Tanger Outlets Deer Park
Outlet mall
Shopping
Shopping-mall chain featuring a variety of brand-name & designer outlet stores.
No matter which Tanger Outlet we visit, the customer service is always the same exceptional service one expects! If you haven’t joined the Tanger Club, I highly recommend it for a VIP experience which includes designated VIP parking (one of my faves). On this visit, Laurie with Shopper Services and Gabbie at Express made the experience one to write about. You can always tell when a people love what they do. These two ladies were absolutely amazing!! Tanger Outlet Deer Park is minutes from the Olympic Diner where we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast before our outlet therapy. The location was great, the service was exceptional, the parking was plentiful and the prices were just right. By the way, this was the first Tanger Outlet with a visible security officer who was ready, willing and able to assist with store locations. This was definitely an awesome shopping experience🤩

Nice outlets with lots to shop or enjoy a quiet stroll window shopping! We went during a weekday and it was not crowded at all. Some shops had really good deals, others not so much. The restrooms were spot clean and the amenities easy to use.The map booth was pretty confusing though! The food kiosks and restaurants were all pretty much great and we enjoyed lunch at Nathan's and snacks from Auntie Anne's! Got a few steals for my babies at Carter's too.Ample parking space and nearest from where I live.Overall very happy with my visit to Tanger Outlets, gave a feel of the ones I visited in Texas!!

I’ve been there so many times. Actually i love shopping here. If you love shopping then you will absolutely LOVE this place. There are so many different types of stores with great prices here and there’s something for everyone. You can shop for any type of clothes, sneakers, groceries, and home supplies while you’re here. There is also a great selection of places to get lunch from like Auntie Anne’s, Nathan’s, and Starbucks. If you’re looking for something more restaurant style there is a great Red Lobster near by. This place is good for all ages and I highly recommend going here.

Great Outlet Mall. A couple of days back, I wrote about another outlet mall, where I found no discounts - definitely not the case here. Many discounts, great service from customer service. It’s an outlet mall, but it’s not so huge that it will tire you. Many public areas are shaded. The mall is comparatively new, well manicured gardens and seating areas. Get the Tangers Club Membership as soon as you arrive, it is pay you back in multiples as you shop - not to mention the nice Tote bags you get.

Outlet stores were great, but the only one that shouldn’t be there is @Adidas with its terrible service. Only two guys at the store 3/12/24 some where around 3 pm and any of the two employees really wanted to help me out with the price; one send me to the other and the other one never comeback with the sweatpants. Their actitud was so obvious. I ended up at Nike’s and service was great as well as other stores I visited.

It is awesome outlet Mall where most of the good brands have stores. The Staff of the Mall are quite friendly. They direct you to the stores that you want to go to shop.

One of the best looking outlets in the tri-state area. All the stores are here and many fun activities to do. Great place to bring the family and shop.

Wide avenues to walk, tasteful decor and great store variety. I popped in here to do some early Christmas shopping and walked away with some amazing deals! Big name stores are the staple, but unique small shops with great offerings are common as well.

The mall has a lot of great shopping options with a disney type of vibe . There is a theater, a centrally located plaza that used to converts to a circular ice rink in the winter. The shops are primarily clothing and footwear, with a sprinkle of food options near the theater. Very safe with plenty of shoppers that are strolling to their respective spots without any drama. Recommended more for spring, summer and fall as it is outdoors with limited shelter from the cold, rainy days or cold wind.

Very good open air shopping outlet with a variety of retail stores, dining options (sometimes with some great food trucks located at entrances), and a movie theater. A very quiet and calm shopping experience. Adequate parking available.

This is one of my favorite outlets, always a nice shopping experience!Parking can be a bit tricky to position yourself close to the store you're going to so don't worry it happens to everyone. But it rarely seems to be too overcrowded. It's completely outdoors with a lot of food options( including all our favorites like Miller's Ale House, Red Lobster, Aunt Annie's, Nathan's, etc) and check out for random food trucks too! Plenty of restrooms throughout. There's a great selection of stores for people of all ages...coach, tommy hilfiger, movado, crocs, michael kors, gap ,ugg, salt life coming, and so more( see pic).

This mall is smaller than the Tanger Outlet Mall in Riverhead, but it is much closer to New York City, and it is not as crowded. There is plenty of parking available.
There is a wide range of brand name stores to choose from. It even has an outdoor ice skating rink, but it only opens in the winter.
Robert Moses State Park is a picturesque ocean beach that offers various amenities such as picnic areas, playgrounds, and pitch-&-putt golf. It provides access to Fire Island Lighthouse, which has a small museum and gift shop for visitors. The highlight of the park is the breathtaking view from the top of the 182 spiral iron steps of the lighthouse, which stands at 168 feet high.
Fabulous beach any time of year, especially on New Year's Day. The sand is wonderfully fine and the ocean is gorgeous. There is a boardwalk at Field 5 for a pleasant walk to the Fire Island Lighthouse which has a small museum and gift shop. The 168 foot climb up the 182 spiral iron steps leads to a breathtaking view from the top of the lighthouse! The Fresnel Lens Building adjacent to the lighthouse contains a two-story first order fresnel lens!! Dont forget to take the short boardwalk to the inlet-side and relax on the bench or beach. Walk further east through the quaint communities of Fire Island and back along the ocean to the parking field.

Spent an Amazing Sunday at the beach. Was bit crowded but there were spots to settle comfortably. Beautiful beach for spending hours in the water, safe for families and kids can learn to surf. Very attentive lifeguards. Clean showers and changing rooms. Drinks, food and ice cream available.Overall very happy with the beach, location condition and facilities. Cleaning staff is working hard to keep the place clean and I request everyone to help them as much as you can by putting your garbage in the places provided.

Robert Moses State Park on Long Island is a beloved oceanfront destination that draws nearly 3.8 million visitors each year to its nearly five miles of pristine beaches. As the westernmost point of Fire Island, the park is easily accessible by car or public transport and offers a variety of recreational activities. Visitors can swim, surf, and fish at any of the four lifeguard-staffed fields, each equipped with amenities like concessions, beach shops, and outdoor showers. The park also features scenic picnic areas, an 18-hole Pitch & Putt Golf Course, and expansive volleyball courts. For those looking to explore further, Field 5 provides a gateway to Fire Island with a nature walk leading to the Fire Island Lighthouse and nearby towns. With its stunning shoreline and array of facilities, Robert Moses State Park is a perfect blend of natural beauty and leisurely fun.

I loved the beach at Robert Moses State park! Visiting the area of Long Island it is a must see experience. It's a $10 fee to park no matter how many in the car. This is how the state parks charge in lieu of beach tags per person like the Jersey Shore. There are rest stop buildings for changing, bathrooms, and snacks at any field you park. Beautiful, clean beaches, and everyone is spread out. Lifeguards are absolutely amazing. They saved people three separate times today & everyone was clapping for them. Their jobs are no joke! Thankful for them. Take a ride for a wonderful experience.

Beautiful beach and clear water. Even the bridges and lighthouse looks really good to get to that place. My family loved this beach and will be visiting every year. Lot of lifeguards around the water. Again Absolutely gorgeous beach. Parking $10

Great beach with plenty of space for all.
You can either be up close to the waves or hang back by the dunes and enjoy the best beach on Long Island. They have facilities, and up at the concession, you can grab a cold drink!

The Ocean was simply breathtaking! It was drizzling outside so we had it to ourselves! I was born close to this ocean so it's definitely one of my favorite places! These are pictures from Field 2! There is no charge in the winter months, so a great time to have a personal private experience!

First of all, the drive to this place is awesome! You have to cross many bridges and the route is very scenic. We paid $10 for the parking (Field 5) and there is ample space even during weekends.
There is a boardwalk from the main beach to the Fire Island lighthouse. The lighthouse closes by 3:30pm but the views outside are really beautiful too. The beach opposite the lighthouse is less crowded but equally good and has great waves.
There is an amazing restaurant at this beach that serves drinks, food and ice cream, with several options to choose from. Restrooms and shower areas are right beside this restaurant.
There is also a paid pedi cab service, located at the parking lot to take you to Kismet. It is not very easy to cycle near this beach as cycles aren't allowed on the boardwalk and the other paths are too gravelly.
Overall, we loved this beach! It is perfect for a relaxing afternoon on a hot summer day.

A very serene and tranquil beach. It’s very clean, not as crowded as other Long Island beaches. There is ample parking with clean restrooms and concession stands. Great for walks or just spend the day in water or sunbathing. You can walk all the way to the Light House at Fire Island and beyond walking on this beach. We love walking here.

We always have a great time and it’s one our favorite LI state park/beaches. We went to Democratic Point. Be aware that at times there are a lot of flies and they will bite. Unfortunately this day we took the RV & we had to leave due the large amount of flies biting us.
Gypsy Traveler — Google review
It's just so calming and serene. Fishing or on the beach with my family. It's clean which is most important and there's nothing like open ocean as opposed to the sound

One of the cleanest beaches in the United States. I have visited so many beaches in the United States, but didn’t find that many clean beaches except Virginia Beach, and this particular beach. Due to Canadian wildfire we got less people over there and we enjoyed the beach very early in the morning. We collect some dead shell as a token. overall kids enjoyed it a lot.

Robert Moses field 4 is our favorite field. The beach is clean, beautiful, has accommodations and plenty of awesome lifeguards watching over! It is definitely the Field to check out! Whether you swim, sunbathe or just read a book, you will enjoy your day at the beach. Long islands very own gem!
The Fire Island Lighthouse, constructed in 1858, is a historical landmark with an accompanying keeper's house and scenic nature trails. It is the tallest among more than twenty lighthouses on Long Island and offers breathtaking views of the ocean, bay, and barrier beach. The site features an information center/museum that is worth visiting during operational hours.
My favorite place to visit when I'm home for the holidays. Beautiful walk out from the beach parking lot. Great boardwalk making it really accessible. The info center/museum is worth the stop if you're around during its operational hours. And do pay to go up to the top of the Iighthouse - it always provides a beautiful view, regardless of the weather.

I came here on a weekend day late in April, right before the summer season kicked off. We parked at Robert Moses Field 5 and walked over to the lighthouse. The weather was nice and the sky was clear (highly recommended visiting on a day like this!)
The staff at the lighthouse are knowledgeable and friendly. There’s a little museum at the base you can walk around to learn about the history of the area and the building’s former uses. There’s also a newer building right next store that has some of the older lanterns/lights used at the lighthouse before the current one.
To get to the top of the lighthouse you must first buy a ticket ($10/adult). It is then a 5-10 minute walk to the top along a winding staircase. Once you reach the top a staff member will let you know when it’s clear to go out onto the observation deck. The views are breathtaking! It was such a clear day, you could see the vast horizon of the Atlantic to the south, Fire Island stretching to the east, and, if you could believe it, the skyline of NYC on the horizon to the west (~50 miles, zoomed in it can be seen on my posted pictures). This is a beautiful place and a perfect spot to visit if you’re in the area or as the main attraction of a day trip!

What a neat place to visit. Nice walk along boardwalk through sand dunes up to the lighthouse. Small gift shop. Multiple areas to look at in the museum. Paid to go up to the top of the lighthouse. What a view!!! There was a worker, Angela, who spoke with us up at the top and told us all about the light house and the geography of the surrounding area. Every worker was friendly and informative. If you are in town go visit this lighthouse!!!
Renee Gillen — Google review
One of my favorite attractions and areas on Long Island/Fire Island. Easily accessible from Robert Moses State Park, Field 5 via the beach or the pedestrian walkway. One can visit the Lighthouse itself, or just enjoy it from the outside. The Lighthouse offers tours with a climb to the top, but it’s not necessary to enjoy the lighthouse or the area. It’s extremely picturesque, and a beautiful historic landmark throughout the year.

We love going here super early in the morning every so often to watch the sunrise on the beach. We've been doing it for years. Really a life-changing experience and so breathtaking every time. The boardwalk through the dunes is so pretty and well maintained. Hesitated to write a review because I'd like to keep this place private. It's always so peaceful when we go, but there are usually a few others who have the same idea as us. As long as it stays that way I'll be happy! They do tours of the lighthouse at more normal hours of the day in season.

0.7 mile walk from the parking lot, on a boardwalk surrounded by tall plants and very friendly deer. I went on an extremely windy day with a little chill in the air. Was not crowded. $10 to climb. Guide was very knowledgeable. Steps were wide and felt safe. Wonderful views. Short walk to the beach. 💙

This place is magical! We walked to the farthest part of the beach and the trail that took us to the charter was beautiful! Everything was so clean and well signposted and it was quiet. The museum is very interesting too. ❤️🌈

Very nice landmark to go visit . Volunteers manning The lighthouse are very nice and helpful. Amazing views from the top 360 degrees around the lighthouse. My kids had a fun time climbing the stairs to the top and got a certificate when they came back down.

This is a national park on a small stretch of the Long Island sound. It is very tranquil here. Great for walks both on the boardwalk and on the beach. There is a little museum and store with clean restrooms that you can visit and learn about the history of the lighthouse and it’s functioning. Presently I don’t believe you can go to the top as there seems to be some restoration work happening.

Beautiful scenic walk to the lighthouse from field 5. And just $10 to climb to the top. Be prepared to climb a lot of stairs and a couple ladders at the last 2 top levels. Totally worth the walk up with gorgeous views of Long Island from the top, even saw a couple of whales. Will definitely come back next summer!

