The only place in the world to see Asiatic Lions. Very well maintained, and the forest staff is continuously working towards protection of this iconic species.
Also home to Indian Leopards.
The sightings of this majestic beast are on luck only but the staff also supports you in sighting one.

It was a wonderful experience at Devaliya GIR safari.
We booked gypsy slot at 9am via online. They have started the tour on time from the booking center, it’s about 5-7km to reach the entrance of GIR safari spot.
It’s a 1hr ride, we saw 7 lions and countless leopards, spotted deers.
At the entrance food court, rest room and souvenir shop.

Excellent experience for Safari. Bus Safari and Gypsy Safari gates are different make sure you visit correct gate. Both gates are around 6-7 kms away. You can spot lion if you are lucky enough. Otherwise Spotted 🦌 and other animals can be found

Have gone to Devaliya park. Gir is closed during monsoon season. We started our journey from Junagadh and our auto driver took us through a nice village side road . Weather was good and cloudy. Map showed 1.5 hrs but road conditions are not good . It took us almost 2.5hrs . We had a online ticket done so didnt have to wait much in counter line. Though my ticket was for 4 to 4.30 i didnt have to wait and got seat at 3.15 wala bus. It was suppose to be a 30 mins ride in bus for which we paid 150 rs per person. For jeep u need to pay around 4k. We saw 4 lioness, peacock, leopard in captivity, black buck deer. It felt The trip ended as soon as it started . If u r taking the bus may be buy 2 to 3 slots over the day. The park has food area , super expensive souvenirs shops.

Amazing experience. Witnessed pride of lions in the open along with plethora of wildlife. Caged Man-eater leopards were another site to watch. The guide and driver were thoroughly professional. It was a learning experience that it's the locals who manage the entire setup. Must visit if one is around.

Gir Safari is one of the most sought-after wildlife adventures in India. It is a thrilling experience that allows you to witness the majestic Asiatic lions in their natural habitat. Located in the state of Gujarat, Gir National Park is spread over an area of 1,412 square kilometers and is home to more than 600 species of plants and animals.
The Gir Safari offers an opportunity to explore the beautiful and diverse terrain of Gir National Park on an open jeep, accompanied by a trained guide. The safari takes you through the dense forests, deciduous trees, open grasslands, and rocky hills, where you can spot a variety of wildlife including the Asiatic lion, Indian leopard, sloth bear, sambar deer, spotted deer, wild boar, and many more.
The safari also provides a chance to witness the rare and endangered birds that inhabit the park, including the white-backed and long-billed vultures, Indian eagle-owl, and Indian pitta. You will get to experience the thrill of being in close proximity to these animals and birds, and observe their natural behavior in the wild.
To make the most out of your Gir Safari experience, it is recommended to book your tickets in advance.

The safari was good for us. We spotted a few lions an dour guide was very nice. But another group among us in different jeep had to bribe their guide to show them lions and was very rude! It was actually a shock that he kept evading spots of Lions spotting till he was given money.

Gir Safari has it's own name in wild life safari. We my family i visited there, it was awesome.
First, you don't need to book online tickets as it was available offline without any waiting period.
Mode:-( Bus/Jeep)
With my opinion Bus is much better than Jeep safari as AC is available in bus and cost in Bus per person was 190/- where Jeep safari price was 3,000/- approx. We choosed Bus. Because they ensured for 100% lion sighting and we saw.
Food:-
Food options are available inside it.
Staff behaviour:-
The driver assigned to us was a local of Sasan village. His behaviour was really good. We cooperated him and in return he allow us to watch more than the time limit. Really salute for good staff of Gujarat Tourism.
Conclusion. Hard recommend place.
Neeraj Nagra — Google review
In India, only in Gir, you can see lion in their natural habitat. Book your Gir Lion Safari in advance for confirm booking from their official website only. It's easily available as compare to Jim Corbett or Ranthambore.
But book your safari in advance as much as possible.
Their helpline number and email id is not working so don't expect any support from their end.
Lion sighting chances are very high in Gir but you can book multiple safaris but from one mobile number or ID you can book one safari in a day.

Diu town itself is very beautiful but existence of Gangeshwar Mahadev Temple makes it even more special. The Shivaling of Lord Shiva in temple is placed in such a manner that the Sea Water touches their legs every other minute. The Gangeshwar Mahadev Temple is very ancient and more than 5000 Year old and it is believed, the 5 Linga's of Lord Shiva was established by the Pandava's during their hideout year.
There are few stairs just going into the sea directly within a narrow band of hardly 2-meter width and here lie the five Shivlingas of different sizes are created next to each other. All these are washed by the sea every minute and you have to touch the feet of God when the waves are returning. Real feel that Sea comes to take blessings of God all the time. There was no Priest and whatever you offer to God is washed away by the sea within seconds. Amazing religious place as well as for the scenic beauty.
The temple campus is nice and quiet, travelers can spend some time to sitting there and watching the sea. Several benches are provided here by the administration as part of development of the sea face.
Its a must go place and is not far from Nagoa beach.

This place is far from imagination, where the sea waves baths the five shivlings together. The Shivlings are located as if under a half open cave and the visible for less than a minute to some times a couple of minutes between the frequent sea waves.

Nagoa Beach is a stunning, serene beach that locals and tourists love for its unique aesthetic and peaceful atmosphere. The beach is also home to a number of restaurants and bars, making it the perfect place to relax after a day at the beach.
I visited when I was on a cycling tour from Delhi to Kanyakumari. I cycled there for only one day and had a nice time. You can enjoy water sports activities. Also on the right side of the beach, if you walk a little further, you will find a top. It was great sitting there all by myself and watching the sunset.

Visiting Nagao Beach was a delightful experience filled with relaxation and enjoyment. Bathing in the ocean waves was refreshing, and sipping coconut water added to the tropical ambiance. However, it's important to take precautions against sun tan and inquire about the cost of changing rooms if needed. Overall, it was a blissful day with lots of memorable moments.

Nagoa beach is a famous beach located in Diu. It is one of the famous attractions of Diu. This beach is located near Bucharwada village in the Diu district of the Union Territory of Daman and Diu, India.
Nagoa Beach is surrounded by clean environment and palm trees, which makes this beach look very beautiful and looks no less than any other famous foreign beach.
Dou to being a famous beach, a large number of tourists come here to visit. There is a proper arrangement of food and stay here, you will find many fast food stalls to eat on the beach itself.
This beach is also known as Mini Goa. It stretches for 2 km from one end to the other. The water here is very clear and blue. You can have a lot of fun in the water, swim and sunbathe here.

Mini Goa for resident of Gujarat, this place is a perfect hangout area for vacation. Although the pqlce lacks the charisma of Goa yet for people in and around the Gujarat can enjoy their vacation at Diu.
You can enjoy lot of water sports at comparitively lower price. Hotels are costly during season time. The beach needs more attention of local civic authorities if they intent to promote tourism in Diu.
Eateries at beach are costly but its OK considering short seasob for them to.earn their livelihood.
Overall I would recommend spending a day in Diu if not more and must visit Nagoa beach for sure.
Enjoy your trip at Diu and keep following for more updates...

Diu Fort, an ancient sandstone fortress constructed in the 16th century by the Portuguese on India's west coast, is a major tourist attraction. The double moat provides excellent defense to this massive and well-preserved fort, which features a lighthouse and three churches. The array of cannons on the ramparts is impressive, with cannonballs strewn all around.
Such a very beautiful place to visit in Diu. Best time to visit sunrise and sunset for best view and also for good weather and photography.
It’s a big and well maintained fort, currently renovating work is ongoing.
Time : open time 8 am and close time 6 pm. You should 2 to 3 hrs is required to explore. Visit for free.
Heritage and tourism attractions. Carry with water only. This is the old lighthouse which were used for the directions guidance for ship.

One of the most amazing fort you will ever find !

The fort itself is not in very good condition & hardly maintains its original look, but the views it offers are spectacular. And It does give you a feel of a different time in the past.
You need sneakers or sports shoes to explore the place don't think of sandals due to slopes, climbs, and passes around.
Please explore the edges, and huge wall walkways their eyewitness to the sea and sea breeze, in fact, it appears to be an island, and the sea in the background looks magnificent. You can lighthouse and an array of cannons on wall edges. Down at the corner, the washroom is provided, okay kind. At the main gate, you enjoy drinking beverages. There were no entry charges. Historical significance place hence you will see a marble placard with history engraved.

Liked the place. Its under maintenance now and construction is going on but the place is open to the public.
There is a good view of the ocean and the city from the fort .It's better to go there before it's too sunny and evening or morning hours would be good. The place also has a garden and then there are walkways. The lighthouse offers a good view to the city and the full fort area. Its good to bring water to drink as it takes around an hour to see the place completely.
There are cannons made of brass and the architecture is getting maintained now.Tgere are several view points of the ocean but the one from the lighthouse is especially good.

Best place to visit the historic place. You will find the remains of all weapons that will remind the sacrifices of heroes. No structural change has been done because the remains are still good quality.

