Mount Rainier National Park is a picturesque wilderness covering an area of 263,000 acres around Washington's highest peak. It boasts of wildflower meadows and glaciers that add to its breathtaking beauty. This national park is a must-visit destination for nature lovers who wish to admire the stunning views and hike the surrounding area. The magnificent landscape offers incredible photo opportunities, but it's hard to capture the full splendor in pictures alone.
Seriously!!! Wow!!! Such an amazing national park. This was our first trip to Washington state and we loved it! My wife and I hiked the silver falls trail. Unfortunately the park was closed for the winter, but we were still able to hike into the park. We will definitely be returning in the summer to enjoy the entire national park

Mt Rainier is absolutely gorgeous! It is a must visit on my list! The hiking trails by the visitor center are stunning. The drive up is also beautiful with waterfalls along it. It felt so magical being up in the clouds! I went in July and there was still snow on the trails but it made the hike more fun!
Sadie Collier — Google review
Wow this park was incredible. Views are amazing-even from the road! There were so many different hikes (our favorite was skyline trail at paradise) and you could even find hikes that were family friendly. Make sure to add this park to your bucket list. Be aware, there’s no gas stations in the park but they do have some just outside so plan accordingly.

Unbelievably beautiful! The views were amazing from all the hiking spots around Sunshine. Sourdough ridge and a few other shorter trails had great vistas, although there was too much smoke to see the peak of Mt. Rainier the day I was there.
I was thankful I had some extra layers with me, as it was very cold. It peaked at about 40F in the afternoon, despite being August. So for newbies, bring a hat and an extra jacket!
The rangers there in the morning gave fantastic tips for all the trails (and some spots to sit and sketch while avoiding damaging the delicate wildlife), and the gift shop was warm and lovely after my brisk hikes.

One of my favorite national parks. Got to visit in the fall. Our hike up was consumed by foggy mist, on the way down it cleared up though so we got to take in some of the views. A must go place!

Easily one of the most breathtaking U.S. national parks! Mount Rainier is a sight to see at least once in your life. This park is split into different sections due to the size and layout. We spent one day in Paradise and one day in Sunrise, with some stops in between. On a sunny day, you can see Mount Rainier from most places throughout the park. A cloudy day could definitely be a bummer. Unfortunately, our day in Sunrise was all cloud. There are a ton of amazing trails of various difficulties. Just do some research and pick your favorites! Be sure to get out there early so you’re not fighting for a parking spot. And try to go in the shoulder months, if possible. We opted for mid-September. Also, be mindful of the wildlife – the chipmunks will do anything for some of your food. One last thing… the elevation is a little high at points (I started feeling the effects while hiking the Skyline Trail) so just be sure to stay hydrated and take your time. I can’t wait to go back!

This is a gorgeous breathtaking national park that I had the opportunity to travel to back in 2019 and would love to go back. Every view seem to be more gorgeous than the first. I loved taking pictures here but they didn't do justice to the immense beauty. It's God country and would highly recommend going here if you hare ever in the area or just make a trip here to see it and hike the area.

20 stars!
Been here many times and it never gets old. Always something new. This time we went in June and there was still snow and ice out in places. Some roads were still closed at the top.
We wanted to see as much as possible and the waterfalls were on my list.
Wear good shoes/boots, take a camera and a jacket. Then just dive in and discover nature at its most beautiful. Literally every turn had something to offer.
I'll let the photos convince you :-)
Ps- pets NOT allowed. Wheelchair accessible mostly but not to good viewpoints.
Price is $30 per car or free if you have the Washington National Park Pass.

Visited the South side of the National Park in a couple of hours, didn't have enough time to hike much, but saw a couple different waterfalls, used some restroom, and made it to the top of the MT.Rainer base at the Paradise Inn Lodge with a dinner hall, rock fireplaces, Grand Hall, little cafe, gift shop, and 123 rooms costing either $180 or $260 per night with incredible breathtaking views. Great place to getaway, get some fresh air, and go on an adventure with breathtaking views and hiking trails!

Beautiful park! Mount Rainier is a stunning volcano towering amongst the landscape. The winding road throughout the park is so fun to drive with lush greenery for that quintessential “Washington” vibe. The clouds cleared today to reveal a bright sunny sky with stunning views. This was my second time here and just as amazing as the first!
Alycia McDuff — Google review
It was so much better than I even expected. The easily accessible hikes are pretty easy and super beautiful. The drive up to paradise is stunning and I loved all the view points. The entrance fee was $30 for a normal sized car. The roads are of course full of curves so drive carefully.
Elsie D — Google review
I will be back when the snow melts. We went peak snow days when the snow was up all the way up to their second floor of the visitor center and all the roads after that were closed. But it was absolutely amazing. Coming from Georgia where it barely snows and even if it were to, they either don't stack or doesn't last longer than a day, it was so refreshing to see so much snow and the mountains themselves were beautiful.
There are native birds there too that will fly up really close to you. It was such a great experience.
Also, make sure you have snow chains ready because they will check at the gate during snow seasons.

Mount Rainier National Park is a place of breathtaking natural beauty and awe-inspiring magnificence. Located in the state of Washington, it is home to the iconic Mount Rainier, a towering stratovolcano that dominates the landscape and captivates visitors with its majestic presence.

One of the most scenic drives I’ve been on—I’ve been to most of the lower 48. This park is massive, not overly crowded and a nature photographers paradise. All times of day, all lighting, it just stands out like one giant masterpiece of snowy peaks and lush wooded passes. If you get the chance to go, do not hesitate.

STUNNING. This was one of my best days on my trip nor my life. I loved the climbing and site seeing in this park. this is one of the best parks in the US and my favorite by far, maybe almost as good as Yellowstone. The amazing views from this mountain are so amazing and the multiple areas to go off and explore for your self are just as good.
Kyle — Google review
Mount Rainier is spectacular, with all the gorgeous views for which you might hope. Paradise Visitor Center is very well done, with great information, a good film, and a handy base for the nearby day hike trails. The trails themselves are well kept and well marked. We encountered a ranger who was literally shoveling steps in the snow to make passing through easier.
Bret Fynewever — Google review
Easily one of my favorite national parks for the vertical hikes, wildflowers, and the meeting of rock and flowing water.
The paradise loop hike that goes through panoramic point is a top to hike two hike of all time for me (most pictures from there).

Breathtaking park. We went in the middle of October and the weather was perfect. Some of the roads were already closed, as well as some of the ranger stations. Overall a very good park.
Krystal Woda — Google review
Holy Moly that’s the most impressive mountain I have ever seen. Whether it’s from Seattle or the base in the park. The drive up to Paradise went through some impressive stands of forest on the way up to many scenic pullovers and waterfalls. I had limited time and chose to hike up the Skyline trail from the visitor Center. Three of my favourite things in the natural world, an impressive mountain, glaciers, and waterfalls. All in one breathtaking view. The trail up was paved but steep. Amazing views in all directions. A gem in the National Park system.
Ron Hebert — Google review
I absolutely love hiking at Mount Rainier National Park. I grew up in Washington, and seeing the mountain in the distance. It is such a majestic place. I moved to Arizona and miss seeing and exploring the mountain.
Chris Knight — Google review
Beautiful park that is a two hour drive ish from Seattle. Be sure to get there early because there will be huge line of people trying to get in. We got there around 9 and it took over an hour to get to the gate. There also might be people along the line trying to sell you some cherries. Place is beautiful but when going in the summer it will be crowded at all the easy to access place which might be a turn off for some. Lots of wildlife to see as you pass by which is really fun
Kelly Low — Google review
Breathtaking! Lots of trails with different difficulties. Very easy to drive around during spring and summer. I went for a picnic but you cannot sit at most sites and eat, so I found a remote spot and had a picnic in my trunk
Huma Farooq — Google review
The mountain was amazing. I went in early August, and it was great. It's a very popular national park, so expect a lot of people, but not very many parking spots. The visitor centers are quite crowded, and the food isn't that great, to be completely honest. The views were nice, and it wasn't that difficult of a hike to get up to the scenic areas. The animals are quite used to people and will approach you regardless of whether you have food or not. But remember to not feed them, because they will start depending on people for their food, rather than naturally scavenging it. If you see any small rock cairns near the river, knock them over, as they are unnatural to the environment. It's fine to build them, just make sure to knock it over after.
DaBaby — Google review
Absolutely amazing! My only regret is that I didn’t have more time. Hiking was incredible and unforgettable.

Must visit places in your lifetime. I couldn't believe my eyes were watching that scenic beauty. The mount rainier is so huge. It was looking so beautiful covered in snow.

A very beautiful park! Very nice views and fun trails. A couple cool waterfalls you can check out if you follow the right trails. I recommend snow shoes and hiking poles when it has snowed.

This museum is absolutely huge.. I spent an hour there and that wasn't even close to enough time. I would suggest planning on 2 hours and it's worth the time. The exhibits are wonderfully put together showing how life was back in the day. Lots of local history and cultural information with great artifacts.. I would suggest this place to anyone who appreciates history..

This museum is not part of the national or state park system. It is a locally-run museum, and admission is only $10 for adults. The exhibits are very well done and informative. It would take almost a whole day to see the whole museum and all it's outdoor buildings. For anyone interested in local history this is a great place to visit.

Had an excellent time with my daughter and her fourth grade class. Anita, our guide (docent), led us through the exhibits and gave us background and context for all of the pieces. Everything was clean, the staff in the gift shop was friendly, and there was a lot to see both inside and out. We appreciated the A/C in the main building and the nicely kept grounds outside. The play structure was fun to have as well (although a little full with so many students).

We were driving and I spotted the open signs. It said they were only open another 30 minutes. I expected it to be a small area we could easily get through. The amazing woman in the gift center worked with us when we realized it was much bigger. Told us all about the Oregon trail program in the summer. We will definitely be back!

Very informative, lots of things to see. This museum was created by families that lived here to preserve the history so there are a lot of items and photos. My favorites were the prison info, the quilts, and finding my great grandfather's donation stone!
Jammie Caryl — Google review
The effort to put activities together for the kids and the ice cream is a plus.
It's a weird and different museum, but you can tell the community cares, in general. Great effort and you can learn.

One of my favorite museums in Washington!
The people who run it are great! I highly recommend it to visit. They put on many interesting and informative living history presentations throughout the year.
Lyle Gleason — Google review
We really wanted to go inside and spend some time inside the museum, unfortunately we've been traveling with our dogs on our quest to visit all of Washington State and the temperature was above 100⁰ so we couldn't leave the dogs in the truck which meant we either took turns to go in or not go at all... we chose the latter and headed back to the picnic area for lunch and get a couple of shots of the artillery equipment. Hope to someday come back without the dogs.

Very nice museum, with excellent, well-designed displays. I'm glad we visited. 😊

I first visited here in 2017 and just had to return. The 22 mile drive is dramatically scenic and views at the visitor center are spectacular. I had an informative discussion with the hosts about water level and evacuation signs...LOL! It's worth the drive at least once in a lifetime.

Great out of the way spot, one way in, one way out, if your there for a good hike, just take the path down river. It will go for many miles, with large canyons and some old home sites to find in the draws. The trail has great views from far above the water to waters edge, good fishing and swimming along the trail. Poison ivy and some rattlers Do reside along this route.
Neat little unknown spot that must be reached from the Ida side!

The hosts weren't friendly and definitely not inviting to their center... but in spite of that i have to give the 22 mile drive through hells canyon to the dam a 5 star... no other place like this on earth... its so big and amazing your mind can't even comprehend what you are looking at... it is a must see if your in the area...

Beautiful place. Lots of twists on the road up but take it slow and even on motorcycle the rocks and gravel are manageable. The view is worth it
Shellie Loop — Google review
This is a wonderous place to visit. If you ate lucky you may see Big Horn Sheep, Elk or Deer on your way in or out and while there you may spot some Bilky Goats on the canyon walls. The road in is 40 mph with some vert tight 20 mph corners and in places the canyon walls lean over the road way.

Worth the drive. Very scenic road leading to the dam/visitor’s center.
Probably one of our favorite stops!

Great place and nice views. Great boating just before the dam. Boat tours come close to the dam on the other side. Long drive to get here and no services. It is not manned. But great place.

Right by the dam. Halfway spot for our jet boat ride. Had a nice lunch. It could use just a little more shade. It was only 107 degrees, so more shade would be sweet.

We got to here by Jet Boat - small little visitor center at the base of Hells Canyon Dam
Payette Lake is a stunning body of water surrounded by dense forests and towering mountains. This glacial lake boasts sandy beaches, fishing opportunities, and boat rentals for visitors to enjoy. McCall, a charming mountain town located just two hours away from Boise, serves as the perfect base for exploring the area's natural wonders. With uncrowded trails, hot springs along the mountainside, and raging rivers to experience nearby, travelers can make the most of their vacation without spending too much time in transit.
This lake is a beautiful gem in Valley County Idaho. The lake is over 390 ft deep and is shaped like a stretched out horseshoe. The peninsula that juts out into the lake is the Ponderosa State Park.
The lake was formed thousands of years ago by a Glacier and sits over the top of what used to be a volcano, which helps to lend to the depths of this majestic and magical beauty.
The north end of the lake is the deepest and the narrows, a large deposit of boulders, separated the north end of the lake from the southern end and is quite shallow until you get past Duck Bay.
Navigation at night isn't recommended unless you know this area well as it has sank boats in the past as some of the gigantic rocks sit just below the surface.
Payette Lake has numerous islands for no bigger than it is. Just past the Narrows to the North is the first, Cougar Island, and is inhabited and totally off the grid. They had to barge the materials out in order to get the project finished. There's a few more islands to the North and east of this attraction. Some are private, so please be mindful when exploring them.
There is a legend of a Loch Ness type monster named Sharlie that lives in the lake and hides in the volcanic tubes that help feed this alpine lake.
This was a sacred place for the Nez Perce that walked these grounds hundreds of years ago, and it's plain to see why.
As always, leave it better than you found it. It took millions of years to make and enjoy 😉.
R. Scherer — Google review
Beautiful place in every season. In the Summer you can go swimming, boating, and even tour the lake with a pedal party boat. I went to Payette Lake just yesterday during the McCall Winter Carnival. Right now, the lake is completely frozen over and hundreds of people are taking walks on it, ice skating on it, and sledding on it. Payette Lake is wonderful in every season!

My favorite lake to visit. The views are breathing no matter where you are and the beaches have soft sand which makes for hours of entertainment for the kids to play. The town of McCall is filled with yummy eateries, unique shops and other random fun things to do! I suggest not missing the collosial scoops in ice cream ally and treating yourself to a spa day at the McCall resort.
Ponderosa State Park is a lakeside recreational area that offers a variety of hiking trails, winter and water sports, and campsites during the spring and summer months. The park has miles of wooded trails and bike paths that lead to rocky beaches with stunning views across Payette Lake. Visitors can enjoy picnics, swimming, and panoramic views from the lookout at Osprey Point. The park offers something for everyone, including tent camping sites, cabins or RVs spots in clean grounds.
Stunning views across Payette Lake, wooded trails lead you to rocky beaches perfect for picnics and swimming. Don't forget your cooler and floaty, the water is clear and the sun is shining.
Dizzy Duzz Ponderosa State Park!

Ponderosa is an awesome place to camp! They have three loops connected to the main road (aspen loop, blackberry loop, and chokecherry loop) blackberry is my person favorite! There’s a volleyball net, a lot of deer that are comfortable with you getting close, and multiple pathways for walks and bike rides! Our family put our bikes in the back of our truck and took them to the top of the scenic drive and rode them down as well and it was fantastic. It’s mostly downhill so you can just enjoy the ride! The lake there is fantastic as well! There’s multiple docks to sit on and plenty of beach space to play on! There’s very kind workers that help out too! In town there’s a restaurant called my fathers places that is a must-go, it’s amazing! We love ponderosa!

Such a beautiful spot to camp. The lake is clear and gorgeous and the grounds are clean as well. Plenty of little spots to camp, either in tents, cabins, or your RVs. The day use area is big and open too.

One of our most favorite spots to camp, tidy and generous camping spots, clean bathrooms, showers, electricity, next to a beautiful lake, close to town, what more can you ask for?