Great for children. Took 6 year old members of the family here to enjoy a day of sightseeing and see a real lighthouse for the first time. Great extensive walking experience. Took pictures together, walking on the way there and back. The view of the lighthouse with the moon in broad daylight was breathtaking. We were unable to go up to the lighthouse as they close the lighthouse tour by 3:30p, but we were able to enjoy the second floor are and first floor museum. The store had nice souvenirs. We bought little plush toys for the children, and then we topped this experience off with a nice dinner restaurant for the adults (little ones loved it too). They loved everything about this trip and went right to sleep once we got home. We are sold and would do this again.

Even better than I'd remembered as a child. It's been 15+ years since I've been here, and the experience and staff are as great as ever. Entry was free, and to go up the lighthouse is a donation of $10. The views from atop the lighthouse are well worth the meager donation they ask for, and- well worth the climb.
Note: Masks are still required at this location, and are strictly enforced, even in August 2022. They can be purchased at the entrance if needed for $0.50/each.

This is a great park for all. Excellent for a hike, a bike, or a swim. Not always that busy either. You can go up into the lighthouse for a fee and will usually see wild deer. Great boardwalk for your convenience all the way out to the lighthouse and other attractions.

The lighthouse is beautiful, There is a lens viewing edition with a delightful docent who loves telling you everything about them, he even has his Bichon to help. In the original lighthouse building there is a lovely gift shop and lots of wonderful things to read about the lighthouses of Long Island. The tower is currently under construction so you cannot go in. If you continue on to the boardwalk behind the tower it will lead you to a boathouse where you can learn more about the early rescues.

Nice to visit a beautiful part of American history.
The staff are very knowledgeable of the history of the lighthouse and welcoming to the centre.
The walk to the light house was full of wildlife, and we were very lucky to see a deer.
Great visitor location for history buffs, bird watchers, and keen wildlife enthusiasts.

Truly amazing, the surroundings, the view... Manhattan skyline visible from 65-70 km distance and the 50 m elevation of Fire Island Lighthouse (at least the >130 m part of the skyline)

Iconic and historic lighthouse on Fire Island. Parking is available at Field 5 and the lighthouse can be accessed by a ~3/4 mile walk on a boardwalk through the brush.
There is a small museum located beneath the lighthouse that describes its history and more. The top of the lighthouse can be accessed by a small fee. There are restrooms available inside the museum.
A nearby path can be used to access the beach!
Kevin Michalski — Google review
Beautiful view from the top. Afterwards you can walk to the restaurants and bars in town or walk to the beach. The place is so much better if you bring your bike because you can visit all the little towns there, just be warned that all the restaurant as closed once the summer season is over. If you go in the off season, you can pack a lunch, there are tons of beautiful places to have a picnic. The wild life is beautiful as well. When you walk the trails there are migrating birds and deer all over. Great place to spend the day with the family. Park at Robert Moses field 5 and take the trail to the light house or you can also take the fire island ferry

What an amazing experience. If you are from the South Shore of Lind Island this is a must. Tourists visiting the area should make sure this is on their list. Amazing one of a kind views from a spot we are all familiar with. The staff was informed and extremely friendly and professional. The light was turned off the year I was born and I believe turned back on in the mid eighties at some point. The old dark spooky lighthouse was saved by the work of some locals and looks much better with the lights on.

Avalon Nature Preserve is a natural conservation area that was established in 1997 by The Paul Simons Foundation. It comprises of 216 acres of land, encompassing fields, forests, and wetlands. In 2001, 140 acres of the preserve became available for public access. Within the park are five diverse habitats that support abundant native flora and fauna species.
Avalon Park is a great spot for an easy hike/walk in the woods you can do anything in the park.🙃👅😋I was thoroughly impressed that there's a great (and free!) park like this hidden on Long Island. The website directed us to park our car on the street, and we luckily found a spot right away. The boardwalk entrance is currently closed for construction so we just followed a line of people walking towards Rhododendron Drive, and eventually found the entrance to the red trail. This did involve a bit of walking on a trafficked road, so just be careful and look out for cars. The section that we walked around was more forest than park. We mostly stayed on the yellow trail, which was doable for my parents who are not the most exercise-inclined people. There were some gentle slopes and stairs here and there, but overall easy enough for me to walk in sandals (which I definitely do not recommend - my feet kicked up a ton of dirt). It was surprisingly quite secluded for most of our hour-long walk, although many of the people we did see were not wearing masks. I'd love to come back here once the boardwalk construction is done, and in the fall for the foliage.

A beautiful, spacious nature preserve with a old water mill that you can tour. Buying a pound of duck feed and sitting by the pond while feeding all the geese and ducks is by far my favourite thing to do. Many people bring their dogs and there's lots of trails with different sights to see. Definitely a good idea for a relaxing Sunday stroll.

Beautiful park. When my "baby dog" was alive he LOVED this place, you never saw a dog more excited to take a stroll through the woods as this little guy was. The sights and sounds area tranquil. It's a quiet park even on the weekends. Most people stay by the duck pond feeding the ducks so the trails are very quiet. The park is large enough to find a quiet space to picnic or to just stroll on your own. Keep in mind there are NO public bathrooms here.

A cute little park in the Stony Brook with boardwalk, ponds interesting sculptures and a well marked trails. The park has two parts – a smaller section near the Stony brook down town is essentially a regular garden with paved trails, flower beds, sculptures, cascades and ponds. Very pretty and children-friendly, but, alas was very overcrowded on Saturday. The second section is bigger, with well-marked, dirt-packed trails that goes through meadows and old very open forest. Easy walk and less crowded. The park is pet-friendly. We have seen many people with dogs

Wonderful experience. We have drove by a couple of times and wasn't sure why there were so many people there at what I assumed was just a pond, but after our trip to the LI Museum we stopped by and glad we did. The preserve was beautiful and we hiked the trails and took in all the beauty and wildlife. We met a ranger there who took the time to explain the history and acreage of the preserve and gave us the tip of the secondary parking lot which we'll be sure to utilize next time to avoid the parking issues at front when it's crowded. There was also a local musician who played and sang while we enjoyed our stroll and watched the geese and ducks. Will definitely by coming back more often.

Avalon Park & Preserve is magical! I am visiting the area for 9/11, so stress levels are high. This was the perfect place to go in Stony Brook, New York to rejuvenate and be at one with nature. The thoughtfulness and design of the preserve made me feel so peaceful and happy.
Parking is easy and free, and entrance is also no charge, so it is accessible to everyone. The trails are well marked and maintained. There is signage warning of ticks, and we stayed on the main trails where we enjoyed almost 4 miles of hiking including a little extra going to the farm stand at Birdsfoot Farm that is owned by Avalon. The place feels safe as there are cameras and nowhere is so remote that you are completely on your own. There was at least one water fountain there, and it included a bowl for pets. We saw several sweet dogs along the trail, as well as kind humans including some friendly park people who do such a beautiful job making sure the park is safe and well-maintained. It was not at all crowded, and the park is spacious. We also saw a beautiful young deer who seemed to know that we meant no harm, so she just stood there and looked at us as we looked at her. It was a very special moment!
Some of my favorite elements of the park were the Cartas al Cielo sphere and the Labyrinth. At the Cartas al Cielo, there are postcards where you can write something to those who have passed. The sign says, "Visitors are encouraged to send messages beyond our earthly realm, mailing them through this poetic vessel." At the Labyrinth, there is a beautiful tribute to Paul Simons, dedicating the park and preserve to his memory, and a spectacular sculpture by Jod Laurie.
Every part of the preserve was wonderful. There is a duck pond and a frog pond near the entrance, a hilltop meadow at the top, and lots of cool things in between. There are no restrooms at the preserve, no picnic areas, and no trash cans. Everything is carry in and carry out. Their motto is Protect, Restore, Inspire...and that is absolutely perfect! I highly recommend this lovely sanctuary.

We had a wonderful time walking through Avalon Nature Preserve! We took some nice pictures and saw lots of wildlife. We brought some food and drinks in with us but also brought our own garbage bag to bring our garbage out with us. They do not have garbages there to try and keep the area clean of garbage piling up. They don't encourage food so if you bring anything in please take it with you to keep it clean for others. It's such a beautiful place and we look forward to visiting again! 💗

Excellent place to visit. No entry fee and lots of parking space by the road. Nice lake with a very clean shore where you can sit back and watch the swimming birds. The track runs just by the lake - very easy walk upwards. Stop by the frog pond and enjoy the calm. One short walk from there leads to the Prometheus sculpture. Follow any of the trails from there and enjoy nature as long as wish. I’ll go back many times.
The Bridgeport & Port Jefferson Steamboat Company offers a convenient ferry service between Connecticut and the North Shore of Long Island. The hour-and-15-minute ride provides a pleasant experience with good boat and crew. While the interior could use some improvement, there are various food options and a nice bar on board. The ferry also boasts beautiful views, ample walking space, and decent bathrooms. However, some passengers advise against eating the food due to quality concerns.
Always on time and crew is very polite friendly and knowledgeable. Enjoy my commute to work every day. Bathrooms always clean. Totally enjoyable and relaxing.

Nice to ride in the summertime. Some of the other reviews by frequent ferry goers have a good perspective. I don’t always have the best experience on the ferry, and some of the evening staff are rude. But, for better or worse that hasn’t stopped me from using it. Sunset and sunrise rides are especially enjoyable.

Agree with other comments that says - ferry is ferry. It’s convenient, but expensive. Food selection is not great and expensive, but there is food. Everything fast and really well organized. Expensive though. Nice views.
I don’t think it’s always a most convenient option, but if it is - very enjoyable activity.

Had a beautiful, sunny day for a ride across the sound. $33.00 for round-trip. Not a bad price, at all. Also, when you park in their lot, they have a shuttle that takes you to the boat and will take you back to the car when you come back - free of charge. We only went about a block & a half, but we did tip. It is, after all, a free service and everyone is working for a living.

If you want to save time getting from long island to CT. The Bridgeport ferry can't be beat. Easy, efficient loading. Drive right on with your vehicle or walk on. The ferry has been running for many years. The 12 or so miles over the water can cut hours of your drive to CT. VT. Maine, etc.

Without a doubt the worst ferry experience I have ever had. First of all the ferry was 45 minutes late. No announcement. No explanation and certainly no apology.
Then they let all the foot traffic on first. By the time you get on the boat all of the booths are gone. In some cases one person and their stuff taking up 6 seats. People lying down. Staff does nothing.
Also we told the staff we didn't want to park on the ramp because we had a small child and there were plenty of spots straight ahead. Of course that was ignored as well.
With no free wifi on the ferry it was a miserable time crossing. The next time the Orient Point ferry is not available we will just drive around. The bridges and I-95 are preferable to this garbage.

We went on the 730 ferry and had breakfast. It was very clean, the staff were very nice.. Then we got back on the 2 o'clock Ferry had some lunch and drinks, also great

It’s a ferry. Convenient but pricey. Food is ok but expensive. Staff is friendly. Love the ride across the sound and grateful to not have to drive through the city!

Great alternative to driving back and forth to Long Island. The ferry provides a relaxing one hour ride across the sound. It has a cocktail bar, food and snacks.

We didn't want to drive to get to CT, so we took the ferry. Very easy on and off. It's an hour ride versus 2.5 driving.

Good, we always board the ferry every year. But on the summer of 2022, 07/19, the was a heat wave in some of the eastern states. The ferries we boarded were P.T.Barnum and Grand Republic. The ride to CT was okay, the usual. But on the way back to LI, we were drenched in sweat. The only shady spot was at the back of the ferry. And due to the Grand Republic having a broken elevator, it was neutral. Today the Grand Republic's elevator works again to make experiences a bit better. Good company service and ferries not that worn out. But the bad thing is, one vehicle ticket to board the ferry for us cost $100 for one experience. This review was from July 2022 but posted January 2023.

Sheryl in your customer service reservations department is beyond amazing. I am going through chemo and completely forgot to buy my ferry ticket in advance to get to my daughter’s graduation. Online wouldn’t let me order so close to departure but I called and she let me know to keep driving because there was room on the ferry. She was my calm during what felt like a huge storm for me that day. Thank you Sheryl.

Good boat and crew. Always do their best to get you on even when you're on standby. Interior of the ship could use a little work (patron areas), but enough hot/cold food options to hold you over for the hour trip. Also has a nice little bar on the ship if you want to grab a drink while traveling. Prices have gone up over the years, but we attribute that to gas prices and inflation, not the boat company - what can you do.

Friendly staff, I was confused about how to get in the line with my car but the guy that helped me was very kind. Beautiful trip, clean, inside had great ac. They price based off occupancy(and probably car size)

Great way to avoid bridge traffic to points north, scenic, peaceful 1.25 hour ride. During business seasons best to reserve on line, only complaint is that they are a bit pricey

If you live at the end of Long Island, it's a great idea to get to Connecticut quickly. But if you are not, it's not a great idea to take the ferry just for tourist purposes, especially without a car.
They have a cafe but food needs to be better

Great ride there and back. It was nice to take a break from traffic. They were punctual which was nice. It is best to order your tickets online prior. The bathrooms were clean, too! Will use them again!

