Marietas Islands
Island
Nature & Parks
Uninhabited islands popular for tourist activities like whale watching, snorkeling & scuba diving.
Beautiful day trip. Snorkeling and site seeing. About an hour boat ride out. We were on a catamaran with a super friendly crew.
Jeff Biddy — Google review
The tour to Marietas Islands we took with Vallarta Adventures was OK, the only inconvenience was a long time to get there and back to Puerto Vallarta. We were only let into the water for snorkeling for ~30 min, but I was able to make a bunch of underwater images - the water was nice and clean, and lots of beautiful fish.
Eugene Khoruzhenko — Google review
Find a boat to take you here. This place is amazing. We kayaked near sea caves and the entrance to hidden Beach. Unforgettable.
Matt Miles — Google review
If you go to Puerto Vallarta don't miss the opportunity to explore this amazing place
ARMANDO ESPINOSA — Google review
The island is insanely beautiful. the water is so clear and blue. you can spot many tropical and colorful fish as well as schools of small fish. the rocks are volcanic and it’s very interesting to see the texture of them.
Mikaylah Ber — Google review
Snorkeling was so clear. Excellent crew.
Dumo Toranagasami — Google review
Just did the snorkel tour with Eco Tours! Rodrigo was great - very friendly & kept us all safe! Beautiful spot to see once in a lifetime. The swim to the cave is arduous and we had helmets on to protect from hitting our heads once in the cave. Had to hold our breath for 3secs to wait for the tide to go out then proceed to the beach. Plus we got to see humpbacks along our route to the islands!
Dinah Lee — Google review
amazing, a magical place you must visit, the best option to go there is from Punta de Mita
Brian Vanegas Parra — Google review
Be ware you have to swim to get into the hidden beach!
Kimmy Garris — Google review
We went whale watching for a day. It was fantastic & the crew was wonderful! What an incredible experience!
Jean Waid — Google review
We took the tour by boat. Really enjoyed the snorkelling, try to stay close to your team and remember your boat. The trip included breakfast , lunch and drinks. We also took kayaking, the wave was strong so had difficulty to stay close the boat.
Khairul Robin — Google review
It was breathtaking to see whales coming and going to the island .... yes you better be a good swimmer it's a challenge to get from your boat to the private beach...plus if your on a small boat bring your sunblock not much shade aboard...cool experience but not again.
david bussell — Google review
Wonderful visit. We toured the islands and snorkeled with Ecotours Vallarta. Beautiful rock formations, bird watching and snorkeling with water life.

Neat place! Pretty waters!
Amber Leigh — Google review
Unreal. This place is amazing, exclusive and with the new laws...well protected against ourselves to protect the wildlife. Tides, snorkeling and scenery are amazing. If you do go here, come with Vallarta Adventures!
Bj Woods — Google review
Amazing place to snorkel! Included in the Marieta Island Eco discovery tour with Vallarta Adventures.
My husband and I had so much fun with their horse ride at sunset. We absolutely loved it. The horses were well trained and calm, the guides were great (especially Carlos!), and they took great photos for us at the beach. Absolutely loved walking down the authentic streets of Mexico, too. We highly recommend it!
Heather Pilcher — Google review
Ruben and team were awesome! RZR tours in the Forest, mud, rivers and Sayulita! So cool! Stopped for pics and drinks along the way. Great day!!

