Beaches
Upon arrival at 6 AM in Isla Colon, a boat tour was taken at 9 AM to Boca del Drago alongside Starfish Beach and Bird Island. The last few days spent in Panama were primarily on the main island of Bocas del Toro, where walking around, relishing tasty Italian cuisine, taking a trip by boat to Isla Bastimentos, playing in the waves at Red Frog Beach and savoring the nightlife on Isla Colon were some of the activities enjoyed.

Starfish Beach

Outdoor Activities
Starfish Beach, located on Isla Colon in Panama's Bocas del Toro region, boasts a tranquil shoreline and abundant starfish. Visitors to the beach can enjoy the convenience of nearby concession stands offering refreshments and snacks. Boat tours are available for exploring other nearby destinations such as Bird Island and Boca del Drago. This sandy paradise is a popular attraction for tourists visiting Isla Colon, who also enjoy the culinary offerings of local Italian restaurants and nightlife options on the island.
We took the bus next to the park (2.5$) which leaves every 30 minutes or once is full. The ride takes around 50 minutes on a bumpy road ( they are fixing it but it will take some years until it's ready). Once you get off the bus you can walk 15 minutes or take a water taxi (1.5$) to starfish beach. The beach is very nice, the water was calm and there are plenty of starfish to see. We were lucky and saw sloths and dolphins as well. Also we had a very nice lobster for lunch for an affordable price.

Would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the horrible bars and restaurants near this beach. Beach itself was very nice, but all the bars/restaurants take zero responability in taking care of the environment. There was trash everywhere, and loud music to hide the noise of the diesel engines (to provide for electricity) in the background. All garbage is just being pushed into the wild jungle behind these bars/restaurants. Please don't support this and avoid the beach in it's entirely for as long as this doesn't change.
Yenthe Blockx — Google review
This beach is beautiful; however there is a lots of garbage behind restaurants, it would be nice if municipality decide to clean it up! Lots of boats, exhaust fumes and loud music. That's unfortunate, If you want to visit better beach, red frog beach is much cleaner and nicer.

