It's my First time visit to this Historic devasathana with high vibration feeling. Even if it's bit crowded but well managed and with amazingly clean surroundings and tourists tend to respect that.Clear cut instructions which is very helpful. I feel I am blessed by visiting this temple. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Great initiative by government and temple subordinates to cleanup complete surroundings and demolishing left complete areas to have a great view and clean hygienic places for tourists.
Ample free parking and nice food inside or outside the temple
You have sufficient washroom next to Temple which makes sure of clean places.
A powerful place with all your dreams come true.
Highly recommended place

The temple was a serene sanctuary, steeped in ancient wisdom and tranquility. Intricate carvings adorned its walls, while the scent of incense filled the air. Devotees bowed in reverence, seeking solace and spiritual enlightenment. The sacred atmosphere instilled a profound sense of peace and connection. A truly divine experience. #SacredSanctuary

This place is surrounded by scenic environments, roads connecting to the temple are in good condition. The waiting time in the queue was around 30 to 60 mins, when I visited on a Saturday. The Crowd is more during weekends.
There is a bus stand nearby temple. We will get buses to Mysore, Mangalore etc..
The car parking area is big. . There is a veg hotel near the temple premises, it was good in food quality and hygienic.
There is a separate counter for luggage deposits. It was free of cost. It was useful.
Overall, this temple is a must visit place. Don't miss it.

Had Devine experience being in this temple. The processions and deity idol are celestial. There is very good parking facility and decent places to stay around the temple. Annadanam at the temple is a unique experience. Would suggest people to experience if anyone happens to visit. Food is 👍 great. Good restaurants are available at walkable distance from temple. One can book utsava and seva tickets online. Traditional attire is mandatory for both men and women.

➡️ Temple timings are 7:30AM to 1:30PM and 3:30PM to 8:30PM.
➡️ We reached temple by bikes on road from Namdroling golden temple to here. If you come through the road it will truly be a different level of experience on the road through the jungle and more than 10+waterfalls on the road to here.
➡️ Many hotels are available around temple to stay here at affordable prices.
➡️ No entry ticket needed.

This place is one of the few places where you feel the genuine positive vibrations when you’re in the temple radar. Such a beautiful and powerful temple where Subrahmanya blesses each and every one who steps inside the campus.
We went during holiday season and it was pretty crowded. Good for kids and family friendly.
Parking is also available nearby to the temple.

Positive vibes in the temple surroundings and very near to bus stand. Male devotees are not allowed with the shirt and baniyan. Free luggage and footwear stands are available in the temple premises. No special darshans are available. More crowded in the weekends. Ghat road is very scenic and on the way try to stop at bisile view point which is very beautiful.

A powerful place. The Temple premises has been well planned which gives good view of the scenic nature around. Darshan timings are comfortable for devotees. It will be till 1.30PM from morning. Stretches to 2PM if there is much crowd. Again it starts from 3.30PM.Litttle crowded in weekend. Also River premises are well maintained. A truly powerful temple and will definitely feel blessed.

This richest temple of Karnataka is a must visit place if one is planning a pilgrim tour. Set against the backdrop of the picturesque Western Ghats, this divine place Kukke Shree Subrahmanya Temple is visited by thousands and thousands of pilgrms every day. The influx of devotees is overwhelming during holiday season. So it is always better to make an off-season visit between January and March as the pilgrim rush will be relatively less and we can visit the shrine conveniently

Nice traditional.
Free food.
If you leave footwear outside temple. The staff will automatically take them and put in the stand.
Should not wear shirt.
Better to go with doti.

The best place which is surrounded by the thick forest. The rooms are available for the pilgrims who want to halt but they can be booked offline only, the rooms are provided for the family of Max 12-15 members. They provide free service of luggage storing while entering the temple and also separate areas are preserved for footwear too. It was a very neat area and as usual men pilgrims are required to remove the shirt & banian while taking the Swami darshan. The Prasad package will be given for the pilgrims who pay for it not for all. Even the anna Prasad is also provided for the Prasad recipients only. All types of sevas can be done by making online payment. You can reach out to this temple via train as well "Subrahmanya road (SBHR)" is the train stop which is just 20mins away from the temple. The trains are available for those who are coming from Bangalore, Mangalore etc.
Note: Photography is strictly prohibited inside the temple.

An outstanding spiritual destination and one of Karnataka's must visit temple!
The temple carries lot of significance and most prominent for Sarpa dosha parikara pooja.
The temple is located amidst hills, beautiful ambience and well maintained premises offer good positive experience to the devotees. Evening Bandi pooja is also very special in the temple where the Urchavar is taken around the temple couple of times in a pallak.
Prasadam is available at a cost of Rs.100, which includes a small bottle of thertam water.
There are several lodges, hotels and restaurants around the temple premises.
Less than a Km walkable distance from main bus stand.
There was traditional folk based dance/drama song recital of Ramayanam when we had visited. It was a great visual experience.
Hot during Summers and crowded during holidays/weekends.
Balaji Kannan — Google review
It was very crowded as we had visited during govt holidays so it would be easy to have a prior booking of the rooms in Kukke subhramanya swamy temple of planning to visit on holidays and it is better to purchase tickets online for pujas as there was so huge line at the ticket counter early in the morning at 4am. The ticket counter opens exactly at 6am so people stand in line before the time. Some puja tickets are available online and for other pujas should purchase at the temple ticket counter.

The temple which is giving relief to so many people having dosha..ie making people to live peacefully The atmosphere is very good for people from city as well people from rural enjoy the simplicity.
Ragu raman — Google review
A religious place to cleanse your soul & mind. Calm & quiet. The temple is always filled with devotes from all across the country. Surely people are always eager to get the darshan of the deity first so pushing around happens. The prasadam is simple yet nice & free for all.
Girish Rao — Google review
Best temple to visit during all time. There's Kumaradhara River which is 2.3km away from the Subrahmanya swamy temple, a place where you can take bath and go to temple for dharshana. Temple is well maintained by the management but people should keep it clean as there're so many slippers scattered here and there, there's separate place allocated for slippers which is well maintained and free of cost.
Best place to visit with family and friends.

Positive Beliefs of this temple are strong. As I went on Sasti day, one can expect long queues and untidy places as Hindu pilgrims still don't bother for cleanliness. But when you enter the Abode you forget everything.

Mallalli Falls is a picturesque natural area that offers visitors the chance to witness multi-tiered waterfalls set amidst stunning lush scenery. While the falls are truly amazing, access to them requires descending over 700 steps, which can be a thrilling experience for some but may not be recommended for elderly individuals. Due to safety concerns and several fatalities in the past, the government has implemented strict restrictions around accessing and playing near the falls.
This is an amazing waterfalls. The journey to the falls will surely tire you, but it's definitely worth the visit. You will have to climb down around 800 steps to reach the falls. Sometimes the entry will be restricted during heavy water season. You can ask about it with shopkeepers at the parking area before you climb down. Best time to visit would be September to December.
Shreekesh Udupa — Google review
The falls is one of the top falls in Karnataka. Must visit in monsoon. The water level is extremely good and treat to your eyes. There are steps on the way to the falls, and be careful on the leaches out there. In monsoon, umbrella and raincoat are must to visit the falls. Also try to bring another set of clothes as a extra precaution. There are no good food options available nearby. Kushalnagar is one of the options for food.
It is a must visit place in monsoon.
Koushik Banerjee — Google review
Worth getting down those steps to witness a wonderful view.
Visit only in Winter or at the end of rainy seasons.
Car parking fees as of today is 60/-
You will get snacks and coffee/tea near the parking lot.
Better to download offline maps for ease.
amar bhargav — Google review
This almighty fall looks very beautiful during monsoon. It gives an amazing view from different view points.
No entry fees to enter the fall. Paid Parking is available. There are eateries outside so no problem with food and water.
There are many steps which we need to take to reach to the bottom of waterfall. But you cannot go near waterfall or swim or play. You can view it from fence. It gets difficult and tiring for elders to climb up and back steps.
Better to go early morning or evening to avoid crowd and sun.

Majestic falls beautiful.. u can visit the place for free only parking charges are there. Place has 700 steps and is dog friendly. U can not go near the falls but can enjoy the view

Mallalli falls is beautiful,we had been last week, the water levels is less, we are not allowed to play in the waterfalls.
One has to get down some 600+ stairs and climbing would be a big challenge,so plan accordingly. Keep yourself hydrated.
There are 03 stalls near the entrance of the waterfalls, basic snacks, juice and limited flavoured rice items one can expect.
Parking space is available and a minimum entry fees is taken.
Washroom facility is available but condition can be better.
The best time to visit is during Monsoon season to witness the beauty of the waterfalls.
Maithra Meti — Google review
The water falls are Amazing. We have to step down 700 + steps , is so thrilling. The Govt has put restrictions down as few people died. Even it is not safe to go to waterfalls to play with . The force of waterfalls is very huge hence fencing has put.
The waterfalls are looking good throughout your trekking down. This may not be suggested for elderly people .
We visited on 20th Nov 2021

The place is very beautiful. The water fall is a blessing to the eyes. Went in mid November, the water was less but still it is very mesmerizing. There around 600-650 steps which you need to take for reaching the waterfall. Swimming is not allowed. Fencing is done so that you can see it from a distance. There is ample parking space available. A few shops are also available with snacks. Beware of the goons in the name of tourist police there.

