Best Park in Tepic! Great for Family Picnics, activities, or just want to gat away and get lost in nature. All kinds of things to do. From the train to the jogging track that goes all around the park, or creative sculpture painting with the family or by yourself. It's fun for everyone and safe.

This long promenade has a dedicated bike/skateboard lane and ample space for walking, making it an ideal spot for outdoor activities like biking, running or rollerblading. The beaches are great. Hanging out at one of the restaurants on the beach is a great way to spend the afternoon. You get an umbrella, table, chairs, good food and cold beer.

Absolutely beautiful and lovely!!! Very clean and the views are amazing!! Make sure to walk at the ocean side just before sunset! The sunset will amuse you! The weather in March is the best. Friendly people!!

This is a very LONG malecon-- probably at least five miles long. The longest I've seen in Mexico. They've done a good job of building a nice road between the beach and the businesses. The malecon has a bike/skateboard lane, and plenty of room to walk. The only thing it doesn't have is sufficient parking.

Beautiful walk along the beaches of Mazatlan lots to see people are friendly 😀

It's a beautiful place to walk, run, bike, or roller blade next to the beach! It's very safe day time or night time. Lots to do!
P C — Google review
The area is nice but so many of the business are shut down due to poor management or other issues. If you like banda then this place is great, unfortunately they don’t offer a lot of variety. The water is guarded by rocks, so the swimming is limited. The activities are limited and the costs are tripled that of Cancun. I suggest spending time elsewhere.

It's about 6 miles long in total. Great place to walk, take in sites, restaurants, shopping. Fun place to chill with a 6 pack, take pics or go for jog. You can walk it or grab a taxi. Goodtimes.
Manny A — Google review
Not anywhere near 13 miles. I can run it in an hour and I'm not that fast. If you count walking on the curvy tight rounds to El Faro or through the tourist district (not on the ocean). You could get close to 13 miles. But the nice walking area next o the ocean is less than 5 miles. It's still a great walk or bike ride.
denise z — Google review
The area is nice and very walkable. Taxi rides are also fairly cheap, just make sure that you set the price before getting in. I would recommend knowing at least some basic Spanish, but I am sure that you can also get through with an app like Google Translate. There are a lot of vendors so if you're looking for some items at a fairly cheap price, you'll be in heaven.

Plaza Machado is a charming open space flanked by elegant 19th-century edifices, adorned with lush palm trees and colorful flower beds. By day, it exudes a tranquil ambiance, but at night it transforms into a bustling market with numerous terrace eateries that offer live music performances. The square is an idyllic tourist destination known for its romantic vibe where couples can walk hand-in-hand and enjoy the warm atmosphere of outdoor cafes.
The Catedral Basílica de la Inmaculada Concepción is a magnificent Catholic church located in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico. The church is well-maintained and offers a peaceful atmosphere despite being frequented by tourists taking pictures. Security is present but the overall vibe is relaxed. Mass times are available on Sundays with hourly services during mid-day hours. The cathedral's location on the shores of the Pacific provides a beautiful backdrop for worship and photography opportunities.
I really wish I had more time to explore Mazatlan. I was on a seven-day cruise and I feel like I only scratched the surface. One highlight, though, was visiting the Catedral Basílica de la Inmaculada Concepción. It was truly beautiful and a must-see for anyone traveling to the are

This church is amazing. It is definitely worth a stop by to check out the amazing architecture or go and talk with God. We went on a Saturday and there was a wedding going on. We could only sneak in for a few quick photos. I wish we could have seen more of the church. I suggest going to view during a mass.
Jason Lang — Google review
Beautiful well maintained church. Despite all the tourists coming in to take pictures (like me), there's a peaceful calmness one can soak in if one stops and sits down for a moment and quiets one's mind. There were lots of security ladies gathered across the street. Vibe seemed very relax. A 15 minute walk from the cruise line port. Nice walk if you're not in a rush and in fair shape.

I visited the Catedral Basílica de la Inmaculada Concepción on my trip to Mazatlan. I was amazed by its beauty and its details. I learned a lot about its history and its significance for Mazatlan’s people. I also had a great time walking around the plaza and checking out the nearby attractions. I gave it a 5-star rating and would definitely go back again.

It was beautiful cathedral on the shores of the Pacific. It took me a few tries to be able to access the church to take my pics. On Sundays, it had Mass over the noon hour.

Catedral Basílica de la Inmaculada Concepción is a beautiful place to visit, whether you are Catholic or not. I feel very peaceful when I’m there. The church looks great from far away and gorgeous when I walk closer in. The interior is so beautiful and solemn. Try to come early on the weekday or in the afternoon on Sunday.

The Catedral Bailica de la Inmaculada Conception is a beautiful active Catholic Church. Please be respectful and take off your hats, lower your voice and be respectful with people that come to pray. Know that not everyone is a tourist. The architecture is beautiful and you can see that the church has been rebuild by looking at the walls outside but the inside looks original. Come stop by, leave a donation so the church can continue to be restored and open.
James Klein — Google review
Beautiful cathedral —Spanish Mass offered daily, plan ahead for seasonal schedule. This is a traditional Catholic Church, those celebrating Eucharist take by mouth and not by hand (common in US). No missalette available, so I used my mobile app, Laudate, which offers English and Spanish translation of the daily reading. Centrally located across from the main city plaza, an easy ride from cruise terminals. I can recommend using DiDi for ride (like an Uber/Lyft) and each way was MX peso $35 or today’s conversion rate of about $2.04 each way—MUCH less expensive than the set terminal taxi stand, which was $9/USD each way. I also stopped in a frozen fruit/ice cream shop for a quick watermelon refreshment—many other fruit flavors are offered for about $1.50 per bar. The plaza was festive and very much ALIVE with tourists and locals during this holiday season. Local police are present to help with traffic flow and general safety.

Wow! The design and architecture of this building is beautiful. Photos don't do it justice. It is a must see while in mazatlan

Beautiful building, inside and out. A mix of tourists taking pictures and people praying quietly. A nice stop for photos and a quick prayer, if you're into either of those things.
Mazatlan Aquarium is a well-stocked facility featuring an impressive fish tank and live shows with marine animals, including sea lions and sharks. The restroom facilities are notably clean. However, some visitors may find it challenging that all information is provided in Spanish only. Despite this, a visit offers a wonderful opportunity to learn about these magnificent creatures and have an enjoyable experience for both adults and children alike.
Had a fun time here, the penguins were a treat. The shows were fun and I would think informative if I could understand Spanish. They did make us non locals feel welcome. Well worth a visit. Good for a few hours entertainment. Will go again when I come back to Mazatlan.
Wade Rutherford — Google review
This is a pretty good Aquarium and Zoo facility. It is pretty well-stocked with marine and land animals. In general, it is pretty clean-- especially where it counts-- the restrooms. The live shows were not great, but pretty good. The only thing I, being American, didn't like, is that everything is in Spanish-- which is not my first language. But all in all, it was a pretty good experience. :-)
Manuel ?Manny? — Google review
Not what I thought. They mention as the largest aquarium in Mexico but no shark tank or penguins yet, but they still charge full tickets. Only one show. Sorry, but was not impressed.
Frank Thiel — Google review
Very nice park and aquarium, featuring sea creatures and reptiles local to the area. The bird and seal shows were fun. There was also a penguin exhibit. Good for the whole family. Many exhibits have accompanying descriptions in English.
Clayton Haapala — Google review
Wish this wasn’t so gimmicky. Asked three separate times for time share presentations! It’s the aquarium not a mall. They had one or two species that I hadn’t seen before. Wish the tanks were a bit cleaner. I could also do without all the extra birds and reptiles.