It is a place that could pass as paradise on earth. We were there today, Monday and have to say it was busy. Unfortunately, the same story here again, too much tourism and too little structure (to protect everything better) destroys everything. We did see some Starfish but there weren't many. You can also enjoy delicious food and drinks here, but keep in mind that you will be here for at least 3.5 hours (which is long by my standards) and the smell of the waste is unbearable, you can smell it almost everywhere, which is extremely disappointing. Hopefully, efforts will be made to prevent these scenes in the future.
Peter Schampaert — Google review
The beach is crowded by cheap bars and terrible music, nothing compared to the wild experience I was expecting. You can see few starfish but I would suggest to keep on walking until the bars ends and you can enjoy some pure nature
The Frankye — Google review
Playa Estrella isnt the beach you go to just watch starfish. This beach has restaurants across all the beach. Your boat captain will take you to whoever he has arrange a deal with. Food is good enough but restrooms are terrible and the waiting time for the food is even worst. Still, this has to do with the restaurants and not the beach. You can probably arrange to go snorkling for starfish on a more secluded part of the beach.
Harry Quinn — Google review
Very quiet largely unspoilt Caribbean beach with overhanging palms. Most notable however for the huge number of Starfish in the shallows that give the beach its name. Easy snorkelling enables you to see these starfish in only a couple of feet of water with virtually no waves. This said starfish, fascinating as their physiology is, are hardly a fascinating watch, right up there with watching paint dry so not worth a great deal of time.
Steve Seaman — Google review
The beach was very overcrowded when I went there. There wasn't any meter without people and loud music. It does have a nice atmosphere but don't go there if you want some relaxing beach time (at least not on weekends or holidays). Also didn't see any starfish. However, if you do go, make sure to not take the water taxi but walk there from bocas del drago. This was my favorite part of the visit. It's a stunning walk and you pass a lot of private little beaches.
L Vds — Google review
Amazing place. Went today, 30 may 2023, it was us and max 20 other people scattered around. Seen a bunch of starfish and a sloth. the water was crystal
Alexander — Google review
A beautiful spot, although the beach is narrow and it can get crowded. If you take the short walk from Drago, there are some beautiful sections of beach with very few people.
Matthew Taylor — Google review
It is so exciting to see starfish at the Starfish Beach! After the bus ride from Bocas del Toro followed by a walk beside the stunning sea from Bocas del Drago, you will be rewarded with a very pretty pristine beach, aqua water and orange starfish. Bring your swimming costume and snorkels!
Merinda Hewat-Cameron — Google review
If not too crowded, it can be one of the best beaches in Panama. Clean, not loud, spectacular.
Pranske Aš — Google review
Super nice beach area With plenty of opportunities to sit down or have a drink….
Alexander Schmidt — Google review
Super nice. There’s a huge drop off after like 10 steps in the shallow part. So make sure you can swim lol. There are a bunch of star fish at the drop off.
J Nguyen — Google review
Good place for some snorkeling to see very impressive and large starfish. It’s easy to get her with the bus from Bocas del toro square for 2,5 dollar for foreigners (leaving every full hour from 7 am). Way back it’s the same, from playa Estrella to bocas every hour.
Matthias Leba — Google review
Save your self the disappointment. Completely trashed beach. With really bad smell from the behind the scenes trash depot. Laud music from all sides. Not a place i would recommend.
Jacob Frahm Olsen — Google review
So very crowded! And with tourist banana boats. Plus, there are jellys. They told us not to go on a weekend. I read this with so many reviews, and we had our own boat, so we could’ve gone at any time, but it was supposed to be really stormy the next few days and so we decided to go to Starfish Beach on a Sunday. Big mistake. Every bit of the charm was lost as there were giant Tourist banana boats with 10 people each, bouncing along and screaming and yelling and I know they were having fun, but it took the entire beauty of the beach away. There is something pretty awful about a giant motorized boat with a bunch of people on it screaming really loudly that ruins the atmosphere of a tranquil beach. I don’t mind the banana-boat-type-fun loud fast boats. I just think that should be reserved for areas like Myrtle Beach South Carolina or other super populated touristy places. It felt really out of place to have them on Starfish Beach. I’m quite certain the starfishes didn’t appreciate it either. ;) We did see quite a few starfish, but again, the beach was super crowded. My son was also stung pretty badly by jellyfish! So often when the waters are calm and tranquil that does tend to be jellyfish, so be aware. I also saw some people handling the starfish, which made me cringe a little bit. You’re really not supposed to be picking them up. Right after my son was stung by the jellyfish we left, so we did not get the chance to explore any of the restaurants our walk down Drago Beach, so it was a bit of a shame. I’m sure the place is lovely if it was not on a weekend. Just having the really loud motorboat touristy situations was really incongruous with what a beautiful beach it was. Will I go back? Probably not, just because I know that there are jellyfish. But I really did want to go to Drago Beach, which you can walk to from Starfish Beach, and eat at one of the restaurants. That said, It is a gorgeous beach. I’ve been to so many beaches that look very similar, but are completely deserted, especially because we vacation a great deal on small sailboats, so we go to several deserted beaches. This reminded me of the quality of that type of beach. Beautiful, warm water, sandy beach, but again, just overrun with people and the occasional jellyfish.

Playa Bluff

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Playa Bluff is a secluded beach that's well-known for its strong waves, making it a popular spot for surfing. The beach is surrounded by trees and offers picturesque views. However, the sand can be sticky and the currents are quite powerful, so swimming isn't recommended. To get to town, catch one of the regular buses from Bar and Hotel Island Plantation - schedules are available at the bar.
Nice beach with sticky sand and large waves. Rip curls and waves make swimming difficult. The bus into town goes regularly from the Bar and Hotel Island Plantation. Ask for the schedule at the bar. Last busses go at 4 and at 6 p. m.

