Cape Ashizuri, located at the tip of the Ashizuri Peninsula in Japan, is a stunning promontory offering sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and a nearby lighthouse. This remote cape, part of the Ashizuri-Uwakai National Park, is known for its breathtaking landscapes and is a must-visit for travelers exploring Kochi. The observatory provides spectacular 270-degree views of the dynamic Pacific, allowing visitors to appreciate the grandeur of Mother Nature.
Was pretty windy when we went. The view was nice and a good well marked walking trail to walk around m. The free foot onsen was closed on Wednesday. Been to many other beautiful capes but if you are close by, worth a visit.

Bus ride to and from Nakamura Short hike around Cape Ashizuri Side trip bus ride to Tatsukushi Coast Good service by local bus companies Great scenery Great local / cultural experience Not many sign posts My photos include Cape Ashizuri and Tatsukushi Coast areas

Our dinner were really delicious. The sunset was amazingly beautiful. Apart from the onsen, users could also enjoy free drinks at the hotel lobby. Quite a relaxing place.
Kin-man, Percy Hau — Google review
The ocean view from the top of the cape spreads out. There is a statue of John Manjiro Nakahama at the entrance. Although he was only a fisherman, he played a major role for opening Japan at the end of Tokugawa shogunate era. Public transportation from JR Nakamura Station to Cape Ashizuri is available, however that is very unfrequent. Please check the schedule or timetable before you visit Shimanto city.

Great service area. Well stocked gift shop. Tasty hot snacks, delicious ice-cream. Local fruit and veg shop. A restaurant too. Can get very busy on weekends and public holidays. Definitely recommend stopping there.

The food in the restaurant here is really good, and as much as possible is made with local ingredients. The service is also incredibly fast, which makes it a great spot for a work lunch. The menu has pictures for everything, so this is a great place to go even if you don't speak much Japanese.
Sarah Walas — Google review
It's a typical rest station... There's a toilet, snacks and souvenirs (among other things).

(Translated by Google) It's a pretty interesting roadside station. There was a corner with figurines on display, and I think it was Kaiyodo, a famous workshop. Is it near here? They also sold steamed buns made with Manchuken's famous janmen noodles. I didn't eat it because I'm going to Manchuken, but it looks pretty good.

(Translated by Google) I heard about it at a roadside station on New Year's Day and decided to go there. I asked the receptionist why it was in this location and the mystery was solved. I asked an older person to explain it to me in detail. thank you very much. Apparently the founder's father is from this area. The current president is Kuroshio Town. I also received flyers for Kaiyodo Hobby Centers throughout Kansai, so I plan to go to all of them. I think everyone from children to adults will have a lot of fun as there are some nostalgic things. It was nice to see Eva's scenes recreated with figures. Kaiyodo's models are truly exquisite and can be enjoyed just by looking at them. Wow lol There's so much more than just anime and figures. There's also an introduction to the creator, so hey. death. I was impressed by the amazing technology. I was disappointed that Kaiyodo Kappakan was closed, but I'm looking forward to coming back again. I also went to Umanosuke Shrine, which I heard about at the reception, but it's better not to take a regular car (it's more impossible than not). I went there because I really like roads. (Compact car 4WD) When you enter the museum, you can get coins from the rattle at the entrance. You can also buy gacha gacha with cash at the museum shop. There is also a currency exchange machine which is convenient. Normally, my partner would get mad if I did it while I was going to the bathroom, but this time I was able to do it without any hesitation. I tried it twice and was able to stop it... but that's a shame. I bought some stickers, but I would like them to make kanji stickers as well. I sometimes see Tamiya stickers on cars and motorcycles, but I'd like to put one with Kaiyodo's kanji on it. I would definitely buy it if it were available. Thank you very much. If you like it, it will take some time to tour, and since it is located deep in the mountains, I think it would be a good idea to pack some sweets in your car. It was convenient to be able to use various types of electronic money for admission fees. It was good.

Although you will inevitably have to go by car, there is a large parking lot in front of the building, and you can enter the building immediately after getting off your car. The inside was filled with figurines that gave a sense of Kaiyodo's history, and I was able to forget the time and have fun. The store has a wide selection of products, and I think it's a fun place to visit no matter how many times you visit. (Translated by Google) It was located as we went further and further into the mountains. There is parking along the road, but there is also a large parking lot at the bottom of the hill. There are a lot of figures, so are there nostalgic characters or the latest ones? There were a lot of characters on display that I didn't understand at all. I think this is an irresistible collection for those who like it. I also saw a car with a license plate outside of Shikoku. Souvenirs range in price from a few hundred yen to tens of thousands of yen. It was fun to see a lot of things. This is Temple 37 of the 88 Shikoku Pilgrimage route. You can easily walk here from the train station. As you climb up the stairs to get into the temple, you can see stone pillars with the name of donors to the temple by the side of the stairs. You must also read the sentences on the stairs, be mindful of the words. Visitors who are interested can book a stay at the temple. The main hall is very impressive , especially the art features on the ceiling. One can get souvenirs from the gift shop.one can tie blessing papers or strings at the designated place.

Lovely templed filled with art and even a tuktuk of all things. You can stay the night “shukubo” if you make reservations. Not every day you get to stay at a temple so why not give it a shot? The staff is super friendly and the head priest is a character in the best of ways. Definitely coming back.

My favourite temple on shikoku I've visited so far for simple reasons, I really likes the random beautiful colours just around the area the English writing around the place was really cool aswell! The people here where also very friendly!
Samuel Piatscheck — Google review
The write up on the internet doesn't do this temple justice. Definitely worth a visit (and don't forget to look up as they've collected hundreds of small paintings from across Japan and decorated the ceiling of the main temple).

Funky art temple on the Shikoku 88. The resident monk showed us around and explained some of the art
Daniel Moore — Google review
People probably see it as a small simple temple, but it was one of my favorites. You get the feeling it is very much part of the community. The paintings on the ceiling are fascinating. The 6am prayers with the monk were like a rock concert as he was so talented at singing and drumming. The shukubo was not the best or the worst, pretty good value for money. Also if you are a Spanish speaker there is a lady there that lived in Latin America for 20 years and loves speaking Spanish.

Probably the most beautiful temple with unusual artwork with the most beautiful story.
