The top cities between Edmonton and Moab are Calgary, Salt Lake City, Park City, Glacier National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Drumheller, Jackson, West Yellowstone, Bozeman, and Canmore. Calgary is the most popular city on the route. It's 3 hours from Edmonton and 17 hours from Moab.
Calgary, a diverse city in Alberta known for its towering buildings, owes much of its growth to being the hub of Canada's oil industry. Despite this, it has maintained its western culture, earning the nickname "Cowtown," which is evident during the Calgary Stampede held every July. On the way to Calgary from Banff lies Canmore, a charming town with fewer tourists than Banff and serves as a gateway to Kananaskis country - an ideal spot for hiking in the Rockies.
Located in the northeastern part of Alberta, Canada, Drumheller is a town known for its rich geological heritage and coal-mining history. The Royal Tyrrell Museum houses an impressive collection of dinosaur fossils while the Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site offers insights into the area's coal-mining past. Visitors can climb stairs inside the jaw of the "World's Largest Dinosaur," a massive T-Rex model located in downtown Drumheller.

Canmore is a charming town located in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta, situated west of Calgary. It boasts stunning craggy peaks such as Ha Ling Peak and Three Sisters. Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park offers diverse activities like cross-country skiing and mountain biking, while Grassi Lakes Trail leads you to two beautiful turquoise blue lakes. Grotto Canyon features steep limestone walls that flank a narrow creek bed leading into a cave.
The park is home to towering mountain peaks, crystal-clear lakes, and miles of hiking trails that allow visitors to get closer to hundreds of wildlife species. The park was christened the 10th national park in 1910 and is located in Northwestern Montana in the Rocky Mountains.
What a majestic place!
We spent 7 days in this wonderful national park and we enjoyed every single minute. Going to the sun road is amazing and very reminiscent of Switzerland. The campgrounds are full in August and make sure you reserve you camping spot several months before your trip. I saw multiple cars driving around looking for a camping spot with no luck. If you love hiking, Highline trail is beautiful for sight seeing and observing the wild animals. The hike can take 10-12 hrs depending on how fast you are and on the hike conditions. We did in August and some spots had snow on the ground due to recent snow storm. Also, you can park the car at the end of the trail and take the shuttle to Logan pass and start the hike there. Make sure you check the shuttle hours since they vary. In addition, keep in mind that going to the sun road is closed from September til early June. My favorite part of the park is the Many Glacier side and we stayed at the Swiss Lodge which is worth to stay at least one night if they have availability. There is another gorgeous hike from many lake to the glacier but you need to take the boat pass or wake up earlier and hike two lake before you get to real hike.

This has to be one of the best national parks EVER. There is so much to do, with over a hundred miles of glaciers, waterfalls and more. The campgrounds are very shaded and are VERY popular so book your site in advance! No matter where you stay or what you do Glacier National Park, it is breathtaking for all.

Glacier is truly the best national park in the country, hands down. The beauty and wildlife speaks for itself, I’ll let the photos do that job. But what Glacier does best is traffic maintenance. They do a phenomenal job managing the reservation and permit process in order to keep the beautiful landscape pristine and free of crowds. I know people get frustrated with the reservation competitiveness, but it’s a necessity for a park this popular, and they really do it better than anyone else. It’s fair and accessible and easy to do if you know what you’re doing. We never had issues getting campsites or vehicle reservations and we went in peak season.
This place is massive and you could spend a lifetime exploring it. We spent a week in east glacier and a few days in west. East is better by far. Better hikes and scenery, more wildlife, and no crowds. But the amenities of of the west were nice. Grinnell Glacier is a must do hike, and you must take a dip in the glacier lake. We will definitely be back.

The 15,000+ reviews speak for themselves. You want to experience this gem of a National park while the glaciers are still here.
Notice that all negative reviews are from visitors who have not spent a minute researching the proper procedure of entering. We have made several cross-country road trips and have entered and exited the park many times without ever having a problem. The National Park Entrance is open 24 hours, all year round, and will give you access to the Going-To-The-Sun Road from the west side. This is one of the most epic routes in the country, so you don’t want to miss this! HOWEVER, you need to book an online reservation to get in, and the slots are open from May 27 to September 11, 2022. This is a simple procedure that is done online. Do this, and you won’t have a problem entering.
The entrance fee is about $35, but we recommend the annual National Park Pass, which is $80, because you can enter unlimited and visit all National Parks. Both are very fair prices for such a unique experience and important place for our environment.
Also, bring water, food/snacks and a sun hat. You can easily forget time and wander the entire day.

First time to Glacier National Park and it won’t be the last! What a beautiful place to see. So many hiking trails, waterfalls, pullover lookouts. Great place to bring a bike. Great place to camp. It’s a bucket list must see for anyone who enjoys the beauty of the planet we live on. Amazing place.

Glacier National Park is absolutely breath taking. If you love nature and hiking, you have to visit this place once in lifetime. It is mainly a hiking park but if you are not a hiker, you can still visit it for a couple of days. Going to the sun road is amazing and you need reservations for it. Even if you don't book it months in advance, they book a few couple of days in advance. You can stay in whitefish and drive to the park if you don't find any accommodations in the park. Whitefish has some good lodging and dining options.

Amazing mountains and views and lakes, even though you don’t see a lot of “Glaciers”! You MUST have a vehicle registration to get into the park, in addition to paying to get in! This has to be done on-line the day before, and you are not guaranteed to get one! If you done get one, get to the park well before 6am and the gates are open, and while it’s an early morning for you, it gets you into the park. Once in, go to Logan’s Pass. There are some great hikes from there (hidden valley lake trail) but the parking lots fills up very fast! The Lake McDonald Lodge is cool to stay at, eat, or take a boat ride. Also, boat rides leave out of Sunrise by the St Mary’s visitor center. The visitor centers do not have food. Bring your own food and drinks in a cooler in your car! Consider taking the bus that takes you throughout the park. It’s a hop on, hop off bus and saves you the hassle of parking if it’s crowded!
Go and enjoy the spectacular views!

Pictures don’t do this INCREDIBLE destination justice. It is absolutely breathtaking and unbelievably beautiful! It’s an incredibly special spot for me too as my husband proposed to me at the top!!! We went in mid September and it was the perfect time to go. Be prepared to be in awe with each turn!!!

This place is amazing, the mountains are unbelievable. Would 100% go here again. On the drive, we saw multiple mountain goats too, so that was really cool. It is additionally very fun to hike at, and some of the views are just amazing. 5 Stars, would go again.

Wow. Truly breathtaking. My absolutely most favorite park, ever. There are not enough pictures that could describe the beauty this park holds and is. There are so many waterfalls, hiking trails, and gorgeous scenery, that you can spend a week here easily. The west side of the park looks like the pictures, and the east is a bit more dry, but still gorgeous. Very highly recommend. If you don’t want to pay the park fees, you can enter before and after hours as well! (Check their website if they are still doing this) At the top, there is a very popular trail, but the parking lot is very full quickly, so be prepared to go very early or after hours if you want yo get a good parking spot. They do not allow dogs on trails though, so keep that in mind if you travel with yours. Overall amazing park and experience.

The park was incredibly crowded when we visited in mid-July. It was almost impossible to find parking at any location after 8 am. Arrive very early if you want more ease in that respect. We had a little haze from the Canadian fires, but other than that, it was absolutely spectacular!!

Its on the top of the list among the National parks I visited. Grinnell lake overlook is a must must hike, would definitely come back for it.
Other things we did were going-to-sun-road, Avalanche lake hike(trail of ciders), hidden lake hike, motor boat at lake McDonald.
Its a must visit place, with all majestic views everywhere.

One of the top National Parks, absolutely amazing. Beautiful views, scenic vistas, towering peaks, has it all. Road to the sun is a great drive, but do it EARLY! We started at 6am and had no problems finding parking or stopping to take pics. On the way back, by 10am, everything was packed, no parking.
Don't forget the car pass and bring snacks and water!

This is one of the best national parks I have ever been to. It’s so beautiful and the timing was just so perfect as we went during the beginning of fall colors. The snow just started on the mountains, the white mountains, fall colors , water green trees and some bears. Will be back here sometime so that I could see the place more beautifully

Stunning beautiful mountains and lakes! We were fortunate to be able to take the Going-to-the-Sun-Road which is almost a 50 mile drive each way. It reaches a height of 6646 and is a narrow two lane highway cut on the mountain sides offering panoramic views of the valley below and the jagged opposing mountains shaped by previous glaciation. Every turn seems to offer a must see perspective, so take your time, pull over and take it in.

An absolutely dream come true! I always dreamed of visiting Montana and it did not disappoint. I was shocked at how clean the state was. It was pristine and awe inspiring. Although I am afraid of heights, I trekked up the mountains and was left breathless with wonder at the beauty of the scenery. We have nothing like this back home in Delaware. If not for all my family living on the East Coast, I'd pack my bags and move to Montana in a heartbeat.

West Yellowstone is a municipality located in the southern part of Montana, serving as an entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The park is popular for its exceptional features such as the massive Old Faithful geyser and the impressive Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. It's also home to various wildlife species like elk and bison. Additionally, visitors can explore Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center which provides an opportunity to observe bears and wolves up close.
Grand Teton National Park is a world-renowned natural wonder, with plenty of hiking trails and opportunities for swimming and rafting in its dramatic valleys and mountains. With unparalleled views of the Tetons, it's one of the must-see attractions in Jackson Hole.
One of the best national parks! Mountains, lakes, streams, waterfalls, moose, elk, bears, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, camping, and so much more. Hiking the canyons is especially amazing. My highlights were Cascade Canyon, Lake Solitude (ironically very busy), the Schoolroom Glacier, and canoeing Leigh/String Lakes.

Absolutely beautiful place! This area is one of the most gorgeous sites in the world. It offers stunning views but amazing hiking as well that accommodates any level. Cascade Canyon is a very tranquil place. Jenny Lake is always really crowded so best to come early.

Military/Veterans make sure to get your free pass to all national parks so you can your family can save the $35 to enter. A great park overshadowed by its more popular brother north of it. Definitely more of a hiking park than a sightseeing one. Most of the picturesque views require at least some hiking instead of just parking and a brisk walk like other parks.
Jordan Gonzalez — Google review
What an incredible park! The mountain range is absolutely stunning! Sunrise should be spent at Schwabacher Trail and Jenny Lake is a must visit. Check in on the boat shuttle at Jenny Lake before planning some trails around the area. There's plenty of moose at Moose Junction and you'll catch a bear or two at sundown! Take a nice drive or bike ride down the scenic road near Jenny Lake.

It’s a gorgeous park, but I highly recommend any visitors to try to go during the weekday. The weekend is crowded, which dims the joy of being outdoors. The road ways are straightforward and easy to follow.

One of our top national parks. It’s also a short drive from our RV Park “The Park at Swan Valley”.
So many great hikes around Jenny Lake. We hiked round trip to the falls and didn’t do the ferry. Our 3 1/2 yr old walked most of the way on that hike

Rising above a scene rich with extraordinary wildlife, pristine lakes, and alpine terrain, the Teton Range stands as a monument to the people who fought to protect it. These are mountains of the imagination. Mountains that led to the creation of Grand Teton National Park where you can explore over two hundred miles of trails, float the Snake River, and enjoy the serenity of this remarkable place.

Beautiful country. Great camping. Nice people. Amazing mountains. There is a fee to enter the main park, but I had an America the Beautiful pass that got me in. So I'm not sure what the fee is. I think $10 per car.

I believe it is a 35 dollar cost to enter the park unless you have a national park pass.
The park is just beautiful. The mountains are stunning. There was not a spot we went to that was not stunning. Saw some deer and elk having some breakfast on the side of the road. Jenny Lake is as stunning as the mountains. I highly recommend spending some time admiring the beauty of this national park

We loved this National Park! Wish we could have spent more time here! We visited in mid-June and the weather was great. We enjoyed using our stand up paddle board at String Lake (make sure you get the proper inspection first!), and we very much appreciated the miles of paved bike paths that we were able to safely ride along with our two young kids in their bike trailer. Can't wait to return when they're older to try some of the incredible hikes!

Loved, loved, loved it! So beautiful! Highly recommend everyone to find a way to get here. Jennie Lake is crystal clear and irresistible, bring your bathing suit. Picnic areas are nice and lots of pull offs.

I’ve been hiking these mountains since I was a kid. One of the most beautiful places to visit, and if you can avoid the touristy seasons by going in September or October it’s even better. Highly recommend the Cascade Canyon hikes all the way up to Hurricane Pass, or coming from the Idaho side and visiting Table Mountain. Not easy hikes but backpacking in Alaska Basin was also an awesome experience.

Last year my wife and I went to the Teton mountains, we had planned this trip in 2022 and it just so happened to be my 50th. anniversary of visiting the park for the first time as a teenager. The Tetons are my most favorite mountain range ever since that 1973 family vacation and I named my first dog a Wolf/Husky hybrid after those mountains. It was a 14 day trip as we took our time going out there and spending a week in the park. We also did the Lake Solitude hike as well. Wyoming is one of my favorite states, I guess there's a bit of Cowboy in me. We'll eventually go out west again and maybe go through the park just to get another fix of the splendid grandeur.

Whether you're hiking through pristine forests, picnicking by a tranquil lake, or simply taking in the breathtaking vistas from a scenic overlook, every moment spent here is a testament to the unparalleled beauty of nature.

Grand Teton National Park is a winter wonderland not to be missed. Snow-capped peaks, frozen lakes, We only did Jenny lake and Taggert lake. I loved the serene forests that create a magical scene. Enjoy activities like snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, my friend and I hiked 15 miles total, dress cozy. One of the most majestic places on this planet and also one of the most underrated national parks in the US simply because it's next to Yellowstone. A few tips for visitors:
1) Summer is a good time to visit but it's very crowded. Late fall to early winter is the best time because you have less crowds but roads are still open and you see lots of undisturbed wildlife.
2) Lodging gets expensive in spring and summer so book ahead. Jackson Hole is expensive so you can try the nearby small towns.
Jackson, located in Wyoming's Jackson Hole valley, boasts three major ski resorts: Snow King Mountain Resort, Grand Targhee Resort, and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Visitors can take in the unique architecture of the Town Square featuring arches made from antlers sourced from the nearby National Elk Refuge. Art enthusiasts will appreciate a visit to the National Museum of Wildlife Art which showcases pieces by famed artists such as Andy Warhol and Georgia O’Keeffe.
Park City is a city located to the east of Salt Lake City in Utah. It is known for its ski slopes, with Deer Valley Resort and Park City Mountain Resort being two popular options for skiing enthusiasts. The town also boasts of hosting the Sundance Film Festival and was home to the 2002 Winter Olympics held at the Utah Olympic Park, which now primarily serves as a training facility. Main Street features historic buildings constructed during a silver mining boom in the 19th century.
Salt Lake City, located in Utah, is a populous city and the state's capital. It also serves as the seat of Salt Lake County which happens to be its most populous county. The city has a population of around 199,723 people in 2020 and acts as the heart of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area with a total population of about 1,257,936 individuals. Visitors may experience an insect problem while driving across Syracuse's causeway due to bugs covering windshields.

Best stops along Edmonton to Moab drive
The top stops along the way from Edmonton to Moab (with short detours) are Temple Square, Going-to-the-Sun Rd, and Royal Tyrrell Museum. Other popular stops include Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center, Grand Teton, and Deer Valley Resort.
The Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology is a world-renowned museum that specializes in dinosaurs and fossils. The exhibits are so amazing, even people who don't have an interest in dinosaurs will leave feeling like they're missing their calling as paleontologists. Some of the most famous specimens on display include 'Hell-Boy' and 'Black Beauty'.
This was such a fun experience. Fun for the whole family no matter their age. Would recommend to everyone. It'll take a couple of hours at least to see everything. They rotate their exhibits every so often because there are just so many pieces. You can even see people work on some of the pieces too which is neat. The staff is also friendly too. There's even a cafeteria inside as well if you need a drink or a snack.
James Watters — Google review
Great place to visit now and then, some of the exhibits have been updated to be motion operated rather than button operated which is a bonus these days! Kids 6 and under are free and there is a kids section with interactive puzzles and viewing gadgets! They are currently building an addition to the front of the building so you will have to walk around the construction area to get to the lobby, which can be a cold walk in the winter. Otherwise it's the same museum it's been for many years, very well maintained.

I can not truly put into words how amazing this place is.
We visited on a Monday during term-time, so the crowds weren't too bad inside.
There was no queue to enter as multiple staff were handling ticket sales smoothly and efficiently.
There was good parking, and the grounds were well maintained.
The inside of the building was immaculate, all glass displays were spotless, and every interactive exhibit was in perfect working order.
The layout of the museum is brilliant. It guides you through each exhibit in a way n which you don't miss a single thing.
There is an abundance of seating for regular rests: This was very useful for myself personally.
The toilets were accessible and clean and placed strategically throughout the museum.
The information on each specimen offered a perfect balance in terms of readability. The information was succinct and to the point, making it accessible for children and adults alike.
There was a lot to do to entertain children! We saw children walking around with quiz sheets, and there are lots of interactive areas, videos, and a section dedicated to interactive play and exploration.
I could have spent a whole day here and still not see everything! It's definitely a place I will return to on my next visit to Canada!
As is normal for museums, it was an exit through the gift shop: I found there to be a large variety of gifts and souvenirs with something to meet all budgets!
This place is suitable for all ages, and the entry fee was very reasonable considering the wealth of fossils on display.
The cleanliness and accessibility of the museum was very impressive.
Strongly recommend anyone to visit!

Dinosaurs are cool. Lots of information in this place. Lots to take in. Spent 3 hours here just looking around. So much to see. Totally worth the cost of admission. The staff is great. Lots to see and do here. I would go again!!
The only reason it's only 4 stars instead of 5 is all the noisy people talking about nothing to do with the exhibits (don't care about your personal life Karen) and getting in the way of those trying to enjoy the experience. Shame some of the visitors are ignorant of how to behave in public.

I loved this place so much. Very educational and mind-blowing. I have never thought that I could appreciate Earth and dinosaurs more, but after visiting the museum, I was left speechless. I love it how they have marked original and cast on the display so we can know they are not deceiving the public.

This museum is informative, fun, and immersive without being tacky. It's really fascinating to learn about dinosaurs and see the displays so clearly labeled. There's some interactive play space for children to get more hands on experiences. Also to watch the paleontologists work diligently at uncovering fossils was interesting. There are lockers on site and a cafeteria. No food or water in the exhibit. The gift shop isn't atrociously expensive. My kids enjoyed themselves.

Amazing museum that we enjoy visiting as a family. Kids always love coming from when they were 2 years old until now (almost 10).
Very engaging exhibits to walkthrough. The museum is set up really well where it keeps all people walking in one direction and everything is built using ramps which makes it excellent for wheelchairs and strollers.
Each time we visit we learn so much! Definitely recommend taking workshops when offered in the warmer months... We still talk about the casting one!

Fun place to take adults and children to learn about the history of the dinosaurs. Amazing well placed exhibits. Great descriptions. Easy to find your way around. Staff are relatively helpful, but don't seem very happy... I would have given a five star, but the rest room outside the cafeteria was super small and no tissue available in a couple of the ladies stalls.