We had a great trip in both directions. Great crew who enjoyed explaining different things on the ship to my younger cousin. Will definitely do this again

Love the beautiful view. Plenty of space to walk around. The bathrooms are good. My only complaint is that the oil they use to fry things is not changed frequently. I got sick just eating one of their fries. Foods are overcharged and mediocre at best. Well I guess they have to make money somehow. I highly recommend that you don't eat food from there if you have a sensitive stomach.
Walnut Beach is a charming and picturesque destination located in Milford, Connecticut. This beautiful beach offers soft golden sand, gentle waves, and stunning views of the Long Island Sound. Visitors can enjoy various water activities such as swimming, sunbathing, and beachcombing. The surrounding area features lovely picnic spots, walking trails, and playgrounds for families to relax and have fun. With its tranquil atmosphere and natural beauty, Walnut Beach is a perfect getaway for those seeking relaxation by the water.
Silver Sands State Park, located on Long Island Sound, is a haven for wildlife and offers opportunities for fishing, swimming, and strolling along the boardwalk. The beach is pristine and ideal for a day out with friends or family. It is recommended to bring sunscreen as there are no shaded areas in the vicinity. During low tide, visitors can walk along a sandbar path to reach an island inhabited by beautiful birds.
I'm not usually a big fan of beaches but this one is really dynamic and diverse. There are boardwalks over marshes, a sandspit to an island with beautiful birds on it that you can reach at low tide, and shell covered beaches. Even on a foggy day, it was beautiful and fascinating.

What an awesome park. This was and unexpected place that I got to check out because I was staying in an Airbnb nearby here the boardwalk is awesome you could walk for an hour and put in area takes you into a nature preserve. It really reminded me of my time in Florida except here there's no alligators or snakes or snapping turtles. If I came back to this area to stay I would definitely come back to this park because it's a cool Little Gym and who would have thought that Connecticut had such an amazing water view by the ocean. Not this California Guy for sure
Alex Cuevas — Google review
I haven't been to Silver Sands in quite a few years, so I was pleased with all the updates that have been made with the boardwalk. I have to say the parking for handicap accessibility is still a very small area.... which is a bummer. I wish the beach wasn't as covered in broken shells/rocks. That being said, it is a beach, it's kind of hard to avoid without the town having to rake it every single day. If you're looking for a beach that is all smooth sand, this isn't the beach for you. Other than the handicap parking and the shells/rocks being hard to walk on with bare feet, I had a great day with my sister and niece's. I'll definitely be going back soon. I would like to add that they do have lifeguard on duty and that they are very strict about bringing any of those wave boards or even balls into the water. It's to keep the public safe so I understand but figured I'd give anyone a heads-up so you're not lugging something to the beach you and or the kids can't even play with if it's your intention to play with it in the water. Also, I did see signs posted that dogs aren't permitted to go on the beach.

Silver sands is one of my favorite beaches. It has beautiful sandy spaces, is maintained well, bathrooms are clean and spacious, and you can't go wrong with the ample parking. Even on cloudy days, this is a great place to visit, especially if you like hermit crabs and birds

One of the best state parks in CT.
Plenty aria for the parking.
Boardwalk is very clean with butiful views and if you wizyt the place when is low tide you can walk on send bar all the way to the Island.

This is an amazing park! Wildlife in the marshes, a natural beach (not a place for a “pure beach experience “ but definitely adequate), a sandbar that appears at low tide to connect to an island, good snack shack, nice boardwalks through the marsh.
Anna Livingston Adams — Google review
Love this place! So serene. Its different everytime I frequent depending exactly where the tide is and what's growing.
Rachel Kenigsberg — Google review
Amazing beach. So clean, so beautiful!! Make sure you bring sunscreen and shade if you burn easy as there is no shade anywhere on the beach. Low tide exposes a sand bar path to the island. If you need a beach day you need to go here. Super easy to get to from I95 just follow the signs

I seriously couldn't believe I was in CT, let alone Milford. This place is gorgeous. Walking the boardwalk is like walking through a postcard.
The actual beach has beautifully updated bathrooms, changing rooms, food available for sale, and full outdoor seating/benches etc.
Lifeguards looked alert as well

I’ve traveled here many times and it’s always beautiful and well-kept! The park has a wonderful boardwalk that is great for getting a lot of exercise. The views of the ocean and marsh are very photogenic while you are walking. My favorite landmark is the large exotic-looking tree growing out of the jetty (the one in my photo).

This is my favorite place to snorkel, the water is relatively calm and you are able to walk out pretty far during low tide.
Cost for out of state residents is $22
Ample parking
Rest rooms and porta pottys
Food is available and the fries are pretty good.
There is a boardwalk that gives access to another beach next to silver sands as well, very easy to walk on
I love it here!

This was the best beach I visited in CT. Beautiful bridge walkways with restrooms, food, etc. Nice rock areas to spot wild sea life and also longgg white beaches! The south beach area has parking, pier, volleyball, and kayak rental to reach the island.
Yes, there is actually an island out from the beach that can be accessed certain times/month by foot in the shallows. We went during high tide but they have a posting with detailed info and time when this can be done!

We stopped here on our way home to Wisconsin from our road trip to Maine, it was amazing, clean, the bathrooms were closed unfortunately but it's cooler now so it was expected. The out houses could be much cleaner.... other than that it was so fun. Well be back 😀

Unique beach experience. Worth visiting if you're in the area. Clean changing and rest rooms. Long boardwalk if you want to walk but not get sandy.
The best part was the number of shells. Piles and piles of shells. Wear appropriate footwear!

Lots of parking available. Nice and clean beach..lots of parking available . The path to Charles island clears during low tides and it’s wonderfull to see. You walk on a path of pebbles and there is a lot of seashells that you will see as well. You can spend the whole day by this place.
Fire Island National Seashore is a stunning coastal national park that boasts an array of plant and animal life. Located on a long, thin barrier island between William Floyd Estate and Robert Moses State Park, it was established in 1964 to preserve the island's bird habitats, forests, and sand dunes from commercial development. Southern and northern access points lead visitors to the Fire Island Lighthouse and Smith Point Visitor Center respectively.
When I think of New York, I generally think of a bustling city with lots of activity and excitement. I would never think that just outside of Long Island I could find a beautiful, natural retreat. But that’s exactly what Fireside Island National Seashore offers, a retreat back to nature to regroup and reflect. In addition to the seashore and boardwalk, we enjoyed the Light Station, Lighthouse Tower, museum and the gift shop.
There are two buildings to explore, the Light Station and the Lighthouse Tower. The building that houses the Lighthouse Tower is also where you’ll find the the museum, restrooms and gift shop. (There is a cost to access the Tower, so please check the “Notable Mention” section of this post to see which discounts might apply to you and/or your group.)
The beachfront is gorgeous and so pristine. It was a welcomed surprise to see all the different shells and birds. We also enjoyed the boardwalk which allowed us to take in the scenery without disturbing the natural habitat. All in all, this area was a great unexpected find, and we certainly hope to return!
Notable Mentions:
The Lighthouse Tower offers the following discounts: Active military are free! Veterans and Seniors receive a reduced rate
Please Note: The tower is closed right now and will likely reopen in August 2023.

This is one of my favorite places ever... The 4x4 Beach is awesome pet friendly beautiful and for the most part quiet and private. It's been one of my favorite places to go since I'm 16 years old the regular Beach is really nice too and certain nights there are bands that play and everybody looks like they're having a good old time not really my cup of tea but looks like a good time . You can also camp in RVs or tents beautiful views can't you can't beat and tons of waterfront fun. Amazing sunrise and sunsets 💜💜💜

Absolutely beautiful and remote beach location. Most of the outdoor activities I've done here have involved wilderness camping or just spending the days here in peace and solitude. If you walk the seashore long enough, you'll get that vibe and it's a very memorable experience. Worth taking the ferry over to just to spend time the day or planning a longer trip in advance. Sunsets and sunrises by the beach here are amazing, always very lucky to see those views whenever I come.

Virtually untouched beaches, I went on a windy day in May and there was nobody. I even saw foxes on the sand dunes. The South Shore of Long Island has miles and miles of pristine sand, I think these beaches are among the best in the US.

Beautiful & remote location. Easy to get to private dock by boat. Davis Point 1 mile away. Water taxi 1/2 a mile away. Recommend sticking up on rations. Pack light, living in bathing suits & sunblock is the norm, sturdy sandals a must, cool at night & hot & humid during day.
Elizabeth Hipwell — Google review
Not the easiest beach to get to, as you need to coordinate a ferry and then walk through a very unique little "village". But the beach is wide and goes on for miles, with nice water and beautiful sand for a beach so far north. There are also some decent restaurants and shops in town. Will be back next summer for sure!
Chris Aldrich — Google review
There is a lot to love about this stretch of beach along the south shore of Long Island. Since most of the towns are seasonal there is not a lot of retail, some towns will even just have one shop that doubles as a grocery store/ sandwich shop.
Each town will also be served by a local ferry from a town on the mainland. There are “water taxis” which will take you from town to town but these services are catch-as-catch-can.
The island has some of the most exquisite beaches on the east coast. Deep soft white sand and tall grassy dunes make many sections feel truly wild. Thanks to conversation efforts the coast is again teeming with wildlife including dolphin, whales, sharks, rays and a host of other fish.
The Great South Bay sits on the north shore of Fire Island and is what separates it from the mainland. This body of water has also experienced a renaissance as the tides now cleans the water creating expansive clam beds.
If you can find an opportunity to spend time on the beaches here you will be thrilled.
Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History showcases exhibits and dioramas on evolution, natural environments, and human origins with a regional emphasis. The museum features an array of skeletons, fossils, well-preserved taxidermy, and dazzling gemstones along with some artifacts. It's an entertaining and informative destination for nature enthusiasts of all ages. The venue features wheelchair access via a ramp at the entrance as well as an elevator.
Wonderful place! Hands down! When I visited this museum the first thing that came to my mind was “the night at the museum” movie. The experience was so exhilarating and there are different sections in museum which makes it a complete tour of history, galaxy and earth. I would love to ho again. For students the entry fees was only 6 dollars.

Nice place for kids. A bit all over the place (what’s the point of the Egyptian part, so small it does not add value.) worth for the stones only (crazy quartz.) we all wait for the renovation: the dinosaur part looks so dusty. Good time and everybody is very friendly.

Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History has a variety of skeletons, fossils, well-preserved taxidermy and awe inspiring gemstones with a few artifacts here and there. It is loads of fun and educational for those that take an interest in nature. It is a great place to visit for children and adults alike. Make sure to give yourself at least 3 hours for soaking up the sights, taking photos and visiting the gift shop! There is a ramp at the entrance and also an elevator for those in wheelchairs. Thursdays between 2pm and 5pm is pay as you please, but I feel that the experience is definitely worth paying full admission for! :)

This museum is free, which makes it incredible. It is small with an eclectic collection. There is an accessible seating area for a rest between exhibits. I did not reserve tickets in advance. We visited the museum and received walk-in tickets. Walk-in tickets are not guaranteed but worth a try as the wait to reserve tickets is long.

I would like to start with few important things:
1. They have plenty of parking and it’s FREE even in downtown.
2. I went on Thursday and it’s open to public on that day. I’m not too sure if it’s free for rest of the days.
3. Friendly staff and museum is well-maintained.
4. Museum is spectacular! You can almost everything in the museum. Animals, Birds, Minerals, Human Species and many more.

This is very nice and very informative museum. It has 3 floors. Lobby or level 1 has dinosaurs and old scripts. Level 2 consists of animals and related to human evolution and level 3 is very beautiful and consists of rocks and minerals. Tells about meteorite, minerals etc. One must visit this museum when in new haven. For kids it is specially very much like activity based as there are people on these floors with creative ways to explain them about the artefacts.

This was my first time in the museum, it was truly something magical. The fossils were outstanding, although I only were in the first floor I can say that is exactly how I imagined the museum to be. The staff at the reception were very friendly, offered free stickers! They all complimented my Sailor Moon jacket , too! The gift shop wasn't opened because they aren't completely done renovating the location but will be opened later this month (April 2024), the experience is worth while. I only took a picture of the sidewalk, it was super cute! (YOU CAN SEE THEM IN THIS POSTING) I didn't take pictures of the exhibitions because I was lost learning.
A must see!

Took my family who was visiting from out of town on the first open weekend - although it felt like “soft opening” because the third floor and much of the second floor were empty- it was still a lot of fun for my 5 year old and even his grandparents!
I also appreciated the exhibit recognizing Yale’s racist past and connection to the eugenics movement.
Would note that they do not have a cafe or somewhere to get a bite- not sure if that’s to come.
Overall- bring your out of town guests! Also it’s free!!!

Barrier-island park with bay & ocean beaches offers camping facilities & a casual waterside eatery.
If you do not have a boat or time to take the Ferry this is the park to go to. I learned how to swim in the ocean here. Usually very strong rip currents. Swim by the Life Guard stands. I went the weekend before Memorial Day weekend. Free parking. After the Holiday parking is probably $18. (Nonresident)Worth it if you plan to spend the day. On the bay side there is a place to rent paddle boards and kayaks.

I was at Smith Point Beach on 3/18/2023 to fly my drone in the parking lot. The attached video and pics are from that day. In the summer time I love this beach, they’ve spent some money making improvements, adding a beach bar/restaurant, and you can also visit the TWA Flight 800 memorial which is there too. Highly recommend.