The fort, situated along the coast, is an important attraction in Diu. It is a place of historical importance, and showcases how the fort was used as an ammunition depot in the past. It doesn't require any entrance fee or tickets to visit the fort.
The fort has a light house on its top, and few weapons from historic period in its premises. St. Paul's Church and Museum are located near this fort.
It is nearer to the bus stand, and can be reached easily either by walk or by local means of transportation.
After reaching the highest point in the fort, you can see entire Diu city and the coastline.
However, do carry your eatables and water bottles while visiting this place. Since there are no eateries available inside the fort premises, and some food stalls can be found besides it's entry gate.

Stepping into Diu Fort feels like entering a captivating time capsule steeped in history. The ancient architecture and well-preserved structures narrate the tales of a bygone era, leaving you in awe of the craftsmanship.
The fort's atmosphere exudes a tranquil and serene vibe, making it an ideal spot to wander and immerse oneself in the past. From the elevated vantage points, the views of the sea and surroundings are simply mesmerizing.. However, do consider that during the summer vacation, the fort tends to get crowded, so planning a visit during off-peak times could enhance your experience.

The Diu Fort is spanned across a very large area. it is situated on the ocean front and almost 2/3rd side is covered by water.
There are many places to visit inside the fort like Lighthouses, canon mounts, gardens and such.
One will need at least half a day to fully visit and enjoy their time in the fort.
There are many photography-worthy places inside the fort.
Also there are several places one can rest but sometimes it's hard to find a proper place to sit down and relax after walking so much.

A must visit location in Diu, but it's better to go in with a guide to truly admire the magnificent fort. Sea on the three sides and a moat build on the other end the fort stands tall, clean and well maintained.
Get your dose of history, and plan to visit early mornings or late evenings as it gets hot in the afternoon and difficult to walk around.

although this is a functional structure and not made for tourist purpose. some seating structures would have been welcome

The main attraction of my visit to Diu was this ancient monumental building built by the Portuguese.
It still stands tall and gigantic, covering a vast expanse, proudly boasting of its great architecture, the immense planning, the smart work. It has stood the fury of the lashing sea and the sweeping winds against an mminent wear and tear for past so many years.
I loved how they did rain water harvesting, the secret dungeons were the soldiers and weapons were hidden. I wish I could see the secret passage out too.
According to the guide, the anti missile destructors were just meant to be fired on sea and not on land to avoid any human casualties. They were kept in waters to maintain the temperature.
The court room where the governor was seated and the justice box , the spiritual aspects involved in the architecture and design are all so amazing. The windows give us a view towards the roaring sea, lashing the walls and the surrounding areas. It has successfully overcome all the nature's wear and tear, still in impeccable shape.
The poultry farm were they used to rear rabbits and such are now under renovation.
As you enter the premises you can see the jails on the right side. The present garden was added recently, if i am not wrong.
All credit to the ASI who is helping preserve this historically significant place.
You can climb the ramp styled pathways to reach the top from where you will get yo see a grand view of the sea and the adjoining places.
At different locations canons sre kept. Some made from pure iron and some a combination of 5 metals.
Interestingly the name is just Diu fort. I hope it remains so.
Recently, Modi government has made changes to the laws and decided to allow changes while renovating. I hope it won't tamper the beauty of this magnificent structure, keeping politics out of monuments.
Till sometime back, it was the IAS officers who were in charge, now the government has taken over the reigns.
It was aan incredible experience.
We had to just pay rs 200 to the guide, which is much less as compared to his knowledge and patience.
An old church inside which was locked away from the visitors was so intriguing. This was built for their spiritual needs. It was interesting to know about the mortuary where the bodies were kept for 3 days and later buried according to their respective religious beliefs.
The swimming poo builtl for the queen is now a sort of a lawn area.

This is a huge fort located near the shore. The fort is so big that we got tired mid-way. Almost all the places/buildings inside the fort are empty . You can go inside them, climb on the fort wall or have a walk inside. I think this fort will be the perfect place for photo-shoot with all the cementy look.
When we went back in August, renovation was going on. There was no parking ticket or entry ticket. . The three major structures were the lighthouse , the Church and the entry to the shore. Canons were kept there. Its clean and green and a perfect place to spend your morning if its not too sunny.

A good place to relive history of late medieval ages in India when Diu was under Portuguese domination. The fort was built by Portuguese and it is not a massive or inconquerable fort like other forts of India.
It was a garrison fort in which they also constructed a prison in the middle of the sea. It served limited military purpose also .
The courtyard of the fort is beautiful and has a Latin touch of architecture. The court at various places in its premise offers a beautiful and expansive view of the Arabian sea.
A good place for photography with your loved ones . The fort gets closed at about 1800 hrs .

Girnar mountain peak is a well-known destination for Hindu and Jain pilgrims, with numerous temples spread across its forested terrain. The mountain rises dramatically from the surrounding plains, offering stunning views to those who brave the daunting climb up its 10,000 stone steps. To reach the uppermost temples requires a full day's walk, but visitors are rewarded with breathtaking sunrises and an unforgettable hiking experience.
Girnar has the highest pick of the gujarat.
There are approx 10000 steps. Rope way takes you till Ambaji. If you want to visit Jain temple, you have to come down by walk or “palkhi”.
From Ambaji, you can go further towards Gorakhnath and Guru Datatrey. Its approx 2800 steps from Ambaji.
Parking: plenty of parking available near to the rope way. Its on small ground
and side of the road so its free but not secure.

It is an important pilgrimage site for both Hindus , who gather here during the Girnar Parikrama festival. Later on some Jain temples were also built, some of which are very recent. Girnar is one of the five major ‘tirthas’ attributed to the ‘panch kalyanakas’ of various ‘Jain tirthankaras’. Girnar is also significant among Shiva devotees for the so-called “mystic space-time” of the mountain range, with the presence and turnover of different sects of Sadhu Babas, Nath sect and others. Flora and fauna fairs are also held at the mountains, such as the Maha Shivratri fair. It hosts a number of temples and some historical spots across its range. Amidst the lush green Gir Forest, the mountain range serves as the hub of religious
Here is the some places which are not so much wellknown but must visit places around the girnar , or you can say on the route of PARIKRAMA Gaumukhi, Bordevi, Hanuman Temple, Sita madhi, Hanuman Madhi, Kamandal Kund, Datatrey Shikhar, Hasnapur Dam and many more. The photos are more of the places which is mot so famous.
Now the Girnar roap way is working in its full strength and it is now easy to reach to the top of mountain and in between clouds and also infrant of JAGAT JANANI MA AMBA BHAVANI.
The crest of the mountain (3330 feet) is reached by a steep flight of stairs. Here is an ancient temple of Hindu Goddess Amba mata temple, which is much resorted to by newly married couples . The bride and bridegroom have their clothes tied together, and attended by their male and female relations, adore the goddess and present cocoa-nuts and other offerings. This pilgrimage is supposed to procure for the couple along continuance of wedded bliss.
I am giving every one who like mountaineering and see the photos and find the remote places for the adventure purpose and specially live in the clean and green environment

GIRNAR:
Let me share you my experience of THE Girnar.
Journey from Ahmedabad To Junagadh via Train. Railway station To Girnar destination via Auto. You can negotiate there its fun.
Started climbing after refreshment at hotel and breakfast at around 4AM. ( Don't worry, you wont be alone, you will see many people starting to climb at this time. Also locals will be there to guide you)
Bring Food (Fast food) and water with you in Bag.
Girnar has around 10K steps (one way) and highest peak of Gujarat state.
There are more than 3 temples in different level of Peak.
Last destination would be Dattatrey Temple at 10k steps.
3 ways to hike: Trekking, Ropeway and doli.
Ropeway will help you till 4k steps at Ambaji temple. You will have to strike for Dattatrey by walking only or Doli.
It took approx 2 hours to reach Ambaji temple (4k step). The view from there is just spledid fr. From there, it would take another 2 hours to reach 10k steps at dattatrey. And The view from highest peak there will literally take your breathe away. Its one in a lifetime experience.
Its like go before you turn 30 experience to me.
They also provide you free lunch there in one of temples idk name.
In my opinion, Go visit there only in Monsoon as you wont be tired in this season, also wont be needing drinking water much. Winter would be difficult as your body wont allow you to trekk in this temprature. And dont even think about summer lol.
Its a one day Trekking so you can plan ut on saturday so you can rest sunday and go to jail, i mean job, on monday.
We walked +24km in Girnar (smart watch).
Attaching Photos and videos i have taken in Girnar for your reference.

Wonderful and beautiful mountains, sunset, climate and temples😍.
From Ropeway you reach to mata temple and it's in the middle of jain and dattatray mountain. The steps are really hard so please rent wooden stick. Come up with snacks & drinking water because expensive over here.
Only one problem is there tourist throws all the waste in the mountains so it is damaging natural elements and also it's harmful how can they clean the mountain deeply. Please use your mind and dustbin.

One of most divine place on the earth I must say! Girnar moutain is older than Himalaya and it has Ambaji mata the incarnation of Parvati Mata and Guru Dattatray on its peak, makes very auspicious and divine. One must visit this mountain once in a life.
It has 10000 steps, in order to climb this you need to be physically feet. There is also ropeway cable car service available till Ambaji temple. After that you need to climb 3000 more steps which will take 2-3 hours to reach Guru Dattatray temple.
Darshan of Ambaji mata and Guru Dattatray bhagwan makes you refresh, your fatigue will get vanished and you will feel the inner peace for sure. This mountain, trail and all these places are very auspicious and divine so please keep this in mind while climbing. Please keep it clean. Jai Girnari !