Good place for kids, very informative and entertaining. It has lots of artifacts and fossils to see. It also has interactive exhibits that could be interesting kids as well as adults. It also has a small gift shop where you could buy dinosaur and fossil themed t-shirts, rings, playing cards, magnets and other gift items and keepsakes.

This museum is worth every dollar. It takes you back and opens your mind to imagine what these animals lives were like. The museum's set up to start in the oldest to newest eras was awesome. From the oldest to newest, with so many specimens and species. Historical facts, pictures and videos compliment the displays. Some show a Trex how they would be attacking prey and eating it. Even sea creatures are represented with one entire room set up as if you are under water. It was spectacular.10 out 10

A beautiful display of fossils from around the world. The museum has done an excellent job explaining the history and significance for each finding. We came on a Sunday afternoon, there was no wait and we bought tickets on the spot. Expect to spend about 2 hours here going at a steady pace without kids. With kids you could spend 4 hours here easily. There are pretty views of the badlands and hiking trails at the top of the stairs outside. Inside, be sure to check out the greenhouse area - it's tucked away and easy to miss if you're not paying attention.

Haven’t been back since 2005 so it was a fun nostalgia trip. Lots of exhibits and fossils to see. Went on a Saturday at 1 pm and it was fairly busy but not so busy that you couldn’t find parking or couldn’t take single photos without people in the back. Definitely didn’t have to worry about tickets being sold out either.
Definitely had as much fun now as I did when I was 10. And crazy enough, they still had the small plush I bought when I was a kid in their gift store. I absolutely loved the dinosaur plush but lost it. It rocked my world to see it again and to be able to purchase and own it again as a part of history.

An Alberta staple!
The museum is constantly updating and improving the education and knowledge they provide! I was able to bring some friends from out of the province to explore the fossils and Badlands. Luckily it was not too busy as we went on a Tuesday morning and most of the other patrons were young families. I recommend bringing a water bottle and snacks as they do have a cafe, but it's not in the loop of all the exhibits but at the end. If you're going during the summer pack good shoes and sunscreen! The park around the museum is beautiful but very warm.
There was construction at the front of the museum when we went and it was a little confusing to find the entrance but we found it eventually.

A world class fossil exhibit just an hour and a half’s drive from Calgary! This is a must visit if you’re in Alberta, the fossils on display are incredible, showcased in equally stunning environments. The building itself is well maintained, with clean and well thought out interior. Each area is divided based on time period and dinosaur families, which makes the visit structured and educational. There are boards which provide useful information about each species along with self guided tours which you can follow to learn more! Trust me you will be blown away by the Dinos shown in this museum. There is even a gift shop at the end of the path to buy souvenirs and goodies. The pricing is fair for the visit and parking is plentiful outside. Do not miss this attraction, it’s one of the best in Canada!

I made the trip from Calgary with a friend specifically to visit this location. Adult entry is $21, and it takes approximately 2.5-3hours to tour the museum. If you love dinosaurs this place is amazing. At times the exhibits seemed a bit crowded, as though they needed more room.
There is a nice informative walking trail outside that gives information about the Alberta badlands.
Definitely worth the visit for dinosaur lovers and enthusiasts.

An absolute must-see museum for any museum or dinosaur fanatic. It boasts a great collection with lots of information. A great glimpse into our worlds past. There are interactive stations to keep kids engaged. Restrooms are clean and staff is friendly. There is a big gift shop with an array of different souvenirs to buy. The Cafe has a decent selection of food.

One of the best museums in the world. The collection is immense with many original pieces.
The walk through evolutionary time is fantastic.
The kids and adults all really enjoyed the museum. Highly recommended.
We took about 4 hours in the museum. One child decided to do the fossil casting which added 45 minutes to the trip. She learned s lot, got to hold fossils, and made a fossil cast. It was well worth the $10 ticket, plus one paying adult to have her experience the program.

What an incredible experience! The Royal Tyrrell Museum is a treasure trove of information and history. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that this was a well-curated, thoughtful exhibit designed to engage visitors of all ages.
There's so much to see and read that we quickly realized one hour would not suffice. My advice to future visitors: allocate plenty of time to truly immerse yourself in the wealth of knowledge the museum has to offer. Whether you're a history buff or just curious, there's something for everyone here.
The kids were absolutely thrilled with the interactive exhibits, while the adults found the detailed information and historical context fascinating. It's a great outing for families, but also appealing to anyone with an interest in paleontology or natural history.
In short, we all left feeling satisfied and a whole lot smarter. A must-visit if you're in Drumheller!

Stellar! If you’re big on fossils and history then this is the place for you! I had a great time learning and looking at what creatures roamed the world millions of years ago. The atmosphere and vibe were awesome; appropriate for the setting. I recommend purchasing tickets beforehand, our wait was a tad bit long but it wasn’t a problem. Overall, this is a phenomenal museum that ticks all the boxes, leaving me more than satisfied with my visit.

My son has wanted to be a palaeontologist for years so we went to the Royal Tyrrell Museum to see what he could learn. We paid extra for the small group experiences (one is in the video) and they were worth the time and money. Extensive collection of fossils and beautifully displayed. We made some wonderful memories here and I’m so glad we came.

About 90 minutes outside of Calgary. Well worth the drive. Amazing landscape in the geographic area! The museum itself was beautiful. A lot of work has been done to educate visitors about the province of Alberta, the artifacts found as well as who found them and when. So glad we made the trip.

This museum was the main reason for our visit , our third time. Came on the Monday after Easter Sunday and it was not busy at all, which was nice compared to our other times here. I am so impressed with how well done the whole museum is, very much worth the trip out from Calgary. I always say I’d like to come on my own and read more while there as my kids kind of rush through! Lots of options in their cafe as well if you have to stay for lunch.

Mind-blowing. One of the best museums in North America I've ever been to. Lots of exhibits and interesting displays, allowing us to spend at least 3 hours to explore. We enjoyed the time and appreciated the efforts and works that all the researchers and staff put together. Worthwhile to make a visit.

Always a favorite place for our family for decades! Glad to share this with my kid now. Great place and the new improvements to the interpretive trail are awesome as well as to the rest of the museum. We did a Dino dig too with them once and it was worth it. Displays the history of Dinosaurs and Alberta very well. We truly are the place where most things dinosaur happened.

1500 N Dinosaur Trail, Drumheller, AB T0J 0Y0, Canada
The Hoodoos Trail is a hiking trail in the Badlands of Drumheller, Alberta, that features otherworldly sandstone pillars with rock caps. The Hoodoos are synonymous with the Badlands, and there are some located only 14 kilometers (8.7 miles) from Drumheller!. The Hoodoos Trail is a short but scenic hike that will take you to one of the most photographed spots in the Badlands.
This place is awesome! The Hoodoos are easy to see from the road, and there's nice stairs that take you up closer. The hike/climb to the top is very steep and is all loose dirt so it's quite difficult, but the view from the top is beautiful
Ryan Braun — Google review
Amazing & very unique rock formations. Beautiful place to go for a quick stop. Both view from bottom & top are very nice. Hiking boots or shoes with good grip are recommended to climb up as there are loose sands & small gravels. Went on a Tuesday noon & was surprisingly busy. Only a couple of parking stalls were available.
Marie-Cel and Rico — Google review
The scale of the hoodoos looks massive from pictures, which actually is very small.
I expected this to be magnificent, but none the less, these badlands are wonderful anyway ! :)
If visiting during day, it gets very hot. So ensure applying good sunscreens, wear caps and protect yourself.
Consider hiking for better views from top.
It is worth a visit if visiting Drumhellar.
Devaki Kanade — Google review
Unique and beautiful landscape. We reached here around 7pm and there were very less people on the trail. There are steep climbs on this trail which can be hard but scenes from top are amazing.
Jyeshta Noronha — Google review
We visited this popular place since we visited the Royal Tyrell Museum, just 22 kms northwest.
Because of the natural erosion of rocks for hundreds of years due to wind and rain, this geographical wonder looks as if some architects have carved out the mountains and created beautiful designs and sculptures.
The sight of unbelievably alluring landscape which has a few sandstone pillars with rock caps and a variety of carvings is stunning; the phenomenal, imposing badlands are inviting and able to exhilarate people of all ages.
The metallic staircase is fairly easy to climb, and it provides magnificent alpine views of the eroded mountains.
For want of time, we could not explore the trails that lead to higher peaks, but I intend to visit once again to do so.
Parking and entry is free of cost at this wonderful, must visit tourist attraction in Drumheller, about 140 minute drive east of Calgary.

We arrived at the Calgary airport and drove straight to Drumheller. After supper we had energy and thought we’d check out the hoodoos. Easy drive from Drumheller, lots of parking available around sundown, a few mosquitoes (bring bug spray if you’re sensitive). It was a nice little walk around the site and very cool to see. My son (12) enjoyed it.
Jennifer Bee — Google review
I love this place. You can see the hoodoos from below or go up the stairs to climb around on them. Fun for everyone and okay for little ones. The sunsets here are also unreal!

Must do! Beautiful climbing spaces. Picturesque from every angle. If it's hot, go early. Wear hiking shoes if you want to get adventurous but runners are fine. Actual "Hoodoo" protected space is a bit underwhelming but immediate surrounding areas are fabulous! Kids & adults will love this place.
Tami — Google review
Nice little trail, easy climbing if you want to get to the top for a great view.
The terrain is slippery in some parts as the dirt is loose. Some shoes with good grip would make your descend easier.
At the bottom, there are bathrooms, ice cream shops, and a hand-made jewelry and stones shop.
Albina Yumankulova — Google review
Really cool views of the area of you are able to climb to the top of the lookout but make sure to wear proper footwear. The trail is very steep in places and it's all loose rock and sand so quite difficult at times to get traction. We took the longer way down the back of the "mountain" which was far safer, if slightly less exciting. Views all around were spectacular.
Lauren Grainger — Google review
This was amazing to see. We went later on a Sunday, and basically had the place to ourselves. The sun was just setting, and it was beautiful to see.
They have a walking trail through it, and you can climb around on different parts. It was like climbing around on one of nature's playgrounds. Really fun!

Such a cool place the kids loved climbing everywhere! Even if you have mobility issues you can still enjoy . It was 2 $ per car to enter however when we went they weren't collecting not sure why. But very cool spot for photos! It is like the "mars" of Canada! Very hot on the hot days it is legit desert! There are 2 dood trcks in the parking lot 1 was open when we went for snowcones!

Came to drumheller to go to the museum, but ended up coming here after as it wasn't far out of the way. There is a ton of parking and the attraction is easily accessible. It's also free to see. These are very interesting geologic formations. I'd recommend this place as long as it's not more than 15 minutes out of the way.

Very good spot. Curious to know it got created and looks like mushroom. It also has some small trail to climb up the mountain. We were short of time so had to skip but yes you can only enjoy the beauty if you walk up the stairs.else from ground it looks nothing special. Natures beauty for sure. We could see some special stones and fossils in those places. Try to search for fun
Girish V — Google review
Great little side stop. There some washrooms as well as souvenir and food booths in the parking lot. For those who climb all the way up, there is a less steep, easier route down which takes you down to the road level a few hundred meters away from the parking lot.

Spectacular phenomenon! Be very careful climbing; watched several people slip and almost fall and get injured from the top.
Has nice walkways and stairs to admire the Hoodoo sand formations.
Going for sunrise or sunset is a recommendation.

Excited to climb up to the top for breath-taking views. Do geared up with proper hiking shoes given the trail is steep and slippery. Climbing up is still manageable but it takes much longer to get down.

Great place. Nature at the level best. People .. as always: some of them kind, some of them without education.
Point 1: read the signs before hiking.
Point 2: take ALL your garbage back to the garbage bins.
Point 3: enjoy the nature by respecting it.
Point 4: be safe while hiking up and/down.
Enjoy this monument.

Amazing phenomenon! Climbing requires extreme caution; I've seen a number of people trip, nearly fall, and sustain injuries.
the Hoodoo sand formations can be admired from good pathways and steps.
It is advised to watch the sunrise or sunset.
Kanan Patel — Google review
Earlier this week we visited the Hoodoo Trail. Over the years the change in formations is noticeable and inevitable. Having the excellent stair case installed, bench and garbage disposal nearby on the trail is great and very practical. Although signs posted ask people to stay out of key areas, there is certainly evidence of human traffic in those spots as the snow showed. Another concern is the climbing and consequential wear and tear on a gift of nature. In an earlier visit during the summer, there were a few near disasters of people nearly slipping and doing the great tumble. Perhaps such activity needs to be banned to preserve the area.
Logan Pass is the highest navigable point by road on the Continental Divide. The pass is located in Glacier National Park, at an elevation of 6646 feet. The views from the summit are stunning and it's a popular starting point for many hikes.
You definitly want to stop here. Logans pass has great views, scenery. Wildlife, etc. Just be aware, parking can be full due to the number of visitors. But no worries, it's worth the wait
Zachary Hottel — Google review
Though parking can be tough here, visiting this pass and center and the surrounding area is worth the effort. There are plenty of restrooms and exhibits, indoor and outdoor. The trail to Hidden Lake starts out the back door and is along a boardwalk for a good portion, though I still recommend bringing water and good shoes or well-fitting sandals. There's a couple herds that appear to love the are as well - Bighorn Sheep and Mountain Goat! BTW, visit the Hidden Lake overlook - it's very worth the climb!

Beautiful views in the park there are fields of wildflowers. Beautiful glaciers and Lots of wildlife. Logan Pass is the highest elevation (6646ft/2025m) and is accessible by car. It is really popular with visitors and the parking lot is usually full between 8:30 am sometimes even earlier and 4:00 pm. Consider visiting the park by using the free shuttles to avoid limited parking, or plan to visit early or late in the day if possible. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes and have sunscreen.

Anyone heading to Glacier National Park, Going to the Sun Road and Logan Pass are essentials. Where with friends, family, or solo.
While many with make a bee line to Highline Trail, there is much to offer at Logan’s. The hidden lake and panoramic vista’s just past the visitor’s center are breathtaking. Also the overlook viewing area near the entrance to Highline is a must.
We love heading up as a family to have a wondrous time playing in the snow in early/mid July. Tossing some snowballs or making frosty’s cousin’s. Also the amazing wildlife, including mountain goats abound!!!

Very beautiful place and a good place to park and go on trails. Has public restrooms, plenty of car parking, good trail paths with beautiful mountain views. I’ve visited this place in the month of June and the pass was open to public by then. The road(Going to the Sun road) to this place is one of the most beautiful drives I’ve ever driven. Very narrow roads but it is worth driving till the Logan pass. A must visit place in the Glacier National Park.

Beautiful area & views. Snow was still on the trail in July, towards the end of the trail but before the lake overlook. Appropriate footwear is needed unless you like slip-sliding all the rest of the way. And water hiking sandals aren't sufficient by the way. I look forward to going again with "snow-capable" hiking boots so I can finish the hike. If you don't like taking 30 minutes to find a parking spot at the visitor center, go extra early. :) Also, note that there is not a restroom on the trail...prepare accordingly. Otherwise, enjoy the gorgeous scenery!! 🤩

Logan's pass is a stunning area, whether you're hiking, admiring the view, or checking out the visitor's center. we saw these boys near the parking lot - please make sure to stay back, and never feed the wildlife!
Natalie Beaird — Google review
Absolutely worth beating the crowds and heading into the park at 5:30am, especially if you don't have a park pass because then you won't be allowed in until after 3pm. The parking lot at Logan Pass fills up FAST during peak season, and if you go early (5:30am) you can have more unobstructed views of everything. Also, at Logan Pass, you will see people park further and further down the hill and walk up, which seems pretty brutal because it's steep, and you've still got a big hike ahead of you. Be prepared to see animals roaming about on the hike, and please be smart and don't get close.
Michael Curtis — Google review
Lots of animal airings and beautiful breathtaking views. Amazing experience of fairly warm weather with snow. Up hill hike but mostly wooden steps. Hiking shoes are a veni fit due to some slippery snow.

We got there July 22. 7 am. And the parking lot was full. Like FULL! But worry not people do come and go so you ll find a spot soon enough. The hikes are incredible. Views are beautiful. Wildlife if lucky is spectacular. Must do on a vist to the park!
Omer Khokhar — Google review
Hands down the most beautiful pass. It actually is a spot for some of the best trails. We entered the park through the West Glacier entrance and took the Going-to-the-Sun Road to reach to Logan pass. The views throughout were immaculate and spectacular. There are multiple overlook points in between that one can stop at and admire. We didn’t have enough time to watch the sunrise but if you have that in your itinerary, Logan pass is the spot. For sunsets I’d recommend Lake McDonald. The trails that we did that started from this pass were Hidden Lake Trail and the Highline Trail. Logan pass is also the spot for the Continental Divide, which separates the Atlantic and Pacific watersheds of North America. If you plan to do the Logan Pass trails make sure you have enough food and water because the trails are long and the visitor centre is only open until 5:15pm. Also make sure you reach there early to save yourself a parking spot because 9/10 times the parking spot is full and you don’t want to waste your time waiting for someone to leave.
Aasma John — Google review
Take the Highline trail from here, you won't be sorry..also cool exhibits and swag for the whole family, loads to see and do, don't expect to find a parking spot though, TAKE THE SHUTTLE

Logan Pass is at 6,646 feet where the Going-to-the-Sun-Highway crosses the Continental Divide. It is the highest point on the Going-to-the-Sun-Highway, and roughly 2/3 of the distance across the Park.
The scenery is quite beyond words and this is another Must-Do when visiting Glacier National Park. We found that many of our pictures showed mountains with their peaks in the clouds. What we could see was marvelous so I know the rest would be grand too.
The Visitor Center is atop the Continental Divide, and from there access is available to the Highline Trail, known for wildflowers during the summer. Access for other trails is there also.
The Visitor Center is open mid-June to mid-September and is staffed with helpful rangers and several exhibits. There is also a gift shop. The restrooms are nice and very welcome.
We had hoped to enjoy a picnic lunch we brought with us to eat there, but this area is also known for high winds, and this day the wind was frigid. We ate in the car and enjoyed the view from inside. Food service is not available here.
There is what seems like a lot of parking, but it is often difficult to find an available place, as this is a busy area.
Going-to-the-Sun Road is a seasonal route that showcases stunning alpine landscapes complete with cascading waterfalls and mountain goats. This road may be closed during snow season but its scenic beauty remains unmatched, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The route presents an ideal opportunity to witness some of nature's most breathtaking visuals while experiencing the crisp mountain air.
Lake McDonald is the largest in Glacier National Park and offers stunning scenery, including views of Lake McDonald. It's very popular so be sure to get up early for your Glacier National Park engagement photos!
Went to Glacier NP in end of July for my daughter's birthday. The weather was perfect during this time. We kayaked on Lake McDonald in the morning. It was serene and calm with not too many people. More people came later in the day. Would recommend going early. The park had a nice combination of restaurants, gift shops, hotel accomodations and launching pads. The lake itself was beautiful to be on. You can see the mountains and beauty much better from the water.

