Pasar Malam Batu Feringghi

Mentioned on
Night market
Shopping
The Batu Feringghi Night Market is a popular attraction in Penang, Malaysia that boasts numerous small shops and roadside stalls selling food, accessories, and clothing until late at night. Visitors can indulge in an array of mouthwatering cuisine while shopping for affordable souvenirs to take home. The market also offers pubs and nightclubs for those who prefer to drink or party their last day away.
The night market and the adjacent beach are both amazing! We appreciate the ability to get good souvenirs right alongside the beach. It made our trip really efficient. I would add that the beach is not for small children. The current is drop and it gets deep quickly. This beach is more suited for parasailing or jet skis than snorkeling or sandcastle building. Plan accordingly!

Night market with numerous souvenirs, some vendors force you to buy their items. Overall it's an excellent experience. The parking costs RM5, better to park near shops
RASHVAYANI — Google review
The place is good close to beach. There are so many shops and restaurants. Although its a busy tourists place but price is not too high. The foods quality and taste was good. In night it is more attractive and enjoyable. There so many residence hotel and bar. I anyone like to drink they can do it with the view of sea.
Md Sazedul Haque — Google review
I liked this place before coz its very happening at night, but now its not that many sellers here but it still worth it to come and buy something for souvenir
Aini Messi — Google review
It's a great place to visit. Nice place to eat. It's right next to the beach and it made a good idea to walk after our meal. Later we went for a night walk on the beach. Honestly, it was very nice to walk on the beach at night. You can also go for a night walk on the beach.
Shahid Jony — Google review
Followed SOP strictly but visitors gathering and walking is not proper but can be better with more enforcement staffs ..anyway still enjoyable
Khan Sayem — Google review
The roti canai stall exceptional. The food is marvelous..try it!!
Minnie Sofea — Google review
The parking is rm7 which is expensive. Just like you were parking inside a mall in kuala lumpur but the parking spot is mediocre. Not worth my rm7. 💀 The souvenirs such as penang shirt, toys, gadget accessories, keychains, fridge magnets, etc is available here. Try to ask for discounts because most of the times, the price doesn't make any sense. 💸 There's not so much food stalls? Just go to the nearby fast foods restaurant like McDonald's/ starbucks nearby. By the way, this night market is very long. It just by the side of the road. 😶
QiGenius (Qi Genius) — Google review
A great spot for shopping and walking around. A pleasant environment.
Tahir Shakir — Google review
We had dinner at the Delicious Snack stall at the back of the food court and was blown away at how great the food was… ended up having dinner 3 times! Highly recommend the prawns done with the garlic and chili’s and their stir fried greens!!! So much better than the resort food!

Good food with cheaper price. However bags and souvenirs are cheaper in George town

Nice beach. Great for family gatherings. Bring your picnic and umbrella to shelter from sun 🌞
Claire Tyrrell — Google review
The place is very good, next to the beach, food is not expensive. The service from the shop is very good. In the early evening from 19:30-20:00 there is a fire show on the beach.

Definitely a welcoming sight here. Something that brightened Batu Ferringhi dull stretch in the evening. Hopefully more landlords will follow suit... Change the image of The popular beach resorts!

If you are looking for some exotic souvenir or gifts this will be the perfect place. The food supermarket is too good with superb variety items. Compared to Kulalampur it's expensive but the goodies and food are unique.