This is a WOW - Beach! You will be lonely there and the waves will be high. You can enjoy your day there. I recommend to go there by bike. It is a nice 30 minutes ride from the town.
Tom — Google review
It's a really impressive beach, but you must be very careful with the waves and currents, they're quite strong.

I truly enjoyed my stay here but especially because of a sweet and wonderful host named Melissa. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and comfortable for our stay. She provided me with aloe vera as there was no store near by to help with my sun burnt skin. My friend Ken loved this place just as much. Also, Carlos who took care of the grounds was super helpful and kind. We’ll definitely be returning and sending our friends and family here. Ps. the restaurant just a stones throw away had the best bbq pulled pork sandwich and fish! Pps. Respect the water and killer waves. That’s why only 4 stars. Not a friendly swim. I swam in the pool which was kept at a perfect temp and was fairly free of debris.
Carolyn Collin — Google review
Not good for swimming but for a little refreshment and nice empty beaches
Dominique Hofmann — Google review
Beautiful beach even when the waves are crashing the shoreline. The raw power of the sea makes you feel small. There are rips here, so you must be careful when entering the water. Definitely not recommended when the wind is blowing. The day we visited, the waves were 10ft (3m) plus in height. Nope, we didn't swim, just took in the beauty of nature. Beach was very clean. Some restaurants in the area like Oasis but check their times as they vary. It's a rough road, and a taxi will take up to 30 mins to get there. Price as of Jan 2023 is $15 for the cab each way. Can be biked, and there are many on this route. Well worth the trip to see this beach ⛱️

This isnt a calm beach where you can go for a dip. These waves will drag you around. But if you like that and are careful enough then you will like it. Good thing is theres a lot of shade for you to sit or lay. and relax. Theres one restaurant i didnt get to go but it is futher up the coast. 5/5 would go again. IG harry_quinn_

Basically beautiful beach and comfi shadow situation, but (currently) you can’t really go into the water because the massive waves are live threatening.. bathing is not really possible
Florian — Google review
Really beautiful beach with huge waves, not so good for swimming. We went there for a drink and lunch. The beach was big and perfect to relax in the shadows of the plams.
Maka15 — Google review
Do not take buses to or from here. They are not reliable. Locals say they rarely and randomly appear. Taxis $5 each are more dependable. Popular place for bodyboarding. Not really for safe swimming but walkable. Swim up the trail at la piscina.

A delightful and informative afternoon! I wish I wrote down the name of our guide because she was amazing. Note their hours!! You need to arrive on time for their tours and they are not every day. Please consult the website. Also, they had us sign in (it is a government site) and tell them our passport numbers so have those handy! (not your passports, but the numbers). With that said, my daughter is a scientist (chemistry major at Chapel Hill in the states) and if there is a Smithsonian research center anywhere nearby, we really try to go. We even boated to some that were very far away in other countries, as it is so helpful to see real scientists in real settings doing real work to inspire future generations. Science is not always glamorous, but it is so rewarding and important for the future of our planet! We saw several experiments in process, learned about other ongoing historical work (lots of artifacts to still unpack!) learned the history of this particular site, saw the housing buildings, discussed process and safety and diving and collaboration and so much more. We boated there (we rented our own boat) and after a brief bit of confusion (gosh, I need to learn to speak better Spanish) we were walked to the front to sign in (see above) and then the tour began. Post-tour they let us walk to the nearby store and then come back to our boat; it is difficult for us to get groceries since we are so far out from any stores (staying at a remote overwater bungalow). Thank you again to our tour guide (sorry I forgot your name!) Your tour was inspiring!