Girnar also known as Girnar Hill or
main tourist attraction in the area, top of the hill, is a group of beautifully carved Jain temples built between 1128 and 1500. Neminath, the 22nd tirthankara.
There is the peak of Ambaji, with a height of 3,330 ft (1,010 m), which is famous for the temple dedicated to the goddess Amba Mata dating back to the 12th century.
The steps go down and up again to Gorakhnath Peak at 1116m (3666 ft) above sea level, where there are footprints of the rishi Gorakhnath.
The steps again go down and there is Kamandal Kund and another peak where there are footprints of Guru Dattatreya. The steps to Dattatrey Peak are quite difficult.
Visitors must climb 8,500 steps to reach the top of the hill, so it is best to start early in the morning (before 6 am)

I just had to see this place. I'm not a Jain, btw. The thought of climbing 3346 steps was a challenge of sorts. And something to brag about later ;-) . Managed to do it in about two and half hours. The climb up is really something. The temples on top are really beautiful - worth the effort. And the atmosphere ... you just have to experience it. No photography allowed on top. This is something worth doing. See attached pics of the climb up.

Situated in Bhavnagar, Gujarat. Lord Adinatha, the first of Jain Tirthankaras, is said to have meditated on the shatrunjaya hills, where the palitana temples were later constructed.
Palitana is the world's only mountain that has more than 900 temples. Temples as well as whole mountain is considered the most sacred pilgrimage place by the jain community, being world's largest temple complex. From the foot of the hill to the top there are about 3,800 stone steps to facilitate climbing.
Not just the temples on the hill are sacred, but as per Jain scriptures entire hill is sacred right from top to bottom. The journey is arduous. For those unable or unaccustomed to the strain, sling chairs are available for bargain. Food mist neither be eaten nor carried on the way. The descent must begin before it is evening, for no soul can remain atop the sacred Mountain during the night.
Palitana is the first city in the world to be legally vegetarian. It has outlawed, or made illegal, the buying and selling of meat, fish and eggs and also related jobs or work, such as fishing and penning 'food animals'.
Must visit.

Most recognised Teerth among all the Jains in the world. It is first of the only two vegetarians city in the world.
The temple hill has around 3500+ stairs to reach to the peak where Idol of First Jain Teerthankar Bhagwan Shri Aadinath is present in the main Temple along with so many Temples and idols.
You cannot remove your attention from the Aadinath dada Idol once you are there, you feel so light and might get so many goose bumps until you are in the vicinity of the main temple.
The place is very peaceful, millions of devotees visits every year, On the occasion of Akshay tritiya so many devotees come to break their year long fast (Varshi tapka parna) from all over the country.

Lothal is an archaeological site of the Indus Valley civilization dating back to 3700 BCE. Excavated between 1955-1960, it is a historic port-town with ruins that can be visited separately from the nearby museum. The site includes an ancient ship dock and acropolis, and takes only about an hour to see. Although guides are scarce due to low visitation rates, it is a peaceful place with easy walking paths.

'A Tranquil Gem with Historical Significance'
I visited this historic site during Diwali holidays and was pleasantly surprised by the lack of crowds. Most visitors seemed unaware of its true historical significance – it's the world's oldest intact dockyard and port. However, the museum is currently undergoing demolition to make way for a new maritime heritage complex set to open by the end of 2024.
Beyond the remnants of the ancient town and dockyard, the highlight was the incredible bird life in the prime grassland surroundings. Birds of prey and various avian species frequent nearby village ponds, offering a peaceful retreat for nature enthusiasts.
The facilities, including clean restrooms and available water, enhance the overall experience. Just remember to bring your own food, as there are no eating options in the vicinity. If you appreciate history and enjoy tranquility, this place is a must-visit. Check out a few photos from my recent trip.

This site is separate from the museum and its open from morning to evening every day and it's timings are not related to the museum next door.
The site is not very big and it'll take an hour or so to cover all the points. The biggest attraction is the ancient ship dock and the acropolis. It's a peaceful place and it's not very difficult to walk. It's almost impossible to get a guide because it is not visited by lot of people. The museum is closed because of the upcoming National Maritime Museum project and no one knows when it will open. Make sure to carry enough water and food because there are no shops around. There's enough parking space and there are good toilets as well.

An ancient place. Well kept place. But hard to understand and imagine the culture and city of those(old) days. Govt should keep proper hoarding or a guide to describe each place. Road joining high way to Lothal is single and not maintained properly. There is a museum but it is shut for visitors for one and a half year(guard told us). It remains open from 8 am to 5 pm except Friday for visitors. Morning time is best to visit.

Marvelous heritage remains seems so realistic that we can relate it to modern construction even after 5000 years. What a feeling it was! Amazed by seeing such a neat and precise construction of walls, rooms. It feels like nothing has changed even in this age, we are still following the same methods they used to build.

Do not visit it if you are not an archeologist by yourself.
The site is still under development and too difficult to find. The museum is closed until the development work finishes, which seems to take too long. All you are left with is the relics of the Hadappa sanskriti, which are dying slowly. There are no sign boards with details to explain what is what. All you see is some structures with bricks.
The government doesn't seem to really care for the relics as the site seems quite abandoned. Anyone can go and destroy or steal things easily.
Parking is closed forever and having some weeds with a closed door.
The site is at distant location. It's too tough to reach here because of bad roads, no clear sign boards and abandoned area. You will have nobody to ask. Even if you come across anyone they will hardly know the way. Google is correct but the road's condition will get your joints displaced.
Even after reading this you want to go there best of luck.

Knowing Indus Valley (Harrapan) Civilisation [Saraswati-Sidhu Civilisation] has always facinated me. Isn’t touching and seeing 4000-5000 years of history an amazing thing to experience? Though I happened to have seen it’s pottery, beads ornaments etc. in museums yet couldn’t visit any of it’s site till yesterday.
So, I travelled back in time and visited Harappan port-town of LOTHAL [2500-1900BC] (meaning 'The City of Dead') located along the Bhogava river, a tributary of Sabarmati, in the Gulf of Khambat (near Bhavnagar, Gujarat). It is one of the ancient known ports on an ocean.
The city of Lothal had a very complex drainage system which collected waste from every private house of the city to dump it to a central sump outside of the city.
The massive dockyard, which is the world's earliest known dock and it was probably the greatest work of maritime architecture. This was the earliest known dock found in the world, equipped to berth and service ships. The city got developed as the most important port and a center of the bead industry, gems and valuable ornaments that flourished until 1900 BC. These products reached the far corners of West Asia and Africa.

Lothal is an ancient archaeological site located in the western Indian state of Gujarat. It was a major Indus Valley Civilization city dating back to around 2400 BCE. Key features include a well-planned city layout, a dockyard with evidence of maritime trade, and a granary. The site provides insights into the advanced urban planning and trade practices of the Indus Valley Civilization.

It was an amazing experience. Located about 80 kms away from Ahmedabad airport and just beside the Lothal museum. The entry is free and you can see the dock and remains of Harappan Civilization in this place.

Must Visit place if you are really interested in History of Indian Culture. How 4500 years ago Hadappan Culture is developed here. You will know how advanced people were, in terms of Advanced home, how they build dockyard for water harvesting, business and modern business modules. Government is developing Musium here.Washroom and Drinking water facilities are not there, which is drawback.

Lothal is an archaeological site located in the state of Gujarat, India. It was an important city of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization, dating back to around 2400 BCE. The name "Lothal" means "Mound of the Dead" in Gujarati.
Lothal was a major center for trade and commerce, known for its advanced urban planning, dockyards, and an elaborate drainage system. It was strategically situated along the ancient trade routes, connecting the region with Mesopotamia and other parts of the Indus Valley.
The city had a well-planned layout with residential and industrial areas. One of the notable features of Lothal is its dockyard, which is considered one of the earliest known in the world. The dock provided access to the nearby Sabarmati River, facilitating trade and maritime activities.
Lothal's decline is believed to be linked to changes in the course of the river and the gradual decline of the Indus Valley Civilization. The site was rediscovered in the 1950s, and extensive excavations have provided valuable insights into the social, economic, and technological aspects of this ancient civilization.
TECHY AAKASH — Google review
Lothal is situated near the village of Saragwala in the Dholka Taluka of Ahmedabad district. It is six kilometres south-east of the Lothal-Bhurkhi railway station on the Ahmedabad-Bhavnagar railway line. It is also connected by all-weather roads to the cities of Ahmedabad (85 km/53 mi), Bhavnagar, Rajkot and Dholka. The nearest cities are Dholka and Bagodara. Resuming excavation in 1961, archaeologists unearthed trenches sunk on the northern, eastern and western flanks of the mound, bringing to light the inlet channels and nullah ("ravine", or "gully") connecting the dock with the river. The findings consist of a mound, a township, a marketplace, and the 'dock'. Adjacent to the excavated areas stands the Archaeological Museum, where some of the most prominent collections of Harappa-era antiquities in India are displayed.