Very beautiful place to visit during monsoons. Have to walk about 30 steps for this view. If you want to go very close to the falls you will have to get down about 600+ steps. We did not go much further as it was raining. Will definitely visit again sometime during monsoon.

Beautiful Place to Visit. Have to go down the steps to get the proper view of the waterfall. Better to go in morning or evening since there are steps to climb while returning from the falls. There are parking fees and also some shops are also available at the parking spot.

Magnificent waterfalls yet very dangerous . Water Cascades through the rocks creating shower of waterdrops on you if you stand in front of it. Need to climb down 600 steps to witness the beauty from near .The falls is fenced through entire viewing area due to its dangerous nature as the waterflow may rise at anytime .Many people have lost their lives here so they have taken strict measures to prevent any accidents.

Absolutely gorgeous, must visit if you're in Sakleshpur....
You would have to walk(stairs) for 20-30 minutes to the waterfalls, could be tiring for older people but surely is worth that.
Usually open for all everyday, best time to visit this place would be in Monsoon, the waterfalls will have increased water flow.
You wouldn't have to worry about parking either...

Nice place to spend a weekend. After parking the vehicle one should walk down 750 steps to grab this beauty on your eyes 😍. Returning back will be a task though.. 🙄
Note: Tourists must not throw the waste water bottles and plastic wrappers in the premises. Authorities should increase the no.of dust bins as well. They are taking Rs. 50 parking charges (4W) for nothing..

Such a mind-blowing view of the waterfall,,,
The real essence of nature could be experienced there. There are lot of homestays nearby and some of the homestays will be having trekking facilities there ....
Best time to visit is from June to December (water flows through the falls throughout the year)
Enjoy your monsoon vibes here
Don't forget to reach there before 5:00 pm coz the guards won't allow you inside after 5:00 pm
Rakshith Prakash — Google review
one of the best waterfalls in india. Visit early trek down through the steps and witness the magic of monsoon.
Try visiting early in the morning around 8 AM to avoid crowds.
waterfalls is fenced near the plunge due to multiple deaths over the year so don't expect to swimming and other crazy things.
Roads are too good and food is also available near parking.
manjunath nagaraj — Google review
Beautiful waterfall view point not allowed to take bath and go near to the water.
TT parking at top of the mountain. Charge would be 100rs. Trip down to falls is long and around 600 steps in stairs. Coming back will be tiresome. Pack water. Gives u good trekking experience.
Elderly people can avoid going all the way down. There is view from up top within 100steps.
There are shops near entry point that sells snacks, drinks and fast food at higher price.
Arunbhaarat — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous.
The road to the waterfall is full of greenery and flowers.
Visited this in December and still it was having good water flow. No wait time.
Requires a 15 min trekking through the stairs. But best to visit in Monsoon to
experience the absolute best greenery.
Small shops are on the top for snacks and drinks. Washroom is there bt the condition can be bit better.

have to pay for the parking, we paid 60/- for the car, 20/- for bike i guess. visited on the off season, a cool place to visit if your nearby rather than all the other popular places. had fun time while descending and climbing those 1200 steps (up and down). wish there was some space to sit and enjoy the view of the falls, we used the stairs anyways, but would have been cool if there's some space dedicated for it.
Kalyankumar_03 — Google review
Worth visiting, fantabulous waterfall with picturesque views. The walk is a bit tiring - while reaching the spot, you go 600 steps down, but while returning back, it might need significant efforts. Not advisable for those with low stamina, joint pain, elderly.

Pure nature but the trek while getting down the stairs and climbing it again more than 45 years of adults is not at all recommended.
We enjoyed the trek while getting down and enjoyed the awesome view of the water falls one of the most recommended places to visit but a little hard while climbing back the hill and the stairs are too high
Over all worth watching the view here are few glimpse of the waterfalls which are captured by myself.
Pawan Dongare L — Google review
Don't visit if you are going in winter and summer season. Because there is less water flow and you have to see waterfall from very far. You cannot step in water.
I think waterfall must look more beautiful in rainy season.

Beautiful Falls. You got to go down around 500+ Steps. But unfortunately its fenced and its hard to get a Good look at the Falls once you reach the End of Stairs. Would be Good if Govt make some arrangement to have a good view of the Falls.
Remains of a unique star-shaped fort built on a mountain in 1792 by Tipu Sultan.
Awesome tourist destination. If you have drone camera it will be a best site for photography. Photos on star edges will give you unique experience. You can visit this place any season but prefer visiting between August to February. Because the nature is at its peak. Their will be a drizzling and cool weather would make you feel energetic. You need to walk of stepup to reach the destination.
Pradeip Raj — Google review
The top view of the fort shows it as a star shaped fort just a few kilometers from Sakleshpura. You need to park your car on road side and walk some 200 meters till you find the steps to climb.
There are more than 250 steps to climb before you reach the entry gate. Entry is in fact free. There are 2 dungeons inside the fort which are very small. The view of western ghats from the fort is awesome.
Overall, it will be nice visit to the fort specially in the winter season.

Okay to visit but not much is there other than broken walls. In actual its not looks like that what we search in Google and saw in pics. Not at all recommended for old age people as it required very long stairs to climb up.
If weather is good then you can enjoy views from top but try to avoid in summer.

A star shaped fort located at the cliff. I need to climb a few steps to reach the top, which could be tiring during summer weather. It is very nice to see the star based architecture and the centre well. View towers at the eight wing end. Better to visit during mild weather to avoid the tiredness.

Nice place- but access to it bit tough- lots of stairs to reach, but the area is under construction (hoping to have better access soon).
But good structural historical place of must visit.

It's a ok place not that great. You have to take around 200 steps to reach there and if it's hot then it would be unbearable on the top. Better to go there after rainy season or evening time. No parking area we need to park on the road side. No entry fee, timing 8 to 5

Nice fort with a good view of the surrounding sights. Being used mostly for keeping an eye on the aggressors entering the kingdom, it is not a very large fort but has a lot of watch towers for a view in different directions.
PS: It has quite a few flight of stairs which might make it a little difficult to access for the aged or people with arthritis etc.
Kshitiz Devgan — Google review
The fort, as built and existing, is an eight-pointed star. Pathway which is leading to entrance steps is under construction when we visited
There are nearly 150-200 steps to climb, it has amazing views from top, it’s crowded on the weekends. View from the top is beautiful, lush green mountains all around.

Located in such a scenic place yet not maintained well by the govt. there's a lot of room for improvement with regards to tourism.. There's no information hoardings regarding the history of the fort.. I didn't see it anywhere(if its there).. U should park ur vehicles side to the National Highway.. I think there's no management only

There are around 200-250 stairs to climb to get to the entry of the fort.

Great place to see, Tipu sultans fort for the military.
Can find how they strategically built this fort with hideouts, self equipped built in rain water sump, and much more.
Seems good photoshoot location if less crowded. Can spend 30 to 40 minutes inside. Might have to climb stairs for about 20 mins.

One of the famous tourist place to visit once if you are planning to Sakleshpur side. It is Nice fort with good landscape view but unfortunately not properly maintained and lot of littering around the place. One needs to initially walk for 500 meters and then climb steps of around 250-300 steps to reach the fort. There is limited parking space on the road and few stalls/shops for quick snacks or juices. Overall Ok to visit once if you haven't seen it yet.

Awesome place where we can see the best architecture of a mankind with a limited source. Shape of the fort is perfect star shapes without any errors, we need to be fit to reach the fort because we need to climb more than 400 steps and 1km in height. Main gate of the fort open at 8:00 am, parking facility is too bad, we need to reach location early otherwise we unable to get the nearby parking. Eatables and plastic bags are not allowed. People already started to ruin this place.

If you visit, be aware that there are approximately 250 steps to climb. No detour is required because it is right on the major highway. The fort is truly beautiful, evoking a bygone period.
It is disappointing to see that the government is not investing in turning this into a tourist destination by adding information via boards or audio/visuals. They could make some money off of this, but at least they would be educating visitors about the area's illustrious past.
Sumit Ranjan — Google review
Fort is good. Be ready to climb some 300 odd stairs to reach the fort. Climbing is very steep. No entrance charges. It closes sharp at 5pm and security will force you out by 5:30. Views from the fort is good but not maintained properly by the authorities At least the grass and wild weeds should be cut. Apart from that the fort is very beautiful and yes it definitely holds some past with it.