We were very excited and we were very disappointed. Plastic Bottle Castle is an amazing idea to save the Earth! Please if you are on Bocas del Toro, go and visit Robert , the Plastic King. Support the plastic reusing/recycling project! If WE humans want a better future we have to reduce plastic use and making wast! Save the earth! :)

Very remote. Next door is a recreation park with pool music beautiful surroundings. A great object and the builder continues to be a lot of inspiration and success
mario reichlmeir — Google review
Although the Castle showed on Google Maps to be open, when we arrived. It was closed up. We cycled down to a recreation area with an outside pool, the security man on the gate didn't know if we could enter just for drinks and had to speak to someone on the deck of an overlooking house. Only then were we admitted. After bout 20 minutes we left and cycled back to the gatehouse/Castle. Some of the building were of metal construction filled with whole plastic bottles. Not very impressive. Rather gimmicky.
John McCulloch — Google review
A very nice and fun place, with a serious background. Be a prisoner, sentenced for crimes against the nature. Very comfortable rooms, a bar, a long slide to the pool. The castle is for rent as well, for up to 8 people. It has a bar in the roof with a jungle view. The project is initiated by Robert Bezeau, who will guide you through the property and explain the project the you, even if you're not staying. There's a lot more to the project than just being a hotel. You can actively participate on reducing the amount of plastic thrown into the ocean.
bader Khlifi — Google review
Three stars because the hotel is good but I paid $12 to wash my clothes and all the white clothes are now ruined...I try to ask for a solution and they just don't assume it's their fault , result: I lost twelve dollars and all my white clothes are destroyed and it's my fault haha
Estebàn Garcia — Google review
This place is designed to aware people of the environmental damage we do to nature by consuming plastic in general. I think places like this one are the ones that makes the difference in the world and we need to support this kind of places. The idea Robert (the owner) has is to create a better world for the future generations not only of humans but all life forms in general.

I just stayed in the hostel close by and somehow it's more known as plastic bottle village so adding the review here too. Lovely owners and a beautiful place. Everything is clean and there is a awesome kitchen equipped with all you need. It's still new and from what I heard it's still in the starting shoes :) The pool with bar is awesome and invites for party. Some Coffee and a watertank to refill own bottles would be great (they did it a few times at the bar for me for free though :). It's a bit outside the town but taxi is 3 to 5 Dollar and they offer a shuttle for free every now and then. The local bus goes from 6am to 8pm ish and is a dollar (Drago).
Dom — Google review
Some frames with plastic bottles in wire cages. Why?
trevor — Google review
It is not really a village. Just a rather small castle. Moreover, I totally diasgree on their idea/goal to make you feel guilty and be out "in prison for crimes against nature". Many people always dispose their waste in the correct bins. To me the issue is at regulators who allow plastic export and big companies who dump it instead of recycle or burn it. I literally saw trucks being dumped in rivers in third world countries. That's where steps should be made, not giving individual consumers the feeling that they are doing so bad by drinking a bottle of coca cola and throwing it in the (recycling) bin.

Awesome beach bar! Relaxed atmosphere with ice cold beer and great food. You can sit and watch the surf, play beach volleyball, and listen to live music a few nights a week. Mikael and the crew are super friendly, hospitable, and welcoming. We found a lot of comfort here, whether working through the day or simply putting our feet in the sand with a cold drink! Worth a visit and we will definitely be back!

Great setting. Our drinks and food were good but it did seem pricey. A burger with fries, a taco and 3 fruit juices for $31. Good location to probably hang out for a few hours on a nice day as you can swim and surf right there

Bibi's on the Beach is a popular spot in Bocas del Toro, known for its seafood specials, margaritas, and stunning views of the surrounding islands. This beachfront restaurant offers beach access, swimming, and snorkeling opportunities. Visitors can enjoy Sunday Funday with live music and DJ while taking in the picturesque waterfront setting. Additionally, guests can take a $1.50-$2 boat ride to Carenero Island for more exploration and adventure.
Feb,2022 wow lunch…. Love their passion fruit margarita! Best I ever had. And only $6!! Ordered the Lobster salad but they were not available. Server recommended seafood salad. Scrumptious … octopus so tender, shrimps so tasty, squid moist and tender, mussels cooked just right and …presentation was artistic! Only $15 would have cost twice that in US! Very good value and tasty. The ambience was also great. We were under the shaded umbrella on the deck with a good sea breeze. Would definitely return to try other dishes .
Mona Ingram — Google review
Our experience at this restaurant was unfortunately quite disappointing. To start with, our expectations were dashed when the vegetarian dish we ordered turned out to contain fish. Despite politely pointing this out, we had to ask multiple times before a replacement dish was served. Overall, the quality of the food left much to be desired and failed to impress us. Furthermore, the service was extremely lacking. The staff seemed to ignore us and exhibited clear signs of annoyance when we tried to get their attention. It was also frustrating that we had to chase after the waiters multiple times just to get cutlery. This lack of attentiveness and commitment unfortunately made our visit less than enjoyable. As if that wasn't enough, after the meal, two-thirds of our group felt unwell and experienced nausea. This clearly indicates issues with either the quality or preparation of the food. All in all, we cannot recommend this restaurant. There are certainly other places with beautiful views and a more pleasant dining experience.

