Absolutely worth the trip: the staff is very friendly, they make for an atmosphere of learning, and if you pay the extra visit you get a bit of history, a higher deck view and cellphone to hold for audio and view references in different languages. I wanted originally to go via stairs and then further up, but the stairs closed at 16:00. They offer you a photo and something to drink, which is a bit cumbersome among the small crowded place, but well intentioned. The views along explanations and general will and sentiment of the tower make the experience lovely in my opinion: many buildings were planned with the tower in mind, and the view is not as high as other observatories, but certainly clearer, which was a big advantage in my opinion. As I wanted to do the stairs I came back the next day, was disappointed I had to pay again the full ticket, and you only get a small card now right at the beginning. The open air is not fully open air, but understandable since there is no staff in between. I would’ve given a full 5 stars were it not for the fact that you have to pay the full price for stairs and especially if it’s not your first visit. Cafe staff much friendlier and I could keep the cup as mentioned on the menu. I would recommend more vegan choices and making it clear for those that left the cup in the tray. I would recommend the organizers to give a smaller price for stair choices. It will make people want to be healthy, and too tired to not buy drinks and food to replenish themselves after a sport act. It’s a win-win situation!

One of the most iconic landmarks in Tokyo (and Japan). This tower has over 60 years of history and has appeared in many media. It's easily accessible via Tokyo Metro and a few minutes of walk after that. You can come here during day or night and it is still a great place for photo. You'll have to pay to go up the deck, but if you're content with taking pictures outside, it's still a good experience. There are several hidden spots to taking a good photo of the tower. One of it is near the slope to the tower, but you'll have to queue for about 15~30 mins to get to your turn.

It is no longer the biggest building in Japan but I believe it is still one of the greatest landmarks which represents Tokyo! Even it is totally worthy to visit especially during Christmas season! Can enjoy Christmas market and yummy street food! Can feel Christmas vibe! Night view is awesome and beautiful!

The views are absolutely amazing! We went at sunset on a clear day and had spectacular views of Mount Fuji and the Tokyo skyline. We paid extra to go to the upper deck, which I would not do again. The views weren't any better and the wait time for the elevators was a bit much.

My hubby and I booked tickets on the day (same day tickets) and we were able to get a spot on the first Top Deck Tour of the day. There's a discount if you book in advance but booking on the day is still affordable for the experience. If you're okay with heights, I'd recommend the top deck tour as you get to go to the top observation deck and the views are phenomenal (plus, less crowded). Worth the money and if you opt to get the photo taken by the photographer, it's only 1500 yen which is reasonably priced. The gift shop has some great souvenirs and overall, I'd recommend for adults and kids alike.

Wow, what a great place to see all of Tokyo and it’s great for any occasion. A date night, teaching your kids about Tokyo or just to have a fun adventure. I recommend this as a Must see for everyone in Tokyo. Go all the way to the top at least once.

One of the best places you can visit in Tokyo. It is taller than the Eiffel tower, but weights less. It is hard to believe they built it by hand. There is a paying parking near by. It is even better if you can go during a day when they have Taiwanese festival behind the tower. Ki two birds with the same stone. Also, there is a possibility to take the stairs. You have the kiss can at the top when you get to the top.

We visited the Tokyo tower yesterday and it was amazing. The place is open for long so we went in around 9pm and avoided the rush. We only went to the main deck 150m above but you can also go into the upper deck 300m above the city. The views were fantastic and we were able to enjoy it better as the city lights come on fully in the night. The ticket were reasonable, we paid ¥1200 per person and the top deck costs ¥3000 per person. You can buy tickets at the venue without booking through 3rd parties.

Went to the main deck, beautiful views of Tokyo and a nice gift shop. On the lower main deck there's a cafe and some cool light fixtures. The top deck ticket seems expensive but is quite a bit higher up than the main deck, although the main deck is very nice itself. I recommend going at sunset to see both daytime and nighttime views, both are beautiful.

Tokyo Tower is a beautiful and large tower. You can get a great view from the main observation deck and pay a little more to go even higher up. The tower offers a 360 view of the Tokyo skyline. It is a must see when visiting Tokyo, Japan. The tower gets light-up at night and it's am extremely beautiful sight to see. Anyone going to Japan must visit this tower. Many good food options inside along with many, many great shops and stalls to get good souvenirs at.

It's not the highest building in Tokyo, but it is the most iconic. And the views are great, with some of the cleanest, least reflective windows of them all. Wonderful experience too. It felt like being taken back fifty years with all the service staff. Seemed like there was a guide every few meters helping you to the top.