Tropical Fruit Farm

Mentioned on
Farm
Sights & Landmarks
The Tropical Fruit Farm offers tours of a vast area filled with tropical and subtropical fruit trees, allowing visitors to sample the fresh produce. Additionally, guests can enjoy a Night River Cruise or pick their own fruits at the farm. For accommodation, Jalan Jalan Guest House is an affordable option that has a sociable atmosphere and free tea and coffee all day long. Warisan Eco Lodge provides comfortable amenities such as darts, bike hire, barbeque facilities, and a terrace.
Have a lot of tropical fruits. This place also can have a cup of coffee with natural beauty environment. Friendly staff and boss. For farm tour RM20 for adult and RM10 for child. Recommended for family and couples.
SY Yong — Google review
Definitely a good place to go if you have children. Also fun for adults too. The tour is very informative. I think someone else here mentioned him with good English. Very friendly staff. Definitely a must visit during fruit season May to July. Must try the fruit plate. I would say 1 plate good for 2 adults unless you really love eating lots of fruit. They mentioned that by May 2023 they should have the fruit buffet bar reopened. They have a local specialty hot food section, fruits and juices, honey tasting, coffee tasting and must try enzyme tasting for those that love kombucha.
K-Juan Chan — Google review
This place is very nice! We got the package for the farm tour including fruits plate and juice. The tour took around 30-40min, the guide was very knowledgeable. We were very happy to see some of the trees for the first time, such as coffee, nutmeg and cinnamon! After the tour we went for the fruits enzyme and honey tastings. The coffee honey was so delicious! And at last, we got the fruits plate and the juice we chose from the many options they offer and went to their terrace tables to enjoy it with such a great view. The staff is so helpful and friendly, we loved the experience there and super recommend it!
Larissa Terumi Arashiro — Google review
Really enjoyed the farm tour including fruit tasting, enzyme (fermented fruit) and honey tasting. Friendly staff. Cooler than coast and very scenic location. We stayed on the lovely open air covered deck and enjoyed the fruit and juice, then stayed for lunch and coffee. Highly recommend for a relaxing time. Got a Grab there and for the return trip.
Nadia L — Google review
Loved it. This is not a touristy spot, but an educational one. PLEASE get your kids here. Let them and you learn how fruits, veg, cocoa, coffee, oils are made. It's a 25acre farm land. Lot to learn. We met a farmer whose English was super fluent and the verbiage was supreme. Kids can fetch new words and learn. The service is awesome. Coffee yum. Food amazing 😋 Fries, chicken fry, pizza, satay etc. Also get farm made cut fruits. Accidentally came here and enjoyed. Posting some pics, check out. This place is few km from Batu Ferringhi beach ⛱
Fathima Farahna — Google review
You can learn many tropical trees that bear fruits that you might be surprised how it comes. This is a great opportunity to learn some fruits that you might not be found in the market nowadays. Some of the fruits are quite vital that contained high nutritious minerals that we needed but due to the pricing in the market is not valuable that cause it won't be worth to plant to sell fruit in the market. For those who loves biology or science research is recommended to pay a visit there, you could learn many things.
Johnson Chey Wei Fa — Google review
Great place for both children and adults to spend some time to see, identify and learn how different fruits are grown. For a small fee, there's guided tour through the whole area. Be observant and you may see small bats roosting on some fruit trees. Souvenirs and other produce from the farm can be purchased too.
Eddie Lim — Google review
Very nice tour guide can speak both fluent English and Cantonese. Good experience to know more about the tropical fruits and how to pick a good one! The fruits are really fresh and the foods taste good. Very unique flavour for the passion fruit spaghetti
Han Xiao Eileen Li — Google review
A beautiful farm with a lot of different fruits. The area is nicely maintained. We were offered some fruits right at the farm, which was interesting. There are lots of mosquitoes, but well, we’re in the forest. Entrance fee isn’t cheap but it includes a tour to the fruit farms, a guide, enzyme and honey tasting afterwards. The staff are quite knowledgeable and friendly. Recommended if you’re around the area. It’s along the windy road.
Tony Tee — Google review
If you haven’t been to an orchard or a fruit farm before, you will like this. The process is for you to buy a ticket then you will be driven uphill in a makeshift Toyota Hilux 4x4, with a guide, you will then walk for about 30minutes with the guide explaining bout each tree. At the end you will get a glass of fruit juice and fruit platter if your admission ticket included it. By the way, some of you will also love the bathroom experience.
sif3ra — Google review
Tour is a little short, but the guide and staff are incredibly friendly and will provide information/answers on your question. Must try is the Coffee Honey: delicious! We forgot our water bottle there and when we came back it was waiting for us at the bar
Rik Kuijpers — Google review
Went for the 30 min guided tour and it was so informative! Started with a short (maybe 3 minutes?) ride uphill. Then a walk along the paved paths where the guide explained the fruit trees along the way. Then back on the vehicle to go back downslope to the shopfront. Followed by a short tasting session of their fruit enzymes, supposed to be able to taste their coffee honey too I think but we didn’t go for it. We also paid for 2 packages that included a fruit platter and one cup of fruit juice. Sat at the nearby tables that had a good view of the surrounding greenery. Huge farm, saw so many fruits that we’ve never heard/seen before! Just a bit sunny - so prep those sun hats and umbrellas.
Kai — Google review
Great place for family to enjoy local fruits and product including honey and coffee. Its very informative as well and good for kids. You can also enjoy some other meals such as pizza, spaghetti and others while enjoying tropical hill view.
Suley Suley — Google review
They offer farm visit, retail shop, F&B in the same location. The viewing deck offers very good view of the surrounding mountain area. Fruit Rojak was so so only. The sauce was not tasteful enough. Cut fruits were fresh and they were charged by plate size. Eating at the viewing deck with windy condition was a very enjoyable experience. Crews were friendly and helpful in assisting the customers.
Tee Yeu Loon — Google review
Due to rain, i didn't join the guided tour. I explored the shop and tried their fruits juice and tasted nice. The place is well maintained and there is nice seating area for a drinks.
Song Play — Google review
Great lady guide, she was very attentive to the little children in our group. Also very knowledgeable about fruits etc we were able to try all the fruits which was so lovely. Then taste some honey when back to start also enzyme tasting...strange taste of most of them but interesting to try. Only thing I would say is to book a taxi not via Grab as we found it hard to get a return via Grab. So ended up in paying for a taxi. Enjoyed though would certainly recommend staff so lovely.
Tracy Lock — Google review
Nice place up the hill. Fresh air and scenery. Durian season only in June and July.
Tim Kaizer George — Google review
The Tropical Fruit Farm proved to be a captivating exploration, with the warmth and expertise of our guide, Mr. Lau. Amidst the vast array of fruit varieties, Mr. Lau's guidance allows us to fully experience the farm—enticing our senses with the aromas, textures, and flavors of both fruits and leaves. Delving deeper, the farm offers two enticing packages. One includes a single serving fruit platter, showcasing a medley of seasonally fresh tropical delights, complemented by a choice of refreshing juice. This elevated the tour, turning it into a sensory-rich journey through the local tropical fruits.
E’leen Liew — Google review
Highly recommended. We bought a tour with tasting enzymes. The guide was kind and diligent with good explanations of the fruits trees. She let us try small pieces of many unique fruits, which I don't see in the markets, during the tour. Thanks!

