The Oomiwa-Jinja Shinto Shrine, dedicated to Mount Miwa, is an impressive location in Japan that offers many activities for visitors. It boasts breathtaking views of the mountain and features fanciful sculptures. The shrine houses the oldest path in Japan connecting shrines and cemeteries. Visitors can also drink God's water and witness the Hall of Fame of donors. The staff is friendly, and there is ample space to explore. The entrance road showcases a massive gate (torii).
Very quiet most of the time with not a lot of tourists. I was there on the first of the month in June so there was a lot of people switching out their cedar branches and offering eggs and sake. Incredible to see.

Lovely shrine for a quick stop. Nothing spectacularly unique but nevertheless a worthy stop.
Andre Matarazzo — Google review
At first time, I mess with mixed up this place with the previous shrine. This is the main one, many kind staffs, and wide space. Famous of the hall of fame of donators, and you can see the big gate (torii) on the in-out road.

Shrine in the forest. Reminds me a bit of Ise or Izumo shrine. Not bad at all. We met an old lady on the train there and thought she'd talk to us for the whole time but in the end she didn't so kind of doged a bullet there. Nice lady tho very welcoming. Life is all about these little moments and exchanges.

Peaceful and refreshing when you come to there. I bought some omamori and lucky things. Let come to have new experiences in Japan

This shrine is one of the most fantastic place in all japan. Because you can do many activities. For example, you can climb a mountain, you can drink the God's water, there is the most oldest path in japan which conect cementries, shrines and more. I fully recommend this place. It's spectacular!

Kegonji Temple is a stunning Buddhist complex nestled within the mountains. The gardens are meticulously maintained and boast beautiful cherry blossoms and fall foliage. It's a hidden gem which offers shrine stamps, providing visitors with a unique experience. The temple is surrounded by natural beauty, where cute lizards can be seen running around freely. This was a spur of the moment visit, and I am so glad I did. I visited during the colour change on the trees, and the road heading up to the shrine was beautiful with all the autumnal colours, and the sunlight highlighting the views. The shrine itself is also a beautiful sight to behold, with great surroundings. I highly recommend a visit as I believe you will not be disappointed.

(Translated by Google) I stopped by because I passed nearby. There were no people. Impressed by the very good atmosphere! Surrounded by greenery, it feels solemn ... wonderful! Glad you came! The red bridge seen from the parking lot was beautifully repainted. A new bell-striking hall was built in the precincts. The store wasn't open at all. I go to shoot autumn leaves every year. I went to 2021 around November 10th. It was beautiful, but it felt a little too late. The toilet in the back was not good. There was one Japanese style and one Western style toilet in the parking lot, which was not good.

As soon as I arrived at the parking lot, I saw the beautiful blue autumn leaves, the stone wall of the reception hall, and the vermilion bridge. I was fascinated by the moss-covered precincts as I slowly walked around the Sanmon gate, the three-story pagoda, and the main hall, and admired the Buddha statues in the Shariden and Ruriden halls, as well as the Sokushinjobutsu statue. I had a very meaningful time.

The building is designated as an important cultural property of the prefecture, and many of the Buddha statues are designated as important cultural properties of the country. There is a free parking lot in front of the gate. Normally, you can park with plenty of room, but there is a parking lot a little further away during the autumn leaves season. It is built on a mountain slope and there are quite a few ups and downs in the precincts, so comfortable shoes and clothes are recommended. Entry to the precincts is free, but an entrance fee of 500 yen is required for both the reliquary hall of the mummified Buddha and the Ruriden, where the important cultural Buddhist statues are displayed. (Translated by Google) It's the best temple in Japan! ️It really feels like a Buddha with a spectacular view of the mountains 🎵 Here you can see the mummy that all GIFU residents are familiar with. When you hear the word mummy, you may think ``Huh?'', but it shows the depth of your faith. Also, the autumn leaves 🍁 are spectacular in mid-November. It's a perfect spot for autumn leaves🍁🎵💖The scenery dyed in bright red is the best🎵There is also a parking lot🚙 and a toilet🚻. However, since it is deep in the mountains, there are no street lights. It might be better to avoid walking at night. The entrance fee to the Shari Hall is 500 yen per person. Everyone, please come and try it at least once. This is a recommended place 💓♥️❤️ (Original)

(Translated by Google) I visited while driving. The water is said to be good for the skin, so when I soaked in it, it felt somehow slippery, and when I got out of the water, my skin was smooth and smooth. Although it's not large, I was able to relax and soak in it, probably because it was empty. There is only a small tatami seating area, but there are plenty of sofas, so I think it's enough. The bathing fee is 440 yen if you show your JAF membership card, which is quite a value. (100 yen discount) There are restaurants at the roadside station and soba shops, but there are so many customers that the seats are full during meal times. If you shift the time slightly, you will have less waiting time. Since it is near the Tokuyama Dam, there is a museum attached to the roadside station about the Tokuyama area that sank under the dam, but I think it is worth a look as there are photographs and other exhibits that record the daily life of the village in the past. Masu. At the restaurant, I ate Namba-men, a ramen-like ramen made with chili peppers grown in the Tokuyama area that was submerged in the dam, and it was delicious. It wasn't spicy enough for me, so I added a side dish and it was delicious. They also have shiitake croquettes and dum curry, so I think it's worth coming even just for the food. I definitely want to visit again soon. Like other roadside stations, there were many souvenirs made with local ingredients.