It was a toss up for me to give this place 3 or 4 stars. Could have been 4. Some of what we got was amazing! It was some of the best ceviche we have ever had. Also the drinks were great. My wife and daughter had a pasta dish with chicken though and did not really enjoy it. I didn’t try it so I can’t say for myself. The sand fleas like others mentioned were very bad but they did have some oil for repellent thank goodness. The other dish we had was the seafood platter in the house sauce . It was not bad but I would not be rushing out to get it again either. We would definitely go back for drinks and ceviche but probably not for a meal. View is greatly

Wow, such a fabulous restaurant with amazing views! We took a $2 pp water taxi to the restaurant from Bocas Town. Waiter Will was very attentive and recommended dishes that were hands down divine. I highly recommend Ceviche BiBi’s the freshest Pina Colada’s that bartender Bernardo topped with fresh coconut pieces, Coconut and Curry Shrimps dinner. The meals were prepared with such care and presentation that would cost upwards of $30 each in the states. It’s definitely worth the trip from any of the Bocas islands and they have happy hour from 4-7 with great drink prices.

We spent an amazing week at Skully's House. Our hotel room accommodated the 5 of us comfortably and was beautifully decorated with an amazing view of the water. The facilities and service was impeccable. We loved the music and daily activities around the bar/pool/game area, including the morning beachfront workouts. Fun and lively environment. They also rent bikes, ATV's, and motorcycles at Flying Pirates on premise which was a great convenience and fun. We can't wait to come back to Bocas and stay at Skully's again. We went for drinks and food, but this place is a very popular place based on location and activities for travelers (particularly backpackers or surfers). The bar belongs to the resort, but there are four separate, very small independent restaurants offering different types of cuisine. Great place to chill - or to participate in beer pong nights- if that's your thing.

It's a great place for anyone who likes to drink smoothies and meanwhile lie down on a deck chair enjoying the view after swimming in the pool. If you're more into playing ping pong, pool, chess or just having a drink at the bar, you're still at the right place. Everyday is a different event, especially the karaoke night is amazing! The dorms are super clean and uniquely designed. Everyone has a bit of privacy which is cool. The shared kitchen is big and completely great for cooking but bring your own spices and oil! I would highly recommend everyone to come to skully's! At the beginning I just booked a few days here, now I'm volunteering here for about month ;)

Friendly staff. Great bar where you will find it hard not to make new friends. You might even get the chance to meet Skully. Great guy with some amazing stories.

I *love* this spot. It's a locals favorite. It's also one of the few dog friendly spots in Bocas - so I bring my pup to run himself ragged with his friends. The spot is just spectacular and beautiful, a great place to pass a few hours. The hamburgers are next level. The pool is lovely. I just wish they'd hand me the aux from time to time - it's serious dad music, unless there's live music or a DJ in the evening.

Really cool bar with awesome atmosphere. Staff is super friendly. Access to pool, beach, many food options (different independent restaurants on site) and large bar area with events and themes (bingo night, karaoke, etc), pool tables and other games. Amazing spot that has it all!

It was a peasure staying here, it was very clean and comfortable, the location is great, far enough from the center to completely relax and right on the beach. The staff was also very nice and helpful, especially the lovely cleaning ladies and Pablo. We will be back definitely!

