Beautiful walk on easy paths, river, the waterfall is located at the farthest distance from the entrance. Distances are indicated at the entrance. The caves built by the Japanese and the Dutch to 'keep' their prisoners are spooky. Beautiful nature with many tall mahogany trees growing along the way. Some monkeys, but they're peaceful. A great way to spend a day out. Easy for the kids too.

Nice place to do hiking with kids or friends. You can go to see some deers or waterfall. You can also see the cave which was made in the conolialism era. Learning a bit history while strolling around in the forest area.
Koji Domoto — Google review
A nice place for doing little hiking and also for spending time with family .
They have 2 caves called Japan caves and Dutch caves, these caves are proof about Dutch and Japanese colonialism in Indonesia.
They have a deer breeding area and we can feed the deer too. But please be careful with monkeys here, they will chase you if they see you bring snacks, and don't worry about food or drinks because there are some shops where you can buy food and drink in the area.
There is also a Batik Batu and Omas waterfall with amazing views around, overall it was a wonderful experience.
Entry ticket is 15.000 rupiah
Insurance ticket is 2.000 rupiah
And if you use your own vehicle a parking fee will be added.
Please give me a thumbs up if you think my review is helpful and ask me anything if you need more information, thank you ☺️

A quite decent forest park in Bandung.
It is vast with lots of greeneries around. There are a lots of trail that can be explored. It has historical places also like the Japanese and Dutch Cave. There are guides around the cave if you want to learn the history.
There are also some mini cafes around that serve drinks. But some places of the forest is very crowded and not that clean.
It has a good parking places but it is quite full in my visiting time around weekend. The minus point is the access that passed through a narrow way and not easy.

Like the forest but not the cave , some chilling historical background. Enjoy strolling in this beatuitiful botanic garden. But the lake is dirty

It was such a great morning walk. The air is fresh with tropical forest smell. You can see lots of monkeys (remember don’t feed them!).
The view was amazingly beautiful. This place is a great escape from a busy hustling city like JKT.
Cleanliness wise - I could see quite a lot of trash around the park.
I had a great time here 😍

Taman Hutan Raya Ir. H. Djuanda in Bandung is a true gem for nature enthusiasts and history buffs alike. This expansive forest park, often referred to as the green lung of Bandung, offers a rejuvenating escape with its dense canopy, meandering trails, and refreshing air. The well-marked trails cater to both casual walkers and avid hikers, each path offering its own unique view of the park's diverse flora and fauna.

We went there to visit Gua Belanda. To get there, we had to do some trekking in the forest, which is very nice. Inside the cove, we had a tourist guide (a local) guiding us.
It was a nice insightful date ❤️

Nice sanctuary for Bandung people. There are more and more cafes within compare to the situation back then in late 90s or early 2000s and I hope the management will limit them so that it still looks more forest.
The public toilet near the entrance is relatively clean, the officers are relatively nice and friendly.

Djuanda Forest Park is fun for a morning walk with friends or family. The air is fresh with the aroma of tropical forest trees. The view is amazingly beautiful.
You can see a lot of monkeys (remember not to feed them!) or walk while eating, because your food will be stolen by them.
In terms of cleanliness - I could see quite a bit of trash around the park.
Inside many sellers of boiled corn. There is also a cafe to take a break while enjoying the outdoors
You can go to see some deer or a waterfall. You can also see caves made in colonial times.

The location is well preserved and like a maze and bit spooky 🤪. It is also a good place as an alternative to refresh your day, while admiring the surrounding scenery. Hope the local management can tidy up the road to make it better

Had a 30 minute walk in here. The view is good but there is little to no other attractions in here other than the caves or waterfall. The footpath is really sloppy and dangerous to go when it is raining.

Juanda forest caves are a must visit if you are in Bandung.
They are a short 7 km drive from Bandung .
The caves were prisoner camps used by the Japanese and the Dutch.
The caves have bats, so watch out. They are quite spooky, use the torches that are available to borrow outside the caves for a small fee.
The place has a beautiful view of the mountain forests, so don't miss that.
Beware of the monkeys are they are wild and can be aggressive. Best to avoid eye contact and quickly walk away if you ever encounter one.

Went here may 2022.
My first time hiking and I didn't know back then it was a hiking spot. We used flip flops and luckily we didn't fall along the way to the final spot and back.
It was slippery & a lot of wild monkey in the middle of the way. All the caves was good. It was kinda weird because of the cold air in the caves, because as we all know how's the temperature in Indonesia and outside the caves was hot. The last & longest cave was the coldest one, actually it wasn't 'cold' but it was like there was an AC in the cave.
Honestly I might not inisist to went here if I knew it was a hiking spot since I can't hike. I was mesmerized by the google images with the bridge & the deer spot (final
spot) but unfortunately the bridges was permanently closed and as seen in the picture it was full of wild monkey.
As for the final spot I was really disappointed because the deers was really thin and didn't even have any antlers. It was really different with the google images.
Beware when you walk & also your stuffs, don't hold any foods in hand as the monkey will snatch it aggresively.
Honestly I was disappointed with this experience all this time until I knew that it was a hiking spot, so it was my fault but luckily the caves was pretty good at least.

