The direct drive from Edmonton to Jasper is 226 mi (363 km), and should have a drive time of 4 hrs 31 mins in normal traffic.
If you’re going on a road trip from Edmonton to Jasper, we did the research for you and compiled some great stops along the way — with top places to visit like Old Strathcona Farmers' Market and The Arden Theatre, or the ever-popular Sir Winston Churchill Square.
The top stops along the way from Edmonton to Jasper (with short detours) are Athabasca Falls, Patricia Lake, and Beaver Boardwalk. Other popular stops include Maligne Lake, University of Alberta Botanic Garden, and The Enjoy Centre.

The Old Strathcona Farmers Market is a great place to find local produce, cool accessories, jewelry, new clothes and more. It is open every Saturday from 8 am to 3 pm and has over 130 vendors selling all kinds of items.
Old Strathcona may not be the largest farmer’s market I’ve seen (owing to its high latitude, Edmonton ain’t going to be a destination for tropical fruits), but it does an exceptional job of showcasing local foods and produce…. With ABUNDANT free samples. Want to experience the exceptional summer bounty of local (just- picked) plums, peaches, and cherries? ✔️. Interested in mead made from Saskatoon prairie? ✔️

Today, the OSFM celebrated their 40th anniversary! So I had lunch there! Had their gorgeous Turkey Bacon Club Sandwich! Most filling and full of flavour! Congrats on their 40th year! Staff was extremely polite and energized! Way to go! 😃

It's a lovely and diverse market. With friendly vendors. prices are comparable to the larger stores but with fresher food. I wish I could shop more like this in my neighborhood in British Columbia. many of the stalls you get to sample some of the merchandise, with a little taster spoons. I can't wait to get into the eggplant dip and tzatziki... it was just awesome got a chance to taste it later in the day
Glen Kelleway (Canadian-Mortgage-Geek) — Google review
I like the market because of fresh local vegetables and fruits. But the price is higher than other stores. I bought some strawberries, raspberries, potatoes, and cauliflower.

My ist time here in a long time and this place has lots of fresh produce from different vendors.
There's a wide variety of home-made edible products such as pies, bagels, cinnamon buns, Asian food, fruit spreads, alcoholic beverages, Latin food, breads, frozen meats, Caribbean food, etc.
There's also a food court that serves hot menu.
Clean washroom for public use.

At my first time here, this place is very crowded. so many people here. This place open every Saturday 8AM- 3PM. There are many Great fresh organic fruit and vegetables. You can try many sample that vendors offered.
Not only food, there were also some hand made goods, crafts, and other unique items. There is a washroom in the back of this market. Many items are quite expensive but its worth.
There is a parking lot across the street offering 2 hours free parking.

Neat little market for vendors to sell goods. "Farmers Market" is a stretch as most of the vendors here are resellers of grocery then some are real crafts people that sell goods they made. Small cafe near the end and some places to sit. This place is clear and with free outside parking near by.

This place was fantastic to spend a Saturday afternoon in! Huge selection of meat, produce, and whatever else comes to mind, and even some things that don’t! The guy with the African sausage stand was my favourite and his samples were out of this world!

Did not expect so many food, produce and other items to be in. You can sample food, enjoy variety of ice cream and snacks while walking around the market. Market is housed inside a building and places are there to sit and eat as well.

As Shakespeare would say..
"Verily, the Old Strathcona Farmer's Market doth present itself as a delightful trove of fresh harvest, dairy, and rustic comestibles. This lively marketplace doth exude an earthly plenty, proffering an array of untainted farm-fresh provisions that would set any gastronome's heart aflutter. From crisped, locally sown vegetables to luscious, handcrafted cheeses, the excellence and diversity presented are beyond compare. What distinguishes this emporium is its close kinship to the yeomen who labor to bring forth these doleful yet exquisite offerings.
Handcrafted soap, like artisanal alchemy, doth cleanse and soothe. Fine wines and delectable deli fare, a feast fit for royalty, await thee. 'Tis an earthly abundance that speaks of toil by honest yeomen, who bring forth these wares with melancholic devotion. Verily, this market invites thee to partake in the fruits of their labor, forging connections and gratitude for life's simple pleasures. A must-visit, where the earth's rich offerings sing in sweet harmony.
One canst commune with those very hands that till the soil, cultivating a sense of fellowship and thanksgiving for life's humble pleasures.
A pilgrimage it must be for all who yearn for an unblemished taste of virtuous sustenance "

I have had a booth at this market for over 17 years, selling my own scenic photography prints and notecards and wall canvases. A Saturday-only market works well for me, as I work another full time desk job and this market allows me to get out and meet new folks. The other vendors are super friendly and our customers are frequent and a joy to serve. There's a real feeling of family here and everyone is stoked to be here.
Sandra Marsh — Google review
Very pricey. Extremely pricey. I'd like to buy local, but can hardly do so at these prices. Guess it's a cool place for a certain demographic group to "be seen" and "be cool", but way out of my league. $10 for 3 tomatoes? Must be nice.
Carla C — Google review
You will like it if you believe in promoting local flavors, produce and home made items. The place is big but get very crowded.
Items are expensive but worth promoting home grown businesses. Everything looks very appealing.
Keep a track of your spending as u can easily spend hundreds if u don’t watch ur spending.
I didn’t find fresh berries during my visit and it was the only disappointment.
There is a parking lot across the street offering 2 hours free parking in case parking is your concern.

I really loved brunch (and the cinnamon buns!!) at the cafe
A 509-seat theatre showcasing national & local musical acts as well as drama & dance events.
This a great venue for intimate concerts and other shows. With a capacity of about 500 there is no bad sight lines. The seating is comfortable. Easy access to the theatre. My wife and I have been here a couple of times for concerts and thoroughly enjoyed them. The sound is high quality. The whole experience was great. I would recommend coming here for any show because it’s comfortable and the ambiance is great.

Great community theater. Great community. Dated building that could use some upgrades. Looks the same as it did 15 years ago. I hope they get funding for renovations one day.

Really frustrated with this place. Booking tickets online was a mess- what we thought were front row tickets were top row. At least its small enough so we could still see the stage.
Also, it's a cluster **** getting a crowd seated. We had never been here before and there were 2 long line ups. We didn't know where to go, no one was giving directions, and we were seated absolutely last and almost missed our kids performance. Worst part is when I gave feedback, the worker shrugged and told us to do better next time. We only came for our kids prefomance; I have no desire to ever set foot in this place ever again.
Management, check your staff. They should be respectful, kind and helpful. Perhaps open seating earlier so people don't miss important performances. We showed up 1 hr early and still barely made the show.

Great view of the stage from every seat. Not handicap friendly however... my mom had a hard time. They have a ramp to get into the theater but unless you are seated in the front, there is no access to the theater with a wheelchair....and for those with mobility issues the isles are narrow and there are many steps to access each section.

We attended the 2019 Cheremosh Ukrainian dance festival at the Arden theatre. The theatre is lovely with plenty of comfortable seating that offers excellent views of the stage. However, the lobby and the change rooms are quite small for this type of event. The theatre is well-situated and offers visitors a chance to explore the beauty of St. Albert’s river valley or enjoy the shops and restaurants of its downtown core.

The St. Albert Farmers' Market is a vibrant community event that takes place every Saturday from June to October. It offers a wide range of products from over 250 vendors, including locally grown produce, homemade goods, and artisan crafts. In addition to the typical market offerings, visitors can enjoy special event days with fun activities for the whole family such as face painting, live music, and food trucks.
A Saturday tradition my son and I have enjoyed for years. There are always new local vendors, with plenty of unique local food and products.

The biggest farmers market in alberta.
Literally lots of vendors on the street near the alberta place. It is a little hard to find parking spots to get there.
Fresh vegetables and fruits as well as home made sausages, artifacts were there.
You will see also street performers in the middle of the area

I’m from out of town. Friends I was staying with took me here on the last Saturday before shuts up for winter. A very pleasant atmosphere with a decent variety in local and regional produce. Fresh and cooked food stalls. Some liquor stalls. Some craft and art stalls. Doesn’t take too long to walk the whole market.