Acuario Mar de Cortez in Mazatlan is complete. It's one of the largest aquariums in Latin America. The architecture is very modern and has beautiful gardens and wall fountains.
It has 700 fish species, an aviary, crocodiles, and some mammals that we didn’t see because they are finishing their habitat. The fish tanks are huge and well kept. They have an educational and interactive area for kids and adults.
The price is accessible and if you are in Mazatlan, it is worth visiting this important place. After all, it is the biggest aquarium in Latino America.
Claudia Pardo — Google review
Spent about 3 1/2 hours there. Very impressive if you like aquarium. Had pictures taken with a sealion, very fun. Wasn't crowded until the afternoon when a local school had a field trip. Several live shows to watch, and a few interactive exhibits. You can feed a stingray. Extras do cost money.

This was so fun! We were cruising and did the hop on hop off tour which took us to the aquarium. The best parts were the fresh fruit carts and the sea lion show. So cute. Even without being able to speak or understand any Spanish, the show was easy to follow and the sea lions were amazing!
Erin Combs — Google review
380 pesos too expensive. On a Saturday it was quite crowded inside probably would be better on a weekday. The exhibits were pretty good and it had a nice food court area with lots of space and seating

This is a great aquarium and a must go place when in Mazatlan. Definitely worth the price of admission. It's very interactive and the staff is quite knowledgeable. There are a couple of souvenir stores and a few restaurants. The aquarium is beautiful. Well worth it, the family had a great time.
James Waurynchuk — Google review
Glad we went on a Saturday after the New Year. Got there around 2:30pm and surprised to see there were no lines. The grand aquarium, bird show and aviary were free to enter, but you have to get a separate ticket for the seal show. Most instructions were in spanish, so we used Google Translate or asked the guides to speak in English (if possible). Great place to visit with kids. It was worth the trip for us.
RM Field — Google review
This place is awe inspiring. Worth every pesos, and every moment to get to. It looks like a big, modern concrete building but once inside it is like walking on the ocean floor and experiencing it without diving gear! My son (5) and I were equally impressed with the interactive experiences. The shows were great (a bit short and all in Spanish) - we laughed at the sea lions and had a lot of fun. I have traveled a lot and this place is truly amazing.
Erin Rayner — Google review
Loved the way the building naturally flows and interacts with the huge acrylic tanks. Loved seeing the divers swim and interact with marine life, you are allowed to touch starfish and also feed the stingrays. The sea lyon show was amazing.
Jorge Marston — Google review
The aquarium is well designed and boasts some impressive spaces for viewing the various creatures. The building is amazing, but it was a bit crowded and loud in the smaller rooms and around the interactive areas. The penguins and sea lion displays were particularly delightful.
William Lakey — Google review
I came here last week and before that about 4 years ago.

The Queen Mine Tour is an affordable and enjoyable way to learn about the history of mining and disasters. The century-old underground complex provides a unique experience, with visitors riding on a train through the mountain. While close proximity to strangers is unavoidable during the hour-long tour, it's recommended to wear N95 masks for protection. The guide, who was formerly a miner at the mill, provided entertaining stories in a clean and family-friendly manner.
The tour was so fun! Nice and cool underground! We didn't realize it would be on a train with hard hats and flashlights...so awesome! Our guide was knowledgeable, personable and excellent in all ways.
The only downside was waiting for the tour to start... it got pretty warm, crowded & a bit chaotic. Some airflow or fans would have made it perfect!
Would definitely do this again & recommend to anyone who likes history & doing fun things!!

Loved loved loved this tour of a once working mine from the 1800's to 1970's. Our tour guide was wonderful, I learned so much about the mining in the area, how they worked and about the mine itself. Your completely immersed in the tour by wearing a hard hat, you get a light and ride a train 1500 feet into the mine, you will stop a few times along the way to learn about the mine. I guess the tour took about an hour from start to finish. Make reservations ahead of time, they book up fast on the weekends. HAVE FUN!

Amazing place filled with history, stones and a ride on a trolley! The guide was informative and made sure we were all safe. Well worth it if you are staying in Bisbee or even just passing through. It is recommended to purchase tickets in advance because it does fill up quickly.

This is our second trip to the mine. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I always purchase a geode to crack open and they all are going to be quartz but is so much fun and getting to take home the experience and beauty of a geode. We had already experienced the tour of the mine I would recommend it!!

Very fun, worth the low cost entry fee.
The tour was into the mountain on a train you straddle. Be prepared to be in very close proximity to strangers for about an hour. We wore N95 masks but it seemed optional and only one other couple had theirs.
If you can get over that the tour was awesome. The guide was a miner at that mill so it was like stories from grandpa. He kept it clean and g rated, but entertaining. We will never forget our trip and will recommend to others. Just protect yourself and mask up.
It's owned by the city and entry was 14 pp. Totally worth that.

What a great tour! One of the best I’ve been on. Our guide was a former miner and told the group so many exciting details of what happened during the mining decades and how the minerals were mined. He was funny and very entertaining. The rail car was fun and took us deep into the mine. If you’ve never been in a mine please consider this fun way to discover how mines worked and the process of mining. Being in an actual old mine was thrilling!
Rebecca Seaton — Google review
An hour tour of a copper mine. Part of the fun was riding the little train into the mine tunnel. The guide tells all about the history of the mine. There is a rather large flight of stairs up to one of the areas but one may remain on the train instead. Be advised toddlers may think it a little scary or boring. Also it is quite cooler temperature in the mine than outside. I found it refreshing. I had a great time and thought it well worth 14 dollar admission. There is a nice gift shop with lots of mineral samples and mine tour related displays.

Great experience and well worth the drive! Did a great job of detailing the history of mining both generally as well as specifically in the region and in the mine itself. Our 6 year old son and 78 year old dad both loved it so it's great for many age ranges. Great to visit year round as the temperature underground is chilly but not uncomfortable.

This tour is a walk back in time. We were lucky to have a tour guide that actually worked in the mine. I don’t remember his real name but he said if we didn’t like him his name was John. Haha. He was great. Very informative and very well done. I learned a lot and can appreciate the hard work that miners endured working in the dark with candles. The train ride was a fun and creative means of transportation. The gift shop is also very well done. We highly recommend this tour.

What a wonderful way to see a part of history generations later. I've done this tour a couple of times throughout my years but wanted to share this experience with my son, so here was trip #3 and even though I've been before, I continued to learn so much more. Our tour guide was absolutely a treat, he had so many more details, facts and yet kept it interesting and funny with some really cute jokes. I believe he stated that he once was a miner himself. My 8 year old loves collecting rocks and this just blew him away as well as the extensive amount of rocks, crystals, minerals that are available at the gift shop. You get to wear a vest, a hard hat and a miners light while riding in on a little train like vehicle which is for safety but also really fun for kids to dress up and ride on.

This tour was super amazing! I loved every part, from the ride in to all the stories and history. Our tour guide was so sweet and funny and so knowledgeable. He made the whole experience wonderful and would absolutely recommend to others!

Really fun tour and very educational. We got lucky and booked the last tour of the day a few hours beforehand and then it sold out. I’d recommend getting tickets in advance, but you could try your luck like we did. They give you an option to get off the ride as soon as you enter the mine in case anyone decides they don’t want to go inside. The guides all seemed very knowledgeable. Josh was our guide and he made the whole experience really fun with a lot of laughs. It was cute to see that kids were given the opportunity to participate and ask questions. Definitely planning on going back in the future!

Been to 2 of the cave tours in the area, and this tour was by far the best tour! Our guide was amazing and actually worked in the mines when he was younger, so had first-hand knowledge and stories to share. You get a light, reflective vest, hard hat and miner tag. The mine train was fun to ride and the tour went at a great pace. I only wish the tour was longer cause I know our guide had even more interesting stories and information that he could have shared. Highly recommend!

