Chelavara Water Falls is a picturesque waterfall nestled among hills surrounded by lush greenery. Visitors need to take a short trek of around 500 meters, which becomes narrow and steep towards the end, requiring caution. One can view the waterfall from a distance as there is no access down to the pool. The sound of water amidst the quiet forest provides a calming effect.
Scenic waterfall nestled among the hills.
You need to do a short and easy trek for around 500 meters. Initial path was broad however the last 250 meters are very narrow with sudden drops in elevation, so you need to be a bit careful.
The waterfall can be viewed from a distance only and there is no way of getting down to it to get soaked.
The sound of water amidst the quiet of the forest is simply rejuvenating and calming.
Plus point, there was no one else around for the full duration we were there.

The place is good, however you cannot get into the water.... You can just click a few pics with the falls in the back drop.
There are no eating places and no entry charges

Mesmerizing beauty of water falling over a huge rock.. looks wow 😳..
But be careful about wild life.. I noticed fresh mark of bison and elephant and day or two old pug marks these climbing towards up side of falls from alternate road.
Never try to get into water it's always good to enjoy the nature from far don't try to hug it

Chelavara waterfall is a beautiful waterfall, but there is no access to the waterfall. Therefore you can see the waterfall from a vantage point. A small narrow path that leads to the waterfall. The view of the waterfall is good. The waterfall is dangerous and hence the reason people are asked not to go near the waterfall. There were people who were bathing in the waterfall, in spite of the warning. 15 minutes is all it takes to visit this place. I suggest tourists can visit Kabbe hills and while returning stop here to see the waterfall

Visited 03Jan2022. It was a beautiful sunny day, the waterfall looked lovely. It was a short 5 min trek up the narrow path from the car parking point. Captured a few videos with the drone. Do take a look. Thanks!

Beautiful place to visit. Beautiful until you watch from away.
Little 400 meter walk, not suggested in heavy raining
Watch out on leaches.
Don’t cross the fences and try to go near falls it’s dangerous

The view is absolutely beautiful. And this is how the falls looks in December. There's still a lot of water and there are caution signs put up all over the place. Please be careful here as it's slippery (during monsoon). It's best to just go and look at it from a distance. That's what we did. Also there's no Trek or anything to go to the falls. It's just a small scenic path through coffee plantation filled with rocks that you can easily walk through(some 400-500m). But the view is definitely worth it. 8/10 overall.

Beautiful waterfall to visit. However cannot go down near the waterfall base. (flow is too strong during rains)
We visited Nov end 2021, flow was pretty good that time.
Very short trek of about 10-15 minutes.

This place is on way to Tamara and the odyssey resort . You can search in google and this place is away from city but must visit for peace and falls view.
I visited in weekdays and early Morning time . There will be no time limit but not recommended after 6pm since it’s surrounded by forest and coffee plantation and no people and no light area.
The way is completely filled with estates and lush green and this falls will be visible to road . Kindly stop when you see board about falls because the way to falls will start here with small walking path .google shows top way which is not needed as it won’t have any falls view and waste of time .
It’s a small trucking for about 5-10mints and road is small and wet due to monsoon rain and near by water moisture .be careful while trucking and be aware of leech’s.
We can’t go near falls and play in water as lot of deaths happened due to slipping on stone issue in past but you will go very near to falls and view is damn good. In weekends there will b no people so you can take good picks and enjoy some lonely no crowd peace time.
No parking charge no entry free since nobody will be there but kindly be careful as there won’t be anyone around , you will be solely responsible for your safety.

It’s a serene waterfall ! Love this place so much.
Please avoid going deep down to the waterfall. But some boys go there which is quite risky . The sound & the proper view of the waterfall can be viewed from the spot! ( Photo/Video attached )
This is a short trek of 300mts approximately from the main road ! Parking is a constraint as we had to park on the road ( U turn) !
We went now in June & it’s monsoon there. You have taken precautions for leeches & always carry an umbrella 🌂.

Really amazing view. No entry fee. You can go near the falls at your own risk. Just a 50 meter walk from the road side. Legally don't think we can go near falls. Better to go after mansoon so that you can go near it.

it is located on the way to Kabbe Holidays Homestay and is near Thadiyandamol, the highest point in Kodagu. The falls is visible after walking 200 meters into the forest from the place available for parking.
One can easily get into dangerous waters and pulled in. It is approximately 100 feet deep. There are danger signs all over. Locals advise not getting into the water. About 20 people have died here.

It's a small beautiful waterfall. Visited in December, didn't have much water around that time.
This is a short trek of 300mts approximately from the main road. Authorities have blocked the way that goes to the bottom of the waterfall due to serious risk of injuries, but few still go taking huge risks.Parking is a constraint as we had to park on the road.
There's another spot for viewing the waterfall, either continue the trek from the 1st spot or keep driving up the same road. There will be a crossing of an unpaved road, park vehicle there and follow the unpaved road and you will reach destination after a short walk. This 2nd spot according to me is much more safer and easy to reach.

Loved this place. The view was so amazing to see sunset. Sunset was not visible as it was drizzling here and there. But that was not bad either. It was beautiful to see various clouds moving as well. Also, they were constricting and renovating the view path.
The place was clean. Visitors did not trash the place much. The park had lots of greens and flowers. Once the construction is complete, I trust that there would be more adjacent view points.

Raja’s seat is basically a well maintained park which has wide variety of flowers planted at the entrance and various animal statues installed all over the park. Kids would enjoy this place. Once you reach the other end of the park, the view will just blow your mind. The best time to visit the place would be during sunset. There is a sitting area with benches to sit, relax and enjoy the sunset. Parking area for vehicles is about 100 meters away from the park.

The Rajarajeshwara temple is a Shiva temple located in Taliparamba in Kannur district of Kerala, India. The temple is regarded as one of the existing 108 ancient Shiva Temples of ancient Kerala. It also has a prominent place amongst the numerous Shiva temples in South India. It had the tallest shikhara amongst the temples of its time. The Rajarajeshwara temple has a top of about 90 tonnes. If any problem is encountered in the other temples of South India, devotees seek a solution in this temple through a prashnam, a traditional method of astrological decision making.
The prashnam is conducted on a peedha (a raised platform) outside the temple.
Legendarily, it was supposedly renovated by Sage Parashurama, long before the Kali Yuga commenced. Several centuries ago, it was renovated by the Mushika (Kolathiri) dynasty kings. This temple was rebuilt into its present form in the early eleventh century. The quadrangular sanctum has a two-tiered pyramidal roof; in front of the sanctum is the namaskara mandapam, but the temple has no kodi maram (flagstaff), unlike others in Kerala. Only Hindus are permitted to enter.
Taliparamba is also regarded as one of the ancient Shakti Peethams. Legend has it that the head of Sati (Goddess/ wife of Shiva) fell here after Shiva's tandavam following Sati's self-immolation.
The Shiva Linga here is believed to be several thousands of years old. Legend has it that Shiva gave 13 sacred Shivalingas to Parvati/Sati to worship. One sage, Maandhata, propitiated Lord Shiva with intense prayers. Shiva was so pleased that he presented one of the Shiva Lingas to him with the injunction that it should be installed only at a place where there was no cremation ground. The sage, after searching all over, found Taliparamba the most sacred spot where he installed the Shiva Linga.
It is believed that Sri Rama during his victorious return from Lanka stopped here to offer worship to Lord Shiva. In honor of His presence, devotees are not allowed into the namaskara mandapam even today.
Lord Shiva, as worshiped in this sacred temple, is known as Sree Rajarajeswara, which means the Emperor of Emperors — the Lord Supreme. The name signifies the supreme transcendental power in the background of mysterious drama of the boundless universe. That power is invoked here as Lord Rajarajeshwara.
The temple covers a spacious compound of about eight acres surrounded by a compound wall with two gopurams on the eastern and western sides. The ancient compound wall is a wondrous architectural marvel built of huge cut stones placed one above the other without any cementing mortar, broad at the base and tapering towards the top.
The main gate is on the east before one enters the temple; one turns eastwards and offers prayers to Lord Vaidyanatha (kanhirangaatt-appan), an aspect of lord Shiva worshiped as the lord of physicians, enshrined in temple about 6 km from Rajarajeswara temple.