It's a forest park conservation in Bandung that's quite huge. It's nice to go walking/hiking in this place with your family and friends.
The entrance fee is cheap (Rp15.000 per person if you're Indonesian and Rp55.000 for foreigner).
The walking path is quite smooth, you can bring your toddler and use a baby stoller.
There're several food vendors inside this forest, but be careful with monkeys. The monkeys can steal your food if you're not vigilant.
The main spots in this forest are: Japan Cave, Dutch Cave, Deer Sanctuary, Batik Waterfall, and Omas Waterfall.
Andri Iesmail — Google review
Idk but my personal opinion.
1. I HATE that slingshots are sold inside this area as I heard people said it's used to scare monkeys there. MY OPINION, OKAY. But who are we to come to their homes as tourists? Like, who disturbs who.
2. It's good to try to make such a place to be more inclusive, although it looks a bit awkward (ramps all over the place inside the forest and signage for people with vision impairment, but the entrance and several spots are not really accessible for them)
3. I went on Sunday. It was idr 17k/person, if you bring a car, then add 12k, if motorcycle, then add 6k (paid in advance at the entrance). It's not included the parking fee.
4. Better bring a real flashlight if you want to explore the caves (my phone fl was nearly useless, really).
5. Better be ready with your outfits. During the sunny day, it's still hot despite the cold weather (went in mid-January 2024). It's not a long walk to the caves (one way, it would be around 2km).
I will still visit this place, though, cuz I love mountains, greenery, trees, and the view! I want to explore more. Be careful during the rainy season 🌧

Nice forest. Big area. Clean air. Good pathway for walk
Sundari Oetojo — Google review
A pleasant area for a morning walk. What a surprise: the footpath had been rebuilt all the way to the top (to the deer refuge and waterfall).
The clean and pleasant air draws me back every time I visit Bandung. Aside from that, there are many historical treasures to admire for their beauty.
If you come here, be wary of wild monkeys; they don't harm us, but if we bring a bag, it will be taken away.
There are many rest places here, and they serve drinking water and traditional fried meals (i.e banana fried, bakwan and etc.), as well as fresh young coconut.
The better management, the more enjoyable it is for all ages.
Dessy Febrina — Google review
i really recommend all of you here, especially since the place is very cool with lots of pine trees. you can also clear your mind by taking a walk in the forest with friends or family. and we can also see the Japanese and Dutch caves, we will know how the place is and its history. you can hire a guide there to find out the history. moreover, there are also many waterfalls here and there is also a deer sanctuary, which is highly recommended. there are many kinds of flora and fauna here.

The Maribaya Natural Hot Spring Resort is a popular tourist attraction located in Bandung. The resort offers beautiful views of the cityscape and offers a variety of attractions that can be enjoyed by visitors. Popular features at the resort include the warm springs’ name, Curug Maribaya, which make it an interesting destination to visit. In addition, the resort has comfortable tents for easy camping as well as luxurious showers and bathrooms.
Love the view.. with fresh air. Worthy with the money. 35K /person (local price) 70k / foreigners.
Which is not too bad price. The have nice water fall. We couldn’t enjoy the hot spring because was raining. Really Recommended to go and visit!

This place is kinda great, the place itself is nice lots of open spaces, chilling spot, and a pretty cozy cafe and restaurant. The issue is there is only 2 pool, Deluxe or VIP (I only see these two when visiting) and both are quite small for a natural hot spring place. That being said this place is clean, provide a nice view, and if you are lucky you can find monkeys taking a bath with you.

A well organized scenic spot with lots of green plants, hot spring and waterfall. It is good to spend half day here, enjoying and relaxing yourself with natural environment. Photo shooting inside is wonderful and unforgettable experience. Visiting the resort on week days definitely gives you the best quiet and peaceful atmosphere.
If you are hungry, you can try the Eastern and Western cuisines at the cafe beside the waterfall. Foods are yummy and delicious. You can fulfill your stomach easily. However, the location is at the hairpin turn, it is really easy to miss it. I think that's why it's banner is placed before the resort in 2 directions. Have fun and enjoy.

Very nice place. Refreshing when getting out of the city but the pools themselves are not natural. It looks more like a swimming pool then a natural hotspring. Otherwise lots of activites for the family here and amazing views of the waterfalls and rivers.

I had an amazing stay at Maribaya Natural Hot Spring Resort. The location is stunning, surrounded by lush greenery and natural hot springs. The place is well organized but several things are not really maintained. The hotspring is quite good but have to wait for some time if you want to take the private hotspring.
But I am dissapointed when seeing the rabbits were not treated well. Most of them were having disease. You should treat animal better!

I went to this place for vip pool hotspring.
For the owner/management of this place, your toilet and bathroom for vip pool is not appropriate, very messy, very dirty and old.
It looks like never been clean for years, even the door and walls are all messy and dirty with soap residue.
Either build a new one or you should make sure your staff you’ve paid work to clean.
I like the vip pool, i dont mind to pay 90k rupiah for this but I definitely do not want to come back when the bathroom & toilet stay the same…
I also notice most spot also looks not maintain well…
It surely can be a better place if they maintain well
Helvy J — Google review
The place has a great view of nature, and there's rabbits and alpacas too. I really like the view. But because I went with rainy weather, and there's a landslide recently, the water turned brown, and there's not much to explore. So I suggest when you want to come here, have some research on the weather, the news about there nearby, and etc. Stay safe guys.

The scenery was amazingly beautiful
We enjoyed being here overall
The entered ticket was 35.000 each but if you want to swim in the hot spring pool you have to pay 90.000 each but if you have a voucher you just have to pay 75.000 on the VIP pool/kolam rendam area
There was a general pool for children but unfortunately that was closed
There was a playground also for children, it was quite big
But it wasn't too clean for the toilet and the washroom

Looks like it hasnt been taken care off for quite some time. Needs lots of major cleaning and fixes. Many attractions/spots are no longer in service, including most pools and others that are being advertised on and off line. It really has great potential for local tourism attractions around the area. The developers need to work more on the facility.