Our family of 6 had a great time here. 2.5 hours of zip line with Ruben Fish and amigos. A short - 30 minute - break to eat and use the restroom, then 2 hours of horseback riding through Higuera Blanca, jungle, to the ocean and back with Pedro. Fernando the photographer went on both trips with us and was spectacular. Could not have asked for a better time, with better people. Many, many thanks 🙏.
Jeff Henson — Google review
Absolutely love this place. We were 2 adults and 2 kinds, 9 and 11. We did the horse tour which was absolutely fantastic. Our group was all different levels and our tour guide Ricardo was very friendly and provided an excellent experience for all of us from jungle, to town to seaside riding…. But that wasn’t all. The actual place was super cute and had different animals that were all well taken care of. All the staff were extremely friendly. Would definitely recommend and come back again.
Brittany Loewen — Google review
Horseback ride with Pedro was the highlight of our vacation. He was so calm and confident with the horses. He made our ride the most enjoyable. I would highly recommend.
Melody Stauffer — Google review
Highly recommend checking out their services. I did the Hiking Monkey Mountain and the staff were as wonderful as the views from the top! The facilities are spacious and accommodating. Charming restaurant on site. Lockers available to store your stuff.
Michele Kuwada — Google review
Not only was this place beautiful and spacious, but the zip lining was so much fun and the staff are so friendly!
Zip lines felt safe and were well worth it! Enjoying tacos with a tequila tasting after were a fun treat after too.
The estate is full of life, with a variety of animals and so much color. So happy with our visit and will definitely be returning next time we’re in town!
Kelsey Krustinger — Google review
We visited this excursion while here on vacation. The facilities are so beautiful and well maintained. Lots of birds and animals throughout the small park. The zip lining staff was so knowledgeable, so professional, and so fun. It was our first time zip lining, so I was nervous, but they calmed my fears easily because I could tell we were in safe hands. The zip lining views were incredible!!!
After, they have a Tequila tasting that was lead by a very joyous young man who made it so fun. I would HIGHLY recommend this adventure group for your excursions.
Amy Honeycutt — Google review
Carlos is a legend. Best horseback riding ever!!! I hate touristy things but this horseback riding experience was top notch. Ride through the jungle and then on the beach 🏖️
Derrick St.Clair — Google review
Absolutely one of the best places we have visited in Nayarit. The pickup spot was not far from where we stayed about 30min uber ride...the driver was really good he was there before our time (30 mins earlier). They had great customer service, and they greeted you once you got off the van. They show you around, and they explain everything to you. They have games for the kids to play while you wait... They have different animals you can see while walking around exploring. They have restrooms and a restaurant. They also have tequila tasting and different activities like ATV...zip line... horseback riding, and the place is beautiful. We had a private horseback riding tour, which was one of the most amazing experiences my husband and I could have. We left from the ranch they took us into the mountains... into a small town, and then we finished off racing our horses at the beach. I wish I could remember my Cowboys name but he had a pretty difficult name to remember it was really unique and different but he was amazing gave us good instructions gave us information about the town about the horses the beach and surrounding areas. Our cowboy was actually born and raised in the small town he took us into, which was a different but beautiful experience. His tour was definitely a 5 star. Everyone at the ranch spoke English and Spanish. The food at the ranch was absolutely delicious. My husband's not a fan of seafood, and he even loved it. If you're looking for a nice quiet place to spend quality time with your family, this is definitely the place you want to come to.
Zidas T — Google review
Spiterman and Freddy were excellent guides and their attitudes are awesome. They kept everything safe and at the same time fun and exciting. Summertime is hot, so if you go then, be prepared to sweat and get just a little bit of exercise on one specific trail.
Everyone at the ranch was incredibly friendly and helpful. From the moment we drove onto the property they were directing us to park under the trees in the shade. The check-in and pay process was simple and easy, too. Get the picture package and leave the photos to their on-site photographer.
We only did ziplines on this trip, but we'll back to do more the next time we visit Punta de Mita.
Thanks for a great time guys!
Happy Haole — Google review
Best team! We were so lucky. Our team included Pepe & Naff, they were quick to respond to any incident and were very informative with how to use the quads for the newbies. They showed us beautiful scenery and had a great sense of humor! Highly recommend this resort.
MUUUCH quieter than the main beach and the waves aren't as aggressive so swimming can be a little more enjoyable. Order a mojito from the bar as well. Lots of mint and super fresh.
MJ Glauvitz — Google review
Nice beach to come to, less people to relax and enjoy with family and friends. You can rent the chairs or bring your own.
You can rent a golf cart to get here but you can also walk from the hotel area, it's about 12 minute walk. You will have to pass the cemetery to get here, you'll know it's the right way. You can eat, drink and relax at this place.
If you're in the area, make this one of your stops.
Miguel Angel — Google review
Our favorite spot in Sayulita. You can rent two chairs and an umbrella for 300 pesos and have food and drinks delivered to you all day long. Beautiful beach, close to town and perfect if you want to swim and do not surf (which is our case) - lots of locals and families, we loved it !
Barbara Ragghianti — Google review
Great beach that is worth the effort to get here. Less crowded than main beach. Lots of shade and palm trees. This place looks exactly like what you think about when you think "tropical beach".
Bob Barnes — Google review
This beach feels like a private beach because it's between 2 rock formations. It feels very exclusive, the water is so beautiful, & warm. When I went there, there was not a lot of people. It doesn't get too crowded. At least not when I was there. There's a row of umbrellas with chairs, & you can rent them out for $300 pesos & you can also get seafood & drinks taken to your spot. I loved this beach. It was my favorite spot in Sayulita. I can't wait to go back. I miss the sound of the ocean waves & how peaceful the environment is. It was heavenly.
Victor Hugo Padilla — Google review
I feel silly for never having explored this little beach until a recent visit. Exceptionally clean and not crowded, with privacy to be found as well. Expensive but necessary beach bar at the entrance.
Cute walk there too. Parking for 50 cents if you drive.
Max Stanton — Google review
Beach was a good walk in Sayulita and literally have to walk through a cemetery to access the beach, hence the name Playa de los Muertos. Be prepared to pay in order to get some shade beneath your head. Restroom, which also you need to pay, were not desirable at all. So if you have kids, take a note of that. Beach was awesome though, not rocky and could walk pretty inwards.
Israel Chavez — Google review
Great alternative to the busy main beach in Sayulita. It’s a beautiful area with a sandy beach with a dedicated swim area that is surrounded by rock outcroppings.Short golf cart ride from town or a 15-20 minute walk, follow the bay around to the beach. It’s 100 pesos to park a golf cart or car, you have to pay to use the port o potty, there is also an area before the beach where you can buy beverages and snacks. The cemetery is very unique and colorful.
shaggy 505 — Google review
Small, lovely and quiet beach. There is a lifeguard and umbrella rentals available. It was not crowded and free of beach vendors. If walking, the dirt road goes through a small cemetery thus, the explanation of the beach name.
Nina North Murphy — Google review
A short walk from Sayulita you'll find this beautiful beach. The white sand beach has a roped off designated swimming area, but be mindful of the tides as the current might be too strong for novice swimmers.
There are rocks framing both sides of the beach with lush vegetation filling in behind the beach heading back inland.
Friendly vendors walk the beach. If you're in the mood for shrimp 🦐, a cool drink 🍹, or donuts?! 🍩, they have you covered. If you forgot your umbrella and chairs, or just don't want to bring your own, you're in luck! You can rent a spot right on the waters edge. Otherwise just set up wherever, just be respectful of folks who arrived before you 😉.
There are two primary ways to get to the beach. Google Maps will show you both, depending on how you plan to approach. For most people it's easiest to approach from Sayulita on foot. Walk the waterfront of the main beach, past the fishermen and follow the road until you get to the small hill up to the (beautiful) cemetery. Just follow the hill down and you can see the beach from there. If you want to drive, there is paid parking (Mex$100).
Tyler Townley — Google review
Defenetly the best beach from Sayolita. Bring your beers and snacks, you have there some vendors also. How you get there? Revolution street, make a right and keep the coast till villa amor, after that make a left next to the cemetery and down to the beach! Lovely place for pictures, good shade, nice people all around and the water is nice and clean...also the beach!
Playa Sayulita is a lively sandy expanse featuring numerous cafes and vendors, renowned locally for swimming and surfing. While the beach may be popular and crowded in certain areas, those seeking a more peaceful retreat can find solace by heading northwards. This location offers ample space to relax without being surrounded by large crowds of people. All in all, Playa Sayulita provides an enjoyable beach experience with options suitable for both socializing and finding some solitude.
Nice beach , abit crowdy so if you go up north you’ll find yourself a nice place to chill without a lot of people
rotem yaron — Google review
Busy beach with many seaside restaurants and folks selling souvenirs. We enjoys a snack and drinks and watching surf for about about an hour. We enjoyed it, but that was about our max for saying know to the sellers. Good people watching, lots of activity.