Gorgeous views, clear blue water, and some of the freshest air you’ll breathe. We rented kayaks and spent a few hours paddling the shores on a relatively windy day. It was worth it, but in retrospect probably would’ve rented on a different lake or stream in the park. Ended up stopping along the southern shore and swimming, which was great. Cold, but great. The views of the lake driving up GTS road are phenomenal as well. Overall, worth checking out from the Apgar area. Consider a kayak or boat rental, but be prepared for some wind. And definitely get out for a swim, weather permitting.

One of the most iconic locations in Glacier National Park and for good reason. It’s super easy to access being right next to the airport and the west entrance. The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center is a spacious museum with interactive exhibits, walking trails, and a theater for shows and ranger talks. Visitors can explore exhibits that follow the path of the adventurers, while friendly docents offer additional information beyond the displays shown on laminated maps. The center provides clean facilities including restrooms, outdoor gardens with signage for native plants, ample parking including handicapped parking. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate easy access to adjacent trails and views of the Missouri River.
Arguably the best part of this museum is the staff (the same does not apply to the gift shop staff … that was a bad experience) they were knowledgeable, fun, and really seemed to enjoy their jobs. Aside from the staff, the museum itself was well done. The exhibits were well explained and told the story of Lewis and Clark with clarity. One item of note, at the end of exhibits are a few cases of guns, go to that case and look at the top most gun at the front. That’s a replica of the repeating air rifle, a true marvel of engineering and what the Indians were shown as Lewis and Clark traveled. Imagine seeing a rifle that didn’t need gunpowder, was quiet when shot, and didn’t create muzzle flash. That’d be fairly amazing to see in a world of muzzle loaded weapons. Anyway, highly recommend place to visit.

Had the entire museum to ourselves for two hours on a cold, snowy January day. Great family outing for kids 5 or 6+. Plenty of tactile displays, a unique journey along a carpeted “river”, and good reproductions make this a very interesting way to interact with history. It’s presented from Lewis and Clark’s perspective, but I thought it fairly well-balanced in respect to indigenous participation. Would definitely go back!

My seven year old participated in the junior explorer scavenger hunt and it was a great way for her to engage in the museum and learn a lot! The exhibits are really well put together and very interactive. If the weather was nicer we would have checked out some of the trails. They looked beautiful though!

Clean and nice center with lot of informations. Very friendly staff. I spent a few hours here with my kids and they loved the photo hunt a lot. The exposition is well made and full of interesting things. It gives you a good feeling how that all was. Even for me and I’m from Germany. Nice place.
Mirko Frind — Google review
Nice center with pleasant staff. Clean place, clean bathrooms. The various displays appeared to display more of the positive side of the Lewis and Clark expedition(s), but kind of glossed over some of the "not great" aspects. I think it would have been beneficial to give more of an explanation of the not great aspects of the journey, the explorers' encounters with various Indian tribes, and treatment of women.
Separately, there are nice walking paths outside, with nice views of the river. The cost I think is $8pp, unless you have a national parks pass (in which case, you'd get in for free). Military also get in for free.

Talk a walk around outdoors to see the Missouri River. Easy access to adjacent trails.

I'm only giving 4 stars, because of the dinner, what we paid was not worth it, at all! $59 for a steak dinner.....I didn't get a steak, I got 4 thin cut strips of steak, some potatoes and a salad. My husband said the chicken w/ fettuccine was good....but again, not worth what we paid
The Cathedral of Saint Helena is a gorgeous Catholic church built in 1914, with impressive twin spires that draw inspiration from Vienna's Votive Church. The stunning architecture is well-maintained, and the steeples tower into the sky while bells clang overhead. Visitors can't help but feel awed by the grandeur of God's glory within its walls. Even young children are enchanted by running around and exploring this amazing space.
Look I was not expecting to have a spiritual experience today. I came to town to visit the place that my family came from. But I didn't really have any idea what I was going to do when I got here. I saw this cathedral from a ways away and decided to check it out. As I got out of the car the bells in the tower began to chime. I claimed the steps hesitantly not wanting to interrupt anyone praying, but the room was empty. I stood in awe of the sight of this place. It took my words. My daughter had questions which I did my best to answer and when it came to the lit prayer candles. She wanted to do one. So together we lit one for our family which is no longer with us. And... It just hit me really deep. This place is a whole different thing, and it's beautiful

This is a beautiful cathedral outside and in. The detail of the church and stained class windows which tell a story are amazing. It reminds me of the beautiful churches in Europe. I sat there awe struck as I looked around and marveled at the Catholic tradition decorating this beautiful cathedral.

Absolutely stunning gem of a church as beautiful as any European ones I've visited. Breathtaking just being inside, you can't help but to look up in awe and feel small amid the glory of God.
Even our 17 month old seemed pretty impressed! We've *actually* never seen her have so much fun inside a building like that, she was so happy running around and giggling and looking around super excited, it must have seemed like a big fun house to her LOL we couldn't help but let her have fun while trying our best to maintain a respectful level of reverance 😆

As we drove up just to view from outside with the fall colors, the Bells were tolling. It was just magical. Sooo beautiful! I can't wait to see inside.

Beautiful! A true monument of faith to Helena’s riches of the past. I was fortunate enough to attend a 7am mass. Entered the church in outside darkness and as the service proceeded, the sunrise illuminated the stain glassed windows.

Incredibly beautiful, architecture old and very well maintained, easy to find as the steeples were almost to the sky, the bells were chiming as we walked up the stairs.

I didn't expect to be so impressed! This has the feel of an Old World cathedral! There was music piped in that because of the speaker placement and the acoustics of the cathedral itself, made it sound like you were overhearing a rehearsal.

The stained glass is insane but upon entering the air was super thick and felt heavy. Off vibes in this place. Creeped my son out, not sure why but just a different feeling while walking inside it.. still breathtaking stained glass though

Beauty inside and out. Lovely architecture on the outside and gorgeous stained glass windows and other decorative touches on the inside.
The Museum of the Rockies located in Bozeman, Montana is a world-class cultural and natural history museum that boasts an extensive collection of dinossaur fossils. The museum features a fully mounted T. Rex skeleton that was completely uncovered in Montana. The museum also features exhibits on regional and native history as well as laser planetarium shows.
The exhibit was amazing! So many kinds of dinosaur bones and fossils and very cool American Indian displays as well as some antique cars and quilts and replicas of the way people used to live. Went to the planetarium. It was somewhat interesting, but not enough to maintain my focus. I had hoped that Montana Sky would've been showing all of the stars at night and expanding to an outer space journey showing galaxies and constellations from telescopes and in space. That would've been amazing for the planetarium room.... Instead, it was just diagrams basically of the stars in our system and how to find them. Well, that's what I got out of it. Regardless, the Museum of the Rockies is definitely worth seeing. Their gift shop is very nice, too.

Wonderful museum for kids and adults. Nicely curated with a great collection of dinosaur exhibits (including Montana's T-Rex). I also caught the Da Vinci exhibition outlining his many famous paintings and brilliant inventions (highly interactive). A wonderful facility--highly recommended.

We visited Museum of the Rockies for spring break and we had a great time. The planetarium was by far our favorite! We loved watching the stars and seeing the Montana skies. It was very educational and we loved seeing the exhibits. We certainly will recommend. My son is seven and he loved it. His favorite was everything but especially the Montana sky show!

Great local museum! I especially loved the pioneer exhibits, lots of strange little trinkets from people moving west. Excellent dinosaur exhibit as well! For a small museum, there's a lot to see. Definitely worth a wander!

We visited the Museum of the Rockies on a weekday, early morning when they opened. We tried the day before in the afternoon, but the parking lot was completely packed so we went next day. The morning was perfect! No wait and the staff was super friendly and helpful in guiding us on how to see everything in the museum. Perfect for littles who love dinosaurs and there are other exhibits and artwork that I enjoyed so much. Agree with other reviews that this is a nice stop to make if you're in the area.

Great museum - specifically the dinosaur exhibits and the outdoor 'living history' house. AAA discount and senior discounts are available, too. I would recommend 2-3 hours to walk through everything and get the full experience.

Pretty cool little museums with a bunch of dinosaurs 🦕, info on the moon, and a planetarium. It is informative and a great place to take the kids.

Though my daughter (age 5) enjoyed herself and doesn't know the difference, I have to say that there was disappointment in my heart that the animatronic dinosaurs are gone. They really brought paleontology alive for me when I was younger!! The wheel on the dime collector was missing, and not one of the pencils at the drawing station in the interactive portion was sharp enough to actually use. We also were unable to make it to the kids show at the planetarium as it is available only once in the whole week! We'll be returning, of course, because there isn't anything to compare in the greater area, and she did still enjoy her experience.

Great place to learn history of dinosaurs, native Americans, early settlers, and much more. I also sat through a showing of a super volcano in the planetarium.
Grandson loved the place, younger 10 year old did okay, was a lot to take in.
Eager staff, that I think is part of the college kids who work also with digging up bones...staff the entire place and will answer any questions you may have.
Nice gift shop.
I would come back to this if I was driving this way again.

Very nice collection of fossils and historical items from the area. The Tinsley homestead with the amazing cabin and outbuildings was a real treat. The docents were all super friendly and informative. Check their operating days as the homestead is not open year round. Highly recommended!

Great educational experience for kids and adults. Very clean environment and friendly staff.
Planetarium observation room is great.
The dinosaur fossils and all was incredible.

This museum has a full t-rex skeleton. This alone will be worth the full price of admission for some. There’s actually a lot about dinosaurs here, as well as exhibits about the natives of Montana and even some classic cars. A planetarium is also here, but it is pretty cramped and the video they showed, while interesting, did make half the audience dizzy.
This place will be more interesting soon when they get their new temporary exhibits up, but none were there on this day. Still a rather good museum all things considered.

The Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman, Montana, offers an informative and engaging showcase of DaVinci's works and inventions, providing remarkable insights into the creative genius of this ahead-of-his-time man. The museum's diverse exhibits, including the captivating dinosaur display and a collection of transportation and housing artifacts, add to the experience. The Living Farm exhibit at the Tinsley House offers a nostalgic journey into the past, perfect for photographers and those interested in history. With a range of displays and a 20-minute IMAX film, the visit can span 2-3 hours, allowing reflection on each exhibit. While the admission is $20 for adults, discounts are available for AAA, seniors, and children. With something for visitors of all ages, the Museum of the Rockies promises an enriching and enjoyable visit.

Located about 7mins from downtown Main Street this is a good museum for young visitors and most of the exhibits are about dinosaurs 🦖
The outbuilding are worth the visit to understand what farming life was like back in the day.

I visited the Museum of the Rockies in July 2023. Amazing museum and really enjoyed the dinosaur exhibit. The fossels were amazing to see and a must if you're passing through or staying in the Yellowstone area.
Brian Lawson — Google review
The Museum of the Rockies hosts seasonal rotating exhibits (microbes during our visit at the end of December 2023) as well as permanent installations exploring Montana's geology, paleontology and Old West history. The dinosaur exhibit is the best part of the museum. If you have young guests, the upper floor is a good place for babies and small children to play and learn too. For an additional fee, there are regular planetarium shows, and seasonally a historic working farm.
As in-state, but out-of-town guests, we visit once or twice a year. Rotating exhibits are a hit or miss, but we always look forward to visiting the dinosaurs, seeing a planetarium show and shopping in the gift shop.
Imagine my shock and disappointment to learn that as of January 2024, MOR is no longer honoring ASTC members from Helena, even though it is 99 miles outside the local area of Bozeman. Since there are so few museums in Montana as it is, this really is a blow to our cultural and learning opportunities.

Great Dino exhibits and always has an interesting rotating exhibit. Great interactive area for kid on the 3rd floor. Always a great way to spend a couple of hours with the whole family Planetarium and other videos are always a treat as well.

This museum was so much fun! There were loads of dinosaur fossils with lots of educational information. It was really neat to learn about everything that was found locally, especially the collection of triceratops of all different ages. The planetarium show was a must see as well. Fun for kids and adults alike.
Michelle Beoris — Google review
The dinos are fascinating, and they have some great exhibits, but they had no rotating exhibit, and the price was the same. It isn't the biggest of deals but there wasn't much else to see besides the dinos, cars, a native American exhibit (which I could talk about but wont), and the planetarium shows that we're, sorry to say, lack luster. I LOVE a good museum, and this was good...just needed someone to run the planetarium that didn't make me want to sleep. Super nice, though.
Fantastic Family Fun Day for 6 (ages 11-47). Highly recommend the Zip & Dip package. Perfect introduction of both activities leaving my kids wanting more, "next time can we do class 4 rapids and the 6 bridge zip". Thank you to the staff for unforgettable experience for our family.

We had an amazing time whitewater rafting with Montana Whitewater Rafting. I have to say that aside from this place being extremely organized and very knowledgeable the guides really made it extra fun. We were fortunate enough to be able to book in on the same day for White water rafting. Our guide was Gareth and he did an amazing job with us (2 adults and 2 children).
It was so hot outside that it was a great pleasure by each boy to be dunked in the water where it was calm.
Gareth was very effective at mitigating any dangers that we could have faced, especially with young children. At no point did any of us feel overwhelmed for our levels.
We found all of the rest of the staff to be friendly and more than willing to assist us with anything that we needed.
We highly recommend families to come here and enjoy the nature of the river.

Amazing experience. Did the half day more challenging Gallatin River run, our guide was Gavin Cooper and he was simply amazing, kept us all safe and made you feel confident on the river. Highly recommend this place. Get out there!

We booked a private boat for a family friendly "less challenging" whitewater trip as we had 2 young kids (ages 6 and 7) coming along. The river is high this time of year so it was a lot faster and rougher than expected. They put us with a senior guide, Robert and he was awesome! He gave clear instructions, and the kids were screaming with excitement (thankfully the photos confirmed this) the whole time. From booking the trip, getting outfitted with all the gear, drop off/pickup, etc....it was all super organized and easy! We all had a great time, felt completely safe and would highly recommend Montana Whitewater!

We had a great time rafting with Montana Whitewater! Our guide Cameron was friendly, easy going, and very knowledgeable. The staff walk you through everything you'll need for the trip and they provide all the gear, which is included in the fee. We had fantastic weather (I don't think Montana Whitewater can take credit for that, lol) and a really fun crew on our trip down the Gallatin. The youngest in our group was 8 and the oldest was a grandpa and we all had a great time! Definitely a must do experience at least once while on your Montana adventures!

We had an amazing trip down the Gallatin River with Montana Whitewater today! Amazing views and the rapids were an absolute blast. Our guide Barbo was a serious pro at what he does and kept us safe and very entertained! He was hilarious and also a wealth of knowledge about the area. We couldn’t have been happier. A cool adventure. Highly recommend!

Great time! Every single person we interacted with really seemed to love what they do
We did the less challenging white water rafting with our 7 year old. Henry was our guide and kept us entertained in the calm water and in the action during rapids
We also did a zip line with Kaiden and Chase (Chance?). These guys were amazing. Kaiden had our son attached to him for the zips, and he was incredibly patient. Our son was TERRIFIED in the beginning, but by the end he was laughing
Thank you for the great memories!!

The Big Sky Resort is introducing renovations to its Huntley Lodge and Summit Hotel, featuring over 200 guest rooms with updated and spacious designs. The hotel remains family-oriented with the inclusion of bunk bed lofts in select suites. Additionally, a new high-speed chairlift will be available for visitors to enjoy. This mountainside condo hotel offers upscale accommodations with sophisticated interior decor, complete with an outdoor pool for relaxation.
Great skiing at Big White. We had a wonderful Christmas in April with over 30 inches of new snow in a week. Terrain is awesome - from beginner to world class expert. Steeps, breathtaking views, tree skiing, blue cruisers, and big terrain park - there's something for everyone. I love the bubble chair lifts with heated seats. The village is small but has lots of character. We stayed at the Huntley Lodge and it was great, nicely updated. Will be back again soon.

Great resort. Lots of run options, large ski lifts with bubbles to protect you from the weather. Lines are short due to large and fast lifts. The staff is fantastic. The map shows lots of beginner hills. Brought my boys who are beginners and I think they are overly optimistic as many of the beginner slops are more advanced. Great place for experienced skiers not as great if you are a beginner.

This ski resort is HUGE. You could easily spend 2 days here and not repeat a run. The amenities are awesome. Heated seats on some lifts. Covers to pull down over you when it snows. They have great areas for beginners— our 7 year old had a great time. But also double black options for experts. I love that they have an excellent adaptive ski program associated with the resort. We didn’t find that until the day we left, but still be back to have our daughter with Down syndrome take a class. The lift tickets here are pricey. No question. We used our mountain collective passes which made that part easier to swallow for us. 2 days at Big Sky almost parts for the entire pass.

Huge! You would need several days to ski the whole resort, there are lots of various terrains and excellent lift and staff. The mountain is beautiful and you gotta go to the top if it's a sunny day! The base is not very good this year considering it's already March, I stuck on rocks multiple times when ski on seemingly untouched powder. Very easy to find parking and shuttles are very frequent if you park far from main base.

I booked the condo my friends own in Village Center for the week. The condo itself was very nice and clean, and the front desk staff members were friendly during my few interactions with them.
The relatively few on-resort dining establishments that were open were somewhat often closed during their posted business hours, leaving us to eat something we didn’t want or go off-resort.
The check-in process was confusing, and involved going to a different building than where we were staying, only to have someone escort us to another parking lot after quite a wait and get us checked in at the building where we were staying. I’d rather have been able to go to our parking area directly.
I was to park in the owners’ lot per my friends, but it was closed for an event the weekend we arrived. It was open after that for parking, but we were never given the code we asked for to access it, and had to park farther away during our time here. It was no dealbreaker, but for what it costs to own a condo here, I’d think the owners’ lot should always be available for them and their guests to use.
The hiking/biking trails and the disc golf courses are excellent. The hiking and biking trails are fantastic. The resort itself is in a beautiful location. It’s an outstanding place to get away and recharge.
Overall, the stay was very enjoyable, and the minor annoyances were acceptable considering the rates available at the time I booked. For people paying the current asking prices to stay here, the resort should do better.

Had a fantastic week here March 10-18. Great dump of snow midweek to give a couple of days of fresh powder - terrain is amazing with broad spread of difficulties from green all the way to triple? black diamond runs... The lifts are efficient and mostly with short lines. The tram system to the top of Lone Peak is a pay as you go system, with an additional daily fee on top of your existing lift pass. This cost varied from $50-80USD/Day and is based on expected demand. The tram caries only about 10-12 people each time, and only leaves every 5minutes or so, hence the wait times can be very long to get the lift (we waited 65 minutes), even when they only seem short in length. On a powder day, you feel a bit like you're letting the day go to waste a bit by standing around... But the terrain on lone peak is less travelled, so snow is less tracked. We had a deep powder run down Liberty Bowl (waist-deep powder) which was minimally tracked, so even for the cost of the tram add-on, I am still glad we did it!! It was phenomenal!!
Overall, not the cheapest place to have a family ski holiday, and probably would find a trip here with my whole family too cost prohibitive, but as this was taken as part of a conference trip, the tax deductible nature of many expenses made it pretty affordable overall...

