ROARR! is a thrilling park featuring a life-size dinosaur trail, animal enclosures, adventure playground, and deer park. The Christmas market at ROARR! offers a festive experience with food, drinks, and entertainment. Families can enjoy the various attractions such as the indoor playground, dinosaur animatronics trail, farm animals, and zoo exhibits. Additionally, there are activities like Go Ape and a splash area for warmer weather.
It's a great attraction that's not too far away.
The kids absolutely love coming here. There is so much space for them to run around and lots of things to climb on. There were also a few new rides.
There is lots to see and do. The kids love the stamp trail and receive a medal at the end for getting all the boxes on their card stamped. There are animals which all have the BSL sign picture next to it so you can learn the sign for each animal.
Children under 90cm go free, which meant my youngest, who is growing like a weed, exceeded that this year but still totally worth the entry fee.
There are plenty of toilet facilities which have always been clean and stocked.
There are places to eat inside but there are also lots of picnic tables so you can bring packed lunches.
I believe most things are accessible but I'm unable to talk on that on a disability level, but on a parent and buggy situation, there were no issues, just a big hill at the high ropes.
We are yet to come in the height of summer, which is something we hope to do this year as the kids want to try out the splash park there.
If you are in East Anglia and the kids are remotely interested in dinosaurs, this is a great day out, and I'd highly recommend paying a visit.

If your child loves dinosaurs, this is the place to go.
We visited last week and had a lovely time.
Be warned, it's hilly !!
My only reason for marking down by one, was that some of the paths need resurfacing. Some have been done already which is great, but others need doing as it's difficult to get a buggy through and would be even harder for a wheelchair.
Other than that we had a lovely day out.
Huge outside play area for children, with sand pit and the added bonus of a splash park for the warmer weather ( we went in march so it wasn't open)
There are two indoor play areas, we didn't use them as we went on a nice dry day.
Children can collect stamps around the park to earn a medal at the end.
Nice cafe selling a variety of food and drinks.
Rachel Lightbown — Google review
A great day out.- although book at least 2 days prior as tickets are a 3rd cheaper.
Child under 90cm free.
We arrived at 1030 after opening hours no queue, lots of parking. They have lots of different walks to collect dinosaur stamps ( once all collected child gets a free medal)
They have an animal encounter area which was closed. High ropes which opens after 11.00 daily shows in the dippy theatre we took my son to the live action on ( he’s only 2) and we felt this was the only thing he’d sit through. What we were impressed by was the amount of soft play areas and out door park areas. This kept my son entertained all day. We stayed for 4 hours and could of stayed longer.
Food was expensive and not great. We took our own. So areas where difficult with my pram uneven ground ( newborn baby) but most areas were accessible.
They had a little sandpit to dig fossils and a race track. Overall a good family day out

Busy when we visited but we were still easily able to visit all of the attractions during the day. Good to see some improvements since our last visit a few years ago. Be prepared to mortgage your house for food (BYO sandwiches if you can! 😁) and the donuts/coffee ordering systems defies explanation so check you're in the right queue! Still, kids had good fun (1 x 10yo, 1 x 7yo) so worth a visit! 🦕🦖

Amazing day out , the kids love it . Definitely worth a visit. Plenty to do! There is a splash play as well so it's even better on summer.

Visiting in the holidays on a rainy day and the kids loved it ❤️ we had 6 at 4 and under .
We took a picnic as we had been told tgat the food was expensive and not a great deal on offer the fish and chips looked OK but it shut at 2 so that was very disappointing. Also be aware there are a lot of wasps .
The animals that were there were very happy and clean.
The walk was very accessible and the dinosaurs looked great 👍

Great day out for the whole family. Our kids loved it, they are 5,6,8 & 9 and all found a bit of the park they loved. The rides, dinosaurs & staff were great. Didn't eat at the cafe but lots of picnic tables available & places to get drinks & Ice cream. We paid £87 for a family of 4 which was good value when all the rides inside the park are free. Lots of things to climb, 9 hole crazy golf, indoor play, and a mini water park. Didn't have time to see the animals. You can easily spend 6/7 + hours here.
The staff on the predator high ropes were fantastic, our youngest cried through most of it but the staff were happy to hold his hand all the way back down. 😀

Amazing day out for me and my 6 year old who is dinosaur mad, can walk around in an hour or 2 but with all the climbing activities outside and inside the crazy golf and the high ropes it is a full day out. Cannot thank the high rope staff enough who got my son so confident on the top level, and boo to the Queen of hearts for trying to steal his ice cream. All the activities where free including the high ropes and for an activity with 7 staff and very expensive equipment you would forgive them if they charged for it, but they don't. Great day out!

Great day out for the family. Very good parking. Kids can collect stamps on a card for a reward at the end.
The dinosaurs are very good, with sone that make noises and move.
The water area is great fin for the kids - and very welcome in the heat !
Various activities around - slides, okay areas and karts.
Food outlets are good and not to expensive.
All in all a great family day out.
Simon Windle — Google review
Kids loved every minute!
The park now has an app, which makes for a more interactive experience.
There's loads to do, and see, so much so the kids were kept entertained for over 4 hours, whilst we were there.
My only complaint would be the slushy seemed a little light on flavour, but, that might just be a personal preference.

Absolutely amazing day out for our two year old daughter.
My husband and myself had looked forward to taking our daughter here whilst visiting family in Norfolk two weeks ago and it didn’t disappoint. Our daughter is still asking to go back!
She loved all the dinosaurs and there’s even an animal section which was great to see them cared for and cleaned out so thoroughly.
The rides being built look great too!
The food is a little over priced for what it is but next time we will just take a picnic.
I would say that I hope the manager employs more staff as the poor lady on reception was rushed off her feet and had been there all day until closing on her own, we didn’t catch her name but she did an excellent job and although very busy, she was still enthusiastic and happily serving. Our daughter was delighted to receive her medal of choice for completing the stamp card at the end of the day.
We will definitely return!

Loved the whole day.
So many dinosaurs to see! Great quality details on the Dinosaurs too!
2 year old daughter loves them at the moment and she had a great time.
Soft Play was Decent too,
Good size. Slides were good, although didn't do the biggest ones as daughter wasn't big enough.

First time visit, and the 18 month absolutely loved it! They adored seeing all the dinosaurs, only unsure of the small dinosaur the keeper had otherwise wasn’t scared of any of the dinosaurs. Lots to see and do. Enjoyed the outdoor show. It rained in the afternoon but this was fine as there was an excellent indoor soft play area. Food is basic and overpriced, however this is the same at all big attractions so couldn’t knock it. We purchased lunch and coffees, but bought snacks. Had vegan options. However, it appeared to be dairy cheese on the chips I was served and the till worker also thought so. They asked the kitchen staff and they said it was vegan, asked if they were sure it was and they said yes but then actually no! They checked and it was in-fact dairy cheese. They did appear rushed off their feet but not ideal if you have allergies. Asides this, would recommend but just be careful if you have allergies.

Such a lovely place to use your imagination and let kids enjoy being outdoors! The park is immaculately clean, including the toilets, and every member of staff was friendly and engaging, in fact, this was the friendliest, child oriented place we have visited for a long time. We would definitely recommend and will re-visit soon.
Anna Dunn — Google review
Very expensive day out. Adults should not be charged the same as kids. Some of the dinos are new, but others are knackered and don't move like they should. Some interactive things were also not working. But the children liked it and it's a nice walk for adults. Plenty for the kids to do both inside and outside. I just strongly disagree with adults being charged so much when it's specifically a kids' day out.

First time visiting Roarr! My wife and I have 3 kids aged 6, 4 and 2 and they really enjoyed themselves, particularly the cars, swing ride and indoor soft play. Nice outing for the day, we went on a Saturday and wasnt busy at all. Would be lovely on a warm day, and good also for adults as nice open areas to walk while kids run around. Could do with more rides, but all in all a great day out.
Eddy Attang — Google review
Lots to do at Roarr. We went off peak when it was cold and windy and still had fun but lots of things were shut which is explained on the website and pricing. Certainly would be more fun in the summer. Worth a flying visit if your child really likes dinosaurs

Great place to take little ones. Lots of things going on and I was impressed.
Be ready to walk.. the place is big.
There is a little theatre, lots of dinosaurs, indoors playground which offers snacks and drinks, a dinosaur trail with dinosaurs animatronics (get rrady to walk), farm animals and other zoo animals like lizards, snakes. There is also another area like Go Ape and splash area but it was closed as it is Jan and freezing cold.
Food is really expensive and takes a long time to get ready. Bring your own snacks and miss the need to wait or pay a lot of money. Will definitely come again.

Roarr! Has improved so much in recent years and has lots of additional activities within the park which are free (unlike many other places).
Great new attraction like the high wire for the kids.
Always an enjoyable visit, any time of the year!

This place is a hidden gem! Not only has it an amazing dinosaur park, it has a great soft play, picnic area, bikes, animal Corner and the list goes on. Great annual pass value for money. My son is autistic and they have quiet areas if it all gets too much. I am a fan!

It's fantastic family entertainment.
Staffs are amicable and professional entertainers. There are generous number of staffs for maintenance, so the venue is kept very clean. It's just amazing how they keep toilets so clean with such a large number of child customers.
There is no additional charge except for food, and there are many tables for picnic foods if you want to save money. It's so great that we don't need to worry about the total spending while seeing the smiles on our children.
There are so many things to enjoy in any weather.
Thursford Spectacular is an impressive venue that offers a spacious area for showcasing Christmas light installations and also hosts steam engine displays during the summer. It is renowned for its remarkable performances, encompassing talented acts, singers, and dancers. The decorations and lights are truly mesmerizing. Even though the enchanted walk wasn't initially booked, tickets could be obtained on-site, allowing visitors to explore the captivating surroundings at their leisure.
Thursford spectacular..... What can I say......wow wow wow wow.
Worth every penny!
Booked this for my birthday treat, heard it was good but no it was amazing, the acts, singers, dancers, decorations and lights all amazing.
We didn't book the enchanted walk but got tickets when we got there. We loved walking around and could have spent longer there. We were at the evening performance so it was dark...and cold outside.
There are plenty of guides to let you know where to go and answer any questions. We didn't eat or drink there but there are places to do so and able to get mini tubs of ice cream during the interval.
Everyone who played a part in setting up this show should be very proud, thank you to you all

Went to the Christmas Spectacular. Absolutely worth a visit to see the Christmas lights and watch the 3 hour variety show. It has something for everyone and all ages will enjoy. Really put me in the Christmas spirit. Highly professional show, excellent singers, live orchestra and one of the funniest comedians I've seen in a long time. Great night.

Went to the Magical journey of light and it didn't disappoint. We went with our 3 children (11,6 &2) and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The lights outside were amazing and my favourite part. The walk through inside was magical, the children enjoyed looking at all the characters. Cafe was nice with plenty of space. Vintage funfair was cute don't forget your pennies for the tokens for the rides. Food and drink also outside. Will definitely go again next year.

It was the most magical experience. In this troubled World we live in we need some joy and this Christmas show will give you it in abundance. An amazing cast. The dancers and singers are worthy of a top London/New York/Paris show! The orchestra was exceptional. The organist a legend and great supporting acts. Two and a half hours of bliss. I would recommend it 100%

Great evening out to get into the festive mood! Our 17 month old had a look of awe glued to his face for the whole night.
We only did the magical journey as we felt he would not have the attention span for the spectacular show, but it was still a lovely experience and we will definitely be going again.

Such a magical place for kids as well as adults. We went just after Xmas and the light displays were amazing. A wonderful show-amazingly talented singers, dancers, musicians with a selection of acts to complement the show. This included a fast talking comedian, stunt bike, stunt roller skaters and very entertaining juggling!
The separate light show is well worth the additional cost. An excellent performance to start the Christmas celebrations!!

Many shows around Christmas. I've been to to many of them in London and around England, but if you really want to get to the Christmas mood, this show will easily do the job. It's not only a great variety show but played in the most amazing Christmas atmosphere. After moving from London to Cambridgeshire, we found d this show and been 3 years in a row now... Still bring us that Christmas jolly feeling... highly recommended!

Booked for the Light Trail and was delighted at the experience! Didn't quite know what to expect, but me and my partner very much enjoyed it! Decent sized trail, price maybe a little too high for it, would suit around the £15 mark in my opinion! The beach at Wells next the Sea is a vast space. If the tide is out there's a great expanse of sand to traverse and enjoy. There are lots of interesting seashells scattered across the beach. Would definitely visit again if in the area. There's also lots of parking and some food/drink amenities near the beach.

Fantastic big beach with a lot of gorgeous beach huts. Be mindful to head for the short stay car park via the town centre if there are spaces as the long stay car park is a bit of a detour and a long walk (or £1.80 bus ride) to the beach itself. The dog section begins a bit further into the beach (they're not allowed at the main entrance by the RNLI building) but there are signs telling you where to go (there are stairs to get to the dog section but they are very well maintained)

Fantastic beach, Our 2 dogs loved the shallow slope going into the sea. Town is very quaint with lovely views of the harbour and quirky little shops and great fish and chips.
Tim Baker — Google review
I've been going here since I was a young child and I'm now fortunate enough to take my own children here. The beach is excellent although serious attention must be paid to the tides, which move very quickly due to the shallow beaches. Unfortunately the train has now gone, which is a real shame but the walk back into town is nice anyway. Some decent fish and chips are available, along with some other traditional British seaside attractions. Wells is a good base for loads of other attractions nearby and would recommend.

Lovely sandy beach where the left hand side of the beach is all dog friendly. If you are lucky, you may get to see seals chilling in the bank of the sand. At low tide, it is quite a walk to the sea but it is so lovely and clean that we've never minded. There are also lovely walks through the pine forest too and this links up with the coastal path. There are a lot of steps up from the car park but they are not overly steep.
Nikki Bushell — Google review
I think we must have gone a different place than most of the reviews, we found it very unfriendly for dogs, there were 'No Dogs Allowed' on the '3' beaches next to the car park, there was a dog area some way off in the distance but NOT on a beach, this is in Winter season? I just thought you would have been glad of people visiting to keep the Cafe open, which did have good coffee and sausage rolls. Very bad experience and will not be visiting again. 1 star is being VERY generous.
The Dooks — Google review
Fantastic beach, really nice place. The sea food is amazing. The only thing I don’t understand is: Norfolk is massive and surrounded by beaches. Why is this place really busy? There are times that you can walk on the street without hitting someone.
Banu A — Google review
Great to see some dedicated no-dog areas where you can let the kids play without being menaced by some chav's pit-bull! Unfortunately this is probably the least desirable part of the beach due to the estuary mud, but still much better than the canine melee of many beaches.
Andy Jones — Google review
Despite it being cloudy, wells beach is a lovely sand beach. On our visit there was a seal sunbathing!
Being mindful however it's a good walk to the town centre.
To park get there early to avoid disappointment.
There are toilets and a cafe next to the beach, but if you find yourself a distance away, you might get caught short.
Very safe beach, with lots of guidance and signs for safety.
Boats sail through regularly. Nice day out

Always enjoy visiting this beach. Even though there may be hundreds of people enjoying it too, it doesn't seem crowded. Always take note of the tide times and keep close to the beach huts when it's running in. Plenty of parking, but sadly the narrow gauge railway has closed and now its too far for me and many other people to walk into town.

Lovely beach, great to watch all the fishing boats in the harbour. Lots of character, plenty of places to eat, fish and chips, crab, lobster, you can walk along the Norfolk coastal path from the harbour too.

Wow what a beautiful beach, one of the best I've been on including any abroad!! Spent the best part of the day playing in the sand and sea with my grandson we even rented a beach hut through the Happy Huts, which I would definitely recommend doing, what a perfect way to spend a day on your holidays 😀
Joanne Stanley — Google review
Beautiful large beach. The beach huts are lovely, definitely a photo opportunity. There are some no dog signs, which was sad to see people ignoring them. Loved seeing the seals which was rare but still something to remember.
Soph B — Google review
So my first time here, and while the beach is quite striking in its size, that’s it. What does stand out is that the sea was miles out! There’s also loads of signs for ‘no dogs’, yet still idiots have dogs on the beach and the vast majority are not even on leads. I’m sure someone will step in a mix of dog poo and sand at some point!
The beach in my experience isn’t the best I’ve ever been too. The beach huts are cool, but nothing compared to the likes of Avon Beach in Hampshire.
Would I go back to the beach again? No. Would I recommend it. Probably not. Never mind. Opinions vary.

Fantastic beach, shallow water so great for kids. Sand castle building and ice creams. Car park close to the beach is reasonable and there is a nice cafe for when you come off the beach. A really interesting port to visit, quite a lot goes on with the fishermen coming and going with the tides rolling in and out. Sea bird's are always around searching for food, in and around the harbour, and there are quite a few interesting shops up their busy shopping area. Lot's of cafés and coffee/cake shop's, fish and chip shop's, ice cream parlours, book shop's, butchers, baker's, gift shop's, artist shop's and public houses. There are also sea trips available and, of course, private fishing boats for hire with a captain to look after you.
A beautiful area that's well worth a visit.

