The facilities need to be improved. However, it is worth visiting.

Excellent Trekking Experience ❣️
View from the mountain top is majestic.
Parking facility available..

No leeches , But flies swarming here and there 🐝
Best palace fro trekking with your friends..
Challenging task 🤩

One of the best trekking experience in Coorg.
If you are staying in madikeri it would be 48kms drive.
You will be reaching a base camping area and parking the vehicle, from there the trek starts.
After 10mits of walk will be reaching the forest check post where you will be paying 250/- for an adult and bags would be checked.
Request not to litter anywhere during the trek.
From the check posy you will be walking 2kms normally and the next 2kms would be Streep walk.
Can carry trek pole or a strong stick for the support.
There are places would be leeches and slippery, so prepare for that with well balanced shoes and sanitizers.
The mesmerizing views, mist and wind will gives a different experiences.
I feel 250/- per person is slightly on expensive side and there won't be any forest gaurd during the trek
VINOD VENUGOPAL — Google review
We travelled in our own vehicle so we were able to go till the trek start point easily.
No parking fee.
Trek fee -250 per adult.
We started at 8:30 in the morning, reached peak by 9:45 and returned back by 11:30. It's 3-4 hour in total.
Path : First half is easy, challenges start from second half. In mid there's a patch of thick forest which is tough (this patch is about 1/2 km) beware of Lee's here.
Also there are few small waterfalls flowing through the journey.
It's sooo slippery, even though it isn't raining there are chances of slipping.
Eatery: There's a small shop at parking.
Also not to forget this place has some beautiful and unique flowers on it. I preserved a few for myself.
Monica Shantharaj — Google review
Must visit place near Coorg. We went for hike on Feb 20th, it's a moderate trek for beginners like us. We found two shops over there for refreshments ( one near the parking and one near the forest department checkpost ), post that you won't see any shops... So store enough water. By 1.30pm - 2pm entry at the checkpost will be closed
jayakumar umapathy — Google review
This peak is 3rd highest in Karnataka , and highest in district of Kodagu.
Beautiful experience. Short trek of 2hr each side , you get a blissful experience of wonderful views , the change of weather , amazing trails and few crawly blood sucking friends along the way.
Start the trek at 7-8am in the morning , take ample amount of water , food with you. Avoid plastics. You need to go through forest check post for registration and checking.
100/- will be entry fee.
Any speakers , illegal items like cigars, alcohol won't be allowed.
Plastic count will be taken and verified at time of return, if not brought back, you ll be fined for the same.
Begin your trek with as much less luggage as possible. Wear proper shoes, keep checking for leaches for every 15min.
If you're good trekker. It wouldn't take you more than 1.5-2hr, for beginers 2.5-3hr will be sufficient.
You can get bread omlet , Maggie, water, biscuits and other stuff at start of base trekking point. Fuel yourself with some of those as you ll need energy.
2 wheelers and powerfull SUVs can manage upto starting base point, larger vehicles should be parked 2km behind, the road to this point is highly terrainious.
The path at few points will be slippery,
Have proper grip shoes or gear of your preference.
Experience the wonderfull views, do not litter or damage the flora and fauna of this place.
Best time to visit - Monsoon and post monsoon.
Have a proper raincoat if you prefer monsoon trek.
Mohith Nayak M — Google review
This is one of the Karnataka’s highest peak, this place is very clean don’t spoil it, keep your garbage with your self and dispose them in right place.
Its moderate trek in this monsoon season beginners can achieve it easily, be prepared for rain and leeches(you can find max here), the view is not clear due to rain and mist, if you’re a good journey enjoyer you can take this but if you expect ending view it’s quite a disappointing.
During weekdays you won’t get food water and any basic things in this area so be prepared while going,
Forest officers are good helping and informative
GANESH NAGARAJU — Google review
Moderate trek that can be climbed in 1hr starting from the car parking near forest office. It's 4km from there. Amazing view at the peak! Would definitely reccommend to start early to avoid crowd.

One of the best and crazy experience of my life ❤️
Beautiful place ! It bit rough but the view is worth!!
we starting the treak by 7-7:30..... Complete fog ! Simba a black lab dog will show you the roads if you feed few biscuits....
You will see different tarrians after 1-2 km you will enter into jungle kind of tarrian and that's quite challenging. Untill this point of time we had no clue where were. Careful about leaches
We were at the top and yet fog was not cleared around 10 fog was cleared and the view 🤩🤩🤩 worth every moment

Our trek become more adventurous when we received heavy pour while descending due to which slipped and almost rolled 3 times with a near thought that I am going to end up at the bottom of hill.
Trek is mostly easy and a bit tough in last 20-30 mins as the path is more slippery, steep and dense.

Talakaveri, also known as Talacauvery, is a sacred site for Hindu devotees and believed to be the origin of river Kaveri. Situated on Brahmagiri hills near Bhagamandala in Karnataka State's Coorg district, it lies in close proximity to Kasaragod district's border. This location holds significant religious importance and attracts many visitors every year.
Talakaveri Temple, located on the Bhramagiri hills, is renowned for its connection to the holy river Kaveri. Visitors are permitted to bathe in the spring waters of this sacred river. The temple features separate idols for Lord Shiva and Ganesha and emphasizes worship of the Kaveri river. It is recommended that visitors dress formally when entering the temple, with a separate shoe stand available at the entrance.
Spread across a vast area high up on the hills. The location itself makes the place worth visiting.
Beautiful temple area inside. One side looks down on the hills and offers great views.
Very cool, calm and clean ambience here.
Be sure to very appropriate clothes.
Must visit as a tourist spot and also as a spiritual place.
Plenty of parking outside. Location easily found on maps.
Pay toilets there inside.

The temple is located on a hill top. Hence, it was quite chilly out there. The temple is quite small. The view from the temple is quite scenic.
There is a dress code to follow at the temple. Shorts and short skirts are not allowed inside the temple premises. Devotees can wear traditional/ethnic clothes or a pair of shirt/t-shirt and full trousers.
It was a good experience overall.

Enjoy the peace and beauty of the place. Road to temple is quite good. Parking is free and no entry fee to temple. Be careful of dress code, shorts etc are not allowed. Wear decent clothing. Temple closes sharp at 6pm, i have requested for a timing update in google. By evening, clouds were coming down and floating near temple, such a great experience. Kids enjoy running around.

This is a beautiful temple and has a great view. Definitely recommend to visit it. Shorts not allowed, so please ensure to dress appropriately. The temple is 45 km from the city and it takes more than 1 hour to drive up to the temple. So consider that. Also the roads are curvy, so people with motion sickness can have some difficulty.
Abhishek Sohane — Google review
You need to park your vehicle before climbing the short inclination. There are steps and needs a 10 min walk cum climb to the temple. We had a chance to touch and feel the source of Kaveri! A place with scenic beauty.
Dr. Swathy J.R. — Google review
The birth place of the river Kaveri. It was amazing to visit the place at this time of the year as the whole place was covered in fog and limited our view. The temple is beautiful and is a must visit place. Please make sure to not wear shorts while visiting as you won't be allowed inside.

1. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE COMING JUST TO VISIT OR TO SEE THE HILL VIEW POINT AS IT IS CLOSED.
2. It takes around 2hr+ to reach here on the way to coorg. The road is very narrow and uphill. Also it's very bad.
3. They charge 20/- as forest permits, 40/- as panchayat charges. Parking is free however, however if its crowded you wont get parking and have to walk very long.
4. There is a chappal stand 3/- per chappal and toilet @5/-. Prasad is there @20/-.
5. Photography is prohibited from the temple. However you can click pictures chupke chupke.
There is nothing great to see here, as we are from Goa It's common for us goans. The route which leads here is very long and boring. That's the only reason.
Siddhant Bhandari — Google review
The route to Talakaveri Temple from Madikeri is simply breathtaking. The temple itself is also amazing, with stunning scenic surroundings. It is a must-visit if you are around Coorg.
Sahith P — Google review
Located about 45 kms from Kodagu, Talakaveri is considered the source of river Kaveri.
It si believed that the Kodavas erected a tank next to the temple and that the river originates as a spring feeding a tank or a Kundike and then flows underground to re-emerge as Kaveri some distance away.
The temple is dedicated to the Goddess Kaveriamma next to the tank and bathing in it on special occasions is considered holy. Its a great place to walk around,
Next to the temple there is a hill which can be climbed by taking about 400 steps. One can get scenic views of th forest around and the hills of Coorg. Even from the temple level, one can get a good views.
On a week end the place gets crowded. There is no entry fee and the place is open from 6.00 am to 8.30 pm. Parking is outside the complex on the road.

Heaven on earth.
STRICT Hindu temple only for pilgrimage & offering Puja & sacred Mantras. No picnic, no romance & not eating anything. Do not pollute & throw waste. This place came into being millions of years ago when the Earth was one land mass.
Muslims & Christians please don't go; you won't understand the value of such an important religious place of Hindus.
Humans consuming beef should avoid this place for sure.