If you're looking for a relaxing beach, this isn't the one but it's lots of fun!
Maggie Pearthree — Google review
Actually a nice place to hang out but it’s ridiculous how dirty it gets. People leave the beach when it gets dark leaving their rubbish everywhere. Found used baby diapers 3 days in row at the beach.. I can’t unterstand why it it so difficult to many to just take your stuff with you.
Laura — Google review
Have to say, this is one of the biggest scams I encountered. Sayulita itself and the beach as the main point, are super dirty, noisy and full of rubbish. The beach isn’t walkable (many stone and also construction materials on the beach), there are beers cans and cigarette butts all around. There is literally sewage (“water treatment facility”) that is flowing in the middle of the beach and it smells.
The reason you see/read such good “news” about Sayulita is because some people who work if the tourism industry here (surf shops, hotels, influencers, etc) publish great articles with photoshopped photos in specific angles, to make it like heaven on earth, so people like you and me will come to spend their money here.
But once you come here, you will be super disappointed, though most of you already booked a flight and paid for a hotel, so you can’t absorb the financial damage and go somewhere else. So you will stay here for a few days, maybe a week, post some photos with filters and in an angle that can’t see the garbage, cause you want your Instagram “friends” to be jealous and play into this scam. But if you can, leave, or better don’t even come.
Dan Antonov — Google review
A bit rocky at places and crowded with chairs and parasols. It’s a great place for surf but it can also be crowded with surfers.
The québécois Traveler — Google review
This surfing village is a great for surfer and watch the waves. Some waves get quite big. Swimming area isn’t so big and many people enjoys for high waves. North side is a bit rocky.
Reserving beach chair is a bit pricy and it is a busy beach. The wave is definitely a big attraction here.
Daisuke Ueda — Google review
I didn’t have a lot of time to spend at this beach but took a quick stroll while checking out the town. The sand was soft and the beach was pretty clean and not too crowded. There was lots of vendors and places to eat.
Donald hood — Google review
This is a great "local feel"beach and our family loves it here. We like to stick to the northeast part of the beach past the mouth of the Sayulita River. Past the river the crowds thin out and its easy to find a place to just plop down in the sand and watch the day go by. Be sure to learn about rip currents before swimming here, or else talk to the lifeguard and ask what you need to be aware of. The rip currents here are frequent and fairly strong. If the tide is out the rocks are full of little tide pools with lots of life to check out. Once you have enjoyed the sunset head into town for a great dinner and really fun shopping.
Todd Mathewson — Google review
It is a small surf town with a rustic environment. The reviews
could be the equivalent of the saying "if the music is too loud you may be too old". I went 30 years late but enjoyed a sunny day.
Ricardo Rodriguez — Google review
Nice enough beach, but when we visited in October, at the end of the rainy season, we found that there was a significant amount of trash in the water and on beach. Water also had more sediment and wood - probably due to recent rains. Not as well kept as Puerto Vallarta. Beach chairs are for rent and do not come with a minimum spend from the restaurants. The town is lovely.
Roy Haggerty — Google review
It's an OK beach. The waves are nice but during the holidays it gets very busy and dirty. There's also a river that flows through town and empties onto the beach. Not so much when it's the dry season, but it smells like sewage and should be avoided.
Andrew Baker — Google review
If you’re a pirate you might like this beach. Super hippy, very local, the beach has a lot of rubbish. Be careful where you swim because the city river runs right into the beach bringing lots of waste. Cool live music everywhere. Very hippy, young, surfer kind of beach. The water was not great for swimming as it is very powerful and better for surfing. The beach sand is also very rocky and gravelly. Fun for a day. Might not be for everyone.
Devin Tahuahua — Google review
Consistent waves. Not really beginner friendly unless you book lessons. La Lancha has smaller waves that are more beginner friendly with surf board rentals at $30/day! Book online!
The property is rich in color and plant life. The pools are abundant and the collection of Restaurants, well its double digit. Perscisley 30. I've oboe experienced about 6 of the restaurant's. The food is tasty and priced well.
Madeline C. — Google review
The beach is way ample, nice sand and good that there aren't many beach sales people. Sunsets are great looking, very secluded if you wack few hundred meters south towards river Ameca, waves are not large and it's shallow so swimming in the ocean is possible. Downturn is that Vidanta keeps you "locked" in to consume only in their restaurants which are extremely expensive even compared to the US. Great place at for photoshots and family time!
Humberto Mendoza — Google review
Nice long beach with Puerto Vallarta in the back drop. Good place for sunset with a sandbar. The resort is also close and easy to access from here. Once on the beach the sand isn't the best and the amenities are limited. But it's just a nice large beach.
Joshua Kaminski — Google review
Awful, Awful, Awful experience. 23 pools but if you stay at the Mayan palace you can only go to 1 pool, happens to be the pool everybody goes to, even if they have access to all pools. In 7 days we could not sit within arms reach of our small children because every chair was taken by someone 60+ reading a book around the shallow kids pool. Cannot buy day passes for the kids to play at the kids centre, no lazy river, no water slide. First family vacation ever for my 5 and 7 year old kids and I have never been more dissapointed, we will not return to Vidanta EVER! I Will also share my experience with everyone I know so that other families do not spend money on a vacation and end up as dissapointed as us. In another 5 years, once we can afford a vacation again, we will go anywhere but here. VIDANTA YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES 💔
Talia Lafond — Google review
I wanna start off by saying that the grounds are beautifull, there's a lot of bamboo everywhere, it's so pretty I feel like it's easier to access everything at this Vidanta compared to the one in Cancun. Every worker we encountered during our stay was so nice and helpful, they deserve a raise! We stayed at the Grand Bliss and that lobby is so pretty. Every restaurant we ate at was delicious. Getting a taxi to go back and forth from the resort and the Malecon was super easy and inexpensive. The most we paid was like $45 but that's because there was 11 of us and we had to get a van. The only complaint I have is that the sheets smelled dingy, and I know it's because of the humidity. My Mom stayed at the Grand Mayan and she had the same issue. Maybe they need to stay in the dryer longer to get all the moisture out. We did not access the beach from the resort because the tide was so far and there's crocodiles. We saw one in the canal at the Malecon. And the day we went sailing we saw a shark...no thank you! I will admire the Puerto Vallarta Beach from a distance...lol. I recommend the resort, its family friendly and beautiful. There's so many activities do to if you don't want to venture out.
V Garcia — Google review
Resort had its good and bad. Lush greenery with excessive walking between pools, restaurants and other. We had a full paid vacation but once we began checking in they hard pressed us to do the time share presentation, once we declined the 2 bedroom condo we received had a great view (see attached photos). All and all it was a mediocre stay. We wouldn’t recommend.
Jay Davis — Google review
Overall it’s a nice looking resort, but way too big for my liking. Check in was a nightmare, 4 hours, as our room wasn’t ready till 7:15pm. We were in an ocean view 2 bedroom for 14 nights in the Grand Mayan Copan. I’m not sure how many guests the resort holds, but I was told there’s 8000 employees and covers 3000 acres at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta. There is a golf cart/bus service to take you from place to place on the resort, but it’s not real clear on which cart to take to what destination. The grounds are well kept. The rooms are good. The food is way over priced for the mediocre quality. It’s good, but no better than a lot of all inclusive resorts. I get the feeling that they believe if they charge more, people will think they’re getting more!! The food store on site is also way over priced as compared to off site, Mega, El Comer or Walmart. Being a non all inclusive resort, everything is cost plus. Example: to rent a boogie board at the beach is $300 pesos for 1 hour. To buy a boogie board at Walmart was $300 pesos. We bought at Walmart and left it behind when we left for home. With the resort being so large, to get off the resort is not easy or cheap. To take a taxi anywhere ($380 pesos minimum), and the only way to walk off the resort is via the beach to the north, which takes you to the marina where there are more reasonably priced Resteraunts.
Now for the TIME SHARE presentation. They say it’s not a time share, but it’s a time share. They say it’s 1 hour, but it’s 4 hours. They start at $140,000 U.S. and after 3.5 hours they’re down to $5,000 for the same 2 bedroom. Of course there’s no maintenance fees, instead they charge $1,500 per week to stay there, once you bought??? Makes no sense to me, but time shares don’t make sense to me. Pay for a holiday you haven’t taken, nor may never take??
And we encountered the same rules here as other resorts which is: there are different rules for different people. We were told by security that we weren’t allowed to have our soft sided cooler on the beach or at the pools, yet there were people all around that had the same coolers. We were told to either take it to our room or they would confiscate it. Wow!
Overall, it’s not a bad place, but for me I’d sooner be at a much smaller resort.
I will not be returning to any of the Vidanta Resorts.
PS: read some reviews on the Vidanta time share tactics and on going lawsuits in regards to the time shares, and if you still feel compelled to buy, GOOD LUCK!