Disclaimer trail maps make it look bigger than it is. It’s still massive. Don’t take the moose lift, it’s 20 minutes with no bar. But the glades are perfect. The bowl is fun. The catwalks are are long and the trails are smooth

This was an incredible and fantastic adventure. It is a thrilling activity surrounded by the gorgeous Gallatin National forest. Our zip-line guides were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this zip-line to anyone visiting the Yellowstone or Bozeman areas.
Only one word of caution, please check their website for weight by restrictions for safety. You can also rent a mountain bike, you can bike from top to bottom. There’s a lift that can take you to the top.

I have to say that we were truly amazed with the facilities, activities, food and service. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We came in July to visit some of the area’s national parks and wished we would have stayed one extra day to spend time on the grounds. We had been coming to Big Sky for decades until they raised the ski rates a while back. However, we were able to take advantage of the early season ski and stay prices. The new upgrades on this mountain are surely worth it. Heated chairlifts, no lines, great customer service!!! Food was great and everyone was very helpful and friendly.

The Good
- The Huntley Lodge is very nice and comfortable. The pool/hot tub area is nice however the jets were not working in one of the hot tubs.
- The breakfast was great! Plenty of choices and a great meal to start the day.
- The Peaks Restaurant and Cabin Bar & Grill were outstanding. Great dinners at both.
- Loved the Exchange area to get a quick bite, drink, and pickup groceries - however the lines for checkout was long and slow.
- The demo shop was great! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
- Ski valet guys were friendly and considerate.
- The skiing was fantastic! Lift staff were great!
The Bad
- Bell people didn't ask if we needed help with our bags when we arrived. We weren't directed to the ramp to roll our bags up.
- Check-in person had a bad attitude and was not helpful. Didn't solve problems especially for those who are first-timers.
- A lot of room noise from floor above. Walls and ceilings don't limit noise well.
- A lot of misdirection and miscommunication from ski rental shop when returning ski equipment.
- Ski instructors are great but more helpful when either be asked to help or being paid for a lesson.
We had a great time at Big Sky and would recommend it. I believe there may be need for additional training in soft customer service skills.

Very nice resort that is huge. They have a little bit of everything for everyone. My only complaints are the prices of everything. Be prepared to spend a lot of money if you come to visit or want to ski. We did a full day on Saturday February 4th, with lift tickets and rentals, and our son did a ski school for his age group (age 7). We wanted to do a half day Sunday. My buddy who did a full day Sunday paid $248 for a full day ticket, while I got a half day ticket around 1 pm for my son and I and it was $200 for me and $130 for him. He was a beginner and did not get off the magic carpet. That’s one thing that’s not clear on the website if a lift ticket is required or not for the magic carpet, or if I needed one to help him or not. Another thing was at the end of his lesson on Saturday his instructor said that they offered half day lessons and we should sign him up for Sunday. When we went to sign him up for Sunday we were told they don’t do half day lessons for his age group, that we could book a half day private lesson for $875 or a full day private lesson for $1075. Two waters at Madison village was $10.75. So just prepare to spend about double on everything. Nice resort with lots to do just budget accordingly.

Big Sky is arguably the best ski resort in the continental US. I like it because there is so much variety in terrain. The only negative is the village is not at the resort unlike Vail or Whistler, so you have to drive a couple miles to have more food, beverage, and entertainment options.

Dangerous ski place. Very crowded and the ski patrol does nothing to control the situation. There is a separate area for beginners but it full of teenagers going 100 mph going back to the lift. I saw several colitions and serious falls in a green run called Mr K and it was supposed to be a "slow" area.

Beautiful place but it’s up on the mountain not in the little town. It’s an absolutely beautiful drive up here from big sky.
Service was excellent, including a call letting us know the restaurants up in the hotel were closed because of the off-season.

Room rates in big sky are insanely high. But got a decent rate for this place online prepaid.

Great ski hill but man the conditions are rough.
The atmosphere is wonderful. DJ in the evenings. Almost a steamboat party vibe.

I recently visited Big Sky Resort and had a truly enjoyable experience. The resort offers stunning views, excellent facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great destination for ski enthusiasts.
However, I feel it's important to mention that the pricing seems quite steep, especially considering that more than half of the mountain was closed during my visit. While I understand the costs associated with maintaining such a large resort, a daily lift ticket price of $234 felt excessive given the limited access. It would be beneficial for guests if the pricing reflected the actual availability of the trails and facilities.

Beautiful mountain and gorgeous resort. As an amateur skier, I was surprised by the difficulty of the runs, but really enjoyed them all. Little to no line for the lifts, nicely groomed runs, variety of food options, and excellent lift service. Every Monday and Wednesday they have avalanche dog meet and greet, which was a lot of fun and educational. Highly recommend visiting Big Sky for your next ski/snowboard trip. Keep in mind the drive from Bozeman to Big Sky can be difficult at night, even in great conditions.

We spent New Years Eve at Big Sky and then Jan 8th at Big Sky for snow biking. We were up at Madison Village for the snow biking. The guys at the rental spot were nice and helpful, and making sure our 10 year old was comfortable. The snow bikes are highly recommended! They are so much fun! People operating the ski lifts were also helpful to slow or stop the ski lifts so our daughter could load and unload safely.
The Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center is a nonprofit organization that offers a place for animals threatened with extermination, such as grizzlies and captive-born wolves, to live in an alternative environment. The center has excellent keeper programs that allow kids to watch the animals in their natural habitats.
Awesome spot. We went in winter so it was a slightly different setup than summer but was amazing to see the bears and wolves so close! It's a short visit kind of place, if you really read every plaque and exhibit maybe 2.5 hours. If you go strictly for the animals 1-1.5 hrs if you take your time. Gift shop was priced competitivly with the surrounding gift shops, and the best part is the proceeds go to the center... Great experience, will definitely do it again.

Kids will love this place... if they are into bears, wolves or wildlife in general. The animals are active under normal conditions, even if sleeping, you can see something. Gift shop has a ton of neat stuff, if you want. There is even a little play ground if your little one gets board with everything else. I think the Bald Eagles need a little more space and the fish and otter sanctuary is very cool! If you have a few hours to spend, this is an easy choice! Enjoy!

We enjoyed our stop here. The bears were engaging and active. The owls were neat and awesome to see. The otters are always cute and fun to watch. The small squirrels were entertaining as well. The wolves were pretty to see.

Best place to visit to see Grizzly bears and wolves. For those who don’t camp don’t get a chance to see the mighty grizzly bears and wolves, so this is the right place to see them. The discovery centre has an entry fee $16 per adult and can be visited anytime within 24hrs from purchasing the ticket. They also demo how to use bear spray, bear habitat and how to handle the situation in case of contact with bears. (Should be booked early to book the slot). The entrance shows a display of bears, their first encounters, life cycle, museum kind of and then we enter into their live habitat where u see bears, wolves, raptors, otters, and squirrels (other species) that undergo hibernation.
It also has shopping area to purchase various items.

An absolute must-see when you visit West Yellowstone! The staff, facilities, and "residents," ie, the grizzlies, wolves, otters, ground squirrels, et al, happily co-exist. We enjoyed a remarkably excellent visit during the first week in April.

This is an amazing sanctuary for bears that are impacted by human conflict. This center educates on how to prevent bear interaction with humans. One of the most enlightening demonstrations is "camping in bear country" where they set up a typical tent scenario and let the bears do what they do. The wolf packs are beautiful, they are adding new areas for the animals to enjoy. The entrance pass is good for entry for 2 days.

It was a really nice place. I was visiting from Alberta and making it to the discovery Center was on my list. It close to closing time (late afternoon) so the wolves were a bit more active which was nice. The bears were also out and about and we got see them feed I also got to see a demonstration on how to properly use bear spray. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in west Yellowstone. I also got to see some birds of prey. It's non-profit so that is also a good reason to support the center.

This is a fun place, and my 9 year old really enjoyed it. It's pretty small, but the bear habitat is really cool. They do a great job of keeping the animals active, which is more than I can say for most zoo type places. My son enjoyed getting to go into the bear habitat to hide food (small additional cost-no bears present😄). I would give it 5 stars, but it's just too small. They are expanding, so maybe in the future, I'll be able to bump it up a star!

Incredible experience! Very affordable! You get to see live bears, wolves, a hawk, two bald eagles, and some otters! This is a great activity if you have children as well, around mid-day they have an activity where children can hide food in the exhibit (with the bears put away of course) and then once everyone is out, they can watch the bears look for their food! One price for the whole day! Smaller museum inside as well and more activities outside.

My family with small kids stopped here on our last day at Yellowstone. It was a nice visit to see the animals they care for at this rescue. The bear habitat is very impressive. They rotate which bears are in the enclosure regularly. Each time the bears come in, they are looking for the food hidden by the caretakers, which is very interesting to watch. The eagles, owls and hawks were fun to spot, as their natural camouflage hid them from plain sight.
The display of trash cans and coolers that bears broke into was really interesting, especially to see how they did it.
We spent about an hour there and were able to see all the exhibits.

The Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center is a not-for-profit wildlife park and educational facility which opened in 1993 that is located in West Yellowstone, MT. It is open 365 days a year. They have rehabilitated animals and lots of bears and wolves that they rotate every few hours through various outdoor displays. They also have giant aquariums for local river and lake displays. Some include local fish; otters; etc.; dioramas; etc. The displays, dioramas, etc. are spread out among different buildings and outside areas and have excellent descriptions. A great organization to visit and support.

One of the smaller AZA accredited sanctuaries but worth the visit. Of course the bears and wolves are main animals which are well taken care of. They change up their environment constantly to stimulate the animals and create similar changes they would experience in the wild. If you don’t see them out, just move on to another area or wait 15 minutes. We went in the afternoon around 3:30 and shortly after they fed the animals which was cool to see, they would hide the food to keep animals active and to interact with changes in environment. Workers were very educated as well ready to answer questions.

Such a fun time! We didn't see much in the park as far as animals go, so I'm glad we got to see these Grizzly bears! The wolves were just lounging so we only saw their fur lumps and an occasional head lift. The Grizzly bears are just another thing-amazing!

This is a GREAT place! Our family stopped here on our way into Yellowstone and really enjoyed our visit. The exhibit and habitats are excellent and there is a LOT of areas to view the animals. They have several rescue animals and include otters, birds of prey (golden and bald eagles, owls, etc.) In addition to the grizzlies and wolves. Weather does NOT affect your ability to see the animals and they have covered areas to keep you dry or shaded. An awesome facility, totally worth the visit. Pass is good for 2 consecutive days so save your receipt!

We really loved this place. We got there right when it opened at 9:00am on a Saturday and that was a good call because it got busy pretty quickly by about 9:30am. All the wolves were active when we first got there which was interesting to watch. They were all just lying around by the time we left. The grizzly bears were awesome we saw 3. They rotate them in and out and let them forage for food that they hid. The zoo keepers are great and provide information on the animals while you view them. The aquarium area with the otters is amazing but gets crowded fast. We had it to ourselves for a while since we got there early. Overall very nice facility with great information on animals. Also they give AAA auto club member discounts on general admission. It was $15.50 for an adult and $10.50 for a child. Definitely a must see for the wolves and grizzlies up close if you are into animals.

This place was amazing. My niece loved seeing the wolves, owls, and otters. The bears were so big, but a little too boring for her liking. The entire facility is fascinating. I learned a lot about bears and wolves. My niece, who is very conservative with her money. Informed me, " These gift shop prices are too expensive, $25 for a $10 stuff animal, they crazy."

Beautiful Facility with stunning animals with such personalities it'll make your day. I had work in Rexberg but took the trip out there and between the staff and the animals, it was a fantastic experience. Even in Winter, It had a magic and warming feeling. I would highly recommend to come check out the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center!!

We really do enjoy going here every time we go to yellowstone. There's a museum that you walk through that has stuffed bears, bear facts, and interactive screens where you can learn about bears and a small theatre to learn about wolves and bears. The wolves are usually only on the far left side, and are all out. but they are pretty and look well taken care of. The Bear exhibit only has one bear out at a time, but it's interesting to listen to what these bears would do in the wild and how they simulate that here. The otters are cute but the most I've ever seen are 2. Gift shop is expensive but it has some unique gifts. I definitely recommend it! 🐻 🐻❄

This place is amazing! I loved seeing the fauna there! Otters, fish, birds of prey, wolves, bears..Oh my!! The staff people we spoke to were nice and informative. The details provided about the bears were educational. I don't know if this was a default condition, but when we purchased our tickets, we were informed we could use them for the next day, as well, which is a great value! Keep up the good work!
PS: The only thing I found a little odd/funny was, one of the caps there had the establishment's name on it, but a silhouette of an otter was on the cap, not a grizzly or wolf 😄

We woke up to the wolves howling, it was awesome! The wolves were adorable, the bears were showing off for us, and the birds were just chilling. The otters were some of the cutest animals we've seen in captivity in a long time. The bears were all saved from stupid humans and the birds were all injured and now live here. The gift shop was nice, get a picture with the big stuffed bear!

All-around awesome! The bears were playing, and the otters were super cute and adventurous. The wolves slept the whole time, which was lame but still neat! The facility is handicap friendly as well unless there is ice.

We visited the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery center after the recommendation from one of our other tour guides, and were so happy to have made the choice to do so! It was really interesting and informative to learn about the stories of the animals that were there and to learn more about those animals in general. The naturalists and staff were helpful and knowledgeable, and the mission of the center is so important.
Out of all the campgrounds I've stayed at, including other KOAs, this is by far my favorite! The park is very well maintained, clean bathrooms. The staff are amazing people that spoil their guests! Waffles & coffee in the morning, ice cream in the evening, a pool to cool off, plenty of shade. We enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra day. I highly recommend this park!!

First experience ever at a KOA. Staff was amazing and very accommodating. Kid friendly. Pet friendly. Ice cream socials at 5 p.m. and waffles at 9 a.m. We came for the weekend to visit Craters of the Moon and camped here. 20 minute drive from craters of the moon.
Timothy Clark — Google review
I can laugh now, but as we pulled in - I wanted to turn around and leave :) Not because of anything other than - I had no idea that were truly here only due to the Craters of the Moon.
When booking, I thought there would be more to do in the area - but if you're coming here, you are either here for a Family Reunion, or to see Craters of the Moon. That is what's on the map for any traveler passing through.
Staff was insanely kind. Super nice. We pulled in and ran into an issue with hookups (provided, but they were at the end of the campsite vs. in the middle and our hoses wouldn't reach), they were able to help us immediately (Along with the kind gentleman who's site we temporarily stole).
The campground offers an ice cream social daily. Good cause, good ice cream and dirt cheap. Do it. They also offer waffles (or was it pancakes?) on the weekend. They were super tasty and fit the kids requests!
Playground was sub-par. Perfect if you've got really little kids (2-4 y/o). Pool was okay, nothing special - but it was water and our kids also loved it.

Alan is very nice and accommodating! As a solo female traveler (coming from Kentucky) I am terrible at planning ahead as to which KOA I happen to stay at that night. I usually just pick whichever is closest to me. BUT I am very pleased and honored to have met Alan! It just so happens that it was going to be a cold night as I am car camping with my pets out of my SUV. Alan said “No it’s too cold for you out there.” He upgraded me without any additional cost to a kabin site; it is astonishing to see this kind of hospitality without expecting anything in return. If you so happen to be in the area, Barbara and Alan do an amazing job of maintaining the property as well as being amazing hosts!

if you drive an Electric vehicle don't bother coming here, they had to make an exception for us to stay one night and use the RV sites with 50AMP circuit. Never had problems charging at any other camp site with hookup. They said it is because charging the car will trip the breaker (which we did not for that 1 night) - camp site had lots of open space but was put at the end of RV site with no protection and had to stake down our tent due to thunderstorm.

Friendly owners and staff. Newly remodeled and kept clean and fresh, I recommend this location for your next KOA camping experience. They have cute cabins for rent reasonably priced, an extensive selection of items to shop for in their store and lots if fun things to do while staying there.

I have stayed here twice visiting Craters of the Moon and IEL Museum EBR-1. RV sites are level grass and gravel with good hookups. WiFi was a bit spotty but there was good cell reception. I enjoyed the morning waffle. Very helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Was a good spot to stop for a night! Didn’t have any issues with noise complaints like some reviews previously posted. Their quiet hours are from 10pm-8am. Customer service was great! Was able to go swimming and use their laundry services with a breeze. Highly recommend!
Also if you are needing to do laundry, I highly suggest going to this location and not the supposed laundromat that’s a few miles away. They have ice cream social which is great for those with kids and it’s only a $1. They also have free breakfast (big and thick waffles) in the mornings. They also have hot foods that you can order and have it delivered to your site!
Our experience was great— we are pretty easy going people from Oklahoma.

Very disappointed. I specifically chose this RV park so the kids could swim. The pool is green and freezing cold. I’m not sure when the pictures were taken but the park does not look like this now. no grass, the dog park is weeds. The bathroom showers are small.. the woman’s bathroom one has no hot water and one is clogged so that leaves 1 shower. The good thing is The staff is very helpful and nice. They also have waffles and ice cream!

Not up to the usual standards we find at a KOA. Really nice people working there. Pool small but refreshing. No lawn really, mostly weeds. Cute ice cream social almost every night. Didn't try the Cafe. Close to "The Pickle Place" Cafe which was awesome! About 40 minutes from Craters of the Moon park. Probably wouldn't stay here again. Grounds need to be upgraded.

I stayed in a cabin Mid June and it was exactly what I needed. I wasn't expecting to see the Tetons from the cabin but I was pleasantly surprised when I could. Highly recommend this KOA. Staff was exceptional. Cafe food was also great.

Well I am done with KOA. Really nice people working there but pool looked like a green soup and we stopped there for the pool so the kids can have a little swim. Also, the campground (and the city) was under a boil water advisory, so not their fault but no water avail there to buy, had to go to the grocery and nothing is mentioned on the web site to be aware before you get there. No firewood available as well. Only good point, it's close to Craters of the Moon park and we decided to ditch the KOA to stay at Craters of the Moon campground instead ($15). At least, we had water there!

Excellent place! We stayed two nights in a tent with no issues. Bathrooms, showers and laundry room were clean. You can tell they cleaned them everyday. Everyone working there was friendly and the waffle chef (free waffles 9am) was humbling. Make sure you prepare for quick changing weather; it was 75 and calm then about 10 mins thunderstorms, 65 and winds maybe about 25 mph. And they have an ice cream social at 5. Best KOA yet!
Bear World is a wildlife park in Rexburg, Idaho, with opportunities to see bears in their natural habitat. The park features a drive-thru facility as well as petting zoo and kid's rides.
It's a neat place, most of the bears here are former actor/performance animals, or descendants of said bears, so they cannot be in the wild. Place offers a few different ways to see them as well. (Drive thru the park in your own vehicle, or use their truck to toss them food, as well as a small petting zoo for the kids.)

Wow! Was this place cool or what. We went during the middle of the week and experienced great joy. It was not crowded and they allow you to go through unlimited times. We went through roughly eight times watching all of the bears and different animals. To be precise there are buffalo, whitetail deer, albino elk, elk, swan, grizzly bears, black bears, and moose. And that's just for the section of where you're driving. During our visit there were a lot of bears playing around. They also have a little section that you can go to and actually pet some animals. The animals that you're able to pet are goats, dear, different kinds of birds, and pigs. You can also feed bears during the season. They have an amazing little enclosure for Cubs. Overall the experience was incredible. I'm definitely going here again.