Beautiful beach with well-sized waves for having fun with the whole family. You can only swim in a restricted area but it was large enough when we were there (Mon-Tue-Wed, beg. of August). Fine sand, fresh and clean water, some food offers (lobster roll is recommended!). We came after 5:30 p.m. when parking is for free (18$ during daytime) to enjoy the evening sunlight.

The beach this year is quite smaller from what I remember in comparison to my previous trips. All in all, what's not to love- sandy shores, waves, and the ocean breeze to keep you feeling light and breezy! From the food at the consession stand, to the playground, and the trails that'll definitely get your 10,000 steps in, there's something to do for everyone!

How is it that I've been going to the beach on Long Island for nearly 6 full decades and I didn't know about this beach? It's beautiful!.. and easily accessible and best of all it's dog friendly.
Eric Schofield — Google review
This park has a very big parking lot. As soon as you enter the parking lot, you have a bunch of deer welcoming you in the anticipation of fruits. These white-tailed deer in this park are the most friendly that I have seen in the Long Island. They eat directly from people's hand and follow you like pet animals. They are not afraid, and they circle around your car for food. I have seen them eating carrots, baby tomatoes, and apples from the visitors. There are signs in the park indicating not to feed deer, and people are totally opposite. Bathrooms are not open during the offseason. I also saw off-roading outer beach access, but I didn't take a chance to drive to the beach. One tow truck waits by the entrance of the Burma road in case someone gets stuck on the beach. On the Burma road if you decide to drive to the beach with the permit then sign indicates tire pressure(10 to 20 PSI) recommended for the off-roading and when you come back, you can inflate your tire pressure back to recommended pressure. I would say this park needs a little bit of TLC to draw more satisfying visitors, and that can help the local community during the off-season and peak season. I wish beach access is available for AWD drive vehicles as well since not everyone has a 4x4 vehicle.
Note: Please don't leave food for deers in styrofoam cup. Today, one deer ended up with a styrofoam cup stuck on the face. Many people tried to help the deer but couldn't lured deer closer to take out cup from face. Deer was afraid and panicked and stopped trusting any human around her. I hope deer somehow managed to free from cup.
This park is the home of TWA Flight 800 Memorial to honor those who were aboard the plane - 230 people from 14 countries - all of them were killed. The families of TWA Flight 800 Association raised the funds for the memorial.

This place is the gem of Long Island. Where else can you have the bay and the ocean within moments of each other. There is a large and beautiful beach at the ocean. Across the parking lot there is a bay where lots of people are driving their boats and fishing. There is a wildlife/nature museum up in the observation tower that is currently closed. You can climb up to the observation tower and see beautiful scenery for miles. There are paths both paved and unpaved that lead you on a beautiful scenic walk.

My experience there is always good but I'm a person that does not like to be around many people so if you are like me the best times to go there are early morning during the week and weekends. I cannot tell you about their bands that play there I think I went one time and it was nice but like I said I don't like to be around a lot of people if you don't want to pay go after 6:00 p.m. during season time. One thing I could say this is the place to go for beautiful sunrises and sunsets. I always can grab my beach chair and find a secluded little area by myself which I'm very grateful that I can find.

Loved this beach! Doesn’t get too crowded like Robert Moses or Jones Beach. This might be because only Suffolk county residents are allowed. The place is neat and clean, not too rocky. Definitely worth the visit on a beautiful day! They do have a food place there but they a bit overpriced for the taste. The only thing I enjoyed was the ice cream which they only had a limited amount of flavors to choose from but it wasn’t too bad. Overall the beach is beautiful.

We get an invitation to a JacknJill to Stony Creek Brewery in Branford. I'm thinking.... what is so special about this location? I look at the map and it's less than an hour drive for us. We arrive, the building is stunning! Right on the river, views are spectacular, lots of boats and areas for all kinds of activities for everyone. The upstairs area where we were seats 150+ easily not including it's own private deck. The deck has a covered area and also an open area with high tops if you want to eat your food outside. Yes, perfect for large parties and weddings. Lower level/main level has lots going on inside and out. Amazing outside seating set onto sand for the beach effect. Kids loved it. They had TV"s as well. NHL finals were on so there was entire group cheering. The design is the best that fits every need. The bar for the party upstairs was perfect. Beer list was perfect. Wine selection was adequate. The host of the party brought cupcakes for dessert from their local bakery which was a nice added touch.

Shredded lettuce and carrots right out of a bag. Pre- cooked institutional chicken from a frozen bag too. Other food looked the same. Don't come hungry. Without the location/ambiance you wouldn't want to go here.
Splish Splash Water Park is a large and exciting water park that offers a variety of themed body and tube slides, including drop slides. The park also features wave pools, waterslides, and a separate area for younger children to enjoy. It's the perfect place to cool off on hot summer days. There are multiple snack options available within the park, so visitors can stay all day without going hungry. However, due to its popularity during peak season, lines for food can be long at times.
I never knew this place existed until I visited with friends. It was super fun! There were short wait lines for rides and the rides were simple and fun. I recommend this place to groups of ppl for hot days when you want to spend hours in the water. I love that this park is family friendly and you can leave and come back in without having to pay so you can pack food in a cooler and go back to your car to eat it then get back into the park and have a great time. There is plenty of parking and I liked that this place was busy but not overcrowded.

It was a very hot day so splish splash was insanely packed. The kids had a great time and the park was very clean. My only complaint is I waited over an hour on line for food. They need more people working in the concession stands.

5/5. Recommend going exactly at 10am if not a bit before. Buy the h2go pass! Or you will be waiting hours to get on a ride. Expect to spend the whole day there if you want to get on all of the rides. Even with h2go pass i was not able to complete all of the rides. Because wait time was more than 40minutes (with pass)

No mask required, bring your own dive shoes, if you have them. So unfortunately when we did visit this place it was cold 🥶, but from another point we had no lines to wait. On some of the ride we did ride couple of times. Overall place is good, I would not say it is huge, but it is nice day trip to enjoy. They are closing at 5-6 pm, so plan accordingly and arrive earlier.

Love this park every year. We go a bit early in the season to avoid crowds and deal with a bit colder water but well worth it. Treat yourself and GET A CABANA!! Shaded place to regroup and everyone loved not having to search for a spot to sit to eat. Getting served margaritas by the wave pool while the teenagers ran around the park, absolutely yes please!

We are visiting family in NYC from Canada. Definitely better than anything we got back home. It was a hot day but all that tree canopy made it a very pleasant day. Naturally popular rides will have a line up but if that isn't your cup of tea they do have a fast pass system. Kiddo loves the wave pool. If you're in NYC this ain't a bad day trip idea.

literally so expensive. mandatory $30 parking ?? anyways, my family and I were excited to come to splish splash. we hadn’t visited in over 2 years. our excitement quickly turned into annoyance bc their staff is HORRIBLE ! every ride we went on, the staff was so rude. they just hire anyone it seems like.

rides are cool. some really amazing.i understand business gotta make money but i dnt understand why simple bottled water and gatorade are not allowed, then they wanna charge you $4 a bottle inside. insane! and one bad experience was that, after waiting almost 2 hrs to get onto one of the popular ones, they shut it off for 5pm and the wait was in vain. that was pretty annoying and disappointing. id say go to dorney park if you ask me

The place is spectacular, excellent maintenance, the bathrooms are clean. The guys who help organize the lines could be quicker. I give the food two stars, pizza, chicken nuggets and hamburgers are not of the best quality. The park could use more food variety.
Important tip: you cannot enter the park with ANY type of food or drink, if you take it you will have to leave it at the entrance.
But don't worry, if you bring food, you leave it inside the car and you can go out to the parking lot, where there is an area with tables and seats, where you can eat.

Make sure you get here early and set aside a whole day to conquer this park. It is expansive. The best water park I've ever been to and easily the biggest and best in the northeast. Look into purchasing your ticket online, it tends to be considerably less expensive.

I love Splish Splash. I have been coming here for over 15 years. It is the best waterpark in the east coast that I have been to. The staff are very pleasant and welcoming. The bathrooms are always kept clean. The park has safety/police officers. Unlike the other waterpark that I went to last month, Splish Splash has plenty of tubes/floaties for free. The food prices and options are also reasonable.

Had a fun day on the rides. I would not recommend the food here. It's easier than packing a cooler but you're allowed in and out of the park with the stamp so it makes sense to bring better food at a cheaper price. Also one beer is $13. We haven't been in a while and liked the new rides

The park has a wide variety of attractions, from thrilling water slides to more relaxed lazy river rides.
The food options were also impressive, with a range of choices to suit all tastes and dietary needs. I enjoyed the chicken tenders and fries.
Overall, our experience at Splish Splash was a good time! I would recommend this waterpark but wait time for everything takes a long time. I waited one hour to go on a water slide.
At the entrance there’s a big chair that says “Splish Splash” that you can take pictures with.

My cousins and I took our kids yesterday, for me it was my 1st visiting and I liked how they have rides and water slides for all ages. We rented one of the cabanas and have our own private space so that was cool. To enjoy your time and money go there before 10am to get w nice parking and be 1st in lines for the rides !!!

My family and I went there for a getaway from the city and responsibilities. The place has a lot of attractions that will make your experience worth the while. I really loved the lazy river, the pool of waves and the house of horror (I think that is the name). My cousin and I went to the house of horror and were feeling a mix of terror and excitement. I would go on that ride again if I have to. It is definitely one I would recommend. Besides, the lazy river is amazing! Let’s just say that after a day full of activities at the park, you want to go into a new-last adventure, then the lazy river is perfect for you! Highly recommended

I live Splish Splash, but this time around, I was upset. The water was so COLD! I was able to take pictures while at the lazy river and rides and whatnot, but water was way too cold. My children got sick the next day, runny nose and cough. After a restful 5 days, they were better but im hoping next year is better.
My family and I just love this place! It screams peaceful New England vibes!!!

in Stony Creek Harbor, a few miles to the south is an archipelago of more than 100 rocky islands.
It’s thrilling to think that these landforms are the peaks of granite hills that were submerged during the last Ice Age.
Unlike many of the islands on Long Island Sound, the Thimble Islands are sturdy because of their granite bedrock and were settled in the 17th century.
The sheltered waters soon became a key deepwater anchorage, and one story goes that the pirate Captain William Kidd buried his treasure here.
There are 81 houses on the archipelago: Fourteen of the islands have only one house, while the most populated, Money Island, has 32. There are three boat companies at the Stony Creek Dock waiting to take you out on a narrated sightseeing cruise full of compelling stories.

I live all the way in Queens and I did the whole trip to go to the Victoria Secret Outlet. When I got there I was disappointed because it wasn’t what I expected. I saw a lot of reviews on TikTok and it wasn’t the same. I don’t know if i just went at the wrong time but they didn’t have mush stuff or a lot of sizes. I walked around the rest of the mall and it was very nice. This place has a lululemon outlet store which definitely caught my attention as well.

My experience was not good at all… I ended up going to the Sun glasses store. The girl that was there headed straight towards me and was staring at every move I made it was very uncomfortable… I asked if the prices had a discount and she was like ugh no, I ended up buying sunglasses for $210 and the same ones online are $174. Won’t go again

we used to like this mall, but not anymore. Prices have gone way too high, and many of the stores tell you that they are NOT outlet stores. So why are they in an outlet mall? It's a real rip-off. Also, they charge $10 membership so they give you a coupon book, but the coupons are not accepted in most stores on any sales, so why charge money for it? Want to save money? Stay home and shop on the web.

Quite close to my home. Spread over two different sections separated by a road. Almost all the US based brands are present there. Clean and well maintained. But most outlets close early on weekdays..... Officially they claim 7 to 8 but billing stops in most outlets around 6 PM.

Much better than the Tanger outlets in Deer Park in my opinion. Live about equidistant to both locations and always chose this one since it has better parking, store selections and food choices as well since the other does not have an official food court. Like that the outlet is split up into two sections and it's really easy to navigate to get from one store to another, not a maze like Deer Park.

The Long Island Aquarium is a popular tourist attraction that features a variety of interactive exhibits and displays showcasing marine and island wildlife. The aquarium boasts one of the largest coral displays in the Western Hemisphere, as well as a massive shark tank and touch tanks for hands-on exploration. Visitors can enjoy up-close encounters with penguins, sea lions, and seals through interactive features like selfies, meal prep sessions, boat rides, shark dives, feeding stingrays, and frolicking with sea lions.
Went on Mother's day which is you have a paid child than mom's go for free. Even though my son could have gotten in for free since he's under 2 it was worth paying for him instead of an adult ticket. They gave an otter presentation which I really enjoyed. The butterfly garden was also my favorite. Great fun place for anyone who is an animal lover! Highly recommend

I didn’t hate it or love it but it’s definitely not worth the $50 entrance. The sea lion show was okay. The butterfly area was also oky nothing special. The monkeys were nowhere to be found. Finished in 3 hours.
Jancy Rosero — Google review
This aquarium would be great for children, low viewing level so kids can see in. The place is well decorated, there is a huge shark tank you can watch from above and below. You can feed turtles and manta-rays in the front area. Don't forget there is a sea lion show that is a must see. Plus in the back there is a jungle gym tree and some tunnels to play in.
For adults, I think it is lacking signage with information about what's in each tank and a few facts about them. Plus it felt like a few of the tanks were smaller than they should be (not my profession, just seemed smaller than other aquariums I have been to)
Over all a good aquarium, maybe they need to clean up in general a little and adjust how tanks are set up.But I would go again.