Beautiful place. Good for photography, so many spots to click your pics :) If you have a drone you can easily capture this star shaped fort! No entry fees. Have many steps, but you will not feel any difficulty while coming back. The place is nearby the highway, and opens at 8 am.

Visiting Manjarabad Fort was truly enchanting! Nestled amidst the lush Western Ghats, this historical gem captured my heart. The journey to the fort was an adventure, with winding roads revealing the breathtaking natural beauty around every turn. Its distinctive star-shaped architecture added a sense of grandeur to its historical importance. However, I couldn't locate any restroom facilities, and parking was a bit challenging as we had to park on the roadside along the busy Sakleshpura highway.

Nice fort with a scenic view, unfortunately tourists have ruined the place, it's not maintained properly...
Around 250 to 200 steps to climb, steps are manageable with kids ( number sounds big but we didn't face any trouble from kids while climbing).
Roadside parking facility and few ahops/hotels for quick snacks.

The fort doesn't require a ticket or parking charges. There is a long walk of around 30 mins to reach and includes around 100 stairs.
Quite a large area to roam around, if the weather is clear you can even see the Arabian Sea with a good lens.
You can carry your pets along, but definitely keep them on leash.
There are quite a few eateries near the fort entrance, but beware of monkeys.

The fort's unique star-shaped architecture adds a touch of grandeur to the historical significance it holds.

Rajendra Kumar — Google review
Nice Fort but proper maintenance will be value Addition with lightings. It will be more lively during rainy days I believe.
There should be some sort of arrangement with aerial view which gives more value to visitors.
The Shettihalli Rosary Church, a Gothic structure constructed by French missionaries during the 1860s, can be found in a picturesque waterside location. Road access is decent; however, some sections of the road are uneven and require parking one's vehicle on the side of the road and walking for roughly five minutes to reach the destination. The best time to visit is in the evening when you can enjoy stunning sunset views and refreshing breeze.
Since it is not a proper commercialized tourist spot, the road reaches around 300m away from the spot. From there, you can take your vehicle off-road or walk. There aren't much things to see inside or out, the church itself is a treat to the eyes.
Recommended timing: Mornings or evenings
There are no shops close by except maybe one or two sugarcane juice carts.

Road connectivity is good, roads are not too good there are some patched,
once you reach there You have to park your vehicle on the road and have to walk for 5 minutes to reach the destination
Try to visit during the evening, you can see the colorful sky and feel the cool wind.
There is not much to see but a good place to take some photos.
Usually fishermen come there to ask for a coracle ride for 100 or 150 rps, i prefer to avoid that, because they are not permitted to take you on the coracle as well there is no life jackets, they come there to make some small money but be cautious about what you choose, I'm writing this because I have took that ride for 150 rsp but didn't felt safe
Prarthan Ramesh — Google review
Really a good place to go with your family or friends, consider going after 3 in noon or for the sunset.
It's just old place in the river side or banks.
You can also go boating here which costs 100-150 per person.
The place is always open to visit. During rainy season the church submerges under water to the tip so better visit it in summer or around. You don't have to worry about parking either.

This century old abandoned church is a magnificent structure located on the banks of Hemavathi river. It is a famous tourist spot and the church submerges during the monsoon and water level recedes during the summer. Parking is not available, but can park the vehicle on the road side and walk towards the church in the mud road for about 500 meters.

Splendid place to spend the evening. Don't expect a beautiful sunset, since an nearby bridge obstructs the view. I don't recommend getting into water since it seems dangerous. Best place to visit is in weekdays. In the weekends lot of crowd gathering will be there

It's a Gothic church in ruins frequented by mostly photographer community. The construction of the dam and reservoir makes it unique with the surrounding areas (and also the church in rains) under water. You can take a detour from Hassan and visit it on the way to other parts of Karnataka. Will not recommend it as main attraction . Looks better in pictures than actual (Alas it's a prey to those lovebirds with an innate zeal of proclamation and no sense of heritage or architecture). Good for testing your framing skills though.

Nice place to visit once. Good to visit during the afternoon and early evening time. Might get spooky during the late hours. No houses or colonies near the location. Seems to be a place to wonder about its origin, civilization and the history around it.
There are few vendors, who sell water, juice and snacks in portable vehicles. Saw a party having their pre Wedding shoot.
Can go there by car and bike. No tickets necessary. Maybe they should recognise it as a tourist spot and maintain it.
It's just a beautiful wreck which is not monitored by authorities and is abandoned to go unnoticed by the majority.

I never knew a ruins can be so beautiful and still standing strong in water.
Best spot for photo shoots nice scenery.
Best time to visit is summer. This is submerged in water during rainy season.
Ample car parking space. Small shop is also available for water and cold drinks but I recommend take your snacks and drinks along with you.
Well connected to road vehicles go right next to this place. No tickets required.
Can see lot of plastic bottles and covers thrown out. Please avoid dumping waste here when you visit.

Beautiful photogenic place situated at the backwater of Hemavathi reservoir. The road leading to the place is not in good shape. So drive carefully. When the Hemavathi reservoir is full, the church gets submerged in water and will not be accessible. The best time to visit would be when the water just starts receding, it provides a wonderful backdrop to the church.

Shettihalli Church is located 200km from Bengaluru in Hassan Karnataka. Built in the 1860s by the French missionaries in India, the church is a magnificent structure of Gothic Architecture. After the construction of the Hemavati Dam and Reservoir in 1960 the church was Submerged under water due to the dam, It has since then become a famous tourist spot where people flock to see the half submerged church during monsoon. It is also known as The Submerged Church and The Floating Church.. These ruins are best visited once during the dry season and again during the monsoons. Its a great site for a photo-op.. ⛪✨

If you are planning an sakleshpura trip, this is a must visit place. If you are visiting this place during the rainy season then you can see this church submerged but if you visit this place during summer you can go inside the church and enjoy the place but the worst part is no maintenance here people come and throw all possible things. And there is one more hidden temple in this place and is not visible to the naked eye, if you are carrying a binocular then if you view the point towards the dam you can sear the top part of the temple tower and again it can be seen only during summer.

No one says you are in Karnataka. Just beautiful Gothic charm Despite the decay, the church exudes a sense of history and mystery that is truly mesmerizing. It's a place where time seems to stand still, inviting contemplation and reflection amidst its fading grandeur.

Ruins of an old church. Large parts of the structure have collapsed due to constant flooding and no maintenance and many of the walls are defaced by visitors. However it's still nice to visit. You can ride all the way up to the church on cars or bikes. There's ample parking. When the water levels are down, you can even ride into the church ruins. There is also a nice view from the bridge across the reservoir. The approach roads from Hassan highway are scenic, but pass through villages, so you need to ride carefully. No stalls available near the spot, so need to bring sufficient water along

It's a nice place to visit if you are nearby or visiting areas around. It is a remote location so don't expect any shops or other amenities in the near vicinity. You can easily spend 2-3 hrs looking around and appreciating the beauty of ruins/remains of this ancient structure. And can spend some time near the lake shore. It has some excellent silhouettes and will definitely be intriguing for the photographers as it provides a perfect backdrop for photoshoots. Also roads leading to this place are well maintained so shouldn't be a problem reaching there. Try to visit in the early morning or evening as sunsets and sunrises are definitely something you would love to watch.
Would have given 5 stars if it could be a little cleaner or maintained.

Shettihalli Rosary Church – Shot on Samsung
This is one of those very rare French Gothic architecture that we can get to see in Karnataka, A fascinating ruin, a romantic shoot location for a few while for some localites of Hassan do believe it to be still haunted! Haha.. Built by French Missionaries in 1860s was unfortunately submerged with the construction of Hemavati Dam & Reservoir.
Bangalore – Hassan road is a feast to ride on, it’s about 25kms from Hassan & once you deviate from NH 75 you shall enter narrow country roads which are pretty well maintained & it’s a short ride of 20mins or lesser before you reach the backwaters to this so called haunted yet enigmatic ruins.
Have fun & ride safe comrades..

This church deserves to be one of the top tourist spots in Karnataka. The church though in ruins look very majestic. Just like the historic ruins seen abroad. It's an excellent picnic spot as well! The location is very calm and serene. Would recommend to carry drinks/eatables as there are none nearby. Hope this will be preserved by the government.