We love to kill time at the farmers market. If your going for vegetables I recommend going early and taking a look at all the vendors because some have better quality items then others. One might have better cucumbers, other might have better carrots.
Would be cool if there were more tents to sit and eat at. We never last very long at the market because there is not enough shaded areas. We now have it figured out and know what we are going for. We would buy more and eat more if we could have a nice resting spot. The spots that are near the building fill up fast.

The SAB Farmers Market has a diverse selection of things to buy, from trinkets to clothes, flowers, pottery, vegetables..you name it…and plenty of food trucks. Some of the vendors are cash only but there are ATM machines available. Its a fun experience, but be forewarned, it can get quite crowded and parking is a premium so get there early, especially on a warm summer’s day. My preference to go is end of July through August

A wonderful place to spend some time with your family or friends there! A lots of fun stuff to see, try and buy! Try the fruit wine and honey wine! Then pick which one is better to purchase! And try the sample sausage from a small place with oven and frozen fridge ;) but I can’t tell where it locates exactly! Anyway please have a try there! No regret! I will try my best to take more people there next time!
Mall with a greenhouse/garden center, organic restaurant/cafe, health-food market & pop-up shops.
Absolutely wonderful! Took my mom and my teenage kids there today and what an amazing experience. Beautiful! The service was fantastic and the variety of natural food items!!!!! I can not tag enough about the clean food items you can buy. My only regret or complaint is not going there sooner. 10 out of 10!

Beautiful place for a wedding venue but don't forget your fan! Friends of ours got married this past weekend here, and it was a gorgeous setting. What you don't see is the 30-degree heat with very little air flow. The venue provided big fans, but they didn't help much as it was such a big space, so dress lightly in the summer months!

Bakery downstairs had amazing variety with gluten free options .
Store downstairs had monk fruit which I ❤️.
Cafe upstairs had wicked latte flavors.
Greenhouse healthy herbs including pineapple mint...smells just like 🍍!
Bright , sunny & spacious building.
Great central spot for me coming from Stony Plain to meet up with my friend from Sherwood Park.
Can't wait to visit when the main greenhouse opens!

Salisbury runs the greenhouse upstairs and it's full of plants and garden equipment, pots, yard art, everything for your outdoor space.
Evooolutin is there too-olive oil spices and much more and you can grab a coffee or a bite from the Glass House restaurant.
Then head downstairs for some fresh baked bread and goodies from the bakery and have a run through the grocery store. Lots of healthy food and organic produce and healthier snacks.
And the place is spotless and full of helpful employees......

It is a good place to buy plants 🌱 and local grocery brands. I loved the natural light in the place.
I expected more shops and things do to.. tbh my visit took less than 30 mins.
It’s decent but I think you would go there for a certain goal, not for spending time (it is not a mall)
But overall I like it

This is one of our family’s favourite places to visit. Partially because we are plant people! But also it’s just such a gorgeous place to go on a cold winter day especially if it’s clear skies. The atrium is stunning and makes you feel instantly happy despite the cold! The health food / organic grocery in the bottom has items that are difficult to find elsewhere in the city. There’s an Evoolution shop inside (yay fancy oils and vinegars!) plus a great little coffee shop and restaurant. And for those of you who are buying your seeds to start like we are, prices here are the same if not better than the specified seeds shops and they carry all your favs including West Coast Seeds.

This was my first visit and I really enjoyed the atmosphere with all the plants around. They carry a lot of great items, such as tools and of course potting utensils, all of great quality. There is a nice little bakery and supplement shop. If you are looking for rare stuff, they probably have it. Very nice staff. The coffee shop is quite pricey though.

I have never been to this museum before. I came by accident and was glad that I did. Although I did not get a chance to tour the museum, as my infant and wife were asleep in the car, I did a little tour of the place myself. There are many relics to see and is well worth stopping by. I entered the building being greeted by a friendly face, and many things to see. I suggest giving yourself a couple of hours if you plan on touring the facility, as it is larger than it appears. There are many antiques to see outside and photos to take all around. I sure hope that this place remains open for many more years to come. Thank you for the friendly greeting, and I hope to be back for a full tour soon:)

Shauna Marie Pollock — Google review
Staff was fantastic and funny and made the trip to examine Alberta's original oil rig worthwhile.
Sad dinosaurs of a bygone era... the idea of a museum to celebrate the ravenous greed of an oil boom is a little hard to swallow.
The tools of the trade, displayed in vulgar unabashedness, speak to the harsh and uncaring way the landscape was treated in order to steal her black, organic liquid remnant of death and decay.
It will be much more enjoyable to attend this little museum when the oil business has finally been put to bed and zero point energy has been brought to bear, helping to save humanity and our place on this earth.
This is a tiny little testament to the workers who sacrificed time with their families to make better than average wages through the few decades of oil madness but doesn't speak to the UNTOLD TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS STOLEN FROM THE LAND to enrich European, Asian and UK companies.
I bought some crystals from the gift shoppe to add to my sacred eartj stone collection. They will be part of my prayers for a healed and vibrant planet and a smooth transition to a wiser and less greedy future. ❤️🌎

Our family fell in love with this place! Definitely one of the best botanic parks we have ever been to. Very beautiful, clean and well maintained, especially the Japanese garden. We can't wait to go back. Honestly we were a bit skeptical with the admission fee at the beginning but it was worth the price at the end! This place is so huge that we couldn't check out everything with our baby. But we will definitely revisit to finish exploring the rest of the park!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this amazing establishment, and I must say, it exceeded all expectations. The ambiance is simply beautiful, creating the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience.
However, what truly sets this place apart is its exceptional staff. In particular, I had the pleasure of interacting with Diane Gargas, who left a lasting impression with her warm hospitality and unparalleled level of service. Diane went above and beyond to ensure that both the couple I was accompanying and my team felt welcomed and well taken care of.
As someone catering for several wedding events this summer, Diane's accommodating nature and friendliness were invaluable. She effortlessly catered to our needs and made the entire experience seamless and enjoyable.
I cannot thank Diane and the rest of the staff enough for their outstanding service. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience coupled with exceptional service.

A very beautiful place. It's fairly large and we ended up doing a lot of walking over our two hours there. There is a fair amount of variety but some of the plants are a little overused across multiple locations. We had our wedding here recently. It is a beautiful place and the services provided are fantastic. This place is highly recommended for either a special event or just to visit. Do not forget to get some of their jams and jellies who are made using the fruits grown on the grounds.
The first time I went skydiving there I went tandem which was brilliant. And then I done solo two times after that which is just even more brilliant. They were so friendly and helpful the cost was reasonable it was just the best day ever each time I went

I know they are a reputable company with very high safety. My daughter was there a couple years ago and wants to go again. Good work guys!

Awful, would never ever recommend this place to skydive. To me tandem skydiving there has to be a passion, bond and desire to go on a journey together. Not here, I found everyone working here was cliquey, pretentious and only business oriented. I was appalled at how impersonal the person I was supposed to tandem jump with. So I bailed while in the air and told them I didn't want to jump.
In the end it was my fault and I basically threw $300 in the toilet. They at least gave me $ back for the video. Otherwise though, compared to the places I skydived out in B.C , this was absolutely terrible. For the only reason was the snobbiness and impersonal behavior of the staff. Will never step a foot anywhere near this place again and will never recommend them

Totally amazing experience all the way from booking with the lady on the phone answering all of my silly questions, to the plane ride, my instructor was awesome and all of the staff were amazing and made me feel safe, even though I was really scared! The best part was I got to pull the handle to open the chute. Thanks guys! I’ll be back for sure :)

This skydive center is GORGEOUS! Rolling hills and beautiful scenery, it really does suit it's name sake "Eden". It's a skydiver's paradise complete with charming facilities, wonderfully experienced and equally stoked staff. Everyone here knows exactly how to make you feel welcome and meticulously cared for, which is a major reason I will be sure to return time and time again!
I was so nervous, but my instructors quickly turned my anxiety into excitement as their experience and knowledge is extremely clear. Their energy is incredible! As soon as you step onto this dropzone, something magic happens and you just can't ignore how good you feel from the vibes! I love every experience I've had here, whether spectating skydives from the lovely park-style gazebo and playground or drinking in the delightful views (and zen-like emotions) from altitude. I especially love how close to Edmonton it is, fun is always MORE fun when it's in your very own backyard!
THANK YOU SKYDIVE EDEN NORTH! YOU GUYS ARE ABSOLUTE ROCKSTARS!!
Can't wait to come back with all my friends!
Quiet and peaceful during Fall time. Not much activity during the mid September weekend when I first visited. Would love to return and enjoy the beach and take take out my kayak next summer when it's less chilly and windy 😄

Lake , washrooms , place for installing tents, great sunlight, picnic tables. We took out portable bbq. Had a great day trip.