Batu Ferringhi Beach is a highly popular tourist destination on Penang Island where visitors can indulge in various water activities such as parasailing and jetskiing. This expansive beach is ideal for those seeking a relaxed beach experience, with ample opportunities to enjoy the sunset and stroll through the Batu Ferringhi Night Market that offers diverse food, clothing, souvenirs and electronics. Buses run until 11:30 pm to return tourists to Georgetown's jetty.
A scenic view from the beach. Bus no 101 from Komtar. Drive is beautiful. Lots of watersports on the beach
Sujaya Bhattacharya — Google review
Do come by after 5pm where the sun isn’t too hot. Pleasantly clean and peaceful beach. There are little clams naturally scattered between the tides. We like the soft sand and options to do water sports, along with the horse riding in the area too. Overall it’s one of the better beaches to be at, truly a hidden gem 💎
Dennis N — Google review
The beach is beautiful during sunset. There is horseback riding and other water activities. There are mosquitoes so bring bug spray. I didn't see any changing room. Quiet beach. I liked it as I don't hear loud music and crazy bar scene. It's good for a change.
Globetrekker Sarah — Google review
I didn't expect that the beach is located behind many buildings. So I got off the bus at the (maybe) end of the beach, walked back to hard rock and went to the beach by the pedestrian near hard rock. It's beautiful turquoise water and white sands with small waves. Totally different from the beaches in my hometown. Beautiful experience. Can try water sports too.
Dian N. — Google review
A nice beach for dipping and have a sun bath. Clean and calm beach. The view also beautiful. Easy to access from main street. Please don’t forget to bring your water because you need to walk back to the entrance to buy some. Rented the sunbed for 30rmy and also they have water sport (didn’t try any).
Amara Amara — Google review
It's a nice place to have a quality time with family but parents have to beware of the beach. The wave is too strong, so parents have to be near with kids for their safety. Apart from that, the horse riding is fun but parents can negotiate with the person in charge.

Definitely one of the places in things to do when you visit Malaysia. Visited with friends and had an amazing time here. We carried a drone and got the best shots here. So if you are into photos and beaches, this one is a perfect fit for your taste. You can carry volleyball since there is a set up on the beach. That was the most fun part for us on the beach. You can also get a ball for around 30RM at the beach itself. It is clean and not very crowded. Lots of water sports options available. The beach side restaurant is again an amazing place for food and drinks. The drive to reach there is also lovely. I would definitely recommend this place.
Nikita Kalantri — Google review
The beach and sand is nice. Naturally it would have been excellent. Humans are what ruined the experience. Because there are many speedboats, you will get burnt fuel smell there. Too much commercial for example many horse rides, restaurants. Didn't find the them too friendly honestly. Strangest thing is they closed the toilets immediately after sunset. Every restaurants have locked their sink and faucets so we couldn't wash our feet. For some bizarre reason water was not readily available. I have had much better experience in other beaches in Malaysia where they were more tourist friendly.
Fairoze Hassan — Google review
You can stay at city center and take bus to Batu Ferringgi Beach. You can stop at some where near by Park Royal area. Price is 2++ringgit only. Around here there will a night market beside street. Also have a lot of hotels near by and connect to beach, the beach is very long. You can walk through some of the hotel’s lobby to beach. There are many sea activities and you can swim and relax beside the beach and is free.
Sean Ley — Google review
Beautiful beach with combined coarse and fine white sand along the beach. You can enjoy parasailing, jet skiing or banana boating there. Array of food stalls along the street that you can go for lunch or dinner
Nyoman Bagus Adhiwidiana — Google review
The beach is relatively clean with shaded areas for relaxation, and the staff are warm and friendly. It's a fantastic natural retreat where you can feel the sea breeze on your face and hear the soothing sounds of waves crashing onto the shore. While visitors can wade in the water, I wouldn't recommend swimming due to the presence of jellyfish in the sea.😁
Jin Rong Ching — Google review
It is a beautiful beach where you can enjoy water sports or just sitting around watching the sun sets. There are paid toilet and shower, some souveniers shop as well as snacks stalls. It is a good place to spend time with your family and friends. I like the fact that visitors did not litter on the beach.
Sweety Bhosure — Google review
Lovely beach with white sand and very clean. The water is very calm, and there are lots of toilets and facilities nearby, so You can freshen up or have a bite to eat. There are many water sports operators on the beach, so you will have to go through the process of being asked if you want to have a ride from all of them.
Dyaa De Lisle — Google review
Nice place for u to chilling while enjoying the sunset. Also have many activities for u to enjoy such as jet ski, banana boat n horse riding.
Arriya — Google review
Beach his being cleared off rubbish regularly, wide variety of activities on the shore, beautiful views of the surrounding nature. We were very satisfied with the time spent at the beach. Shops are close by. Major hotels are in walking distance. Public transport is available to this location, and the frequency is good.
S Chitta — Google review
I have read some of the other reviews about this beach and I don't agree about that it's a lot of trash. There is some, yes, but really not much as you might see on the pictures that I took today. It's really a nice, long, quiet, beautiful beach that's perfectly fine to spend a day at. There are some water sports and fishermen but that didn't bother us. It was very few sunbeds (which we appreciated, but there are a few that you can rent during the day) and some restaurants and bars, mostly in the area around the night market. In the evening it's a lot more people along the beach and street and the food vendors open their stalls. We bathed a little but was wary because of what I've read about the jellyfish. We saw one warning sign about that near a hotel but other than that I didn't see any warnings about them. The water is not clear at all so it's not possible to see any fish or anything else.
Maria B — Google review
It's such a shame that the beach is such a dump. The local government doesn't seem to care that there's a local small river full of sewage, literally black water, leading into the ocean... I was wondering where that bad smell is coming from and it's literally the seawater. The hotels warn you from swimming in the sea due to jelly fish but it's worse than that. If you ask the locals renting the Jetski how the water is they say it's murky, which is already a bad sign. Unfortunately we won't be back.
Z — Google review
Went there on a morning (a day before the Hari Raya Aidilfitri) so less crowd and less noise. Beautiful beach although the sand is more on the coarse side. A few locals also offer jet ski ride and horse riding.
Eileen Leizel — Google review
Nice beach. Not the cleanest in Asia definitely. But the boat ride is pretty good.Toilet is very dirty. And “ canteen” can be improved in terms of cleanliness and food choices. Good place to visit if you love the Sun, Sea and Beach 🏖️
Richard Ng — Google review
It's a quite long and sandy beach. The beach is clean while sea water is not crystal clear but it's clear of any debris. There's also some operators offering water sports facilities. The public washroom is in rather bad condition, could use some upgrade of the facilities in the washroom.
Edmund CWH — Google review
Good beach in penang. One of the fewest option if one wants to have beach experience with all the water sports. It was crowded and not that clean. Water was okay. We just took a bus no 101 from george town to reach here price was somewhere around 2.6 MYR