So fun to take the kids to... go here to the state park side vs in town to get to the beach it's still right by eachother but much better views and more space for the kids to play. Going to the beach is just one of many things to do here.
Dawn Shumway — Google review
Definitely worth a stop if you are visiting McCall, one of the best views of the lake. Many trails around different environments if you are looking for a hike, or if you are just looking for the views you can drive straight to the overlook. Cool view of most the lake from the top of a basalt cliff formed by 15,000 year old lava flow.
Kevin M — Google review
This park is really wonderful. We try to go every summer and stay at the cabins, but it can be hard to book them. It usually requires booking exactly 6 months in advance at midnight for holiday weekends. There is nice beach shoreline right behind the visitor center. There are a lot of really great biking and hiking trails all throughout the peninsula that this park occupies. Wildlife are common: foxes, deer, woodpeckers, squirrels, etc. The deer seem a bit too comfortable with being near humans and vehicles, as seen in the pictures.
Tanner Jones — Google review
The park was $7 to enter. There were signs saying no dogs on the beach (though looked like most people ignored that). Bathrooms were nice. Lots of benches and trees and a covered table area.
We didn't stay for camping since online had kinda high pricing, but the campgrounds looked ok with lots of trees.
Sign past the campgrounds on scenic road that RVs and trailers not recommend past that point, and I agree. We had a small RV so made it all the way around, but a bigger rv or one with a trailer, or even a little heavier traffic would have been an issue with the sharp turns and skinny areas of road. Saw a couple deer though. One buck had fun just walking in the middle of the road keeping everyone going 1mph.
Rose Green — Google review
Great campground, lots to do. When the campground is full, please be respectful and courteous to your neighbors, you will be close to them.

Ponderosa State Park is AWESOME! If you're in the area and you don't visit, you are missing out. There are so many places to hike/mountain bike/ paddle. There is something for everyone! The facilities are clean and the staff are wonderful which adds a nice touch to the experience. Highly highly recommend! And make sure you swing by the lookout.

Second time now to enjoy Ponderosa State Park and what a great park. The park itself has many full hook-up RV sites with ample space so your not feeling close to your neighbors. The Park Host was busy blowing pine needles off sites as we arrived. Off season is a nice time to come as you don’t need any reservations, but it is strictly first-come find a site. Ample trails for hiking and biking everywhere!

Nice park! Couldn't believe it snowed, sleeted, rained, and got a few hours of sunshine during the 3rd week of June over a 4 day stay. Only had water and power... no sewer, but there was a dump station.
Mark Messing — Google review
We hiked Fox Run and Huckleberry loop. It was 5.43 miles and not too many bugs. Lots of shade, but some open sunny spots, too.
Series of naturally heated pools with mineral-rich waters, tucked away amid pine forest.
What a neat little piece of heaven in the woods. It was our first time visiting and it was delightful. The drive up was nice. The dirt forest road was a little rough at some parts but easily managed even in our Toyota Camry.
The weather was pretty hot so we were grateful that this hit spring had several tiered pools, each descending pool was a little cooler than the one above it. What a great concept and design. It allowed us to navigate pools based on our desired level of comfort. The polls also provide a fun variety of design. Large upper pool, a sand filled pool surrounded by soft white sand, small lower pools with stone seats built into the pools. It was spectacular.
They allow you to bring in food for lunch, just don't eat in the pool. There are several tables with umbrellas to use so there was no need to eat anywhere else.
There are changing rooms available in one of the yurts. The main yurt is the entrance, has a small snack selection available as well as drinks, and offers hats and sarongs for sale. I was wishing they had stickers for sale since we like to buy stickers of places we visit, that we like, to add to our converted shuttle bus.
They do require proof of COVID-19 vaccination and a photo ID. The photo ID is not required for children. Photos of your vaccination card can be used if you forget your card, but I'd recommend just bringing it. At first I was curious about the requirement but after visiting I understood. It is run by only a couple people, some are more advanced in years. None of them want to get sick because of the danger but also because of they all got sick they would lose income from having to close down until they were well again. They owners are wonderful. Respect their needs and wishes. They deserve kindness and understanding.
The fee to enter is $10/person. Parking is about 100 yards from the entrance. Handicapped parking is right near the entrance yurt.
If you're in the McCall or Donnelly area, make the effort to plan a stop for a few hours at this beautiful gem hidden in the woods.

This hot spring gem is hiding in the forest. The establishment is very clean and much easier to access than the nature hot spring spots. Visited on March 2022, with fee $10 per person. Close on Tuesday, other days hour is noon to 8pm. Might have hard time to reach on phone, but front desk lady is very friendly. The road leads to the hot spring is very bumpy, could be changeling with sedan.

We've been coming to GFHS for years and we love it, it's relaxing and absolutly beautiful. We enjoyed every aspect of our visit except the owner (or the lady at the front desk, not sure if she was the owner or not). We've taken our boys all over with us and we've never been met with such a cold, unwelcoming greeting. She coldly lectured my 13 and 15 year old boys as if they were undisciplined miscreants the moment we walked in the door. They hadnt even said anything. She told them they needed to grow up. The next family tried to walk in and she literally asked them to leave and close the door until she was done. Then the next family came in for their lecture. We were told by the other family she demanded the name of their 2 year old son and kept calling his name and telling him to pay attention to her. It made all of us pretty uneasy. I love the location. And the expectations for behavior aren't unreasonable, but they should hire a kind and warm host or hostess to welcome guests and explain expectations in a better way. It truly had a negative affect on our whole experience.
Enjoy the beauty of gold forks, just be warned about the greeter!

Beautiful hot spring fed pools not far from Tamarack. The road is a little spicy, but that makes it fun. Gets a good crowd on a Saturday but never felt crowded. Was there when it was covered in snow.

A wonderful hot springs! Road going in is pretty rough. Best to drive a 4WD truck. Lots of potholes. But its so worth it! CASH only! Bring towels or $3 towel rental. Bring lock for locker. Need covid vaccination card. I shall return!

Visited this place today around 12:30. On our way here we read a bunch of reviews and they made it sound like the owner was a monster with super strict rules. In reality though none of it really applied. The short list of rules we got when we came here was: Keep it quiet/no horseplay/no throwing sand. That's pretty much it. They didn't ask for any covid vaccine cards. There was also a "no alcohol" sign posted at the entrance but I saw a few bud cans in the trash. You were allowed to bring in your snacks/drinks as long as you didn't consume anything in the actual pools. Tons of tables and chairs around.
The pools were amazing. Everything was really clean and it looks like the owner really cares about the place. Would come here again if we're ever in the area.

It was amazing with all the pools you can choose from! They need to update their website because it says the Vax is required and it no longer is.
Ashley Rogers — Google review
Nice little place. $10 anyone, no more kids price.
No need for any ID. Cash or check only there. All pools were open when we went today.
One small very hot, then a bigger hotter down from the very hot pool. Then a med warmer pool with sand in the bottom and then three smaller ones that get cooler as you go down.
Kid friendly, just not be rowdy. Can be a little slick on deck with frozen water on them.
It might be a good idea to bring shoes to go from the changing room to the pool as it's very cold

If you go, call ahead to see if the road has been graded recently. That will cut drive time in half and reduce the need to purchase a new vehicle on your way out… also if you want to speak above a whisper go before 4pm when joy is permitted at the pools. I dont recommend bringing children unless they went to finishing school and can walk calmly like they have a book on their head.
Also bring cash, as there are no other forms of current earthly payment accepted. However I bet they would trade rare crystals for entrance.
Arrive earlier than you desire so you have time to sit for the pre-pre-entrance video explaining the rules in 3 languages repeated 6 times… this is an exaggeration. There one no video, 1 language, no sitting- but the rules being repeated 6 times is true. Rules included (actual words that were said to us)
“Do not touch the sand, play with the sand, do not climb the rocks, do not touch the fences or climb on the fences- there is no screaming, yelling, or loud talking. No splashing, you are to be calm and quiet this is quiet time, you have to stay with your child at all times, they can not enter the upper hot springs, they must remain with you, you can not leave them unattended. You will be asked to leave if they are loud, or splash.” Repeated 6 times. *Because we had an 8 year old with us after 4pm and didn’t stop at the fork in the road to read the rules. Kind of distracted by the axle grabbing pot holes we were navigating to avoid being stuck 40 minutes away from the nearest neighbor in winter while dressed in bathing suits.
Be prepared to be ushered out before closing… (actually that was the kindest the host were to us… )🤔 was upon us exiting the premises.
We passed another family in another SUV on the road. The “pre pre entrance” instructions must have deterred them from even entering the hot springs because though they survived the drive up they opted NOT to come in!!! They were all adults with no children in tow, and were also greeted outside before they could even make it inside to pay they got a spiel about how they were closing in an hour.
While I was grateful the host let in the 8 year old during “quiet time” so we could stay and try to enjoy the 40 minutes we had left to sit quietly. The surroundings were quite beautiful, the adult pool was the hottest water but we only enjoyed it a few minutes before departed due to fear of leaving a child unattended (there were 4 teenagers that could have watched her).
Needless to say, while we enjoyed our time with our out of town friends, (we left with jokes and stories that will become memories forever.) We were not relaxed. We were on edge.
I can see how this would be enjoyable under the right circumstances but that wasn’t our experience. And to top it off one of the staff was smoking outside. (while signs were posted that there was no smoking) this was a “clean air zone” so no idling vehicles were permitted hence they have you park a 1/10 of a mile down the hill and you are to walk up to the springs after dropping off your party.
Enjoy the hot springs! Lol

Friendly staff, loved that they help protect us against COVID. We are fully vaccinated! Water was wonderful. Relaxed atmosphere. It snowed on us and then cleared before we left. So beautiful ❤️
Kris Rebiero — Google review
Firstly, yes, they are requiring everyone have a vaccination card. However, this means that if you’re traveling in the area and DO have a vaccine card you get a beautiful, clean, natural hot springs almost to yourself! The staff was constantly working to make sure all of the walkways were clear and ice-free in the cold temperatures. We were allowed to bring in a couple bottles of water. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The change room is heated and private. Overall a very pleasant experience and we will be back!

We stayed in Cascade during a cold front, unfortunately. Gold Fork Hot Springs saved the day! We had so much fun soaking in the hot springs. We had to stay in the top two (two warmest) springs because of the weather, but I would love to come back in the heat of the summer and have a picnic at the sandy pool! The water had lots of hair and wasn't the cleanest.. but you gotta deal with the bad when it comes your way...
Christy Harris — Google review
Gold Fork Hot Springs was great! It was easy to get to, park and not a terrible walk to find the pools. However I wouldn't suggest it for those with disabilities or not steady on their feet as there were 2 steep hills to go up and down with little traction.
On our venture down the hill we ended up finding another separate pool from the main hot springs and had the whole thing to ourselves for awhile. We were told it was shallower than the other pools but the privacy and peacefulness was nice, since the the main hot springs was quite busy that day. Which we somewhat expected since it was Labor Day.

Fabulous!!! The lady at check-in was very friendly and social. Happy to explain the accommodations and what is exceptable and what isn't. I'm sure because someone has done it before. They have an extremely nice clean place. Very large hot pool with cooler pools if you wish. Small but nice changing area and 3 honey buckets that are well maintained. Such an amazing experience. I'm excited to go back.

You should call ahead to see what the roads are like because when we went, we didn't have a real four wheel drive and the dirt road was really really bumpy with lots of big holes.
Plus, they only take cash and checks. No debit/credit cards accepted. Thank goodness we had our checkbook because we didn't have enough cash on us. The cost is $10 per person. There is a 2 hour swimming limit, which helps keep the pools from overcrowding.
You have to walk a little ways on an uneven dirt road from where parking is allowed. So, I would say that it is not very handicap friendly.
Great scenery, and it was worth the drive. The pools and walking areas are kept very clean.
Outside individual plastic bathrooms 🚻 available. Men's and women's dressing was in a large round yurt tent.

Used to be a nice place. During the covid scare they forced every one who wanted to swim in the spring to be vaccinated. Recently they have opened their doors to every customer once again because money is low. Wont be coming back again as I am seen as "unwelcome"

Great place to visit if the roads aren't too bad. Escape to the hot springs. Water is various temperatures by pool. Semiautomatic control of flow, changing area, limited food options however. Make sure you have 4x4 vehicle in the winter months as the road gets pretty bad sometimes.

I just visited this place and they do not require a proof of vaccination. They don't have access to their website to change it. Staff was very friendly the place was so peaceful and relaxing. If you have loud noisy kids I wouldn't recommend it as they are going for a more chill vibe.

Had a wonderful experience at Gold Fork Hot Springs for the afternoon. Facility is clean and well cared for and we appreciated the small touches in the office. Don’t get caught up in the COVID debate from the website, no mention made whatsoever. Website just hasn’t been updated. Bit of a drive in off the highway but we’ll worth the visit.
Planes & flying memorabilia from WWI to the jet era are on display at this aviation museum.
I visited for the Kilroy Coffee event and had the wonderful and fleeting opportunity to meet and listen to several WWII veterans share their stories. I also met with many other veterans that served our great nation. The museum is great to walk around and just immerse yourself in history...not to mention, the team at the Warhawks Museum records Veterans stories so that they are preserved. We saw a safe that had thousands of discs, each representing a veteran.

Just 20 min outside of boise. $14 entrance fee for adults. Worth it! We spent about 1.5 hours but could have spent more. A lot to read through. Many personal artifacts donated to make this place come to life. Local history. Planes to look at. Planes are functional and we learned they fly out every year in August. Many items in the gift shop. Restrooms in site. Wheelchair handicap accessible.

This museum has a large collection of military history from people who served from the state of Idaho. Their plane collection is small, but the aircraft on the display are well maintained and still flown. They have 1 of 3 still flying P51c variants in the world.
There are two P40 Warhawks that have a list of Hollywood credits to their name as they were featured in several movies.
The main part of the museum is stories, posters, and gear used in the military from WW1 to Vietnam. There are plans we were told to add a 3rd wing to the museum with 2 more aircraft and stories/history from Vietnam to today.
Paul or docent was very knowledgeable and great with the kids. As we walked to the different displays, he shared the stories of the people they featured, which was fascinating (for the adults that is). The kids were more interested in the large gift shop, of course, that had a great selection of shirts, aviation centric gifts, and toys.

A good American military museum preserves the tools of war but a great American military museum preserves the stories of the great Americans who used those tools to fight for freedom! This museum, so marvelously managed by Lou and his staff, is a jewel in the Idaho Treasure Valley. Take time to visit. Prepare to be amazed!

This museum is definitely worth visiting if you are in the area. I recommend visiting on a day when you have plenty of time to spend here as the museum has a LOT of interesting exhibits that you will want to take your time looking at and reading about. The volunteers that work here are a wealth of information! Larry took me around and explained so many exhibits to me, as well as told me stories that I would otherwise never known about. The volunteers are happy to talk to you about all of it! We spent about 2-3 hours here and didn’t even make it a quarter of the way through the whole museum! There is a gift shop that you enter and exit through where you can purchase some souvenirs. Will make sure to visit again on a day when we can see the entire museum! Highly recommend visiting!

What a great collection of WWII memorabilia and aircraft! The museum is a must see if you are in the area. The air show was like being in a time machine. The old fighter planes, the folks in period dress and the knowledgeable announcers made the day complete. The addition of the F-35 Demo Team was pretty cool too. Highly recommended!

We absolutely loved Warhawk. The way they have the displays set up is awesome. Each display case has a binder that tells the life story of the veterans who donated the items. They have tons of reading material all around the museum, from training manuals to action reports to love stories. For the kids, they have a scavenger hunt throughout the museum. The staff was also very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. We spent 2 hours going through and could have spent the whole day. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Warhawk Air Museum, for everything you do for our veterans.

Thank you to everyone at the Warhawk Air Museum for putting together such an incredible collection of planes, vehicles, articles and artefacts.
The volunteer staff here were so generous with their time and offered up their personal connections with some of the exhibits here - it was truly an honour to listen to someone like Jim Dennis recount stories of his fathers time flying P-51’s over Mt Suribachi. As we move further away from the 1940’s it is more important than ever that we keep these veterans’ stories alive.
If you are in the area - make a stop to the Warhawk air museum you won’t regret it
Such an awesome place! We had our church youth group so the ropes course and rafting. This family-owned business was SO accommodating. Package included ropes course, which was amazing, lunch, and then whitewater rafting. Their facilities are great and include lockers to keep your things safe, picnic tables, lots of grass to relax, souvenir shop, and overall fun staff. The photos they took of the group turned out great too. Highly recommend for family, church, or corporate retreat.

This was the absolute best adventure we could have picked on our vacation to Boise. We are from Texas, so while we float rivers in tubes, we don't really have white water rafting. Our family ranged in age from 7-66 and every single one of us had a fantastic time. Our guide Derick.... Let's just say he was awesome!!! We truly cannot say enough good things about Cascade Raft and Kayak. If we are ever back around here, we will absolutely do it again! The pictures are the ones we took ourselves, the ones taken by Calvin (bus driver/photographer) were absolutely stunning!