I recently stayed in Family Tent 705 and requested to move to same category tent 711 due to problematic unpleasant toilets odour and dirt from the top kept on falling on one of the bed made it unusable.
I have concern on observed notable differences in amenities between tents of the same category, despite both being charged equally at a significant price of IDR 6mio per night. Specifically, tent 711 comes with living room, air purifier and hair dryer that the other doesn't have at all.
Regrettably, it appears that the rest of the amenities and common areas are not kept to the expected standards.
I kindly request your attention to this matter and would appreciate any clarification or resolution you can provide. Ensuring uniform standards within a category will not only enhance customer satisfaction but also maintain the credibility of your offerings.
However, hospitality and services by the staff is commendable, especially from Pak Dudung F&B.

Mt Papandayan is an active volcano standing at 8,747 feet with four craters and mud pools. It's a popular choice for beginners as the camping ground can be reached after just a 2-hour trek. The trail is easy and dotted with food stalls at every checkpoint, making it a fun hiking adventure in Garut.
Very nice mountain to hike even if you are a beginner. Facilities are okay (toilet, canteen, mosque). Path and signs are clear and good. You can finished all the attractions here (main crater, ghoberhoet, pondok saladah, hutan mati/dead forest, tegal alun) just within a day without camping. I personally started from Camp David entry point at 9 AM, and finished it back at 4 PM. Be noted a proper hiking outfit is needed especially hiking shoes, raincoat and jacket.

very easy trail,a lot of food stall every check point,a fun hiking adventure in Garut. what I love is the views or scenery is not homogeneous,so almost every 10 minutes the scenery changing.
my recommendation route if u want something challenging for one day hike: Hike until "Post 7" up until gooberhoot-> choose the extreme route to Pondok Saladah-> continue to Hutan Mati (Deadwood) -> down to Post 7 again-> go to the crater-> back to starting point with different route.
here some footage form The Crater trail to starting point.

Papandayan was the right choice for the first hike. The path that is almost flat makes it easier, even when i go last time, some people bring their kid. also their pet. You can use a porter to bring your luggage or yourself all the way to the top to lighten your walk. Papandayan have the biggest edelweiss field in southeast asia. Don't worry, there are lots of stalls at the top, more crowded than usual. its family friendly even for elder. the tropical forest and the garut’s breeze was great.

Darajat Pass is a picturesque hilly area that boasts an aquatic center featuring a natural hot spring pool and water slides, alongside various dining options. To access the location, visitors must drive uphill and pay an affordable entrance fee of 30k/person and 5k/car park. The facility has three pools; the first two have thrilling slides while the third one, located at the highest altitude, is solely for hot spring relaxation with depths ranging from 150-190cm.
Darajat Pass is located on top so you need to drive uphill. You will be charged 30k/person and 5k/car park, its cheaper compared to another hot spring resort around Bandung. There are 3 pools, the first and second pool has slides. The third pool or the highest are basically just hot spring pool with 150-190cm depth. There are also rooms and stays. Some people brings mat bcs the bench are mostly occupied. It’s better if you come here at night 😊

2. Few different pools to suit kids and adults. Nice slides.
3. In front of our room has an artificial green field for kids to run around.
4. There is alfamart right beside the hotel.
Room for improvement
1. No spoons provided in the pantry. Make it difficult to make tea and coffee.
2. The pool water has lots of residue in it.
3. Breakfast is below average. Very limited selections. Fried Chickens are hard.

Came here at 1AM in the midnight (the place is open 24 hours). In those freezing air, swimming in this natural hotspring just so perfect and refreshing, though it could feel a little too hot in the beginning. There's also a hotel just aside of the pool.

It is suitable for family entertainment tours, especially children's water games. The hot spring pools are very representative and can be chosen according to your needs. The atmosphere of the surrounding environment is also attractive and has beautiful views. Don't worry, you can soak in the pool full 24 hours as long as you enjoy it with warm water.

(Translated by Google) For a cool place, not too wide but comfortable and clean. The swimming pool and wading pool are comfortable, clean, and instagramable. Facilities such as toilets, rinse places, prayer rooms, and seats are comfortable and clean. The service is also good, guests are greeted and escorted to their seats. But for the food it doesn't match the price, the price of the food is overpriced when compared to the taste and portion of the food.

The Cangkuang Temple, an 8th-century Hindu-Buddhist temple, is a historic and unique place located in the peaceful subdistrict of Leles Garut. This compact temple is situated on a lake known as Situ Cangkuang and can be reached by raft. Despite its small size, the temple's location creates a distinctive atmosphere that sets it apart from other temples. Visitors are also recommended to visit Kawah Kamojang, a stunning natural geothermal site nearby.
One of the tourist attractions in Garut. Quite far from the main road but paid off with a beautiful view. Cheap entrance tickets. To get to Cangkuang temple, you have to take a long raft. Exciting. It is quite organized & well maintained by the owner. Facilities are adequate. #2020

Located in the subdistrict of Leles garut, about 5 km from Bandung-Garut protocol stad.Tempat quite unique, the temple is located in the middle of the lake / situ cangkuang.
To reach the temple we can pass it by raft first. Although the temple size is very small, but make the atmosphere feels different from standing upright this temple. Very Unique.
Moffy Pamungkas — Google review
It was a good place to escape from your hectic days. The temple situated in a small island surrounded by a lake. The Island inhabited by five households. The tiny village have a good amounts of land for farming and the entire area near the temple served as a graveyard. There's no historic record about who build up the temple. As a local heritage site the area was well preserved. You pay to pay IDR. 5000 for admission fee, IDR 5000 for raft to cross the lake (frankly speaking, you'll have to pay more) and IDR. 2000 each time you use their toilet.