That’s my second time in this aquarium and nothing changed still beautiful!
The Atlantis theme awesome Poseidon the Greek God unbelievable as a idea love every second there with my family! Picture with the Penguin and the sea lion show amazing experience! Butterfly garden breathtaking with the music . Snorkeling I’m sure unforgettable for the kids . Tickets for adult $42, parking 2 blocks away $12 for the day (not include for the tickets also if you wanna do the snorkeling it’s extra $39
picture with animals extra $22 (food kids eat inside the aquarium) fresh,
drinks have free refills soda slushes too.
Opening hours not so late weekdays 10-4 weekend till 5 if you wanna enjoy all adventures better to start there earlier.
I know it’s cost a lot together but once in the whole worth the trip!

Plan to spend the day. The aquarium is expensive. If you plan to come twice a year it’s worth it to become a member. There is a lot to do to keep everyone entertained. There are shows throughout the day and the staff is knowledgeable and happy to chat about the animals they care about. Also, checkout the rock wall and climbing play area. Food is also expensive so pack snacks.

We've been at the weekend and on a week day, it is definitely better to visit on a weekday as there is free parking and free entrance to the butterfly farm. This is a nice aquarium, with a great shark tank, sea lion shows and various fresh water and salt water tanks. There are also otters, snow.monkeys, bugs, porcupines, etc. My son loves coming here with all the different things to see. His favourite are the sharks, turtles and Ray petting pond.

What a great place we have here on Long Island!
I recommend visiting at least once, you will definitely want to come back again.
It is interesting not only for children but also for adults!
I really like the exhibition with butterflies.
Every time I am charged here with positive and good mood, it's like returning to childhood, I want to smile more often!
Also, I want to thank you for the wonderful and informative boat trip on the Tour boat on September 3rd.
In conclusion, I want to say that this is a really interesting place to have fun with both children and grandparents, for the whole family. If you plan to visit the Aquarium several times a year, buy a membership - it will save you time and money.

The staff get a 4.5. They are really knowledgeable and so enthusiastic. They are so great with visitors especially the children. However, it is really expensive for such a small aquarium. Spent almost $100 on tickets for 1 child and 1 adult plus parking. They charge you $12 to use the playground onsite. The glass on the attractions are hard to see through. My baby struggled to see the creatures. But he did have a great time and so I give it a 3.8.

Great place to take the kids but the cost of admission, parking, and food was high. Seven dollars for a small soda is outrageous! We did have a good time though.

My 7 month old loved the aquarium but a lot of the exhibits were closed or under construction..Maybe because of the off season (we went on a weekday in mid May) but for the price of admission I expected more. The penguins weren't out and we didnt see sea lions. Many of the tanks looked like they needed to be cleaned and some of the animals looked sad to me. The people working there were very friendly and the girl at the desk did tell us if we waited until 3, the price was half off, which we appreciated. Overall a fun experience but definitely pricey.

I recently visited the Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead, and it was a mixed experience. There were various captivating exhibits to explore, with the highlight being the stunning butterfly exhibit that's a must-see. However, my visit was marred by the fact that several exhibits were closed, possibly due to ongoing development or arriving too early.
One disappointment was the high cost of food, as I paid a hefty $21 for a grilled chicken sandwich that was mostly filled with lettuce and a side of sweet potato fries. On the positive side, despite the setbacks, the overall experience was enjoyable and fun (I'll update this review in the upcoming days, but I'll leave it like this for the time being so I don't forget to review it).

Today's visit went from bad to absolutely horrible and ruined pretty much the rest of the day. I normally buy tickets at my local library because it's $27 instead of almost 48 at the library. So I purchased four tickets this morning because my daughter gets in for free and I had a friend whose birthday was next Wednesday. When we got there the lady tried to explain to us that his birthday was in fact technically 8 days because they count today as a day which still makes no sense because his birthday was next Wednesday. Which one week equals 7 days not 8. We even pulled up a calendar and tried to do the math with her but she said that we either paid for him or he didn't get in. Whatever! I had another ticket in the car so I just had my one friend run back to my car and grab another ticket. Things took a turn for the worse when we went to the reptile exhibit and we watched the uromastyx lizards get into a full on fight one literally was bitten the other on the side so bad that there was blood. We decided to knock on the door that said employees only to alert them that the one lizard was harmed. We were met with a teenage looking boy sitting down and a bunch of kids just laughing saying oh that's how they play. We tried to explain to them that we all work in an animal store and that lizards don't in fact play with each other like that. I even tried to tell the guy that they should look at the reptile to check out the wound because it was bleeding and he said that the lizard was perfectly fine. Not too sure how a lizard that looks like it was getting half eaten and bleeding everywhere. Perfectly fine but whatever. I honestly don't think I will be returning in the future. It's sucks because the butterfly lady and the lady at the sea turtle were wonderful if only the rest of the staff could take notes.

Hammonasset is a beautiful beach. It’s always been one of my favorite places to visit.

Review specifically for West Beach. Although the entire park is amazing. Free parking for CT residents very clean and lots to do. Hiking, fishing, 4 beaches, camping areas, jogging and biking paths, food and drink, Public restrooms.
Beautiful beach with ample parking. West Beach is the place to bring the family.
There is a shaded eating area, the food was reasonably priced and was awesome. Burgers, chicken tenders, fried seafood combos, etc. vending machines for soda/water, snacks, and ice cream.
Huge public bathrooms, with baby changing station. 4 shower sprayers for feet right outside the beach.
The beach was clean, lots of space even during high tide. 4 life guard stands that were spread out. They had benches and shaded areas on the beach you could use as your spot as well.
The water was clear and calm. Being the Long Island sound, no waves during low tide, high tide very little. Water was clean.

The State Park campgrounds are extremely busy with children and families. Over 500 camp sites. There are written rules. However, most campers don't follow the rules.
Please be aware that most children play in and around the roads. Drive very slow.
The State Park has thousands of families from the campgrounds and day use visitors on the beaches.
The campground facilities were not well maintained or cleaned on a daily basis.
The young summer help at checkin, entrance gates was not very friendly and seemed to be occupied with their cellphones.
Only observed 3 Park Rangers on Saturday.
The store is small, cluttered, and more of a shack.
I would recommend visiting the nature center.

Great park but since we went camping, I will write more about the camp site.
It was good overall. The beach is a definite plus. The camp store(?) had all the basic necessities if you forgot something. You can rent a fire pit and buy fire wood there as well.
The camp site was a bit odd because it was a wide open space with no clear boundaries between the spots. It was also quite windy. This all could be due to the fact of that it's by the ocean. Wind was a double edged sword. Made it difficult to set up, to cook and eat. But it also made it a bit cooler, which was important since there was barely any shade. The open space and wind made it a great place to fly a kite 😄
Also, depending on the site you reserve, you might have to deal with a lot of goose droppings.

For someone who has a beach close by and has just gone to Misquamicut this beach isn’t super crazy awesome. It’s huge for sure and if you are into camping and all of that it looks like there’s more then enough space for it. There’s like three separate sections at least from what i could tell. And our section had a bath house no concession stand or and no lifeguard. There was enough parking spots and spots on the beach. The sand was pretty rocky and had shells. As you got closer to the water there was more shells and then out in the water was the best spot with the least amount of shells and rocks. There’s a lot of little fish around swimming and jumping out of the water. Some jelly fish were spotted too. The waves aren’t big at all. And the water is not super salty. Had my day trip fun here would i go back probably not. But at least i checked that off the list of things to visit!

Can’t beat a summer sunset at Hammonasset Beach State Park. I’m an avid camper and HBSP is my favorite spot for beach camping. The campground is about $20 a night and includes a spacious lot with a good size picnic table. If you want to enjoy a s’more by the fire place you can rent a fire pit at the campground shop. The rental is $12 and you’re required to leave a $20 deposit for the actual fire pit which you get back once you return the fire pit at the end of your stay. You get free access to the beach as a camper and you’re allowed guests at your campground until 10pm(quiet hour starts). Very nice place for families and people who love the beach.

Off season - camping would be nice -you can walk on thru the camping area in off season - the grassy lots are right over the sand dune - it’s just beautiful in the colder months. Different type of crowd gathers. The beach extends down to the salt marsh. They have a paved walkway from one end of the park to the other behind the sand dune. Even with decreased offering like no open stores or showers people that camp in the wildness understand this. Roughing it is understood and desired by many, because a certain type of people joy this type of camping.

The beach is separated into 3 or 4 different beaches it’s hard to decide which one to go to. The sand was very “rough” lots of broken shells and rocks and the waves were tremendous, my kids weren’t able to get into the water only hang on the shoreline. I will choose a different place to go to the ocean next time

Park is beautiful. There is plenty of parking at the beach with different layers of parking and activities. Nice wide beach area where you can walk for maybe a half mile down the beach. The campground was nice, lots of wide open campsites. Not much privacy if that is what you're looking for, but the big open space is great, especially if you're camping on groups. Wish you could bring dogs in the campground, that was the biggest minus. The bathroom facilities we're among the best ever at a campground. Would definitely camp here again.

Beach paradise! If you love the beach Hammonasset is fur you! A great place to come with family or your friends 🧡 loads of parking available and it's completely free 😊 you might have to walk a bit for a more secluded spot if that's what you're looking for. There isn't any food just in case so bring your own. There also aren't many lifeguards working normally. Overall though it tends to be crowded. Super clean though!

Enjoyed Labor Day at one of the few free beaches in the state. I parked on the west side and found it to be much better than the middle. It was less crowded and had a more parking. It was also much closer to concessions and bathrooms. Since the park is popular, there needs to be more effort to keep the bathrooms consistently cleaned and keep the dumpsters from overfilling. I’d recommend wearing swim shoes due to lots of rocks and shells.

My boyfriend and I decided to go back to a vineyard he tried a few years ago and we were pleasantly surprised. Not only did they expand but they kept their homey feeling. This is family owned and operated. We had the pleasure of having the owners daughter as a server. Not only is she welcoming and great to speak to but she’s attending college to learn all the ins and outs of everything there has to do with winery. We did not stay at the b and b but I can just imagine how lovely it is. Thank you for making it memorable and we’re looking into trying the wine making class. Cheers 🥂

My husband and i had the pleasure of staying at the Bed and Breakfast for our Anniversary and we cannot get over how absolutely beautiful our stay was. The room was gorgeous and the view was spectacular , i felt like I was in Italy . We had a delicious breakfast delivered to our room that was outstanding. We were also treated to complimentary flights at the winery as part of our stay and also a delicious charcuterie board. The wines were fabulous and we ended up leaving with a few cases.
i highly recommend coming here you will not be disappointed !

I recently visited Sannino as part of a bachelorette party and it was the PERFECT destination. We booked their Ladies Outing package and it exceeded our expectations. The details and decorations were perfect and complimented the beautiful setting. The wines were fantastic and the pairing was so well prepared. The Pumpkin Spice Slushy was also a huge hit! Aside from the beautiful atmosphere and delicious wines, their staff was truly incredible. Marisa was so knowledgeable about all of the wines and pairings. Kelly was so accomodating and went above and beyond to seat us on their beautiful patio once we had finished our tasting. Francesco took care of us on the patio and made sure our glasses were always full! Truly cannot recommend enough, a fantastic experience!

The wines are Delicious, some of the best we've tasted on the east end . Sannino also offers a large menu to enjoy along with the wine in lovely atmosphere . 5 stars on all counts

My boyfriend and I stopped in for a wine tasting and we were greeted by the owner himself! We ordered a bottle to share as well as the pretzel bites and a cheese pizza. The chilly day Chardonnay was delicious. We aren’t usually fans of Chardonnay but our server made an excellent recommendation and we’re happy we tried it! It was a rainy day and there was plenty of seating inside but having never been here before I was bummed it wasn’t sunny because the outdoor seating looked very nice.

Visited last weekend. What an amazing winery!! Beautiful atmosphere, great staff and wonderful bites to enjoy! The Vivacious Sparkling is just perfect. Will definitely return to enjoy their outdoor seating.

Had a great time visiting with my wife. Enjoying their delicious wine and their wonderful hospitality. The staff was great. Jaimee was the best. Tried reds and whites. All good! Had a great cheese board with meats and tapenade and fig spread. Live music put it over the top. Highly recommend this vineyard. Took home a Cabernet Franc and a Chilly Day Chardonnay. 1st time there but it won't be our last.

Beautiful place to stay. Only downside was they don’t let you control the heat and my wife was cold.
I messaged the host that we were cold and couldn’t control it and was told they would change it and wouldn’t let us control it ourself and they didn’t ask what we want the temperature to be. Also didn’t tell us about the other heat option.

Wine was great, the venue very pretty and should have been relaxing but they have a bad attitude issue. The publish that they are open until 7pm on Saturday but that really is only a marketing gimmick it’s not really true. Be very aware not to go there after 6:30pm. They start cleaning up at 6:30pm and if you get there anywhere near that time all of the staff will absolutely remind you REPEATEDLY that they close at 7pm. We had to almost beg to get a table, then we were told 8 times before we even ordered that it was already past last call and they close at 7pm. It ruined the whole experience and they should be ashamed. I would tell them that they should just close at 6pm or 6:30pm but it’s not the time it’s a management issue and it would still be the same issue just adjusted for whatever time they say they are closing. I would definitely not recommend this place to others there are way too many other wineries that actually want you to come and will treat you with respect and kindness.