We have been coming to the one in cancun for years. This year we decided to come to the one in puerto vallarta and the service has been horrible. All the employees are extremely rude. Servers are always with a mad face when you ask them for anything. They complain if you ask them to split the check. EXTREMELY RUDE STAFF.
alexis couttolenc — Google review
Unprofessional staff, check-in process lied about free/discounts at the restaurants. Attended the presentation and they were upset we didn’t buy into the membership. We were denied our promised 7 night free stay for a later date. Janitorial staff was upset when we called to have the trash can exchanged. It had a strong, fishy odor that stunk the entire room. Overall not worth visiting. Entire place is runned down and they do not seem to want to re-invest. I’m sure staff is unpleasant and unprofessional due to their lack of compensation. Steer away from this place, there are plenty of other resorts worth staying at. Good luck!

Beach was lovely to hang out at all day. Service was great too.
Martha Nefcy — Google review
A wonderful resort getaway with top notch amenities. Golf, relaxing, great food, and craft margaritas were part of the daily activities. The staff is warm and welcoming!
Lynn Luczkowski — Google review
Nice place to stay and enjoy the mix of luxury and nature. One fellow said "This is like a Jurassic Park resort". Night Par 3 Golf, nice restaurants.
Vidanta should take care of the cleaning of the walking path "outside of the property along the Ameca River"
Please instruct the children to use their sandals when going to the sea, the sand is always hot, seeing children cry because their feet burn is not pleasant.
Better photos of the resort in other reviews.

A friend and I stayed in the Grand Luxxe Tower #4 and it was EXCELLENT. Everything about the while property was more than we'd ever experienced. Now, unexpectedly, we own there and plan to enjoy different places to stay, while at Vidanta. We were there for hurricane Lidia (Category 4) and felt VERY SAFE. They do have a special shelter as well. The staff were always helpful and there are many projects going on. Even a theme park, pro golf courses, etc. Once on the Vidanta property, there is never sa need to leave. It's all there or they shop for what you need. It's MAGNIFICENT, so go and enjoy it!!!
M Smith — Google review
Ah, let me regale you with the tale of my escapade to the resort of wonders, nestled in the bosom of nowhere! Picture this: a place so remote you'd need a map, a compass, and possibly a search party to find your way back to civilization. And once you arrive, oh dear traveler, prepare yourself for a rollercoaster of delights and disappointments!
Firstly, let's talk transport. Forget about hailing a trusty Uber; here, we're at the mercy of the resort's chariots of extortion—er, I mean, taxis. And boy, do they know how to charge! It's like they've invented their own currency where instead of dollars, you pay in your firstborn child.
Now, onto the check-in saga. You'd think they'd hand you a golden ticket upon arrival, but no! It's like a scavenger hunt for information. Want a map app? Too bad, you'll have to decode the secret message hidden in your room's wallpaper to find that gem. It's like they're playing a game of "hide and seek," and guess who's always it? Spoiler alert: it's you!
And the perks! Oh, the promised perks! Complimentary drinks? More like complimentary disappointment. Discounts? Ha! You'll need a magnifying glass to find those. And don't even get me started on the sales pitch. It's like being stuck in a never-ending infomercial. "But wait, there's more!" they cry as you slowly lose the will to live.
Let's not forget the logistical nightmare of trying to access those elusive discounts upon checkout. It's like trying to crack a safe with a toothpick. And speaking of hidden fees, remember those government charges? Yeah, they conveniently forgot to mention those until you're already knee-deep in debt.
And don't even get me started on the prices! $450 pesos for a shot of Mark Wahlberg's tequila? Does it come with a personal serenade from the man himself? Because if not, I'll pass, thanks.
And as if all that wasn't enough, they dangle the tantalizing temptation of a discounted timeshare in front of your weary eyes. But if you have to go through one ... choose Jose Luis. He was good.
In conclusion, dear reader, if you're considering a trip to Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta, I suggest you pack your sense of humor, a sturdy pair of walking shoes, and possibly a therapist on speed dial.

i was there this week and it was amazing, the attention to detail is insane. If you get a chance book the Heart of the House tour its free but you have to book 3 months in advance it gives you an inside look at how the resort operates , they have tunels under the resort !!! the chocolate is all made there its just crazy i called it the hive because all the wqorkers are busy little antz all day long . You appreciate the service even more . The room at the grand luxxe was more than enough room for me and my girlfriend with a jacuzi and a balcony facing the ameca river with ocean views and a view of puerto vallarta. If you get a chance vist Vidanta world the theme park under construction but they have some of the park already open and its like 60usd per person but deff worth it amazing theme park rides and attractions , water and light show, and a amazing ritual show at sundown to say goodbye to the sun , just loved the entire experience , Cesar our guide was the best ive had at a tour and by far the best resort ive been to including in the US , the luxury and service in uncompared unless your a karen then yeah
Very very pretty island! 300 pesos round trip, we took a boat from Alicia’s restaurant which was easy. We left at 11 on a Monday so it wasn’t too busy. If you go to the far left when you arrive you will be in shade the whole time and won’t need a pricey umbrella.