The lunch and atmosphere of the entire trip from the bus to the boats/rafts, and beyond was truly top notch.

Our family has been floating the Main Payette with friends for years, but this was our first experience using a guide or doing the South Fork, and it could not have been a better experience.
Prior to the excursion, Cascade kept in touch through frequent emails letting us know what to expect and how to prepare. The morning of, the staff was very friendly and let us know what to expect. The bus ride up to the put-in site wasn't bad at all (one of the guides provided comic relief and commentary along the way). After getting geared up and going through a safety briefing, we split into our boats, meet our guides and hit the river.
What really made this trip incredible was our amazing guide, Amparo "AJ". She is AWESOME! She knows a ton about whitewater, the local flora and fauna, history of the river, interesting sites along the way, (and Tolkien)! She shared her knowledge, gave great feedback, and made the entire trip amazing. We are definitely planning another trip with her!
The entire day was perfect. We had a great lunch, complete with appetizers (prepared by our guides), stops for photos and river jumping, and another entertaining bus ride (with drink service) back to the Cascade office. All in all, we had a wonderful day with stories and memories we will cherish for years to come.

We had the best time rafting! Our guide was so funny; he had quite the script of jokes up his sleeve. The fun literally started from the moment we got on the bus and didn't end until we climbed off the raft. (I'd compare his jokes to the jungle cruise at Disneyland. Cheesy but totally deserving of a laugh.) This was my first experience whitewater rafting and all of their staff made me feel secure and safe. They did a great job educating us about water safety before we got on the raft. Such a great time!

A wonderful choice of organizations to raft with. Safety is their primary objective. Two different guides checked our safety devices at least twice each. And that proved imperative when the only adult who could not swim fell overboard on a level three rapid. Our guide showed his skill by instructing the other participants how to paddle back and get us up the rapids, rescuing him & bringing him back into the boat safely. The place is very organized with free lockers for your clothes and valuables & easily accessible restrooms and changing facilities. The front staff is helpful and courteous. The guides are very well versed in their kayaking skills through rapids and a lot of fun with entertaining jokes and anecdotes along the way. We selected the half day level two/three rapids and was very pleased with the journey. There is a very nice patio for relaxing and having a beer, or bringing sandwiches out from their cafe. Overall a very enjoyable day.

I HIGHLY recommend that if you want a great adventure to check out Cascade Raft & Kayak.
Upon arrival, the guides help us select the gear that we wanted to wear (wet suits, dry wear, etc.). Then we hopped on the bus for a trip up the mountain to our drop off location.
Midday, all the guides stopped at a central location and made everyone lunch. Can I say that I was extremely impressed with what they prepared and served. Appetizer - lunch - dessert was on the menu.
**they were very environmentally friendly with trash bags and direction of saving the cans for recycling**
Towards the end, we ended up at a jumping rock and it was so much fun.
This company has a great team behind them to make your adventure unforgettable. Our guide MEGAN was amazing and I recommend that you ask for her!!! But I am sure that regardless of who you get, you won't regret your trip.

✨Unforgettable Experience✨
I searched around and compared different rafting companies on the Payette River and ultimately decided on this company - and it lived up to all the reviews and exceeded my expectations.
We rafted half day (3.5hrs) the Lower South Fork of the Payette River. There were three level 4 rapids and one level 3 rapid. The highlight was the staircase rapid that was 0.25mi long level four rapid!!
✨Amazing Guides - we had a friendly, very experienced, and professional guide. He was personable and very knowledgeable of the river. He had experiencing rafting in multiple countries for 10+ yrs!
✨Perfect Trip Length - we chose to do the half day trip, and that was the perfect length! There were times of chill floating and times of very thrilling rapids!
✨Great pictures - They provide high quality professional photos for $75 for all photos (they took 18 pictures of my raft). You can also choose to buy individual photos for a lesser price.

Highly recommended!!! Cascade Raft & Kayak were very accommodating to our 24 person party. They sent us a link and each person was able to sign up and pay individually. Everything is included in the full day trip to include a pretty good lunch on the river. The guides are excellent and were a lot of fun. A photographer will follow the boats via the land and take pictures of you hitting rapids. I highly suggest bringing a GoPro that can connect to a helmet mount for your own boat pics.

The stunning Idaho State Capitol building is a 100-year-old neoclassical marvel that attracts tourists from all over the world. The building's architecture is inspired by some of the most iconic neoclassical buildings in Europe, such as St. Peters Basilica in Rome, St. Pauls Cathedral in London, and the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. The Capitol's rotunda features an impressive 208-foot tall dome that is a beautiful sight to behold!
So amazing and beautiful! Definitely worth checking out if you’re in Boise. You can walk around and see the building. They have a lower level that has a lot of history and information.

I enjoyed visiting the Idaho State Capitol over Memorial Day weekend. Luckily for us, Tank and I were the only ones there. After getting some great pictures around the grounds and appreciating the beauty of the architecture, we ventured to the front steps for even more photos. Due to this being an impromptu stop, we headed on our way to find leash-free doggo zones to run and play at instead of walking around the capitol.

I came here with my 4th grader and his class and got a really great tour with an awesome tour guide (Jim)... since I had toured the capital 35 years ago, it was an amazing experience with my boy... The history of the capital is quite fascinating as well as the history of our state... although a few parts I remember aren't accessible anymore... The experience is still top-notch and makes you proud to be an Idahoan... The building not only carries the history and weight of Idaho and the challenge of governing for the people.. The building is also a work of art and has a lot of really neat custom trade work on display... a testament to the working man and his craft... all in all a really great expirence and fun day...

Such a beautiful, clean, well-kept Capitol building! The architecture was exquisite. Loved learning about the history… how it was structured with sandstone from Table Rock, that the Old Penitentiary prisoners hauled in.
From the statues, to the breathtaking marble & pillsrs, inside and out, this is truly an Idaho treasure to behold. Be sure to read about Teddy Roosevelt’s part to play in Idaho’s history!
Great place to bring out of town visitors when they come to stay with us.
After we visited, I purchased a book for my children: “Ida Explores the Capitol” by Lori Otter (former First Lady of Idaho). It was an excellent read and perfect for parents & teachers alike.

I stayed at the Park Center Marriott and walked the Green Belt on my visit twice, once w a friend who brought her dog. We entered through the parking lot by the Refuge at Park Center. The path was paved for probably a mile and then was a dirt path but well maintained. There were lots of people walking dogs. You could walk down in the river bed in many spots to take photos. We saw tons of hawks, geese, and my friend saw a bald eagle. Apparently it’s a great spot for bird watchers who know other birds. People were very friendly and dogs were most on leashes and had good recall. You’d want boots on the dirt path this time of year as it had icy spots and was a little muddy but not bad. There were garbage cans along the path and people kept the area pretty free of trash.

Such a lush vegetated place to walk or ride your bike. I walked the entire path then rode an electric scooter back to my car. The Spin app is so affordable and I got back very quick.

We did the green belt from the stadium to Eagle. It is the prettiest stretch of the system. We saw owls, deer, beaver marks, and of course goslings. Beautiful riding.

I'll never travel to Salt Lake City without this trip planner again
The Old Idaho Penitentiary Site is a museum that features 30 historic buildings with special exhibitions and self-guided walking tours. This attraction was once home to a number of notorious Idaho criminals, and provides a fascinating experience for visitors.
Very informative tour guide.
Our guide was very animated with his stories about the prisoner life. Some of his stories have me goosebumps.
After the tour when everyone left, we asked about if there have been any paranormal events. That's when it got really interesting.
Highly recommended.

It was a great experience and completely worth the $2 additional for the guided tour. The guides are highly knowledgeable and have some great stories about the penitentiary and some of the former "guests".
The unrelated historical weapons display and tour is fantastic. All donated by a private collector, there's everything from colonial days through Vietnam. There are some really rare pieces in the collection. Worth a visit.

We did the self guided tour. It was fascinating and some great history here. The Rose Garden was beautiful. Be sure to check out the J. Curtis Earl Memorial Exhibit. Great information in there, too. On my next visit, I will do the guided tour.

This was a great museum and exhibit of the Old Penitentiary. They had a vast amount of history, including statements on a video from old inmates. Some of the stories were horrific though. There were artifacts, photos and written history, as well as walking through some of the old cells. It was very interesting. Employees are very polite and friendly. There is also a gift shop. There is another museum called the J Curtis Earl Weapons Exhibit, on the same grounds and it is FREE (or included in the price). This museum is also very interesting. It contains information, photos, artifacts, uniforms, videos and weapons from several American wars, including: Spanish American War, World War I, World, World War II.

This was a great stop while visiting the area. There was a wealth of history here and tons to see. The gentleman that greeted and sold us our ticket didn’t mention the women’s building or other sights so we wish we would have familiarized ourselves before arrival to better use and spend our time. It’s easy to lose yourself while on a self guided tour if you’re into history. Regardless, we really enjoyed ourselves and it was kiddo and stroller friendly so the whole family could partake. We will be revisiting when in the area again and hope to catch the cemetery tour when they host it (only once a year) and spend more time in the women’s building. We bought a few books from the gift shop and the added information is incredible.

So awesome! So much history. Plus so much to explore. Best part is they let you your the prison by yourself, and have information plastered all over the place. Definitely worth the price. Gift shop is a tad speedy. But overall an amazing experience😁

Awesome place to wander the grounds and learn a little history. The weapon museum on site is awesome as well! Dusty grounds and some stairs if you're feeling adventurous, so I don't recommend wearing sandles. Spent about an hour and a half here to see the main structure but there were more surrounding buildings we didn't get to.

We bought our tickets online and then paid for the tour in person to see what times they have. We are glad we bought the tour and highly recommend it. It is really affordable for all of the information we heard. Danielle was our guide and she was amazing, she had lots of cool facts and answered all of our questions.

This was worth viewing once for sure. It was interesting to check out all the buildings and learn a bit more about it. I was somewhat disappointed that the gift shop didn't have more items that fit the penitentiary theme. The price was right for a visit, though, and the map they provided made it easy to guide ourselves around the facility. There were a couple of school groups, but we weren't bothered by them. The flower gardens on the grounds were amazing...roses, orchids, poppies. We enjoyed our visit!

Had a great time visiting during Halloween weekend. Lots of great history here. I would highly recommend going. You can have a guided tour or just free roam on your own too.

Wasn't open due to Halloween weekend evening events, but looked pretty cool from the outside. The Women's Ward was open & had very good historical information & stories.
Only here for a day, but would've loved to get the guided tour!

Well worth the $8 ticket price! The penitentiary offers a look into it's own history. Throughout the buildings there are signs and displays giving the history of each location. The entire site is very well maintained and the relics are in great condition for viewing. It's also really neat to read about some of the prisoners who spent time here. Highly recommend visiting!

I arrived at 4:30pm and there was a "closed" sign in the window. Their website states last admission at 4. I walked the grounds which were interesting. Perhaps inside the visitors center gives more context... but the Warden's house, prison walls, woman's prison and barns/gardens in back are photogenic and free to walk.

Love, love , loved this historical place!! The stories, the buildings! The chow hall and kitchen are being held up with rebar and bolts! The whole place is an experience! The next time we'll have to do the guided tour! Definitely make sure you check out the weapons museum there!!

This place was so incredibly interesting. You really should make the time to get the guided tour though. It wouldn’t have been nearly as interesting if we didn’t opt for this.

This is one of my favorite places to visit when I come to Boise. I grew up here and my grandfather worked here as a guard until it got shut down for a riot. There's always something I haven't seen before when I come here and I don't know why because I've been here hundreds of times. If I lived in Boise I would have a membership I would come that often. It's a must see.
Carol Simmons — Google review
I've visited this site twice now, once just touring throughout the day and the second time at night closer to Halloween when they allowed access to the "dungeon" I really find this place fascinating. They give you a map when you first come in which is extremely helpful. They have informational posters all throughout the buildings giving you all the tea about the history of the buildings and the inmates who served time there. It was very interesting to see. I love that they offer guided tours but they also allow you to self tour the site. I could spend hours there reading about all the inmates and the crimes that ultimately led them there. The price to get in is extremely reasonable. It's a great way to pass the time and have a really cool look into the past. Highly recommend if you happen to be in the Boise area!

This was such a neat experience. Friendly staff and very helpful. Visited in January and a jacket is a must since most everything is outdoors. Spent a lot of time visiting each building. Great for history buffs or to pass the time. Cheap tickets, too.

Had the pleasure of taking a cemetery tour with Leslie. Incredibly informative and engaging. One of my favorite historical venues, and the cemetery tour is 100% worth it. Leslie is a fantastic guide; she is incredibly knowledgeable, and I can’t wait until the next event.
Day spa featuring natural hot spring pools, a steam room, massages & a cafe serving light fare.
I usually don’t post reviews, but we had the BEST time at the Springs for a relaxing day! We booked a private hot springs tub, and it was amazing. The staff was great, it was so clean and nice, and the space is beautiful! Highly recommend :)

I just love this place overall.
It’s a 45-1hr from Boise such a scenic highway passing through a stream of river.
This place is located in between the high trees and mountains.
If you can make a reservation ahead you will have the best experience of hot springs.
As they are natural hot springs they really cannot maintain the temperature they have big pool on the lower temp and the small pool on the higher temps. The place is very well maintained very clean restrooms and changing area. The pool area is very well maintained they do have some snacks which you can enjoy on the chairs or heated yurt.
They do have some cocktails and drinks.
Enjoy the best hot springs in Idaho

I absolutely love going to soak at the springs! Beautiful location! I appreciate that the restrooms, locker areas and showers are kept very clean. I also really enjoyed the orange drink and Greek style appetizers I had. Poolside water and other drinks are available, including alcohol. Very nice private soaking areas. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because we ended up having to wait over 20 minutes past our reservation time to access the facilities (we had to wait outside until we were called in), which cut into our soak time by about 30 minutes. We were not given additional soak time at the end of our time slot and that didn't sit well with us considering we paid for a particular period of time.

We made reservations for a Private Hot Tub which was safe, clean, sanitized and so private ! If the water is too hot --there is a faucet with cold water to cool it down. Very safe area, plants are native & Bee friendly, Hummingbirds buzz around. Drinks & Food items are delivered discreetly
as not to invade one's privacy.

This place is unbelievable. It is purely nirvana. Easily the nicest developed hot springs I have ever been to. Beautiful, new facility with lockers so you can store your stuff. I did the 10:30-1:00 time and it was mostly older adults and no children, no screaming, no noise, no rowdiness. Lovely music, super relaxing. Perfect temperature hot pool and swimming pool. They provide pool noodles for floating fun. And check this out, they serve drinks and food at the pool! Even IPA. I was in heaven. For very reasonable prices. My only regret is that I found this place on my way home and couldn't stay for a week.

I absolutely love this hot spring. Everyone who works here is friendly and attentive.
My only issue is that it's extremely difficult to get reservations once winter hits.
We were finally able to score a private hot tub (in October) and it was gorgeous! They make it feel like a luxe experience - your own check-in table and server.
We also love the big pool. It has different temperatures at different places in it, attentive staff, and a separate hotter tub. All of this is surrounded by beautiful pine trees - gorgeous and relaxing!

Made a reservation for 3, called to see if a friend could tag along. The front desk associate and manager said “soft yes” and “95% chance we’ll let them in.” We didn’t want our friend to drive an hour and a half if they were going to turn them away so they replied “yes tell then to come.”
When we showed up they turned our friend away and refused to let them in. The owner came out from the back and was extremely rude. They claim it’s due to full occupancy but they’re still functioning in Covid times so their giant pool definitely had space for the one more they told us we could bring.
The pool and hot tub are nice but dealing with the crazy owners isn’t worth it. I’d drive a little farther to actually relax.

This place only takes reservations, to limit crowds, and also to probably reduce refusing people. We stayed at The Pines the night before and was able to get a reservation for us 5 because of our hotel stay. The sauna/steam room was closed, they are not open during the evenings (which is my favorite), and you’re not allowed to use the hair dryer when there’s an excess of people in the changing room. We brought our own towels. They don’t lend towels due to covid. I believe some are available for purchase. It was clean, the service was really good, the staff are very professional and friendly. The menu items are delicious, drinks are super yummy! It was a beautiful day. The water was perfectly warm and clean. I’ll go again!!