Been for a nice walk on the beach with the dogs today. Parked in the car park which took card payment and was £3.50 for two hours. To get to the dog friendly part of the beach don’t head towards the lifeboat station, instead go the opposite way to the west side of the car park and through a small wooded area, this then leads to the beach, up and then down some steps. Once at the beach turn left for the dog friendly area (well sign posted). We then walked for about an hour and ended up at Holkham beach (been here on a previous holiday) we then turned around and headed back. The beach is big and I can imagine in the summer, gets very busy, especially with all the beach huts available, but because of the size, I’m guessing a little walk from the crowded area and you could have a lovely quiet area. When we came (November) it was just people walking their dogs on the beach. The car park had a cafe (didn’t use so can’t comment) and free toilets which were nice and clean. A good dog friendly beach and worth a visit.

A beautiful beach! We stopped here on a weekday afternoon at low tide and with our dog. Designated dog areas to the west of the car park, over a board walk and down onto the beach. What a great place to explore and for the dog to run on the vast sandy beach. Beach huts on stilts sit in front of the dunes. The wooded area makes for a natural shelter from the southerly winds. We will be back soon to walk to the lookout along the coastal path.

Holkham Hall is a magnificent stately home situated in Norfolk, England. The hall is the ancestral home of the Coke family, who still own and reside at the property today. HolkhamHall is one of the most splendid mansions in Britain and is a popular tourist attraction due to its ornate interiors and museum of past times. The hall also features a walled garden and woodland play area.
Great place to visit!
£5 parking fee and then you can explore the whole site!
Walled garden is £5.50 each and is well worth it! There is a lot of restoration and you get the feeling that they are really bothered about restoration for future generations, unlike the National Trust who just seem to chase the £££s
The cafe is great and pretty decent value and the shop has some nice items.
Overall this is well worth it.

We visit here at least once a year to walk our dogs.
Parking is £5 for the day.
Lots of areas to walk or cycle throughout the day.
We saw so many deers and birds on our walk. It was so nice to walk around and see nature without too many people about.
They had food stalls up for the day we went.
It's always so clean, plenty of poo bins and no rubbish in sight. Well looked after.

Lovely place for a walk, cycle or row on the boating lake. Magnificent grounds, lovely scenery and great to see the deers up close. The cafe has plenty of options and the playground is great for the children. If in north norfolk you must try and spend some time here.

What a beautiful place.
Wonderful landscaped grounds.
Great walking paths.
We saw hundreds of deer up close and Personal. We were here for three days with the festival of sport. The evening sunsets are absolutely stunning.

Welcoming staff at the first reception very helpful nothing was to much.. The Walled Garden chap and coffee hut young lady were outstanding. On my return into the gift shop the two staff that wished me well on my walk to the walled garden finished a wonderful visit by being so very kind, caring (at around midday in 12/05/24). Thank you so very much. I will be visiting again very soon.

Beautiful estate and hall that is a great place to spend the day with family or friends. Parked (£5) and explored the Hall as it was open. The stewards were exceptional; knowledgeable without being overbearing, free flow and photos permitted as you go around a selection of guest rooms, hosting rooms (sitting rooms, entry hall etc), and serving quarters including the beautiful kitchen. Got very fortunate with nice weather so spent a good amount of time on the grounds, where it is lamb season! Lots of other wildlife including deer and birds as well. Good selection of tasty food trucks, nice cafeteria available. We got combined tickets (£22) so went to the walled garden, where they're still awaiting most of the blooms as it's early spring (unfortunately freshly fertilized as well). They did have a nice tropical greenhouse at one end, and games and crafts available for Easter weekend. Overall a great place to spend the day, learn some history, and get some exercise in as well.

We had a lovely summer visit here with the kids. There is a great adventure playground with nets, slides etc. (and a coffee hut next to it for tired parents!). The grounds are huge and we did a nice circular bike ride (around 3km, ideal for little legs). Bike hire is available, though we brought our own.
The formal gardens are large and beautifully kept. We enjoyed playing boules and croquet on the lawn, some other garden games were available.
We didn't go in the hall, next time! You could easily fill an afternoon here or a whole day if you visited every part.

You know you are arriving at a grand country house, the drive in is impressive and imposing. We love the contrast and variety of vast parkland, fully restored enormous walled garden, beautiful stately home and abundant wildlife. It is a lovely place to visit again and again.
It's a full day out, for a very generous parking fee of five quid. For that you get miles of walking and cycling tracks, a full adventure playground in the trees, endless pristine parkland, beautiful lakes, herds of deer and wild birds everywhere. Amazing value for a family trip.
The house is lived in, and they open up their estate as a source of income. The very nice cafe, bike hire, high ropes, shops and attractions are priced sensibly and accordingly. It's not a budget venue, but very good value.
The walled garden was opened up for an Easter holiday event for kids. A word hunt kept them running around the carefully planted beds, plus there was a good selection of crafts in the activity centre. Luckily our walk around conceded with one of the Velvetine Rabbit performances. We took our seats and enjoyed the 45minute performance of singing and story telling by an excellent theatre company. Our children were captivated for the full performance, which was due entirely to the skill of the performers. An unexpected high-quality highlight of the Easter event, which again turned out to be excellent value for money.

Wonderful parkland, a must visit if in the area.
Parking £5 for the day. A beautiful walled garden to explore, and so many acres of parkland with deer roaming.
A great cafe with a selection of hot and cold food and drinks, and a lovely gift shop too with lots of beautiful things.
Absolutely love it here.

Such a wonderful building. Full of history. Stunning grounds. It is one of those magical places that gives so much. Beautiful lake to sit and contemplate and clear your mind watching the deer.

Great place for a day out. Plenty to do and see. Especially loved the deer and the walled garden! Gift shop has lots of lovely stuff but is very expensive.

This is the most welcoming beautiful place. The grounds the shop the cafe and the tractor ride are all fantastic and the Hall is amazing. There is a huge herd of deer which you can get very close to. The walled garden is gorgeous. To really appreciate the whole estate you need to make sure you go for the day. The entrance fee is worth every penny.

Lovely large estate to walk around and only £5 to park up all day if you want. Loads of Deer freely roaming, you can easily get 5 miles of comfortable walking in. Nice Cafes, plenty of toilets, great location and good for dogs, on leads.
Sean Hollier — Google review
Beautiful place to think that it's owned by a family. Nicely managed, a lot of sign and clues tell us that the family care about the environment and surroundings. One may think why 3 stars for such a wonderful place? It is rip off for the captive audience who did not bring their picnic. A tray of chips (cheapest thing I could find) was a whooping £6.95! A days rent for a bike with a trailer £140.00! And on and on. Take your own bikes and picnic. Would recommend as long as one does not purchase anything.
Ergun Sahillioglu — Google review
What a great and beautiful place. Its huge! Sadly the house is closed on Wednesdays but the Holkham experience is open and the walled garden, both are a must-see.
There is bicycle hire available, highly recommended as the grounds are massive, the walled garden is 6 acres and a mile from the house,
The cafes all sell good food and drinks and prices are reasonable.
Easily a full day out, probably 2!

Busy today...parking close to the kids play area.
Geese everywhere! A walk to the walled garden past the deer.
The walled garden is spectacular...we hadn't been for 6 years when it was just starting its renovation.
The entry charge was more than we expected, but once inside, the colours are wonderful and if was full of butterflies. The new maze was a winner with the grandkids.

Fabulous grounds, cafe and lots and lots of deer! Often hold events such as food festivals and Christmas visits to the hall! It’s grounds are vast and wonderful to walk or cycle around! Parking available just up from the Victoria hotel and restaurant. Adnams shop just outside, access to beach along the tree lined parking route opposite the hall entrance

Fantastic estate to visit and explore...lots of walks to do and things to see...interesting family history. The kids park was great, the cafe is spacious and not badly priced.
Looking forward to going back in the spring to explore the house and more of the walks...
There is a parking fee of £5.

Great place to visit and just wander around the estate. It's huge so its easy to walk around and spend some hours. Have a coffee at the restaurant, go for a picknick next to the lake, rent a bike, go look for the deer, visit the multiple landmarks or just walk along the grass fields. There is lots to do and see. Entrance is free, parking was 6 pounds for the day when we visited.

Lovely place to visit, massive grounds to explore and cycle around. I didn't go in the hall, as it was a bit expensive just to look at a hall. Happy to just explore the grounds grab a cake and coffee, then cycle to the beach. Plenty of parking too

I’d never been to Holkham Hall before and felt extremely thrilled and privileged that I got the opportunity to see the magical Christmas by Candlelight there in December!
Such a stunning place, with every room exquisitely decorated with a different Christmas theme, even the kitchens. So much thought and detail was put into every decorative display. You could sense the pride that each of the stewards had in ‘their’ room as they explained the origins and reasons for particular objects and artifacts. All in all, I had a thoroughly wonderful evening. I can’t wait to visit again next year.

We went for a self guided walk around their Christmas displays this year and it was stunning. Well worth a visit you have to book tickets beforehand they have different time slots.
You also get time to look around the gift shop and there is also a cafe where you can get hot food and drinks. Included in your ticket is a glass of Prosecco and a mince pie which is a lovely way to finish your visit off.

We recently attended to look at the Christmas lights and decorations. It’s traditional now for the homily to open the house and share their lights.
This is a wonderful event. A great deal of care clearly goes into the design, and the light shows are lovely.
As a delightful pre-Christmas visit, this is a must.
We have also attended for other events. The Christmas fair is also well worth a visit.

At the Dereham Station, which is managed by the Mid-Norfolk Railway Preservation Trust, enthusiasts of railways and steam can appreciate the collection of moving equipment and have the opportunity to travel on vintage trains. The station is conveniently located near Dereham Windmill, where visitors can encounter a holographic miller and enjoy pleasant tea rooms. Additionally, Dereham Memorial Hall offers a diverse range of shows and events throughout the year.
A very nice heritage railway. I particularly liked how Dereham Station was presented and kept! Unfortunately only going as far as Thuxton on my visit due to an issue with a bridge further along the line, but still a very enjoyable ride.

Came here for afternoon high tea , disappointed that the steam engine was not running due to fire risk , but obviously you're still seated in the old style carriages , the service from all the staff that I encountered was of exceptional service , the food was good ( albeit in my opinion , not enough sandwiches , had a 3 tiered plate with all the food on for 4 adults , but it is only 34.50 per person with a train ride , so overall a fair price for what you get ) .
The side of the platform you get the train from is clean and tidy , as were the gift shop and cafe seating area , but the opposite side is a bit of a mess ( but I guess you're there for the train experience , which was excellent 👍).
Good size free carpark , wheelchair friendly premises 😃

Came here this being for The Polar Express Experience.
Honestly was the most amazing experience ever! Was teleported right back into my childhood and felt like I was right in the film and off to see Santa at The North Pole.
The cast were awesome and full of energy with their songs and dances, and the Hot Chocolate and cookie handed out were also really yummy.
Had a quick mooch in the gift shop afterwards but decided against buying anything. Absolutely fantastic experience and I would recommend this to anyone who loves Christmas, and more importantly, The Polar Express!

Fabulous Experience!! This heritage railway is run almost entirely by volunteers; a wonderful group who are pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. Make sure you leave enough time to browse the small but informative museum and sample the small but delicious menu at the station tea shop. The journey from Dereham to Wymondham is filled with treasures along the way and arriving at Wymondham is truly nostalgic. Experiencing the power of steam at such close quarters is an amazing experience and one not to be missed. Highly recommended.

If you like all things Railway, then you'll love the MNR. Obviously heritage railway trips are always a joy, and thankfully we do have a good few in the UK. However, our visit which was great, was made fantastic by the enthusiastic staff / volunteers, who were so friendly and helpful. Our 10 years old Grandson has an absolute passion for trains (all - not just heritage!), and his day was made by the chat about the workings of the signal box. If that made his day though, riding 'shotgun' with Victoria driving the (Pacer) train, and with David (the Guard) in the rear cab, made his year! We had a lovely day. If you do visit, I can recommend the cafe' there. The food (it's a light menu, but includes toasted club sandwiches, chips etc.), and not only are the prices very reasonable, the food is absolutely amazing, and sandwiches come with a large salad garnish, with crisps, and VERY thick bread with lots of filling. They also have a selection of bottled beers - well it would have been rude not to! If you're in our beautiful Norfolk, go visit!
Garry Hobbs — Google review
Mid Norfolk Railway is not as commercial as North Norfolk Railway so you may not have heard of it but it is a gem. What you find is a volunteer run organisation which has a small number of steam and diesel engines - yes a little shabby around the edges but they are of an age. We went on this railway as a treat for my son's 4th birthday. He adored it. He loved the steam train, he loved the old fashioned carriages and the ticket collector! It was as costly as the NNR but it was a hour and half round trip! That's a lot more time on the train for your money! They have specials and events so do check their website out. Overall well worth it!! (Children under 5 are free)

My partner and I had our wedding at the Mid-Norfolk Railway in Dereham, and it was fantastic. Charlie and the team went above and beyond, and the day was magical. We set up on the Friday for a Saturday wedding, had our ceremony at the station and then afternoon tea on the steam train and photos at another station. After, we had our reception in the marquee at the venue, which we were able to decorate with bunting and fairy lights. I highly recommend them as a venue, the team of both employees and volunteers here are brilliant. Well worth your consideration as a venue.

Banham Zoo is a zoo in the town of Banham, Norfolk, England. The zoo has an extensive range of animals including primates, primates and carnivores, birds, reptiles and amphibians. There is also a children's play area and a high-roping adventure playground.
Was surprised to an amazing day out to Banham Zoo for Mother's Day this year! I had never been before and it's such a lovely zoo, we enjoyed the sea lion and cheetah talks throughout the day they were very informative. we had an amazing day out and would definitely return in the warmer summer months! I definitely would love to do a giraffe feeding experience here one day as well.

Another amazing visit, we visited several years ago, this time without grandchildren, we had more time to ponder, sadly thanks to bird flu we didn't get to experience the birds flying, or displaying. But the zoo did not disappoint.
I will be going back again.
It was great being able to hire a mobility scooter, and very reasonably priced.

A great little zoo to visit. Lots of different & interesting animals & some good animal talks too. We got great views of lots of the animals & only a few we couldn't spot. The Pallas's cats were one we'd never seen before. The staff were friendly & welcoming & we got a drink in the cafe later on which was nice. We spent the best part of a whole day here & really enjoyed it.

Even though we’ve been many times Banham Zoo still offers a fantastic day. Highlight of the visit has to be the ring tailed lemur enclosure allowing you to get up close with the animals. Sadly the sky walk was closed today. Friendly and clean 👌

A great small and extra clean zoo. There is abundant free parking and many picnic tables. The size might be a benefit for families with kids visiting, since it is not becoming too tiring visiting the zoo. The ticket includes a free ride with the zoo train offering a fast view of the zoo. Also with 10 pounds you can rent a single or double push stroller. Make sure you go and see the sea lion feeding time it's really nice!

We really enjoyed our day trip to Banham Zoological Gardens. The staff were all smiles & very friendly to us, even when it had been pouring heavily outside. Thankfully, as soon as we arrived, the sun started to shine again.
The animals are well looked after, and the staff do a great job looking after them. Especially loved seeing the sea lions, sloths, penguins, a Tiger and her cubs plus the giraffes and cheetahs. There's a cafe / pizza shop inside where you can eat, drink and have some ice cream. Also noticed a few seating areas around the park should you need to rest your legs from walking. Toilets with baby changing units were available in the foot paths too.
Good sized parking spaces outside too.

Very family friendly. A very good variety of animals including those can be petted. I was glad to see the big cats being active. Surprised to see the camels. Conveniently located shops and toilets for a pit stop with coffee and things to nibble on. Bonus is a nice play park, little train that is gives you a quick tour of the zoo, and also a woodland area for bit of free play. There are trails for walks too. We basically spent a full enjoyable day there. You can save quite a bit if you are able to prebook the tickets few days ahead.

We were visiting locally and looking for things to do, found this place last minute and we were not disappointed. We took advantage of the cheaper winter tickets which was amazing also and managed to get around before the bad weather struck.
We have been to a lot of zoos but we both said it’s the nicest we’ve been to. What struck us immediately is how clean all the habitats are, and how well maintained all the animals are. I’ve never been as close to wild animals as I did today, to be able to see them like that was just spectacular. We had a go on the land train which was a pleasant little ride. All in all a wonderful experience! Thank you so much!

Lovely zoo, which is very well kept. The animals are kept in large enclosures with some monkeys actually able to leave the enclosure and climb trees close by. The only reason I am marking 4 stars is due to all but one of the cafes/restaurants being closed. This led to around a 20mins wait for 2 cups of coffee at the one restaurant open. The poor staff were under so much pressure with a lot of people understandably upset at massive wait times. My advice would be bring a packed lunch and a flask of coffee!

Banham Zoo is a brilliant zoo, the animals are well looked after and fed well, there are different times through out the day which you can watch the animals being fed at and listen to the talks. There are different food locations located around the zoo the get lunch or a quick snack from. There is a lovely little gift shop that you can look around near the entrance and it has a range of different products ranging from t-shirts, stuffed toys to tote bags. There is plenty of parking and the disabled parking is located near front of the zoo.