Beautiful tiny beach. The water is very clear.
I 100% recommend you bring snacks, lunch, water, sodas, and an umbrella.
They rent tables with umbrellas on the beach for $300.00 pesos and next to the beach for $250.00
There's no electricity on this island, so there are no fridges. They sell some snacks, beer, and sodas.
Not recommend for people with walking problems.

Great place to hang out for a few hours or the day. We saw lots of different fish while snorkelling (equipment available to rent), enjoyed lunch up at the restaurant and it was a nice boat ride to see the bay from a different vantage point. Would do again!

Bring your cooler and your snorkeling gear. Definitely worth checking out and spending a couple hours to relax and enjoy the clear water. The beach is small and sometimes has strong currents on both ends of the beach kids and weak swimmers be cautious and stay in the middle of the beach. Sitting is limited. Great play for beginners to snorkel.

Amazing place, I was very impressed, this place is unique ✨, water super warm, also guys from the boat are super friendly and informative! They charge you 400 pesos or $20 to take you there. I highly recommend visiting this place because you'll fall inlove with it. You can rent umbrella, chairs, and table for $15 or 300 pesos, they have a restaurant in there. 🐟🌸💗🐠👀

We took a tour and paid 2100 pesos for 9 people. Our tour guide was Enrique. He was very nice and fun! We were dropped off at the island at about noon and we’re picked up a few hrs later. Place was busy. There is a restaurant but a bit pricey. We had ceviche. Snacks available for purchase. Table and chairs available for rent 300 pesos. The water is clear but very rocky. Waves are pretty strong here too. Not very safe for little ones. Would come back but more prepared with water shoes.

Its a beautiful island for which you need a short boat ride from guayabitos beach.
Visit during weekdays so you will enjoy much more.
Try to find a better deal from the boat operaters who offer boat rides to the island.
Island is maintained well and has a restaurant which serves food and drinks and has some tables in shade on the beach. Hotel has a washroom as well but it is not maintained at all.
Water is clear and it is a fun experience to snorkel. There is designated area to swim which has plenty of fishes and corals.
Try to take some snacks and umbrella for shade if you are not going to use the hotel facility.
You can also spot whales during Dec-Mar month so try to visit during that time.

Loved the island. The water is crystal and you can see the sea life. My kids loved it here. The boat ride was amazing and safe. Can't wait to go there again.

Playa Hermosa, 63740 San Blas, Nayarit, Mexico
I'll never travel to Guadalajara without this trip planner again
The pier known as Muelle de Playa Los Muertos, in Playa del Carmen, offers tourists a sleek contemporary design with picturesque coastline views. It is accessed by water taxis which will take visitors to nearby beaches such as Yelapa, Quimixto, or Mismaloya.
This is a hub for Water Taxis and Fishing trips. It's busy but a tourist viewing platform with seats is higher up and wheelchair accessible!
We actually fish off the lower part of the pier and give the fish away to locals and children! Tons of fun and lits of restaurants around the area!
Jason P Ryan — Google review
A great place to watch the sun set and hang around to just people watch too! Then plenty of restaurants all around to enjoy!
Michael McVige — Google review
A nice view point to see along the coast. It's also a great spot for families to come and cool off in the sea.
Work was being done to repair parts of the pier so you couldn't get access to all of it, but it was still great to go and see.

Good place to see Puerto Vallartas. Beach is usually not busy at all. A lot of people pass by, but most end up leaving doing a bit of sightseeing. Some people fish towards the bottom.

The iconic Pier is where you can catch a water taxi to the southern beaches, get on a fishing boat, or watch the sunset over the bay. Beautiful!
Susan Hetrick — Google review
The bridge is falling apart, the food we had was below average, the drinks were EXPENSIVE WITH LITTLE TO A DROP OF ALCOHOL IN THEM. The beach its self is nice, but we had our snorkeling and waterfall trips canceled so we paid $60 USD to sit at a beach that only offered benches to sit on. I do not recommend this tour. The way there the female staffer spoke for nearly 40 minutes straight! Over the loud speakers so we couldn’t even enjoy the ride over. The only fun time was on the way back and they had karaoke which was the highlight of a 8 hour day!

A big monument and lookout area in a delightful and lively beach. Playa Los Muertos is a city beach, where locals and tourists alike can go to enjoy some time on the sand. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and the muelle offers a great meeting point and place to watch the many small boats navigate around the bay.

One of the most beautiful place in Puerto Vallarta, you can go eat, walk around, buy stuff, take a boat or just enjoy the beach and swim.
Be careful with people selling you stuff, and pay an extra attention to your stuff when you are there.
You can also take boat from here as taxi to go a remote place towards the south

Such a wonderful attraction in Puerto Vallarta. Right on the Malecon at the beach, this is a great view point. There are very nice sunsets from here and a popular place for locals to dive off of. Nice place for swimming and a great place to get your vacation pictures. It is a busy pier but big enough that you can find yourself a place on the rail to people watch. A must see when you are in PV

2024-04 The Los Muertos Beach Pier is an unstill work of art.
The pier juts out into shallow ocean surf and makes a loop around the central statue. The sculpture has a semi-circle of LED spotlights that can change color to help create an active illumination display.
Another thing that makes for an addicting place to relax are the swirling surf ebbing and flowing through and around the steel pipes that make up the sculpture.
The walkway around the sculpture has a large amount of seating for those who wish to take a pause.
The pier does extend further past the sculpture and descends nearer the water to accomodate fishing and perhaps boat access.
When lit up, the Pier is a beloved landmark.
Lit or unlit, it is not to be missed.
Phillip South — Google review
They have been working extensively on the pier providing upgrades which were needed. Benches were broken and railings in disrepair but the city of Puerto Vallarta is working hard and it appears almost complete. A great place to come and watch the kids fish or jump off into the water. Just a great place to chill out and find your Zen.

Beautiful beach. Great vibe. Lively. We started walking from Malecon to find more interesting to see in Puerto Vallarta. The Catholic Church's most iconic and recognizable structure is the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The church is crowned by a Renaissance-style tower, and hosts an annual festival with a colorful parade. The bells chiming before mass time are also distinctive.
The church is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2022. It offers daily services in Spanish that all are welcome to attend. We were impressed by the unique crown at the top of the tower. When you visit, also go to see the gazebo and courtyard nearby. It's a great spot to sit, relax and people watch.