A Glimpse into Ancient History
As history enthusiasts, we recently had the opportunity to visit Lothal - archaeological remains of a Harappa Port Town. We were very excited to explore the ancient site for a long time and we were excited to learn about the Indus Valley Civilization.
The site's well-preserved ruins of the brickwork, including the bead factory, town area, and famous dockyard. Though there are name boards for the sites, however, informative explainer boards are missing, and this surely is an improvement that is very much needed.
The museum is currently under renovation otherwise the experience would have been even better.
Nonetheless, the potential of Lothal as a historical destination is undeniable. With the completion of the museum's renovation and ample information boards around the site, we are sure that future visitors will have a much more enriched experience.
Time spent(without museum) ~ 1 hour

Excellent just love ❤️ this place. This place is owned by Amul company itself. Located just outside the main production facility. All amul products are available here some of which are not available in local shops all across the country. Beside amul normal products atta, ketchup, cola , bread etc are available here. Quality is too good. Amul cola is good in taste. Keychup also tastes very good.

Factory outlet of amul right outside amul dairy. Huge place which offers all amul products including products which I haven't seen anywhere else. I wasn't aware that amul even produces bread until I visited this place. They also have a restaurant at this place where they serve some mouth watering food.

The food here is surprisingly good and the quality is fantastic,
There are 2 options for seating you could either sit inside a restaurant kind of place or you can sit outside the outlet on the benches, both get pretty crowded on the weekends.
Great place to get a snack with your family or friends.
Sabarmati Riverfront is a stunning stretch of riverbank lined with lush green gardens and parks, perfect for a relaxing walk or picnic. The Sabarmati Riverfront is one of the newer additions to Ahmedabad's attractions, and it offers beautiful views of the city at night. It also has attractions such as a zip-line and boat rentals.
Sabarmati Riverfront is definitely a go-to place. Lot of activities available like speed boating, yachts, kids boating area. Water scooter, cycling, Boat rides, and good restaurants. Best time to visit is early morning or evening after 7 pm. Currently some areas are restricted for general people. During Evening city lights makes this place worth spending time. However it is not wheelchair friendly. Someone should definitely think about it..

It's our regular hangout place. It's better to drive here through 2 wheelers instead of a car. Police may get you a penalty ticket if you park outside around the road.
You can walk around a bit at night time. You can jog or excercise in the morning and you can ride a bicycle as well.
You may wanna try sitting at a quite and peaceful place instead of crowded place. A lot people come here with their families and their partners too.

The riverfront is nice but the accessibility is a bit hectic. If an old person wants to visit the place there are no amenities one has to walk a long distance. There is a facility of using bikes. But what's the point if one has to return the same place after the ride.it would have been better if the bike points have a linkage from one to others . There's a boat rides too which follows the same facility as bikes.Overall its nice place to visit but when one has spent so much on the development of waterfront. Its better to overlook the accessibility in the development too.

One of the best visiting places in Ahmedabad is the Sabarmati River Front. I literally spent hours sitting by the river, feeling the mild breeze and enjoying the sunset. They made a park also. Which wasn't the centre of attraction for me. Rather, I enjoyed the sitting area and the walking/running path made around the river. Many people go for morning/evening walks as I sat there and saw. A place for good vibes indeed.

✍🏻The Sabarmati river is a monsoon-fed river which has a total catchment area of 21,674 square kilometres (8,368 sq mi). The Dharoi Dam constructed in 1976 upstream of Ahmedabad controls water and protects from flooding while Vasna Barrage constructed in 1976 downstream retains water in the river along the city banks and diverts it through Fatehwadi canal for irrigation. The Narmada Canal, which crosses Sabarmati a few kilometres upstream from the city, is part of a larger canal network of Sardar Sarovar Dam. The canal can feed excess water to the river and maintains the level of water in the river which is retained through Vasna Barrage.
The Sabarmati Ashram will be also connected to lower promenade and existing steps will be developed as an amphitheater. The 3.3 ha Heritage Plaza along the city walls between Ellis Bridge and Nehru Bridge will be designed as open space showcasing heritage, history and culture of the city. Some sports complexes are also proposed. Thank You 🙏🏻

If you are new to this city then probably you will find difficulty in car and bike but this place is fully equipped with multistorey car and bike parking exactly opposite to this park entry and from this parking you can directly enter into the park premises from the first floor. Outside eatables are allowed and food served on this site probably you may not like it and so suggestions take it from outside.

The riverfront on Sabarmati River has given new identity to Ahmedabad. The Riverfront has quickly become popular hangout destination for Amdavadis.
I lived in Ahmedabad from 1979 to 1994 before moving to US. But, today’s Ahmedabad is completely different and has transformed into one of the best cities in India. The major credit goes to Sabarmati Riverfront.
Since, there are not many public parks in the city, the Riverfront has become major attraction both for locals and tourists. To my surprise, the gardens were well maintained and reasonably clean.
The Atal walking bridge is part of the whole riverfront project and connects the East and West of Sabarmati Riverfront. The colorful walking bridge is like a tail of the kite (kite flying is very popular here). You can view the beautiful river and city lighting from the bridge and relax on the benches (if you find a place).
The negative side of the place is that it is too crowded to sit and relax. It is hard to take pictures without photobombing. The place could have been much cleaner. Everything looked dusty. If you are in Ahmedabad, it is recommended to visit in the evening time.

Kudos to AUDA for the development they have done. Amazing work done. Looks like you are in a new country. Also the people of Ahemdabad are too kind, helpful and jolly who supported the system in keeping this place and setting a benchmark. Online tickets are available and parking is free. Please note free parking as there are people asking money for the parking and running a scam.

Build around the sabarmati river, it is a paradise for walkers and people who want to spent some time together. Both electric and normal cycles for rent available. There was previously boating now I think it's stopped. A small cruise boat for large crowds is available though.

The Sabarmati Riverfront, a splendid 11km concrete promenade, offers a captivating view of the Sabarmati River. Its daytime ambiance is a harmonious blend of Brutalist and Modernist architecture, punctuated by the verdant greenery of Neem trees, adding a touch of nature to the urban landscape.
During weekdays, the Riverfront is typically less crowded, making it an ideal spot for tranquil walks or leisure activities. The weekends attract more visitors, yet the expansive space ensures there's room for everyone. With no entry fee, it serves as a perfect weekend retreat for families.
The Riverfront stretches across various localities, some of which may not be safe at certain times. Therefore, if you plan to explore the entire length of the Riverfront, either on foot or by bicycle, it's advisable to do so in the company of others.
The atmosphere here is positively vibrant, particularly during winter mornings. It's a sight to behold as the cityscape is bathed in the warm glow of the rising sun. I highly recommend a visit to the Sabarmati Riverfront for anyone seeking to experience this beautiful spectacle.

The authorities should ensure that the lake is maintained clean. The least they can do is to educate or penalize the unruly public who litter their surroundings. There are enough trash cans, yet these plastic bottles end up in the lake.
Boat riding is a very short lived experience for a 130rs ticket.
Trams look attractive that facilitates a whole view of this place in a leisurely manner.
Towards evening, it is excessively crowded and noisy.
Good place to hang out with your friends, family or even just yourself 😁.
It was raining heavily and thus I was spared of a huge rush that we usually witness on weekends.
Entry fee is 20 rs.
Boat riding is not that satisfactory for an amount of rs130. Just a quick round, and it's over in the wink of an eye.
The overall view of the whole river front is aesthetically very good. There are many food chains where you can treat yourself to yummy food or even a softee. 😊😋🍨🍧🍦🥃
A ride in the tram is something I might try next time.

The Modhera Sun Temple, constructed in 1027 by Bhimdev of the Solanki dynasty, is a remarkable Hindu temple renowned for its intricate sculptures and sacred reservoir. Similar to the popular Sun Temple in Konark but predating it by two centuries, it was designed so that the equinox dawn sun would shine on Surya's image.
Beautiful temples, exquisite art, and a serene place overall. It's a UNESCO world heritage site, so it's pretty well maintained but can get crowded on weekends and holidays. The temples at Modhera are truly a sight to behold. The intricate carvings and architectural details are a testament to the rich history and craftsmanship of the region. Exploring the complex is like stepping into a world of ancient art and spirituality.
While visiting, it is highly recommended to hire a guide. They can provide valuable insights into the history and significance of the site, as well as uncover hidden stories and unique features that may go unnoticed otherwise. A guide will truly enhance your experience and help you appreciate the intricate details of the temple complex.
It's a place where one can find solace and connect with the spiritual energy of the surroundings. The quietude of the early morning or the mystical hues of the late evening add an extra touch of enchantment to the experience.
Modhera Sun Temple is a remarkable UNESCO Heritage site that captivates with its stunning temples, exquisite artwork, and serene ambiance. An exquisite place to take yourself back in time. The enthralling carvings and the geometry on show at this place makes one just stand and admire. There seems to be a lot of tales and anecdotes attached to each carving present at this place.
There is ample parking for visitors and shops offering light meals and snacks. Authorities have done a good job to maintain the place. Also i have heard that there is a laser show conducted during evening hours. Not sure about it as i didn't stay long enough to witness it.
I had gone here just prior to the winter season and I'm pretty sure that this place will look magical throughout the year.

