Restaurant
Lan's Corner Ikan Bakar Sambai Meletop Baq Hang is a popular Malaysian restaurant that opened in October 2016 and has gained a loyal following. Located in Tanjung Bungah, it offers some of the best Ikan Bakar in the area. The restaurant provides a clean and friendly environment, making it ideal for larger groups.
Went here for dinner. Price was quite reasonable. Got playground for kids. Make sure your kids eat first or they might want to play for the whole time without eating! Very strong rind here. Wear necessary clothes when dine in here. This menu in the picture was delicious. We had medium size siakap for only RM28. This restaurant located by the side of the road. Didn't see specific area for parking.

The place was decorated very attractive and the previous rating was good for the food. 4 of us tasted the food was terrible, the sambal not spicy but only sweet. The ikan bakar had no taste. The prawn cooking is using the sambal but only sweet, not spicy or any authentic sauce and not fresh. The soup is only in a salty taste. 😔. The waiter was pretty helpful and friendly, and the food really regretted trying 😔 and pricy too.

Went here with my extended family members, including my in laws, nieces and nephews - about 15 people. Good point - 1- good ambience, enjoyable eating environment and experience. 2- price wise I think very considerable and affordable for 15 people to eat. We ordered set for 8 person which included medium sized siakap and jenahak, calamari, prawns, stir fried vegetables, apple asam boi juices as well as satay ayam. 3- taste wise - pretty much spot on. Not much complaint here, truly satisfied. 4- Their staffs were young and well trained. Although many of them quite young age, they were very patience, quick on their foot and calm to handle the crowd. Point to improve - 1- Parking could be quite a challenge. They do provide parking space for patrons but if only there could be more space. Or else you need to park at roadside. Just ensure you didnt block the entrance at Poslaju office beside the restaurant. 2- Definitely need more staff, because Lan's Corner very well known spot especially for tourists to enjoy their dinner time after whole day going around Penang. Lan's Corner definitely 1 of good choice for tourists to end their visit to Penang with good notes, but given their serving time taking quite some time it might leave some bad review from hungry patrons. Keep it up Lan's Corner!

Restaurant Ikan Bakar but no Ikan Bakar.. went here because we wanted to eat Ikan bakar, they took our order saying Ikan bakar is available. Waited almost 1 hour to get our food, rice came about 20min after.. and that is after chasing them to serve us many times.. we kept on waiting for the Ikan bakar and suddenly they said Ikan bakar was already finish 2hours ago... OMG! If they told us earlier we could have gone to other restaurant 🤬 never coming back ever and not recommended..

Hidup ini kerass!!! Sama juga dengan harga makanan di sini. Enviroment A, if come early easy to park - need to go up. Facilities A, got playground for kids. Service was fast, portion was good. Overall OK except price slightly expensive.

Seriously it's a pretty bad dinner in Penang so called Food paradise. 🤷 we made a wrong decision to have a dinner here. The Pari bakar smells bad, definitely few days old stock. I ordered ikan siakap masak pedas (spicy) but it's sweet as honey. For RM110 for 2 adults and a children, Penang definitely have dozens of better place for dinner. Will never come back and 💯 will never recommend it.

Nice ambience. Restaurant is spacious and can cater for big group. Parking is limited and you might need to park by the roadside during peak hours. We liked all the food plus the price is affordable too. Recommended for those who plan to come to Penang.

Restsurant open around 5.30pm. Waiters were not so kind. Layanan so masam. Toilet very bad n dirty. Masakan melayu with less concern in cleanliness (bad image) Food: sotong goreng tepung and ikan goreng masam manis is great. Must try.

Great atmosphere. Food is flavourful and tasty. Fried squid was crispy with delicious dipping sauces , definitely a must try. Absolutely no complains about the food, it was great. Prices are not exactly cheap but the service is good. Parking is abit of an issue though as there are limited spots by the side of the road.