Also, one cannot take shirt inside. You have to hang that outside on a stand provided by temple administration.
4) mobile, handbags, other temple prasadams etc are strictly not allowed inside nalambalam.
5) The Pooja timings are very long(1 hour etc).Hence please be mindful about the Pooja timings before visiting the temple.

One of the ancient Shiva temple of North Kerala, had the tallest shikhara (spire on a Hindu temple) amongst the shrines of its era. The two-tiered sanctum sanctorum is built in a rectangular shape with copper sheets on the roof. The entire complex is a fine example of Kerala’s temple architectural style.
Women devotees are not allowed to enter inside during morning time and only allowed after 7.30 pm ( It is said that at this hour, Lord Shiva is happy in the company of his consort Parvathy, and hence quick to grant women devotees their wishes)
Temple Darshan Timings: 5 AM to 12 noon; 5 PM to 8.30 PM (Ladies 7.30 PM to 8.30 PM).

Sree Rajarajeswara Temple is located at Taliparamba which about 20km away from Kannur in Kerala.
This is one of the prominent Shiva temples of South India. Lord Shiva is called here as Raja Rajeswara (King of Kings). The temple is also a Shakthi Peerham. The temple is very very old and believed to be built by Cheraman Perumals (third century AD).
The temple is brutally attacked by Tipu and his army and destroyed much of the great complex. Even today, you could see the marks of this destruction. The temple is maintained well and the tradition is followed with much vigour.
It is always a great blessing from darshan in this great temple.
Sree Rajarajeswara Temple is also connected two nearby temples, namely; Thrichambaram Sree Krishna Temple and Kanjirangad Sree Vaidyanatha Temple. It is a great feeling to visit three temples in a day.

The Sree Rajarajeswara Temple in Kannur is a really old and beautiful temple. It has a lot of stories and history. The temple has undergone many renovation, but the entrance is still this big, amazing carved stone.
There are cool ponds near the temple, and it's a mustbvisit if you're in Kannur. But be aware, there are some rules for ladies so it's good to ask before you go. And don't take your phone or bags inside it's not allowed. You can leave them outside or even better in your vehicle if you have one. Abbey Falls is a picturesque tourist attraction located 1 kilometer from the town, known for its natural beauty and mesmerizing sound of water cascading over rocks. Surrounded by lush coffee plantations and spice estates, it was previously named Jessie Falls during colonial times. With a height of around 70 feet, this magnificent waterfall joins the Kaveri River and provides visitors with stunning views amidst its scenic surroundings.
Good place to visit. A lovely waterfall though water was less as it was March. A rope bridge to other side of fall is broken currently. Need a long walk across various steps. People with walking /climbing issues need to be careful while visiting. There are benches on the way for people to rest. Well maintained area with a entry fee for visitors and parking fee for cars. Must visit if you are in Madikeri.

The waterfalls at this location are a sight to behold. It is necessary to descend around 100 steps to get to the base of the falls, but the view is worth it. The surrounding plantations add to the beauty of the area. While the overall experience was positive, the bridge leading to the falls could have been better maintained.
The water from the falls is refreshing and has the ability to wash away stress and rejuvenate the senses. It's no wonder that this place is a must-visit for nature lovers. Thanks to the efforts of the local community in Coorg, this beautiful natural attraction has been preserved for all to enjoy. The small fee of Rs.10 for entry is a small price to pay for such a mesmerizing experience.

Good one.. We have to watch and come back from a point. No access to reach/ touch/ bath in falls. You have to visit the point through stairs only. No ramp or other source. Elderly people may face difficulty. So I have rated 3. Presently this photo is my mobiles wall paper.

Visited here last year, it was a sunny day and humidity was high. It would have been wonderful if we could have access to the waterfall but we saw that the bridge was broken(not actually broken but twisted in a weird way). Still it looked quite stunning while in sunlight. Even though I hope that the bridge is fixed soon so that waterfall might become accessible, in a way it's good because people might start littering near the waterfall and it wouldn't be the same.

Abbe Falls in Coorg is a breathtaking natural wonder that left me in awe. The moment I arrived, the sound of cascading water and the lush greenery captivated my senses. The falls were a beautiful sight, with water gushing down the rocks, creating a mesmerizing view.
The pathway to the falls was well-maintained, making the journey enjoyable and safe. I appreciated the effort put into ensuring visitors could access the site comfortably. There were plenty of spots to take photos and admire the beauty of nature.
I particularly loved the surrounding forest and the variety of trees and plants. The air was so fresh and filled with the pleasant aroma of nature. It felt like a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
One thing to keep in mind is that it can get a bit crowded, especially during peak tourist seasons. However, even with the crowd, the falls' natural beauty shone through.
Overall, Abbe Falls is a must-visit if you're in Coorg. It's a great place to connect with nature and witness the sheer wonder of a waterfall. I left with a sense of tranquility and a memory of a truly beautiful place.

The view of the falls is amazing but swimming is not allowed in this falls. There are parking lots available for you to park your vehicles, and you have to walk around 100 steps to reach the falls which is little tiring but worth it to watch the falls. Good place to visit which is nearer to town. You need to get an entry ticket and walk for few minutes to reach the falls.
Best time to feel the falls will be during the monsoon where you have huge water running from the mountain.
Note: You won't be able to go near the water. You can view the falls and click pictures.

Beautiful !! The place looks like largely destroyed by flood and landslides. But still safe to go. It's a spectacular view. Don't go near the waterfalls during rains as the source of water is from mountains above and at any time huge floods can fill the river in no time. There are many spots for clicking photos. Be careful entering the river as stones are so polished and slippery. Overall a must visit place

The Sri Bhagandeshwara Temple is a significant Hindu pilgrimage site situated near the confluence of three rivers. The temple features multiple idols and showcases exquisite Kerala style architecture, attracting thousands of devotees every day. Traditional daily prayers are offered, followed by the distribution of Prasada as food to followers. The atmosphere is peaceful and well-maintained with remarkable wooden cuttings at the top of the temple structure.
Bhagamandala is 40 km from Madikeri (on the way to Talakaveri). It is known to have been built by the Chola kings in the 11th century. The architecture of many of the temples here is reminiscent of the temple style of Kerala. There are temples of Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva or Bhagandeshwara (local famous name for Lord Shiva), Lord Subramanya and Lord Vishnu. What I like most about this temple complex is its cleanliness and very quiet environment.
We were not too crowded the day we went and we were able to pray quietly and hurriedly. Also you can get annaprasadam on afternoon.
The Triveni Sangam is also nearby, where you can bathe in the river and enjoy the natural beauty. In fact, it is the confluence of three rivers, the Kaveri, the Kannike and the Sujoti. This association is also known as the Triveni Association. After bathing at Triveni, one goes to Dakaveri, about 8 km from Bhagamandala.
Om Nama Shivaya.

Kerala style architecture of the temple is excellent. Ambience is superb. Maintenance is good. Every day prayers are offered by following traditional practices. After maha mangalarathi at noon, food is offered to devotees as Prasada.
Parking lot needs improvement as major construction work is in progress.

Bhagamandala in Madikeri is a beautiful place to visit. It's a small town in Karnataka, India, known for its religious significance and natural beauty.
The first thing you notice is the peaceful atmosphere. Surrounded by lush greenery and the calming sound of the river, it's a perfect spot to relax and unwind. The air is fresh and clean, making it a great escape from the city.
One of the main attractions is the Triveni Sangama, where three rivers come together. It's a sacred place for Hindus and a nice place to take a short boat ride to experience the confluence.
The temples in Bhagamandala are another highlight. The Sri Bhagandeshwara Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is architecturally fascinating. It's a place where you can experience spirituality and tranquility.
The local market offers a variety of souvenirs and local produce. Don't miss the chance to try the delicious local cuisine, especially the Coorgi dishes.
However, it's important to note that the town can get a bit crowded during peak tourist seasons. To fully enjoy the serenity, it's best to visit during the off-season.
Overall, Bhagamandala is a lovely place to visit for a peaceful retreat, a glimpse into spirituality, and a taste of local culture.