We were passing through and a friend suggested we take this tour so we decided to.
You can pay at the desk for the next available tour, but we opted to book online to see what available times were for the day. Very easy to book.
You must show up 30 minutes prior to the tour time to check in. They will give you a safety vest, hard hat and miners lamp to use while you are in the mine. Then you proceed to the train where you get on and straddle a seat for the ride.
The tour takes you about 1800 feet into the mine with two stops along the way. The first stop has about 36 stairs into a big room and the second stop is flat. Learning about the history of Queen's Mine was fascinating and well worth every penny spent. Our tour guide was very personable and knowledgeable. He really made the tour that much more enjoyable.
Overall, we would highly recommend taking this tour. There is a gift shop as well as a small museum in the back for you to enjoy. Public restrooms are on site. Well worth the trip to go see!

Really enjoyed this mine tour and recommend anyone doing it while in the area. Our guide was terrific with lots of knowledge and local stories. Riding the rail into the mine was fun. There are stairs to climb within the mine so be aware of that. Take your jacket with you, it's cool in there. The tour was about an hour long. Make sure this is added to your Bisbee itinerary.

this place is awesome! i have grown up visiting commercial and wild caves but have never visited a mine before! the tour was so fun and riding the mine cart through the mine was so exciting! the tour guide was incredible, he told us so many cool things about the mine and his time as a miner there! i visited solo, but will definitely be back in the future with my family! i thought this was such an interesting piece of history, to be able to see it in this way!

1st time ever to Bisbee & the Queen Mine Tour. This tour, the mine & the history is absolutely intriguing & worth the trip. It's nice & cool in the mine which in summer would feel that much better.
You go 1500 feet below the mountain & it's so cool to see & experience a real mine. Our tour guide was Steve who worked in the mines himself back in his days. If you're lucky to get him your visit & experience will be that much better. Steve thank you for making mine & my family's tour the most memorable ever!
Highly recommend a tour, the history, sights, laughs & smells are definitely worth it. I also recommend to get your tickets/reservations advance.

We took the tour on a Thursday morning. All tours for the day were sold out so I’d recommend purchasing at least a day in advance.
Tour was a lot of fun and very informative. Tour guide was a former mine worker and made it very enjoyable. I’d recommend this tour to everyone.

Walk back in time and ride the man-skip 1500 ft. down into the Mines. 1 hour tour and a great experience. Awesome trip, highly recommend and purchase tickets beforehand, in person, online or on the phone. 50,000 people per year visit this place. Great for kids, leave animals at home or in your RV.
Illegal to leave your pets in the car in AZ. People will break your windows for your pets that are left.

Absolutely stunning experience! Would go back for a second tour. The interaction (mine rail ride with hard hats and lights, light walk and climb, make this a memorable visit). Our guide was knowledgeable. I'd recommend going to the $10 museum in town for an hour before the mine ride/visit time. Make sure to show 15 or 30 minutes before departure time.

The mine ride is cool. I was hoping for a deeper ride, but it was. The train ride is fun, and the history is amazing. The work involved and the tools all by candle. Ask for the oldest tour guide. He is old and worked there out of high school, and his experience give is quite a life.

Really interesting tour and I felt safe. You do go in the mine by rail car 1500 ft so they stop the car at 150 ft. To see if anyone wants to turn back, after that point it's no turning back. This is a great tour underground into the world of old time mining. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and fun and it was all about safety first! This is one of the best tours of a mine I've ever been on. Go for it you will be glad you did.
The notable Bisbee Mining & Historical Museum offers visitors a chance to explore underground mine tours, history exhibits, and a crystal cave. The museum presents accurate information about the town's mining history with well-kept facilities and preserved mining equipment on display. Large print exhibits and thoughtful displays provide an immersive learning experience. Visitors can also browse the gift shop for unique mementos and gifts related to the area's rich mining history.
I have been through the museum twice and two separate occasions, and I plan to go again. From what I can tell, the information presented is accurate. The facilities are well kept. They do a great job preserving the mining equipment on the museum grounds. The exhibits are well done with large print, and thoughtful displays. The gift shop has some nice unique mementos and gifts.

This is a great museum with a lot of history about the mining town of Bisbee. There are a lot of artifacts and specimens of minerals on display. They have beautiful samples of copper, malachite and azurite on display. They have a nice gift shop too. We enjoyed our visit there and we made a purchase in the gift shop too.

Beautiful exhibits detailing a lot of the history of Bisbee. Gorgeous mineral exhibits. Knowledgeable and entertaining staff. Great gift shop full of educational books. The museum itself is also a part of the history, having been the headquarters for the Phelps-Dodge local copper mining and smelting operations. Well worth the $10 admission!

Before our visit, we had no idea of Bisbee's pivotal role in the expansion of the West. It's truly astonishing to discover that Bisbee was once among the largest cities in the Western United States. The museum offers a wealth of knowledge, from its in-depth exploration of union-busting efforts and rich mining history to the surprising number of baseball legends who played in the area. What makes the experience even more unique is the passionate storytelling by volunteer guides, many of whom hail from families that have lived in the area for generations. Their personal anecdotes provide insights you won't find anywhere else. Additionally, the museum boasts an impressive collection of mining artifacts, many of which have been returned by the Smithsonian - a testament to their original significance to this community. The gift shop is a treasure trove in itself, stocked with a wide selection of books and memorabilia that celebrate Bisbee's heritage. We wholeheartedly recommend a visit to this remarkable museum.

I recommend checking out this museum, especially if you have already done the Queen Mine Tour, there are a lot of displays, pictures and information on the mines of Bisbee, as well as history on Bisbee itself. The second floor has a lot of minerals/rocks on display if you're into geology.

Historic Bisbee if you love old architecture and cool shops as much as I do you'll be in paradise. It gets crowded so weekdays are better. There's limited places to eat unless you go out of the historic area and into the other areas of Bisbee past the copper mine pit, which I highly suggest you visit. This is an active working mine and the locals are authentic and not commercialized like you see in places like Tombstone. It's worth the drive to get there. Make sure you make arrangements for a place to stay in advance!

This was our favorite part of Bisbee. We learned a lot about its history. Outside of this there wasn't much else to do. Pretty cool the high school diplomas were made of copper considering how big mining for such a precious metal was to this small town.
Spanning 57,000 acres, this area protects river & land wildlife, as well as historical sites.
Spent about a month here in the 1980s volunteering to restore the old historic Safford Morenci Trail. Remote. Breathtaking.

Beautiful area, just a little more annual upkeep is required in carr canyon, ideally the picnic area. The potential for this place is huge. I dont know if the resources are lacking but if they got the canyon cleaned the potential of fires would go down substantially. In recent years they have been clearing large debris and graveling the road which is nice to see. Keep up the great work guys.

This is an exceptionally beautiful place. There are many birds and there is a gift shop and there are picnic areas and historical sites really a wonderful place to go.
But the best thing about / the San Pedro house / that is what we call it here in Cochise County the San Pedro house. The best thing is the hiking here is incredible. It is best to come here in the winter and the spring however I went for a hike in the summer here and if it's not too hot I can be very pleasant. Wonderful place to take photographs wonderful Natural riparian Area. This is a natural River and if you are from a different part of the country it is just a trickle of a stream. But here in Arizona we call this a river. Just a really beautiful place and it is kind of not like Arizona it looks like a little string back east or up North with cottonwood trees and lots of hiking trails just awesome

Many routes and trails pre-monsoon when only ground water holes are full. Multiple ecosystems, many species of plants and animals, remote feeling, paradoxical views of desert next to verdent ponds, via Sky Islands Traverse the trail is extensive and can take a whole day.

