and is very easy to reach with small elevators (paid).
There are men who drive back and forth with electric vans.
In the high season I wonder if it is worth visiting the temple, we were there outside the main season and it was already a long wait for the elevators.
Once at the top you have a beautiful view of the city and there are ponds with dozens (perhaps hundreds) of turtles to see.

The architecture of the top pagoda is just brilliant. If you don't not wish to take stairs, the cable car rides are available 16ringgit per adults. There are some maintenance maybe required maybe due to 2 years of covid. Still a must go place if you visit penang.

The most beautiful and colorful Buddhist temple I have ever seen in Malaysia. It is located on a hill so the views from there are spectacular. It is huge inside with so many golden statues that will leave you breathless. There's a giant Buddha on top of the hill that you need to take a funicular for, it's not necessary in my own opinion, since the temple has already much to offer. Must visit if you are in Penang, you can combine it in one trip with the hill

Beautiful temple on top of a hill. We had our own car so only a few minutes ride from the main town. Not many people were there since it was a weekday but the view from the top was spectacular. Am sure it's much better in the night.

Unusual temple for me anyway. Built on a hill with a huge standing buddha. A must see. Nice view of part of the City too. 204 bus from George Town. Seems to run regularly. Lots of places buy drinks and nibbles. Also, a fanicular train can take you up to the temple.

The view outside the temple hill was stunning. However, our visit was abruptly cut short when one of the unpleasant employees told us to leave unless we paid for the visit in the temple. He could have explained it respectfully, and we would have likely continued with the visit. After experiencing such attitude we departed quickly without exploring further.

Energetic visitors can climb stairways to top of the pagoda for beautiful views of the temple complex and also Georgetown.
Good selection of shops for local delicacies and also tourist souvenirs.

The place is located over a hilltop with a beautiful view. The statue of Buddha is really huge a magnificent sight. The temple nearby, also is peaceful. There are lifts that carry you to the top for RM16 ( both ways),else walking can also be considered. The surroundings are all beautifully maintained and the fish and tortoise ponds , fountain are really nice. Better to come when the sun is low ,else the heat can be unbearable. The view of the Penang city can be seen from above

Beautiful place.. if you taking a grab. The pickup place is all the down . You will need to take a buggy cart rm2.00 to the second level and then cable cart rm3.00 to the bottom. There are various charges to get into different sections of the temple. Overall it's great experience. Highly recommended

This temple is breathtaking and historical. Situated on the hills of Penang.
The intricate architecture, adorned with vibrant colors and intricate details.
The temple area features a series of prayer halls, pagodas, and landscaped gardens. Visitors may take the inclined lift or stairs to reach the temple. The atmosphere is serene and spiritual, with the sound of bells and the scent of incense permeating the air.
The Pagoda of Ten Thousand Buddhas is mesmerizing, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
As you explore the temple's various levels, you'll find a harmonious blend of Buddhist influences from different cultures. The towering statue of the Goddess of Mercy (Kuan Yin) is particularly impressive.
It's not only a place of worship but also a cultural attraction.
The Kek Lok Si Temple is a must-visit destination that promises an unforgettable experience.

Large structure of temples on the mountains. Great views from the top. Beautiful pagodas, Buddha halls.
The entrance to the tram service is not very clean, and it is confusing if the service is available. They should have clear signs. One you go up to station 2, to go up further, have to pay at each step, super annoying.

The largest Buddhist temple in Malaysia. Built 1890-1930. Take a picture of the seven-story 30m (98ft) high pagoda of Ten Thousand Buddhas. It combines a Chinese octagonal base, Thai middle tier and a Burmese crown.
Don't forget to take a funicular ride to the magnificent Guanyin broze statue (36.57m/230ft.) Ringgit and cash only. We did manager to pay in $ after much of deliberation.
A must see.

A must see (though not in the hot sun...)! Be careful when driving all the way up as it is easy to miss the turn left into the temple at the highest tier. A $3 parking fee is needed before you can proceed further in.
The photos don't do justice to the majesty of the statues. If you would like to, different types of prayers can be offered at the main prayer hall . No comments about other parts of the temple at the middle or lower tier as we just wanted to visit the guanying statue.

My first visit to this temple in day and night on the same day. It is so astonishing looking at the lights that lit up the whole temple. It is such a beauty in the night. I am a visitor and was told that the temple was lit up during this Lunar new year 2024. I am so lucky to catch the view of this beauty. My holiday here is fruitful so far. Would recommend people to pay a visit during the day though you may not have the opportunity to see the night lights.

The Kek Lok Si Temple was definitely a highlight of my trip to Penang! It's massive and full of incredible details - colorful statues, intricate carvings, and beautiful pagodas.
It's a great place to wander around, take photos, and learn a bit about Buddhism. We saw people praying and offering incense, which added to the cultural experience. There's even a pagoda with ten thousand Buddhas - it's quite a sight! Beware though, some of the stairs can be steep, so wear comfortable shoes. Overall, a must-visit for any tourist in Penang!

Beautiful temple complex and views noting that I found the views of the island/city from the top of the main funicular ride to the Habitat to be better.
I am going to focus in funicular as I found the experience confusing.
You can buy a one way or return ticket at the base of the temple for the funicular. In 2024 one way was 8RM. Keep your ticket hand as you have to show it twice on the way up. The ticket covers a short funicular ride (so wait was less than 5 minutes) which takes you to a buggy that drive you up the hill a ways to a large gift shop. Walk through this to the left to get on another funicular which takes you the rest of the way to the temple. All of this is included on the one ticket. Also- you need to push the buttons in both funiculars yourself to go up/to the next level.

The place is huge and amazing! Could have more signs to help finding all the spots (I went straight to the top by lift and almost lost the main temple! So take your time. My advice is: to go up first taking the lifts and then go down walking to explore all the rest of the temple. You need to pay 2RM to see the main pagoda but it is worth it. Outside, next to the entrance, there is a lake full of turtles).

Majestic temple with many statues and deep history. Bronze GuanYin statue was spectacular too.
Spend almost 2 hours exploring the compund, including climbing up the pagoda(some levels are under renovation/repairs). View at the top was magnificent.

The temple complex included several temples on the hillside. You can reach the top temple using an elevator or by climbing the stairs. It may be a bit tiring, but it's definitely worth it because the view is breathtaking. It was one of the most stunning places I visited in Malaysia. The most beautiful place in jord town and probably in the whole of Penang. Definitely a must visit for anyone who is in the area.
Entrance is free, parking is charged.
And don't forget to go up the road (or take the cable car) and see the giant statue of the goddess.
Penang Hill is a tourist attraction in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia which offers panoramic views of the city below. The mountain peak is also home to colonial-era hotels and bungalows, a suspended walkway canopy walk called The Habitat, a mosque and a Hindu temple. Penang Hill is also close to the Kek Lok Si Temple, within 3 km of its vicinity.
I consider Penang hill as the icon of Penang. As a tourist you must visit it otherwise don't come to Penang ^_^. you will be lucky if visit it in normal days (not public holidays or weekend) because you have to wait in long queues for more than hour to get into the train.
Up there, the view is charming, pure air, and lots of odd plants you can see. if you like hiking, this is the ideal place to enjoy the amazing nature. otherwise, you can get into a car against 5-10 RM.
You can enjoy many activities there such as purchasing love locks and write your name with your lover then lock it on a fence. also there is Owl museum, some shops and restaurants.

It’s so kitschy and so touristy but this is one way to enjoy the overview of Georgetown. Temperatures here are also a delightful treat after the humidity of the lowlands. The funicular train also adds to the excitement of ascending and descending this place.

Went in at 9am in the morning on Friday, there was a small crowd waiting for the rail already.
Managed to get on the second rail, and the ride up took <5minutes.
There weren’t many people in the morning, thus, quite enjoyable to sightsee.
It got crowded at 12+pm, and we were about to leave… The queue for the rail got crowded.!
Good to go in the morning to avoid the crowd!

Super touristy place to visit but worth doing if you're here in Penang. I recommend the pass otherwise you'll be waiting in line a long time to go up OR down. The extra 10 ringgit allows you to skip the line.
If you like to walk, at the top I suggest checking out ask the trails. You can of course walk down the mountain. It takes about 2 hours.
If you don't like walking so much, you can hire a little car to drive you around or to the coffee shop at the end of a road. It comes with a ride back too.
We decided instead to walk back so we could stop and take pictures. Totally worth it.
The earlier you come the better the experience will be. Less lines, less tourists, less heat.

We left our hotel very early in the morning to catch the bus to Penang Hill. It took us about an hour or so. When we arrived we had the option of taking the train or walking. We chose to walk and enjoy the scenery. Personally I underestimated how long it would take us and how far it was but all in all it was great way to spend the day walking up to the hill and checking out different things along the way. We made plenty of stops along the way and took our time. the views were amazing the further you got up the hill. When we reached the top of the hill we walked around the temple and checked out what was around. A lot of things you had to pay for so we just decided to walk around and see what was up there. If you plan to walk up I would defiantly recommend going for when it opens as it's cooler and less humid. Once the sun comes out it gets scorching hot. Once we were finished walking around the top of the hill we decided to walk back down but the other side where there was a garden with lots of birds and many monkeys. The walk down was 7km and all down hill. Our legs were like Jell-O but it was a nice walk.

One of the popular tourist attraction is Penang. Located near Georgetown. Easy to find and public parking available here for a fee. I visited recentlly on a weekend. It was very crowded and waiting time for Furnicular train/Tram was almost more than an hour. Tickets can be bought at the counter for 1 or 2 way to/from the Penang hill. There is a food court up there and also a buggy service for visitors to tour the hill area for a fee. There are attractions such as Tge Habitat, Old and historical buildings, a Coffee shop and a Museum etc. Best thing to witbess is beatifull views of Georgetown and other nearby Islands. Management should take a note that there was no physical distancing in the Furnicular train.