The temple is located on a hill top. Hence, it was quite chilly out there. The temple is quite small. The view from the temple is quite scenic.
There is a dress code to follow at the temple. Shorts and short skirts are not allowed inside the temple premises. Devotees can wear traditional/ethnic clothes or a pair of shirt/t-shirt and full trousers.
It was a good experience overall.

This is a beautiful temple and has a great view. Definitely recommend to visit it. Shorts not allowed, so please ensure to dress appropriately. The temple is 45 km from the city and it takes more than 1 hour to drive up to the temple. So consider that. Also the roads are curvy, so people with motion sickness can have some difficulty.

You need to park your vehicle before climbing the short inclination. There are steps and needs a 10 min walk cum climb to the temple. We had a chance to touch and feel the source of Kaveri! A place with scenic beauty.

1. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE COMING JUST TO VISIT OR TO SEE THE HILL VIEW POINT AS IT IS CLOSED.
2. It takes around 2hr+ to reach here on the way to coorg. The road is very narrow and uphill. Also it's very bad.
3. They charge 20/- as forest permits, 40/- as panchayat charges. Parking is free however, however if its crowded you wont get parking and have to walk very long.
4. There is a chappal stand 3/- per chappal and toilet @5/-. Prasad is there @20/-.
5. Photography is prohibited from the temple. However you can click pictures chupke chupke.
There is nothing great to see here, as we are from Goa It's common for us goans. The route which leads here is very long and boring. That's the only reason.

Located about 45 kms from Kodagu, Talakaveri is considered the source of river Kaveri.
It si believed that the Kodavas erected a tank next to the temple and that the river originates as a spring feeding a tank or a Kundike and then flows underground to re-emerge as Kaveri some distance away.
The temple is dedicated to the Goddess Kaveriamma next to the tank and bathing in it on special occasions is considered holy. Its a great place to walk around,
Next to the temple there is a hill which can be climbed by taking about 400 steps. One can get scenic views of th forest around and the hills of Coorg. Even from the temple level, one can get a good views.
On a week end the place gets crowded. There is no entry fee and the place is open from 6.00 am to 8.30 pm. Parking is outside the complex on the road.

It is believed that the river kaveri originates here. The way to this temple is a bit far from madikeri, so if you are planning to visit this place getting an auto sometimes might be hard, so one of the best way is to reach till bagmandala temple by auto and from there take a bus to here and while returning take a bus till here back. But if you are lucky, you can get an auto ride from madikeri like we did which is almost a 40-45 mins ride from madikeri. The view there is just so beautiful, could literally see the clouds moving around. This auspicious place is a must visit in coorg. Loved every bit of it. Located in Coorg, the Scotland of India, this is a beautiful temple that blends in with nature. Summers can be a bit hot, but a trip here during winters and rainy season will give you an unforgettable experience. The temple is the origin of Karnataka's holy river Kaveri. Starting from a spring in the temple pond, the river later splits into three, one of which flows west and merges with the Chandragiri river. Another is the Kabani river which flows eastwards to Wayanad. The third and most important river is the Kaveri River. Kaveri is known as the mother of Kodakin. This is the Triveni Sangam in South India. It is known as a tourist center but being a holy or a sacred place, it is better to be careful about dress code etc. Wearing low cut frocks, shorts etc. cannot enter the temple premises. There is plenty of space to park vehicles. It is best to be careful not to take pictures from places where photography is prohibited.

I have one of my superb experiences here. Luckily the time was good for us and we got to visit this beautiful and holy place in good weather.
Mallalli Falls is a picturesque natural area that offers visitors the chance to witness multi-tiered waterfalls set amidst stunning lush scenery. While the falls are truly amazing, access to them requires descending over 700 steps, which can be a thrilling experience for some but may not be recommended for elderly individuals. Due to safety concerns and several fatalities in the past, the government has implemented strict restrictions around accessing and playing near the falls.
This is an amazing waterfalls. The journey to the falls will surely tire you, but it's definitely worth the visit. You will have to climb down around 800 steps to reach the falls. Sometimes the entry will be restricted during heavy water season. You can ask about it with shopkeepers at the parking area before you climb down. Best time to visit would be September to December.

The falls is one of the top falls in Karnataka. Must visit in monsoon. The water level is extremely good and treat to your eyes. There are steps on the way to the falls, and be careful on the leaches out there. In monsoon, umbrella and raincoat are must to visit the falls. Also try to bring another set of clothes as a extra precaution. There are no good food options available nearby. Kushalnagar is one of the options for food.

There are many steps which we need to take to reach to the bottom of waterfall. But you cannot go near waterfall or swim or play. You can view it from fence. It gets difficult and tiring for elders to climb up and back steps.
Better to go early morning or evening to avoid crowd and sun.

It was a very neat area and as usual men pilgrims are required to remove the shirt & banian while taking the Swami darshan. The Prasad package will be given for the pilgrims who pay for it not for all. Even the anna Prasad is also provided for the Prasad recipients only. All types of sevas can be done by making online payment. You can reach out to this temple via train as well "Subrahmanya road (SBHR)" is the train stop which is just 20mins away from the temple. The trains are available for those who are coming from Bangalore, Mangalore etc.
Note: Photography is strictly prohibited inside the temple.

A must visit place to see the lord Subrahmanya (Serpent God). Hindus temple located in Western Ghats of Karnataka, India..
It also has some interesting places nearby, I uploaded videos and images of those places...

An outstanding spiritual destination and one of Karnataka's must visit temple!
The temple carries lot of significance and most prominent for Sarpa dosha parikara pooja.
The temple is located amidst hills, beautiful ambience and well maintained premises offer good positive experience to the devotees. Evening Bandi pooja is also very special in the temple where the Urchavar is taken around the temple couple of times in a pallak.
Prasadam is available at a cost of Rs.100, which includes a small bottle of thertam water.
There are several lodges, hotels and restaurants around the temple premises.
Less than a Km walkable distance from main bus stand.
There was traditional folk based dance/drama song recital of Ramayanam when we had visited. It was a great visual experience.
Hot during Summers and crowded during holidays/weekends.

It was very crowded as we had visited during govt holidays so it would be easy to have a prior booking of the rooms in Kukke subhramanya swamy temple of planning to visit on holidays and it is better to purchase tickets online for pujas as there was so huge line at the ticket counter early in the morning at 4am. The ticket counter opens exactly at 6am so people stand in line before the time. Some puja tickets are available online and for other pujas should purchase at the temple ticket counter.

The temple which is giving relief to so many people having dosha..ie making people to live peacefully The atmosphere is very good for people from city as well people from rural enjoy the simplicity.

A religious place to cleanse your soul & mind. Calm & quiet. The temple is always filled with devotes from all across the country. Surely people are always eager to get the darshan of the deity first so pushing around happens. The prasadam is simple yet nice & free for all.

Best temple to visit during all time. There's Kumaradhara River which is 2.3km away from the Subrahmanya swamy temple, a place where you can take bath and go to temple for dharshana. Temple is well maintained by the management but people should keep it clean as there're so many slippers scattered here and there, there's separate place allocated for slippers which is well maintained and free of cost.
Best place to visit with family and friends.

Positive Beliefs of this temple are strong. As I went on Sasti day, one can expect long queues and untidy places as Hindu pilgrims still don't bother for cleanliness. But when you enter the Abode you forget everything.

Amazing experience, super friendly staff! We did a day and night cruise. Food (we had vegetarian) was delicious. Ravi is an excellent guide and gives good information during the boat trip. He, the cook and the captain are so friendly!

Things to do around Bekal and the first thing on mind - houseboat. Booked a car from the hotel and headed straight to our destination. You can book a cruise online or the hotel you staying.
We booked an evening cruise 🛳 but to our bad luck the rain 🌧 took away most of the enjoyment.
A warm welcome by our host and aye aye captain with a glass of refreshing drink and off we go.
Thesajwani river is huge, beautiful, clean and breathtaking.
Our captain and host were just amazing and kept us entertained with history of the place.
The houseboat was clean with a bedroom and washroom attached, a dinning table for 4.
Off we sailed passing by small island with familes living on it, fishermen in small boats.
Refreshments on board could be changed to kerela banana chips, Ada pradhaman, Achappam, halwa etc with tea/coffee rather than potato and onion pokoda.
Plz don't entertain loud music on the cruise or it will lose its charm like the goa cruise just noise no fun.
Overall it was a mesmerizing and memorable experience.