It is believed that the river kaveri originates here. The way to this temple is a bit far from madikeri, so if you are planning to visit this place getting an auto sometimes might be hard, so one of the best way is to reach till bagmandala temple by auto and from there take a bus to here and while returning take a bus till here back. But if you are lucky, you can get an auto ride from madikeri like we did which is almost a 40-45 mins ride from madikeri. The view there is just so beautiful, could literally see the clouds moving around. This auspicious place is a must visit in coorg. Loved every bit of it. It was so windy and misty and the view was just amazing!

Located in Coorg, the Scotland of India, this is a beautiful temple that blends in with nature. Summers can be a bit hot, but a trip here during winters and rainy season will give you an unforgettable experience. The temple is the origin of Karnataka's holy river Kaveri. Starting from a spring in the temple pond, the river later splits into three, one of which flows west and merges with the Chandragiri river. Another is the Kabani river which flows eastwards to Wayanad. The third and most important river is the Kaveri River. Kaveri is known as the mother of Kodakin. This is the Triveni Sangam in South India. It is known as a tourist center but being a holy or a sacred place, it is better to be careful about dress code etc. Wearing low cut frocks, shorts etc. cannot enter the temple premises. There is plenty of space to park vehicles. It is best to be careful not to take pictures from places where photography is prohibited.

Talakaveri is said to be the source of River Cauvery. Although the source that is the flow of water is not always visible. During rainy season, one can get a glimpse of the same. River Cauvery is one of the seven sacred rivers of Sapta Sindhus belonging to the Hindu scriptures.

The Sri Bhagandeshwara Temple is a significant Hindu pilgrimage site situated near the confluence of three rivers. The temple features multiple idols and showcases exquisite Kerala style architecture, attracting thousands of devotees every day. Traditional daily prayers are offered, followed by the distribution of Prasada as food to followers. The atmosphere is peaceful and well-maintained with remarkable wooden cuttings at the top of the temple structure.
Bhagamandala is 40 km from Madikeri (on the way to Talakaveri). It is known to have been built by the Chola kings in the 11th century. The architecture of many of the temples here is reminiscent of the temple style of Kerala. There are temples of Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva or Bhagandeshwara (local famous name for Lord Shiva), Lord Subramanya and Lord Vishnu. What I like most about this temple complex is its cleanliness and very quiet environment.
We were not too crowded the day we went and we were able to pray quietly and hurriedly. Also you can get annaprasadam on afternoon.
The Triveni Sangam is also nearby, where you can bathe in the river and enjoy the natural beauty. In fact, it is the confluence of three rivers, the Kaveri, the Kannike and the Sujoti. This association is also known as the Triveni Association. After bathing at Triveni, one goes to Dakaveri, about 8 km from Bhagamandala.
Om Nama Shivaya.

Shree Bhagandeshwara Temple is located at the Bhagamandala Village at a height of 898 metres and at a distance of eight Kms from Talakaveri and around 20 Kms from Madikeri town of Coorg. The temple is famous and is visited by residents as well as tourists. Deities of Ishwara (Shiva), Ganapati, Subramanya and Mahavishnu are worshipped. It is crowded on weekends and holidays with long queues but is well organised. They serve simple but delicious veg meal during lunch time, which devotees relish. Shops nearby sell items produced in the area such as Coffee, Honey, gift items etc. A divine visit.

A historical and holy temple. Thousands of devotees visit every day.
Kerala style architecture of the temple is excellent. Ambience is superb. Maintenance is good. Every day prayers are offered by following traditional practices. After maha mangalarathi at noon, food is offered to devotees as Prasada.

Bhagamandala in Madikeri is a beautiful place to visit. It's a small town in Karnataka, India, known for its religious significance and natural beauty.
The first thing you notice is the peaceful atmosphere. Surrounded by lush greenery and the calming sound of the river, it's a perfect spot to relax and unwind. The air is fresh and clean, making it a great escape from the city.
One of the main attractions is the Triveni Sangama, where three rivers come together. It's a sacred place for Hindus and a nice place to take a short boat ride to experience the confluence.
The temples in Bhagamandala are another highlight. The Sri Bhagandeshwara Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is architecturally fascinating. It's a place where you can experience spirituality and tranquility.
The local market offers a variety of souvenirs and local produce. Don't miss the chance to try the delicious local cuisine, especially the Coorgi dishes.
However, it's important to note that the town can get a bit crowded during peak tourist seasons. To fully enjoy the serenity, it's best to visit during the off-season.
Overall, Bhagamandala is a lovely place to visit for a peaceful retreat, a glimpse into spirituality, and a taste of local culture.
Jungle Lodges and Resorts - Dubare Elephant Camp is an ideal destination for nature lovers seeking thrilling experiences. Situated in a beautiful location surrounded by nature, this riverside resort offers diverse activities such as elephant bathing, feeding, and riding experiences along with rafting on the Kaveri River. The staff is very cooperative and friendly, always going beyond their limits to make guests' stays comfortable. The safari guide and nature walk instructor are knowledgeable individuals who enhance the experience further.
Nature fills your heart. Awesome safari in the deep forest but only lucky people get to see forest wild life🙂 Highly refreshing morning walk. Beautiful River by the side. Lovely elephant camp with very sweet baby elephants. With hot & tastey food & surprisingly varieties we enjoyed the whole atmosphere. Not to forget the campfire. Big 👍for the staff. But they have to find a place in the river for tourists to spend time in water. This is the big negative point 😔

This is an excellent place for a getaway. I joined the keep safari (only managed to see bisons) and the nature walk. Elephant bathing, feeding and tell us how they are trained. Elephant bathing is an excellent experience showing relationships between humans and elephants. Food is excellent and people are really cordial. Fun place to be......

This spot was definitely the highlight of our trip to India. We saw lots of wild animals on the jeep safari including elephants, Gauls, birds and a boar! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about local species and had a great eye for spotting them. Washing the elephants and feeding them was also a highlight. We made unforgettable memories and got some incredible pictures!

Resort is a very good place to relax amidst nature and river. The resort lies on the other side of the river and hence you will be taken in boat to the resort which is a very beautiful ride. The staff is courteous and helpful. The package includes safari unfortunately no animals other than bison, peacock are sighted. Elephant camp is a decent experience where elephants are given bath and fed.

A very unique place where you get to observe elephants in all their glory. You get to feed the elephants ( ₹50 per bundle ), and if you are lucky, they even let you give a bath to the elephants at river, which flows through camp. Overall a very fulfilling experience in the nature with mighty elephants.

It's an unique experience here in Dubare elephant camp. Forest view cottages were amazing. You can see camp elephants grazing around all day. Enjoyed hours long safari in wild forest

Went for elephant interaction package - recommend if you are going to see elephant camp only. We didn't stay there. While others had to cross the river by walk - we got boat ride and breakfast ( included in the package). They have a separate area for elephant bath.

Trip was excellent. staff was good. Worth the price very good experience. River view was excellent.
Nature walk and elephant bathing experience was great. Food was good.
Only suggestion that could be improved is to move from the normal safari vehicles to electric vehicles so that the animals can be spotted without the sound of the loud diesel engines.

One must visit place in coorg. You can watch and feed elephants. Reaching the camp itself is adventurous and fun. You can also go for river rafting. Don't expect it to be like the one you see on the posters🤭. You can row and also get down to play.
Make sure to reach the place before 11:30am.

I would recommend to book in advance for the Elephant Interactions - which costs Rs.1000/- per head through Jungle lodges and Resorts, Karnataka official website. Though bit costly, it's totally worth it. Breakfast plus transportation through boat will also be included in this fare.
You don't have to wait in long long queue, don't have to wait for interactions with many elephants also. Totally worth it !

This resort is perfectly located on the banks of Kaveri. Each room comes with a good scenic view and a balcony to enjoy it. We took the family cottage room that came with the serene view of the forest. The rooms and washrooms are clean, well-maintained and of high quality.
And the best part of our stay was the exceptional hospitality! Right from the manager to the stewards, each and every one was friendly, welcoming and always attentive to our needs. Many times they went out of their way to help us. We are extremely impressed with their hospitality, which I assure can rival a 5-star hotel.
Overall, we had a great time. We had breakfast, lunch, dinner, Safari, Elephant bath, nature walk included in our package. It was truly an amazing experience!

Wow, this location is just serene, amazingly overwhelming. The choice of the month or the time of year you plan to visit should be a bit planned or could lead to dismay. Ŵell, this is an amazing location. You reach here by crossing the river. It's in itself a great thrill to enjoy. You don't have to pay anything to cross the river, but entering the camp and pursuing activities have a bit of charges involved.

After reaching location we need to cross river....there are two options one is river rafting and second one is walking.... crossing the river is so adventurous and nice one. After reaching elephant camp there was elephant bathing and feeding, but not as expected. Only thing kids will enjoy.... There is entry ticket to see the elephants....Apart from that if you want to participate in any activity like elephant bathing or feeding you need to take extra ticket. Overall it was ok

Loved this place. The view was so amazing to see sunset. Sunset was not visible as it was drizzling here and there. But that was not bad either. It was beautiful to see various clouds moving as well. Also, they were constricting and renovating the view path.
The place was clean. Visitors did not trash the place much. The park had lots of greens and flowers. Once the construction is complete, I trust that there would be more adjacent view points.