We booked for 3 nights here a month before our stay, set to arrive in the heat of the first quantum protests. We decided to cancel our trip. They provided a smooth refund for the trip, and we greatly appreciated the prompt communication during the booking and cancellation process. We look forward to rebooking in the near future - Dec 2, 2023

A not to be missed. More than a place to stay...it's a place to meet a community! Super fun. Great people. Awesome vibe. Steve, the owner, is very friendly and kind. Workouts in the morning are on the beach and a great way to get the day started!!!

Warning about the restaurant. For Breakfast, go elsewhere if you can! We stopped here while on a bike ride to a nearby beach. We ordered the french toast and a breakfast burrito from the restaurant. While we waited we enjoyed a strawberry smoothie from the bar. The smoothie was flavorful and generally good. We were able to sit at our table watching the waves roll in while we sipped away. Breakfast took usually long to prepare. We were surprised at this as it did not appear to be that busy. When I saw my french toast I was disappointed. I studied what I was given to find that what I had was apparently a Hamburger bun (there were sesame seeds on the back side). The toast was not dipped in egg, it was not even cooked. The only redeeming feature was that it had chocolate laced across the top. When I tried the dish I was I was appalled. I have included a photo to show what was not eaten. We ended up sharing the burrito, which was nothing to write home about but was at least passable.

We stayed at Skully's for 5 nights and loved every minute! We were in the Seaside room. It had a wonderful view of the ocean and very comfortable bed! Skully and his wife are so nice and very often walk around and visit with the customers. The bar tenders (I'm looking at you, Russell, Josue, and Nicole!) were so amazing to us! All of the food was SO GOOD! Definitely recommend steak night on Saturday and Sunday. Just remember coming here, this is not the Ritz.... it's a wonderful, clean, comfortable hostel/bar. If you are looking for some partying and some relaxing, this is the place to be! Thank you so much, Skully, for a fantastic stay!

very cool place. bigger than expected. Youngish crowd. Lots of daily activities. karaoke, etc. small wading pool, good snack bar. full bar. Very friendly. Eye candy! Kind of pricey, but its 20 feet from the water. worth the bumpy drive. paved road in process.

Location maybe not great if you want something in the town, but only $3 (per person) to go. For me the rooms were great, facilities really have everything and me and my partner could explore both sides of island from here for nature and beaches, so very happy. Saw howler monkeys and sloths on north west side. Food here is awesome - so much choice but chicken nachos were SO good!

My wife and I stayed in one of the rooms at Skully's with our 16 year old daughter and her friend and we all had a blast. With the hostel as part of the "resort", there was a nice mix of people in a chill environment that felt active but not crowded. Having the bar on property as the center of activity was fun without being out of hand. Saturday night karaoke gave everyone a chance to belt out a variety of songs from around the world. The food on site was actually pretty good and they took credit cards so it made it easier on my cash reserves. Being about 10 minute cab from Boca town had it's perks of feeling like a resort away from it all but still close enough to do the touristy stuff without too much trouble as cabs came by frequent enough. The room was clean and the AC worked well and it was quiet. Can't say enough good things about our stay

First trip to Bocas. Our AirBnB was across from Skully’s decided to try it for our first bite. Each of us got the burger: The Mexican and Border burger were both fantastic, best burger i’ve had in Panama. Owner Skully is a gem and treated all the patrons as they were his own kin. Definitely will be heading back

The Floating Bar is a two-story tropical paradise just a short water taxi ride away from Bocas Town. It offers various activities such as live music on Mondays, yoga sessions on Saturdays, and snorkeling in the surrounding mangrove islands. The bar hosts different events like Music Mondays with local bands and Taco Tuesdays with $6 for 2 tacos.
This is such a fun place to go for sure!! The owners are fantastic and Laura makes you feel beyond welcome! Drinks are great, made to taste the alcohol put in the drunks, unlike some places on the Island.