I enjoyed my time here so much! Our server Joya was great super friendly and attentive. The vineyard was so beautiful and the wine selections are great. Very good prices and ok food items. I wish it wasn’t card only though I prefer to tip in cash so that was kinda disappointing but overall 10/10 experience. I will definitely be returning!

The. Best. Winery.
If you have not visited you are missing out. Once you visit you will immediately understand why you need to join the wine club. The wines are outstanding from both a quality and assortment point of view. Anthony Sannino the proprietor and wine maker does it all! The staff which includes family create a welcoming and educational environment which reflect the warmth of the stylish tasting room and grounds. Once you come you never want to leave! We have been members here since 2014 and will be for life! Look for their wines in local restaurants and if they don’t serve them ask that they do! Can not recommend any more highly! This is our favorite place to drink wine and spend time with friends outside of our own home.

I did a winemaking experience with the owner Anthony and his daughter last month just before christmas. We had a lot of fun! The wine was amazing, we had a tour of the grounds and barrel rooms that was super informative. The owner was awesome, he was very friendly and welcoming, we had a lot of fun discussions throughout. We did our winemaking last and it was so cool to be on the other side of it doing the blending ourselves. We corked, sealed, and decorated our bottles ourselves and then actually ended up buying an entire case of mixed wines with the discount we got with the experience-because there was too much good stuff to choose from. Definitely a great experience for anyone into wine/winemaking... or even just wine drinking 😂

Don’t go. The “suite” is nothing more than a couch, small tv, and uncomfortable bed. Old decor.. shabby everything. This place should never charge $500 a night. Service at the winery is on paper plates. Please!! I wrote to them before posting this but of course no response. Big disappointment.

Just visited the winery for a tasting with some friends. Great, rustic ambience. The facilities are clean. The wine and snacks are good quality. It's great to see the owner, Anthony, with his apron on, mopping up the rain water, serving and chatting it up with his customers. I felt at home. I highly recommend spending an afternoon out here at Sanino's for casual fun with friends or a significant other. I will try Anthony's bed and breakfast next, which is an extension of his vineyard.

Went for a glass of wine and a snack. Wine was ok. The Cabernet Sauvignon was very good but the petit verdot 2021 was very tanic. The fromage frais was not worth it and the saint marcellin in terracotta which is what we wanted wasn't available. Ambience and vibe was very nice, service is friendly but all payment is electronic and they stand over you as you try to decide on a tip which starts at 18% which is also not right. What ever happened to the customary 15%? Serving us 2 glasses of wine, 12 1" square crackers, and a small dish of mixed nuts is not worth 18%.

We thoroughly enjoyed this winery. The people serving and running it were knowledgeable and personable. David was exceptional. On top of a beautiful environment, the wines that we tasted, and there were many, were all delicious. We ultimately bought a case of mixed white and red. The food was delicious. This was absolutely a lovely experience. I was there with my two grown daughters and my grandchild. We had come from having the complete opposite experience at another “well known” place. If you want wonderful interesting wine in a lovely environment with nice hosts….this is your place. Be careful, it was hard to decide what to bring home. We didn’t taste one glass that wasn’t delicious.
Ospreys Dominion Vineyards, located at a comparable latitude to well-known winemaking regions such as France and Napa Valley, is renowned for producing exceptional wines. The estate cultivates more than 20 varietals of wine without human intervention and only bottles reserves during perfect weather conditions. Visitors can enjoy the wines on the picnic grounds or outdoor patios while participating in various lawn games.
What a beautiful winery! Wine tasted great and there was plenty of room to sit outside and they had live music. We brought our own food and had a nice picnic.

Went there for the first time this weekend for a friend’s birthday.
They have a real nice setup, bunch of tables with umbrellas on the lawn, some under the shade of vine… live music for the weekends. I really like their chardonnay, and they price it same as when you buy it in their store. The only difference is they serve it chilled.
You are allowed to bring you own food, although i saw they offer some stuff too.
Wonderful afternoon, will go back again.

Super cute, family friendly vineyard. Tons of seating options as well as a beautiful location. Started with wine tasting of 5 samples. Was a big fan of their lighter wines- sav blanc, resiling, and rose. Also really enjoyed their pinot and their mixed wine/sangria drink. Overall spent the day eating (brought our own food)

The man inside serving the “testers” was terribly bothered to serve/help us. He literally flung the tray with the five wines and some of the wine spilled onto the tray. He was more interested in his regulars and spoke to them with respect. I was with my two grown daughters and my granddaughter.
We were wanted to have a relaxing experience and hopefully find wine to purchase. The place was cold and uninviting. Their wine, and between the three of us, was not good. We threw out 15 small plastic cups outside. Nothing to purchase nothing to enjoy. The entire experience was simply pour. We did however find a fabulous boutique winery afterwards and bought a mixed case of wonderful diverse wines and were served by lovely welcoming people. Save your money. Unless you frequent this place and aren’t looking for an enjoyable experience….go elsewhere.

If you are looking for a fantastic place to spend a beautiful, relaxing and fun day then this is the place to be!
To start the staff is great. They are fully versed in all the wines they sell. Our favorite was the 2014 chardonnay.
The find a table outside and begin enjoying your day. They have live music, a small menu of food (or bring your own) and of course the wine you just bought.
Then enjoy sound outside games like vollyball or corn hole to name a few. Or take a walk through the vinyard.
It is a great way to spend the day and relax with friends and family..
We will be back soon...
Cooper's Beach, located in Southampton on Long Island, is a popular public beach known for its pristine seven-mile stretch of sand and ocean. It offers visitors the opportunity to relax while enjoying stunning views of nearby mansions. In addition to being family-friendly with guards on duty, the beach also provides chair/umbrella rentals and snacks for purchase. However, there is a high-end fee to park at this well-known spot.
amazing clean beach in the Hamptons area, top public on the island and around in general. The waves can be huge is not lucky with swimming conditions but in a good sunny not windy day it can be a blast!

Beach is lovely, but i question it’s ranking in the top 5 beaches in the country. Sand is clean and lovely pale white, no rocks or seaweed. The beach is well-kept. Parking is one of the few in the Hamptons open to the public, but at an eye-opening whopper of $50 per day.

Thought this beach may have just been hype but was really pleasantly surprised. Gorgeous long stretches of soft white sand that really is one of the cleanest beaches I've been to on the east coast, no shells, seaweed, etc. Gorgeous mansions in the backdrop and amazingly quiet during the week. $50 to park for the day but has restrooms, food, and plenty of space. We went after parking charges ended to catch the sunset.

I love waters so much and I’ve never been at the beach in such a long time and Coopers Beach satisfied all of my summer getaway cravings! The location is awesome, the locals are very friendly and the staff are amazing! It doesn’t usually get really crowded during weekdays and i felt like we have the beach all to ourselves because we arrived early so we’re like the first beach goers in there. The beach is very clean with helpful lifeguards on duty and very accommodating. It’s quiet, peaceful and is definitely one of the best beaches I’ve ever been to! Highly recommended!

This place is really beautiful, get there early to get good shaded parking, upon arrival it's $50 cash to park no apple/Samsung pay or credit card at the booth. You can rent chairs and umbrellas, there's an area to purchase food, the rest room and wash off area are closed down by 6 pm but they do have port a potties around. The waves are huge and rough, difficult to swim in, but fun to surf, paddle board and jump around in, very salty water, but clean.

Visitors can also explore nearby attractions such as Surfridge Brewing Co.

This was an excellent afternoon adventure! It helped that we had a perfect weather day with a nice breeze. But the train trip was just lovely with some very pretty views.. And then the boat trip was just wonderful. Nice and relaxing with good music and good stuff to look at.
We were a party of 5 with 2 teenagers visiting from out of state. The 2 teenagers acted too cool for this the entire time but they did actually enjoy it. They liked the snack bar on the boat the best. But us adults really enjoyed the weather and the scenery and the ride. I enjoyed hearing the history of both the train and the river.
Bring water bottle.

I love going on trains and this is one of my favorites now! We paid the little extra to stay in the first class Pullman car. The seats were all swivel recliners and they served drinks!! We then went on the train and got on the steamboat before returning to the train and back to the station. What a great trip! Will definitely do it again next time that we are in the area!

Awesome experience for any steam train lover. Kids and adults will enjoy the day here. I suggest the 1st class car because of the many signature drinks that they serve. The river boat ride is long and if the weather is nice it adds to an already amazing day.

We went on Memorial Day, and it was a beautiful day. I recommend buying tickets in advance online. Make sure to arrive 30 mins before departure because you have to pick up your tickets at the ticket booth. Coach tickets are $45, and first-class tickets are $60. You can purchase food and drinks on the riverboat, and the food is reasonably priced. Will definitely do this again !

Booking an Essex Steam Train & Riverboat tour is an easy add-on for a day exploring this area. It's really satisfying, while still leaving you time in your day to do other things. You don't need to be there ridiculously early, but plan accordingly. I actually went to the wrong starting location first and almost missed it because of that. If you don't see the large admissions building, you're in the wrong place. The train is fun, but goes through a lot of forest, so there isn't much to look at. The boat portion offers more satisfying views. Bring warm clothes so you can enjoy the open deck views. On my tour, we saw bald eagles, cormorants, an osprey nest and nice views of Gillette Castle splashed in autumn colors. Admission was very reasonable for this type of venue and books up fast when there's something special like holiday focused tours coming up.

I purchased 2 tickets for the dinner train to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and it was definitely one of the best birthday gifts I’ve ever thought of. This is a leisurely, luxury train ride that travels along the coast of the river. It was so nice, peaceful, and romantic that I think I’ll start coming back every year.
The food was just ok (Can’t expect much. It’s a train, not a 5 star restaurant). They served bread with butter, a small vegetable platter, a salad, an entree, a choice of two desserts and then coffee/tea service at the end. The dessert with tea were my personal favorite. Alcoholic drinks are also available but you have to pay separately, of course. They accept card for the drinks if you don’t have cash and you can tip on the card as well.
The scenery was lovely. The ride starts early enough that it’s still bright out and you get to see a clear view of the boats and the swamp. About halfway through, after the sun has set over the water, you start to head back and you can see everything at night as well. Unfortunately for us, we didn’t get a table next to the river so our view was obstructed by the group next to us but it was still nice.
Overall, it was a great time and I’d recommend it to anyone and everyone.

It was a nice ride. What made it more enjoyable was Peter who was our conductor. His smile was contagious and his desire to share his knowledge of steam engines was admirable. The day we went it was really hot, and it's not an air conditioned ride. But, overall a very memorable experience.

Beautiful place. They sold out quickly so buy your tickets when you decide to go. There was a wedding going on so my husband and I took a lot of pictures of the trains that were not in use. The ride is not rushed and this includes the boat.

What a great way to escape the fast paced world and go back in time.
Easy access from I95, plenty of parking on property and they stay on schedule so plan accordingly.
Their web site details the options for various experiences.
Some trips catering to families and others to adults.
My favorite is their Dinner Train.
There is a well stocked gift shop, clean bathrooms and a fairly tiny snack shop.
If you want to have a meal before or after your trip I’d suggest giving the Surfridge Brewing Co next door.
We opted for the very comfortable First Class Car where they will serve you signature cocktails, beer or wine. Well worth the upgrade with all window views from your verity comfortable swivel plush seat.

The kids had a blast! Walking up to the train was great all in itself. The steam/smoke coming out made for a great show. My son was amazed. The main house was warm and cozy. What a fun day trip, great for train and riverboat enthusiasts, as well as history buffs & nature lovers (we enjoyed bald eagles, nesting osprey, egret, and blue heron sightings) narrated with local historical information. You can do just the train, just the boat or the combo as we did. They have special events as well, circus under the stars on the Becky Thatcher riverboat, and dinner events on either the train or the riverboat… well worth it🇺🇸

Had a fun time on the old Steam Train and River Boat Ride. We went on a rainy day and enjoyed the trip anyway. On rainy days, the picture taking isn't so great but we enjoyed a relaxing day nonetheless. The train ride takes you to the Connecticut River where you'll climb on board the river boat for a fun ride up there river and back. We saw the Gillette Castle and several bald eagles. You'll board the train again and head back to the station. Great trip back to yesteryear.

Embarking on the Essex Clipper Dinner Train, we were welcomed into much more than a mere dining experience; it was a dive into the opulent embrace of the Golden Twenties. Despite the relentless downpour outside, which under typical conditions might have de-railed our spirits, the evening advanced splendidly on track, buoyed by an ambiance that echoed a Great Gatsby-esque dinner party. The warm welcome from the staff, who were not only friendly but also rich in knowledge, set the tone for the enchanting evening ahead. Right from the start, we were whisked back in time, with the meticulously restored Pullman car serving as a splendid venue for a memorable evening. Complemented by the vibrant tunes of swing and foxtrot, which captured the exuberance of the Roaring Twenties, and an exquisite selection of drinks, the stage was impeccably set for a culinary spectacle. The four-course meal that ensued was nothing short of spectacular, justifying every cent spent. The delicious fare and the carefully curated atmosphere ensured that our spirits remained high, completely unaffected by the gloom outside. This Dinner Train stands as a tribute to an era when glamour knew no bounds, proving that some experiences are indeed too captivating to be "stationary."

