Meru National Park
Park
Nature & Parks
Wildlife & savanna scenery are the main draws at this rustic park with camping & a rhino sanctuary.
One of the best places that lives up to its slogan,.... The complete wilderness.
This park is great if you want to have time in and with nature. Very few vehicles during your game drive.
It's also a Rhino Sanctuary.
Michael Muriithi — Google review
One of our favourites in Kenya!
Easy to get around, welcoming staff and of course also lots of animals. Unfortunaly we didn't know that you are just allowed to open the Gate to the rhino sanctuary in the Park, so we missed out in that one. At Times the grass is quite high, which makes it more difficult to spot some animals, but you'll manage. Also great Public Campsite!

If you real want to stay out of the crowd from tourists in Kenya, then Meru National Park is a right choice to visit.

Very wild , we saw a bunch of animals and very few people.

Wonderful visit my second in a year. Saw lions for the first time in Meru NP. Wonderful
Joel Kamau — Google review
Entered through Murera Gate. The park has plenty of wildlife including lions, buffaloes, gazelles, giraffes, elephants as well as plenty of birdlife. Really enjoyed my game drives here 10/10
Maxwell Karanja — Google review
Visited the park with my family over Christmas, and had a beautiful and relaxing experience. There’s something calming in that air 😁
Bummed that we didn’t get to see Elephants or Lions as we wished though.
The paths are well marked, so you can’t get lost and the guide gave us her number just in case. It should be noted that in some places around the park there is little to no network.
Make sure to carry snacks, a camera and go with a car that’s suitable for the terrain because they don’t offer transport.
There are many hotels surrounding and within the camp that can offer great all inclusive services.

This is one of the hidden gems of Kenyan fauna and flora. There are vast number of animals such as thousands of elephants, hundreds of herds of buffaloes, water bucks, giraffes, warthogs, antelopes, gazelles, and many more. If you are keen rise early you are likely to see lions, leopards, and other carnivores hunting! are myriads of birds like Somali ostriches, herons, crown birds, storks, sterling among others.
Meru national park is especially known for the rhinos. It has a large well-protected and preserved rhino sanctuary. It boasts of white rhino and has the second largest rhino population in Africa.
The are numerous hotels in this well-watered vast wild. I'd advise that you go there with a plan to spend the night and enjoy the full experience of the wild.
The only downside is the road to getting there. The road from Maua town is a bit too pot-holed and rough...but I suppose it is the Safari experience!😎
Murungi Igweta — Google review
My trip to the park was a self-drive. It was during the afternoon and we did not manage to see most of the big 5. We were lucky enough to see a lion that was feeding on a zebra but it ran and hid on seeing us. The trails in the park are well-labelled. We did not seek the services of a guide. Most of the areas in the park were dry during our visit, apart from the areas along the many rivers that we crossed.

If you are the kind of person who loves nature and camping this is a really good place. Definitely not for Bougie peeps. The scenery and wildlife was amaze balls! Watch for the insects & scorpions though
Warm quarters in a laid-back getaway offering 2 restaurants, a bar & a fire pit, plus a terrace.
Old world charm enhanced by a very attentive staff. Wood burning fireplace in the rooms, dining and lounge. The rooms can do with a refresh. Great place to transit through. I will definitely be back.
Leah Mwangi — Google review
Very friendly staff and the location is very close to the town and conveniently near a supermarket. Nyahururu gets pretty nippy at might so the fireplaces in the room and restaurant lounges were very handy. Rooms are old (seems like a colonial building with timber floors, non-functional bathtubs, standalone closets and wood shingles) but some people do find a charm in this. A couple half board room cost 9,500 (about 90$) and the chef was willing to accommodate our pretty early checkout and have a packed breakfast ready for it. Right across the fence from Thompson's Falls and the breakfast we had was really quite good. Would definitely stay over at a later date
Fadhili Ogova — Google review
The rooms are cozy but haven't been renovated for quite a while. The food was great and so was the service. In my personal opinion they should reduce the price of a room considering the competition. I'll still stay there anytime.

Can't speak to the rooms, but stopped for lunch, food not bad - service atrocious. Lady was rude and unhelpful.

Took family members to see the waterfalls.
I began visiting 40 years ago with our late parents. This time we visited in the day. However, their rooms are beautiful and warm with a fire place. This is what I remember since I was young.
The breakfast a delight.

Awesome geographical position, right within Thompson's Falls which is along River Ewaso Nyiro, with a really organised set up in a busy place, but still manage to achieve a maximum serenity.
Perfect services, with caring servicemen and women out to care and guide clients
Ample and secure parking space with best aminities
A lovely view of Thompson's Falls
The budget though, moderately high...but worth it
I recommend

You can order your food, then scale down the Thomson's waterfalls to get perfect photo sites as you wait for the food. To access the waterfalls, you pay 50 shillings at a toll booth manned by Nyahururu county council staff.
The food is excellent, the staff are awesome.
As per my standards ( quality Vs cost) the hotel is affordability expensive. In a group of 5, we spent 5k and couldn't even finish the food! (Beef, rice, chapati drinks among other desserts I don't remember)😋😅
kosgei hillary — Google review
The tea was good.
The place has beautiful gardens with a view of the waterfall.
Can get chilly in the evening, but they light a fire in the restaurant to keep warm.

Perfect destination for those who wish to experience the beauty of Thomson Falls...the County government has developed the area outside the Lodege to a Tourist attraction with lovely Kikuyu Culture dressing up for pictures, a lot of Mugithi music & children play ground activities, Horse 🐎 riding, Camel 🐫riding . Bouncing Castles. It's awesome. Different Curio Kiosks. Visiting Thomson Falls is definitely value for money💰 🤑 & a lot of fun.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a 283-hectare drive-through animal sanctuary with game drives that house various free-ranging animals, including rhinos and chimpanzees. The conservancy hosts the last three northern white rhinos, which were relocated from the Dvur Kralove Zoo and have yet to breed successfully. Additionally, there are endangered species like Grevy's zebra and Jackson's hartebeest within its enclosure.
Ol Pejeta is a piece of 🕊on 🌍. The serenity the place offers is beyond measure. The Flora and Fauna completes the hills and open Savannah fields. It's the best place to recharge and unwind 🌳
Eric Musyoka — Google review
Beautiful animal sightings, all the big five are easy to spot. We enjoyed our game drive so much. The Rhinos were the highlight of the trip. Awesome animals
Morris Kyalo — Google review
After flying into Nairobi this was the first park Mama Savana Safaris took us to for a game drive and we saw almost everything that first day/night!
You can also pay extra to see the last two remaining female northern white rhinos and learn about what the conservancy is doing to help protect the species! It’s incredible! They will basically soon be using embryos and inseminating southern white rhinos, using them as a surrogate to help carry the babies and hopefully save the specific rhino! 🦏
I highly suggest going even if it’s just to see those two rhinos!
The park has so much to offer and is so close to Nairobi!
Lindsey Henry — Google review
We got to see a lot of things but the price for non residents is absurd compared to residents. Makes it almost not worth going! One of the highlights was the restaurant inside. Really good!!
Ronaldo Menezes — Google review
A great park to see a lot of wildlife without having to drive for days and days. Easy to enter early in the morning and to drive around until closing time, and you can cover the entire park with its diverse terrain in 1 day. They have the chimp enclosure which is an interesting tour, Baraka the gentle blind rhino who you can feed, an enclosure with 3 rare white rhino you can see as you drive by. A great place to start your self drive safari experience in Kenya, there are self catering accommodation options just outside the park, and nanyuki town has shops and restaurants where you can stock up on supplies
Mathew Taylor — Google review
What an outstanding experience & opportunity to get to see the the last 2 northern white rhinos! Wish I had come earlier to meet Sudan. Biy I have not cried this much in a long time. But there ate 13 little angelsl of hope that will make his legacy last. IM REALLY DISAPPOINTED TO SEE ANYOME DRIVE FREELY WITH NO SUPERVISION & ALSO IN ANY COLOR CARS. ALL OF THESE CAN BE A RECIPE FOR DISASTER FOR THIS WONDERFUL CONSERVATION HEAVEN..PLEASE TIGHTEN UP THE RULES.

Always have a wonderful time visiting this conservancy ♥️♥️♥️♥️ my Jaan and I have a heavenly time every time. Great work by the whole team looking after the whole territory
The last trip was aaaaallll about the rhinos 🦏 !!!
Thank you 😊

Reception was helpful and shared a map to guide us as the place is massive. Got chance to feed and stroke Baraka the blind rhino, such a sweet boy. So much to see and learn about wildlife and nature in general.
Christine Gitari — Google review
Ol Pejeta Conservancy is located in Nanyuki and I had an amazing experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the roads were well maintained, making it easy to tour the entire place. The view of Mount Kenya was breathtaking and seeing Baraka, the blind rhino, was a unique and special experience. We also got to stand on the equator, which was thrilling. The conservancy is home to a variety of wildlife, and the game drive was one of the highlights of our trip. Ol Pejeta is a leading wildlife conservancy in Kenya, known for its efforts in protecting endangered species. It was great to learn about conservation efforts and contribute to the cause by visiting. Overall, I highly recommend Ol Pejeta Conservancy to anyone visiting Kenya or living in Kenya. It's a wonderful place to experience the beauty of Kenya's wildlife and landscape while also contributing to conservation efforts.
bettyann kiara — Google review
It's one conservancy where one is able to not only see but encounter all the big five within a short drive. Very good insight into conservation being on the IUCN greenlist. Their story inspiring. Make a date and visit

A wonderful place to spend time from the busy town
Relax and enjoy the view
We could see Many animals including Lion , elephant , rhino , hippo, deer , zebra , buffalo , chimbanze etc ..
Deepak C V Das Nair — Google review
Easy to access, 4wd vehicle not a necessity as the roads are smoother than most parks/conservancy in the country, in my experience not a lot of game but the ones they have are easy to see, as for the Chimps visit early before they wonder off! Otherwise a pleasant conservancy.
Loui K — Google review
Ol Pejeta is the most wonderful place on earth for African wildlife conservation. Everything you can imagine to see, you can at Ol Pejeta. The animals are living authentic wild lives. The experience is wild. Within minutes of arriving at Ol Pejeta, we had already seen a herd of elephants, crash of rhinos and pride of lions (post hunt, bellies full and sated). The dedication, knowledge and love the rangers and guides have for the animals is unquestionable. Our guide, Manu, went above and beyond to give us the best experience. Nothing was too much. And his knowledge and love for his Kenyan homeland and animals wonderful to see. Thank you Manu

Some cuties from a preserve where mainly black rhino s matter. Great place! Great project! Tons of big animals!

Perfect day to see almost all the big five. Many animals were out despite the dryness and dusty environment. We took a guide at the entrance. Patrick was just fantastic in his explanations. The kids loved to feed Baraka, the blind rhino.
Mount Kenya, the highest peak in Kenya, is renowned for its breathtaking views and verdant forests, offering various trails and campsites. Visitors can choose to add a trek to the summit of Mount Kenya or upgrade to a Masai Mara lodge to extend their itinerary. Although the weather may be cold, it is an unforgettable experience with a guide and porter who provide assistance on this historic mountain that was first hiked many years ago.
this the best to go when you want to get from it all.its the most relaxing place i have went .

Amazing national park with many opportunities to see wildlife along the routes.
We were going to point lenana, everything was so perfect. The camps are located perfectly with nice views. The local guides are super nice and doing everything for your convenience.
Gill Nitzan — Google review
Mount Kenya point Lenana peak 4,985 m the hike was both exhilarating and difficult.
4 days 3 nights hike we used the Old moses Camp route which was not hard
We had porters to help with our luggage bless them 🙏🏾🙏🏾 cause weeeeuh I won't have made it.
We reached Old Moses camp at around 2 P.M since we decided to hike in October rainy seasons it was so cold 🥶🥶 not sleeping in tents thank God for that
The views from there were beautiful 🤗🤗
Woke up the following day and started our hike to Shipton Camp. Those kilometres were not a joke 🤣🤣🤣 till you see the first sight of the white peaks I fell in love 😍😍😍
At Shipton we froze our behinds off getting there but guys the views there I could believe I was summiting that beautiful mountain 🏔️🏔️🏔️
Day 3 we summited Mt Kenya around 6 in the morning the snow fell hard we didn't stay long before we had to hike to lake Michaelson to Lake Ellis and headed home the following day
This was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever experienced 😊😊 and I will definitely do it again this year just not in October 🤣🤣

What a great mountain. I loved my experience. I found the landscape astonishing. I am glad I was with a guide and a porter. It helped me having a wonderful time out there. I also learned a lot about the history of the place and its first hikers. Behaware though, the weather is cold. Be prepared in consequence.