Modhera Sun Temple is a breathtaking place filled with beautiful temples, stunning artwork, and a peaceful atmosphere. As a UNESCO World Heritage site, it is well-maintained, although it can get crowded on weekends and holidays. To fully appreciate its charm, I recommend visiting in the early morning or late evening when the crowds are thinner.
To make the most of your visit, plan to go during off-peak hours, and consider hiring a guide to uncover the hidden treasures within the complex. The best temple I have seen so far. I literally cried to see how much efforts our ancestors took to carve history on the stones. Amazing art. Thanks to Gujarat government for maintaining and protecting this heritage. Truly world class care is being taken of. Impressed. Guide explained in detail & he loves his job. Mesmerising experience, Would love to come here again

The temple has a huge compound which houses a garden, two big and one small temple, a pond, museum and toilet and a big parking space. The tickets online are Rs 5 cheaper than offline tickets. There are two restaurants right next to the parking space which offers food at reasonable prices.
The two big temples with intricate carvings are empty, there are no dieties in them. The small temple is Lord Shiv's temple.
The whole compound is clean and quiet. The washroom however was not much clean.

Must visit this place once in a lifetime. Very great architecture and very large area to explore. There is also car charging facilities for EV cars. Plenty of parking spaces available. As of my opinion you should visit after 5PM so that you can enjoy the light & laser show running over there after 6:30PM(depending on sunset). Light and laser show should not be missed.

The Modhera Sun Temple is a hidden gem, encapsulating the essence of ancient Indian art and spirituality. The temple's breathtaking architecture, with its intricately carved pillars and celestial design, transports visitors to a bygone era. The precision of craftsmanship is awe-inspiring, and the serene surroundings add to the overall sense of tranquility. As you stand in the presence of this marvel, you can feel the spiritual energy and historical significance that radiates from every corner. A visit to the Modhera Sun Temple is a cultural and architectural pilgrimage, offering a profound connection to India's rich heritage.

If you enjoy step wells, Modhera Sun Temple, really needs to be on your list. The intricacy of carving in the interior of the temple puts it in the same league as a Jain temple. It also has a solar alignment and architectural alignment that frame a point across the well that previously held a monument.
The well itself, originally fed by a spring, is now home to some particularly unattractive turtles.

Really beautiful temple with a beautiful compound. Did not like the stagnant water in the stepwell right in front of the temple- takes the charm away. Needs to be cleaned and replaced. There is a museum also in the campus that displays relics- however there is no information whatsoever about the same. I couldn’t find any guides either. There are restaurants and food stalls nearby. The temple is not accessible on a wheelchair. There is adequate parking.

The Sabarmati Ashram is a spiritual place where Mahatma Gandhi lived and worked during the early days of Indian independence. It is located on the banks of the Sabarmati River, between a jail and a cemetery, and it preserves Gandhis living quarters as well as a museum that presents an informative record of his life.
One of the Must Visit Place in Ahmedabad to explore values and life of Mahatma Gandhi.
"Being a Gujarati, I thought I should be able to render the greatest services to the country through the Gujarati language. And then as Ahmedabad was an ancient centre of hand loom weaving, it was likely to be most favourable field for the revival of the cottage industry of hand spinning. There was also a hope that, the city being capital of Gujarat, monetary help from its wealthy citizens would be more available than any other place".
This was an explanation given by Gandhiji for choosing Ahmedabad as is hub of activities.
Gandhiji selected a place on the bank of the river Sabarmati very close to the Saint Dadheechi’s temple as well as from Jail and a crematorium. Gandhi used to remark, "This is the right place for our activities to carry on the search for Truth and develop Fearlessness for on one side are the iron bolts of the foreigners and on the other, thunderbolts of mother nature." After building a few essential structures, activities of the Ashram commenced in 1917.
Gandhiji had driven all the major activities of independence as well as upliftment of the society from this Ashram which was popularly known as Sabarmati Ashram. He stayed in the ashram for many years before he finally proceeded for a march to Dandi to break the salt law on 12 March 1930. Before starting the march to Dandi, Gandhiji declared that he will not return to the ashram before the independence of the country.
The Gandhi Smarak Sangrahalaya is run by a public trust established in 1951. The museum’s new premises were built in 1963. The museum’s main objective is to house the personal memorabilia of Mahatma Gandhi. Consequently the exhibits on view depict the vivid and historic events of Gandhiji’s life. There are books, manuscripts and photocopies of his correspondence, photographs of Gandhiji with his wife Kasturba and other ashram associates, life size oil paintings and actual relics like his writing desk and spinning wheel.

The ashram is well maintained and very clean. There are so many Arte facts that symbolizes so many important events in the Indian freedom struggle. The galleries are amazing and so informative. Me and my friends visited the ashram for our project and we were amazed to find so detailed information. I especially liked the timelines, they just take you back in time. Anyone who wants to know about our proud history and Gandhi's amazing and simple life should visit the ashram. The river gives a nice and calming view as well.

My visit to Gandhi Ashram on Sunday was an enriching experience that left a lasting impression on me. As I stepped into the serene surroundings of the ashram, I was immediately struck by the sense of peace and tranquility that enveloped the place.
The ashram, located on the banks of the Sabarmati River in Ahmedabad, is a testament to Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy of truth and non-violence. Walking through the various exhibits and displays, I gained insight into Gandhi's life, his principles, and his role in India's struggle for independence.
One of the highlights of my visit was exploring the quaint museum housed within the ashram, which showcases Gandhi's personal belongings, letters, and photographs. It felt like stepping back in time and getting a glimpse into the life of one of the most influential figures in modern history.
I also took a leisurely stroll along the peaceful riverfront, where Gandhi and his followers used to engage in prayer and meditation. The simplicity and serenity of the surroundings were truly refreshing, providing a much-needed break from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Overall, my visit to Gandhi Ashram was a memorable one, filled with reflection and introspection. It served as a reminder of the enduring relevance of Gandhi's teachings in today's world and left me inspired to strive for truth, peace, and justice in my own life.
If you're ever in Ahmedabad, I highly recommend taking the time to visit Gandhi Ashram. It's not just a historical landmark, but a place of profound spiritual significance that has the power to touch hearts and minds.

It's a serene experience. Beautiful river view. Museums. You will get to see different Spinning wheels from Gandhi's time.
People here consider him equivalent to god I guess since I saw few elderly women touching his feet ,folding hands Infront of his statute for blessing. Gandhi's house was there. If your are curious enough to visit. Spotted some foreigners too.
Anyway ,great couple spot. It's a big place without much disturbance. So can take your girlfriend and spend some time talking in the staircase ,looking at the Sabarmati river.
Overall experience is good inside the Ashram. But not outside it. You can't find a restaurant nearby. So have your breakfast, lunch before going.

The magnificent stepwell at Adalaj is a beautiful example of the Solanki style of architecture and features intricate carvings portraying erotic scenes and traditional Gujarati folklore. The well is five stories deep and rests on 16 pillars, with corners marked by shrines. Visitors can enjoy a guided tour of the well or simply wander around its tranquil interior.
Great place to see heritage of architecture in Gujarat. Detailings are so amazing. Must visit site. It's deep into the ground, when you entering into the ground, you will start slowly unveiling the layers below the ground and it leads towards the main water body. Spectacular..!

The Adalaj Vav.
In Gujrati and Marwar regions a vav means a stepwell. In the northern Hindi-speaking regions, a stepwell is called a bowadi.
In the arid regions of Gujrat, Rajasthan and Marwar where the water table is low, wells have to be dug to a considerable depth. Hauling water by buckets tied to a rope was back-breaking labour for the ladies and gents alike. Therefore many communities collectively constructed vavs or step wells where one could descend right up to the water level for bathing, washing and filling up drinking water to be carried to their homes. In many cases, wealthy families with a philanthropic bend of mind constructed vavs for the public good. They were built in stone with pillars and walls etc carved with amazingly beautiful designs, motifs and statues of Gods and Goddesses. More often than not such vavs were made up of various stories with large floor spaces, rooms etc at every storey. Such vavs became a focal point for community gatherings, celebrations and religious functions. These vavs were architectural wonders and in due course became well known for their beauty.
Adalaj vav is one such vav and so generally referred to because it is located in the village of Adalaj. The real name of the vav, as per the inscription found engraved on a stone in the vav is ‘Rani Dudabai’ Vav. As per history/legend, Raja Veer Singh of the Vaghela dynasty started its construction in 1555. His kingdom was attacked by Mohammed Begda a Muslim ruler of the neighbouring state. In the battle, Raja Veer Singh was killed. The vav could not be completed. It is said that Queen Ruda bai, wife of Raja Veer Singh was very beautiful. Mohammed Begda fell in love with the queen and wanted to marry her. As per the legend, the queen agreed on the condition that Mohammed Begda completes the construction of Vav. He readily agreed and completed the construction in a quick time. It is said that Once the unfinished project of her husband was completed, rather than marry the Muslim ruler the queen reneged on her promise and committed suicide by jumping into the well.
Queen Ruda Bai Vav is a five-storey octagonal construction with the well itself is circular in shape. The beginning of the stairs is flanked by two “Chabutaras” or raised platforms. The faces of these chabutaras are made up of intricately and beautiful geometrical engravings of trees and plants etc.
Octagonal sides of each floor had engraved latticed stone screens as safety railings. Hundreds of pillars, niches on the floors etc all are beautifully engraved and look very beautiful.
One can spend hours admiring the beauty of the engravings/carvings and still come away wondering whether he has seen all that was to be seen.
We took lots of pictures, spent maybe an hour and a half and bid good buy to Adalaj/Queen Ruda Bai Vav.