I haven't had the chance to go inside Tokyo Tower. But the view outside is already astonishing! This is one of the oldest tourist attraction in Tokyo. There is quite an average walk to Tokyo Tower but the hill view is definitely worth it! There is also a parking lot stairs near the side of it that is great for taking pictures! This area also glows really nice at night! If you are planning to enter the tower, I recommend buying tickets in advance if possible.

Visiting the Tokyo Tower was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Tokyo. Go up and enjoy the view, try to go during the day then at night if possible. The first few floors has a food court that are easily accessible by stairs to the right upon entering.

A must go place in Tokyo! Awesome views of the Tokyo skyline and city. Also a historic landmark in Tokyo. Parking nearby available too. Not as busy as Tokyo Skytree which is nice. If it is your first time going I would go all the way to the top of the tower it is a very cool tour and great views you can get some really nice pictures of Tokyo.

On such a nice day, I had to get an aerial view of Tokyo. I went on a Sunday and while it was busy, it wasn't crowded busy. I queued for an adult ticket which cost me 1200 yen for an adult. You then are directed around to see some history and pictures of the tower before moving to the area for the elevator. There was an different line for those who paid 3000 yen for the upper deck tour. The elevator to the main deck was pretty fast so I didn't wait more than few minutes. Once up on the deck, I was able to move very freely around and take photos

I visited the Tokyo Tower In the morning and at night. I got to say going at night is a lot better then going in the morning. I took the top deck tour which includes main deck as well. Incredible 360 view from all decks. You will want to spend extra for the top deck tour! Tour includes a elevator stop at every deck and includes tea or lemon juice at one of the levels and throughout talks about the history of the tower. Such a great experience would recommend anyone visiting Tokyo! As I do not know the Japanese language they have an English version of the tour. It is cheaper if you get the tickets online only takes a minute at most. The top deck tour includes a free photo at the end which was a plus.

Very nice observation deck, the world famous Tokyo Tower. Overall, it's a nice attraction to visit while in Minato City. It's a great place to view the skyline of Tokyo due to its enormous height. It's also one of the many remarkable landmarks in all of Japan, mainly around the Tokyo Metropolitan Area. It has many shops inside and it also has a food court, overall I had a great visit there.

Tickets are 1200 yen for the 150 meter tall section and 2800 yen for the 250 meter tall section. I went for the 150 meter cheaper section and didn't feel like I was missing out by not going higher. The views are stunning and it is a very big observation deck so even when it's crowded there is still plenty of room to see the city.

One of the highly recommended places to go to, I found this place just alright. It is especially beautiful when illuminated so I recommend going at night time. On the ground there is a museum of the tower as well as various shops and eateries that reach up to five floors, so visitors could spend a good chunk of time here if they want. The observation deck itself is divided into the main deck (150m) and top deck (250m). Wasn't really a fan of being crammed into an elevator with a lot of people, but the staff were nice enough and gave a decent monologue on the way up. We only went to the main deck as we felt that the top deck prices were not worth it and had very long wait times when we arrived there. As for the main deck, it was a bit claustrophobic since there were so much people in a relatively small space which hindered my viewing experience. At the times that I could get a peak through the window, I found it quite beautiful but a bit lacking. The space again was an issue and some of the lights inside the main deck reflected on the viewing windows, making the viewing experience a bit ugly. Perhaps the Top Deck would have been a better experience, just be prepared to spend more time and money if you're going to do so.

Didn't get a chance to go up the tower since it closes at 10. Very pretty sight regardless, must visit when in Tokyo. The train stations are relatively far. About 12-15 minutes walk. Definitely worth it.

My experience at Tokyo Tower on October 13, 2023, was truly remarkable. The night view of the city from both the main deck and top deck was spectacular. The queue was relatively short, making the visit even more enjoyable. Opting for the combo ticket, which granted access to both decks, proved to be a great choice. The pricing was reasonable, offering excellent value for money. Additionally, the option to purchase photos as an add-on from both decks added a nice touch to the overall experience. Highly recommended!

Visiting Tokyo Tower was high on my list and didn't disappoint with the Top Deck Tour (¥3000 - Adult ticket). The queues were not too bad but lifts were VERY cramped. Staff do squeeze guests in like sardines. Good information and details were provided via the Audio Guides provided. Compared to the Tokyo SkyTree I would recommend to try that after this or instead of Tokyo Tower if you can only see and visit one due to the views and overall experience.

We took the Yurikomame line to go to see the Bridge and the supposedly fabulous night view of the city. No the city view isn’t available here right at the bridge. We only looked at the bridge from under it. That was all. Don’t bother and spend precious tourist time to travel all the way here.

Rainbow bridge was a thrilling experience in all. I visited it when the Olympics just wrapped up from Japan so I was able to see the five beautiful rings too. I waited a long time and many others too to watch the rainbow bridge light up in the night. I was not lucky to see the rainbow colour light it as it only happens on special occasions. That day the light combinations were red and white, which are listed on their website too. So you can easily check it out before making your plans if you want to see the rainbow colours.