I enjoyed my time at Teddyville and took plenty of pictures while I was there. My mom was initially reluctant to visit the place as she's generally quite a thrifty person but after some persuasion she agreed and needless to say she had a ton of fun looking at the cute miniature models and taking pictures with the other bigger bears on exhibit. We stayed at the Hilton so we were entitled for a half off discount off the initial entry fee so to me it was well worth it

As a teddy bear lover, I had a blast here, they have many collections and all of them are totally cute and lovely. Some of them are cute and tiny (adding additional cuteness to the storyline they want to perceive), some of them are you usual huggable size and some of them as big as yours (still they're too lovely for the eyes). Totally recommended this place for you guys whom love teddy bears 🧸 or anything cute in general, you gonna have a blast time here.

Loved this place a lot because I'm a big softie when it comes to Teddy Bears! Took many pictures of during the tour in the museum. Although the souvenirs were expensive, I still enjoy the experience and all the cute stuff in there. Recommend all to come here when you are in Penang!

"The TeddyVille Museum in Batu Ferringhi is truly awesome! This unique museum beautifully showcases different parts of Penang's history, culture, and the intriguing Peranakan heritage. One of the standout sections is the Horn Peranakan concept, which offers a fascinating glimpse into the Peranakan culture through carefully crafted exhibits. The museum's attention to detail and dedication to preserving local heritage are commendable. I particularly enjoyed learning about the Peranakan traditions and lifestyle depicted through the lens of adorable teddy bears. Highly recommended for all ages!"

If only this God's gift of nature was properly kept with a safe walking trail, people's lives will be healthier. Now only the monkeys and langurs have all the fun, the occasional wild dog, lots of mossies will challenge you as you walk on loose rocks and construction debris.. On a pre-Christmas hike up to the reservoir, we found streams of water leaking from the PBA valve running down the slope, creating a muddy trail and wasting precious resource.

Frandy Beach Bar & Restaurant is a relaxed and friendly beachfront establishment that offers a diverse menu featuring both Western and Asian cuisine, with an emphasis on fresh seafood. The restaurant is known for its picturesque sunset views, making it an ideal spot for enjoying a meal by the sea. In addition to delicious food and cocktails, visitors can also enjoy live music in this laid-back setting. The restaurant's location near Bayview Beach Resort adds to its appeal, drawing in both locals and tourists alike.
My friends and I went to Frandy Beach Bar every day during our three night stay at Batu Feringghi. The food was excellent! Prices were reasonable and portions generous - just the kind of thing you hope for on holiday. Everything we tasted was good. It’s hard to find fault with anything - but if there’s one thing I’d change, it is the plastic chairs they use on the Sandy beach. Makes for really uncomfortable seating as the chairs often sink into the sand. Otherwise, it was excellent!
anita stephen — Google review
This restaurant is definitely a must try if you're in the area. Located just beside the beach. The parking cost RM2, which is quite okay. Food taste average and their cocktails taste good but not the best. Their menu have plenty of options to choose from. The service is quite fast despite the place being half full. I love the interior, looks messy yet nice. Perfect deco for a beach bar! The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of the flies. They should install a bug zapper.
Gary Looi CW — Google review
I kinda love the decor and environment. A bar with nice food and reasonable price with such a beautiful view, highly recommended for those looking for a place to chill for the rest of the evening. Various choice of foods in the menu, you will find the price is just reasonable when u see the portion
Hui Hui — Google review
The ambiance was great and during the time we visited, it was breezy as well. The food was good, the service was excellent and overall, the deco of this place is amazing! They have bean bags as well so you can chill by the beach. Moreover, there’s live band too. During weekends, they offer fire show from 9-9:30 PM. Though we missed the sunset, we got to watch the fire show. It was terrific!
Devarubini Sathiaseelan — Google review
The ambience and view here is spectacular. Come during sunset. You will be guaranteed a good view. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating. They are only open to walk in customers, no reservation allowed. Ordered snacks (wedges & Hawaiian pizza). Wedges was ok, pizza wasn’t. Cost more than RM30 for a pizza but it was a let down. If you don’t mind paying for the view, then it’s alright. Next time I’ll stick to just drinks and maybe those ready made snacks.
Bernie Chin — Google review
No complains on the ambience and service it's very nice. Let's get down to the food business. Onion rings was a let down. Taste burnt and the color shows. Chicken chop-taste burnt. Honey Mustard Grilled chicken - tasted fair until I tasted the sauce. Sauce taste like condensed milk mixed with butter. Mongolian steak was okay but MYR40 for a piece of meat that's whacked paper thin and bland fries - not worth it. We ordered beef nachos & requested it to be sent to the kitchen back because there was barely any meat. The waiter came back with extra beef and loaded with beef sauce until the nachos was soaked. Please consider downsizing your menu. Not being a Karen-but it is overly priced and food below average. Been here many times for drinks, first time trying the food. What a let down. - Feedback from a Ferringhi native.

