Left Hand Brewing Company is an exceptional independent brewery that offers a wide variety of microbrews, including stouts, IPAs and barrel-aged options. The tasting room features a patio and daily food trucks, with ample outdoor space for social distancing. Knowledgeable staff can assist with organizing flavors for tastings, and fair prices make it accessible to all. Visitors can bring their dogs along to enjoy the large lawn area near the main taproom.
Excellent independent brewery! Enough options that a flight is likely warranted even if focusing on a particular category (stout, IPA, barrel-aged, etc.). Knowledgeable staff can help match/organize flavors for it. Food trucks nightly. Heated outdoor space, good for social distancing. Many, many options to go at fair prices.

My friend wanted to try a beer at this Brewery for a while and since we were layover 24 hours why not?
Upon arrival, you had to wait for hostess to open the door as they're accepting only a certain capacity of customers at a time. The gentleman up front was extremely nice! We decided to sit outside as Colorado weather was perfect for outdoor seating.
Menu's are through scan code so perfect. They offer a variety of beers on tap to pick from as well as can ones. I decided to go with a flight of beer which includes 4 samples. I picked Good Juju (if you love Ginger then this is your type of beer, loved it!), White Russian (if you're a fan White Russian cocktail then flavors are on point and it will be your perfect beer), Milk Stout (it felt like a triple double espresso; if you're a coffee lover then this beer it's just for you) and Raspberry Milk Stout (my second favorite - loved it!).
We asked for food options and the waiter mentioned they had an agreement with two restaurants. Options were either Mexican or BBQ and off course we went with BBQ. Delivery time was extremely fast and their BBQ especially their Ribs and Briskett were to die for!
Super knowledgeable employees, extremely clean establishment, free parking in the front lot of the brewing, and best of all upon check in through Yelp you get a free pint of beer of your choice with what's available on the tap options.
Highly recommended!

Top notch brewery!
Beers are fantastic, service is off the hook!
Seriously a great place to enjoy a few drinks.
We’ve enjoyed a selection of their brews from afar and became a bigger fan after paying them a visit.
Great merch and a great selection to go!

Whether you are inside or outside in the huge garden area, the vibes at left hand are always good.
This past Monday we had a awesome bartender who gave us all kinds of tidbits. We could tell he cared about the beer he was pouring and the stuff he drank!
The juniper pale ale was spot on

If you know anything about Colorado Beer then you should know about Left Hand. Their Nitro Milk Stout is a classic.
I recommend visiting this taproom if you're into beer and wanna visit one of the Colorado OGs!
Great options for indoor and outdoor seating!

We had a family visit to The Left Hand Brewing Company yesterday in Longmont, Colorado. What a great experience it turned out to be. We sampled several of the stouts as well as a few others. We bought a pack of White Russians to take home. Bartender was very welcoming and helpful in choosing some of the beers. A great treat to visit for all beer lovers. Nice little fire-pit outside too.
Tom Saunders — Google review
Delicious Beer and awesome staff. They allow dogs which is amazing and they have a large lawn area that is not far from the main taproom. We come for the IPAs but always end up getting a delicious stout as well. Also the Irish guy behind the bar is super cute. I think his name might be Cody.
Michelle Daylong — Google review
Great atmosphere with friendly and knowledgable staff. Their beer selection is decently sized and there’s something for everyone to enjoy! Stumbled across it and ended up staying for Wednesday night trivia. A great time!
Adam Gordon — Google review
This Brewery made unbelievable nice beer and the service was amazing and friendly. I have a good time with my family.

Beers were...OK & decent, guess. I sat inside at the bar to get a tasting & it was very stuffy (no air flow) & extremely loud. Really wanted to love it, but sadly I did not.
Sheila Schuldt — Google review
We love it here! Between the tap house and Biergarten, left hand is always a good time! We’ve been a bunch of times and it never disappoints. Recently we popped in with our toddler to enjoy my husbands birthday and they were so awesome! The outside area at the tap house is great and lots of fun seating areas! All of their beers are delicious but I really enjoyed their Oktoberfest this visit!
Kathryn Gross — Google review
Some of the stouts where good. The ones with an adjunct, such as the French Toast had a very "fake" taste. The other beers where subpar. The staff didn't seem to like their jobs. The bartenders where short with you and I ran into a grey haired individual that was rather rude, I'm assuming he works there. Overall not a good experience and don't see a need to go back.

May have a national handprint but the trip to where it all happens explains why it’s national. Amazing that after winning GABF 2022 that there’s seat at the tap, hospitality and a atmosphere that no one is resting on its laurels or hops. Favorite start with Dry Irish Stout.

Fantastic beers with a full board of limited releases at the taproot. They have several heated outdoor shelters for cold weather enjoyment. Awesome brewery!
Joel Carter — Google review
Great brewery. Lots of unique brews. Canned cocktails for non-beer drinkers. Indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor patio has a fire pit. Outdoor beer garden hosts musical guests; some events are free. Nice gift store with Left Hand products and handmade art crafts.

If you get the chance take the brewery tour... its fantastic. I've been on several brewery tours across the country. This is in the top 3. Especially if you are a microbrew nerd and like to talk beer. Everyone there is very knowledgeable about the process and the final product.
The tasting room has a great atmosphere. Almost reminds me of "Cheers" where everyone knows your name even if you are from out of town. We checked in at the bar for the tour and we started chatting with the guy at the end of the bar.
Located in a small town, Bay Aquatic Park offers kids and families fun in the sun with slides, a pool, and concessions. The park is crowded during summertime, but it's worth it for the great recreation available.
Perfect place for families with younger kids. They loved the water slides and had fun in both pool areas. There was a good amount of space to setup blankets, chairs and sun shelter. Wish we lived closer because we would go every week.

Can't beat this place as a fun area to enjoy the water with kids. Visited with my two kids and had a fun, relaxing afternoon!
John Hermida — Google review
We love that The Bay has multiple pools with activities at each one that cater to kids of all ages! There are also plenty of tables and grassy areas to set up your spot. It does get quite crowded, so you have to prepare for that, especially if you have young littles.
Sarah Giammaria — Google review
I can hardly put into words what a phenomenal time we had at the Bay! We arrived when the pool was at capacity (which could have been a major bummer) but they were in the midst of counting and assured us that they would let us know in the next ten minutes if we could enter. The staff was so patient and kind in repeating this information to the people who arrived after we did. We waited less than 15 minutes to get in and then proceeded to have a blast. It felt like a well-oiled machine. Waits were short for tubes and then short at the top of the stairs for the slide. Keeping the number of tubes smaller was a GREAT way to reduce lines and waiting - well done! Also the staff was phenomenal. One employee had so much fun splashing and playing with the kids as he did his job in the pool or at the top of the slide. All of the staff listened to my kids' wishes and didn't make them go fast if they wanted to go slow and didn't dunk them if they didn't want to be dunked. This means a LOT!
Others were so kind in how they explained if someone was breaking a rule. Whoever is managing and training, you are doing a phenomenal job and your team is great. Wish we lived closer because we would be here all the time.
Amy VanSlocum — Google review
A little over priced for what little they offer. Regardless the staff is usually friendly and the facility is clean. This particular place is always jam packed with families enjoying themselves and the atmosphere. In the mornings, before they open, gaggles of geese stop to enjoy the waters preferring the pools to the pond literally right next door. Which I think just speaks for itself
Stacy McFlairs — Google review
Awesome water park! They have a kids area for really small kids that's very shallow (like maybe a foot deep or so) with 3 mini slides side by side. They have a graduated pool that goes from zero to 5 feet deep, and the shallow side has a tunnel slide for kids to go down, and the deep end has a set of 5 straight slides side by side. Then they have 2 twisty long slides that fall into their own pool water at the bottom, and a large twisty slide for single or double inner tubes that falls into its own pool water at the bottom.. and all of those big slides were awesome because they allow young kids to sit on your lap and go with you or ride the double tube with you - this made the waterpark a lot more fun for our preschooler!
T — Google review
Great facility. I have a 4.5 yr old and she loved the kids areas. Also the adult rides were tame enough that she could fit in my lap. Overall highly recommend based on facility and well priced snack center.
Erick Fields — Google review
They have a splash pad, kiddie pool, multiple slides, a wealth of life guards. Perfect for families and a relaxing day at the pool. We rented a table for my son's birthday, it was a nice setting.
Audry — Google review
This is a great water park with lots of fun slides and kids love it! I am in swim team and we got to go before everyone else and it looks so cool and is so fun and we were the only ones there. Lol 😆. Great place! 50 stars if the was an option. 😁
Megan Morley — Google review
Perfect small town water park for our whole family. Friendly staff, safe environment, fun slides, big pool.
David Dumler — Google review
If you want to get in as soon as it opens without waiting in a long line, I suggest arriving at least 15 min early.
Kids love the place and it's small enough that you don't have to worry about where they are too much. Younger and shorter children can do all of the slides with an adult except one. Snack bar prices aren't too bad either
The Denver Botanic Gardens is a public garden that boasts a variety of gardens and an outdoor sculpture gallery. The botanical garden is known for its endemic plants, as well as its collection of flowers and sculptures.
Parking is easy, staff is super friendly! You can purchase tickets online for easy check in when you arrive. Cute gift shop and a few different spots for a coffee or a bite to eat. Very nice to walk through and enjoy the many different garden, plants and flowers. Beautiful place!

Denver Botanic Gardens is one of the most beautiful gardens I have been to! The gardens are stunning, unique and very well maintained throughout the year. The staff and volunteers are extremely kind and helpful. They also have delicious food and drinks that you can enjoy inside the garden. I also highly recommend the Halloween and Holiday light shows they have in the fall and winter. A lovely place to visit anytime of year!

Amazing place to spend the day. So many different areas with unique plants, flowers, and displays. While most are outdoors, there's several indoor areas if you want to get out the sun.
Nice combination of using both floral and water gardens. The different gardens are Gardens of the West, International Gardens, Ornamental Gardens, Shady Gardens, and Water Gardens.
You can easily spend a few hours just walking between the different gardens. Regardless of preference, age, physical ability, there's plenty to see here. The gardens are so large, there was never any crowded areas.

This is always a pleasant place to visit when in town. We recently enjoyed a picnic in the gardens while listening to a variety of musicians. Take a stroll through the creative and colorful garden arrangements or catch a concert there when you are able. Make sure to tour both inside and out spaces and grab a bite at a cafe should you have time. They also hav3 wonderful light shows in the winter and educational events as well. Have visited now for over 40 years and we are never disappointed.

This is a wonderful place to visit with the family, a first date or just to get out of the house. Has wonderful and exotic plant life. As well as different bug species and types. There are so many attractions inside and out for adults and kids. Also has a library where you can purchase books. Families and kids would love it here.

Very excited to see the spirit guide sculptures. The tulips are in full bloom and it was great. Love the smells that come from the blossoming flowers. As always, great staff that help you along the way. Love this place. Will definitely go again.

We came in early spring so there were not too many blooms. The tropical plants were amazing. The science pyramid was good for kids. The landscaping is beautiful. I especially enjoyed the moongates and their description. It was very picturesque even without everything in bloom

The Denver Botanic Gardens was a great place to visit - even in the winter when not much is growing. They accept reciprocal memberships from other gardens across the country as well. The conservatory was a great retreat for warmth and to experience beautifully blooming plants. The art galleries were a nice addition as well. Artfully running streams and other water features masked the sounds of the surrounding city. The gift shop is also top notch!

An absolute overload of beauty! These gardens bring such joy and wonder to visitors of all ages. With plenty of corners and unique spaces, it’s easy to find peace and tranquility even with lots of people. It’s all so extraordinary that I can’t have any one favorite part.

Peaceful morning amongst a wide variety of plants, flowers and creatures. Nice outing for all ages. We spent 2 hours here. Sat at various benches throughout the grounds to ensure we took time to enjoy. Visited all the buildings too. Highly recommend this reasonably priced garden and gift shop.

The gardens are gorgeous! There were quite a bit of people when we visited, but it didn’t feel crowded. There were a lot of shades and places that were cooler in the middle of July. The gift shop has a unique collection of merchandise to choose from. The staff in the ticket booth and the gift shops are super nice too. Would recommend to visit!

Art and plants blend into this special place. Various exhibition halls related to natural plants, whether indoors or outdoors, are amazing everywhere. The arched-back tropical plant pavilion makes people feel like they are in the tropical rainforest of Southeast Asia. The orchids in the orchid pavilion are so beautiful and unforgettable.

Such a beautiful garden with much to see. It was well kept and clean. A very nice place to go take a walk about and learn about the different plants. There’s a nicely sized pond in which you can also see fish. Would recommend for a casual stroll, date, or family outing…..just an all around nice time.

I absolutely love Denver Botanic Gardens! The architecture in the park combined with the different plants and flowers is stunning. It is one of my favorite places to photograph in Denver. They have several different wedding spots, and are true pros at helping you set everything up for the day! If you love plants, color and landscape design this is a great place for your wedding!

Such a beautiful, peaceful place to stroll around! We came here around 10:30am and it was already bustling. There's plenty of free parking and if you bought a ticket online, you can skip the ticket booth. We enjoyed seeing the different flowers, the Japanese pavilion and the bonsai trees. Absolutely a gem of a place and you can really feel the love and care poured into these gardens. Highly recommend a visit!
Tracy Sung — Google review
The gardens are really beautiful, you can definitely spend a lot of time here but you can also see everything within an hour and a half if you’ve got other things to do in the city. They have a cafe on site that you can visit, I didn’t try it because the line was super long. There were a couple of areas closed off since they’re renovating, but there was still plenty to see.
There’s also a learning building that is interactive and more geared towards kids, so I think it’s a great place to bring kiddos.
The gift shop has a lot of cool items as well!
Alex — Google review
Wow what a beautiful place! Friendly and welcoming staff! The gardens are broken up into different areas. There’s so much to see the water lilies were definitely my favorite! absolutely beautiful. You Can probably go through all of the gardens with leisure walk in about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. We didn’t make it indoors.
Shemi Dixon — Google review
The gardens are nicely laid out with a wide variety of ecosystems represented. My favorite was the water gardens. They are already in the process of setting up the Holiday lighting in the garden. Bistro dining was a good option, but prepare for long lines at lunch time.