One of the nicest and cheapest walks in all of Tokyo. I went around the bridge during the Olympics and the views and atmosphere were absolutely breathtaking. It takes about an hour and half to go from through both sides and best of all it's free. I highly recommend you check out this iconic engineering marvel on foot during the summertime, trust me you won't be disappointed.

A beautiful suspension bridge connecting Odaiba to the rest of Tokyo. The views from the monorail journey to or from Odaiba which crosses the bridge is an attraction itself and should definately be experienced for the great views it provides. Train lovers rejoice!

Beautiful temple to visit. I highly recommend it. It a huge temple, I didn’t get to explore all of it, but I saw what I wanted. Please make sure that you are respectful, ask for permission if you feel unsure about something. The monks are friendly if you see them walking around. But please ask for their permission before taking a picture. If they’re in the middle of a prayer definitely do not interrupt or interfere. Sad that I have to say that but you do have individual that really just don’t care. The gift shop is amazing. Fun little gift at reasonable prices that you can get in bulk as friends and family.

The Most pleasant surprise from my very first trip to Japan. A friend recommended this Buddhism temple for its location (next to Tokyo tower), ancient history and the garden full of stone baby sculptures from families whose prayers for descendant got fulfilled. And as luck would have it, we witnessed the 850th anniversary of its founding day, with a huge celebration of monks and believers from all over the country. The proceedings was as culturally traditional as it gets, and all audiences were awed and can’t believe the perseverance of its heritage since that long ago. I am going back to that country soon.

Historical place and major shrine in Japan located near to Tokyo tower and Hamamatsucho station. Interesting place and nice to see the Japanese architecture style shrine. Shrine is well maintained and very peaceful and good to visit this temple for tourists

There are probably a ton of reviews about this place, but I just have to say this place was the first major temple I visited during my trip to Tokyo and it didn't disappoint. I think it might get crowded during peak season and timings, but I visited around 10am and the crowd was relatively okay. I got off from Daimon Station which is on the Oedo line, and had to walk about 10 mins to the temple. It was morning so it wasn't that hot yet so it was a pleasant walk. You definitely won't miss the temple - there will be a towering brown gate that will greet you from a mile away. One famous feature of the temple is the fact that you can see both the main temple hall and the Tokyo tower in the same frame. Take the time to look around as well - there is an interesting section dedicated to honouring children (they do explain what that is). Overall, it will take about an hour if you take your time to properly explore your surroundings. Definitely recommended if it's your first time in Tokyo!

A beautiful temple with the distinctive feature of having Tokyo Tower standing tall behind the main hall. For American tourists like myself, the temple also contains two trees of note, one being planted by President Ulysses S. Grant in 1879, and the other by President George H. W. Bush in 1982. Inside the main hall, the atmosphere was very serene, with several rows of chairs set up in front of the main display should you wish to sit. I certainly recommend visiting if you're able!

A very large buddha temple and the area is very wide. There are many beautiful parks around it. The scenery is very beautiful especially with the Tokyo Tower, this temple becomes even more beautiful. In autumn many trees turn red. So pretty. The very large gate that is on the side of the main road is also very interesting.

A temple that has gone through decades and eras, yet still remain well reserved. The surrounding, the trees, the entire landscape, tranquility is the word to accurately describe Zolo-ji Temple. Thanks to the customer service officer from the Japan tourism board, I managed to hop on Tokyo Monorail and wrapped up my tour at Zolo-ji Temple in such a meaningful & peaceful manner. Highly recommend to tourists who have hours to kill before catching the returning flight. May peace be with you as well!

One of the best place for getting good shot of Tokyo tower. It is consider quite inaccessible by using public transport, 10-15 minutes walk from subway station, that makes it relatively quiet in Tokyo city.

This is a very pretty temple located in Shiba Koen. The surrounding park is well worth a stroll as it has many smaller areas where you can find a little privacy. The temple has prayer sessions thare public (no photography allowed), and behind it is a graveyard which you can visit at a small fee. Under the main building is an exhibit which is part of the Japanese national heritage exhibit, on display at various museums. The Tokyo Tower is a nice backdrop and contrast to the temple. An additional plus is that Shiba Koen isn’t much of a tourist spot, which is nice. In the park itself people enjoy Sakura parties during the March-April timeframe.

This was the first temple we visited during New Year's day. The place has a lot of interesting things to see such as a short program of a monkey doing tricks as well as food stalls that were located at the side of the area. The area was crowded but it is to be expected but one can still go to the temple proper without any line.The Tokyo tower can also be seen from behind.