Came just after lunch time for a late lunch. Place to ourselves. Great staff, delicious drinks and pizza. We had vegetarian pizza and French fries with Strawberry Daiquiri and frozen lemon drink. All amazing. Thanks for a great afternoon.

The environment and atmosphere are great and the people. But mostly are not Malaysian 🤣. The food we order was not good, the chicken overly cooked and hard texture 😞. The fish and chips were hard and dry. The black pepper chicken was overly peppery. Hope the chef heard our voice and next time when we visit there is improvement of the food. The price isn't cheap😥

Cozy spot beside the beach, reasonably priced and food was tasty. Waiters were alert to all customers even tho tables were spaced out. Food came really fast too. Lovely place to hang out beside the beach while listening to their live band. Would definitely visit again.

Memorable moments with the best of colleagues in the ENT department of Hospital Pulau Pinang at Frandy Beach Bar. This was prior to leaving to the UK. This restaurant is literally by the beach, facing the sea. It's a sandy beach, lovely for chilling and taking in all the sea breeze. When we went, the place was full! Patrons really love the beach vibes here. Just look at the decorations in the pictures! Colourful, vibrant and lively vibes. -Vanilla Milkshake -Mushroom Soup -Hawaiian pizza -Steak -Grilled Chicken -Fish & Chips -Grilled Salmon For occasions and memorable moments, this place certainly has its charm. The location is definitely the reason I'd come for this place

I was super excited to try this place, because the atmosphere is truly magical, especially by the sunset on the beach I visited on 9th of June, and we got seated. After waiting for 15 mins, the waiter finally arrived at our table and explained that 90% of the menu is not available, only the fingerfood and food that is ready to fry, because the chef is busy with another Chinese private party. I asked for one dish as an exception because I really wanted to stay and enjoy the sunset there. However, he said it was not possible. He was talking with a cocky tone that they already wrote on their Facebook page, they weren't available today, but they at least let us sit. I explained that how can every tourist know that they have a Facebook page and check before sitting? I ended up leaving I am giving 2 stars just because of the atmosphere and the restaurant's location

You come here for the view ! Watch sunset with good music is a best time to spend the night . They even have live music (she is good). The food and service were ok but it is definitely worth the view and experience . Oh ya, pay CASH only.

Walked there from our hotel. Nice decoration for CNY. Nice sitting area. A great variety of Western and Oriental food featured in the menu. Our food came within 15 minutes. Highly recommended the fried mee and beef rendang. And for drinks the fresh coconut. We had a nice view of the sea and beach. Took great photos.

We ordered Western food and the quality food is not bad, but won't amaze you I guess. The atmosphere is really great as there will be live bands performing. The view from the bar is also really nice as it is just by the beach. Worth giving a try.

Very nice seaside / beach restaurant serving a wide range of food, from western to local and quite a fair bit of drinks too. Sitting on the beach to enjoy your dinner while seeing the sunset view is simply awesome. The food is OK but the service is good and there's live band too. Highly recommended for those looking to chill and unwind from the busy life pace.

My first time together with some overseas friends. We had seafood platter and a plate of petai fried rice, grill prawns , stingray bakar * * The best so far to go with the shallots chili padi dipping sauce We enjoyed ourselves very much . Because of bad weather we were unable to sit outdoor by the beach

It’s truly a hidden gem! The entrance to the place it’s a little rough and bumpy. But once you step in to this little jewel, it’s truly mesmerizing and relaxing!! The sunset view is the best in town! The ambience, service and food are impeccable! Big portion with reasonable price! Highly recommended and definitely will be back!!

The Garden Cafe at Golden Sands Resort in Penang offers a delightful dining experience with its themed buffet dinners. The "Selera Kampung Buffet Dinner" showcases an array of Malaysian delicacies, including Kerabu, Rendang Chicken, Grilled Beef, Fried Rice and Satay.
Went yesterday evening for their international buffet theme and it was very acceptable. They do have also a promo as: buy 1 free 1 Food was tasty, fresh and a good value for money. Plenty of to choose from. Service was pleasant too! Can recommend it!

We went for seafood dinner buffet. Adults get buy 1 free 1 promotion. Worth it. The bad thing is there were flies over the buffet spread. Most items are not covered. The good thing is they enforced all patrons to wear plastic gloves while taking food

too warm. open air with this type of weather, kill me🤪food was nice, reasonable with RM168 for 2. seafood so fresh, but the dessert corner is a bit normal with little cake, sweet for me and kuih muih, and is not international but local style. the ais cream melt cause of the warm weather. must upgrade the freezer. drink is a negative, no juice and not sure what is the drink, tasted sweet only, but coffee very nice, I think they used Starbucks bean. overall for me worth to eat with the price given.

Had dinner and breakfast buffet. Breakfast buffet is pretty standard hotel buffet, as usual youtiao and breads a bit on the stale side. I like the coffee machine and fresh watermelon juice. Also roti canai was good. They have a kids corner which has low served food, looks a bit weird because it's far away so some fruit flies come. Dinner was quite a good selection and as they had buy 1 free 1 is around rm90 per person after tax. They had a lot of make on the spot meals like choose your own fried vegetables, noodle soup and spaghetti. They didn't refill everything on the weekdays, like otak ran out and that was it. So get there early
Christine Kuan — Google review
Went there for B1F1 iftar. Food was so so I think not even satisfactory. Table setting also quite crowded so if you want to get food need to cross few tables. I only like salmon on the grill stand but it is correct they only served for certain time. When I tried to go for second round the grill stand closed already… They close the stands early, not worth it. Murtabak does not taste like murtabak just taste egg only. Briyani rice also tasteless but the cake on dessert stand changes so keep an eye on it. You might want to taste few selections of cakes there. But main course was disappointing. Will I go there again, absolute no.