Denver Botanic Gardens was on our “things to do” in Denver. Such a beautiful and peaceful space. I have special love for orchids! 😍
It was a great experience to see an abundance of beautiful flowers and plants from all over the world. You can easily spend hours exploring the gardens.
There was Ghosts in the Gardens - Open Air Scare for Halloween celebration. 🎃 Pretty cool.
Loved the history in the Japanese Garden, seeing the Bonsai trees was magical.
We went on a weekday so parking was not an issue.
We enjoy visiting botanical gardens all over the world and this one didn’t disappoint!

Love visiting whenever I get the chance. I took a stroll recently with visiting family and had a wonderful time. The selection of flowers and plants is amazing and so diverse. There's always so much to look at. I usually take about 3 hours in the gardens but you could easily go through it in a little more than an hour.
It was crowded when I last visited but you could only tell in the cafe and other indoor areas. Its never too bad though. The whole place is super clean and all the workers are nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area

I am new to Denver and just recently been able to visit the Denver Botanic Gardens. Once during the fall event and again during the Christmas lights. I love that they sell tickets for time slots so you are able to enjoy the gardens without the huge crowds but purchase early because they sale out quickly but all is totally worth it. I went during the day for fall and the fall colors were on fire. Night time for the Christmas lights was absolutely gorgeous! There is a free parking garage. Staff is amazingly friendly and promise a good time. I highly recommend a visit!

Beautiful botanical garden with lots of variety in landscapes and types of flora. Visited in mid March so wasn't as impressive as I'm sure it must be later in the spring summer and fall. Great way to spend a few relaxing hours outside on a nice afternoon. Plenty of benches strewn about to sit an relax a bit also.

I'm a big fan of Denver Botanic Gardens. Love it so much, I became a member. The gardens are, of course, amazing. But I love the conservatory. Take your time and just spend the day walking the gardens and seeing everything they have to offer. You can rest of two different restaurants, both with delicious food. The gift shop is great and if you enjoy art, they are galleries that rotate different exhibits. You won't be disappointed.

DBG never gets old. I love the art almost as much as the gardens...haven't been disappointed by an installation yet. With countless favorite individual plants to focus on, I still find myself walking down a quiet path just for the ambience. Thank you for all the years / seasons of enjoyment.

Beautiful area. Really loved the tropical plants. That was my favorite exhibition. Really well put together area of plants. Nice and spacious really like the pyramid in the middle it's also very interactive inside.
The Denver Zoo is a vast and sprawling facility with exhibits, animal demonstrations, and shopping venues. Among its many attractions are animals from all over the world, including primates, pachyderms, carnivores, reptiles, birds, and fish. The zoo is well-known for its educational programming and conservation efforts to help save wildlife in the wild.
The Denver Zoo is one of the best zoos I've been to. I would give it third place - behind only San Diego & the National Zoo. It's a very big zoo for being right in the city, with easy access from downtown and 25. Admission is incredibly reasonable and is a better deal than the aquarium. The enclosures are great and the animals seem very well cared for. We did a "behind the scenes" with birds of pretty and it was excellent! Tons of great information the keepers were amazing and clearly loved the animals they work with.
100% recommend it!

It's been a few years since we have been to this zoo. Not much has changed. But, there are a lot of closed exhibits because they are making some cool looking updates. I can't wait to see the kangaroo exhibit. After 5 it is $5. It's a fair price since it seems most of the animals are hiding away.
Aaron Hoy — Google review
Very nice zoo. Great size. Not too large to walk in a few hours. Love the tiger walk overhead. The tropical house is one of the nicest I have seen. Elephant information was short but good. We were impressed with how they treat the elephants. Lots of little information booths that were in service. We have a new membership, so we will be back.
Selene Kaye — Google review
They really like to trap you in the elephant and monkey exhibits so you can't find your way out but overall it's a fine zoo. The short and sweet elephant show was great with lots of conservation info and Jake (the elephant) did such a good job! You can tell the employees really care, for example an orangutan mommy had just given birth and they had a zookeeper there explaining everything and keeping order so all guests could see the baby. I also really liked their animal hospital and that you can observe procedures, very unique and awesome experience if something is going on. The only thing I'd wish was for more big cats :)

This is such a great zoo, we went during a colder day in late November. The inside buildings alone took us a while not to mention many great larger animals as well. As we were leaving they started turning on the lights for a separate event. We had a great time and got some good pictures and videos.

The Denver Zoo is a must see attraction. I've been here many times and it never gets old. The kids love it. The zoo is always updating or changing the exhibits. It's a nice place to get your steps in and it's surrounded by great restaurants. The zoo lights are always amazing to see.

Went during the week during February. Wasn’t too cold but a lot of the animals were inside, but did get to see almost all of them. Some construction going on which is probably best to do during winter months. Great experience. Clean zoo.

Best zoo experience of my life! Me and my partner went for my birthday and we saw basically everything! The animals all seemed so happy in their exhibits. I loved feeding the stingrays and the lorikeets, and the wild dogs were beautiful! Left with a plush of one myself. I absolutely want to make this a yearly experience!

The zoo was really nice! I went on a day when the weather wasn't that great (which is my fault) so a lot of the animals were kind of hiding and what not. They have a good selection of animals which for the most part look super content. They have some parts under construction and the birds were all taken if for their own safety, so O feel like I didn't get the full experience, but I would love to go back and a day where everything is normal and it's nice out.

The Denver Zoo is a fantastic place to visit! With its wide variety of animals and beautiful exhibits, it offers a memorable experience for visitors of all ages. The zoo's commitment to conservation and education is evident in their efforts to provide a comfortable and natural habitat for the animals, as well as informative signage and interactive displays. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and there are plenty of opportunities for up-close encounters with the animals. Overall, the Denver Zoo is a must-visit attraction for animal lovers and families alike.

This is a really fun, large, and clean zoo. They have a wide variety of animals and exhibits. Being quite large, it does require a lot of walking, so wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to take breaks if you come with very young children. It was also quite hot the day we went, and while there is some shade around the zoo, you may want to prepare by bringing water and sun protection. The elephant exhibit was especially impressive. We really enjoyed this zoo and would definitely recommend it for families and anyone who enjoys seeing animals!

We hadn’t been to the Denver zoo in a few years and I was so impressed with the transformation that has taken place. They have redeveloped multiple areas of the park to better accommodate animals and allow for close up viewing. Several areas are under reconstruction and I’m excited to see what is coming next! We had special sightings of a baby mandrill, wallabies being trained, an elephant presentation, and a baby sloth from right underneath. All staff were friendly and informative and seem to really care.

My family travels to aquariums and zoos every chance we get. This is by far one of the BEST zoos we have visited. It is clear that the employees have a deep concern for the animals, the environment, and for conservation. They were happy to speak to all of the visitors and answers questions and offer information about the exhibits.
There was much care given to ensure the safety of the animals, which included taking them off of display if it was in the animal’s best interest. This was actively communicated to the visitors through Keepers Notes.
If an animal was not in it’s normal location, this was also communicated. Absolutely LOVED this zoo and highly recommend visiting it.

Beautiful zoo! My toddler & I had a long layover in Denver on our way to NOLA & we decided to visit the Denver Zoo. It was very clean & well kept. My son's favorite exhibit was the penguins, they have an adorable set up. My favorite were the elephants, I've never seen so many elephants in one zoo.
As recommended by the website, we ordered our tickets online, the tickets were sent to my email. We scanned the tickets & were able to enjoy the zoo quickly. I would definitely go back again! Due to the layover, we only saw maybe half of the Denver Zoo.

This was such a cool place. It was a beautiful day and all the animals were out and active. We especially loved the elephant area as they were filing and cleaning their feet. The employee working that area gave us a great education on the Denver Zoo elephants, their habits and training. Excellent!

Long time visitors of the Denver Zoo both as native kids ourselves, and with our own family
New baby orangutan was cool. All the animals were in open, active areas. There is a massive upgrade/expansion project underway in early 2024. The animal hospital is amazing and is setup to allow visitors to observe patient care. We come every year to support our local zoo and will for years to come
Douglas Hunter — Google review
This was my first visit to the zoo other than Zoo Lights. It was easy to move around and it looks like they have some great improvements coming. We had an entry time in the morning so a lot of the animals were just lying around but as the day went on, they were more active. The hospital was so impressive. The prices were reasonable. My only complaint was we wanted to just get some drinks with ice but had to wait in the long line. It would be nice if they had a beverage line only since there was a place with a cash register and beverage machine that were not being used. Otherwise, everything was amazing.
Donna Smith — Google review
We had a great time here. This zoo is much better than the Birmingham Zoo. I would rate the zoo five star, but several exhibits are closed for renovations. The elephant show was great. We were able to see one tiger. The other one was sleeping on a platform and only partially visible. We saw some lions, seals and sea lions. Our time was limited, so we did not see much else. If you need to leave and return the same day, then you can get your hand stamped and not have to pay to come back in on the same day.
Steven Patterson (Realtor at eXp Realty) — Google review
The zoo was awesome. Was $5 bucks and a lot of walking so wear your walking shoes and if your knee hurts like mines bring a cane. But other then that it was awesome. We all had fun and don’t mind coming back soon
UndyingPanda Begay — Google review
So much stuff closed and under construction. Very underwhelming. I understand the need for expansion and growth but when half of the zoo seems inaccessible and you spend the other half looking for animals that aren't in their exhibit because they were moved but there's no signs stating so...eh.... Definitely child have been handled better to set better expectations going in. Needs work in that department.
Gerid Adams (Wired4Sound) — Google review
If one has a SNAP card, Admission is only $1, up to 10 admissions - a way better deal than the $24 now being charged. Incredible that is costs that much - way more than when I was a kid. But then, the DZ has upgraded its exhibits and facilities through the decades.
A few animal exhibits were empty, such as bears, seals and others.
Still, it's a nice facility with good informational signs and exotic animals that seem to do well at high elevation.
Jennifer Lonnes — Google review
A lovely zoo, and clearly on the way to bigger things. The elephant enclosure is very impressive, the largest I've seen outside of Dan Diego. What they have now seems small for a city the size of Denver, but multiple construction projects are underway. The staff were friendly, informed, and engaged. More detailed maps throughout would be a nice touch, as we missed things and had to backtrack because the main map gave the impression of a simple loop that was not a match for how things felt while walking. Even with poor weather it was a great day out and I would visit again in the future.

Had a great time here with my wife and family. Definitely recommend to visit if you are in the area , lots of animals to see and enjoy . There is alot to see , expect to be there for more than a few hours to truly enjoy and experience everything. The staff is supper friendly and knowledgeable. Your going to have to do alot of walking, so bring comfy shoes and if it's a hot day bring your water bottle they got place you can fill it up . Food is mid and pricey, but when your hungry anything and everything tastes good . Bring some sun screen too to protect yourself from those harmful sun rays . I had a great time petting the stingrays and feeding the birds . They have a little train too that you can take your kids on. Lots to see and enjoy . Throughout the day they have little shows where you can learn about the animals , very fun to watch . Hope you enjoy your time there .

It’s super spread out, a great place to get steps. Some animal enclosures were small and I came on a holiday so the crowds were thick—some animals appeared stressed. They had an impressive collection of venomous snakes which were very visible.

We enjoyed going to zoo's so we stopped here for the afternoon. It was a lot of construction at the zoo so some of the places that said a particular animal was going to be was not there. Maybe we missed the signs that said they're not there at this place, but we are following the map that we were given so that was a little confusing. The bathrooms that we did use were very clean and tidy. There was a couple places open to get some food. Very nice for the animals. We did the zoo in an afternoon but you could easily spend a day here looking. Because we do enjoy zoos. We have a zoo pass for our local zoo. It was disappointed that they were not part of the reciprocity for other zoos. You need to purchase your tickets from a kiosk or before you go. There was no one there to actually purchase tickets from

We really enjoyed our day at the Denver Zoo. Arrived around 11 and it took the entire day to see everything. Admission was reasonable. We appreciated that this zoo has indoor and outdoor viewing for most a-list animals so even on chilly days, there's a protected place to experience the zoo.

Fun first time at the Denver Zoo. The exhibits that were open were great. Penguins put on a show for us. They were so active and funny. Monkeys were the next big hit. As of early April 2024 there is a lot of construction going on in the zoo for new exhibits. There were several areas with no animals available. Still a great experience! We caught a flamingo trying to escape.

It was a perfect Spring day for the zoo. It wasn't very busy either. There were quite a few enclosures under construction but the animals that were out were super active. We had a minor first aid need and Tim took very good care of us. I had no idea the zoo had a little doctor office setting for first aid!

It is Awesome!! If you a photographer looking to build your portfolio or just find something to photograph, I highly recommend the zoo. You can get awesome photos and learn lots of cool things about the animals.
It’s very family oriented and well kept. They are constantly adding improvements and making it a safer and better place for our community.

Absolutely amazing! Plenty of animals to see even though there is construction happening. Tigers ... we were able to catch Viktor's feeding Viktor and Nikita are absolutely beautiful as well as the other animals. Take the time to see the animals towards the back around the construction area. If you don't like to wander there are maps available. Parking lot is usually full but there is more parking along the park side, not too far of a walk. Gift shop has great souvenirs.

It was a fun time for all! My mama hadn't been in over 20 years, so it was nice to have her join along. We enjoined all the animal exhibits! The animals are so amazing and beautiful to watch! The kids enjoyed the animal carousel as well. Parking wasn't bad, and the gift shop had a variety of animal stuffies, which was a plus. It was a great day, and I recommend to all of any age.

The Denver Zoo is a can't miss experience! They've really done an incredible job of creating an accessible park while prioritizing animal welfare. There are plenty of nature play areas for children and places to picnic with your family or simply sit and relax near their animals. The animal care staff and education team are all friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have. There are several flex exhibits, so occasionally the signage may not quite match the animal you see - but this is well worth it when you realize it means that animals such as the elephants and rhinos are getting healthy opportunities to experience different environments.
Note that tickets have a timed entry, so plan ahead!