Very beautiful temple. I went early in the morning around 9 am, and there weren't many people. There was service going on in the temple, and I was able to watch everything thru the open doors on the side of the temple. Watching them perform their ceremony was quite peaceful and beautiful, one of the best experiences I had in Tokyo.

I would say my fav template in Tokyo and surprised why it’s not very crowded. The temple, its garden and the backdrop of Tokyo tower it’s so beautiful and a great place to take some amazing pictures. The park has a coffeeshop inside and a short walk to Tokyo tower. Definitely visit this temple if you are in the area.

Lovely temple that can be visited when going to Tokyo tower. Unusually photographs can be taken inside the main hall. In the grounds are small statues dedicated to babies & children who sadly died.

Roppongi Hills Mori Tower is a one-of-its-kind skyscraper shaped building, located in Roppongi of the Minato Ward. It boasts with a lot of quality restaurants which kist scream “posh, elegant and high class”. The most notable parts of Mori Tower are - Starbucks(not just 1, but 2), McDonalds, Lego Store, Observatory, Art Gallery, Pizza restaurants, bars, Salad store, etc. It also has TV Asahi Office just at the entrance. Last but not the least, it is near the street of illumination, and has pretty good views of Tokyo Tower.

While almost anyone is very fond of high towers and the view they offer, unfortunately (for me maybe), I'm not at all impressed. What you see is a lot of concrete, although Tokyo is much greener than one would think and the city has some good architecture, but almost no real urban planning. Óh yeah, and the tower has an "exclusive" club with fine restaurants, but the city is full of those as well...

One of the best office area of Tokyo. All facilities are available, you just name it. So many awesome restaurants. Mori Stephen Tower itself is great piece of architecture. Highly recommended the visit. Parking also available but quite expensive.

A must visit for a better price than the Tokyo Skytree and Tokyo Tower. Come during golden hour to catch an amazing sunset of Mt. Fuji and the sun. If you stay 30 minutes after sunset you can get an awesome view of the city all lit up

One of the best attraction sites in Tokyo. Can enjoy the various exhibitions offered in the building, special restaurants, the great view of Tokyo city from the top floor. There are some good brands shops. In term of prices, shopping here is expensive comparing to other areas around Tokyo. There is also special Christmas festival.

Amazing spot to take photos of the Tokyo skyline. Sunset was amazing. It's a little bit complicated - you need to buy a ticket to the art gallery and then, from there, you can buy a ticket to the rooftop viewing platform. Well worth it. The art gallery was quite interesting too even though that wasn't my reason for visiting.

The underrated City view tower in Tokyo. The view is overwhelming that you could view the city 360 degree with Tokyo Tower and Skytree. When I was there, there is a architect gallery which is somehow unique and unexpected. Below is a shopping malls in tokyo, among all I love the mall here, artistic and relaxing feel.

Modern and stylish place to visit 😎 The Christmas market during Dec is held here in the Oyane plaza, very festive although it’s a bit difficult to stay long as the big crowd could be a bit too much x)

It was Lee Ufan's exhibition that's showing when I visited. This place is just amazing. If you're an Arts fan, this place is a must to visit. There will be several halls that have different exhibitions, so you may just pay which exhibition that you would like to visit. Besides, the architectural designs of this building is amazing too. I totally enjoyed my time here.

It's not really air conditioned so it's easy to feel warm and thirsty. It's free but most of what's being displayed requires admission of some kind around $5 per person. Not expensive but most of it isn't free. What I saw definitely interesting and I took a lot of pictures and translated a lot of the captions

This museum is amazing place such as architecture glass wall for exterior and for my surprised that is the umbrella stand you can see object like a flying saucer in front the museum is so great! . We're already looking forward to our next visit. For anyone interested in design, fashion, or art, The National Art Center Tokyo, especially with its special exhibits like the Saint Laurent one, is a fantastic destination. It's not just a museum; it's a space that truly celebrates creativity and innovation.

We visited on a Sunday morning, and everything looked good, but not enough indoor lighting, so the ambiance was not sufficient for Instagram. I got the premium coffee in the level 1 cafe. However, for the price they're charging here, I would instead go for a drip coffee in a Starbucks. We drank our coffee on the outside terrace. This is the highlight of our stay since its relaxing nature feels in this area. Overall, all good here.

Great art centre where various exhibitions can be visited. The architecture of the place is already worth the visit. Staff is very friendly, there are some options to have a snack/lunch/drink and the gift shop also has some nice items. All in all I would recommend to go here! The Museum was jointly designed by Kisho Kurokawa and Nihon Sekkei, Inc. It comprises of 12 exhibition rooms, an auditorium, 3 cafes, museum shop ,art library and a restaurant. It's one of the biggest museums in the country.