We bought the fast lane tickets for trains. But since the school holidays, many queued. The view was amazing, the food up there was delicious and there are many beautiful views from the top of the hill. But overall, we enjoyed our trip here. Worth every penny. Will definitely be back again.
Haura Liew — Google review
Unfortunately the viewing deck was under construction when I visited. There are some nice spots where you still can enjoy a good view from the hill. If you visit this place during a workday or Sunday there most probably won’t be any queues. If the weather is clear, during sunset the views should be very nice. Also, you can find some very pretty monkeys there. If you are in Penang definitely recommend.

Amazing and unique experience for my entire family. Spent a wonderful time at top most, natural, scenic and historic place of Penang.

We came here on a Monday late morning around 10 am. It was not crowded and brisk getting the standard ticket, and up we go to the top of Penang Hill.
There were quite a lot of tourist attractions at the top of the hill. We choose to do the Curtis Crest Tree Top Walk. It cost around MYR 60 Per Adult. It was a great walk for city folk with nice scenery.
Alternatively, a family of five can hop on bungee ride for MYR 30.
We suggest to avoid weekend and local public holidays as we heard it is usually crowded.

Good site to seeing the landscape of Penang from the hill. Ticket entrance is 30RM for non-Malaysian citizenship (adult). Prepare for the long queue on the weekend.

The train ride was pretty fun. But some great photo spots were closed at that time. Could have been a better experience if it was open...

Enjoyed the view from Penang Hill. We took a car truck up the hill to avoid the weekend rush. It costed us 160 RM to and fro. We had a chill walk at the hill and enjoyed the view and walk. Lot of options to eat and click pictures.

Beautiful. Cable car rate was around 20-25RM, we paid additional entry fee to enter the habitat (opens at 9am). We went early morning so really enjoyed the view and ambience.

A boring place honestly, in the top messy place and nothing to do , there is no activities no something enjoyable! Just messy place, I wish the management to improve it by making some activities and by managing the place and clean it !! To be honest the only amazing things is the tram 🙂, even it was fully of people so you cannot see anything. 😅

Penang has a very good hiking trail. From bottom of the hill to top you need to use about 2-3 hours. You can use the mid station if you feel tired on the halfway. You can buy the return ticket before you start hiking preferably before 830am to get the half price discount. There is also nice food and red bean ice to enjoy on the hill.

Ride the train is fun and 2 way ride cost Rm12 per person, elderly Rm6.
The air up there is cold and comfort. Can ride buggy (max5person) for RM30 if you don’t feel to walk too far.

Excellent place to visit when in Penang, Malaysia.
The funicular train takes us from the bottom of the hill to the top of the hill. It is a very good experience, almost like a roller coaster.
The views from the top of the hill are amazing and the best time to go to this place would be at the time of sunset perhaps.
Plan this one carefully. The tickets, the time of the day, etc.

was really crowded....recommend to buy the Fast Lane ticket esp over the weekend as I suspect it gets really, really crowded then...... we had a great time observing the flora and fauna...... the view of the city from up there....we also loved the cooler air up there .....

Went on a Monday at 8.30 am. It was also during Ramadan. Queue was short at that time. Waited 15 minutes. We got the standard ticket online, didn't pay for the express. Some food and drink stalls at the top station were open as shown in the photo. Drinks about 8 Ringgit each. We asked at the information booth just outside the top station about the places to go and directions cos we couldn't make it out from the map provided. They were helpful. It was reasonably cool in the shade and there was quite a bit of shade along the main 2km path but quite hot in the sun. When we got to the Monkey Cup, we were too tired and hot to walk back uphill. Fortunately, we could take one of the buggys back up for 15 Ringgit. We didn't go into the Habitat.

A great place to overlook the city. Only the queue is crazy. I highly suggest you to just purchase the express ticket. Unfortunately you still have to purchase the entrance ticket for some spots.

Beautiful view and nature once you are up the hill, but here all good things end.
I don’t mind the crowds during holidays if it’s the only time to see something, but some outright bad things are:
1) Waiting- you have to buy a ticket and are told to wait for almost 2 hours to go up the funicular. In reality you spend 2,5+ hours in a queue and waiting.
2) Tickets are sold by “batches” with numbers. Once it’s your batch time, you proceed to the boarding queue. Waiting patiently in line only to be mixed in the end with all other people so that people with batch numbers bought after you end up in front of you instead. For example, our number was 45 but there were 46 and 47 people in front of us.
3) No huts/shelters from the rain. It rains sometimes, hard, and you simply have nowplace to wait it out.
4) Return queue: when you come totally soaked to go down, you are told to wait another 2 hours or buy express lane tickets 3 times more expensive than usual ones.
And in the end, both express and usual waiting people just mix and gash in into the crowded cabins.
All in all, worst mountain funicular organization out of all countries I ever encountered. Langkawi Sky Bridge is a good comparison- same country, much better queqe handling.

Great day out. The vehicular train was a good price and very fun. Amazing views from the top and a good way to spend a few hours. You will queue for a little while for the train up but it's better than walking up 😂

Penang Hill is a great escape from the busy streets of Georgetown. The funicular railway ride to the top is a fun experience in itself, offering stunning views as you climb. Once at the summit, you're rewarded with fresh air, rainforests trails, and a breathtaking panorama of Penang Island. Whether you seek relaxation or light adventure, Penang Hill offers something for everyone. Just beware of potentially long queues, especially during peak hours.

This is a great place to enjoy the cool breeze and beautiful views. I am really enjoyed it. I am followed the tour guide. The tour guide explained the place really well. I am understand everything. When I am entered, the queue was full with people. It was really crowded. I felt very unfair to them because they had to wait. I am waiting for the funicular train to arrive. After a while, the train came. According to the website, the train can transport 800 passengers per hour. The train came up really fast. I could feel the cool breeze hitting me as I stepped out of the train. I am taking some photos. I went to Astaka Bukit Bendera. Taking pictures is my favourite. I went for a ride, up and down, and it was quite chilling. One lesson I learned is don't try to offend, when they take you to the end (I guess the end over there because I saw a coffee shop) they ask you do you want to have coffee here? Say yes if you have time, say no if you don't because they will leave you there. I am having a great time here. Really had a great time. The view is superb. I will come here again alone in the future.

The funicular ride was interesting but make sure you stand closer to a window, so that you won't miss the view! You can get a nice view of the whole city and the sea from the top of the mountain. We also went on a buggy ride. Traveling on holidays will be a bit uncomfortable if you are not the type of person to wait in queues for around 1 - 2 hours.

Apparently, the road uphill is closed for tourist EXCEPT for those who ride pickup van. RM 70 per and van driver very nice tho. Can share with other if want. Still undergoes construction. Very steep at certain corner. Botanical garden closed. Strawberry farm didn't have much attraction. Got cafe, hotel/resort, restaurant and monkey :)

Landscaping 5/5
Room cleanliness 3/5
Toilet cleanliness 1/5
Money is all spent on landscaping but not so much on up keeping.
The landscaping is beautiful. Flowers everywhere with nicely trimmed bushes and trees. Very well done and the exterior of the resort is very well kept.
Room is tidy and pretty clean. Charging points are far from the beds and bedside tables. So bring long charging cables.
Room slippers are nice to wear.
Sewage smell in the toilet is very strong. A ventilator would be good. Some mould on the ceiling.

Went to Mount Jerai during the weekend for a day trip. It is a small resort area 1000m above sea level, its cooling up there. It has a good view from the top on the paddy field in Kedah. There are plenty of flora and fauna in that area for your view. The road is a bit stiff and sloppy and limited parking area at the top, you can either hike up there from bottom which will take about one hour or take shuttle provided by the resort. There is also a cafe serving coffee and pastries and a buffer restaurant. Also available activities are botanical garden, strawberry farm, flying fox and et .

Didn't expect to have such a good experience here. At the mountain top, fresh cool breeze was truly a helpful escape from the hot weather down there. Beautiful arrangements of flower everywhere, with stunning views over the land and sea.
There is a strawberry farm where they serve some strawberry based drinks and dessert (scones, ice ream), and also a dinosaur park (didn't explore it though).
Parking site is available, entrance fee was RM5 per person. You may choose to drive yourself to the top or pay for a ride, they do have vans ready to get you up there. But if you were to drive, make sure your car is in good condition and drive carefully, it could be a little challenging at some corners.

This place is closed right now for visitor. Only allowed for van and visitor who stay at resort. They have construction. I went up and not noticed they put info banner for the closure. Should go up when its open..the scenery is worth and beautiful. Its bit cold up there.

Quite wonderful view of Kedah, make sure come on cloudy day to see the cold cloudy fog atmosfere. Not recommended to come on heavy rain because risk of flooded on the way up. If you dare enough can drive on your car but makesure on manual gear to avoid any problem. You can hired van driver below the mount if hesitated, around RM70-80 per van for two way, up and down. If you came on holiday it is recommended to take van because van can sent you up without queeing at the top entrance due to limited parking for public vehicle. i came on normal day, drive my own car and get parking without problem. parking is charged at RM4 or maybe RM2 per person, not sure.

My nephew decided to show me the top of the 3,993 ft. Mount Jerai, so I accepted the challenges, but wait, we’re not going hiking but driving! We drove up to the top. The charge was less than 10 if you drive your car. My sister came with us to check out the strawberry farm. We were up here for a few hours to see the views and scenery and visit the strawberry farm. The temperature was mild. There’s a cafe for everyone to enjoy but not that big. I noticed a sky cycling connection for those who like to challenge themselves. There’s a glass floor scenic view, but smaller size that could accommodate 10 people at a time. The views from the top were beautiful. I got to see beautiful trees in the area. They keep the place clean and neat for the tourists. I wonder how the night scene is up here; it must be quiet and dark. The only lights are the moon and the street poles that connect the walkway between each cottage. Some walked up Mount Jerai on the same road as the cars. I saw some who walked and some who biked as well. It was fun because I got to watch the monkeys roaming around the road, probably looking for food. Watch out! They’ll come to you if they sense that you’re trying to be friendly with them. Hold your belongings tight. This is what Hubby wants to see but he didn’t make it to this trip. My nephew said will return with Uncle when we return to Malaysia. Overall, the experience was great and recommended for a day trip.