If you are nearby Hassan or in that way then you might take this decision to visit this place.
Just a relaxing place and nothing much there.
No traces of complete history of the church, infrastructure completely shattered.
One can visit this places two time a year- monsoon and post monsoon.
During monsoon the church will be submerged in water to some extent and post that one can roam around the church.
This church is near a water body and next time to visit is during sunrise or sunset and the view is amazing.
No stalls available, no washroom or anything there.
Good place for photo shoot.

Really nice place and great church ruins. it could be made up really good tourist place! the church is more than 100years old. such structure should be protected and atleast boundary marked so as to not find beer bottles and plastic all around it. The Hoysaleswara Temple in Halebidu, Karnataka, India, is a mesmerizing masterpiece of ancient Indian architecture. Constructed during the 12th century under the Hoysala Empire, this temple is a testament to the architectural brilliance of that era.
The Hoysaleswara Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu and stands as an outstanding example of Hoysala architecture, characterized by its intricate stone carvings. The temple complex comprises two shrines, one for each deity, and is surrounded by a large courtyard.
The exterior of the temple is adorned with an astounding array of finely detailed sculptures. These intricate carvings depict scenes from Hindu mythology, stories from the Ramayana and Mahabharata, divine beings, animals, and intricate floral motifs. The level of detail is breathtaking, showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship and artistry of the Hoysala artisans.
One of the remarkable features of this temple is the lathe-turned, star-shaped pillars. These pillars are known for their precision and elegance, with each one boasting unique carvings that are remarkably well-preserved despite the passage of centuries.
The temple's architecture follows a trikuta (triple shrine) plan with intricately carved shikharas (spires) on top of each shrine. The intricate design and careful symmetry of the temple are awe-inspiring.
Intricacy and artistry are not limited to the exterior; the interior of the temple is equally impressive. The hall leading to the sanctum sanctorum is adorned with ornate pillars and finely carved ceilings, creating an otherworldly ambiance.
The Hoysaleswara Temple stands as a living museum of ancient Indian architecture and art. Its detailed carvings, symmetrical design, and overall grandeur make it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts, art aficionados, and spiritual seekers. A visit to this temple is a journey back in time and a remarkable experience that leaves visitors in awe of the architectural genius of the Hoysala dynasty.

It's a must visit place on the way from Bangalore to Chikmagalur. There are two shivlings and two nandis in the temple, which has a story behind it. The carvings on the walls of the temple are very detailed and fascinating. Make sure you hire a guide to know the place better. The guide charged us Rs.600 for the entire group.

A must visit place if you want to experience the magnificence of ancient architecture. Its amazing to see how people back in those ancient days build such temples and designs. Take pictures, relax. There are good provisions for parking, washroom, and snacks.

The temple is very old and structures on the wall are fascinating, similar to belur temple , the life style of the people at that time are very beautifully carved on the wall and very well maintained by archaeological survey as it is UNESCO world heritage site

A very great pilgrimage, many foreigners visit often. Loved the place, enjoyed a lot, there was no queue as it was Monday. The parking cost of the car was ₹50.

As a UNESCO World Heritage Site the the temple is well deserving. It was amazing to witness the creation and its sculptures so closely. Breathtaking experience and worth visiting if you have a couple of hours to spare. Although, it is suggested that the heritage site should be preserved and cared for as well as one would expect it to be, which is currently lacking.
Mullayanagiri Peak is the highest peak in Karnataka, standing at a height of 1,925 meters. It offers stunning views and houses a summit temple that can be accessed by foot. The peak is a must-visit destination for people who enjoy hiking or trekking and is relatively easy to climb with just 500 steps. Visitors are advised to be cautious about not leaving any waste behind as they enjoy the scenic beauty of this iconic location at sunrise or sunset.
Karnatakas highest mountain peak. It's a beautiful view from the top. To reach this spot, you can either travel from Kemmangundi side or Chickmagalur town and take the route towards Bababudangiri. Google for some reason points to BBgiri and shows some 18km to reach from the mainroad junction where as the fact is it's just about 7km and takes about 30 mins to reach here by car. The road towards the end is scary though, and no barricades in a few spots!! After parking you need to take a uphill walk. This is quiet steep but I've seen even old people do this. It would take no longer than 15 to 20 min to climb to the peak. At the peak, there is a Shiva temple where you can meditate.
The view is beautiful and the sunset looks amazing from here. But recommend don't stay here till dark, else driving becomes scary.
Another big problem during weekends is the parking can become difficult and sometimes crazy drivers could create a deadlock in the narrow road. So be wise while driving.

A place that can give you goosebumps, especially when you are on the driver's seat. The ghat roads when you almost reach the cliff is just breathtaking. It's so beautiful and thrilling at the same time. It's definitely a must visit place when you are in Chikmagalur, as you will witness such an amazing view from the top of the peak.
The roads on the top are very narrow, hardly two cars can fit on the entire path, at some points only one. Also, there is not much protection on the edge of the cliff, so be very very careful while driving and parking the vehicle, don't be in a hurry. Also, there's a temple on the way up from where only smaller vehicles are allowed. So any vehicle bigger than a jeep, like a tempo traveller or mini bus would have to stop at that point. But you will find jeeps available to hire, just to take you to the top area of the peak, from where you can trek a bit if you wish.
The best part was descending the hill, because we were able to witness one of the best sunsets. It felt as if we were so close to heaven. It's really hard to express such a sight in words or even through the lens of a camera, but if you can try, then try being there during the sunset.

Amazing & Mesmerizing place to visit.
* Yellow Taxi Cars are not allowed at the top hence either take Yellow plate Jeep OR Auto OR self driven cars.
* Approx 500 steps of trekking to be done to reach the peak.
* Carry one bottle of water to keep yourself hydrated. Do not carry baggage with you as you will get exhausted climbing stairs.
* If it is cloudy it will reduce the visibility to less than 20 mtrs, if it is sunny it might be hot but you will surely enjoy the view 360 degrees.
* You will get charcoal cooked Corn, sweetcorn, Maggie, Tea and chips to eat at the foot of the hills. Do not expect more than these items to be served at this height.
* You will cross many hair bend pins, small waterfalls, lot of monkeys.
* You can spend unto 2-3 hrs. in this place with family.

Mullayanagiri Peak is the highest peak in Karnataka and its approx 6400 feet above sea level. It's 30km approx from the main city(IG Park). You should go to this place in the early morning. The perfect time to visit this is in the month of September to February. This place is a spectacular attraction in Chikmagalur also known for its jaw-dropping natural beauty.
According to the regional mythology, Tapasvi Mullappa Swamy observed meditation for years at the cave on top of the Mullayanagiri peak. This is the reason why the peak got its present identity. The old Kannada literature, however, relates the term ‘Mullai’ to the forests. The caves at the top of the Mullayanagiri hills are not so deep and have an entrance that directly leads you to the temple’s garbhagudi.
To go up It has total of 450 to 500 steps which will take 20mins to 30mins approx. And while going above you will feel the weather. There is nothing to worry about before going above. You will get the Maggi shops while going up and with that, you might get a few fried rice and murmuri and many more things.

You had to take jeeps to reach there. It was frequently available. Good place for trekking and superb climate. We were sweating a bit because it was an afternoon. Morning time visit would be really a good option. At the top temple is there and you can darshan the god. It wasn't hard to climb. Most of them can climb the hill. Down you can have eatery items. Overall it was a good experience. Nice place to visit with families and friends and just forget all your sorrows and dissolve in the beauty of nature! 😍 Have a great time.

I just loved this place.
Steps go directly to the peak.
I just enjoyed a long walk to the peak to capture the beautiful view.
Peace that your eyes can capture for you, that you cannot store in a hard disk. The view is that beautiful.
The road is a little narrow so you have to be careful with the vehicle you travel in. You could remain blocked in traffic. Weekdays would be my preference to enjoy this beautiful view without any traffic and crowds.

Loved it!! You must go in monsoon season.
The atmosphere was transforming from one to another nature like wind ,mist, slight rain and sun. You can see the entire hills on the opposite side for some time and after that nothing can be seen because of the Fogg. You can go without the jeep as well if you are interested in trekking, there is a separate path for trekking .
On the way you can get Maggie corn etc to eat hot.

Mullayanagiri, the crown jewel of Karnataka, offers an experience that's both exhilarating and serene. The climb to the peak is an adventure in itself. The ghats twist and turn, offering glimpses of the lush green valleys below. Be prepared for narrow roads, but the views are absolutely worth it. The weather at the top is a delightful change from the plains. Even on a warm day, there's a crispness in the air that's incredibly refreshing. The highest point is a short walk from the parking area. The trail is well-maintained and offers stunning views along the way. The view from the top is nothing short of breathtaking. Also plan your visits early to avoid traffic jam

The peak was awesome, there is a check post before 20-25 kms where you have to pay ₹20 for a vehicle and nothing else. Then you will have to pass through winding roads with a gentle gradient , scenery was good, you can reach the top of the peak by walk or by some mode of vehicle. There were local ice creams sold at the top of the peak.