Visiting from out of town and our friends took us here for a morning swim. We appreciated that they seem to cap the reservations so the pool/hot tub isn’t too crowded. The Huckleberry lemonade was truly incredible-light and refreshing! Several water coolers were sitting out for usage as needed. Wish there was a bit more to the place as not everyone can handle sitting in a hot pool for two hours— but it’s either sit in the pool or sit on the pool deck. More spa services would be a draw to come back. Reservations required and they go fast. As of Oct 2022, $23/adults. Overall, a good concept that has the ability to be great.
Lindsay Bird — Google review
Pool was clean and the outside service staff was friendly and quick. We also booked a private tub and that tub was very clean. The amount of time was perfect. Water in the private tub was pretty warm and their cold water supply to the tub was still winterized so we weren't able to cool it down at all which wasn't a problem to us. That might be something that people who are sensitive to the hot water should keep in mind if booking a private tub. This wasn't something we were told until we walked into the private tub area to start our hour.
Melissa H — Google review
Bring your own towels or pay $9 a towel and bring your own blow dryer.
It’s more of a public pool than a spa.
The excuse is they don’t have enough staff to wash towels. But what about a blow dryer? It’s a cheap amenity.
The water is great. The place location is awesome. If you were a regular but haven’t been in a while, just know they raised the prices and reduced the amenities.
The staff was annoyed when I said I didn’t know about the towels. She said it was in my email. I have gone there so many times, I didn’t read the fine print. It should be a check mark on the booking page.

My husband and I loved our private hot tub at the springs! Definitely a little piece of heaven for an hour with snacks delivered right to you. Everyone was so nice and the entire place was very clean. We can't wait for them to get massages back so we can book a full day!

The springs is an amazing destination, if you’re ever in in around the treasure valley in Idaho. I live locally and took the day to go there with my girlfriend. The facilities are lovely - However, they were adopted a strategy of adding a tip line to your admission fees. I don’t like it. I pay you a fee to get into the facility and you want me to tip you on top of that?? That’s just dumb business. The service poolside was amazing and I was more than pleased like five star plus pleased with the service provider. That’s the service I want to tip. I don’t want to tip a business to let me into your business. Really irritating and unnecessary.

Amazing experience! My husband and I booked a private tub and it was incredible! The space was relaxing and peaceful. Well worth the extra few dollars. We each ordered a drink which was delicious and efficiently delivered to our private area. They provided a jug of ice cold spring water which was also much appreciated. Highly recommend The Springs at Idaho City.

This is perhaps the most upscale hot springs in Idaho and feels more like a pool at a Cancun resort than any of its Gem State comparisons. The good: the water was just hot enough, the facilities are well built and aesthetically pleasing. The bad: their reservation system created a bottleneck upon entry—we arrived at 7:30 to find the other 50 or so guests waiting to get checked in at the same time. With just two computer terminals to check in guests, it took 15 minutes or more to get through the system. The wait staff coming and going around the pool serving guests was a distraction to the overall ambiance of the scene—at times it felt like we were in a busy restaurant with wait staff explaining food, drinks, where to eat, etc. I suggest The Springs allow people to access a bar somewhere instead of poolside service.
If you like the upscale resort feel, world beat music in the air, wristbands and servers, this is your place. If you want a more typical Idaho soak, head elsewhere.
Craig Wolfrom — Google review
We went to the public pool and it was nice to be in such a serene place. It was also awesome to have poolside food and drink services with alcohol options as well as free ice water around in different locations. You can't bring your own alcohol or food but the choices they offer are fair. If you are really hungry, eat before you go. The food is light.

Wonderful place to have a day trip with friends and family. The warm water was perfect, with snow in the distance. The ability to have an adult beverage while soaking was fabulous. Definitely need reservations ahead of time. Tickets seem to sell out well in advance.

I enjoyed the springs from the moment I arrived. The staff was cordial and welcoming. The hot tub was nestled against the hillside which provided privacy, and a splendid view of pine trees and wild flowers. Then, before swimming in the pool I took in all the activities taking place. It was a friendly atmosphere with people laughing, swimming, and enjoying their libation.

Love going to soak at The Springs in Idaho City. Private or main pool are so nice. Reservations are a must, but we really enjoy how they limit the occupancy, so it's not so crowded. Always enjoy the poolside drink and food service. The facility is well maintained and always clean. Definitely will keep going back.

Such a clam & pleasant place to relax and enjoy the Hot Springs water. We booked a private hot spring tub. Was the best thing to do in Idaho. The place was so clean and neat ( they kept cleaning the restrooms and shower area), staffs were very friendly . Will be visiting back soon!

What a glorious place to spend visiting with friends in the warm water! Also a hot tub and Sauna, food and drinks delivered to the poolside and the main pool warm enough to be comfortable. We loved it.
Call ahead for a booking, it is usually full. You can get mornings or afternoons. A bit spendy but upper class all the way and worth the splurge!

There are spies among us 👀
Where to even begin…what was supposed to be a fun overnight retreat with our adult children turned into a very disappointing experience. We booked a cabin at the Inn at the Pines and a hot springs soak at The Springs. We had a nice dinner at a local restaurant and then spent an hour or so at our cabin before heading to The Springs. Shortly after checking in to the springs my daughter and her girlfriend went to get wrist bands to order adult beverages at the pool. They were denied wrists bands and were told they could not be served for at least an hour because someone informed the springs that “you all were partying at the cabin”. If playing family board games and laughing is considered “partying”, I guess we are guilty. My husband and I went to talk to management. In a very calm tone we asked them to explain this rational. They could not or would not tell us the reasons why. They did admit this was probably a misunderstanding and allowed us to get wrist bands for drinks. My husband ordered a drink but when my daughter and her girlfriend went to order, the server said no, she is uncomfortable serving them. Is this because they are gay? They told us they would monitor our behavior for an hour and then would consider serving us. We obviously left at that point after being in the pool for less than 15 minutes. We asked for a refund and were denied. Very poor customer service, unbelievably bad experience.

Our first time there and a wonderful experience. Nestled into the tress is the close and scenic drive out of Boise to the Springs. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. The grounds on a cool winter evening were beautifully lit and inviting. Our private pool was serene and romantic. Drinks and nibblys were available to order. The tub temperature was fantastic. We can't believe we hadn't been before and we can't wait to go back!

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! My family and I were so excited for a little weekend spa trip to Idaho City. When we got to The Springs everything went down hill. We got changed and headed to the pool to relax when we realized we should go get our wristbands for drinks. We were denied wristbands because quote “we were informed you had been drinking prior to coming here.” We were very confused as we had not been drinking nor were we acting intoxicated. They were speculating that we had been drinking and would not tell us who said that or where they saw us drinking. Because this was a lie. My parents disputed with the front desk and they concluded that it was a misunderstanding. We got back in the pool with our wristbands and wanted to order a drink. COFFEE! not even alcohol. When the server came over, she said that she didn’t feel comfortable serving us and that we needed to “drink some water and sober up.” She also said that she would come back in an hour and serve us “if you are on your best behavior.” She didn’t even ask us what we wanted to drink and we were going to order coffee. After disputing with the manager on site, she said that we did not noticeably look intoxicated but the server still won’t serve us. We decided to leave after barely soaking in a LUKE WARM pool. They also didn’t not give us a refund and all the staff there was rude and condescending. Will not be coming back and highly DON’T recommend going to The Springs.

Edit-They did refund my money to be fair after I wrote this review and called several times trying to get through to a manager who I never was able to speak to.
We brought my MIL, who is visiting from the east coast, to celebrate her birthday. We reserved a private tub weeks ago. We were so excited to share what we thought would be an amazing day with her. We even took PTO off of work for the afternoon to get there at the available time.
We drove over an hour to get there and when we arrived we were denied access to our reservation as we had our infant with us. Our infant was obviously not going to use the tub as that's not safe! We were going to take turns soaking and tending to our baby girl. They refused us access to our reserved tub, were extremely rude about it and then had the nerve to charge us for the tub anyways. We wasted not only our time, PTO and gas and they still charged us for a service we didn't even have the opportunity to use! Unbelievable! We will never come back to this establishment and will never refer anyone else here. Thanks for nothing.
We could not have asked for a better experience. Trail rides for the whole family!! Caleb and his team (Chase & Dani) did a wonderful job and our crew had a blast. Thank you for helping us make some great memories this summer.

Accountability and communication can go a long way. Just got back from a drop camp hunt with this outfitter. Caleb abandoned us on the day we were supposed to be packed out. He stopped communicating with us mid week of our hunt when we asked for the timing on pack out. We had to haul hundreds of pounds of gear out on our own. 2 people. 4.5 miles. His only response was “I sent someone Friday to get you out”. Our contract says Saturday and all he had to do was text to make this a complete non issue. I think he was over booked with his guided side. In a situation like that all you have to do is apologize and be accountable. We are pretty reasonable people. He’s never reached out or said another word since leaving us stranded. $3,000 for tent and pack in/pack out. And he couldn’t even reach out? I would avoid this outfitter at all costs. But our bad experience with him can’t ruin the beauty of the sawtooth wilderness and the great time we had hunting there. I still highly recommend it, just skip the outfitter and camp at the base trails. Or pack yourself in… we just found out it’s humanly possibly (although not recommended). 😂

We booked a spot trip to Middle Baron Lake with Sawtooth Wilderness Outfitters. It was about a 10 mile ride to the lake and this provided a great riding experience, views of amazing country and the opportunity to spend 3 nights at Baron Lake. Jacob and his family did an excellent job helping us prepare for the trip, kept us safe and dropped us off at a beautiful camp location. Jacob picked us up on our departure date and got us back to the barn. I have been backpacking for 25 plus years and this was my first horse supported trip. I will be back again.

Such a great experience. I surprised my fiance (whom had never ridden before) with a 1 hour trail ride. I may have also remembered having more experience than I actually did. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and truly made feel at ease trotting through the forest with authentic conversation. The horses seemed intelligent, patient and well broke. We can't wait to schedule a larger, linger trail ride in the future.
Redfish Lake is a picturesque location nestled in the mountains, offering visitors a chance to engage in various outdoor activities such as fishing, canoeing, kayaking, hiking and biking. The site also features a lodge for accommodation. For those looking for a unique experience, Redfish Lake Corral offers horseback riding trails through the stunning Sawtooth mountain range at sunrise with experienced guides who know Idaho well. Whether you are a resident or tourist visiting Idaho, this stunning location is not to be missed.
Redfish Lake is a magical lake in the Sawtooth Valley, Stanley Idaho.
The lake is nestled at the base of the jagged peaks of the Sawtooth Mountains and was formed by glaciers years ago.
It has been a travel destination for years due to the hundreds of mountain lakes, trails, hiking, backpacking, camping, rock climbing, fishing and spectacular scenery.
The lake got its name from the Sockeye Salmon that would come to spawn and were so plentiful that it made the lake look red.
The lake is almost 400' deep at its southern end and 5 miles long.
It is used by scuba divers for training because of the unique terrain of the shoreline that drops off dramatically. There are two popular areas for scuba diving.
One of the areas off the beach is Schoolhouse Rock, a 14' in diameter, 20 tall rock that rises up from the bottom to within 20' of the surface. The other is on the southern end where trees that were uprooted from a landslide were deposited upside down at a depth of 80'.
Since the lake is so clear you can actually see them from the surface of the water.
The water is a cool 64 degrees in the summer so you can swim on a warm day. The lake has a gravel bottom lending to its clarity.
As always leave it better than you found it and enjoy 😉

This place is absolutely gorgeous! The water in some of the areas along the coast is stunning. I was on a dog friendly breach with some friends and we had some paddle boards and we had a lovely time. The water was quite cold but refreshing. The only unfortunate thing about this lake is how busy it is. We spent a good 30 minutes or so trying to find decent parking. Everything was packed and made it frustrating.

We've been to the lodge before, but we wanted to bring our adult children to experience Sun Valley. Stayed at the Lodge and the experience was just as good as the last time we visited almost 4 years ago. The outdoor pool is awesome as it's heated to 95 degrees! Visited the SPA and pampered ourselves. Rooms were very nicely updated. We will be back for more of the resort and the skiing.

Classy resort at reasonable off-season prices. Valet and greeters at the main doors are a nice touch. We got a room on the first floor above the bowling alley. which is in the basement. It took a couple of days to realize we are hearing sounds from bowling alley thinking it's maid service rolling their carts around constantly. Luckily the bowling alley closes at 10pm or it would be hard to sleep.

I can’t give my favorite place to go less than a 3 no matter what. Our stay is always amazing but this time was a little disappointing. We had reservations at the Inn but they upgraded us to the Lodge as the Inn was closed. We did not see this until the morning, but next to the bed in the corner was something all over the wall and carpet. I don’t know what, as I did not care to inspect. I told the front desk and they sent someone to clean it up while we were out of the room. The next time I went to the desk and spoke to the man behind the reservation counter, (the one I reported the incident to), he seemed rather cold- as if I had done something wrong. He did not say sorry, thank you for letting us know, nothing. It was as if he thought someone in our party were responsible. I do wonder how in the world the cleaning crew could have missed that. It wasn’t small. I blew that off….we’re here to have a relaxing stay after all. We went to the hot tub and it was closed. The pool was colder than normal- when I asked about the pool temp. I was told it was to accommodate pregnant woman. I was told the maintenance person put too much chlorine in the hot tub so they had to wait until it was at safe levels for anyone to use it. It remained closed until our last day there. Our last day there, I saw a maintenance guy working on it so I asked him if we could use it yet. He put some Bromine in and said yes, let the Bromine stir for 5 minutes then we were able to use it. We and several other folks who had been patiently waiting for several days, got in. Then the pool guy came over and said we had to get out. We told him what the maintenance guy said and he said it did not matter, until he heard from the maintenance guy himself, the hot tub was closed. All parties in the hot tub stayed in so the pool guy started to drain the hot tub and boy did it drain quickly. My question (and everyone else’s) was why didn’t they drain it and fill it back up when this first happened??? Anyway- after that, the hot tub was cold the rest of the time we were there. So no hot tub for us. Sadly, not the best stay we have experienced. We like to go in November because there aren’t any crowds. We won’t be going back to SV in November any time soon.
One last weird thing that I told the front desk about. I used the stairwell to go between floors to get ice. There was silverware in a large pile next to the door on the floor, in the stairwell. Just a little weird, but nothing that would impact our stay- though I did wonder if that could have been a nefarious act by an employee.

Absolutely love this ski resort.
Excellent staff. In my 50+ years of skiing I have never experienced such friendly, kind service. Everywhere I turned when I asked a question or I was trying to find where I was going I was met with friendly knowlwdgable people.
The food at the dining halls was very good Prices were reasonable not too crazy.
This is a beautiful resort and a gorgeous setting. The runs are very nice, and it was great to be at a place where I didn't have to wait a long time in line. Such a great thing considering you pay $200 a day to ski. Many of the runs that need to be groomed or groomed, as it had just stormed the night before
Can't wait to come back!

Don't forget to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ when booking your place. This web site will compare thousands of booking web sites and usually will have prices much cheaper than others! Thank me later! This resort is the best rated in this area. I've been coming here for a very long time. If you stay for a few days you for sure won't be let down.
The ki g room was wonderful. This was off-season and we loved every aspect. Reserve your pool time. The Konditorei restaurant was great.

Beautiful little village with great spots to eat! Konditorei is our top pick for a great breakfast or brunch. Hotel is self is very nice with an ice skating rink right outside in the back. Love the ducks and swans in the front. The downside to staying at this resort for skiing is if you are looking for easy to the slopes you will not find that here. Unless you are skiing dollar mountain for beginners. To the actual big mountain you need to take a shuttle and a bus to get you to the slopes. So be prepared. But overall a very nice resort.

In 40+ years of booking vacation homes I have never had an experience like this. I booked a house last October in person from the manager at the resort and received my confirmation They have called me twice now recently to tell me that the “rate has changed” from $1080 per night to $2,500 per night. What? No mention was ever made that the rate I was quoted was subjected to change. I have the printout from when I booked and also the booking email. They both show the confirmation number, the rate and the deposit paid. Zero mention anywhere that the rate isn’t final. I am so confused and have no idea why they are doing this. The worst part is, this is a trip to the jazz festival for my elderly mother that lost her husband last year and my autistic son that plays the saxophone. I’ve already spend $1,800 on nonrefundable tickets. If this gets cancelled it will break their hearts. This is hands down the worst experience I have ever had with a business. And in my current circumstances it will be rubbing salt into wounds.

