We absolutely loved our cooking experience with Alou. She took us to the market we we had delicious breakfast then fried many different fruits, herbs and spices, and learnt all about the different varieties of food used in Malaysia. We then went back to her house and made the most delicious laksa and salad. Alou and Matt were so friendly and welcoming, we had the best day!

Best experience! We felt as if this was such a worthwhile and authentic way to spend our limited time in Penang. Alou was so lovely and very informative throughout our time together. Being able to walk through the markets with a local meant plenty of opportunities for free samples (without the heckling!). We made a delicious laksa back at her house and ate our meal together. Lovely experience and would 100% recommend.

I had a great pleasure to participate in Alou's class today: having a wonderful morning in a good company, starting from the warm welcoming and following with the amazing brunch. We cooked Khar keoy teow, Kangkung with belacan and Onde onde for dessert: the food was simply delicious and all recipes were very well explained! I was so much inspired by this charming lady and passionate Chef to try more new ingredients and explore the new flavours of the local cuisines (especially in such unique place like Penang). Can't wait to go the market with all the new knowledge I got from you, Alou! Thank you!

Approachable, Informative, friendly cooking class Had a great experience at Cooking with Alou - morning started at Tanjung Bungah markets for breakfast and tour of market. Then back to Alou's home to cook some really great dishes which will be easily prepared at home - a lot of the time, cooking classes are great - but you probably won't replicate the dishes at home due to complexity of techniques used, or being able to source ingredients. A really great morning - would highly recommend to anyone wanting to increase their kitchen repertoire. Alou is a great teacher and extremely knowledgeable. Lovely home setting (inside in air conditioned comfort) for the class. Show less Date of experience: October 2019

Last week we had the pleasure of meeting Alou for a morning at the local market followed by a cooking class at her beautiful home! At the market we tastes all kinds of fruit and herbs, Alou is very knowledgeable and gives hints and tips on how to use various vegetables, herbs and spices in local dishes. Her husband Matt shares his local knowledge, including the best way to drink coffee at hawker stalls! We had a lovely time and it felt as if Alou and Matt had all the time in the world for us. We highly recommend getting in touch with Alou to plan your cooking class! Thank you Alou and Matt for showing us a bit of life in Penang! Annet

Me and my wife had a great time with Alou while visiting Penang. She took us to a local market, where we had the opportunity to buy some very fresh local products, then she drove us to her home, where we cooked spring rolls, char kway teow (with a twist), and a dessert with sago pearls and coconut milk. Just delicious. Alou is so gracious and explains all the ingredients and steps necessary for making her recipes in such a way that everyone can make them to perfection. Highly recommended.

My parents and I had a fun morning "cooking with Alou". She takes you to a local market to buy the ingrediets, then you go prepare a 3 course meal to her house, in her fully eqquiped kitchen, I believe it can to host 4 or 5 students and then you get to sit and enjoy what you prepared is very satisfactory. Definitively recommend it to add it to your "to do" list.

What a great experience. We had so much fun. My husband was slightly reluctant to go having never attended any sort of cooking class. He only agreed to do it for me but we both really learned a lot at the market and then again in Alou’s kitchen. He even agreed to attend a 2nd class with me!! The education at the market will help us during our stay here. I can’t wait to try out the recipes when I get home. I’m even going to attempt to make my own cumin powder and curry powder!

Loved cooking with Alou. She is very friendly and a joy to cook with. She was very patient with my many questions. I am already looking forward to another cooking session with Alou, hopefully sooner than later.

Having been to the ones in Paragon and Gurney Plaza, I think this is my favourite. The masseuses were really good and the receptionist was nice. The place is usually less crowded so it was easy to find parking. The outlet has a toilet which is helpful. We went for a 2 hours Thai massage and were very pleased.