Was quite skeptical initially to try out this place due to some negative reviews. Decided to go ahead with dining here since it was near our hotel & it opens until late night. Well, not as bad as we thought. Here are some tips 1. Parking - extra parking in front of the restaurant to the left 2. Avoid peak hours, we arrived at around 8.30pm when most people are done dining. We did have to attract the waiter's attention to take our orders since the place was still pretty crowded for one to get noticed, but everything arrived reasonably fast 3. Food portion is quite small, similar to any a la Thai restaurant. The taste is just okay for a la Thai food but their grilled fish is the best. We ordered a second helping. Fish is charcoal grilled, just nice, not overcooked and still juicy. The sauce is tasty, not too spicy. The battered squid is crispy & tasty too. So was tomyam, as good as what we used to have in Thailand. However the size of the shrimps were small compared to what we usually have back home. 4. They do serve delicious cakes Verdict, worth a try, just come at the correct time. Price is reasonable

A healthy and hearty meal 😋 It’s our first time there despite hearing about it for quite a while now. Waiting time was a tad long but they served everything at once and food did not disappoint. We ordered mushroom soup, Mango Pig (wrap with pulled pork and mango salsa) and Chock A Block Spud (Baked potato with pulled pork, bacon, cheese and sour cream). Everything was yummy and we will go back to try out other dishes next time!
Cheryl Lam — Google review
A random try out at this american restaurant. We shared a number of mains. Everyone thought the food was ok and nothing to shout about. Can skip the bacon marinara though. Do order the mushroom soup, chicken with waffle and alice chicken. Gets crowded during lunch but they have quite a number of tables. Staff were friendly.

Food 5/10 Atmosphere 7/10 Price $$ Service 10/10 I ordered Alice chicken, wow.... The chicken was too, too, too  tough and dry to cut with a knife. Too dry.. can not chew.. can not cut it in small pieces. Food portion was big, not tasty. Very disappointed. Fajitas wrap also very big size, just ok. French fries also taste like one day old. I Should go to Georgetown for western food.

We’ve been over here for a total of 4 times by now, and each and every time the wait time was very underwhelming. Food is generally so-so but pretty pricey. Most people come here for the ambience and to spend time with their friends and family; if you come here for the food there are definitely better places to go, but for hanging out this is a decent place. Dog friendly and being close to the park is a big plus.
Chee Yi Ong — Google review
Love the fries (sweet potato as well as ordinary potato). Kids meal-chicken finger really designated for child. They are so tender and not too salty. Pull pork and crispy bacon taste good.
young pooh — Google review
The pulled pork burger was juicy and tasty, definitely not something you get to have everyday.....and with the current seasonal menu - loved their eggnog drink and can't wait to try the rest of the Winter Menu.
Adeline Yeong — Google review
I wasn’t sure what I’ll be getting from here. The recommendations from the waiter is awesome. Food taste and quality were extremely good. 👍🏻
TC Khor — Google review
There's quite a selection. Chose their "mango pig"; it has a good amount of pulled pork and mango cubes...a nice balance of sweet and salty, would be good if it has a bit of sour. The chips are from real potatoes, would be good if they had the options for sweet potato wedges. Overall all good. Will return to try other items in their menu. Staff who served us was very attentive to our orders, he can remember what each of us order and the chances. Amazing since we were a party of almost 15 people. 💪🏻💪🏻