Gunung Jerai, from here can see Pulau Bunting. On top here you can have paddy fields view, sea and clouds. Baru sekarang saya tahu kenapa Kedah kekal sebagai negeri jelapang padi.
I love to drive up to Gunung Jerai especially using manual car (both hand and leg are busy with keep on changing gear) not until encounter with noob or newbie driver that keep on pressing break or purposely drive slow to enjoy scenery. Going down from Gunung Jerai actually quite dangerous yet fun, dangerous because if put free gear, car still can go up to 90km/h and need to keep on pressing break. Fun because you can drift all the way down especially when you play this song 'Tokyo Drift - Teriyaki Boyz', again not until meet those drivers that spoil your fun or potong stim.

Tough climb on a bicycle but well worth it. Lots of great wildlife and views along the way. To climb to the top you need to keep going when you reach the food court (which was all shut down in April 2023) and take the left fork. When you get to the parking for Padang Tok Sheikh & Batu Shaff don’t continue. The road reaches 19% in the last section and you’re met with a locked security gate!

One of the ten most beautiful mosques in the world! Am I not proud being in this architectural masterpiece?
It is a small mosque by today's standard. It has a very limited space as its main prayer hall. But the Masjid Zahir is an attraction to visitors and architecture students alike. Little has changed over the years and we prefer it that way. And the Kedah State government has done a good job maintaining the mosque and keeping its appearance the same. Majestic and Magnificient!

Jalan Kampung Perak, Bandar Alor Setar, 05150 Alor Setar, Kedah, Malaysia
Alor Setar Tower is a remarkable structure featuring a revolving restaurant, observation deck and gift shop that offers stunning panoramic views of the city. Visitors have the option to enjoy the observation deck which provides an 88 meter height view of Alor Setar's scenery at a reasonable price compared to the exclusive Open Deck sky box. The observation deck offers an open space with continuous breeze and old binoculars available for use.
A tower in city. Offering a great view of the city, the paddy fields, sea & mountains. Getting up there doesn't take long to reach the open deck which is 105m in height as lifts are available. And some coffee at the rotating restaurant will be great before you head down.
Mahinder Singh Jit Singh — Google review
Visited the observation deck(RM6/Adult) instead of the much expensive Open Deck sky box (RM24/Adult). I think it is more than enough to view the Alor Setar's scenery from there at 88 meter height unless you want to have some portraits shooting. The observation deck is actually not an enclosed space so you can feel the continuous breeze up there. The binoculars seem old as the lens appeared yellow when looking into it.

Tower View = 2 ⭐️
Photobooth = 0 ⭐️
Price = Overprice. RM25 per adult (skyview), RM7 observation deck.
I gave it 2 stars just for the view. Anything else, not to the standard for the price tag. For skyview (priced RM25), it's not worth it. For two observation deck (or box) with glass and birdview of Alor Setar, it was overpriced. Nothing else was offered besides the view. As for the photobooth, this one was a major dissappointment. They took photos with a green screen background and then they printed an edited version of (what I could interpreted) Microsoft Word / Powerpoint edit-style things. Please train your editors better, or better; just ditch the green screen and take the photo inside the glass observation box. That'll more worth for the price of RM30 for 1 picture (or RM60 for the whole 3 set of low-skilled edited picture).

2- Public Toilets are located beside the Coffee Shop (Laman Kopi), facilities are in good condition
For Locals:

ASEAN Night Bazaar Hatyai is a bustling covered market that attracts both locals and tourists, offering a wide array of clothing, souvenirs, and classic Thai dishes. Spread over two floors, this night market is particularly popular among Muslim travelers. The ground floor features stalls selling affordable clothes, shoes, watches, and beauty products like facial masks with samples for testing. While prices may be higher compared to other markets in the area, visitors can still try their hand at bargaining.
Salam sejahtera... greetings.
Shopping haven....lots of varieties...
Sellers were very friendly and nice...
Mostly fixed price but as usual bargaining can be done..
Place is very well maintained....organize too ...
Second floor is food section....great.
A place to visit in hatyai ...must go.

I would say it's a night market for tourist. The stuff are sold in higher prices here compare to Greenway. Some of the items you can find are like shirts, pants, blouse, skirts, bags, perfumes and so on. The prices you can try bargain but they wont put it down that much. There is one office clothes shop that are selling quite a good quality clothes along the 3rd or 4th lane at the front. Bought a pants there, quite a reasonable price and the quality are like Voir Executive. The food are generally cheap. Average of 50-100 Baht depends on what you have. The food court is very muslim friendly and we love the food, my family came twice just to have the oysters. We tried most of the food here. Overall I suggest to eat here but shop at Greenway night market.

Quite a big night market with many clothing stores at the ground floor. It seems like a popular place for the locals.
There’s a small area at the 2nd floor selling food. There are many stores selling Muslim food too.
Toilet is very clean.
Nice place for window shopping and get some local experiences.

LOTS OF FOOD CHOICES HERE! Some of the sellers can speak Malay so you don't really have language barrier problem here. Variety of thai foods, pretty trendy clothes and many more. It's like a morning market like your usual pasar but with more trendy things for youngsters

There are level 1 for shopping for clothes & souvenirs, while level 2 is mainly for food. There is also a space to chill at level 1.
The food in Thailand will never be a disappointment & price point will always be very affordable. Please make sure to visit here if you come to Hatyai.
Level 1 is for shopping, it’s quite a big place I had not have the chance to walk full circle as it was big, but if you plan to, please come earlier.

It was friday afternoon. Not many patrons. I head straight to the food section on the upper deck. You'll be spoiled with many choices. Mostly halal food. Most are okay, some just a bunch of processed food with spicy gravy. The clothes section on the lower deck exhibits almost the same generic products made in China mostly. Fake, knocked off items such as football jerseys from European big league clubs. Many souvenirs, fridge magnets and such. You know, the usual stuff for tourists.

I came here at night for dinner. Lots of food stalls upstairs. There are not enough places to eat, so many people are struggling to find tables to sit on. The food is very tasty. I get myself daging salai and sup ekor. Feels like I cannot get them at other places.
Downstairs are places to shop for clothes, bags, souvenirs. Also there is a money exchanger at the front

It's a 2 story old building located near Hatyai Central Mall. Many Thai delicacies & affordable prices. The walking path is very narrow & very crowded, especially at night. Avoid bringing too many valuable here. Air is stuffy & toilet not clean. It's best to come with tuk tuk or Grab. If you like cheap local clothings & imitation goods, many varieties to choose from & need to haggle price.

Visited to get a quick dinner. Found a very delicious ayam merah stall. The chickens are very tender and juicy. Slightly sweet flavoured, and matched very well with the green noodles or the rice. 50-60 baht each are enough to fill my stomach.
Seats are full but you can find empty seat if you roam around.
Make sure to throw the paper plates and cups in the prepared bins.

Cheap place to buy a souvenir rather than Kaysorn or Nora Plaza. Trust me, you won't regret it if you compare these 3 shops. It's a really good bargain to buy a souvenir to bring to Malaysia. The food shop on the 1st floor is also best. There are a variety of local dishes that you can try.

Food stalls, an aviary & a pavilion on a pond are installed amid sculpture & flower gardens.
Sadly the aviary is now closed, but this very big park is still a magnificent place, with gorgeous viewpoints and lots of rare trees. The cable-car might be fun, but it's 100 for Thais and 200 for foreigners. I very much resent the blatant xenophobia of this policy so I didn't try it. Grow up, Thailand.

Back here after one year. Great view point overlooking entire hat yai. Wheelchair accessible - you can drive directly up right to the foot of the Buddha statue, just be considerate and park along the side so as to not block anything.
You can pay for prayers or just sit here to enjoy the view. The cafe seems closed.

Worth to visit if you keen doing some outdoor activities. Walked around 40 mins from the other route to get there and luckily it was welcomed by great sunset. We can also see entire city from above, Great Mosque of Songkhla, The Big Lake of Songkhla, and 180 degrees view of mountainous range which surround Hat Yai city. Love the Buddha statue and others religious marks there.

I can say it's the best place if you'd like some relaxing & peaceful moments and a very nice view of the town from the hilltop. I would really recommend this place to everyone and definitely will come here again. A must go to place in your list and it's quite a beautiful place for a religious spot. Besides that, it's also the best photography spot.

Worth visiting attraction in Hatyai, approximately to stay for 2 to 3 hours. It has few temples which you can visit on the way down the hill and also the hill view of overall part of Hatyai. Cable car is available but only able to reach 2 temples. Better to take tuk tuk where you are able to stop each and every spot.

The beautiful place with very large area. U can ride cable car for 200 baht. Or take picture of many statue in this area. Its very large. Make sure to explore all of them. Its on the uphill so there's only tuktuk or grab for public transportation.

The very beautiful park with a nice pond at the bottom where a lot of families and friends picnic at. Some small stores around selling some food and activities to do at the open space.
You can catch a ride from the bottom (yellow truck) at only 20 baht per person. It will send you to the top where the tall buddha is. You can walk around and see the rest of the areas by walking.
Very nice and relaxing and authentic place.

This park is masive and it consists of 3 sightseeing temples. From downhill on the way up, will reached the majestic Guan Yin Buddha and Guan Gong statue. On the way up will reached the 2nd sightseeing which is the standing Buddha. From here the view from the top is really amazing. To the top is the 4 Face Buddha. Cable car service is available.