I personally like Bear World better than Yellowstone. I love to ride around and see the animals. The bears are so cute, but the cubs are the cutest!!! You can pay to.feed them.
You pay right as you arrive and then you can choose to drive your own car or you can pay to ride in their truck and you're also able to.feed the bears. We did that the first time.
The gift shop and kid park area are fun too. And then you can also choose to go to the back part and see more animals. You can also feed the ducks and fish. It is guaranteed fun time for everyone!

Outstanding well kept secret we've told everybody about! 👏 For the most part, the staff is friendly! All around are clean facilities, structures, and habitats for the various animals! All the animals appeared to be well fed and cared for! Feeding the "baby bears" was definitely the highlight of the trip for us! BUT YOUR TICKETS IN ADVANCE! Very seldom can you show up and expect to feed the bears! The food was decent, and as you would expect, overpriced beyond belief! The "merchandise shop," on the other hand, was reasonably priced and quite affordable!

Wow! We went during Cubpalooza last week.
The kids loved it and want to go back again. They have amusement rides that are included with admission. The bears were very active and the cubs were 100% adorable.

The cost of the adventure was $25. It was worth every penny. It is especially wonderful for children I cannot imagine they must think when they see all these wild animals. I bet I saw 50 bears. The gift shop was well staffed and had a great assortment. The workers were delightful. I love the little petting zoo area and the rides. I also want to mention these animals are cared for very well!

Wow. The drive through the park with elk, deer, bison, and bears is fun for the whole family. Lots of photo opportunities with animals everywhere.
The main area gift shop was affordable with a nice selection. The dinosaur area had a couple of "rideable" dinosaurs and was a unique experience for kids. Free amusement park rides for the kids were also available with a decent selection and short lines. The petting zoo had deer, goats, birds, and a pig.
My family paid for the bear bottle feeding and it was well worth the time and the money. Six bears under a year old who like nooking with their feeders and have large personalities for the tiny size of their bodies were amazing to feed and to pet. As with any babies, they had their opinions and different personalities from messy eaters, to inhalers. Such an incredible experience. Highly recommended.

I've gone a few times in different seasons, but it's still the same. The bathrooms are a mess and super dirty. The staff is pretty rude, and their merchandise barely ever is updated. but it was cool to look around at the cubs and drive through the wildlife. The dinosaur park in it has quite a few dinosaurs with some movement and sounds. We liked the chubby bears 🐻

At first glance, the price seems really steep being $24 an adult but once you realize just how many animals are actually offered either to see (bison, elk, bears, moose etc.) or to pet at the petting zoo (deer, goats, pigs etc.) I soon understood why! This place was so cool driving in with all of the big bears, elk and bison! Not to mention the adorable petting zoo and amusement park which is also built into the admission price!
Also, their fudge in the giftshop? Delicious!!
Absolutely worth a visit at least once! My family had a wonderful trip and we will be back! Thanks guys! Very impressed.

Lots of bears and other animals common to Yellowstone National Park. Plenty for kids to do too with a petting zoo, and amusement rides all included with admission. You drive through the elk, bison, and bears. You can renter as much as you like but no stopping and no rolling down your windows. A great place to spend 2-3 hours. Food is available to purchase or bring your own—plenty of picnic tables. Good value!

Driving portion to see roaming animals takes about 30 minutes. So a variety of brown bears, black bears, deer, and bison. Entrance to the park also includes entrance to the dinosaur world, small theme park rides, and petting zoo. We spent about 1.5 hrs total in the park, but could have spent double that if your kids are big on doing the rides. Overall a good experience with the family.

The new dinosaur area is really fun. My kids liked the Dino rides. 2 of the 5 rides were broken when we visited, so it was a little disappointing. But the rides are nice for a wide range of ages. I wanted to ask why the petting zoo is so sparce on animals but didn't see an employee near there to ask. The info center on the different animals is great. The deer look so thin and mangey. The way the road winds through the park gives visitors plenty of angles to see the animals.

We attended as a homeschool field trip. The drive through to see the bears was exciting for my girls (10&3). The petting area was fun with little piglets and momma, deer and goats. The girls had fun feeding them and also the fish and ducks in the river. We got there at feeding time and it was so cute to watch the baby bear cubs drinking their bottles. You can pay extra to feed the bear cubs, but we didn't do this. The new dinosaur exhibit was neat with life-sized animatronic dinos to see and even a few of the little coin ride kind. The small carnival rides we did last were fun and the girls left happy for the day out.

Amazing place. Great opportunity to see some majestic wildlife up close! You can take as many laps in your car as you want, that will take you right by bison, dear and a TON of bears. There is also a petting zoo with deer, goats, ducks etc. A few rides for the kids and a dinosaur place under construction for 2024.
IF YOU'RE GOING ALL THE WAY OUT HERE -- spoil yourself and cough up the extra $75 to feed the baby bears. You'll remember that for the rest of your life!!!
This place actually made my mum-in-law cry out of sheer joy over all the beautiful animals and getting to bottle feed the cubs.

Very nice park along Snake River and the water falls, that gave the town its current name. Prior to 1891, the town's name was Eagle Rock.
Parking is possible anywhere along the road parallel to the river. The park gives pedestrians the chance to walk a few steps, to look at and to listen to the roar of the water falls. Along the walkway are different benches in interesting and funny shapes.

A lovely place for a walk or run in Idaho Falls. The River a Walk provides just enough of a taste of the outdoors while still having quick access to food trucks, fine dining, bars, and coffee shops in the downtown area.
You can stop at one of the many fun artistic benches scattered along the walk as well as the War Memorial or some of the sculptures.
It’s also a love place to visit on Saturdays from May through October beginning at 9 am for the local farmers’ market.

Best place to go for a walk though it does get dangerous at night though so make sure you either have a whistle or your SOS turned on to make sure emergency people and cops are alerted. I ended up meeting a man that got attacked near the green belt. He had cuts and bruises all over his body. It's not dangerous but just watch out for big groups of people or even in 2s or 3s. Stay safe if walking at night in the winter which is right now there is black ice on the side walk and on the walking strip even though Rick salt does get put down it can only do so much. To help. It can help just enough but with how cold it is its kinda useless. But still makes sense if they didn't put it down it probably be worse than what it is as of right now. In the summer it's gorgeous and in the falls it is extremely beautiful with the leaves falling and everything

The imposing peak of Grand Teton is a popular mountaineering destination in Wyoming that is surrounded by stunning hiking trails. With its sheer size, impressive height and scenic views, it has long been a favorite of experienced climbers. At 13,775 feet tall, it is the second-highest mountain in the state and can be seen for miles around.
What a magnificent view and serenity of this remarkable place!
I visited Grand Teton National Park for the first time on September/5/2021.
Grand Teton National Park is a popular destination for all ages and other forms of recreation. It offers something for everyone, from canoeing, cycling, hiking, rock climbing, horse back riding, floating in the river, and taking the best pictures as well.
There are a lot of trails to explore, and they are arranged from easy, moderate, to hard.
I didn’t have enough time to do a lot of them, so most of my hikes were focused on the super easy.
The Grand Teton & Teton Range are one of the most beautiful white mountain formations & places that I have been to.
I went for the morning hike by Jenny Lake and it was absolutely captivated by the reflection of Teton Range over the water.
Watching the sunset on the top Teton was unforgettable moments,
and gorgeous views of Jackson Lake, surrounding a range of soaring mountains, and lush green trees. Truly nature at its best.
Just about a postcard or calendar viewpoint everywhere I looked. It's almost impossible not to take beautiful photos, but pictures do not come close to doing justice for this paradise as it is so truly magnificent!!!
This is definitely a must see as it will completely take your breath away.

Absolute must if you are in Jackson, Wyoming!
Would recommend hiring a 4 wheel drive car as there’s about 1.5 miles of off roading/pot holes to drive through.
Park entry is $35 or $80 for a yearly membership card to all national parks.
Jenny lake is recommended (pics below) it’s was an incredible view! The pictures don’t do it justice.
Also if you want to see bears ask the park ranger at the entrance and they let you know the spots to go!

The mountains here are what every kid draws in a picture. Peaking scraggly mountains that butt right up to a prairie. I've been here a few times in each time is his breathtaking is the last. I recommend doing as many hikes as you can to as many lakes as you can be cause each one is full of new mountain reflections.

This has to be one of the most beautiful places in the United States! We haven't been able to see it during the summer time but the winter was amazing! It was super clean too. Make sure if you go you have to go watch the sunrise and sunset. Only wish is we were able to see more wildlife we only saw a few deer, sheep and moose but it was still a great adventure.

This is an enchanting area as it can be. It was amazingly beautiful. The lake was crystal clear and the mountains, well, just amazing!

The mountain and the lake are so peaceful here. Even every day they are all stand in the same place. But every time I watch at them still feel so different. The view of points, from the north, south, western and eastern, let them varied per day. The clouds, sun, sky, animals, weather make them outstanding per day. The cold, hot, warm, chill make them feel so different per day. The sorrow, joy, afraid and anger make them special per day.
Even I want to go home some times, the view makes me stay. Respect the nature and every person I met here. Really enjoy my seasonal employee days here.
Jackson Hole Aerial Tram and Gondola Rides is a ski resort located in the beautiful valley of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. With views of both Snow King Mountain and Grand Teton National Park, this resort offers an array of activities for visitors to enjoy during the winter season. The aerial tram ride up to the top of the mountain offers a great way to see all that this ski resort has to offer, while also enjoying happy hour on The Deck, which overlooks the whole of the Hole.
The aerial tram ride was totally worth the money (even if it is a little pricey - order the tickets online for a little discount)! A quick and scenic ride gets you up to the top in 15 minutes (or less, if there's weather coming in). You can easily hike around the summit of the resort and check out some of your favorite ski runs. There is also a waffle shack where you can grab a snack and a beer and enjoy the views. Will definitely come back here again .

This place is so cool! Sadly, we went while the tram was closed for the summer BUT we still had a great time! From the guys working the free parking booth helping us with navigation and offering us a nice map as first time visitors, to the nice employees who made buying tickets for the gondola and ropes course easy and the sweet employees at the ropes course letting me sit in the shade while my sister was on the course- this experience could have only have been better if the smoke from the California fires could've gone away!
Anyways, we will definitely be coming back to do everything we couldn't do yet like mountain biking, hiking and rock climbing! There is just so much cool stuff to do here! This place was definitely a 6 out of 5 stars and definitely has there s%*t together to help families have a wonderful trip! Thanks guys!

Very fun experience. There’s a waffle cabin where you can grab a drink, annnd waffles! It’s about 20 degrees colder up there so dress appropriately. Staff was very nice and informative. You don’t need to be a skier to enjoy this tram!

We had an unforgettable time at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, where the breathtaking scenery immediately captivated us upon arrival. The Aerial Tram and Gondola rides were undeniably the highlights of our trip.
The evening Aerial Tram ride provided a magical and exclusive experience. To save time, you can purchase tickets online or conveniently buy them at counters for the evening gondola. As we ascended, the twinkling lights of the resort and nearby town painted a picturesque scene, which we couldn't resist capturing with our cameras.
Reaching the summit, we were in awe of the panoramic views. The top offered a selection of restaurants to grab a bite while enjoying the stunning views from above. On the day of our visit, we were fortunate to be entertained by a live music band, adding to the memorable evening.
The Gondola ride down the mountain was equally enchanting, as the resort's glowing lights created a warm and inviting atmosphere.
In conclusion, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort with its Aerial Tram and Gondola rides is a must-visit for any adventure seeker or nature enthusiast. The resort provides an extraordinary experience that will undoubtedly leave you with cherished memories.

Purchased the family day pass and spent most of the afternoon here. Free parking and lot of food options at the base. Amazing waffles at the top of the mountain if you take air tram. There are plenty of hiking trails at the top. We did cirque trail which was awesome. Little difficult because of loose rocks and snow patches but doable for casual hikers. There are lot of other activities to do too. Bungee jumping and bike riding options.

The aerial tram was awesome! The ride was smooth. I’m afraid of heights, and only the last minute of the ride up the mountain triggered a bit of panic. But the views from the summit were worth it! The tram operators were friendly and offered advice on things to do in the area. There’s a small cabin at the summit where you can buy waffles, snacks, and drinks. GET THE HOT CHOCOLATE! Delicious.

Good service at the Gondola, nice maps of hiking trails. Just stunning views to wherever you look.
The Restaurant on top was nice with some really good pizza. Having that on the terrace by fabulous sunshine and the great view was awesome. We hiked a couple of trails on top and then decided to walk down. It was no piece of cake and we were late to catch the other Gondola half way down. Our knees and toes suffered a bit on the way down however it is doable. Many nice benches and resting places to take it easy. I hope to be back.

This attraction is very limited for the majority of the visitors. When we went up, it was around 2pm and 30+mph winds. Upon reaching the top, we ordered our $9 waffles then headed back down. (Peanut butter & bacon, and lemon) By the time we came back from the second tram, the winds were 67mph The operators told us that the cable cars could withstand 80mph winds, but advised us to head back down immediately since the winds were picking up so quickly. There was nothing to do at the top. Some people were hiking, and others had their mountain bikes. Weren't able to enjoy the other gondolas that were included in the price, due to the weather, so I can't rate them. Gave 4* for the safety advice of the operator, and the owner interaction. Thank you, Lexi, it was a pleasure speaking with you.

Jackson Town Square is a popular park with iconic elk antler archways at each corner and a grassy center with trees and benches. The reviewers on Trip Advisor who have been there say that it is a great place to sit and people watch, and that it is convenient to all the shops. The creatures in the park are also popular.
What a great place. Luckily it's off season for tourists. Ended up buying a mini hair tie in the fur shop. That's about all most people could afford.

Cool quaint town to eat, shop or just hang out. Very walkable, free public parking with multiple entrances and moderately expensive but beautiful and well stocked shops. Easy 2-3 hours well spent.
We did find a parking spot but no info about fees or clarity if it was free. We did park for 2 hours and no tickets. Some construction at the end of June 2022 making a bit congested in a particular area.

The town square in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, is a delightful destination brimming with character. Anchored by a small park adorned with elk antler arches at its four corners, it offers a picturesque setting for visitors to explore. In the center of the park stands a small yet poignant veterans memorial monument, adding a touch of solemnity to the surroundings. Surrounding the park, you'll find a variety of shops and restaurants, making it the perfect place for a leisurely stroll. Whether you're admiring the antler arches, paying tribute at the memorial, or browsing the nearby establishments, the town square offers a charming experience that captures the essence of Jackson Hole.

The town square of downtown Jackson Hole is very unique and charming. The antler archers on the 4 corners of the town square are a staple for your visit. We enjoyed a beautiful brisk afternoon walking around and popping into the different shops. My main reason for giving 4 stars is that I wish downtown Jackson Hole had more local good/unique shops rather than SO many touristy tee shirt shops.

Jackson Town square is a must see!
Amier arches, have been gales to the Jackson Town Square 1 since 1960. The antlers are from elk that winter on the National Elk Refuge. About 7,500 elk spend each winter on the refuge. The bulls shed their antlers each spring. Antlers are picked up by local Boy Scouts and sold by public auction in this square each May. All four arches were built by the Jackson Hole Rotary Club.
The arches are here for all to enjoy
it is unlawful to remove antlers from
these arches, and subject to $750 in fines.

In Jackson's heart, where legends ride,
A tradition lives, with a cowboy stride.
The Town Square Shootout, a Wild West play,
For sixty-five years, it's held its sway.
Memorial to Labor, each summer night,
The streets come alive, in the fading light.
The Chamber of Commerce, the Playhouse true,
Bring history to life, for me and for you.
From six to seven, the gunslingers stand,
Reenacting the past, a courageous band.
Four million souls, they've witnessed the sight,
Of bullets and showdowns, as day turns to night.
No need for a ticket, no need for a fee,
Just gather 'round, let your spirit run free.
At half past five, on the northeast side,
In Jackson's Town Square, let history ride.

Cozy center of town surrounded by some decent eateries and overpriced tourist trap bars & shops.
The town used to have meaning. Historic value. Check out Clint Eastwood I. 'every which way but loose' and 'every which way you can.' Much of the second film was made in Jackson and one gets a feel for it's charm. We started having annual family camping trips in the 80's near Teton Village. Now the campground is a private gated community with 7 or 8 twenty million dollar homes. Yeah, they're nice but get real. When the average citizen cannot gain access, camp with their kids or share an afternoon doing what families have been doing there for centuries, it makes me sick knowing it belongs to the spoiled few who could in all reality care less about the rest of us, the past struggles of ordinary immigrants and trappers, their sacrifices and harsh realities. Not to mention the natives who once inhabited the land with reverence. The idea of 'owning' the land was preposterous to them. You cannot own the land. You take from it and give back. Let's give it all back to them so it can become as it once was: proud, glorious and free

This is a very unique picturesque public space. It is not very big but very beautiful.
It is surrounded by unique wooden boardwalks, local shops, art galleries and restaurants. One of the most notable features of the town square are the iconic elk antler arches, which were constructed from shed antlers collected from the nearby National Elk Refuge. There is a giant arch at each corner of the square.
The town square serves as a gathering place for locals and tourists, offering a variety of activities and events throughout the year. During the summer, the square hosts farmers markets where visitors can find fresh produce, local crafts and homemade goods. Art festivals, concerts and other cultural events are also held on the square, providing entertainment for visitors of all ages.
In the winter, the town square is transformed into a winter wonderland. Festive lights adorn the trees and an ice skating rink is set up for visitors to enjoy. The annual holiday tradition of lighting the town square Christmas tree attracts locals and tourists alike, creating a joyful and festive atmosphere.
In addition to its attractions and events, the town square is a starting point for exploring nearby Grand Teton National Park and world-renowned Yellowstone National Park. Visitors will find information centers and tour operators around the square, offering guidance and assistance for outdoor adventures.

I went to this place 2 times in the last week on our family road trip. I found it very clean and well maintained with the amount of people that go through there. It has a ton of visitors each day I was there. We did bring 3 of our children and they all liked it as well. There are strict rules about splashing and actual swimming etc. Which I find nice for the atmosphere it's trying to breed. Would definitely suggest going there I'd you are able to.

This was a very fun hot springs to visit. There are multiple pools, each with a different degree in temperature. The price on the weekends is $12 for adults. The price during the week is $8 for adults. They have lockers, but unfortunately it costs 50¢ to actually lock. They have a change machine, so be sure to have some dollar bills handy otherwise you’ll have $4.50 in quarters. There are showers and a changing room for both genders. Parking is across the street or on the street. If you park on the street use your ebrake and turn your wheels to the curb. Overall, I do see me coming back, but during the week when it’s cheaper.

We found the hot springs very well organized and clearly labeled on water temps. The ramps into each pool allowed everyone in our group to adjust to water temps (toddler to senior). The 112F pool has the best shade on the grounds. After soaking we toured the secret garden. It seems to be the same property but only accessible from a path to the east and up the hill behind the historical sign. The garden was very serene and provided plenty of spots to sit and escape the heat. There's a small natural lava cave along the trail. About 2ft high, so be careful to watch your head when in and exciting.