Raja’s seat is basically a well maintained park which has wide variety of flowers planted at the entrance and various animal statues installed all over the park. Kids would enjoy this place. Once you reach the other end of the park, the view will just blow your mind. The best time to visit the place would be during sunset. There is a sitting area with benches to sit, relax and enjoy the sunset. Parking area for vehicles is about 100 meters away from the park.

It's a must visit if you long for Buddhist teachings and principles.
The silence in those temples have an energy of it's own, which you'll feel as soon you as enter the gates.
However, most of the times many local tourists forget to maintain that silence and respect for the place, so do what many sign boards in the place will tell you to - 'keep silence'.
There are shops within the premises from where you can buy momentos to remember this place physically as mentally this place will stay with you.
Also try out the restaurants nearby, they are actually very good and light on your pockets. The local cuisine will help you connect to the place and people even more.

Not worth going all the way 30kms from COORG,. It's all the way 1km walk from parking lot, It's a very commercialized site now. Shopping area outside is good if you have a great bargaining prowess. One Saree showroom had a 50% discount which was very great bargain hunting.

Lovely place, the rope bridge across the river is main attraction.
Huge market outside.
Entry fee is 10 rs.

Paddle boating is also available.
Adventure sports mini versions are also available.

Nice place in Coorg. They have a deer park and also a bird park. Entry for both is separate charges. There is also some activities available here like zip lining for an additional charge. Built in a large space and has some great views. Boating also available

A scenic place for sure but only interesting things are the wooden suspension bridge over kaveri river and bamboo(which you can see literally anywhere). They charge you for parking, entry, activities (which are not at all worth it). When you enter it feels like a couple's paradise as everywhere you see are couples visiting for some quality time, other than that theirs a small shopping and food zone at the entrance.TLDR skip this place if you are planning on visiting here.

Abbey Falls is a picturesque tourist attraction located 1 kilometer from the town, known for its natural beauty and mesmerizing sound of water cascading over rocks. Surrounded by lush coffee plantations and spice estates, it was previously named Jessie Falls during colonial times. With a height of around 70 feet, this magnificent waterfall joins the Kaveri River and provides visitors with stunning views amidst its scenic surroundings.
Good place to visit. A lovely waterfall though water was less as it was March. A rope bridge to other side of fall is broken currently. Need a long walk across various steps. People with walking /climbing issues need to be careful while visiting. There are benches on the way for people to rest. Well maintained area with a entry fee for visitors and parking fee for cars. Must visit if you are in Madikeri.
Hareesha — Google review
The waterfalls at this location are a sight to behold. It is necessary to descend around 100 steps to get to the base of the falls, but the view is worth it. The surrounding plantations add to the beauty of the area. While the overall experience was positive, the bridge leading to the falls could have been better maintained.
The water from the falls is refreshing and has the ability to wash away stress and rejuvenate the senses. It's no wonder that this place is a must-visit for nature lovers. Thanks to the efforts of the local community in Coorg, this beautiful natural attraction has been preserved for all to enjoy. The small fee of Rs.10 for entry is a small price to pay for such a mesmerizing experience.

Good one.. We have to watch and come back from a point. No access to reach/ touch/ bath in falls. You have to visit the point through stairs only. No ramp or other source. Elderly people may face difficulty. So I have rated 3. Presently this photo is my mobiles wall paper.
Gowdham Kt — Google review
Visited here last year, it was a sunny day and humidity was high. It would have been wonderful if we could have access to the waterfall but we saw that the bridge was broken(not actually broken but twisted in a weird way). Still it looked quite stunning while in sunlight. Even though I hope that the bridge is fixed soon so that waterfall might become accessible, in a way it's good because people might start littering near the waterfall and it wouldn't be the same.

Abbe Falls in Coorg is a breathtaking natural wonder that left me in awe. The moment I arrived, the sound of cascading water and the lush greenery captivated my senses. The falls were a beautiful sight, with water gushing down the rocks, creating a mesmerizing view.
The pathway to the falls was well-maintained, making the journey enjoyable and safe. I appreciated the effort put into ensuring visitors could access the site comfortably. There were plenty of spots to take photos and admire the beauty of nature.
I particularly loved the surrounding forest and the variety of trees and plants. The air was so fresh and filled with the pleasant aroma of nature. It felt like a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
One thing to keep in mind is that it can get a bit crowded, especially during peak tourist seasons. However, even with the crowd, the falls' natural beauty shone through.
Overall, Abbe Falls is a must-visit if you're in Coorg. It's a great place to connect with nature and witness the sheer wonder of a waterfall. I left with a sense of tranquility and a memory of a truly beautiful place.

The view of the falls is amazing but swimming is not allowed in this falls. There are parking lots available for you to park your vehicles, and you have to walk around 100 steps to reach the falls which is little tiring but worth it to watch the falls. The place where you stay and watch the falls isn't spacious enough. Overall a good experience.
kreethan dsouza — Google review
It is a good place. Around 50-80 steps to go down to witness the falls. Amazing plantations surrounded. A one time visit.
Could have maintained it in a better way though & repaired the damaged bridge.
Good experience.
10/- for entry*
Vaishnavi — Google review
Good place to visit which is nearer to town. You need to get an entry ticket and walk for few minutes to reach the falls.
Best time to feel the falls will be during the monsoon where you have huge water running from the mountain.
Note: You won't be able to go near the water. You can view the falls and click pictures.
Vipin Thampan — Google review
Beautiful !! The place looks like largely destroyed by flood and landslides. But still safe to go. It's a spectacular view. Don't go near the waterfalls during rains as the source of water is from mountains above and at any time huge floods can fill the river in no time. There are many spots for clicking photos. Be careful entering the river as stones are so polished and slippery. Overall a must visit place

Visitors to this pastoral landmark can rent a Jeep to reach the top for panoramic valley views.
Excellent place, full of greenery. Adventures road, only 4 wheel drive vehicles can go. Private jeeps available. You can enjoy clouds if you can go early morning. Avoid in rainy season as there is a risk of landslides. There a waterfall near to this place, it's small but beautiful.

Amazing place. Sunrise here is a treat to the eyes and the soul. Initially we thought the jeep ride was only ceremonial, but getting here does require a good bit of off-road traversal. It was chilly and windy when we went, and the entire experience was amazing!

Definitely one of the highlights of my time in Coorg! Great experience off-roading in a jeep. Very scenic and (intentionally) bumpy ride in the clouds. Loved every bit of it!
The wind on top of the hill was overwhelmingly amazing. It was super cloudy, so we didn't get much of the view of the valley. Still well worth it.
Point to note-
There is an uphill walk from the parking lot to the view point. Not recommended for people with mobility issues.

Entry tickets cost about ₹50 per person..

Great view point on top of hill but getting in is quite a hectic Task. Jeeps are there to get there but that costs ₹1500. You can opt in at entrance since it's worth . The roads are not so good for last 3 kms where these comes to place. The range of hills are green and view will be fabulous after rainy season. Sunrise and sunset are opt time to visit, we don't have any eatables and only water is available at point before 3kms since it comes under conserved wild line of forests

Beautiful scenic view, best time to visit during sunset. Only Jeeps can travel till the top (4WD) they charge 2500 per Jeep for to and fro and allow approx 1 hour time to roam at top. Roads are not good. Must visit place in Coorg.
Few sitting arrangements are there, Washroom facilities are available.

The safari was one of its kind, extremely adventurous. Once you reach the top, it was extremely beautiful, breathtaking views. Though its written as 2500 for the ride, the drivers tend to charge more and so be cautious.

You'll have to park your car down and go in a jeep 4x4. They charge you 2200 for 1 jeep.
5 people can go in that.
After forest check post you'll have to give 150rs to the forest guard.
From the jeep to the top it'll take you 45 min of travel.
You can spend 40 min on top of the hill.
You cannot carry any plastic or or flammable substances in top of the hill.
It's a very good spot for sunrise or sunset

This is a must visit place when you are in coorg. We went for the sunrise and it was amazing.. the only issue is getting a jeep for the offroad as there are no other means of transportation. The road stretch is broken so either you walk or take a jeep.. you can also take yr bike. The wind at the top is chilling but you will love every moment there.

This is the best place to visit in MADIKERI.
One must visit before the sunrise.
Locals try to stop you in the way but if you have your vehicle you can drive upto base point.
From there you have to take off ride 4*4 only.
It also is an experience in itself.
They charge depending on the time and group size.
At the top there is a lot of wind and I mean a lot.
Do cover your ears properly otherwise they may be a pain in the experience.
It is usually very cold at top.
Sunrise there if you are lucky can be witnessed.
It is a great sight to watch
Must visit

We have been to Coorg umpteen times and not even heard of this place . But when our Van driver suggested we got curious to check whether it was true to be the best place to visit in Madikere !!.
MANDALPATTI is located ( on Abbey falls road ) and about 20 kms from Madikere. Once there at the entry point there is designated 4X4 jeeps to take us up. ( we thought they don't allow us in our own vehicle just to make money )
They charge Rs 2500 for the jeep drive . Plus Rs. 200 from the forest dept and no food or plastics allowed which I thought was a great innitative
The jeep drive was spectacular. We understood why other vehicles cannot go on the bone crunching ride. Once on top we got some spectacular views. The ride made our day !. The drivers were experts and the vehicles were custom built for extra suspension to soak the pressure and take this beating, ... which we heard.
There is a small trek of about 10 minutes to the top after the jeep reaches after a 40 minute ride. We were allows to be there and experience this beautiful views for 45 minutes.
There are rest room on top which was a relief. Coming down the drive we had Tea 🍵 in one of the small tea shacks...to soak in the experience.
We found a lot of liter of plastic bottles which we picked and deposited in the bin.
Please be more responsible ..people 🙏
Recommend this ride to everyone.and what we paid is worth every paise of it . Later heard and realized now this place is also gaining popularity for trekking !!