Very pretty scenery. We were actually just on the south side of the highway. The paths make for a nice walk and seeing water in the desert is always a pleasure.
Visitor center isn't open, but the trails are. 5th car in the lot on a Friday at 8:45, by 10 it was full with cars circling for a spot. Word is they are preparing to open soon.
No Trogan, although an employee in the parking lot said they have a resident one. Plenty of birds though.
I enjoy the peace and beauty, others enjoy being loud. I don't get it. There are plenty of trails in the area if that's all you're after.

Ramsey Canyon Trail was a perfect scenic walk with so much to see. We were amazed by the nature - butterflies, caterpillars, lizards, birds, so many different species of trees, bushes, mushrooms, a couple structures - all great photo ops! The trail is mostly shaded. You walk along the running creek mostly the entire time and the sound is beautiful. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. Someone did see a rattle snake slide across the trail, so be careful of you've got young children. If you do have kids with you, grab a bingo game card for them - it's a scavenger hunt. When they get back, they get a prize if they got four in a row. Definitely worth $5! Oh, and don't forget to sign the guest book!

Beautiful area with maintained hiking trails, resting benches, some information signs. Gift shop run by friendly Nature Conservancy people. Paved parking lot. $5 fee to hike trails, which is well worth it and benefits the Nature Conservancy. OMG this place was so beautiful. I never expected to see fall colors like we did in Arizona! We went here in November during Thanksgiving week.
There were so many big beautiful wild turkeys and deer that were not afraid of humans taking their pictures 😊
The hike up through the trees is an easy one and so worth it.
They have a great little gift shop and some history boards and displays.
It cost $7.00 a person to do the hike.

I decided to take my little one on a hike this afternoon. Staff was friendly and admission was $5 for adults and free for kids. There were plenty of walking sticks available to use at the visitor center. My toddler and I really enjoyed the peaceful nature walk to the Sycamore point, followed by the steep climb to the top. We were unable to hike all of the way to the overlook point since I wasn't fully prepared with my small hiking backpack. We managed to climb halfway up before my little one had a potty accident. I had extra clothes, but they were in my car, which is why we stopped the hike and returned back to the car. In the future, I will remember to bring an extra outfit and snacks in a small backpack for my little one for future hikes. I did remember to pack my smartphone, beverages, hats, training pants, and bug spray. Fortunately, we didn't have to use any bug spray. Most of the trail is well-shaded so hats aren't necessary to wear. It is definitely worth seeing...a very beautiful hiking place and trails with plenty of deer, squirrels, butterflies, and birds to see. If you are hiking around lunch time or hiking all the way to the overlook point, then I recommend packing a small lunch, especially if you climbed the steep mountain like we did. You will be hungry and thirsty by the time that you reach the top. I heard from a friend that there is an easier alternate trail in order to get to the overlook point that doesn't involve the steep climb of the mountain...maybe we will try to look for that trail on a different visit.

You pay a little to visit these hiking trails, but they have done a really great job of making the conservancy inviting and friendly to wildlife, so totally worth it. Saw deer, frogs, and all sorts of interesting insects on the last hike. Plenty of short, gentle trails for little ones and mature ones, as well as a slightly more challenging overlook to add a bit of workout. Friendly staff and apparently great birding for those who are into that. Highly recommend a visit.

Outstanding birding area in season. We were a bit early for the full spring experience by several weeks but still nice. Be advised they are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. A small parking lot with no overflow or street parking so if the small lot is full you will have to leave and come back later. TNC charges admission if you aren't a member.

Beautiful for taking in the fall colors, wildlife, and of course birds. Choose from a short, easy hiking trail, or go all the way to the lookout point, with benches along the way to just sit and observe. Nice gift shop with friendly help. Free parking is limited, but we didn't mind paying to park at the small lodge next door.

Absolutely beautiful place. The folks who run the visitor's center are welcoming and helpful and the visitor's center has clean restrooms. There is so much wonderful wildlife to see here, including many species of hummingbirds, coatis, deer, frogs and dozens of other bird species, just to name some.
I've been to the preserve several times now and I notice something new every time; whether that be flora or fauna.
The huge turkeys by the grassy areas and hummingbird feeders are also fun to observe.
Entry costs $8 for adults who don't reside within Cochise County and $5 for those who do live within the county. Considering that this place is well maintained with clearly marked trails and that they partner with The Nature Conservancy, I think this is absolutely fair.
The first few photos were taken the day I posted this review, the last autumnal photos were taken in winter of 2022. Autumn and early winter are very popular to take photos of the colorful foliage in Ramsey Canyon. It's advised to come on a weekday because this time is so popular.

Allen Street is the historical center of Tombstone, Arizona and a hotspot during its heyday for activity in the Old West. The storefronts on Allen Street are still mostly original and offer a glimpse into the town's past. Some of the notable businesses on Allen Street include saloons, gun shops, and general stores.
We visited here during the week so a lot of the shops were closed which was disappointing. But what was open was the okay corral and that was fantastic. We also did the horse and carriage ride which was relaxing, fun The driver was our tour guide and was very informative as we rode down some of the downtown streets.

The Bird Cage Theatre is a theater in Tombstone, Arizona that is said to be haunted by the spirits of women who worked there as prostitutes and their clients. It has been reported that over 190 bullet holes remain in the building from historic gunfights. The theater offers nightly ghost tours for guests 12 and older, which are popular with families.
Always a fun experience. Took my daughters on the ghost tour they had a great time. They also have the self guided tour that is cheaper but we enjoyed learning all about the birdcage and tombstone. So much history. Staff is very friendly. Trish knows so much of the history and it is always great to hear everything. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience.

This is a great museum that is in the original building from 140 years ago. They have a lot of original artifacts from when the building was a Theatre and a brothel. Wyatt Erp went to this establishment. They had a lot of historical information about the town and the different lives of the famous people that lived there.

This was a fun tour! The tours are an hour and a half long, including the 30 minutes darkness time to 'welcome the ghosts to make their presence known'. Our guide, Karen, was knowledgeable, humorous and a delight. Highly recommend this tour. The history of the Bird Cage is interesting and you'll even see evidence of some of the lawlessness from history (1880's bullet slugs in walls and the bar).

The museum is even more exciting because of its original place. It's a real witness of history. The guides have huge knowledge and describe the place in a very interesting way. Amazing place to hang out and take a guided tour. So much to look at and learn about. It's like going back in time to the late 1800's. Our tour guide was awesome and you could tell she loves her job! 1.5 hours and a great bargain for the history lesson. The amount of original artifacts is mind blowing. You could easily spend a day here and not see everything it has to offer. Very knowledgeable staff. Make sure you use the restroom before going on a tour as there are no public restrooms. It's said to be quite haunted and while we didn't experience much activity the kid had a great time and the lights out period of the tour was really cool! The O.K. Corral is a historic site that offers reenactments of the famous gunfight between Wyatt Earp and his brother Virgil. It is also haunted by the cowboys and law enforcement officers associated with the event.
Tombstone is known for this very spot, so it's obviously a must if you come to Tombstone. It's free to go inside the main shop but you have to pay $10 per person to explore the back courtyard and stables and the main draw: the staged gun fight. There are a few areas in Tombstone to see staged gun fights, but this one is by far the most recommended based on the fact that it's the OG and happens at the actual O.K. Corral, even the locals stated that. Go early that way you don't miss the show, as they are known to sell out especially during peak seasons and weekends. The gun fight is about 20 - 30 minutes and very entertaining, audience participation is encouraged like applauding the deputies and booing the cowboys for an added comical touch and they all have fun with it. Pictures with the actors are welcomed after the show which always makes the little kids go crazy. The staff inside the store are fun to talk with and very nice. Also, for fans of the movie (which I'd assume most everyone visiting Tombstone to begin with probably are), there are some props inside the store to read up on and admire. Prices inside the gift shop are on par with most everything else in Tombstone, though they do also have some exclusive merchandise being that they're the actual O.K. Corral. Overall, very fun and highly recommended.