I was just in Thermopolis so I figured I'd try the Hot Springs here too. There is a nominal entrance fee. Bathrooms, showers and lockers. Various pools at different temperatures. Most people were in the coolest of them which I believe is between 102°-105°. They go up to I think 116°. I felt a bit like Goldilocks finding out which one I liked best. I settled on the small pool at 105° and stayed there for 15-20 mins and then moved to the larger cooler pool for a few. Before I left I did dip in the hottest of the pools just for a couple minutes. Couldn't do that for too long. All felt very nice and relaxing though. Definitely worth it.

This is a place our family makes several trips to every year. The hot springs has been a fun tradition. This makes for a easy, laid back and relaxing vacation.
The reason for 2 star review is because the changes and rules over the past several years have gotten a little obnoxious and the cost for entry continues to increase. They are really strict about banning "outside drinks" including water. Today we waited in line while the staff searched every bag of every patron. Re-usable water bottles had to be dumped out prior to entry. It makes no sense.
In the past, your entry was valid all day, that is no longer the case. We used to soak a little in the morning, head out to hit one of the local restaurants, then return to soak in the evening. That's not an option anymore which makes enjoying the springs with hungry kids a lot harder than it used to be. The cost of entry for a family is high enough now that it would be hard to justify paying twice so you soak until the kids get hungry and leave. Maybe that's exactly what the owners want.
Ryan Tuttle — Google review
Visited on a Saturday. Was there from 6pm-8 pm and it was crowded. Two hours was more than enough for me. The pools have different temperatures. The lowest temperature was 102 degrees and it was perfect. Make sure you take plenty of water. I paid $12 and there was no time limit. Very clean facility with bathrooms and changing rooms. I’ve been to Crystal Hot Springs in Utah and have to say that Lava Hot Springs is better.

The visitors center has great information. The free roaming bison are so cool! And the landscape will not disappoint. We didn't see any antelope, but the bison put on a show. We saw one bison at first, then a small group, but eventually drove into several herds of them. Some just casually crossing the road in front and behind our vehicle. We also got several good views of the lake, what's left of it. I was kind of sad to see how much the Great Salt Lake shrunk. The YouTube video did mention the odor and number of flies on the island. The odor wasn’t that bad, but the flies (aka no-see-ums/midges) were an issue. Returning to the city after sunset was a problem. There were so many of them on the causeway that our car and windshield were covered with them. Luckily there was a gas station after you exit the causeway where we could clean our windshield. I still recommend going there to see the bison and lake. The sunset views were from Buffalo Point were amazing.

Absolutely beautiful views! Sure to have a bison sighting. We went twice and saw hundreds each time.

I visited this place in August month. Entrance fee is 15$ for each car. There are few trails and a beach inside. Dogs are not permitted to beach. There is a visitor center inside. It has some information about the wildlife around salt lake. People who are interested in wildlife photography, this is a must place to try it out. Various number of species fly/migrate here. Watch out for those bisons on road they are almost everywhere in the park.

Really great place to visit, just a short distance from the bustle of salt lake city is a wildlife and nature reserve on the shore of the shimmering great salt lake. Lots of buffalo, not that many antelope!

Beautiful views of the mountain and beach area. Got to see the Buffalo but not any Antelope. I don't think we went high enough into the mountains. Checked out the ranch but there was no guide to explain any of the things we were seeing. The mosquitoes were off the chain! Had to use the outhouse style bathroom and although it was clean, mosquitoes tore my buttocks up. Lol. Hiking trail near bathroom wasn't difficult but that walk to the beachfront was something else. Sand gnats everywhere. They didn't bite though. Bar & Grill on beach was closed the day we went. Took us a little over an hour to get there from Salt Lake City. There is a fee per car but only $15. You drive most trails but they did have a few walking. You can also camp there in RVs or tents.

Highly highly recommend visiting!! This was some of the most beautiful and diverse terrain all in one location. We travelled with our 3 dogs so didn’t do a lot of the hiking trails but still were able to see plenty of buffalo and sights! So much fun. Only disappointed that there are seasonal road closures 🤷🏼♀️

Someone suggested I visit this place when I had time. Had 4 hrs to burn so made it out here and OMG this place is so peaceful and beautiful!
Only drove through and walked around Visiter Center and the Ranch but there is sooooo much more to do here! There’s a bunch of hiking/biking trails, camping grounds, horseback riding, and I’m sure a bunch more but 4hrs wasn’t enough!
Don’t think I’d go hiking since there’s a possibility you’ll cross a Bisons path. I will definitely come back to horseback ride when I have at least a whole day to spend!
$15 to drive your car in.

Antelope Island is great in the fall, winter, and spring! Summer has a lot of bugs, but the trails are fun to ride and you'll sometimes see bison, deer, and big horn sheep.

Cool Utah state park with a cafe that serves bison burgers. Also plenty of camping, hiking, & biking options. Horseback riding is also available but refer to website for complete details. Don’t pet the bison!

Lagoon Amusement Park is a seasonal park that provides visitors with thrilling rides and live shows. In addition to the amusement park, there is also a pioneer village and camping available. The park's theming is not the best due to its focus on providing exciting thrill rides for visitors. Prices are somewhat expensive but manageable.
It was very fun. Lines were short but took longer due to most rides (particularly roller coasters) having only one car going. We had done the South end's coasters first, leading up in intensity to eventually do Cannibal and the more intense rides at the North end of the park. There were visual staffing shortages and a lot of teenage employees. Food prices were okay for an amusement park, ranging from 5 to about 15 dollars. It does become very crowded in the Midway area with people stopping to stand in the middle of the walkway and you were always bumping into other people. Rides were great and entertaining with different levels of thrill ranging from kid rides to very intense rides. Since this is more of a family park, avoiding Kiddieland is very good, avoiding longer lines and a lot of little children. Overall a very great experience, and since I have a season passport I get to go almost every weekend.

Lagoon is a fun place. Lots of rides. It was a hot day but with the water spraying area at the front of the park we cooled right off. They have huge amounts of full grown, beautiful trees to give shade. We went during the week so lines were small. The staff are great! My only concern is the pricing, it is steep. They have added really neat areas and have plans for more that look amazing!!! Hopefully they can figure out some better pricing for everyone. Definitely worth supporting our local theme park! Still a less than going to Disney, but also a smaller scale. Great pools, fun pioneer village, awesome water rides, and of course amazing roller coasters. If you haven't been here try to make it. If it's been years you will be delighted by the new arrivals.

I love this amusement park. There is something for everyone. It gets better every year. It has been open since 1886! That’s 10 years before Utah was even a state! I’ve been enjoying this park since about 1984 as a very young child and have always had a great time. I’ve gone through different friendships throughout those years but cherish all the memories I’ve had with my friends that have come and gone in that time. The prices at the park have really gone up, which is really the only bad thing I could say about the park. I don’t think they need to add a new ride every single year. People will keep coming back regardless. I do recommend this place, but no one really needs my recommendation. People from surrounding states even come here because there are no other amusement parks nearby for hundreds of miles.

I've been to many different theme parks around the country. Lagoon stands out to me because of their operations. They are very quick at keeping lines moving. I was also impressed by the friendliness of the staff. My main complaint is the queue lines. There is hardly any queue space, and the lines constantly spill out onto the midway. They have a world class coaster with Cannibal and many other amazing attractions. It is a very family-friendly park. I was impressed with my visits this summer, and I can't wait to return.
Carl TheIntern — Google review
They've really updated the kids area and rides and is just as fun as when I was a kid. Love that they let moms work for season passes as well! Makes the rides go more quickly and smooth too.
Stephanie Barlow — Google review
We came to Lagoon to attend a company party. It was so amazing. They have rides that accommodate everyone! We had various ages from 0-80 I would say. They all had such a blast. There are some water rides for when you get hot, they have a sky lift type ride that will take you from one side of the park to the other. They have rides for the little ones that will keep them going for hours! The staff is friendly and helpful. The food that was served was good and the rides were well maintained and clean. They have it where those with disabilities can get on rides first, but the lines weren't too long which was nice. My only complaint is the parking is expensive, and they don't have enough attendants at closing to direct traffic so everyone can get out safely. We didn't really buy snacks or gifts so I couldn't tell you how much things cost, but I'm sure they are as expected. Will definitely come again. It is worth the trip for family fun.

Would have been 4 stars but there were a few factors. Minimum of 5 rides broke down/stalled while we were in line for them. Must have been our lot that day or something, but we would wait for 15-20 minutes to see if they would fix it but end up leaving. These rides are getting so old. Other than that, other rides were great.
I'd highly suggest to bring a cooler and sandwiches as it's going to taste WAY better than anything that is offered there. I had minimal time to plan so we decided to just eat there. BIG mistake. Spent $10 for each order and I felt like I was back in high school with the quality of the pizza, hamburger and chicken. Lunch and dinner spent about $60 for 2 adults and children. We spent about $300+ for the 3 of us. If you go twice or more, I'd suggest their season pass. I think their 1 time ticket is a bit more expensive than I think it's worth. But it I'd what it is. 🤷

Lagoon Amusement Park has held its place as an enduring American classic since the late 1800s. The park triumphantly endured a destructive fire in the 1950s and underwent a remarkable metamorphosis, emerging as an expansive attraction that stands on par with esteemed counterparts like Seven Peaks and other renowned amusement parks. With a plethora of rides that can easily fill your entire day with excitement, and come Fall, they host Frightmares, a captivating Halloween-themed spectacle. Lagoon undeniably claims the title of the most enjoyable amusement park for a considerable stretch of miles.
Morpheus X — Google review
Oof Lagoon - it has my begrudging respect, but it's really way too expensive for what it is. If at all possible, try to buy it as part of a bundle, or what it's really geared for - a season pass for local families. I'd be much more charmed by it if it weren't so expensive! As it is, I really didn't think it was worth it until I rode Cannibal at the end of the day, and that's a properly good ride.
I also really like Colossus, and love that they have two proper haunted houses. They also have dedicated single rider lines for Wicked and Cannibal, which work really well! Make sure you ask if it's chained off. There are two shows - a magician and an Alice in Wonderland pop music show, and both were better than they had any right to be! And the whole pioneer village area is very unique and quiet.
But on the whole - the park is geared towards families, not the biggest thrills. It's trying to be a big park, but acting like a small one - with smeary hand stamps, tickets per ride, short queue lines - it just can't handle big crowds. And on a Thursday, I barely had to wait for anything, not even Cannibal.

I absolutely love coming here with my husband. We don't have any kids, but we still have fun. Just went to frightmares and paid extra to see the show Seance, and that was so crazy and cool! We also got to ride the new ride primordial. We waited in line for 2 hours. It was worth the wait! Never experienced anything like it and absolutely had a blast. We bought some items in their gift shop.
Leanne Shaw — Google review
Great park, lots of fun rides. The kids area is almost entirely shaded. You are allowed to bring your own food and drinks in which is a rarity these days. We drive in from out of town multiple times a year to enjoy some family fun!
Fairly short waits for most rides.
Remfleg D — Google review
I've always loved going to Lagoon! It's been the highlight of my summers growing up, and now my own kids feel the excitement. We haven't been when the water park was open since i was probably 12 (in 30's now) I'm hoping to make it again this summer. The reason I couldn't give 5 stars is because of the wait to get on any of the rides. I know there's only so much a theme park can do about the wait times, but man, I wish the lines weren't 2+ hours at times. Like I mentioned before, we've been going at the beginning of the season, which could have a play in the wait/ridiculous amount of people, but I'm sure it is crammed full of people no matter the time of year. Do theme parks ever set a capacity? Sounds crazy I know, but it's hard to "get your money worth" when the majority of your time is waiting in a line. I LOVE that they let you bring in coolers too. We love having a lagoon picnic at our set up camp.
If we weren't 6 hrs away, a season pass would be a given. That's the way to do it for sure.
This trip we happened to be in SLC and heard the opening day was while we were here, so absolutely we went! Lines weren't too bad (except the new ride of course 😉) and a storm came through so very few of us stayed and at that point, NO LINES! Except we were wet and Freezing 🥶 WORTH IT 😁
Aleschia Holloway — Google review
I had a lot of fun here! I arrived around 1 and stayed until 9 and still rode most of the coasters. The park wasn't too crowded until the evening time. The rides were thrilling and exciting.
Word of warning: this is an amusement park, not a theme park. The theming is not the best here, because this park is meant for exciting thrill rides.
Prices were okay, but still a bit on the expensive side.
Overall, I enjoyed my experience here and would come here again for just a select few rides. Especially to ride Cannibal a couple more times! If you're a thrill-seaker, this is a must-ride! The initial 105 degree drop produces an unreal feeling I had never felt up to the point of this ride.

Very very fun! Love the rides, the lines weren't too long. They moved at a very efficient pace. Food was pretty good, a little pricey but that's common everywhere nowadays. All in all, had q really fun day here
Heather — Google review
Expensive but plan to spend the entire day here. Tons of ride options and even have a little kid area. Pioneer Village has the popular Rattlesnake Rapids ride (you will get wet!) as well as old buildings to walk around with informational plaques about the history. Ice cream here is fantastic. Lots of eateries everywhere and carnival games to play.
Angela Naylor — Google review
Had a blast! The lines were not to long, I think the longest I waited was about 30 mins which isn't bad honestly. The park was clean, the food was good. The beaver tails were delicious. Cannibal, Wicked, and Colossus were my favorite rides to go on.

We love going to Lagoon each year and always get a season pass. We enjoy that they continue to bring new and innovative rides to the park. We had the opportunity to ride the new Primordial ride yesterday and it’s a fun experience. Something very unique and not found anywhere else. We are excited to ride it again and again.

I visited Lagoon on the opening day of its 2024 season. The park was busy, but most notably the staff felt well trained, friendly, and ready to go for its first day of operation. Cannibal and Primordial are must dos, and the park offers “old school” rides that really set it apart. We had lunch at the Biergarten which offered great food and a large selection of drinks. I look forward to someday returning to this unique amusement park.

Frightmares is the best time to go to Lagoon. We had a blast in the haunted houses we went through (5 out of 8) and absolutely loved the SEANCE and Lore live performances. SEANCE was worth the extra money - such a great experience - and Larson, Ryan, and Curtis went out of their way to accommodate the wheelchair user in our group. I noticed many people among the staff paying special attention and care to our ADA needs throughout the park, and I was very impressed and thankful. It's been a few years since I've been to Lagoon, and it remains my favorite amusement park. I can't wait to come back next year!

Lagoon is such a fun place to go and ride rides for all ages! We went on a day that wasn’t really busy, but we waited 1 hour and 45 minutes to ride their new ride they have. The price per ticket was a little bit expensive for what we got out of it.
Alicia McGraw — Google review
first time being here after leaving across the highway for four years. the new primordial ride is a unique and thrilling ride I've never been on. It's a combo of a roller coaster, interactive, and unpredictable ride. It's a must but damn, we were almost in line for two hours! this was on a Saturday... It's fun, it's cool, and it's crowded. Be prepared, come early, & a pro tip: bring something to do while you wait in line like trivia cards or the flip up phone game.
Saovada Pum — Google review
The tickets are $100ea. and $25 for a fast pass to the Haunted houses (Which I did not go into because the lines are a nightmare). Besides the price Frightmares 2023 was fun.
Recreation area providing boat slips, panoramic viewing areas of the lake & interpretive exhibits.
Amazing. Staff are polite. Disability friendly. And a breathtaking site to see. It is also near a gold and copper refinery. Great place to see natural salt deposits that form right on the beach! There are bathroom facilities. A nice marina too. Good for early spring to fall exploration. There is a 5.00 fee to get in.

This is one of those places you go just to say you’ve been there. $5 per vehicle to get in and decent size parking lot. The visitor center is small but had some interesting information and a few souvenirs.
The smell from the lake was almost unbearable! We wanted to dip a toe in but absolutely no way. This is def a stop for info and pics and not a camp or picnic spot for sure. I wouldn’t drive out of my way, but if you’re in the area, why not stop so you can say you’ve been.

This is worth the $5 entrance fee to enjoy a visitor's center and walk paths for views of the great Salt Lake. The park and its ultrawelcoming staff encourage you to explore and take in fascinating history. The lake is now at its smallest point and has been reshaped over 14,000 years. Learn about brine shrimp (also known as sea monkeys) and the habitat. There is a great little gift shop with post cards and trinkets curated from the salt of the lake. There are many educational signs as you meander short paths and take in views of the lake. On this side the salt is lower and they encourage you to put your hand in and are so moved We went on a hazy day. I couldn't tell if that was related to mining operations or something else, but nothing that felt like it tarnished the experience.
Jennifer Ng'andu — Google review
We came to see the sunset over the lake and was not disappointed. This time of day presented some of the best light I’ve ever seen for photographs. The visitor center closes at 5, and we got there just as it was closing. We didn’t get to see the inside exhibits, but there are some outdoor interpretive signs about the lake at a nearby overlook. There are also signs outside the visitor center that tell you about the copper plant nearby.

Great Salt Lake State Park providing access to a picturesque view of the lake. The visitor center is convenient, featuring a small store and clean restrooms for visitors. However, the park lacks substantial recreational activities beyond enjoying the scenic beauty. If you're looking for a peaceful spot to appreciate the Great Salt Lake's allure and enjoy basic amenities, this park is worth a visit.

Super pretty place although the water is super low and kinda gross when it’s this low, there also isn’t a whole lot to do here unless you have a kayak or something so I don’t know if it’s worth the money to get in It’s still a really great place to see the lake though!

One of the best nature places in Salt Lake City. A bit of a drive from the city. Walk on the lake's shore. If clear and sunny, great view of lake, mountains. The ranger station is helpful w answers. Buy a small container of salt for your table. Spectacular view of stars at night.
I also recommend Antelope Island.

Worth a visit. Great scenery. Very cool seeing a vast lake and knowing the only living things in it are brine shrimp and flies. Tons of flies. The smell isn't great by the shore, but it's ok at the lookout.

Worth the $5 vehicle fee to check out at least once. The visitor’s center has an interesting little exhibit that explains the geographical history behind the salt lake. Friendly staff, clean bathrooms. And there are sea monkeys, which is fun! (Brine shrimp that live there.) There’s a small, smelly marina. Haven’t the slightest desire to hop in a boat but to each their own. There are dead pickled birds scattered across the shore. Some salt deposits which are cool to see. I wouldn’t take your dog off the leash here. Glad I visited but don’t feel the need to come back.

I have visited this state park several times, but only in winter. From there you can see part of Antelope Island. They have a telescope to observe and you can also see the Great Saltier. In winter, it is very cold especially if there is wind. Here I share some images from our Utah's Lakes and Reservoirs photography project. Contemplating the Great Salt Lake never disappoints. It is a walk very close to the city that everyone will experience.

Such a breathtaking landscape. Photos you take will never do it justice. Admission was $5. The one thing I didn't expect were the flies. Bring bug spray.

Very disappointing. Not well maintained and the beach smells awful. They charge you five dollars to enter the park. They have a small viewing area that overlooks the lake, and you can walk out to the small beach area. You have to walk through brush to get out to the beach. This area could be so much more than it is if the state would put a little effort into the location. Very disappointing compared to the other state parks.