Campground can be a little loud with trains every 90-120 minutes
You can find nice family style hikes along near and away from the lake. I am here in late September and the trees are turning. The beach is probably full in warm summer months but this morning we are the only ones here.

The water is cool and clear of litter. I see many people enjoying the beach and water. It's a beautiful park for a family picnic. I see a large, secluded area with BBQ pit and covered picnic hut/gazebo with tables. The area has a nice view of the lake. I assume it's available for booking/ rental if you have a very large group.

A clean water lake and large campground which has many treed sites and RV sites can be found here. There are trails for hiking and biking and a waterfront beach for swimming, boating, and sailing. The beach and campground are often crowded during summer time. This is a good place for relaxing at weekends.

Lovely place to spend the day with family / friends or just by yourself. There are shades areas and the sunny sand beach that you can choose from. Wish they had more water sport rentals and F&B options at the location.

I will never swim here (because the water's always filled with algae) BUT I highly recommend this place because of its nice dock, beautiful trails and huge space to just admire nature and do other relaxing activities (there are boat rentals, playgrounds for kids, lots of picnic areas, a walking path where you can also admire the lake, lots of shaded areas for quiet time/reading) plus a great campground!

We love the camp ground. We went to the day use area but needed to find an area of the lake where we could be with our dog. Not many options and what we were able to find were not pleasant. We do wish that more places would make areas that families with pets can use to enjoy the water.

The park was good. I love paddleboarding. However, I dont like to swim in freshwaters with unknown floating stuff...because i got sensitive skin... and can't stay under the sun for too long, which is a bummer. Also, the park needs to have tap water atleast for hand washing and rinsing.

Trestle Creek is always worth the drive. The course is in good condition with the exception of a few rough spots on some of the greens and fairways. The course is not very old and is still maturing but very playable. The speed of the greens was quick but sticky, you had to give it an aggressive stroke as the ball came to a quick halt if you did not hit it firm enough. But be careful, too hard and they would run by quite a bit. Kudos goes out to the pro shop staff. We had a 9 a.m. tee-time but had flat tyre on the way out to the course. They were very accommodating and were able to get us out when we finally arrived 3 hours late. It was greatly appreciated and made a frustrating morning in to a pleasurable afternoon.

Most may not know this but they have stay and play packages available on lots that have not sold yet. We went for a week and had a great time. The water park was unreal, golf was spectacular and the restaurant was great. You should check it out, your kids would love it. Only downside was wifi was terrible.
It's about the journey — Google review
It is a nice golf course, but because it is also a resort many of the golfers have places at the resort. Because of this , it seems that they don’t think any rules should apply to them. It is a very slow golf course to play. People who cannot hit the ball 100 yards off the tee, play from the blues when they shouldn’t be. Also, when there is a group waiting on the tee behind you, is is not proper golf etiquette to play ready golf. Some of the people think they own the course and can take as long as they want. When we played the greens were aerated so there was a sign saying to play winter rules. The group in front of us, it was only a twosome, lined up every putt, and plumb bobbed like they were on the PGA tour. This is not the first time this has happened here. We used to golf there quite frequently, but got tired of the slow play and the lack of consideration by many of the golfers who live there. I am not a scratch golfer by any means, but do not think it should take 5 minutes for an amateur golfer to hit a shot. If a person was paying bargain prices you can expect this, but not when you are paying premium prices. There are other courses nearby that cost the same that do not allow this sort of behaviour. Other courses have Marshall’s who make an effort to speed up play. If it happens once, a person can accept it, but not every time you play the course. It is a better course than a 2 star rating, but not until they control the rate of play better.
Gary Mastervick — Google review
The golf course is amazing. Challenging and well taken care of. With at least a handful of holes that could be considered "signature" the built in GPS on the golf cart means you can leave the range finder in the bag.
There is a hitting net and putting green to warm up on. And the proshop has a nice little selection of apparel.
Will definitely be back with friends.

Air Adventure Flight School offers a unique and unforgettable experience for aviation enthusiasts. The school's focus on safety, professionalism, and hospitality ensures a memorable flight training experience. With top-notch instruction and world-class facilities located on a private airfield maintained by the owners Gerry and his wife, Air Adventure stands out from other flight schools. Whether it's paramotor training or general flight instruction, students can expect an exceptional learning environment with dedicated instructors like Claudio Mota.
Ended up choosing Air Adventure to do my paramotor training over 4 other flight instruction options. The main reason was because Air Adventure is unique in that the flight school is on a private airfield that is immaculately taken care of by the owners - Gerry and his wife.
The facility is really world class which truly sets Air Adventure apart from its competitors. It includes a hangar to store your gear during training, a classroom, power hook up onsite for camping and a firepit, an outdoor covered kitchen area, and a games room. Most importantly though, golf carts are used to minimize the amount of time walking up and down the field. In order to get comfortable with takeoffs and landings a winch system is used so that this skill can be learned prior to taking flight with the paramotor (schools that don't use a winch system require takeoff the first time using the paramotor). The paramotor instructor (Claudio) is very experienced and was a pleasure to take instruction from. Be sure to ask him for gear advice. Don't forget to ask whether you should opt for an electric start or not. :P
The only improvement I would suggest would relate to the actual application process for the Ultralight Pilot permit and booklet. Transport Canada regulates the licensing for paramotors and their pilots and it is an absolute convoluted pain in the a$$ to get the applications complete. Since the flight school is familiar with this process it would alleviate a great deal of frustration if the school could apply on behalf of the students.
NOTE: I did not receive any kind of checklist for items needed to prepare or help with the Ultralight applications. Please provide these to students going forward at a minimum.
Thanks for everything!

This would have to be one of the most incredible experiences of my life! Learning how to fly is something I've always wanted to do since I was a child, but I was scared away from the price tag that I was told of. However, when I came across Paramotoring and the other Ultra light air crafts, I was shocked at how inexpensive it was to learn and own your own craft. Air Adventure was able to help me out with all of this, from recommending what type of equipment to go with to high quality training taught by their teachers. Claudio is extremely experienced so learning from him and his teaching progression allowed me to feel safe through the whole schooling. The school was very well equipped with clean washroom facilities, a clubhouse to hang out in when the weather was bad, a shop to tune up the equipment and more. We were able to get a ton of training in thanks to the assistants at the school who would pick us up on golf carts to bring us back so we didn't have to haul our gear the all the way back which helped us get at least 4x the amount of flights in if there wasn't that help. The high speed winch let us learn the basics of the controls before strapping the motor to our back so we were able to learn without jumping into the deep end.
There aren't many suggestions I could give to improve anything at this school, the staff were all friendly and met some new friends there. All in all, I would highly recommend this place to anyone that is looking to get into flying as this is probably the best starting point for anyone that wants to get airborne!

Whether you want to become an ultra light pilot, have some fun or cross another thing off your bucket list, AIR ADVENTURE Flying school can definitely help you do that.
It is located near Drayton Valley with a relaxing and picturesque environment. The school has a beautiful and well-maintained camp where you can stay overnight just for $25 per night. Gerry and his wife are wonderful hosts
The school instructor Claudio offers great flying lessons for Gyroplane, ultralight trike, paramotor and paragliding. The prices are very reasonable, and you can actually finish everything right there without traveling elsewhere for the tests.

Pembina River Provincial Park is an ideal location for families to camp and enjoy a variety of activities. Situated just an hour west of Edmonton, it offers ample opportunities for outdoor fun, including floating down the river, hiking on nearby trails, and picnicking in designated areas. The river itself is safe for children to swim in and provides a sandy beach perfect for playing or relaxing. On busy weekends, there may be limited parking options available near the valley.
Love this campground! We come here every year. It’s close to Edmonton & the river is such a bonus. Majority of the sites private and nicely treed.

It's a great place for camping, floating or just spending the day. There some trails, one short one that follows the river to the campsite area.
They have picnic tables and bbq pits, as well there is a sandy enough beach to play or relax on.