Bressingham Steam Museum is a Victorian era attraction with lush gardens and antique steam vehicles, including trains and steamrollers. The museum is located in the town of Bressingham in England, and you can either enjoy a day out exploring the collections or take a ride on some of the vehicles. There are also lovely gardens where you can picnic or sit down to enjoy some delicious local produce.
Great place for a day out with children. Loads of parking near entrance. Tesco club card vouchers were accepted for entrance payments. Options for tickets to include train rides or not. Tickets included carousel ride (gallopers) and two different steam train rides. Smaller train ride takes you on views of the gardens. Hot drinks available from outlet as cafe was closed until after April. Lovely museum exhibition including mail rail carriage open to view inside. Dad's army section was good too. Highly recommended for a family visit.

Decent place to come with children of all ages, we spent 4-5 hours here which was plenty. Enjoyed the Dads army museum area- we sat and watched an entire episode!
We all thoroughly enjoyed the two trains on offer yesterday (red and green). The gardens and park were really good too.

There's a lot to see here, but the presentation could be improved. It all seemed a little haphazard.
The sheds felt dingy and underlit, though the exhibits would certainly keep a steam or industrial heritage enthusiast happy.
The narrow gauge train rides were enjoyable, although at one stage we seemed to be passing through a wasteland of garden detritus.
And I'm not sure how I feel about paying a tenner for a ham and pineapple baguette in the cafe.
Hearing the Victorian carousel play Ra-Ra-Rasputin and an ABBA medley was a bonus, though. And the gardens looked lovely.
Clifford M Willett (Cliff) — Google review
A very beautiful place with fantastic gardens that were lit for the light festival, the steam train ride and the gallopers was an extraordinary experience. My only concern was the food franchisee, serving one customer at a time is going to and did cause great ques. Surely they would be able to serve someone, give them a no or a wooden spoon then deliver the food to the table once done instead of waiting for each individual order to be cooked before moving onto the next customer.
Overall a very enjoyable experience

Most beautiful gardens. We have been here many times. 17 acres of gardens. Even bump into Adrian Bloom from time to time, who is wonderfully helpful and always happy to answer a question. Museum is small but packed with fascinating items. Children love the ability to run around and climb on huge trains . Even dancing under the sprinklers in the hot weather. Even provide electric wheelchair for disabled people. Go it's worth it. Don't be put off by price online, day entry without steam rides is only £9.50. worth every penny. Why are you still reading this GO.

Excellent day staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Couldn't find a particular engine I'd come to see and they pointed me in the right direction and then all checked up id found it. The carousel brought back memories and the little ones fun fair was really cute. The traction engines visiting were amazing and the museum interesting for us steam buffs. The narrow-gauge train rides were brilliant too. Can't not mention a good cuppa and sarnie at the cafe.l

Lots of thing to see and do here, fine for adults and children, although on this visit there were an awful lot of the older generation riding on the hobby horses enjoying themselves which was lovely to see and they were almost as well behaved as children..well, almost haha. Lots of information about each train is available with lots of static displays and a nice display about "Dad's Army" the TV show, and they show two episodes which has some vehicles that they have on display. There is a cafe on site which serves steak bakes, sausage rolls, cakes, jacket potatoes and various drinks etc. All in all, a good day out, you can ride the miniature steam trains throughout the day and have at least 3 goes on the merry go round....Go, take your time and enjoy....

Lovely place to spend a day out. We went for their fire engine day...it was fantastic. The only downside was the run down outdoor mini "arcade" and mini golf, but overall the gardens were beautiful, the sound of the stem engines and rides made up for it. It's a great day our for all ages.

Nice day out. Lots of information about the trains and a nice exhibition about dad's army.
The gardens were amazing. Trains ran to a timetable but as it got busy they ran in demand. A couple of trains were having mechanical issues which meant that queues on the other trains grew quickly.
The ticket included 3 rides in the gallopers and unlimited rides in the trains, as well as access to the gardens.

The estate features displays of royal life and 400 acres of country park and gardens. It is an enjoyable visit with staff who are very knowledgeable about the history of the property. The afternoon tea offered at the estate is perfect with beautiful amuse bouches and attentive good fun staff.
Great day out giving a fascinating insight into the history of the house following its purchase by Edward VII. Staff were friendly, helpful and well informed both in the house and the gardens. Stopped off in the courtyard for ice cream then had a walk around the shop and garden centre and bought a few plants to bring home with us. Such a lovely day out would highly recommend.

Great to see the house in its actual setting rather than staged such as Buckingham Palace. Some impressive rooms. Guides inside were brilliant by giving insight about the origins of the decor. Would recommend.

Have visited many times last visit was for the flower show that was attended by the King and Queen. Was well organised and parking was included. Show was a lovely day out. The grounds were open and included in the ticket price. Dogs allowed around the show stalls, country park and the house grounds, house grounds only open to dogs on this day usually they are not. Shop is dog friendly but restaurant is not.

Beautiful gardens and a lovely house. The gardens are well stocked with a variety of tree types, shrubs and flowers ranging from more formal areas to wilder spots.
The area of the house open is part of the ground floor and in the words of a guide "everything you see is what the family have and use when they are in residence."
It was great to see the interior and hear it's development over the years.

Brilliant place. Lovely for a long and adventurous walk through the woods and the house and gardens are lovely too (you have to pay to access the house and gardens although children up to 17 are free!). Cafe is very nice as well and there is a lovely gift shop. Well worth a visit.

Wonderful visit to what feels like a family home. The house staff are so knowledgeable and an absolute delight to speak with - full of little surprising facts and tidbits. And back at the restaurant, the afternoon tea is perfectly judged with gorgeous amuse bouches and very attentive, good fun staff. Our mouths were very amused. Nice selection of teas which keep coming.
A wonderful afternoon at a very special place.
Thanks for having us!

Lovely surroundings and dog walks. Dogs allowed in the park cafe and shop but not in the gardens or house. Still a great place to go on a sunny day. The children's playground is amazing. Parking is reasonably priced and plenty of room.

Beautiful visit in stunning grounds. So much history as well. Play park for the kids was superb. House and gardens stunning. The guides in the house so knowledgeable and really made the day with their personable attitude

House tour would have been nice to see more rooms than 3 and a room with paintings. Was in there 10 mins, and then there was the exit door. The gardens made up for it. It was lovely and had some really nice photos of me and my husband. Would visit the gardens again. The staff were helpful and polite. Coffee was lovely too.

Gorgeous scenery! Heaven on earth in spring/summer when all the flowers start to open up. You could spend all day here. The cafe and ice cream here are very good, too.

Beautiful gardens and building. The interior was outstanding, and the audio guide was invaluable in bringing the experience to life. It's worth every penny of the entry fee.

Was really good, cafe is expensive and would advise taking own snacks but the childrens play area was brilliant and the walk ways were good compared to most woods we have been to. Maple the dog had the best time

Wonderful walks, with a gravel path for easy access, or off the beaten track paths. Has a shop, tea room, and bus stop. Parking is now paying.

Amazing park! We drove from Bury and spent over 4 hours there. The park is HUGE and my kids had a blast. Just some notes: there is a cafe, restaurant, ice cream shop, and a store, there are plenty of picnic tables by the cafe area. Facilities are very clean. There is seating withing the play area for parents, but no dogs allowed in the playground, so I found a spot in the giant field just outside of the play area. Next time I will definitely bring a blanket or some folding chairs. There were also trails, but we did not partake this time.

A nice place to visit and see the house and grounds. Unfortunately there isn't an awful lot to do as the house is closed to guests. There is a nice tea room for food and a gift shop.

For £23pp there is precious little extra to see compared to free to access area. Only a few rooms in the ground floor are accessible to visitors. Grounds seemed a little parched probably due to the drought. Restaurant is great but lacking in options.

Very special place. Unique pieces, whether artwork or furniture, and history abound.
We caught the free “golf” cart up to the estate, walked through the 9 rooms that are part of the house tour, and proceeded to the old horse stables for a spot of lunch. Some old royal cars and fire engines are displayed at the stables also. Loads to see and the tour guides that are dotted around the house are very knowledgeable and helpful. Lots of the garden and playground areas are doggy friendly. Not to be missed!

The house is full of beautiful things and the tour guides are great, essential even, so knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
The grounds and lake are beautiful.
£23 for house and garden was a bit expensive, especially because the garden by the house is currently off-limits.

A super day out! Interesting house and lovely gardens. They are currently displaying a collection of the King's watercolour paintings which are fantastic. They also offer an audio tour guide which is worth having. A couple of cafes to choose from as well as a restaurant and not too expensive. Outside of the house grounds you can also visit the church where the Royal Family go for Christmas as well as a couple of nice walks around the woods.
Best to buy tickets in advance as you need to book a time slot.

What a fantastic place to visit. A beautiful house and the most amazing woodlands with a great outdoor adventure playground for the young ones. A great place to walk the dog, to look inside of one of the Kings homes. Ensure you have a look in the shop and if your hungry then food is available at reasonable prices. Alternatively you could bring a picnic and eat it in this beautiful estate.

Fabous Park / estate. The house is surprisingly homely. A lot of gorgeous crockery, etc, is on display, which I imagine is put away when no royals in residence.
The Christmas market was mainly food but all very atmospheric.
Sandringham always worth a visit. And second one third one...

Amazing place to visit. We were there all day. You can spend as long as you like in the private gardens (but arrive for your booking into the house on time). The staff inside the house were very knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting information, even things like where the Christmas tree goes and showed us the piano that the Princess of Wales (Catherine) & Princess Eugenie plays at Christmas. Saw a lovely exhibition of King Charles paintings of all the royal residents too. Also the private church that the royal family worship in at Christmas was open for visitors and it was small but beautiful inside. Outside the private gardens is a cafe, restaurant, shop and ice cream shop, a huge play area for children and the huge Sandringham park to explore. I would recommend and will return

Could not access the house or gardens as we had our dog with us. My wife visited and was thrilled. I walked the grounds and forest at the car parks and surprised what is available to see. Good restaurant, cafe and shop, all can be accessed by disabled. Plenty of picnic tables. Good experience

Lovely location , just a lovely walking area , the wood's were outstanding . Great play area for the kid's .
Unfortunately I didn't notice that Dog's aren't allowed in the Garden's . I bought a ticket for the House and Garden for my wife and a Garden ticket for me and my Beautiful Dog . The walks in the other grounds compensated my Mistake of not reading properly .
Recommend a visit .
The Gooderstone Water Gardens & Nature Trail is a beautiful outdoor destination where individuals who appreciate nature can enjoy a delightful afternoon. Families can take a leisurely stroll in this stunning location, which requires an obligatory entry fee of six pounds. A card machine manned by staff is available at the entrance. The area offers visitors plenty to see, including otters and other natural attractions that make it an outstanding place for nature lovers.
This is a excellent place to go for a lovely family walk. It is £6 entry this is mandatory. There is a card machine on the entry point which is manned. One of the best places in the area to walk and see otter. Outstanding place of natural beauty. It has a tearoom and plenty of outdoor seating overlooking the numerous lakes and rivers.

Quiet location. Very tranquil. Seating located around the grounds. We went early spring so difficult to judge the flower/plant displays. Includes a bird hide overlooking water with possible sighting of a kingfisher. Also a 'nature trail' - a walk through a couple of fields with trees ;quite damp and muddy in places. Plant labelling could be improved I think. Nothing particularly exotic or exciting but it was early season. Some lovely weeping willows and mature displays of bamboo. Tea garden and toilets and a couple of gift marquees.

Recently discovered this lovely hidden gem.
Dog friendly with lots of paths. Lovely ponds and water features, bridges, tons of birds. A fabulous experience.
Its 8/adult, but a season pass is 30. So it pays for itself quickly! If you change your mind at any time about doing a season pass, just give them your visit ticket and they'll apply it towards the cost.
Also, during normal hours, they have a sweet little cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating. When I visited last, they even had a few vendors selling giftables and crafts.

Nestled in deepest darkest Norfolk lies Gooderstone Water Gardens. Which is 6 acres in size and has plenty to see.
The gardens are beautiful and there are plenty of places for you to sit quietly and contemplate, read a book etc.
Lots of wildlife around which is lovely to watch when it wasn't raining. Listening to the waterfalls around as well was relaxing.
£8 pp to get in and children under 16 get in for free. There are concessions available as well.
Also toilets which were clean and a small tea room selling teas, cakes and ice creams.
Definitely worth a visit if you're out that way on a sunny day.

A lovely place to visit for a quiet, relaxing stroll, took my father (in his 90's) for an afternoon out, the main gardens are reasonable under foot, though you do need to look out for tree roots, though dad got round with his "walker" with little (if any) trouble, we managed to get to the Kingfisher hide, though unfortunately, the Kingfishers didn't oblige, he even braved the wild garden, which is a bit more uneven, then we finished the visit off with an ice cream frome the cafe/shop.
Well worth a visit.

The St, Gooderstone, King's Lynn PE33 9BP, United Kingdom
The Oxburgh Estate is a charming medieval manor house steeped in Catholic heritage. It features a hidden room for priests, as well as a chapel and scenic woodland trails. Situated amidst a moat, it is an equally popular attraction to St. Margaret's Church for those interested in the royal-Gothic architecture of the region. Nature enthusiasts will enjoy exploring Snettisham Park or the Gooderstone Water Gardens & Nature Trails nearby, while history buffs can visit Castle Rising.
This place was great, their is works going on to improve the building but this doesn't stop you that much enjoying the gardens and the house. A number of nice walks around the house and longer walks available, you can get a map from the hut to left after you get in. We went with a picnic but there is a cafe on site and a really nice looking pub just over the road next to a new play park for the kids.

The upstairs rooms were not ready for viewing when this visit took place, so I suspect from what was mentioned by the guide, it would be worthy of a higher rating when opened. The church was also closed.
There was a free talk by a guide, which lasted nearly an hour and was very informative. Jane, the guide, walked the group around the house taking us through the centuries of the house and family's fortune.
The talk, with more rooms open, could easily elevate this to a better rating. Guides were all very friendly and the garden was lovely too.
It had a free car park, cafe and toilets.

This is a lovely moated historical house. Nice coffee/snack shop and large second hand bookshop that collects money for national trust. The day we visited (Easter Sunday 2024) was busy. But because the weather wasn't brilliant the surrounding area wasn't suitable for walking, so only had a quick walk around house gardens. Imagine it's very pretty in summer months.

Called in on our way to Kings Lynn. Despite the Hall being closed and still under scaffolding, the grounds were beautifully kept. Borriwed a wheelchair and found a path through a planting of mixed daffodils into the woodland towards the church, which we hadn't discovered before. The cafe in the car park had a good range of snacks and cakes too.

Absolutely stunning, beautiful building and estate. I'm glad we were able to see it without scaffolding. It is a magnificent piece of living history!
Would have been 5 stars but for a couple of things... None of which would prevent me from visiting again, and hopefully they will be resolved fairly soon!
1. There was no gift shop. We love buying magnets for our fridge from the places we've visited, and we were unable to get one from Oxburgh Hall.
2. Maps of the property are available, and they have suggested walks. One of the start/end points of one of the walks was closed due to storm damage. An alternate route was suggested via a chalk board, but wasn't very clear and wasn't well signposted, so we got a little lost.
All being told, I would highly recommend a visit. Particularly if you are a National Trust member.
We had immense fun playing Garden Croquet, and practicing a little archery all guided by one of the fantastic volunteers that helps to keep this amazing building alive!

We visited the estate on a Saturday afternoon. The site is part of the National Trust. If you're a member parking and entry are covered in your annual fees. The Estate and grounds are very well maintained and a wonderful place to spend time learning a bit of history and touring the extensive grounds. A moat surrounds the home. The staff are polite and helpful and the volunteers were knowledgeable. There are miles of walking paths, a Catholic Chapel (still in operation) and two places for drinks, sandwiches, and treats. If you are in the area, this is a nice place to visit and spend time with family, kids, and take those visiting.

07-07-2023 Lovely grounds and gardens, amazing property with moat. All the usual NT amenities.
This is our first return after many years and we waited until the restorations to the roof was complete and the scaffolding had gone.
The weather was hot and there are lots of places to sit in the shade and enjoy the view. As ever, in Norfolk, the skies are spectacular.
The vegetable garden was lovely to see, with lots of fruit and veg, not quite ready to harvest.
Just one disappointment, not as much of the house was available to view as I remember and the tapestries were being restored so not available to see when we visited.

Belongs to the National Trust so if you are a member then entrance is free. Disabled car parking. Large car park. The house is well worth a visit with staff who are very well informed. The grounds are extensive with lots of walks or sit on a chair and watch the world go by. At the moment the Snow Drops are out, took a picture but does do them justice. This was our first visit to Oxburgh Hall and we cannot wait to return. The Hall itself is beautifully maintained, with plenty to see. The grounds were covered in snowdrops at the time of our visit and looked absolutely amazing. We cannot wait to return in the spring and see the Hall and gardens then.
Just be warned, that depending on the weather at the time of your visit, you may need wellies as some parts of the grounds do tend to get a bit muddy.
There is free parking onsite, a cafe, a gift shop and a secondhand book shop. There are toilets but they can get quite busy at peak times.

