Shiden-Kai Fighter Aircraft Exhibition Hall

AMAZING! The main attraction is a water river, perfect to play in, swim through or just float along. The slides are varied, interesting and exciting and the wave pool? So good. Add clean and numerous facilities as well as great food, cheap. If you can go, GO! You won't regret it. P.S. bring sun screen!

A visual slice of WW2 history featuring a downed Kawanishi N1K fighter plane recovered from the sea floor. The museum itself is small and isolated meaning not a lot of people go there, perfect for a quite reflection on times gone by. The main attraction is the fighter, propellers bent back from the moment of impact with the ocean, frozen in time and telling of intense action in the skies above! Unfortunately like the majority of rural museums there is no English or any other language apart from Japanese. This may seem obvious as it is in Japan however it leaves you with a sense of mystery as you depend on the pictures to gather information. If you do not speak the language my advice would be to visit with a Japanese friend or have Google translate at the ready. Admission is free and the views from the gardens are absolutely beautiful. If you happen to be in the area I would highly recommend checking this place out, the impacting presence of the long fallen fighter is well worth the drive! Enjoy.

Good place to learn about the plain. Not much English commentary though.

The museum dedicated to the Shiden kai plane. It's free entry though there is only one room. It's very difficult to reach this museum so I would only recommand to those who are near Sukumo or are hardcore fans of japanese planes.

Slept here on the Pilgrimage in 2018. Free lodging, just ask a monk for some help. Amazing temple! Thank you so much for the hospitality! Absolutely beautiful!

Spacious and pretty temple. You can call in to have a sleep over. Around ¥6000 per night with 2 meals.

(Translated by Google) The parking lot can accommodate about 10 cars for free. If you go from the front, there will be trees in the way and it will be difficult to enter, so use the front and go to the right, then go past the bank sign and turn left! It's easy to get in from there. The precincts were easy to get around, and the thick cedar trees, turtles, and raccoon dog figurines were cute. The post office is inside the main hall and photography is prohibited.

Those walking the pilgrimage route will cross Matsuo Pass. Kanjizaiji Temple is the first sacred place of the Bodhi Dojo in Iyo Province. This is an old temple of the Daikakuji sect of the Shingon sect, founded by Kobo Daishi in 807 as a place of imperial prayer for Emperor Heijo. The main image of Yakushi Nyorai, the side Buddha of Amida Nyorai, and the Eleven-faced Kannon Bodhisattva are said to have been created by Kukai. Kanjizaiji Temple is located at the farthest point from the first temple, Ryozenji Temple, and is also called the ``back checkpoint of Shikoku sacred sites.'' It is said that the main hall was rebuilt in 1963 using donations from believers from all over the country. The Daishi-do Hall, which was rebuilt in 1993 (Heisei) 5, is made entirely of Japanese cypress and has a treasure-shaped structure, and in the corridor you can step on sand from 88 locations in Shikoku. On the outer wall, there are three relief statues of Daishi: Chigo, Shugyo, and Secret Key. The Daishi statue is unveiled on June 15th every year.

I received a card commemorating the 1250th birthday of Kobo Daishi, but it seems that I can only receive it until the end of this year. (Translated by Google) We brought an important customer to Ainan Town. I was able to stop by a roadside station for the first time in a while 🙆 Although it is a small roadside station, you can find fresh fishing, fresh vegetables, and of course Ainan Town! A roadside station with a wide variety of souvenirs from Shikoku on display! That's what it feels like! I felt that the parking lot was somehow inefficient, perhaps because the space for large vehicles had to be made into a roundabout. 😂 Still, I stopped by twice a day...and was able to park both times👏 Each time, the sightseeing bus stopped for a toilet break! In that sense...it's a valuable roadside station in this area.

Kashima is a tiny island only a short ferry ride from Iyo-Hojo. It is a fun and safe place for children to play and swim and feed the deer. It has an old fashioned family holiday feeling and the restaurant has views over the water and serves delicious affordable meals.

It's a small island in Matsuyama city. It's a perfect time to do barbeque, swimming, and camping during summer here. Clean beach. There is a hill on this island, at which the top of the mountain you can see the beautiful scenery. There are cute deers, also. In summer, from here, it's a great place to enjoy Hanabi of mitsuhama. To access this island by ferry from Hojo's port

You can enjoy running on the beach, drinking beer during the day, cooking outdoors, and even fishing, although it takes up a lot of space. (Translated by Google) Born and raised in Hojo. When I saw Kashima for the first time in five years, it was the same as before. Looks like there are still deer. Let's take a ferry and go there soon. On February 16th, I went to Kashima. 15 minutes to the observation deck. The view from the top is amazing. You can see Mt. Takanawa and Meoto Iwa. Walk around only half of the island. I was able to go around once before... but that's a shame! It was very fun and nostalgic. (Translated by Google) It is a wonderful island where you can enjoy the sea, mountains, and deer in just 2 to 3 hours. I went there for the first time on a Saturday in January after staying in Matsuyama on a business trip. I was drawn to the ease of the 2-minute ferry ride and the deer-shaped boat. Although it only takes 2 minutes, the boat ride feels like an attraction, and once you arrive at the island, the highly transparent sea will lift your mood and give you a trip-like feeling. The deer is inside the fence and is cute as it meows when begging for food. The ocean waves are calm and you can see the fish, and the beach is white sand and pebbly sand mixed with glittery gold glitter. Collecting small seashells and sea glass, there are few people, and the only footprints are those of birds, so it's plenty of fun even in the winter. I also took the opportunity to climb a small mountain to the observation deck. The view from the observation deck is certainly panoramic, but perhaps because it is a small observation deck, I have a fear of heights. There was a staircase separate from the mountain trail, so I decided to go down the stairs, but it was closed midway. I was afraid to turn back, so I took a detour through a thickly vegetated animal trail called Fonza-no-michi, which was still very exciting. Summer sea looks fun too. It was a small island that I would like to invite someone to visit again.
