Holy Shrine Of Imam Hossain
Shrine
Sights & Landmarks
Opulently decorated mosque dedicated to the camp of Imam Hussain with 2 large & 11 smaller domes.
It's nice place and full of people from all around the world, I visited on February 12, 2022, at the day time had a warm sunlight and in the night was almost cold. You should take off your shoes and put your backpack and camera outside of the shrines, but taking photos and walking with shoes on the way between the holy shrines are free and also some photographers are there to take photos of you and family. I think it's ok for kids when it's not so overcrowded.

Holy shrine of Imam Hussain (AS), Grandson of Prophet Mohammed (SAW). People from all faith visit this holy shrine in Karbala to seek blessings and fulfil their prayers. It is a beautiful shrine. Once in lifetime visit for all. Next to Imam Hussain (AS) is the shrine of his brother Abbas Aliambar Dar (AS). They both fought for Justice and sacrificed there lives to save Humanity. On 10th Moharram, they were killed by Yazid army.

The Holy shrine of Mola Hussain a.s is so crafted that it is the master piece of structure and architect engineering. When one enters the Haram, he forgets everything except Imam Hussain a.s , his family and his devoted, true, great companions sacrifice for the cause of Islam. The spiritualality in Haram is soulful. The Holy shrine structure is developed for the pilgrims. It resembles the same spirit when one goes to The Holy Kaba. The person who enters the shrine, does not want to leave.

The world's largest annual religious gathering.
The world's largest food distribution by the hospitality of people.
Through the world's largest number of volunteers.
Three Records, and more!
This is Arbaeen *
Every year, over 20 million people embark on a spiritual journey of Love, Freedom, and Justice!
A journey to Karbala, to honor Imam Hussein.
Arbaeen, meaning 'forty' in Arabic, marks 40 days post the martyrdom of Hussein, Prophet Mohammed's grandson.
From cities afar, millions walk for days.
Men, women, and children, united in direction and
purpose.
The energy is palpable. The chants, the prayers - an aura that's hard to put into words.
Locals, with open arms, serve the pilgrims
-generosity in its truest form.
Imagine, 1300 years since his martyrdom, and still, this pilgrimage grows.
Imam Hussein - a beacon of freedom, of justice.
In the spirit of Imam Hussein, keep your flame alive - for love, for justice.

Truly this is Allah's heaven on earth. One just stares in amazement at the splendour and grandeur of this shrine. 1400 years have passed since the death of Imam Hussain and yet the number of visitors to his shrine keeps in increasing every year.
The shrine has different entrances from all side with the entrances being Baab e Qibla, Baab e Shuhuda. It is connected to the Imam Al Abbas shrine via the bain ul harmain. On one side is Tille Zainabiya and near by is the Al Safeer Hospital.
The main market is opposite the Baab ul Sidra on Shahrah e Sidra with clothing and all sorts of gift items available.

Al Mansour Mall is a top-notch shopping center located in Baghdad, offering visitors an array of high-quality brands and excellent shopping experiences. The mall has undergone significant upgrades recently, with new stores opening up to cater to the diverse needs of customers. In addition to its great selection of shops, Al Mansour is also a popular destination for sightseeing, boasting a clean and well-maintained environment at reasonable prices.

A good place, but on busy days you may not find a place to sit down to eat, and the service may be bad while you order food. Lots and lots of asking for your opinion about perfumes. Money transfer exchange closes at about ten o'clock.

Prachtige mall gevestigd in hartje Baghdad.

Beautiful mall located in the heart of Baghdad.
Well secured at the entrance.
Upon entering you come to a square with a number of nice shops.
Inside on the first floors have many different types of shops selling perfumes to clothes. This is repeated on several floors.
On the 4th floor there is a large arcade for children. Punching bag, carousel, futuristic devices and more are present.
Food center is located on the fifth floor.
If you're craving pasta, pizza, or shawarma, it's here! Just a pity that the Iraqi kebab is not there.

The coffee shop on the first floor has great service, albeit being a bit overpriced.
I saw a family get stuck in the elevator because of a short power outage.

The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed. The photos are misleading. I wouldn’t have stayed here if I had seen the room before I paid. I made a mistake not to book another place beforehand and we had to stay here. Don’t get me wrong I am not a fussy person. I stayed in hostels before. I travelled with my backpack for years. As long as the ad is correct and the place is clean I have no problem but this hotel is not a 3 star hotel and it is not worth 600lira.
The towels were stained and the shower was not clean. Entire floor stank.
The breakfast was not good. The plates were dirty and the butter was left under the sun and melted so I didn’t even try.
If you are too desperate and do not want to stay in your car you can go there and spend the night but no way pay 600lira like I did.
There are lots of hotels in the area and they are pretty good for a little bit more money.