The actors use some humor when doing their thing. They do present some of the history that led up to the shooting, and a little on the Earp family after that. Enjoyable to be sure. We've seen it twice. Your ticket also gets you into a history presentation on Tombstone itself, which is well worth the small price. Gives you a much better appreciation for Tombstone and old Western history.

A fun show with some clever lines. Deliberately campy and lots of laughs. The bad guys are the best. The Sam Elliot- like character who played Virgil's a bit wooden, but overall quite entertaining for all ages. Our party ranges from age 2 to 70 and we all enjoyed it. The Vincent Price-narrated diorama/ movie was cleverly done. See pic of the instructions you are given. Gift shop was touristy but our grands enjoyed getting a pop gun or two.

Great show. Always a blast. The actors do a superb job of being fun and interactive. Been several times and always see the OK Corral reenactment. Good for all ages. Tickets are $10 and can donate to the actors at the end, well worth it. Can't wait to return.

This place is amazing!! So much history. The gunfight was absolutely fantastic!!! It was so great I saw it twice during my 5 day stay in Tombstone. The actors are wonderful, and also pretty cool dudes!! The O.K. Corral is a MUST when you visit Tombstone. I cannot wait to return!

For $10, you can learn pretty much all you need to know about the gunfight. The live gun battle is pretty good and the actors let you take pictures with them. Fun for adults and children.
Colby Swann — Google review
It was a pretty short but engaging reenactment. Get to walk through some history on the premises as well. You $10 per adult buys you a range of experiences not just the reenactment.
They try to keep the majority of the audience in the shade. Three different times there is "gun fire" FYSA in case you have a little one or veteran sensitive to noise.

Worth the time and money for a perspective of American history! Tombstone has a lot going on for a day trip/overnight trip. I was glad to see the whole act. Lots of history, photographs, and spaces to explore. Definitely shown in the perspective of white americans as the great fighters of the west... Ignoring the fact that their American history contains all of today's Americans.... Showed Native americans as the ('enemies') bad guys and as though they aren't Americans and no mentions of any Black or Mexican Americans. Oh well...but who knew the o.k. corral was real!?! Sick! Thanks for the fun show!

Fun old west show. The actors are funny, knowledgeable, and friendly. The show was entertaining and well done with a lot of humor. I've been twice and would happily go again.

What a cool place to visit! The gun show was really cool! The actor's did a great job! Cool to see history played out even if its not completely accurate. We loved the displays and gift shop!

ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED! I watched this show last week. I was expecting something shorter and simpler but it turned out to be very well staged and produced. 4 handsome, elegant, slim lawmen against the overweight outlaws. Excellent performances from all actors. Considerate amount of dialogue as well - to give you the context of the actual gunfight. The American Southwest is magic! Don't miss Tombstone. In memory of my late father, western film fan back in Greece - Christos Petropoulos (1931 - 2009).

I had a great time walking through the town and seeing all of the shops. The Cowboys were fun and entertaining! Tickets are reasonable, and there is much to see without paying for a ticket, so it works as a fun stop on a budget.

Acting was superb. Actors offer to take pictures free of charge. Only cost $10 bucks. This has got to be the best price for a show anywhere
The Boothill Graveyard is a notorious cemetery in Tombstone, Arizona that holds the graves of many people who committed crimes in the Old West. The name of the cemetery is derived from those killed while wearing their boots in gunfights - meaning they were fighting to the death.
Interesting place to visit especially if you know the history or at least enjoyed the movies. Very rustic, historic cemetery with a reasonable entry fee (cash only, ATM in gift shop) and excellent visitors guide. Only downside is that it's all gravel and dirt on an incline so not really wheelchair friendly, or safe for those with balance issues.
Liz Waddle — Google review
This is worth the $3 entrance. The booklet comes with the entrance fee & has the stories behind each grave. It’s well kept and interesting to walk through. The gift shop is very nice as well, with a sweet clerk to welcome everyone.

Foothill Graveyard: I enjoyed the gift shop more than the graveyard. The graveyard seemed as if it the gravestone markers were all made around the same time, which made me skeptical as to if the information on them was accurate. I am not saying they are not accurate, but the feeling it gave me. My problem is I've been to graveyards in other places, such as Bodie and they leave this one bland.
I still suggest you go. It completes the visit to Tombstone and the cost is minor. Get it "Minor", at $3 a person to enter the graveyard. Parking is free.
I gave it 4 Star's due to the gift shop.
The graveyard is 3 stars.

Boothill Graveyard lives! I mean Boothill Graveyard is a real place.
I knew of this place as a child. Television shows of the Wild West told me so. The gunfight at the O.K. Corral reaffirmed Boothill is a special place where cowboys are buried with their boots on. However I didn’t see this site for myself. More than 60 years later, I traveled to Tombstone and rode along Route 80 to Boothill.
On the outskirts of Tombstone, not far from the Tombstone Grand, you’ll see the graves of an interesting bunch of cowboys and others forever resting in peace.
I paid $3 for a chance to confirm all that I learned from Hollywood movies and TV on the history and inhabitants of Boothill.
Once I entered through a small building, I saw what on first sight looked like gravesites with tombstones. As I looked around among the eleven rows, I found the resting place of John Heath. His death in 1884 was from hanging. Heath’s death stood out among “the residents” of Boothill. From the paragraph in the brochure, John Heath’s death reads: “Taken from county jail and lynched by Bisbee mob, Feb.22, 1884. He was called the leader of the five men who were legally hanged and was said to have planned the robbery. He was hanged from a telegraph pole a short distance west of the courthouse.” Some of the tombstone descriptions were mildly amusing such as that of Lester Moore: “Here lies Lester Moore, Four slugs from a .44, No les, no more.”
You may ask yourself, “Is this all real?” These are amusing gravestones in maybe an off kilter sense of humor way. I was left with wondering about the character and personalities of these folks from the Old West especially the large number of them under their tombstone that reads, Unknown. They lie for an eternity and will be visited often by strangers like myself.

Visiting Boothill is like stepping back in time.So much history is buried there,it is a fascinating place to visit and a must do if you are visiting Tombstone. You will receive a pamphlet with a layout of the cemetery when you arrive that lists the names on all the graves and a summary as to how they died and on some a history of how they lived, this was achieved by the families of the deceased giving the information to the owners of the cemetery.I highly recommend that you visit if you are in the area.

this is a really cool place to see you get handed a pamphlet with all the names and causes of death so you get to take your time and really look at everything as it's not a guided tour the staff where very kind and you could tell they enjoy there job we spent about an hour in there between looking at everything and paying respects one thing I will say is yes it's real so don't be disrespectful

If you have kids they will get a kick out of it. If your a visitor who has never seen a real ghost town cemetery you'll enjoy this place. It's costs money to get in and it is mostly fake. Just keep that in mind. For us, it was a waste of time and money. Don't get me wrong........it's worth it for most people. We have been to too many real old west cemetaries and this is a place for tourists first and foremost. Go and see the real one as well.

Cool stop going into Tombstone. As a fan of wild west history it's neat to see the graves of those shot at the o.k. Coral. Make sure you check out the gift shop because the workers are extremely nice

For an idea of how cheap life was in this mining town the Graveyard is worth the price. A map showing who is where and what caused their demise. I recommend you visit the Graveyard and look for yourself. Just who was bad or good often depends on who’s telling the story.

What a piece of history! It's like stepping back in time. When you visit the legendary Tombstone, Arizona, you have to check out Boot Hill Graveyard. There's a John Heath there, he was apparently lynched by a mob in 1884, but we haven't found any direct relation. ) This is one of those bucket list places that if you can find time to get there, it's worth the nostalgia.

Very interesting to see. $3 per adult to enter. You are given a guide map upon entering. If you are into the history of Tombstone, then this is a must stop. The cemetery has an amazing view. Plan on spending about 30min to an hour to view all of the site.