made an impromptu decision to try out this place for brunch and we loved the pancakes and chicken fingers the most. hard to come by good fluffy pancakes these days. pretty good coffees and i appreciate that the space is very well thought out by the owners to make it family friendly.
Amanda E — Google review
We had a very tasty and filling lunch with some of the best milkshakes ever. And still something felt amiss. Fairytales aren't real 😕. To the good first. The pork burger had the juciest pork patty I've had ever. It made for the tastiest burger I've had in Penang. Couple that with some crisp fries, salted just right, and life is good. The two other dishes my family opted for were the chicken rice bowl and Philly steak wrap. The girls were a happy duo and licked their plates clean. Scrumptious food, good portion sizes and well presented. We also ordered the salted caramel pretzel and key lime pie milkshakes. If there was milkshake heaven these might be served there. The calorie count?? Well, nothing that a run tomorrow morning won't shake off. Now why a 🙁 you may ask. The welcome was warm and we were seated comfortably. We placed our orders and the ginger ale my wife ordered came soon. And then we waited. And waited. The place then started to fill up. Other guests who had come before us had already been served. So where was our food? Ok given, probably a hold up with the food. How about the shakes? No sign of them either. Finally, the food arrived and only after that came the milkshakes. Not done. What's worse, the food for all other tables then started to come out in a jiffy. We didn't want to complain, nor was the wait that long that it became disconcerting. My wife and I even took the time to look around at the things on display and sale at the restaurant. But the time lag in our case was palpable. It was evident, no other table needed to wait for as long as we did once they ordered. Anyway, we then got busy with eating. The rest was a belly feast. So a tentative 5 stars overall and 1 star deducted for service. I will be back though 😊.

Very friendly staff, place can be quite packed during lunch hour but settles down after that. Bright and nice topped with great food to eat. Definitely a good place to come with a friend. Can also sit outside if you'd like.

I recently dined at Let's Meat and had a fantastic experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish bursting with flavor and made with high-quality ingredients. The ambiance of the restaurant was perfect for a cozy meal, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. Additionally, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout my visit. I highly recommend Let's Meat for anyone looking for a delightful dining experience.

Went there based on Google review, totally worth it. Lunch date with my best mate for her birthday. The lady whom served us was very sweet and recommended a few meals. The white sauce spaghetti with bacon was creamy and rich. Suggested the jalapeño bites (with cheese filling) & my friend tried the chicken fillet dish ( don't actually remember the name) but it was great too. Best of all, she loved the treat and excited for more visits to the place. Mission accomplished. Recommended for a hang out with good food.

Cafe
Breakfast restaurant
Gusto Cafe, located in Tanjung Bungah, is a must-visit breakfast spot. This cozy cafe on Jalan Tanjung Bungah offers a creative and satisfying menu featuring delights such as soft and delicious croissants, French toast with various toppings, and freshly brewed coffee. The cafe is known for its use of coffee beans from Southeast Asia or a nearby Penang coffee plantation for their on-site roasted beverages.
I like this place as they open early and serve very nice coffee and western breakfast! Salmon and cheese omelette is very tasty as the eggs texture are deliciously soft and creamy, definitely a must try if you like eggs and salmon. I love how the eggs are cooked. Will dropby again when I travel to Tg Bungah.
Liza Choong — Google review
I really wanted to like this place because I’ve been convincing my husband for a while to try Gusto due to the positive reviews online but unfortunately my experience wasn’t great and in the end I had to admit he was right. The ambience wasn’t very comfortable, there was no air con, and the baby chair was very dirty like it hasn’t been sat on for years. We ended up holding our baby the entire time while we ate. We went for breakfast on a weekday morning and there weren’t many options. He ordered a toasted bagel with egg and cheese, I had a Spaniard and a flat white, which was a baguette with egg, garlic, pesto, tomato, lettuce. The food didn’t look appetizing when it arrived, and sadly it didn’t taste any better than it looked. Coffee was okay as were the staff behind the counter. Price was reasonable if the quality was better, but we definitely won’t be returning. As a suggestion, staff should ask the customer how they would like their eggs or specify on the menu to avoid any disappointment. My husband was expecting scrambled eggs and instead he got a sunny side up on top of a slice of processed cheese. He couldn’t complain because he got exactly what he ordered, but it just wasn’t what we were expecting.

Yummy Penang style Peranakan Restaurant Sinkhek located in basement of Gusto Cafe. Family run restaurant, recipes handed down from grand mother. We tried an assortment of recommended dishes. The lorbak was very good as was the fried chicken (inchi kabin) and assam prawns. Unfortunately the otak-otak was sold out as this is very popular. Apologies for not sharing more photos..we were all too busy enjoying the food..lol. Honest, no fuss, good quality Peranakan food. Restaurant is opened Fri-Sun.