Went for the Fisherman’s Feast seafood buffet. Spread was good. Seafood was fresh. However slipper lobster was served later than the rest and was also limited. Taste wise theyre okay. Dessert was great. Had cakes, pies, ice kacang, cendol. Service was great, staffs were attentive.

The experience here was wonderful especially with JALITA who has been very welcoming and professional in her work. She spreads positivity around the guests with her nice smile and accomodating words. The atmosphere is nice supplementing with the general atmosphere at the resort. Nature in its most natural version. Food was good in general except some dishes. However this does not affect the review because there is a wide option of food.

A choice of food, ranging from western, Chinese and Malaysian. Plenty of seating however we were there during a weekday so it might be a different story on the weekend.

We were having buffet dinner there. The atmosphere was bad. There was no air suction machine when the chef was frying the food, so you can imagine that the cooking air and smells had been just open air, and we were surrounded by it while eating. Because it's open air, there's no air conditioning whatsoever, and it's extremely hot.

Been to many Ship restaurants, Singapore, KL & here. Most Ships maintain their standards at reasonable price. A must try is escargot, baked with nice cheese sauce. Also their set dinners - soup, salad with shrimps, steak or lamb shank + cheese at MYR88 & add another 12 for a house wine. 5 star for their value + good food. Other orders like chicken & salmons are also delicious. They have operated here for 50 years, a little old but place is still well kept..

Ordered 2 steaks medium rare. One was perfectly fine albeit need to season them better. The other was raw. Made up to us with a banana split. Overall was fine until the message from chef explaining the steak not cooked evenly was normal due to sirloin fat cap. Almost laughed MAO.
Nick Soon — Google review
The atmosphere inside the restaurant is superb. Steaks taste good. Potatoes, vegetables or salad accompanied the main courses was very small. Its not worth for the price. I know steaks in Malaysia are imported, but surely they can make better portions for salads, vegetables and potatoes. (They're cheap to buy) The dressing for the salad was very vinegary, to me taste like I was drinking a vinegar! I ordered banana split for my dessert and took them 15 minutes to delivered. Anyhow desserts menu wasn't attractive, they're all ice-cream selections. We don't like the seafood chowder at all because its taste not more than tomato soup with seafood in it.

Environment rated 4/5 -It is comfortable and large group dining friendly Service rate 3/5 -Do understand on the cost controlling of using foreigner worker, while need to pick up the language so he can be more confident to serve. -Food waiting time is very reasonable Food quality rate 1/5 -Mushroom soup is watery and way too salty. -Grill fish is too thin, and the fish is too flaky, was expected that the fish is firm with its texture. But it is not. -The French fries seem like over fried, or re-fried as it is too dry even inside. -The vege serve with the meal is totally not fresh. Should at least pick the better one and discard the matured and old vege. -The Ice blended Cappuccino is totally a Iced Cappuccino, blended is missing -The chicken smells like been kept in fridge for long time. -The banana split, with over ripen banana.

Special ship interior design restaurant…food taste okay…just the presentation of chicken a’la king not nice…look like prison meal 😂

The iconic Ship Restaurant sure has unbeatable ambience… Since nothing compares to dining in a place meticulously designed to look like a wooden galleon from Pirates of The Caribbean! However, the same cannot be said of the food - while the Seafood Platter and Baked Fish were okay (along with French Onion Soup), the Cream of Mushroom Soup and Grilled Fish were somewhat bland… And my wife’s Sizzling Chicken came out without the sizzle, despite sitting on a hot plate! This is not a place we will be returning to anytime soon, sad to say - not good value for money (we paid nearly RM300 for the dinner)…
Millennium Falcon — Google review
Look, have I had better steaks? For sure I have had - but … the price is good and the steaks come out promptly. I understand more than any the challenges of staffing a restaurant and the Ship team has done their very best. Good sirloin, value good what more can you ask for? How about a time warp to the 1980s. Let it be fun, not whine about decor or uniforms… otherwise I would have to ask why did you bother coming?
Alun Evans — Google review
As with all The Ships nationwide, there's always consistency when it comes to food prep. Steaks were alright and cooked to the doneness I've always preferred; mid rare. The uniqueness of the ship structure which stood out along Batu Ferringhi makes this outlet popular among the rest. Service may need a little improvement especially during food serving to a table with baby/infant.

The palace is nice but I thought it would be up stairs but it was just beside of the ship in side the ship it is nice old fashioned steak house it reminded my mom of eden steak house... Anyway the in side is nice very good service food was fast but our sizzling was a bit salty but the buns and butter was amazing super delicious but if you want extra buns and butter it was 5RM for 1 bun and butter the salad it okay and the mushrooms soup it okay overall I give it 4.5 star because the sizzling sauce was a bit salty every thing else is perfect

The building where the restaurant is located is in the form of a ship. Looks very grand, majestic.Indeed a still ship fronting the sea, a unique sight at Batu Ferringhi. We ordered black mushroom steak + seafood tomyam soup; Bombay steak + Indonesian oxtail soup.