Had a fantastic day to mark Mother’s Day with my tribe. I took my 2 kids who are 6 and 4 on the treetop adventure with my husband. Despite the rain we had a wonderful time. I was so impressed with how brave both kids were. All staff are professional, friendly and helpful with a special thanks to Cameron (I believe that’s his name, had a northern accent) who was superb ⭐️ He really helped my kids feel comfortable and at ease. He especially helped my 4 year old who was getting wet and cold by offering her his gloves and giving her a helping hand. I really appreciated his kindness. So proud of her for doing the zip line. We’ll be back again for the treetop adventure plus. Thank you 😊

We were helped by the magnificent Lewis who helped my daughter get round despite her significant misgivings. The Treetop Adventure is quite high so be aware but the team are lovely and will give lots of encouragement. The zip wires are much fun and were repeated. A fab family afternoon adventure at High Lodge in the heart of Thetford forest, staff was extremely helpful and informative. All family had a great time, definitely something for all ages. A note, our 5 old year had put on he’s harness but then came a little overwhelmed by the height, a member of the team was very encouraging but our son still decided he didn’t want to go up, they happily offered a refund for this. Highly recommended, definitely we be back again very soon.

Had a great time at Go Ape Thetford. The course was challenging but achievable for us, and we are reasonably active but did not have any climbing experience. We took our time going through the course, and it took us around two hours to complete. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the comprehensive safety briefing made sure that we felt confident throughout the activity.
The surroundings are beautiful and there are trails you can go biking or walking on after finishing at Go Ape. There are also free toilet facilities and a drinking water tap to fill bottles. The cafe serves hot food, including burgers and macaroni cheese, as well as sandwiches and pastry items. Parking is a bit steep at £3 an hour, but we received a voucher from the Go Ape staff for free parking the next time we go.
Overall, we enjoyed it a lot and would consider going to other Go Ape sights around the country.

Very fun (if a little terrifying) adventure through the trees. The initial safety explanation is succinct and engaging, and then you're left to have fun clambering across shaky bridges and tightropes.
We then spent the rest of the day exploring Thetford Forest, which included playing some adventure golf, and taking part in orienteering.
If the weather's on your side, this is a really great way to spend the day! 🌲🐒

We went earlier this month and was my youngest child's first time ever doing anything like this. He went with his big sister and dad. The introduction instruction was good and the course nice and exciting. I felt supervision could be better. We were quite late in the day and felt we were just left to get on with it. My youngest came down the zip wire from the junior course and struggled to unclip himself. Off course his dad couldn't follow as per rules and his sister couldn't go up and help as per the rules. He was of course getting distressed. In the end his sister went up and got yelled at by the boy who eventually arrived to help and as a result my youngest didn't want to do the plus bit of the course we had paid for.
Overall.good, maybe we got.a bum deal.going so.late as staff were.packing down and waiting for everyone to finish so they could close the site down for the evening. Wouldn't go again until the youngest (who is 9, so not a baby but has some delays) is more able to fend for himself as staff certainly were not on hand to help which you would entirely expect at the bottom of a zip line!

An excellent afternoon, two adults, a 10yr old and a 12yr old climbing, hanging, swinging, sliding and having a good laugh. The zip lines were our favourites but we enjoyed the entire course.
The instructors and marshalls were very good and quickly dealt with two high level rescues of people whilst we were there, the team were extremely professional and very fast to administer first aid and perform rope rescues of the people from high in the trees, their training shone through, they are all a credit to the business.
A massive confidence builder for kids and adults alike, we'll be back to go again in the summer.

If you're not scared of heights and love a physical challenge, this place is fantastic! You're in charge of your own safety, with a whistle to call someone over for help, but otherwise you're on your own, which made the experience for me!! It's not cheap though, and it was a real sting when we were also charged £3 per hour for parking, on top of the £30-£40 per person charge for the experience!

Me and my boyfriend went to Go Ape and completed the challenge plus treetop trail and it was brilliant! Will definitely be back to explore more of the forest!

Lovely location, nice play park for the little ones. Treetop challenge was definitely great fun. Kinda wish to have upgraded to challenge +. Either way, it was worth it. The only downside is parking, going into double digits ££ fairly quickly.

Nice afternoon out & if your a regular bird watcher worth joining, great main viewing area & café with lovely views over the water both sides of the footbridge. Bird feeding is at about 15.30 in front of main hide, nice walks around the wetlands in the better weather.

Even with winter arriving it's still a beautiful time to visit the lovely show of swans being fed at 3-30pm and the floodlit one I went to at 6-30pm. Very informative talk before and during feeding, not just about the swans but also the whole philosophy of the founder Sir Peter Scott. Photography is very tricky with open hides available but with low light you will need a high ISO
setting and a bit of luck with the shutter speeds, Not to mention good software. managed to get a few half decent shots.

We had a lovely afternoon here. We saw birds we had not seen before. At the time we visited, the place was alive with dragonflies. The visitor centre is lovely and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Whatever age you are, you must visit the children's activity room. It is also called the pond room. It is inspired in design and inspiring.

A great place to visit. We're new to the area and loved the very large and warm(!) viewing area. Stayed for one of the winter swan feeds and it is amazing to see all these visiting and sometimes unusual birds up close. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Signed up for a membership as we plan to visit throughout the year.
Went back for a second visit to walk around Lady Fen and came face to face with a short eared owl on the ground watching us very closely only 10m away. We counted 3 separate individuals flying around as well as marsh harriers near the Friend's Hide out in the Wash.

Great cafe with a lovely view of the bird feeders, we saw tree sparrows and reed buntings from the cafe. We didn't do the whole walk, but the hides had good views.

Brilliant day at Welney on the final day of out Norfolk Tour. Staff were very helpful and facilities here are excellent (and warm!)
Great to see Tree Sparrows on the feeders, Spotted Redshank, Red Kite, Marsh Harriers, Cattle, Little and Great Egrets and of course the Whooper Swans and Ducks. Male Scaup was a nice bonus. Will no doubt be back next year!

Brief visit early afternoon today. Unfortunately all the paths to the hides over the bridge were flooded but we saw hundreds of Pochards very close to the main Observatory Hide, a few Whooper Swans, Lapwings and Black Tailed Godwits. Had a really tasty Vegetarian Curry Chick pea pastie with baked beans for lunch.

Nice place, it's pretty much all in a straight line, which is good if you have a talent for getting lost. Saw my first whooper swan so that was a tick in the box! Plus a group of cranes and quite a few great egrets too. Loads of dragonflies and red admiral butterflies.

Went to watch the swan feed, was a little disappointed with the amount of swans, but that was due to walking pass a wet land with alot of swans on to get the feeding water with at most 10 swans on, hundreds of ducks, the talk itself was very informative and I did enjoy a lovely sunset.

Hi visited on 1Jan 2024 and started with some sunshine which was nice. Amazing place with excellent staff who explained everything that was going on during the day. The main viewing hide is probably one of the best I’ve seen and well worth a visit on its own. Heated inside comfortable seating ideal for families with children. We had the chance of a hare walk and much to our surprise saw several and some Roe deer. Dave took us round and he looked after us and some young children very well. Excellent cafe by the way.
It was very wet when we went round I would recommend taking wellies for adults and especially children if you have them just in case.

This is an amazing place for nature. It is the epitome of peace and tranquility. Upon arrival I was a little concerned that almost all the visitors were 50+ and mostly men and I was visiting with my family including two young children. As such I felt somewhat out of place but I needn't have. Welney Wetland Centre is suitable for everyone of any age and ability. There are very welcoming of children. They have amazing backpacks that children can borrow while they are visiting which include bird identification charts, small binoculars. bug pots with magnifying lens as well as sheets with crayons to do brass rubbings at various intervals around the centre. My children absolutely loved them and it made the visit all the more enjoyable.
Most of the main part of the centre is very accessible, probably even in a wheelchair. There was a section in a lesser used part that was very muddy and there were sections closed of due to breeding I believe but there was plenty to see in the main area that was open.
A great place to experience peace, beauty and above all birds and I would heartily recommend this place to all people.

Braintree Village is a shopping center with outlet stores offering popular fashion, perfume, and home & kitchen brands. It's a hotspot for serious shoppers seeking international brand deals. The district also offers family-friendly activities like catching a film, bowling, and trying the climbing wall at Namco. Visitors praise the good selection of shops with great bargains and many dining options. The village is easy to navigate and not overly crowded, making it an enjoyable experience for shoppers.
A nice outlet - not too big but a great range of shops, from high street (M&S) to higher end (Ralph Lauren/Hugo Boss). Has plenty of places for a coffee pit-stop and also has cinema/restaurants across from it if you wanted to make a full day of your trip (that's if you don't spend the whole day shopping!!)
Lauren Robinson — Google review
Nice spacious outlet! There’s plenty of places for you to park and we had a great time as it wasn’t crowded or that busy for a Sunday afternoon.
It’s great for walking around due to there being zebra crossings in the right areas. Braintree is so well managed, with plenty of stores. Stores you didn’t even think you’d like to see like Haribo.
It’s a good change from Bicester Village if you’re looking for an outlet that isn’t focused on luxury goods.
Helen Bui — Google review
Good outlet.
Around 1 hour and half driving from central of london.
Also, in the back of the outlet there is many big stores like Next, T.k.max, sport direct and more.
There also cinema and namco entertainment.
Ahmed — Google review
Nicely laid out outlet mall. Not massive and not that many shops. Typical stores you would expect to find in a UK outlet mall.
Prices are nothing special but again not too different from what you get at any outlet mall in UK.
If you are used to shopping at outlet malls in the UK then you will be very pleased visiting. If you are used to shopping in the US then you will be quite disappointed with the prices and number of shops.
Tuoyo-E — Google review
Great place for all your shopping needs especially clothing, footwear etc. Good range of designer outlets, with great deals.
As all the shops are on ground level hence no problems for wheel chair users.
There are a few car parks which are free to park for six hours. Food outlets are close to carpark.
Overall a good place to spend a day shopping and finding some great deals.

Nice selection of small stores. Christmas decorations were very nice. Not entirely outlet prices tbh. You can find same deals cheaper online. But the beauty store was the bomb !

Decent shopping mall with good brands to choose from. The free parking for 6 hours is a bonus. The customer service team prompt in answering queries. The food options weren’t particularly bad, but tolerable brands. Overall the staff in most of the shop were relaxed and friendly.

Really enjoyed my trip, great selection of shops 👌 easily found my way around. I found it more realistic than other outlet centres as it offers more retailers at a sensible price level rather than just the top notch designers taking the majority of the units.

Nice little day out. Different from usual. Had a lot of good deals. I've got myself a pair of shoes from nike. But needs a more variety of shops with lower price ranges but this place is more of outlets so always find something

Good selection of shops with good bargains , many nice places to eat. It’s not big so easy to navigate, you can’t miss any stores. The staff were very polite and friendly in every shop. We spent about 4 hours there on Saturday, it wasn’t crowded at all. I didn’t have a car as it was serviced in the nearby garage so I particularly liked “drop it” facility offered in Guest Services unit. We were able to leave our shopping bags there and continue shopping without extra “baggage “. The young man in Guest Services was extremely helpful and polite. I will definitely return.

A very good shopping outlet in Braintree. Around 75 shops with many designer shops here including Hackett, Tommy Hilfiger, Hollister, Adidas and Boss. There is an M&S clothing store as well as a food store. Also many places to eat and drink. There is plenty of parking. Opening hours are 10am-6pm Monday - Friday 10am-5pm on Sunday and 9am-7pm on Saturday.

I wouldn't go back. First impressions were positive...easy to get to by car and good parking. But walking into the 'village', you're hit by the fact it feels soulless...like on the verge of closing down. Admittedly I went on a day when the weather wasn't great in Oct...but still.
Prices are generally not good value such that you'd prob be better shopping on the high street. The stock definitely feels like it was outlet stock. If you're after a specific item you need like a coat you'd be OK, but anything else just isn't attractive enough to catch your eye if you're browsing for a bargain. Some shops hit and miss...like they can't be bothered welcoming you...guess they don't mind going bankrupt then.
So in summary...not worth making a special trip to unless you lived in Braintree! 💯

Great Notley Country Park, located in Braintree, Essex, is a vast public parkland that offers an array of activities suitable for the entire family. In addition to a bistro serving delicious meals, visitors can engage in horse riding and cycling along the designated paths, or partake in bird-watching or fishing for those seeking a more serene experience. The park also boasts numerous sports fields ideal for football enthusiasts; children can enjoy play areas while adventurers can test their courage on the famous sky ropes.
Lovely area of nature, with lots of playground bits spread out throughout the park. Our littlun loved riding her bike around discovering more and more exciting things to play on. Great for adults & kids alike with a nice cafe near the car park side
Ben Slater — Google review
Excavations in Great Notley revealed the remains of Iron Age and Roman settlements with a series of enclosures overlaid with a Roman development on the site of the Skyline Business Park. It is thought that there was a series of occupations on the site from the late Iron Age onwards, which included brewing, farming and the production of textiles.
Great Notley Country Park however is relatively new, having been created from the remnants of Gt Notley Village when it was developed as part of the new 'self-sustaining' garden village.
It has grown up with the community surrounding it, and is quite unique in that its wildflower meadows, lakes and other landmarks were created from scratch and over the years have grown and developed in to what you see today.
Whether you're an adventurer at heart or just want to relax and unwind in Essex's beautiful countryside, Great Notley Country Park offers the perfect day out for all the family.
Covering 100 acres of open space the park is home to Sky Ropes, the fun, family friendly high ropes adventure course as well as Essex’s longest kid’s play trail.
Jump, swing, slide, crawl and climb your way around 1.2km of fun including giant seesaws, swing scales, rope climbers, slides, forts and a large sand play area.
Looking for something a bit quieter? The park also offers some lovely areas to explore and enjoy nature including a fishing lake and wildflower meadows. It’s popular for a wide range of activities including birdwatching, walking, cycling, fishing, horse riding, football, picnics and kite-flying.
Read our summer Wildflower Walks blog to find out more about what you can spot.
Great Notley Country Park is delighted to have been awarded Green Flag status again this year as well as being nominated for the Fields in Trust Award for Best UK Park.

The café currently offers outdoor seating and takeaways, serving a range of sandwiches, snacks and drinks, with menus changing seasonally. This includes a selection of ice cream flavours, perfect for hot summer days, and coffee and hot chocolate for when you need to warm up.

Had a great time with our nieces who were down from Leeds.
They enjoyed using the play area, & were down while the inflatables were on, so they enjoyed the added bonus of that.
Our dog also enjoyed the walk.
Sadly only one thing let down the park. The lack of waste bins, we didn't find any. (Only the ice cream van had a black bag). The dog waste bins were overflowing with human rubbish.
There were empty plastic bottles & sandwich wrappers scattered around.
We obviously repacked our rubbish into our picnic bag & took it home. Unfortunately not everyone did!
Happy to pay the parking charges for the upkeep of the park, but to have no bins isn't good.

If you're in South Essex thinking this will be a bit of a drive, you'll find it's well worth it. For pre school kids this will be a wonderland they don't want to leave especially on a school day when it's quiet. For older kids it's a constant adventure and young teens a nice place to hang out. Thoughtfully laid out play areas are dotted around the site. For adults it's got fantastic views, great to exercise and cycle, dog friendly, I've even seen a horse riding club up trooping around. The slopes and mounds make a walk or run more of a challenge. Perfect for picnics and it also has a cafe. Freeport with an abundance of restaurants is a 7 min drive away. In all its a good spot to spend your time, visit!!!

Perfect size park with different kinds of playgrounds spread across the whole park which makes the experience even more fun for the kids.
It's not 5 stars because the cafe was closed during the bank holiday, sky rope was also closed and the football pitches were only available after paying quite expensive fees.
Car park fees were not cheap but reasonable, especially if you plan to stay more than 4 hours.
Worth the visit.

I’d have given 4/5 but the toilets were closed! Yes, closed and in a public area too. Many pathways need attention as there are some dangerous parts especially for cyclists especially if you are elderly like my wife and I who enjoy cycling. Other than these gripes, a very pleasant recreational area for all ages.

Small child loved the play trail and the Sky Ropes! Cafe was closed, but worth looking at Cafe Plaza just south of the park if you're planning on eating- spend £9.50 in the cafe and you get free parking for the entire day (and the country park parking charges are HIGH!)

RHS Garden Hyde Hall is a site managed by a horticulture charity, featuring a bold and impressive Dry Garden with architectural plants. The garden also houses a bird hide, making it an ideal spot for birdwatching enthusiasts. It is well-suited for families as evidenced by the number of visitors who bring their children along to explore the grounds. Special events such as flower shows and Glow are held at regular intervals, providing even more opportunities for entertainment.
It is very well said, " A beauty is joy for ever". Must visit this place, if you like visiting gardens, love open green places.
The Garden Hall has very good facilities even for people having difficulty in walking. Very clean and green huge garden, children play area, cafeteria, restaurants, toilet facilities. Very friendly staff members. The staff 's hard work and their love towards the nature can be seen clearly.