Had a great time here. They had a good selection of animals and the whole zoo is mostly a giant loop so its easy to navigate. You do have to get your tickets ahead of time. Did that online and they just scanned the barcode when you go through the gates.
The Denver Museum of Nature and Science is a museum dedicated to the natural world with IMAX films, rotating exhibits, and more. The museum has separate exhibitions for children and adults, as well as an IMAX theater.
A friend suggested this place since we have younger children (8 and 5). They absolutely loved it and didn’t want to leave! It’s a three story museum with multiple exhibits. My kids loved the space one exhibit and the ancient history (dinosaur) the most. We went to the second floor to the discovery zone where the kids got to do all sorts of hands on activities. It is definitely an experience for children and adults! I would definitely recommend it.

Brought my grandfather here after some convincing him to get out of the house after my grandma died. He’s been very isolated so I thought the science museum would be a fun family outing. I even surprise bought tickets to the Egypt exhibit. My grandfather was super tickled pink when I brought him here. The first place I brought him was the Egypt exhibit. He LOVED it!!! He was so excited about the exhibit, consistently pulling me over to the exhibit in Egypt he was looking at. He would talk about it and give me little facts he knew. He overall had a fantastic time. We went through almost every exhibit but the planetarium. It was worth every single penny to see my grandpa smile the way he did in such a long time. It was very educational to both of us. If you want something super cool and learn, come here. There is also tons of stuff for kids to adults to do. Their exhibits are super educational and so much to see and look at. If I lived in Denver I’d definitely come back more to see the planetarium and other new exhibits this place offered.

This is a pretty nice museum. There is a ton of taxidermy though which takes up a lot of real estate, and I'd rather see other things. The dinosaur area is pretty neat, and their temporary guitar exhibit was cool! I'd say this museum is worth a visit.

Honestly, five stars is not enough for the value of this museum. It is so packed with great exhibits that it really requires multiple trips to appreciate fully. Great for families. Dinosaurs, mummies, wildlife, gems and minerals, theaters for films, and much more. Something for everyone. I keep going back and always see things I missed the time before. Don't try to see it all in one visit-impossible. But if you only have one opportunity to see it, plan for several hours.

We came here for a summer vacation from Frisco TX. And we are happy that we went to the museum. The museum is very engaging, informative, and big for all ages. We almost spent 4-5 hours in the museum and also went to the planetary science movie, which is around 25 minutes and it was amazing. And if you talk about price, it’s not that pricey and worth to visiting. Totally recommended 👍🏻

The staff at this museum are helpful and accommodating. They are the nicest folks. I was walking across downtown Denver with a large backpack when I stopped in, and the security staff helped me secure the pack safely so I could enjoy the museum. The front desk staff were also up front about the different types of discount admission available. The museum content is world class.

Cannot wait to go back! My daughter and I went on a FREE day and yes it was crowded but not to a point that I wouldn’t do it again. Stunning Dinosaur Exhibit and watching the Archaeological Work in action was fascinating. We saw the Living Color exhibit and we both had so much fun. Lots of interaction for all age and ability groups. We had to leave and missed the other exhibit but again, we both can’t wait to go back.

I took my kids it was only $1 each to go with my EBT card. Totally fun. They always have good learning exhibits. We didn't have to wait in line. We went around 3pm. They close at 5 so not enough time to do it all. Next time we will go earlier. Love that they had lockers. It was so cold that we had our coats but didn't want to carry them so we used a locker. Also the gift shop is always fun. A little pricey on things though. But all in all a great time.

We take our toddlers a few times a month, and they love running around the different exhibits. The Discover Zone is usually our final stop (they usually get wet w the water table), but the Space area is top notch. The planetarium is a nice treat. Very thoughtfully curated Museum to stimulate learning.

They have free days so make sure to check their website for those days. You can reserve timed tickets online to ensure you get a spot, but it wasn’t packed when I went.
The museum exhibits are on three stories, but there is also a fourth floor that gives access to a balcony with a great view of the Denver skyline.
There’s a great gem and mineral exhibit with a lot of things found here in Colorado.
A lot of things are geared towards children, but it’s interesting for adults and would be a nice date night.

Went on a whim because we had a few hours to kill. We have a reciprocal pass from our local museum so that was awesome (we were going either way). Tons of energy and kids there when we went. Was so great to see everyone so happy. For our 3 year old it was perfect. (Let her walk a ton and get tired). For us adults not a ton of different things compared to other science museums in big cities except for the huge rock collection they have on the first floor. Overall very easy to get in and out and free parking (can’t say the same for Dallas)

Free parking open and garage they even had free EV charging stations. A must place to visit.

Went to the museum on free museum day, and although it was busy, it was a great experience. It's right across the street from a city bus, so it's pretty easy to get to. There are elevators, if you are in a wheelchair, and escalators if you prefer that. However, the dining situation is a tad bit confusing. Overall, it's a really interesting place to visit.

We had a fun time at DMNS exploring the exhibits about dinosaurs and mummies and the kids played in the Discovery Zone. The kids, ages 7 and 10, got a kick out of riding the escalators and seeing how they work from the display on the side. Cleaning sand and dirt off of "fossils" in the Prehistoric Journey (dinosaurs and early mammals) exhibit was a big hit for them. Plus, we got a family membership today, so many more visits are on the agenda.

The Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum is a museum which preserves the history of Lowry AFB operations from 1938 to 1994. The museum has a large collection of aircraft, including American bombers and space vehicles, as well as an excellent research library. The museum runs educational programs such as Wings Aerospace Science Program (WASP), Kid Space, and Air & Space Camp for children of all ages.
Very well done. Self-guided tour let's you get up close and personal with all the aircraft. Starting with the B-52 outside to the B-1 Lancer inside, it is a walk through aviation history. I mean seriously, they have a B-1 inside the building. The planes are meticulously restored and very well displayed. Admission is very reasonable and and you are not rushed at all. There were a lot of people there when we went but it never felt crowded. If you are even mildly interested in aviation, this is a must-see.

There is a plethora of information and an impressive display of aircraft at the museum. The volunteer staff have a great deal of knowledge are are very friendly. I have to say that since I have been to other museums (Pima in Tuscon & the Smithson in DC) I cannot say this is the best I have experienced. I know that this is a great collection for our location so I am rating it 5 stars. Very interesting & informative for all ages ..... I loved it!

There's a plethora of information available as you walk through the museum. Almost every aircraft has some interesting details about it. It was cool to see some Star Wars models. They even had a model of the inside of the ISS station. You could also get on a flight simulator that costs about 10 bucks. Great place to bring the kids to do their activities. They had paper airplanes and paper rockets 🚀. Overall, fun place to visit 5/5.

What an amazing performance! If you get the chance, absolutely go! My wife is a cellist and I’m a bassist and as musicians, we loved the talent every member of the quartet brought to the table. They all had their own features and their own moments they took the lead. It was all impeccable! Great intros and humor from the quartet members, the phenomenal acoustics of the airplane hangar, and the delicate ambiance of the candlelight made this an experience to remember. We loved it!

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid after moving up to Colorado from Atlanta Georgia I always liked coming here and seeing the old airplanes and other aircraft that they have here I noticed when I was here on the 23rd of September of this year that this place has changed significantly since I was here ten years ago and that it looks a lot better than when I first started coming here back in the early 2000s and what I mean by that statement is that back then I noticed that the building had a more run down look to it unlike now where it looks more modern but also that was back in the early 2000s the place had been abandoned by the U.S. Air Force a little over 10 years prior I also noticed that some things were missing like the astronaut hanging from the ceiling and the glider that looked like a giant bird I also noticed that the museum is only in one of the two hangars I don’t understand why they didn’t have it in both and build a rectangular building down the center of both buildings connecting them and having an even bigger museum but whatever it doesn’t matter the flight simulator was incredible other than the 12 dollars it cost to ride it the x wing was really cool to see back when I first started coming here I remember there was an older lady who was at the gift shop I don’t remember her name but i always remember her being very friendly with me and my mom And while on that subject the gift shop back then had much better stuff unlike when I went this past time where it looked like it was full of just regular generic stuff you would see at just about any gift shop the only thing that looked appealing to me was the die cast hot wings planes I even bought one of the die cast planes I ended up getting the space shuttle but I guess you don’t go to museums for the gift shops but for the exhibits other than that it was a good experience I bought a. Membership so I’m definitely planning on returning hopefully with my two younger brothers who have never been here before but I know they would enjoy it just as much as I do this place honestly made me remember how much I love aviation

So great for everyone! The early aircraft here help you appreciate all the modern advances. I really appreciate that. They describe the basics of a jet engine, and principles such as left in a way that was really easy to understand. I felt like I left a Museum with new knowledge and not just a fun experience… but I did have lots of fun, too. The admission price was well worth it. The staff is friendly and the bathrooms were clean. Easy parking.

What a great exhibit. I'm only giving 4 stars because the mezzanine wasn't open so I could look down on the F-14. My first love. Went on a Monday. Plenty of volunteers there for information but almost no visitors. We took our time and read through all the displays as well as were able to really look at the aircraft. Gift shop is small but well stocked and there are several flight simulators which require payment. Mostly contains military aircraft but has a good smathering of others. Some really interesting planes here. You can easily spend several hours here.

This place is a wonderful tribute to our air force throughout the years. Coming from a military family, I appreciate the history lessons. If you enjoy reading through the exhibits, give yourself extra time.
My first visit was early 2000s. Since then they have closed the steps that allowed access to view the cockpits. The gift shop has more trinkets for kids than anything else. Very few gifts that have to do with the museum or the air force.

Not what you think. Very simple hanger of planes. Probably awesome for the plane and aerospace enthusiast but nothing else for others. My kids were excited at first but then it got boring really fast. The simulators had a 2 hour wait and cost extra and the ones that were on display were out of order. I do not recommend this place. We should have gone to the nature and science museum instead- more to see and do.

Excellent place to go with the family. This museum has a ton of aircraft to include some iconic platforms that are super neat to get close to. I recommend bringing snacks and water if you have kids, the place is huge and no real snack bar. Make sure you park in the museum parking and not the Extra Space Storage parking lot.

This place isn’t as big as Palm Springs or Pima, but the planes and helicopters on display are almost in flight condition, with all the cockpit avionics in place. My wife arrived on an open cockpit day, with the actual pilots of the planes talking about their experiences and answering questions.
I’m only giving it 4 stars as the day we went has a drone competition running which felt like all the planes had been push back and squashed together to make space in the middle for it.
The old control tower was also a disappointment as it was just an empty room, it felt light being in a studio apartment and the views we were sold of the mountains didn’t really exist.
The B-1lancer was the star of the show and it’s nice there are two levels to view the planes from. The staff are really nice and the entire museum is indoors, so it’s a great place if the weather is bad. There is plenty of parking also. I just wish there was a bit more on display and the shops sold kits or models on the planes on display - which would have been a nice touch.

First and foremost, the wings at Wings Over Rockies left an indelible impression on my taste buds. The flavors were exquisite, and the perfect balance of seasoning made each bite a delightful revelation. I must commend your talented kitchen staff for their culinary expertise.
Beyond the culinary delights, the atmosphere of your establishment is nothing short of remarkable. The attention to detail in the decor and layout creates an ambiance that is both inviting and comfortable. The knowledgeable and friendly staff further enhance the experience, providing excellent service that is second to none.
Moreover, I was thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness and organization throughout the premises. From the entrance to the dining area, everything was immaculate, ensuring a pleasant environment that truly enhances the overall dining experience.
Lastly, I would like to express my gratitude for the promptness and efficiency in arrangements. Despite the popularity of your establishment, the wait time was minimal, a testament to the excellent management skills of your team.
All in all, Wings Over Rockies exceeded my expectations in every aspect. I highly recommend this extraordinary place to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience. Thank you for providing a haven for wing enthusiasts.

If you enjoy Vivaldi's 4 Seasons at all, this unique candlelight concert in the Air & Space Museum does not disappoint!
Be sure to arrive early enough to check out the museum. We were pleasantly surprised to see an X-wing fighter amidst the exhibits.
TIPS:
If sitting is a challenge, bring a cushion as the chairs are not comfortable.
Be sure to arrive early, the concert starts at exactly 9:15, and the lights go out at that moment.
Museum explores natural history with interactive exhibits, art galleries & Extreme Screen films.
All the staff was so nice and the kids loved it. We spent about four hours there. I would have given four stars but the fish tour, the animal encounter, and the offer for a special tour by Mr. Carl brings it up to a five stars. Definitely do the extra stuff to bring your visit up a notch. Kid's favorites were the fish, the moving fake animals and the play zone. My favorite part was the stellar art section, and the fact that as we went through the exhibits we could see them from several angles. Cannot believe the one star review complained about the gift shop, it was small but nice, staff was nice, and who goes to a museum to shop anyway, not I. A beautiful place inside and out, and we will visit again.

Hosted a workshop here and they did a great job! Very professional and on top of things. I worked with Brandi, and she is great!! The catering setup was great, classrooms were very nicely setup and maintained, all A/V equipment worked perfectly, and the dessert display was phenomenal!
2 minor things: 1-museum exhibits are not open during the evenings for just a classroom rental. 2-catering is a little more expensive than Panera or Corner Bakery, but having everything setup, ready to go, and tasting great is worth it. Definitely recommend using CU South Denver!

This place is amazing and a really great place to take the family. Genius level creativity behind some of these sculptures, they're very well thought out and detailed. My wife and teenage kids lived it so it's an all around win.

This was the coolest place to check out if you like odd and unusual metal art. Be careful to not miss it, it’s tucked away and behind corporate America. It is astounding that a place like this runs purely off of donations.

Quirky little roadside stop. Worth a 30 min-1 hr walk around the premises. Some neat and creative pieces of art. Not sure I'd want to be out there at night, but an interesting daytime detour.