Best Hike Ever in Kenya 🇰🇪
Boaz Mayaka — Google review
The great scenarios within Mt. Kenya National park such as tarns, lakes, the huge heaps of stones (peaks), amazing guards and teammates made this hike the best among the few I have had.
The rough terrain which tested on the eagerness to climb up the peak was something else, ooh, don't forget the chilling cold late in the evening and early in the morning and receiving blessings in terms of rain as we trekked the tracks.
I am grateful to have experienced a sunrise while at the top of the third highest peak on Mt. Kenya with an attitude of 4985m ASL. I would encourage you to pay a visit and experience it yourself once you're well prepared physically, mentally and even emotionally.

We went for a day trip through the Sirimon Gate. The road to the gate is rough, after the gate tarmac but very steep. We were only allowed to get in after we had arranged a guide. We walked up from "Old Moses" for about three hours and then went down the same way. The views are special but do not change during the hike. The entrance fee is too high for just a few hours of walking.

A lifetime excellent adventure! The best challenge I ever had was conquering Mt Kenya. Alongside endurance was great sceneries.

Tho the Weather is a lil complicated ( thats how it should be😆) one minute you see the sun, a single blink😉 it's totally clouds everywhere 😍.
Am glad i reached to @LenanaPeak and Had a good closer look at @Nelson and @Batian peaks.
M.t kenya is the best mountain you should hike in 2024 if you haven't this year.

Mount Kenya is the second-highest mountain in Africa and a popular hiking destination for adventure lovers. Located near the equator, it boasts a remarkable scenery, diverse wildlife, and challenging terrain. The mountain provides a wide range of trekking and climbing options, and it's can be tackled by mountain enthusiasts with varying levels of experience.
Hiking Mount Kenya is an unforgettable experience with breathtaking views from every angle. The mountain has three main peaks: Batian, Nelion, and Lenana. Although Batian is the highest peak, reaching Lenana at 4,985 meters is an achievable goal for most hikers. The trek to Lenana Peak is ideal for beginners and takes around three to four days to complete.
The mountain also offers trekkers an opportunity to explore unique ecological zones. The lower slopes are covered in dense forest, which gradually gives way to bamboo and highland heath. Further up, you'll experience alpine and lunar landscapes as you approach the summit.
Overall, Mount Kenya is a must-visit destination for anyone who loves the outdoors. It's a challenging yet rewarding trek that immerses trekkers in a blend of wilderness, culture and adventure. With proper gear, professional guides, and a good level of fitness, hikers can make unforgettable memories summiting the peaks and admiring the stunning views.
Lake Nakuru, a soda lake located in Rift Valley and surrounded by fenced areas, is a must-visit destination for wildlife enthusiasts. The park offers an excellent opportunity to spot rhinoceroses, making it one of the best places in Africa for such sightings. In addition to rhinos, the lake boasts numerous flamingos and other animals that can be observed during safaris. The park's entrance fee is 880 and it features stunning natural beauty that makes it well worth the visit.
Wonderful trip. Everyone asked if it was worth going there and the simple answer is yes. I really enjoyed one long day there. Great climate and we didn't see any mosquitos.

The entrance to the park is impossible the two girls in the gate are not cooperative the registration is hell, if they start to send you to the bank and Cyber Cafe, give up and go somewhere else, it took us 3 hours toget in and couldn'tdoitwithoutthehelp of the Hotel. But! if you manage to get in take a ranger to escort you. A ranger named Vivian was great and helpful.

We traveled all over Kenya and Tanzania with Mama Savana Safaris and Lake Nakuru was probably my top favorite places to visit. It’s just absolutely breathtaking.
Here we saw hippos, warthogs, zebras, monkeys, lots of birds, rhino, elephants, Rothschild giraffe, lions… I mean the list goes on and on. Plus it’s not too far from Nairobi!
One of the MOST MAGICAL DAYS OF MY LIFE happened here and I truly mean that. Towards the end of one of our days here we were off pretty far, back into the park in this sort of valley area. No other Safari vehicles were on site and we just drove! My husband spotted a large tower of giraffe and so our driver/guide stopped so we could take photos. As time went on they got closer and closer and we ended up counting more than 24 Rothschild giraffe. It was BREATHTAKING! Nowhere else did we see so many. Got some incredible shots of them too that I hop to get printed one day and hang up in our house.
It was just a magical place. There are so many cool parks all over Kenya, but please don’t pass this one. Go to it! Enjoy! It’s beautiful!

Lake Nakuru
Add this location to your plans just to see the Black Rhino and the White Rhino. They present an amazing sight. Elephants are there and so are the buffalos, hippos, baboons, and antelope. Flamingos in The saline lake are present too. Come December and these Flamingos migrate to the Little Rann and the Greater Rann in Kutch, India.
My trip to Nakuru was enjoyable.

Beautiful park with a bunch of buffalos and Rothschild’s giraffes and of course zebras! Also, we caught two lioness relaxing next to the carcass in the bushes very close to the road. We also saw rhino and flemingos, but in smaler amount then usual as the water levels are high! Be sure to take at least 3 to 5 hours to explore the park! And do go to the Makalia falls!

Crescent Island Game Sanctuary is a wildlife reserve that houses Masai giraffes, hippos, zebras, and pelicans. Visitors can enjoy guided walking safaris, offering a unique opportunity to observe the animals up close. Despite the limited selection of animals on offer, visitors are virtually guaranteed to see them all due to the island's compact size.
Love the experience. Being able to walk around the animals is such a unique feeling and can be even better than safari to certain extent. The selection of animals are not wide, but it’s almost guaranteed that you will see them all since the island is not huge. Gazelle, waterbuck, zebra, wildebeest, lots of birds, and finally, six magnificent giraffes! The boat ride is also a nice part of the journey and there are several hippo families!
Mina — Google review
Highly recommended activity in Naivasha. Guide is available in the island. A long walking experience amongst zebras, giraffes, impalas, wildebeests, water bucks, ostriches, and a lot of other birds. Fantastic experience. Kids above 5 and adults will enjoy the scenic beauty. The guide is very knowledgeable and explains everything in detail.
L V — Google review
You get to experience walking amongst the animals, mostly herbivores. On the way to the island, you get to see some of Africa's most majestic birds on a boat. This was my first time on any island, and it has been an incredible experience.
Our tour guide was a member of the Maasai people from Samburu. Got to hear some amazing Maasai stories. Simply incredible.
Lebogang Ratsoana — Google review
Great place to walk between the animals. Get a guide and the will tour you arround the Island and spot the animals.
Lasse Bourgonje — Google review
My walking safari on Crescent Island was a truly remarkable experience, especially because of its less touristic nature. This unique aspect made the adventure feel more personal and intimate, a welcome change from the usual crowded safari experiences.
The tranquility of Crescent Island in the late afternoon added a serene and almost magical quality to the safari. Walking freely among the wildlife without the hustle and bustle typically associated with popular tourist spots was a refreshing experience. The calm of the evening made the encounters with the animals even more special.
Being able to walk alongside giraffes, zebras, and various antelopes was an incredible experience. The close proximity to these graceful creatures, in a setting that was peaceful and uncrowded, allowed for a genuine connection with nature. It felt like we were guests in their home, wandering amongst them with a sense of awe and respect.
The less touristic nature of the safari towards the end of the day also meant that we could enjoy the beauty of the island at our own pace. It felt like we had the place to ourselves, which made the experience even more memorable.
In conclusion, the walking safari on Crescent Island is a must-do for anyone looking for a unique, peaceful wildlife experience. The chance to walk among the animals in a less crowded setting, especially towards the end of the day, offers a special opportunity to intimately connect with the wonders of nature. This safari is not just an activity; it's an immersion into the tranquility and beauty of the Kenyan wilderness.

Totally was down to go walk with animals.
Highly recommend this for couples you can even stop for a picnic.
Beautiful scenery my gooosh.
You use a boat from the shore to get there and pay 800/= for Kenyans.
No cars so carry sporty shoes, and make sure you go to the museum.
Lynn Makena — Google review
The island itself is very beautiful, and there are some animals there, but less than during a game drive. On the other hand, you can walk all the time, so it's a nice change if you're all the time in a vehicle for safari. I would have liked to see a better pathway to the boat, especially since I was traveling with my mother who has back issues and was afraid of slipping and hurting herself (and your shoes and pants will get terribly dirty, as well). Even though this was included on our ClubMed tour (we had it in writing), our local guide said we had to pay in cash 2000 Schillings per person for the boat and give an extra tip to the guide on the island...
Andr? Marques — Google review
Going for a guided nature walk and being so close to the wild animals was an experience I really enjoyed.
Cresent is as a result of reduced water levels in L. Naivasha and you can only guess that the place is only accessible by boat. It is approximately a 10 min boat ride from the shores. One will not miss to see the variety of birds and very large hippos.
The entrance ticket rates are quiet affordable and also doesn't take a lot of time to queue. There is a toilet on site though near the game sanctuary entrance. The walk is a bit long and it is advised to wear comfortable hiking shoes plus carry some drinking water.
There are currently no carnivores on the island thus the freedom to walk so close to the animals. It is definitely a place worth visiting 💯💯❤️.

This place is simply AMAZING. A corner of paradise. Walk among free wild animals who are barely afraid of humans, get soooo near to them and observe then in their environment.
The complete tour may take 2 hours, depending how much you wander on the island. There are guides to explain you facts about wildlife as well as the history of the island.
Bring cash or mPesa: they don't accept credit cards.
Monica Rinaldi — Google review
To be able to walk among and next to wild animals was an amazing feeling. Some people might say it's kind of a big zoo out in the open but I don't agree.
If you're a foreigner make sure you pay in the local currency as the exchange rate favours you.
It's not an absolute must if you're in Naivasha but if you have time be sure to squeeze it into your itinerary

This place was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere very captivating, with animals all around and the guide made the experience even better. You should definitely check it out!
Jane Munderu — Google review
It's an ok experience at best. The boat cost, the park fee and the extra tipping is all a game to make you the tourist pay. Yes you can walk with zebras and giraffes but it's a elaborate zoo. The guides are nice hence no problem to tip them but the company should pay them living wages instead of them relying on tourists. The total cost isn't worth it with everyone from boatman to park management trying to rip you off. You are basically a donkey with a different appearance if you go do this.
Sarthak Rastogi — Google review
Great walking safari experience. You have to negotiate for the boat trip price as they try to rip you off but it’s worth doing to see the hippos. Once you get to the island you’re guaranteed to see a lot of animals and the walk around takes about 1.5 hours

Absolutely fantastic! Great place, very romantic, I had the most amazing experience, perfect for a romantic get away, unique experience where you get so close to the animals in the park, the boat ride was awesome as well. Highly recommend
Hells Gate National Park is a beloved sanctuary for wildlife enthusiasts, boasting rich biodiversity and scenic landscapes that draw in birdwatchers, photographers, hikers, horse-riders, cyclists and campers alike. Located near Lake Naivasha, visitors can enjoy the tranquil sounds of hippos as they relax by a roaring fire at the on-site bar. Accommodation ranges from affordable dorms to camping options or guesthouses by the lake.
I loved the experience, starting from the biking experience at the entrance down to the gorge and also our tour guide in the park Gadaffi was awesome at his job. Kelvin who picked me up from my apartment and took me and some other tourist to see the Hell's gate and the Lake was a very nice fellow. He was very vocal and friendly. It was a 10/10 experience for me.

A memorable and extraordinary tour.
The park took measures to keep visitors safe as the gorges were closed during our visit for safety reasons and to avoid flash flooding accidents.
The cliffs are breathtaking and spectacular.
We enjoyed the natural beauty and atmosphere as we took up bike riding, rock climbing and the game drive. The dusty roads are perfectly complemented by some stretches of paved roads with views of Geothermal drilling sites.
Epic!!!

The environment is too peaceful I wouldn't mind going back again. There is quite a lot to admire about the place, wildlife, caves, cliffs.
Did you know that there was a scene of a popular animation that was shot in Hell's gate take a closer look at the photo of the man standing next to the cliff.
You will enjoy the views at Hell's gate.

Best Safari tour in Kenya!! Took the bike ride up (12km). Relived Lion king locations! Saw wild giraffes, zebras, baboons, pumas, bulls, & more. My tour guide Isaac was amazing. Booked thru trip advisor! Worth the money and time.
- physically demanding.

Such a hidden gem in Kenya. We loved the drive, hiking through the national park, exploring the hot water streams, and learning about various plants from our guide. It was peaceful on top. Definitely recommend spending some time here. Also seeing the Pride rock is pretty cool, that's where the Lion King was shot.