I'll never travel to Ao Nang without this trip planner again
Nature reserve in forested mountains, centered on a waterfall with viewpoints & a pool for swimming.
Amazing waterfall. Really impressive, i think one of the best i have ever been in Thailand.
Couldn't reach the 5-6-7 floors, the trail was not clear and in bad conditions. But from 3-4 you have a great view over the area.
2Price Thailand obviously - it's 10 times actually, 200 b fee for foreigners and for Thais 20.. worth it

A good getaway from the city; super refreshing experience of being surrounded by nature. We enjoyed the view and the occasional sightings of birds.
Prices start at 550THB for an hour per boat. Recommend to go for an hour only as boat do not have backrest thus not exactly the most comfortable; motor also gets a little loud/annoying after awhile.
Timing wise, anytime from 530-630 will be ideal. Sun gets hot from 845am onwards, sunblock, cap & sunglasses will come in handy.

Foreigner fee was 200 vs local which was 30, however the signs or information did not have an English translation.
Hike directions/trails to waterfalls were fine up till level 5, after which the trail was too hard to notice or not maintained. Hope that the cadres would start clearing the trail to give people a shot to level 7.
Be properly dressed for this, and pack water. Beyond level 2 check yourself for leeches every 5 mins.
If you are looking only for a waterfall to dip in, there should be more further down the road which would not require an entrance fee.
Leon Lin — Google review
The waterfall is amazing, water so clean and refreshing. Fishes and wildlife in abundance (insects, monkey and Giant lizard/komodo?). Not many mosquitoes but still good to be prepared. We could only make it up to level 3 but we hear level 7 has the best view. Do come prepared for 3-4hrs hike to complete the whole trial (boots, long pants etc).
We took a Grab over ~350baht. We paid our driver to wait for us for 2hrs and to bring us to the floating market ~500baht.
Otherwise, a really good place to chill and have picnics too, just be careful of monkeys.

Ton Ba (level 1) - Shallow waters. Fantastic picnic location, especially for families with kids. Fishes visibly everywhere and not afraid of visitors. Beware of monkeys.
Ton Pliew (level 2) - Easy hike to level 2. Slightly deeper waters. Will require close supervision for kids swimming in the area.

No chance to explore level 4 to 7.

1 of the simple sightseeing u can see which isn't that far from samila beach. There is a small tram that takes u to the hilltop to see the temple up there. Cost 30baht per adult and 20baht per child. Can't remember but if not mistaken if it's child is less than 90cm it's free. View is nice at the top but aside from that there is frankly nothing much to do here. Qué to get into the tram can get crazy during peak seasons but u probably can skip this for more interesting sights elsewhere

Khao Tangkuan is a high mountain, which is about 2.000 feet from sea level. There are 2 option ways:
- By elevator at the junction road between Khao Tang Kuan and KhaoNoi.
Ticket elevator is 20 bath for children and 30 bath for adult.
- Use the stair on the west side which is opposite to the elevator. There are stone stairs and many rest points and viewpoints. You can see the scenery from many levels. There is 145 steps from Naka Stairs to ViharnDaeng.

There's a history to the existence of both. 😂

Good place to walk in the evening for chilling and picnic. All you have to do is bring your own mat, cups, plates, rubbish bag and cutlery. Along the street, there are people selling food and drinks; fried crab, prawn fritters, fruits and ice cream etc. The prawn fritters are so good, crispy with lots of prawn definitely recommended to get them. As for the mermaid sculpture, it's no longer golden as the name described. The best is just to take photo from far as it will be crowded and during pandemic, best not to touch it. According to my mom, the sculpture smells a bit weird. There are few activities you can do there like picnic, play kite, horse riding, swim or just whatever you can do at the beach. Washroom and shower room available along the beach by the small shops selling clothes and hats, 5-10 Baht per entry.

I came here about 10 years ago. Nothing changed much. But the statue still remains as favorite spot for photoshoot.
You could possibly get a good deal for things sold at nearby shops.
We managed to get various type of baskets at the open area much cheaper than other places.
Absolutely worth a visit if you like canopy and wetland walks.
The highlight is certainly the long canopy walk that is stretching over several towers and levels, some quite high up. There's also a nice walk on an elevated walkway through wetlands.
It takes about 1 hour to complete the 3km loop and although it's mostly in the shade it can get quite hot, bring plenty of water.
When we visited on a weekday there were only 3 other cars in the parking lot, we didn't see any other people but could hear some voices in the distance.

It's OK, for your morning exercise, walk. 3kms and allow 1.5 hrs, though I didn't stroll over to the herb garden. Arrived 0830, done 1000, very leisurely stroll, what few stops for photo (quick, no posing).
Actually went there for birding, heard 2, saw 1 species, and a bit disappointing in that aspect, but nice stroll none the less.
IF in the neighborhood, why not. Wouldn't bother with a special trip though, and I would bother revisit if in the neighborhood again. Once was enough.
If into plants, then probably enjoy it more.
3 tiera of raised walkway, maybe 50 meters each, and nice enough. Nothing strenuous.
Mozzies not a problem, a few, and not the Dengue type. Long pants worn, and didn't really need long sleeve shirt, which I didn't wear. In the shade most of the walk, but no breeze.

Really nice walk through the forest and a swamp. Best part of course was the high hanging walkway. Some parts was higher over the trees. But some rust made it feel little unsafe, some parts hade holes all the way through the metal. And the last walk hade some overgrown paths that made it hard to walk, with fallen sticks with small spikes you almost hard the crawl under. But still worth the beautiful walk.

It is a shady forest garden. I visited on a cloudy and windy day. It seems like it's going to rain, so we can't walk much and hurry back.
Big trees, shady, with a sign telling the name of the tree and QR-code provide addition information. The great thing is that there is no entrance fee, people can go for jogging or cycling.
In addition, there is a coffee shop near by the entrance. So, after trailing, you can sit back for coffee or have a small snack.

The boat ride was great experience. When into rain and shine but it didn’t stop us from enjoying the scenery. Apparently there was no much lotus flower during our visit in Dec. One must come during peak blossom season on Mar-Apr month.

Thale Noi's non-hunting area is a freshwater lake where the diverse birdlife and wetlands are protected. A popular destination for birdwatching, exploring the wetlands and observing the local fishermen using traditional methods to catch fish. The water lilies and lotuses that blanket the lake in late April adds to its beauty.

Awesome... Visit early morning. You will love it. You will see birds, water buffalo and the flower blooming

The boat ride from the Thale Noi Waterfowl reserve was a fantastic experience. The crewman was experienced and knowledgeable in his tour. It went for at least 35 mins which was plenty of time to see the entire bay.
We missed the water Buffalo on this day however nonetheless worth a ride out.

Worth the visit. Boat ride cost 450 Baht for 1hr. Recommend to take the boat ride before 9am to see the lotus blooming and before the sun gets too hot.

Missed the sunrise & lotus flowers opening during my last trip. But this time, to ensure that I don’t miss again, stayed at Lenox Berry cafe to wake 5am for the 530 boat trip which took about 2 1/2 hrs...the boat ride is THB900 & worth every bath😄...
Small wooded island featuring white-sand beaches & resorts, plus clear waters with a coral reef.
Another island in Thailand that shouldn’t miss..Private Island, quiet but beautiful. You can see the different view when low tide.

There are only four hotels on the east side of the island, all of which have private beaches. Even if you go 200 meters from the shore, the water does not reach your waist and is crystal clear. You won't get bored even if you lie on a chair all day. We stayed at Seven Sea Resort.

Our Hosts at The Sunny Hill Villa arranged a day trip to the Island for our party, private long tail boat who drop you to the beach and the relaxed and waited for our return.
The beaches were stunning!! The Snorkeling, incredible! The water is crystal clear and warm. Fish colourful and inquisitive!
There are a couple of resorts on the beach so we grabbed a drink or two and had an amazing day!
I would add this island to your list if you have the time!! Fantastic reccomendation from The Sunny Hill Villa and thank you for arranging the whole thing for us. 10 out of 10!

We came here on a tour low season May on Thai coronation holiday being informed this was voted best beach in the world. We were disappointed as the main beach was just lined up with boats all along , the water foamy from the pollution from the boats and the mass tourism. We didn’t enjoy swimming until the tours had mostly left in the afternoon to enjoy a cleaner swim . We could see that the Paradise beach is beautiful when there are not a lot of people but these days, there are 2000/day on average visiting this small island with just 1 long stretch of beach and one small one via a 20 min jungle walk . The main beach has already been spoiled by the mass tourism in only a couple of months.

A lovely island without cars or motorcycles. Just relax at the lovely beaches. A great place for snorkeling. For me the best place for snorkeling I have been in Thailand.
Emerald Cave, a popular attraction in Koh Mukk, offers an exciting adventure for visitors. Accessible by small kayak or boat, the cave features a short swim through dark passages before emerging onto a hidden beach with breathtaking views. Despite initial nervousness about enclosed spaces, many tourists found the experience to be safe and enjoyable with the help of guides providing head torches and float vests. Some recommend visiting at off-peak times to fully appreciate the marvel of nature without crowds.
Beautiful experience but very busy with tourists. Once inside the cave it is like tranquility and beauty I’ve never seen before. Truly worth visiting if you can.

We went here at mid tide with our 4 islands long tail tour! I was nervous as I don’t love enclosed spaces if dark and reading other reviews implied that. However our experience was so good - tour guide had a headlight which was great but honestly you swim through the first stretch and you can still see the entrance and light from it if you look back, swim around the little bend and there’s a small stretch that’s dark but you can almost straight away see the exit light coming through! Again this was our experience at the tide time - ended up being so fun and took us about 4-5 mins to swim through max! Beach is beautiful, busy but still worth it!