The prophet Abraham is believed to have been born in the cave by this compact site with a minaret.
I recently visited the Mevlid-i Halilulrahman Cave and was deeply moved by the experience. This historic site in Sanliurfa is not just a cultural exuberance but a spiritual treasure, rumored to be the birthplace of Prophet Ibrahim. The cave is well-maintained and illuminated, creating a serene atmosphere that fills you with a sense of peace. Inside, you can see religious books and sajjadas laid out, adding to the spiritual ambiance. The presence of a spring water source inside the cave is a highlight, with visitors often filling their bottles with this water, believed to be healing. What's more, there's a small mosque inside where you can pray, adding to the cave's tranquility. It's a must-visit for anyone seeking a deep cultural and spiritual experience in the heart of Sanliurfa

A site believed to be the hiding place of Abraham
Abraham is the traditional site of the birthplace of Abraham and it is here that he is said to have been hidden from the wicked King Nimrod. It is a place of worship, at the foot of the castle hill. It can be entered through the courtyard of the mosque, and is split into two sections for men and women. There are queues to enter, as it is a very small area and popular with many pilgrims. It doesn’t take too long to see however.

Aleppo Citadel is a city center fort that dates back to ancient times and is considered one of the oldest and largest castles in the world. Visitors can explore its historical opulence as well as nearby attractions such as Dead City of Serjilla and Saint Simon Citadel.
One of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, Aleppo preserves remnants of more than four millennia of Near Eastern history. And the Citadel of Aleppo is a densely layered microcosm of this long and complex history.
The Citadel of Aleppo is a large medieval fortified palace was built on a natural limestone outcropping rising some 30 meters (100 feet) above the level of the surrounding plain, in the centre of the old city of Aleppo, northern Syria. It is considered to be one of the oldest and largest castles in the world.
Usage of the Citadel hill dates back at least to the middle of the 3rd millennium BC. Occupied by many civilizations over time – including the Armenians, Greeks, Byzantines, Ayyubids, Mamluks and Ottomans...
The majority of the structures on the citadel were erected by the Ayyubids in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, but substantial structures are also preserved from the Ottoman period (beginning in the sixteenth century). Its high walls, imposing entry bridge, and great gateway remain largely intact and dominate the skyline of the city. Within its walls, the fabric of the citadel’s inner spaces has been compromised by a succession of invasions, earthquakes, and natural decay caused by exposure to the elements. Recent excavations uncovered substantial remains of an important Bronze Age neo-Hittite temple, in use for the most part of the third and second millennia B.C. The temple is decorated with an elaborate system of reliefs that depict deities and fantastic creatures and that are an important addition to the record of this early period in Syria’s history.
Dominating the city, the Citadel is part of the Ancient City of Aleppo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986. An extensive conservation work took place in the 2000s by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, in collaboration with Aleppo Archeological Society. During the 2010s, the Citadel was significantly damaged during the Battle of Aleppo of the Syrian Civil War. A missile attack on August 11, 2012 damaged the citadel’s massive gate and destroyed the iron doors, dating to 1211. In July 2015, a bomb was set off in a tunnel under one of the outer walls causing further damage to the citadel. It was reopened to the public in early 2017 with repairs to damaged parts underway.
The Citadel of Aleppo is one of the Middle East’s foremost monuments. Until conflict erupted in 2011, it received hundreds of thousands of visitors, many of whom were from outside the region. lengthy Battle of Aleppo. Wonderful. Extremely amazing place - the castle that was impossible to capture due to great fortification and military talents of it's creator, Sultan Al Zahir (Sultan Beibarys, the Kazakh who dominated for many years in Sham and Egypt)

Aleppo Citadel is a Syrian castle located in the city of Aleppo in northern Syria. The castle is distinguished by its huge size and is considered one of the largest castles in the world. The history of the castle goes back to ancient times. The castle sits on a hill in the center of the city of Aleppo. Ascension to the majestic-looking castle takes place via a huge staircase or amphitheater that passes through a high gate in the middle and is built on arches that graduate in height until the main gate of the castle.