Well the sun was definitely having a moment that evening we visited.
It was our most beautiful Udaipur sunset. The drive up also offers scenic views of the valley but the turns are a little sharp.
There was a museum inside the fort, but you might as well skip it.
But a definitely worth a visit for the sunset & bird's eye views of the city & the lakes! ✨

Located on top of the hill giving a top class view of the Udaipur City. Nothing horror or spooky, disappointing for someone looking for that kind of adventure. Rain water harvesting tank is installed, the water is then passed within the wall to keep the palace cool. Nice Engineering! Entry ticket is around 100 per person but you also got to pay for the vehicle you are travelling in. Road from the gate to palace is curvaceous and not well maintained though scenic. Drive carefully, rented vehicles may grunt uphill. Palace itself is neat and clean. Drinking water only available at one place near the palace gate, more of them are required. Not differently able friendly.

Beautiful place in udaipur to watch the sunset as well as to get the panoramic view of the white city and magnificent aravali ranges.
The palace is around 3-4 km from the entry gate. Apart from entry tickets, there is an additional charge for carrying your private vehicle up to the palace. Taxi service is available from the gate on a payment basis. So it is a bit of an expensive attraction as compared to other prominent attractions of the city.

It's basically a scenic spot for viewing entire Udaipur from one single spot with superb Sunset view. Quite a few Langoors around so avoid carrying food in your hand or be a bit careful. There is a cafeteria as well but didn't try so can't say much about it. But as point was atop a hill, weather was pleasant in evening (even in March end summer). Entry fees is there with option of public transport to take you atop at additional charges. Entry is just next to zoo gate.

આ beautiful place and must visit location at Udaipur. It's quite far from city center but worth visiting it. Advisable to reach before 6:00 PM in summer to view sunset from the top of it. One can visit by own car or by cab. If you self drive it's nice experience to drive on curvy road with many hair pin curves. One has to be good driver to drive on this road. But driving itself will be an amazing experience. There is a very small museum and vast terrace to view surroundings and get a feeling of top of the world.

Nice place if you wish to chill and relax at the same time click great pictures.
People usually visit to see the sunset.
You can visit 2wheeler but the roads are good but the ghat makes it somewhat dangerous.
One can expect to spend 2-3 hours here.

Such a beautiful Palace to visit in monsoon!!! Views are next to the feeling of heaven 😍
There at the top you genuinely feel like you are in clouds!!
The way to sajjangarh is pretty more adventurous and beautiful 😍
The entry fees per head is 155/- + the vehicle charge !
And also only 2 persons are allowed on two wheeler 🙏🏻

Not worth the gross amount of money you spend to see the views. Rs 159 per head plus Rs 308 for your car. The only attraction is augmented reality projection with various animals projected along side your image on screen

The monsoons and winters must be amazing
We visited by the end of March and so may be the greenery was just a haze.
The view is amazing from any part of the palace.
However it's just that and the palace has literally nothing else

Very beautiful palace situated on top of a hill. City view from this palace is mesmerizing. There is nothing much to see inside the palace. It is called as Monsoon palace because, to watch the monsoon clouds. Ride through he jungle to visit the palace is refreshing. Must recommended in Udaipur.

First thing which you gonna experience is good mountains curves road. You can witness the same on my YouTube channel "lifeoftheriders". One of the best thing is sunset vibe. Wild life statue is good. Though the fort is very small. You will love the panaromic view around fort at a good height. Best time to visit this place is evening sunset time. Entry fees is around 50 rupees vehicle charge is separate. Overall good place to explore with friends and family.

The Monsoon Palace is a beautiful destination in Udaipur, offering stunning views of the city and the Aravalli mountain ranges. However, reaching the palace requires traveling a distance from the bottom of the hill. Unfortunately, some drivers can be reckless, making the journey adventurous and potentially dangerous for travelers. Despite this, the palace is definitely worth visiting. The cool winds within the palace add to its charm.

Since its located on a small hill, and its surrounded by forest , the view from the top is mesmerizing. Actual palace is pretty small and does not have many stuff to see apart from the scenic view. It has a small Cafe in the premises. There is a zoo downhill near main entrance, though it's nothing special and can be skipped if you are in a hurry. From entrance its about few kilometers uphill journey to reach the castle , though there are public transportation options, I would suggest that you bring your own vehicle.
Lake Pichola is a stunning artificial freshwater lake located in the heart of Udaipur, Rajasthan. Built in 1362, it is surrounded by hills, gardens, temples, and havelis. The lake features four islands including Arsi villa & Jag Niwas and serves as a tourist hotspot for its historical significance and scenic beauty. Visitors can enjoy boat rides on the lake and observe a variety of birds at the sanctuary. This picturesque destination offers an unforgettable experience for tourists exploring Rajasthan.
Wonderful and serene lake. It’s an artificial lake created to end the crisis of water during summer. Lakes in Udaipur are inter connected. Boat riding is must although the rate is little bit on the higher side. Upto 2 pm it’s Rs 500 for adults and 250 for children upto 12. After 2 pm, it’s 850 for adults and 450 for children. The motor boat ride is for one hour. At first they circle the lake for 15 mins, then they take you to Jag mandir and you can spend about half an hour there and come back with any boat showing your ticket from another ghat within Jag mandir. Your boat will not wait for you.

Lake Pichola in Udaipur is a serene and picturesque destination. The lake's sparkling waters and surrounding hills create a mesmerizing setting. It is best experienced by taking a boat ride and admiring the beautiful palaces and havelis that line its shores, including the famous Lake Palace and Jag Mandir. The calm atmosphere and stunning views make it an ideal spot for relaxation and capturing memorable photographs. However, the lake can get crowded during peak tourist season, so it's advisable to visit early in the morning or during weekdays for a more peaceful experience. Lake Pichola is a must-visit for its natural beauty and its association with Udaipur's royal history.

Lake pichola is one of the must-visit destinations for tourists, as it really justifies Udiapur as the lake city. This lake offers beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and the Taj Lake Palace, which is present at the centre of the lake, gives even more scenic views.
Boating at these places is really recommended in the evening, as you can enjoy the sunset while boating. The cost of boating is around 200-450 rupees per person, depending on the boat you choose. I would recommend visiting this place during the weekdays as it is very crowded on the weekends.

Amazing views and memorable experience. The boat ride and ropeway ride are just good to enjoy. There are many activities on top after reaching the top with ropeway. Like aquarium visit, virtual games, restaurants, massage therapy, fish foot spa, fire pan, chat cone etc.
There is also a photo service with Traditional costume. There is Karnimata temple and a Dargah up there. The view from the cable car cabin is quite nice. Ride is for 4 to 5 minutes. As only 3 cabins move up and down there may be a waiting time for 30 minutes on rush days.
Boat ride takes you to Jagmandir.

City Palace in Udaipur, Rajasthan is a sprawling complex that houses the palaces of 11 different rulers. Situated on the banks of Lake Pichola, it is a significant example of Rajasthani architecture. Built by Maharana Uday Singh in 1559, this majestic palace boasts a blend of medieval European and Chinese architectural styles with its various towers, domes, and arches.
A beautiful and majestic place! Very well maintained. It takes around 3 to 3:30 hrs to cover it. You need to buy ticket 300rs per person before entering the palace. It's a nice place for clicking some good pictures. There is also a small museum inside showcasing beautiful paintings, silver ware, different types of clothings used by the royal family. The interior of the palace was just as amazing as the exterior, with intricate details and stunning architecture at every turn. I highly recommend a visit to the City Palace to anyone interested in history, art, and culture. Five stars for the magnificent beauty and rich history of this palace!

During my visit to City Place in 2023, I had a wonderful experience. The ticket price for non-NRI visitors above a certain age was 300. It was definitely worth the price considering the incredible attractions and activities available. You can easily spend four to five hours exploring everything this place has to offer.
One of the highlights of City Place is its extensive range of museums. From art to history, there is something to cater to every interest. I was particularly impressed by the variety and depth of exhibits. Each museum provides a unique and enriching experience, allowing visitors to delve into different aspects of culture and knowledge.
Moreover, City Place offers picturesque spots that are perfect for capturing memorable photos. Whether you're a photography enthusiast or simply want to document your visit, you'll find countless opportunities to snap stunning pictures. What sets City Place apart is its ability to cater to diverse interests and age groups. Whether you're a history buff, an art lover, or simply seeking a place to spend quality time with friends and family, you'll find plenty to do and enjoy here.
In conclusion, my visit to City Place left me impressed and satisfied. The ticket price was reasonable considering the enriching experiences available. The Palace is very beautiful and gorgeous in most aspects. This was my first visit to Udaipur and visiting the City Palace grounds was one of my favorite moments spent here. The history this place speaks, the walls and the very ground, the pillars which has stood the test of time for centuries truly gives you some perspective towards time and life. You can spent some time and energy exploring what's within these walls and narrow passages and corridors or spend time sitting and relaxing in the garden when the sun goes down. Worth the visit, of course. Do not miss out on the surrounding places.