The building is indeed stunning! And the access is also so simple through the connected train station. I had no problems buying my tickets online (which I strongly recommend, because lines can be huge!), still I had to wait a while to get inside, even with the tickets ready. I specifically attended to the light exhibition through Tate Modern’s archive if I’m not mistaken. The exhibition was sure very well curated, but almost every artwork had great amounts of people in front of it and it was hard to go through everything and enjoy the experience. There were many pieces I couldn’t take a close look, because of the congestion. Also, I got quite interested in a few items at the store, but the paying lines were so awfully long I didn’t even considered buying. My big suggestion is: go in a non-busy weekday if you can. Other than the listed problems, the gallery is amazing and really worth going if you’re in Tokyo. There are many “smaller” less crowded exhibitions happening in the Art Center and I had a great time strolling through them as well.

First time visiting in Tokyo and I was seriously impressed with this place! It’s massive inside, well organized and the Yves Saint Laurent exhibition they have on right now was spectacular! A must have for anyone interested in couture fashion. The gift shop at the end of the exhibit was okay, wish it had more exclusive items for Japan. Only the book was exclusive.

Visited here for the first time and enjoyed the Matisse exhibition. It was a bit on the pricier side (2,200 yen) but it was quite beautiful. The building in and of itself is a work of art that I truly enjoyed seeing. Great place to get cool pictures of the architecture.

Went to see the special exhibition of Damien Hirst. The building has an amazing design (including somewhere that was included in ‘Your name’ movie), and the exhibition itself was greatly put into place. Probably going again before it’s over.

3 floors of Japanese art exhibits. Free admission and super friendly and helpful staff makes the visit here extremely inviting and pleasant. Lots of Japanese calligraphy and historical paintings, landscapes and other rural scenery depictions. I had hoped to see more sculpture and 3D art, but this is mostly 2D paintings and a lot of historical calligraphy. I spent about 2 to 3 hours here and didn't see everything. I'm not a huge art connoisseur, but I still felt fascinated by the exhibits and if I had more time I likely would have stayed longer and appreciated the visit more. I would go back next time I'm visiting Tokyo.

Beautiful art center! Ofcourse it was busy because of the Kimi No Wa scene. But the exhibits are beautiful - specifically the calligraphy art by high school students. very beautifully done! I wish we got to try to cafe but the line was super long. Also, there is no AC in the common areas. It’ll be hot so bring some water!

It’s free to enter the building but you have to pay to see any exhibit. Most of them seem to be around ¥700, and the one I’ve been too was absolutely worth it. Would definitely come back to see more. The cafe and the restaurant are very stylish too 😎

This art center has got to be one of my favorite places to visit while in Tokyo. There are 3 floors showcasing paintings, photography and sculptures all by Japanese artists. It cost 1000 yen for the regular exhibits and 2200 yen for the "Light" exhibit from the Tate museum, which I found was the least impressive. There are coffeeshops\restaurants on each floor with different menus. Highly recommended to spend a few hours exploring the different art works.

I loved this place. During my visit they had a huge Exhibition of the different art shools from Tokyo.and that was very inspiring. I am sure that the Museum will have great Shows at other times too, because its huge and very well known.

What an exhibition space! A visitor's experience will depend on what rotating curation they view, but the venue itself is incredible. The inverted cones for two of the four (!) total restaurants are visually impressive. I especially appreciated the companion smaller cone serving as the gift shop desk. Notable for my experience, they have the biggest umbrella storage space I've ever seen. Seems silly, but quite memorable.

We visited an interesting exhibit examining remote work and the impacts the pandemic has had on our lives. The building is lovely. Highly recommend a visit as the curation is awesome! They also provide umbrella parking.

I enjoyed every exhibition. Some were free and some had a fee but it was just around 500-700 yen. You can also take pictures inside so it was quite nice. The cafes inside have relaxing vibes, perfect for a quick catch up!

Beautiful architecture and a very well curated museum. I saw the “Henri Matisse - Forms in Freedom” exhibit. It was impressive to see all the 150 showpieces from the collections from Musée D’Orsay, Musée Matisse Nice and the large Flowers and Fruits Cut Out, now restored.

Mori Art Museum has come up with a new theme which includes something about effects of tsunami and nuclear power plant explosion and so on. I came to this art museum in 2019. During that time there was an exhibition of contemporary art. Most of it is an installation art or a conceptual design work from students participating in the exhibition. I am impressed with this place due to its excellent arrangement, even on a crowded day, I can still access the exhibition easily. It has a perspective by overlooking the city of Tokyo and also offers a full range of coffee and beverages. which is suitable for relaxing and spending time with family on vacation. Although the museum is located on the top floor of the building (over 50 floors) it is not a problem to access, but it makes for a better atmosphere to walk through these tall buildings.