We love pembina! It’s a great campground with lots of well trees sites. If you’re on the straight row near the park, all those sites back onto a long meadow with a playground. There are lots of great hikes and of course tubing down the river, when the weather is nice.
I believe the park is under new management, as the facilities used to be really clean and well kept. There are signs all over the park that the restrooms are cleaned twice daily, but we were camped right beside the restrooms and no one checked them during the 4 days we were there. They were pretty gross. The showers are free, but again, we’re not cleaned while we were there and the drains were backing up so you had no where to stand while showering. 🤢
It would be nice if this park offered programs like some of the other parks have started to do, again. With the close proximity to Edmonton, this is definitely a fantastic park to camp at!!

Have been enjoying this great campground and day use park for 25 years now , when the river is low it's great for tubing or just sitting on a rock enjoying the water , evansburg and entwistle just a couple minutes away if you need supplies, the grounds are clean and well maintained, I wish the camping season would extend into October it used to open year round as I did winter camping in a tent ... fantastic!!!! the shower house could use some updating or build another one, also dump station could be expanded, all in all a great campground!!

We stayed in the group camp area and it was beautiful! Cookhouses came in handy when it started to rain. Outhouses were wiped down daily and it was short walk to the river! Nice little campground close to town. I picked the upper half of "c" section and found the sites on the bank side very slanted. Nice family campground, people friendly but water was inaccessible (too fast/ high). Nice playground for kids. Sites very close together but overall a well maintained park (picture is one of the larger flat/serviced sites I would definitely consider if coming again

About an hour only from Edmonton, depending on which part of the city you are coming from. We used the group campground, there is a clean washroom nearby where you can also take a bath for $1 for 2 or 3 minutes I guess. Sadly when we went, the water was extremely hot it will burn your skin. Somebody came the next day to fix it, but we have not tried it since. So I cannot tell whether it is actually fixed.
The river is not that deep, so the kids would be fine wading in it or you can also go fishing in it. There are playgrounds too, and some good walking trails that even kids can do.
Overall it was a good experience, and because it is not very far from Edmonton, we would surely be back.

Love this place! Wish the woodshed was staffed, we ran out of wood in the morning and had Noone to call until it was time to go and no hours posted. Other wise great place.
I have been a couple times and I can't wait to go again! They have an efficient service that's safe and family friendly (like any great service they deserve your tips). Do yourself a favour and rent your tubes with shuttle service! They have a tube for your cooler so you can stay hydrated and keep your non-alcoholic beverages cold. I highly recommend making a reservation during the height of summer. The walk from the parking lot entrance is roughly ten minutes and slightly steep towards the end. I recommend wearing water shoes during the float. Please be courteous and take your garbage and recycling with you when you go (the tubes rental conveniently has a mesh bag attached). Fun in the sun is sure to be had, enjoy, be safe and remember your sunblock.

Really sad how poor the management is, the place has a ton of potential! We reserved a shuttle for Saturday and showed up a bit earlier than our time. The lady at the front gate has zero customer service skills, she is horrendously rude. Snarled the rules and instructions on where/how to park, etc. We parked and went to go and rent our tubes, etc. The poor girl that worked at the waiver station looked and sounded like she was there against her will. The whole place gave off a super cult like vibe - I don't know how to explain it any better! A young guy recommended which tubes we should take, he was friendly and seemed happy to be there (the only one). The girl at the payment desk also seemed to be there against her will, super robotic. Witnessed staff shouting at other patrons about their tubes and the rules, just all around a super rude and unfriendly bunch of people. Even the shuttle driver was shouting at everyone like we were children. They are very very strict and have no problem yelling at you. The river was very low when we floated, was about 4.5 hours, but definitely something that other reviewers shouldn't be complaining about, the one thing that this company does well is give you an accurate report of the river conditions and time it will take to float. Was nice going in and knowing how long of a trip to expect. Overall, Pembina River Tubing has a Joe Exotic type vibe to it (not sure how I expected any different for this business being in Entwistle *sorry, not sorry*). Would love to give them a better rating but they need some serious customer service training and to chill out!!

This place is excellent for a quick get away from the city
The staff were kind, I was hoping to get a personal experience from one of them but quite a few have never actually went down themselves.
There was 5 of us all connected and we had a blast get the extra floater for your snacks just remember ou have to hike it in especially with young ones might be longer than 20 min. We wore our tubes like Sombreros worked much easier. (Got some funny pics)
It's a 4 hour lazy float that picked up in areas 5 to 8 spots.
Pack a lunch do not pack loose items in pockets or nice footwear due to losing them in a dunk.lol. the day was hot and quiet and luckily we just missed the most crazy storm, thank goodness for the shuttle ride to our vehicle
I think this is something fun for everyone and should definitely be experienced

We had a great time tubing down the river. It used to be easier to do two runs but it seems like they charge you for everything. The line ups are long and not well organized. But once you get on the river its all worth it. Tips: Wear water shoes, park a vehicle down at campground before you go to the tubbing place, take your own tubes it works out cheaper.

Great escape from the city. Excellent organization, highly COVID aware. And then once you're on the water, you won't even think about COVID. We went on July 30 and water was pleasantly warm. Stopped at a couple beaches for a cooling dip. Lots of rapids (not scary) make it fun.
Connie Bryson — Google review
Lots of fun, try to arrive early especially on weekends. Later in the summer it is best to have a river tube, something of higher quality as the water level is lower and the rocks can puncture your raft/tube

We went there yesterday
It was awesome experience
Will go again
Staff was not rude
And we were given instructions about everything
It was easy to exit from the river too after the third bridge at the Pembina river day use area and shuttle bus was waiting for us to take us back .
We saw people bring their own tubes and I feel that’s a great idea if you plan to go for tube floating often .

Fantastic facility with theater, museum, meeting room and tourist information centre. With historic buildings and items outside along with a playground and heirloom garden, this is an interesting stop for locals and tourists alike.
Great museum in Edson. Unfortunately we did not have time to actually go into the museum, we will have to do that another time but it looks very interesting. Everything else was very good. The staff is friendly and courteous. There are public washrooms available that are clean and accessible. There is a gift shop that is very nice. The building is in a park setting so you can go for a walk if you want.

Travelling through Edson on business and utilized the museum as a co working space for a meeting. Bright professional setting, lovely natural light, free wifi and exceptional customer service. The space would make a great place for a formal event or public engagement space.

It's a pretty sweet museum. I do some volunteer work here. The displays are interesting and the staff is cool. You can learn a lot of interesting history about Edson here; there's actually quite a bit. Worth the low price.

The lady working the till didn't seem to know what she was doing but she was friendly. She immediately got help from another staff who was very friendly and extremly helpful. I would have given 5 stars if the first staff had payed attention to what I told her. The other staff was clearly listening and corrected the staff on till because I had explained twice how our group was paying and once again after the other staff came to help.

Haven’t been to their brewery but love their mountain size cans of White Raven.
Loved them so much that we carried 20 of them with us through the Bowron Lakes canoe circuit.

Good beer, nice people, and laid-back atmosphere. Had the "white raven" and the "black spruce?" And both were fresh and flavorful. Been there twice now, will definately be back. Hit it up if you want to see a nice local microbrewery.

Apex has had nothing but great service , I had an issue with a beer and they got back to me right away and explained how all there process works. It ended up being a fluke accident on my end, and they still sent me a few free 4 packs just to make sure I was happy . Great service all around ! Pilsner and kolsch beers are absolutely delicious. Happy customer!

The Hinton Bike Park is so much more than it used to be. The new Trans Mountain Sender and the extended Flow Master trail will challenge any advanced rider. Bored of the old bike park, think again. Use the Trailforks App for info and navigation. If you need a guide contact Rocky Mountain Ride Guides. The local bike shop is Vicious Cycle.

Beautiful building on the outside.
Don't let that fool you. The actual tourist and information area is a small room with nothing to look at. A few info papers. 4 postcards. Nothing else. Very dresry and disappointing.

Staff were Googling info for us, which I can also do. The one piece of information they gave without Google was incorrect:)
They also weren’t too familiar with the maps. Overall it seems that having two people work there is a complete waste; just put out the pamphlets and maps and people can figure out things from there with some Googling and calling places.