Nice hill top to see breathtaking view in Coorg. But the best part is the 4x4 jeep off-road ride from the entrance to the top. It costs you 1200 for one jeep and the jeep can carry 7 people.
VERY IMPORTANT: you have to be there by 6:00 AM at the entrance to see a beautiful sunrise or else you’ll miss this. The jeep driver will give you 40 minutes to enjoy the place and again he will drop you at the entrance.

The rooms are available for the pilgrims who want to halt but they can be booked offline only, the rooms are provided for the family of Max 12-15 members. They provide free service of luggage storing while entering the temple and also separate areas are preserved for footwear too. It was a very neat area and as usual men pilgrims are required to remove the shirt & banian while taking the Swami darshan. The Prasad package will be given for the pilgrims who pay for it not for all. Even the anna Prasad is also provided for the Prasad recipients only. All types of sevas can be done by making online payment. You can reach out to this temple via train as well "Subrahmanya road (SBHR)" is the train stop which is just 20mins away from the temple. The temple carries lot of significance and most prominent for Sarpa dosha parikara pooja.
The temple is located amidst hills, beautiful ambience and well maintained premises offer good positive experience to the devotees. Evening Bandi pooja is also very special in the temple where the Urchavar is taken around the temple couple of times in a pallak.
Prasadam is available at a cost of Rs.100, which includes a small bottle of thertam water.
There are several lodges, hotels and restaurants around the temple premises.
Less than a Km walkable distance from main bus stand.
There was traditional folk based dance/drama song recital of Ramayanam when we had visited. It was a great visual experience.
Hot during Summers and crowded during holidays/weekends.

Best temple to visit during all time. There's Kumaradhara River which is 2.3km away from the Subrahmanya swamy temple, a place where you can take bath and go to temple for dharshana. Mallalli Falls is a picturesque natural area that offers visitors the chance to witness multi-tiered waterfalls set amidst stunning lush scenery. While the falls are truly amazing, access to them requires descending over 700 steps, which can be a thrilling experience for some but may not be recommended for elderly individuals. Due to safety concerns and several fatalities in the past, the government has implemented strict restrictions around accessing and playing near the falls.
This is an amazing waterfalls. The journey to the falls will surely tire you, but it's definitely worth the visit. You will have to climb down around 800 steps to reach the falls. Sometimes the entry will be restricted during heavy water season. You can ask about it with shopkeepers at the parking area before you climb down. Best time to visit would be September to December.

The falls is one of the top falls in Karnataka. Must visit in monsoon. The water level is extremely good and treat to your eyes. There are steps on the way to the falls, and be careful on the leaches out there. In monsoon, umbrella and raincoat are must to visit the falls. Also try to bring another set of clothes as a extra precaution. There are no good food options available nearby. Kushalnagar is one of the options for food.
It is a must visit place in monsoon.

No entry fees to enter the fall. Paid Parking is available. There are eateries outside so no problem with food and water.
There are many steps which we need to take to reach to the bottom of waterfall. But you cannot go near waterfall or swim or play. You can view it from fence. It gets difficult and tiring for elders to climb up and back steps.
Better to go early morning or evening to avoid crowd and sun.

have to pay for the parking, we paid 60/- for the car, 20/- for bike i guess. visited on the off season, a cool place to visit if your nearby rather than all the other popular places. had fun time while descending and climbing those 1200 steps (up and down). wish there was some space to sit and enjoy the view of the falls, we used the stairs anyways, but would have been cool if there's some space dedicated for it.

Worth visiting, fantabulous waterfall with picturesque views. The walk is a bit tiring - while reaching the spot, you go 600 steps down, but while returning back, it might need significant efforts. Not advisable for those with low stamina, joint pain, elderly.

Pure nature but the trek while getting down the stairs and climbing it again more than 45 years of adults is not at all recommended.
We enjoyed the trek while getting down and enjoyed the awesome view of the water falls one of the most recommended places to visit but a little hard while climbing back the hill and the stairs are too high
Over all worth watching the view here are few glimpse of the waterfalls which are captured by myself.

Don't visit if you are going in winter and summer season. Because there is less water flow and you have to see waterfall from very far. You cannot step in water.
I think waterfall must look more beautiful in rainy season.

Beautiful Falls. You got to go down around 500+ Steps. But unfortunately its fenced and its hard to get a Good look at the Falls once you reach the End of Stairs. Would be Good if Govt make some arrangement to have a good view of the Falls.
The Shettihalli Rosary Church, a Gothic structure constructed by French missionaries during the 1860s, can be found in a picturesque waterside location. Road access is decent; however, some sections of the road are uneven and require parking one's vehicle on the side of the road and walking for roughly five minutes to reach the destination. The best time to visit is in the evening when you can enjoy stunning sunset views and refreshing breeze.
Since it is not a proper commercialized tourist spot, the road reaches around 300m away from the spot. From there, you can take your vehicle off-road or walk. There aren't much things to see inside or out, the church itself is a treat to the eyes.
Recommended timing: Mornings or evenings
There are no shops close by except maybe one or two sugarcane juice carts.

Road connectivity is good, roads are not too good there are some patched,
once you reach there You have to park your vehicle on the road and have to walk for 5 minutes to reach the destination
Try to visit during the evening, you can see the colorful sky and feel the cool wind.
There is not much to see but a good place to take some photos.
Usually fishermen come there to ask for a coracle ride for 100 or 150 rps, i prefer to avoid that, because they are not permitted to take you on the coracle as well there is no life jackets, they come there to make some small money but be cautious about what you choose, I'm writing this because I have took that ride for 150 rsp but didn't felt safe

Really a good place to go with your family or friends, consider going after 3 in noon or for the sunset.
It's just old place in the river side or banks.
You can also go boating here which costs 100-150 per person.
The place is always open to visit. During rainy season the church submerges under water to the tip so better visit it in summer or around. You don't have to worry about parking either.

It was a good atmosphere during weekdays, there will be no disturbance or much crowd. I visited during the first week of March. I suggest you guys to visit starting week of Rainy seasons and winter to feel the beauty of place and nature and much more.....
One more thing that do not miss the Sunset in the evening time....

This century old abandoned church is a magnificent structure located on the banks of Hemavathi river. It is a famous tourist spot and the church submerges during the monsoon and water level recedes during the summer. Parking is not available, but can park the vehicle on the road side and walk towards the church in the mud road for about 500 meters.

Splendid place to spend the evening. Don't expect a beautiful sunset, since an nearby bridge obstructs the view. I don't recommend getting into water since it seems dangerous. Best place to visit is in weekdays. In the weekends lot of crowd gathering will be there

It's a Gothic church in ruins frequented by mostly photographer community. The construction of the dam and reservoir makes it unique with the surrounding areas (and also the church in rains) under water. You can take a detour from Hassan and visit it on the way to other parts of Karnataka. Will not recommend it as main attraction . Looks better in pictures than actual (Alas it's a prey to those lovebirds with an innate zeal of proclamation and no sense of heritage or architecture). Good for testing your framing skills though.

Nice place to visit once. Good to visit during the afternoon and early evening time. Might get spooky during the late hours. No houses or colonies near the location. Seems to be a place to wonder about its origin, civilization and the history around it.
There are few vendors, who sell water, juice and snacks in portable vehicles. Saw a party having their pre Wedding shoot.
Can go there by car and bike. No tickets necessary. Maybe they should recognise it as a tourist spot and maintain it.
It's just a beautiful wreck which is not monitored by authorities and is abandoned to go unnoticed by the majority.

I never knew a ruins can be so beautiful and still standing strong in water.
Best spot for photo shoots nice scenery.
Best time to visit is summer. This is submerged in water during rainy season.
Ample car parking space. Small shop is also available for water and cold drinks but I recommend take your snacks and drinks along with you.
Well connected to road vehicles go right next to this place. No tickets required.
Can see lot of plastic bottles and covers thrown out. Please avoid dumping waste here when you visit.

Beautiful photogenic place situated at the backwater of Hemavathi reservoir. The road leading to the place is not in good shape. So drive carefully. When the Hemavathi reservoir is full, the church gets submerged in water and will not be accessible. The best time to visit would be when the water just starts receding, it provides a wonderful backdrop to the church.