Nice museum in the middle of busy Tokyo and a great way to spend an hour or two. No photos are allowed in the exhibitions. The grounds are beautiful. The cafe was nice to stop at for a short break. We did have to wait for about 20 min to be seated. The view was beautiful, looking out into the gardens. I would recommend if you are interested in East Asian art and artifacts and even if you’re not. The collections are stunning. They also have a nice gift shop inside.

A strange experience, with opposing vibes that really threw me off. The museum is described as a beautiful building with a lovely and well kept Japanese style garden. And although this is true, the buildings ultra modern and sleek design really doesn't mesh well with the more natural look of the wilding garden outside. The juxtapositions carry on inside. The reception staff were kind and welcoming, but the staff on the floor (the attendants within the exhibits) were quite cold and indifferent, acting more like strict teachers or librarians. Despite the museum being fairly busy, and thus considerable noise from people simply moving around or talking in the concourse area, next to absolute silence was being actively enforced in the galleries. It felt very arbitrary given that it still wasn't quiet due to the hubbub outside. The way in which the patrons treated the exhibits was one of high regard and particular 'snootiness', whereas (at least in the English sections), the descriptions of the galleries and each item on display was one that invited questions and conversation, to discuss and understand WHY these pieces were important. Maybe I was expecting something it never was, but it was a strange experience overall. I enjoyed learning some history about a particular part of Japanese (and east Asian) culture, but didn't get on with the more snobby vibe it gave off unlike many museums in Japan. If you're particularly interested in the exhibits specifically, then do visit. Otherwise, there are far better, more accessible, cheaper, and more welcoming museums throughout Tokyo worth your time.

Beautifully designed museum with traditional garden. When walking through the garden, make sure you don't mss the Suikinkutsu (水琴窟), a water harp created by using the sound of water droplets falling into small pots/basins in the ground. You have to be very still to hear it and it has a very magical quality.

I went there not for any particular art exhibition, but to appreciate the modern architecture of the building and the Japanese garden at the back of the museum. The famous Japanese style eave and bamboos along the entrance walkway requires no special mentioning. But Man! I was completely slept away and fall in love with the garden! It was a raining Spring day, the highly saturated green of the lush new grows contracting against red maples are just breathtaking, words cannot describe… Went to the cafe afterwards, an unique and meditative experience sitting within a super modern architecture surrounded by lush transitional Japanese garden.

Beautiful museum and peaceful outdoor garden. In early December the leaves were still vibrant and there were some dressed in kimonos for photos outdoors. The museum itself had many exhibits, one including Five Horses. Oh baby the 5 horses were something special. There wasn’t just 1 or 2, there were FIVE! 🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴. But you only get 3 minutes for viewing! That’s an average viewing speed of 1.67 horses per minute! Recommended to book tickets online to avoid lining up at the door for entry, otherwise be prepared to wait.

Handsome small museum with a nice assortment of traditional Asian art. I got the impression that the items on display rotate, but I've only been there once so I'm not sure. Most items have excellent English translations. The museum is beautiful, but the garden is exquisite and should not be missed. One of the best I've seen in Japan and excellent for viewing autumn foliage. Also has a great gift shop! I'd say plan for 1.5 to 2 hours. Makes for a great morning.

Nezu has a nice pathway lead to its entrance, bamboos on the side and cobblestones on the ground. I also enjoyed the stroll in its peaceful and zen garden. Although there weren’t too many colors in winter, it was still nice with a clear blue sky.

A nice mix of an art museum with a great garden, including several tea houses. Found right at the end of the main street near Harajuku the Nezu Museum has a great collection of beautiful screens and pottery. Once you've finished reading and viewing all the indoor art/pottery walk outside and tour around the excellent garden. On of the few gardens inside Tokyo with quite the elevation component that adds to the enjoyment. The water design is also really quality.

Overall the collection is great. I like it. When I visited in 11.2023, the display was about Northern Song calligraphy. I’m not too familiar with calligraphy but I do know from my basic education that Song was an age of 文治- peaceful governing should I say?- and their culture was rich. The only complaint I can think of is that even if you know 漢字 a lot of the stuff is in草書(cursive) so it’s not likely that an untrained moderner can read much except the drawings. Unfortunately this is a private collection so they are sort of neurotic about protecting it… they will immediately complain if you even take out your phone. Kind of distracting and the price is rather high (¥2000) as well. If you’re an art student or enthusiast sure, it’s definitely worth it but if you’re a random tourist, I don’t know…3~3.5 stars out of 5 sounds about right to me. I’m not trained in art whatsoever so take my opinion with a huge grain of salt though. PS: I think the curator or the board of directors are kind of obsessed with the two headed sheep, saying it’s humorous and kind of using it as the mascot. Not sure… maybe my common sense stinks but I sort of thought it looked scary 😨

This place is worth visiting, even without seeing the exhibitions! While the exhibitions on Korean ceramics was interesting and had a lot of great pieces, the real star of the show is the architecture of the building (by Kengo Kuma) and the gardens!! These were the most incredible gardens I saw in Tokyo, and potentially even Japan. They were so vast which was so surprising, and so stunning and beautifully maintained.