It's quite unique from my point of view. Though i born and grown up in West Java, it's my 1st time visiting Cangkuan Temple. This 8th centuries Hindu site is one of very view historical site remain from that period. Sadly, the government didn't put enough restrictions in how visitors should enjoy this particular tourism spot. Children climb up to the site is my biggest concern, while the parents don't even bother to get them down even some encourage them to climb up for the sake of photograph. Pity. Another concern that i really can't get it, it is allowed to do picnic within the site (around the temple). Though reminder to keep the site clean and many trash bins provided, my personal opinion it shouldn't be. Indeed education and discipline among my beloved brothers and sisters are not equally valued, yet, government should act as the order-keeper to ensure the behaviors perform properly at such national treasure site, to keep it sustain as long as possible.
I visited the site after Eid al Fitr holiday ends however school holiday starts 😅 so it was quite crowded. We need to cross over the lake of cangkuang (situ cangkuang) to reach the site but if you're an adventure seeker, there is path you can walk through to reach the site. Bring a mask, during dry season/summer, the way to reach the site is quite dusty. Crossing the lake isn't bad option specially if you come with your loved ones, can take some good shots. I reach the site from Bandung by public transport from Cicaheum Bus terminal and walked to Candi Cangkuang to enjoy the view (though many motorbike service-indonesian called it Ojek, or chariot pulled by horse-Indonesian called it Delman offered through the way)
Entry fee is affordable, less than 1USD. Though when i came it was raised abit due to holiday season, still less than 1USD. The same for bamboo boat fee. The site itself was surrounded by locals cemetery and also paddy fields (not the pretty one but still refreshing to eyes when you see green field around). Toilets available outside and within the site but i didn't utilize it so can't advise it's hygiene standard.
Same as many local tourism spots in Indonesia, the infrastructure to reach the site and parking facilities just super so so. I don't know even if it was up to national standards.

candi means temple. this single temple could be reached by rakit (boat made from bamboo). another exitement is the kampung (village) equpied by local people that still live traditionally. the scenery is good.

It need to go there by 'rakit' or kind of boat made from bamboo, There's a temple there, and a 'makam' of Eyang Panembahan Arief Muhammad from Mataram beside the temple . And also a village which called Kampung Pulo. Very interesting..

Very good summit. Easy even i'm going with my toddler. She feels very happy. At the crater we can see beautiful scenery, view of tasikmalaya city. It just about 500 stairs. Fresh air. Public facilities is enough. We can choose the stairs to crater, 500 or 700. We also can see the waterfall, water are from the crater. It's not natural waterfall, but it's good enough.
Emma Eryanti — Google review
I think Mount Galunggung is the main tourist destination in Tasikmalaya and fortunately it's not to far from the city center, it'll take you less than 1 hour to reach by motorbike. The distance is less than 20kms, (18 kms to be precisely).
There are 2 stairs to reach the top: the blue stair and the yellow one. The blue stair has 550 stairs on the other hand the yellow one has 620 stairs. I always take the blue one since the road is better.
I recommend you to come early in the morning while the fog still covers the atmosphere, it'll give you more dramatic view.
There are some canteens in the parking area as well as on the top of the mount.
The thing I don't like in this tourist destination is that we can find a lot of rubbish everywhere. Too bad!
DMX — Google review
You gotta climb up and take those 620ish stairs (the yellow one!) to get the great view of the crater. Yet, it's worth doing. Like in any other places in this country: cleanliness thingy should be the major concern of the people. Bawa kantong sampah masing-masing bila main dan snacking di kawah.
Pipit Prihartanti — Google review
We chose not to pass via ladder and tracked the footpath. Galunggung has a magnificent view. But some stupid visitors ruin it by throwing their garbage everywhere.
Rista Sanjaya — Google review
Mount Galunggung is a volcano with an altitude of 2,167 meters above sea level, located about 17 km from the center of Tasikmalaya. This mountain has erupted several times, the most terrible in 1982, as long as 9 months.
After several years, this mountain became a beautiful tourist area. To reach the summit of Galunggung, a ladder has 620 steps. At the top you can see a vast and beautiful crater. Besides that, you can enjoy a very beautiful city over view.
Unfortunately, as a tourist place that has been for decades, it’s not managed professionally. Garbage is scattered everywhere, confusing vehicle access, it is less attractive to foreign tourists. The government needs awareness for better arrangement.

Read its history before you visit this place so that you can understand its context with Cirebon history. The caves themselves present mythical appearance or horror visual display.

If it is your first time coming here, you should be taking their tour guide to get better understanding of this historical site significant . Else, you will wonder around without knowing much of each specific "cave" historical story and the "benefits". Recommend to come here before 10am, so you can enjoy the place with minimum sun exposure and humid sunny weather. You can complete the whole tour in less than 2 hours and an activity that you can start after your breakfast by having some walks.