So cool, free admission but donation kindly recommended. We met the creator of this fascinating zoo. A legend for sure, he has been creating these creatures all his life! 😯
Expansive park with hiking trails, rock climbing walls, wildlife viewing opportunities & more.
Fantastic area to hike and run. There's a good amount of parking there, with a few restrooms/portas at the lots. A big loop will take you around 6-7 miles, but you can go smaller loops or even a simple out and back - the scenery is pretty regardless. Enjoy some quality outdoors time out here.

Beautiful state park! We explored mostly the surface because our daughter is still fairly small. But she enjoyed the playground and managed to walk down and back up from the creek. There were mosquitoes at the bottom so plan accordingly. Parking is $10 but definitely worth stopping to see all the natural beauty this spot has to offer.

Pros:
Really, really beautiful scenery. Plenty of hikes. There is a dam and you can hike parallel to a creek. At one point you have to cross the creek which makes it a little adventurous. Overall, the hikes are mild to moderate and kids of all ages can do it easily. There are plenty of picnic area, some spots have sheds, and plenty of parking. Dog friendly.
Cons:
Most of the hiking trails are in open so if it's sunny, you will feel the sun. Carry plenty of water.

Absolutely stunning park. Gorgeous views. The trail into the canyon does have some steep footing but go slow and you should be fine.

I thought I'd try a trail run this morning on the 4 mile East trail. I quickly realized that parts of the trail were challenging to find. I was grateful for the piles of rocks/stacked rocks marking the trail. Needles to say it's not a great trail running 'trail' in several spots, but it was a great trail! I'll be back when I have more time to wander in there. I'd definitely recommend it as a hike. I'm adding a few pictures that look like landscape when they are actually part of the trail (they're obviously not the ones with a paved sidewalk or view of the canyon). I also added a quick video from under the bridge, I thought it was cool how they made space to go under the highway. The stacked rocks were my guide! I got a little lost in one area and noticed when I backtracked that the stacked rocks were toppled over, so I really did depend on them. If you hike this trail, watch for the trail markers and give yourself plenty of time, and most of all enjoy the journey!

This state park is the scene of a dam failure in 1933. The canyon is filled with rock formations with Cherry Creek running below, it provides a great habitat for a variety of wildlife. There is a viewing platform near the bridge. There are two accesses to the park, the main one off CO 83 and the 2nd off CO 86 coming out of Franktown. From CO83 you can really explore the Canyon. From the CO86 side, you can see the failed Dam and the homestead. There are several beautiful trails on this side also. Both sides have plenty to explore. You can't drive from one side to the other, but you can hike.

Very near to centennial Colorado. It took me and my son 2hrs 30min to do a loop from castlewood state park parking towards the mountain in middle you see one side of dam and then post looping down and back you see other end of the dam. We also came across a rattle snake on the trail so took pictures and maneuvered around it. It was hot but it rained a bit that kept the temperatures down. Loop is around 6 miles and runs around many bridges with flowing water. Scenes down hill are also amazing. Nice to do this trails over weekend.

Our family loves this place. Great trail with wildlife and greenery. Dog friendly and family friendly. With picnic areas and public restroom. Lovely creek and educational posts along the trail way. Watch out for cactus, mountain lions, poison ivy, and snakes.

We were looking for somewhere along our route south of Denver where we could get in a short hike. We found Castlewood canyon to enjoy a 2 mile hike. We were happy we stopped.

One of the most beautiful places that I've been in a really long time. My boyfriend took me for my birthday he is so amazing he knows exactly what I love to do it took an hour for us the hike through the canyon and I absolutely loved it I would recommend it to anyone it's a little dangerous for someone who's not familiar with hiking or has the proper Footwear so make sure you get ready before you go

This is a beautiful park with a lot of history. My daughter loves looking at the old buildings and the plaques describing what they were used for. There are a lot of trails criss-crossing around so be careful not to get lost. I also love the way the park smells in the spring there are so many wildflowers and Russian olive trees and it smells amazing here. The trails are very easy with slight changes to elevation and only a few trip hazards here and there. Just take care not to go off trail because there are cacti.

What a great find!!! The upper trails are very easy, wheelchair/stroller accessible! Once you go down into the gorge it’s absolutely stunning, more rugged and the stream is so bubbly! I didn’t make it to the dam site..next time! Highly recommend!

Moderate hiking trails (with a lot of paved walkways) through a beautiful state park full of unusual lobed "cobble" rock formations and the ruins of a mass century dam. Because it's a little off the beaten path, there are few other hikers. Dogs allowed on certain trails. And the visitor's center was a delight, with Sid & Nancy (two bull snakes) and Tig (a tiger salamander) on view.
Daniel McGee — Google review
This is an amazing trek around the cherry creek canyon. The trail is known for bird sightings and a great hike. Entry will cost you $10 and they have plenty of parking space and restrooms near the visitor center. Compared to other great trails across the region it may not the best but worth visiting once for an early morning hike. Do not carry your bikes or skateboard.

Absolutely gorgeous area! Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to stop and explore before heading to the airport. The scenic drive was fantastic, low-stress, and riddled with wondrous sights to behold! The plains appear vast, in comparison to the mountains in the west.

It's amazing that there are so many state parks so close to the city of Denver. We just got chance to explore only two of them. This is a unique place in that you will be on flat land one minute and the next you are seeing these beautiful canyon made by cherry creek. We had a great time hiking some beautiful trails within the park and saw lots of birds, wild flowers and some nice people along the way.

Nice place to visit, walk and hike around. Saw several people with dogs, beautiful birds and completely brush and trees. I could see this as a great place for a wedding, with beautiful views all around. Misty people stop at the first two parking lots to see the gazebo you can see from the highway. But make sure you go ask the way back further to the west. Great place for picnics with places for covered gatherings

Beautiful place. Been here many times, but this was the first time when the trails were covered in snow. Walked to the old dam, excellent. Another great Colorado state park.

Big rock, shallow canyon, river walk, bird watching, cliff dwelling, 3 ish mile hike with moderate terrain. Ice lasts a bit into spring in some spots. A very pleasant way to spend a few hours outside, in nature, subsurface exploring with the family. Great place to bring a picnic. Leave no trace.

A hidden gem! From the road you catch yourself thinking “there’s no way there’s anything good out there. Its flat for miles!” WRONG. As soon as you enter the park, you drive into a lovely canyon! Wonderful trails and views! Don’t skip out on this State Park!

What a great place to go for easy hiking and viewing the wonders of Colorado scenery. On the East side entrance there is a nice visitors center, great parking with nice paved pathways winding though the rocky landscape. We saw a lot of beautiful wildflowers, magnificent rock formations, cactus, and interesting trees. One of my favorites was the large grasses lining the pathways. some of them were still green, but some of them were turning fall colors of purple, red, pink, orange, & yellow. Take the time to look closely at the natural little rock gardens.
Aurora Reservoir is a sprawling 800-acre water body offering various recreational activities such as fishing, swimming, and non-motorized boating. Visitors can enjoy paddle boarding or rent kayaks to explore the reservoir. The park also features an archery range and picnic shelters for gatherings. While it can get busy during peak times like July 4th weekend, the water is generally clean with designated swimming areas and lifeguards on duty.
This reservoir is a great place to spend time with family and friends. A group of friends and I went fishing and had a great time. Bathrooms were clean and the staff was friendly. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for a good place to spend time outside.

As a native of Colorado, surprisingly, I've never been here. I came out for a birthday party and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of open space on the beach and throughout the park. There was plenty of parking, paved ramps leading to the beach, and not too many people swimming in the dedicated swimming area. The restrooms were clean, and so was the beach. There were several lifeguards on deck. You can also rent shaded gazebos for parties and whatnot.

My favorite place to hike and fish close to home, always clean bathrooms and trails, the rangers and staff make you feel welcome and the most amazing they will move out of the trails making sure you and your dog are safe. They take always time to answer and educate yourself about this beautiful place in Colorado.

Great place to catch some sun. They have a beach area. You can rent paddle boards or kayaks per hour. Kayaks are $20 an hour. The time flys so keep track of your time on the water. Lots of parking. Definitely highly recommend this location to chill with family or friends. Come check it out to cool off.

Busy on July 4th weekend. Water appears clean. Swimming area is small and crowded but a separate lap swimming area was available. Lifeguards were on duty. $10/vehicle to enter. Kayaks/paddle boards available to rent. Electric motor boats only. Dogs allowed on grassy area only (not on sand). Families bring tents and grills as well as speakers so expect dueling soundtracks. Bathrooms are gross but not terrible (not the worse that I’ve seen at a public beach) and only foot showers available.

An incredible reservoir/beach/park that has everything you need for a great weekend beach visit (for Colorado). A purchased day pass or season pass is required to get in, but the season pass is very well priced for a whole year of access to this body of water! Went last week with our dog to learn the area and it was a great time not even getting in the water at all. This weekend we went out early to go paddle boarding/kayaking and the experience was next to none. Beautiful calm blue water and great views of Colorado that stretches for miles completes the experience of a great boating session! I anticipate many more visits here as this small little area packs a lot of fun!

Fun sandy beach for a summer swim. Water in July was a little cool but perfectly swimmable. There's a playground for little ones and separated shallow wading area, swimming lanes, and boat area.
Scott Woods — Google review
The reservoir is a staple in the community. I was a little surprised to see that they raised the weekend price to 15$ instead of the standard 10$ no matter the day. regardless we took our paddle board, our kayaks, canoes and dog to the beach. Dogs are allowed as long as they stay on the opposite side of the white fence ( not on the actual beach) but it’s still pretty close to the water line where we were swimming/using the water products. There is many people on the water using kayaks and canoes, the same rules stand that only electric motors are allowed , nothing with gas or chemicals like that. Good to know that they continue to care for the well being of the water quality. The quality of the bathrooms were also quite nice. Very clean and multiples stalls available. Very nice place to spend the day with family and friends.

A definite respet from the daily grind. Quiet and quant during the week. Lively and happening on weekends. The lake is amazing... especially without motorized boats... a very tranquil experience paddle boarding. Great picnic places and a beautiful walking trail around the lake.

The stunning lake boasts crystal clear water free from gas motors, making it the perfect spot to catch a glimpse of a giant rainbow trout. With two state fish records already under its belt, it's only a matter of time before this becomes a gold medal fishing spot. The eight-mile loop surrounding the lake offers breathtaking views of the natural surroundings and a plethora of wildlife sightings. Keep an eye out for deer, antelope, coyotes, snakes, bald eagles, and a variety of fascinating water birds that call this area home. Each moment spent exploring this beautiful landscape is sure to be unforgettable.

Absolutely the best place to go!! It wasn't crowded at all. The water levels where low but what can you expect when there hasn't been any rain. The beach was clean and there was life guards and park rangers on duty. Everyone was having a good time.Glad I found this place.
The Colorado Model Railroad Museum is a historical institution that showcases exhibits of railway artifacts and features an impressive 3D model railroad exhibit. The museum displays intricate details and fun hidden surprises, such as tiny moving chickens. Visitors can easily spend several hours exploring the museum's vast collection and admiring the craftsmanship required to construct such a grand scale model railroad system. The different sections of the exhibit seamlessly blend together, allowing visitors to imagine themselves as passengers on the train while following its route.
Breathtaking details and fun little hidden gems are sure to be found at the Colorado Model Railroad Museum. (One of my favorites are the tiny little chickens that move. Reminded me of the chickens I had when I was little!) We spent about 2.5 hours here looking at everything and I know that there are tons of details that we probably missed! Just a great appreciation for the time, effort, and ingenuity it takes to design and build a grand scale model railroad system. Each section blends well with the one next to it and I found myself following the train and trying to imagine what it might be like if I were a passenger on the train. My imagination was soaring! We look forward to our next visit!

I was in awe when I walked through the door. I did watch a few YouTube videos of the place before visiting and I must say the videos doesn’t do it justice. I have waited for too many years before visiting this wonderland. I could have spent all day there. Although it is 59 miles from my home, I will visit it again. It has one of the best layouts that I have ever seen. The quality of the diorama is top notch. Don’t wait any longer. Go, you will not be disappointed. Sorry I moved all my pictures to my laptop to enjoy them on a bigger screen.

Very cool museum! This layout is massive. There is so much detail, and what a fun experience! The wife really enjoyed it, too. We drove an hour to see this place, spent 3 hours there, and can't wait to return. Well worth the trip!

This is such an amazing museum! On Fridays and Saturdays, it is common to have one or two dozen volunteers operating trains. They all have radios, and obey over 150 signals on the layout. It takes about one hour for a train to go around the massive setup.
Check the museum's website as they have special themed events every few weeks. The place is expanding with outdoor exhibits coming soon.
Kids and adults will enjoy the scavenger hunt to see details in the scenery. Train enthusiasts will enjoy the realism of the historic trains.
I am a pilot, so I was fascinated with the Dispatcher and traffic controls required to operate so many trains at once.

I'm a train guy.....and my expectations aren't high. I have been to plenty of model railroad exhibits, swap meets, and even some museums, none of which can't even come close to comparing to this piece of history circa 1970's in the northwest corridor and pushing a tad modern. These guys really know how to put on a really quality realistic show of extremely talented ho scale model train workmanship. This is definitely something every train lover should see. From wall to wall, it exhibits examples of different scale sizes to different manufacturers, to all kinds of railroadania. It also includes a train simulated style screen from a locomotive that is running a on the layout, that allows you to see first person viewing, and they have a real ctc system dispatched by a real dispatch opperater and it icludes a full sized real caboose you can climb up into and have a look around. This is a very big display not big enough to get lost in but definitely big enough to encompass such an amazing train display.
You won't be disappointed at all. Go have a look for yourself and enjoy!!
Rehabilitation & rescue center for animals such as lions, tigers, bears & wolves, open to visitors.
We had an amazing visit to the sanctuary. We arrived with absolutely no expectations to see any of the rescue animals that they have but we're blown away to have been graced with the presence of many. The volunteers are very knowledgeable and it's a good way to get some exercise in on your hike. What a blessing we will be going back!