I guess I am torn between a only a good review and a great one. The hotel is very nice and staff members have all been friendly. It was our 20th wedding anniversary so I believe we got upgraded to a nicer room. We had a balcony view of the ski resort (no snow) and pool area. I think my gripe is the maintenance of the area. I know it’s an old hotel but the hot tub had missing grout in the tiles. The pool was not cleaned (tons of dead bugs, leaves, etc. all over). The elevator ride is rough. The tub is great. It’s one of those that is deep and water pressure is great too. If I were the designer I wouldn’t have put the shower turn on valve right under the shower head. That can be some very cold water at first. Although we had a great balcony view some of the pavers were either cracked or had chunks missing from them.

Fabulous ladies' getaway! Luxury and so beautiful, with wonderful, friendly staff. Kudos to Maurine at the spa, she gave me the most incredible facial, best I have ever received. The spa shower experience was incredible. Floating in the swimming pool, surrounded snow covered mountains was fabulous. Food (breakfast and dinner)in Gretchens' was perfect and the service was superb. We cannot wait to come back! Thank you!

Outstanding! The fairly recent remodel of the lodge has kept the wonderful feel of the history of this beautiful place at the same time adding to its five-star appeal.
The wonderful diversity of the people working here is the base of Sun Valley Resort's world-class service.

Rooms were great, service was excellent and who could complain about the location. Front desk accounting was absolutely terrible! While my employer's card was used to confirm the reservation and was to have been utilized to pay for the room, the front desk took my personal card, supposedly only to be used for "incidentals" (there were none), and charged my personal card for 1 night of the stay. The employee that took my personal card upon check in had told me that absolutely would NOT happen, yet it did anyway. The hotel manager, just this morning, told me it was company policy to charge the first night's stay for any guest, to their personal card presented for incidentals, this regardless of how the reservation/payment arrangements were to be made. My guess is that the Sun Valley Lodge is running some kind of scam directed to the attendees of larger business conferences such as the one I attended with the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce.

Charming. Comfortable beds. Great bathroom suite. Pool and hot tub set up was fun and relaxing. I visited in March for a conference when there was still snow but just after ski season ended so it was not crowded. Little shops on site are fun but expensive. There’s a nice cafe w delicious pastries and good coffee. Great place to attend a professional conference. I imagine it’s super convenient to ski all day and return to the lodge which is close to the ski resort.

I stayed at the Sun Valley Lodge for a recent business trip. I was scheduled to stay in Room 123. I checked in, went to my room, dropped off my luggage, and went out to dinner. Upon my return, I went into my bathroom and saw the Lodge gave me a complimentary visitor! Thanks Sun Valley for giving me a free support animal for the visit.

The main living area, fireplace, master bedroom and kitchen are very beautiful and comfortable but the second bedroom 🛌 is better for children having only two single beds in a small room.
The kitchen is new and stocked with pans and plates etc. Everything was clean.
The buildings are separated and many of the rooms enter directly to the outside which would be nicer in the summer than in the winter. Fortunately, our room had a small hallway that was heated 😀
I stayed in the small bedroom and it was cold and I could not get the thermostat to change the temperature.
The name of the resort implies that it is at Sun valley ski resort , something I should have double checked, but it is on the other side of town.
There is more to the resort that I didn’t have time to explore.
Over all, this would be a nice room for a small family.
I feel that the value is low, considering the cost and the distance from the resort.
Also, I’m not so sure if the mechanical issue was a problem or Programmed
Overall, I would not discourage anyone from going there since it is a beautiful location.

Historical Sun Valley feel. Great food and drinks amid comfy coutches and chairs, amid fireplaces, if you want to, or a traditional dining area. Very nice hot tub and heated pool. Gym, sauna, and ice skating rink round out the resort. Great staff everywhere and shopping and other dining available at a village 300 feet from resort.

I'm writing this review to express my concern over the safety measures at Sun Valley Resort. I've seen staff members behaving recklessly on the slopes, posing a risk to others. This isn't something you'd expect from a resort that prides itself on being a family-friendly destination. Moreover, the customer service in addressing these issues is severely lacking. Attempts to discuss my concerns were met with indifference.

One of the best hot springs we’ve been to!
We took some advice and booked a private room/pool here and it was incredible. Not only do you have your own space to change but you have your own person hot spring! The best touch is that you can adjust the temperature by turning the knobs to release hot or cold water. One side of the pool is deep and one side is shallow because of the stairs so you can choose how you want to relax. An hour was plenty of time for 2 of us but I would consider booking the pool for longer if I came with a group. Once our hour was up, we went to check out the general admission pools and they were pretty packed with families so getting a room was the best decision we made for the day! Staff was friendly and it felt clean. We can’t wait to come back! It’s also not hard to get to, especially when it’s snowing so we loved the drive! And there’s no hiking! Just pull into the parking lot!

If you have the time to stay the night in one of the domes I HIGHLY recommend it. Me and my wife drove up in the winter time and it was so relaxing. It was a short drive for us since we live in meridian, also a very nice drive up there even at night. We went late at night and reserved a private tub so it was very quite and worth it. The room was very clean and well taken care of, the Dome is such a cool experience and sleeping was without issue.

This is one of my favorite places now that I have discovered it. A true oasis, gorgeous location with big trees on a creek, cute camping, super accommodating with a restroom lobby that is accessible all hours. Newly built, the pools are incredible. The biggest is just the right temperature to stay in for hours and is so deep I could barely stand up. The smaller pools vary in temperature, one of which is very hot. No cell signal at all, but not a far drive to one. Be sure to make reservations. As a senior, it was only $6.36 for the day! That is truly amazing and so welcoming to us older folks. Right down the road from some excellent kayaking and cute towns. Check out Hagerman and Buel (home of Magic Valley Brewing).

One of the best experiences I've ever had with a hot spring. I had a great time kayaking in the river right next to the place and after the tiring paddling relaxing in the hot springs felt great. Very relaxing because there weren't many people at the time. There were 4 different pools with different temperatures so if you don't like it that hot you can go in the big pool. If you like it hot you can even go in the pool under the patio, which was by far the coolest pool. The bathrooms were well managed and clean. There was even an alligator resting in its own spring!

Absolutely awesome. No more RV campgrounds available. The hot springs is really amazing with four different temperatures pools. Reasonable price and highly recommended for anyone just wanted to relax. They also have private pool and they're usually pretty full. If you prefer to use the private pool, highly recommended to call advanced to reserve one. Otherwise public pools is fabulous.

First time visiting an open hot spring! Was well worth the drive from Twin Falls. Facilities were very clean--bathrooms, showers, floors, and the grounds were well kept. My rating is 4/5 because it's not a "luxury spa," and the public pools are more of a "kid's water park...." But the private pools are well worth a visit.
Paige L — Google review
Easily the most relaxing hot springs i've been to. The staff here is almost too nice, and that goes along with the overall vibe of the place. With 4 different pools going up, or down in temp depending on how you look at it. There's too hot, too cold, just right... and then another bonus just right... I was actually comfortable in all 4, i believe the hottest was at 104° while I was there. In one of the medium temp pools there is a cold spring blocked off in the corner which is just big enough to submerge while lying down. Having this option to go from cool to hot is exactly what the physical therapist ordered and some of the best muscle therapy out there. The private pools have deep set benches and enough space for 3(adults) to spread out, 4 would be fine, up to 6/7 could fit, but I'd feel a little crammed after 4/5. With on-site glamping domes, rv sites, and camp sites, this place quickly became a favorite destination of mine. I saw people catching fish in the river that runs by, on my previous stay I dipped my feet in and the water was warm! I can't wait to go back. There's also a wild surprise if you explore a little bit.
Heads up: Your gold may change color with the sulfer and oxygen if you're there long enough. Especially white gold. If you see the photo, my rings are both white gold, turned gold gold after a soak. They have since returned to their former color, but if you don't know, each a chemical change occurs on a physical element, it breaks down at least a little bit.

My husband and I have been coming to this hot springs for years, and have always loved it! The pools are clean and well kept, the facilities are clean, and the domes, which we have stayed in twice now, are super cozy and worth the money!
Our biggest complaint now, however, is they just raised the prices of admission. When it used to be $20 for both of us to get in, it is now $30 AND we have to pay for our nine-month-old daughter. While we can tolerate a price increase for adults, it is ridiculous that we should have to pay $15 for an infant.
We no longer come to this facility for that reason, and have found another location that we like just as much! If they lower their prices back down, we will return!

Wonderful water and neat yurts. Changing rooms are clean, staff is very good.
Neat little RV are along Creek. Although the highway is close enough to hear it's not terrible busy at night.
Our only complaints are that they just raised prices and the higher prices are steep especially for the area. (particularly for kids) Also being closed Sundays eliminates half of the weekend for people to enjoy.

Was in Boise from CO to visit family and the mentioned that Twin Falls had several hot springs.
After some suggestions from the state visitors site, ending up making the 2 hour drive to Miracle.
Well worth the drive.
Clean pools and changing rooms, intimate and charming, surrounded by beautiful scenery. Just as good as any springs in CO, without a thousand bodies to share with.

We stayed for a long weekend and absolutely loved it. The general public pools are fantastic, even providing sports for chess boards to pass the time as you soak in the hot spring water. The private pools aren't the prettiest but they are nice to get away from the crowds. If you rent one of their glamping domes you get time in the private pool as an added bonus.
The glamping domes are so fun. We stayed in the King Dome and were thrilled. It was beautiful inside with a huge window facing the woods. The bed was a little springy and low but we slept great. There is a single bathroom open 24/7 you can access near the office. Only a short walk from the domes. Showers are available onsite during pool hours.
There is a special treat from the days Hagerman had an alligator farm. Right next to the King Dome is a fenced off area with a hot spring pool within. It houses a gorgeous 7 foot alligator. It doesn't move around much especially in cooler weather as it prefers to hang out in the hot spring water.

Very clean and staff managed.
There are therapeutic geothermal pools, private soaking, and massages. Private rooms to change and storage available for your personal items.
The staff was very friendly.

There's no smoking except in the parking lot. Makes it difficult for those who have a difficult time walking. No lifeguard on duty, saved a 3 year old from drowning. Parents preoccupied with other children.
Changing rooms on pool deck. Private hot springs with doors. Essentially, a square 5 ft by 5 ft, depth unknown. Can be used for whatever you choose. 21 available, may need to reserve time at the facility. Highly recommended to reserve a private soak!
Varying temperatures of the water. The 2 days I was there, the hottest pool was 102 degrees. If blood pressure is an issue, I do not recommend that pool.
If you choose that pool, do not stay in for more than a few minutes. I, personally, got dizzy due to my own health issues.
Beautiful place, friendly, knowledgeable local staff!
I highly recommend this place. They do have snacks, soda water available for purchase.
There are yurts/domes available to rent as well as RV space. Very limited space for RV. I have a van that doesn't need hookups, but, there was no overnight parking for me, nor were there any spaces for tent camping.
You may lose cell service getting there so look for the sign!

My wife and I came for our anniversary…1hr massages each, 2 hr VIP private pool, the only single-dwelling overnight room they have…exceptional!
The massages were first…professional and very relaxing. I loved mine, my wife loved hers. As for mine (the only one I can speak directly to) she was awesome. She said very little, only to know I was comfortable, which I like (I don’t like talkative masseuses). It was clear to me she was trained…she knew exactly what to do and how to do it…wow, I highly, highly recommend!!!
Next was the pool…ready for us, exceptional temperature (which you can adjust if need be). Very spacious and invigorating due to the natural minerals!
The room we had exceeded our expectations…it was spacious, very clean/sanitized, the king bed (the only one we used…two beds are available), was superb. Soft, silky, clean, relaxing…way to go, Miracle staff!
I can honestly say this room, in Hagerman ID, was better than most I’ve experienced…many in “five-star” locales.
I will be back…both for the room and the massages…again, way to go!

Been going to Miracle Hot Springs for several years now and I really like it. They have a public pool, and they have private pools with a standard and V.I.P. ones. I prefer the private pools. The standard size can accommodate 3 to 4 adults of average size comfortably. The V.I.P.s are larger and have a area where you could have a couple of beach chairs or a place to lie out if you choose to do so. We have had up to 4 adults in the V.I.P.s with no problems. I like the fact that all the pools are open air (no roofs) and the standard size has a little window cut out for a mice cross breeze! The bathrooms are clean and modern, with showers so you can rinse off first before going into the public pool, or rinse off after private pool use.The private pools the water is changed out and cleaned after each use. The one thing that would be awesome to have in each bathroom would be a swimsuit spinner to get out excess water, and perhaps some hooks to hang your clothes on while showering/changing. This is a family owned business, and they are super friendly!

Landmark spot boasts tours in underground lava caves with ice formations, plus a museum & gift shop.
Wow…just, wow! First time seeing a structure like this. And the fact that it’s not man made makes it even more spectacular! It was certainly chilly once you descend into the cave, make sure to bring a jacket, but absolutely worth it! The tour guide was wonderful, knew so much history about the cave and surrounding area. We enjoyed visiting the museum on site. After the tour we partook in a couple of activities. This included smashing geodes and using the sluice. Low key and fun. Recommend for families!

Part way through the tour, she sang a song for us to illustrate the acoustics in the cave, She did a great job!

They have guided tours on the hour, with the last tour of the day at 4pm. The tour takes 45 minutes. The tour guide is informative and friendly and willing to answer questions. The museum is small and has some nice artifacts on display. This Ice Cave is a phenomena and is said to be one of two known ice caves. It has been restored to its original condition, which was to naturally form and keep ice inside of it. There is an amazing natural arch inside and it is like a big cavern inside. They have installed wooden boardwalks to make it easier to navigate walking inside. It is about 28 degrees inside the cave and there is ice year round. There is a gift shop too.

Such a fun stop on our adventures today! Right off the highway so very convenient. Price was a little high in my opinion but oh well. The gift shop was fun and the kids loved everything. Walking down the cave is kind of hard with "little" kids. My 4 year old was struggling and we had a large group so we kind of felt rushed. The rails in the cave seem alittle dangerous for little ones. I feel like they need to add another piece of wood to make sure no one falls off (little kids).. Feeling rushed and with kids is kind of hard. I would recommend still and really had a good time. It was COLD but I loved it. If you're frozen easily then bring a jacket.

Our tour guide, Abby, was so sweet and did such a great job teaching us new facts about the Shoshone Ice Cave, the people who lived there and the different layers of lava at the cave entrance! The gift shop and museum is really nice too! Definitely worth the trip especially for only $12! The walk is as good as going down into a cave can be so people with bad knees might have some trouble and need to consider that before making the trip. Definitely bring a light jacket! 10/10 guys! Thank you!

Cool geological feature with interesting history. Cool temps year round in the cave - a light jacket is advisable . Tour guides were friendly and on script but willing to answer questions. Kinda cool place. Don't expect to learn much about why the cave is cold or any real history about the area or native Americans.

The Perrine Memorial Bridge is a truss-arch bridge that spans the Snake River, known for its minimalist construction and impressive height. This landmark has some historical significance as it was featured in Evel Knievel's attempted jump across the river in 1974. In addition to its history, this location offers breathtaking scenery and provides visitors with opportunities to enjoy natural wonders while also being an exciting destination for BASE jumping enthusiasts.

Beautiful scenery it's a must for anyone driving through this place has some history with evel knievel trying to jump across the snake river back in 1974 but failed also people base jump off the bridge just taking a walk and enjoying the natural wonders its relaxing and fun.

This bridge is absolutely free of charge and has enough entertainment for your entire family for hours. No wonder it's a huge tourist attraction. Thanks to the city of Twin and the entities that support all these facilities. You can watch base jumpers (that sometimes end up in the river). You can walk or jog the long trails and across the bridge. You can go under on both sides, so every inch of the area is pedestrian-friendly. You can read history and see the various monuments. There are free, clean restrooms nearby. Easy, free parking. Shade, or a breeze. Views for (literally) miles.

Beautiful spot. There is a little parking for the scenic lookout on both sides of the highway. It is a couple of meters after/before the bridge.
The sad thing is: I caught on the camera some kids, under the supervision of their parents, grafting the handrails. That is not right.

Excellent bird of the snake river if you’re brave enough to walk across. You can pull off and park on either side just on the way out of or into town on highway 93. Once you get to the bridge on foot choose which side to walk on by using the stairs and connecting path underneath. There’s one on either side so if you go across you can come back on a different side and still get back to your car. My advice is the railing will turn your hand black with dirt so be prepared with wipes and please pack them back out with you. Oh! And you might see some BASE jumping too
Margaret Chicoine — Google review
It's definitely worth the stop to check out and walk around. If you're lucky, you may catch a base jumper jumping from this 498 foot bridge down to the river side below. This is 1 of 2 bridges in the world that doesn't require a permit to base jump, and the only one in the U.S.
Chris Setzer — Google review
The Perrine Memorial Bridge is quite the impressive sight! It is a little nerve-wracking driving across as the bridge is very tall. It is an incredible engineering feat to span such a large gap at such a high elevation! You can apparently go base jumping off it, but we didn’t try that.