We had a fabulous 2 hour trip. Our Captain Krishnan and guide (Mr Ravi) were so welcoming and made the journey to the sea-break and back super interesting with their extensive knowledge. Passing fishing boats and local harbours, homes and life along the river banks, seabirds and gorgeous afternoon and sunset panoramas. The on board tea and snacks were good too. And the bathroom was super clean!

It was really a good experience. Just because the engine turbines got struck with rope at evening. We couldn’t have ride at evening for our over night stay. Also the flush doesn’t work. So I’m giving a 3 star. Other than that the staff are very nice and cooperative. The food was really good. Thanks for compensating in form of switching on ac early.

It's a good place to visit but the water and facilities are not a good place. I think putting 15k is not worth the house. The food is good but we can't eat it so smelly around the area. Best to book a room nearby and travel in other boats to explore the place.

We had a wonderful trip. It was an amazing view of the river side filled with coconut trees. When we started I was doubtful in mind to have taken a 5 hour journey. But we enjoyed every moment. Its going to be fun filled time with family and friends. We were lucky to have a pleasant climate as well. Lunch was yummilicious. Hospitality of crew was outstanding. We had a lovely day on boat.

We (6 adults, 2 children) booked a lunch cruise through our hotel for one of our days in a 4 day trip to Bekal. The cruise was perfectly done and we had a peaceful afternoon in a houseboat on the river.
The Food: The food selection was a local cuisine with fried fish, chicken with gravy, a beans curry and local rice. The food was perfectly cooked and tasted delicious. For desert a Payasam with seviyan and sabudama was served and it was exquist. We all loved the food and still long for more.
The Staff: The captain was super kind and kept the ship steady, he also let us steer the ship at the beginning. The rest of the staff were extremely kind and helpful and offered us more food when we needed it. They did everything we asked. We are very happy with the service.
The experience: The captain gave us information about the islands around us . The cruise was very comfortable and very relaxing, which was needed for the majority of us.
Overall this was amazing with fantastic food, helpful staff and comfortable experience. We will definitely recommend Bekal Ripples to friends and family

We had been in the boat names Thejeswini. It was a wonderful experience with a good staff. We had hired a private boat for a 2 hour trip in the backwaters in Nileshwar.
They gave us snack with tea along with this trip. You can also enjoy the karaoke along with this enjoyable journey or you can connect your phones through bluetooth and enjoy the music you like. The backwater was clean and the scenery around was refreshing with lots of coconut trees and other variants around. A lot of bird species rejuvenated the place.
There is a bedroom with an attached bathroom. The place was pretty clean and well maintained. Try this experience when you visit Bekal as its almost a 40 minute drive from Bekal.
Overall it was a wonderful experience.

Bekal Fort is an impressive and expansive stronghold that offers picturesque views of the sea. The fort boasts well-preserved walls, gates, and tunnels, making it a fascinating destination for history enthusiasts. Efforts have been made to maintain the property in good condition. It is recommended to visit early during summer to avoid sun exposure and allocate at least 2-3 hours to explore the entire complex.
The fort is well maintained looking over the Arabian sea. There is a well maintained garden in the fort area. You can walk from one end to other of the fort, look over the sea and enjoy the beach view and cool breeze through the sea. Better to visit this place post noon, so that place will be a bit cool and you can watch amazing sunset from the fort.

Great historic monument situated in a very strategic location. Best time to visit is earlier in the day or late in the evening since the place is open and not much of a shade except few trees around. If you're visiting during other times of the day it's advisable to carry an umbrella to protect you from the tropical heat.
It's a huge estate and a nice long walk around the periphery is a must-do apart from walking up the rampart. Southward view is towards the beautiful beach and the westward one/gate is great for viewing amazing sunsets.
You can buy tickets at the counter or via UPI by scanning a QR code.
There is ample paid parking near the fort.
Fort entry closes by 5:30pm, though hours are till 6pm.

Well, I'm not sure what I have to say, but it's ok to visit one-time here. It's just a big fort beside the ocean. It doesn't have much greenery like it used to have a few years ago, especially during this season (check picture for reference). Bit crowded in certain places, and you will be able to see people not following basic rules for example, it might be written, don't cross the fences or sit on top of the wall as such, but you will anyway end up seeing people trespassing those and sitting on top of walls and such. It's such a huge fort that it would take almost an hour or more to cover the entire fort. No food or drinks are available inside th fort, so you will have to buy it from outside before entering. All you can do here is just walk walk walk, which is a good exercise and enjoy some views and relish the history. There are places to rest, but I would advise to take umbrellas if you are going during hot season. Don't exactly remember the entry fee, but it's somewhere between 40-60 if I am not wrong. Also, the best time to visit would be in the evenings. Please don't go in the afternoon and all, you'll would be dead...😂☀️🌞 oh just to add, they accept only cash, even though they have a QR code at the ticket counter that is for people who have booked online. Not sure what's the logic behind that, so better keep cash ready. No UPI payments accepted, at least when we went.

Inside the fort, you'll find carefully preserved relics, including ancient cannons and secret tunnels. **Exploring the Spiritual Oasis of Dharmasthala**
Nestled amidst the verdant beauty of Karnataka, Dharmasthala beckons travelers with its serene ambiance and spiritual allure. As you embark on your journey to this sacred destination, prepare to be enveloped in a realm of devotion, tradition, and tranquility.
Dharmasthala, revered as a pilgrimage center, is renowned for its centuries-old Dharmasthala Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple's sanctity is not defined by the deity alone but by the spirit of egalitarianism that pervades its premises. Here, all visitors, regardless of caste, creed, or religion, are welcomed with open arms, embodying the essence of universal brotherhood.
Upon stepping foot in Dharmasthala, the air resonates with the soul-stirring chants of hymns and the fragrance of incense, creating an atmosphere conducive to introspection and spiritual renewal. The intricate architecture of the temple, adorned with ornate carvings and vibrant paintings, narrates tales of devotion and divine grace.
Beyond the spiritual realm, Dharmasthala offers a tapestry of cultural experiences and natural wonders. Explore the nearby Netravathi River, where the tranquil waters mirror the azure sky, offering a serene backdrop for contemplation and relaxation.
Immerse yourself in the vibrant bazaars surrounding the temple, where artisans showcase their craft, and the aroma of traditional delicacies tantalizes the senses. Indulge in the flavors of authentic South Indian cuisine, savoring each bite as a symphony of taste and tradition.
As the day draws to a close, find solace in the embrace of nature at the nearby Shri Manjunatha Swamy Betta, offering panoramic vistas of the lush countryside and a serene retreat for the weary soul.
In essence, Dharmasthala transcends mere pilgrimage; it is a journey of the spirit, a sanctuary of peace, and a timeless testament to the enduring power of faith and devotion.

It was my first time visit to this temple and possibly the biggest temple I have seen so far. It's a well managed and organized temple for people to come and see the deity and have food free of cost. This temple has the biggest kitchen when it comes to preparing the food for Bhaktas. This temple is known to have a very rich culture and history that dates back to 800 years

We arrived after dark on a mid December day and the temple grounds was buzzing with activity and energy. This temple draws pilgrims and travelers from all over, especially the south. It is well organized and you can buy from a range of seva tickets or simply take it all in your own way. It has a hill station feel and a temple town vibe. Read about Dharmasthala before you visit - it has an interesting history of origin and administration. The abode of spirituality and charity, it lives its mission through many charitable activities

This is a lord shiva temple surrounded by a ghat roads and beautiful nature and hills. Its a powerful temple where everyone including me believe whatever wishes we pray comes true here…
There is no entry tickets for dharshanam and it’s free with little wait time in queue in week days and in week ends it’s takes up to 30mins of wait time…and if you wish for special dharshanam you can buy tickets.
Before dharshanam in temple we have to go to NETRAVATHI RIVER and dip there after that only we have to enter the temple.
Male (boys) should remove their shirt during dharshanam and after dharshanam you will be provided annadanam (prasadam) to eat which is awesome. They provide food for thousands and lakes of people everyday for free.
We also can stay in free rooms provided by the temple where we have to provide our aadhar cards to them and pay 30/- rupees for one room (there is no charging slots in rooms and toilets) but in front of the rooms only free toilets are provided).
Roads are good to travel. Travelling in ghat roads gives us never ending memories and joy with beautiful scenery and hills with 360• covered by greenery but a little danger too to travel . And other road has no ghat sections but only with greenery nature and beautiful views.