The water is very calm and warm, it is a short (3-4 min) swim through dark caves. Although the guides have and provide head torches and float vests so all very safe. The hidden beach at the other end is breath taking!!

Pak Meng Beach is a serene and picturesque shorefront located in Trang Province, Thailand. Nestled within the Hat Chao Mai National Park, this beach offers a tranquil escape with its tree-lined surroundings and gently sloping sandy shores. Visitors can enjoy shaded picnic areas, fresh seafood from numerous restaurants, and stunning views of nearby islands. The area is lively with various shops and services available, making it a popular tourist destination in the region.
I absolutely loved this place. So quiet & peaceful. The beach is very clean & no rubbish at all. A spectacular view as well. The beach is @4KM so it's a beautiful walk first thing in the morning. There is several restaurants & accommodation available. A small grocery/convenience store on the beach road as well. It's a great beach & will be back one day❤️❤️🙏🙏

...A beach in Thailand Located in the area of Mai Fat Subdistrict, Sikao District, Trang Province, it is currently under the care of Hat Chao Mai National Park, which is nearby. It is one of the famous beaches and a popular tourist destination in Trang Province. It is known as one of the first tourist attractions that people often think of and go to in Trang Province.
...Pak Meng Beach is approximately 35 kilometers from Mueang Trang District. It is a crescent-shaped beach next to the Andaman Sea of the Indian Ocean. When the tide is lowest, it is 500 meters wide, so much so that a car can be driven down. Because the sand is dense enough to support the weight of a car. There is an observation point: a giant man-shaped horn lying on its back. It is called "Khao Meng" or "Ko Meng" which is the origin of the name. which comes from the folk tale of Old Meng An old fisherman who is about to marry his daughter named Muk to Phraya Lanta. There is great beauty at sunset. It is flanked by 5 kilometers of sea pine trees. Next to Hat Chao Mai National Park, there are also 2 concrete bridges that are popularly used as fishing grounds.
In addition, It is also the location of Pak Meng Pier. Which is a pier that sends tourists to various islands in the sea area of Trang Province such as Ko Mook, Morakot Cave, Ko Ngai.

Mu Ko Lanta National Park is a marine sanctuary comprised of multiple islands. It is famous for its pristine beaches, dense jungle trails and the presence of wild monkeys. The terrain is challenging with steep rustic paths leading up to stone-laid pathways that have large steps going up and down. Despite the difficulty, the walk offers stunning views along with opportunities to witness beautiful sunsets from rocky beaches. The park boasts a well-paved 2km path making it an easy walk for visitors.
Perfect hike, not too long, not too short. The scenery on the way to the beach is very very beautiful and the water is very clear and clean to swim.
Amazing scenery climbing to the lighthouse too.

Very nice place, definitely worth the visit if you want to spend couple of hours in a beautiful natural environment. Besides the nature, this place has all the facilities you may need, such as toilets, a restaurant, accommodation and a cafe. All are also well maintained. The trip to the lighthouse is worth the climb, just for the beautiful views it offers. The beach at the foot of the hill is also very nice and you can take a swim there. We also walked around a bit and were greeted by monkeys, which were not agressive. However, we skipped the jungle trail due to the heat, but walking around other parts of the park was also very enjoyable.

200 bath per person and 20 bath parking fee. Nice beach: we spend a lot of time on it. Natural park treck is not interested at all, just walking in the wood and hope to see something.

Stunning panoramic views from atop the lighthouse cliff and an almost exclusively-private beach 😎
This afternoon was 200 baht well spent and, tbh, I wish I’d come here sooner to make a full day of it.
I saw a huge monitor lizard, plus had a lovely little walk around the rocks and up to the lighthouse. On my next visit I’ll do the jungle trek.
The beach is small, but there were very few people there so it felt like having your own private beach.
One of the things I loved most about this park was the views from the top of the cliff, where the lighthouse is. Truly stunning 😍
Another place I’ll return to, to explore further ❤️ 🥾 🏝️ ⛰️

The beach was so beautiful! Although you couldn’t get to the lighthouse or do the nature trail because it was damaged; which was a bit disappointing because it’s kind of the highlight of the park. Other than that, it’s still something worth visiting! I suggest bringing your own food as the restaurant isn’t very good; but beware of the monkeys! They will steal your food.
Overall, beautiful place!

Far more taxing than what i was lead to believe. Rather interesting terrain. First part if walking the route from car park to beach is somewhat rustic and steep. But eventually one comes out to a stone layed path, the steps going up and down are very rustic and rather large. But all in all a interesting walk. Some fantastic views at points. But was humid and buzzing with mosquitos. Take bug spray.
Alan Swain — Google review
A nice park with a beautiful beach to swim at. Highlights include a lighthouse with amazing views. A 1 hour nature hike with some ropes to climb up down depending on your direction. I recommend to start the trail by the campgrounds and not the parking lot for a easier route. Not a trail to take without some water. Don’t do it in flip-flops. At the campground by the bridge is where we saw some monkeys with some babies. On the trail there was no sign of any wildlife.
Entrance to the park was 200 baht each and about 40 baht per motorbike. There is a restaurant, change rooms and showers on site to use, albeit not overly clean.
Our favourite part was the quiet beach area with beautiful sand and crystal clear warm waters. Grab some shade under the edges of the bushes.
Nice day trip to the Southern part of the island.
jeff obrien — Google review
Beautiful national park at the southern tip of the island.
We saw rare dusky langurs climbing a few feet above us in the canopy, a mother and a baby curiously checking us out. They were very few people in the park when we visited during low season.
Relax by the peaceful sea. The waters are very tranquil and perfectly clear. Beware the monkeys who may try to take your possessions if you leave them on the beach. We had no issues but others told us to give us a fair warning.
Note; if you travel by motorbike as most people do here, the grade as you exit the park is extremely steep. Motorbikes with smaller engines will have a difficult time reaching the top. My wife is a slight person and needed to dismount for me to make it to the top the slope. It's the real deal.

Mu Ko Lanta National Park is a stunning natural gem located in Koh Lanta. You can explore the forest by tracking their nature trail for around 1 hour. The entrance fee is 200 baht for foreigners and 40 baht for Thai. Also extra 20 baht for scooter parking fee. We can enjoy views of the Andaman Sea from the viewpoints and visit the lighthouse.

Beautiful park with great ocean view and a walking trail. There is a restaurant and a café on site, as well as restrooms and even showers. You will be able to see monkeys and lizards. The water is nice and the beach is tidy so you can definitely go for a swim here. There even is a lifeguard and a flag to indicate the water conditions.

Great place even during rain season. Nice and pleasant hike around the forest. You can easily do it wearing sandals but it might be slippery after rain. Be aware of the fee for scooter (20) and entrance (200). Very nice place to visit and enjoy the nature

The lighthouse itself I wasn't really interesting. But the view from up there is astonishing. I also did the little trekking tour. It took about 90 minutes and the last part was really slippery. Fun and a experience though. I personally do not think the entrance fee of 200 was pretty high, too. I didn't see any animals in the jungle but I saw a few by the houses.
Lukas — Google review
A very beautiful and well-kept national park. The entrance ticket costs 200 baht although on Google the price is 400. Large parking, toilets, restaurant and bar near the beach with cold drinks and ice cream. Trekking sets off from the parking lot. Exactly 2 km, so if you walk slowly, admiring the jungle, then exactly an hour of a pleasant walk. We saw monitor lizard, horn bills and monkeys. But keep in mind that the trail is up and down, it's better not to go in flip flops. After the trail there is a beautiful beach. We arrived at the park at 15:30 and we didn’t have enough time to walk around and have a relaxed walk and eat. At 17:30 the restaurant and bar were no longer open. We should have arrived an hour earlier.

If being on Lanta you are up to something more than just relaxing in the beach you should definitely consider visiting The Mu Ko National Park! And if you are a nature lover then this is a must see attraction! An approximately 1h loop trail through the tropical forest is impressive but is also demanding due to humidity & steep parts of the trail. But the possibility to hear the jungle sounds (which are amazing), see monkeys and lizards and have a refreshing swim in the sea crowning the walk makes it all worth the effort.
Agnieszka Lipińska — Google review
$200 Baht entry, extra $20 for scooter. Steep descent on bike. Lovely walk, quite strenuous, 2km recommend sneakers. Enter from carpark side for best views at the end. First half dirt, followed by uneven paved track. Mosqut repellent required. I was slow & took 1 hour. Lots of wildlife if you're quiet. Went in April at 3.20pm & passed maybe 3x lots of people. Swim at the beach, marvelous reward for completing hike, quiet, shallow & safe. Clean showers, toilets & meals available after. Good to get the blood pumping!

The entry to this gorgeous Mu Ko Lanta National Park has cost me 200THB + 20THB for the parking (motorbike)
Also, smoking and drinking alcohol isn’t allowed on the beach.🚭🚯🚫
You can have all that but away from the beach. 🚬🍺
I guess that’s also why so called Epic Beach is kept really well.
I recommend to go there really early, maybe do the 1h hike in the morning when it’s not too hot, and then enjoy the beach Epic Beach 🏝️
Also, pop to the Lighthouse, it offers stunning views!

Of the different activities there are to do in Loh Lanta, I think it is the one with the greatest contact with nature.
To get there, it is best to go by motorcycle, since the taxi is very expensive. The path is not complex. There are monkeys on part of the route.
Entrance to the park costs 200 B + 20 B for motorcycle parking.
Inside there are different places to buy soft drinks and a restaurant (I didn't try it).
There is a special place for those who go camping, with parking right there.
To walk to the lighthouse, it takes 10 minutes, it is a short and independent path from the trekking.
You can do the trekking from the parking lot or from inside the park, which is signposted. The entire route has cement except in a few small parts. I recommend going with comfortable sneakers! Some parts may be slippery. It takes approximately 50 minutes to do the complete trekking.
The beach was pleasant, there were few people and spaces with shade from the trees. But in the sea there were many rocks at the bottom.