Spacious parking, clean and comfortable mosque for worship. guests visiting Cirebon and stopping by for prayers and religious tourism continue to grow. It's time to increase the number of women's toilets. Interesting architecture, able to accommodate large numbers of worshipers. For early morning worshipers who need breakfast, there are street vendors around the main square and mosque. There is also an application for those who want to make non-cash donations. The courtyard of the mosque continues with the square of the Attorney General's Office. The appearance of the main square gate is very beautiful, combined with a beautiful garden. At-Taqwa Great Mosque
Masjid Raya At-Taqwa is a most beautifull mosque in West Java. It is in Jl. RA. Kartini no 2 Cirebon.
At-Taqwa Mosque or At-Taqwa Grand MASJID is a historical mosque in the city of Cirebon, West Java, founded in 1918.
Today it is one of the congregational masjid in Cirebon and considered an icon of the city of cirebon.
The masjid also provides Islamic learning as well as public services such as blood donation and a free ambulance.
The masjid was founded in a village called Kejaksan. Initially, it consisted of two sections; one is used as the masjid called Tajug Agung (the present At-Taqwa Masjid) and the other half is used as an alun-alun (the present Kejaksan Square).
The mosque was initially named Tajug Agung, but due to the aging structure and the rising demand for an increased prayer capacity, R.M. Arhatha, then head of the Cirebon city Council of Religious Affairs had the idea to renovate Tajug Agung and rename it to At-Taqwa Mosque.
The name Tajug Agung roughly corresponds to the "Great Mosque" and as there was already a great mosque located in the Kasepuhan (the present-day Great Mosque of Sang Cipta Rasa), the officials considered two mosques with the name "great mosque" is unjustifiable. In 1951 the reconstruction of the mosque began and it was inaugurated as At-Taqwa in 1963.

Keraton Kasepuhan is a historical palace built in 1447 and open to the public as a museum. It features stunning old architecture, mostly in white, and offers guided tours with friendly and informative guides who share fascinating stories about its rich history. (Translated by Google) You can hang out relaxing under the cool trees on the edge of the beach. The atmosphere is serene with sea breezes and views of the waves. Really nice for chatting/gathering. Plus young coconut ice and mrndoan anget... Heaven on earth... 💓💓👍 but the beach area has a lot of rubbish ruining the view, apparently because it doesn't get enough attention from the relevant agencies. Hopefully it will be fixed quickly, because Pemalang has good tourism potential.

(Translated by Google) One of the Widuri areas is usually used as a motorbike racing area, as well as a place to hang out and vacation for Pemalang residents. The landscape is more beautiful when compared to Pantau Widuri on the west side where the road goes through to Tanjungsari, with rows of cypresses that give a shady impression.
On the east side of the circuit area there is also an archery practice area. This place is always busy with visitors every weekend. If the weather starts to get hot towards noon, try stopping by the stalls around the beach and ordering mendoan and drinking hot tea or young coconut water, it's really relaxing.
Since the start of the pandemic until now, the circuit area has been open from morning to six in the afternoon. Entrance tickets start from 2,000 rupiah.

Sejak awal pandemi hingga kini, area sirkuit dibuka sejak pagi hingga pukul enam sore. Tiket masuk mulai dari 2.000 rupiah.

The Pekalongan Batik Museum in Central Java, Indonesia is a dedicated space showcasing the traditional art of batik. The museum houses an extensive collection of batik motifs and designs from Pekalongan and its surrounding areas, offering insights into the development of batik from the Dutch era to the influence of Japan during World War II. With over 1,200 pieces on display, visitors can explore the history, evolution, and cultural significance of batik through themed exhibitions.
My favorite Batik Museum.
The visit was taken in 2020.
The museum is located in the center of Pekalongan, so very easy to go there.
The number of batik on exhibition is large, with brief introduction, it would be better if English version introduction could be provided.☺️
Personally I prefer Pekalongan style batik, the colorful floral pattern is an ideal symbol of the tropics, where I love most.
The tour guide will explain the features of batik to visitors if visitors wish, the whole duration is free of charge.
Thanks the kind tour guide lady, because I have been keen to know more about Indonesians’ batik, her assistance was of great help.☺️🙏
Visitors may choose to make a batik by stamping the wax on a piece of white cotton cloth, to experience the procedures of creating a piece of batik.
It is a really wonderful experience, and hope to go to the museum again in the near future.

Hotel is bad, dirty. See the real picture. This is the superior room. I booked 2 room and ask front office if we can have both rooms at same floor. They said it only available on other building. Since we already bring down all our luggages to the building for check-in and we have 2 elder with us, we asked if they can help us to bring our luggages to other building. They replied we can take it in our car to that building. Ok with no help offered, i decide it is fine to have the room at different floor compared to the trouble moving to next building. Unfortunately, another dissapointment is what i got once i entered the room. Bed is deflated when i sit on it.

Dieng has not this spiritual meaning and feeling anymore.
It's a place for tourists who want to take posing selfies with the temples in the background.
The village and the whole surround needs urgent a new waste concept.

Sikidang Crater is a must-see attraction in Dieng, Central Java. This large volcano is still active and features a crater emitting natural sulfuric gas, creating an otherworldly landscape of barren land and boiling geysers. Visitors can explore the area using a long wooden bridge that provides stunning views of the volcanic formations and steam rising from the ground. The valley's yellow-green hue from sulfur adds to its surreal beauty.
Otherworldly sulphuric volcanic 🌋 ash barren land, ever boiling geyser, long wooden bridge to get around above the craters.
Sikidang crater is constructing new buildings for retail and accommodation.
The valley is yellow green from sulphur. The crater releases gases incessantly. In effect, the crater valley is not suitable for plants, all barren land and geyser plus vapours. So otherworldly.
New wooden bridge "jembatan Kahyangan" is fully completed to get around the craters. 👍🏻 But the bridge ruins the out of this world scenery 😂
They no longer allow visitors to get too close to the geyser. No more cooking eggs 🥚🥚 in boiling geyser.
They provide some gazebos.
In overall, the new renovation makes this place better.