We went to The Ship @ Batu Feringghi for dinner tonight and were not disappointed. The food was good, service was great, and the atmosphere just what you expect from The Ship. We had the roasted lamb rack, Aussie flown sirloin steak and grilled salmon. The lamb rocked and the steaks were really good. My daughter really liked the salmon although purists might find it a tad over cooked. The service staff were attentive and prompt. I'd read some not so reviewed of the place and was a little wary, but we were all very pleasantly surprised.

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Environment: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Overall Rating: 5/5 Review: This is by far the BEST restaurant I've ever visited. Firstly, the restaurant name: The Ship lives up to its name. It's restaurant is in an actual ship on land, and they attract your attention using neon light signs from outside. The staff in the restaurants are wearing Christmas hats, and inside the ship, there were flags hanging from the top, and even a steering wheel for the ship. There were windows inside, as well as chairs that had a ship steering wheel design. I was really impressed by the menu itself. They had a lot of steak options, including the salmon steak which was the one I got. It really does look like a steak, but it's salmon fish instead! They also give you free hot bread and butter before you get your main course, and there are also dessert options as well. We were lucky enough to see a live lobster being taken out from the water cage, and 10 minutes later it was made into actual food to eat. It was another family who had it, and it was an amazing experience. Would definitely come here again!

Ferringhi Coffee Garden is a charming cafe in Penang known for its lush green surroundings and European countryside aesthetics. The cafe offers meticulously crafted latte art to accompany Italian-style espresso coffee, making it a must-visit for latte lovers. Additionally, the spot is Muslim-friendly, using only halal-certified ingredients in their food. While the food is good but not exceptional, the comfortable environment adds to the overall appeal of this popular weekend morning destination.
Lovely high tea So after the satisfying lunch at Jaloux, we headed back towards Batu Ferringhi. The thought of having coffee came to mind so I looked for a suitable place to stop and enjoy the afternoon. So I drove into Batu Ferringhi area in the hot afternoon, where it was not as congested during this time. Ferringhi Coffee Garden was my destination. Parking was aplenty at the back of the cafe. Stepping into the cafe felt like entering an oasis of serenity, surrounded by greeneries, countless plants with wooden furnitures inside and outside the premise. As much as I wanted to sit outside, the hot & humid weather deterred me so air-conditioned inside it was. HIGH TEA SET - 3-tier tray containing scones, pastries, cakes, sandwiches and mini burgers + a pot of tea. Beautifully presented for photo opportunity and I could not resist ordering this set. Extra flat white & lemonade for the rest. Note: It is actually quite peaceful and relaxing to hangout here. Just dont expect extraordinary quality for their food & coffee and you'll be just fine. Price is slightly on the high side - just so you know that you're paying for the ambience.

Breakfast menu is very limited. It opens only a few days and there are many customers. But staffs are only 2. Foreign male worker is kind and nice but lady staff attitude was really bad. Our table was not satisfied for her attitude. I should have asked to refill tea, chair. And only male worker says good bye when customer leaves. Lady staff is not kind and no service. I did not want to pay 10% service fee. Hope this restaurant improves service if it charges service fee.

Ferringhi Coffee Garden is a hidden gem. Sitting there, surrounded by plants and flowers, feels like stepping into another world. It’s the perfect spot for a peaceful afternoon tea. The menu prices are reasonable, and everything they serve hits the spot just right. What really makes the place shine, though, is the friendly staff and the great food. To be honest our family was planning to get some simple food but the place was a surprise. Price tag it pretty high not gonna lie but the food, ambience and staff (amazing!! Super attentive and gave great suggestions) was fantastic. Our order: Sourdough starters 8/10 Miso cod 7/10 (limiting factor is the price. 100+ is a bit ex not gonna lie) Lamb shank 9/10 (totally worth. Value for money is 10/10) Lamb rack 8/10 (wow. This was a surprise) Australian sirloin 8/10 (could be better. Not a bad steak) Cheese cake 7/10 (it's alright but it aint no huckleberry cheese cake Our waiter was extremely extreeeeeeeemely helpful and atmosphere great. Restaurant
Feringgi Grill at Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa in Penang offers a classy dining experience with creatively designed dishes and a variety of juicy steaks. The restaurant is known for its Asian, Western European, and American cuisines, earning it praise in Penang's dining scene. Located on the mezzanine level of the prestigious Rasa Wing, the restaurant boasts wonderful window views.
Fancy restaurant in Shangri-La. They have a dress code, you have to wear shirts with collar, long pants and shoes. They serve salad, soup at table. Live performance is exciting. This restaurant is a nice place for dating or some official dinner with VIP but can't recommend for family with kids. Their price is expensive but worth the price. One point to be improved is staff service, basically they are friendly and attentive. But please don't sing together with piano live performance. Customer does not want to listen amateur vocal.