The Citadel of Aleppo (Arabic: قلعة حلب) is a large medieval fortified palace in the centre of the old city of Aleppo, northern Syria. It is considered to be one of the oldest and largest castles in the world. Usage of the Citadel hill dates back at least to the middle of the 3rd millennium BC. Occupied by many civilizations over time – including the Greeks, Byzantines, Ayyubids and Mamluks – the majority of the construction as it stands today is thought to originate from the Ayyubid period. An extensive conservation work took place in the 2000s by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, in collaboration with Aleppo Archeological Society. Dominating the city, the Citadel is part of the Ancient City of Aleppo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986.[1] During the 2010s, the Citadel received significant damage during the lengthy Battle of Aleppo.[2][3] It was reopened to the public in early 2017 with repairs to damaged parts underway.[

Aleppo Castla (Citadel) is located almost in the city center of Aleppo. You can watch the whole Aleppo from a bird's eye view. However, it was badly damaged in the battels of Aleppo. It is a magnificent historical castle, especially in the pre-war state. I would like to share 15 photos that were taken in 2007.

I had a smaller boat and trip lasted as long as I wanted as not yet high season. I took this as was early so groups had not arrived yet for me to join. You can negotiate. Visited Cami Cafe 1 metre on corner of sunken mosque. All in all natural beauty and history exceeded my expectations. A wonderful day. There are also fish and other restaurants there at boarding point of boats. I caught easily from main Sanliurfa otogar the dolmus minibus to and from Halfeti 55 tkl each way.

A fascinating trip to a region where villages have been submerged due to the construction of a large dam. The descent is gorgeous and the scenery is beautiful. Take a small boat to see some of the ruins along the way and enjoy the old stone buildings.

A bit difficult to get to but totally worth it. I wish swimming was allowed. Even in the middle of October, it was totally swimmable. There is also glass floor viewing area. We went up onto the second floor of the small restaurant, and were rewarded with even better views.
Yakov Keselman — Google review
We had a boat trip during the sunset time, it was fascinating. I would definetely come back for a whole tour of this place, as we could only see those places from the boat.
Sibel Dugen — Google review
Rumkale is an old Byzantine fortress with a fantastic history surrounding it. There is great signage to get to it. Once you arrive to the area there are numerous viewing platforms to catch a glimpse of the magnificent fortress. There is a bit of parking by the castle itself but also a large parking lot about a 10 minute walk away.
IMPORTANT: To get to the castle itself, you have to take a short boat ride. We heard that prices were ~15 TL per person but the fortress itself was closed for renovations.
There are some places with limited selections of food, snacks, and souvenirs. They also offer boat tours around the euphrates for ~100 TL per person. You can also take a boat ride to the nearby zeugma archeological site.
The castle is incredibly beautiful and definitely worth a visit!

Wow! This place is fantastic. It was nice and quiet in April but you can see that they are gearing up for a lot of visitors come summer. There is a lot of work happening on the cliff side. Looks like it’ll be amazing. Hope that in the future you can visit the ancient site….don’t know what their future plans are for the area. We look forward to coming back.

A castle which is located in an area reachable only by boats, it is very great and beautiful, the weather their is great, you can spend a great time in the river, cutting it by the boat.
It also close to the sunken city, you can see the mosque which is under the water.
Advice everyone to visit it.

The Zeugma Mosaics Museum is a contemporary exhibition center that displays an extensive collection of mosaic art and artifacts dating back to ancient Rome. It presents exceptional mosaics excavated at the Roman site of Belkis-Zeugma, which was mostly submerged by the Birecik Dam. The upper level offers extraordinary views of almost intact floor mosaics found in Roman villas, providing detailed insights into past centuries.
It's a fairly big museum to look at with some nice pieces. I would recommend to buy headphones if you are really interested as there is not too much text inside to read. Overall a nice experience and the room with the gypsy Mosaic was a nice experience. If your in town you might aswell take an hour to come look at this.

Our stop at Gaziantep was specifically for a visit to the Zeugma Mosaic Museum. The museum showcases its vast collection, from the detailed mosaics of the 2nd–3rd century to the more primitive designs of the 5th century, highlighting the surprising decline in artistic skill over just two centuries. The early works resemble fine paintings, rich in detail and depth, while later pieces become more pictographic, reflecting a drastic shift.

Beautiful museum with an amazing collection of artifacts. It's definitely worth a visit. The museum its self is clean, informative and nicely laid out. The audio headset are good but they only cover the main building collections.

65 lira entry without audio guide. It's on the other side of the train station, so you'll have to cross the station underground by foot or hitch a taxi from town. Not the nicest area of Gaziantep surrounding the museum. It takes 1 hour minimum, 2+ if you want to take your time a bit. It's not as huge as all that, but the collection is in a large space and there is more than enough to take in in one go. The famous eyes of the 'gypsy girl,' or Alexander's eyes, are in a dark room.