Been to the RHS Hyde Hall 3-5 times. Always had a brilliant time going there and never gets old or boring. Went to a couple of special events, the flower show and Glow. We take our 2 year old and she loves running around the grounds.
There is a garden centre, cafe and plenty of amenities for staying the day. The cafe does Vegan and Veggie food too, which is a plus for us and is very nice.
Things for improving, but only because we have them would be Electric car charge points for visitors coming further afield. Lots of parking otherwise.
The photos and videos posted are of our night at Glow.

I became a member a couple of years ago as it’s great value for money with just a couple of visits with free entry, discounted event tickets and more perks too. Hyde Hall is stunning, an ever changing landscape that means that every time you go there’s something different to see and experience. The big site with bordering woodlands and diverse plant life means you can easily spend a half day here, with good toilet facilities, a great cafe (if not a little slow sometimes - but it’s to be expected on busy days - but the service is friendly and the food is great!). Coffee here is good too. Most recent visit was for the Glow event, and lit up after dark it brings a whole new dimension - the trail was varied and winding with audio in some places too. A perfect winter event experience, with great mulled wine as well.

Beautiful gardens, with lots to see. Very family friendly, with picnic areas and lots of benches everywhere. The cafe at the entrance is lovely for children's food, and basic cafe food (I had a cheese scone- delicious.) There is also a lovely restaurant in the centre of the gardens, where the food smelled great. The gardens themselves were very diverse, with great use of landscaping and sculpture. Depending on how long you want to be there, it takes about a couple of hours to walk around at a leisurely potter.
There is a well stocked shop that sells lots of plants and pots as well as lovely gifts, cards and homewares. Staff were friendly and polite and the loos were clean. I went in half term and it didn't feel particularly crowded despite the car park being nearly full.

A lovely visit to Hyde Hall in early August, after many years, with a friend who volunteers there. It was the annual show & excellent to see all the stalls. Had a walk around part of the gardens. This is a lovely place to visit for a walk, explore, and perhaps a bite to eat. We enjoyed the beautiful gardens and then had tea in the Hilltop cafe with wonderful views of the surrounding area.
Admission is fairly expensive at £13 (without giftaid donation) per adult, but you can see the investment goes into maintaining this site and its facilities. Plenty of toilets, baby changing rooms, seating areas (indoor and out), and areas to find peace and tranquillity.
The restaurant is pleasant, with lots of seating. The usual snacks, cakes, and beverages are on offer at the expected prices.
A lovely few hours spent here, we look forward to another visit for one of the many events/exhibitions they have throughout the year.

A good sized garden/grounds for walking about in, with a restaurant and couple of cafes (depending on the season). Staff here are super friendly and knowledgeable, with a great shop (the RHS plants tend to be a bit more expensive than other places, but the quality is normally always there too). Not as big as RHS Wisley, but this way you can cover the whole estate, and they have a great variety of gardens. Bird song wad in abundance in early Spring here! Have been several times.

If youre a fan of naval history, or just want to learn more about the navy, then youll definitely want to visit the Historic Dockyard Chatham. You can explore the docks and see some of the most influential ships in British history, including a WWII Destroyer, a Cold War submarine, and a Victorian Sloop. The museum is valid for one year and has free roam so you can explore as much as you like.
Haven't been here in nearly 30 years, and I must say, it was as enjoyable now as it was then.
A no rush walk around for all the family.
We had cream teas in the Mess House and it was lovely.

Excellent place, our second visit. Note arrive early as there is lots to see plus book visiting slots for the rope walk and submarine. I did not do the submarine this time as not not as agile. However there are a few ships old and modern you can walk around. There are lifts to some areas in site but not ship or submarine obviously.
Great big life boat section and non dockyard items that can be viewed as well. Some items you can try to feel the hands on experience. Great models with all the ships for the battle of the River plate. Etc. Great cafe and the soup was delicious 😋

We had such a good visit! Wish we'd left more time to explore as plenty to look at!
I wimped out on the submarine tour as I have a bad back and didn't want to try crouching through the holes but my 6'6" partner managed it fine!
Your ticket is valid for a year and unlimited? visits.
Parking super easy and free, few dodgy holes in the overflow car park though 😅
We got a nice sandwich, crisps and drink in the tea room, it was about £7 each.
Not sure what was on for the children, as it was kind of a date day.
All in all recommend it as a trip out, going to go back at some point but make it a whole day trip and not a few hours like we ended up doing!

My trip to the Dockyard was for the Call the Midwife tour but I have to say Dockyard staff were lovely and you can tell they really do love their jobs.
The Call the Midwife tour was fantastic. Irene who was the tour guide was amazing and she knew so much about the show. It was nice stepping into 1950s-60s Poplar and finding out how certain parts of the show was filmed. The highlight was the room full of props and sets just for those on the tour.
The tour is 90 minutes and you are walking the whole time so wear sensible shoes but I highly recommend going on the tour.

Absolutely loved our day here with the kids, there is so much to do, we didn't get to do everything we wanted to. So we're glad our tickets last a whole year !! We'll definitely be returning during the summer holidays. We enjoyed our ropery tour, the lady who did it was lovely, funny and informative and kept the kids entertained! Then to the submarine tour which was also amazing, the gentleman who did that was really kind, I suffer with claustrophobia so was really scared about going in and he was very kind about it all and said I can exit whenever I want to. The whole experience was worthwhile.

Had such an excellent day here. Booked the Call the Midwife walking tour for Easter Sunday. This was highly informative and took us to parts of the dockyard that I probably would not have ventured to otherwise. Reading about it beforehand I was deeply underwhelmed by the idea of the Ropery but in reality it is epic and I loved the smell in the place where they made it. The tour also included access to the props from the TV series and all the locations are identified. If you are not interested in that there are so many other things to do including plenty of eating places and the Commanders House Gardens. This is also a wedding venue apparently. I loved going on the boats and especially the lifeboat museum. I love the RNLI and glad to see they have such a huge profile..especially their work in the channel.
My only regret is that I didn't get there sooner as I could have stayed another couple of hours.

Brilliant day. Spent 6 wonderful hours here with children. A unique experience to have a tour of a submarine by an ex Royal Navy serviceman who has actually served on it! Excellent exhibitions and definitely worth walking along to the rope making gallery (longest brick building in Europe). The cafe is overstretched, long queue, slow to bring food, ran out of baked potatoes by 5 past one, but the paninis were very tasty and the children ate everything.

Visiting the Rochester area for a couple of days, we went to the docks today.
There is so much to see and we didn't see it all. Entry tickets let you revist again for a year, so we might need to do that.
It is work booking the rope making demonstration, if it is available. It was really interesting. Going into a submarine was very good too, if you feel up to going into a confined space.
It was a really hot day when we went and had to buy drinks. I recommend taking a water bottle with you.
Finally, the docks are not close to anywhere else, apart from a shopping centre. It is a long walk to the nearest station, so ending up getting taxis. This may prove too expensive, so I would recommend checking out bus routes and planning accordingly, if you are not driving.

The site is large and the exhibits are very interesting. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly, with a special mention to the team in the roppery who were exceptional. The tour of the submarine was also extraordinary, never to be forgotten.
We had a fabulous time and still didn't see it all. We will gladly return.
Buying our tickets online was good value.

I took my Mum to the Historic Dockyard for the Call the Midwife set tour, for mothers day, and we had a wonderful day. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, the set tour was fascinating, and there was so much more to see and do that we just didn't have time for it all and we will be going back. In particular, we are very interested in the 200th anniversary lifeboat exhibit and the Oscelot submarine! Highly recommended.

All of the staff were very nice and friendly. The complex is large with apparently lots to see. However you need an interest in this specific type of history to thoroughly enjoy it. We went for a "Call The Midwife" tour which was great and well worth the price. The rope making building and demonstration was surprisingly interesting and well done. I didn't truly "love" the Dockyard merely because I wasn't as interested in most of it, but I didn't feel comfortable only giving 4 stars when this is a personal preference and the site and staff were overall great.

Very beautiful museum, hostrical and show the technology of all kind of sailing including the submarines, actually we couldn't finsh it in one day, therefore we will visit is again
We took our lunch in restaurant there and the food and service were excellent, the staff are very friendly and helpful, my family and I enjoyed a lot 👍
Highly recommend to visit

Thoroughly enjoyed or time there, approximately 3 hours , we had to cut short our visit as we had something else planned later in the day but will be revisiting in the spring to see the other exhibits.
The staff were all really pleasant, informative , and fun .We couldn’t wish for more.
The free parking and admission allowing you to visit all year around made it great value for money.

We had a wonderful time at our visit to Santa. Very well put together. Kept our son interested the whole way around. Also the most important thing was to hand deliver his Christmas wishlist :-) He already asked if we can come and visit him next year again.

Lots of exhibits to see. highlight for me was going down in the submarine Ocelot very interesting. Everyone on site was extremely knowledgeable didn’t have to ask many questions which is always good. Couple of cafes/restaurants on site serving sensibly priced food. Try to avoid eating at peak times however as it took quite a long time to get to the table. Good facilities for children (even though I didn’t bring any) noticed a couple of play areas and children’s activities on site. Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys looking round old ships and how they used to make the ropes, rigging and maintain them. Also had quite a few military pieces of machinery and Second World War vehicles & equipment. Would definitely revisit.
Rochester Cathedral is a historical structure built in Norman style with a Romanesque facade. The library door dates back to the 14th century and daily services are held by the Church of England. The cathedral features a medieval wall painting depicting the wheel of fortune, which can be viewed along with an audio-visual experience. Its proximity to the castle and accessibility via railway station adds to its appeal.
England 2nd oldest cathedral. In very good condition. Well worth it to walk around and have a look inside. Free 2 hours parking nearby. We had a lunch near the cathedral in a pub and had a stroll around the cathedral. Recommend to all.

This is a very nice cathedral, and unlike some cathedrals it was completely FREE to enter! The people working there were nice and friendly too. The crypt had some fantastic lighting that I have never seen before in a cathedral, and it also had a cafe!

The Cathedral Rochester is a beautiful and historic church of Norman architecture in Rochester, Kent. It is the second oldest cathedral in England, founded by Bishop Justus in 604. The present building dates back to the work of Bishop Gundulf in 1083, and has a stunning Romanesque facade, a magnificent nave, and a crypt. The cathedral is open to visitors and offers guided tours, exhibitions, concerts, and services. The staff are friendly and informative, and the admission is free (donations are welcome). The cathedral has a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere, and is a must-see for anyone who loves history, art, or religion.

Lovely to visit Rochester Cathedral. It is just behind the small high street. Parked in a short stay car park which has a bit of castle wall and is next to high street. Just a short walk to Cathedral. Toilets are outside in cloister area. Super cafe is in crypt. Castle is close.

Visited the Cathedral to see the new art installation 'The Leaves on the Trees'. Steel maple leaves in various stages of 'decay' are laid out on the floor, each with the word Hope stamped on them. Beautiful.

Rochester Cathedral is a World Heritage site and is the second oldest cathedral in England, after Canterbury. It was founded in 604 AD. It is built in a Norman, Gothic style, and it is listed as Grade I.
In front of it, there is a beautiful Catalpa Tree that is over 100 years old. As you go inside, you step into another world: an imposing and majestic world filled with music played the Quire (choir) and 'lighted' by the beautiful stained glass. The pipe organ is perfectly calibrated and sounds like an angelic music.
There are many relics and tombs and coat of arms around the cathedral, and everything is just fantastic.the cathedral also has a gorgeous backyard.
The staff are friendly and welcoming

A very decent looking cathedral. Free to enter. There’s a small shop and a donations box inside. There is also a cafe in the crypt. Toilets are found in a nice garden outside. The pane glass windows are lovely. Part the church was roped off for evensong. There was a huge dark wood panel table in the church with a useful informational display. It was a nice short visit.

I came here on a Sunday, three months ago, but could not enter because there was a service in progress. So, yesterday, I returned when the cathedral was quiet and had a leisurely tour. Staff were very friendly and helpful and pointed out things to see, including the medieval wall painting of the wheel of fortune (and accompanying audio-visual experience). The cathedral is small and very old. The west front is the best part of the exterior, with an ancient entrance gate. Proximity to the castle adds to the experience as does accessibility to the nearby railway station.

Absolutely love this Cathedral!
Rochester Cathedral is the second oldest cathedral in England.
It was founded in AD 604.
The present building was initiated by Bishop Gundulf in 1080.
The architecture is Norman, Gothic and Early-English Perpendicular with a fine crypt, medieval wall paintings and a magnificent 15th century chapter room doorway
Every time we are in the area, we are popping in there.
It is free to enter and so beautiful inside.
You can light the candle there.
Also, you can learn a lot about the history from the museum, which located on the lower floor there too.

A beautiful little cathedral. It's probably the most tastfully beautiful cathedral I've visited. The cathedral organ looks amazing with its delicately painted decoration, as does the cathedral ceiling, which also has painted detailing. I was also lucky enough to see a fosilised black oak table on display at the time. Beautiful.

A spectacular cathedral, well worth the visit , with a rich historical history.great for tour groups and school outings , impressive history of a dark oak tables recovered from a peat bog swamp carbon dated as old as 5000 years its an impressive piece of ancient history.

This is the 2nd oldest Cathedral in the country and so has a lot to offer in relation to it's architecture.
Although not very big as far as newer Cathedrals go, there is still a lot to see with the view from one end to the other through the organ pipes amazing.
Here there is also the "Table for the nation" which is a truly amazing to see and read the history of. The wood is 5000 years old.
A lot of the cathedral is accessible to disabled people, and if you use a wheelchair rather than a scooter like I do, you can explore more than I was able to. The building is extremely old and you can see they have done their best within these confines.
The staff there were really helpful, and there is good parking very close by.

Undoubtedly one of the most spectacular churches and Cathedrals I've ever been. There is not entrance fee, however you have the ability to make a donation if you want to. In the underground area there is a cafe in order to enjoy some sweets, snacks or your favourite coffee. It is often used in order to conduct some events. If you visit Rochester, it is a place you have to visit.

Rochester Castle is an 11th century Norman castle with a spacious keep that offers stunning views of the River Medway. Visitors can take tours and enjoy picnics on the grounds, which offer plenty of green space for children to play on or tarmac for biking and scooting. The steep climb up to the top of the castle is worth it for breathtaking views of the cathedral and river.
Absolutely beautiful.
Lovely outing with children. Good picnic spot. Lots of green space for little kids to play or tarmac for scooting and biking
Beautiful view of the cathedral and Medway river.
The castle is a must to visit. It's a steep climb but with a lot of rest stops. I did it with my 6 month old in a baby carrier. The views at the top of the castle are breathtaking.
Castle grounds have a cafe selling yummy ice cream, hot drinks snacks and burgers.

A great way to pass an hour or so. There are a lot of steps and although there is a side access to the castle grounds there is no disabled access to the castle itself.

Wonderful castle to visit with over 200 steps to clamber around. If you don't like heights, you might not be keen on this! It's all safe though, and there's several benches to sit down and catch your breath on! Reasonably priced, probably takes about 45 minutes to go round and read about from the info boards. Dramatic views from the top across Rochester and beyond.

This was a fascinating place to visit.
Entry prices aren’t excessive and I had a concession price too.
The actual rooms of the castle have gone, but there are panels to show what was there when the castle was in use.
The path through the castle goes via some steep and uneven spiral staircases, so some care is needed, especially when people are going the other way. There’s a warning at the entry, it says there are 200 steps.
There are some very nice views of the cathedral.

Great castle and grounds. I would recommend going, however, be prepared to take a while to park if you are travelling by car. There is no car park so all the parking around is either, packed, very tight for big cars or out the way. Bearing in mind the castle is in the middle of town.

A small but interesting castle (keep?) with simple but well presented information and, most importantly, fantastic views when you make it to the top. 200ish steps but not difficult and plenty of places to rest on the way up if you need them.

A great castle ruin to attend for an hour or so.
There is a small gift shop, as well as multiple information boards throughout the castle to read all about the history and the different types of rooms that used to be there.
As others note, there are a lot of staircases, some of which are very tight, so please keep that in mind!
It’s very near to Rochester High Street as well as the Cathedral, which is free to enter.
Would recommend!

I love visiting Rochester Castle, it's a beautiful and historic place with stunning views of the river and the town. The castle grounds are well maintained and perfect for a picnic or a stroll. Me and my fiancée have spent many romantic evenings there, watching the sunset and the lights of the bridge. The castle itself is impressive and worth exploring, especially the keep with its medieval features. The staff are friendly and informative, and the admission fee for the castle is reasonable. I would highly recommend Rochester Castle to anyone who loves history, nature, or romance.

The is an open castle part of the English Heritage. A good walk going the up stairs and seeing pictures of how each floor used to look many years. You can see the square holes in the walls of where the wooden structure use to sit. The top of castle gives you the best 360 views of Rochester especially when it's sunny. It was a bit windy when we went, best to try and go on a hot day with no breeze. Still an enjoyable visit, there a live concert and funfair event on the castle grounds. Recommend!

Great family day out grounds are level for pushchairs and wheelchairs but the castle itself is up steps and then over 100 steps to the top of the castle. Inside castle is not suitable for pushchairs wheelchairs or people with mobility issues.
One great feature in this castle was there were a number of boxes that you sniff to experience the smells of the castle when it was a working castle back in time. Grounds are great for kids to run around and have a picnic.