It's a right place for those who wants to study geology. The view and the Carter are great. You can see the bubble because of the boiling water. Prepare your nose, cause the sulfur's smell so strong.

Crater that pouring out gases and steam from the ground up. Still not sure about the safety of the visitor. It was not clear whether the gas is safe to inhale for a period of time. There should be more safety education around.

Sikidang Crater, nestled in Dieng Plateau, Indonesia, captivates with its steaming fumaroles and vibrant yellow sulfur deposits. This active volcanic site offers a surreal landscape, providing visitors a unique and otherworldly experience. Another great experience that we had in Central Java.

Just so - so.
There are several craters here. To reach the crater point you have to walk through wooden bridge for around 5 minutes. There is also an Arjuna Temple here. Ticket included (one ticket for two destination).
Ticket price : @Rp. 20K (sikidang crater + arjuna tample included).
You can also see the PLTG (electricity power plant - geothermal based) managed by Geo Dipa Energi on the other side.
the drawback of this place is that the exit is very far, you have to go through the food and souvenir market which winds up more than 5 times (it just makes you tired).
Overall, the view is so-so. What I remember the most is a boring and exhausting way out. Honestly, I don't want to come here again, if the exit conditions are still the same.
Syaqoful Fikri — Google review
One of the must-visited place when you're in Dieng. Well-managed, the route through craters are very well maintained, clear signages and great photo spots. Too bad there are still people who throw their trashes around the crater, maybe need to have more trash bins along the paths.

Telaga Warna is a picturesque lake surrounded by dense forest and steep vegetable terraces. The water of the lake displays a variety of colors, ranging from delicate turquoise to rich cobalt blue due to the presence of high sulfur content. A concrete-paved trail encircles both Telaga Warna and its neighboring lake, Telaga Pengilon. Visitors can enjoy their picnic in peaceful seclusion while also taking advantage of opportunities for hiking through the nearby terraces.
Coloured lake or more commonly called Telaga warna is a unique lake due to natural phenomenon that causes the water of the lake to change in fluctuating colors. The color change frequently and naturally, it has high sulfur level that causes the color of it to change.

It is situated in the Dieng hills. While going here from Yogyakarta, you will be passing on the hilly roads having coffee plantations or farms on either side.
The main attraction here is the lake which show different colors, hence the name 'Telaga Warna' which translates to 'Color Lake' in English.

Good place to gdo, spending time to find peace (especially around low season). The area is wrapped around hills and mountains, giving ultimate chill situation. The lake is looking great as how it used to be, they are providing a lot photo spots nowadays, so you can go and enjoy taking pictures here. There's a lot of resting and hangout area, unfortunately when I come here they are in the middle of low season and currently in fasting month, so not all the hangout place are open. The caves that are located within the lake giving me ultimate peace (since no one are visiting), I can hear the sound of nature, it's cold and so calm. I walk around 5 minutes from Batu Tulis, take a leap and back to Batu tulis again. Over all this place is giving you chance to reconnect to nature very well (especially during non-holiday season)!

It's a good place to visit. The view is better when we see from the top but is beautiful also when we are going around this place. Just visit.
Farid Khamidan — Google review
Went there in November 2020. 2-hour scenic and continuously-uphill drive from Yogyakarta, is very peaceful. You may open your car windows to enjoy the fresh, cool air instead of the AC. If you are sensitive to the cold, wearing several layers of clothing is recommended as the Dieng Plateau is located above 2000 m above sea-level.
You would likely need to park in a seperate lot near stores and restaurants, a 3-minute walk to the lake. When I went there, I entered using a bundled pass giving access to three tourist attractions in the area, which is not too much more expensive than the single pass.
You will see a beautiful and unique green-colored lake, the color mainly caused by gaseous sulfur exiting from under the ground through the water in the lake. Due to the sulfuric deposits in the area, the air will also be filled by a strong smell which not many people may like. If you are part of this group, I suggest you wear a face mask, but you would need to wear a mask regardless due to the pandemic.

Gunung Sikunir is a verdant peak surrounded by volcanic craters and terraced hills in Indonesia. It offers breathtaking sunrise views from the summit, akin to those of Bromo mountain. The climb to the top can be challenging, but it is worth it for an unforgettable experience. Dieng, also known as Gods abode, is home to this majestic peak which has been described as part of heaven on earth owing to its stunning sunrise views.
Gunung Sikunir is a mountain of enchantment that promises a breathtaking sunrise view. As I embarked on the trek, the crisp mountain air and anticipation of the scenic spectacle ahead kept me energized.
The journey to the summit was an invigorating challenge. The well-marked trails took me through lush forests and open meadows, revealing captivating vistas along the way. The diversity of landscapes made the ascent engaging and rewarding.
Arriving at the summit of Gunung Sikunir just before dawn was a surreal experience. The sight of the first rays of sunlight casting a golden hue upon the rolling hills and distant volcanoes was nothing short of magical.
The iconic "sea of clouds" phenomenon is a sight to behold from Gunung Sikunir. As the mist gently enveloped the valleys below, I felt like I was floating above a dreamlike landscape, lost in the beauty of the moment.
The sunrise spectacle was complemented by the camaraderie of fellow trekkers. The shared experience of witnessing nature's grandeur from the summit created a sense of unity and friendship that made the journey even more meaningful.
In conclusion, Gunung Sikunir is a mountain of dreams that offers an unparalleled sunrise adventure. The trek to its summit is a rewarding challenge that leads to a moment of sheer wonder at nature's beauty. If you're a nature enthusiast or an adventurer at heart, I wholeheartedly recommend conquering Gunung Sikunir. The memories of the sunrise panorama and the bonds formed with fellow trekkers will stay with you long after you descend. Prepare to be inspired and humbled by the magnificence of Gunung Sikunir's summit!