The Sri Veeranarayana Swamy Temple (Trikutaachala) is a notable 12th century Hindu temple built by the Hoysalas in Dorasamudra. The temple houses three shrines dedicated to Veeranarayana, Narasimha, and Krishna which are worshipped daily. The architecture of the temple is exquisite with intricate carvings and magnificent Gopuras. Additionally, the temple boasts ornate stone pillars and elephant statues.
One of the finest sculpted monuments which is unknown to most of the people! If you are visiting Halebidu, you cannot be missing this place.
It's an amazing place which has its own restrictions and once you visit here you don't feel like coming out

This is one of the most underrated temples which is equally or even more magnificent compared to that of Belur and Halebeedu temples. The intrinsic carvings are mesmerizing. The deity sculptures are actually behind the screen and are shown only when requested. The main deity sculpture of Vishnu is placed at the end of the temple and it's very pleasing to watch. Narasimha and Krishna sculptures are on the left and right while you enter but believed to have darshan after you pay a visit to Vishnu.

Astounding, magnificent, breathtaking… I cannot get the right words to describe the architectural beauty of this temple. The intricately detailed sculptures and carvings are awe inspiring. The expertise of the twelfth century architects and artisans who built the temple over one or two generations is to be appreciated for their geometric precision, symmetry and artistic beauty.

Very beautiful temple situated in a peaceful village. The carvings and sculptures in the temple are amazing. Some parts of the temple have got damaged, not sure if it's done by people or happened naturally over time.. But it was very very calm and cool inside the temple and we felt good. It is really disheartening to see that some irresponsible and shameless people have scratched and written their names on the temple pillars in the main mandapa. Will visit the temple again.

It is also a part of hoyasila architecture and this temple has 3 gods Krishna, Narasimha Swamy and veeranarayana swamy but the idols were stunning. But they won't allow you take pictures inside the temple. And priest is not so interested to do the Pooja when devotees arrive in the temple. Then we asked him to open the curtains for every god. Prabhakar Aradalli — Google review
An architectural marvel and a testimony to unparalleled craftsmanship of artisans under royal patronage of Hoysala dynasty.
The temple is little older than the ones in Belur and Halebeedu.
The main deity here is Veeranarayana Swamy and is counted among Panacha Naranyana kshetras (5 temples of lord Narayana) built by Hoysalas kings.
On March 23rd every year sun rays fall directly on fingers of Veeranarayana Swamy after passing through 7 doors. The knowledge of astronomy and geometry of Hoysala times was pretty advanced than we usually think. One can also see the main idol form the entrance door from outside.
The temple houses three shrines and we were told that Venugopal swamy here is awarded the best idol of Krishna in India. All the idols here are made from Saligrama stone.
Another fascinating thing here is shiny pillars. One can almost see their own reflection on these pillars.

Baba Budan giri is a well-known mountain peak featuring a cave shrine dedicated to Baba Budan, a revered Sufi saint from the 1500s who is worshipped by both Hindus and Muslims. It offers an ideal destination for those who love trekking and exploring caves. The trek to this peak covers a distance of around 9-10 kilometers, which can be completed in approximately 5-6 hours in two phases.
Bababudangiri is an amazing trek in the mountains of Chikmagalur, located at a distance of 250 km from Bangalore. It's a very good trek point on the weekends. From here you can see the peaks of Budangiri and Mullayanagiri looming at a distance. Together, the two mountains appear like a crescent moon, therefore known as the Chandra Drona Range.
The Budangiri mountain is also an important pilgrimage for Hindus and Muslims for the legacy of the Sufi saint Baba Budan and the Hindu deity Dattatreya.
Some of the highlights of this trek are- walking on the Blade Ridge on the way to Mullayanagiri, camping and campfire in the forest clearings, ancient cave explorations, and stunning hellscape photography from several viewpoints along the way. The Blooming of the kurinji flowers on the low-lying slopes of the Nilgiris is a rare seasonal attraction in these parts of the hills.
The flowers blossom at an interval of every 12 years, cloaking the entire vicinity in shades of blue, giving the Nilgiri hills its name!

A fine mist rises, creating a refreshing, almost mystical atmosphere. The surrounding forest, with its towering trees and dense vegetation, adds to the enchantment. The roar of the waterfall competes with the chirping of birds and rustling leaves, creating a harmonious symphony of nature. The pool at the base is inviting, tempting me to take a dip in its cool waters. Hebbe Falls is a breathtaking masterpiece of nature, a place where time seems to stand still in the embrace of its beauty.
Consider the 30-minute safari.
Factor in a 10-minute trek to reach Hebbe Falls.
Remember to bring salt due to the potential presence of numerous leeches.

Good place. You have to pay ₹500 per head or ₹4000 for full jeep for Jeep travel, which takes 30 mins to reach the falls. You will have 1:30 hours to spend time. Again go back in same jeep. No restaurant near by

INCREDIBLE place! A must visit! Depending on how safe the waters are, you can literally go stand under the waterfall.
You have to take a jeep to reach the waterfall. They charge ₹500/head and they don't allow any other vehicle beyond the starting point. The ride takes about 30mins but it is very scenic by itself. But the amount is absolutely worth paying.
I visited in July, peak monsoon season. Visibility is low and you can't see the valley on the way to the falls. The waters are more full though, and the waterfall looked majestic.
Beware of leeches though! Do not stray away from the path.

One can reach here by jeep, 500/- person. Nice view on the way. Once you reach the point the jeep driver will stay there for 1 hour. From jeep point to hebbe fall is walking distance approx 800-1000 meter one side that needs to be covered and return back within an hour.
Walking through the forest. We went in the month of November.

Unveiling a hidden gem near Kemmanagundi, Hebbe Falls offers a double dose of adventure. First, navigate a thrilling jeep ride through verdant coffee estates. Then, embark on a short trek that winds through scenic beauty, building anticipation for the grand finale. The reward? A majestic two-tiered waterfall. Immerse yourself in the cool mist, the lush greenery, and the invigorating roar of the water - a perfect escape for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.

Just an awesome place. From the check post, you have to hire a jeep which cost rs.500 per person. Hebbe falls is a 12 km Jeep journey from the forest check post point. The jeep ride is very hectic for aged people because the road is very bad. Young people can handle the jeep ride. We enjoyed this ride very much. The so-called road (🥴) is through the Bhadra Reserve. Visit early, otherwise, the place will become very crowded later and you have to wait for a long to get a jeep.

Waterfall is very good. The 10-15 minutes walk to waterfall is also amazing. Its a 1 day round trip from chikmanglur.
IMP : You can park your pvt vehicles near forest dept checkpoint, but u can ONLY reach there by forest department Jeep. This takes around 1 hr of waiting time, and there are NO food stalls there.

Worth a visit.
I visited on July and it's mild raining. Need to take jeep to reach. Govt price is 590/head there are some private jeeps charging 500/ head but congested. After the jeep ride, need to walk for 2km. The path is very very slippery in rainy time, better have good shoes.
Falls is huge, and have pool like setup. It's good enjoy even for kids.
No change room. And beware of leeches.

Beautiful waterfall in Bhadra Wild life sanctuary. Jeeps charge ₹500 per person for two way trip from the entry point. It's about 40-50 minutes journey by jeep. From morning till afternoon the jeeps are available to visit the waterfalls every 15 minutes and they get 12 people seated in a jeep. One hour and fifteen minutes of time is given to visit the waterfalls and come back after they drop you near the waterfalls. There is another 20 minutes walk through the jungle from jeep drop point to reach the waterfalls.
No washrooms or changing rooms at waterfalls. Hence visitors should change the clothes and use wash rooms at a place where jeep rides start before and after visiting the waterfalls.
Elderly people with back ache should take care because the jeep ride is through rough terrain otherwise the ride is enjoyable through the beautiful forest area.
Also beware of leeches in slow or stagnant waters surrounding the main waterfalls area.
In summer also this waterfalls has plentiful water. The rocks are slippery, but once you carefully pass them and reach below the waterfalls then there is a nice sandy bottom and enjoy the bath in about up to 6 feet deep water.

Beautiful waterfall with stunning views. One should take a Jeep (compulsory) by paying a decent amount. Those people will do an off-road riding for 9 kms and we have to Trek for around 1 km to reach the falls. A must visit waterfalls specially during monsoon.