The Dharmasthala temple dates back 800 years
It's a holy place of Manjunatheshwara (aka Dharmasthala manjunatha) temple environment is nice along with best temperature, if you are visiting pls plan in weekdays to avoid much of crowd or rush and if ur visiting in weekends or public Holiday's pls plan accordingly as there will too much of unavoidable que and which will consume hours of time for final darshana (vision) ending up lot of day time wastage, there was decently moderate que when we visited (29/12/2023) and took nearly 3hrs.
Negative -1 ⭐ is because the annadanam pls where they just throw the items and go just to do the job, which makes the places dirty and sticky to feet while walking on bare foot 👣, instead waiting for second and serving would avoid lot of food wastage on spillage on ground (no complaints on taste or quality of food).

The temple has a very extensive queue system, which is efficiently managed by the temple authorities. We waited for nearly an hour and a half in line, but the darshan of Mahadev was truly serene. The annadhana at 1.00pm was a delightful experience. The dining hall was impeccably constructed and maintained, adding to the overall pleasant atmosphere of the temple.

Also had temple call Annappa swamy bhetta which will be open for around two months is what I came to know, Annappa is also one of the very power full god in this place.
There are places like museum of ancient materials, museum of cars, aquarium, bahubali statue in the bahubali hills,
The temple also provides free rooms.
There is a dining hall called Anna purna
We get Prasad of Sri Manjunatha everyday from morning around 11am.

One of the must see temples in Kerala. Since it's in a remote location please plan ahead. The pond has a big crocodile in it. They say that it is a vegetarian one. The only proof for that is the thousands of big and small fish in that pond.
This.place is easy to find using Google maps.

One of the best temples I have been to in recent times. Located in a quiet and peaceful area in Kumbla, this temple is built on a lake and is really beautiful. The priests were friendly and told us about the history of the temple and even made arrangements to show us the star of the place, Babiya the crocodile. Yes, there really is a crocodile in the lake. From what I read, this temple is open to all and that is something I love. Would definitely recommend this place to all.

Ananthapadmanabhaswamy Temple or Ananthapura Lake Temple is a Hindu temple built in the middle of a lake in the little village of Ananthapura, around 6 km from the town of Kumbla in Manjeshwaram Taluk of Kasaragod District of Kerala, South India. This is the only lake temple in Kerala and is believed to be the original seat (Moolasthanam) of Ananthapadmanabha Swami (Padmanabhaswamy temple) Thiruvananthapuram. It is considered one among the 108 Abhimana Kshethram of Vaishnavate tradition. Legend has it that this is the original site where Ananthapadmanabha settled down.

A 9th-century beatiful temple of Sri Ananthapadmanabha Swamy (Bhagwan Mahavishnu) is located in Kumbla Kasaragod District, Kerala.
The temple is known as the moolasthanam, the original source of the Sri Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple of Thiruvananthapuram.
The temple is believed to have been established by Divakaras, who are known for their dedication to worshipping Bhagwan Vishnu.
The temple also has yet another interesting tale to tell—the story of the guardian crocodile. Since very ancient times, one crocodile has been seen there. After the worship, the feed offered by devotees is given to Babia at noon. Temple authorities claim that Babia is a vegetarian and has never harmed anyone, including the fish in the pond

Shree Ananthapadmanabha Swamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his form of Anantha Padmanabha, the one who reclines on the serpent Ananta. The temple is located inside the East Fort in the heart of the city.
The temple is considered to be one of the 108 holy temples of Lord Vishnu, and one of the world's richest temples. The name of the city of 'Thiruvananthapuram' in Malayalam and Tamil translates to "The City of Ananta". The temple is built in an intricate fusion of the Kerala style and the Dravidian style of architecture, featuring high walls, and a 16th-century gopura (ornate entrance gate).
The temple has a long history, and its hidden treasure has piqued people from time to time. As per popular beliefs, it was established about 5000 years ago by sage Divakara Muni Vilwamangalam, who found Lord Vishnu in a cave near a mahua tree. The main sanctum has an idol of Lord Anantha Padmanabha made of 12,000 saligramams (sacred stones) from Nepal, covered with gold and precious stones. The idol is about 18 feet long and can be seen through three doors. The temple also has shrines for Lord Narasimha, Lord Krishna, Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi.
- The temple is open from 3:15 AM to 12:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:20 PM on all days.
- The entry is free, but you have to follow a strict dress code. Men have to wear dhoti or mundu without any upper garment. Women have to wear sari, mundum neriyathum, skirt and blouse or half sari.

The Ananthapura Temple in Kasargod stands as a serene and stunning edifice amidst a lake enveloped by lush greenery. Renowned for its rich history linked to the revered deity Pathmanabha Swamy of Trivandrum, the temple exudes a sense of profound spirituality.
One of its unique features was the presence of a crocodile within the temple's lake, which peacefully coexisted with devotees. Though it passed away last year, a new generation, a baby crocodile, now guards this sacred site. This intriguing aspect adds to the temple's mystique and legacy, offering visitors a truly unique and memorable experience within its tranquil and spiritually resonant ambiance.

Very thankful to the temple authorities for maintaining such a facility...
One more bad experience near temple, one shop near parking area, siddipoornamba variety centre, The snacks are of very low quality, the bad smell was coming, we bought it for small kids, which is very dangerous for their health. When we asked the shopkeeper to smell or taste the same, he denied. See how they know the reality and still selling such dangerous products to bhakts of Amma..

Kadri Shree Manjunatha Temple is a Hindu temple established in the 10th or 11th century, featuring bronze statues and hosting annual festivities. The temple resembles North Indian structures upon entry, with a central Shiva idol likeness. Additionally, the temple boasts a natural water source from Kashi that provides cold, clean water with a sweet taste. Visitors can climb higher into the mountains to find small caves previously used as an escape route by Pandas during Mahabharata times.
One of the oldest temple. Situated in Mangalore city this temple is popular among tourists. This temple was built in the 10th or 11th century.
Main god worshipper here is lord Manjunatha. There is a natural spring at the temple premises and the water flow is constant throughout the year. It is called a Gomukha thirtha. Water is so pure that people even carry it for drinking purpose
There are 9 ponds/ lakes also near to the gomukha theertha.
I would recommend people visiting Mangalore to visit this temple and seek the blessing of Lord Manjunatha

There's a Ganapati temple besides the 7 ponds where there's an origin of Tirtha dhara from Gomukha, taking it on my head after the snana was one of the best spiritual experiences of my life. Furthermore there's a Mahadeva temple, right above it and on the way to the top you'll reach up to Hanuman temple. There's a newly built Yogeshwar mutt on the top of the hill and beautifully built temples and well maintained infrastructure to reach there too. A must visit temple for a Hindu believer.😇❤️

Kadri Manjunatha Temple is a historic temple in Mangalore in the state of Karnataka, India.
Kadri Manjunatha Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is believed to be the oldest Shiva Temple in Mangaluru. The temple also has tanks with natural springs and laterite caves also known as the Pandava Caves.
Since use of mobile phones are not allowed inside premises I managed to click a few only outside of the temple.

Visited this place for the first time. This seems to be an ancient auspicious temple and the deity is Lord Manjunatha. Good positive vibes in the temple. There are holy ponds where devotees can take a dip. There is a Shiva lingam and you are allowed to put water over it and this was amazing experience. The temple is well maintained and there is good parking space also available. On Namah Shivaya 🙌

Kadri Shree Manjunatha Temple in Mangalore is more than 1000 years old. Though the Temple is in the busy city it maintains utmost calmness as soon as one enters. Big temple. Seven Holy Ponds on the elevated place where devotees take a holy dip. There is a Gomukh at a natural elevated place at the back side of the temple where water pours out. Devotees can perform abishak to Lord Chandramouleeswara Shiv Ling with the natural spring water from Gomukh.