Outstanding little museum in Tokyo. Best for a chill, non-crowded afternoon. Includes a stroll in a dense and very beautiful Japanese garden. Plenty of photo ops here. If it rains they provide umbrellas for free. Great for elderly visitors as well. The artwork inside and the educational bits will keep you entertained and interested.

It’s okay. But the museum policy is absolutely draconian. It’s like don’t even think about even taking out your phone. The display was about calligraphy of Sou (宋) so it was interesting but the restrictions are way too strict. They have a small ‘perpetual display’ that you can photograph and a very nice garden too though. But for the museum alone I’m loathe to give more than 2/5. It’s also the farthest from Roppongi station so not super convenient to visit by public transport.

Went on a rainy night! A great view of the rainbow bridge plus the replica Statue of Liberty!!! Fun adventure and great walk to go across the rainbow bridge afterwards. Would recommend a visit!! This is different from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo feel.

It was a Timely moment for me to catch the sunset at Tokyo Waterfront City and what makes this experience even memorable was witnessing the sunset together with a group of visitors, all of whom having their smartphones or cameras ready too. There were a few Loving couples seen requesting passer-by to help them encapsulating this sunset moments by the Tokyo Bay as well. While the Kids were happily chasing around and not able to appreciate the sunset just as the adults do.

Well kept Statue of Liberty which was a gift from France. the statue overlooks the bay area and there are several areas nearby to take good photos. The statue is surrounded by cherry trees and would be a good place to visit during cherry blossom season

Not worth coming for just this but fortunately everything you look at in this area is worth taking a picture. Gorgeous area, keep walking for the giant Gandum robot, cityscape, tulip gardens and massive shopping mall with huge selection of food and treats in the food court.

As a New Yorker it was interesting to see the Statue of Liberty in Tokyo. The background really reminds me of New York as well. Highly recommend the scenery in the surrounding area is also beautiful

This is the very nice place to visit and memorable picture spot in Tokyo Bay. The bonus is that there are 2 shopping malls ( DiverCity and Aqua city ) nearby, a life size Robot Gundam - very impressive huge Robot infront of DiverCity shopping centre. They all are in walking distance around 10 Minutes. In DiverCity shopping centre - they have plenty of souvenirs shops ( Doraemon gift shop , hello kitty, Winnie the Pooh and Ghobli shops and many other fashions shops). If you reach around late afternoon, you can see the sunset view as well as night view with Rainbow bridge on the background. Don’t forget to bring the phone/ camera for super shot.😊📷📱

Come in the morning. The weather is good for a walk. The jogging track along the water is quiet. Near the statue, however, is very touristy. Go up to the promenade for a better shoot of the statue

Was surprised to find it here, but pretty nice view with the Rainbow Bridge in sight. At night you will be able to see the Tokyo Tower as well.

The architectural form of freedom and democracy, can be seen in tokyo bay, odaiba. Statue stands besides the bridge. Rainbow bridge gives the statue a wow background. The atmosphere was great to enjoy and of couse for photo sessions.

A fantastic spot to enjoy the view and catch a glimpse of the small-scale Statue of Liberty, reminiscent of New York. Definitely a must-visit location!

The architecture outside was something to behold. The view from the observatory and the observatory itself was a bit underwhelming. I did go at noon, however, so the night view might have been better.

Majestic building structure of Fuji TV. You can go up by elevator to witness Odaiba bay from above or just sight seeing of its phenomenal architecture from below.

I was surprised to see an old tv company presenting so much popular elements from different manga and tv shows. It is a good choice when you have time to enjoy childhood nostalgia.

Beautiful architecture building from outside. Although mostly this building is an office/studio, there are some free&paid open spaces. Definately recommend if you like any of the FUji TV program. On the 5th floor they have some exhibition that always changes depending on the event/schedule. The view on the top is not bad and there is a free wifi up there.

Futuristic blocks of buildings interconnected via bridges. Didnt go inside. Unmissable when riding a train on Yurikamome line

It was a nice experience to see this building. It is huge and interesting architecture. If you are nearby you can see it quickly and then nearby is a nice park that has a beautiful water view of the city.