Boothill cemetery is worth a visit. The price to enter was $3 and the gift shop has good products. The gravestones have a lot of history. The gift shop had different items than the shops in the town area. The shop had knives, apparel, coins, glassware, and antiques. The cashier is super friendly and loves to chat with everybody.

A tourist trap in its tackiest form. Yes, there are some very interesting characters, buried here, but the fact that you have to pay to visit a graveyard and can only exit through a gift shop really rips the il west spirit out of the experience. When we left, I felt like I had purchased a used car.

If you go to Tombstone I feel like you need to see Boothill Cemetery. It's only $3 per person to get in, and you're given a little information booklet about all the graves there. We spent close to an hour here, though we prioritized the more famous and unique graves. Some people could spend less or more time here and still feel like they got what they wanted out of their visit. The reviews that dismiss this place as "fake" irritate me - this is a real graveyard that houses the final resting place for many of Tombstone's founding and famous citizens. This place definitely has a tourist attraction touch to it, hence some of the occasional more comical tombstones (which is most of what these reviews are referencing), but they're still real graves, and you're still expected to be respectful when you visit.
Park with a 265-acre, manmade lake as its main attraction also features camping & fishing.
Beautiful spot! I've been coming here since high school and it's still beautiful and well kept. Had a great time on a 60 minute bird watching tour where our captain Winston slowly navigated the beautiful lake. Our guide was super nice and knowledgeable about the area birds. Great time!

Very nice AZ State Park, located about 3 hours South of Phoenix. They have many campsites, and or cabins for lodging. The lake is very large and scenic. There is also a beachfront for swimming. Trails for hiking and it’s known as a popular birding spot. The marina has boat rentals and fishing supplies. The park also has a market/convenience store for last minute items as well as ice, drinks, food items and souvenirs. We have camped here twice in a camper and recently stayed in a cabin. Check out AZ state park website for lodging and reservations.

Nice lake and beautiful area of the state. The cabin was nice enough but do yourself a favor and stay at the inn in Patagonia. It's the same price. I say this because the cabin was $120 a night, including shower and bathrooms. However apparently the bathrooms and showers have been closed for months with no ETA on when they'll be repaired. Also, the porta potties were near over flowing. Wasn't a pleasant experience. But such a beautiful area.
I will say that Deb at the visitor's center was awesome. Such a nice person, very attentive and kind.

Great Family Fun! Bathrooms are clean! Little store was well stocked. Dog friendly areas away from the beach 🙂 We do reserve a campsite for several nights at least once a year. Boat docking is easy, even for beginners. Totally worth the drive, and day pass fee is very reasonable! We paid $15 on a Friday.

My husband and I took our daughter for the first time and brought a paddle board and kayaks. We all had a wonderful time. There were many families there with children of all ages. It is a calm lake with restrictions on power boats and other motorized vehicles like jetskis, so there are no worries about being in the water. It has a nice beachy area where kids were building sand castles and places to grill. My husband also pointed out cabins in walking distance to stay overnight if you want. For a public area, it was well maintained, and there were a lot of trash cans, so it was easy to make sure it stayed clean. Wonderful place to spend the day or weekend.

Patagonia is a great place to spend the day or camp for a few days. They have cabins you can rent if you don't own an RV and you aren't a tent person. They also have boats you can rent at the marina store from pontoon boats, power boats, small engine 2 person fishing boats, row boats, and canoes. Or of course you can bring your own. There are two different boat ramps to drop your floating palaces in the water and plenty of parking around them. The area is very scenic and beautiful with hiking trails as well. There's a designated no wake zone for swimmers and boats without a motor. The lake also has on lake restrooms that you can dock at or swim to. It can be an inexpensive day trip or a pricier camping weekend depending on what you plan to do. Of course there is also plenty of fishing and all around fun for the entire family. This is definately one of my favorite weekend/day trip getaways during the summer. I highly recommend you check it out!

It's a beautiful place it's just their drawing is very misleading. We picked a cabin close to the restrooms but they don't tell you that you have to go down this steep hill to get to the restrooms. I'm 76 years old and getting up in the middle of the night tracing down a gravel path to go to the restroom is not for me persome of the cabins had portable bathrooms outside but not our cabin and I don't know why. It's a beautiful place the scenery is gorgeous the cabins were nice and clean and everyone around there was very nice.

Kayaking: Started out at the boat launch outside the store, paddled to the west side of the lake by the spillway. Saw water birds, boaters, anglers and families on the shore with kids in the picnic areas. Also spotted some cows. Lots of parking. Parked my vehicle up the hill and walked back to the kayak both to unload and load the kayak. Pretty local lake. $20 fee on the weekend, $15 during the week. There is a visitors center that is informational with books, maps, suvinors and helpful staff. The visitors center also provides hiking trail information and paper handout trail maps. Restrooms at the visitor center as well.

Camped for the weekend, site 75. It was fantastic! Sites are a little closer together than I prefer, but 73 & 75 looked like some of the bigger ones and back up to the day use beach area, so no one camping behind you. Short walk to the beach, which was great for kids, lots of shade to kick back and watch/relax. Skunks were kinda fun in the evenings, just stay out of their way. Clean restrooms and showers. Visitor center and market were both great. Lots of cool areas to explore and hang out. Would definitely go back.

This park is kind of remote. Not much to do if you don't boat or bird. This is a big birder park. Took the bird boat tour which was nice, $7 each. This is the first of 7 AZ state parks we've been to in last 2 months that had state park police. Just one but still better than the rest. Took the Sonoita hike. You have to register for a permit to hike there so the rangers know how many people to look for if you get lost. River was too high and fast to ford due to recent rains so we had to turn around and come back. Don't camp by the visitors center because that is the tent area and they are very noisy. Fortunately they have police here. There is a mini mart here, not much, almost nothing fresh, and expensive. Also sell gas. $3.62 when it is $2.89 back by I10 but I filled up because there isn't another gas station for 30 miles.

Kartchner Caverns State Park is a vast limestone cave system showcasing living rock formations. It has been in existence for over five million years but remained undiscovered until 1974. The location was kept secret for another 25 years to prepare it for public viewing. The park offers two equally impressive guided tours, each lasting about 90 minutes.
Visited 02/24/22 while kids were out of school for Rodeo break! Very fun and informative tour. The visitors center was very nice as well. They have a restaurant on site if you feel the need. Make reservations online because the tours fill up fast. Definitely worth the $money$ and roughly a 30 minute drive from Tucson. Enjoy!

I remember visiting here a very long time ago. The cavern is basically the same thanks to thoughtful preservation efforts 👌. The tour was lovely. We had a great tour guide. He shared his "cave humor" and he obviously has a great passion for the caverns. This is a DO NOT MISS when in the area. We'll worth that $20-ish ticket. The caverns are absolutely stunning inside. They have incredible rock formations. They have Stalactites and stalagmites and columns and soda straw formations and more. The colors are beautiful too. Unfortunately, you can NOT take your cell phones in the caverns, so you can not take any pictures inside the caverns. The inside of the caverns is like being on another world or another planet. They have lockers that you can store your items in until after the tour. They also have a great museum with a lot of history and artifacts. There is a gift shop too. We were very glad we visited.

So amazing!! We were told at the entrance no more tours and went into the park and discovered the gate gal incorrect! You can get a tour by walking in. It is probably better to assure a tour if you book online. But they do have wonderful tours throughout the day. They stop the cave tours for the bat breeding. Reopening in October. Arizona has wonderful state parks & campgrounds. We loved Kartchner Caverns State Park. We had a spacious site with full hook-ups and was located on the end - no neighbors on our door side! Site #11 is the best! We had mountain views. It was very quiet. Our site was clean and raked. Rangers were helpful and guided hikes were offered. There were a number of hiking trails which provided elevated views of the area. The caverns are worth seeing. We went on one of the tours offered. It was interesting!