Incredible animal sanctuary! Its definitely worth the trip to see these magnificent animals up close. It’s also really interesting and inspiring to learn about the amazing work the sanctuary is doing in order to provide a safe haven for all these beautiful animals.
I really enjoyed speaking with a volunteer. He was very friendly but also a wealth of knowledge and taught me so much about the different animals, their stories and how the sanctuary strives to create a safe and comfortable forever home for all the animals regardless of their age or situation.
I would highly recommend renting or bringing binoculars. Some of the animals are easy to see but others can be seen more easily with the binoculars. Plan to spend several hours here as there are hundreds of animals.
They do have two small restaurants where you can purchase drinks and snacks if you get hungry/thirsty. They also have several conveniently located restrooms throughout the sanctuary.
A wonderful sanctuary doing amazing work!

Beautiful animals that we well cared for! Two MUSTS: 1. binoculars, 2. patience. This isn't a zoo where you are face to face with the animals behind glass. You have a birds eye view of them in very large natural habitats. Some of the tigers are in smaller enclosures for medical care or because they are newly rescued. You do get a pretty up close view of them. Staff and volunteers were all friendly and knowledgeable. Drove up from the Springs and it was worth the trip on a sunny, cool spring day.

*Must have plan for binoculars* you will not make the most of your ticket/experience unless you either bring your own or pay a few bucks to rent them there. You’ll see SO much more with binoculars/monocular. I seriously cannot imagine doing this visit without magnification.
Please keep in mind this is not a zoo. The animals are peacefully living in their massive natural habitats. It’s an amazing experience to see so many animals now given the best life possible.
I’d recommend waiting until kids are at an age for a 2 hour attention span with animals farish away. They have awesome accessibility and offer motorized power chairs to rent for those who might struggle with the walk.

What a fantastic place to see! Earlier in the morning provided us with lots of animals storing, walking around and just soaking up the sun. We say new baby foxes, tigers, lions, ligers, bears and a variety of wolf, coyotes, and other beautiful cats. Don’t forget to look for the camels.
Debbie Hunt — Google review
We took our kids there and had a great time! I was unsure what to expect but it was incredible. My 17 year old and 11 year old both had a super fun time!
We easily saw MANY beautiful and fun exotic animals from the safety of the walkway and yet the animals were roaming freely and safely in habitats that allow them significantly healthier and freer than what I’ve seen at zoos. Rescued tigers, foxes, bobcats, lions, bears, ostriches, emus, wolves, lynxes, and more.
It’s a drive to get there but worth it! Plan to do a lot of walking. But the time flew by and before we knew it we had easily spent over two hours enjoying the park.
We had good luck with the weather. Might be less enjoyable on really hot or really cold days because you’re outside, exposed to the elements most of the time.
They said mornings are the best because the animals are usually more active. That definitely seemed the case for us. By the time we left around lunch, many of the animals were napping in the sun.
It’s not inexpensive ($50/adult) but seems like a great cause and was worth it for us to see so many awesome animals rescued and taken care of.

The Wild Animal Sanctuary was awesome. We had a really good time. It's great how everything they do is centered around making the animals comfortable and healthy. We spent more time on the walk than we planned because we spent so much time enjoying watching the animals. Definitely worth the drive and the walk. The indoor entrance has plenty of bathrooms and a great little cafe, gift shop and ice cream shop. All of these areas are clean and inviting. Going in mid May the weather was perfect. The visit was worth the $50 day pass and I would gladly come again.

We had a great visit to the Wild Animal Sanctuary. We got there at opening and spent a delightful 3 hours. The volunteers were great and explained the animals and answered questions.
You should bring binoculars or rent them from WAS. There are a few animals close by, but most animals are best seen through binoculars. I always wondered where the large animals that are rescued go, and now I know. Many of them are here.
The big surprise is that the food in the Lions Den Cafe is actually pretty good. It is definitely better than your average zoo food. We all enjoyed our lunches.
Take the 50 minute drive from Denver and experience this jewel of a wildlife sanctuary.

This was a pretty cool experience but I thought it was extremely expensive for what it was. We did have a great time and I would consider going back but $50/adult and $30/kid is a lot for a family of 4. It took a while for our girls to enjoy themselves but once we got going and started seeing more animals they became more interested. We were some of the last people there as the park was closing and the sun was setting which actually ended up being a treat for us because many of the lions and bears were rawring and it could be heard from all over the park. So that was pretty unique. Overall I’m glad we did it but it will be a while until we return because of the high prices.

This is the best experience I’ve had since living in Colorado the past 2.5 years. Incredible wildlife, staff, and facilities. Highly recommend bringing or investing in binoculars to make the experience that much better, however they do provide you with a monocular that you get to keep. Staff is incredible and passionate about the animals. My crew spent over 5 hours here and we easily could have spent 2 more. Other than the animals in the sanctuary we saw wild fox, bald and golden eagles flying by. 11/10 experience, we’ll see you soon!!

This beat my expectations. We had family friends in town and were looking for things to do with a 13 year old. We decided on the Wild Animal Sanctuary and went at 4:30pm because we heard going closer to dusk you had the chance to hear the animals start to rawr - and we absolutely did (it sounded unreal). The prices are obviously more than going to a zoo but we all felt fine with that since the money went to a good cause. This sanctuary is helping rescue so many abused animals. Our group did bring binoculars but I saw so much without them I probably only used them 3 times - but I imagine this can differ by times of day, etc. Amazing place.

Such an amazing place that rescues animals no matter the size or shape. The volunteers took the time to explain the animals situations and the care they get. Just an amazing experience. A great museum with a huge collection of artifacts from geology, fashion, farm implements, early household appliances, you name it! Even early buildings such as a blacksmith shop, gas station, home, general store, barbershop, etc.
This place is awesome! Never seen anything quite like it. The beach is HUGE with a ton of different bay areas. It was neat you could drive on the beach, although I did not as I do not have 4wd. There were some cars on the beach, did see one get stuck and have to get pulled out. The water was clean. Although I personally wore water-shoes cause there were a lot of sticks and stuff. Remember to clean up after yourself! Did pick up some trash around me.

I've been to Lake Mac for a number of years now but my Wife's side has been going since the 80s. There is a lot to love about this place. Sand is soft, water is nice, camp on the beach and have campfires, plenty of room on the lake to bring a boat or Jet Ski. Plenty of fun and relaxing time to be had.
Russell Maysey — Google review
Lake Mac is beautiful. We were on beach #9 with our doggos. They loved swimming with us. There are people on boats and jet skiis. There are tons of places to camp if you want to stay overnight. We come here during the winter and my kids/boyfriend will walk on the ice. There are some spots you can hike on as well. During the summer we love kayaking with the dogs. We've had bonfires and breakfast at the lake too.
For anyone looking to get a hike in before a swim this is a good place to go.
Audrey Valdivia — Google review
We camped for three days and two nights, and loved the place. Be careful with the weather change from 6 to 9 pm. The wind can take everything away. Bring the v (yellow plastic or orange metal) stakes. The sand is wet enough to give nice anchoring, but the regular stakes won’t hold your tent. The lake can get super chopped during hard winds, but at any other time, is it amazing for paddling. The water temperature is always good. Never as cold as The waters in Boulder. If you’re coming driving your SUV, don’t ever stop. Lock the AWD and keep moving. If you stop, you’re dead. You will definitely have to be pulled out by a tractor. No shadow whatsoever, so bring plenty of shade. No flies at any moment, but mosquitos swarm during night time wherever there’s a light.

Not that great unless you fish or like beach camping. Low water levels. Enjoyed driving on beach. Be cautious.

Always have a great time out here! Lake is a bit low this year but the beaches are even bigger. If you have the chance make your way up to LeMoyne and check out Admiral's Cove Restaurant and Bar. They also have lodging. Otter Creek Lodge up the road is a great place for breakfast as well. Nothing beats the white sand beaches!

Love this lake! We go every summer and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Word of warning if you stay on the beach the hours of quiet time are not enforced so loud neighbors are no joke. Only complaint, otherwise will still be there every summer...just moving away from any kind of neighbors.

This is our new annual gem.
I was looking for a new camping area since we have explored so much of CO WY NM KS UT and somehow stumbled upon this must go to lake.
I have always dreamed of this but thought I'd have to travel across the world to do this, but we drove on the sand, camped and even made a fire all on the beach. Every day all we did was wake up and walk right to the water and play on all the different beach areas.
Its quiet, clean and pretty. The people/local businesses were kind and friendly. Stop by Admirals Cove.
It was one of the best trips we have ever gone on and we have traveled the world. It was only hours away. Just goes to show you don't have to go far or spend a lot of money to have an awesome time.
We can't wait to go back.

By far the best place to spend quality time with large groups of friends, plenty of shade and sand. We go there every year for the last 20 years now. just remember to leave only your footprints

Anytime you can drive onto the beach it’s a great time. Certain areas the sand is hard and cars were driving down no problems. If you wanna enter from less obvious locations you will need 4WD but no need to air down. However I didn’t go exploring either. This is an excellent location but the beach needs to be cleaned. A lot of broken glass and litter. I can see how things could get dangerous on the weekends or holidays with people partying and what not. I arrived on a Monday afternoon and wasn’t bad at all.
The IDP Sicario — Google review
Beautiful lake with a lot of things to do around, so many campsite available, you can camp right on the beach. The view is amazing, water is clean. The reason I’m not giving 5 stars because we didn’t sleep well at night, so drunk campers were camping at night, they were super loud and played with the fireworks in the campfire until early morning.

Nebraska's largest reservoir is a summer time playground in the Midwest. Surrounded by farms, and close (20min) to the town of Ogalla, you will find a lake that allows people to park their cars, campers, and boats on the beach. Be forewarned you will need to arrange a tow with the locals to get most campers on the beach due to the sandy access that you have to drive through. I strongly advise front and rear wheel drives park at the entrance to the beach and walk down. 4WD is a must and clearance is needed. Once there you will find friendly people enjoying sandy beaches and bottoms, mild water temps, and great fishing. They allow most water sports including kite boarding. Respect this resource and please haul everything out that you brought in. Enjoy the water!

Where do you start? We LOVE THIS PLACE!! A short 4 hr drive from our home and we feel like we have reached our vacation destination. The white sand & clean water make for a relaxing time to enjoy watersports. Everyone is friendly & it feels like they are really enjoying the lake life! Our family has been coming here for years and each time is better than the last. We have Big Mac Marina pull our trailer to the beach and spend a week playing in the sand and enjoying the amazing sunsets. I used to hear about this place and couldn't believe the amazing environment until I saw it myself!! If you are looking to get away and play in the water- this is the place to go!

Golden Spike Tower

Tower with open-air & enclosed observation areas for viewing the sprawling rail yard below.
The facility is awesome, the entire staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and Mick, the 42-year Union Pacific veteran (and fellow Army veteran) who was up in the tower the day I visited was incredibly insightful and a wealth of knowledge about railroading in general and the Union Pacific specifically. One word of warning, when you research the tower online you get many results that say it is closed Fridays and Saturdays when that is not true at all. The facility is open 7 days a week, but call in advance to make sure it's open when you plan to visit. I only had about an hour and a half that I could stay, but I could have easily spent one or two full days viewing and mostly talking to the the people who spent their lives working for their railroad.

A really neat experience, at the largest train depot, if you like trains, shipping, or processes.
For a relatively low fee you can watch from an 8 story tower the operations across 212 tracks, 8 miles long and 2 miles wide. The processing depot for 135 trains a day head d between the Pacific and east of the Mississippi.
The best part was the guide explaining everything and answering all of the questions. Also watching the gravity driven train car sorting over the east and west humps was really neat.
Not for everyone, but those who find this intriguing, will likely love it.

What an interesting surprise! We enjoyed seeing the largest railroad yard, learning about how it works, and meeting the docent, Ben, who is retired from the RR, but patiently answered our questions. Thank you, Ben! It's fascinating how much logistics go into that mode of transportation from the past and even still in the present. We also learned about the North Platte Canteen and the Orphan Trains...you just never know what you'll learn!

It's a neat little place to see all the train lines and how they meet. The admission price though is a bit much for what you get--an elevator ride to a viewing area and a gift shop. The bathrooms are very clean which is a bonus.

For a train fan, this is the place to visit. We attended during Rail Road days and enjoyed a Bailey Yard tour.
The tower gives a great view of the Bailey Yard as well as the surrounding area. We were able to watch a storm arrive from the west.
There are information boards about the local history.
The gift shop does have interesting and unique items.
I highly recommend for train fans and plan to spend some time to be able to watch the yard operations.

Fascinating vantage over the world's largest rail classification yard. I grew up hearing of the massive yard in North Platte, but hadn't visited it--despite driving past the town several times--until recently. The visitors' center is nice, and has rooms with artifacts and a video, as well as a gift shop area. The restrooms were nice and clean.
Up in the tower, you may choose the outdoor observation platform or the indoor viewing area. A volunteer docent (a former UP employee who worked in the yard for many years) offered commentary as to what we were seeing in the yard, and adeptly answered visitors' questions. The indoor observation level has signs and displays on aspects of the yard, as well as the UP's history.
Anyone interested in railroads should stop here; the sheer scale of the yard (over eight miles long) is literally too much to see, even from an eight-story tower, but the elevated perspective gives you a much better idea of the yard's scale, as well as the many things taking place there.

After driving hours on open highway across the plains of Nebraska, this is a great and fun stop! The Golden Spike Tower has an awesome viewpoint over one of the largest rail yards in the world! It’s not too expensive to enter, and you have plenty of placards and articles to read up on the history of this place. Pretty neat artifacts as well, including the real “Golden Spike”!
Even if you’re not interested in trains, railroads, or anything of the sort, I do think it’s worth visiting. After all, where else are you going to find an overlook of the surrounding terrain in this part of the country? Nebraska is very flat out here and it’s nice to get an aerial view every once in a while!
However, on a clear day, you can see the Sand Hills in the distance! They’re evidence that Nebraska does indeed have hills - contrary to what the internet might claim! All in all, I think the Golden Spike Tower is a great attraction. You learn a lot, you get a great view, and you have knowledgeable staff. That’s all you can ask for!