The castle is close to the back of the cathedral. There an ice cream kiosk in the entrance. There is a small car park. You need to climb stairs to get in the main Norman keep doorway to pay. Owned by English Heritage. It is a tall keep, on many floors. You can get to top and the views are great.

The day I visited the castle, it was on the same day as the Dickensian Festival and Christmas Market and it was very busy. I have been to many English Heritage sites, but there is something about this castle that makes me very anxious... probably the height of the place as you make your way up.
I didn't stay for very long as there were many people around, but I hope to visit again around May/ June in 2024 when it is also a lot warmer. I will also see if I am brave enough to go all the way to the top then too.

An English Heritage run attraction. There is a charge to enter but you get an audio guide. There are also useful displays around the castle to help explain what you’re seeing and the history. Lots of signs regarding dead pigeons though we never saw any. There are lots of steps so one to avoid if you have mobility issues. The steps can be steep but ok for most, including kids. Can go on the roof and look down on the Cathedral. Learned a lot about the history of the castle. There’s a shop to peruse too but souvenirs were on the expensive end.
Kelvedon Hatch Secret Nuclear Bunker is a large underground facility in Essex, offering self-guided tours and housing a Cold War history museum, canteen, and ropes course. The bunker also hosts ghost hunts, with reports of eerie experiences in the disused underground service tunnels. Originally an RAF air defense station turned regional government headquarters during the Cold War, it is now open to the public for exploration.
From the outside, the bunker appears to be a cabin. The facilities were surprisingly clean and well-kept. There's a lot of interesting information and facts here. The only disadvantage was that it was in the middle of nowhere; it was quick and easy to ride an uber in, but returning to town was a challenge because there are no cabs or ubers nearby. You must need your own car to go. It was 30 minutes drive from London.
Overall, it was a pleasant and intriguing surprise. The atmosphere was secure.
Highly recommended.

The bunker is disguised as a cabin from the outside. Facilities were surprisingly clean and well maintained. Lots of interesting material and facts. Only downside was it's in the middle of nowhere, quick and easy to ride an uber going in but coming back to town was quite the hurdle as there are no cabs or ubers around the vicinity.
But overall it was a lovely and interesting surprise. The environment felt safe.

Firstly, this place is really interesting. We spent a few hours on a rainy day here.
From the outside, it's a small bungalow in the woods, but inside is a whole other story!
It started life as an RAF ROTOR station, then a civil defence centre, then a Regional Government HQ, and now a tourist attraction deep underground.
You pick up a self guided audio tour at the start (options for adults and kids), and you can do it as fast/slow as you wish. There are exhibits, videos and a small dress up area.
It's chilling to think 100s of people at a time were down there!
The reason for the 3 stars is, its £12 per adult for the ticket, but it feels that its easy money and its not going back in to the museum, it feels like there is no upkeep there (I may be wrong, but thats how it felt, which is a huge shame)
The path is not paved, so is muddy and a little slippery in the rain.
There was 1 staff member we saw at the end. It's all done on honesty boxes (and CCTV!), and you have to pay an extra £5 to take photos inside!!
There is a decent sized parking lot, several bathrooms, cafe (self-service, and honesty box again)
There is also a huge outdoor high ropes obstacle course that looks fun, but was too wet to explore when we went.

A walk back in time for alot of our group. Well worth the money. Alot of honesty payment boxes, for photographs, drinks, canteen, payment on exit of tour and gift shop which was stocked for younger tours and older. All in all we had an enjoyable visit. Expect No hi tech gadgetry, just good old bast to the past. No phone signal, take cash to pay although there was a card device at the canteen. Hidden gem well worth a visit.

Certainly a different kind of place. The self guided tour is great as you can take as long as you want as there is plenty to look at. Lots of chilling Nuclear War realisations that even if you were in a Bunker life would be awful. You can add on High Ropes aswell to make a full day out.

We headed down a long tunnel, through the blast doors and into the three floors of communications rooms, sleeping quarters, offices and medical facilities, all in place for the 600+ people who would have had to live here in case of the worst. With original videos to watch as we went round, it was quite a surreal experience, difficult to digest at times, but something definitely worth seeing, especially when you consider the measures required to keep the air clean and live-able for months of being underground, as well as other practical considerations!
Thanks so much to Mike for all his help and for looking after us.
Adam Woods (agentpurpleuk) — Google review
Fascinating place to wander round and think what it would have been liked to have holed up there for 3 months. Lots.of original communications equipment from the 1980s. The free audio guide is essential. Sadly they were demanding an additional £5 for a permit to take any photographs. That's a shame, because they won't be getting the free publicity through social media, and we didn't come away with any photos of our experience.

There’s a fine line in war exhibition between its inherent serious nature and wanting the visitors to be both educated and entertained. I think this place is a good example of how to do it right. Being in the actual bunker is a constant reminder that the danger of nuclear war was (and still is) very real. At the same time, the narrator in the walkies convey the historical facts in a respectful manner while being entertaining.

Very informative, lots of information as you walk around. Lots of Exhibits took my two young grandchildren who were maybe just too young. This was my second visit. The first time was ten years ago. Really interesting history that was told via the handheld wands. The visit starts by entering the "house" and picking up the wand and ends 90 minutes or so later in the canteen. There are no staff present at any time on either of our visits until the very end. That is where you pay. Excellent.

This farm and fun park is an amazing place to visit if you have kids.. This place is close to M25 and the park has ample parking space. We had so much fun and the day we spent there will stay in our memory forever. We visited the park during the Halloween festival and there were extra attractions during this time such as haunted house , pumpkin patch ,pick your pumpkin etc. There are a variety of animals in the farm such as alpacas, rabbits, cows, meerkats, kangaroos etc . It is a Wheelchair user friendly park as well. As we visited this place during Halloween festival /school holiday time , the park was quite busy /crowded which is expected. There were long queues in front of the coffee shops/ food shops and that is the only thing I didn’t enjoy. Overall , we had a lovely experience there.

Plenty of play areas and rides to keep our 3yo and 7yo entertained. It's a shame you can't get up close to most of the animals and some are even too far away to see. Food and drink prices are highest I've seen at similar venues (£2.20 for a small carton of juice and nearly £8 for two hot drinks). Love the themed cows dotted around.

The place was definitely a very good experience for us.
It was easy to find. The parking ground was full of cars, but the overflow car park had plenty of space left. It is very good that even the overflow car park has bins.
We went after 2pm which was much cheaper for the three of us. 3 hours has exhausted our child anyway.
The park have lots of hand wash places available and it is very recommended to use it as often as possible. There is plenty of rides and other stuff, playgrounds and soft plays. It is very good that lots of playgrounds are covered by shades, it was very pleasant even in a hot day.
Few little one person ride machines are working with coins, so it is suggested to have few pound with you as cash if your child is that age.
There are different farm animals around the park, there is opportunity to feed them, but not from hand to mouth. They are to roam free in their own place, not really interested in visiting humans. In the park there is plenty of little kiosks offering food, drinks, freshly made donut 🍩 ice cream. A cup of coffee was £3.70 which is quite pricey but well.. other food stuff like burger and chips and combos like this was £6-8 (if my memory serves right) all kiosks had accepted card.
I saw lot of ppl with buggies, but the walking paths are grainy, not concrete, so if your child is over 3, I would probably skip buggies unless you have a nice big wheel on it.
I tried to put rules of rides as photo as well as one of the cafe kiosk’s offer too.

We had a fantastic day. Attended with a 6 year old and a 1 year old. Enough to do for both of them. The Halloween festival was great and set up really well. We will definitely be returning in the summer and even thinking Christmas.

Amazing place to take my 5 yr old son. He enjoyed it to the fullest. We stayed in the farm for 5 hrs till closure and he would still want to spend more time. Spending time with farm animals to the wonderful events, from the awesome rides to delightful food - I would recommend this place for everyone having kid less than 6-7 yr old to visit OMD. Time flies here, so make sure you come in early to experience it all.

Well maintain, We had a GREAT DAY!
I been here 5 years ago with my nephew, this time I taking my own 3 year old boy!
Everything still pretty well maintaining, bring back all lovely memory I had.
My kid loves all the rides (especially the TRACTOR, we manage to ride 4 times), queue was not long and it was very quick.
Few different type and age range of playgrounds, and we got surprise there is a MAGIC shows too.
The burger is nice, fried are super crispy. Good variety of food and drink and couple food stall make us easy to reach when we need.
If you kids want a quiet afternoon nap, can consider go near the event tent area. It is quiet and calm when no event is held.
It is not huge but good for little one , and plenty of hand wash facility.
Personally I don't like the petting animal, I find the animal are stress and keep trying to run away from kid.

It so existed than we expected. The very first time we experienced snowfall was in December (11th Dec) from my history in London. It was not very crowded when we visited in the morning. But, during the daytime average crowd. The waiting time was a maximum of 5 minutes for a ride. A Hot coffee break and 2 rides then a Hot snack break and 2 rides. So the Cafe and quick food service was amazing, but the queue was longer than any rides. 😆
We enjoyed it a lot as a family. Hope you guys will have a great time this holiday. Merry Christmas.🎄🎅❄️

Great family day out.
It gets very busy so you have to pre-book tickets online. Get in early to find parking on site which is free.
It has a nice range of animals and a few shows to entertain young kids. Has a few places to eat and get hot drinks and desserts.
The best part of the farm is the rides and play areas that come included in the purchase of the ticket.
Highly recommended if you have children under the age of 10.

Highly recommend and great day out for your little one!
You can buy food to feed the animals, where there’s little slots to put the food down. I would suggest buy at least 4 packets so your little one can go round feeding most of them.
There’s food stands and picnic areas where you can bring your own snacks to sit down and eat.
It’s playful and fun. So much to do and see here.
Second time he’s been here and we would come again.
Thank you for accommodating.

This was an amazing day out with the family. There are activities for children of all ages, from soft play to tractor rides, petting animals and little rollercoasters. It was fantastic. I also really appreciated how halal was also catered.
We booked in advance which also meant we saved a little money. The circus was a summer feature and the children really enjoyed it. The train ride was definitely one of the highlights. The driver was full of energy and even brought some of the animals up close for everyone to see
Definitely will be coming back here again.

For the first time today we spent the day at the Halloween half term! We all had such a wonderful day. There was so much to do for the children and the staff were so friendly. We was greated as soon as we got into the park by two lovely staff member's. I would like to make a shout out to warren who worked on reception. We was visiting with a family member who has additional needs but there was some confusion with the ticket. Upon arrival he was wonderful! Very understanding and helpful. He apologised for the mix up and made sure we got a wristband for the rides. We have been many places similar in the past but this was the first time we have been treated so well and warren was very calm about the situation which made it so much smoother entry. Very pleased & will be visiting again. 100% would recommend.

A fun filled day spent with kid who loved the rides and animals. They have various rides like tractor, train, crazy barn, horse adventures, a carousel horse ride and a roller coaster (high restriction of 1.2 meter applies) etc. They have a gigantic slide but is only suitable for kids up to 10 years of age. There are animals such as cows, alpacas, meerkats, guinea pigs, tortoises, rabbits, sheep, goats and chickens etc. They have a soft play area for kids. I would suggest to buy tickets online as you get a slight discount. Children under 2 go free. Cafe is good too and plenty of parking spaces. Friendly staff.

First time here. Parking space is good. Price is reasonable although adult charges are high for the use. Weather was ok albeit a bit rainy. Most rides were on. Lots of play areas for children of different age. Farm animals and some other animals (wallabies etc.) spread around. Had coffee from one of the stands which I wouldn’t recommend. Did not try the food. It must be much nicer to visit during spring/summer.

As we didnt check that, not sure, but we think that its better to have a car or taks Uber, as this nice place is away from common roots. Otherwise very nice place to spend a day in summer with your children. There are farm animals kids can learn about, funny statues of farm animals, a lots of places to run, have fun and if your kid is not too much into pigs, goats or chicken, there are few rides even I as adult enjoyed. We celebrated 2yo Birthday and it was awesome and he enjoyed every bit. Try it!

Amazing day for a Christmas outing for a 1yr old. Cannot wait to bring a 2yr old back next year. Well done for the Christmas experience
Great value for money.
Food and drinks were all reasonably priced.
Burger was the best option, chicken burger over fried and extremely greasy.
Apart from that had a wonderful day with family. Thank you

Brilliant place...considering we went in the pouring rain, yes there is a lot to do outside but there was soft play inside and the odd thing inside too. Even a few protected rides.
This was our first visit and pleasantly surprised that there is concrete flooring throughout the farm so no need for wellies.
We will be back!
Especially as we got a free entrance ticket for my son from attending the Christmas event. We even got a little drawstring bag on entrance with some bits and bobs too.

A fantastic festive experience for all the family! We have been to Old MacDonald Farm once before but not during Christmas time. The Christmas parade was really sweet, the singing sisters were great and seeing Santa walking around was lovely, especially when it started 'snowing'.

Not been before, always saw from the motorway and glad we booked for this Halloween 🎃 was a great day out! Brilliant for kids, great selection of animals easy to see, feeding is optional on some which is great, rides are really good decorations was good too. Great photo opportunity’s too for halloween. All kids had a ticket for free pumpkin which thought was a lovely thought. Efficient parking facilities. The cafe option, could do with an enclosed indoors for rainy day, was lucky with the weather on our day.
Lullingstone Roman Villa is an ancient structure that dates back to the fourth century. This historic building was discovered in the early 20th century and has since been preserved as a testament to its rich cultural heritage. The villa boasts intricate mosaics, impressive bathhouses, and stunning frescoes that provide insight into the lives of its former inhabitants. Visitors can explore the ruins of this grand archaeological site and imagine what life may have been like during the days of Roman Britain.
The Ightham Mote castle, a remarkable historical house that dates back to the 13th century, is an exquisite gem. Its Tudor facade and Jacobean staircase are indicators of its stunning beauty. Managed by the National Trust, the castle underwent a restoration of 10m nearly two decades ago. The extensive gardens include a picnic area with deck chairs for visitors' convenience. If planning on visiting more than three National Trust properties in one year, becoming a member is recommended.
Now this is a real gem. The building dates back to the 13th century. It had £10m restoration nearly 20 years ago and the place is a stunning historical house.
The gardens are extensive. There is a picnic area and deck chairs are provided
It’s a National Trust property so if you are going to visit more than 3 NT properties in a year it’s worth becoming a member.
Parking can be tricky on a real nice day. We noticed that the car park had more spaces post 2.30pm

A beautiful and historically interesting house. The guides are very informative and bring the history of the property to life. The conservation efforts of the National Trust have been truly magnificent. It is well worth a visit.
The grounds are well managed and are lovely to walk around. There is a picnic area with seats and deck chairs for the use of visitors. For those with young children there's a very good play area which is a reasonable walk from The house.

You feel one with nature here! A fabulous and interesting house with some lovely gardens to walk around as well as a nice but a bit basic natural playground for kids. Although it's right next to a stream the kids can play in which is nice. The cafe is what you expect for a National Trust. But a lovely day out with the family.

We visited with our 5 and 3 year old. Stopped into the cafe first, which you can visit without having to pay admission. There was a small selection of well prepared hot and cold lunch items available. I enjoyed my sausage bap, the spicy cauliflower pastry also looked good. The kids enjoyed the kids lunch boxes.
The grounds and house are fantastic, the gardens are gorgeous and the house very interesting to look around. There were Tudor style games to play in the gardens. There's a "natural" play area at the very back of the grounds. Bring wellies as there's a shallow stream to splash around in. We really enjoyed our afternoon here and look forward to returning.

Beautiful gardens with a big lawn where you can have a picnic. The house was interesting to look around and there is a good stroll round the gardens with water features. There is also a charming used book shop on site.

Visited Ightham Mote over the Early May bank holiday weekend and it’s really nice. The closed Mote part has plenty to explore with the gardens and castle itself that has some historic features. Around you also have a couple of walks with varying level of difficulty. And there is plenty of parking too!
But… please explain why we can’t take dogs in the Mote part or at least outdoors? This doesn’t make sense to me as it meant splitting our group in two and not enjoying it to the max whilst if you are careful nothing would happen to the gardens.

Lovely setting . House is immaculate and beautiful. Gardens are nice , but probably need a bit of work. Used bookshop charming. Plants for sale. Restaurant nice, seating inside and out. Not enough information on display as you go around, so research before you go.
Adult entry £16.00 with gift aid- ouch , should revise that, join up instead. I loved it , so peaceful and beautiful.

Fantastic medieval house with a moat . Lovely gardens and 3 fantastic estate walks . I did the green walk which was the longest and hardest . Probably only for the fit as quite steep in places but beautiful views at the top. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back .

Ightam Mote is a fantastic medieval house with a great location. The picturesque gardens offer a delightful variety of plants, making it a visually pleasing experience. What sets it apart is the intriguing mix of historical eras showcased within the house, providing a comprehensive journey through British history. The informative volunteers add depth to the visit, enriching the experience.
On the day of our visit, we were fortunate to witness an impressive falconry display, highlighting the array of events they host. However, the cafe’s offerings were somewhat ordinary, lacking any standout features. Nevertheless, Ightam Mote is definitely worth a visit for history enthusiasts and those seeking a charming, historic setting.