It might be a very nice place to see but the scene yaş been blocked and turnet to a mess by the cafe's and restaurants which are very worse, untidy and the roads are very bad and dusty. One of the great places to enjoy the nature with having great food and drinks.
You can walk around and smell the fresh air with the sound of waterfalls around. Great place and suitable for families, friends or couples, so simple and enjoyable experience
You can also buy sovunier and hand made things.
Rawan Takriti — Google review
It was surely an amazing piece of nature but the waterfall ways were filled with mass of concrete and dozens of restaurants and vendors are now sorounding the water. Some restaurants placed their tables right into the water so you can cool yourself both drinking and having your feet in icy water. The overall concept is kinda vulgar, the trash around isnt being collected properly so you dont want to walk away from the main routes. The decoration of some places is quite absurd... combining everything... Anyway it was a nice walk and we cooled ourselves after superhot Antakya.

Amazing place, the food and Nargila is not that good there, you can have a table in the cold water, near the water falls and enjoy the nature, there is also a small market were you can buy some good gifts , the place there is full of cars especially in the weekends you give your car to someone to park it for you and then continue walking to the cafes. Most of the cafes there serve wine and raki. The prices is fair.

The Church of St Pierre is a significant historical site located in Antakya, Turkey. Carved into the side of Mt. Staurin and dating back to 1100 CE, it is one of the world's first cave churches and holds great importance in Christianity. It is believed that St. Pierre held the first religious meeting here to spread Christianity, making it a center of Catholicism and a pilgrimage site for Christians. The church also houses a museum and offers stunning views of the city.
Very old and historical church. Located on the hill so you have to walk to the top. The access if very easy. Actually, the inside is just a cave. I think the attractiveness is the rich-history behind this building.
Muhammad Luthfi — Google review
Entrance fee currently the equivalent in TL of €8 but free if you have a museum card.
To be honest there's not a lot to see. Ten minutes max, which is disappointing given the significant impact of the Antiochean church in early church history.

It's closed for renovation works. After the earthquake those works stopped also. I hope the damages are not significant. This is a picture with damages from outside of the museum.
stroe haris — Google review
This place, although is small, should be visited for the historical value that it has. As the first church in the world, and another historical site in a city that dates back to the first civilised city-states of the world. It is better to have the museum card as it gives access to all museums and historical sites of Turkey for 1 year.
W Rose Gac — Google review
The church is a small hall in the mountain. You need to know a bit of history and significance of the place to enjoy the atmosphere, have a look at the city view and tolerate the groups of religious tourists ( not to mention a rather expensive entry fee)
Take your time to go around the church (opposite direction of the main entrance). You shall find an amazing number of tunnels dug in the mountains and the figure carved into the mountain. Unfortunately, the path is not marked and cleaned, but it is definitely part of the amazing history where people had to prepare escape ways to flee religious persecution.

Interesting story, the first church were build in a cave, worth to visit. The entrance fee is a bit high so if you have museum card will be better.

The church is open and unharmed (unlike the city center). But there is a tent camp right in front of the church.
There is not much to see. The visit is worthwhile if you seek a spiritual connection with this unassuming place of great historic importance.
The Hatay Archeology Museum is a must-visit attraction, showcasing a remarkable collection of local artifacts from ancient times. The museum boasts an extensive display of Roman and Byzantine mosaics, depicting nature and human life across different periods. Its colossal size befits the historical significance of Hatay, making it a unique destination for history enthusiasts. Visitors are captivated by the conceptualized rooms and sections, setting it apart from other Turkish museums.
One of the great museums you can ever visit, huge and divers collection. Can't be missed if you in Antakya visting it is a must. However, it needs minimum two hours so make sure you have enough time when you go there.

The revered Moses Tree, believed to have sprouted from the staff of Moses himself, is a renowned tourist destination. Despite its popularity, parking can be a challenge; it is advisable to park at the top for a reasonable fee of 10 lira. 3000 year old tree. The legend says Moses and Hızır passed this location on the route to the Moses mountains, and Moses stabbed his staff to the earth. When it came back, there was a spring (with holy waters) and a tree, sprang from the wooden staff. Now the tree and the nearby spring are protected, and there are coffee shops around. It’s on the route to Vakıflı, so , why not ?

This beach is absolutely lovely! Sand and water are so clean and clear! Really recommend if you have the time to drive out here.
A few reviews mentioned the difficulty of the roads but even in my small rental car I never felt like I was about to get stuck. There are definitely lots of potholes but it's really manageable even if you have a small car; you just need to go slowly and carefully.
I went in April and there was enough traffic on the road that even if I did somehow manage to get stuck I felt confident someone would come by soon enough and take pity on me and help me.
Last stop before the beach for gas/water/food is Dipkarpaz. I went as a young woman by myself and felt really safe in the space despite how empty it was. There were a few families there, but there was still so much space I felt I had the place to myself.