If you have not had this experience you are not living. An unbelievable glimpse back in time. Food-5 stars, service- 100 stars if that were an option. As you enter you will be awestruck, white linen table cloths with apps and your salad plated. The train car made me feel like I should have worn a 3 piece suit with a derby from the 1920’s. The only downside was the conductor constantly interrupting conversations and dinner with useless information. FYI he cut his grass twice a week this year. Unneeded which took away from the experience. But still 5 stars, we are booking again tonight and I would highly implore you to do the same. Hands down one of the coolest experiences I have had. Bravo to the staff, your level of service left nothing to be expected. Restaurants worldwide should be trained by you. Thanks for a great night out celebrating my mother in law’s 70th. I night I shall never forget.
The Florence Griswold Museum is a restored 1817 mansion that served as a boarding house for artists and currently showcases American Impressionist works along with rotating exhibits. At the heart of Old Lyme's artistic reputation, it boasts indoor galleries, an artist's studio, and lovely gardens with views of the nearby river. The museum is known for its enchanting and peaceful atmosphere which inspired American impressionists to create art that captures nature's beauty.
Great exhibit for the month of October. Twenty three different Fairy Houses. Nice brochure of each exhibit with something you need to locate in each one. Exhibit is outdoors. Beautiful gift shop. Ate at their seasonal outdoor restaurant. Had lobster, corn and avocado salad. Art gallery also. Lots to do.

We went for their fairy displays. They have a variety of people/groups construct fairy villages of different themes throughout their grounds and you follow a path. The kids get a map with a scavenger hunt. The grounds are gorgeous and the villages are well done. They have a art museum on site that we did not visit. They also have a restaurant that was busy the day we were there. It was a small menu but the food sounded and smelled good.

Late Georgian-style mansion reflects the affluent, formal style of living during Old Lyme’s maritime era. It brings alive the work of American Impressionist artists in the place where they lived and painted. The period rooms rekindle the spirit of another life and time.
Also appreciates of art and architecture from across the ages. Anna Audette perceived transcendent humanity and ingenuity vested in the crafted objects and spaces.

An enchanting and peaceful place! Going here it is clear why American impressionists got their inspiration from the beauty of nature. Many lovely flower gardens, wild fields and flowers, fruit trees, and peaceful view of the nearby river surrounded by tall cattails. There is an indoor gallery, an artist's studio, and also a small cafe that has a good view of the river. Plenty of parking and admission price is reasonable.

Went to see The Wee Faerie exhibit on Columbus Day weekend. There was a scavenger hunt for the whole family to participate in. It was so much fun. But, the best part of the day was the kiddos being surprised by a living statue of Neptune. When done seeing all the museum had birth inside/outdoors, we enjoyed a nice lunch outside and watched local artists paint their inspiration (river landscape) on canvas. Couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day to enjoy with the family at FGM. Thank you for a magical day!

You get a sense of why the Griswold House was such a popular retreat for artists by walking through the garden and around back by the estuary. The location is simply serene!
A guide gave our group a personal tour explaining the meaning behind each piece and was very informative. Admission as of May is 50% off ($6) due to construction. Like most family attractions this time of year, weekdays are popular for school field trips. I would advise calling ahead of your visit to plan around them for the best experience.

Loved this place! The Gallery wasn't open as they are preparing for a new exhibit. The house tour and grounds are wonderful. The door panels painted by then resident artists are so interesting. Our docent was a wealth of information. We even got to see a few of the Faerie Gardens being set up around the grounds for October exhibition. Florence Griswold was an amazing woman and inspiration. All this for today's admission of five dollars. You should go!

A great hidden gem that I didn't expect to find on my trip. It's a bit unassuming driving by, but holds a decent amount of gorgeous art and history (especially because Impressionism and Tonalism are my faves). The art in and out of the gallery was impressive, and the staff were knowledgable. We went during an off-season, so the cafe wasn't open, and the flowers weren't entirely blooming yet, but it was still an amazing time nonetheless and would be even more perfect during the summer. There were no events happening at the time, but they seem great.

The Orient Beach State Park has much more to offer than its beach. The beach area is nice although pebbly like many of the beaches on the North Fork and there are life guards who looked insanely bored since there was no one really on the beach when we arrived. The wetlands are really spectacular and you can get some great bird watching in of you bring binoculars or a telephoto lens. The osprey nest on the platform they set up is great and they were definitely at the nest when we drive by. You pay a per car fee at the gate. Definitely worth a visit if you're going to go to the point as well.

Excellent beach! plenty of picnic tables, bathrooms, showers to rinse the salt after you have enjoyed the sea. The parking area is big enough to accommodate a big crowd, there is an area where you could take a hike and check the habitat of many birds. There is a small playground, a kayak rental business and even a little Bodega, where you can buy cold drinks, hot dogs, and charcoal if you are planning to BBQ. It costs $10.00 and you can enjoy a whole day on the beach.

Gorgeous, secluded area in Orient. Beautiful sunsets. Calm waters, perfect for small children. Shore is very rocky, water shoes a must. Picnic tables, grills, bathrooms nearby, plenty of parking. Bring mosquito spray. Awesome place to spend with family and friends.

Very beautiful and not over crowded. There is barbecue area and kids has play ground. The best spot for family fun and picnic 😇. Mask is required for enter the park. If you plan to go then go to early. Because when parking lot full park authority don’t want let you in.
However I like this park very much.

Totally worth the drive out there. I was lucky enough to see deer rutting and heard bucks locking horns. The trail system isn't huge but it's still a very relaxing spot to sit by the water. I went in the off-season, mind you but it's a great recreational resource.

A beautiful park in a great location. We couldn’t help but stop and stare at the abundance of lichens all over the trees! Can’t wait to come back in the summer.

Absolutely beautiful place and well maintained facilities. A gorgeous drive in and out. Bathrooms, showers etc. available at the end as well as a lot of playground equipment. Wish I could've taken more pictures but I was the driver so you get what you get. We came in November, it was beautifully overcast but it gets dark shortly after 4pm so keep that in mind.
Thank you to all the staff of Cross Sound ferry, (both NY and CT)
You have made our trips Safe and worthwhile! (son goes to Uconn).
We’ve been On almost all the ferry in their fleet and each one is a great experience.
Even when the weather is not ideal, at times (rain, rough seas) The captain, staff and crew made us feel safe. They do their job well and are very efficient.

This was extremely convenient and easy! My first ferry experience with the motorcycle and no issue at all. Motorcycle riders - they consider your bike and also offer to let you stay with it for the ride! Great service and a great little bar on the deck. Ride was beautiful and calm (and they announce the conditions) so I left the bike and enjoyed some refreshments. Thank you to the ferry team!

Not often you can ride in a piece of history.
Great service on Ferry. Always take advantage of the food.
This time took in the museum. The ship was used during D Day in 1944.
Amazing.
Always great service and professional crew. Great was to travel across the Long Island Sound to and from New London and Orient Point.

This was my first time being on a big ferry ship like this and it was definitely a great experience. I was one of the first cars onboard and after parking I headed upstairs and was amazed at the size of the sitting area upstairs and also that there was a small café onboard! Very nice that the seats have places to plug in and charge devices. I loved the views from the upper deck, and when we were pulling into the port on arrival there were fireworks going off which was pretty cool :)

Enjoyable ride from New London CN to Orient Point NY. Does not save time if you are going to NYC but does avoid much of the traffic.

We always take the ferry from New London to Orient Point when visiting family on Long Island. If traveling from CT and points to the north it allows you to avoid the bridges and the LIE traffic to get out east on the island in a relaxed way. Discount rates are available if you join their rewards program which costs nothing. Nice food service too. Try it.

This is the easiest, safest, and most relaxing way to travel through New England. Skip the I-84 traffic and travel through Long Island instead. Enjoy the ferry ride to or from New London (CT) / Orient Point (Long Island). I recommend taking the boat at sunset. It’s beautiful.

Nice service, more ferries than PJBF (Port Jefferson & Bridgeport Ferry). The first time I visited this company was 8/18/2022. The ferry we boarded was the SEAJET I, one of the CSF high-speed ferries. I enjoyed the views of New London, CT, Plum Island, Fishers Island, and Orient Point. That is why I give this place ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐/5. Less expensive as well. This review is related to August 2022, but rated January 2023.

This is a great way to break up your trip if you’re heading from Long Island to New England. I love being able to avoid going through New York City and the related traffic. Generally it doesn’t save you much time but it does save you the headache of being stuck in traffic jams. Also, the ferries are nice quick and efficient with restaurants and bars on board, and it just gives you an opportunity to unwind and get off your butt and walk around a long road trips. Reservations are mandatory and priority service to get you first on first off, is a nice convenience.
Jason Amiama — Google review
This is the greatest way to avoid the endless gridlock of NYC traffic as well as the comparable traffic in parts of Connecticut. The crew is super friendly, as are the employees in the parking lot. For those familiar with it, this ferry reminds me of the Kitsap Puget Sound Ferry, only better! They have a great cafeteria with surprisingly good food. The trip is about the same as the trip from anywhere in New England to NYC when there's little traffic and far quicker than when there is traffic.

We took the lighthouse tour ferry. Well worth the price. The narrator of the tour was very knowledgeable and humorous. Highly recommend.
The well-known ocean beach in East Hampton provides lifeguards and amenities such as a snack bar and bathroom. The Hamptons, located on the far east of the South Fork, offer a variety of settings from retro beaches to luxurious enclaves spread across peaceful hamlets. This rural backdrop of opulent villas overlooking the sea makes it a popular summer destination for New York residents.
I like the ocean. I often visit just to count the waves. Check out this boat way out there.
The entire East End is nothing like it used to be. The historic authenticity is dead - replaced with Gucci and the same kind of homogenized American dream that brought us the exiting world changing event known as the Will Smith slap.

Beautiful and extremely clean beach. However, you do need a east Hampton Village permit to visit the beach in the summer. Town permits and village permits are not the same thing, so you need to have a village permit to go here. It’s free to go here in the winter though.

Top-notch beach & and top-notch lifeguards who r on top of their game. went there a day after a storm, and the lifeguards looked like they worked really well as a team, to make sure no one got carried away by any rip currents!
Easy to get to. Park in town and get a free ride via circuit app or wave down one of the free circuit busses for free. (This method helps u avoid paying the $50 parking fee at the beach for non residents)

Great public beach, clean restrooms and some food options. We had plenty of room to relax and it was a great atmosphere. If you want food, make sure you have CASH. We got there later in the day so the parking lot was closed, but were able to park at the Lumber Lane lot in the village and take a free Circuit ride to the beach. Ended up taking a car back to our car since the Circuit line was a bit long at the end of the day.

You can get a table to relax while reading or just enjoy every sip of your coffee. Feels like you're in your own veranda over looking the ocean. Yes, this is my number 1 beach among other beaches in East Hampton. It's 5 star!

Absolutely gorgeous beach with great lifeguards, bathrooms, and a (pricey) concession stand. Parking between May 15 and September 15 requires a resident permit or an expensive non-resident pass ... park in town and take the free circuit shuttle to avoid the fee or walk/bike from town. We love this beach!
Ocean Beach Park is a popular recreational area situated on a 1/2-mile beach boardwalk. The area boasts an Olympic-size pool, miniature golf course, playgrounds, and cafe among other attractions like volleyball nets, spray park for children under 8 years old, carnival rides, ice cream shop and gift shops. This well-maintained park provides plenty of shade and benches for visitors to relax on while enjoying scenic views from the boardwalk or under some trees.
Very well kept beach with a nice boardwalk and small amusement park. We visited here during the winter so the amusement park was close. However the beach was very clean.

Quickly became one of my favorite places to be this past summer. Perfect place for families. Water is super clean either by the cove or in the open. Very small waves are perfect for kids of all ages. We loved bringing our family here all summer long, and the season pass is definitely worth it. Staff is courteous and hard working. Prices are reasonable for food and drinks. There's a restaurant, a bar, a mini golf course, a small amusement park, and an arcade. There's pretty much something for everyone. And if you are just interested in hanging out at the beach, you can watch the water and look for submarines sailing by. The park has events going on nightly during the summer and 3 different nights for fireworks. We will definitely be returning for many summers to come.
José Lourenço — Google review
There weren't a lot of options in the park. The beach was beautiful, but most of the restaurants were closed or out of certain foods to really give this place a proper post. So, beach was great, and there was a fun mini golf space. The ice cream spot was okay, a bit pricey.
The beach was beautiful.

Out of all the beaches I have gone to, this by far is the best one. The setup of the beach is really convenient. The beach is clean. Cool restaurant and gift shop. Outdoor shower is available. My only complaint is how long it took for us to get in. The line to pay took us a whole hr to get in. I'm hoping that it was because it was memorial day. I would totally go back again.

Just an okay beach. It is pretty. However, it's also kind of dirty. There are tons of bottle caps and cigarette butts all over. Plus there isn't much to do and the boardwalk is small. For $35 a car, there should be more to do or it should cost less.
Tosha K — Google review
Wow, I am impressed. The beach, bathrooms and board walk were amazingly clean. There is volleyball nets, spray park for children 8 and under, olympic size pool, a playground, carnival rides, ice cream shop, concession stand and a gift shop. There is plenty of shade and benches to sit on if you want to...on the boardwalk or under some trees. The water is clear and every staff member we came in contact with was pleasant and helpful.
Beth G — Google review
$30 just to park. $13 for a hot dog. $7 for a small cone ice cream. The arcade is old and most of the machines were broke or they just take your coins and then doesn't work! The Olympic size pool is closed. I lived in CT for many years and this was my 1st trip to Ocean City. What a disappointment but what do you expect in CT! Unless you live in Greenwhich its hard to afford bring a family. Not worth it.