The Salt Lake Temple is being renovated. The renovation project is in
the third year. Over the past two years, two tower cranes were erected on the north and south sides of the temple. These cranes have been used for various purposes, such as removing stones from the walls and towers. Temple Square is well worth a visit, and visitors can go inside the Tabernacle. There are church volunteers available for any questions.

As we walked the square during the very cold evening, there were no people, and ultimately, no views of the Chapel...as there was a full-on construction project being done with a full-on 10' fence with razors surrounding the Chapel. They even had the surrounding block dug out to sub levels of the street. Amazing to see this scale of change being done right in the middle of the square! It's really something to be seen first hand... especially at night. Looking forward to the progress and ultimately the finished product. Amazing

The three girls in the picture accompanied my wife and I and and other couple. On the tour it was very impressive. The temple is over 175 years old. Temple Square is partially under construction right now. But this is an incredible place. The temple on the square took pioneers 40 years to build. There are multiple visitors centers where you can watch videos and see exhibits to learn more about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and it's members.
The centerpiece of Temple Square & the Mormon Church, this ornate structure was dedicated in 1893. With beautiful grounds and the Temple itself, it's an interesting place to visit for cultural tourism. There's also a pretty indoor/outdoor mall just across South Temple called City Creek Center.
This temple is so beautiful and so historic. I have loved coming here! We'll see what it is like after the seismic renovations. It will still be amazing! A great place to come and visit!

As an internationally recognized symbol for a specific religion, this is an iconic building to see in SLC. It's noticeable in the skyline of the city and is very well known amongst Latter-day Saints.
They light Temple Square up to the gills with Christmas lights every year, and it's always fun to walk around. The building itself is pretty spectacular - it took a very long time to build in many years ago. If you are a believing Latter-day Saint, this building and visiting it will mean much more to you than the casual observer recognizing different faith traditions. However, it is an architectural structure and can still be recognized for it's beauty. This is simply my rating as a work of architecture. It is a symbol for a Christian religion that has major influence in Salt Lake City. As a tourist coming to visit, it's a building that will likely be on your bucket list in SLC.

Temple Square is almost always open, but we learned the hard way that it is closed Thanksgiving day.
We still had a good time walking around the perimeter. The front view of the temple was available by going in by the Joseph ith Memorial Building.
The weather was beautiful and it was fun to be there when very few others were there.

Temple Square is so beautiful. The museum is such an interesting segway to see how the religion began and understanding who the people are and what they stand for.
The volunteers were so knowledgeable and friendly, ready to talk, and answer any and all questions you may have!

Utah Olympic Park, built for the 2002 Winter Olympics, is a sprawling complex that offers various activities and sports events. It features ski jumps of different heights ranging from 10m to 120m, bobsled-luge track, and Nordic combined events. The park hosts national competitions throughout the year and is also used by professional athletes for training purposes. One can engage in adventure ropes courses or take zip-lining rides while exploring their inner athlete.
We did the bobsled experience and it was awesome! So much fun! That being said, if you're having second thoughts, it really isn't as scary as you might think. Very similar to a wooden rollercoaster ride.
The park itself is amazing in the winter. Lots of cool things to see!

You should take some time and go here if you are visiting Park City. You can watch ski jumpers do their acrobatic tricks into the water for free. For $85 you can do 3 1/2 hours of sliding the tubes down the ski hill or the alpine slides or the zip lines. We went on a Thursday afternoon and it didn’t feel too busy. The skiers are very entertaining to watch.

There may be more to do in the summer. The museums were great and free! Get there before 3 p.m. for guided tours. They have a ski jump simulator, which was fun! Overall, a nice experience if you are looking for a break from the slopes.

Our visit the Olympic Park proved to be a highlight our visit to Park City. Three members of our family participated in the Bobsled experience and they were so happy with it. They all came off the mountain sporting wide grins and giggles. The museum which is free to the public proved to be an exceptional display. I loved every exhibit! We all said we would visit again given the chance.

They have lots of training areas to view the athletes. One place is right outside the Olympic museum with divers and skiers both able to land in a pool of water. And it is all handicap accessible if needed

Cool place to check out if you are nearby. It’s free admission, you only pay if you want to participate in any activities. They allow you to walk up to the top, we had on sandals so didn’t make it to the top. There’s a museum inside worth seeing. I give it 4 stars because the activities are over priced.

Utah Olympic Park did not disappoint - we visited with our 3 boys ages 12 to 16. Highly recommend taking the guided tour which takes you up to the top of the ski jump and bobsled areas with incredible views - come a little early and watch the future Olympians training. Also take time to walk through the Museum which is free and has several interactive experiences. Thoroughly enjoyed!

This place is impressive if you are a winter sports fan, or Nordic fan especially. The museum is interesting and nostalgic. The venues are fantastic. For all those kids getti.g, to compete at the OP it's a once in a lifetime experience. Definitely worth visiting even if you're just passing by. Free to enter the museum.

Had so much fun bobsledding! Went so quick but glad I can check this off my bucket list. Only complaint was that they did not enforce mask wearing, which was mandated by the state when I was there. Several people were not wearing their masks on the bus ride up and in the safety video room.

Free museum with very cool exhibits and interactive simulators. Great place if you like skiing, Olympics, or winter sports! Guided tours available. In between winter and summer hours and access to some areas may be limited. Very good place to visit on your way into town!

Always an amazing adventure at Utah Olympic Park. This time we did the extreme tubing down the ski jump and had such a thrill.
No wait and despite being the weekend, we were able to get right on the hill. Taking the lift up to the ski jump was peaceful and a fun addition to the experience.
Lots of olympic memorabilia and history to view in the main lobby. Parking is easy and close. There are even lockers for purses and handbags.

Exciting summer activities for kids 10years + such as zipline, extreme tubing, ropes course to name a few. Perfect place for adventurous kids.
The staff are very friendly and take time to help answer questions. Some rides require hiking paths to reach them but are worth the effort. Arrive on time and the lines are not long.

Impressive facility in a very picturesque setting, good museum and facility tour. It is close to a very beautiful alpine style town Park City, which is nestled into the valley. Two massi e off leash dog fields, and a bridge for skiers to come off the slope right into town A place that knows who and what it is catering for. Very busy, lots of pre , and apres ski, perfect March break weather sun and snow.

What a blast the bobsled is to ride. I highly recommend doing this ride for several reasons. 1. It is fun. 2. It helps to support track maintenance and the workers needed to make it happen. 3. Proceeds from this and the store benefit our Olympians.
All you do is, pay for the ride, take a free shuttle to the finish line where you receive instruction from Carl, receive another free shuttle with your bobsled and professional driver to the starting point, get in the sled 1, 2, 3, and sit down 3, 2, 1 and hang on while you reach 65 to 70 mph and experience up to 3 and 4 g's. You will be hooked and if like us, we did it again the following day.

I really didn't know what to expect. I read that some Olympic athletes trained there, but that was about it. It turned out that there were about a dozen kids and early 20's people practicing on the smaller jumps and landing in a pool. We enjoyed watching that. The bobsled run also had some paid participants. We opted out since it cost $100. It was still fun to watch. The biggest surprise was going to the top of the ski jump. I had no idea it was that high. Those athletes are crazy! Many rides for the whole family. Highly recommend!

Our family spent Memorial Day morning at Utah Olympic Park - it was an incredible experience!
We loved the Extreme Zip, Alpine Slide, Canyon Rope Course, Airbag Drop, Drop Tower, and the views from the chairlift. Tubing wasn’t available the day we went.
Everyone was smiling, while enjoying these fun outdoor activities, in a beautiful setting.
Highly recommend!
Located at the top of Park City on Deer Valley's Summit, this renowned resort offers skiing, snowboarding and other activities in winter. The resort bustles with beautiful autumn colors and offers a true ski-in/ski-out experience.
Park City Mountain is great for so many reasons. The mountain itself is huge especially after the recent connection with The Canyons. It’s also very easy to get around for such a large mountain. There’s a ton of terrain for every level of experience. The town of Park City is also a great ski town with everything from cool dive bars to high end art galleries. Highly recommended!

Neat place to check out even in the off season. We did the alpine slide and it was pretty fun. You take a ski lift to the starting point and it's a pretty long ride to the bottom. We did wish they had a ticket option that would give you more than one ride but we had a good time. There are multiple restaurants and shops to check out and several other attractions. City buses also stop here often so you could explore other nearby points of interest with ease.

6 of us skied last weekend and had a wonderful experience. All of us various levels so skied green to Double black and all enjoyed the runs and variety and size of the resort. Food was excellent. Shuttles to mountain from main St Park City to Canyons was convenient and easy. Many lifts were fast. Highly recommend. Beautiful weather

Amazing routes. All skill ranges. Relearned boarding the hard way. Spent a couple days on Park City Mountain. Highly recommended Canyons Village for Intermediate- Advanced as it’s always a little less crowded with the kiddos and beginners. Or stay near the tops of the peaks and send harder routes. Favourite had to be monkey powder (black) where you ski through some tight forest and tree line. Can get very skill heavy.
Had amazing fresh powder and snow days the week of Christmas through new year.
Routes in the morning were a little delayed on opening. Cause of heavy snow fall. If you’re going to park at the base of the mountains by the lifts plan on getting there early, like 7:30am. Gear up and get in line by 8. Otherwise be prepared to be behind hoards of people in line for the base lifts.

I am extremely happy with my experience here! I am still learning how to ski, while my boyfriend has been snow boarding for years, and we were both able to enjoy the mountain together. There were tons of trail options available for all skill levels and the maps were easy to navigate. One of my most absolute favorite things about Park City, and the reason I’m writing this review, was the staff! Starting from parking, to the season pass office, etc, we were greeted with friendly staff who were more than willing to answer questions. I was AMAZED with the hospitality provided. The park “hosts” greeted us on the mountain and even on the lifts, giving us all the great tips and tricks to make our day fun. There were multiple occasions where we weren’t sure where to go, and all we had to do was turn around and find a person in a red shirt who happily gave us direction. Even the mountain safety staff was beyond kind! Special shout out to Jeff in the mountain safety team - I was moving slow at the end of the day and he took the time to make sure my boyfriend and I were okay and safe as we made our final run down the mountain. So far this is my favorite ski experience I have had and I can’t wait to come back. We even saw moose at the end of our day!!!! So cool!! 10/10 highly recommend!!

Not worthy of even 1 star. Disgusting, rude and unprofessional customer service at the ticket office by Darrell Evans. This man should not be allowed anywhere near paying customers!!! I will never ever set foot in Park City again. The lift lines were over 2 hours long, Yes 2 hours!!! See the photos...you pay $264 for a day of skiing except you don't ski, you spend the day in long, long lines just to get on a lift. The prices are super expensive. For example, a half day ticket will cost you $211 for 4 hours of skiing. DONT COME HERE!!! GO SKI ELSEWHERE!! MR OWENS YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOSING SOME VERY LOYAL CUSTOMERS AS WELL AS OUR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS!! LEARN TO BE RESPECTFUL OR GET OUT OF THE BUSINESS! Park City, shame on you for taking people's hard earned money to have them stand in line for hours. And...for hiring someone like Mr. Owens to assist your customers. He should be taking out the trash that way it matches his professionalism! Park City your loss is Jackson Hole's gain! BYE BYE BYE!!!

Excellent place for first time skiers! The mountain wasn’t crowded on Wednesday or Thursday, and we were able to get right on lift. The routes were great because even at the top of mountain you could take a green route, so as a beginner you could still go to top. Homerun was THE most fun route, 3.5 miles of cross country turns and then some steeper slopes with the best views EVER! The snow was well maintained and powdery, a perfect spot for beginners learning. The whole lodge was convenient and easy to get around walking in your ski boots (parking, food, rental equipment, bathrooms are all in main building at bottom of mountain).

Nice little town, specially if you are a skier ⛷️ we stay for two nights at the Marriot mountain vacation club, and enjoy the time and place. Restaurants are a bit pricey and during September to November many places closed down. People are friendly, if you are a skier you will enjoy a lot this place and probably will pay more than we did as we stayed during the off season.

Park city mountain is my favorite mountain. It is well maintained and it's huge. The free shuttle system is absolutely incredible. This has been my second year traveling out west to visit this mountain. It's always a blast and there's many bathrooms and places to eat all around the mountain

So, I’m definitely more of a Brighton girl, but Park City is starting to grow on me. It’s truly a different experience every time you’re there. I mean, it’s so big, how can it not be?? If it’s your first time here, I’d recommend starting at Canyons Village. I just think it’s more fun over there. Work your way over to the other side of the mountain if you need to. The coolest part about that side is the Town Lift, which takes you right into town. And, there’s a free shuttle that takes you to each base, so you can get lost and still make it back to your car.

Wether you are a beginner skier or a pro the Park City Mountain is the ideal place to hone and practice your skills. They feature one of the longest in the USA green runs -3.5 miles long. It’s a perfect place for the beginners and families with small kids. They even have a small ice rink. Although I saw four years old kids navigate blues like no tomorrow. The ski school offers all day long kids lessons, half a day adult lessons or private instructors. All together the resort employs over 100 instructors. The ski area is endless, they have so many slopes with various degree of difficulty and the Epic lift pass also works with the Canyons near by. You can spend a week hear and still not to hit all the runs. The resort ski area features many equipment rental companies but if you rent from Legacy Sports Rentals you can valet your equipment overnight. Also keep in mind that locker rentals are on daily basis only but if you need to store helmets and boots overnight you can rent a valet cubby right next to the lockers. There is a plethora of dining options, all pricey as expected at places like these. The quality of food versus prices definitely needs improvement. Vending machines are selling water for $5 a small bottle. After a weekend of skiing you will be ready to sell a kidney to cover the cost. All of the staff working the resort: ski valets, instructors, rental personnel, administrators were helpful and friendly. If you love snow slopes and snow sports and have some expandable cash Park City is the place to be.

DISGUSTING ATTITUDE AND POUR COSTUMER SERVICE FROM “manager” DARRELL EVANS!!! HE HAS TO BE FIRED IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!
CAN NOT EXPRESS ENOUGH WITH WORDS HOW ANGRY WE ARE RIGHT NOW AND HOW DISRESPECTFUL THIS PERSON TREATED US!!!
Came to ski ( from Miami Feb 24th to 28th ) in Canons and Park City, but due to the incredible amount of people ( pictures/videos attached), we couldn't do much. We arrived early ( Saturday the 25th ) and started the line for the gondola at 8:30 a.m., and after almost 3 hours in line, we were able to get in the gondola to start the day around noon!
Almost four hours in the morning were wasted making a line and using a gondola just to encounter hundreds of people making more lines for chairlifts.
We paid ($250 plus tax per day, almost $270 ) for a full day of skiing and we only got maybe 2 hours of skiing.
Some chairlifts close at 3:30 p.m. as well. We are coming from out of state and we are on vacation for only three days of skiing.
When we arrived at the ticket window and explained our concern to this employee, (”manager”) the lack of arrogance and audacity was beyond insolence. He did not care about anything we were saying. He was not willing to help us in any way and was making fun of us.
Here we are on our last day of skiing and wanted to ski for half a day and the price for a half-day ticket is almost $230!!!! The full price is $250, ridiculous!
After the explanation that was provided to this employee, he refused to assist us in any way. When I asked if I could take a picture of his name tag, he offered to pose with a thump up and a big smile! That was when we lost it!
I don’t think I can describe the frustration!!!
I don’t understand why this company has this kind of employee working for them.
Extremely disrespectful and unprofessional!!!
We could have paid for half a day, but his attitude ruined the whole experience and we decided just to leave. This place is not worth it!!!
Not coming back again to be treated this way!
Darrel Evans’s supervisor was not helping either. After we left for a few minutes, we needed to speak to Darrel’s supervisor, but he seemed not to care either!
WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!

Expensive resort. If you want to pay the premium of $300+ day pass by all means go ahead. Please do your own research well before entering the resort. I suggest checking out other alternative resorts for better pricing. There are way cheaper resorts that are near Park City that are $50-$100 for a day pass. I paid about $300 for a lift ticket without a lesson. I only went to this resort because I thought they had price options for the beginner slopes with the magic carpet, but they did not. It was too late to go elsewhere by the time I got there. Beautiful place and friendly field operators. The customer service on the phone was degrading me during the call. He was sarcastic, rude, and made remarks. He was not helpful at all. I definitely will not return to this resort and not recommend it to my family and friends due to my experience with their office customer service.

Beautiful breathtaking resort. We had gone early December, so more than a few runs and lifts were closed because of how early it was. But there were plenty of blues and greens to keep us busy and challenged for our level.
Bus system was straightforward from the main mountain to the canyon side, but was fairly confusing to get back and accidentally went the wrong way. If all the lifts were open though you could get there via lift.
Not crowded. No waits. Well maintained slopes. Overall, really great

I posted the early season prices.
Absolutely 💯 amazing.
I'm coming up to the largest ski area in the United States. The lifts are top notch and the crowds are mitigated by the express online order and outside expedited fulfillment.
On the high valley transit system, you can visit the rest of the best ski resorts in America.
Family friendly, plenty of facilities that use zero waste toilet 🚻s.
I recommend you go see for yourself.

Wonderful place. A bit on the pricy side but there is so much to do and some unique animals to see. Real pricey, but worth it. Definitely buy tickets in advance if you know you want to go (on the website you can buy cheaper tickets up to 3 or 4 weeks in advance). But my kids had a great time looking at all the exhibits and playing on the playground outside. The jungle gym inside cost extra, but is worth the couple extra dollars. It’s super fun for kids and helps them get their energy out.

Absolutely wonderful aquarium! Great for children and adults. Plan to spend at least 2 hours here if you want to see all the exhibits.
If you buy tickets in advance they cost about $17, for day-of they're $25, either way it's money well spent because this aquarium has so many amazing animals to look at.
There's something for everyone here, sharks, fish, penguins, amphibians, reptile, birds and even some mammals like sloths and big cats. There's a few touch pools with rays, anemones and starfish. The aquarium is laid out really well and everything is presented really nicely. There's tons of information and educational things to read throughout the exhibits. My favorites were the saltwater tanks, so clean and beautiful, I could look at them for hours.

Had a fantastic time here with my wife on a Wednesday afternoon. The animals are of course gorgeous, and I love learning about underwater life, both in the oceans and rivers. Also, the food isn't half bad, and the maintenance is great. The staff do a really good job educating people on all the different parts of the aquarium you can visit. Also, it should be entirely accessible for children and the differently abled. I really recommend going here for date night or with family and friends!

Its so super cool here! I really appreciate the animal information panel next to each exhibit, the fish usually have many on 1 panel so its fun to search for each like a little game. Also AMAZING fries, the food was AWESOME, id dare say they have "McDonald" level of sprite. Its a unique taste to get and they nailed it, how funny is that!

This was our first time here. I loved the shark tank that you get to walk through and the penguins! So much to see. My tip is to get tickets in advance online and go in right when they open, to see some of the exhibits without crowds and lots of kids. It is easier to get pictures when there aren't as many people and when lots of kids come in it can get loud. There are lots of animals and exhibits to see and it is definitely worth the admission price.