A fabulous experience and a place you must see and swim at least once in your lifetime. Went there with my family and the children loved it. It is really safe for children to swim. Don't forget to take a parasol with you but you can also rent a sunbed and an umbrella there.
As you will be far away from shops, villages and settlements buy some drinks and food to take with you if you are planning to swim for a more than few hours.

Awesome beach where the turtles leave their eggs. That's why there is since 20 years no hotel buildings. After 10 years I thought now they put some hotels there but God thanks it looks near like 10 years before very natural.
+ Nice view, the dunes and long beach is awesome
+ You can make long walks
+ Very natural
+ Looks clean
+ Possibility to have lunch or dinner in near the beach
+-Possibility to rent a lounger/deckchair with beach umbrella but I don't know if they have a license and pay their tax. There are 2 different renters, one Turkish and one Austrian guy that rent the things. The Austrian guy wanted 100TL (over 3€). That's not cheap / common
- You need patience until you reach the place

One of the best camping experiences in Cyprus. Either booking a cabin (comes with a bathroom and private shower too) or just setting up tents and a campfire on the beach are great options.
Not many people reach the spot so expect only a few other groups in high season (and no one at all in low seasons).
The last 30 minutes of the drive are bumpy but worth it. Pick up some carrots before you come as you'll have to pay the donkeys to move out of the way.
Stay the night and watch the sea come alive with thousands of planktons lighting up the shore in a blue glaze.
Take a small hike to one of the nearby hills (easy for beginners) to catch the sunset, one of the best in Cyprus.
There's a restaurant nearby that can also be used for emergency WiFi (connection is bad at that point). The cabins also come with WiFi if you need it.
If you come at the right time you could be able to rent a horse for a beach ride too.

Share this experience with the donkeys running around there.

Stunnig beauty of the Mediterranean. Be there for the sunrise or sinset and your heart and soul will be forever locked to that horizon line. The golden sands shine like crystal in the sun and an amazing place to fully experience the beauty of this island. The road is quite bumpy and old, and narrow. You need to think about what car you wanna drive to the top of that area. You'll see the beautiful donkeys local to this island. Don't freak out if they push their heads through the windows of your car. They are used to receiving fruit and carrots from visitors. However, do not leave the kids and babies unattended around them. Afterall, the donkeys are not domestic though sociable.
The Stone Bridge was constructed around 200 A.D. and spans the Seyhan River. It remained open to traffic until 2007 and is still standing today. The bridge exhibits a simplistic yet stunning design, in contrast to modern bridges. On the opposite side of the bridge lies the old town and Ataturk museum, which are worth exploring. There are also several charming cafes and ice cream shops nearby, as well as street vendors selling various items like prayer beads and underwear.
Lovely little cafes and ice cream places about. Couple of buskers added to the atmosphere.Lots of trees so could enjoy the morning sitting in the shade with a cup of tea!

This bridge is a historical object. It's just for walking now, also there’s nice views especially in the dark time.

The bridge still stands after all these years, it’s simple but beautifully constructed, unlike those ugly bridges today. On the opposite site of the bridge, take sometime to walk the old town and the Ataturk museum.

A beautiful, well-preserved bridge. You can stroll to the other end and back, just as people have done for many hundreds of years. A view of the huge mosque to the north makes for a nice view. There's not too much to do at the bridge, so I'd recommend next heading towards that mosque through the riverside park on the west bank there, as the nice part of town is in that direction. Though beware of aggressive beggars and peddlers at the mosque.

The Sabanci Merkez Mosque in Adana is a grand structure that was opened in 1998. It boasts an Ottoman-style interior and is covered entirely in luxurious marble and gold leaf. With six minarets and a towering central dome that reaches 54 meters high, it can house up to 28,500 worshippers. This impressive mosque, built by philanthropist Sakip Sabanci, is the largest between Istanbul and Saudi Arabia.
This is one of the greatest and beautiful mosque what I had ever seen! It's the second largest mosque in Turkey. There’re amazing views all around and exciting views inside.

If you are coming to the Mosque after seeing Taş köprü there is shortcut, an underground passage to the mosque but the passage stinks with urine and filth. You can make a bigger loop and pass through a traffic lights which are a bit far. But if you go through the underground passage the smell is terrible. Looks like an abandoned place. If you can bear the smell you can pass through it fast and reach the beautiful mosque that is worth visiting. I think municipal authorities should pay attention to this.