Consistently excellent food & service. We really enjoy coming here & will continue to do so as long as we are able. 3 of us visited recenty for lunch. I had a terrific Breakfast Burger & a couple Tiger beer. The girls both had salads, Greek & Caesar. Cranberry scones were very tasty as well.

2nd time here. A few years back, I rmb this cafe serves pretty good coffee. This time I’m back, I ordered a flat white, latte and hot chocolate. Had a breakfast set to share as well. It was ok. Among the drinks, only the hot choc is ok. The coffee was bad, especially flat white. It’s probably the worse flat white I’ve tasted in Penang. There’s zero coffee taste; too much milk as the ratio is totally off. The cup is too big. I think it’s better if they can change to a much smaller cup with stronger coffee and much lesser milk. The place is ok, cozy, but wifi signal is also very weak. With so many cafes around Penang, this is not somewhere I would visit again. I didn’t pay RM10-11 to drink a cup of very diluted coffee that didn’t even taste like one.

Decided to have a simple breakfast here just before going to the market. I had toast with scrambled eggs which were really delightful. The butter was not too much yet enough to add flavour to the toast. I like that they kept the scrambled eggs nice and fluffy with not too much seasoning. Do give Gusto Cafe a thought when you are in the area of HillSide. It is on Jalan Sungai Kelian just beside the Petron gas station. They are upgrading a garden wing by the way. More space and new additions to the menu coming up soon.

orange juice just water and ice, muesli is a milk drink with flavour. just disappointing. and to many dogs. there are better breakfast coffees in town. also with a better long black. opens early. replay to the comment from owner: i mentioned to the waiter about the drinks. and i didn't comment about the ordinary toasted bagel, with separate salmon and separate salade. earlier experience with dogs feeding on table and chairs next to where I'm sitting, is nothing i like to have during my breakfast.

Sunflower - Homemade Cakes @ Tg Bungah, Penang. Sunflower has been very known/popular for its Layer Cake. A lot of flavour Layer Cakes are available now. I used to buy it at ground floor of Komtar - Sunflower Branch along Penang Road. The aroma of Layer Cake would filled the air along the corridor of Komtar. Too bad the Sunflower Branch has been closed down. Now I have to go to # 546-C, Jalan Tanjung Bungah, 11200 Tanjung Bungah, Penang to buy it. The taste is still good and yummylicious.

Bought the Buttercake and Layered Cake back home for family gathering. And the taste? One of the best and ever tasted cakes!!! On the butter cake - nice texture with rich "buttery" aroma. Glad its not so sweet.... And the layer cake is simply excellent. Soft and very rich in favor. And again... Not the extremely sweet. A strong 5 star rating to the taste at a very reasonable price.

We came here for the first time even though we pass it often. If you're thinking of eating the nostalgic layer cakes, here's a great place to get it! The flavour is so good and spices just nice. We also enjoyed the pineapple tarts! Gonna get more again!

Went there to buy layer cake, also bought the Marble Butter Cake, I asked whether is it freshly baked, the old lady replied yes. So I bought 1 original layer cake, 1 orange layer cake & 1 marble butter cake. Totally disappointed, the marble butter cake taste no butter, no butter aroma and it is not fresh. The orange layer cake also hardly got the orange taste, again disappointed. Only the original layer cake taste a bit better than the rest. Totally disappointed, I think those cakes found in the night market is far better than this cake house. Haih... I was looking forward to have a good cake but felt like fall into the black hole.

Chocolate cheese birthday cake is not up to expectation at all. Not only I commented but all the other people who had the cake too. Tastes like chocolate mousse instead. Not even a bit of cheese taste at all. The layer of chocolate sponge was minimal in comparison to the amount of "cream cheese". Even the biscuit layer at the bottom is not fragrant just bland. Very disappointing. Layer cakes here are good! That's why we expected the birthday cake to taste as good.

There's a good enough variety of dishes . The fried chicken is a must! However the sambal is a bit too expensive. Drinks need to ordered in the adjacent stall, which makes it tricky when it's a self-service place. However, the view from the place is pretty good as there's the Floating mosque on the sea.