Good foot massage but it’s pricey! Thai full body is not my thing ;-)
Michael Lee — Google review
I loveeee the masseuse named Ms. Moo. So welcoming, kind & friendly. Did half body massage & my body felt so light after the session.
Bibi Shaqirah — Google review
It's hit and miss. Sometimes you get a good professional therapist and sometimes you get a one who sucks. Twice already I have had a bad experience. The last one was very rough even though I communicated to her to have a lighter touch. She turned my neck so sharply that my body tighten up and I heard some cracks when she first put her whole body weight on my spine. Today I still have a stiff and painful neck because of this massage. Besides, she massaged areas that were sensitive like the breast area which made me really uncomfortable. I don't trust them to do a full body massage again.
DoIt Right — Google review
I think the Thai Oddyssey salons at Gurney are much better. At Straits Quay the massage tables are far too hard and the masseuses are a bit rough. Not everyone will agree but I go for lots of massages and generally feel better afterwards. This time I just felt pain from the massage which lasted for several days.
Peter G — Google review
I’m from Thailand living in Penang and this is the only Thai massage place I go to. I always do two hours Thai massage and request for the masseuse named Kra-Tai or Mhoo. THEY ARE EXCELLENT. Considering I went to many massage places in Thailand, these two masseuse are one of the best. All my body tension is gone every time after a massage by them. Facility is clean and relaxing.
Chaneenard Saengtaksin — Google review
Very good massages (my wife in particular is very picky and she loved it). Only comment I have is that if you go on a Friday or Saturday around 6-7 pm or later when the restaurants downstairs are playing loud music, I could hear the music in some rooms.
Frank E — Google review
Came here several months ago for the couples ultimate Thai odyssey package. I enjoyed every moment of it. From the scrub, to the milk bath and the massage. Left feeling relaxed. A great way to pamper yourself. Service was also good overall.

The masseur gave me service with a smile. I felt like I’m in Thailand. Worth tipping for the effort you showed me. Massage was up to the usual standard in this franchise. Thank you :)

I love going here for my foot massage and body massage. The place is clean and comfortable!

Thai Odyssey has never failed to disappoint. The overall experience was top notch, and the front desk was accommodating with several last minute changes.

Great environment with skillful massage sifu, took leg and body massage to release the tense muscles after consistent training. Wife took herbal massage with great feedback as well. Worth the money paid, nice to give ourselves a treat after long effort. 😊😊

Overall the environment was clean and amazing. However, during my visit on this Friday afternoon. My masseur massaged my upper back wasn’t on point at all. I tried to communicate but there is some language barrier. Hopefully, this could be improved.

Excellent aromatherapy full body massage had by my partner and I today (separate rooms). Relaxing spa atmosphere with moody lighting, started by a washing of the feet and green tea. Fully recommend

I've been here a number of times for both foot and Thai massage and all staff are very good but I personally have found Aing to be the best. Exceptional skills and rembers preferences. Highly recommended

Really good experience here. I have been to thai odyssey in PJ and here and gurney. All are good in their own way. Highly recommended. Update: Sorry i had to update the review, not sure why they opened their aircond fullblast and it was very unpleasant, the reception simply said they just serviced their aircond, very lame answer

Always a lovely massage and calm atmosphere with great service. Slightly overpriced for what's available elsewhere in the area.

Very good massage, i’ve been looking for more traditional massage for painful area and not just pretty kind where they just give light touch. Massage by Mary and price very reasonable, will come back again

Found this place on the internet. They start of with a jelly soak for your feet for 5 minutes and then another 5 minutes with sea salt. Very happy with their service. Ms Yu did the foot reflexology for an hour. Truly enjoyed it. Will definitely come back 🥰

Low Wan — Google review
Economical and efficient, but a little rough around the edges. Visited for a quick fix to help smooth out some neck and shoulder pain, and managed to do that in 30 minutes. They serve you a small cup of ginger tea to start, and the lady at the counter was very friendly and welcoming. It would be nice to have a few minutes chat with the masseuse just to establish problem areas before starting. Came out feeling not entirely relaxed after being subjected to a rushed and rough experience even though I told the masseuse to slow down and be gentler a number of times because I was in pain. Would return for a regular massage, but not for painful areas that need a little more consideration.