Candi Selogriyo, a Hindu temple established on a hill in the 9th century and encompassed by mountains, rice paddies, and woodland. It was reconstructed after being damaged by landslides in 2005 and rebuilt again in 2018. This historical monument is scarcely visited but has an evocative ambiance. The views of the surrounding rice fields are particularly stunning, and it is believed that its fountain water has healing properties capable of bestowing eternal youthfulness.
I tell you, honestly the journey to reach this place is superb.. the way through wide landscape of rice field on hill side will freshen up your mind and makes you wonder how great this world is.. :p
suggestion: rent a motorcycle or by ojek to reach up there.. because only by motorcyle or walking around 30min' to get there. .
i get there by riding motorcycle, it takes upto 15 minutes to reach the nearest parking lot to the top, and continue walking thru several stairs.
even though there's nothing much to see at the spot, but sometimes the best part of travelling is journey not destination.
And this journey, pictures of the scenery, i wouldn't ever forget, maybe this is the best track ever i ride by far...

It is a Hindu temple deep in the mountains. Surprisingly, its appearance was well preserved. The surrounding area was kept clean and there were generally many foreign tourists like me.

It is a quite small temp, but you can experience an very nice walk with a great view on the rice terraces. Also on the way there is a coll coffee spot to have a short break. The combination of landscape and the nice small temple makes it worth a visit. Take a car and let you bring to the end of the small village. Frome there it is a 30 tp 45min walk.

Quiet and beautiful, nice hiking in the rice field.

Our guide brought us here between Borobudur and Prambanan temples, and it was a nice visit to be able to see the impressive rice fields on the side of the mountain. Do not expect much from the temple, but the walk up from the village is amazing. There is an entrance fee of 25.000 IDR/person.

Selogriyo is a very nice temple with supported by beautiful scenery. We need hiking about 2 kilometers to reach the temple from car parking area. So, it means we can combine at least 3 activities here, namely cultural, natural and physical (sport activity) tourism.
budi zan — Google review
The road to up is winding and narrow and you have to continue walking from the end road up about 1.5 km. The view however is breathtaking. The temple itself was being reconstructed. Even than the view for me is far more important to see, not to mention friendly natives I met along the walk. I was struggling for the bathroom and one neighbor let me in just like that. Parking is very limited, if possible go with a local driver so you don’t have to worry about parking.

Perhaps it was an easy walk and hike, but apparently not for me. There's motorcycle for hire if ypu do not want to walk.
There is a lot of vandalism on the temple, but it is worth the visit. Calm and serene atmosphere

I was amazed by the stunning sceneries along the way to this temple. So green and yet so tranquil. The road for motorbike and pedestrians are well made and maintained. I could not describe more how beautiful this area. And this tiny temple is worth it . On top of the hill ,just if we are lucky enough to enjoy when the sky is clear. Mount Sumbing is the view that we can not miss at all. Parking lot for motorbike is upstair just near to the stairs to the temple but for the car you need to park a little bit far and then you can either walk or take rental bike that costs 25.000 IDR for one way or 40.000 for returns. Toilet is available near by the second gate just before the temple. And it is clean enough. Perfect timing to visit is during dry season ( April to October) or morning when it is not cloudy. I am sure I will be back here to take more pictures.

The temple itself is quite small, but the views on the walk to the temple are breath-taking. Rice fields, terraces and volcanoes - stunning. Lots of wildlife to be seen and certainly worth the walk.

Selogriyo is about 30 km. away from Borobudur, and journey by car or motorcycle takes about one hour (each way), over paved, winding country lanes.
Walking through the village, you can see the backbreaking work needed to grow the rice and harvest wood etc. Never take your food for granted. I couldn’t even imagine walking up and down those terraces to plant and harvest rice every day.
Indra Widianto — Google review
You need to walk about 2 km from the entrance. The view is amazing.
Ticket price is Rp7.000.
If you drive a car, you can park your car at the villagers' house and you need to pay and ask permission first but it's not expensive.

TKL Ecopark, also known as Taman Kyai Langgeng, is a popular tourist attraction located in Magelang, Central Java. It spans over 28 hectares and boasts of rare plant collections that serve as research objects, life-sized dinosaur statues, various recreational facilities including rides and a water zone, botanical gardens and an airplane prototype. Suitable for a child... Best place for healing. From when I was young until now I have 2 kids always feel fresh in here. There's so many tree, with so many kind of tree. Parking lot is limited and so many illegal parking around here. The most I like from this place is the kindness of the people. Owh... Make sure you bring cash money, if you don't want in line to long.