The views of the city and lake from the palace are great. The palace is maintained really well and it would have been a treat to just sit and take this place in but we had to move along in queues as there were way too many people.

-> I would recommend you to book a guide (negotiate if possible - there are lot of tour guides available around) because the guides have lots of stories and information related to the history of the palace and the events that took place around to share with you.
-> Avoid visiting during mid-noon as it becomes really hot to explore the place. So, prefer to visit during early day time or during the evening.

Bagore Ki Haveli is an ornate 18th-century palace located near Gangaur Ghat on the banks of Lake Pichola in Udaipur. This historic building, constructed between 1751 and 1778, boasts over 100 rooms showcasing traditional costumes, puppets, antique items such as jewelry boxes and copper utensils, as well as modern art. Came to see their traditional dance show, the courtyard of the museum was nicely decorated. It is better to come earlier as the place gets crowded very quickly. The performance itself was ok although they could've done a better show (it looked more like a volunteer school performance rather than a professional dance show). The tickets were pretty inexpensive (when bought directly at the museum) so overall, quite a good value for money.

Evening dance show is the prime attraction here. Since it gives you a real feel of Rajasthan & it’s diverse culture & tradition, I suggest not to miss it. However, there are a lot of loopholes as well, let’s discuss here below:
1. Only offline way to collect tickets, which will be distributed from the counter sharp 5:30pm. However, you have be in the queue almost 30 mins before to ensure you are able to make it else you will get next show tickets.
2. Since the show begins at 7, you have to be in the another queue that lets you enter in at 6:30pm. Hence, manage your timings well and keep something to eat especially if with kids.
3. I noticed, a family bought tickets with us for next show that starts at 8 pm but they were allowed to sit in an early show of 7pm. Corruption in India is so common.
4. You should reach early to get the proper seats, else you will end up watching just glimpses of the entire show as the seating is spread all over the terrace however, there are pillars, trees to block your view.
+ves:
1. Well trained dancers & musicians. Totally worth watching
2. Ticket price of 100/- is a nominal charge for the show displayed
3. Show starts sharp as per mentioned timings and there are no delays.
I recommend.

If you want to see the haveli and the museum only there will not be that long waiting time but if you want to see the cultural presentation show then you need to wait for an hour to get the ticket. Two shows they do in a day. But from 5pm you have to stand in queue to book the tickets. They present three to four kinds of dances from different districts of Rajasthan that includes the national heritage one, "Kalbeliyaa dance". Overall it's a good representation.

A Glimpse into History at Bagore Ki Haveli
Bagore Ki Haveli offers a riveting journey into the rich tapestry of ancient history, boasting a picturesque view and a hospitable staff. The ample parking space ensures a hassle-free experience for visitors. However, there is room for improvement as the maintenance and cleanliness could be enhanced, and the ticket pricing for the cultural performances and haveli entry might exceed one's expectations.
While exploring, it is advisable to opt for alternative modes of transportation due to limited space for four-wheelers. Additionally, a visit to the local market at Gangour Ghat is recommended, although haggling might be necessary. Overall, addressing these concerns before the next visit would significantly enhance the overall experience for patrons.

This is a place near Gangaur ghat, where folk dance and music is arranged daily in the evening. It is an old Haveli converted into the cultural center. The folk music and dances performed are very good and give you a glimpse of traditions. The tickets are limited, so you have to buy it at around 5.30 pm for 7.00 pm timing. But, after buying tickets, you can spend your time at nearby Gangaur ghat, which is also a beautiful place.

This haveli event is a must visit to see the cultural dance and music show they have in the evenings.
They have parking available, however, on the peak days it might be full.
They show many cultural types of dance and the videos are attached.
They have food items available outside so you can enjoy that.
You have to wait for 8-9 show if the show for 7-8 is booked.
For the show, come 15-20 minutes before the start time to be early in the line and have better seat to enjoy the show.
They have enough seating available for you to enjoy.
Visit this place and enjoy the culture.

Saheliyon ki Bari, a stunning garden in Udaipur, is renowned for its lush greenery, intricate marble art, and enchanting fountains. Built by the Maharana for the royal ladies of Mewar, it features four water pools, marble elephants, kiosks, and fountains. The garden also houses a museum displaying household items and pets of the residents.
It is a great place to spend your afternoons or evenings with your family. It is a huge garden rich in history and culture. The middle courtyard consists of a pool with fountains and pink and white flowers on the walls surrounding it. Behind the courtyard there's a circular fountain filled with lotus leaves and the fountain are sound sensitive, the flow of water increases or decreases when you clap which is pretty cool. The place is very cool and has lush greenery. A great place to click pictures. Had a great time here.

Nice place to spend time on weekends. Lots of greenery is there and the dense trees help to get rid from the burning sun. Ticket price is 20/- per person. Fountains were there but not all were in working condition. If they get repaired then it would be more fun to visit here and we enjoy beautiful views.

Water and snacks can be taken into the garden if you plan to spend a long time there. Wearing flat and comfortable shoes is a must, given that the streets of the garden are often wet and moist due to the fountains. Cameras are also allowed. Try to Visit this Place at evening or early morning.

This garden is like a beautiful oasis with lots of greenery and flowers.
There are fountains and ponds with lilies, which make it very peaceful.

A well maintained garden from centuries back. Good place to relax. You can cover it in less than half an hour if you're in a hurry.
PS: the magical fountain that is said to be switching on and off by clapping is actually a marketing trick. As a guide explains this to the visitors, an employee there (visible in one of the videos) waits for them to clap so that he can push and pull a controlling lever!

An excellent park built centuries ago, this was for the exclusive use of Royal family women. With great foresight & compassion, the Mewad rules built this oasis for royal women & their friends to escape the arid weather of the region. Currently maintained by the government, this is a good place to visit during the late afternoon hours. This area is surrounded by eateries & souvenir shops, making it a wholesome outing. Dhebar Lake, also known as Jaisamand Lake, is a man-made lake located in Udaipur, India. The lake was built during the 17th century by constructing a dam and has since become an official Heritage Monument of India. It is one of the largest artificial lakes in the world and is situated amidst the Great Indian Thar Desert.
I had put this place on my Udaipur Itinerary and I am glad I did so. Was easily the most fun I had on the trip. Booked an entire boat for an hour all to myself. Mr. Shiv Puri, the boat operator was friendly and helpful. Explore the place for a whole day if you like! The lake is huge and there are historical monuments nearby. The sights of the small islands on the water are beautiful and you can even make stops.

This beautiful man made lake is the 2nd largest in Asia. Which provides drinking water to Udaipur though being about 50 kms from the city . Has been built between 1711-1730 by the ruler of the famous Mewar royal family, roughly 387 years ago.
Also, I took this shot from a place which is popular by the name Roothi Rani ka Mahal initially know as “Hawa Mahal”.

Surrounded by lush green mountains, white marble temples and ethereal palaces reflected in its sparkling blue waters, the Jaisamand Lake is a spectacular vision. Around 50 km from Udaipur, Jaisamand is the second largest artificial lake in Asia. Built by Maharaja Jai Singh in 1685, the lake covers an area of 36 sq km with a length of 14 km and width of 9 km. The lake has a depth of about 102 feet!
Also known as Dhebar, the lake was constructed, while the king was building a dam on the Gomti river. The dam on the lake is massive in size: 1,202 ft in length, 116 ft in height and width of 70 ft at the bottom. At the centre of the lake is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. And on its shore is a spectacular summer palace that was once the retreat of the Udaipur royal family's women. The lake also has six marble cenotaphs on its embankment. There are seven islands in the lake and the largest of these is Babaka Bhagra.
With beautiful marble steps that gently descend into the water, the lake-side is perfect to sit and watch the rippling waters. There are boat rides available and a sanctuary nearby (Jaisamand Sanctuary), which was the hunting grounds of the the Mewar royal family, and today is home to various types of birds and animals like panthers, leopards, deer and wild boars

This is the last spot where the second half of the battle of Haldighati was fought between Maharana Pratap and the Mughals. As a result, thousands of soldiers o on both sides were died and their blood flowed to such an extent that it formed a pool. At present it just a park. The “Haldighati” name derived because of soil of this region is like “Haldi” (Turmeric). “Haldighati” war fought between the Soldiers of Akbar.. headed by Raja Man Singh of Amber & Maharana Pratap. War was one of the bloodiest battle ever fought, it was so fierce that even today the land still seems to be carrying the shade of the blood shed here. There was heavy rain on that war evening & all blood got mix up with yellow mud of Haldi Ghati and washed out in this pond; it looked like blood pond as its name suggest “Rakt Talai”
During this battle, Maharana's faithful horse “Chetak” was injured on one of his hind legs when he confronted Maan Singh who was on an elephant.
A historic battle, a brave hero and wonderful vibes make this place an outstanding memorial to bravery anywhere in the world.
Considering the history attached to it Govt has given very less importance to it. Need more efforts from tourism department. There is one guide who narrate the history of battle at this place..