Disappointing Night at Feringgi Grill: A Missed Opportunity We dined here for a family celebration, my mother's 65th birthday, and unfortunately the experience fell far short of expectations. Given the reputation and price point of Feringgi Grill, a certain level of service and quality is assumed. Here are the specific areas where our experience lacked: Unwelcoming Arrival: Upon arrival, the reception was unattended. We attempted to flag down a waitress who blatantly avoided eye contact and only approached us at the senior wait staff's instruction. This was further compounded by her subsequent attempt to hand us off to another server, after collecting dirty dishes from the other server and instructing the other server to seat us. This initial interaction felt dismissive and set a negative tone for the evening. It raised questions about the attentiveness of the wait staff, especially for a high-end establishment. Intrusive Service: While promoting loyalty programs (Shangri-La Circle) is understandable, another waitress chose a highly inappropriate moment. Having someone stand by our table, explaining the app to my father, while we sang Happy Birthday to my mother (with a pianist playing, even!) and blew out the candles, was incredibly disruptive and disrespectful. My mother had to blow out the candles because we knew it would have melted away by the time the waitress was done with her explanation. Subpar Complimentary Treat: A hallmark of Feringgi Grill is the complimentary chocolates offered at the end of meal. However, this time, we were presented with a plate of dry, inedible coconut balls. These were essentially compacted flakes that caused coughing fits for several of us. Definitely a disappointing substitute for the usual chocolates and left a negative final impression. Ambience Needs Attention: The restaurant ambience was further marred by technical issues. During breaks in the live piano music, the background music system produced a jarring static sound that became a source of discomfort. We could hear the table next to us requesting that the music be turned off entirely. This highlights a need for maintenance or upgrades to the sound system. I've dined in Feringgi Grill several times and I know this establishment has a rich legacy and heritage in Penang Island. So it's disheartening to see the current state fall short of its potential. I sincerely hope that the restaurant will consider retraining their service staff and investing in an upgrade of the sound system. A restaurant with such a prestigious reputation deserves to deliver an exceptional dining experience across the board. P.S. Food was great, though! Except for the coconut balls, of course.

Holy MUFFINS this place was literally better than heaven. They give free orange sorbet as a pallet cleanser, and I love ice cream. The pasta was flavorful and was great. The steak was heaven on a plate. It had a wonderful smoke ring, the skin had a lovely smokiness and the meat was perfectly tender. The flavor was OUT. OF. THIS. WORLD!!!!!! If I could I would have given them infinity stars. The staff are very very very friendly and know all about what they serve the best service u have ever seen. They also have a live pianist who plays sensational music that floats around the room. The restaurant is clean and we'll served the lighting is perfect and the chairs are very nice and soft. Holy MUFFINS you have to try this. The wine is also very nice and has a great flavor. There is a staff member called Nazri, he is great and the was super duper helpful and kind to my family. If you come here and he is there you can assume you will have a great dinner. He makes this already beyond heaven restaurant to absolute God level. That is all from me Bye!

Utterly disappointing. Totally overrated as supposedly the best in Penang. Lots of theatrics with little substance, if any at all. For starters, service is damn slow. Warm Bread is almost cold when butter is finally served. We waited for a tomato soup to be cooked over flames but it was way too salty; just two spoonfuls will trigger any heart attack. Penang people are way too polite and the establishment too pretentious to call out the emperor’s new clothes. Head over to Andrew’s Kampung, opposite the hotel, with less drama and pretensions but much, much more substance. Btw, the piano music is also way too loud and 2 hours of Muzak is highly irritating. Feringgi Grill’s Food and Service quality are too low for fine dining.

We celebrated NYE and the atmosphere was very sophisticated. Food was more of a ‘banquet’ quality due to the number of people they were serving (I believe there were over 100 people) but it was creative and beautifully presented. Premium crockery, glassware and silverware added an elevated finish. Thank you to Rosidi who was very attentive and couldn’t do enough for us.

I was utterly disappointed with this restaurant. It’s been ages since I last dined there and I decided to bring my family there during my last trip to Penang. I was really looking forward to some nice steaks and to my horror - the restaurant decided to go back to the 1970s menu to honour their past. The menu was largely bare! The food served was very disappointing too. The Amos bouche was served cold (as if it’s been left out in the open far too long after it’s cooked). The restaurant got my wife and my order wrong - instead of medium rare boiled steak, it was medium-well; and my lamb became medium rare. The chef got me a new plate after my complaint and apologised for the mix up. Apology accepted but it kids spoilt my night. Rather a disappointing visit.

Seeing all the good reviews, we decided to try out this restaurant. What a mistake that was. The so called wagyu steak was chewy and tasteless, definitely just a cheap cut of meat. Ordered a side of cream spinach, which turned out to be spinach drowned in soup. Both the preparation and taste of food here is not worth the high prices charged. Suggest to try another place for steak. Kid's Mac and Cheese was good though!

I was there around 7:30pm, the sunset light streamed through the windows, creating an amazing vibe to the place. It makes me feeling kind of fancy so I ordered the delicious Wagyu Rib Eye, while my girlfriend enjoyed the Cod fish. The Hokkaido Scallops were tasty, but some Penang people might find the portions small for the price. The interactive tomato soup and the simple yet amazing potato gratin were highlights. Despite the cost, the experience was positive due to the friendly staff and good food. Just come, not bad. But I’ll give it a four star, five star is too common

Services is beyond exceptional !! Very attentive, very professional and friendly, and very interactive. Safari was the best who is multi tasking 😂🤣😂 serving, making tomato soup, Caesar salad...etc... Really lucky to meet him, who has worked there over 30+ years !! Food is of course so... good !!!! Must try their Japanese Wakyu beef steak. 👍👍👍

Super impressed with the service, esp Catherine. They even gotten my hubby to pass me a rose. ❤️ Hubby loved the foie gras so much he ordered a second helping. Ordered the seafood platter to share and the appetizer sent was crab salad. Ordered negroni which is so strong and hubby ordered old fashioned and wine. Hubby ordered a garden salad and lobster bisque as well.

A hidden gem for classy dining. We prebook our tables through phone call. It’s located at the first floor, so once you reached the lobby you’ll see a stairs to the restaurant. Overall a good dining experience, the staffs were friendly. Among what we’ve ordered, my favourite was the seafood platter which was good and the least favourite will be the cod fish and the crepes. The wine recommendation was fantastic. There’s a discount for dining if you join the Shangri-La circle membership, which was free.