One of the best experiences I've had on Koh Lanta. Starting from the drive with big hills making it an adventurous ride. The price for the park is quite high, but you can park the motorbike as well. The trail was amazing, it's a bit of a climb especially at the start but you're constantly in the shades of the trees. Do wear good shoes though as it can be slippery when wet. The trail takes you to two amazing beaches seperated by a small little island with a lighthouse on top. The first beach is a nice chill sand beach, the other one a perfect rock beach for snorkeling. There are public toilets, a restaurant to get some food and drinks and a big open field to play sports. I wish we would have found out about this place sooner, we would have come here more often!

On our trip to Thailand, while leaving Koh Lanta, we went here on our rented bike. It was sunny and quite humid but on seeing this place we were speechless. It was pretty and had the old world charm. It was not too crowded. Ample souvenir shops and restaurants were there. We were spoilt for choice as each offered better than the other. But souvenirs were a bit expensive. The surrounding locality and the nearby roads were beautiful.Still we had a great time. Like to come here again.

Old shopping street with restaurants and bars. Some restaurants are overlooking the ocean. The view is stunning.
It is half an hour ride from Saladan. If you are a confident motorbike rider, it is not too hard to do as the road is straight forward. Riding at night time can be quite tricky but cooler.
Walking along the street in midday is hot. There is not much shade and no trees.
Souvenir shops offer more interesting choices than the ones at Lanta Walking Street.
Prices are on high side.

What an interesting town or area, I guess would be a better term. A lot of Thailand had wooden structures but in the past years since World War II from what I understand, the wooden structures are now being built with or replaced with concrete and brick. This being a hot humid jungle with bugs that like to eat wood, it is a natural progression. Lanta Old Town still shows the old style construction techniques with wood and it felt like walking back in time. It is quaint and low-key and comfortable. The wood, of course, shows a lot of weathering and rotting but it is sort of kept up.
There are lots of eateries there and it's an experience to walk out on the piers that the restaurants are made of and on and sit and have something to eat and watch the weather and the ocean and feel the old feel to the town.
There is also a good size pier but overall there is an absence of coordinated upkeep for the whole area (typical, I will say) but definitely a good experience and my rating is 4 stars. It is worth the trip to visit and see what Thailand might have looked like around 1950 or so

Small but pretty. I visited by scooter from the north of Lanta during the day and the views over the Andaman sea and islands are lovely. (Viewpoint bar up the hill before Old Town or the one next door are good). During the day the water comes right up to the restaurants which is lovely. So worth either an afternoon or evening trip. The tide was out when we arrived at 8pm to eat and do a little shopping.

Cute little seaside town full of antique homes and shops, mostly catered to tourists to explore about half an hour or so. We tried the seafood at one of the restaurants with a very nice view. The food itself was nothing to rave about.

Nice walking street with lots of shops and restaurants. the restaurants are all located on piers built above the sea, so they are very cozy. We have lunch at the Fresh Restaurant, where not only was the food delicious, but the restroom was also super clean.

The tranquil resort hotel, Lanta Klong Nin Beach Resort offers laid-back bungalows near a long and beautiful beach. Along with open-air dining, a bar and a pool, the resort provides an awesome spot to witness stunning sunsets. The area has plenty of sea-side restaurants with candlelights that offer a serene ambiance for evening walks while enjoying the views of the clean and beautiful beach. Additionally, there are bars along the coast where visitors can enjoy music and refreshments.
Lovely resort across from beach. Huge bungalows with every luxury. Helpful and friendly staff.

long beautiful beach. Only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is the people who run the restaurants will come and try to get you to come in to buy food if you sit anywhere near them. But an awesome spot for a sunset, seriously saw the best sunset I've ever seen here. Cool beach

The room we had was nice. However, the wooden windows and doors don't lock properly, so check them when you enter. If you need to change, do it immediately. The air-conditioning would make sounds and could be distracting and annoying. The cleaning service is dreadful, probably due to less manpower. The location was great as it's across the beach, and you don't need to walk too far. Otherwise, the area is quiet.

Fantastic beach, calm and beautiful sunsets... bars along the beach with music, some of reggae bars with something stronger to smoke 🍀

First i had a room next to the road which was noisy. The airco was also noisy. I moved to a bungalow for a good price. Nice open bathroom with okay shower and dito toilet. Large mainroom with good bed (hard, which i like) and balcony. Water cooker was rusty from inside (check before use!!, rusty water is very unhealthy).
The bungalow park is beautiful filled with exotic trees and plants. Its very quiet. The swimming Pool is quite large and cleaned every morning. Staff is friendly and helpfull. You can rent scooters (i did not). Water is bought at a store 20 meters from the place. A 7-11 is about 15 minutes walk. You can walk the complete route on the beach. Beach is 50 meters away, if its not closer than that. Cross the street and you are on the beach. Very good little local restaurants with Thai food as good as in Chinatown Bangkok. Perfect for a beach holiday!

We had a perfect 10 days stay in the bungalows in the resort. The bungalows have a nice charm and they are air conditioned, which is everything needed for a tropical vacation. The rooms are not luxurious but still well equipped. The beach with its crystal clear water is literally a 1-minute walk from the resort. The staff is friendly and speaks enough English to understand each other. They can also assist tourists with arranging trips to other islands or give you hing for very beautiful diving spots.

I cannot fault this place for the price (£15-£19 a night)
The saying goes 'You get what you pay for in this life'
And for the cost of 4 nights stay here I cannot complain.
I've had my fair share of staying in the full spectrum of accommodations whilst in Thailand. From the scruffy bamboo beach huts to the 5* hotels.
After traveling the world for 6 months I'm looking to get the most for my money and this place is very decent in comparison to price range.
I chose this hotel through Airbnb based on low cost and location.
Standard rooms are spacious with balcony and all the necessities you want or need.
Rooms are clean and cleaned daily.
Beds are large and comfortable.
Shower is hot.
Pool is deep and loungers have always been available.
Food is freshly prepared, tasty and fairly priced.
Klong Nin Beach is literally across the road.
Motorbike rental and laundry service from the reception are 'okay' and again relatively cheap for the service received.
Minor downside worth a mention is the noise levels of the main road outside, cockerels crowing at 5am, neighboring entertainment and lively weekend happenings... However I cannot see how this could be of any difference if I was staying in the 5* resort opposite for four times the cost.
So grab yourself some earplugs if you need a serious sleep and you'll be fine here.

Pretty great beach. We sat at a beach bar that had those awesome bean bag chairs and chased the shade under an umbrella for a few hours in the afternoon. We had a good spot on the beach, which was clean, relatively quiet, and the water was calm. There were jellyfish, but not the sting-y dangerous kind.
Nicole Hajjar — Google review
Nice beach with lots of restaurants and bars. At least while we were staying there wasn't many tourists. You can sip yak during the sunset and just chill any day. Most of the bars are really cool with free chairs and umbrellas, but some of them put reggae voodoo curses on you if you do not buy from them and just chill somewhere near their territory. All in all great beach, would recommend.

Great beach. Nice soft sand, not many rocks to be found in the sea, perfect for swimming. Plenty of beach bars/restaurants, too many for the amount of people there though (in early December). Very quiet area to enjoy the sun and some fresh fish right on the beach. Unfortunately almost no shade to be found here so take plenty of sunscreen.

Lanta Animal Welfare is a nonprofit organization that offers adoption services for dogs and cats, as well as guided tours and a merchandise shop. The sanctuary boasts ample space for every animal, and the employees and volunteers display great affection while taking care of them. It's impressive to see the amount of effort put into helping street animals without charging those who can't afford it.
The work they are doing are essential and amazing to the surrounding area. If you're in Koh Lanta, you have to visit and see all the lovely cats and dogs. 200baht per person and they currently only run 1 tour a day at 10:45 due to covid.

Lanta Animal Welfare was an amazing place to visit. They do so much for these vulnerable animals and give them a better life. A lot of these dogs and cats have been in life threatening conditions, so to see them in the great condition that they are today was truly touching. All of the staff and volunteers were great to speak to about information on each animal and were all really positive people. You could really tell that these people love doing what they do.
Would recommend anyone to come here to learn more about the work they are doing for these animals and the island itself, as well as potentially finding a new best friend to take home!

My tour here was the highlight of my stay in Koh Lanta! Absolutely filled me with happiness at the love and care that all animals are receiving here! The staff and volunteers clearly have such a passion for the work they are doing and it shows with the happiness of all the animals! Highly recommend a visit to help contribute to the fantastic work they are achieving at this rescue centre!

Marika is a wonderful tourguide and you notice she has a real heart for the animals. She is e real cat lady/dog mom. The information you get during the tour is so valuable and it’s heartwarming to know there is a team working hard to help the cats/dogs and cures/vaccinates them. If you are on Koh Lanta, give Lanta Animal Welfare a visit. You won’t regret it! The tour can be booked online. We recommend doing it in advance as there is a lot of interest!

Had a very interesting tour here by some great dog/cat loving volunteers! They do amazing rescue work and create awareness about what’s going on with the street animals in koh Lanta. Met some lovely cats and dogs and very happy I went here to learn. A rescued dog is the best dog (especially at Lanta welfare)

Absolutely amazing organisation! We booked a tour online around the welfare centre, there was a lot of information about how Lanta Animal Welfare came to be and what they do but it’s so important to understand fully just how much they do for animals on the island and the surrounding ones too. The volunteers are all really friendly - you can just tell how much they all adore animals and what a good job they do in look after them. The cats in kitty city were all so affectionate and friendly even after everything they’d been through!
The tour was really informative and a must do whilst on the island - we also did the time for lime cooking class which has been one of our favourite things yet. The chefs were friendly, funny and enthusiastic! I loved the cocktail making aspect of it too!