Great afternoon spent here. You know you are enjoying life, when you pull your boat up, after a morning sailing tropical islands, to a bar that floats in turquoise waters. A nice selection of cocktails and spirits. Also the 3 main Panamanian beers and some international ones. All cold and refreshing in the hot sun. It is a 2 story structure and the sheltered deck above offers a chance to chill and look at the surroundings or boats coming and going. You can jump into the water from the balcony, which is a rush, but they probably don't like that. Also, there are tubes and inflatable chairs you can float on in the open ocean with your drink. Nice Caribbean music and a friendly conscientious American barmaid when I was there. What a place! Make sure and stop by.

A two story floating piece of tropical heaven just a quick water taxi ride from BocasTown. I’m not sure where to even begin…. Live music on Mondays, yoga flow on Saturday mornings, the ceviche is the bomb and the tacos are even better. Ronnie (the resident mix-master) serves a mean ice cold beer and hand crafts the best ginger margarita I have had to date.. and probably ever will (other delicious flavors available as well) It’s not the first time I have been and certainly won’t be the last…. It will be a definite multi-stop deal every time I visit. Chad and Laura (the very cool owners) make sure to say hi to everyone and share some amazing stories. With reggae playing in the background, chatting to everyone from far and wide just kinda feels like family. Complimentary sunset shots are enjoyed by all while watching the last rays of the stellar sunsets slowly sink into the distance before taking off to enjoy the rest of the evening in town. Always ask about getting “thunderstruck” to top off a truly memorable evening. If you make it to Bocas you need to make it to “THE FLOATING BAR” Miss you already and can’t wait to see you soon…… #goodtimesforsure

We’ve had a great experience at The Floating Bar. We started off with an enjoyable yoga class with the best view I’ve had while practicing yoga. Then we spontaneously took a dive from the first floor and had an easy breakfast after. We ended with some snorkeling because they were so kind to borrow their set to us. We felt immediately welcome and at ease at The Floating Bar, really recommendable.

Great spot in Bocas del Toro. I was able to relax. Also, there is a variety of drinks and food. Don't forget to try the chicken tacos!

The Best fun and most relaxing place to socialize..I always have a blast. The most likely reason that it is the best place in Bocas would be the owners !!!!! Laura and Chad make it a little floating slice of heaven with a ton of fun...If you are looking for a great time with amazing people. It's the sweetest spot to go to while visiting the island.. From the moment you step foot on the dock you feel the positive vibe from everyone that is there. They have incredible fun friendly staff that make sure you enjoy each visit.

I absolutely love The Floating Bar. They make you feel like family from the moment you step on the deck. The service is great, the food is delicious & the drinks are strong. If you’re a Bocas Breeze Card holder, you can get 2 for 1 quesadillas any day. They also feature specials for everyone throughout the week so check their FB or Insta. I’ve been coming here for 2 years & we bring our guests on Monday for live music night. We LOVE IT & more important, our guests love it.

We had to make a stop at the Floating Bar during our trip to Bocas, as it was highly recommended. The drinks were very yummy and cheap during happy hour. It wasn’t super busy either which we liked. We got to enjoy the upper deck to ourselves and look out over the beautiful water below. Very fun experience!

Amazing yoga class! We enjoyed the vinyasa and afterwards the quite hour before more people came around 1pm. It’s a very chilly, familiar vibe. Delicious tacos (also vegan possible), very nice music (a lot of ‘00) and perfect for swimming and snorceling. We saw a lot of starfishes. Perfect place to chill out & enjoy the day! 🫶🏼

Super cool and fun bar floating right off the coast of Bocas. I only got a soda, but they serve alcohol and some typical bar food. The view is fantastic, and there's an upper level with lots of seating for it. All around, great concept that's done really well.

Great place to spend an afternoon. A water taxi can take you to this bar for about three dollars a person. The bar serves excellent tacos and quesadillas and offers a variety of drinks. Great way to escape the town for several hours. There is a competing floating bar btw. Choose wisely.