This is an excellent place to go for any information you need for any information. When asked, the employees are extremely knowlegable and are eager to give you brochures and information booklets on surrounding hikes and activities. They know the difficultiy in each of the hikes and even the condition of the roads leading to the trailheads! The reason that I gave 4 stars was because although they know a lot about the area, it seems that they can only recall infomation on these trails once directly brought up. For instance when asked if there were any cool things to see nearby, they struggled to think of any, but once I asked about the Bruleé cemetary and mountain park abandoned town, they were then able to recall all of the info I needed. So I would absolutely come here for detailed local information on trails and attractions, but I would suggest coming with a few places attractions in mind first!

Boardwalk through forest & waterways offering views of beavers, other wildlife & natural scenery.
It's so peaceful. Had a nice walk but I didn't see any beavers. But it was okay the weather was calm. There's a part of the boardwalk that was damaged and can't be strolled. I hope they can fix that.
Cleo P — Google review
Was a nice walk. Pretty views of the mashy flats. Went at 6 ish in the evening since dusk is supposed to be best to see beavers out and about. Didn't see any beavers tho 😔 but saw the dams and house that they've built. At least 3 boardwalks were closed and needed repair. Popular place for running and taking dogs for walks. 🏃♂️🐶
Pam B — Google review
A nice network of trails around the wetlands. The boardwalks made the walking easier, even on a rainy day. There were lots of birds and small animals sharing the area. There were a number of sections closed off while we were there, it looked like some repairs were needed, but this was the end of the season so that's understandable. If you're staying near Hinton this is a trail well worth visiting. You can spend either an hour or several hours and cover everything. It's perfect for an evening stroll.
Christopher Houston — Google review
Had a nice stroll along the boardwalk. Some areas are under construction but that didn't slow me down. Good area to get fresh air and exercise. Seen a couple beavers but wasn't able or quick enough to get a picture of them. A nice elevated bridge area out in the marsh. Kids would love to explore the area and I plan on taking the kids here on our next Canadian road trip.

Beautiful nature and rehabilitation scenery with a wonderful boardwalk surrounding a beaver lodge. Visit during sunrise or sunsets for the best chance at capturing a glimpse of these busy workers. People there are friendly and respectful nature lovers. A great place for a silent escape to bring family to view such an amazing natural habitat if you're ever visiting the area. Bikes (unmotorized) are also permitted.

Very nice boardwalk area. Looks to have had some recent fixes to some spots. There were some areas that we couldn't go due to a flooding event. There were lots of different birds around the area. We even got to witness a rufous humming bird sitting way up on the tips of the dead conifers.

Visited in late September and the beavers came out around 4:45pm. We saw a few of the little ones playing and climbing on the outside of the dam and one of the adult beavers was collecting grasses from the nearby shores. Probably would've seen more activity if we'd stayed later or been there around sunset, but we had dinner reservations back in Jasper

We had an RV so found off street parking at approx 440 Collinge road about 200mtrs away from start of walk, there is parking right at the entrance also with a toilet there. Wheelchair accessible track mostly. We visited twice and saw beavers there after 6pm, they put on a great show. Plenty of bird life around as well which was fantastic. We spent hours here taking it all in. You could rush around the walkways in less than an hour if you wanted to. Friendly locals who are happy to share their knowledge and eperiences with you. One of our favourite places during our 3 week stay in Canada

Very beautiful place for a stroll or hike. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because parts of the boardwalk are in severe need of repairs.
Bring your dogs but keep them on a leash.
Lots of wildlife including birds and beavers and watch out for bears and cougars and I don't mean the ones with manicured nails! 😉
Spirit Island, a small island renowned for its beauty and popular for sightseeing boat tours, offers breathtaking views of the surrounding forest and mountains. Located in Maligne Valley within Jasper National Park, this area boasts incredible sights such as Medicine Lake, Maligne Canyon, and Maligne Lake. Visitors can immerse themselves in the unique natural history of the Canadian Rockies while keeping an eye out for local wildlife.
Worth seeing! Also you may like to camp on the lake, literally next the island. Be aware that’s though that’s pretty cloudy up there and cooler.

Kayaked out here with some buddies. This is one beautiful area. The aqua blue water, mountains and glaciers make this a place to remember. You can take a tour boat out to the island if your not willing to kayak/ canoe out there!!!
Andrew Bolton — Google review
Spirit Island is one of the best places I have ever visited in my life. The place is exactly as described and even much more as one can really feel it only when you are there to experience it. Just like all the good things in life, the visit was only for 15 minutes as per the cruise schedule.
The island is island when water is more and a peninsula when water is less. There are exactly 27 trees on the island.
It is a very serene place and surely lifts ones spirits. I was happy to learn that the Canadian government has allowed the tribes to do their ceremonies after a gap of 💯 years. I'm also glad that no one is allowed to set up their feet on the island.
The vegetation in the area is very delicate and only gets four to six weeks to grow every year as summers are really short. Please visit it serenely and delicately.

The highlight of our trip! We had the most incredible experience on the Maligne Lake Cruise, a true 5-star adventure that exceeded all expectations. The history surrounding Maligne Lake is fascinating - this glacial masterpiece dates back millions of years, with depths reaching an astounding 300 meters and a temperature that'll give you chills, but the breathtaking beauty warms your soul.
As we sailed, I couldn't help but reflect on the spiritual and cultural significance of this place to the Indigenous peoples. The mountains surrounding Spirit Island hold a special energy, and visiting this iconic spot felt like a sacred pilgrimage. Speaking of Spirit Island, its history is awe-inspiring - imagine the stories it could tell of the countless visitors who've marveled at its beauty over the years.
We were able to experience this cruise through the Banff Pursuit Package, which was a fantastic decision as it significantly reduced the cost. The 1.5-hour cruise was perfectly paced, and the 20 minutes spent on Spirit Island felt like a dream.
For those planning to embark on this journey, I have a few invaluable tips. When you first board, snag a seat near the front to capture those stunning photos of Spirit Island framed by majestic mountains. After your must-have shot, head to the lower area for closer island pics - you won't believe the detail you'll capture. And don't forget the back of the boat while it's moving away from the island - the perspective is simply magical.
For the best lighting and most picturesque moments, I recommend booking the latest cruise. The way the sunlight plays with the water and mountains is truly enchanting, and your photos will be nothing short of extraordinary.

We took the cruise out to Spirit Island and had an amazing experience with great weather. Would highly recommend either renting a kayak/canoe or booking a trip on the cruise to experience being surrounded on all sides by 1 single mountain range.

A special site to visit at least once, both for photography or just to absorb the solitude and scenic beauty of the area. Every once in a while a cruise ship comes in a small crowd gathers but besides that it's an experience I highly suggest. I recommend taking a canoe, which can take more than a couple hours each way as the cruise ship time at site is very limited. Especially if you're there for photography, even the sunset cruise leaves earlier than you would probably want. A small campsite is close-by, which I was considering but I decided to hurry back on the boat instead.

On a recent trip to Jasper, we visited Maligne Lake and Spirit Island both of which are among the most amazing, breathtaking, and culturally significant sites I have visited.
Maligne Lake is a huge expanse of water surrounded by untouched wilderness that could have been an image on a postcard. The stunning views go on and on for miles before reaching Spirit Island. On the way we were informed of the history of the area, the original custodians of the land and how to best respect the area.
When we arrived at Spirit Island, we were truly speechless at its beauty. The glacial green water and picture-perfect Island are not done the justice they deserve on Instagram, and I would urge anyone who can see it in person to do so. There is something really special about the place that you can just feel, and you really can understand why the first nations people hold it in such high regard.
You could honestly spend days just gazing at the place and still never get tired of it. Nothing I can say, or any pictures would describe how amazing this place is and instead I would urge anyone who can go to just do it and see for yourself.