Shettihalli Church is located 200km from Bengaluru in Hassan Karnataka. Built in the 1860s by the French missionaries in India, the church is a magnificent structure of Gothic Architecture. After the construction of the Hemavati Dam and Reservoir in 1960 the church was Submerged under water due to the dam, It has since then become a famous tourist spot where people flock to see the half submerged church during monsoon. It is also known as The Submerged Church and The Floating Church.. These ruins are best visited once during the dry season and again during the monsoons. Its a great site for a photo-op.. ⛪✨

If you are planning an sakleshpura trip, this is a must visit place. If you are visiting this place during the rainy season then you can see this church submerged but if you visit this place during summer you can go inside the church and enjoy the place but the worst part is no maintenance here people come and throw all possible things. And there is one more hidden temple in this place and is not visible to the naked eye, if you are carrying a binocular then if you view the point towards the dam you can sear the top part of the temple tower and again it can be seen only during summer.

No one says you are in Karnataka. Just beautiful Gothic charm Despite the decay, the church exudes a sense of history and mystery that is truly mesmerizing. It's a place where time seems to stand still, inviting contemplation and reflection amidst its fading grandeur.

Ruins of an old church. Large parts of the structure have collapsed due to constant flooding and no maintenance and many of the walls are defaced by visitors. However it's still nice to visit. You can ride all the way up to the church on cars or bikes. There's ample parking. When the water levels are down, you can even ride into the church ruins. There is also a nice view from the bridge across the reservoir. The approach roads from Hassan highway are scenic, but pass through villages, so you need to ride carefully. No stalls available near the spot, so need to bring sufficient water along
Zion Sandeep — Google review
It's a nice place to visit if you are nearby or visiting areas around. It is a remote location so don't expect any shops or other amenities in the near vicinity. You can easily spend 2-3 hrs looking around and appreciating the beauty of ruins/remains of this ancient structure. And can spend some time near the lake shore. It has some excellent silhouettes and will definitely be intriguing for the photographers as it provides a perfect backdrop for photoshoots. Also roads leading to this place are well maintained so shouldn't be a problem reaching there. Try to visit in the early morning or evening as sunsets and sunrises are definitely something you would love to watch.
Would have given 5 stars if it could be a little cleaner or maintained.

Over all journey was excellent, once we enter from main road to this church village road, we don't get any shops for snacks or other. Recommending to buy water and snacks in advance. Go to this place, enjoy bird sound and never throw any waste in the spot.

Shettihalli Rosary Church – Shot on Samsung
This is one of those very rare French Gothic architecture that we can get to see in Karnataka, A fascinating ruin, a romantic shoot location for a few while for some localites of Hassan do believe it to be still haunted! Haha.. Built by French Missionaries in 1860s was unfortunately submerged with the construction of Hemavati Dam & Reservoir.
Bangalore – Hassan road is a feast to ride on, it’s about 25kms from Hassan & once you deviate from NH 75 you shall enter narrow country roads which are pretty well maintained & it’s a short ride of 20mins or lesser before you reach the backwaters to this so called haunted yet enigmatic ruins.
Have fun & ride safe comrades..

This church deserves to be one of the top tourist spots in Karnataka. The church though in ruins look very majestic. Just like the historic ruins seen abroad. It's an excellent picnic spot as well! The location is very calm and serene. Would recommend to carry drinks/eatables as there are none nearby. Hope this will be preserved by the government.

If you are nearby Hassan or in that way then you might take this decision to visit this place.
Just a relaxing place and nothing much there.
No traces of complete history of the church, infrastructure completely shattered.
One can visit this places two time a year- monsoon and post monsoon.
During monsoon the church will be submerged in water to some extent and post that one can roam around the church.
This church is near a water body and next time to visit is during sunrise or sunset and the view is amazing.
No stalls available, no washroom or anything there.
Good place for photo shoot.

Really nice place and great church ruins. it could be made up really good tourist place! the church is more than 100years old. such structure should be protected and atleast boundary marked so as to not find beer bottles and plastic all around it. A little care from locals, tourist and tourism department can protect the structure and nature around it. Very peaceful location.

Manjarabad Fort Sakleshpur
Fortress
Sights & Landmarks
Remains of a unique star-shaped fort built on a mountain in 1792 by Tipu Sultan.
Awesome tourist destination. If you have drone camera it will be a best site for photography. Photos on star edges will give you unique experience. You can visit this place any season but prefer visiting between August to February. Because the nature is at its peak. Their will be a drizzling and cool weather would make you feel energetic. You need to walk of stepup to reach the destination.

The top view of the fort shows it as a star shaped fort just a few kilometers from Sakleshpura. You need to park your car on road side and walk some 200 meters till you find the steps to climb.
There are more than 250 steps to climb before you reach the entry gate. Entry is in fact free. There are 2 dungeons inside the fort which are very small. The view of western ghats from the fort is awesome.
Overall, it will be nice visit to the fort specially in the winter season.

Okay to visit but not much is there other than broken walls. In actual its not looks like that what we search in Google and saw in pics. Not at all recommended for old age people as it required very long stairs to climb up.
If weather is good then you can enjoy views from top but try to avoid in summer.

A star shaped fort located at the cliff. I need to climb a few steps to reach the top, which could be tiring during summer weather. It is very nice to see the star based architecture and the centre well. View towers at the eight wing end. Better to visit during mild weather to avoid the tiredness.

Nice place- but access to it bit tough- lots of stairs to reach, but the area is under construction (hoping to have better access soon).
But good structural historical place of must visit.
But make sure u reach before closing time as it closes exactly at 5pm.
It does have food options at the starting point and have side path for parking.

It's a ok place not that great. You have to take around 200 steps to reach there and if it's hot then it would be unbearable on the top. Better to go there after rainy season or evening time. No parking area we need to park on the road side. No entry fee, timing 8 to 5

Nice fort with a good view of the surrounding sights. Being used mostly for keeping an eye on the aggressors entering the kingdom, it is not a very large fort but has a lot of watch towers for a view in different directions.
PS: It has quite a few flight of stairs which might make it a little difficult to access for the aged or people with arthritis etc.

The fort, as built and existing, is an eight-pointed star. Pathway which is leading to entrance steps is under construction when we visited
There are nearly 150-200 steps to climb, it has amazing views from top, it’s crowded on the weekends. View from the top is beautiful, lush green mountains all around.

One of the famous tourist place to visit once if you are planning to Sakleshpur side. It is Nice fort with good landscape view but unfortunately not properly maintained and lot of littering around the place. One needs to initially walk for 500 meters and then climb steps of around 250-300 steps to reach the fort. There is limited parking space on the road and few stalls/shops for quick snacks or juices. Overall Ok to visit once if you haven't seen it yet.

Awesome place where we can see the best architecture of a mankind with a limited source. Shape of the fort is perfect star shapes without any errors, we need to be fit to reach the fort because we need to climb more than 400 steps and 1km in height. If you visit, be aware that there are approximately 250 steps to climb. No detour is required because it is right on the major highway. The fort is truly beautiful, evoking a bygone period.
It is disappointing to see that the government is not investing in turning this into a tourist destination by adding information via boards or audio/visuals. They could make some money off of this, but at least they would be educating visitors about the area's illustrious past.

Fort is good. Be ready to climb some 300 odd stairs to reach the fort. Climbing is very steep. No entrance charges. It closes sharp at 5pm and security will force you out by 5:30. Views from the fort is good but not maintained properly by the authorities At least the grass and wild weeds should be cut. Apart from that the fort is very beautiful and yes it definitely holds some past with it.

The journey to the fort was an adventure, with winding roads revealing the breathtaking natural beauty around every turn. Its distinctive star-shaped architecture added a sense of grandeur to its historical importance. However, I couldn't locate any restroom facilities, and parking was a bit challenging as we had to park on the roadside along the busy Sakleshpura highway.

This is a lord shiva temple surrounded by a ghat roads and beautiful nature and hills. Its a powerful temple where everyone including me believe whatever wishes we pray comes true here…
There is no entry tickets for dharshanam and it’s free with little wait time in queue in week days and in week ends it’s takes up to 30mins of wait time…and if you wish for special dharshanam you can buy tickets.
Before dharshanam in temple we have to go to NETRAVATHI RIVER and dip there after that only we have to enter the temple.
Male (boys) should remove their shirt during dharshanam and after dharshanam you will be provided annadanam (prasadam) to eat which is awesome. They provide food for thousands and lakes of people everyday for free.
We also can stay in free rooms provided by the temple where we have to provide our aadhar cards to them and pay 30/- rupees for one room (there is no charging slots in rooms and toilets) but in front of the rooms only free toilets are provided).
Roads are good to travel. Travelling in ghat roads gives us never ending memories and joy with beautiful scenery and hills with 360• covered by greenery but a little danger too to travel . And other road has no ghat sections but only with greenery nature and beautiful views.

The Dharmasthala temple dates back 800 years
It's a holy place of Manjunatheshwara (aka Dharmasthala manjunatha) temple environment is nice along with best temperature, if you are visiting pls plan in weekdays to avoid much of crowd or rush and if ur visiting in weekends or public Holiday's pls plan accordingly as there will too much of unavoidable que and which will consume hours of time for final darshana (vision) ending up lot of day time wastage, there was decently moderate que when we visited (29/12/2023) and took nearly 3hrs.
Negative -1 ⭐ is because the annadanam pls where they just throw the items and go just to do the job, which makes the places dirty and sticky to feet while walking on bare foot 👣, instead waiting for second and serving would avoid lot of food wastage on spillage on ground (no complaints on taste or quality of food).