Our favorite was the 2.5 hour tour to visit the gorge. It’s another ticket to pay though on top of the ticket from the main gate. The structure and texture of the gorge are so beautiful. We walked there in awe of nature.

Incredible in all ways and definitely worth the trip. Moi South Lake road was redone so it's a smooth drive. A bit pricey given the activities within the park are not catered for in the park fees. Community fees to trek along the gorge ranging from 2000 to 4000 (per group) depending on the length of the hike. Then a per person entrance fee into the geothermal spa.

Unique safari which can be done on foot, bicycle or car. No predators but you can see a lot of giraffes, antelope, zebras etc. The scenery is beautiful with huge cliffs and a canyon you can walk along. Would recommend getting a guide as it’s always obvious where to go

Located northwest of Nairobi, Hell's Gate National Park was named by British explores in the 1880s after the narrow break in the cliffs. The national park is known for its wide variety of wildlife and for its scenery. Additionally, it has three basic campsites and a Maasai Cultural Center.

A nice getaway for nature lovers. The beautiful landscape creates a perfect environment for those who'd like to unwind and get in touch with nature as you watch the animals grazing.Cycling through the park gives you a more authentic experience. For those who love rock climbing, Fischer's tower offers an awesome opportunity for that.

To sum it up, it was amazing! To see wild animals roaming around as they do while you cycle through the park is a truly remarkable experience.
You can come in with your car as well but I would, wholeheartedly, recommend renting a bicycle and going through the park like that.
The park is huge and I think it's almost impossible to cover the whole area in one day on a bike.
We ended up at one of the other gates close to the geothermal spa and that's exactly what we needed after a long day of cycling and hiking

Easy to access the place. Affordable rates for group bonding activities: a friendly guide was allocated to our group. He was very knowledgeable and encouraged us to hike and knew the natural habit of the area inclusive of types of reptiles, animals that are in the place. An ideal place that is near Nairobi and has a range of outdoor activities: cycling and hikes. Kids friendly for kids above 6years who can cycle independently.

If you want an escape from the noisy daily life in towns and work, Hells Gate is the perfect location. A place where I did meditate and get to bond and experience the beauty of mother nature. If you have some extra coins and time then why not visit. I would recommend it to anyone and I will definitely visit the place once again.

It's a really nice experience to have a bike safari. Even though there are no predators, there is plenty of animals to see. We saw Zebras, Buffalo, Gazelles, Antelopes, Baboons, Warthogs, Vultures, and one Giraffe.
Bikes could be better but they were enough for 3hrs trip. Guide is helpful but not necessary if you want to bike kn your own. Thanks to guide we hiked down the canyon.

It's not every day you get to see a giraffe 🦒 breastfed in close proximity to a zebra 🦓 grazing. All this when youre on a bike heading to the historical hells gate, the devil's kitchen and bathroom. What about the natural hot shower then wind up in a natural therapeutic Naturally heated spa ♨?
The place is amazing. You can walk, ride a bike or drive. Just pay the park entrance fee in advance via ecitizen because network signal is scanty at best and non existence at worst.... At the entrance. Friendly park rates.
On the downside, the guides are greedy. The bikes for hire are in bad state making for a not soo comfortable ride even after paying ksh800. Carry your bike if you can or drive.

It’s an amazing experience to visit a park where cycling and walking is allowed.
The park has absolutely stunning landscapes from gorges to high rocks and springs to the beautiful wildlife especially the zebras.
The trails are well maintained to accommodate both cyclists, cars and those on foot.
While there get to explore the Olkaria Geothermal spa for some hot swim and unforgettable memories
Historic tea planation on a site including gardens & indigenous forest, with tours & dining.
Best place to go to while staying in Nairobi. The place has a lot to offer including the excellent sightseeing, soothing jungle chimes, and best lunch and tea/ coffee in Nairobi. One gets a slight flavor of Downtown Abbey as the hostess is British whose grandfather bought the farm in early 20th century.

We spend a lovely day at the Kiambethu Farm, just an hour drive from Nairobi. Fiona, who runs the farm, was very friendly, it was nice to go through the history of her family who ran the farm since 1910.
The garden surrounding the farm is superb, with a wide variety of birds and plants.
After visiting the tea plantations and the forest nearby, we had a delicious lunch in the garden, with vegetarian options.
Thank you Fiona and all the staff working there!
I recommend this place 100%!

Very happy today after an amazing tour to the farm. We started our tour from tea plantation, before we proceeded to look around the farm we were served with tea and home made delicious cookies. We took 15 min walk around the forest which is home to many medicinal plants and trees. Then we took our lunch. The food was mouth watering with great variety and desert made from farm fresh milk from Irish breed cows in the farm. We spent couple of more hours watching the plants (the plants are available for sale) and birds. We bought butter made from fresh milk and cookies. Thank you to Fiona and team. You are amazing. We learnt a lot from you Fiona. The place is value for money. We spent quality time. Thank you

Nice visit to the house and garden, though it has not really been a tea farm for a very long time. We were taken to the bottom of the garden to see the tea plot they still have, though the fields beyond were sold off long ago. I think the talk would have been enhanced by acknowledging the enormous unfairness of the colonial period, which allowed Kenyan land to be sold at the time by the British Government to Brits. Enjoyed the short forest walk due to the information on the medicinal plants. The only issue overall was the lunch, very plain canteen fare.

Kiambethu Tea Farm, run by Fiona, is a delightful destination. In search of a pleasant activity in Nairobi, visiting Fiona's farm proved to be our best choice. Surrounded by picturesque tea plant hills and lush greenery, the place itself is extraordinary.
Fiona, a welcoming and warm host, adds a personal touch to the experience. Learning about her family's history enhances the authenticity of the visit.
Notably, the lunch exceeded our expectations. The diverse array of delicious dishes at the well-arranged buffet, including homemade ice creams, was a pleasant surprise. It's worth mentioning that Fiona and her staff are considerate of allergies.
Lastly, the tea stands out as one of the best I've ever had!

My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting the Kimbethu Tea Farm, an experience that stands out as a highlight of our day tour excursion while on our Two days Visit to Nairobi. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Fiona, who served not only as our guide but also as an ambassador to the rich heritage and thorough process of tea farming that defines this place.
Fiona led us through the lush green fields, sharing insights about the farm's history, the varieties of tea produced, and the delicate process from leaf to cup. Her passion for tea and the farm was contagious, making the tour not just educational but genuinely captivating.
A special mention must be made of the lunch provided. It was a delightful experience that complemented the day's activities perfectly, offering a taste of local cuisine in a setting that couldn't have been more serene. The hospitality extended to us was unparalleled, making us feel more like honored guests than visitors.
In conclusion, the visit to Kimbethu Tea Farm was more than just a tour; it was an immersive experience that offered deep insights into the world of tea, enriched by the warmth and hospitality of Fiona and the team. This is an excursion I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience. The blend of beautiful scenery, fascinating education, and exceptional hospitality makes this tour a must-do for travelers and tea lovers alike.
The Karen Blixen Museum is a museum in Nairobi, Kenya, that contains the belongings of Danish author Karen Blixen. The home where she lived and wrote her famous memoirs is also on display. The museum offers guided tours throughout the week and on weekends until 6 p.m., which give tourists a peek into colonial life in the 20th century.
The history of Karen Blixen has been preserved here... Very interesting albeit sad. Great place for an afternoon visit...it's takes slightly less than an hour...if you're a resident, please carry your card.

History at the palm of a hand, is probably appreciated a bit more if you watch " Out of Africa" first. Disappointingly no animals on site, regardless a "must-see " if you are in Nairobi. My advice would be to get a local Sim card with Safaricom and get Mpesa, it's such a popular payment method in Kenya, that it will make your stay MUCH easier. Have a good time.

It is a nice place with lots of history...the museum itself is the house Karen Blixen lived in so going there is getting a glimpse into her life and how she lived; what utensils and other home articles were available to the elite that time...her story is an interesting though sad one a little. There is also a small nature forest for those who love to go on nature trails and the field is beautiful for chilling on your shukas and picnic baskets

If you are a fan of the movie 'Out of Africa', it is a must-visit place in Nairobi. The museum used to be home for Karen, also the film location back in 1900s. We came excited to feed and take photos with the giraffes. It was fun to feed them and take photos. A must see for kids and adults who love giraffes. There were baby giraffes too ! It doesn’t take more than half an hour to go through the park. There is a museum section that you can learn about the history of giraffe center. There is another raised boardwalk section that you can feed giraffes and take photos.
The area has lots of security, is clean and well maintained. There is also a small stand to have food and drink when you are done. Multiple wash stations are available to wash your hands.
There could be more improvements in terms of maybe having more activities for kids. Maybe a section to have a giraffe centered playground.
As we were leaving we saw a trail that was open to the public across the center and we went it for about five minutes. We didn’t complete the trail though. We didn’t know how long it would take and there were no signs describing how long it would take.

The Elephant Nursery is a place in Kenya that takes care of orphaned elephants and rhinos. It was founded by Dame Sheldrick, a conservationist who worked with her husband to reintroduce these animals back into the wild. You can visit the nursery and adopt an elephant as a way of supporting their conservation.
What a truly amazing place and incredible experience.
The volunteers at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust do a brilliant job of rehabilitating and looking after the elephants and it is very evident that the elephants are very happy and comfortable with their surroundings.
Absolutely no mistreatment of any kind to the elephants which was wonderful to see.
On to the experience itself: There is only a one hour slot to see the elephants which is 11-12. You will arrive and then walk to the area the elephants are fed. You will all stand around the edge of the enclosure and observe them being fed and playing. There are chances to touch the elephants and take pictures as they roam around. This all takes place while you learn more about the Trust and the elephants themselves.
A few things to note regarding the experience as a whole:
1. The ground where you walk, from parking up to seeing the elephants is extremely uneven! (I did see however provisions in place for wheelchair users)
2. You do not get to feed the elephants (This is due to not wanting the elephants to get to trusting of humans as eventually they are released into the wild)
3. If you go on a dry day the ground is extremely dusty! Your shoes and clothes (potentially) will get dusty for sure!
Overall though an absolute must do experience in Nairobi!

It’s so fun, watching the babies play in mud and with each other and to pet them as they walk past. Also, while they enjoy playing in the muddy water, they can splash spectators with the muddy water, as they did the people standing around me (I had faster reflexes…lol)…such fun. Definitely a must -do activity.

A must visit for children or adults. David Sheldrick trust are doing a commendable work rescuing helpless elephants and rhinos. Book your visit in advance as the viewing time window and strictly one hour 11am- 12noon. Only limited number of spectators are allowed in so as not to stress out the animals. They way these babies understand cues and admonishes from the attendants like little kids is just adorable. They give you stories of each rescue and let you sponsor the orphans and send you regular updates on them. They give you time to ask questions at the end of viewing. It's a lovely place to be.

You better book early enough just to avoid inconveniences at the gate. You wont be allowed to in without booking. Awesome place to learn about orphan elephants and how to take part in conservation. You can pay entrance fees to National park and use the same ticket at the shelter.

Really nice experience. Baby elephants are super cute. They come in 2 groups of almost 20 elephants. In the meantime the head keeper tells the story of the nursery as well the story of each baby elephant. Total duration of one hour, 30 minutes per group. Totally recommend to everyone visiting Nairobi.

Ellies!!! My favorite humans. Very interesting to see all the baby elephants. It was so much fun watching elephants run to get their bottles of milk. Also very knowledgeable tour on an hour of visiting them ! A must go place in Nairobi

An educational and preservation center, where the focus is on the baby elephants well-being.
Do not expect a “circus show”, but some real eye opening experience.
The baby elephants are presented for only 1 hour each day, during this time you can observe them feeding and playing.
I appreciated the lead caregiver explaining the history of each baby elephant: where was found, in which condition, what happened to its mother, how it evolved in the nursery and of course its name.

Very nice place to visit, confusion on payment ie USD vs mpesa, email indicted Mpesa but they would not accept!!!, narration to describe the elephants etc was very well done. As usual silly tourists and their selfies can ruin the experience, so please crowds shut up and listen

Was lovely to see the baby elephants and rhino being taken care of. Quite an experience to get up close. Being told the names and stories of each of the animals added a personal touch. The interaction between the animals and carers was adorable.
Good to know... Check the weather and wear appropriate clothing, this will enhance the outdoor experience. Perfect for any age group.