Beautiful truss arch 4 lane bridge, 457meter long & 148 meter above snake river. Amazing views of bridge from visitors center which is at south end of bridge. Popular & only man-made allowed structure for base jumping. Lot of base jumpers were getting ready for jumping when we visited. From top of bridge views are stunning of snake river canyon
You can go under bridge also on trail.

So much fun! I enjoyed this, but make sure you find the right place to park! There's a shopping center, access the bridge from that parking lot. This gives you access to a cool statue and all the overlooks into the canyon and the best view of the bridge ... o, and access to paver pathways under the highway etc. if you wanted to walk. Overall, a quick stop, maybe 30 mins to appreciate it [w/o walking too far/much], and photograph. I thought it was worth it.

Cool feat of engineering with gorgeous views of the canyon. Definitely worth a five or ten minute stop. Bonus is that the spot where Evel Knievel attempted to fly across the snake river canyon can be viewed a mile or so westward.

If you're lucky you can see BASE jumping! I was passing through town, drove across the bridge and saw a girl jumping off the bridge. So pulled over at one of the several parking lots, and spent the next 45 minutes watching many jumpers. Very awesome bridge!! And so awesome that it's apparently not illegal to jump. Good job to the local government or whoever allows it.

This bridge in Twin Falls, Idaho on across Snake River is a marvelous peice of architecture. The visitor center is also very beautiful. It has restrooms and big parking lot. There is hiking trail around the bridge. Also people jump off the balloon from this bridge. We loved the whole scenery. People were walking their dogs/ hiking etc. the gorgeous Snake river flowing underneath looked very pretty.

Very cool to see this section of the canyon & snake river up close. Apparently, this is also a fav spot for base jumpers. Evel Kinevel monument was a wonderful bonus!

Absolutely must to stop by place. Breathtaking view! Be sure to check the visitor center and put a pin on the map.

We were so lucky to get to watch some base jumpers jump today. It was really cool.
Shoshone Falls Park features green space that includes a boat launch, scenic overlook, trails, picnic areas and a concession stand. The park is renowned for Shoshone Falls, Idaho's most iconic waterfall which reaches full force during late summer after snow melt-off. However, visitors should be aware of the potential for wildfires during this time. River levels will be lower and warmer than usual making it an ideal spot for beginners to try out whitewater rafting.
Shoshone falls park is absolutely worth the drive, worth the stop!! It is a gorgeous view, a beautiful grounds for having a picnic lunch, has restrooms to use, dog friendly, has a gift shop, and you can order lunch, snacks & drinks! The gal working the gift shop was SO nice! She was friendly, efficient, and down to earth. The view of the falls is spectacular, and we even made some new friends!
Overall, I highly recommend stopping her for a while to visit and take in the beautiful views!

A must-see on your tour of America’s sites. Taller than Niagara Falls, Shoshone is as breathtaking as it is beautiful. The powerful water streams are stunning to view, hear, and feel. The falls are thunderously loud. There is plenty of vehicle parking, with gentle green hills for children to play in or dogs to catch an exercise break. A small snack shop provides sundries. Tons of information about Shoshone is posted throughout. Take a guided or self-guided tour, up to you. There are trails that extend into the Canyon Rim if you’re feeling athletic, or simply want a different vantage point of the falls. I love visiting - we usually catch a rainbow in the mist 🌈

The park staff were super friendly! Unfortunately when we went, the falls weren't full and one of the water paths had dried up. Still worth the admission, they have several different viewing areas to get a glimpse of the falls. Go earlier in the spring and summer if you want to see the full falls.

Shoshone Falls Park is an absolute gem nestled in the heart of Idaho, offering a breathtaking natural spectacle that will leave you in awe. This majestic waterfall rivals even the grandeur of Niagara Falls with its powerful cascade plunging into the Snake River Canyon. The park boasts well-maintained trails, scenic viewpoints, and picnic areas perfect for a family outing or a romantic escapade. The surrounding landscape is stunning, providing a picturesque backdrop for photography enthusiasts. Visitors can witness rainbows dancing in the mist and feel the cool spray on their faces. Shoshone Falls Park is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.

Shoshone Falls was quite the surprise for me! We were in town visiting some friends, so we decided to go check out the falls along the way. This is one of the only places I have ever seen a double rainbow in all my years of being in nature so that was a very nice surprise to see! The falls can get a little busy, but they weren't bad moving around and taking pictures. There are a number of birds that fly down near the falls as well so you can get some great shots with the double rainbow going over the falls. This is a must see if you are in the area!

Early morning is a lovely time to visit. I arrived early enough that they hadn't opened the spillway and you can see a picture where the waterfall wasn't flowing. An hour later they had opened the dam and the waterfall was running in all it's non-spring glory. Spring time is amazing in comparison as the whole waterfall from side to side is cascading.
There is a path for bicycling and walking toward the rim and along it. It's well worth the experience. The beautiful stream waterfall in my pictures is available at the head of that path and is a lovely place to sit and enjoy for a couple minutes

A complete surprise in the canyon. We stayed in Twin Falls, ID we were talking to some locals about how nice the town was and they made the suggestion to go see the twin falls at Shoshone Falls Park. The next morning before we left town we went and we were so glad that we did! This is a beautiful place and if you're in the area, I highly recommend to visit.
It was a five dollar per car entry fee, to drive into the canyon to go to the park, viewing area and lake entry and they have a pool there as well.
We had Jolie Fleur so I could walk her in the beautiful green grass with many trees for shade. There were tables for families. Parking was good but with the amount of people coming into park, they could use more spots. The viewing areas were very well done. We were both amazed with the cleanliness of the park. Note, the drive into the canyon is narrow & winding so be prepared, but it is doable.
What I have learned, take time to see the local beauty as you pass through a town or area. You'll be richer for it.

Even though it was a dry when we came it was still stunning!
I've seen amazing falls from South America, Hawaii, and Niagara and Shoshone holds its own!
It's almost mind-boggling how this place just comes out of nowhere farm land. Nice town to stay in as well. We will come back when the falls are actually flowing but regardless it's a beautiful park! $5 entry fee is worth it.

Excellent Views!! Fun for everyone!! Incredible History!! The water wasn't flowing heavy yet! But it was real neat to see it in this state!! (Before they release the water!) Always Love to frequent this Magical place!! New views every time you go!!

Shoshone Falls Park was a delightful experience. The falls were beautiful, the grass lush green, even in August. Well manicured areas to throw down a picnic.
The road from the gate to the falls could use some work, yet that is understandable considering the terrain. Take your time around the corners and you shall be fine easy in , easy out. Ample parking and I do suggest that RVs and those pulling a trailer use the designated parking for such vehicles.
Safety note, the signs that warn of danger are not a joke and I employ person's to heed them, as they are there for a reason
The concession stand was well maintained and had great prices. Do not expect a Kobe burger flown in from Japan, it is just a burger.
Thus saying the price is right.
Enjoy the trip to and from and take a bit of time to look at the falls from different angles, provided in different areas. Shoshone Falls is definitely worth a visit and a bit of time to relax and enjoy the beauty that is our planet full of wonders.

This is a beautiful park with spectacular views. The little walk-up gift shop was unique because everything is behind the counter and they bring out things for you to see close up. The restrooms have flush toilets though the facilities are dated. The grounds are beautifully kept. There is a lot of shade in the tree-area. It's well worth a visit when the falls have a good flow year.

Shoshone falls is a must see attraction in Twin Falls city of Idaho. Also called "Niagara of West". About 5km from main city. It is on snake river canyon. Height is 212 feet (higher than Niagara) & width is 1000 feet. Flow is seasonal. Park is well maintained with few benches, lot of trees. Washroom facility available.
Vehicle entry fee is $ 5.
Virws are spectacular from view plateform.
Although less water falls in September, still a beautiful place to visit.

Gorgeous rock formations and some very nice and easily accessible viewing platforms. The Snake River is very wide and looks so beautiful with its rich greenish color. Some of the rock formations are so white and look so pretty in contrast with the river. It is very relaxing to be there.

Modern museum showcasing exhibits on historic cleaning techniques & tools, with brooms, tubs & more.
The Museum of Clean is a really fun experience. The displays are clever and informative, with just enough “potty humor” to please even the most conservative of crowds. There are lots of interactive displays that leave you wondering just how anyone managed to have a clean house before a fusion vacuum and modern plumbing. The museum imparts the idea of being clean, not just how to clean. Definitely a worthwhile visit if you have a free afternoon.

We weren't sure what to expect but it was a fun time. Our daughters loved the Kid Planet! We all learned a lot about the history of cleaning. It was all really interesting and it was fun to see it! Staff were friendly and at it was our first time, she made sure we knew where everything was.

Most highly recommend this delightful, unique museum! You will not regret it! They also have things for children. I loved all the history and creativity found there. You don't know the meaning of clean until you have been here! This may just have been the quirkiest of all the quirky places we've been so far on our cross country road trip. 100% worth the modest admission fee. Interesting, fun, funny. Exhibits for everyone, young and old. It was a very great way to spend a couple of hours. Very valuable!

Incredible experience for the whole family! This museum offers an abundance of knowledge on cleaning like never before. It's the realization of one man's remarkable dream. Don, the visionary behind it all, can often be found strolling through the museum, ready to answer any questions. If you're fortunate enough to encounter him, I strongly urge you to seize the opportunity and engage in a conversation.

Really amazing! I had no idea this place existed! They had fun things for the kids to do such as cleaning laundry in a bucket with a plunger washer thing and then they could run it through a ringer and then pin it on a clothes line.
Vacuums for days!
It's good clean fun 😆

Super interesting and pleasantly surprised at the variety. Very interactive, kiddos loved the kid dome and Texas sized object scavenger hunt. We could have spent more time there if kiddos weren't hungry, so definitely plan to spend a few hours. Definitely worth checking out, even if you don't like to clean 👌

May not have been something I was terribly interested in, but once I stepped inside this huge museum, the passion of the owner, Don Aslett was quite apparent. He has dedicated his life to building a world wide cleaning Co, writing books, and collecting thousands of rare cleaning items such as vacuums, brooms, mops, etc. and placing them on display. The staff was very friendly and as a Harvest Host guest, we are thankful for the night's stay.

We visited the museum in September while we were In town for a ISU-Central Arkansas football game the next day. The group I was with didn’t know what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised by what we found & the extent to which this museum was presented! It was fun to learn about the cleaning industry while we all told stories about how a certain product played a part in our lives whether us using a product or or parents or grandparents using a product, or any type of commercials we remembered seeing. The museum itself was plenty big enough for their exhibits, & not shockingly at all, it was very clean. We were able to explore at our own pace which we enjoyed as well. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed our side trip to the museum & would tell others to go there if they ever find themselves in Pocatello!

Ok, so I have been to maybe hundreds of museums in my 60+ years. This one is totally "unique"! Meets the definition of "1-of-a-kind" to the T! I could have spent hours, but we were passing through and could only give an hour to the collection! Amazing collection for a man passionate about the finer art of cleaning! And yes, that is the founder Don laying back in the chair in the photo. They assured me he is only napping ! Got to check this place out if you are nearby just to appreciate what we conveniently use every day!

Natural hot springs offering several outdoor pools with different temperature levels, plus a shop.
Place was awesome, soaked for about an hour and 10 minutes. Payed $10 a person for unlimited time as long as we didn’t leave the pools.

I went to this place 2 times in the last week on our family road trip. I found it very clean and well maintained with the amount of people that go through there. It has a ton of visitors each day I was there. We did bring 3 of our children and they all liked it as well. There are strict rules about splashing and actual swimming etc. Which I find nice for the atmosphere it's trying to breed. Would definitely suggest going there I'd you are able to.

This was a very fun hot springs to visit. There are multiple pools, each with a different degree in temperature. The price on the weekends is $12 for adults. The price during the week is $8 for adults. They have lockers, but unfortunately it costs 50¢ to actually lock. They have a change machine, so be sure to have some dollar bills handy otherwise you’ll have $4.50 in quarters. There are showers and a changing room for both genders. Parking is across the street or on the street. If you park on the street use your ebrake and turn your wheels to the curb. Overall, I do see me coming back, but during the week when it’s cheaper.

It is so clear and clean with no Sulfur smell. From the hotest pool 112° to the coolest 103°, also with two tubs with jets it feels so good to sink down in the water to soak. The gardens are beautiful and very well maintained. The staff are so kind and helpful.

We found the hot springs very well organized and clearly labeled on water temps. The ramps into each pool allowed everyone in our group to adjust to water temps (toddler to senior). The 112F pool has the best shade on the grounds. After soaking we toured the secret garden. It seems to be the same property but only accessible from a path to the east and up the hill behind the historical sign. The garden was very serene and provided plenty of spots to sit and escape the heat. There's a small natural lava cave along the trail. About 2ft high, so be careful to watch your head when in and exciting.

I was just in Thermopolis so I figured I'd try the Hot Springs here too. There is a nominal entrance fee. Bathrooms, showers and lockers. Various pools at different temperatures. Most people were in the coolest of them which I believe is between 102°-105°. They go up to I think 116°. I felt a bit like Goldilocks finding out which one I liked best. I settled on the small pool at 105° and stayed there for 15-20 mins and then moved to the larger cooler pool for a few. Before I left I did dip in the hottest of the pools just for a couple minutes. Couldn't do that for too long. All felt very nice and relaxing though. Definitely worth it.

This is a place our family makes several trips to every year. The hot springs has been a fun tradition. This makes for a easy, laid back and relaxing vacation.
The reason for 2 star review is because the changes and rules over the past several years have gotten a little obnoxious and the cost for entry continues to increase. They are really strict about banning "outside drinks" including water. Today we waited in line while the staff searched every bag of every patron. Re-usable water bottles had to be dumped out prior to entry. It makes no sense.
In the past, your entry was valid all day, that is no longer the case. We used to soak a little in the morning, head out to hit one of the local restaurants, then return to soak in the evening. That's not an option anymore which makes enjoying the springs with hungry kids a lot harder than it used to be. The cost of entry for a family is high enough now that it would be hard to justify paying twice so you soak until the kids get hungry and leave. Maybe that's exactly what the owners want.
Ryan Tuttle — Google review
Visited on a Saturday. Was there from 6pm-8 pm and it was crowded. Two hours was more than enough for me. The pools have different temperatures. The lowest temperature was 102 degrees and it was perfect. Make sure you take plenty of water. I paid $12 and there was no time limit. Very clean facility with bathrooms and changing rooms. I’ve been to Crystal Hot Springs in Utah and have to say that Lava Hot Springs is better.

This bird refuge & marsh area offers a 12-mile auto tour, fishing, hunting & wildlife viewing.
We have been here before and did the drive through the refuge; so wish we had had the time on this trip because it was the height of bird migration and we would have seen a lot of different birds. The staff was very informative. Hope to come again this time of year to do the drive. The indoor display of birds and sounds is very well done and educational. There was construction going on in the back of the building, with new landscaping, benches, and native plants that looks like will be used for educational purposes. It will be interesting to see it the next time we are in the area.

The visitors center is very nice. There are a few different y walks from there, but we didn’t see any thing until we drove to the actual refuge.
We missed the swans but saw so much. I want to go back a different time of year and see what else we can find.

Great place to see Bald Eagles and Herons. The trip from Salt Lake City is a little long, but with coffee and good company you are there it seems in no time.
If you go during the winter months, beware! The road around the refuge us a mix of CLAY, GRAVEL, DIRT AND SAND. Your car/SUV will get extremely dirty. Do not wait days to wash it. It won't cone of once it's solid. Use a high powered sprayer to get into every nook and cranny of your cars underside, especially the wheelhousing. I waited a week and it took 2 hours and 30 dollars to get my Tahoe looking new again.

Awesome place. The visitors center was open and we enjoyed all the displays and information. The kids had a great time doing the Jr Ranger Activity Book along the trail. That kept them busy for at least an hour. Nice paved trail with benches along the way. There was no shade so I would recommend a hat and glasses. We didn’t have time to drive around the rest of the refuge.

Sometimes we cannot appreciate the simple things in nature. If you really want to be in touch with nature and experience some of the wild, you don't need to go to the jungle. In this place, you will enjoy spectacular sunsets, the singing of birds, the sudden fright of many that take flight, the bites of wild sandpipers, days full of fog in winter, the nostalgia of a lake that threatens to disappear. and a river that gives life to the mangroves that provide food and life to thousands of birds and aquatic species. I recommend it 200%. A paradicical wildlife place that we have included in our photographic project, from Ana's CameraWork.