Situated in the heart of Kent, Ightham Mote presents a picturesque charm that's perfect for family outings. As one of the many exquisite National Trust buildings, its beauty is undeniable. While it may not possess the profound historical depth or emblematic prominence of other Trust sites, it ensures a serene and delightful visit for all.
I spent a lovely day out with the kids.

Wonderful place to visit. Guides in the various rooms were informative and gave a great insight into the history of the building which has been changed over the years. The grounds were peaceful and I am sure change with the seasons - it was bright and sunny and very pleasant to walk around.
The cafe served the best scones I had in a long time!

So glad we came after seeing Ightham on the 'Treasures of the National Trust' BBC series. The staff here are keen, knowledgeable, and very friendly, a real asset - they can't wait to share the secrets of this wonderful and unique estate.
It was busy on our weekend visit, even though we arrived before opening time and so we just had a brief peek inside the house before walking around the grounds instead. We'll have a proper look round the rooms another time, but what we did see promised lots more.
The gardens have lots of seats dotted around and about, and in summer, the Trust scatters deckchairs around the grassy areas in shady spots, which is a nice touch.
This is a compact site that does feel more like a home than typical NT mansions and, because it was lived in up until the 20th Century, it's a real marriage of an old structure and relatively modern home comforts.
So, Ightham Mote is definitely worth visiting, but do go mid-week and outside of school holidays if you don't like crowds - Oh, and there is much more parking than there seems to be when you first arrive - carry on through the boundary wall and you can park very close to the main entrance and café.

My sister has talked about this NT property for years and finally got the opportunity to see it in person. What a quandary with virtually every room you walk into being from a different time period. I really enjoyed the water features throughout with water oozing from various places. Also simple waterfalls and ponds in the gardens that add to the romantic setting. This place cannot be forgotten.

Tudor styled home nestled in beautiful gardens and surrounded by some really nice walking trails. The staff are knowledgeable and happy to share info on its history. We went in summer and there were themed activities happening on the grounds. There is a kids playground and many picnic spots. The cafe caters for most diets and is similar to what you see at most National Trusts.

I’ve been to Ightham Mote on a few occasions and it’s always been a lovely peaceful experience. The house is stunning with an amazing back story. It’s also a great starting point for some good walks.
I sadly hit it today at the wrong time with car parks full and queues to get in and worse queues for food and drink. But if you avoid the sunny Saturday afternoon chaos it’s a lovely day out.

John who delivered a talk on the history of the history of the house was very engaging. He had facts and interjected some humour which kept the interest of the group. Then Peter who took us on a wonderful garden tour was so friendly, funny, professional and knowledgeable. We learned some very interesting facts and some fabulous history. Both of these volunteers are great ambassadors for Ightham Mote and the National Trust.

This medieval manor house was one of our favourites during a June visit to Southern England. It is tucked away in a wooded area and has kept most of the original medieval features. The dark wood and stonework interior, numerous rooms to peruse (different styles and eras), unique tree trunk carved chairs, enclosed courtyard, chapel with medieval ceiling paintings (revealing allegiances apparently), and of course the moat provide interesting sights at every turn. Can’t even begin to describe the rich history of this place!
Also a pleasant trail on the property with children’s playground at far end. Indoor/outdoor café next to the National Trust entrance building. The gardens were OK, but not wow (even though visited in June).
Strongly recommend listening to staff give an intro description of the estate’s history before venturing inside the home. It made the visit even more delightfully memorable.
NOTE: Visited in June 2023

Great visit here great talk to begin with outling the history of this beautiful Tudor property. Knowledgeable staff in each room. Well worth a visit.
Walter Bird — Google review
The house is lovely, the surrounding countryside is great (Look for White Rocks Farm for a well priced farm shop out on the footpaths). The place is situated in a sunken valley. Please note the circular walk is fairly challenging and hilly. Download a full map with the NT directions, otherwise you'll probably make a wrong turn.
Now for the quibbles. The inside of the house completely lacked information about the history of the place - the Tudor history info was nowhere to be seen.
This seriously reduces the quality of the experience. Because there's no mobile signal there you can't just open Wikipedia to educate yourself as you walk around - the fact I felt I had to use Wikipedia shows how informationally light it is.
Strangely, John Singer Sargent (the painter) had loads of information about him and his connection to the place but very little else. Fans of art history might enjoy that but it's a very partial and limited representation.
I left the place knowing next to nothing about the history of the estate. So here's some information about it:
The architectural writer John Newman describes it as "the most complete small medieval manor house in the county".
The origins of the house date from circa 1340–1360. The earliest recorded owner is Sir Thomas Cawne, who fought in France with Edward the Black Prince and who acquired the Mote in the 1360s. He died in 1374 and there is a memorial to him in St Peter’s Church. In 1399 on the death of his son Robert the house passed by the marriage of Robert’s daughter Alice to Nicholas Haute and their descendants, their grandson Richard Haute being Sheriff of Kent in the late 15th century. It was then purchased in 1521 by the courtier Sir Richard Clement (d.1538). In 1591, Sir William Selby bought the estate.
(There's a starter for the earlier history of the estate).
The grounds themselves are nice but nothing astonishing. The trees feel a bit hodgepodge and the garden isn't very curated.

We loved our visit to Ightam Mote, the whole pace is lovely, even the kids were curious and explored the rooms and the gardens.
We would recommend for a half day out, however it is very popular so quite busy at weekends.

A Wonderful NT property. There are few external works currently going on till mid 2024 which will provide a new visitor centre but this currently doesn't affect viewing the property. The house is surrounded by water and oozes history. It's a fascinating place with extremely knowledgeable volunteers. The cafe is currently quite small but again this wills ee changes later in the year. Definitely one of NT better properties

We only had time for a quick visit to this site, so unfortunately we didn't get to go inside the building or the courtyard. That said, the site is charming and we'd like to come back for a more extensive visit.

Ightham Mote is is an incredible place, a real hidden gem. There's so much to see and do here. There's all the usual facilities you get at a national trust place like the cafe, shop, bookshop etc. But the grounds and house are amazing, in the summer you can chill on a deck chair on the lawn next to the stream and enjoy the view down to the house. There's a natural kids play area for them to enjoy. The house is absolutely stunning, so rich in history and so much to see, they do trails for the kids where they have to find objects hidden around the place, my daughter absolutely loves it. I'd also highly recommend a walk around the pond, and the two walks around the grounds, they're some of the most beautiful walks I've ever been on! This place is absolutely fantastic all year round, and for all the family, highly recommended!

The Emirates Royal Docks station is located near the O2 Arena in North Greenwich, just a short walk from the Thames. It is a popular attraction with tourists as it offers great views of London's Greenwich Peninsula and the Royal Docks. The station forms part of Londons transport network, making it very cheap to use.
An amazing experience at a relatively low cost. Amazing views over London and also a great way to see the ever evolving changes to the landscape. Really easy access to the DLR/Tube networks and can pay using Oyster or Contactless which is a great bonus!

Amazing views and such a good idea to see London! It’s just a short walk from the tube and really easy to find. We got on in Greenwich and went across to the Royal Docks. I absolutely LOVED the royal docks. That side of the river doesn’t even feel like London. It’s definitely a must try, especially on a sunny, warm day!

We visited the cable cars that fly from Emirates Royal Docks across to Greenwich / The O2.
I booked the tickets online. So glad I did as it was a sunny a day and around lunch time there was a large queue.
The queueing was not clear. We joined the back of the queue (being British we do love to queue) then realised it was the queue to purchase tickets. We already had!
We joined the correct queue. Queued for about 15-20 minutes downstairs and then another 15-20 minutes upstairs. The flight was lovely not very long. You can see a lot of building work happening in and around the docks and are up the Thames. Right at the end there is a steep drop not for someone not keen on heights.
The cars do not stop you have to get in whilst they are moving.
In April 2022 it was only one household per car.
If allowing more into a car then the wait may not be as long.
Definitely recommend booking online, cheaper and less of a queue.
Personally I wouldn’t do it again.

It was a very good experience to take the cable car to O2. There was no waiting time at all and got one car only for ourselves. Oyster cards can be used, and also, any contact less card to pay for the ride. The view is amazing , and flights, landing, and taking off from City Airport can be seen during the ride.

If it's a nice day and you're heading over to the O2 Arena / Millennium Dome, forget taking the Underground ride the cable cars. No need to buy a ticket it's got barriers with contactless payment, about a 10-15 min queue, smooth 5-10 mins ride across with some great views of the city!

Have been there twice and found the whole experience very convenient and easy to reach. Reach to Royal Docks side to board cable car, use your oyster card or buy tickets from counter. Executive will send you to boarding area and then once reached on other side executive will assist from where to exit. Must visit for once. I have heard that during night it takes 25 mins to cover the whole cable line so one can enjoy the view.

We went to cable car ride on a Saturday evening. Once you get into the ride and the ride will last around 10min and the view is amazing. The ticket cost for the ride is around 10 pounds for round trip and 6 pounds for 1 way. Also you can Visit O2 Mall which is very close to Emirates Cable Car.

Booked last minute to get to the O2 and return, we see a queue building so booked the optional fast track option (£50 for 2 people) , when we arrived only one line so asked the guy in the quiosk where the fast track line was, he just pointed to the long queue and said join that, I mentioned again that we had fast track and he wasn't really helpful and just pointed to the queue again. When we got to the ticket barrier QR code was scanned and no mention where to go at the top of the stairs so joined another queue.. we feel the fast track option is pointless as you don't get anywhere faster so save yourself £24 and just book a standard ticket. It does close at 11pm on a Saturday so if your at an event at the O2 don't hang about too long after the event has finished, good points the views are amazing and it's a good way of getting to O2 events if you have some time on your hands

Very quick wait, hardly any queue and easy ticket system. But, on a grey cloudy day, views are pretty underwhelming as there's very little to see in that area of London. The Up at The O2 attraction allows visitors to walk on a path suspended 2 meters above the roof of The O2. With scenic views of London landmarks, this adventure is perfect for children and families.
Fabulous experience, I did this twice, the latest one was a dusk which offered a fantastic view of London with sunset. It's quite easy to climb and very very safe. Feels a bit like moon walking (or what I imagine that to be!), a little bouncy. There are plenty of opportunities to take in the views as you climb up and at the peak there's a fantastic full 360 view.

Had a really good time. Everything was provided for us including shoes. Full safety brief provided. My only criticisms are, it's not that cheap to do and you're not on the viewing platform at the top for very long. The views are amazing and there are several plaques with information on around the platform but there wasn't time to read them before another group came up and effectively forced us to go back down. Photo packs at the end are also extremely expensive.

We had the lovely Adam as our guide, he was enthusiastic and certainly made the trip up the O2 memorable! We went up as a family of 4, we had a full safety briefing and all equipment included. Climb up gave lovely views over London and once we reached the top ot gave us time to catch of breath and celebrate with a drink! The climb down was the hardest and I would recommend wearing gloves. Thoroughly enjoyed this bucket list item and would recommend!

Good to know: wear shoes with very good grip or be provided with walking shoes.
Great time and fantastic view from on top of the O2.
Wish the time spent at the top was longer! Only about 10-15 minutes spent at the summit.
Felt safe, secure & well organised.
Drinks can only be purchased at the bottom to collect at the top - would be good to be able to also pay for drinks at the top, was a hot day and desperately needed a refreshment after the effort to climb up.
Could be hard work for some people climbing up the very beginning & down the end.

Really enjoyable experience. Staff were friendly and helpful and we all enjoyed it. Great views on a clear day. Not sure what it would be like if it was raining but would be more of an adventure!

I was lucky enough to finally do this with my Bestie, as I bought it for her as a Birthday present during Lockdown. It is well worth doing and the views from the top are awesome. The 1st section of the climb is pretty tough, but then it gets easier. The decent is okay until the last section which is a bit tricky, a 30 degree decline, but once you've done it you feel a great sense of achievement. I'd highly recommend doing it!

I did the O2 walk on 27 April. I am quite afraid of heights to an extent (I have also been on the cable car), neither of which I was too scared of.
Going up was very easy, but you definitely have to have physical strength and energy to do this. The walkway has a trampoline/bouncy material. You aren’t allowed to bring anything up except your phone, so I don’t know what would happen if you needed water.
However, at the top of the walk, the floor is grated so when I looked down I felt weak. I couldn’t walk around too much up there, I had to hold onto something. You have to wait up there for about 30 minutes while waiting for everyone else— I honestly wanted to get down at this point.
I came down in the dark and rain, it was somewhat slippery and this was definitely the worst part. It felt like it was taking forever to come down and my legs were really tired at this point, yet there’s no way to really take a break— you have to get down. My legs were shaking by the end of it lol.
I can’t imagine any other way to get down from here if you have anxiety or panic attacks.
It was a pretty good experience though, I liked the view and free-feeling it gave me to do this. I think it’s a bit overpriced, though.

We did the 8 pm sunset climb and it was so fun! We even got to see the sunset when we were at the top. You have a breathtaking 360-degree view of the city from the top and plenty of time to take photos up there. You feel a real sense of achievement when you reach the top!
The staff members were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to assist us throughout our ascent. They were extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable and made sure we all felt safe and comfortable. They prioritised our safety at all times, which was greatly appreciated.
They provide you with free climbing boots and a jacket, depending on the weather, when you go up. They give you a box where you can store your belonging before the climb.
We highly recommend this experience to anyone seeking a challenging yet rewarding adventure, or something different to do in London!

An amazing experience - certainly memorable! The whole experience is about 90 minutes long and it includes all the equipment you need, even waterproof trousers, jackets and shoes etc. Our guides were Kit and Robyn and both of them were excellent on our walk! We did the sunset walk and it was an amazing time to go up the view was fab. Highly recommend this experience to anyone

Wasn't expecting much but this far exceeded expectations. Great fun. Our tour guide Martin was brilliant, very encouraging and gave loads of interesting facts about surrounding views.
The walk up is comfortable and you get plenty of time at the top to enjoy views and take photos before coming down the other side.
There were people right up to the upper end of the age spectrum and everyone managed to do it.
Overall a very enjoyable experience in would recommend.

Go up on a sunny day (fingers crossed) - they still go up in rain and no refund! It’s a bit expensive and if you are used to adrenaline activities and exercise then this will be on the very low end of excitement and a very easy walk up. Go enjoy the view! Round trip 90 minutes with all the safety briefings and photos etc.

The O2 is a hugely popular live music venue in London with a capacity of up to 20,000. It has hosted some of the biggest names in the music business and is often used for prestigious sporting events, such as boxing matches and concerts by chart-topping artists. The atmosphere at The O2 is electric and unforgettable, perfect for any big night out.
Seats were in the O2 deck. View was great- nice to have a bar to lean on and more space around you; however, be prepared to stand on the foot rests of the bar stools if the guys in front of you stand up 😁. Food was good, meal and drink included. Service good too. It was a brilliant night. Great venue and awesome performance 🤩🎶🎵🎸💗

It's a fantastic place where the biggest events and concerts take place.
The atmosphere is amazing.
There are many shops, restaurants and bars nearby where you can eat or drink a cup of coffee.
The organization is flawless. The concert, was most exciting concert I've ever been.

Great location easily accessible from the tube.
Plenty of bars around the arena as the arena being surrounded by a shopping centre basically. Really quick to enter. Great experience and venue for the wrestling
As expected from these venues, the prices are extortionate. £7.50 for a cider/beer

1st time to see Iron Maiden, and it was a brilliant night of music. It's very easy to get around. Lots of choice to eat and drink but it can be very expensive. We had great seats and were comfortable and not cramped. Will definitely be back again to see more events.

The O2 Arena is one of the most iconic entertainment venues in the world. Its unique design, located within a former industrial structure, makes it a standout architectural masterpiece. The arena is renowned for hosting a wide range of events, including concerts, sporting events, and exhibitions.
One of its most notable features is its capacity; it can hold up to 20,000 people, making it one of the largest indoor arenas globally. This size, combined with its state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems, ensures an incredible experience for concertgoers. The acoustics are generally excellent, allowing for an immersive audio experience.
The O2 Arena's location in London is another advantage. Situated in the Greenwich Peninsula, it offers stunning views of the city skyline and the River Thames. It's easily accessible via public transportation, including the Jubilee Line on the London Underground.
However, like many large venues, prices for food and drinks can be quite high. Additionally, due to its size, navigating the arena can be a bit challenging during sold-out events.
In summary, the O2 Arena is an impressive venue that has become synonymous with world-class entertainment. Its design, location, and capabilities make it a must-visit for anyone looking to experience a memorable event in London.