Tarsus Waterfall, located in Mersin, Turkey, is a popular tourist spot known for its stunning natural beauty. The waterfall was formed when the Berdan Stream changed its course in the 5th century, creating an impressive cascade that attracts visitors with its enthusiastic appearance, especially in spring. Surrounded by dense forests and lush vegetation, the waterfall offers public viewing platforms and restaurant options where visitors can enjoy a bite amidst the fragrant jasmines and tranquil waters.
Tarsus is a great place to visit, and the waterfall's are great, but could do with a tidy up!
MarZar — Google review
We visited here as part of our trip to Tarsus and really enjoyed it. Access is through a restaurant, although we did not stop to eat. Entrance is completely free as is the large car park.
The waterfall is wide and beautiful, but the part we liked the most was the friendly atmosphere from the locals.
There are picnic tables set up around the viewing site and they were packed with local people coming here to have a picnic breakfast, and were also singing and dancing, in fact they invited us to share their breakfast and dance with them.
There is a duck pond outside with a waterfall which also connects to the main falls. We'll worth going and bring a picnic!

Steep cascades in a mountain landscape with high-altitude lakes, forests & snow-capped peaks.
Best place to take pictures and enjoy the view. I recommend to come early to mind late night drives because the way takes about 1-2 hours cause of the mountain roads. Also the roads are steep most of the times. But its really worth it.

Pretty cool natural attraction! Really crazy to see such big waterfalls gushing out from the sides of cliffs. My kids loved being able to walk the little paths on the other side of the river. Nice to have a small cafe to but ice cream, snacks or hot drinks.
Unfortunately the largest waterfalls don't really have good access. You see them as you drive in, but there is no parking near them, so you have to walk back to view them from the road. Also the roads get a little windy going back in there, so if you get car sick, be prepared!

The Varda Viaduct is an impressive architectural marvel characterized by its soaring structure and dramatic arches. It gained popularity after its appearance in the James Bond movie "Skyfall". Though worth a visit, drivers should be aware that there is only one passage through the tunnel, which is a one-way road. Visitors are advised to come early in the morning when it's less busy as photo taking spots can be dangerous.

Safety warning. You need to drive carefully to this place, the road is narrow, after driving for an hour in a narrow road you will be reaching a cafe where you can rest and enjoy the view of the bridge. The Heaven and Hell caves, located near Narlikuyu in Greece, are a pair of subterranean caves with great mythological significance. The sinkholes were formed by a subterranean river and have been featured in many Greek legends. The area also features a modern underground chapel. Visitors can enter the cavern called Heaven through an elevator or by walking down steep paths. However, the lighting inside is poor after a certain point. There is also a beautiful temple before entering the cave.
Breathtaking caves. A lot of walking but they placed an elevator to get back up from the cave of heaven. Worth going all the way down after the sanctuary of verging Mary all the way inside the cave. Wear good shoes.

This was an interesting spot as you have to deep caverns or caves. Oner is called heaven which you can walk into or take an elevator. You can walk in a ways but the lightning gets poor. There is a temple before entering that is beautiful. the cavern is hell which has a platform that you can stand on and gaze into hell. Worth the visit, ticket price is 45 TL

Interesting place, it was very organized, as it is the case with places and sites managed by the ministry of tourism. You may buy your tickets right away, use your museum card, Mediterranean museum card, or charge your card at the door. You may buy a museum card here if this is your first site and you are planning to visit other sites in the coming days, you will save a considerable amount of money.
The place itself is basically two ancient natural holes or pit forming a huge cliff in the mountain. You can observe one of them from the glass terrace and walk the stairs down to the other where you will find a cave with old Roman church.
Consider visiting in a cool weather day, not sunny days.
Not a funny place for children, you will end up carrying them on the stairs :D.

Make sure you're up for the challenge of climbing your way back up from the cave, there's an elevator to take you to the very top but only after you break a sweat from the cave to the elevator. Other than that the entrance fee is 45 liras however it might be cheaper to get the yearly pass.

One of the attractions around. Must visit. They have improved the location a lot. There is a platform with glass floor, which has become an attraction around the globe.
You can visit the cave. Unfortunately, you need to take the stairs down and only with elevator up. So it's tough for buggies. There are exceptions for elderly people etc.
The cave is very cool and there is an old church down.