Peaceful beach with bathrooms, a place to purchase food, showers to clean off the sand, and a small arcade. There are numerous life guards on duty and the beach itself is very large. Parking is on the more expensive side but the cost is well worth it. Unfortunately there were a few cigarettes in the sand along with some vapes but overall the beach was clean. A great place to hang out and enjoy the ocean.

I had a great time here with my kids last week! Parking was reasonable $10, and the parking lot was large enough to hold a lot of cars and close to the beach area so walking was minimal. Beach was clean and a lot of room to sit. The water was very clean and crystal clear! There's a small inlet which was great for smaller children to swim and catch hermit crabs. The bathrooms were clean and there was ice cream available as well as other treats. I am definitely going back here again because it's closer to me so with gas prices rising I don't plan on driving further then I need to.

Very clean, beautiful, family oriented beach ⛱️. I went with 13 girlfriends and had the best time. If I'd known that there were jellyfish in the water prior to going I probably wouldn't have gone. I didn't hear about the fact that there are quite a few sightings until I shared a few photos with a relative. While at the beach two of the women I was with saw one because they swam a little farther out into the ocean than I did. Also be sure to keep any food in containers. The seagulls will come in droves to eat it.
I had so much fun that we are planning another drive out there.
U.S. Navy–run submarine museum featuring photos, documents & vessels, including the USS Nautilus.
There is a lot this place has to offer, and since admission is free, you can either breeze through and admire things you're interested in, or soak in every last exhibit. The submarine is a museum unto itself, and while the younger members of our party explored it, those of us who have bad knees and claustrophobia chose to stay above ground. The outside exhibits were as interesting as the inside. Masks were required inside.
Janet Richey — Google review
The museum was cool but the actual submarine was closed due to malfunctioning ventilation and has apparently been closed for months. It's not supposed to reopen until some time in 2024. Would be nice to see that on a website or something. The displays were informative and all pretty cool.
Chad Hall — Google review
Nice museum building with all sort of interesting submarine history and armament. The interactive periscope and sub controls are fun for the kids. They also have a decommissioned nuclear sub to tour. Very well done and as easy to move around in…at least as much as can be expected when you’re 6’3” lol. DUCK. If you aren’t super into subs…you can go through it all fairly quickly. If you’re a military nerd…you’ll need a couple hours.
Kevin Buell — Google review
We managed to made a stop early in the morning at this museum because my son is interested in submarines. The museum is very informative and no entrance fee. However it’s disappointed to find out that SSN 571 is not open due to maintenance! And they don’t even say when it could reopen!
I wish they could simply put the reopen date on their website so that people like us could make a plan for revisit.

What a great place to come and learn about submarines! Right next to the active submarine base this place holds a wealth of history and even better is that there is no entrance fee. But be sure to donate they can continue to operate fully! Was very neat to be able to board the worlds first nuclear powered submarine, USS Nautilus.

Stopped by today while heading home to NJ from Newport. First time visiting. Lucked out and got to see a Virginia class sub being towed into the river heading out to sea. Lots of good history inside the museum. Touring through the Nautilus was also great.

Museum dedicated to the US Navy's submarine service, and the first nuclear powered submarine, the USS Nautilus is located off post, just south of the Groton Submarine Base. The museum is open to the public Wednesday through Monday, and there is no charge for attendance. Those interested in history, technology, and military affairs may appreciate the museum most. The museum is located on the Themes River about ten minutes from I-95.

A must stop if you’re in the area. Lots of Naval submarine history and a self guided tour of the USS Nautilus. Fascinating history of Admiral Rickover, the father of nuclear powered submarines. Look for the story of CMR Gilmore a metal of honor recipient famous for saying “Take’r down.

Updating the rating as it was a misunderstanding and it was clarified. Thank you for explaining this and clarifying it. I'll gladly change this to a 5 star as the museum as awesome!
The museum is awesome!
I gave three stars because I saw a crumbled flag under the staircase, which is pretty upsetting

I like this museum. Unfortunately the Nautilus was off limits due to a ventilation problem. They didn’t know when it would be fixed. I recommend calling first to see if the submarine is open to visitors.

We popped in before leaving our long weekend vacation in Mystic and were happy we did. This museum is free but I highly recommend giving a donation since it helps with maintaining the attraction. The museum has lots of interesting and interactive exhibits that are great for kids and adults alike. My favorite part of the museum is going in an actual submarine and exploring its many rooms. I do want to issue a trigger warning to those who suffer from claustrophobia. The passages through the submarine are understandably narrow and there isn't a much room for people to pass each other. Additionally, the steps down are steep and doorways require lots of ducking (so if you are a larger individual this might be uncomfortable for you). I enjoy history and learning about these submarines was fascinating!
Ashley Roberts — Google review
There is a wealth of history here! Just waiting for you to come explore it!! It's a great place to come learn about submarines and naval history. What a super fun place! For a free museum, we sure had a fantastic experience!
The museum has a scavenger hunt which kept the grown ups and kids occupied for over an hour!
There are some outdoor exhibits when you first get on the property, then indoor, and you'll walk outside to the submarine. There's also a gift shop.
Suggested $10 donation for entry, but it is still free.
I 100% recommend!

We loved it. The kids had a great time at the little daycare area they had. I didn't even want to leave them in daycare, I wanted to go back there and play with them since it looked so cool! Staff said it was strictly kids only, so we paid for an hour just so they could go check it out. Shops are expensive as far as food and drinks, but that's to be expected. The little candy store was nice and had some hard to find old fashion candies. Arcade was reasonably priced considering how much arcades cost. We spent $75 between the 2 kids and they got to play a lot of games. I even convinced my husband to gamble a little bit. We'd love to go back and stay in the Mohegan sun hotel next time.

I had a good time there and without gambling too much. This place is packed on the weekend. It's more than a casino, it's a place you can bring the kids, they will have some fun too . The stores sure are expensive, but that's to be expected in a casino resort. The casino itself is very beautiful. It's also very clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful. A very good selection of affordable priced restaurants. I had fun just walking around.

This is my favorite place on the East Coast to gamble. I live in New Jersey and I do not like going to Atlantic City. The only thing I can say about the drive even though it’s supposed to be 2 1/2 hours route 95 is horrible so it does take close to three to
3 1/2 hours. I would rather drive the extra time to go to Mohegan Sun than go to Atlantic City. the casino and the rooms are spotless from valet to luggage guys are great they’re fun the front desk people are so knowledgeable helpful. Great restaurants believe it or not. Our favorite place to go now is Frank Pepe‘s pizza? It’s terrific, we go to the Mexican restaurant sit at the bar and have our cocktails. The bar staff is terrific. Todd English is Tuscany is great we’ve been there several times and of course we always finish the night with our ice cream at Ben & Jerry’s. It has turned into a non-smoking casino for now, which is fine. If we spend a couple of days there, we will take a drive into Mystic to go to. The little store is the town Mystic Seaport even great restaurants there it’s 20 minutes away. It’s worth the trip. We never have a bad time at Mohegan Sun, and when we go up to that part of Connecticut.

I came here with my family. I love it here. It is a very very large hotel. It is kid friendly, they have an arcade and a baby sitting area if you’d like to drop your kid off. There are many many food options such as fast food and fine dining. The rooms were up to par and cleaned nicely. It was a great experience and the Casino was very large and a variety of machines. The hotel comes with two beautiful pools. The nightly rates are good, you just need to find one that accommodates you the most. There are always events here and they’re cheap. I’d recommend coming here with your family!

This place is ridiculously large. Visited friends getting married here - the large suite made preparation for that easy.
Key card is required in order to even work the elevator, so its secure.
Parking garages easy to navigate into other areas of the casino, but valet parking is free even for guests at Sky Tower, should you desire to use it.
Prices were higher than I was willing to pay, even for the most basic rooms, so I stayed elsewhere, but all the employees I interacted with were very kind.

My husband and I came here from Philly to see a Tool concert in the arena. It was beautiful and super convenient. The hotel rooms were spacious and beautifully furnished. Beautiful view of the river from our windows. It was a short distance to the arena from our room and where the stores and restaurants are. We had fun at the casino, too, but I was really impressed with the architecture, art sculptures, waterfall, mosaic glass lights, mohageny arches, and sculptures. The Italian restaurant looked like an old world Catholic church, which added a classy, elegant, and creepy vibe. I loved everything about this place, and I can't wait to go back!

I've visited on weekend evenings for a concert and to celebrate a friend's birthday. Both times were a memorable and positive experience. The parking is free, although more exterior signage would have been helpful for parking. As far as the interior, this place has an absolutely thoughtful and breathtaking interior design. I could go on and on about how beautiful and clean it is here. Mohegan Sun is large, but both smaller and more adult-oriented than it's competitor, Foxwoods. I cannot speak to the casino and hotel rooms at this time but the food selection is great and there are a lot of late night options.

My wife and I went there for a day trip, not to gamble but just to see the place. The casino was as eye blindingly bright as you'd expect, and gambling was available everywhere as you can imagine. Drove to the Mohegan Sun on May 15, 2022 & November 21, 2022 mornings to hangout with friends to gamble. It was about a 3 hour drive. When arrived there was lots of parking space. The parking is free. The staff are very friendly and helpful with any questions, directions. The restrooms, casino, restaurants, shops, floors all very clean. There’s many machines, table games and sports betting. Lots of shopping stores and restaurants. The food at the restaurants are delicious and well prepared which makes you want more. I’ve not had the opportunity to go to the night entertainment for shows, club nights etc…. Will be looking forward to do so for future visits. Did not stay overnight will book a few nights for the future. Thank you Mohegan Sun for an excellent experience.

It's a great casino for those that go for the machines. There are an adequate number of table games and sports betting. Fanduel has a great space. Can't wait for the Kentucky Derby I've been having so much fun down there the past couple weeks the VIP lounge private tables and now we're going to be upstairs for the Kentucky Derby with a view of everyone can't wait. Love you Mohegan Sun
Vast resort featuring 2 casinos & an 18-hole golf course, plus 2 spas & multiple dining options.

We stayed at the Sky tower and it was amazing! The whole lobby and place smelt like soap it was so clean. Very comfortable beds, waking up was difficult. The lobby is located right near some of the best restaurants and nothing is really too far. We had a gorgeous view of the water, I recommend being higher up if possible. A great way to spend my birthday weekend. Thank you!

Everything there was of the best kind of quality food, attractions, dancing, the gambling was fierce the partying was never over. My wife and I went there for a day trip, not to gamble but just to see the place. The casino was as eye blindingly bright as you'd expect, and gambling was available everywhere as you can imagine. However, when considered as a mall, it was very attractive with some great architectural details that were over the top, but interesting.

Hither Hills State Park is a vast recreational area on the Southside with sandy beaches, sand dunes, and trails leading to the north side bay section. The park features picnic areas, restrooms, firepits, and over 150 campsites that cater to both day trippers and overnighters. The beach has lifeguards, allowing visitors to swim or fish safely. Hither hills campground. I have to say one of the best bathrooms I've ever seen at a campground. They also have family bathrooms and super large showers 😜.No pull string water control is the best. There's a nice size playground for the kids or big adults. All the sites are back in. There is no privacy between sites and every site is completely open.Everyone is very friendly. They actually have a general store that sells beer. They sell wood at the main office $7 a bundle. It was worth it . On the back side of the main office building they have air fill up the station. If you're coming back from wheeling this is nice. From where we camped we were literally on the other side of the dune to the beach. There are no hookups so you have to be self-contained. There are water spickets around the campgrounds. So if you do pick a site that is close to one of these water stations you might get some extra foot traffic near your site. Something to think about when choosing a spot. We really had a great time and you're only 10 minutes away from town which was also very nice. We will definitely be returning.

The perfect camping beachside experience in Long Island. Extremely large campsites, beautiful beach, camp general store with hot food and the newer bathrooms (on one side of campground) are clean, spacious, and the best campsite bathrooms I’ve ever seen!
The only negative was the check in process which was a little disorganized with people leaving their campers on the road and walking to the office to sign in, so be prepared. This was early in the season and I imaging it gets worse. Check in was three and they didn’t let people check in before 2:45.

Ditch Plains Beach is a popular destination known for its excellent surfing and swimming opportunities. The beach boasts seasonal lifeguards, making it a safe spot for water activities. Situated near Montauk, the beach is framed by impressive cliffs and offers stunning panoramic views. Visitors can bask in the sun on the clean sandy shores or take a refreshing dip in the ocean. The area is also favored by surfers who come to ride the long breaks along the sparkling shoreline.
This locals beach is famous the world over for Atlantic surfing. You can only park with a resident or town permit (and the town permit only works for the DIRT parking lot further to the east), and they do ticket like crazy. In the first parking lot, there are a couple of food trucks for snacks, and bathroom facilities in the summer. It's a beautiful location, but you can see a similar type of beach when you are at Montauk state park at the lighthouse.

If you’re a surfer or in need of a good (windy) beach walk, then this would definitely get more stars from me. I’ve only given it three in terms of family friendly clean white sands which this beach isn’t as good for compared to lower down the cost. There’s quite a few stones on the beach at high tide.
It offers a comfort station (not open yet) and some parking.