Hebbe falls is one of the popular place to visit in Chikmagalur, you can enjoy 5-6km jeep safari with 500 per person cost, its completely off-road jungle safari, you can spot few animals if you are lucky enough, wild deer can be easily seen. You have to walk for 15-20 min with gradual ascent, descent, flat terrains to reach Hebbe fall. You can take a bath under fall if interested or just enjoy its drops like shower by seating on rock at some distance away from waterfall. You have to come back by 1 hr to 1.25 hrs at jeep safari parking to go back. It will take minimum 2-3 hours depends on rush.

Hebbe Waterfalls is a nature lover's paradise! The journey through the dense, verdant forest to reach the falls is an adventure in itself, setting the stage for the breathtaking spectacle that awaits. As the cascading waters plunge amidst lush greenery, a sense of tranquility washes over you. The natural pool at the base is an inviting oasis, perfect for a refreshing dip. The sheer beauty and raw power of Hebbe Waterfalls make it a must-visit destination. It's a symphony of nature, where the sound of falling water harmonizes with the serenity of the surrounding landscape. Truly a hidden gem in the heart of Karnataka

Admiring the Cascade offers a truly breathtaking view, and the experience of walking through the woods is priceless, especially during winter.
The wait was a bit longer as they needed to accommodate 13 members in a vehicle.
Additionally, the price is higher (500 per head). They provide around one and a half hours to spend time in the waterfalls. The jeep safari takes almost 30 mins.

A wonderful place for nature lovers and those who love trekking. A very safe, quiet, and beautiful place to be seen. You need to reach the starting point where you will find Jeep ready to take you through the rough terrains across the jungle. Then you will have to trek through a carefully laid out path that will take you straight to the waterfall.

One of the most beautiful falls, located in the mid of forest. Around 1.5 hr from city centre, you can take the car till the booking spot. Then you are taken into a van/jeep 590/- per person.( Although while coming back, we saw that booking was being taken straight from the main gate and was written as 500/- and it wasnt available in the morning)It takes around 3.5-4 hrs of total time including a 12-15 mins trek in the last. You can take a dip in the fall though it is very slippery. My advise is to Visit it in the early morning for lesser crowd.

Located about 2-3 hours drive from Bengaluru this temple is a beautiful place to visit .
This temple is dedicated to Lord Veerabhadra and temple architecture style is of Vijayanagara era temples. This temple has many sculptures and fresco's . Main attraction in this temple is the hanging pillar and Shiv Linga on a serpent.
Few cars can be parked near entrance of this temple and parking charge are RS 50 per car. During afternoon it will be difficult to walk in this temple as it gets very hot . Found only a hotel and restaurant of Andhra Pradesh government where families can go for food and stay. It may be difficult to reach this temple using public transport so it will be better to take a taxi to reach this temple. Non Hindus are allowed inside this temple.

This is a good place to visit, especially for those from Bangalore since it is hardly 2 hour journey (including traffic/rainy weather). Best way to plan is for a morning to afternoon visit and return before it gets dark. The route is not safe during nights especially when we want to drive a car at high speeds. The roads are well maintained though and we saw almost no potholes along the lepakshi road from the big arc. This bull statue is open beyond 6pm as it is an open place. It feels more like a park and many people were trying to climb it.

The temple is very beautiful. The temple is around 500 years old and is a pure ancient architectural beauty. The place is just 2 hours drive away from Bangalore. We can very well make a one day plan to this place and return by afternoon if we start by morning 8. There is a garuda statue at the entrance. But were not allowed nearby for reasons unknown even after paying them to see the place. The parking and restrooms are pricey. 10 Rs. Just to enter the toilet irrespective of what you do inside. At a distance of 500 m from Lepakshi Bus Stand and 500 m from Sri Veerabhadra Temple (Lepakshi Temple), Lepakshi Nandi (Bull) is one of the main attractions in Lepakshi and a well-known landmark for the tourism of Lepakshi. It was built during Vijayanagara period when the main Veerabhadra Temple was built.
The Lepakshi Nandi is made out of single granite. The monolithic Nandi sculpture is said to be the second largest monolithic structure in India after Gomateshwara in Shravanabelagola. It is 20 feet in height and 30 feet in length. The Nandi statue is decorated with a necklace, muvvalahara, a bell chain with small horns.
It is noticeable that the head of the bull is held aloft at a higher angle than usual. In addition, the expression of submission, which is typical of Nandi before Shiva, is not seen in the statue here.
This big granite bull is situated on the main road beside AP Tourism Haritha resort. It has been positioned such that it faces the 18 ft Nagalinga in Veerabhadra Temple Complex.

This old temple is inside a village and a divine representation of Indian culture, religious values and mythological history. A beautiful place to spend a couple of hrs. The stone carved structures and pillars are admirable. The only point of resentment is the paintings on ceilings are being worn out by time which should be preserved and restored. In the enchanting town of Lepakshi, where every stone whispers tales of history and devotion, stands the awe-inspiring Monolithic Nandi Statue—a colossal masterpiece that beckons visitors into the heart of artistic brilliance and spiritual grandeur.
Situated a mere 200 meters away from the temple, this gigantic statue of Nandi, affectionately known as Basavanna, commands attention with its regal presence. The seated bull, adorned with a resplendent necklace and a garland of bells, gazes with unwavering devotion towards the Nagalingeshwara sculpture inside the temple, creating a sacred connection between the divine entities.
What sets this statue apart is its sheer scale—standing tall at a height of 15 feet and stretching an impressive 27 feet in length, it proudly claims its status as the largest monolithic stone Nandi statue in the country. As sunlight dances upon its exquisitely carved form, the Nandi exudes a timeless charm, inviting visitors to witness the perfect harmony of nature's canvas and human craftsmanship.
The meticulous attention to detail is evident in every inch of this majestic structure. The perfectly-proportioned body, the intricately carved ornaments, and the smooth contours tell a story of skilled artisans who breathed life into stone. As tourists stand in awe before this colossal creature, it becomes more than just a sculpture; it becomes a living testament to the artistic prowess and devotion that define Lepakshi's cultural heritage.
Photographers and art enthusiasts alike find solace in capturing the essence of this monolithic marvel. The interplay of light and shadow on the Nandi's finely crafted features creates a visual symphony, offering a moment frozen in time that transcends the boundaries of history and art.
Visiting the Monolithic Nandi Statue in Lepakshi is not just a sightseeing experience; it is a pilgrimage into the heart of artistic brilliance and spiritual reverence. It serves as a reminder that in the hands of skilled craftsmen, stone can transform into a living, breathing masterpiece that resonates with the soul of a culture. As you stand in the shadow of this monumental creation, you can't help but feel the echo of centuries past—a timeless connection between art, devotion, and the eternal spirit of Basavanna.

Nice calm place where you can relax your mind. Even you are not a follower of Baba, you will feel good about him and his works after you visit this place. He had done a lot of good works to the people in Andra Pradesh. Probably this is the most peaceful place I have visited in Andra Pradesh.
Foods and accommodations are really cheap inside. Devotees and the working staff are really friendly. Not recommended for a quick visit. Better stay for few days and relax your mind.
Negative: Most of the washrooms were not properly maintained. Some says they were better when Baba was there.

If one is travelling from Banglore towards Hydrabad after almost 100 kms towards Hydrabad, the signage takes one to this magnificent temple & Samadi Palace of SatSaiBaba Ji. After covering 45 kms of neatly mettled road one reaches SatSai District as it’s called. With multi floral natural decoration on both sides of the road it’s a very serene & peaceful temple Ashrama. For rupees 15 & rupees two one can have a full meal with tea. The temple has a huge number of volunteers to guide the new entrants. One can also book a stay within the temple premises. During noon the main shrine remains closed and only opens in afternoon. So one needs to plan accordingly. If one is later headed to Hydrabad there is an alternate shorter route via Anantpur.

Belum Caves, located on the Indian subcontinent, offers a remarkable experience with its vast underground cave system adorned with geological formations and artificial lighting. The site boasts the largest and longest cave system open to the public in India, featuring long passages, galleries and spacious caverns that occasionally contain fresh water. Visitors are advised to bring a torch or headlamp for better visibility as sticky mud may cause footwear loss. Additionally, one should carry water bottles due to stuffiness inside causing excessive sweating.
A very well maintained cave. It has sufficient lighting and oxygen inside and has directions that are clear so that one doesn't get lost inside the cave. Has ventilation ducts at few places to keep the air circulation at a good pace. The place is very neatly maintained and no plastic waste was found inside the cave. The formation of the rocks and everything looks so good and interesting if one is willing to explore and learn more about it. A good place to play scary house with your friends of course :) Important to take water bottles before going in as one would sweat a lot and feel thirsty in their journey. All in all a good place to visit to spend some quality time.