Went there for the hiking - great experience. All the trails are moderate difficulty with only a few spots where you have to work around some of the larger rocks. For the Guindani trail, it was recommended to go counterclockwise, you follow the wash and it starts off harder, but is very beautiful and then the second half is much easier.

Camping at the campground is a delight for a few days. They provide a nice modern place to camp. Hookup includes water and electricity a picnic table, fire ring and paved driveway.
The visitors center has a good number of displays and extensive explanations of the caves. There is a movie about the history and discovery of the ancient caverns. Admission to the two caves is affordable and they are spectacular!
In addition there are a number of well marked hiking trails to explore and the park is close enough to Benson for fuel and anything else that you need.

What an amazing adventure! Camping at the grounds was great. Water, electricity, a table and firepit are provided, and the space is pretty huge. Bathrooms are large and clean, with showers separate from the toilet stalls. There was fire wood in our firepit, which was a great surprise as we thought we needed to go out to buy some, but didn't have to. DO THE CAVE TOUR! Our tour guide, Cody, was amazing, funny and informative. We were only able to do the Rotunda-Throne Room, but will definitely come back to do the Big Room. The Visitor Center is a MUST, but also check out the Bat Cave Cafe (the tamales were surprisingly great) and Hummingbird Garden.

What an amazing park! The care people take in preservation of the cave is really striking! The cave really is a magical place! The visitor’s center and museum are amazing and fun for kids! Junior ranger program is a bit challenging, but fun! We were not able to secure RV camp spot on their campground - RV road trip during Easter week. But we were able to stay on their ginormous overflow parking lot overnight ! 15$, no gates, pay station with envelopes or pay in am when rangers come in. The overflow parking lot is very big and you can find a secluded corner.
Cafe on premises is really minimal. Highly recommend visiting this park! Unfortunately no pictures allowed inside the cave.

My husband and I took the Rotunda/Throne Room tour. The formations are absolutely spectacular!! We were in awe and totally enjoyed viewing the beautiful, amazing, and large number of different types of formations. I am a photography buff and would loved to have taken photos but of course we read the rules and knew ahead of time that photos are not allowed. Believe me, photos would not do Kartchner Caverns justice!! You have to see it with your own eyes. A special detail is that the caverns is entirely wheelchair accessible! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and shared many interesting details. We are from the East Coast originally and have seen Luray Caverns, which does not have the variety of formations that Kartchner has. I highly recommend that everyone experience this beautiful and magical place. Water is truly an amazing force of nature.
Park comprising ruins of 3 Spanish mission communities, including a restored church, plus a museum.
A very nice place to visit! This place has lots of history about earlier days of Arizona. The church was built in 1822 ~ 200 years ago now. It was made to look like the great Spanish Cathedrals. It even have a baptismal font and the choir loft! At one point they had over 200 people living in the Tumacacori Mission. The park has a nice walk around area and some tables for a little picnic. When I arrive, the place was really quiet and peaceful. I can sit there for hours.

A National Historic Landmark. The mission is filled with history dating back hundreds of years. An easy walk around the park and grounds and not a lot of people. I plan to go back for Christmas Eve.

Definitely worth a visit if you have the national park annual pass; not sure if it’d be if you’re paying the $10 per person entrance fee. The San Xavier is a much bigger mission up north of this one and free. It was cool for me to see them both because it gave me a better sense of how each is unique and the nuances of their history.
The Tumacácori has a history with a mix of collaboration and uprising/clashes between the natives and Spanish - while the San Xavier would be more of a symbiotic relationship and hence a more well maintained structure.

This site was a new experience for me and it was nice to educate myself on the time period and everything that happened at this site. I will say however that it wasn't the most exciting experience to me compared to other National Sites, I felt it lacked things to do that was going to make for a memorable experience. Had I not had the annual national parks pass, I would have been slightly disappointed in the experience I had with a $10 entrance fee which can easily add up with a small family and also going out of my way to make this trip this far South in Arizona. I've been to several other National Sites for free that had more interesting things happening. That being said, the staff were knowledgeable and very friendly, the grounds were well kept, the bathrooms were clean, there were plenty of picnic benches, I am not handicap but the area and landscape seemed fairly accessible, the museum was informative and the video was surprisingly good - a lot of national sites I've been to the video is very outdated and boring. To sum it up, this is not a site I will buy souvenirs from though I give it 5 stars because everyone involved has done a good job and I did not have a bad experience.

Christmas Eve at Tumacacori is magical. The mission becomes decorated with 2,500 luminaries between 6 and 9pm. Even though there are lines to enter, we had to wait less than 5 minutes. No entrance fee is charged, although a $5 donation is suggested. The walk through the lighted areas takes less than 20 minutes. Near the exit, hot chocolate and homemade Christmas treats are served free of charge. Parking is available in front of the entrance for handicap visitors.

Great gem just off of I-19. Staff was great. Walking self tour guide was helpful and full of good information. Glad we detoured from Tucscon on the way to Tombstone to see it.

What a wonderful surprise this park is! Mission, storage room, house, parade grounds, water storage, incredible history! Great museum, too. NPS hidden gem!

I really enjoyed my visit to Tumacacori National Monument. The church and the exhibits along the self-guided tour were interesting. I also enjoyed the museum, as well.

Incredible history. Great staff, they are very knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely worth the drive and entrance fee. Imagine what resources it took the early Spaniards to settle and occupy this area, good or bad… Wow!

1891 I-19 Frontage Rd, Tumacacori-Carmen, AZ 85640, USA
Park commemorating Spanish colonial America with a museum, excavated presidio & 1885 schoolhouse.
We arrived and the grounds were closed on Monday and Tuesday. The volunteer who was gardening, allowed us to walk the gardens. Stunning grounds and wonderful public relations. We will be back for the museums.

A nice park where the annual Day of the Dead procession is held the first Saturday of November.

I really enjoyed Tubac Presidio State Park. The self-guided tour was interesting. I found that the Historic Schoolhouse, archeological remains of the Presidio and the Rojas house were very some of the highlights for me. The museum is also very extensive.

Visiting for the day, we stopped here just because we saw the sign when shopping. Absolutely loved it! Fascinating and educational. What's amazing is that you get to go into the buildings. We all had a great time and will definitely be back!

This is a Spanish mission era fortress that was built to protect locals from Apache raiding. It was not successful as it was eventually abandoned. The US took over and built a fort on the ruins. They too abandoned it as the Apache raids were relentless. Eventually there was a negotiated settlement that gave the Apaches back most of their homeland and they stopped raiding. There is now a nice museum in what is a former school with all this documented and a lot of relevant artifacts. There are reconstructed buildings and tunnel down to where the original Spanish foundations were excavated. Spent a good 2 hours, it was worth the stop.

Excellent state park and grounds. Self guided tour after a very good video. Plenty to see but plan on walking the trails too as they link up to the Tumacacori mission too. Local art shops on the way to the park make this a full day to enjoy.

Really cool self guided tour. The history is incredible. This is the first state park in Arizona.

Fantastic collection and display of items from this historical site. It takes a lot more time to see than I expected. Unfortunately, only a tiny bit is actually excavated, would like to see a lot more. Displays inside were quite nice and interesting. Well maintained.

Great place and kid friendly with many hands on exhibits. My son loved the old school house and Rosa's casa. The volunteers were very friendly. Make sure to do the scavenger hunt and junior ranger piece for badge if you are bringing kids.