Plenty of activities for the kids, a nice gift/book shop, even featuring local photographers work.
They have a nice exhibit hall to help you learn more about the area.
Kids earned the FREE Junior Ranger pin. They provide you with a booklet, pencil and light green backpack full of gear to adventure with as you complete activities in the booklet.
Recent snowmelt made it hard to do much of the paved trail as some family members didn't have proper shoes.
I'd love to come back in May when things have warmed and greened up a bit more.

South end is open for hunting access through Perry. There is a launch made of concrete. Parking for 8 trucks with trailers. No restrooms at the area so go before you come out. If you use the launch be careful as you pass others in the canal. Clean up after your self and be prepared to be checked by federal fish and game at this location when coming back in.
The hunting proclamation is pasted and pamphlets are available on like r at the launch. Please follow all rules and guidelines as you enter the wetlands.

My wife and I travel there often. It never disappoints. Today, for instance, we made the 1.5 hour drive to see some reported bald eagles. We made the loop, stopping frequently and driving an average speed of 7 mph. We didn't see any bald eagles. We did see harrier after harrier, many of which were gray ghosts. So much beauty in every direction.

The visitors center is a pleasant surprise full of beautiful interactive displays. You’ll learn a lot about the Great Salt Lake and the refuge and the role each plays in the ecosystem. Wish it was opened till 5pm or 6pm. It’s hard to get there before it closes.

Beautiful scenery and wildlife. So peaceful and amazing, to go on the auto tour. We had so much fun and no trouble seeing a variety of birds, dragonflies, butterflies and fish.

Update February 2023: Interesting and educational James V. Hansen Wildlife Education Center. Unfortunately, we didn't see any bald eagles while driving the loop although others have spotted a few.
Previous year: Binoculars are essential. On the way to the loop you may see a bald eagle on a post so look around as you drive there. We saw two single ones, two groups of two, one group of five that would have made a great photo, many farther away.

Me and my family LOVE the Bird Refuge! All year round there are different things to see! There are times where you don't get to see much wildlife. But the scenery is beautiful to drive through still to some! Bring a camera if you are interested in photography of birds at all! Probably a lense that zooms pretty far too if your extremely serious about taking pictures! Not exactly completely kid friendly as it is basically a drive through and observe the animals you may see! Dirt roads so in the wetter/colder seasons its a bumpy holey journey! I think it's great still though! :)
Set at the mouth of a canyon, this scenic 1888 research university is near trails & climbing routes.
Aggies! A beautiful campus tucked up in the mountains. There are trees everywhere and open fields to play sports or lounge around on a nice warm day. There are a lot of events going on campus wide to keep you busy. What is really great is how the entire community rallies around the university. It is a very unique dynamic and very very fun!

Displeased USU Visitor
My recent experience with USU (assuming you are referring to a university or institution with that acronym) left me feeling incredibly frustrated and dissatisfied. One of the most significant issues that marred my experience was the rampant over-ticketing problem.
Over-ticketing at USU has become a serious concern, and it has undoubtedly soured my perception of the institution. It seems as though the primary focus has shifted away from providing a conducive learning environment and towards extracting revenue from its students and visitors through excessive ticketing.
The frequency with which I witnessed students and visitors receiving unwarranted tickets was alarming. Whether it was for minor parking infractions, perceived rule violations, or even issues that should have been handled through communication and warnings, it appeared that the institution was more interested in punishing individuals than in fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere.
Furthermore, the fines associated with these tickets often felt disproportionately high, placing an undue financial burden on students and visitors who are already struggling with the cost of education and daily living expenses. It's disheartening to see an institution prioritize revenue generation over the well-being and financial stability of its constituents.
The over-ticketing issue not only creates a hostile atmosphere but also undermines the trust and respect that students and visitors should have for their educational institution. It fosters an environment where individuals are constantly on edge, fearing that even the slightest misstep will result in another unwarranted ticket.
In conclusion, my experience with USU has been marred by the issue of over-ticketing, which has led me to question the institution's priorities and commitment to the well-being of its students and visitors. It is my hope that USU will reevaluate its approach to disciplinary measures and consider more reasonable and fair ways to address rule violations without resorting to excessive ticketing.

I'm just about to graduate with a Master's Degree and have loved my entire experience here. Awesome new buildings, cool old buildings, great professors, and great students who make for great campus life. And you can't leave out the superb outdoor recreation available all around. The PE classes are a blast! To anybody coming to USU I highly suggest taking up rock climbing, mountain biking, trail running, and skiing/snowboarding. There's even a new ski resort opening up that is only 19 minutes away. They just opened up the ARC (Aggie Recreation Center) and my wife and I love the rock climbing and everything else that is available in there. Complete party, great place to learn to become a learner, fun professors, useful clubs and student organizations, all around great place to get your degree or degrees.

Completely upset by the cost of online and zoomed in classes. Why do students live on campus, go to class in a classroom on campus where the teacher is zoomed in. The lack of support for the students to learn in a classroom setting is disappointing. Do you really want future doctors to be online students?

Antelope Island State Park is the largest island in the Great Salt Lake and boasts of white-sand beaches, migratory birds, and a herd of American bison. Visitors can take a peaceful walk through its wilderness to spot free-roaming bison, mule deer, antelope, bighorn sheep, and a variety of migratory birds feasting on brine shrimp along the shore. The park hosts annual wildlife spectacles like the November buffalo roundup for veterinary examinations.
Wow! The views are stunning! Wildlife too -antelopes and bison and abundant bird life! It’s spectacular to see the lake and also the mountains. The beach is vast and can be walked also loads of hiking trails and even a restaurant. Camping in tents and RV’s is also available. Would be a great place for riding bikes. Bring Binoculars to see the diverse birds!

First Time Visiting Antelope Island, Was told at Entrance it was Bug Season, She Sure was not Kidding by the time I hit the first stop, my car was Splattered, and you could hear the bugs. However once I drove farther into the Island the Bugs were not as bad. Still had a great visit, did not see any Antelopes, but saw lots of Bison. Was a very interesting stop on the way home

Beautiful park! Take your time to drive through the island in search for bisons and antelopes. The views are stunning! Dogs are not allowed on the beach. Make sure to check if it’s mosquito season and bring some repellent. There are several trails, with some easy options. Bring plenty of water with you as it can get very hot during the day. The entrance is $20 for the car.

Absolutely amazing place to explore when visiting SLC or Park City. Not far from either place and a really beautiful destination. A mindful reminder of how amazing nature is. The visitors center has great information. The free roaming bison are so cool! And the landscape will not disappoint. A great place to see the salt lake and learn a bit more of what natural beauties UT has to offer. $15 entry fee per car. Lots to explore around we only had a few hours but could have probably been there for an entire day plus!

Went here for sunrise and absolutely fell in love with it. We were lucky to catch the wild bison crossing the road in front of us. Our trip was in late September and the bugs were absolutely atrocious down near the ranch where we watched the sunrise and saw the bison. The bugs weren’t as bad down by the ranch though! wear layers so they won’t bite you and enjoy.

I hadn't been to this park in 6 years, it was so nice to see water towards the end of the entrance! (it was completely dry last time) There were so many bison's too! We saw hundreds with a bunch of babies as well! They crossed right in front of us! Great experience!

We saw the park on YouTube watching a Venture Addicts Destinations Explained video about Salt Lake City. We went there to see the antelope and bison. We didn't see any antelope, but the bison put on a show. We saw one bison at first, then a small group, but eventually drove into several herds of them. Some just casually crossing the road in front and behind our vehicle. We also got several good views of the lake, what's left of it. I was kind of sad to see how much the Great Salt Lake shrunk. The YouTube video did mention the odor and number of flies on the island. The odor wasn’t that bad, but the flies (aka no-see-ums/midges) were an issue. Returning to the city after sunset was a problem. There were so many of them on the causeway that our car and windshield were covered with them. Luckily there was a gas station after you exit the causeway where we could clean our windshield. I still recommend going there to see the bison and lake. The sunset views were from Buffalo Point were amazing.

I visited this place in August month. Entrance fee is 15$ for each car. There are few trails and a beach inside. Dogs are not permitted to beach. There is a visitor center inside. It has some information about the wildlife around salt lake. People who are interested in wildlife photography, this is a must place to try it out. Various number of species fly/migrate here. Watch out for those bisons on road they are almost everywhere in the park.

Really great place to visit, just a short distance from the bustle of salt lake city is a wildlife and nature reserve on the shore of the shimmering great salt lake. Lots of buffalo, not that many antelope!

Beautiful views of the mountain and beach area. Got to see the Buffalo but not any Antelope. I don't think we went high enough into the mountains. Checked out the ranch but there was no guide to explain any of the things we were seeing. The mosquitoes were off the chain! Had to use the outhouse style bathroom and although it was clean, mosquitoes tore my buttocks up. Lol. Hiking trail near bathroom wasn't difficult but that walk to the beachfront was something else. Sand gnats everywhere. They didn't bite though. Bar & Grill on beach was closed the day we went. Took us a little over an hour to get there from Salt Lake City. There is a fee per car but only $15. You drive most trails but they did have a few walking. You can also camp there in RVs or tents.

Highly highly recommend visiting!! This was some of the most beautiful and diverse terrain all in one location. Someone suggested I visit this place when I had time. Had 4 hrs to burn so made it out here and OMG this place is so peaceful and beautiful!
Only drove through and walked around Visiter Center and the Ranch but there is sooooo much more to do here! There’s a bunch of hiking/biking trails, camping grounds, horseback riding, and I’m sure a bunch more but 4hrs wasn’t enough!
Don’t think I’d go hiking since there’s a possibility you’ll cross a Bisons path. I will definitely come back to horseback ride when I have at least a whole day to spend!
$15 to drive your car in.

The Hill Aerospace Museum is a free attraction that showcases various planes, missiles, and aerospace gear while educating visitors on the history of the Air Force. It offers clean facilities, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and a gift shop. Although visiting hours are limited until 4:00 pm, it's an excellent place to take boys and learn from veterans who work there. The museum requires masks for visitors' safety but provides an enjoyable experience overall.
What a wonderful way to honor our history! Parking and entrance is free! Clean facilities. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Visiting hours are only until 4:00 pm. They also have a gift shop inside. It was not crowded. You just have to deal with the mask Nazis.

Must see! The Hill Aerospace Museum offers a vast array of all things aerospace plus. From a model of the first working airplane to more modern aircraft, munitions, personal stories of the brave men and women who have fought for our country, detailed display information, a cockpit tour and many larger aircraft that surround the museum. A huge thank you to the many wonderful volunteers for their service to our country and their help in making our experience greater! They can answer your questions, direct you to whatever your looking for, point out hidden gems, offer personal stories, insight and info on current and future features. I took 3 boys aged 5-7 and it kept their attention for over two hours. Entry is free but donations are encouraged throughout the museum with convenient donations boxes. We will return to learn more about our countries past through this thoughtful and beautifully curated museum.

This place is incredible! You only get a little glimpse of it from the freeway, but the second you enter, you realize this place is way cooler than you expected! First, they have an SR-71 inside this place! The first stealth plane that flew at 80,000 and could take photographs while flying at mach 3! SUPER COOL!!
Next, they have literally hundreds of things to look at including F-16s, an A-10, missiles, bombs, literally, more than 50 full size fighter jets, airplanes, helicopters, and more. You could spend hours here and it only feels like minutes! Plus, they are continuing to develop "Experiences" that let you go inside airplanes, missile silos (replace scaled down) and more. It's just amazing what they have here.

I was beyond impressed with this museum.
I know good aerospace museums that would easily charge $30+ for tickets to see these kinds of aircraft. I was extremely surprised to see that admission was free and there were way more aircraft than I had expected. For the average citizen, they might not realize how great this place is unfortunately. The only one I've been to that tops it is the Smithsonian in DC, and well, they are hard to beat. Great job.
Overall it is an amazing museum. Will be back again.

We didn’t know about the tours but gave us a little history for the time he had before he started a tour with another family and/or school.
I will put some of the pictures that I was able to take and share. It was free to go in but do recommend giving a donation because the up keep as well as seeing these volunteers were well worth it.

I was visiting Hill in November of 2023 and always make it a point to check out the Air Museums whenever I’m visiting a base thats new to me. Its not very far from the base at all, it wasn’t crowded at all either and every single person we came in contact with was so friendly and welcoming and just happy to have visitors and to educate about all of the different types of aircraft, they really are lovely. Thank you for being so kind and for the wonderful conversations too!
I had fabulous conversations with a few men working there in different areas, I happened to be wearing my U2 Dragonlady sweater and they were so excited to find someone that knew what that plane was lol it was great and we had fun sharing stories from their past and my present life as an Air Force spouse and telling them all about my husband who works with the U2.
The museum was very clean, laid out well and looked like they will be expanding soon and opening another hanger. I was sad that the Fighters weren’t being shown at the time, but I hope to see them one day. Thanks for making my visit a memorable one, I’d definitely come back again!

We loved coming to the museum! They have an outside section with their big airplanes and the older smaller exhibits inside.
They have well written signs about the exhibits and volunteers that can also tell you different stories and background on the exhibits.
The museum is pretty big and is geared more towards school kids and adults. I would bring a stroller for young kids since there is a good amount of walking. They do have a flight simulation that you can reserve for school aged kids and a C-130 you can go inside. We will definitely be back after the construction and addition of new exhibits!

A truly amazing museum. The amount of history here is stunning. They have an abundance of jet planes - everything from fighter jets such as the F-15 and F-16, reconnaissance planes such as the SR-71, bombers and transportation planes, and so much more. The planes come from multiple generations, so you will can see an F-4 and a more modern unmanned drone.
You can also see weapons, sit in a stationary cargo plane, see exhibits of military uniforms and equipment, and there are tons of areas that talk about women in the military, POWs from the Vietnam War, and more.
The museum is free but encourages donations. We left a donation and bought some from the shop to show our support. Even the gift shop has a great selection.
We took a close friend who is an Air Force veteran. Thanks for such a great experience and we will be sure to come again!

The museum has a pretty impressive display of planes and ICBMs. Staff are super friendly and most have worked on airplanes previously so they can provide a lot of insight. The museum is very accessible for wheelchair users, those with mobility impairments, and those with service dogs. Fair amount of walking inside and outside to see the display of planes. Well worth the trip out to see them.

An amazing exhibition with civil and military aircraft of all kinds.
A large part of the exhibits are covered in a climatized hanger. The bigger ones are outside.
You get a feel of the Cold War when you see the size of B52 and other bombers.
Also, some good history panels re Korea and Vietnam war
It is easy to spend 2-3 hours here, and entrance is free

What a fantastic aerospace museum local to Davis county at Hill AFB!
It was recently shut down for a few short weeks (23 October - 3 November) for some expansion/rearrangement but is back open to the public, albeit with more work in progress with the L.S. Skaggs 'wing' still under construction (as I post this on 4-Nov-2023).
As such, a few of the aircraft are not currently viewable (the SR-71, for example).
Otherwise, it was a bright and cheery day today at the museum and look forward to getting back there soon to check out the expansion when it's done!

Best Military Aviation museum I have visited In US. Its collection was well thought out and comprehensive of obvious military aircraft from important eras in Aviation history. As well as including a significant number of often forgotten important aircraft such cargo and reconnaissance planes which are often not on display or recognised properly in other museums.

This museum has an excellent selection of stunning military aircraft. From the early days of flight, to modern service jets, there's something for you to love. Most planes have an exhibit gors over details of the aircraft and it's history. There is plenty of parking, though it was fairly packed when I visited.

World history is often defined by wars. During the 20th and 21st centuries, aircraft came to play increasingly important roles in determining the outcome of battles as well as being deterrents to aggression. Military aircraft came of age during World War II, and their utility for both military and nonmilitary purposes expanded during the Cold War era and beyond. A list of some of these great planes is given below.

🏖️🤿 Beautiful place to relax and absorb the natural environment when you are looking to get cool during Utah’s dog days of summer. There are many spots where the sand is soft on the feet and great for building sand castles if that’s your thing. There are picnic tables, campsites, and day use areas; all for various reasons to visit. We usually make day trips here as a family, though have camped on the northern side rim. One unique attribute of this lake is the water clarity - you can walk 100+ yards out and still feel the bottom and see your feet! Enjoy! ☀️

Wow!! What a gem!!!! Have been coming to Park City area for years and had never made the trek to Powder Mountain- or Pow Mow as the locals call it. It’s a decidedly different experience than the other area hills. Think skiing 20 years ago. Fewer people, they only sell 1500 lift tickets per day. The terrain is great. On one of the busiest days of the year we saw virtually no one. We utilized the free tour guide at 10 am and we’re lucky to have Judi from NH. She was so friendly, knowledgeable, and adapting to our group. I am reluctant to share this review because I reluctantly want to keep this special place a secret!! Consider the $25 cat ride to the untouched terrain!!