We loved our NYE sunset at the floating bar! Staff were so friendly and locals and fellow company was great. Drinks and food super reasonable price and yummy! I even left my towel there and the lovely staff kindly returned it to Bocas town for me the next day! Would 100% go back

Restaurant
Coco Fastronomy, located at Hotel Bocas del Toro on Calle 1, is known for being the exclusive home of the BAPE sandwich. This mouthwatering fried bread creation is filled with a variety of delicious fillings. The restaurant also boasts a beautiful back deck overlooking the water, providing a delightful dining experience. The BAPE sandwich itself resembles a focaccia bread with rich rosemary seasoning that adds to its delectable taste.
Really good bape sandwich/bread which in case you’re wondering reminded me most of a focaccia heavy on the rosemary seasoning, which by all accounts, is delicious!!! The sandwich was filled to the brim, the accras had a mochi like texture and the ribs - well after eating meat for a few days, was all I wanted to order and boy, did they satisfy the carnivore in me! A great, clean place to eat on the island by the water!! Sizeable portions, affordable, a must try lunch spot on the island! Be sure to try the bape bread!!

Luis is the high spot of Coco's service. Lunch or dinner, flavorful food dishes and happy hour cocktails. I really enjoyed sitting water side. Ate here every day for my 4 nights stay in Bocas Town

What came first, delicious food, or the Bape? Is it the bread, the filler, or the sauces. Easily the best sandwich I've ever eaten. Why aren't they world wide? What exactly is the bread? Its a long way fron Tennessee to Bocas. Can you ship a sandwich? Plus the view, the wait staff. The entire Experience was flawless. I ate there multiple times and it was always the same.

The cocktails were good value for money during happy hour (2 for 1). We also ordered 2 bape and a chicken asado bowl, unfortunately, the chicken was so dry in both dishes. Seasoning was also lacking. Efficient service but cannot recommend the food.

Pretty good. The patacones were fresh and hot!! They included this sweet and sour dipping sour that kicked up the flavor a notch too. I ordered their house dish the Baye and it's basically a little sandwich. I ordered the carribean one with fish. Do yourself a favor and ask for hot sauce. It's ok like fresh and healthy without it, but the flavor is next leveled with it! They also have wifi and ocean views. Enjoy!

10/10, I wish I had eaten here every single day in Bocas! Bapés for lunch, the gormet special for dinner, this is possibly the best food in all of Colón Island. Highly recommend!!

Food was fantastic. Way more food than we expected, yet it looked and tasted amazing. Great place right over the water in central Bocas Town. Worth a visit for sure!

The special bread (bapé) is awesome, like all the fillings. We had the Mama and the Caribeño with cooked fish in coconut milk. See the picture. Highly recommended and very friendly and professional staff! Many thanks.

The caipirinhas are delicious and a steal at happy hour. I enjoy pulpo. The puplo a la gallega is not what one gets in Galicia, still yummy. The pulpo asada is a whole animal which was touch too much for me. Still yummy. The service is very attentive and sitting on the deck is very relaxing. Highly recommend.

This restaurant is part of Hotel Bocas del Toro and owned by a French lady which explained quite a few French speaking visitors the various times I was there. As I was staying at the hotel, it made it very convenient for my breakfast, lunch & dinners. Breakfast was part of my hotel stay & included basic local bread, eggs to order & of course, great coffee & fresh juice. Lunch & dinner was when the restaurant truly shined - it's a gentle update to traditional island offerings. I enjoyed a selection of shrimps, octopus & fish through my various meals and each was fresh and delicious. The restaurant also offered two for one drink specials during a certain hour so be sure to check. The dining area had indoors (with ceiling fans), some shaded outdoor areas and some tables under umbrellas with a view of the waterfront. My favorite table was under the gazebo right on the water but do beware that the gazebo can fit two other tables & depending on your fellow diners, it can be a bit noisy. All in all, a lovely spot with delicious food & drinks.

Definitely the best food in all of Bocas and the prices are fair. Get the jerk chicken bape or bowl. It’ll blow your mind. The service is outstanding. We had the pleasure of meeting Luis and Maribel who both were so helpful and kind. They remembered us and greeted us as friends in a genuine way. The view is stunning. You will not be disappointed