Nairobi National Park is a large and important park in the city of Nairobi, Kenya. It is home to a variety of big game animals, as well as a number of animal sanctuaries. The park is an important place for people to see endangered species in their natural habitats.
Magical experience. I would recommend a morning visit during calm weather. You will be able to see lots of animals. Since they tend to hide when the sun is too hot. The during rainy season the roads are muddy.
linah Brucks — Google review
The park will surely present a pleasant experience if you know when to go. It is advisable to first inquire on when the best time to visit the park is as the main attraction of animals such as lions can be hard to find at times. Lastly I would highly recommend a guide as they know where certain animals can be found and crucially when.

Conveniently located Right in the heart of the city. So for those of you visiting Nairobi for a short period, this is the park you need to visit.
Check migration dates etc before you venture out so that you aren’t disappointed.
I was quite intrigued but he ivory graveyard and the governments efforts to curb poaching by. Truly commendable.
Was so happy to see two lions as well. Thankfully they had just eaten, so were resting and we got a fairly close up shot of them.
You definitely need a local guide/driver to take you in or else you’d be happy hire lost.
Yes it’s a trifle expensive for non-residents

I just love the fact that it is right in the city!!! So you can just take a cab and go.
You see the animals very close. Even though the park is huge you have 99% chance to see them all! What more to ask!!! Really a must visit if you are in Nairobi.

Nature is beautiful. Had an awesome experience here during an evening game drive. It was my first experiencing the wild and it was pretty interesting. Entrance was seamless, and was able to use a private car which made it even more fun. The most experience that capped it was the beautiful sunset. So beautiful!!!

This is definitely a national treasure and should be on the world map! It was an amazing experience! We set out early early and apparently that’s the best time. We saw lions, zebras, buffalos, a giraffe , antelopes and even almost caught a hunt by some lions. Our driver was super amazing and really helpful. That really added to making it super pleasant

It took 3-4 hrs to see the national park and animal orphanage. A wild animal habitat next to the modernized Nairobi. We couldn't see lions, but other animals were easy to spotted. Great place to visit next to the city and so relaxing and appreciate the nature.

If you have a bit of time to spare, visit this park! The number of animals you can see here is astonishing considering how close it is to the city.
We took a half day tour and found all of the animals we were hoping to see. Lions, black and white rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, zebras, impala, eland, masai giraffe and much more.
I also counted over 50 different species of birds including white-backed vulture and secretary bird. Two species I hoped to see.

Definitely not the most picturesque park in Kenya, but a great option very close to the city. Your best opportunity to see rhinoceros as they can be very hard to spot in the other national parks. The park is a nice introduction to Safari.

Very cool to be located conveniently in Nairobi. Good chance of seeing some good animals if you don’t have much time to spend in Nairobi. Overall I think it’s worth the effort to visit. Highly recommend booking a trip here. Pretty neat park and overall good experience.

The good thing about that it is located in the center so you don't need to drive miles away to see some animals specially if you dont have enough time and they have many animals in side the park.....my recommendation is to be patient and don't make the drive rush you to exit and keep finding and tracking the animal..enjoy :)

Magical time I had here, just less than an hour from the city centre. Went for the safari in the morning was a great choice - to feel the breeze while enjoying the sunrise with the wildlife animals around. Took the 4x4 with James as our driver - he was an excellent driver and guide!

Lovely! We decided to treat the kids to a breakfast picnic at the park, followed by a self-drive game drive. The park roads have been freshly graded since our last visit so the drive was much more enjoyable. The animals were also quite in plenty. Best time though is early morning or late afternoon when most predators are out and about. We are planning another one soon... #TembeaKenya

This time was the first time to go safari and it was so good. I’ve been there at the morning so could see the most beautiful sunrise I’ve ever seen.
Also, there were so many kind of animals in there than o expected so I was so excited and could have fan.
I highly recommend this safari

I visited this park in September, 2915. I still have a lot of pictures. Just wanted to share with you guys. This safari is about 100+ square kilometers. Tremendous amount of wild live. Need to spend a whole day there. Make sure your car/truck does not breakdown inside the park. It is scary to have that thought cross your mind. Definitely recommended.

A nice experience but despite being out in the “safari” for several hours we did not see very many animals, at least not as many as expected.
Be sure to book your ticket online prior to arriving at the park. You cannot pay at the entrance. Cell service is terrible at the park. Even on their WiFi.

Many people skip this place for better known areas of Kenya, but it's well worth a visit. There are so many animals. We saw over 20 rhinos today, many zebras, giraffes, warthogs and different bird species.

The park as a way to fill in a day between flights and wow was it worth it! Our first national park but was a bit hesitant as it was so close to the town but we were not disappointed. We did have some issues paying the entrance fee as their credit card machine was not working and apparently often has issues.
Lucky for us, our guide paid with his own card and we paid him the cash directly As soon as we went through the gates we saw animals almost immediately! The city skyline behind was just mind blowing If you have been to the Serengeti or any of the other great parks, this isn't spectacular, however we did see Rhinos , buffaloes. If we need to look at the beauty at the National Park will see that more needs to be done for the animals to make them more attractive. It would be easier to track animals for easy spotting. Sometimes we drove aimlessly for minutes. Looked like it was waste of time and the zoo would probably be the best bet. Getting to see the animals in their natural state is exciting. so it as great to tick that one off so early Worth the visit it. We saw lions and Buffalo.

The only national park in the middle of a city!!
It was so amazing seeing quite a number of animals even the rare species like Cheetah, ostriches, rhinos, gazelles those that you do not see very often in just one hour. Very easy to drive though on a rainy season you need a four wheel for it kinda gets slippery. Had such an amazing time there with friends. Lions are so close up for good photography. Quite herds of antelopes and giraffes not forgetting the beautiful scenery of the city from a far.🥰

I recommend going early in the morning because it's not hot so you have a better chance of seeing most of the animals. I was happy to see the lions, rhinos, giraffes, hippos, impalas, zebras, guinea fowls etc. I would have loved to see all the big 5 though. The sunrise was breathtaking. It was a nice 3 hours drive.
Amboseli National Park is a natural sanctuary in Kenya that boasts an abundance of wildlife, including free-roaming elephants and over 400 species of birds. It is considered one of the top national parks in the country due to its stunning views of Mt Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, which can be seen against herds of big-tusked elephants. Although cloud cover may obscure the mountain at times during the day, visitors are rewarded with breathtaking vistas during dawn and dusk.
A place like no other. Absolutely stunning scenery, especially with the backdrop of Kilimanjaro. An extremely wide range of animals ranging from tortoises to hippos. Saw 3 of the big 5 here (Cheetah, Lion, Elephant). There are big herds here, we saw 100’s of elephants in a herd and saw cheetahs twice with one even hunting. The plains make it much easier to see the wildlife compared to Tsavo West where we also went on our travels. Highly recommend to go to if you are looking at which National park to go to. It’s a smaller park to the rest but there’s lots to see within it!

This is definitely something to do once in your life at least. It's really down to luck and a good guide to be able to see all the kind of animals the park hosts but you'll at least see lots of giraffes elephants and a variety of birds. Also buffaloes wildebeests impalas gazelles pelicans lions but they were a bit far baboons flamingoes and hippos. make sure to pack lunch so you can have it up on observation hill a cute romantic place hosting some really nice birds that will come quite close to you. The views are amazing and the overall experience is really unique. Things to know: bring passport and visa and if you're a non resident a card to pay with cause you won't be able to pay in kes or with ecetizen or mpesa apparently only residents or nationals are allowed these payment methods here. Strange cause my gf paid for me for tickets in other places with her ecetizen account or mpesa without any problems. Just be warned.

Fantastic National Park covering hundreds of square kilometers. Beautiful grasslands surrounded by mountains. Abundant wildlife sightings during safari. Many roads crisscrossing the park. A lot of elephants, zebras, flamingos, gazelles, giraffes, hippos, wildebeests, and other water birds. The views of Mt.Kilimanjaro are amazing. There are big wildcats like lions and cheetahs, but we did not see them during our three day stay.

A small national park as compared to Masaimara. A desert like environment in backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. But they have enough wildlife to satisfy your eyes. We came to know this national park is famous for Herd of Elephants and also for giraffes. We found that was very true, the elephants was everywhere. Located many herds of lions. Also there was enough cheetahs lions wild beasts and many more. The sky was cloudy so we didn't get good picture of Mount Kilimanjaro. But the other things was good.

One of the best places in Africa to watch elephants. It's is an absolute treat to watch these giants up close. Beautiful park. You can feel the grandeur of nature. And Mount Kilimanjaro stays there always in the background. A silent collosus watching us over.

We were told this park is famous for elephants, and it is! There are also buffalos and flamingos, the experience that elephants walking by our fleet was amazing, plenty of flamingos, though only young ones not so pink yet. Unluckily we didn't see the mountain.

If you are an elephant lover, Amboseli NP is the park for you-here you will see many herds of elephants, many more than you will ever spot in Masai Mara and you will have the opportunity to observe them quite close. I visited during the long rainy season, following a severe 2-year drought, so many of the savannahs were flooded, providing a unique opportunity to see hippos outside of the lake; walking, grazing and interacting. The birding was spectacular and because it is off season, it was extremely rare to have any other vehicles nearby, competing for viewing. There were times when we watched entire herds frolic for what seemed like hours.

Amboseli National Park is in southern Kenya. It’s known for its large elephant herds and views of immense Mount Kilimanjaro, across the border in Tanzania. Observation Hill offers panoramas of the peak and the park’s plains and swamps. Varied wildlife includes giraffes, zebras, cheetahs and hundreds of bird species. The western section is dominated by vast Lake Amboseli, which is dry outside the rainy season.

Love this National Park- visited 6 months ago and decided to come back in different season. Even though the drought has continued to impact area, we still saw plenty of wildlife again... elephants, giraffe, cape buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, warthogs, ostriches, lions, couple cheetah, hippos, monkeys, and amazing variety of birds.
The only negative part of the experience would be at the entrance/exit gate if you are traveling in a car- not flying in. If you're in an automobile and have any windows open, many people will come up to vehicle trying to sell you items and they are relentless.

This place is truly exceptional and offers stunning scenery, especially with the magnificent Kilimanjaro in the backdrop. The diversity of animals is astounding, ranging from the massive hippopotamuses to the elusive cheetahs. During my visit, I was lucky enough to witness three of the big five animals, including lions, cheetahs, and elephants. The vast plains make it easier to spot wildlife, and I highly recommend this National Park to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience.
As one of the most renowned parks in Kenya, it provides a unique opportunity to witness animals in their natural habitats. The infrastructure is excellent, and while it's possible to explore the park on your own, it's best to get a guide. The guides are knowledgeable and provide invaluable insights, making the experience even more remarkable.
There are also several comfortable lodges in the park that offer a cozy stay amidst the beautiful wildlife. The views are breathtaking, and I even witnessed a majestic lion lounging in the afternoon sun.
Overall, I had an unforgettable experience at this stunning game park and will undoubtedly be back soon. If you're looking for an incredible adventure in the heart of Kenya, this National Park should be at the top of your list.

One of Kenya’s premier national parks for megafauna. Go with a safari guide and try to stay inside the park if at all possible (an early game drive means more opportunity to see early riding animals such as lions). The environment is mostly open grassland so visibility is exceptional, and you can spot animals easily. I was able to get fairly up close to families of elephants grazing by the road, zebras, impala, wildebeest, and others

Perfect place to spot herds of gorgeous tuskers. Probably the only place where one can spot so many elephant herds. Fantastic views of Mount Kilimanjaro 😍 I only wish the tour guides were not so money minded, i get a feeling it's all way too monetized than keeping the best interests of animals at heart. We didn't spot any lions sadly but giraffes and flamingos added to the beauty. Gorgeous place!

It was our first time visiting the safari with my family about a month ago. Amboseli National Park gave us an incredible experience. The sight of a hundred elephants against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro was truly priceless. We were able to explore five different habitats including savannah, woodland, swamps, rockland, and marshland. During our visit, we had the opportunity to spot cheetahs, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, hyenas, wildebeests, hippos, and various types of birds. However, we were a bit disappointed as we didn't get to see any lions or leopards. Nevertheless, this park is truly unique with its stunning view of Kilimanjaro and abundant wildlife.

👎🏻 The rangers are missing from the National Park and not doing anything to protect the animals. There was a herd of elephants crossing the main road and 30 or so tour vehicles parked on the road. It was so congested the elephants were all not able to cross the road and had to find another way. There are too many tour operators unfortunately and not everyone cares for animals.
We just came from Masai Mara and it is very different there. The tour guides are mindful to keep their distance from any animal and they follow a max of 5 cars per animal so the animals are never crowded and allowed to be comfortable in their own environment.
👍🏻 We saw herds of elephants from a distance and up close. The park is home to the elephants for sure so hopefully visitors and the local government will protect them.
⭐️⭐️ tip: always keep arms and legs covered up. Because of the swamps nearby, there are all sorts of insects that will bite you. Use insect repellant and cover up as much as possible.