Amazing spot with an amazing view. The island is not really an island, but beautiful nonetheless. We went in the morning, so we didn't get very good photos as the sun was directly in front. I understand the best time to go is in the afternoon around 2:30 or 3:00.
Maligne Lake, situated in Jasper National Park, showcases stunning views of mountains and glaciers, as well as the iconic Spirit Island. This picturesque destination offers a range of customizable rides to various attractions like Medicine Lake, Maligne Canyon, Athabasca Falls, Angel Glacier, Miette Hot Springs, or Mount Edith Cavell. Along the journey, visitors can spot local wildlife and enjoy insightful commentary on the area's history and natural beauty from their guide.
It was an awesome experience! Breath-taking and stunning views. The staff, during the boat ride, did amazing job. If you're planning to go here, it's best if you go in the morning and don't be late. Use the washroom before going to the boat, it's more or less 2hrs 30mins ride back and forth. We went here Sept 16, 2021.

Maligne Lake is such a special place and truly a treasure for the area. The water is incredibly clear and beautiful. We took the 90 minute boat tour which brought us around the lake with a stop to Spirit Island. The lake was buzzing with activity including kayakers, people canoeing, boating and more. It is a stunning landscape surrounded by beautiful snow capped mountains. I wish we had more time as I would have loved to kayak, but that just means we need to take another trip there. Highly recommend ✨

Serene, peaceful and calm lake. Parking is available and Lake is near to the parking lot. It gets crowded during afternoon, so plan to come in the morning to get the spots. There are a few trails around the lake, you can enjoy walking around the lake while enjoying the beauty of the lake. We visited this lake in July and have not seen the green or turquoise colour of water like the other lakes in Banff and Jasper. But it was still beautiful and calm. It is surrounded by snow covered mountains which adds to the beauty of the lake.
A must visit place when visiting Banff and Jasper!!

Most beautiful sight we saw on our trip. Don’t miss this spot. Seriously consider canoeing if youre physically fit and can spend a full day there. The boat tour only offers you a quick view of the lake and 10 minutes at spirit island. When you canoe, you’re by yourself and on your own time. Plus you can go pass spirit island and canoe into the Hall of the Gods. Trust me, do this, it will change your life…

Very pretty and quiet. Walking on the lake in early April with snow shoes was easy, quiet, and so picturesque. Moose Lake trail was good but snowshoes weren't necessary at this point with sections being well packed down. Gray Jay came to welcome us back at the parking lot hoping for food and almost flew in the car. Don't feed them!

We spent a weekend (Summer 2021) Kayaking from the Maligne Lake Boat Launch out to Spirit Island and then ventured into the Valley of the Gods. Although we had a strong headwind on the way back, the water on the way out was glass. If you have a couple of days, skip the 1-hr rental and make a weekend out of it!

The lake is beautiful and highly recommend the maligne lake cruise. Recommend making reservations for the cruise as they do Book up. We did the 445 cruise to beat the afternoon rush plus we were hoping to see wildlife on the maligne road on the drive back as we had heard , there is more wildlife on the roads after 7 pm. We didn’t see much though but a glimpse of a bear. The drive to the lake is amazing and would highly recommend the gypsy app . Stop at medicine lake on the way, see the eagles nest and then drive on up to maligne lake. Our boat captains dalielah and Sara were awesome. Sara was a great storyteller. The spirit island is so pretty. We booked our cruise Thru our hotel. The cruise stopped at the island next to spirit island and you get to walk around for 15 mins. It rained on and off but the views were still stunning. They also have dining options before your cruise. There is a waffle hut ( closes at 4pm) and cafeteria dining and also a patio dining with a bar. Btw did you know that maligne takes its name from the French word for malignant, wicked or evil. The name was given by Father Pierre-Jean De Smet .

It's a must-visit in Jasper National Park. The lake is dazzling. The captain girl is cool and amazing.
The Sulphur Skyline Trail in Jasper National Park is a well-marked path that leads hikers through the tree line to a high mountain peak. The highlight of the trail, however, is not at the summit but at the trailhead where Miette Hot Springs await. The hike is a steady uphill climb with only one junction to navigate halfway up. Once above the trees, hikers can enjoy stunning views of the dome in the distance.
This trail marked our fourth summit conquest during our stay in Jasper, Alberta. The Sulphur Skyline hiking trail treated us to some of the most awe-inspiring panoramas we've encountered. It was indeed a challenging climb, spanning approximately 5 miles to reach the Skyline summit and back. The hike demanded about 5 hours of our time, but the vistas we encountered along the way made every step worthwhile.
Xavier K — Google review
The hike up was grueling for my group of sedentary gamers, but there are plenty of opportunities to stop as frequently as needed without obstructing the path. It is an uphill incline the entire way, and only gets steeper as you ascend. Pacing is key for those who are out of shape; many people who were walking slower than us actually beat us to the summit because they didn't have to take as many breaks. In our excitement we moved too quickly and as a result had to take breaks at every opportunity.
As you near the top, there are a couple of "wow!" moments where a break in the trees reveals how far you've come. These spots were definitely inspiring for us to keep going.
At the false summit, you are treated to an amazing view and it seems like it can't possibly get any better (but it can!). The false summit is very spacious, and is a great spot for a picnic.
Going all the way to the peak is definitely worth it, though. The last 400m is a tough climb up a steep gravel-covered slope. Hiking poles were extremely helpful here. At the peak you'll have a full 360 degree view of all the surrounding mountains, most of which were not visible at all at any point along the way.
It took us a little under 3 hours to ascend, and 1 hour to descend, but many people passed us in both directions so it can definitely be done in less time if you're fit. When we started at 9:30AM, there were only 3 other groups heading up. But on the way down the trail was getting crowded and the parking lot was completely full of cars (and bighorn sheep!). I'd recommend going early to avoid crowds at the summit.

So much fun! The view was great, smoke from nearby forest fires made it slightly less than epic. Not a difficult hike, my kids had no problem making it to the top.

Greatly recommend starting earlier to beat the rush. Beautiful summit with astonishing view of the mountain ranges. Passed an entire hockey team on the way down and 30+ other people, busy. Medium difficulty with steeper terrain nearing the summit. Hiked it Oct 1st and the top half was all snowed in.

Steep hike with beautiful views! Peek is windy, hold on to your cap and take a windbreaker. Did not see wildlife besides a crow
Kohos S — Google review
It's a steady incline all the way up. Out and back for a total of 3.5 - 4 hours. This is well worth the trip. It's a glorious panoramic at the end. You see so many social media posts from the ridge. It's rated as hard but totally doable by anyone...you can move at whatever pace you feel comfortable. There really is no difficult spot until the very end which is a bit of a scramble to get to the top. Loved the reward!
Wes Inaba — Google review
Amazing views from the top after a challenging and partly steep trail. Bring hiking boots and a warm jacket! The 4km hike (one way) with nearly 700m elevation took us 90 minutes up and 50 minutes down. We're experienced hikers.
Nina — Google review
A great hike that was a highlight of our late September weekend getaway to Jasper National Park. There is significant elevation gain on this hike, but it's very manageable if you pace yourself. If there is snow in the forecast, make sure you bring hiking poles. They kept us on our feet, even on the steep & slippery parts of the trail.
Kevin Lockert — Google review
Great hike with lots of elevation. Took us approximately 4 hours to reach the summit and back to our car. We did not do the loop, but the summit itself was amazing. Definitely recommend to bring walking sticks since there is a lot of loose gravel at the top which makes it easy to lose your footing.
Angel Avila — Google review
A busy yet beautiful hike. This is one of those hikes that you should do at least once. There aren't many hikes that are this rewarding for the "lower" amount of energy needed (when compared to hikes with similar views) Good hiking boots and poles are recommended as usual but the poles aren't necessary. It's a fairly steady uphill hike and you will want a moderate fitness level.
Brett H — Google review
Moderate to Hard trail especially the last 400m. Well worth the climb to see 360 degree view. Once you are done with the hike, you can enjoy the hot spring down at the bottom of the mountain, and all your muscle pains are instantly gone! Be warn it is not for very young kids to go, be sure you wear proper clothing as the weather can change very quickly. The day we went up, at the bottom of the mountain the temperature was 17c, up at the mountain the temp was 12-13C with very strong wind. Be sure you wear a jacket or sweater (and not just T-shirt to hike up)! The whole trail takes approx 4 hours (+/- 40mins) to complete.