Compact cabin & former station used by Pony Express mail carriers with a gift shop, open seasonally.
Love the history and display of genuine artifacts inside the Pony Express building.
Interesting info; inside is a desk or counter where you can buy things. But take a look at the counter top. I now wish I would have taken a picture, but under the glass top are almost 4,000 pennies, all the Lincoln heads are up and facing the same direction. The use of shiny and tarnished heads are placed so perfectly to spell out a phrase...
It's worth the trip to see this history and while doing it, see what all the pennies spell out.

An interesting living history. The ambitious business of Pony Express to provide a coast to coast mail service was short-lived after telegraph lines were laid. With the astronomical cost of $5 (remember it was in 1860), the postal service was exclusively catered to government business through which the Union and Confederacy competed to obtain the support of California. The cabin that houses the museum is a reconstructed Pony Express station, one of the many where mail riders were supplied with fresh horses, each being roughly 10 miles apart.

We had visited the museum in St. Joseph where the Pony Express began, and this was one of the stops on the long path westward. We stopped for a short time to take in the sights and look the place over. The local volunteers were informative and nice. The place was clean and well kept. Not much for small children probably but for a couple of adults looking for an excuse to get out of the car it was fine.

What a nice little stop just off I-80! This is a beautiful example of a typical pony express depot, moved here from another location a few miles west. It was closed when we stopped by, but you can still see it from the outside no problem, since it's a town park. Great place to stretch your legs and get into the western feel, especially if you're driving west.

Jeeps, helicopters, tanks & other restored military vehicles on display alongside uniforms & more.
Lemme start by saying it's free, go in any time of their open hours and look around, they're very kind and respectful, and have a lot of cool things to look at, everything from models, to RC tanks to rifles, uniforms, full size vehicles and more, even a full size Bradley APC you can get in I posted 50 attached photos and still isn't all I took or even everything there, will be going back as soon as I can find the time, it's truck driver friendly with they said a semi truck can fit there as well as a short walk from the Walmart up the street which has truck parking spaces available
Please come visit and give your respect to the kind people operating this for free, if you can donate to keep it going for everyone then please do so

This museum would probably appeal to anyone (including children), not just those interested in vehicles. There are many armored and unarmored vehicles on display, but inside are many other military items and posters on display.
The Great Platte River Road Archway Monument is a unique and notable architectural landmark situated over the I-80 highway near Kearney. The museum inside provides an intriguing portrayal of the Western migration during the 19th century through innovative multimedia exhibits. Visitors can learn about the diverse array of people who traveled this route, including wagon train riders and modern-day drivers. The exhibits are expertly crafted with attention to detail, featuring hand-painted figures and murals on the walls.

Neat experience! I had driven under the monument countless times and never stopped but it was worth it. However, I think the audio tour is something you do once and don't necessarily have to do again. The outdoor area is well taken care of and I appreciate the use of native plants and flowers. Would be a nice area to hold an outdoor event.

I have lived in Nebraska my entire 43 years and never visited this place and now I’m kicking myself for it. I had no idea what I was getting into. Normal museum this is not. A story telling audio guided tour through Americas history is what you can expect. Incredibly detailed displays and murals make you feel as though you are a part of these eras. 10/10 for sure!
If you have kids they may peter out 3/4 through the exhibits but all and all its interactive enough for most that I think they’d be ok. There is a fossil and gemstone panning display at the end that my son loved. You buy a sack of mining sand at the gift shop. Splurge on this for cool stuff!

OMGosh, where to begin. Number one, YES, take the time, make the stop, go through the museum, hike the trails. The museum is brilliant, built over the highway, it was built in the air, taking up no precious space on the ground.
The story of the westward expansion that passed through and around the area was vast and sweeping.
The murals are some of the most exquisitely painted murals I’ve ever seen. The artists that painted the murals are of the highest caliber. Jaw dropping.

We had stopped completely by chance while passing through and ended up taking time to go through the whole museum and walk the paths outside! It's a truly impressive place and hits on so many educational topics in a really fun and interactive way! The amount of work and attention to detail is really astounding and the people were all so friendly! If you're ever passing by with a little extra time it's really worth a visit, it won't take you off your driving route and will definitely add some excitement to your day!!

This is a really cool museum and covers so much history that took place within the area. This is a must when passing through! The whole arch is a two story museum and you use this handheld speaker that you point at signs to listen to stories and information about the exhibits, super cool concept.

What a great experience to walk through and listen to Nebraska history from the Indians and Pioneers to the building and expansion of the railroad to the highway system all based around the lives of people. Worth the price of admission. Definitely will be a great memory.

Wow! Was this a surprise. I had passed this place several times in my life. I decided to visit while in the area to see the bird migration. I was sooo impressed with the detail of the displays. This really is worth a stop. Love the history of our country. This museum highlights the Lincoln highway history and the pioneers who forged through field and stream to build the west. Very worth the visit. Great gift store.
Lots of fantastic paths outside. Great place to walk and stretch your legs. Pets are allowed on the trails.

We didn't have a lot of time, so we just took some pictures, made a purchase in the gift shop, and left. We plan on stopping here again and spending a lot of time. It is amazing and we can't wait to visit and see everything. This is a great place to stop in your travels, and kids will love it. Bathrooms are very clean. There is an area where you can go eat some lunch under a gazebo or you can sit on the edge by the river. There are little ponds/lakes you can walk to, as well.

Ken welcomed us in with a cheery mood and very helpful. He got us started on our self guided tour and we were also able to use a wheelchair for my mom for free so she was able to go through the tour and enjoy it. It's a must have to stop and do with the kids or your family such a great place. They also have a giftshop with really cute items to purchase.

How cool !!! So glad we stopped in. Took about an hour and a half for us since we listened to every single recording and took it all in. We thought this was a very well done museum! Friendly and helpful people work there. It has so much interesting information and is clean and a comfortable temperature inside. It's got amazing historically accurate displays. I loved the dramatic thunderstorm and the other effects. If you love history you'll appreciate this one!!! If you don't love history you should still go to see the way it was done and look out the window to see the traffic below. That is so awesome! I encourage everyone, especially those interested in the past and those with school age kids, to stop by.

We had a great time, super educational! Makes me want to learn more.
Beautiful outside!
Took about 90 min to go through the museum. 50 different major points to hear.

There is a pretty hike, some historical items to check out, and a gift shop to visit for free. The gift shop has lots of Nebraska souvenirs, locally made items, and snacks. There is an admission fee to go upstairs to see the museum and admire the view over the interstate. However, it is a reasonably fun thing to do on a family road trip. There is also an area that can be used as an events center.
**we were disappointed to find the maze is gone.

There was a lot more to see here than anticipated. Leave yourself plenty of time to explore the exhibits. There's more than an hour of audio clips you can listen to as you move through and lots to look at.

What a neat place!!! You will tour the museum with a handheld radio and listen to a story being told. I preferred to read about everything vs listening. I was truly amazed: this place exceeded my expectations.
We will follow the trail of the settlers coming west up into the 1960’s. The characters are truly human like!!! The displays are amazing and well done. We really enjoyed spending the morning here.

Really interesting roadside museum appropriately straddling the old Great Platte River Road. The attractions inside effectively blend technology--self-guided audio tour, cool light effects, historical information, and nostalgic Americana to give great perspective and appreciation of the pioneers and their successors, right up to modern times, that have traveled across the Great Plains amid hardships while chasing their dreams.

We highly recommend visiting. Very educational regarding the history of this region.

A wonderful experience to learn the history of the Oregon trail. When buying a ticket, they give you a handheld device that you carry and hold up to your ear. It gives you a running commentary of each exhibit, told in first person voices. From the early wagon trains to the railroad, to modern times, it is like living the adventure. Great lifelike exhibits!

We had a wonderful time looking through history of cars. How they looked from the Model A all the way to today. We were on our Honeymoon in Kearney, NE and where we're from, we have a Classic Car museum in Fulton, MO. Thanks for letting us look around at the wonderful cars

An amazing collection of automobiles and automobile memorabilia. The people who are staff are very friendly and I am recommending anyone who has any interest in automobiles that this is a must see place.

Plan on spending at least 2 hours here. I don't know anything about cars, but I still wish I would have gotten here sooner to have enough time to analyze each car more. There are so many makes and models, and so crazy that most of the cars came from the same person's collection. My favorite displays were the before and after restorative car exhibits.

This is a World Class showcase of vintage automobiles. They are displayed very compactly, are polished and clean,, and the entire facility is spotless. The gentleman who welcomed us was friendly, polite, knowledgeable, and dedicated to making sure our experience was a positive one -- which it most certainly was! From cars that I drove as a young man to cars I had never heard of -- every one displayed beautifully with very detailed information cards. If you don't like cars, just walk around and listen to the GREAT music that is playing! If you are visiting Kearney, take time to enjoy this collection - you won't be disappointed.

Wonderful stop off I-80! The collection is over 200 cars (some rotating through). Spend over an hour just walking through.
My wife and I stopped here since we were driving by on I-80, would recommend.

Awesome!
Went in expecting nothing more than muscle car show autos. Was I wrong! I was blown away at the collection of "off brand" autos that went away in the early 1900's. And every one restored to perfection. With perfect paint jobs and no oil leaks on the floor, each auto displays a small history of its origin, original cost new, and maker. Well displayed with nostalgic a service station and a drive in theater.
My only regret was waiting 10 years to experience it. I will come back with friends and family.

Josh did a great job Sharing his knowledge of what's in the museum. They also do a great job displaying All the cars that's in the collection. It's also pretty neat that they will be changing the collection periodically to keep it fresh. The level of care and detail that they go to display and share the knowledge of these vehicles Is very impressive. Kind of makes you feel good to know that the history. That is being displayed here. Will live on for a long time. Definitely a Hidden Gem in Kearney, Nebraska I will definitely be back

I am the mother of five adult sons and that's the age group that honestly works best with this location. We took a day off to visit the museum, and I think it was well worth it. So many interesting things to look at. To be honest It's really a bit dated and needs to have some work done but the collection is not done by professionals like most museums. It's the private collection of Harold Warp, and he did a fantastic job of collecting and displaying so much interesting stuff! They were working on the roof of one of the buildings and I hope they are able to keep working on updating. It was a great way to spend the day with my family.

This is a great place to see all of the antiques on display. To see the progression this country has made in living, households, agriculture and modes of transportation. I was here 35 years ago and really enjoyed it. I just went back a couple days ago. The items on display are really showing their age. However, it was nice to go back again. It's a good place for all age groups.

This place is an absolute pleasure to visit. I am blown away by the sheer volume of things to see. Huge facilities complete with everything from old cars, over 300, and historical tools for the home and farm. I loved this museum and can't wait to go back when we have more time. We walked the grounds quickly and still spent 2.5 hours on site. I would recommend a four hour minimum so you can stop and read some of the historical information that is on all of the displays.
I personally loved the agricultural implements. Old sod cutters, tractors, harvesting alongside some very rare corn harvesting devices. There are tons of cool things to learn about our agricultural heritage.
I also loved the buildings on display. Very cool sod home. The buildings are Aldo historical. Cool church and an old diner that they were updating to offer actual food in 2024.
There is an entire area devoted to showing how American homes changed over the years. These are full-sized vignettes of American homes with everything related to the decade they are showing. There are kitchens and bedrooms with period items used. Very cool!
I highly recommend this location for all ages. It is a collection of Americana that should not be missed.

Holy cow did this place exceed our expectations. We pulled in and based on what the outside looked like we almost didn’t go in, that would have been a huge mistake. The sheer volume of antique cars alone would have been enough to make the $15 entrance fee worth it but then add in everything else (and there is A LOT of everything else) you definitely get your moneys worth. The original buildings they moved to this site were really cool and everyone was so nice. Don’t be fooled by the outside, i highly recommend spending a few hours.

What an incredible place! So much effort has gone into preserving all this history. The displays were absolutely mind blowing and it really felt like you were stepping through time. The houses, church and shop buildings were definitely my favorite part. We were in awe at every turn. We spent just over an hour here but i would say to give yourself at least 3 hours to really take it all in. This place is MASSIVE.

I have been there many times since I was a child and enjoyed taking my children there over the years.
100% the best display of Americana and love the fact you can climb aboard many of the exhibits, push buttons to see how things worked and enjoy beautiful grounds. Affordable and a must see.
This attraction used to be advertised in magazines nationwide and even National Geographic. That brought in a lot of tourists. I wish they could do that again. Some exhibits and signage need updating so spread the word that more people go so upgrades can be made.
A treasure and hope they are open for my grandchildren to enjoy.

I have never seen such an extensive collection of vehicles, agricultural equipment, or historic artifacts in one place. We must have walked 4 miles just looking at everything. I should not have worn my flip flops for this tour. Very cool and well thought out from the beginning in 1953.

The family loved it. They ran all over the place and had such a good time. Not sure if they learned anything but the adults enjoyed walking through and seeing all the organized and great collections. It was quite an amazing place to learn and look at where we were and where we are now. We will be back again. There is something for everyone there.

This place is AMAZING. First and most important thing to know: Disregard how the outside of the museum looks - the inside (26 buildings) will exceed all expectations. The outside looks like an old and run-down donation center in a strip mall that has seen better days.
The museum has lots of historical artifacts from the prairie days in the 1800's - original Conestoga Wagons, stagecoaches, a sod house, an Indian stockade, a one room schoolhouse, a gypsy wagon and many other artifacts. In addition, there are several warehouses filled with items showing how technology has changed in the last 250 years in America - cars, bikes, airplanes, radios, telephones, farming equipment, home appliances, etc.
You can see that the museum, motel and campground have gone through hard times. The community is working hard to maintain and restore the property. I certainly hope they are able to do this, because this museum is a GEM! It took us 5 hours to go through the whole museum. Tickets are $15, a very reasonable price.
Definitely worth the trip. Loved it!

Went here for a few hours and had an awesome time. There is so much to see that you need at least one entire day. I will return to visit and see whatever else I can. We spent over 3 hours just perusing the cars and motorcycles. Kudos to Harold for collecting and assembling this awesome museum. I don't believe there is anywhere else like this in the United States, and there are many things here that you will only see at Pioneer Village.