Mt Kilimanjaro, a renowned mountain with three volcanic cones, is a popular climbing destination that offers seven trekking routes. Visitors can fly directly into Kilimanjaro and be greeted by a private guide who can take them to Tarangire National Park - part of the country's famous Northern Circuit. Despite being less crowded than other neighboring parks, Tarangire provides excellent game-viewing opportunities and an exclusive atmosphere.
Climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in January 2022 on the 8 day Lemosho route with Ultimate Kilimanjaro. The route was very scenic, passing through a range of different landscapes. Summit day in particular was more difficult than the other days - we started hiking around midnight and the conditions were very cold and windy (~100kmph winds). However our group of 8 had four guides (August - the lead guide, Ewald, Godfrid and Thadey) and we felt very safe in their capable hands. On summit day, our team of guides went above and beyond to help us reach the summit - they helped with everything from pulling water bottles and snacks out of our backpacks, tying laces, adjusting headlamps to singing mountain songs and chanting words of encouragement to keep our spirits up. There were two hikers in the group that felt unwell from day 2, but the guides went above and beyond to help them (carrying their day packs, monitoring and conducting extra health checks, delivering food to their tents etc). It was comforting to know that had we been unwell, we would have also been well looked after.
I highly recommend doing the Kilimanjaro hike and recommend the team of guides at Ultimate Kilimanjaro (and in particular the lead guide, August).

A once in a lifetime experience to climb the Kili. Was really worth it with a great group of guides. Loved everyday of it.
As other people mention that give a bad review. I will tell some things about the Kilimanjaro.
- NO, there is no WiFi…
- YES, it is rocky and steep at some places.
- YES, it can get really cold on the summit.
- YES, there are toilets and NO they aren’t the cleanest. But what can one expect on a huge mountain at that altitudes.
- YES, it can rain or snow and get windy.
And finally, YES it is beautiful to climb the Kilimanjaro!

Nice 8 day Lemosho hike to summit but a few sections felt precarious especially around barranco wall because of the rock scrambling through the cliff. Most days are long drudgery with gradual elevation, including a few nice views at cathedral rock and other sections. Trail conditions were generally good, but had some muddy slippery sections.
With the help of guides and porters and having great fitness, this hike can be quite easy and comfortable. Be sure to bring hiking poles because of loose rocks and soil in certain sections. Bring medication like altitude sickness, and some Acetaminophen or ibuprofen in case of migraines and headaches. The hike itself can be easy until summit day.
I would also recommend bringing dry shampoo because no showers are available. Bring different layers of clothing. It can get hot and can be extremely cold at night.
Most importantly, don’t try to hike this mountain until gaining some experience in high altitude trekking. Saw a few people struggling getting rescued and vomit spots on the side of the trails. Some people gave up.
I have hiked half dome, salkantay, mount whitney california, grand canyon rim to rim, kalalau trail, pct, appalachian trail, the sierra nevadas, trails in new zealand and japan without porters and guides and in a shorter amount of time. The experience from these hikes had prepared me for kilimanjaro, and so hiking kili was more comfortable other than not bringing the right outer shell gloves.

Kilimanjaro is a must for any hiker/nature lover. What an amazing experience, lifelong experience for sure! But this is NOT a tourist activity! And if you have not experienced any high altitude mountains before can be a big change.
Anyway, climbing mount Kilimanjaro is like entering 5 different worlds!! First rainforest, low vegetation, rocky terrain (like being on Mars), artic desert, snow and then glacier!!! What an experience! I was so impressed and delighted I was there. Good thing is that you always go with local hiking companies so everything is organized. You have water, food, porters and ppl who climb Kili many times so guides are quite experienced. IF YOU HAVE WILL TO CLIMB KILI YOU SHOULD DO IT!!

I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, being the tallest mountain in Africa located in Tanzania, with its highest peak at 5,895Meters (19,340 feet). I am at Uhuru Peak (highest peak) and very proud of myself for having achieved this milestone.
The climb was gentle the first few days and once we got to Kibo Hut at 4,720M above sea level, I felt a bit queasy, the air was thinner, breathing was a bit more difficult but manageable. I experienced some altitude sickness, though we had also taken some time to adjust to the elevation. I never imagined sleeping at such an altitude either!
We were a great team, with experienced guides, cook, porters and fellow hikers.
Our vitals were taken at each elevation, which is good to monitor how your body is doing as you assess yourself on a scale of 1-10 on how you feel.
On descending and looking back, I feel like it was just a dream... Wow, did I do that!.. And now I have just woken up and preparing for my next hike..
I received a certificate too!
Well, this achievement and experience also demonstrates my own goals that I can attain outside the corporate world. Take some time off, prepare and do it!

This is a very calm and serene environment. It harbors the most rare fish in the world Oreochromis hunteri. The environment is breath taking from the vegetation, the lake, the monkeys and the geckos. You should visit the place, and the lake has it legend that a long time ago some villagers were staying on top of the hill before it sank with the village clan. So every night people can be heard screaming and beating drums to be rescued...... Visitors should be very careful with the waters as it's very deep and most people who drowned in it have never been found. And the lake has 7 outlets that drain water to Indian ocean, lake Jipe, Tanzania,

An absolute marvel! Lake Chala, bordering Tanzania and Kenya, is a sight to behold. The beauty of this lake is unmatched, with its serene waters and stunning surroundings. Canoeing along the edges, with playful monkeys in the trees, is a delightful experience that adds an extra touch of wonder. The view here is simply breathtaking, offering an escape into nature's beauty. If you're looking for a serene, picturesque spot that showcases the natural wonders of East Africa, Lake Chala is a must-visit destination.

Lake Chala is a crater lake that borders Kenya and Tanzania. Visited from the Kenyan side. You can have views for days and we set up a picnic lunch there and It was so beautiful. The water is so blue and fresh. There are fishermen around that can take you fishing or just canoeing. Note that, the roads are dusty and you need a 4 by 4 fully equipped with water, food and personal effects if going camping as there are no hotels or shopping centres nearby. Such a beautiful place should be invested in.

Gorgeous crater lake in Taveta, at the border of Kenya and Tanzania. The lake is surrounded by lush vegetation and best of all there isn't much human activity, you see the lake in its most natural setting. The path down to the shores is steep but not difficult to climb. A word of caution - the lake is very deep right from the shores so it's advisable not to swim, however tempting it might be, unless you're an expert swimmer.

The views here are spectacular beautiful.
Down the lake is muuuuuch more spectacular but it's breathtaking experience to trek through the stones.

This is a strikingly beautiful crator lake inside a a caldera. The hike to the bottom is a bit steep so you have to be careful with your footing. The lake itself has magnificent shades of blue, green or turquoise depending on the time of the year and how the light hits it. Only downside is that it isnt that swimmer friendly and you are met with warning signs all the way down. There is a broken canoe there but it would have been a perfect place to canoe or kayak. If you have a drone its also a great place for some aerial shots.
Daniel Msirikale — Google review
Such a beautiful lake, all surrounded by a ridge, so you go up a small hill then descend down. Getting to the lake is about a 5mins trek down where you have to watch your steps carefully, and the hike up will get you to break into a sweat.

This a beautiful crater lake share by Kenya and Tanzania. It is so difficult to access it from the Kenyan side because of the condition of the road so I would advise people to use a 4WD when going there. I did not swim in the lake but other people who did enjoyed it, keep in mind that the track down to the lake is rough so wear the right shoes to avoid any accidents.
The Cultural Heritage Centre is a remarkable establishment that combines an African art gallery, a jewelry shop featuring precious stones, and a global restaurant. The beautiful building houses thousands of exquisite African artworks that are well-organized and accessible via wheelchair to all levels. In addition to the impressive exhibits, there are also two restaurants serving delicious cuisine. This center offers visitors souvenirs, art, culture and history in one location and requires ample time to fully appreciate all it has to offer.
Such a beautiful place with stunning artwork. It took me about 45 minutes just to skim through most of the art but I loved every bit of it. Inside, it spirals up each level and offers thousands of pieces of beautiful African artwork. The building is also lovely and there are a couple of nice coffee shops in there!

This museum is the largest in Africa with a wide array of paintings and artwork from local and other African Countries. I was absolutely blow away by the collection and history behind each piece. Entrance is free and there are plenty of shops and restaurantson the grounds! A definite must while in Arusha.

Enter through the gift shop...literally...but the real treasure here is in the Cultural Center behind. The basement is so jammed with Zanzibar chests, doorways and canvases it is hard to navigate. Pieces on the upper floors are easier to appreciate with a more space around them. Masks and sculpture are the highlights here. The cafe is good for a calm bite away from the frenetic front street.

Souvenirs, art, culture and history in one place. Well organized art gallery and the good thing is it has a wheelchair access to all its floors.
The gallery has 2 restaurants and food is available. You need some ample time to enjoy the gallery.

This gallery will overwhelm your sight sense because of its massive-ness in size. Colours come alive as you walk around, through the beautiful paintings, unique carvings & architectural design.

This spot has some impressive architecture and an amazing collection of African Art, not just from Tanzania. However, it's important to remember that it's not a museum; many of the art pieces are up for sale. There's a wealth of information available about the history and the artists behind the pieces. But be prepared, the prices are steep, although the quality is undoubtedly high.
A heads-up about the sales approach here: it can feel a bit pushy. For instance, we had a salesperson stick right by our side the whole time, which was pretty uncomfortable. When we moved to a different section and encountered another salesman, the first one got upset, even shouted something in Swahili to the other guy, and then continued to follow us. It felt like we were assigned to him for our entire visit.
On a positive note, the paintings in the art gallery are truly epic, albeit way out of our budget. We ended up browsing through all the artifacts and then headed to the Masai market to find more budget-friendly items.

No bargaining (which I prefer), large assortment of products sold. Anything you want to buy as souvenir they should have. Prices are ok, but somethings maybe cheaper elsewhere in smaller shops. Gorgeous art gallery and sculptures too..

Impressive offer of what I would deem good to excellent quality souvenirs and art. The whole 'cultural'/arts center is worth a visit. However, I am not a good reference when it comes to the purchase of 'souvenirs' as I stopped years ago buying them.

We had the most amazing experience at the Cultural Heritage Center in Nairobi Kenya. We saw a culture show where they had several Kenyan tribes perform dance, singing, and music program. We were able to eat authentic vegetarian Kenyan food at their restaurant. Seeing all the various types of villages of their tribes was also a unique experience. In addition, we were able to purchase some traditional Kenyan ornaments, jewelry, and clothing from the tribal people's stalls over there.

Located in the heart of Arusha, Tanzania.
Cultural Heritage Center is a 4 storey gallery where you learn the history of different tribes in Tanzania. The art showcases their way of life, their community, beliefs and history.
It's also an art gallery where you can purchase your souvenir and art.
It's free to tour the gallery, no queue and spacious for large groups.

Amazingly well built souvenir shop and art gallery. The architecture design rivals some of the best museums I've been to anywhere in the world. A multi-story art gallery building with half levels throughout and a central stairwell and open atrium. Definitely a must visit if you love to see fine African art.

Incredible place! There are 2 restaurants, 4 floors of shopping in the mail building, 3 or so other huts for shopping, a huge 4 floor art gallery and bathrooms. There are sculptures outside, the grounds are well kept, the bathroom clean and the food choices amazing! I didn’t take many pictures as I wasn’t sure I was allowed to in the gallery. The employees are attentive, but not pushing or following around. They left me alone to do my shopping which was a definite change from the Maasai market! This is the place to buy your tanzanite!

Maji Moto Hot Spring is so beautiful and completely unexpected in its area… like a secret paradise! The people are welcoming, kind and look out for your safety. 5,000 tsh entrance fee and another 5,000 tsh if you want a floaty (recommended ;) The local food options are also great and the water is completely safe :) Do be aware of the little fish that come around d though, they like to eat the dead skin off your feet but are completely harmless, just tickle a little.