People who love adventures and rock formations, would certainly love to go to this place. Such a natural beauty. The cave is so deep, wide and long. It absolutely amazes you at every part with its deep trenches. There are places within the cave which are so narrow and the rocks are porous as the water keeps dripping through these rocks.
Please make sure to have nice footwear (sandals or gum boots) as you have grip and not hurt your feet. The whole tour would approx take 2 hours. You'll drain all your energy by the time you are back as the terrain is tough, long and, very suffocating. You end up profusely sweating. Carry some energy drinks and food to keep yourself hydrated and keep your energy levels high.
The sad part is about the maintenance by the governments. Though we have blowers and lights inside the cave, most of them are out of order and not functional which makes the journey tiring.

This is a natural cave and opened for the public in 2003.
Before going to this cave:
must carry an adequate water bottle. in the cave there is a lot of humidity so wear some light clothes and also for footwear, must have anti skid like shoes as there is some slippery clay like miss are present in the track.
there is a very small waterfall present in the cave. Must visit
Car parking charges 20/-
Adult charges: 70/- per person
It will take a minimum of 1 ½ hr to explore all the paths in the caves. There is marking of all the directions as IN or OUT.

Superb experience. The Buddha statue outside the cave is really calming. The walk inside is out of the world. Really scary in few places. Be careful with your footwear as few places the mud is really sticky and many have lost their footwear. Carry a torch or headlamp for better visibility. There are lights inside. Carry a water bottle as it gets stuffy inside and you sweat a lot.

Ancient and undiscovered place. Very magical feeling once you go more and more inside. The air vents were not working at some places. Wearing shoes is advised as the pavement is uneven. Take your own water bottle and don't leave empty bottles. Basic Telugu if you can read it'll be helpful although all the exit are written in English. l

Underground caves miles and miles long !
Amazing shapes and structures formed naturally over thousands of years by erosion, deposition, transfer of minerals by water, etc.
A must-visit place for many reasons, but one is rarity.
To make the best of your visit, be sure to take a very powerful torch because your phone LEDs are insufficient to see the details.
And wear well fitting shoes, because slippers/sandals are very dangerous for the terrain.
Carefully note or photograph every junction you pass, most have no English signs, and you can't phone for help as there is insufficient signal underground.
Not an enjoyable or safe place for naughty children or aged people though.

We traveled to Belum caves on a Saturday afternoon. The place does get a lot of tourists as it was quite busy Saturday.
The ticket is priced at ₹70 adults and ₹50 kids. They were surprisingly only accepting cash payment which is quite inconvenient, they should start card payments/UPI.
The caves are well maintained, have good air ventilation, well placed signs to follow. I wish the AP government authorities would keep dustbins inside the caves as people do carry water bottles and tend to throw them randomly. Do carry water bottles if possible it can can get quite humid and sweaty inside.
Belum caves are 3229m long and are the second largest natural caves in Indian subcontinent. Definitely recommend visiting it.
Improvement-
* Even though it’s mentioned Staircase is damaged people were still climbing on it. Please do fix the staircase as it’s not safe.
*Washrooms are are in a pitiable state! Requesting the authorities to take action and upgrade the facilities.
*Beautification of the overall place can be done too.
*Besides the caves the place was looking quite dull and make it more scenic with plants and good facilities.
* need good restaurants facilities also

Plus points : A magnificent creation of Nature worth visiting . The stalactites , stalagmites, courses and caverns were created over a period of millions of years , by an ancient flow of water through limestone and quartz . This is the second largest subterranean cave system in India .
Depth goes from 80ft to 120 ft . Air vents are provided at regular intervals . Photography is allowed .
Minus points : Being a Protected Monument under care of the State Government , more thought and sensitivity should have gone into its maintenance .
The garish colored lights are an eyesore marring the natural beauty of the rocks . The spiral stairway to get to the low point is shaky . Names of caves and Exit signs are painted directly on cave walls instead of on boards .
Fact file :
Entrance ticket : Rs70 per adult . Carpark :Rs20
Guides ( Telugu,Hindi,English) available .
Kids playground , basic toilets, a snack kiosk in premises .
Recommended : Carry water . As it gets very humid and sweaty inside, carry a hand towel too. Good walking shoes , to walk on uneven surfaces . Visit during cooler hours of the day and in dry , non-rainy season .
Reportedly, crowded on weekends .
Please do not break off stone bits to carry as souvenir . Please do not scribble/ scratch your initials on those ancient rocks . Please don’t litter . It was painful to see some tourists doing such things , during my visit.
Lets learn to respect shared heritages .

An amazing cave experience. Recommend every visitor traveling to city of Kurnool or Nandyal in State of Andhra Pradesh to take some time out and visit Belum Caves.
An advisory would be to carry Torch-light as there are zones which are very dim lit corners. A to Gaurav Buddhas statue adorns at entrance. The Caves are very well planned and our appreciation to the Team behind the concept and execution too.
The overall maintenance of Caves leaves a lot to be desired. A few zones had no AC and the places were hot and perspiring too. There were broken equipments like AC parts and broken light consoles that were lying in open and had not been moved out.

It was different experience to be in underground caves. Rock formations inside caves are really beautiful. Main drawback was feeling too much hot inside the caves due to more crowd. This temple was constructed by King Harihara Bukka Raya of the Sangama Dynasty of the Vijayanagara Empire in the 15th century.[citation needed] It was built according to Vaishnavaite traditions.
One story of the site's origin is as follows: The sage Agastya wanted to build a temple for Lord Venkateswara on this site. However, the statue that was made could not be installed as the toe nail of the idol got broken. The sage was upset over this and performed a penance for Shiva. When Shiva appeared, he said the place suits Shiva better as it resembles Kailash. Agastya then requested Shiva to give the devotees a Parvathi Goddess as Lord Uma Maheswara in a single stone, which Shiva obliged.
A second story is as follows: Chitteppa, a devotee of Shiva, was worshiping Shiva and Shiva appeared to him as a tiger. Chitteppa understood that it was Lord Shiva in tiger form, and shouted Neganti Shivanu ne kanti (meaning: I saw Shiva I saw), and danced with joy. There is a cave called Chitteppa nearby. Sri Yaganti Uma Maheswara Temple is one of the few temples patronized by one of the great dynasties of India. Every year Maha Shivaratri is celebrated and a large number of devotees from all over Andhra Pradesh visit. Shiva, Parvati and Nandi are the main deities in this temple. This temple is 14 km away from Banaganipalli in kurnool dt. The saint lord Veerabrahmendra swami stayed here for some time and wrote Kalagnanam

Amazing temple to be visited, most of the time it’s crowded. Shiva is the main deity at this temple, once you come out of the darshan you will witness a huge Nandi statue. Just adjacent to the temple you will see a hill connecting from the shiva temple to this step hill. Once you climb the steep hill you will see Venkateshwara swamy. It is believed that Lord Venkateshwara stepped his foot 🦶 first here, Kadapa was his second and third is Tirumala. So the Poojari said that what ever we wish to happen in your life you can pray here and once it’s fulfilled we have to perform Pooja to the deity. Must visit temple.

Sri Yaganti Uma Maheswara Temple was constructed by King Harihara Bukka Raya of the Sangama Dynasty of theVijayanagara Empire in the 15th century. It was built according to Vaishnavaite traditions.

Yaganti Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, offers a profoundly peaceful and soulful experience. The serene ambiance creates an ideal environment for spiritual contemplation, and the presence of water ponds adds to the overall tranquility.

The nearest town is Banaganapalli. Do visit the caves and learn about the history of the temple while you are here. It is very amusing. And the speciality here is the growing Nandi (bull) which is predicted to come to life and it is believed among the locals that when the stone turns to life, the world will end. It's the temple where Shiva is in the form of Uma Maheshwara. Do visit during Shivratri for the best experience possible.Oh and there's entry fee for the temple. It should be around 10 to 20 rupees.

One must visit this historical place. One of the lord Shiva temples around Nandyala. Temple's pond is very beautiful, entire place is scenic and pleasant.
Darshan is mentioned as free in Google, but it's not. Darshan prices start from 10/-

Very good. It's not like the other temple. It has the speciality of the ground water hole. As per the local information, the water will come around all year.

Sri Raghavendra Swami Vaari Matham is a sprawling temple complex situated along the riverside, dedicated to a Hindu saint. The temple boasts of magnificent stone carvings and hosts daily rituals. Visitors can contribute to Annadanam and buy prasadam as well. The temple provides ample space for devotees, with many lodges available in the vicinity for accommodation.

The temple is good, but management is worst. People will be fighting for everything to move in line for dharshana, prasadham, and for food, management will never control all these problems even people complain to the authority to solve. Totally it's Very poor management.

A place from where you think of never returning to your home. A place where you can come again and again but still will feel that vibe and connection with god. On the clean bank of Tungbhadra river this temple is must visit in south india. One of the best ever. And also the great historical place.