The temple has a very extensive queue system, which is efficiently managed by the temple authorities. We waited for nearly an hour and a half in line, but the darshan of Mahadev was truly serene. There are places like museum of ancient materials, museum of cars, aquarium, bahubali statue in the bahubali hills,

Historical great temple. It has very much detailing in the temple. Which is carved in the stone. Guides say that some monuments are that much detailed such that the bangles in the woman statue can be rotated..... The temple is a representation of our great culture. Do visit the temple ... If possible take one guide also.... Cause the temple has so much details which we can't know by our own. There's no any entry fees ... We have to pay for just chappal stand.

Beautifully built temple which is more than 1000s years old. History has a lot to say to those who want to hear.
Don’t try exploring this temple with out the hiring a trained local guide. They are government guide who will take Rs. 500 and will help you understand each and every aspect of the temple.
It is not a tourist spot or a dating place, have seen many couples hidden here and there, kindly respect the heritage place and a temple.
“Every stone tells a story” so take out your time and enjoy this masterpiece.

An epic masterpiece of our past. No architectural wonder can rival the beauty of what lies within these walls.
Went in the evening so it was cool. I am assuming in the afternoon it will be very hot so it is recommended to walk with a pair of socks in the open courtyard.
Ample drinking water facilities. Parking is at the backside of the temple and ₹50/- is charged for the same.

Kurinjaala Betta, located in the Kudremukh Range, is a lush mountain covered in dense rainforest. The peak stands at 1160m and offers strenuous hiking trails for visitors. Bhagavati Nature Camp provides easy access to this peak, with a 7km trek to the summit that requires a guide as per forest department norms. However, leeches are abundant along the path due to the forest canopy and thick/moist foliage.
This is one of the peaks you get easy access to when staying at Bhagavati Nature Camp. It is an easy trek except for the leeches that are abundant along this path due to the forest canopy and thick/moist foliage. Walk of about 7km takes you to the summit but a guide is must as per the forest department norms (₹275 per head for forest fee and ₹1000 is the guide charge as of Apr'22).
Pro Tip: salt your socks and shoes, you'll have no leaches climbing you 😉
Kiran Blr — Google review
It's a easy trek. Good for beginners. Total 7+7 kms trek. Last stretch might be difficult for beginners since it involves hike on rocky hill.
Get the permission from forest department at the checkpost before entering. You won't get any streams here so carry enough water.
There are lots of leeches here, leech attack starts at the beginning of the trek only so take proper precautions.
I went in the month of June. Because of fog couldn't get good view at the viewpoint. It's good to visit during oct-dec if you want to enjoy good view. But mansoon treks have different experience, those clouds and rain.

Great place for a 1 day trek and it's very moderate for all types of people to enjoy. One drinking water point available while going and nothing after that. If we get a good weather it's a fantastic view from the top. The peak itself is very sharp and might look bit scary from distant, but not a big problem to reach there.

Nice trekking experience in Kudremukh national park, It starts from the Road point near bhagavathi Nature camp and walk to 5km in thick evergreen forest. It comprises both Evergreen, Grassland vegetation and monodominant trees. Initially for 1 km normal walking road then 2km evergreen patch you can catch with Fogg conditions sometime after that you can see the open canopy and grassland vegetation. Snake like roads are there to reach peak otherwise some shortcuts are there and in between Rocky view point is there. Finally you can enjoy the view point at the top.
LOHITH P C — Google review
It's a 40kms stretch of road with amazing views, roads are good for first 25 kms after that it's broken with lot of potholes, you get 1 hr to reach the other checkpoint, best time to visit would be September to November.

Guide and permission is mandatory.
Permission fee cost INR of 475 as of now and guide fee 1000 for 8- 10 members and also parking fee should be paid.
Trek distance is approximately 15 km in total, also Monsoon there will be a large number of leeches so pls accordingly and in post moonsoon and summer there won't be water source in trail so plan accordingly only at the base water steam is there and also there is no network in this locality.

Great trekking place.
You’ll need a guide to trek this place.
Book the tickets in the check-post through which you enter the Kudremukh rainforest.
Lots of leeches along the trail.

Kurinjal peak is one of the lesser-known peaks in the western ghats. It is hidden deep in the Kudremukh National Park.
One of the second best trek experience after Kudremukh in Kurinjaala Betta about 7+7 = 14 Km Trek.
Evergreen deep forest route, grasslands, breathtaking surroundings and enchanting environment, many small streams and lush green meadows and the steep climb to reach the peak will be the best experience. The final stretch of the trek is very steep. You have to climb a huge rock, which has 80 degrees of inclination.
We will get Bhadra River Bridge, the initial trail from this bridge is a completely muddy trail. During the monsoon season, it can be very slippery and Full of Monsters 😁 ( The Great Leeches ).
There is large amount of leeches in this trek compared to Kudremukha.
After completing Muddy Trails and Roads and when we are exiting from the forest section, we will see beautiful valleys and Hills. Then we have to conquer Steep Path and the great Views from Kurinjaal Peak.
We visited during Monsoon Season, One of the best experience but you have to take care of those leeches.
Apply Dettol, Salts etc etc etc... Trekking in this section is challenging as you encounter leeches at every each steps.

No words can describe the beauty, magnificence and sheer craftsmanship of this temple. Whatever you say falls short to the beauty that you witness here.
You should definitely visit this place if you haven’t already. Just look at the work here and you will be left baffled. What they did 1100 years ago, we cannot achieve it today even with the all the machinery that is present today.
The boldness, the imagination, the intricacy, the efforts that the sculptors of that era have showcased here is inexplicable.
Very easy to locate, it has a huge parking space available. Opens at sunrise around 6:30am and closes at 6:30 in the evening. There is no entry ticket. You can just enter the temple and enjoy the art.
There are guides available for 500₹. They will tell you of some of the important artworks there and legends behind those.

The Hoysaleswara Temple in Halebidu, Karnataka, India, is a mesmerizing masterpiece of ancient Indian architecture. Constructed during the 12th century under the Hoysala Empire, this temple is a testament to the architectural brilliance of that era.
The Hoysaleswara Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu and stands as an outstanding example of Hoysala architecture, characterized by its intricate stone carvings. The temple complex comprises two shrines, one for each deity, and is surrounded by a large courtyard.
The exterior of the temple is adorned with an astounding array of finely detailed sculptures. These intricate carvings depict scenes from Hindu mythology, stories from the Ramayana and Mahabharata, divine beings, animals, and intricate floral motifs. The level of detail is breathtaking, showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship and artistry of the Hoysala artisans.
One of the remarkable features of this temple is the lathe-turned, star-shaped pillars. These pillars are known for their precision and elegance, with each one boasting unique carvings that are remarkably well-preserved despite the passage of centuries.
The temple's architecture follows a trikuta (triple shrine) plan with intricately carved shikharas (spires) on top of each shrine. The intricate design and careful symmetry of the temple are awe-inspiring.
Intricacy and artistry are not limited to the exterior; the interior of the temple is equally impressive. The hall leading to the sanctum sanctorum is adorned with ornate pillars and finely carved ceilings, creating an otherworldly ambiance.
The Hoysaleswara Temple stands as a living museum of ancient Indian architecture and art. Its detailed carvings, symmetrical design, and overall grandeur make it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts, art aficionados, and spiritual seekers. A visit to this temple is a journey back in time and a remarkable experience that leaves visitors in awe of the architectural genius of the Hoysala dynasty.

As a UNESCO World Heritage Site the the temple is well deserving. It was amazing to witness the creation and its sculptures so closely. Divine place... we reached at 1 pm in hot weather. Near entrance we washed our hand and legs before entering the temple, The water was so cold that it was really pleasant fee. We had darshan of Amma Annapoorneshwari... The Idol of Devi is so heartwarming, we just can't take our eyes off.. Then we had Mahaprasad. The food was very delicious. Anna, sambar, puliogare, sweet payasa,majjige... Hotte tampaytu..
Very thankful to the temple authorities for maintaining such a facility...
One more bad experience near temple, one shop near parking area, siddipoornamba variety centre, The snacks are of very low quality, the bad smell was coming, we bought it for small kids, which is very dangerous for their health. When we asked the shopkeeper to smell or taste the same, he denied. See how they know the reality and still selling such dangerous products to bhakts of Amma..
Don't buy the food items here... I am posting photo of the shop also

The Sri Veeranarayana Swamy Temple (Trikutaachala) is a notable 12th century Hindu temple built by the Hoysalas in Dorasamudra. The temple houses three shrines dedicated to Veeranarayana, Narasimha, and Krishna which are worshipped daily. The architecture of the temple is exquisite with intricate carvings and magnificent Gopuras. Additionally, the temple boasts ornate stone pillars and elephant statues.
One of the finest sculpted monuments which is unknown to most of the people! If you are visiting Halebidu, you cannot be missing this place.
It's an amazing place which has its own restrictions and once you visit here you don't feel like coming out
GANGADHAR DANDIN — Google review
This is one of the most underrated temples which is equally or even more magnificent compared to that of Belur and Halebeedu temples. The intrinsic carvings are mesmerizing. The deity sculptures are actually behind the screen and are shown only when requested. The main deity sculpture of Vishnu is placed at the end of the temple and it's very pleasing to watch. Narasimha and Krishna sculptures are on the left and right while you enter but believed to have darshan after you pay a visit to Vishnu.