A nice natural spring where you can enjoy a relaxing swim..
There are two 'pools' with the upper being the friendliest to non expert swimmers- I found the water in the lower pool too strong and had to be assisted by my more experienced colleagues to navigate the water.
And yeah...it's pretty deep, in general, so wear a floater especially if you're not a good swimmer.
The fish that nimble away at your feet make the whole experience quite a nice feeling.
Concerning the charges, I found the fee fair considering what we pay when you want to enjoy the water in a hotel swimming pool.
There are some food kiosks outside the swimming area but don't expect mouthwatering meals- I don't think it's the best there's but you can take rice or a few snacks to keep you going as you wait to go back to town for a proper meal.
Otherwise, the staff is welcoming and quick to act in case you need something.
Oh and there are some daredevil divers who jump from high up some trees on the 'shores' to the water while pulling some crazy stunts... they're a joy to watch and even invite you to try if you are courageous enough
A few things I didn't like now...
1..The road that branches to the place is very dusty during the sunny season- I'm not sure if its okay during muddy season because I was there when sunny- so they need to tarmac it as the springs could bring in more tourists.
2. There were some bhang-smoking idlers outside the food kiosks (outside the springs area) and the bhang smell was a turn off.
3. The toilets are not of high standards from the structure to the hygiene levels- I hope they'll be doing better ones in the future

Must visit place...
If you are near by Arusha or Moshi, you should visit this...
It's a place for relaxing your mind and body.
The water is crystal clear and hot ( not too much but ok)...
Condition of road is very poor (From the main road to this place)...
Though it is below 15km it takes much time to reach the destination because of the poor condition of the road...
Be careful about your valuable things...

Fantastic place to chill on a hot day. The water’s not hot, just warm so it’s refreshing, and there’s lots of shade. You need to swim as the water is deep or there seem to be inflatable tires to rent. Shops and bars are in the parking lot. It can get pretty crowded though.

Small but very nice & family friendly place. The road there is quite rough. Entry fee is 10k TZS. Tuktuk back to Bomangombe cost us 25k TZS. You should definitely visit.
M — Google review
This is NOT a hot spring. The water isn't even warm. We visited in August. The water temperature was around 28⁰C.
I don't understand what the entry fees are for (10k TSH per adult and 5k TSH per child) when the place isn't maintained with any kind of facilities! The toilets aren't clean (no toilet seats, but rather floor mounted seats), no tables or chairs (except for a broken bench that's hard to reach near the reception's pool entry), no lockers or a safe place to store your stuff, and the entry to the pool is slippery and not easy. No towels are offered. If you want to have a rubber ring floatie, you have to rent it for 5k TSH.
There are guys who would offer being a swimming assistant for those who need it
The two stars is for the natural beauty of the water and the few underwater creatures there (we saw a small turtle, a few small fish, and the red Garra/pedicure fish) and the swing experience. Have a swimming google or a snorkeling set to enjoy the underwater view.
Also, you're not allowed to enter with food. Only water is allowed.
Not to mention that the road is very rough to reach there after turning from the highway A23.

It's a beautiful place and a must visit if you are near Moshi or Arusha. Easily one can spend half a day chilling in the crystal clear water and enjoy swimming or floating.
The only concern was there are no well defined guidelines for guide charges or entry fees.
Also I recommend taking your own swimming goggles as what they rent has no clarity.

A must visit if in Moshi or Arusha as a day trip. Non- swimmers can get floaters to float around. There is a place to get refreshments and snacks. You pay a small entrance fee.Clear turquoise waters, not exactly hot but not freezing. It’s about 15KM(of murram with some rough sections) from the tarmac so you need a raised vehicle to get there comfortably. Got there on a pretty low car but going back we got a puncture as it was pouring.

Diani Beach is a stylish coastal resort area with crystal clear water and an abundance of palm trees and palapas. It is a popular destination for tourists seeking exotic, relaxing white sandy beaches lined with trendy eateries. Although the sea weed in some areas can be excessive during certain periods, there are parts of the sea that remain unaffected. The beach boasts fine-grained sand and provides an enjoyable experience to walk on during early mornings and late afternoons when temperatures are more pleasant.
Very beautiful white beach with fine white sand. It can be a bit too hot during the day time but early morning and late afternoon it’s really enjoyable to walk in here. There are many hotels around for food and drink. Many small beach sellers for crafts and coconuts. Very beautiful place.

The place is perfect, soft, clean, white sand that rubs on your feet gently. You can take beach walks anytime, lay by the edge of the beach, or swim in the ocean. Absolutely safe, everybody's about their business except the hawkers doing business but they give you space when requested.

We walked along Diani beach in late October in the morning around 8:30am. It was really quiet and would have been the perfect time for a run. There were a few people and sellers about, but for the most part were were not disturbed. If people did approach us simply saying "no thank you" was sufficient. The beach itself is so beautiful and I was blown away by how incredibly clean it was. We walked past a number of resorts but it didn't seem like there were any public places where we could get something to eat. Maybe it's more common to do that for lunch/dinner. Or maybe October is more off season. It felt very quiet.

Visited before the sun got too hot and was pleasantly accompanied by a family of dolphins. It was great! Had a chance to swim in the middle of the ocean where the water had receded to reveal a beautiful stretch of white sand beach. The area is rocky though and I'd recommend rubber soled plastic shoes to protect your feet while in the water. You'll get to see beautiful colored fish and corals. Mpuguti Island also had huge coconut crabs! Carry a coconut to see them in action on it! Finally ended the tour with a sumptuous lunch at Mavungo. Sea food platter variety as well as my favorite drink of the day the Wasini special- delicious pineapple, lemon, orange and passion drink. Its definitely a site to visit.

Following dolphin viewing, you continue for an hour to the snorkeling area where you will see colour fish & Beautiful corals in the seabed and sea tortoises etc.(none swinners there is support swinners instructors)
Lunch is up next, in a 30mins sail to Wasini islands ;where the locals prepare pre-ordered Lunch. P.S always give in your orders with the tour instructions after boarding.
After lunch there is a simple tour of the Islamic Island Village, with only 1 pray school and no electricity. There they relay on solar for power. Simple warm welcoming community.
Finally back to the boat and back to Diani by 5-6pm.
Please note its a a full day your, enjoy 😉
This aquarium is doing a great job at rescuing turtles, help them heal and then release them back in the ocean. Also, on the tour inside they educate you a lot about the danger to the turtles in the wild and also to the ocean in general.

Great experience to swim with the turtles! It looks like turtles feel quite well in this big pool. Aquarium workers take care of them. Every year some of these turtles get freedom. Some turtles are rescued from the fisherman’s nets. Looks like these people are doing a great job!

I understand both the 1 and 5 Star ratings. Its a tricky situation. On the one side it is a tourist attraction, may be the natural pool (its connected to the ocean, therefore low/high tide dependent) is too small, but I can't judge as I have no knowledge. On the other side, someone needs to understand the whole situation (I got told by a local person from Kendwa). Hunting turtels is prohibited. But because it is, local fishermen still try to go for it, because it is good money that is being paid on the black market. To avoid those turtels being killed, the government is paying a similar price to those fishermen to avoid the killing. As those turtels get injured during the hunt, they put those in this kind of place. And how do you fund this place? Exactly, by tourists. At the end its a rat race. Honestly, I dont know if I should like it or not.

It was a relief to hear that the water sources was a natural water source and that the turtles are rescued and treated if injured; finally they are released into their natural habitat once well. The guide was well versed and shared so much knowledge about the turtles. Driving through the local community provided a stalk contrast between the "haves" and "have-nots" and the dire need need for the social welfare of the locals.
Palesa Mopeli — Google review
I do not recommend visiting this place. It is a tourist trap and made only to give tourists experiences on the expense of the turtles. I cannot see, how keeping turtles in small dirty pond and letting tourists swim with them and feed could be beneficial for the turtles.
I advice being a conscious tourist everywhere in Zanzibar. Unfortunately some of the local service providers are willing to do anything what tourists want and not care about the animals.

That’s such an unusual and unique experience! That was really cool and totally worth the visit.
We came quite early in the morning, there were not too many people and plenty of hungry turtles. They come close, they eat seaweed from your hands, they are huge and impressive!
Some people were just sitting on the stones near the water and were feeding and touching turtles. Others - and we among them - were swimming with the turtles, enjoying a lot.
Our 8 year old son spent more than an hour in the water, that was such a pleasure for him, that he didn’t want to leave, and I totally understand him. The place is a bliss.
The entry fee if I remember correctly is 10 usd per person.

The guide gave us a lot of food for the tortoise or are the turtles? The receptionist was also nice. Experience was nice. Did i swim? Maybe

Beautiful spot with rescued turtles from the sea. Fun to feed the turtles and you can go in the water with them.
Nungwi beach is a beautiful white sand beach located on the northern tip of Zanzibar island. It's a favorite spot amongst adventurers and backpackers, who enjoy sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling, and diving. The atmosphere has transitioned from a peaceful fishing village to an energetic shoreline lined with hotels, bars, hostels, and dive centers over the years.
September 2004. Probably the best place to relax after the Kilimanjaro Climb. I did it the other way round. Scuba diving, food, beach all perfect.

An amazing public beach with an even more amazing sunset! Many beach activities are available for the tourists who visit. It can get a bit crowded at times too.
Suggest more security guards to be present as it got a bit frustrating for the women tourists who visit. Some of the local teens were being a bit too intrusive and evading personal spaces clicking pictures without permission. Acts like these tarnish the reputation of a tourist spot and the country as a whole.
Overall a good spot to spend an afternoon.

Nungwi is the one of the best beaches of Zanzibar you should visit here once.
Beaches are very clean and good restaurants
You can enjoy local food here here.
Here you can find lots of tourists.
You can hire the boat for another island.
Also here are many resorts.
Many restaurants.

Zanzabar has the most beautiful beaches and waters I've ever seen. And this is just one of them. I came to do Dolphins watching and a little bit of swimming and Fed the fishes.

Don’t stay in the resorts, take walk along the coast to the local village , it’s pretty safe out there

Zanzibar has the most clearest beaches and this is one of them. Hawkers can become a bit of a nuisance trying to sell you something every 2 minutes on the beach, but overall lovely beach

You can get both sunrise and sunsets on this beach. The east side has a nice breeze and feels a lot more quieter than the west side which feels more commercialized. Lots of nice eating spots. Fun to walk around.

Nungwi Beach was enjoyable with fewer tourist and amazing views of the Indian Ocean. A diversity of restaurants and shops are along the beach. Would strongly suggest to wear water shoes. For a solo female traveler, I would suggest to be cautious. The locals are beautiful and peaceful ppl. Enjoy

My wife and I took a walk down from Kendwa to Nungwi beach yesterday, finishing our walk with a visit to the Mnarani Aquarium. The beach itself was beautiful, but I must say that a major down side to the day was the sheer amount of vendors that approached us and persistently attempted to sell things to us. It's one thing to greet a tourist, but what we experienced yesterday was a constant stream of uninvited and very clingy salesmen of dhow tours, bracelets and carvings. I understand that it's low season at the moment and perhaps these guys really are desperate for business, but it wasn't pleasant and we don't intend to return to the area. We prefer a quiet corner of the island where we can be left in peace to enjoy the place.

This is the best beach in Zanzibar, due to its white sand beach, clear crystal water, beautiful hotels, restaurants and resorts. Also this place is good for sunset and many water sports. I recommend when you visit Zanzibar never miss Nungwi beach, I prefer you won't regret yourself.

It is by far the best beach I have ever been. The colour of the water, calm and relaxing environment. Perfect for morning meditations.
There are also nice restaurants around and of course tours to do snorkeling, enjoying also the local food offered. Perfect spots to take memorable pictures too. 100% recommended.

2024.02// The N-E of Nungwi Beach has a pleasant and relaxing intimacy. It has a delightful local authenticity due to the presence of fishermen’s village.
Just before sunset the beach becomes a football field for locals, boys or teenagers all together spend the last hours of daylight playing football or bathing.
The beach is a sandy one; you can swim all day long even at low tide.
CAPATINA ROXANA — Google review
During the day it’s beautiful - but something seems odd. Then you see how this place is at night: Italians (they run the place) and locals fully on drugs, alcohol, fighting against each other and all have one aim: extort tourists from their lash money. Take care - full of scams and pushy people, thefts happen regularly (to me as well)

What a fascinating lovely little place for a beach vacation. The beach is lined with resorts and restaurants and absolutely becomes energetic once the night skies set in, I regretted not being able to be there for one of the full moon parties when nungwi becomes really lively. But the beaches are beautiful. There are sections of the beach which you may not be able to traverse through if there is a high tide. But the turquoise waters and the beautiful sunset and very affordable property prices make it a very attractive beach destination.
From the safety perspective, I was told to avoid loitering alone after sunset. So I did just that and was totally fine.