100% must see. Please make sure you visit this place only if you are wearing a great pair of shoes, as the size of the stairs are really vary. We have visited this place when it was really hot, but it absolutely worth it. The way to hell was obviously super easy, and the way to heaven was a bit hard, but as they covered the rocks with thick net, slips, trips and falls was prevented. Don’t miss it, even though it can be tough, you should give it a try.

Was ok to see hell side had glass walking platform. Heaven side walk down can be slippery on rocks. Once in middle these is ancient building then can go further down to a cave. These is lift back up from half way mark which is great as walk back up would have been very challenging. If you can only pick one attractive between this gillindre cave which is 1 hour apart. Gillindre cave is better one to choose.

Mind blowing place to visit. There are two caves that symbolize the paradise and the inferno. Interesting fact: the Inferno cave is located much higher than the Paradise one. The rationale behind it is that you can’t get out of Inferno and you can get out of the Paradise.
There is an elevator that takes you up from the lower cave.
You can take your children here.

The tickets were 75TL per person. Really nice place to see, but you should be prepared for the over 400 stairs to take down (and up - if you dare) to see the heaven. There is also a lift available if you don't want to take the stairs. The hell looks more like heaven and vice versa. You'll see what I meant when you'll get there. It took us 1h to see the place but we like running and stairs.

There is an active excavation site known as Olba Ancient City, situated in a magnificent location. At the summit of the nearby hill, there are remnants and a water cistern that were most likely built and utilized by the same community. While it may be distant from the center, it is still a noteworthy area. Directly across from the theater, one can find a blue tent and an old house with gardens where Feride and Aunt Nurten reside.

It's a sprawling site that if you have a lot of time to explore could be fun, but we were a little disappointed to be honest. Sure, the aquaduct is impressive and the size of the walls and watch towers certainly suggest that it would have been safe, but there is not that much here that you can't see elsewhere.

Uzuncaburç tan 2 km içeri gidince kocaman bi vadide muhteşem bi anrik şehir daha çok mezar şehir. Kazı çalışmaları sürüyormuş ama girişte bilet olayı yok.

(Translated by Google) We came across the ruins of a settlement that is approximately 1800 years old. Everywhere, mountain by stone, is full of remnants of the historical city. I think there are many structures that have not yet come to light. It would be better if detailed historical information about the city was written at the entrance. The valley is in serious need of maintenance. We really liked the atmosphere of this ancient city. As one wanders around, one feels as if one will discover something new at any moment. When you drive a little further, you will reach Uzuncaburç, an extraordinary city. I advise. Be sure to travel.

Yaklaşık 1800 yıllık bir yerleşim yerinin kalıntılarıyla karşılaştık. Dağ taş her yer tarihi şehirden kalan parçalarla dolu. İnsan dolaştıkça her an yeni birşey keşfedecekmiş gibi hissediyor. Araçla biraz daha ileriye gittiğinizde fevkalade bir şehir Uzuncaburç'a ulaşacaksınız. Tavsiye ederim. Mutlaka gezin.

Soğanlı Valley is situated in the southeastern part of Cappadocia, in Yeşilhisar district, Kayseri Province, Turkey. The valley features numerous rock-carved buildings and churches that are made from the soft tuff stone found in the region's landscape.
The Cappadocia Art & History Museum is a boutique hotel that was once a historic mansion, featuring exhibits of dolls dressed in cultural attire. The museum provides relatable ways to learn about culture and history through displays of handcrafts and traditional arts. Its collection covers a broad range of fascinating items from everyday life. The museum is larger than it appears, requiring more than an hour for a proper visit.
Definitely worth a visit. A peculiar small museum, a cabinet of curiosities of sorts. You will hear many interesting stories about Turkish and world customs, costumes, history and peoples, all told through handmade dolls from all over the globe.

Closed early on at 4pm on a Friday without any sign as to reason why – the signboard on the door indicated that the museum is open until 6pm. It was a big bummer for us after climbing steep ramps. Apparently, according to locals, they do close early occasionally.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Museum tells stories and explains culture and history through relatable means of dolls, clothes and daily items. It's also a magnificent display of handcrafts and traditional arts.
It's much bigger than it looks, a proper visit would take over an hour.
Highly recommended

This is a wonderful place, especially with toddlers. The curators did a great job of explaining the history and stories behind the dolls. Great handmade dolls and amazing intricate work.

A small private museum. Name somewhat deceiving as the collection is probably 40% Cappadocia focused and the rest overall Turkey and dolls from all over the world. The owner is very friendly and welcoming, we enjoyed it

My son and I really enjoyed our visit to the museum today which we stumbled across quite by accident. It has lots of interesting and curious things to see. The lady that welcomed us at the door gave us a private tour which included the views from the roof terrace. We also found the building itself quite fascinating-definitely worth a visit.