Great place to visit. Give yourself 3-5 hours to go through this place. It's heard to believe how much history is displayed here. They are upgrading buildings and by next year will have the carousel running and the diner will be functional again. We will definitely be back. We were limited in time and made it through in 2 hours, so we were limited in being able to look at everything in detail. I was impressed with the car and truck collection. Also, the airplanes were interesting. Being a retired agriculture teacher, the farming equipment was fun to look at. They also had the first motor home someone made 10 years before any were being manufactured. They stamp your arm, so you can leave for lunch and come back to finish. Great for kids and adults. Adult admission is $15. Well worth the money. Highly recommend.

Very impressive collection of so many old items dating from the 1800s - 1980s! During your visit, I encourage learning about the neat and interesting story about who curated these items. I appreciate the little signs throughout the displays, giving extra details about this item and that. Arrows on the walkways help visitors navigate displays in an orderly fashion to make sure nothing is accidently skipped over! In the restroom is a functioning ladies' urinal (pictured).

I visited Pioneer Village with a group of friends, one of whom is a Minden native. It was nice to have a guide to tell us fun facts about all of the exhibits. The first section seems like a lot, but it is only just the beginning! There are many interactive exhibits that ensure fun for the whole family! Be sure to leave yourself plenty of time to see all of the buildings. We could have spent days here! Some of our favorite spots included the historical buildings, such as the sod house and the one-room schoolhouse. Be sure to look out for the portrait of my favorite president Teddy Roosevelt in the schoolhouse! The train car, boat, and trollies were fun to climb in and explore. It's like stepping into the past! There was also live music that really set the atmosphere. I could go on and on about this magical escape into history. The Rooms Through the Decades was really interesting. We also enjoyed walking past Harold Warp's office. Rumor has it that it is haunted! Our group had lots of fun stopping to take selfies, especially with the taxidermied animals. DO NOT forget to stop in to the gift store to get yourself some merch. One of my friends LOVED the Pioneer Village salt and pepper shakers. When we went, they were even selling some historical items from the museum. The ball-point pen collection was astronomical! There is so much history to explore, but the real treasure was the memories we made along the way! I loved meeting the sweaty real-life blacksmith. He gave us a fun puzzle to solve.

Wow, so many things to see here - it really could be done over multiple days to see everything. Loved how they have similar items grouped together, chronologically.
It was over 100 the day we were there, however, due to all of the shade trees it was very doable. The place is well cared for and very clean; it was amazing to me how everything was so clean for all they have.
There must be over 500 antique cars here, most were in original condition and in good shape. This is a must see place for sure; we found it driving back from Ft. Kearney and decided to pull in; it didn’t disappoint!!!
I can’t think of anything from the past they did not have, so many times we said “I’ve never seen that before.”
Located upstream of Grand Island, the Crane Trust Nature & Visitor Center is a prime spot for witnessing the awe-inspiring spring migration of sandhill cranes and millions of waterfowl. The center offers seasonal Sandhill Crane Migration Tours led by expert guides, providing an opportunity to observe these magnificent birds from prime viewing blinds along the river. Visitors can also enjoy year-round hikes and take part in craft activities for children while admiring beautiful artwork at the center.
Fantastic place to see the Crane Migration!

Great place to visit. Very friendly and informative personal. Craft activities for children and beautiful artwork. Bison roaming in the distance. Walking trails but it was raining lightly while we were there so did not get a chance to injoy that aspect. Very enjoyable experience.

An unplanned but serendipitous stop along Interstate 80. We loved the art gallery, interpretive video and trails and footbridges on the Platte River. The Trust even maintains a small bison herd and monarch butterfly sanctuary. Before arriving we saw tens of thousands of sandhill cranes feeding in the cornfields along I-80 (late March), so when we saw the sign to the Crane Trust, we had to stop to check it out. We were warmly welcomed at the door, given a brief but thorough orientation to the setup of the building and then set free to roam the place. We ended up purchasing a large, framed photo for our living room to benefit the Trust before leaving. Wonderful place doing wonderful work!

What an excellent VIP tour and experience. The volunteers are so knowledgeable. The time in the blind at sunset and sunrise allows you to see the cranes flying to settle for the night and you watch them wake up and get moving.

I have often driven past, this was my first time stopping as I made the drive down 80 to points East. I have 3 homeschooled children and would highly recommend this stop as fun and educational for families homeschooled or not! We refilled water, had a nice clean bathroom stop, made origami cranes, saw an educational film- that makes me likely to add this to Our Epic Road Trip as a Mar/Apr stop to see the migration full swing! We.found treasures in the gift shop and had some lovely conversation with the volunteers/staff. Picked up some coloring sheets and activities for 3 girls to do in the backseat when Nebraska seemed to get to be too "long" for them 😉! And the art, photos, taxidermy... just beautiful! Definitely recommend- do plan for a bit of time, they have hiking trails to stretch your legs!

Went for crane viewing. Was great experience, people (staff) were great but windows in blinds were in either too high or too low places for taking photographs sadly. Angles and small openings made it tough for lots of people to take photos with out bending or stretching on tip toes. I'm 5'8" so I'm not short or tall.

Wonderful experience (we took the overnight VIP tour). Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Presentations were highly informative and professional. The event was organized extremely well, with no glitches. Of course, the highlight was actually watching the cranes, which was amazing and worth the long drive and the expense. Overall, the organization is doing very important and good work. Highly recommended.

Visiting here is highly recommended. Every volunteer and member of staff I encountered was so passionate about the work they do I couldn't help but be excited at every turn. The migration of the cranes is an awe inspiring event that everyone should see in person. The VIP experience is a must do! The cabins have everything you could need, the meals were delicious, and the HEATED blinds made the whole event more enjoyable.

This is a wonderful place to get out and stretch your legs. There are buffalo in a pasture. About a quarter mile walking trail. I didn't see any cranes, but I think it was the wrong time of day.
Clean bathrooms. There are no paper towels in the restrooms. Just the air dryers. Refillable water station. Not much for food. The snack bar was not open. Snacks are available in the gift shop, but they looked pretty puny. Gravel parking lot.

Really cool place with a really nice walking place near the river. Lots of things to see and buffalo were nearby. Volunteers were very nice. Except an employee kicked me out of the gift shop cuz they were closing in 10 mins instead of just giving me a heads up, which was upsetting. I was just going to buy a pop and an ornament of my favorite bird and couldn’t. Otherwise this is a really nice place to visit and I hope to come again!

I did the VIP one night and it exceeded my expectations. The staff were so welcoming never minding the endless questions. The accommodations were super comfy, and the food was delicious, perfectly cooked and a broad selection for everyone's tastes. And then the cranes ... There are no words to describe it. No camera that can capture it. Just go.. sit in the blind next to this amazing show produced annually by nature. Watch these birds, wonder at their intelligence, their ability to adapt, and their beauty. A symphony of sorts, natures poetry, all live. A treat, right here in the US everyone that loves the outdoors must see. Just go!

When I was a kid in the late 60's or early 70's my dad took the family to this museum on the way to Colorado from Illinois. I vividly remember one of the displays was a native American found mummified in a cave somewhere. He was in a reclined position and wearing a soldiers cavalry jacket.

Decently priced for a great museum. There's 3 levels of displays, a small children's area, IMAX, planetarium, and gift shop. My Girl Scouts thought the Kool-Ade part of the museum was amazing and spent quite a while there. We also watched a planetarium movie...just make sure you sit in the back and not on the sides.

The Hastings Museum was bigger than expected (3 floors)!! It was well worth the drive from Lincoln. The planetarium show was very interesting. The shows also have listening and captioning devices available for those who request them. Also a great place to go for Nebraska history, as they have displays of native species from thousands of years ago and fossils/bones of mammoths found in Nebraska. They also have replicas of local shops and newspapers from Hastings in the 1900s. They have so many things to see. In many of the exhibits there are draws below the top viewing area with just hundreds more things to see. Definitely a great place for families with kids, especially young ones. However it was still very fun as two adults going without children. Would highly recommend!!

My goal was to actually see the Kool-Aid exhibit at this museum. But I was very impressed and surprised at the rest of the facility. There is a planetarium with regular shows. There are a bunch of antique vehicles in the basement area. Their dioramas with various animals on the main floor. It is quite a collection and well worth the admission price. There is an elevator for those who need that accessibility. It was interesting seeing the history of Kool-Aid. Museum included everything from a replica of a store to costumes of the pitcher. There are lots of photos and displays of advertising and products from that time. Including variations on kool-aid. Museum is easy to get to. It's adjacent to an arboretum which is another pleasant excursion. There was a nice museum gift shop. It's very well done.

Kool, Man. Inventor of Kool-Aid left the museum as a legacy. A very nice museum with lots of exhibits, most NOT about Kool-Aid, for a small town (or even a big city). Exhibits will appeal to both young and old. A history of Kool-Aid and how it came to be is on a separate floor from the natural history exhibits.

All kinds of things to see and learn about here! From prairie settlers, to a planetarium, kool aid exhibit and lots of animals... we had lots of fun! An awesome employee offered us a tour and info about how things were acquired/ some of the changes that they hoped to make or add. This is a great inexpensive place to visit!

I found it amazing that they had that much stuff inside the confines of the museum walls without being crowded. We gave it 3 hours on a Sunday and didn't see even half of the exhibits. Our next stop was Kearney, and on a day where one of our attractions fell through, we drove back to Hastings and spent another 4 hours going through the rest of the museum. I'm from Omaha, and our museums aren't half that well stocked. Hats off to Hastings for preserving the past! This was money well spent!
The Stuhr Museum-Prairie Pioneer features exhibits of daily life in Nebraska for both settlers and American Indians dating back to the early 1800s. It's a unique museum that combines indoor exhibits with a vast outdoor living museum, showcasing how living conditions improved dramatically from 1860 to 1890 thanks to the railroad. The architecture and historical artifacts are beautiful, and there are plenty of friendly employees, volunteers, and educational tours available.
If you are in Grand Island, I strongly recommend this place to visit. It has some collections you will not see probably many places. There are good collections of electronics and agricultural equipments from nineteenth century to early twentieth centuries. My favorite is the switching machine.
There were two buildings open when visited on Dec 26. 2021: the main building that houses the visitor center, the second building just opposite to main building - it has opera house.
Please also don't forget to see the railroad village inside the stuhr museum. The place is currently going through renovation, but it is must see for those who has interest in railroad history.

This was an awesome surprise in Grand Junction. Away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this place is a quiet and awesome collection of the history of this area. It would be easy to spend the entire day here. Very nice to see the many items preserved for current and future generations to see. Many items have stories and I’m sure many untold stories that go along with them. I’d love to go through this place with someone older, who may have had experience with some of the equipment and artifacts on display. Staff was so helpful in guiding us through an overview of the sprawling complex.

The Stuhr Museum was great! I did not expect so much to see and do, but the museum delivered. There was plenty to see and explore inside, but the real treasure was the outdoor experiences. My kids loved the old church and school the best. Would definitely go again; we spent the morning there and didn’t see everything.

The railroad town is a great place for kiddos. It is a living history area, so there are people to stop and talk to allowing for a different kind of learning experience.
I missed the Prarie restoration area and the Pawnee home. Those are one my list for the next visit.
The road inside the museum complex is one way. There is a way to get back to the beginning if you miss a turn off. There are several parking areas around the facility so one can choose to park and walk the grounds, or use a vehicle to get closer to areas of interest.

Was super lucky this was 2 miles up the road from my trailer drop. They even let me drive around the grounds in my semi truck tractor. This place was really awesome. Reminded me of a similar place in Germany with old medieval buildings that I got to see as a teen. Would definitely recommend. Takes a good 2 hrs to see it all.

I was there a couple weeks ago for a birthday party at the ice skating rink and the most sweetest gentleman named Wayne was working that day. The connection he makes with every person that walked in that door was very heart warming. He was speaking Spanish with us and made us feel very welcome. He had an amazing attitude and great sense of humor. He made our day. Thank you Wayne the world needs more people like you!

Awesome experience! The different buildings were so interesting and the period-dressed staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. It was neat seeing them working in the various shops as they would have 200 years ago. I wish I'd taken more pictures, but we'll DEFINITELY be back!
Heritage center focusing on the Homestead Act of 1862, plus a 100-acre park of tallgrass prairie.
The museum was wonderful, full of history and information. You can also check on several computers to see if your family was one of the first home stutters in America. The hikes were wonderful full of wildlife. I spotted seven species of birds during our walk trails were easy to follow and well-maintained. Will visit again.

Quite interesting history of homesteading. FREE too, as it is a National Park! Older folks will really love this place, as in older than 70. Lots to look at & listen too. There is an elevator & restrooms 🚻 as well. Gift shop has great items & books. Art work is very fitting & quite well done. Handicap parking & entrance on South side. Worth the trip!
Anne Kingsley — Google review
This nicely NPS-managed historical facility has far exceeded our expectations. The museum educates visitors the history of homesteading from multiple perspectives, including the stories of the successful and less fortunate and how the combination of delusional ideology and misleading advertising of railway companies promising rich soil and ideal climate affect the native people. There is also quite a collection of photos depicting life during the 'homesteading fever'. Don't miss the Freeman schoolhouse that was operational until the 1960s, as well as learning about farming equipment in the education centre down the road. Exiting the museum through a side door leads you to a reconstructed cabin with an amazing view of the prairie.

Wonderful historical park. The computer stations set up for you to research ancestors that may have used the the Homestead Act was fascinating! The visitor center shape is one of the more uniquely modern designs I have seen in the national park system.

This is one of those parks that is the middle of no where and you have too go a bit out of your way to get to. It is so worth it, its a fascinating stop that is so very well done and well worth a visit

Everything about this landmark is a tribute to our history as a nation. The design of the building to resemble an old fashioned horse drawn plow is very clever. A must see especially since it represents the horrible way our government treated the native American people. The ranger that was there was very informative and helpful.