Price for ticket now up to IDR.40.000 without any improvement, so bored and far away to parking area. Why i had to pay more if only the using swimming pool.? After charge for IDR.40.000 then had to pay IDR.15.000 to get access to the pool, seriously.? Why not just use ribbon with different colour as a mark to get access for various rides or just for one rides so no bother to pay more or to spy on peoples. Be smart management.! Cuz i'm locals and i know it.
The one and the only theme park in Magelang, known as Kyai Langgeng Zoo or Eco Park. Location is little bit confiusing, coz to parking at official parking area u have to access it through St.Panembahan Senopati. Parking fee IDR.5.000 for car at official parking space, then walk along approx 200m to reach main enterance. But there's a short way thru St.Cemp, u can exatcly find main eterance then parking ur car near it and of course have to paid. To enter the park u had to buy access card in ticket conter by paying IDR.24.000 per person include kids above 3 years old and IDR.10.000 for deposits. Some rides needs pay to get access and few are free, u need to carrying about IDR.5.000 to IDR.15.000 each for few rides. This park also provide instant meal, snack, and cafe, train car to get around park, resting place, kids playground, toilet, ect. The most dissaponting is the Zoo, it looks lack of care and maintenance. Need more CCTV, specially at corridor to washing and changing room in water park. Definitely the management having a big task to improving and make sure there's no mistake and accident in the future.

Easy to find the location and the price for the ticket is affordable and reasonable. Its located in the middle of the city but its looks like we are at the place close to the hill. No wonder, Magelang is a cold city. So, yeah, the weather is enak nggo dolan-dolan. Haha.
This place is suitable for kids in kindergarten or elementary ages. The food here is good. The canteen was available almost everywhere.
Unfortunately the cleanliness was not so good. Not because the cleanjng attendant doesnt do their work well, but its because the guest doesnt put their litter right on the dust bin.

The best place with a lot of playing ground for kids, and inside Taman there is tomb of Kiayi Langgeng ( the teacher of Prince 👑of Dipenegoro).
If you come and want to to spend overnight ⛺, don't worry a lot of hotel around.

A popular park for family recreation in Kemirirejo, Central Magelang District, Magelang City, Central Java Province. I came here twice long ago with my family, colleagues and students. There was a swimming pool with a water boom. A minizoo presented a small collection of birds in a dome and exotic animals in cages. Other attractions included a car ride and a miniricksaw (becak) for children, rafting at the River Progo, and amusement rides (roller coaster, etc). Once I attended a graduation party at a large outdoor gazebo. Spacious parking lot for motorbikes, cars and buses. Clean toilets and musholla (moslem prayer place). The place was vast, so it needed energy for parents, and it could be scorching during a hot day.

Reminding that wide area, I personally think that the entrance ticket isn't expensive. Only 24k/person (> 3 years old inc). You can have some free facilities, such mini train, water train, carousel, etc.
Food and beverages are provided inside, and not thaat expensive.

Theme park you should visit and play when you were in magelang. Ticket not too pricey nor expensive. Just make sure trying to ride a free trip around the park. But don't forget and ever you missed with fish therapy " you can see below the attached picture ". Have a nice vacation kiddos!

A nice park and full of ride. Some of them are paying ride, but most of them aren't. A lot of trees. I saw couple of reptiles dead in the mini zoo, and it smells so bad. I'll give 5 star if you treat the animal well.

Okay place to check out if you're around the area. Lots of food to choose from in the food court, though I don't guarantee that you'll get anything particularly delicious more so you'll likely get an upset stomach. Child friendly i guess, under supervision. You might want to bring a date here? Idk i don't have a partner.

The Magelang City Square in Central Java Province is a green grass lawn with a food court offering traditional as well as popular foods and beverages. It is located within a busy business area with heavy traffic, department stores (Gardena and Matahari), a mall (Trio), a police station and restaurants. There is a dancing water fountain with scheduled light plays at night. Landmarks of this area are a white statue of Prince Diponegoro (a hero in the 1825-1830 Java War against the Dutch) and huge water tower with an exotic architecture. A crowded Grand Mosque on its North side is a large and clean mosque with a beautiful classical architecture, many clean separate ladies and gents toilets.

This is one of the iconic place or landmark of magelang. People from yogyakarta usually makes this place for cycling destination. about 2 cycling from yogyakarta city. You can take a photo with the iconic "magelang" sign, or with the Prince Diponegoro statue. Nothing special about the alun-alun, just an open space covered with grass.
There is a food court in the side of this park. Most of them serve local and cheap food, i haven't tried the food court yet.

Actually it’s a great museum. The collection of the museum was great, from pre historic until recent history, from archaeological, stones, until history of Javanese culture. But, there’s no clear concept how the visitor enjoy and learn from the museum. It will be better if the museum have some clear concept and have one way to enter until exit and have the full history experiences. Cheap ticket entrance.

This museum surprisingly displayed unexpected features you know. And funnily many Semarang inhabitants don't know about what is inside.
You'll find a socio-geological history packed in neat wooden furniture. I ensure you to find a new wonderful experience while hanging around there, because this historical place isn't like another cliche and boring museum. Also, luckily there is an AC so you won't be dehydrated okay. But unfortunately, the second floor wasn't covered with AC. Then, that's fine to look around the first floor only if you can't handle the heat.
The other surprising aspect was a 3D show. Telling us about the dinosaur ever existed.
Btw, I've just to know that mammoth was existing in the last on Java's land. This museum is truly educating!

Great museum with huge collection. Here, you could learn geology, history, and culture of Java from various artifacts, fossils, dioramas, and many other historical displays. Tickets are cheap, and there's locker in the lobby. Also, there's large parking area which may benefit tour groups and families with car or bus. However, when I came (it was on Saturday), there's no tour guide while some displays are not accompanied with any plaque or description sheet, so it was not a very satisfactory visit.