The beach with white sand and clear water is beautiful, you can imagine that you have reached one part of paradise. The sunset at nungwi beach is one of the best moment to enjoy.
The beach is always pack with people and the acces from the main road is terrible

In the north (ZaVa Nungwi restaurant and up north), there is a lot of activity with locals going about their daily business. Cows are on the beach, and there are many fishing boats in the water. Unfortunately, there is also a lot of garbage lying around, and the smell can be quite strong.
Further down in the south (around The Z Hotel), there are many restaurants, bars, and small shops to enjoy, but also many tourists, several beach boys, and Masaais, which can be overwhelming at times.
I highly recommend snorkeling in the area between The Sands Baobab and The Z Hotel. There are many colorful fish to observe. If you're lucky you can see moray eels, sea snakes or lionfish. Bring bathing shoes to protect your feet from the sea urchins and rocks.
One highlight is the sunset on this side!

I recently took part in a Quad Adventure excursion, and I must say it was an incredibly satisfying experience. Right from the start, the team was welcoming and professional. They provided clear instructions on operating the quads and assured us that our safety was their top priority.
The route itself was simply sensational. We traversed stunning landscapes, including beautiful forests, local villages, and breathtaking scenery. The diversity of terrains made the adventure even more exciting. The guides were knowledgeable and familiar with the area, providing interesting information about the sites we passed through.
The quads were in excellent condition and very easy to maneuver. I truly enjoyed the sense of freedom and adrenaline I felt throughout the excursion. The scheduled breaks allowed us to rest, take photos, and fully immerse ourselves in the environment.
In conclusion, I highly recommend the Quad Adventure excursion to all thrill-seekers and adventure enthusiasts. It was an unforgettable experience with a fantastic team and breathtaking landscapes. Don't miss out on this opportunity if you're in the area!

This tour was the highlight of our trip to Zanzibar! Adventurous, educational, fulfilling - our guide was great, introduced us with everyday life of locals in villages, their homes, ways of living and working. Spice tour was very interesting, guided by the local young woman, we smelled and tasted every plant and spice, enjoyed it very much. Ride with quad was exciting, we even did a part of it during the famous Zanzibar rain, the guide gave us the raincoats. All in all - would recommend it to everyone!

If you can define adventure you then got it right with Zanzibar Quad Adventure. If you have been struggling with activities to do when in Zanzibar apart from water sports please add Zanzibar Quad Adventure in your next adventure trip to Zanzibar. Time value for money was 👌👌. The trip lasted for about 4hrs. We had spice tour and visited a local village with very friendly people and kids who were full of joy. The guide, Bamba was very nice and good with all the road instructions that we were to observed. On our way back we were taken to a restaurant to eat the famous "cultural white pizza" for free 😂😂. I definitely recommend this activity.

Worst experience ever!
After traveling for half a day to do the quad tour, having received a booking confirmation a week before and paid everything already, they did not allow us to go, because they didn’t have their system in order and had double booked. So they rudely dismissed us and clearly didn’t care at all. I would recommend you go anywhere else where you’ll be met with respect and proper service. Really sad experience on a vacation day, now wasted.
Thanks to Garry and the staff for some great snorkling experience. We had a good time and our feedback was taken very seriously. Looking forward to further trips and dives

I will be careful to review this company and not the reef, as the reef was in better shape than many I have seen recently. Unfortunately, after 30 years of diving, I can honestly say this was the least organized dive company I and my family have gone with, and with the poorest equipment. I say this recognizing that we were on a different continent and in a different country, but the prices were the same as Dressel Divers and other companies I have been with in the Caribbean.
Firstly the equipment was poor and broken. My wet suit had a broken zipper and none of the depth gauges worked. We were 6 divers. Although they fit us for equipment and had us carry it to the boat, once on board they took it and assembled the gear without confirming whose gear was whose. It got worse on the second dive. The boat was overcrowded and not well organized. The dive briefing was not clear and lacked detail. Weight belts were provided but the crew disregarded our requests and overweighted all of us. As Advanced Divers we are well aware of our needs.
So while the reef was excellent we passed on further dives as the situation on board was too distressing to make the diving enjoyable.
We’ve been with many dive companies all over the world and this is the first time I’ve done a review suggesting people not go with this company.

I went with One Ocean because they seemed most reputable, but was thoroughly disappointed.
First, their facilities was really in poor shape - rental gear coming apart, tiny boat for 10+ divers, 10L tanks for deep dives.
I realize that this is Africa, but even compared to the other boats around it seemed inadequate.
Also the guide seemed unprofessional, kicking the corals and disturbing the wildlife, not noticing the group pace, and we ended up with really short dives, and mostly chasing him.
But what really upset me most was that after I was offered 120$ the day before, they said they price is 125$+5% credit card fee.
They called the guy who offered the price and he denied offering it, but we were 2 there, and the price was discussed and repeated, so I'm certain that it wasn't my mistake.
In 20 years of diving, I've never had such a bad experience with a dive shop, it's unbelievable that PADI considers this a 5-star dive center.
Shalev Manor — Google review
Firstly, this could have easily been a 5 star review as all the guides and one ocean staff were fantastic! However just a few things put a slight dampener on the experience. It is a long day and in total you only do around an hour of snorkelling. A lot of the day is spent travelling, however this is also good as you get to explore the island and the ocean. However the boat had a large group on it with both snorkelling and diving taking place and therefore a lot of time is spent waiting for the other groups to come back. This is not something we were told about at purchase of our trip as we had booked on a snorkelling trip.
We also had to transfer boats quite a lot. I appreciate this has to be done in order to get to shallower waters, however again we were not forewarned about this and it was quite embarrassing at times getting back into the boat from the water. Nevertheless the guides were great and made us feel at ease and did everything they could to help.
The snorkelling is fantastic, the island is beautiful and the staff were wonderful. I just hope that One Ocean take my points on board and perhaps undertake a sole snorkelling trip rather than what felt like ‘a diving trip with snorkelling tagged on’

My wife and I did four dives with the One Ocean team in January 2020. It's clear from the setup that safety is a priority, we felt comfortable throughout.
The dive guides were very knowledgeable and found a wealth of marine life including mantis shrimp, crocodile fish, leaf fish, octopi and nudibranchs. Visibility was great and on two occasions we came up to see a pod of dolphins passing by.
The team were all very friendly and positive, which made us want to go back again and again.

It was above dive center. Very competent dive masters showing us the beauty of Mnemba Island reef. The speedboat was also very convenient. Though we were three group of divers so we had to wait for quite some time to be picked up at the end of both dives.

What an experience!!
I came as a solo diver, I got assigned a great Polish buddy - another solo diver and a dive master Chatti (probably mis-spelled, my apologies).
A 20mins boat ride on a lovely wooden carved boat got us to a beautiful dive site called “Small Wall” where we got down to 33m and saw some colourful ocean life. Got back on the boat after 40mins and were served a delicious snack of local fruits and traditional snacks - all vegetarian, some vegan. (Im a vegan - was happily fed). Back to the water with new tanks, and experienced an excellent 50min dive at “The Aquarium” which gave us what it promised in the title. Hundreds and thousands of fish and corals covering the whole spectrum of colours and shapes. All equipment was safe to use and dive master was very acknowledged and great fun to dive with!
Can’t wait to go again!!
Thank you!

Cheetahs Rock is an accredited educational wildlife rescue and conservation center on Zanzibar with a focus on cheetahs. Visitors can interact with the animals in the open, either rescued or donated, and see dozens of rescued animals living in natural habitats. The team is devoted and helpful, taking pride in their work.
My advice for anyone who's traveling to zanzibar: leave cheetah's rock till the last day, because nothing will impress you after this wonderful visit!
We thought it was expensive at first... WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!
I've never imagined myself petting a cheetah or a tiger. The rush is amazing.
I've never liked the zoo and the concept of sad animals in cages, cheetah's rock is the complete opposite. The animals are happy, well taken care of and friendly.
The staff is adorable! You will have the time of your life.
Last but not least, when they offer you champagne... take it! It's a very smart move and you will definitely need it.

I really loved this hands-on experience that was all about the animals. I worried about the animals before I came, concerned about their interaction with tourists - but its very clear how much these animals are loved and cared for.
My husband asked what my favorite part of the experience was. That's a hard question to answer because they were all so special in their own way!
Feeding the young lions was really cool. Sitting with the bushbabies while they crawled around was fantastic. I couldn't wipe the smile from my face. The lemurs are so active and fun. And of course sitting with a cheetah 🐆 All of it was great!
I highly recommend supporting Cheetah's Rock with a visit while you are in Zanzibar.

A unique experience! You immediately notice how much passion the employees put into the rescued animals. And all the animals there are really incredible and sweet. Being able to pet a cheetah is generally a once in a lifetime experience. I can absolutely recommend it with a clear conscience, it is a must-see.

This is a nice place to see different exotic animals up close but if you are expecting a lot of interaction than you are at the wrong place!
Here they like to talk about the animal, it's sad story and the species struggles in the wilderness. So if you are an animal fanatic and really interested in facts than this is the place.
Furthermore this place is extremely commercial which is a big disappointment: the price is very high just to see animals an hear their long stories. Their tours are also made of about 40 people so when you finally get the chance to touch an animal you only have about one second.
I've visited a number of other animal rescues in Africa that were way better: less commercial, a lot more natural and with a lot more interaction.
I've gone home with mixed feelings after my visit and hope this review will help someone!
Alicia Ulbrich — Google review
It was amazing. Don’t go here expecting a zoo, but you can really get close to some animals you would otherwise never encounter (especially taking photos sitting next to a real cheetah, touching its fur in the process is very unique) and you learn a lot about the sad stories of some of the animals.
The entire team is really nice, they really care about the animals and the whole project is funded through visitors‘ fees. The tour is absolutely worth the price tag, the animals are cared for in a really nice manner and the aim to rescue animals and give them a place to live a good life (and perhaps be released when they are ready) is really worthy of support.
If you want to experience wildlife and help animals in need, this is the place to go - you’ll leave with a lot of new experiences and a feeling of having done something completely new.
Christopher Krogull — Google review
On various forums you will find a lot of different discussions about this place. It is not my job to convince you of either side of the argument. For me, visiting this place was an amazing lifelong experience. It is worth being in a place where, in my opinion, animals are cared for with a big heart and their stories are told with passion. It doesn't matter if you go on safari to the mainland afterwards because it's a different experience. We were picked up by a car from Paje and driven to Cheetah's Rock. We took one person along the way. On the spot, we sign a statement that we will not blame the resort for any damage to health blown up by animals. Sounds serious but the crew cares about our safety very much and they have a lot of experience. During your stay at the resort, the staff makes sure that we take a picture with the animal ... we don't have to worry about it. During the four-hour stay, we will get to know the stories of our heroes, we will be able to touch most of them or feed and meet the amazing founder and her crew. The cost of the Great Wildlife Tour is USD 160. You can say it's a lot but remember that you are helping to keep these animals and besides, the safari costs several times more and you will never be as close to wild animals as in Cheetah's Rock.

This is a must see in Zanzibar - from a attraction point of view and as well from an animal preservation perspective.
This is not like an ordinary zoo, it is far from that and much more a real sanctuary where the needs of the animals are known and well taken care of.
The great wildlife tour takes about 4 hours which gone by in the blink of an eye as the staff was presenting the animals in their habitats with passion and dropped some funny stories about them. Very entertaining.
You could also see how important the animals are to everyone there including the owner who also shared some history of cheetahs rock.
You will be able to interact with most of the animals (Cheetahs, Zebra, Tiger, Monkeys etc).
Make sure to support this great cause by visiting one of their tours.

Visiting Cheetah's rock was really a unique experience. The animals are well taken care of and their individual rescue stories are touching. It was a pleasure to get to meet them - I've always wanted to come close to lemur and here there were many of them eating bananas from my hands! The white lions, bushbabies, hyenas, etc were equally cool, of course.
Sara Kalisnik — Google review
There may probably be some similar places to this but no counting on whether I'll ever be able to know where or when I'll get to experience it. Sitting next to a Cheetah, feeding wild animals. This really closes the chapter of me visiting a zoo for the rest of my life. This is more than just a zoo, is a wildlife conservation center. Of course a fully grown lion, tiger and hyena were still way too dangerous for a cageless interaction, but I can't believe I still fed food to those amazing creatures. The efforts taken by the caretakers are second to none. It's pricey and you also can argue that wild animals are best kept in the wild or their natural habitat. But all animals kept there are happy to be there because they had a tough time growing in the wild and rescued from hunters who killed their families and poached their hides for sale in the black market. The cheetahs were absolutely their own selves with their killer instincts and still had exceptional camaraderie with the caretakers in understanding that the visitors are here for the experience. Unbelievable.