I visited the temple today 15.5.2022 with my sisters. Had a peaceful darshan though there was rush. We contributed to Annadanam. Finally we came to buy prasadam. Prasadam per pocket is Rs 25/-. I gave 50 and the lady sitting in the counter asked me rudely to get change or make way for others. We come from far of places to see Raghavendra God. But I was upset as she shouted at the top of her voice. Please post people who help and understand the devotees. My other experience in the temple was very good.

Sacred temple. Well maintained. Would love to visit anytime to seek the Guru's blessings. Temple will be crowded on Thursday, Saturday, Sundays and on long weekends as well. These days hotels charge very high amounts which is not worth spending. So better book Mutt accommodation in advance and plan accordingly

We visited both day as well as the night time and it was really soothing to visit this temple. The vibe and music and people playing bhajans everything calms you down. The architecture around th temple is beautiful depicting many stories and incidents in Sanatani culture. One must visit this place had a really good experience.

Just a divine feeling and experience, I visited this mutt for the 1st time in my life. I felt welcomed with both arms and this comes with miracles one after the other. Overall this was the best experience of my life and thanks to my mother's friend who planned this temple tour. Totally blessed.

This place is loaded with posative vibes. I had a very lucky and quick visit to this temple site. Blessed to have visited and got the darshan of this place. Very well maintained place. Has a large courtyard and a majestic walkway to the temple. The river flowing behind the temple adds to the beauty.
The museum next to the temple is very interesting. It gives you an insight into our religions well as the vast cosmic universe . The various Lords / God and Goddess explained. Children should be exposed to this. Found meaning in why we say a prayer prior to meal, how to, and like. The body as a whole and its system too explained from religion point of view.
Lot of visitors. Has multiple options to stay and eat.
Must visit and get blessed once in a lifetime .

Magnificent at night with lighting..don’t miss in the evenings.
Temple is just adjacent to banks of Tungabadra river. A small walk takes to the ghat and shopping area.
Dress code for men #No Shirt/tshirt allowed beyond the main chamber. No restrictions on type of dress until the main chamber.

Absolutely divine feeling, avoid visiting during weekends n public holidays. Huge crowd is expected during those days. If SRS Mutt rooms are filled then you will end up paying huge amount for private rooms. Even 1* rooms are charged similar to 5* hotels. Also most of them are 12hrs checkout.

Very good place.. But heavy rush during holidays and Thursday.. Parking is not planned properly... All the hotels will be changing huge amount and you have no other choice.
Total collapse during week end... You need to plan your trip only in week days...

He is actually Guru of Madhwa community but his blessings reach beyond leaps and bounds to protect his devotees. A Seva for one day will keep you pious for the rest of the year. Vibes we get are extraordinary.
Large riverside temple complex with stone carvings & daily rituals, dedicated to a Hindu saint.
Very divine and very powerful devotional place for Hindus. You will feel very positive and energetic in the atmosphere. The wishes will be fulfilled once you wish here. Rooms are very near to the temple. The only thing is that the tungabhadra river cleanliness is not proper. Lots of plastic waste is found, no proper maintenance.

Sacred temple. I had booked accommodation from the temple website and also the seva. Good time to sit in temple is evening. Behind temple is the river where a dip should calm down. You also have a camel ride available near to temple. Private hotels charge randomly based on agents/auto driver people so better to book online through temple site.

Just awesome place to visit. Very good service in terms of darshan, food arrangements for devotees, prasadam distribution.
The road network needs to be improved a lot along the Bellary - Raichur stretch leading to Mantralayam.

This place can’t be explained but can only be felt and experienced. A divinely place one must visit at least once . This place has been improved a lot compared to years ago! People and the office staffs in the mutt are kind enough to guide the devotees!
The system where people can join their hands to volunteer and serve Parimala Prasada is something unique and the best part! Never availed room service as it was a day visit so not sure about that, but quite lot of places seems to be available nearby. There are other places nearby to visit for one day short trip

I suggest people to visit this place during night times because the cool weather and the lighting adds up more beauty to this temple. The river flow is just normal now. Devotees take bath in this river and go for Darshanam. No entry fee is required here. The ambiance is great. It’s one of the best places for devotees.

The Brindavana of Raghavendra Swamy: A Must-See for Any Visitor to Andhra Pradesh
The Mantralaya Temple is a resplendent and tranquil temple dedicated to the saint Raghavendra Swamy. The temple is situated in the town of Mantralayam in Andhra Pradesh and is a popular pilgrimage destination for Hindus from all over the world.
The temple complex sprawls over a very large area and encompasses a number of shrines, halls, and gateways. The most arresting feature of the temple is the Brindavana, or samadhi, of Raghavendra Swamy. The Brindavana is a vast, white marble structure that is encircled by a garden.
The ambiance at the temple is tranquil and spiritual, and it is a fantastic place to experience the rich culture of Andhra Pradesh. I would certainly recommend the Mantralaya Temple to anyone visiting the region.

Very lovely location along the Tungabadra River's bank. It borders Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. The rainy season is the ideal time to go. It will take ten to fifteen minutes for Darshana. well-run temple. A large gathering. There is a traffic jam and auto drivers are rushing to get their passengers in. They obstruct traffic and prevent pilgrims from easily accessing our location.

We wanted room on 5th April 24, it’s a off-season, many rooms were empty but we were told that it’s completely filled.
We agreed for theirs rules and abided accordingly.
But when we visited the building STM
Corridor wasn’t clean
Rooms were also dirty, it was left as is which was used by other pilgrims
This should be taken care because we travel from far, we pay for rooms and it’s not offered at a free cost.
I have also attached photos for proof

I am talking about the floor ...it's too slippery especially with older people who must be more careful ..I don't know why they are using granite stones / any other which looks shiny..
But when it comes to safety ...not bothered 😕
Any way elders, heavy weight people , poor slippers/ Sandals/ shoes .
Especially when there is a water on floor / raining time / or not visibility..

We took AC suits which were on the 3rd floor and there was a frequent power cut, no proper UPS service we use to climb 3 floors most of the time.
I suggest the management should have an alternate power source in case of a power cut.
Overall the rooms were so clean and well maintained.

The place is located in the prime location near to the temple but the booking procedure and the staff are not cooperative and not done with ease.
Very rude and unfriendly behaviour which is very irritating.
And also the place is not maintained well even though it is newly built the cleanliness is not maintained. The bathrooms are not cleaned properly.
They charge as much as the private places but definitely not worth the cost.
Be prepared for the unruly people and unclean rooms.

It is located on NH-40 highway, outside the village of Orvakal, about 20 kilometres from Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, southern India. There is a lot of facilities include Boating, Hotel etc., The park, with hiking paths that snake up a hill, was developed by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation.
The content of the rocks is quartz and silica, a raw material for the glass industry. Several companies have petitioned for the ability to mine the area, which raises ecological concerns. The garden has been a site for film production, which has resulted in another ecological concern due to plaster of paris remnants left at the park after the movies were completed.

Akkamahadevi caves are a must-visit in Srisailam, offering an adventurous experience. Accessible via motor boats from Srisailam's Pathala Ganga, the caves are located about 5 kilometers off the Hyderabad-Srisailam Road. Visitors can board a basket boat to reach the caves through a lush green river route. The journey takes about 4 hours round trip, with boat travel lasting around 1-1.5 hours.
Nice place I love place 🥰

It takes 4 hrs for up and down to the cave . Boat travel is about 1 -130 hrs .Won’t suggest for very senior people and people have knee problem . There is deep steep stairs for boarding the boat and also to wards the cave.
Inside the cave it’s stuffy and dust hence suggest nose cover or mask will be good . The cave is very dark and you may have to use mobile torch inside .
Suggest you to carry water bottle and if need be some snacks as you don’t get any thing on the way or at the cave . They charge you 650/- per person and only one trip a day starts at 10 am . The apsrtc booking office opens by 9am .

These caves are named after Akka Mahadevi who was a saint and great devotee of Lord Shiva in 12th century as she used to penance about lord Shiva at in these caves. One can visit this place by travelling about one and half hour through a steamer from Patalaganga of Srisailam. Suggest you to wear a mask while entering the caves in case if you have dust allergies. Upto certain extent a group of people can go together. After that one after the other can go and have Darshan of Lord Shiva inside the too narrow caves. At the entrance of these caves one can find a massive naturally formed rock slab without any supports in between.

Calm and serene worshiping place..! Nice temple to visit in the Ananthagiri hills..!! It’s an ancient temple having history and built by Nizams.. we can see the influence of nizams on the various aspects of the temple. Near by there is the starting point of Muchikanda rever, popularly known as Musi Nadi..!!