I could see the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe before walking up the hill. The church and the area are bustling. Many stores and street vendors sell gifts and souvenirs in the area. But the minute I walked into the church. It became solemn and tranquil. Everyone respected the church. The Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe is beautiful. I like the surrounding area as well.

Average looking church, inside and outside. If you were to put this church in Paris, Rome, Florence or Mexico City, you would walk right by it without noticing it. It is a working church so mass does take place, hence you should be respectful of the worshippers. Located in the central part of town, three blocks from the beach. There are some souvenir shops in front along with a few restaurants. This is a place you visit once, and not come back, despite it being a major landmark in Puerto Vallarta.

While this is a tourist attraction, this is still an active cathedral for the locals to worship. I got a sense that the tourists, including myself, weren't conscientious of this. I felt a little disrespectful taking photos, but I did it as quietly and non intrusive as possible... 🙏

Beautiful interior. Each station had a QR code that appears to allow you to read more. However, you are prompted to pay for an audio tour. Based on the size of the church, it may not be a long tour. The church has not been maintained. Sadly, another lovely Catholic Church that has not been maintained and the Catholic diocese / the Vatican provide little to not financial support to maintain their assets, which are worth millions worldwide.

Zona Romántica is a fashionable locality that boasts of vibrant expat and LGBT bars, in addition to restaurants offering international cuisine. The area features charming patio cafes and modern art galleries situated alongside cozy hotels on cobblestone roads. A famous attraction in the region is Los Muertos Beach that attracts both tourists and locals who can relish its wide, curved pier illuminated at night time.
Restaurant El Malecón is located near the Malecon Beach in Puerto Vallarta. The beach is not popular for swimming, but it offers a beautiful sunset spot and is filled with street performers, vendors, and vibrant colors. We had delay in some food order, but they didn’t charge us for that and we got this part for free. That’s a real client orientation. On the top of that - the seafood is fantastic and fresh, ocean view and the birds (pelicans?) are fantastic 🤩 Totally recommend this place.

Very disappointing. I rarely leave reviews but this place was just so bad. I’ve had way better seafood at Red Lobster hundreds of miles inland to give ya an idea of how bad. My margarita was so bad I had to have them take it back—tasted like aspartame from sugar substitute or something. The breaded shrimp that I ordered was both soggy and burnt at the same time. It had more of a chicken texture than shrimp. The service was decent and the outdoor seating in the back is by the beach and nice.

We were at Restaurant El Malecon the other night. They have a large selection of sauces at the table. And then they bring out chips with more sauces. After that we shared a guacamole. My wife then had the tortilla soup and shrimp tacos, while I had the mummy shrimp. Overall the food was good as was the service. The prices are certainly Malecon and beach side prices. There was a live duet playing music and singing and they were pretty good. But the main reason for eating here is the spectacular view as we watched the sunset over the ocean. In the end that is what you are paying for.

My review works best for vessel based visitors. That said we have been visiting this area since 2013. There are several palapa restaurants on the Las Islitas road. You can come by boat, car or taxi or collectivo taxi. From San Blas it is only 15 minutes or so. From anchor in the bay, aim for the big green building on the beavh. We like to visit Varo and Alicia at Playa Hermosa restaurant. It's just west of the big green building. A hint is to sit at a table up by the kitchen to avoide the jejenes, a little... Food and drinks are excellent! (Shrimp cevichi, huevos rancheros, platanos con lechera). You are dining in a little piece of paradise!

The building is amazing and the guy receiving us was awesome and helped us not hate our stay. We went for Valentine’s Day and the place run out of electricity during the night, the worker was gone to turn on the electric plant. The fireplace in the room has the pilot off and we had to sleep cold. We didn’t get the WiFi password so we didn’t have any service to let him know the power was gone. The next morning the restaurant was closed for the day that I wish I would know since the website promotes this nice restaurant. Also the 14th we thought about going to el general steak house and they closed that day as well. We felt it was a waste of money since we could not enjoy the hotel amenities and the restaurants were closed.

He claims he can't find the charge even though it's clearly posted on my bank statement that I sent to him as prof.

A hidden treasure. Entrance not marked, you needed to know where to go. Entire site clean and well maintained. A knowledgeable guide who could explain the structures and share Aztec history would be welcome. Come prepared with comfortable shoes and sun hat or umbrella. It will be amazing to see this place in ten years if there is appropriate funding. Right now, anyone can walk in and wander and pick up shards or obsidian artifacts. There were two women who were maintaining the site. Unfortunately, no security.

I am traveling all over Mexico now the 4th week, but Ithis was the most attractive historical place so far I have visited.
Besides the mindblowingly beautiful historical findings I simply adored the dedication and the huge knowledge from the young tour guides (kindest people I have met so far! - I mean it! Dear Mexican people: please learn some good manners from these guys! 😉) , the content, the arficacts, everything.... The whole site is wonderfully looked after , and it is literally history is being explored right in front of your eyes.
I feel honoured and humbled that I had a chance to explore this wonderful place. Thank you.

Absolutely stunning! This Pre-Classic site is about an hour's drive out of Guadalajara and is well worth it. There's a carpark, toilets and a museum, which is very interesting. Had an artist go through some of the interactive elements in the museum, which was fascinating. Then I had a guide, which I don't normally do, but thought it useful. There is a walk up the hill to the site, so be ready. It is quite steep at parts but is paved. Once you reach the top, prepare to be amazed.
The ages of the tombs/temples increase as you go round and there could still be more to be found, as the largest one remains unexcavated. There are signs and maps so you can figure out where to go if you are on your own. The views from here are stunning too and in the background lies the Tequila volcano.
Can be done with a visit to Tequila and highly recommend stopping in Teuchitlan for a walk about.

Really beautiful. We did not understand how much there is to do there. We did not have much time as we needed to catch a flight in GDL so we will be returning soon with the family for a 2 day weekend. The last photo is from the web but it's what motivated us to go there. Lovely tourist puebla with 2 Balenarios.

Precolonnial unique round pyramids!
A short but steep hike up - a ride is an option, but it was totally manageable. We hired a guide, and he was worth every peso. After we walked, we went into the museum near the parking lot. They played a short documentary for us in English - they had just run in Spanish immediately before.
I found this place super interesting and worth the drive from Aijijic.

This site was amazing. Get a guide who knows the area to take you on a tour. You have to arrange this ahead of time but if you ask enough people you'll be able to find someone. Our guide worked in excavation at the site for 20+ years so he knew what made it special and he shared culturally significant information. The museum was good but we definitely got to see the inside works by having a guide.
Tip: if you're not in decent shape, or if you're traveling with young children or older adults, ask at the museum about getting a ride to the site. It's not a long walk but it's very steep, there's no shade, and nowhere to sit down.

