A former upscale restaurant, my guides explained the history of Kaneyu and Japanese culture and tradition thoroughly as we walked through (English was also available). The traditional Japanese-style building is made of 200-year old cedar and is in great condition. Visitors can also pick a yukata (traditional Japanese wear) to try on. The tatami rooms with long, open hallways that overlook a neatly kept garden make for the PERFECT place to take some pictures. Also, their gift shop area features various local goods that would be a great souvenir! Definitely want to go back to try their lunch and/or dinner one day.

Such a peaceful place to visit. All the wooden aspects of the building are so well preserved. Definitely a must see in Noshiro City.

(Translated by Google) If you come to Noshiro area, I think it's worth getting off at high speed and going to see it. The 110 tatami mat hall is a masterpiece. It cannot be a prefecture on the Pacific side where typhoons come, such as making glass doors without walls. A building that can be endured when the forestry industry was prosperous, such as the ceiling that combines a single plate of Akita cedar. Please note that you cannot reach the entrance with Google's guidance. Enter the place where the Chinese restaurant is located and it is on the right side. (Translated by Google) I visited for the first time on March 3, 2024. Former Japanese Restaurant Kinyu is a former Japanese restaurant built in 1937, and the building is registered as a national tangible cultural property, using plenty of natural Akita cedar and making full use of the wood processing techniques of the time. I was able to see it without making a reservation or paying a tour fee. On that day, a meeting was being held in the large hall on the second floor, so entry to the second floor was prohibited. The large hall and each room on the first floor were worth seeing. The plants in the garden were fenced off for the winter, so I would like to visit again when the weather gets warmer next time. At that time, I would definitely like to take a look at the ceiling of the Full Moon Room, which is made of a single board with a total length of 9.1 meters, and the large hall, which measures 110 tatami mats (approximately 180 square meters).

I had always wanted to take a look at the large hall on the second floor, and every corner of it, from the pillars to the ceiling, was beautiful. The pillars of the stairs were also magnificent. You can see a variety of fittings decorated with Kumiko work, so if you take your time you can spend about an hour enjoying it. (Translated by Google) I was able to feel the great prosperity of Noshiro, Akita Prefecture, the city of trees. The building was built in 1937, about 80 years ago. There are many places to see, but the highlight is the large hall on the second floor. When I first looked at the ceiling, I noticed a swastika-shaped board. The ceiling design, which I had never seen before, was a major feature of this space. This ceiling board is a tatami mat made from natural Akita cedar with a diameter of 2 meters! It's a huge one. Nowadays, it seems difficult to make the same thing due to the procurement of materials. The sides of the large 110 tatami space were completely covered with glass shoji screens, allowing soft light to shine in from the hallway. The lattice design, which must have been created by a craftsman in Noshiro, was simple yet careful and pleasant to look at. It is a cultural property that can be visited for free. I think it's worth a visit if you have a chance to go nearby. I didn't buy the goods with the swastika-shaped ceiling after much hesitation, but I feel like it might have been a good idea to buy them. I came by bicycle for the camping ground, the road is stoney and steep and it's very hard to push the bike all the way up. Many insects on the camping ground and noone else was there, so it was kind of scary... But the light in the toilets worked, also the water was fine. Maybe more suited for cars than bicycles... Also not much to see from the camping ground because trees hide the view... The park itself seemed nice.

When I saw that the second torii gate faced the riverbed, I imagined that some people crossed the Yoneshiro River to worship. It is located on a curved part of the Yoneshiro River and is reminiscent of the topography of Kumano Shrine.

You can see the white torii gate and signboard of Shichiza Shrine on the left. For the general public, just in front of I think it would be a good idea to park your car and go to worship. There is an anecdote about Hachiro Taro from the legend of Sanko. It's like a place. When you pass through the torii gate, there are many huge trees, and it is a very nice space. Follow the road and at the end you will see a private house. There is Shichiza Shrine on the left, and a torii gate on the right. Pass through it and go down the stone steps to reach the Yoneshiro River. Apparently there was a story about Hachiro Taro fighting around here. There is a huge rock in the middle of the river. That's the landmark. It's nice to have the river flowing in front of you. When visiting Shichiza Shrine, open the door and There are offering boxes and amulets, so Those who buy amulets seem to pay into an offering box. If you enter the shrine from the right side, you will see a huge Kurobiitaya (Ezoitaya) tree enshrined there. There are many large trees such as zelkova and cedar, It was a nice space. I didn't know that you could get a goshuin, so I'm looking forward to going next time. The main battle will be at Lake Towada (defeated by Nansobo), but local deities will also fight regional battles. This Shichiza Shrine is located at a place where the Yoneshiro River meanderes. (Location with the best view) In the local battle here, Tenjin fights and drives Hachirotaro out (Ko Michizane is not only smart but also has great fighting ability!) So, the deity enshrined here is Tenjin. (The god of Ezo was erased in the Edo period, so I guess this is also the case here.) Strongly recommended. By the way, Hachirotaro is a good-looking young man who ate his friend's char, drank a lot of water, turned into a dragon, and created Lake Towada. (Mr. Jinzaburo Deguchi seems to have said that he received the spirit of Yamata no Orochi.)