This is definitely something to put on your to-do list for Zanzibar. It's not as much of a tourist trap as many of the other tours on the island. It's basically a petting zoo for adults but the over arching mission is a sanctuary for rescues. They sell admission to adults to experience several animals up close... And the fees they collect then offset the cost of running the sanctuary.
I know there's a lot of reviews that are critical of them for having this commercial arm... But I think it's actually a very good way for them to fund their operation. The staff is well educated and seems genuinely concerned for the well-being of the animals they take in.

The Chapwani Private Island Resort is an inviting oasis in the heart of Zanzibar Town. With its colonial architecture and white sand beach, it provides the perfect escape from the bustling city life. The resort features a restaurant and bar as well as an outdoor pool, making it a popular spot to relax after a day of exploring the island.
We stayed there 6 days and had a wonderful time! The island is a true paradise! The bungalows are just a few metres from the ocean, incredible feeling of waking up to these views. The staff is very polite, they care about the customer. Food was great, fresh fish every day, fresh fruits, everything so tasty. There is a big swimming pool and sunbeds with comfortable mattresses. Best resort of our whole trip and on both sides of the island. This place is absolutely stunning, remarkably private, and the food is delicious. Wind comes hard from the east, but the westward side of the island is still, depending on how you like your weather. Swimming is great - very easy and calm on the west, more choppy on the east (never quite made it out to the snorkel reef due to children's fear of moon jellies, of which we happened to have many - but they are not dangerous, it would have been ok). Best shell collecting beach I have ever seen. Villas are very pretty and clean, with foot baths to keep sand outside. Each one has a subset view over a long, calm part of the bay. The salt water pool is wonderful and leaves you without that chemical feeling. Staff are very helpful and make sure that you are accommodated (including dinners on the beach) - also the only place in the country where we saw consistent mask use. The wildlife is great too - jellies and sea stars, a huge variety of hermit crabs, and even tiny deer at night. Two nights was not enough - but even despite how small the island was, we had no desire to head back to town for anything.
100% staying again if we ever get the chance.

A great place to stay, especially if you are a scuba diver! A 2 minute walk from One Ocean Dive shop, and the Freddie Mercury Museum! The staff is too notch, my room was cleaned immaculately every day. All amenities such as AC, fridge,TV, and WiFi worked perfectly during my stay. And wonderful hot water showers. I will definitely be staying here again.

It's located within the centre of Stone Town. Very close to the street food yard. Fitted with working ACs and good customer service. The rooms are a bit old but well maintained. The rooms have safe boxes. Their furniture has that old indian curving, as seen in the picture.

Superb location with ancient decorated rooms, and waiting area catched our eyes. Nice service, staff were amazing and friendly.
Just a request to add India's flag in your reception desk.
Thank you 😊

Very rustic and simple rooms. No protection of mattress that I found limit in terms of Hygien. Breakfast very simple with basics. Fair for 1 night stay

Nice hotel next to old fortress and Forodhani park with clean rooms and small but cute swimming pool on top. Breakfast si very nice , better choice for many hotels in Stone town. Bathroom is little bit old

Location very good, right across the fort, close to everything. Fantastic rooms, small rooftop pool with great views

Rooms are ok & location is good as it’s in stone town. Service is extremely poor. One staff takes booking & other tells that they are fully booked. Don’t trust them with bookings. Highly unprofessional. It’s just like over bookings done & then customer is harassed.

If you are planning to spend the night in a dirty flophouse with a broken air conditioning and a room temperature of almost 40 degrees Celsius and cannot sleep in bed because of the heat and want to pay $100 for it, then you are welcome to book a room here! Have fun!

A great hotel in stone town with amazing staff. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable and I can't thank them enough for the experience.
We had a huge comfortable room with air conditioning and also thoroughly enjoyed dinner and breakfast from the restaurant!
We had a great experience here and would definitely recommend them to anybody looking for a place to stay in stone town - it's a pity we were only there for one night!

perfect location, its near to the ferry, beach and Stonetown. Good service, good breakfast and friendly staff.

Its an average hotel with great staff. Breakfast was average, not much lavish. The apartments are at a walking distance from the main hotel whereby cars cant pass through. So thats a small problem especially for someone with a child. There can be improvement on adding shampoo /toothpastes in the bathrooms as guests may tend to forget theirs. Rooms are decent too.

Forodhani hotel deserves 5 stars. Foods are delicious, best location in the city. If you want any activity in sea or inside city this is best option. Rooms are perfect for family or friends.

Foredhani was our last and very quick stay during our holiday in Zanzibar. It is centrally located not far from the night food market and opposite the old fort. We were given a great room right next to the swimming pool which was amazing as that is why we booked this place. The swimming pool is rather small but clean and nice opportunity to cool down. The reception staff are great and even arranged for us to have an early breakfast, provided free bottles of water and were helpful.

I was spending 3 nights with me elder son.. nice and big room. Clean and the location was great. We love the pool on the roof and the wooden furniture.. good price...
But the breakfast was a bit poor
The Jozani Forest is a sprawling national park in Zanzibar that is home to dense woods, abundant wildlife, and well-marked nature trails. The forest is the only place on the continent where you can see the native Red Colobus monkeys.
Excellent experience. The guide was amazing. Walking through the forest while it was raining is parallel to none. Watching the black and red monkeys in groups, families is like watching NatGeo but live! The mangrove location was amazing. All in all it's worth every penny.

Jozani Forest is definitely worth a visit. Our guide was very diligent in helping us find lots of monkeys to observe. They came very close and we even saw many babies. Wear good shoes for walking through thick brush.

Nice trip and fun to see all the monkeys up close and learn about the trees and natural medicin. Our guide (included in the price of aprox 11 usd pp) seemed a bit tired but expect to give tips in the end of the tour no matter what :-)

Section in 3 parts if taking 1 hour tour.
First - see red zanzibar monkey (they are very used to tourists).
Second - walk through forest
Third - 1.2km drive to see mangroves.
Price - USD$12 for 1 hour tour .
Enthusiastic guide however what you actually see during the tour is not really worth it.

An amazing insight into the only surviving forest in Zanzibar. Protection from Tsunami and even climate change. Once under a coral ocean it is now strong mahogany trees and mangroves . Find the monkeys that are only found in this forest. Guides are well informed.

Lush green forest and all the red Colubus you could hope! It was a bit crowded so be prepared to be in a larger group, but it was still worth it. We loved our guide and all he said about life. He was so knowledgeable on medicinal herbs which was cool as a doctor. The mangroves were amazing too and a wonder to behold

Most tours that you can book at Jozani Forest via the hotel and travel desks in the city visit two sites. At the one you can walk through the forest and see some monkeys at some locations. In general the forest is very clean and you won't see many other animals. We noticed that there were so many tourists walking around with their guides that any animal would actually run away. Additionally we were only walking very close to the road and not that far into the forest, which was disappointing.
Next we drove to the mangrove part of the forest. Nice walk but again so many tourists and hardly any animals.
As another minus: the toilets at the 2nd spot were quite something. Only two toilets/holes in the ground for so many tourists.

Beautiful forest, saw lots of red monkeys. Guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Totally worth it

Beautiful experience because we went at the right time (08:40) we had a private tour because there were only people there, we saw animals and plants our guide Amur was very informative and patient, the money from the entrance ticket is used for the maintenance of the forest and for protection. The duration of the tour varies, it can be up to two or three hours for those who have a lot of questions and want to know everything.

Nice thing to do when you are in Zanzibar.
You don't need a tour operator for this one. Just drive up there (or get dropped off) and pay the entrance fee (24 dollar for 2 persons). You get a pricate guide as well.
You do 3 things:
- go to see the monkeys, which was adorable!we saw a lot of them
- walk through the forest
- walk through the mangrove
The tour lasted about 1H

Oh boy, was I pleasantly surprised. If you decide to visit the Jozani forest, make sure you tip your guide at the end of your tour (they are volunteers and do the tours for free, what you pay for the trip is not reflected in their paycheck). I highly recommend that you visit the forest during the morning hours, there is way less people and you might actually feel as if you had a private tour.

the Jozani Forest National Park in Zanzibar is an incredible experience that left me in awe of the natural beauty and biodiversity of this unique ecosystem.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and provided us with a lot of interesting information about the different species of mangroves that grow in the area, as well as the various animals that call the mangroves home. We saw a variety of crabs, and even some monkeys swinging through the trees above us.
The walk itself was quite easy and took us along a boardwalk that wound its way through the dense mangrove forest. The trees were tall and majestic, with their roots stretching down into the water below, creating a labyrinth of tunnels.
One of the highlights of the walk was spotting the rare red colobus monkeys that are endemic to the area. Our guide was able to point out several of them to us, and we were able to watch them foraging for food in the trees.
Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to the Jozani Forest National Park Mangrove Walk to anyone who loves nature and wants to experience the unique beauty of a mangrove ecosystem. It's an unforgettable experience that will leave you with a newfound appreciation for the incredible biodiversity of our planet.

This place seems overrated. You have a short walk through 3 forests. They look nice, but guides walk so fast (eventhough we had a lady with baby and one person with healing broken leg).
We had one stop for monkeys but it was on crowded Road, so not comfortable for photos and monkey observation

The place is beautiful, it’s a real forest with lots of greenery and narrow pathways among the trees.
There are several options of the length of the tour available. We had a short tour which lasted around an hour. There was a group and a guide, who took us around and explained the things.
First we walked through the forest, and saw centipedes or milepeds and some of the palm crabs.
After that we approached a big tree where the monkeys were resting. They didn’t express any interest to us whatsoever, they were just chilling and living their monkey lives, people were watching, taking photos.
After monkey encounter we walked through the mangrove forest, and that was very beautiful and unusual.
As for me, I would like the tour to last longer, as sometimes I had a feeling that the guide is rushing us, just to bring us to the finish faster.
Other than that - no complaints, the place is beautiful and definitely worth the visit.

We walked through the forest with a guide in a small group and got lots of information about the trees and other aspects of nature, like little critters.
After the first part of forest, we crossed a street and went to the monkey forest. Be careful of vervet monkeys, they try to steal things from your pockets. The red colobus monkeys are more relaxed and can be observed up close, but please keep a distance of at least 2 meters!
The forest feels like another tourist destination where many visitors are quickly moved through without much time to appreciate its beauty. Before the tour, we informed our guide that we want to skip the mangrove tour and therefore go through the forest slowly and peacefully, without any pressure.

My god, what a fantastic place. Just myself and 2 other people with a brilliant tour guide.
As a monkey fanatic, naturally I absolutely loved it; getting to see the monkeys in their natural habitat, as well as so up close and personal was such a dream of mine.
Monkeys seem to be very relaxed around humans too. The mangrove tree forest afterwards was also so unique, and your guides takes some photographs for you.
Just such an unplanned yet magical day - one of my highlights of Zanzibar.

We walked a bit to see the local 'columbus monkeys' and after a long wait we saw many of them. Young, baby and old. It is very important to protect these endangered animals
I definitely recommend a visit! Seeing the mangroves is also part of the visit. aYou can go to another region by vehicle and it is very beautiful. A total of 2 hours of activity that does not take much time

Great experience. The best way is to get there by yourself and pay the entry in shillings. You will get a tour guide and then you will go to explore. That was my first time ever experience to see monkeys in the nature. Also at the end of the tour, you need to tip the tour guide.

So happy to see a nature reserve! Always a positive sign of a community realizing the importance of nature and all its inhabitants.
We had a great guide with us , BabuShebi. Loud, proud and a funny guide for sure. Very informative about the local Flora, fauna as well as all the local medicinal and non medicinal uses.
Great to walk through the dense forests, and we got to walk through in pouring rain, which was certainly a highlight of mine; and to my surprise , my partners also.
We walked quite a bit to see the local ‘poison monkeys’ and after quite a wait, we got to see so many of them. Young, juvenile and old.
Definitely recommend the visit! We missed out on the mangroves, but I hear that’s part of the visit as well.
Have shared some photos and videos of our walk through.

Worth visiting but try to be there early to see all the animals.
We got there at around 5pm and were able to see the monkeys and mangrove only.

Took a long cab ride out here. You NEED a vehicle in order to view this area as a tourist. You pay for a guide. Our cab driver would communicate with the guide where to go for each section of the tour: "monkeys", mangrove, "forest". We came off a ship so it was packed with busses, taxis and people. After the first stop, where we did see some blue and reds, most of the people sharing our guide departed. The most impressive stop was the "forest" were we walked maybe a half km and were surrounded by red colobus. You are able to get very close to these chilled out primates. Very memorable