Very good place to visit. Not so crowded. The work on the temple is astonishing. The site is under ASI. Very well maintained and clean. The priest is very helpful and provides information regarding the temple. He also works as a guide. Recommended to visit atleast once if you are a fan of archeology.

Astounding, magnificent, breathtaking… I cannot get the right words to describe the architectural beauty of this temple. The intricately detailed sculptures and carvings are awe inspiring. The expertise of the twelfth century architects and artisans who built the temple over one or two generations is to be appreciated for their geometric precision, symmetry and artistic beauty.

Very beautiful temple situated in a peaceful village. The carvings and sculptures in the temple are amazing. Some parts of the temple have got damaged, not sure if it's done by people or happened naturally over time.. But it was very very calm and cool inside the temple and we felt good. It is really disheartening to see that some irresponsible and shameless people have scratched and written their names on the temple pillars in the main mandapa. Will visit the temple again.
Kiran Nambiar — Google review
The temple is famous for its unique star-shaped platform, the intricate stone carvings on the outer walls depicting various mythological stories, and the finely carved sculptures of deities inside the temple. Visitors can also admire the detailed carvings on the ceiling and pillars of the temple. The temple is easily accessible from major cities in Karnataka and is a great destination for history and architecture enthusiasts.

It is also a part of hoyasila architecture and this temple has 3 gods Krishna, Narasimha Swamy and veeranarayana swamy but the idols were stunning. But they won't allow you take pictures inside the temple. And priest is not so interested to do the Pooja when devotees arrive in the temple. Then we asked him to open the curtains for every god. Else it is wonderful.

Belavadi veeranarayana temple is one of the significant temples constructed by the Hoysalas in the region of Dorasamudra.
There are 3 deities inside the temple. Veeranarayana, narasimha and krishna are being worshipped everyday.
Archaka told me that ASI had adjudged the idol of Krishna is the most beautiful idol of Krishna in the whole country.
As usual, the hoysala architecture is excellent with intricate carvings and majestic Gopuras.

It's a place where we can see how the intruders tried to destroy these beautiful places, some of the artistic architecture has broken down at some places which are kept aside, other than that, lord gopala swamy stands still and gives a beautiful darshan of himself residing in his garbha gudi

The peaceful ambiance and well maintained temple complex make it a perfect place for spiritual reflection.

Veeranarayana Temple is a nationally protected monument which is managed by the Archaeological Survey of India. This beautiful temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and was constructed in Hoysala architecture around 1200 CE. It's a must-visit temple if you're planning on visiting Belur and Halebeedu. As you enter the temple, you will feel the peacefulness and calmness. You will easily spend couple of hours inside the temple, enjoying its architectural beauty.

Amazing temple. Just awesome. Words are not enough to explain about beauty of this temple. Built by Hoysalas in their typical architecture. Very near to famous Hoysaleshwara temple of Halebeedu. Just like other famous temples of Hoysala this one also has highly decorated scluptures on outer walls of temple.
Venkatesh Kini — Google review
Well maintained, neat and clean surroundings Hindu idols inside the shrine was so clearly visible against light..well explained by priest who was obliging and humble. Architecture and sculpture of this temple still intact and no evidence of attack from enemies. We enjoyed the visit and feel blessed by God veera narayana, yoga narasimha and venugopala, which was adjudged as best Architecture by ASI.
Prabhakar Aradalli — Google review
An architectural marvel and a testimony to unparalleled craftsmanship of artisans under royal patronage of Hoysala dynasty.
The temple is little older than the ones in Belur and Halebeedu.
The main deity here is Veeranarayana Swamy and is counted among Panacha Naranyana kshetras (5 temples of lord Narayana) built by Hoysalas kings.
On March 23rd every year sun rays fall directly on fingers of Veeranarayana Swamy after passing through 7 doors. The knowledge of astronomy and geometry of Hoysala times was pretty advanced than we usually think. One can also see the main idol form the entrance door from outside.
The temple houses three shrines and we were told that Venugopal swamy here is awarded the best idol of Krishna in India. All the idols here are made from Saligrama stone.
Another fascinating thing here is shiny pillars. One can almost see their own reflection on these pillars.

Bucolic natural area featuring cascading waterfalls & pools in dense forest surrounds.
It's a nice small and beautiful waterfall and is less than 15 kms from Shringeri town. It is easily accessible and it's good to sit and spend some time nearby the falls. Do not expect a big waterfall as this one is certainly not. The water is cold enough to give a refreshing experience once you wet your legs!!

Location of the water falls is good.. But people who visit this place, literally spoil it. I wonder how can people carry shampoo and take bath in such a beautiful tourist attraction? Forest guards are present only to sell tickets but none of the person present near the water falls to stop people from littering or using shampoo. This is a natural tourist spot and the same water goes to all other places and people also drink the same water. Travel responsibly and keep the places clean.

Scenic Waterfall
As the title reads, waterfall is beautiful to watch.
Costs 50 for adult and 20 for children.
Bad that we humans visit such places as a relief from our day to day life. Yet we throw garbage spoiling even these beautiful places. Even the forest officers don't seemed to enquire if we are carrying any plastic.
I request those who plan to go here and might have come across my post. Let's step away from the herd and be a responsible human by not littering in such places.
Thanks

Visitors are advised to be cautious about not leaving any waste behind as they enjoy the scenic beauty of this iconic location at sunrise or sunset.
Karnatakas highest mountain peak. It's a beautiful view from the top. To reach this spot, you can either travel from Kemmangundi side or Chickmagalur town and take the route towards Bababudangiri. Google for some reason points to BBgiri and shows some 18km to reach from the mainroad junction where as the fact is it's just about 7km and takes about 30 mins to reach here by car. The road towards the end is scary though, and no barricades in a few spots!! After parking you need to take a uphill walk. This is quiet steep but I've seen even old people do this. It would take no longer than 15 to 20 min to climb to the peak. At the peak, there is a Shiva temple where you can meditate.
The view is beautiful and the sunset looks amazing from here. But recommend don't stay here till dark, else driving becomes scary.
Another big problem during weekends is the parking can become difficult and sometimes crazy drivers could create a deadlock in the narrow road. So be wise while driving.

A place that can give you goosebumps, especially when you are on the driver's seat. The ghat roads when you almost reach the cliff is just breathtaking. It's so beautiful and thrilling at the same time. It's definitely a must visit place when you are in Chikmagalur, as you will witness such an amazing view from the top of the peak.
The roads on the top are very narrow, hardly two cars can fit on the entire path, at some points only one. Also, there is not much protection on the edge of the cliff, so be very very careful while driving and parking the vehicle, don't be in a hurry. Also, there's a temple on the way up from where only smaller vehicles are allowed. So any vehicle bigger than a jeep, like a tempo traveller or mini bus would have to stop at that point. But you will find jeeps available to hire, just to take you to the top area of the peak, from where you can trek a bit if you wish.
The best part was descending the hill, because we were able to witness one of the best sunsets. It felt as if we were so close to heaven. It's really hard to express such a sight in words or even through the lens of a camera, but if you can try, then try being there during the sunset.

Good spot with a small trail to the top, beautiful view with good weather during the early winter months.
Traffic jams will be a common occurance on your way here as there is only a narrow dirt path to the top.
littering is not that bad now, but will get worse, hope that the needed measures will be taken to prevent this place from getting ruined.

Amazing & Mesmerizing place to visit.
* Yellow Taxi Cars are not allowed at the top hence either take Yellow plate Jeep OR Auto OR self driven cars.
* Approx 500 steps of trekking to be done to reach the peak.
* Carry one bottle of water to keep yourself hydrated. Do not carry baggage with you as you will get exhausted climbing stairs.
* If it is cloudy it will reduce the visibility to less than 20 mtrs, if it is sunny it might be hot but you will surely enjoy the view 360 degrees.
* You will get charcoal cooked Corn, sweetcorn, Maggie, Tea and chips to eat at the foot of the hills. Do not expect more than these items to be served at this height.
* You will cross many hair bend pins, small waterfalls, lot of monkeys.
* You can spend unto 2-3 hrs. in this place with family.

Mullayanagiri Peak is the highest peak in Karnataka and its approx 6400 feet above sea level. It's 30km approx from the main city(IG Park). You should go to this place in the early morning. The perfect time to visit this is in the month of September to February. This place is a spectacular attraction in Chikmagalur also known for its jaw-dropping natural beauty.
According to the regional mythology, Tapasvi Mullappa Swamy observed meditation for years at the cave on top of the Mullayanagiri peak. This is the reason why the peak got its present identity. The old Kannada literature, however, relates the term ‘Mullai’ to the forests. The caves at the top of the Mullayanagiri hills are not so deep and have an entrance that directly leads you to the temple’s garbhagudi.
To go up It has total of 450 to 500 steps which will take 20mins to 30mins approx. And while going above you will feel the weather. There is nothing to worry about before going above. You will get the Maggi shops while going up and with that, you might get a few fried rice and murmuri and many more things.