A decent place to get a massage. Affordable pricing and friendly team.
Gerard Chan — Google review
In general, a typical place for massage. As I came in last minute, there was only one masseur. An upgrade of the ambience is much needed as it is a little rough on the edge. The masseur was good and relieved my body aches.
Grace Pelita — Google review
Excellent full body massage. Friendly therapists throughout! Had to go again to experience the foot reflexology/massage package. No surprises. Super bom! Great value for money too. Can strongly recommend!!!

Had a 90 minute massage today with Daisy! Wow, one of the best massages I've had. Definitely the best in Penang! Thank you Daisy!!!!

Authentic Thai massage by real Thai masseuse. Price is considerably cheaper than many in town. Had a terrible neck ache for weeks, turns out to be a 'bubble' wind on the shoulder. So thankful for the Thai lady who massaged for me.
Kylez Lynn — Google review
The behaviour of the masseur is terrible; she is not responding to my request at all. Request to masseur to provide more massage on my back spine and my shoulder because I've a long hour work in the kitchen, and she choose to ignore me. She massaged me using her elbows at my lower end body and legs, and it was more like a torture than a massage which the part are not upon my request to heal. When I asked her can she use her hands instead of elbows she said this is good to relax my muscles. I was in the extremely pain and crying for help condition, still she would not stop "torturing" me. This is totally not acceptable. I PAY for a relaxing massage but ended up with even more painful body go home. Horrible experience with this carezone at Vantage outlet. Definitely not going to return to this outlet anymore.
Michelle Yee — Google review
Terrible place!! When I called they said last call 10pm. I booked 9pm slot when I arrived 5 mins late they cancelled me and gave slot to person walked in behind me so call regular customer. Unethical… and lazy workers looking for early knock off… place like this don’t think they can do any serious massage
Finn M. Ooi — Google review
As a regular customer, I am consistently impressed by their good service and skilful therapists. The ambiance is soothing, clean, good hygiene practice, the staff is friendly and attentive, however you have to communicate slowly (Thai therapy staff) in order to make your request understood before each therapy session to achieve your desired therapy objective. The Thai massage techniques they use have worked wonders for my overall well-being, relieving muscle tension and promoting relaxation. Each session leaves me feeling rejuvenated and balanced. Whether you're seeking relief from stress or simply want to treat yourself, this centre is a place worth visiting and for a very reasonable price to pay.

After just two sessions at this Thai massage parlour, my prolonged shoulder ache was significantly relieved. The therapists are exceptional, and their techniques worked wonders. I'm grateful for the relief and highly recommend their services.🥰
Melean Ewe — Google review
Had a 1.5 hour Thai massage with a masseur name Pat and I must say it was really good. Good strength and on point. She asked a few times if the pressure was alright, and making sure that I am comfortable. And the ginger tea served after the session was also tasty! if got 6 star i sure will gv six star!

This is the worst massage place I have ever been to. My husband and I went to Carezone for massage and the lady took us to a room separated by curtain. I requested the curtain be opened so we can both be together. While I was having the massage I heard the masseuse talking softly to my husband. I can’t hear too clearly because she was murmuring but I heard the word ‘ping pong’ from her. I don’t know what it means but later I asked around from other friends I was very surprised when I found out what it meant. How could the lady asked my husband to ping pong in front of me. That’s ridiculous. This massage place is not meant for couples.

I’m not a penangite so I walked in witoan appointment. My hotel was just near to this massage and just wanted to have foot massage before leaving penang..My husband and I walked in and enquired the Indian receptionist and she was too busy to “layan” us, wasn’t very welcoming (which supposed to be the main job of the receptionist). Probably because we are Indians too.. We walked out and found another massage centre..
Shalny Ramsey — Google review
Coming for 3 years already. Eventhough change masseuse still same result. Everytime i have a nagging problem whichever part of the body, they always solve it straight away. Only complaint is whatsapp can be more responsive. For booking must call in
Faris Imran — Google review
I came here for a Thai massage. The therapist started giving me an oil massage. When I said that I wanted Thai massage she said oil massage was better for me. The massage was ok. For some reason she only massaged one leg. She kept answering her phone throughout the massage. Overall it wasn't a good experience. My parter had an oil massage and said it was good. 60RM for a Thai massage, 65RM for an oil massage.