I love this place! It is just expensive so the only way we have gone is with field trips, or as a guest with someone else. But there is a lot to see here, especially for the kids. The penguin exhibit is a favorite. Also the Otters. But they were a no show when we were there last time. I loved seeing the octopus. It was one of my favorite things. I love the sea horses too. I wish we could have seen the sloth too. But it was hiding. Lol. I'm so glad we were able to visit though!

My family went to this place on Saturday, and we had a lot of fun. We went in the evening, so several of the animals were asleep, but we enjoyed the otters, some of the turtles, the stingrays, the seahorses, and several other creatures and animals that are there. Many of the employees were very knowledgeable about the animals and had a lot of great information to share with us.

My family and I have been to quite a few aquariums around the US at this point, and this one is by far one of the best! The habitats and tanks are all very clean and well maintained and the animals all seem happy.
The layout is fantastic. Separated by region, it allows someone to really immerse themselves in the differences of species and habitats in each area. My favorite exhibit was the honey bees! So cool to see them in action up close.
There are also several interactive exhibits for the whole family, and specifically my small child enjoyed each one. The virtual experience is definitely worth doing, even if there is a wait. Go for it!

I bought an annual membership this year, so I visit this aquarium several times a month, usually every Sunday.
If you're also planning on coming on a Sunday, I highly recommend coming early, preferably within the first few hours of opening, in order to beat the nomal post-noon crowds. Many times when I leave after 1PM on a Sunday, the line for tickets is well out the door.
As for the aquarium itself, it's smaller than many others I've visited but just the right size to go through it within a couple of hours. I very easily spend a couple hours every time I visit just watching the animals (although that may be because I am a huge animal nerd). It's no Atlanta Aquarium, but the shark tank tunnel is still quite lovely to sit in when it isn't super crowded, and I love the variety of displays and animals that they have.
There's tons of parking and places to sit within the aquarium, and the food and drinks at the small cafe is nice enough for what it is. Overall, I will be renewing my annual membership every year moving forward, and I'm looking forward to the future expansions.

Loveland living planet aquarium offers so many features that keep me and my child entertained for hours. One of our favorite parts of seeing the sharks in the large tank and being able to see them swim over our heads as we go through the tunnel. It is always very neat and clean and the staff is friendly! I do feel that a day pass is overpriced, but they do offer a student and military discounts. I also believe that seniors and children get discounts as well.

We’ve been to quite a few aquariums in and out of state. This one by far is the cleanest and has the nicest setup. You start at one side and it wraps around and feeds into other zones. Our favorite is the jelly fish and shark tank. The kids love the sting ray petting tank and jungle room.
We visited on ZaP day and it was so busy! Definitely a good deal and we love to support our locals zoo programs, but the aquarium is better on a slow day when you can actually walk through each exhibit. Other than that, 5/5 experience with staff and other patrons.

We went to a special they were hosting an event, and we have been here once before. It is an awesome visit! The variety of creatures is really great! They also have many different animals and are featured to match the region they are showing. One of my favorites is the Jouney to South America. They have so many awesome things to see, from plants, birds, reptiles, a few smaller mammals, and of course.. fish! The kids get to cross a fun bridge and enjoy the colors of the various animals presented.
They have a small play area for you to rest and kids to be rambunctious!
They also have featured events or camps as well as animal encounters you can pay to experience! There are options such as penguins or stingrays interactions.
They also have a unique, deep sea creature looking metal structural piece outside with a fun story! Check it out!

It was super fun for a little date with my husband. We haven't got kids and it was even really fun for just the two of us. They don't have only fish, they've got lots of animals and creatures to see. My only qualm is that the food at the cafe was super expensive. We spent more on food for the two of us than we did for our tickets. Also, it's much cheaper if you buy your tickets online, and a week or more in advance.

Really great aquarium. Tickets are pretty expensive but worth it. It isn't just fish, there are also penguins and a rainforest area. You could spend two hours hanging out seeing everything.
We bought tickets to the penguin encounter as well. It was super cool. We got to feed the penguins and get up close and personal to them. It's definitely a splurge, but I'd recommend it 100%.
The pretzels at the cafe are to die for.

We LOVE this aquarium! It’s always clean, the staff are always so friendly and of course the animals are the cutest.
TIP - purchase tickets online in advance for slightly cheaper prices and a quicker entrance!

It was a memorable visit to the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium today. I thought it would be confined to a few fish and animals only but was surprised to see the range of members of the animal kingdom in this aquarium. It includes a range of fish, crocodiles, sharks, piranha, frogs, snakes, spiders, otters, Penguins and sloth and the list is much longer. One certainly needs a minimum of 3-4 hours to visit the entire exhibits. If you are on time you can enjoy a 4 D show which we couldn't see. It is advisable to book tickets online in advance for a better deal.
Considering that one has to be in the premises for a very long time if possible they should give more varieties of food items taking divergent people into consideration and prices could also be a bit competitive.
Overall a good experience.

My Wife and I went on a date here and we loved it! The aquarium is always fun and amazing to see. We enjoyed the EECO virtual experience and the attendants that were operating the attraction were super helpful when my headset wasn't calibrated right. Obviously, sometimes the animals won't be out or active when you visit. But they were very lively when we were there, and we couldn't be happier!

Pretty cool place. The exhibits were well done and informative. The staff were friendly, helpful, and respectful. It was surprisingly quiet for a Sunday. I expected massive crowds but there was no wait to get in and it wasn’t horribly crowded.
Deer Valley Resort is a ski resort located in the town of Park City, Utah. The resort features hotels, condos, and shops along with restaurants and activities. It is one of the most popular resorts in Park City and offers many activities such as skiing, snowboarding, tubing, cruising on a small lake for kayakers or stand up paddle boarding.
Amazing ski resort. Amazing terrain. I was able to make it on a beautiful blue bird week. They had enough snow to make it worth it. Great conditions. Steep terrain, but enough for everyone. If you are a skier it is a place you must visit. Worth the price. It can be over the top but the terrain and conditions are worth the price of admission even if it is for one day.

The staff was amazing. The lodge is a bit confusing at first but there were plenty of workers to help guide you where to go. The ski school was probably the best I've experienced so far (I haven't experienced many to be fair). The runs were fun. I will say there is probably more for more experienced riders. It's also reasonably priced! And free parking too with a shuttle that brings you to the lodge. One downfall is no snowboarding.

as someone who enjoys a bit of pampering now and then look no further. if you want that and more head to deer valley for some of the best skiing in one of the most sumptuous settings with the most attentive and friendly service i have experienced. lovely hotels, delicious meals and powder, powder, and more powder await. we could not have been happier that we made deer valley one of our ski destinations in a state that offer so many. thank you utah, we'll be back and we'll spread the word for sure!

Family friendly ski (only) resort. This place was so much fun. The best groomers and a great balance of greens/blues/blacks. I found the weekday traffic to be lower than other places so there was plenty of room to roam all day. Would do again.

My friends and I had the worst time at another resort (Park City Mountain). Kind of glad because we would never have gone to Deer Valley otherwise. For a first time ever in life skier, it was a fantastic experience. Smooth process checking in. We got ski lessons. Instructor Todd was the best!!!! All staff were kind and patient with us newbies. Thanks so much! See you soon!

Went for some mountain biking and it did not disappoint. I’m new to the sport and this was by far my favorite day on my bike yet. I hate pedaling and having the lift was amazing. Tidal wave jump track is so enjoyable. If you haven’t ridden here yet, it’s time to change that!

Best ski resort I’ve ever been to. Amazing service, food, and the runs are great! The groomers get a lot of the blues and all of the greens groomed almost every night, and the blacks are amazing for more advanced skiers! I personally enjoyed the blacks over by the Mayflower lift, but they’re super hard, so unless you’re an advanced skier, I wouldn’t try them! The lift lines can get super long if you don’t wake up and get over there early enough, so make sure you’re over there and getting your skis on BEFORE Carpenter and Silver Lake open. Anyway, this resort is amazing, and it’s kept me coming back for 8 years!

Though the base lodges can give you the impression the place is super crowded the mountain is big enough so skiers are spread far and wide. Like Alta this resort is skiers only. Lots of great trails for all abilities. Lines for the most part are short to non existent... during the week at least. We don't do weekends.

This review concerns the skiing activity at Deer Valley. My son and I skied here on a snowy Friday and enjoyed it a great deal. We parked in the free parking and took the shuttle provided up to the base, which worked well for us. The high-speed lifts get you lots of vertical and the staff are very professional and capable. We enjoyed a delicious lunch from their famous cuisine. Lunch hour seating was at a premium, however. My only complaint is that the lifts gather at the top of the ski runs, which means you may end up at the bottom at the wrong lift....

My favorite Utah resort on a “bad” snow day. Runs are always very well maintained and groomed. It’s a huge resort with tons of lifts.
It’s very well staffed, and the staff care a lot about your experience.
It’s a great ski resort to check out if you are 1. a local with an Ikon pass or 2. made of money.
5/5!

We didn't stay at the property, we just ate there. Excellent service by some fun Jamaican servers. They always add a fun spice to your experience. Other than the fact that it was ridiculously expensive, it was fun.
Johnny G — Google review
The pros:
*Parking lots are full but everyone hangs out in the lodge so there are no lines at the lifts. Interesting that no one actually skis when they come here
*Hot water in the bathrooms is unlike any other resort in Utah
*not young kids running lifts. All older professional people
*It's not like other resorts where you ski through nature and picturesque mountains. It's more like skiing in people's back yards which is really weird. One of the chairlifts literally takes you over a road

Deer Valley is the place for skiers. It is one of the most beautiful landscapes.
Lots of lifts long runs.
If you like moguls there are plenty.

Bridal Veil Falls is a scenic waterfall located close to U.S. route 189 with a paved trail and picnic area equipped with tables. The falls are accompanied by frozen sections that enhance its beauty making it an ideal spot for sightseeing. It provides an opportunity for a short hike along the river, showcasing a series of waterfalls providing picturesque views.
Beautiful falls along U.S. route 189. Passed through at the beginning of February here while on a trip to see the Ice Castles in Midway and this was a very nice side stop during the trip. The snow and frozen sections of some of the falls made it even more breath taking! Well worth the stop!!

Great experience and worth the visit . Make sure you view the falls from both view points. Pool water is fun for the children to play in and throw stones, but water is cold. Great story behind the falls, read and let your mind imagine.

Definitely a great place to get out and walk around when the weather is nice! I walked along the Provo river trail that goes past the falls and it's a very easy walk. I also got to walk into the falls a little and it's so beautiful. Truly a gem local to Provo.

This a beautiful place. Nice hike along the River and has a several water falls. This is a nice ares to come with you hall family. It has picnic ares. Just a beautiful place to spend the day.
Teri Palacios — Google review
Well, it was a beautiful day to go when I headed out there on May 9th, 2023, but it'll be a while before anyone can get reasonably close to the actual falls. A massive avalanche has essentially wiped out the path, and while you can technically hike on it, I wouldn't recommend doing that.
Jeff Of The Mountains — Google review
Overall, I had a really good time hiking up to the waterfall! It's been a few years, so I was excited to see what's changed. One of those changes being that there's some construction fencing up at the base of the water fall. I'm not sure why, but it does kind of detract from the experience a little bit. Since it's still cold outside, there was some snow and ice left on the trail, but not so much so that it made the hike hard. I will say that the view was very beautiful and definitely worth it for the short little hike. I will say that it probably would have been better to go a little bit later in the day when the sun is up higher because being in the shadows was a little on the chilly side. Anyways, fun little hike that doesn't take too long and still lets you get outside!
David Weibell — Google review
Anyone can do it. It’s a short walk, about .5 miles on a paved path from the parking lot. However, we tried climbing up to the falls and it was pretty sketchy, so be careful.
McKay Kriser (McKriser) — Google review
Beautiful water falls and the colors during the fall are breath taking! Take a ride or walk down the trail that connects, or fly fish in the stream!! You’ll love it!

Unbelievably Amazing water falls! They are huge. This place is amazing for kids and adults. Great place for family's who want to go on walks or those aggressive bike riders! One of the best parts is that the falls are right off the highway! Makes it easy to get to and get some amazing pictures. You can hike up to be closer to the falls and get an even more amazing view!

Visited Bridal Veil Falls Area in May 2023 Beautiful Falls, However with the Heavy Run- off from the Major Snow Utah received this Year. The Park portion was closed, along with the River. But you could still take in the sights from the Parking Area
tom thompson — Google review
We just went and it's mostly closed, major avalanche. We hiked up it for a bit (not recommended, very dangerous) and to get to where the path used to be we were on top of about 30-50 feet of snow. Definitely wait until it's cleared before you plan on spending time at the falls.
Joshua Black (Josh) — Google review
Pathways, trails, and main parking lot still closed from avalanche. The falls were glorious, as always, but the best view at this point is the viewing area further up the highway. You can still park inside the main gate and walk to the picnic area and enjoy the river and trees. No bathrooms. The debris flow is going to take months to clean up, and the upper part of Old Provo Canyon Road is in a serious state of erosion. Watch your step and don't try to hike on the unstable avalanche leftovers.
TheClumsyJedi — Google review
Just a short 15 minute drive from Downtown Provo, Bridal Veil Falls is a must visit. With an easily accessible pull off and trails, visitors can spend a whole day exploring the area. Currently under an avalanche, but still as scenic as ever.
Michael Binkley — Google review
Beautiful waterfall with great trails accessible to anyone for viewing. The remaining avalanche debris is definitely drawing a crowd
Stunning park! And super chill! You can park at each of the hikes, so they are easy to get to. The hikes vary in difficulty, so there's something for nearly everyone.
Things to know:
- many of the hikes are in full sun for the day, so plan on sunscreen and water, especially if you are going during warm/ hot times of year.
- the Visitor Center has a water bottle refill station outside at the front, so it is easy to get to
- Parking can get difficult as the park gets more crowded (this is a pretty quiet national park, especially when compared to Zions and Bryce). Try to get some hikes in early and later (which is better for the heat as well)
- the dirt is loose and light, so it kicks up with every step. You will be dirty almost immediately. Wear socks with closed toe shoes rather than hiking sandals to keep your feet from getting really gross.

An unrated national park. Beautiful picnic area and hikes. The Sulfur Creek hike was similar to the narrows hike at Zion but much shallower. Walking upstream, the first waterfall is difficult to climb up if you’re not agile. Recommend starting the hike from upstream. Going down the waterfalls is much easier. Hiked a little more than 1/3 of the creek, which took about 2 hours, we only saw 6 other hikers. It was shocking how uncrowded this park was compared to Zion.

Good interesting visitor centre, but the best deal here is the ranger program. Especially the evening program we attended about creatures of the night was fabulous. This was hosted by Ranger Jeff, who is an example of how rangers should be, enthusiastic, informative friendly and knowledgeable. A true example. He even ended the session with a theme matching song just fabulous.

A kid's paradise with grassy areas and hills near the campsites (at least on the B Loop). Most of the hikes had elements for kid's to climb on and hide in. Go early to get your pies and cinnamon rolls at the Gifford House; we got some the 3rd day but all three days we were there they sold out by 1 PM.

This is the most underrated park. There’s so much to do in this national park but for some reasons it’s not as much explored. There’s a hike between the canyons when you do the tanks. The Hickman bridge and Casidy Arch are such good hikes. The scenic drive is so worth it. The visitors center has free wifi too. There are some petroglyphs in the wall too and very old school that you could see. There’s a ranch and Gifford Home museum which was amusing inside the park. The park has so much to offer. It’s not leas than Zion.

The road construction on UT - 64 made getting to and from the park a little tedious but once at the park it is worth the road time.
The visitors center is small but the Rangers are very helpful with the do's and don'ts at the park. Safety of visitors is a priority.
There are lots of up and down trails so suggest good hiking shoes and maybe a walking stick. (one fellow had flip/flops, he did not do well) The scenery is spectacular. We spent two and a half days and could have spent one more day nosing around the trails. The weather can be a little iffy so check with the Rangers on what trails are open. over a beautiful view of nature.
I only hope it can be preserved for future generations!

Great little visitor's center to stop to get some memorabilia and take a break from hiking. They have a little section talking about the history and geology of the park that's pretty interesting. The bathrooms are not 24/7, so be sure to get your dumps in before they close. You can refill on water out front as well.

Very friendly and helpful rangers here. They were the most enthusiastic out of all the national parks in Utah! They really have a passion for this park.
Here you can buy souvenirs, see a movie about the area and walk through a small museum where you can learn about the area and how it came to be.

Capitol Reef National Park is a true gem. The Visitor Center itself is staffed by knowledgeable and social folks who are happy to answer any questions about the area you may have. Information about hikes or a scenic drive can be found in the Visitor Center. So if you need a break before or after a day at Capitol Reef, be sure and stop into the visitor center for a look around and a quick break.

Beautiful and very informative.
The place was large and had so many options for you to look at and buy. I was very impressed with the things they had to offer.
However I wish I would have researched capital reef better because I had no idea how different it is than the other parks in Utah.
It felt like we drove around the park rather than through it. Many washouts and rough roads that seemed to go forever.
If I had a 4x4 I think I would have been in heaven.
The HwY next to the park was more spectacular and also has petroglyphs and I got to pet some horses.
Also they close very early. The place was packed with people and they still closed on time kicking out quite literally 100’s of people. It’s a government job so they can’t bend things but they should stay open a tad more!
The t shirt selection was slim compared to the information area. And I felt they didn’t have the latest designs compared to Arches and Zion but it is a much different park and less visitors I suppose

We really enjoyed Capitol Reef! Especially the petroglyphs and the hike up to Hickman's Bridge. We visited during the week in early March and realized we were gambling with the weather but in the end it was perfect!

Loved this National Park! We started at the visitor center, then went to the Grand Wash and jumped out of our car to explore the boulders and the old mines.
Then we headed over to Hickman's Bridge and enjoyed a wonderful hike up. There were very few purple on the trail, and the weather ended up being really pleasant despite the 39° forecast!
The fall colors made this trip so special. We headed back to the visitor center and watched the very informative 15-minute movie about the park's history, then our girls got their Jr Ranger badges, and we are on to the next park.

Brilliant! Really useful information including a video showing the formation of the continents over millions of years and a good 18 minute film about the way that water has shaped the landscape.
A superior collection of souvenirs including a range of jigsaws, books, mugs and badges - not to mention Utah-specific Yahtzee!
Everyone we spoke to was very welcoming and the toilets were immaculate.

Always the perfect way to start your adventure into Capital Reef.
The rangers are always helpful to help plan your day. Whether you are here for an hour or for days. They will not steer you wrong!
The bookstore is also located here where you can get your passport stamped and pick up a few souvenirs.
The entrance fee is on the honor system!

Love Capitol Reef NP. Visitor center is small but packed with information. Rangers super knowledgeable. Interesting history. Some historical buildings to visit in the park. Scenic drive is a must. Try to stop at all the overlooks. Wide range of trails from easy to strenuous. Even worse in the heat of the day. Over 90F every day we were there. Great rock formations. Hope you have time to hike the Capitol Gorge Trail. Be sure to get excellent fresh pie at Gifford Farm House. And they have ice cream cups! Loads of petroglyphs.