Worth a visit to support these animals! 200 Baht donation for the daily tour. They also have a gift shop where your money goes straight to the care of the animals. They really care for them. Many of them were abandoned, surrendered or found hurt by motor accidents or people (disgusting humans!!) They try their best to educate the public that animals need love and are not "dirty" which is what many people believe. They perform surgeries, neutering and spaying, give all the animals the shots they need. They are the reason why there are so many happy & healthy animals on Ko Lanta. They also need volunteers. Since Covid they don’t have as many so if you can spare the time, please reach out to help volunteer during your stay here! They are doing hard work and need all the support! ♥️♥️🙏🙏🐱🐶

This place is doing important work. I recommend to visit and see it your self. Their operation is depending of the donations, so everyone who has some extra money, or even some extra clothes / linens to spare should consider donating.
Place seems quite popular for for tourists and locals, so best to book a tour in advance and be on time when the tour starts.
You get to pet the cats and dogs, hear some stories why and how people are working there. In one hand it is bit sad to hear the tragic stories, but on the other hand there are so many heart worming happy ends.
These guys are heroes and they don't get the appreciation that they would deserve <3

Lanta Animal Welfare is definitely worth visiting while on Koh Lanta. You need to book a tour, and they last approximately 1 hour. During the tour you find out about the history of the organisation and the impact of their work. You get to spend time in Kitty City, see the dog yards, the vet clinic and training area. In the training area you get to meet some of the dogs and/or puppies. There is also a gift shop, information on sponsoring and adopting animals, and opportunities to find out about volunteering for them.

Had a morning tour today and absolutely loved it, the work the shelter does is amazing for welfare and the freedom for the animals. The lady who gave us our tour (apologies can’t remember her name) was amazing you, can see how much love she has for the animals. the volunteers all seem to be very happy and work relentlessly hard to keep the sanctuary up and running. I can’t recommend visiting more the staff and the animals greatly appreciate the visit. I wish I could take them all home with me as me and my partner fell in love with Butter the cat, as well as Dominic and a beautiful three legged ginger cat.
The negative reviews are honestly lying and seem to be upset that a charity has asked for money.

Most wonderful animal sanctuary, so much space for every animal and all of them are taken care of with a lot of love by all the employees and volunteers. It is great to see all the effort that is put into helping all the street dogs and cats on the island. Another great thing: they help everybody who brings a hurt animal there without charging money if the people don't have any. They rely exclusively on sponsors and donations. If you have the chance, please go and visit the tour through the clinic (10:45 am) and donate a bit of money, they absolutely deserve it.

This organisation continues to do amazing work for the animals of Lanta (and neighbouring areas).
My last visit here was in 2017 and it's fantastic to see that not only has their work continued, but they have been able to expand and help more animals.
I 100% recommend a visit, and their cooking school A Time For Lime, also funds their work too.

Lanta Animal Welfare does a fantastic job to help all the poor street dogs and cats in Koh Lanta ( and several other islands etc. with whom they collaborate). We attended a daily visit and we could see a lot of their daily work and behind the scenes. You can see that everything they do - they do it for the animals and with their hearts. Thanks for that 🥰

I took their tour and it was easily one of the best things I did in Lanta! The organization has saved, treated, rehabilitated more than 10,000 dogs and cats and helped many of them get adopted.
It was humbling to see the work that goes into maintaining their facilities and staff, and how they use the funds to build a safe space for animals to heal and trust humans again.
I’d definitely recommend doing the tour! They also have a cooking class — time for lime — and all its earnings are used to run the welfare. So you can do either of those to support the animals.

Paying to visit an animal shelter ... I wasn't very sure if it was worth it at first. But it was :) Lanta Animal Welfare has a very interesting story and they do a great job on the island (and surrounding islands). You can also interact with some of the cats, which was fun. I left very, very impressed!

I took my children here and it was an hour well spent. Our ticket prices all go into the not for profit welfare centre as a donation and after you see everything they do here, you will know it’s money well spent. All the staff were friendly and helpful and our tour was really informative. You see EVERY part of the centre including the labs, hospital, x ray room, recovery and play areas. You leave fully understanding how a place like this functions, is funded and the positive impact it has made to the island and parts of the nearby mainland. I highly reccomend you come and visit.

It's an amazing experience, to see what they have done to give the dogs and cats of Lanta a better time, a chance to heal wounds and soul and or a new life.
We got to see kitty city, the hospital, the doggie outdoor area and the rehabilitation station.
We cuddled lovely cats and dogs and while having a refreshment, we listened to the history of Lanta Animal Welfare and how it survived the tsunami and the COVID pandemic.
Thank you all so much for your work!

They have tightened what they offer here, which makes sense. You need to book in for a tour. First you meet in a welcome area with cats, where they tell you about their rescue centre. Then you get a tour of the facilities, where at a distance you can meet some of their dogs, view their kennels and see their medical centre. It’s great to see the work they do.
Edited to add I can’t help but laugh at the (minimal) negative reviews, complaining that they have to pay to see the animals. Of course you do - it’s a donation run charity.

Love what this place does in terms of neutering and treating animals. The work is remarkable and there's been a significant reduction in the number of stray animals as a result. It's definitely worth a visit to not only learn about the work but also to see the lovely cats and dogs there. I'd highly recommend.

Took the tour advertised on their website. The tour was very well organized, the guide explained in detail about the history of the establishment and the rescue animal situation on Lanta.
I was very impressed with the work they have accomplished on the island. The donation of 250baht for this tour was very well worth it.
The animals had space to roam, the clinic was clean and everything was organized. Highly recommend the tour!

Very educational, a MUST to visit!! Wish more of such well organized animal welfare existed… They are doing amazing work for our vulnerable homeless furry friends, which most of us can’t commit as they do… The only thing I can support is to provide small but constant monthly donations. The Emerald Pool is a mineral lake in a lush forest, which is a popular swimming spot. A wooden walking track leads visitors on an 800m - 1400m walk through the serene forest to reach the pool. The walk offers scenic views of waterfalls and the sounds of birds and insects, making it therapeutic for nature lovers. The natural pool has dark cyan coloured water that comes from trapped rocks beneath its surface. Swimmers are allowed to dip into the pool wearing swimsuits only.
absolutely beautiful place that really makes you appreciate nature. was pretty crowded but was still able to really appreciate the beauty of the pool. definitely a must see while you’re in krabi!

FREEDOM FOR CATS. The temperature of the water was around 30 degrees, it was not too hot like the other pools. I am 1.55 meters tall and my feet were touching the ground. A beautiful, serene place worth a visit. We enjoyed a 800m - 1400m walk into the forest to witness the emerald pool. The walk itself was scenic and therapeutic; we witnessed calming waterfalls, sounds of birds and insects and nature. The emerald pool is all natural with beautiful dark cyan coloured water that comes from trapped rocks underneath the surface. You’re free to dip in the pool as long as you have a swimsuit. It’s recommended to visit earlier in the morning rather than later in the afternoon as it closes at 16:30 pm. Do note that there is a 20 baht entry fee for Thai adults, while foreigners will be charged more. Other than that the public sanctuary also has a bird observing attraction worth a visit.

If you see a scene like this, will you keep quiet without splash into the water? Just with 200 bath to enter this national park, you can see an emerald pool in conservation area. With a lot of wild plant and animal.
Natural atmosphere accompanied me through the trail to the emerald pool. Birds and forest song blends beautifully with the sound of the river around it. Various kind of flowing water, some are through shallow pools, deep and areas, also ripples from river flow contours.
Some parts beside the emerald pool are slippery because of moss. While the bottom of the pool is sandy which will become cloudy if there is too much turmoil in the water. The rest of the pool is clear with the nature temperature. Make sure you don't bring any food and all kinds of soap. It seems the prohibited is a management effort to maintain the naturalness and cleanliness of this area. Must see while you’re in Krabi!

We decided to drive to Emerald pool via motorbike which took us 1 hr 30 mins. As per our research this place gets very crowded mid morning so we decided to leave earlier and got to this gem at 9am. We were a bit skeptical in the beginning as we were 1 out of 3 small groups there. At one point we had the pool to ourselves. By the time we left(10am) we saw 3 huge tour busses and 5 vans full of tourist arriving. We were super relieved with our decision. So if you ever decide to go, make sure to arrive before 10am! We managed to visit all three pools (Crystal, Emerald, and the blue lagoon). Note that you can only swim in the Emerald pool. It was super clean and clear. I recommend to bring aqua shoes, mosquito spray as you’ll be walking through hungry mosquitoes! And of course a towel. Swimming is a must! The water was very refreshing on a hot day. Entrance fee has been increased to 400 baht for tourists. Please note that they don’t accept card and toilets are 5-10 baht.

400 baht entry + expensive transport for a ‘natural’ pool. In my opinion not worth the visit, if you have extra time and money it is not bad. The pools and area are really beautiful, but I can imagine that different spots show the same beauty for a different price. Nice to have seen, will not come back.

There are also vendors there you can get food and drinks. A very fun time for everyone. The water was very nice. The temperature was good and it was very clean.
I definitely recommend for people to take their families to this place. Go early and spend the whole day. There is no place to lock up your stuff. So leave your valuables in the car bring comfortable shoes and towels there are bathrooms and places to change your clothes . But you have things to see here. It’s a very nice tourist destination.

A wonderful quiet piece of Earth's paradise. The emerald pool is clean and well maintained. 400TB per adult which I feel is expensive for what it is.
The walk through the jungle was fine and the pool itself is lovely and great for a swim, and has some fish in there. We walked to the Blue Lagoon but for us it wasn't worth the walk, was a smaller blue pool of water that you can't swim in.
We went early in the morning and were the only one in the pool for some time which was nice.
Was nice to see the emerald pool but unsure if it's worth £20.