Amidst famous trio Anegudde, Dharmastala & Kukke, this beautiful Kadri Temple is not getting the attention it should. Only localites visit often.
It's one of the most beautiful and unique temple .
It has all Dieties, including Lord Hanuman Statue uphill.
There are beautiful 7 ponds/lakes originating from Ghomukha.
Also there's a Shivlinga you can worship yourself.
It's unique and beautiful.
Devotees take tender coconut to perform abhisheka.
Don't miss to visit this temple.
(It's said that Darmastala Manjunatha was sourced/taken from this Kadri Manjunatha. So it's said this is more powerful)

One of the very best temple I have ever visited in my life. Every devote of Shiva must come here if you live around Mangalore or if you follow Kaal bhairava. The temple is extremely old and has many relics . the temple is divided into two parts one below the hill and one on top of the hill . One has to climb up for about 5 minutes to reach the top of the hill . Where they will find the Kaal vhairava temple a long with the temple of 9 Naths.

When you enter the temple it feels like you are in northern part of India. Temple structure is somewhat similar to north Indian temples. Inside the main temple there is Manjunatha(Shiva) idol like structure. Upside of the temple there is a water source (as per the history goes, people say the source of water is directly from Kashi) The water is cold, clean and has a sweet taste. Also, there is a path way which goes little higher in the mountains above there you will find small caves. Is is said that from these caves Panda as from Mahabharata time used these caves as a escape route. The temple has a huge premises with different other small temple of other deities.

Apart from this, there is a very large 7 holy ponds where one can have a bath before darshan and stairs lead to the area where there is continuous flow of pure water which we take usually to the ShivaLing and offer Abhisheka to Lord Shiva.
Their is Hill kind green atmosphere stairs which leads to large statue of Lord Hanuman and a shrine. Moving further ahead we get to the famous Kadri Park. Must visit place in Mangalore with family and friends.

Tannirbhavi Beach, which can be reached by bridge or ferry, is a large sandy beach that provides a serene setting and has lifeguards on duty. Despite the fact that it is not permitted to swim or engage in water activities due to the deep waters, it remains an ideal location for unwinding with family. There is ample parking available and an abundance of seating from where you can admire the picturesque sunset.
Beautiful beach located in the coastal city of Karnataka, Mangaluru.
The beach is famous fast its sunset view since it is located on the west coast in Arabian sea. It attracts huge crowd in the evening mostly localities along with tourists. Most family outing place hence there are few activities in the beach including camel ride, horse ride etc. There are few eateries for refreshments. The benches have been put along the beach bund for people sit, relax and enjoy the sunset view with cool breeze.
The people also like to swim here in this beach. The shower facilities have been provided near toilets adjacent to parking for the people get fresh after swimming in salt water of sea.
There is a parking lot with nominal charges for both two and four wheelers.
Finally, the maintenance is good in keeping the beach clean inspite of huge crowds visiting the beach.

Lovely spot to hang out with friends and family. Evenings are best to visit, don’t miss the sunset. If going by public transport, need to travel a km by ferry, priced at 15 per person and free for children below 7. Do carry food/drinks as there are very less food outlets. Got to ride a horse too at the shore. Nice time spent, a must visit in Mangaluru.

Nice place for watching the Sun set over the Arabian sea. The approach road to the beach is through the port area and hence filled with heavy vehicles. Tannirbhavi beach which is one among the famous beaches in mangalore have made a huge changes from past year.
When i visited today , there was an entry fee of 20/- per head which has to be paid on entering the beach + fee for parking your vehicle is also paid🤷🏻♀️. Right now this changes is made by the govt for improvising the beach. There is still lot more which is still under construction.
Seating arrangements made with bamboo is really overwhelming and good. The one with the hut and a bamboo chairs cost 100/- per hour for 2 people. This is completely made for tourists people. This beach in coming future will loot lot of money just for such silly things. All these rates of parking fee+ entry fee+ the other fee which includes mineral water+ usage of public toilets should be made in package for those people who really want stuffs like this. This is entirely ridiculous. The management should check on further improvement on this facilities for upcoming new developments on whatsoever is happening there.

It was awesome!
The waves were not so violent and high, so the whole family can enjoy and have fun together irrespective of one's age. Sand was beautiful to play with. It was very much less polluted compared to others. We had visited around 7:00 am in the morning, so there were very less people and we had a great time. I am not sure about the crowd later during the day.
For tourists, I would highly recommend to visit during the early morning, to avoid severe heat, because I visited in summer. I am not sure about the other seasons though.

Beautiful sunset between 6-7 PM. Two way to reach here, ride all the way around 10kms from the main city or a very interesting way for the tourists is to go to Sulthan Battery and take a boat from there which drops one to Tannirbhavi. Many lifeguards present here too, going deep swimming is not allowed I believe, never tried. Weekends crowded, weekdays almost nobody will be there.

Well, not bad at all.. Honestly..
I Don't know if, take your drinks and be at the beach scene works there? Like In goa, as long as you stay out of other people's business and don't get involved in crazy staff. It's not that crowded however not bad at all.. There is a surfing point plus people swim.
No beach restaurants I went to. Just a walk by the beach.. I Had a good evening..
Benches are there to sit... Small gazebo type shades made for heat I assume.
I did not step in the water.. There is a horse for a ride... Please please please it's for kids.. Look at the size of that horse, feel sorry for it you large people. POV Adults need to go to a horse club for horse riding and pictures, it's only for kids.

Must visit place. Nice place to be with nature and understand a beautiful and vital species called Butterfly which we tend to ignore and think it is insignificant. But it is very important species playing a very important role in nature.
Best time to visit this place is between June and early September. Because this is time when butterflies comes down from Western Ghats to this place due to rains. Ideally reach this place by morning 08:00am. After 10:00 it gets hot (during Oct and Nov. During summers it might be terrible and I am not sure if there will be any butterflies then). If possible call up Mr. Sammilan Shetty and he would guide you better.
This place also does some kind of work (research) with Mangalore University, I guess.
Take a video tour or video introduction also. The introduction was very informative.
When I went there, there was Honey also for sale. We bought a few bottles.

It is a place for any butterfly wanderer and otherwise too for ones who love being close to nature and greenary around.
Three of us visiting the park for three days. Sarpita had come all the way from Kolkata with her mother to my home in Pune. We took an overnight bus to reach Belvai. Belvai bus stand is very close to Sammilan Shetty Butterfly Park. We were hosted in Sammilan’s guest house. This was about two Kms from the Park.
Coming from an urban hub, looking at this well planned park (for butterflies not us) was overwhelming. The moment you enter the park premises you feel you are in a jungle.
The butterfly park is very well planned and executed mostly with indigenous plant species that attracts butterflies to feed and breed around.
I got to see and learn of several plant species that I have not seen or known earlier, Clerodendrum, Hopea ponga and Aristolochia indica still stand out in my memory.
Since we had two whole days at the park, we were able to do several interesting observations like a weaver ant family devouring a freshly formed chrysalis of emigrant butterfly, a parasitoid caterpillar of Southern birdwing, a mating pair of medus brown, a peacock pansy caught up by a tiny crab spider, two tiny pigmy scrub hoppers bearing the rains out in open, Southern birdwings and several other butterflies enjoying nectar from the lantana an Stachytarpheta, a freshly eclosed yamfly quietly sucking Leea indica sap . However, the breath taking moment for me, was to see the Malabar banded peacock gliding through the park showing off its territory to us! A butterfly you will rarely see in the wild at such close quarters. It kept us on the toe for all three days.
The park is visited not only by butterfly enthusiasts like us but would not be wrong to say, the entire population of Beluvai and nearby areas. Families with young kids and elderlies, school children, college students all took pride in moving around and catching minimum of two to five names of butterflies before leaving. This is no less than a magic, creating understanding and sensitivity to every single visitors coming to the park.
Every visitor is run through a small presentation on butterfly diversity and behaviour documented right here at the park. This is interesting as any sighting is not ensured/guaranteed in the wild. Nobody will see a yamfly eclose, a tiny larva eating up its own egg shell or a mud puddling behaviour. The park team (Sammilan + college student interning here) take rounds to do presentation as per the crowd influx in preferred language be it Kanadda, Tulu or English. After understanding a little bit about butterflies, the visitors are taken around in the garden to see butterflies and host plants.
On request, Sammilan also arranged for a visit to nearby Durga Reserve Forest and Someshwar Wildlife Sanctuary. We got more endemic lifers to our list, Tamil lacewing, Malabar tree nymph, Malabar raven to name a few.
The home cooked food by Aunty was such a relief to eating outside food every time we travel. We had both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food options. It was first time I was getting to taste some local delicacies. Not to miss the lovely coffee in pouring rains.
Sammilan Sir is very hospitable, we did not feel a thing amiss in the three day stay in Belvai. I bow to this personal interest and endeavour in talking about conservation through butterflies. Coming time will prove, this definitely has a far reaching effects.
(Ps: It should not be called a park, it’s all wilderness and madness around with butterflies, especially when you see Papilio Buddha, the Clippers and the Southern Birdwings!!!)