Wide well defined easy to follow trail the whole way up. Starts as a gentle incline and gets steeper as you go. The last part after the meadows being by far the steepest. For us today it was 4 stars just because of the smoke. It was light when we started and was very thick when we got to the summit. We plan to return one day when there is better visibility. We recorded 9.9 KM and 671 M of elevation gain.
Ron Strauss — Google review
Steep hike worth it for amazing g views. Spectacular views from the summit! You really have to make it to the top for this trail to be worth while, as there aren't many views on the way up, but once there it's amazinging! As with most hikes I would recommend an early start, we got on the trail by 8 and shared the summit with 3 or 4 other groups, but must have passed 200 or so people headed up as we were going down.
William A. Switzer Provincial Park is a picturesque campground set amidst the pine forest and Rocky Mountain vistas in Alberta. The park offers numerous opportunities to admire the mountains as you hike along its many trails or partake in winter sports. There are seven private campsites at Graveyard Lake that remain open all year round with no services available. The scenic Kelley's bathtub is a must-see attraction in the area, offering stunning views of its surroundings.
Beautiful fall colors and scenery. No shortage of trails and hikes. Nice campgrounds and hoping to make it back during the summer when everything is open.

Great campsite, lots of space, Loop L short walk to the lakeside for some canoeing and fishing!

A great escape to wondrous mountain scenery and not-too-dense forestry throughout the silent park. Campsites are spacious and well spread out throughout the park, and wildlife is abundant in the forms of many fowl, moose, deer, cougars, and much more. A great alternative to visit if other provincial parks are busy during camping season.

The young gentleman was extremely helpful and patient at the Visitor Centre. We told him that we wanted to canoe for 1 to 2 hours and he directed us to Jarvis Lake - WONDERFUL recommendation. We had a lovely time in the water and really enjoyed the serenity of the lake - so peaceful, and we could hear the loons calling. Great trip!

Great provincial campground. The interpretive shows at Gregg Lake were so awesome. Great job Jess and Leif!
The turquoise-coloured Horseshoe Lake is a stunning spot to relax and enjoy the outdoors, with crystal clear water and a backdrop of forest and mountain. Fly fishermen can find plenty of action in the water, while swimmers can take a lazy dip in the refreshing water.
I haven't stopped here in my time spent thT I can remember. This was such a highlight stop. Consider cliff diving.

Fun and safe easy cliff jumping- less than 20 feet available, water is clear and refreshing. Definitely a great place to go relax, chill, swim around a little bit and have fun! Would highly recommend

Absolutely gorgeous lake just a short walk from the highway. The trail is clear to the lake then meanders along up and down the hillside, watch for roots and tripping hazards. The water is clear and cold but super refreshing on a hot day. If you're brave enough (or stupid enough) you can jump off the cliffs into the water. We didn't but saw others doing it; you'd definitely need to know exactly where to jump but there are places where the water is extremely deep. There is also an outhouse and garbage bins in the parking lot.

Cliff jumping is popular here despite Parks Canada advising that 2 to 3 major rescues occur here every year.

A beautiful little lake off the 93 highway. It's a short walk to the lake which makes it accessible for almost everyone. If you're adventurous, you can jump off the cliffs into the water

Horseshoe Lake is a small lake with a short trail that goes around it. The trail is easy to follow, and there are lots of nice plants and views of the blue-water lake. It's a nice place to stop, but since the trail takes so little effort to walk, it attracts the kind of people who just throw their trash on the trail. Bring a trash bag with you and pick up some to help keep these lovely places clean.

words can't describe how beautiful this place is
but hbfortubately the parking area is so small that as the day goes by poeple start parking outsode the parking lot on the side of the road

This is the perfect place to spend a hot summer day. Crystal clear (but cold) water and cliffs of varying heights for all levels of comfort. At the time there was not sign off the highway but you'll see the parking lot as you drive by. There are also signs advising not to jump into the lake but that doesn't deter most people. People have been hurt there in past years so use at your own discretion.
The Athabasca Falls, located on the Athabasca River, is renowned for its substantial water volume and the surrounding pine-forest landscape. While not the tallest waterfall in the Canadian Rockies at 23 meters high, it possesses immense power due to the glacial water forcefully passing through a narrow gorge. To safely observe and capture photos of the falls, there are platforms and walkways available; caution should be exercised as these areas can become slippery from spray.
One of the beautiful spots in Jasper national park . The trail is a very easy one with falls viewing points . Another trail to view the river was flooded and had to walk over some trees to reach the other side.
The place has picnic tables , toilets.

Breathtaking views, mistful walks & scenic beauties!
We enjoyed every bit of being there & kids had a lot of fun. Blend of mountains, tall trees & river crossing right in the middle made the visit memorable. It took us almost an hour to go around & it was hard to leave since we live to spend time close to nature.
We’ll be back soon before winter.

A very short detour off the road between Banff and Jasper. The falls is accessible from the parking and is only a couple of minutes walk. The water flow is heavy and the new between the canyon is not to be missed.

Very nice waterfall with a lot of great viewpoint. I recommend visiting this place when driving through Jasper National Park.
Rasmus Birk Knudsen — Google review
It is a relatively small waterfall. However, you can get so close up to the fall that it makes it feel special and unique.
I have seen Niagara falls many times but for some reason this small and tiny waterfall was more enjoyable.

MAKE SOME TIME AND GET OUT HERE!!! Apologies for the all caps, but this place deserves to be seen. What an absolute sight to behold. Saying this place is majestic would be an understatement. Athabasca falls is a must visit for anyone visiting Jasper National Park.
We visited the falls on a weekend and we were able to get parking even when there were a ton of cars.

It has all infrastructure for tourism, with parking lot, washrooms, signs, information about the falls. You have to walk along well-marked trails to see various parts of the waterfall. The place is really beautiful! It wasn't crowded when I went there, around 9am on friday, but there were a lot of people. The place receives buses with excursions.
We stayed for around 45 min and we didn't do the entire trail. At this time it is possible to see both sides of the waterfall and go down to see the lake where the waterfall reaches.

Beautiful waterfall and a must visit! Stunning views all around you. It was crowded even on a weekday and it’s easy to see why everyone would want to see this beauty.

Just a quick stop off the road between Banff and Jasper, you'll find a hidden gem - the Athabasca Falls! It's super easy to access from the parking lot, just a short, couple of minutes' walk. You won't want to miss it, as the water flow is strong and the view of the canyon is simply breathtaking.
Prepare to be amazed by this stunning waterfall, and the best part is, you don't have to trek for hours to enjoy it. Within just 5 minutes of walking from the parking lot, you'll find yourself in front of this natural wonder. Trust me, it's one of the most beautiful waterfalls I've ever seen!
If you're planning a trip to or from Jasper, this place is an absolute must-visit. Don't pass up the opportunity to witness the sheer beauty of this waterfall and take in the mesmerizing surroundings. You won't regret it!

The Falls themselves are beautiful! There are several view points only a few minutes from the parking lot by feet. But don‘t expect to ne alone. I would recommend getting there quite early (before 9 am!). Otherwise there is no guarantee that there is any free parking space.

Gorgeous waterfalls.. water's power on full display just like how it shows in Niagara.. rock is not weak but water is powerful.. June will be the best month to visit... you will probably walk 1.6km if you cover all spots here.. parking is very close to the waterfalls and the washrooms were not very clean but I guess they are not used properly by washroom visitors..

Very crowded but a beautiful stop to make. We almost skipped it but I'm so glad we didn't. The walk from the parking area to the falls is so short, so our 2 year old easily managed. Stayed for about 45 minutes reading plaques and taking photos.

What a great stopping point along the Icefields Parkway. There is a large parking area (including RV parking) with public bathrooms. There is a short, paved, flat trail to the falls, so it is easily accessible by all. Lots of water funnels into a small canyon. Great viewing points. Worth a stop.

My wife and I had a great time visiting this waterfall. Being so close and experiencing the falls from the viewing areas was a highlight. There was much more to see as we made our way along the paths. Very busy lots of tour buses which is to be expected. Another great memory for us.

Truly speaking an average waterfall (compared to many other river falls around the world) on the Athabasca river. Super easy to visit, a quick walk, and crowded.

It's a wonderful cascade with a big mountain in the background. A quick 5 min walk, the viewing area is rather tight but you will able to take your photos with a little patience. Do check out the other spots that lead on from the main spot. Late afternoon, close to sunset was a nice time to visit with the waterfalls in shadow and the mountain in warm light. Regular footwear is sufficient.