Really nice place. Lots of dolls representing different time, profession, life style history. The museum curator gave us personal tour with lots of historical information.

Really interesting place. If you want to visualize Ottoman history, this is definitely the place. The dolls on the 2nd floor are incredible. I can't imagine how long each one would take to make. The exhibits in the basement are also extremely interesting. We didn't expect to have a personalized tour, but Serkan, one of the museum staff, gave my husband and I a private tour in English. It was a unique experience and I have never been to a museum quite like it.

Wonderful experience making home cooked dishes in a family home and kitchen tonight. Personal touches were on point. Totally unique, an experience you won’t forget. Tell your family, tell your friends, tell your colleagues that this place is totally awesome 👏

Go to cooking school here!! The family is so nice and the food is insanely delicious. They can make lots of vegetarian versions of things. Loved it so much!!

We stumbled across this home cooking experience by chance, and it turned out to be our best experience in Cappadocia, even better than the hot air ballooning. That’s probably because we didn’t have very high expectations, so I hope I don’t create too high an expectation for you.
We went with our teenage kids, who can be very difficult to please (apparently it’s a teenager thing?). From the moment we arrived, Tolga’s (our host) warmth and hospitality was above and beyond anything we have experienced before. We got to meet the whole family, from his mother to his youngest daughter, and everyone gets involved.
There is such a good mix between watching and learning, and rolling sleeves up and getting involved. We even got to make Cappadocia ravioli from scratch. There is a distinct difference between eating food at a restaurant and eating home cooked food. Having the opportunity to learn about the cuisine and the culture provides a very unique perspective to eating the food. Tolga also gave a lot of context as to why things are done a certain way, which is really useful.
After we helped prepare the dinner our group sat together and enjoyed a 4 course meal together. Our group included people from two other continents, which really added to our experience through chatting and sharing experiences.
In the end our kids loved it too and developed a whole new appreciation for the local food and culture. By far an absolute must do if visiting Cappadocia.

What can I say?? The most AMAZING experience! Tolga and his family welcomed us in the most beautiful way. We felt immediately at home. We cooked together, we talked and we learned so much about each other. This was absolutely our highlight in our Cappadocia journey. The whole family is amazing: Tolga, his mum, his wife, son and the little prenses Amineh.
I will cherish this experience in my heart for ever. Words are not enough! Thank you for everything! We'll come back for sure!
Super recommended.
Lots of love,
Alessia

Brilliant experience with Tolga and his family. They were all so welcoming and really treated us exceptionally well. His home is gorgeous and the food was delicious and easy to follow. We’ll definitely be cooking some of the dishes again!!

Where to start. This cooking experience was truly a game changer. I have done a few cooking classes in the past but Tolba and Toga provided more insights to their dishes than I have ever experienced before. Who knew the correct way to cook eggplant is… (you’ll have to visit and book a class with them to find out!) Whether you’re an experienced cook or not, you will definitely have fun, learn lots, and enjoy your time with Tolba and his family. Truly a joy and honored to have met this incredible family.

Thank you Amineh, Tuba, Tolga, Mustafa, Hava, and Husain for welcoming us to your house. One of the best experiences in Cappadocia. Even comparable to the hot air ballooning. The family is so warm, we felt at home from the moment we stepped in the house. And the cooking experience and the food is insanely delicious. If you really want to experience Cappadocia locally, this is a must!

Tolga and his family were the sweetest. We almost canceled our reservation due to fatigue..... so glad we didn't. Definitely one of the best experiences in Cappadocia. We cooked so much food, I could barely walk after!
Will gladly take another class with them in the future.

Wow! One of the best cooking class experiences we've had in all of our travels. While you won't leave this class with a ton of new culinary techniques and training, you will get to make some great Turkish dishes, eat more food than you could manage in 2 meals (or 3!), and get to spend a lot of time with one of the warmest group of people you will ever meet.
The host, Tolga, was amazingly friendly from the moment he picked us up at our hotel. The class is in his family home so you will be cooking in his kitchen with his wife, Tugba, and his mother. Later we got to meet his 2 sons and daughter and absolutely everyone was delightful.
It was inspiring to hear about how they created this business and have devoted themselves to providing visitors with all home-grown ingredients and the warmest welcome to Cappadocia possible. They should be extremely proud of what they built and I highly recommend visiting them. Thank you Tolga!

Absolutely the best!! It felt like you were their family, soon as you walked into their home. You will never find a better cooking experience. Will work around all dietary restrictions. This is a must if in Turkey.