Panamburu Beach proved to be a delightful experience for our family. With the convenience of auto rickshaws and local buses, reaching the beach was effortless. The availability of food and nearby washrooms added to the family-friendly atmosphere. Renowned for its cleanliness, it provided a pristine setting for our outing. From engaging in adventure activities to horse riding, there was something for every family member. The beach's operational hours from 8 am to 7 pm allowed us ample time to soak in the scenic beauty and create lasting memories together. A well-rounded destination that offered both relaxation and excitement for our family.

It's white sand beach located north of Mangalore, u can reach within 30 mins from Mangalore city centre. Nice beach, but people are not maintaining it, they come do party on beach and dump all thrash there itself. So people r responsible for for spoiling such a beautiful beach.

One of the beautiful beaches I've been to. It's clean but also crowded at the same time. We went to the far end which was peaceful and had very less people. There's food places near the entrance. Best spot to just relax and chill with friends & family. Listening to the relaxing sounds of the waves, you won't realize the passing of time. And the sunsets are amazing to watch from here. Not to forget the cute baby crabs haha

The beach is very nice and located just on the side of Mangalore port. If you will be lucky then you may witness a big cargo ship which will be heading towards Port or from the port to the Arabian sea.
There are lot of snacks available there and there are camel and horse ride available.
One more thing which we liked about this beach is the seats which are in the beach so you can rest there and enjoy the breeze of sea.

Beautiful clean beach with soft white sand, well maintained that one can enjoy with family and friends. You have horse and camel rides options here. Looks like boat rides and parasailing options also available here. Floating bridge is also available at a change of Rs.150 per person. Parking facility at Rs.40 entry fee.

A good beach for the whole family with a lot of activities. You could also have a good view of the sunset and ships entering New Mangalore Port. There was a wait for nearly 20 minutes at the level cross just before the beach for the goods train to pass.

I visited the beach during weekday and it was not crowdy. Beach was clean and I could spend some quiet time during sunset. Many food stalls are available. Ample parking space is also available. It's a beautiful beach to witness sunset.

It's a free beach. It was very crowded when I visited. Lots of people enjoying the water activities. They have built a floating bridge, there was a huge line. It seems thrilling. There are a lot of food options available. The sunset was great too. I walked from the nearby city bus stop(Panamburu Beach) and it's around 20-30 mins walk. There was heavy traffic when I was there, and parking seemed full too so keep this in mind while planning.
Shreenidhi — Google review
I had been here to experience the floating bridge, and it was really good being there. They charge 150/- per person for about 15-20 mins of time to spend. Even the safety precautions were good, we were provided with life jackets and even the life guards around there were active and alert. But, the beach might need a little cleanliness awareness. Apart from that the beach has good food options too, along with a Washroom facility that really needs maintenance.

It is the most popular, well connected and the most visited beach of Karnataka. In Manglore City
Panambur beach is about 10 km (6.2 mi) north of Mangalore city center and comes under the administration of Mangalore City Corporation. It is maintained by a private enterprise under the banner of Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project.
Attractions include jet ski rides, boating, dolphin viewing and food stalls. Trained lifeguards patrol the beach to ensure visitor safety.
This beach is popular for its sunsets, the port area and picnic spot. The ships anchored out in the sea waiting for berth in the harbor can be seen from the beach.

Waterfalls
Bucolic natural area featuring cascading waterfalls & pools in dense forest surrounds.
It's a nice small and beautiful waterfall and is less than 15 kms from Shringeri town. It is easily accessible and it's good to sit and spend some time nearby the falls. Do not expect a big waterfall as this one is certainly not. The water is cold enough to give a refreshing experience once you wet your legs!!

Location of the water falls is good.. But people who visit this place, literally spoil it. I wonder how can people carry shampoo and take bath in such a beautiful tourist attraction? Forest guards are present only to sell tickets but none of the person present near the water falls to stop people from littering or using shampoo. This is a natural tourist spot and the same water goes to all other places and people also drink the same water. Travel responsibly and keep the places clean.

There are several viewing platforms from where you can get a stunning view of the falls and take good pictures. There’s a entry fee of 50/- rs per head for adults and 50% less for kids. A couple of hotels are available at the parking place.

Scenic Waterfall
As the title reads, waterfall is beautiful to watch.
Costs 50 for adult and 20 for children.
Bad that we humans visit such places as a relief from our day to day life. Yet we throw garbage spoiling even these beautiful places. Even the forest officers don't seemed to enquire if we are carrying any plastic.
I request those who plan to go here and might have come across my post. Let's step away from the herd and be a responsible human by not littering in such places.
Thanks

I'll never travel to Udupi without this trip planner again
Built in the 15th century, this soaring Jain statue stands 40 ft. tall on its hilltop perch.
This tranquil place is a fusion of ancient art and spirituality, with an entry fee of only 20. You can even ride your bike or drive your car right up to the main entrance.

42 ft tall Jain statue built in 1400s. One of the tallest statues in India. Made entirely of 1 stone. Located on a Hill.
You can directly take your car on top. But sometimes the gate is closed so do call them and let them know.
Another way, is by climbing the steps. There are some 120 steps so avoid climbing when the sun is on top.

You can either trek here or use the route on the back side to climb by car, you need to pay Rs.50 for parking. You get a nice view from here, strictly recommended to go before 10 am or post 4 PM to avoid scorching sun. There is no place to sit in shade, once you reach the top and there is no eateries available too. Restrooms are there and not that clean.

A huge statue which you can visit along the way while your on a long trip. The statue was installed in the year 1432. Theres is a flight of stairs before you enter. You will need to remove your footwear before entering. Once you enter, the wind pretty much dies down and theres a certain quiet mysterious aura at the area where the statue is kept.

There won't be any water / good available on the top so please do carry some if you need be.

The statue stands in a height of 42 feet with a stone platform of 5 feet. What makes it distinct from other iconography is the creepers and ant hills on his legs and arms. One can find some of the statues of other Jain saints around the shrine. The statue has the features like elongated ears, long arms, three folds on the neck, curly hair etc. Along with the green landscape around the statue, one can also find a with in absolute symmetrical structure. It is a 16th century Jain temple in the name Chaturmukha Basadi with four beautifully carved gates on all four sides. The walls are beautifully carved with Jain related sculptures. From the temple, the Bahubali statue is visible till its waist. Timings 8am to 8pm

Jolly beach is on the shore of the Arabian Sea and a lighthouse. Many films have been shot at this location. Kaup has three Marigudi which attracts devotees from far away places. The sea is much more rougher and intimidating compared to the gentler Malpe beach in Udupi. It is about 15 km from the university town of Manipal and is a favorite hangout for the students. The beach also sports a shack and a bar with seating in the open sky. Though the sea is mostly calm all year round, there have been isolated cases of drowning in this beach.