We came out here for night snowboarding because Brighton closed down due to the dangerous weather, and we're glad we did. Not only was Powder Mountain cheaper, but it wasn't very crowded - so we got a ton of great powder runs in.
At night time they only open one lift and a few trails, but they are well lit and quite a lot of fun to shred on.
The facilities are in great shape and we had no issues with parking, lift tickets, food, or restrooms during our stay.

Prefer over Park City every time! We live in Florida so only ski 1-2x a year and loved Powder Mountain. First, rentals were great and so easy to get. No line and great service. Staff everywhere was smiling and chatting with us at each left, super friendly and professional. The views and trails were gorgeous, well groomed and they limit how many tickets were sold so we skied ALONE many times down various green and blue trails. Eden has a few decent restaurants but also worth the 25 minute drive to Ogden for 25th street filled with restaurants and bars.

An absolutely incredible resort with some of the best terrain I’ve ever boarded. I had the best powder day I’ve ever had. I was boarding untouched powder the whole day. Due to powder mountains higher elevation they have some of the best snow in Utah. I love how they limit ticket sales so it never gets too crowded. We walked onto almost every lift on a sold out day! Powder mountain is always a great place to visit.
Especially when the city is full of smog!
It has some breath taking views!
There ski school was awesome!

Powder Mountain has something for everyone, blue cruisers, trees and challenging blacks. I went on a Saturday and didn’t wait for more than 3 minutes at most to get on a lift.

Spent the day with some friends on an all day snow cat skiing adventure yesterday. Our two guides, JT and Becky, were amazing! Had a safety brief in the morning then we were off for a full day of untracked snow, amazing views, and fresh powder. Halfway through the day we had a picnic lunch at a “snow table“ that the guides built for us to eat around. I have done multiple trips like this and this was by far the best one so far will definitely go back and do it again highly highly highly recommend!

This is a fantastic local ski resort if you’re looking for an affordable, beginner-friendly, non-corporate, local feel resort. We came and here and took the first time snowboard school and wow! I have to say we were blown away by the instructor that we had. My wife is terrified of slopes and kept falling repeatedly on the top of the green run and was close to giving up. Our instructor Doug, patiently worked 1x1 with her and all of a sudden, it clicked and she successfully went down the mountain with no issues. She was hype after that and I have to give my sincere thanks to Doug for his steadfast commitment to teaching and working with her. Thank you!

We had an amazing trip in 2023 and are going back March 2024. No waiting in lines and nice off trail runs. Highly recommend

Five stars for the ski area, minus 2 for the pricing and access changes. Powder Mountain describes itself as huge, and it is definitely massive. We visited for two days and barely felt like we saw the place (visibility was also low, so that didn't help), but got in a ton of good runs. Some areas have really deep snow while you can also go on a lot more lightly covered trail runs. Lifts are all pretty slow, but limited lift lines made it not a huge issue (though Hidden Lake lift in sleet is pretty miserable). Had a great time, but unfortunately, we won't be able to visit again. A bunch of reviews mention this already but prices doubled to around $229+ for a lift ticket. This is absolutely absurd for the amenities: a few slow lifts, limited parking, and lodges from the 80s or older. They will also stop accepting Indy Pass next season and are closing part of the mountain to take it private for a luxury housing community. Powder Mountain has decided to close its doors to all but the rich, so while we really enjoyed the snow, we will have to look elsewhere for future ski trips.

Went night skiing on 12/29 and it was a great experience. I love that they cap the amount of tickets sold to keep from over-crowding. They had a "magic carpet" lift that my toddler loved, and the runs were varied enough that I enjoyed my time, and my 3 year-old could learn to ski.
I also had a great experience with staff. I lost my diaper bag and I had it back in my possession the next afternoon. Everyone I interacted with was very friendly and helpful. Thank you again!

I'm not sure how to give my ultimate review. This place rocks! I never heard of Powder Mountain, but damn!; I have too many good things to say about this resort; their people and our experience. The ski resort is big. We couldn't do it all (maybe 30%) in 2 days. Great trails; very long; incredible views; quick lines (on a weekend); we may be from the East coast, but we've done over a dozen big name resorts and this BY FAR was the best. Most impressive was the staff. As soon as we got there everyone was there to help. Tons of positives to say here, but to suffice it to say I wish all of my staff was as attentive, helpful, thorough, not on their phones and friendly. 5 stars to Powder Mountain! I could go on, and on. At the end of day 1, we met the guy who books music at the Timberline lodge. Wow! Mind-blowing better than expected, crowd tipping $20s, Music was awesome; Friggin' Amazing!, etc. Skiers like to enjoy a great day and that scene at the lodge was just off the rails in a great way! Cutting it short; this mountain has great skiing, great employees and has a great atmosphere. We're already planning next year's visit. Join us!

We have been coming here for 15+ years and we love, love, love this mountain.
But what happened with lift tickets pricing this year is absolutely horrible! Reed Hastings bought the mountain and is trying to price us regular people out. I just looked at Friday 2/9/2024 - $229 before taxes. For one day! We can drive 15 min to Snowbasin and ski for $40 less. Snowbird and Alta for comparison also $40 less.
And next year they are revoking decades long tradition of free skiing for seniors 75+. Have they no shame?!
They call it dynamic pricing, but it’s not. Dynamic pricing matches pricing to demand. Here it’s just the opposite: they try to make up the revenue they are missing due to lack of demand, by pricing tickets even higher. To prove my point, here is empty popular lift (Mary’s) on a powder day. That would have never been the case in previous years.🤯

Had a fantastic private lesson as a first time skier with Paul! Worth every penny for the full day session (930-330). I had tried skiing once back in 2011 and it ended after 90mins with me being skied down the bunny slope in tears by one of my friends. That was a scarring enough experience to keep me off the mountain for over a DECADE!
I came into my private lesson, which I shared with a friend, with zero hopes/expectation. When my friend mentioned that I'd be going down the actual lift by lunch time, I was highly skeptical, but Paul was so helpful and patient and had both of us on the lift just after lunch, much to my surprise/delight! He explained and demonstrated proper body positioning, angles, movements etc and was just so encouraging! I fell a lot, of course, but by the end of our lesson, I actually was trying a couple of blue routes with him.
Powder itself is a really cool spot, a little farther out and was less crowded than Alta which we went to the following day (could be because it was midweek-Thursday- though). It's definitely got a grungy/purist vibe to it, but still a welcoming/inviting atmosphere, and coming from a complete novice, it's a great spot to get started!

Amazing place to ski and snowboard. Not packed at all. Many runs and the snow is great. We keep coming every winter ❄️
Recreation area providing boat slips, panoramic viewing areas of the lake & interpretive exhibits.
Amazing. Staff are polite. Disability friendly. And a breathtaking site to see. It is also near a gold and copper refinery. Great place to see natural salt deposits that form right on the beach! There are bathroom facilities. A nice marina too. Good for early spring to fall exploration. There is a 5.00 fee to get in.

This is one of those places you go just to say you’ve been there. $5 per vehicle to get in and decent size parking lot. The visitor center is small but had some interesting information and a few souvenirs.
The smell from the lake was almost unbearable! We wanted to dip a toe in but absolutely no way. This is def a stop for info and pics and not a camp or picnic spot for sure. I wouldn’t drive out of my way, but if you’re in the area, why not stop so you can say you’ve been.

This is worth the $5 entrance fee to enjoy a visitor's center and walk paths for views of the great Salt Lake. The park and its ultrawelcoming staff encourage you to explore and take in fascinating history. The lake is now at its smallest point and has been reshaped over 14,000 years. Learn about brine shrimp (also known as sea monkeys) and the habitat. There is a great little gift shop with post cards and trinkets curated from the salt of the lake. There are many educational signs as you meander short paths and take in views of the lake. On this side the salt is lower and they encourage you to put your hand in and are so moved We went on a hazy day. I couldn't tell if that was related to mining operations or something else, but nothing that felt like it tarnished the experience.

We came to see the sunset over the lake and was not disappointed. This time of day presented some of the best light I’ve ever seen for photographs. The visitor center closes at 5, and we got there just as it was closing. We didn’t get to see the inside exhibits, but there are some outdoor interpretive signs about the lake at a nearby overlook. There are also signs outside the visitor center that tell you about the copper plant nearby.

Great Salt Lake State Park providing access to a picturesque view of the lake. The visitor center is convenient, featuring a small store and clean restrooms for visitors. However, the park lacks substantial recreational activities beyond enjoying the scenic beauty. If you're looking for a peaceful spot to appreciate the Great Salt Lake's allure and enjoy basic amenities, this park is worth a visit.

Super pretty place although the water is super low and kinda gross when it’s this low, there also isn’t a whole lot to do here unless you have a kayak or something so I don’t know if it’s worth the money to get in It’s still a really great place to see the lake though!

One of the best nature places in Salt Lake City. A bit of a drive from the city. Walk on the lake's shore. If clear and sunny, great view of lake, mountains. The ranger station is helpful w answers. Buy a small container of salt for your table. Spectacular view of stars at night.
I also recommend Antelope Island.

Worth a visit. Great scenery. Very cool seeing a vast lake and knowing the only living things in it are brine shrimp and flies. Tons of flies. The smell isn't great by the shore, but it's ok at the lookout.

Worth the $5 vehicle fee to check out at least once. The visitor’s center has an interesting little exhibit that explains the geographical history behind the salt lake. Friendly staff, clean bathrooms. And there are sea monkeys, which is fun! (Brine shrimp that live there.) There’s a small, smelly marina. Haven’t the slightest desire to hop in a boat but to each their own. There are dead pickled birds scattered across the shore. Some salt deposits which are cool to see. I wouldn’t take your dog off the leash here. Glad I visited but don’t feel the need to come back.

I have visited this state park several times, but only in winter. From there you can see part of Antelope Island. They have a telescope to observe and you can also see the Great Saltier. In winter, it is very cold especially if there is wind. Here I share some images from our Utah's Lakes and Reservoirs photography project. Contemplating the Great Salt Lake never disappoints. It is a walk very close to the city that everyone will experience.

Such a breathtaking landscape. Photos you take will never do it justice. Admission was $5. The one thing I didn't expect were the flies. Bring bug spray.

Very disappointing. Not well maintained and the beach smells awful. They charge you five dollars to enter the park. They have a small viewing area that overlooks the lake, and you can walk out to the small beach area. You have to walk through brush to get out to the beach. This area could be so much more than it is if the state would put a little effort into the location. Very disappointing compared to the other state parks.

This place, it stinks. There are brine flies everywhere. Inexplicably, the beach was covered in dead birds when we were there. The refinery for the Kennecott copper mine loomed in the background like mount doom.

Small park, marina, and trailer style visitor center with a few gravel campsites right along the road in. Has picnic tables and handicap accessible observation deck. Short rough gravel walk to Taz Point, or you can walk down in the sand flats along the lake if you're OK with sand/mud, so wear durable shoes.

2002 Winter Olympics site offering classic ski-resort activities & year-round events since 1936.
Pretty sweet spot. We lucked out and had some of the only fresh powder they’ve seen in a few weeks. So our experience was pretty good.
Visibility was a little tough at the time towards the top.
I think most runs are ski dominate. But Main Street with minimal traffic was a snowboarders dream.
Not remotely a pro, or heavily experienced. But the run was well managed and wide open. Clocked us doing about 40 down through there.
Wait times were never longer than maybe 5 minutes, even during the busiest part of the day on a Saturday after a snow dump on Thursday night.
Not the largest park. But well managed, quality staff and well groomed runs. Highly recommend if you can get in here with fresh powder.

Snowbasin was great. Lots of terrain to ski, powder stashes here and there, especially if you hike a little. The groomers were in good shape and skied fast, too. The added gondolas and trams from 2002 Olympics are great.

If you want great skiing, Snowbasin is where you should go! They take great care of their runs by grooming them regularly. Middle Bowl lift was replaced in the 2021 off season. It’s a 5 minute ride to the top!
I had so much fun my last couple of visits! I look forward to going again soon.

Great mountain. Wish we caught it on a powder day. But we did get a blue bird day. The lodge area is really nice. First time at the mountain so there was a lot of traversing to get around and explore. There is a good amount of parking available. Didn’t fill up and we got there around 10:30 but it was a weekday. Recommend going to the top and taking the tram. Great views up there.

Superb...Fantastic experience. Very Organized. They had all kinds of Ski Slopes. Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. 9000 feet high mountain slopes. Ski lifts or closed Gondolas to carry you up the mountain. The Resort is very popular amongst the locals. They have trained instructors. Huge gift shops with lot of items. Huge eatery, Seperate building for rentals. We took a whole day package deal along with Ski lessons and was at a good price. It is about 1 hour drive from Salt Lake City. Ample parking. Lot of warm places to sit with family and enjoy lunch. We loved it as family and would highly recommend the same to other families / Adults.

A place for the books! We came for the Blues, Brews and BBQ event a few weeks back and loved everything about our day trip! The scenery is gorgeous, they have many different hike/bike trails, mini-golf, good beer, a nice restaurant at the top of the mountain, a gondola ride and to top it off... it's a dog friendly venue!!
Jenasea VanDerVeur Morse — Google review
Pretty close proximity to Salt Lake City and has a local, homey feel that is wonderfully run from the seemingly dozens of parking guests to the wonderful restaurant staff. The lodges were extremely nice and almost felt like a nice country club. We went there on a Saturday jn mid march and it was not crowded with no lift lines longer than 5 min. It is on the smaller side with only few chairlifts, one gondola, and a very short tram mostly serving a hike along a very steep and rocky ridge with various chutes to go down. Mountain consists of a fair share of blues and greens with some blacks mixed in. There were some good tree runs with pretty good snow even a couple days after it actually showed. It seemed most skiers of the mountain were not very good and stuck to groomers or easy runs. There are a lot of chutes that can be hiked too and feed down to the main top area of the mountain. There is a very short hike to the top of one of the peaks that has amazing panoramic views of the spectacular rocky tops of the mountain along with the salt lake and surrounding flat areas with mountain rising up in the distance. All around good family mountain with some steeper stuff and a small feel. Definitely worth it especially on weekends where more mainstream mountains in the area are packed.

Everyone, including the two gentlemen who bought me a beer prior to my run down the beginner slope, were very friendly and helpful!! Beautiful resort!! I plan to return again next season and take some lessons, and become a better skiier!! Thank you Snowbasin for making my first trip so enjoyable!!

It was our first time skiing in Snowbasin and we went Thursday & Friday last week. We have the Ikonpass and we wanted to ski a new resort. It snowed on Thursday and it was cold. The resort’s lodges were beautiful and comfortable. It was nice to relax and get back on the lifts again once we warmed up. I appreciate the gondolas. It wasn’t very busy on Thursday, and there were no lift lines. There were more cars/people on Friday. It was a beautiful day. The resort offered shuttles from the parking lot. We were worried that there were going to be long lines. It was only long in the early morning. Snowbasin is beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, we enjoyed our experience.

It is a gorgeous ski mountain with break taking views of the mountains. Unfortunately, the parking situation there was a nightmare. They badly need a reservations system for that. Even though their website says most easy to access, it actually took 30 minutes in backed up traffic just to enter into the premises. We also did not like how bumpy the mountain was. There were little to few flat runs. Your only choice was moguls on just about every downhill pathway. If you love the bumps then this is the place to go. We had driven an extra 50 minutes to escape the hustle and bustle of some of the other ski resorts in Utah and were disappointed in the result. If you live in Ogden, I guess this is the best choice, but if coming from elsewhere, not so much. We are not going to rush back here anytime soon.

The mountain was absolutely fantastic with a ton a varied terrain. Our group had all skill levels from beginner to advanced and everyone was able to find a spot on the mountain to enjoy.
The glades past strawberry were incredible.
The lodge was very, very nice with bathrooms located right next to the lift so you don’t have to trudge inside.
The line to park was long but I did enjoy not having to make a reservation. We arrived at 10:30 and there was plenty of parking space left.
The only improvement would be to upgrade the pass scanners so you don’t have to take the pass out of your jacket every time.

The mountain is wonderful, and even despite this winter being pretty lousy, almost everything is open. The snowmaking machines are always working, keeping the slopes snowy, rather than rocky. We had an amazing experience at this resort.