Zona arqueologica Teuchitlan or Guachimontones is a beautiful archeological place. When I went there were not many tourists and we had the hole place almost to ourselves. It was very peaceful.
We arrived on bus from Guadalajara and ate at a small restaurant near the bus station. Then we walked up a hill to go to the archeological site. You can also go up in a vehicle. It is quite an up hill walk, and we got tired, but it was worth it. I left some videos of the archeological site. There were some very nice views out on the horizon. They also have a small museum at the archeological site. They also have a sort of nature trail that you can walk through, which was nice. Be sure to take sunblock if it is a sunny day and a sun hat.

A great day trip from Guadalajara to learn about the history of the area and the people. Good to go on a cool day as there is a small walk. A great museum on site.

Arrived Saturday at 4pm and it was plenty of time to explore. $30MX per adult. There are very clean bathroom facilities by the parking and an air conditioned museum that presents a 15 minute documentary. Highly recommend to go in the museum before walking to the pyramids. There is a 15 minute incline walk up to the pyramids, be warned. Wear comfortable shoes and depending on the time of day it can get really hot.
It was very interesting and it deserves a visit.

What happened here? Who built this place? Why are we just finding it? It’s a great site with mysteries we may never know. As as the excavations continue, perhaps we will learn one day. Not an easy trek to get up the hill, so if you’re not expecting that, it could ruin the whole experience. (And use the bathroom ! There is not one at the top). Be sure to use a guide on site. I
We discovered Casa Sauza by accident, and it was a fantastic experience. The grounds and garden are immaculate, and the ambiance is peaceful and serene. We felt and were treated like royalty by the staff, and the food and drinks were amazing. We started with house made salsa and chips, and I ordered a Sauza margarita rimmed with Tajin. Next, we ordered a tuna tartare dish and a wrapped tuna dish that touched every sensory signal on our taste buds. Lord willing, I will be back very soon. The next time, I will plan on spending two full days in this Pueblo Magico. I feel like we just touched the surface of this town, and there are many memories left to be made!

This place is an absolute gem that's shine is only outmatched by the staff that run it.
I had my wedding here in October of 2023. I was traveling from the US and was doing everything virtually, with no planning or prepping in person. And IRMA DID THE THING!
She was INCREDIBLE to work with! It was like she could read my thoughts and everything was better and more magical than I ever could have imagined. I would get married here a million times over if I could. Such a wonderful experience all around.

Such a fun experience of how tequila is made. If you go with the elite group, they will bring you to special places to show you the family reserves which are very interesting to know too. Brilliant! 100% don't miss!!
So many sites on the internet say this place is only open certain days. If the review you read is more than 5 minutes old l, forget it. This town is evolving and distilleries like this are pretty much open everyday. Just show up and ask for a tour.
I have been to Mexico about 20 times and my favorite thing is to visit small unique towns. Tequila is an incredible place if you want authentic Mexican culture, food, kind people, and good vibes. But this town has one extra thing, tequila!!!
La Rojeña is where the José Cuervo magic happens. The tour is completely informative, explaining the tequila making process in detail, and at the end (if you pay the extra pesos for the tasting package, a MUST in my opinion) you get a view into tequila flavors and nuance that I never knew existed! Trust me, stop reading this review and just go there! The tasting at the end is amazing!
It was absolutely brilliant! Our guide (sorry, can't remember her name) was perfect. At each stop, though the factory is loud, she had a mic connected to Bose speakers so you could hear every word (I did the English speaking tour).
At the end you can buy special made tequilas at factory prices. Absolutely no pressure to buy, but a good deal all the same!
I am fairly cynical when it comes to touristy things, this is a 100% don't miss!!!

My significant other and I walked in the Recepción Venta De Boletos and ended up purchasing the Experiencia Clásica for the tour of La Rojeña. The Precio / Price was $315MXN for each person. It wasn’t too bad and I figured this would be the best place to do my first tequila tour.
The tour started by us sitting down to watch the history of the company on a large screen. It was in Spanish, but it had English subtitles. It was maybe around 15 minutes and gave a good background of their company. When it was over, our tour guide greeted us to continue our experience.
He took us through the entrance to La Rojeña. We were shown tequila in the Ordinario, also known as Ordinary form. We weren’t able to taste it, but we were able to smell it. It was strong! The bottle that was near that one was the Blanco, also known as White. This tequila was the Tradicional Plata. We were able to taste this one. It had a nice warmth to it. It was good quality in my opinion.
Not long after, we approached a barrel area. We got to try the 6 Meses, 12 Meses, and 18 Meses forms of tequila. The 6 Meses was the Tradicional Reposado. The 12 Meses and 18 Meses were both the Tradicional Añejo. I enjoyed all of them in a different way.
Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. He explained everything tremendously.
Overall, the tour of La Rojeña was an excellent experience! I would love to visit again someday!

There is a sweet scent in the air. It was Friday night and there was a mass taking place. There was a woman who was leading the worship. It appeared to me that most everyone present was a local.
The building itself is beautiful , it does have much character and some of the imperfections give it much of its patina.

Awesome park with family/or amigos. Pretty big spacious park with themes, pretty awesome water slides and low pool with waves.
Across are some picnic tables under shade, so if you go bring food, even meat to grill. Just take into account these are natural warm springs areas so the water is slightly warm, not so refreshing but still feels good to cool off a bit. The water slides bit rough but that’s common water slides. Various sizes, and steepness. There’s a store for basic food items and dressing rooms in case you didn’t wear bathing suit upon arrival with showers for afterwards. Just make sure you don’t wait till last minute cause of the long lines!!
Overall, satisfied with my experience since there’s ramps and pretty easy to move around with my minor mobility issues. I think most expensive out of water parks here, but with most diverse attractions and space. They close at 6 and turn off water almost immediately.
It was nice to return after my childhood memories

The Akron Stadium is a large sports arena mainly employed for football matches and serves as the home base of the Club Deportivo Guadalajara. It's also renowned for putting on spectacular shows, like Coldplay concerts. However, visitors should be aware that public transportation in the area is insufficient, leading to heavy traffic as most people opt to drive themselves there.
Beautiful stadium! The food choices and quality for concessions are well priced and of good quality. The public transport options aren't too varied, something to keep in mind when attending high volume events like a concert and planning ahead.