Have been here for a few gigs and each time it's been excellent. There is parking nearby which costs £7.50 for the day, if you pay when you arrive, compared to when you leave, you'll save yourself about £15. There is lots to do in the O2 as well as concerts. There are 20+ places to eat from fast food to good quality meals at sit down restaurants. There is a good range of outlet shops with good deals. I'd definitely recommend going early if you have an event to attend to walk around.
Sam Swindells — Google review
Amazing experience! The venue is just great. It is located just a few minutes from the tube. Everything is very well organised, and the entry process is pretty smooth. Make sure you check the event guidelines before you visit. There are plenty of nice places to eat before you enter. However you can't bring any food or drinks in. There is a food hall when you enter where you can have burgers, fries, pizza, beer, etc. Unfortunately, there aren't any healthier food options. The food was okay, not that bad but pretty expensive. There are also a few toilets facilities.
Staff was very helpful and polite. The whole experience was amazing, and I will definitely be coming again for another event.
Rosi Petkova — Google review
Great venue and the seating was comfortable with a good view on the Pepsi max deck.
The bar and toilets were right outside the area in the foyer. Generally very clean and we entered and left.
Drinks prices were expensive compared to what I am used to but I don't live in London so unsure if £9 a pint is normal.
One downside is how crowded the trains get aftwards with thousands all descending onto the underground etc.
Ian Missin — Google review
Been a while since I've been to this venue. It's pretty well set out and the sound was banging. The staff were pretty friendly and helpful. Seats were decent although we spent most of the gig on our feet.
The bar and food prices are criminally expensive.

As a travel agent I still love to continue to experience much of the UK as possible and keep it local , and love a visit to the O2 it didn't disappoint , with great restaurants - Jimmy's and Five Guys both tasty 😋, the of course the incredibly fun Arena with the stars - there's plenty going on all the time ,
the Up at the O2 was fabulous to do , and much thanks to our guide George he looked after the whole group , it was exhilarating.
There are many photo point too , they aren't all here but to give an idea. And take a trip over to the Emirates cable car it great on a sunny day.

This place is like the TARDIS it looks big from the outside but when you go in and walk around the shops to the back and knowing there is a big arena in there as well it feels like it's 10x bigger on the inside.
I went through from the back of the 02 after doing the up at the 02 experience going over the roof and it was getting late so was really quiet there I would love to go back again and have a proper look around and see all the stuff I missed as I didn't have time to look around.
This place is really impressive and worth a visit.

This was our first visit to the O2, and it's such an amazing venue. I'd just presumed it just held the stadium. How wrong was I. It's got a huge shopping arcade with lots of great shops, including designer. There are also lots of great bars and restaurants to choose from. The stadium itself is well laid out and super easy to find your way around. Will definitely be heading here more often.
We saw Madonna and had the most amazing time!

Amazing venue holds 20K, I saw Pete Tong and his Orchestra playing all the Ibiza classics. Drinks are extortionate in the arena itself, I paid £17 for a double gin and tonic and £9 for a pint. The venue has loads of restaurants and bars outside the arena and transport links are great
Nick Owens — Google review
Arriving at the O2 was easy. The Jubilee line on the tube drops you right off, and for those seeking entertainment before the show, there are plenty of restaurants, a supermarket and a shopping outlet with discounted designer brands.
The queues to enter the arena during the C2C concert were well-managed, and there were enough restrooms to avoid excessive wait times.
The venue itself has a fantastic atmosphere – it's electric when the crowd gets going! The (side) view from my seat D434 was quite nice. It was high up but offered a good view of the stage and a good overall view. The sound quality was fantastic, making the entire concert experience truly enjoyable.
Just a heads-up, backpacks (even laptop-sized) aren't allowed inside the O2- though some people report getting in with them. There are lockers available for £10 and they will store your shopping bags from the outlet for free.
The queue/crowd after the show back to the tube was well managed. It was a great experience and I would definitely go back.

Here for a Genesis concert. Easy to get to. Good acoustics. Plenty of food and drunk options and helpful staff to guide you to the right place. Wouldn't want to sit right at the back or on the flat floor where inevitably people tend to stand but our raked seats were good.

Nice place to hang out inside & outside O2.
It's more like a huge mall with many brands, food & arena. When there is am event, you will find folks lining up for arena ( inside o2).
It's a mall, so there is no entry fee. If you want to walk on the top of the dom, you need to buy a ticket for that adventure, check out their website for ticket.

Exploring The O2 in London was a mixed experience. While the variety of shops and dining options was appealing, the bustling crowds at peak hours made it a bit overwhelming. The shopping choices catered to different tastes, and the dining offered a decent range of cuisines. However, the overall pricing seemed a tad steep. Despite the crowds, the venue's vibrant energy and diverse offerings made it a worthwhile visit for a day of shopping and dining.

It is a pretty smooth experience to attend a music concert at the O2. They have implemented a new 'AI' security screening system which has sped up the entry. There are many bars and toilets on each level, which is convenient. We saw Depeche Mode at the O2 and the sound was pretty good, despite being in the cheap seats far from the stage. We arrived a bit earlier and snuck out during the encore to avoid the rush for the tube.
Dax Villanueva — Google review
Overall, my experience at The O2 Arena was just average. The security measures and the entry process were well-organized, which I appreciated as it made me feel safe and the entry went smoothly. However, once inside, the prices for food and beverages were shockingly high, which was quite a disappointment. Additionally, some of the staff members were not only unhelpful but also had a poor attitude, which negatively impacted my experience. The layout of the venue and the pricing strategy also seemed unreasonable. While The O2 has the potential to offer a great visitor experience, these aspects need serious attention to make it worth the visit and the expense.

We visited the O2 on a brisk morning in London. The upside? We scored a great parking spot without any hassle. The downside? That parking spot came with a bit of a trek to the actual venue. With a light drizzle falling and a chill in the air, our photo ops outside The O2 were quick and to the point!
Thankfully, once we got inside, things warmed up considerably. The real star of the show, though, was the O2's outlet. We found some fantastic deals on clothes, and were able to snag some truly down-to-earth priced items.
The O2, formerly known as the Millennium Dome, is a large entertainment district located on the Greenwich Peninsula in Southeast London, England. It's a popular destination for locals and tourists alike, offering a variety of attractions under one roof.
The O2 centerpiece is the O2 Arena, a multi-purpose indoor arena that's one of the busiest music arenas in the world. It has hosted some of the biggest names in music, as well as sporting events, comedy shows, and more.
Overall, The O2 was a great experience, especially for the shopping. Just be prepared for a bit of a walk from the parking lot, and pack an umbrella if the forecast isn't looking sunny!

Well set up concert venue, albeit few food options once inside concert venue itself. I should have made the most of the many shop and food/drinks outlets surrounding, but did enjoy a while in the free Virgin Games (Xbox) experience.

Great venue for all kinds of events. Like most places if in the actual Arena, food and drinks are offencively over priced, and leaving after popular shows is a bit of a crush.
However in general it is a great place to visit. Lots of shopping and eateries to visit.

Iconic! Spectacular!
Worth visiting.
Boasts of the popular, large capacity Arena; access to the arena is restricted so make sure you get a ticket for whatever is on show.
Well planned layout with shops of almost all the top brands you know.
Several restaurants and eateries are on site; so many options to choose from. Most of them require prior reservations and bookings.
Might be crowded during peak hours or peak times. Again, worth visiting for the real experience.

Uncomfortable seats that feel as if they were borrowed from an old bus. No back support, lumpy seat and poor leg room for tall people. Apart from that it's a great venue.

Very nice place to hangout with friends and colleagues. Walking distance from tube station this place has lots of restaurants, shopping areas or brands, cinemas theatre, games or activities areas like bowling, etc. You can also have artificial sky diving experience inside the O2 arena. Stunning venue which makes for a great experience. Only went to the show but really enjoyed the stroll in. They do have a problem with overcharging and at the same time confiscating people’s sweets. I understand alcohol but if you plan taking your own toffees in with one person, distribute them between your group, otherwise security will tuck into them. Brilliant night out though 🤓

The Museum of London is a world-renowned landmark that showcases the gorgeous history of England in ancient, medieval to modern era. Out of all the museums in London, it is perhaps the most famous and attracts tourists of all kinds, especially history buffs and archaeology experts.
Last months before the Museum moves to a new location. Here at London Wall (opened in 1976) the experience is truly magical. The history of London from prehistoric times to the 90s. All the artifacts very well presented. A great visit for both adults and kids. Let's hope the new Museum site will keep some of the old charm.

Great place to take the kids and free too! Really informative about the amazing history of London, Londinium, Lundenwic, Lundenburh or whatever it want's to call itself 😉
If you DO want to touch the walls of old Londinium as I did. You will actually find those outside the museum. Go outside, turn left and keep going left till you see a set of stairs that go all the way to ground level. Go down them and walk up the road a bit. Then directly opposite the carpark entrance you will is your first bit of wall. Go down the stairs and into the garden as well because there is a lot more wall in the area!

This museum is well set up to tell the story of of London from prehistoric times all the way into the modern Era. Each section highlights major events, technologies, and traditions to illustrate the corresponding time period. The medieval section and the women's suffrage exhibits particularly captured my attention.

A very unorganized, chaotic museum with not a lot of organization in my opinion. Would be easy to miss things. Exhibits were good in places but never sure the order or the direction to look at them. Not enough on certain time periods yet more on others. Needs more structure. Free to enter so worth coming for something to do. Nice little gift shop and there’s a cafe but did not use it so cannot comment about that.

Just my personal opinion but this is the best museum in London, my personal favourite. It's all great, it's all super interesting. They don't flood you with useless information like some museums. There's interactive stuff, there are different types of exhibits. It's just superb. The Black Death and Victorian sections in particular deserve a mention. Camden Market is a large and eclectic market with a youthful vibe. It sells fashion and accessories, music, and more. It is located in Camden Town underground station.
On a Sunday, it's an amazing place with a lot of good vibes and people coming from all over the world to enjoy the international amazing variety of food, drinks, and sweets. There are authentic restaurants from all continents. The foods generally taste really good. The market is also very pleasant to the eye and the lake makes it even more beautiful. You can also buy different souvenirs from international shops as well. You can have a good time regardless whether you're a family or younger groups. Highly recommended.

Camden Market is a vibrant and eclectic destination that's a must-visit for anyone seeking a diverse shopping and dining experience. The market's unique mix of alternative fashion, arts, crafts, and international cuisine creates a captivating atmosphere that's truly one-of-a-kind. However, it's important to note that the popularity of Camden Market can lead to overcrowding, especially during weekends and peak tourist seasons. This can make navigating through the narrow streets and exploring the stalls a bit challenging, detracting from the overall enjoyment of the visit. If you prefer a more relaxed shopping environment, consider visiting during off-peak hours to fully appreciate the market's charm without feeling overwhelmed by the crowds.

One of the best markets in London with four quarters/sections: Camden Lock, Stables Market, Hawley Wharf and Buck Street. Each quarter has its own style and is good for different things. Not a night place for kids but for adults. Kids can be brought during daytime. I don't mean kids aren't allowed, but small kids can be better taken to other places. It's a nice place to hangout with old and new friends. Plenty of eateries and pubs to choose from. Very hustling and bustling area. A lot of restaurants close at 8 and most by 9. Not a very clean place too. Go during day to click pictures in the umbrella street.

Made a quick visit here for few hours in the evening, great selection of vendors from apparel to food.
Picked up some body wash from a soap vendor which was great as needed small containers to take on flight.
Food was great, stopped at multiple food vendors and bought little bites from as many as I could until full.
There is also little containers people can sit in to stay warm and sit down to eat food they bought in the market, these are free and maintained by volunteers.

I love the vibe of Camden market. Punk rock, to granola, preppy and casual. This place is great for all. So much choice in food vendors, something to please everyone. I love the new renovations to the market. It's chic, clean and very inviting. A definite must see if you ever visit London.

Very crowded but fun. There are many interesting stuff to see and buy but it looks like the quality of goods are quite poor. Great place to try all kind of cuisine and different activities. Got many good bubble tea shops around as well

Had a great time wandering around Camden Market on a Sunday. Plenty of variety amongst the shops and stalls. Also some great food stands. Definitely worth a visit. Situated beside the lovely canal too, which is ideal for a good walk.

A delightful and superb shopping destination, offering a diverse array of antique shops, clothing boutiques, kitchenware outlets, and souvenir stalls. Additionally, the abundance of dining options adds to the overall charm. It was indeed a wonderful experience.

Lots of different food and shop options. It was definitely very crowded on the weekend around lunch time - we had visited during the week at the same time and it was much easier to get around and see everything. The food is more reasonable them some of the costs of the different stores and shops. Great photo opportunities throughout. Definitely recommend swinging by the soho 'ice cream' spot here too. Awesome take on ice cream!

As a local what’s to say about Camden? It’s fun, it’s busy, full of tourists and unique shops. People thinking outside of the box and a more relaxed feeling. It feels a bit like Brighton some times. Next to the canals, plenty of places to enjoy sunny days and full of unique characters. It’s definitely a side of London I’m glad we have and everyone should visit. Both locals and tourists.

One of the most affordable markets in London. Best place for souvenirs and many more gifts. It has a variety of shops for all kinds of audiences. Along with this it has mouth watering food joints and some well known food corners to satisfy your taste buds. On weekends, it's a jam packed Market with long queues outside shops and restaurants. This is a must visit place for shopping and eating whenever you are in London.

Cassiobury Park is a vast expanse of land covering 190 acres, comprising open grasslands and woodlands. It is the largest and most enjoyable park in Watford, offering sports facilities, kids' attractions, and a nature reserve. Visitors can feed ducks in the lake which is clean and beautiful. The park's café serves delicious breakfasts. A pleasant walking track along the river adds to its charm as an indispensable place for weekends.
Watford's largest and most enjoyable park. You can always come across an event there. There is a pleasant park area for children. There is a nice walking track by the river and it relaxes you a lot. Indispensable place for weekends.

Was looking for a place to kill time my toddler son in Watford. Noticed this large park on Google maps, and tested. Was nicely surprised, it turned to be on of top UK parks by voting. It is really good, spacious, very green, has a wetlands reserve, rich playground, green area, walking paths, open air gym, fountains and shallow pools! Kids really have massive fun here. There public toilets, cafes and tap water stand. Everything is quite new, not much wear and tear. Enjoyed lock operations to move a boat upstream. Great experience! Parking is super busy there, arrive early, or choose a underground station nearby. More or less people start to leave only at 5 pm. It is a full day family time.

Either alone or with your friends and at the end, get together at the coffee shop for a chat.

There's something for everyone in this park. There's parking in the park, but we parked at the station, which was really nominal for a whole day of parking on the weekend. Eating places are good and in the summer would be a good picnic spot.

Came here for a walk and haven't been here for quite some time but it was really good. The parking is free for two hours. There is a splash park and playground for the children and a wonderful cafeteria for everyone. It was a really hot day but the walk through the woods and by the canal was really nice. Sorry I thought it inappropriate to take pictures of the splash park and playground as there were children present.

Absolutely love the walks in cassiobury park, walked here often during the spring and summer and occasionally in the autumn. Went on long and short walks, great for walking different routes deep into the woods and see all different kinds of nature trees and flowers. Would recommend here for a peaceful walk!

Lovely Place! I spent my whole day there till sunset. We can feed the ducks. Lake is so beautiful and clean. It was a lovely experience. Cafe is so good and the breakfast was so delicious. After spending time there, we walked to the Watford Town centre. Must visit it too. It is also an amazing place with yummy food.

This is my number one park for a day out with kids on a hot summer day! Splash pools are so much fun and it's so well organised! There are parasols and benches, even changing rooms. And best of all entry is free! The park is massive! Plenty of space for everyone and a lot of picnic tables. Mini rail for £2.50/pp is also a great addition 👍Big playground with a bouncy castle and trampoline for an extra charge. This place is also great for walks as it's a nature reserve. Kids loved splashing in a river too. Definitely coming back.

Amazing natural park, very well maintained with plenty of things to do for kids and families. Two hours of free parking available which is very convenient for walk or running in the park. There is a newly refurbished cafe and fountain play area for kids. Park have multiple walking tracks which leads to Rickmansworth or Hemel Hampstead, also the walk around the canal is amazing. Park is huge of 160 acres, it’s a must visit place if you are around Watford area, highly recommended.

Lovely large park. But the toilets need cleaning more often. Very smelly and some blocked. Cafe nice, but very small. You can park for free for 2 hours, but make sure you still get a ticket from the machine.

Amazing place to hangout when you want to let go and free your mind. Best option is to cycle around the lake!

It is an enormous park. Amazing facilities which have been maintained very well. They have a huge play area with a bouncy castle and bungee jump trampoline. The bouncy castle and trampoline closes in the evenings. The water park is quite big with a small pool and seating along the perimeter. There is a weir and a lock for boats. There is a miniature railway as well. There are even small fish in the stream that runs through the park. Parking is free after 6pm.

Great place to take the kids on a warm-hot day. Great facilities to change with private cubicles. On-site cafe has a variety of hot and cold drinks, food and all important ice cream. Not cheap so you can bring your own and enjoy eating in the wet area on the benches.
The entrance and exits are unmanned and not self closing so you need to watch your kids all the time before they disappear out of sight.
Buggy friendly and accessible - water is not too deep in the splash park and plenty of space for kids to run around and even play with water guns!
Lots of fun.
Outside the splash park there is a pretty well equipped playground with usually equipment plus also a zip wire.
Car park is busy on warm days so parking might be tricky to find but car park can hold around 200 cars. First 2 hours free but make sure you still register with RingGo for the free 2 hours so you can add more hours later. Lots of cars assuming free parking doesn’t need registering and getting PCN/tickets! :-/