This is a great example of how a museum should look. The exhibits centering around homesteading were amazing, and told the rich history of how our country came to be settled. I learned a lot and saw a lot, and was surprised at how difficult homesteading was for those folks. Do not miss!

An incredible experience - especially if you have homesteaders in your family tree! There are two main centers to visit: the heritage center and the education center. Both are worth your time. The rangers are always kind and helpful if you need assistance. The entire park is neat and very well-kept. Don't forget: Veterans get in for free

Spectacular experience! It was a chilly day but we hiked, did Jr. Ranger, not so Jr. Ranger, and spent over three hours here. If it had been warmer we would have stayed longer. So fun!

Great place to learn more about American history. Good and bad lessons. It was too windy and hailing to walk but they had a lot of walking trails. The museum was well done as you can see from the pictures. The Rangers were very knowledgeable. There were 30 states that participated in the land grants including Alaska. Texas was not.??? Do your own research before you go to get the full story of the Homestead Act. The town of Beatrice was interesting too.
The Memorial Stadium is the home field of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, accommodating over 85,000 football enthusiasts since its establishment in 1922. This amazing stadium is renowned for its boisterous and loyal Husker fans who make it an unparalleled experience on game day. The ambience inside the stadium is electrifying with vendors serving delectable food to satiate hunger pangs once inside. It is a bustling place where all kinds of fans are welcomed by high-fiving Husker supporters.
Incredible stadium- loud and proud Husker fans, no where else you want to be on game day. It was the most remarkable experience and we will definitely be going again this year.
We tailgate before and then enjoy the food from the vendors once we are inside and the game starts.

Huge football fan and this place was pretty cool to see. You have easy access to view the field/stadium from a small section via gate 23a. Sign in and you can see the national title trophies, heisman trophies, and other awards. I enjoyed my visit.

I am not a Huskers watcher, so when we visited the stadium for a school field trip, I didn't expect it to be too interesting for me. But this is more than a stadium. It's a beautiful building with a rich history and they do a wonderful job honoring it. I was impressed and enjoyed the tour far more than I anticipated! And the kids, including those who don't follow sports, loved it. So even if you don't watch college sports, but do enjoy history, it is worth the visit.

Everything about the stadium for Volleyball Day in Nebraska was great! My only (tiny) issue was the gates were not clearly marked when arriving from the north, nor was my gate # on my ticket. We came in near gate 14 and apparently needed to go to the east stadium. When I asked where to go, she consulted a map and said it was the completely other side (it wasn't). My friend's ticket said gate 20 though so we headed there (not too far away) and they let us in. I would chalk it up to there were most likely a lot of volunteers working as ushers. I would recommend knowing ahead of time which gate you will want to enter from. Other than that one tiny hiccup, it was a fabulous experience!

It was a fun place to see a game. We had accessible seating for wheelchairs, behind an end zone fence. As my friend said "These are the best terrible seats I've ever had!"
We were close enough to see a couple of touchdowns mere feet from us, and we could hear the sounds of the helmets clashing. However, being at field level, it was often difficult to tell exactly what was happening. I'm not complaining- we were there and it was very close to accessible bathrooms.

It's crowded, it's loud and it's the best place to be on game day!!! I've been to many game both spring and regular season games and have always had a great time. Fans of all teams are welcome and Husker fans are always there with the high five!

Seats are very small and tight, concourse areas are dumpy. Restrooms are not nice. It’s what you’d expect for an old stadium. Atmosphere, however, was not as amazing as expected, could be because of a Nebraska loss. Still fun to visit and get the win!

I was able to move around the stadium to visit friends. Even had a volunteer Boy Scout help me to know where to go. It's always a fun time in this stadium! They are very well organized, you can get tasty food, and the monitors can be seen from any seat. The only issue I had this time was there were several people vaping, which is super annoying, not to mention unhealthy.

One Memorial Stadium Drive, Lincoln, NE 68588, USA
The Nebraska State Capitol, constructed in 1932, boasts a limestone tower reaching 400-ft. The building's design has a castle-like atmosphere and is surrounded by courtyards. Visitors can view impressive artwork, including mosaics, murals, and tile work throughout the structure. The top floor provides an observation deck where one can take in the gorgeous panoramic views of the city and surrounding area.
We checked this place out on our road trip. The day before we’d stopped by the Iowa State Capital, our first time in one, and we were interested to see they differed. This building was interesting because it had a castle like feel to it, and we got to sit and watch a senate hearing as it was happening. Very cool

Szilard Kiss — Google review
They don't honor their posted hours. We got there admittedly right before 5:00, but when we walked in the doors at 4:54, I expected to at least have a quick look around the main floor. As soon as we got in the door, however, a security guard immediately came over, said the Capitol was closed and told us we had to leave. When I said I just wanted to take a quick look since it wasn't 5:00 yet, she held out her arms like she needed to block me from trying to get past and said "No, I'm going to have to ask you to leave now." At this point, she looked ready to remove me by force, so we left. I've never disobeyed posted signs in a Capitol, and I consider myself a strict rule follower, so being treated like a criminal for wanting to stay somewhere until the posted closing time seems a bit ridiculous.
On top of this bad experience, the grounds were basically nonexistent. It was just a big lawn area, no memorials or anything like that. I can't speak to the interior other than the hall we entered at, but it seemed very dungeon-like, with no artwork or historical items or anything like that. These could have been in a different area, though.
I would not recommend stopping here. I would recommend some customer service training for their staff.

Absolutely must see in Lincoln. The second and the fourteenth floors have a lot of art work in them.
Some of the art works have themes related to appreciation of workers. You’d see this kind of theme in communist and socialist artists works too, but here you get in it Nebraska State Capitol Building.
Yashar E. Azam — Google review
I would say this is one of the more unique state capitols we have visited. The view from the 14th floor was expansive. Since the capitol was built significantly later than many other midwest capitol buildings, you get a fascinating mix of art styles. The architecture and planning crew's background probably has to do with this as well (you will find out if you take the tour). It is many fewer stairs than other capitols as well, which can be a plus for some.

It was a random trip. We traveled to Lincoln to buy a car. Walked the streets that are lined in a perfect grid. While the tall building is a marvel, the treasure lies inside, dim light, spectacular tall beams, peerless marble work, wall murals, prefect chandeliers, the state house chambers, it has an imposing peaceful and quiet gravitas. The interplay of architecture, light and muted displays create a harmonious experience. The building is the museum. A must see.
The Sunken Gardens is a garden that was built in 1930 and features sculptures, lily ponds, and lawn space surrounded by lush landscaping. It is a beautiful place that never fails to impress visitors with the amount of work put into maintaining it year-round. Spring is the favored season as it showcases stunning flowers like crocus, daffodils, hyacinths, and tulips still in bloom. The garden is small yet picturesque and remains open for longer hours than other nearby attractions.
This place never disappoints! So much work goes in to making it a lovely place. Year around. Spring is my favorite season, but I live out of town and fortunately missed the crocus, daffodils, and hyacinths. I was lucky to have caught my favorite flowers, tulips, still in bloom. Stop by if you are ever in the area and need a little nature lift.

Wow. What an incredible museum. It's absolutely worth the money. I highly recommend. It is filled with massive planes in two separate hangars. Some you climb up to and a cockpit you can sit in. There is a small Cafe. The bathrooms are massive with tons of stalls, very cleaning, and also have a changing table. I also want to note that the toliets do not automatically flush (noise sensitive kid and public bathrooms can be a challenge) so it's always nice to know it won't be a stressful restroom break.
The kids areas are huge with educational aspects with tons of fun. You could spend hours here, an entire afternoon really. My kid didn't want to leave.
For the adults: tons of information to read and learn. I am very impressed with the information and quality of the items in the museum.

“Jaw Dropping” is the best way to describe this place. If you are into aviation or military history at all, you will LOVE this place. As we pulled in and saw the Titan Missile sitting out in front of the large domes roof, I knew I was going to be in for a good time. I was lucky enough to go to an event there for a convention I was in town for. And we got to have dinner surrounded by WW2 aviation history. Everywhere you turn is another wonder to look & interact. They have space capsules, helicopters, fighter, jets, bombers, simulators, a theater, games, and WAY more stuff. Just look at the photo journal I am about to post up.

The Aerospace Museum is such a great place to visit. Some of the displays have changed since I was last here a few years ago. There is so much history that goes along with these exhibits and displays, be sure to spend the time to read them. There are some interactive displays for kids, they are full of some fun and basic information in science and engineering. The staff was friendly and they do offer a guided tour that does cost a little extra. My thee boys enjoyed The SACM and want to go back. There is a nice tribute to the victims of 9/11 that you need to go see. As fun as it was, it may be a bit pricey. We still might come back in a few years.

Nice museum. Lots of children tho and pretty noisy. The planes are huge and it's great to be able to learn so much about them....the books said 3 hours but it was less then two. There was quite a wait to get in... because of all the schools that were there. They could have used an additional person at the front desk. Also the price is very expensive as far as museum's go. I thought it a bit overpriced to be honest considering what we were looking at and how small it really it.
The planetarium was closed because of the schools and that was disappointing and there is an additional price for the flight simulators which was an additional $11.00..... but it was nice to see one. I wouldn't return with additional company, you have to really like planes which a lot of people don't.

I decided to visit the SAC Museum since I hadn’t been there in many years. I certainly underestimated the size and variety of exhibits/areas that were available for viewing. There are two hangars containing an abundance of aircrafts, some of which can be viewed up close. In addition, there are areas dedicated to the Holocaust, space exploration, and an activity center for children. Overall, the SAC Museum is a large facility that contains a wealth of knowledge surrounding military aircrafts, while adding value in many other areas too.

We enjoy coming back to the Mahoney Park because there is a lot to do, from fishing
to ice skating and indoor/outdoor playgrounds. For the first time, we rented a tree top cabin for two nights, hoping to get a little spring break escape. Little did we know that there are train tracks running pretty much all night, plus you can hear the noise from the interstate as well:( We didn't expect luxury from these cabins, but basic things like coat hangers, hand soap and dish sponge would have been nice, given we have paid close to $200 per night. We did enjoy the real fireplace and seeing the deer from our kitchen window! Also important to know is that the bunk beds are very narrow (smaller than twin size) and difficult to climb on for younger children.

This is a great park. We love the horseback riding, the paddle boats, melodramas and of course, the wave pool. There are great cabins for families and groups of all sizes - fully furnished with actual kitchens and bathrooms, TV and AC. Mahoney is a family favorite that we return to year after year. Make sure you plan ahead!! They are usually booked up at least 6 to 8 months in advance!

What a fun place to visit. There is so much to do that I am sure to miss some of it. Highlights; Pool Aquatic Center, multiple playgrounds, horse back riding, Zip linking and Ropes Course, a look out tower near river and we found a couple trails to walk as well. The park cost to get in and most of the activities cost. But I felt that it was reasonable. The water park is by far a favorite for my family. We did not stay in the park but we did spend a full day at Mahoney State Park. Be sure to follow the directions and post your park vehicle permit where you are told to.

The park offers lots of activities for the whole family, from miniature golf to trail rides, swimming, a theater, an activity center with a rock wall, paddle boating, the list goes on. There is accommodations that range from primitive camping to modern hotel service in the lodge. When my children, ages 10 and 12 said "When we come back next year" I knew our vacation was successful, much of that success because of the variety of activities at the park and the proximity to both Lincoln and Omaha, which offers many other attractions.

We had a family camp out there, and we enjoyed it so much. The only problem we had was that. The fire rings for the campfires are on a slat near the campers. The bathrooms need repair and should be cleaned daily. It is very dog friendly and we of course brought along our two dogs. The roarsenment and good for walking dogs.

We went to Mahoney State Park on a recommendation from a woman we met from Nebraska. Huge state park and lots of open space. Would recommend but just know it’s about 37/night without hook ups. A bit pricey but really great state park.

Took our granddaughter and one of her friends to the water park last week.
We had an amazing afternoon playing in the splash pad, and riding the waves in the wave pool.
A place for the whole family.
Everything is fee based for attractions like horse back riding, swimming, activity center, and crafts.
Plenty of opportunity for free fun though.
No restaurant on premisis at this time, but close to great places to eat

This is one of the best state parks in Nebraska.

Park is fantastic. So many fun activities for the whole family! Even though this is a year round state park and Campground, some of the activities are halted after Labor Day. Lucky for us we didn't come for the kid's stuff, we came to unwind and enjoy the beautiful weather and outdoor activities. If you are wanting lots of activities for the family, I'd make sure to check out their online schedule of events.
Grounds are easily walkable, I'd say some of the areas have gotten overgrown with weeds and such, but that's probably because its the end of fall and they're waiting for the rest to go dormant, to come in and do a final landscaping for the season.
Beautiful trails and views. We're camping and absolutely appreciate the wide open spaces between campers/RVs where you can spread out and have some breathing room..
Bathrooms are for the most part clean. However the showers in the bathhouse at the Little Creek Campground needs some serious attention. That's the only disappointment thus far. We're planning to stay 14 days in total and we have moved campsites when we found another one that suited us better.
We would definitely stay longer if allowed.

As always it was fabulous. I worked at Mooney the first summer they were open and it been my go to place ever since. We stayed in a treetop cabin and it was awesome. The only thing that bothered me was we checked in around 8:00 pm and it was -20 outside-the outside lights of the cabin weren’t on, they had barely shoveled or salted so the pavement was slick and basically snow covered and it was 60 degrees inside the cabin. I had been told that the cabin would be warm, lights on, etc when we checked in. I give a big shout out to the park superintendent who personally helped us when our Jeep had a flat tire. He used his own personal air compressor and we were incredibly thankful. Mahoney will always be one of my favorite places, can’t recommend it enough!

The best place to go camping, hiking and spending time with family and friends. To get some fresh air amd there are lots of thins to do. We had limited time with our stay but planning on going back there next year. Just FYI, I heard you have to book ahead of time. The Boyscout of America Jubilee 2022 was a success and very fun event and they picked the right venue! Mahoney State Park. Had a great time here!