There 3 natural pools. Crystal, Emerald and Blue. There are two paths. Better to take the nature trail which passes through the jungle. Out of these 3 pools you are allowed to swim in the Emerald pool only. My suggestion will be to see the Blue pool first and while coming down do swim in the Emerald pool.

Beautiful park with lots of well curated trails. The main areas then to be overwhelmed with tourists and large groups. The hike is a little longer than expected. It's not for the faint of heart. Many of the paths didn't have hand rail in place. This created a bit of a hazard, IMO. However, it also adds to the experience.

When in Krabi, you have to come see this natural phenomenon at the Emerald Pool. It is actually the last stop and is not a loop, so it is quite some walking to get there, but it is worth it! You cannot swim at the Emerald Pool itself, but you can at the other natural pool near the entrance.

One of the many touristy locations in Krabi, while the spot is good & well maintained its very crowded. Need to walk around 1 km from the entrance but the way through is pleasant. The only issue is it's far away from any other location & easily a half day tour. Unless you desperately want to tick your checklist it can be skipped

It's a beautiful place with crystal clear waters.
There are a few short nature trails. And you can also walk up to blue pool, in which you cannot swim.
Swimming in Emerald pool was very pleasant, and it is very picturesque.
That being said, I do not think that it is worth the entrance fee and the cost of the journey there.
If you love short nature walks and love looking at clear water, I can still say that it may be worth a visit. Go early as the crowd later in the day gets pretty crazy.
But if you're hesitant about it, I would say to give it a miss.

Nice place, there's a small stream of hot water, and a the same for cold water. The water is clear, but the staff is very restricting - no jumping (even when I held my kid and threw her), they also asked that the kids don't climb the trees... and I felt uncomfortable with them watching all the time.
Honestly, not worth the price of entry, in my opinion (400 adults, 200 kids). No outside food allowed.

A bit crowded but definitely worth the experience. Out of nowhere a butterfly came and landed on my chin while in the Emerald pool. The waters were clean and crystal clear. Great and relaxing experience! The natural hotspring has formed a waterfall and few small natural pools where you can sit and enjoy the 40 - 45 degrees hot water and the natural "jacuzzi". Go there at around 10 - 10:30, during weekdays. Weekends are not the best due to the crowded area. Take some clothes and a towel for changing after bath. When you'll be out of the hot pools you'll need some iced drink to get cooled. There is a shopping area and you can sit and taste a fresh fruit iced shake. Enjoy! It worth all the the money and time spent there!

It gets really busy in the afternoon, so come as early as possible to avoid the big crowds. The waterfall hot stream is really gorgeous and so nice to sit in. It is not too hot so you can actually sit, enjoy and relax.
You cannot miss this when in Krabi and you like to be in a natural pool.

200 baht/person. There is one restaurant open at the food court by the gate and toilets. The place is ok, maintained, but can be filled with people. It is better to stay at one of the nearby hotels with direct private access to the hot springs (not Wareerak though).

BEAUTIFUL spot to relax and bathe in some warmth! There was an entry fee of course but very small. It’s about a 5 minute walk down to the stream which can be very slippery so be careful where you step! But the luxurious bathing holes are worth this trip!

The stream itself has too many visitors at once. When we visited, there were multiple tour vans full of tourists. The space is very limited in the stream. They do have large hot spring pools a short walk before you reach the stream. The large pools vary in temperature. The smallest pool has the highest temperature water. Pretty hot and you can only sit for a few minutes. Great to sit in and get a good stretch in. Great to warm up your muscles. I honestly would skip this place if you're not on a tour with multiple locations. Not very interesting if this is your only stop for tourism. Way to crowded and busy to truly enjoy nature and the experience.

When you charge 10 times the price to foreigners, then it must be really good, and quite frankly, it was very disappointing. There are both some walled pools and some pools with a lot of stones where the water from the river is stopped before it flows into the river. The rocks are very smooth and definitely not a place where I wanted to break my legs.
The changing facilities were a tacky house that might once have looked nice.

Great place to spend a day.
The hot stream is really nice to stay and relax, after that you take a dip in the river to refresh. And then repeat!
Very clean and well maintained. Absolutely loved the place and would definitely recommend you to visit if you are in the area. Do keep extra time as you will want to stay for whole day.
Hope this helps 🙏

Fun hot springs! It is in a waterfall and so there are several small pools to explore. The river below the falls is cool water if you end up getting too hot.

BEST DECISION. Came here just after 4.30pm, very few people, water was wonderfully warm (maybe between 38-40 Celcius?) - worth it.

A Must visit place in Krabi.
This hot stream holds medicinal properties as it contains natural minerals and elements which is helpful for the body.
A 15-20 min hot bath is advisable as long exposure to hot water of about 50-60 degrees for more than 30min affects badly for the skin and body.
300meters walk from the ticket counter. This place is a hidden gem in Krabi.
Must visit place.
Favourite spot ❤️

It's not a place to stay as much as you want. Too many people rushing around and overall a small area. There are altogether 6-8 small pools in the shade of big trees. Good for children.

Wonderful place, it's so nice to be in the hot water! I recommend to go very early when it's not so crowded

A very peaceful peaceful dip in the hot springs. This place is in an enclosed resort I guess because before the hot spring i managed to get a massage for under 200 baht within the property on my walk towards the hot stream, and then took the best dip of my life with nature! 100% recommend this for an extremely peaceful afternoon. However go in the early noon or morning (9am), it gets pretty crowded as time passes.

A cool spot to chill at if you absolutely love people in your face. Not worth the price but I did feel extremely relaxed after spending some time in the waterfall.
There's a short walk from the parking lot to the waterfall - maybe 500m or so but bathrooms on the way so you can change. There are also other pools to wade and relax in which was nice because everyone and their moms were at the waterfall.

The Hot Springs in Krabi, Thailand, are a true marvel of natural beauty, and our visit left us utterly enchanted. Nestled amidst lush bamboo trails, the journey to the hot springs is as breathtaking as the destination itself, offering a serene escape into nature's embrace.
As we followed the scenic bamboo trails, we were greeted by the melodious sounds of nature and the tranquil ambiance of the surroundings. The verdant foliage provided a picturesque backdrop, setting the stage for the unforgettable experience that awaited us.
Upon reaching the hot springs, we were immediately captivated by the crystal-clear water and the natural flowing current cascading over the smooth and rounded rocks. These rocks, with their built-in seating, invited us to immerse ourselves in the soothing warmth of the springs, creating a serene oasis of relaxation.
The whole experience was nothing short of magical, making it the perfect day trip for anyone seeking a rejuvenating escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Whether you're soaking in the healing waters, marveling at the natural beauty that surrounds you, or simply basking in the tranquility of the moment, the Hot Springs in Krabi offer an unforgettable journey into one of nature's natural wonders.

It was a beautiful experience. The hot waterfalls were incredible. Bathing in them is an experience I'll never forget.
The site was a little sad as far as maintenance, and there's almost no control or safety in place. The infrastructure for many of the buildings was in a dilapidated state.
IMPORTANT NOTE: It's absolutely worth going!

Now this was pretty awesome. Get there early to avoid too many people. I can imagine the experience would not be as good as our if it was packed with too many people. Felt sooooo good to let the hot water and minerals soak into your skin. Highly recommend visiting this place.

We thought it would be too hot taking into account the weather outside but it turned out just fine! The stream at the bottom is cold and refreshing which hits the spot after the hot pools. Quite far from Aonang, so I wouldn’t go there by bike another time. Overall, loved it! The entrance fee is 200 baht per person.
We arrived at about 3 pm and it wasn’t crowded at all. There’s a food court but it’s deserted so we didn’t dare to eat there.
Adorable place. Price is 20 bath for local and 100 for foreigners.

The saline water comes from under the ground and into the first pool at 43°. It overflows into adjoining pools, progressively getting cooler as it goes. It is good for reducing blood pressure and relaxing muscle tension.
This is the only hot spring in Thailand with naturally occurring salty water. I am led to believe that it is only one of two in the world with naturally saline water, the other being in the Chech Republic.

Entrance fee has gone up to 200 Baht for foreigners, but I feel it is still worth the visit. The pool was just steps away from the carpark. The grounds are well-maintained. There was a shower area (no soap or shampoo allowed), changing rooms, toilets, lockers, even a prayer room. I didn't explore the walking trails, but there were little pavilions and signs to the thai massage centre. I got there at about 4pm and there were very few people there. By 530pm there were lots of people, mostly locals.

Very cool experience, super hot pools! Definitely hotter than any hotsprings in Australia but all the locals that come here are super friendly and nice to be around and if you're in the area or don't mind a long ride from ao nang (we rode for ages), definitely recommend coming here ! If you can manage to sit in the 44° pool you're doing better than me !!

Great place and well worth the visit! Unlike the nearby 38 to 40 Celsius Krabi Hot Springs, overrun with obnoxious tourists and warm waterfalls, 200 baht this place is the real deal! Several pools for 100 baht, with really hot mineral water from 40 up to 45 ° and just local people enjoying.

The only naturally occurring saltwater hot spring in Thailand and one of a few in the world.
The ponds are surrounded by the mangrove forest. The temperatures are between 40-45 degree Celsius. At the bottom of two ponds in particular look like a miniature of stalagmite caves. Air bubbles pop up from the bottom of these ponds, awesome. You are not allowed to bathe in these 2 ponds.
Entry fees are dual pricing systems, one for Thais and more expensive for foreigners. There are parking fees as well.

Quite a unique hot spring experience - saline. Facilities for showering and toilets are new and clean. 200bhat entrance fee for foreigners, 40bhat if you can pose as a Thai like I did :)

Very nice and quiet. The water is really hot. 46°. Changing rooms, massage. Entrance 20 baht if thai. 100 baht if foreign. But if you have a work permit you will pay same thai people. This is nice. ;)