I went for the Coldplay concert and it was incredible. The security organization was bad, each security member had different information. And as usual with every event here, getting put was a nightmare, it took us like 2 hours.
Priscila Ponce — Google review
This a great stadium to go visit and watch a sporting event. The area it's in is in the middle of nowhere but that's a good thing because the roads are plenty big and traffic flows nicely unlike the small, terrible city roads. Plenty, plenty of parking, that's FREE which is the best part about it. Plenty of security, police presence and very organized upon crowd control and moving people into the stadium. Inside the stadium is nice, they have actual food inside that you can eat on, a great selection of food, drinks of course and plenty of snacks once inside the stadium and in your seat. I love the fact that there's TONS of bathrooms around the stadium, definitely no shortage of those. Aesthetically it's a cool looking stadium, looks like a UFO from afar and the design is awesome. Overall, awesome stadium for any event being held there and definitely worth checking out.

I attended an event during the morning and afternoon. Bathrooms are readily available in every exit. There's also television monitors in the restroom so you won't miss a thing. They have food places inside including tacos and coffee (Flor de Cordova). I did not like the sewer smell of the restrooms, but this might be a country problem rather than a stadiun problem. The Stadium management does have to work on providing more car exits as it took 40 minutes to drive 4 kilometers. I cannot imagine what it's like to be stuck in traffic during a major event. There's 2 huge monitors on the North and South side of the Stadium in case you want a close up view of the event. I sat close to the last row and still had good visibility of the event.

The Templo Expiatorio del Santísimo Sacramento is a beautiful, historic church located in the heart of Guadalajara. It is well worth a visit for its dramatic Gothic-style architecture and impressive stained glass windows. The temple is open daily from 07:00 to 21:00 and visitors are charged for admission.
Gothic architecture, activities around it, dancing people, artists. Let the music pierce your heart. Of course, we should not forget to travel by electric carriage. You can’t really beat this Neo-Gothic marvel anywhere in the Americas that I’ve seen. Impeccably built about 100 years ago to match the great gothic cathedrals of Europe. For a second, you could be in medieval England or France. Free time enter, take off your hat and respect worshippers.

I love The Expiatorio it's rich with history about it's struggle to be built, several times it changed architectures for reasons of destiny. The clock is German made; curiously on the hour the clock chimes 25 songs and at the same time little door's open and figurines of the Apostles comes out and makes a half circle and then go back in the other door.
Built in the Gothic style the columns inside are so beautiful and there are many of them. The stained glass windows and towers are awesome, and the craftsmanship is fantastic. I highly recommend that you explore this church.
There's under ground parking.

The impressive cathedral in the heart of Guadalajara is a centuries-old building made up of a mix of architectural styles. The towers are iconic and locals are proud of its architecture, which dates back to 1854.
So beautiful to just sit on the benches and watch the sun go down behind the cathedral. Guadalajara is beautiful! The streets are so busy, and there are merchants everywhere. The architecture is stunning. Not many cafes in the center through. I probably wouldn’t stay all day in the center around the cathedral, a few hours max. Thanks for hosting someone from the USA 🇺🇸❤️

Beautiful cathedral that is the center of attraction in Centro. Beautiful architecture, lovely service during Christmas Eve. A must visit.

Church is beautiful inside out. So much history and streets are clean and well kept. The architecture alone is impeccable, but what's truly stood out was the glass windows and paintings throughout.

Beautiful old Building. It is wonderful to see the history of the area. It still is amazing how people built those things without modern equipment. It was nice to have a local explain all of the buildings history to me. I have been there probably 10 times already. I'm sure I will be back. It is also close to San Juan De Dios for some great shopping!

Beautiful building inside and out. The story of the Child Saint was very heart breaking. I thought the body there was just fake but no, it's real! The history of the cathedral its self is pretty wild. How it fell apart from like 3 earthquakes.

Very famous attraction and for good reason. This cathedral is gorgeous - both on the inside and outside. It's in the heart of the centre, with plenty to do around. I would recommend going inside to feel the history in the air!

La Catedral de Guadalajara is really nice. We went on a special event where they had lights and shows surrounding the area. The music and social event made the place super special. It is truly amazing piece of architecture.

I grab a frappe and sit in the park every day, to take a break from working at home.
I wonder how they ever did such precise and beautiful architecture hundreds of years ago, just using eyes and hands.

In my opinion, one of the most beautiful Cathedrals in the world. Especially the exterior.
I took a free walking tour of Guadalajara by Alex and this was included. I highly recommend it for the context.
If you’re in Guadalajara and anywhere near, do not miss spending some time just strolling around and soaking in this feast for the eyes from all its angles and plazas on each side :)

A beautiful cathedral surrounded by walking areas (plazas). There is a big fountain in front of it. Inside the light creates beautiful effects. Take the time to walk all around and inside. Built between 1571-1618. There is a constant flow of people and corridors are wide with lots of sitting spaces.

The Teatro Degollado is an important theater in Guadalajara and one of the most popular concert halls in Mexico. It is designed in neoclassical style and features a gilded interior.
Beautiful building with a great entrance hall and wall ornaments. Lights on the Seats make it kind of hard to take beautiful photos

Very nice theatre, the home of the Jalisco Symphonic Orchestra, it reminded me a bit of the theatre a la Scala in Milan.
Entry is free if there are no events between the opening times for visitors (13:00 to 15:00), the orchestra and other performances happen frequently so it is worth checking the programme.

Top-end theater venue, great acoustics.
Went to the 2023 Mariachi gala and was not disappointed. Teatro Degollado is a superb concert hall, with a seating capacity of around 1,600.
Pro-Tip: Bar prices are predictably on the high side and the bar itself is not really large enough to cater for a full house, during the short intermissions.
Pocket/purse searches happen at the door, so if you're trying to bring something in, you need to be creative.

Beautiful theater built in the 19th century. Dedicated to classical concerts and theater presentations. The seats in the upper levels are uncomfortable; otherwise, very good experience.

What a wonderful evening. Top tiered venue, excellent musicians, and the operatic singers accompanying them on some of the music was superb. I was not expecting such an enjoyable experience. Highly recommend this to anyone!

A beautiful piece of architecture and art in GDL, a true jewel. This is a neoclassical theater located in the plaza center, stunning!
This is most definitely a must visit while visiting or living in GDL! A 19th century architectural masterpiece, opened in 1866.

Looks like roman historical place, use to perform drama and Mariachi music and concerts. You can find Mariachi music performances at the entrance area.
There's a common area in front of this, which includes Guadalajara sign, statues, fountain and great view of cathedral. Looks more beautiful in the night.