The view of sunset from light house is amazing. There also is ferry which leaves to island periodically. The staff tries to keep the beach very clean but visitors don't respect it and throw trash. The beach is free to visit. The car parking near by costs 20-30 rupees. Food cost is nominal. Beach toys are available in shops. The ATV rides and few more games available at beach. This stunning beach is known for its natural beauty, crystal-clear waters, and soft sands.
Kaup or Kapu beach is surrounded by rocky cliffs and lush greenery, providing a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The best time to visit is during the months of October to May, when the weather is pleasant and the sea is calm for swimming.
There are a couple of palm-thatched shacks and restaurants serving delicious seafood and refreshing drinks. You can also indulge in some water sports activities like scuba diving snorkeling and so on but you will have to get prior approvals from the local authorities first.
If you want to relax and unwind, you can lie down on the beach and enjoy the stunning views, or take a dip in the sea and feel the cool breeze. The highlight of this beach is its 100 (built in 1901) year old light house which is a glaring monument takes us back in time.
Avoid visiting this beach on weekends, from monday to - friday the beach is mostly empty and a bliss.
Overall, Kapu beach is a fantastic destination for those seeking a break from their hectic routine and want to experience the beauty of nature.

Absolutely loved our visit to Kapu Beach in Udupi! The beach is simply stunning with its clear sand, making it perfect for a leisurely stroll. The cleanliness of the beach was impressive, creating a pleasant environment for everyone. The iconic lighthouse adds a touch of charm to the landscape, and the backdrop of swaying coconut trees enhances the coastal beauty. The breathtaking sunset is a sight to behold, and spending a couple of hours here with family was pure bliss. If there's a chance to enter the lighthouse, that would be the cherry on top of an already amazing experience. Highly recommended for a serene and memorable beach outing!

Kapu Beach, a coastal gem along the southwestern shores of India, offers an enchanting blend of history, natural beauty, and modern amenities. During my visit in the winter season, I was captivated by the timeless allure of this destination, where the sun-kissed sands and the rhythmic waves create an atmosphere that transcends seasons.
One of the standout features of Kapu Beach is its historical lighthouse, a majestic structure that has stood the test of time. What sets it apart is its functionality - the lighthouse is not merely a relic of the past but an active beacon guiding ships safely through the Arabian Sea. The opportunity to witness this working piece of history adds a unique and fascinating layer to the overall experience.
The beach itself boasts a beautiful atmosphere, characterized by the gentle lull of the waves and the soft caress of the coastal breeze. The tranquility of Kapu Beach creates a sense of calm that envelops visitors, making it an ideal spot for those seeking relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Exploring the seashore, I marveled at the breathtaking rock formations that adorn the coastline. These imposing stones, weathered by time and the elements, add a dramatic and picturesque element to the seascape. Climbing atop some of these rocks provided a panoramic view of the azure sea, making it a must-visit spot for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike.
Near the beach, a variety of food courts offer a delightful culinary experience. From local seafood delicacies to international flavors, the diverse options cater to every palate. Enjoying a sumptuous meal with the soothing sounds of the sea in the background enhanced the overall sensory experience of my visit.
Despite the winter season, Kapu Beach exuded a warmth that made it feel like summer. The golden sands and the sun setting over the horizon created a stunning visual spectacle. The beach's charm extends into the evening, making it an ideal location for photographers and cinematographers. The interplay of light and shadow, coupled with the scenic backdrop, provides a canvas for capturing moments of beauty and tranquility.
In conclusion, Kapu Beach is a multifaceted destination that seamlessly combines history, natural beauty, and modern amenities. The working lighthouse, serene atmosphere, culinary delights, and stunning rock formations make it a haven for travelers seeking a well-rounded coastal experience. Whether you are a nature enthusiast, food connoisseur, or a photography enthusiast, Kapu Beach offers a timeless escape that leaves a lasting impression.

Kaapu beach and lighthouse are absolutely fantastic. A must visit if you are in Udupi. The beach has fine white sand and there are water games too. The lighthouse is towards the right side of the beach. You can also see the river streams merging with the sea here around the lighthouse. Entry to the lighthouse costs 10 rs per adult. The stairs are curving and maybe difficult to climb for some. The last part of the stairs is a very steep climb for around 20 steps. The views are worth the climb. You can see miles into the sea and the backwaters and the beach. There is are food stalls for snacks and toilets at the entry to the beach. Car parking space is sufficient and cost rs. 20.

Kapu Beach Lighthouse was built in 1901 by the East India Company. The total height of the lighthouse is 27.12m.
The lighthouse is open to public in the evening except during monsoon season. The closest busstand is Kapu and one can board a rickshaw from the bus stop to reach the beach.
There are plenty of water sports held in the beach and tourists can experience the rides at affordable costs. Plenty of shops around the beach premises selling eatables. Road to the beach is very narrow and the parking space is limited.

At a distance of 16 km from Udupi, Kaup Beach is a beautiful beach situated close to NH17 between Udupi & Mangalore. It is one of the must include places in Udupi Tour Packages, and among the best beaches near Bangalore.
Kaup Beach is one of the famous beaches in Karnataka where tourists enjoy the beauty of the environment, the long stretches of golden sands, and the cool sea breeze. The beach is covered by palm groves. There is a lighthouse here, constructed in 1901, which is open every day for an hour from 5.30 AM. The delightful view of the entire seashore and the beach from the lighthouse is every photographer's dream.
Besides the lighthouse, Kaup also has ruins of Jain Basadis that line across the stretch of sand, and these are definitely worth a visit. Kaup is also known for the temple of Goddess Mariamman. There is also an ancient fort located in Kaup which is in ruins now.

Beautiful beach and I felt it's silent then malpe beach.
Crowded but calm.
People were playing in the water, climbing rocks, climbing light houses, playing in sand, busy enjoying refreshing in shops, sitting on the bench and some playing activities like camel ride, kids activities and playing with kite 🪁
They have multiple options for food and refreshing snacks.
This beach is around 5 km away from Kapu junction.
You do have an auto stand who charges 50 rupes to drop you here and pick from the auto point next to entry.
Parking facilities for two and four wheeler are available.

Beautiful peaceful beach. No so crowded! Enjoyed amazing sunset.
Cons : lot of plastic waste/bottles in some areas near beach. It's high time, people should understand their responsibilities towards nature. Its such a beautiful place and needs to be protected.

Cleanest beach of all the beaches in Udupi. Plenty of parking and lot of food options. Consists of lot of play areas for kids. View from lighthouse is too good.
People are chill, water is good, most of all beach is clean which changes the mood completely.
Drive to the beach is great too.
Has a small bathing area too with silent water for kids to enjoy.

Awesome experience we had !!
The beach is different with large rocks all around and the famous lighthouse standing tall at the top of the rocky hillock !!
There's a lot of public transport options available but can be visited by personal vehicles as well. Well maintained parking lots and various stalls for beverages available in the entrance.
The whole beach has been nicely maintained.
Sunset from the beach and from the top of the lighthouse is the most popular activity !!
Great place to visit with family and friends !!

* Highly recommend that you visit in the evenings for sunset.
* If you want, there are some water sports available too!
*The lighthouse is a bonus to get a nice view of the ocean and the villages around. Mesmerizing place!

It's a beautiful and serene beach with a lighthouse. It's not a commercial place and there are no facilities like changing rooms or food stalls. You can see the backwaters and the sea on both sides. If you have enough stamina to walk upstairs the lighthouse, you can experience an amazing view. A public washroom is near the lighthouse but not advisable to use it unless in emergency.

People sit in the long rows and food will be served in steel plates using trolleys. Must eat here once you come for Darshan. Hot food and tasty. If you are late you may miss curry ( banana fry item).

I have had food at many famous temples like Dharmatsala, Tirupathi, Kukke Subramanya, etc. but Udupi Temple have very poor food quality. In the rice serving atleast 15-20 rice bugs was there. We consider this as Prasadam and don’t want to complain. But definitely this quality requires improvement.

Kind of prasasan in the form of food. The devotees are given food free of charges. The serving starts only after a line of people are seated. The plates come in a trolley,. Infact, everything comes in trolleys pulled by the service persons . The plates are to be picked when they go past you. The serving starts with a sweet. Then the rice is served, followed by dal, and finally chaas. The devotees need to give their plates themselves for washing, before washing their hands

Lovely divine place. Bhojan shala were served with piping hot rice and sambhar, paysam and sweets. During festival seasons, the bhojana shala
will be crowded. Daily two times prasadam(lunch) will be provided. Even, you can contribute to the Meal scheme if you are interested.