Children love it, I've seen the outside grounds but have not toured the inside...yet! I usually walk to the middle of Tubac and explore the great shops. I love Shelbys for peaceful, relaxing dining outdoors but History is always cool in my book. A visual reminder and first rate way to learn.some of the townsfolk are kitschy as he'll too :)

This was my first visit to the Presidio. It is set up well and for the $5 entrance fee, well worth the time to go through it. There is 2000 years worth of history here. The museum has an amazing amount of artifacts. I came here to see the ambulance (wagon) and was not disappointed. Its in beautiful shape and you can touch it! Unheard of in most museums. Plan on at least an hour to 2 hours to go through everything. The employees are very knowledgeable and friendly.

Very nice museum to visit. Looking at the uniforms and the heavy gear Spanish soldados de cuera(the leather soldiers) had to wear, it is no wonder the Comanches and the Apaches were able to wreak havoc with their raids. The paintings from Bill Ahrendt are also pretty amazing I have to say.

Wonderful long trails, Juan Bautista Anza trail had a lot of history:"The Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail covers over 1200 miles through the homelands of 70+ Tribal communities. It follows the historic route of the 1775-76 Spanish colonizing expedition from Sonora, Mexico to San Francisco, CA."

You won't mistake this place for the Smithsonian but if you visit you will see what local volunteers did over the last few decades to bring alive the history of their town and the surrounding natural areas. It's a sweet and interesting multi-media indoor/outdoor museum that is worth at least an hour of your time. It's also a welcome break from the commercialism of the art and craft shops.
Charron Vineyards offers a wide selection of delectable wines in a warm and inviting setting, complemented by friendly and welcoming staff. The location exudes a rural charm, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of the countryside while indulging in moments of pure bliss through their sips. One standout experience is their Halloween-themed wine and candy pairing, which brilliantly combines uniqueness with success. Wine enthusiasts can enjoy tastings and even bring home several bottles for further enjoyment.
Amazing views and wine, the new owners seem to really respect the history of the vineyard itself and really speak highly of all the work that has gone into the estate, the vines, and the business over the years. The staff and owners are incredibly friendly. I also read they have events like star gazing etc. I would absolutely come back here again and again when I'm in southern AZ.

Vineyards near Tucson??? It's the desert!?!?!?! Really? Oh yes! Visited here with my wife and it was wonderful! What a nice little vineyard and the wines are terrific! What a pleasant surprise! The staff there is awesome too! BTW, if you are heading out there, follow the Google Maps directions for the turn as the signage will have you going down the wrong road. The staff there said they had already called AZ DOT to move the sign but they have not yet.
Anyways, well worth the drive from Tucson and the tasting fee! You even get to keep the glass! BTW, try the wine slushie... oh so good on a hot day.

Service was very nice, however I didn't really find a wine that I care for. The area was very nice with lots of seating room. It was a beautiful day and quite a pleasant experience.

Today was only my second visit to Charron Vineyards and I'm just not inspired to return. I don't live very far away and I would come often, but for ONE thing. The location and view are lovely. Some of the wines are excellent. The service is friendly. But I can only give Charron Vineyards an overall 3-star rating because of one reason: the lack of proper food. Yes, I understand that this is NOT a restaurant. But when you offer a "charcuterie" board for $16 and all I get is a plastic-wrapped Boars Head meat n' cheese snack pack from Costco, it does not inspire me to come back. And then to charge $2 for a sleeve of Ritz crackers to go with that? Yuck. Seriously, the wines that are served here deserve far, far better food to go with them. How hard would it be to open that plastic Boars Head package, arrange the sliced meats and cheeses on a proper charcuterie board, and put some fresh grapes or maybe some dried fruits, nuts, and a bowl of olives on it? With some decent crackers? Or a little baguette and a wheel of brie? I would gladly pay more for that. And how about offering some proper desserts like chocolate cake or cheesecake? Things that actually go with wine. This place has a lot going for it and tremendous potential, but there's just a big disconnect between the outstanding location/good wine and the poor choices of things being offered to eat, combined with their very poor presentation. I often have out-of-town visitors who I know would enjoy the location and the wines, but I never even consider bringing them here for this one reason. Correct this one thing and I honestly believe you would get a lot more visitors. And if you ever started serving lunch (salads, sandwiches, etc) you'd be full all the time. And of course more visitors means you'd sell more wine, and isn't that the point?

The winery is in a remote area and beautiful view of the mountains. Husband and I did a tasting than a glass each of their Merlot. Very good. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

A wonderful place for an afternoon glass of wine! The syrah and the Between the Trails were my favorite. We sat on the patio, and enjoyed the view.

Large variety of delicious wines in an inviting and cozy location with down home/friendly staff…makes you feel away from it all as you take in the rural beauty and sip yourself into blissful moments. I loved the Halloween themed wine & candy pairing - such a unique idea and yet it worked so well! We thoroughly enjoyed our wine tasting and even took several bottles home with us! The blueberry pomegranate slushie was extremely tasty and refreshing in the very warm afternoon! Only negative is that the gravel/dirt road you have to traverse from the main paved road to get there is quite rough and tumble in a few spots and overall could use some work to make it more manageable…we have back issues and it was quite an irritant.

A small winery with mountain views, great staff/owners and a nice selection of wines. We enjoyed a couple of flights and bought a mixed case of our favorites. We thought the trip was worth the drive, just be prepared for the country road to get to this little gem.

This place is awesome! The scenery and environment is breathtaking, especially when the sun is setting. The staff and owners are all very nice and helpful and the place really has a local and comfortable vibe. I proposed to my fiancé here and the level of detail and preparation they gave us to make it happen was above and beyond. The owners went out of their way to set things up with the photographer, chef, and violinist to make sure everything went perfectly. Not to mention, the wine is FANTASTIC.
Have been attending this farmers market for over a decade and recently I can say its really impressed! Many stalls with loads of variety and delicious food. Kid friendly, dog friendly, and wheelchair accessible. Even despite the crowds my grandmother who uses a walker was able to maneuver with relative ease.

Lots of cool people go here. Lots of really cool people sell here. Too many favorites to list but you'll find your favorite within a visit or two...wife loves Jimmy the Greek and his spanokopita, i love the fresh from the farm stalls, dog loves both pet products booths. Don't forget to try the coffee or get a hot dog too!!

Went for the craft market. So many great artists. My favorite does glass work. Lately she makes the cutest glass cactus in terracotta pots. I have a bunch of Christmas ornaments she did too. Her work is just too cute. You can find her way in the back, up the stairs. I think it's a marketing strategy, they always put the best in the back so you go thru all the other stuff to get there, lol

This is a great farmers market. It has been running for a few years now. It is busyier during the fall and winter months. Crafts, food, plants, a knife sharpener, to name a few. Enjoy

I am a vendor at this market (Mugwumpers Mugs) and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys browsing a large variety of artists and fares. Coffee, produce, food, are all there to enjoy. The market runs from 9:00 to 1:00 every Wednesday and offers over 100 vendors. The drive from Tucson is pleasant, too. Bring your friends, your dog, and yourselves and enjoy a fun morning at the Green Valley Farmers Market at the Green Valley Village at Esperanza and I-19.

Sweet open air market with some surprises: locally grown mushrooms, handcrafted knives, fresh sprouts cut and bagged on the spot. I hoped to find flowers but no luck there. Plenty of food options, jewelry, and handicrafts, and a friendly, laidback vibe.

Nurturing Naturals smoothies has the best organic, non-gmo, all natural smoothies. They are packed with real fruits and vegetables and offer to make smoothies with coconut water. It's a nice nutricious treat packed with real fruits and they'll make with coconut water. I am glad to have them at the market.

Cholla Bay Area is a serene and calm destination, perfect for a peaceful getaway. The beach, although not suitable for swimming due to the abundance of stones, adds a unique charm to the place. Additionally, it is worth noting that most of the beach in this area is privately owned. Nonetheless, Cholla Bay offers a beautiful landscape and tranquility that makes it an ideal spot to spend a delightful day.