Quite a steep Trek to reach the peak but worth it to witness this beauty! Such a supportive climate during the visit.

You had to take jeeps to reach there. It was frequently available. Good place for trekking and superb climate. We were sweating a bit because it was an afternoon. Morning time visit would be really a good option. At the top temple is there and you can darshan the god. It wasn't hard to climb. Most of them can climb the hill. Down you can have eatery items. Overall it was a good experience. Nice place to visit with families and friends and just forget all your sorrows and dissolve in the beauty of nature! 😍 Have a great time.

I just loved this place.
Steps go directly to the peak.
I just enjoyed a long walk to the peak to capture the beautiful view.
Peace that your eyes can capture for you, that you cannot store in a hard disk. The view is that beautiful.
The road is a little narrow so you have to be careful with the vehicle you travel in. You could remain blocked in traffic. Weekdays would be my preference to enjoy this beautiful view without any traffic and crowds.

Breathtaking views. We visited during the month of November. The trek is medium to difficult. If you're a frequent trekking person, this place is a must visit. Try to start by 7am, so that you can wrap up by 5pm. To reach the base camp you'll have to get local jeeps.

Loved it!! You must go in monsoon season.
The atmosphere was transforming from one to another nature like wind ,mist, slight rain and sun. You can see the entire hills on the opposite side for some time and after that nothing can be seen because of the Fogg. You can go without the jeep as well if you are interested in trekking, there is a separate path for trekking .
On the way you can get Maggie corn etc to eat hot.

Roads are good but traffic management is poor & parking place at top isn't sufficient so get crowded easily.
Government should think to make these places more attractive by adding features like cable car, kids theme park etc.

It is a must visit place when visiting Chikmagalur, you can drive all the way up till the peak and then walk around hundred steps to the top. I would suggest to visit early in morning or a little after lunch to avoid crowds because parking and turning the car around on the steep slope can be very tricky with lots of taxi drivers just pushing around

What a beautiful place this is. I had a wonderful time here during my recent solo motorcycle ride to Karnataka. I stayed in Chikmanglur for 2 nights and visited this natural beauty on day 1.
The bike ride was beautiful across coffee plantations, beautiful mountains and winding roads.
I stayed there for couple of hours and enjoyed the peace and tranquility.
I would love to go back!

Mullayanagiri, the crown jewel of Karnataka, offers an experience that's both exhilarating and serene. The climb to the peak is an adventure in itself. The ghats twist and turn, offering glimpses of the lush green valleys below. Be prepared for narrow roads, but the views are absolutely worth it. The weather at the top is a delightful change from the plains. Even on a warm day, there's a crispness in the air that's incredibly refreshing. The highest point is a short walk from the parking area. The trail is well-maintained and offers stunning views along the way. The view from the top is nothing short of breathtaking. Also plan your visits early to avoid traffic jam

The peak was awesome, there is a check post before 20-25 kms where you have to pay ₹20 for a vehicle and nothing else. Then you will have to pass through winding roads with a gentle gradient , scenery was good, you can reach the top of the peak by walk or by some mode of vehicle. There were local ice creams sold at the top of the peak.

Baba Budan giri is a well-known mountain peak featuring a cave shrine dedicated to Baba Budan, a revered Sufi saint from the 1500s who is worshipped by both Hindus and Muslims. It offers an ideal destination for those who love trekking and exploring caves. The trek to this peak covers a distance of around 9-10 kilometers, which can be completed in approximately 5-6 hours in two phases.
Bababudangiri is an amazing trek in the mountains of Chikmagalur, located at a distance of 250 km from Bangalore. It's a very good trek point on the weekends. From here you can see the peaks of Budangiri and Mullayanagiri looming at a distance. Together, the two mountains appear like a crescent moon, therefore known as the Chandra Drona Range.
The Budangiri mountain is also an important pilgrimage for Hindus and Muslims for the legacy of the Sufi saint Baba Budan and the Hindu deity Dattatreya.
Some of the highlights of this trek are- walking on the Blade Ridge on the way to Mullayanagiri, camping and campfire in the forest clearings, ancient cave explorations, and stunning hellscape photography from several viewpoints along the way. The Blooming of the kurinji flowers on the low-lying slopes of the Nilgiris is a rare seasonal attraction in these parts of the hills.
The flowers blossom at an interval of every 12 years, cloaking the entire vicinity in shades of blue, giving the Nilgiri hills its name!

Beautiful hilltop. This place looks the best during mid monsoon when the lush green flora returns. You'll be amidst clouds so it's always foggy and there's plenty of precipitation. You've got to take a small 500m trek from the parking lot to get to this beautiful peak. There's plenty of places to take the most beautiful pictures and have the best views that your eyes will never forget!

If caves and trekking are what you desire, Bababudangiri is the perfect place for you to visit.
The trek to Baba Budangiri is a moderate level trek that spans a distance of 9 to 10 kilometers and can be completed in approximately 5 – 6 hours and can be completed in 2 phases. The best time for the trek is anytime between September to March as the weather remains mostly pleasant during the day.
Do not park your vehicle on the road or side of the road as the road is narrow and doing so will cause a traffic jam.
Restrooms are available near the entry point, not well-mailnained advisable to avoid it.

The drive to Baba Budangiri Hills is an experience in itself. Winding roads snake their way through lush greenery, offering glimpses of the Western Ghats shrouded in mist. As you climb higher, the fog thickens, creating an air of mystery and anticipation. To truly appreciate the beauty of the hills, start your journey early in the morning. Hebbe Waterfalls is a picturesque tourist attraction on a coffee estate featuring cascading waterfalls standing at 551 feet tall. Visitors can access the falls by hiking or hiring an SUV for about INR 3-4k accommodating up to seven people. The SUV ride is quite thrilling and lasts for about half an hour. Once at the parking lot, visitors must walk to reach Hebbe Falls which takes around 20-30 minutes.
Wow, what a wonderful place, Natural, serine small streams of river following through.
To reach u can drive your vehicle till the parking lot, then need to hire SUV's costing between 3k to 4k for a family for 6 to 7 members, SUV ride is nothing short of adventure park roller coaster and gets completed in about half hour, then you need to walk to reach Hebbe Falls and this most beautiful part of it with scenic views all around, track reaching the Falls is very safe for all buy is good 20 to 30 minute walk, view from Falls is breath taking and swimmers can enjoy good swim.

Standing at Hebbe Falls, I'm engulfed by its mesmerizing grandeur. The cascade plunges from a considerable height, creating a dramatic spectacle as it crashes onto the rocks below. A fine mist rises, creating a refreshing, almost mystical atmosphere. The surrounding forest, with its towering trees and dense vegetation, adds to the enchantment. The roar of the waterfall competes with the chirping of birds and rustling leaves, creating a harmonious symphony of nature. The pool at the base is inviting, tempting me to take a dip in its cool waters. Hebbe Falls is a breathtaking masterpiece of nature, a place where time seems to stand still in the embrace of its beauty.

INCREDIBLE place! A must visit! Depending on how safe the waters are, you can literally go stand under the waterfall.
You have to take a jeep to reach the waterfall. They charge ₹500/head and they don't allow any other vehicle beyond the starting point. The ride takes about 30mins but it is very scenic by itself. But the amount is absolutely worth paying.
I visited in July, peak monsoon season. Visibility is low and you can't see the valley on the way to the falls. The waters are more full though, and the waterfall looked majestic.
Beware of leeches though! Do not stray away from the path.

Just an awesome place. From the check post, you have to hire a jeep which cost rs.500 per person. Hebbe falls is a 12 km Jeep journey from the forest check post point. The jeep ride is very hectic for aged people because the road is very bad. Young people can handle the jeep ride. We enjoyed this ride very much. The so-called road (🥴) is through the Bhadra Reserve. Beautiful waterfall in Bhadra Wild life sanctuary. Jeeps charge ₹500 per person for two way trip from the entry point. It's about 40-50 minutes journey by jeep. From morning till afternoon the jeeps are available to visit the waterfalls every 15 minutes and they get 12 people seated in a jeep. One hour and fifteen minutes of time is given to visit the waterfalls and come back after they drop you near the waterfalls. There is another 20 minutes walk through the jungle from jeep drop point to reach the waterfalls.
No washrooms or changing rooms at waterfalls. Hence visitors should change the clothes and use wash rooms at a place where jeep rides start before and after visiting the waterfalls.
Elderly people with back ache should take care because the jeep ride is through rough terrain otherwise the ride is enjoyable through the beautiful forest area.
Also beware of leeches in slow or stagnant waters surrounding the main waterfalls area.
In summer also this waterfalls has plentiful water. The rocks are slippery, but once you carefully pass them and reach below the waterfalls then there is a nice sandy bottom and enjoy the bath in about up to 6 feet deep water.

One of the most beautiful falls, located in the mid of forest. Around 1.5 hr from city centre, you can take the car till the booking spot. Then you are taken into a van/jeep 590/- per person.( Although while coming back, we saw that booking was being taken straight from the main gate and was written as 500/- and it wasnt available in the morning)It takes around 3.5-4 hrs of total time including a 12-15 mins trek in the last. You can take a dip in the fall though it is very slippery. My advise is to Visit it in the early morning for lesser crowd.