A must visit when in Udaipur. The temple
is about 2 hour drive so plan well. The temple has 8 darshan timings and this is important to follow to visit the temple. It has a website and allows you to book the darshan. Please do that there are touts all along who will scam you for darshan by quoting higher prices.
The temple management has made lines and queues etc but it is not very friendly or easy to navigate.
As tourists if you have limited time plan very well and book the tickets from the temple website.
The locals seem to understand the timing and darshan formality so they are fine with the line systems.
The temple is closed for 15 mins every hour and allows only 45 mins darshan.
The temple has a lunch break as well from 2-4 (time varies) there is always a queue.
They don’t allow mobiles so you will have to deposit them as well.
And again there will be a queue for that as well.
There is cow shed near by in case you want to visit.
The folks all around will try to fleece you for money so be very careful and the place is full of tourist traps

Chittorgarh Fort is a vast 240-hectare citadel that has stood for over 1,000 years. It features intricate palaces, temples and gateways. The site exudes history and the ambiance is breathtaking during sunset. Visitors are often accompanied by friendly monkeys and dogs which make for great photo opportunities. A guide can be hired to efficiently navigate through important areas of the fort; however, visitors should refrain from carrying food due to the abundance of monkeys in the area.
It is a huge fort with many attractions! You need 3-4 hours to see the fort completely. If you just want to see main attractions you need couple of hours. There aren't many restaurants nearby and the few which are there are very expensive. I would suggest to visit the fort early morning as it gets very hot after 12. There is an entry fee of Rs.40 pp. The fort has a big history so if you are interested in knowing you should hire a guide, it would charge you around 500-600. It is a do visit place for all the historic lovers.

There is not one site, but it has about 9-10 different visiting locations inside the fort !
It will take you almost 3 days to visit the complete location properly !
You can travel via Auto inside the fort premises, so no issues of that
But the fort and everything inside it is just beautiful! 😍

Good place for an evening outing with family. It houses miniature models of 7 wonders of the world: pyramid, Roman Colosseum, Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal, Statue of Liberty, Christ the Redeemer, tower of Pisa. Kids can play in the park and see the wonders. You can click good pictures in the park. It’s well maintained and clean place. Some eateries are there in the park for refreshments and fast food. Vehicle parking is there at the entrance at very nominal price.
Just on the lakeside of Kishor Sagar lake in Kota, these seven wonders are miniaturised version of great structures and monuments in the world like Eiffel Tower, Leaning tower of Pisa, Pyramids, Taj Mahal etc. Beautifully built, they are a treat to the eyes and look majestic near the lake providing a beautiful vista. It looks much more beautiful in the evening when colourful lights are illuminated on the structures. This is a ticketed entry but very nominal. Do visit if you are in Kota. Fooding options are very limited, only one cafe but not very good. Otherwise a great place to spend time in the evening.

Seven Wonders in Kota is a decent place to visit, but it falls short in capturing the essence of an ancient environment. While efforts have been made to create a good experience, there's a noticeable lack of authenticity that leaves visitors wanting more.
The replicas of the seven wonders are well-made, showcasing impressive craftsmanship. However, the overall ambiance fails to transport visitors to the awe-inspiring settings of these ancient marvels. There's a missing element that prevents a truly immersive experience.
Despite this, Seven Wonders still offers some enjoyable moments, especially for those interested in architecture and historical monuments. It can be a fun outing for families and groups looking to appreciate iconic landmarks in a condensed format.

Garh Palace is a historical attraction comprising of a grand Rajput castle and several smaller palaces dating back to the 17th century. The castle boasts stunning wall murals, which are well-preserved by the management. Tourists can visit several palaces within the palace complex, including Chatra Mahal, Badal Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sinhasan and Ratan Daulat,Hathi Pol,and Chitrashaala.
Majestic fort complex made by hada rajput dynasty of Bundi. lot of storeys made one above the other along the hills. Architecture, strength and good cooling effects. Some storeys are still not opened. Govt should renovate this beautiful heritage site and increase the amenities especially accessibility

Entrance:
There is a steep walk to reach the main entrance. Its advisable to take water bottle from the ticketing window as you wont find anything to drink or eat once inside the fort.
View:
The top of the fort gives a panoramic view of the Bundi town.
Inside:
Its more of a fort than a palace. A small portion of this monument is preserved while the rest is mostly in ruins. When we visited, it was being renovated. There is one garden in the entrance which is well maintained.
Terrace:
Terrace is a must visit to soak in the sun in winters. Here is where you can see the entire town and a nearby lake.
Beware of monkeys and also honey bees as they build combs frequently.
Staff:
The staff is quite helpful and cautious and will help you with directions.
All in all - must visit if you are in Bundi.

Very nice palace and beautiful paintings. The guards a very helpful and open the different rooms for you to see the paintings.
On the other hand…very disappointed that I could not access the fort…the way to the fort is full of big and agressive monkeys…even the guards are telling you to be careful. Something should be done regarding the monkeys because at the end you cannot do the full visit.

As such Bundi is a small and dirty place but it has a gem in the form of Garh Palace. There is a entry ticket as almost all of it is still owned by Royals of Bundi. There is a small free parking near the entrance but you may find a irritating and rude woman claiming to be parking attendant. Beware of her, she is a fraud. There are strange rules as one can use mobile to take pictures and make videos but one cannot use selfie stick. Inside Garh Palace there are different palaces constructed by different kings. All worth visiting like Badal Mahal. King's throne made of marble is unique and amazing. There is also Chitralekha with beautiful garden, shivling and a gallery of Bundi's paintings. Chitralekha is maintained by Archeological Survey of India and paintings are stunningly beautiful. Also inside Garh Palace is the Bundi fort. The fort covers the whole of the hills which surround Bundi. Inside the fort one has to be very careful as wild monkeys are there and they do attack. Go in big groups and carry sturdy sticks. I loved Garh Palace, if you are unfortunate to be in Bundi due to some bad luck, you can still visit Garh Palace to redeem bad luck.

Taragarh Fort is an awe-inspiring historical landmark built in 1113 during the reign of King Ajaypal Chauhan. The fort boasts of remarkable architectural design and exquisite stone carvings that are intricately crafted. It is surrounded by lush greenery, which enhances its overall beauty and adds to the charm of this ancient structure. Taragarh Fort is a testament to India's rich cultural heritage and serves as a reminder of its glorious past.
About 20 minute hike through the slope and steps. Carry water bottle. Winter and post monsoon season is best. Amazing views from both side of hill. Old palace and water harvesting wells constructed. Govt must renovate the heritage and increase amenities.. Must go to the back side for lake and tower view

A one time visit place. Although build thoughtfully, there is no attractions like the other forts of same era. Most of the art work is damaged.
There is q lack of basic amenities like water and toilets in the fort.

Good things:-
You get nice view of Bundi City, I believe in rainy season it must looks stunning.
Not good things:-
- Not maintained, smelly at major parts of the fort.
- Compared to other forts in Rajasthan, Taragrh has lost it's beauty.
- Lady managing the parking lot misbehave with tourists. The staff at the fort cares nothing about it.
- After a long steep trail leading towards Rani Mahal, you hope for a opulent Rani palace but you get is ruins and a dirty stepwell.

Located on the Nagpahadi hill, one of the tall mountains of the Aravalli range, Taragarh Fort is a magnificent fortress. It stands at an elevation of 1426 feet atop the mountain peak, serving as an excellent example of a hill fort. Also known as the "Fort of Bundi," it was constructed by Rao Deva Hada, the founder of Bundi, in the 14th century (1354). Three grand gates were built to enter this fortress situated on the steep slope of the Aravalli mountains. The construction of this fort was carried out by Rao Bar Singh Hada, and its gates are known as Lakshmi Pol, Hathi Pol, and Bhoota Darwaza, along with Gaugarh Gate. The Hathi Pol gate is adorned with colossal elephant statues. The palaces within the fort are unique due to their architectural finesse and fresco paintings. Among these palaces, Chattar Mahal, Aniruddha Mahal, Ratan Mahal, Badal Mahal, and Phool Mahal are prominent.

It's an amazing historical fort from where you can get a good view of the city, however it is ill maintained. The city of Bundi has a lot potential to develop as a tourist destination but the government is not interested to bring Bundi on the tourist map of India.
Historically
It is a massive fort in Bundi and built at a height of 500 meters on a hill by Rao Singh Bar in the 13th century under the reign of King Ajaypal Chauhan. Built in 1354 AD, although the fort is now in a ramshackle state, the Taragarh Fort still remains one of the most impressive forts in Rajasthan. It is built on a steep hill and now is overgrown by vegetation.
Unlike most forts in Rajasthan which are made of Sandstone the Taragarh Fort is made of serpentine stone which is green in colour. It remains one of the few forts in Rajasthan which does not show influences of Mughal style of art and architecture.