Time to trip back from Jasper on Sep 11, 2023. 1st stop from Lake Maligne to Motel David Thompson. Strongly felt how powerful the flowing water can be. It simply pushes away, carves or cuts everything in its way, although it takes time. Same feeling at Natural Bridge and Maligne Canyon.
The Jasper Planetarium & dark sky telescope tours offer guests the opportunity to marvel at the night sky in one of Canada's most beautiful and pristine locations. The planetarium offers hourly shows featuring Saturn, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune. The dark sky telescope tour takes visitors on a guided tour of various galaxies including the Milky Way as well as unique star clusters and nebulas.
5 stars because I saw more than 5 stars, 5 galaxies and 5 meteorites - PS there’s also a warm fire with awesome staff to keep you knowledgeable about space ;)

Such a cool experience! We did the show and stargazing and both were very informative and kid friendly. The guides were so knowledgeable and positive making the experience very enjoyable. We lucked out and got to see the northern lights! The later stargazing is better if you want to see a lot!

We had Jamin as our guide and he was FANTASTIC, the perfect dramatic celestial voice needed to whisk you across the universe. Despite the cold, the whole experience was amazing and we lucked out with absolutely crystal clear night! Seeing the different stars and nebulae through the telescopes was super cool and the dome show was very well done. Also loved that they incorporated the Indigenous perspective and would love to come back for a full night of Indigenous astronomy! A great activity for all ages.

What a fantastic intimate experience! Our guide Naomi was outstanding. Her depth of knowledge and friendliness made our 45 minute long (7:45 to 8:30pm) event on 20 June 2022 a huge success. The show inside the dome was wonderful! Naomi will remember me as I had a conversation with her about my 6 1/2 month stay near the North Pole.

We went last week (sunset is around 10:30). The first night we reserved, there were thick clouds so we weren't able to see anything but they still presented you with a lot of useful information. We asked if we could come back the following night. So the following night the sky was a little more clear and Shane showed us a couple of things. Everyone was really nice and helpful and knowledgeable. Shane answered a lot of my questions, was very patient and accommodating. The weather is unpredictable, but I'd still recommend everyone to give it a try when they are in Jasper!

Amazing experience for our family!
We loved every minute of this adventure! The staff were astrophysicists with knowledge that they could not only share but teach my small kids! We got to see the Andromeda galaxy! The planetarium dome was a fun feature with a really cool aboriginal story about the Ursa Major aka Big Bear constellation that tied everything together. We got to go through space to see the planets, asteroid belt, galaxies and more on a huge overhead dome screen. For the telescope portion, we got to touch and look at a meteorite fragment, moon rock and rocks from other planets. Very cool experience and one we won’t forget! We had to grab a book from the gift shop on the way out, “The Space Adventurers Guide.” Highly recommend! Thank you to the Darksky Team at the Jasper Planetarium for making it so enjoyable for my family!! You guys are awesome and definitely the coolest “nerds” I know. 😉

Attended a 11pm time slot for the Jasper Planetarium and it was an absolutely great experience. My partner and I have always wanted to look up at the night sky and see many stars but with the light pollution in Toronto its very difficult.
All of the team members, Sophie, Shane, Katrina, Kaitlyn, Miguel and everyone else working at the planetarium are extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. They are also curious about the night sky like all of us. I would highly recommend if you are looking for amazing shots of the moon, Vega star, even the rainbow donut - to go on a clear nights sky and take in all of the amazing shots of our little twinkle neighbours.

Wow!!!
Rustic, informative, genuinely perfect for the group of us that went.
Dress warmly (recommend a lap quilt for the dome), pick a clear night, and try to find that childlike wonder inside of you.
We saw beautiful constellations, nebulas, and an excellent display of Northern Lights.
We had an absolutely fantastic time. If you aren't driving or staying at Fairmont, it is a 26$ cab ride one way from downtown. So best to go with a group !

We did the new "nightly stargazing" from Whistlers campground and had an amazing experience! The guides from the planetarium showed us the moon trough a telescope, shared many interesting facts about our universe and had us look through different telescopes to see different kind of stars and planets. Really nice experience! Just remember to bring mosquito repellent, because they will come for you in that open field ;)

Total rip-off and 240 cad gone through the drain. I don't know where to start writing about such services in canada, there is a sense of entitlement in every services if you notice. They make you feel like you've not paid for that but rather they are doing you a favor. The "cartoonish inflatable dome" was the planetarium...yes you read it right, there is no real planetarium, but rather a tent like dome, inside which you are displayed some ppt slides and they do you a favor by giving you some camping chairs to sit on. My kid has a similar dome planetarium displayed at the high school for $5...but we paid $250 for 3 people. Its daylight robbery and apart from that the main attraction of dark sky preserve was canceled at the last moment and gave a partial refund.
The entire span we had to stand and listen to some kindergarten level space info, which was hilarious and boring. We started having back pain after 45 to 50 minutes of standing and we saw a lot of senior citizens who were really annoyed by this kind of SUBSTANDARD quality that was advertised as something else.
Not your moneys worth and not recommend. Save your hard earned money. If your standard of expectations is low, you'll like it maybe!!
And I remember one of the guys doing the kindergarten narrative for the planetarium, he had some really pathetic jokes...among them I remember he said, "Do you know why aliens don't visit earth?"...because we have 1 star, ha ha ha....guess what? the entire planetarium scam deserves the same 😂

This was an amazing experience! Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. I was very moved during the planetarium experience- the person who narrated was fantastic (maybe Tyler? so sorry I can't remember but we were there on 9/10/2023 for the last evening time). Will V. also spent some extra time with us at the end answering questions, that was very much appreciated. I only wish we all could have seen the fireball ;)

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Jasper Planetarium in Jasper, Canada, and I must say it was an incredible experience. The tour guides, Tyler, Devin, Miguel, Will (I think was his name), and Peter, were absolutely fantastic. Their knowledge and passion for astronomy were evident throughout the tour.
Each guide brought a unique perspective and added depth to the journey through the universe. They expertly navigated complex concepts, making them accessible and engaging for everyone in the group. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and their ability to answer questions and provide insightful explanations was remarkable.
Overall, I highly recommend the Jasper Planetarium to anyone interested in astronomy or simply looking for an unforgettable experience. Make sure to go with questions and curiosity!!

First off, this has nothing to do with the staff-they were amazing, enthusiastic and very friendly. With the AMOUNT OF MONEY PAID for this experience, we assumed there would be a much more interactive, in depth educational experience. I’m not going to leave a long rant as there already are a few. Basically, you could go to a school science fair and learn more about space than we did on this tour. The sky was clouded over so we didn’t get to look through the telescopes (no one’s fault). I would’ve paid maybe $20 for this experience. I hope the extra money that isn’t paying the amazing staff goes towards improving infrastructure and NOT the Fairmont Lodge. The largest accessible dark sky preserve should have more to offer.

Great experience, but it's a little pricey for what you actually get. It is a small, set-up planetarium that seats about 20 people, and after the planetarium, there was a telescope and a space exploration via a PowerPoint presentation.

My husband and I went here last September and we both enjoyed the Dome experience and though it was too cloudy that night we were still able to enjoy the stargazing experience thanks to all their amazing staff, they were all knowledgeable and entertaining. They also had a 2 year rain check in case the weather is not great for stargazing, which is amazing because in October we were able to come back with our son. Our son had an amazing night and a stargazing experience too. He enjoyed seeing the stars and planets through the telescopes and he also got to try pointing the laser up in the sky (thanks to Miguel for letting the kids participate that night, that was so kind of him). It was an overall amazing experience and worth paying for.

My boyfriend and I went here this past weekend for his birthday. Absolutely amazing experience! The planetarium done was super cool, very educational, but did want to note that the speakers used to hear our guide were quite loud, bit louder than needed in my opinion but was amazing despite that.

Overall, 10/10 experience, amazing thing to do for anyone of any age. Absolutely recommend this on your next trip to Jasper!

A very nice lake to take a canoe on and paddle around. Parking unfortunately is rather sparse and it can get quite busy. They have different types of watercraft and the only motorized is an electric boat which is nice for keeping it peaceful. We took a canoe out for an hour and that was plenty. They also have kayaks, paddle boats, row boats and a motorized family carrier.