Didn't manage to go in, but the view from outside is also very nice. Very interesting design with a dome in the center of the building. This is also the place where one of the fight scenes in an episode of Digimon Adventures took place.

Have not been inside, however seeing it from the outside only gave me much excitement. With all of the history of this building, the unique architecture and how you would be of very familiar to it by seeing it in all of those Japanese movies/TV shows, you surely would appreciate the building. At night the building would have animated light shows -which I didn't know about- and it's going to end your day more fulfilling.

Pretty nice views from the dome shaped observatory and only 700 yen. Other than that, looking at this building from the outside is the most interesting.

Nice peaceful temple to visit. The temple itself is quite beautiful however if you have already seen a few temples in Japan then it may not be a stand out location. That said, the story behind this temple (the 47 Ronin) and the gravestones next to the temple is the what makes it an interesting place to visit. The temple also have a small museum at cost which you can visit to see some more history. Lastly I recommend to read the of the story of the 47 Ronin first before visiting, so the visit here has some more significance.

This Sōtō buddhist temple, founded in 1612 by the first shogun, Tokugawa Ieyasu, is famous as the final resting place of Asano Naganori and his ronin (aka the 47 ronin). I first want to clarify a bit of misinformation. According to the Japanese version of the Sengakuji website, only 46 of the 47 ronin committed seppuku. The 47th ronin, Terasaka Kichiemon, was pardoned and lived until he was 83 years old. Also, even though there are stone markers for all 47 ronin, only 45 are actual graves. Hazama Shinroku’s body was retrieved by his family but a memorial stone marker for him was placed at the same time as the others. Terasaka was interred at Sōkeiji Temple in Minamiazabu, just north of Sengakuji (grave not open to the public). His memorial marker at Sengakuji was not added until 1868. Today, the temple is nestled among office buildings and hotels and shares an entrance with a local middle/high school. To view the ronin’s tombs, the temple requests that you purchase burning incense sticks to place in front of the tombs for 300 yen (~$2). If you come to visit, I would highly recommend reading the story of the 47 ronin, so you understand the significance of the location. Otherwise, it’s just a bunch of tombs lined up next to each other. The tomb of Ōishi Chikara was especially poignant for me as he was only 16 when he died. There’s also a small museum (500 yen or ~$3.50) displaying some of the belongings of the ronin and wooden statues of the ronin.

The true origin of Japanese nobility, the temple is not so large but the story of 47 Ronin that happens here gives greater meanings to the visitors.

This is a definite place to visit if you want to know about Japanese history and are interested in samurais. I've always liked the tale of the 47 Ronin so when I first went to Japan I had to visit here and pay my respects. When I went again to Japan this year I decided to go back again. It still gets a bit emotional if you know the story but this isn't just a fable or story, this actually happened (read up on it and make sure to see the well).I won't go into the whole story but if you decide to visit then please read up on it and you'll understand why this place is so special. They have a monk who sells incense to leave at each grave, you don't have to buy it but it pays towards the upkeep (I hope). The entrance is on a bit of a side street but if you've got Google maps or a real map you'll find it, some nice tourist shops on the approach to the place with friendly knowledgeable staff.

Beautiful temple known for the 47 ronin legend. Very friendly staff, with vadi English ability too. The temple itself is free, the graveside is 300¥/ person, but you get insence sticks to put on the graves. Very nice and peaceful, with beautiful gate and lots of greenery.

Kind of crazy how very few tourists come here despite its cultural significance. I especially enjoyed my visit here because one of the workers here gave me a private tour explaining in detail each of the ronin's role and significance during the Ako Vendetta as Iaid an incense on each of the 47 ronin's gravestone. I was deeply moved and learned a lot; especially because the worker herself had so much passion for this story. Definitely one of the highlights of my trip.

A piece of Japan history! For those that have seen the movie Ronin, all 47 former Samurai have their graves here. So worth a visit.

As a history buff, Buddhist Atheist and admirer of the exploits of the Akoroshi, Sengaku-ji is an ultimate fulfillment for me. The temple is very solemn and great for reflection. You can lay incense on the graves of the 47 Ronin as well as Lord Asano's family at a cheap price. I left with a renewed sense of purpose and inspiration.

Quiet temple in downtown Tokyo that houses the graves of the 47 ronins, who avenged their master and then laying down their lives for loyalty and honor. 300 yen to pick up a bunch of incense to enter the graves and pay respects. Be sure to pick up some cool souvenirs from the shops outside the temple like cool post cards or playing cards with the designs of the 47 ronins.

I’m happy we went here to learn about the history and honor the samurai from the story. If you know the background of these graves, it will elevate the experience.

Amazing place that is not very well known or visited, even by the locals. I recommend you pay the 500yen and visit the museum, see the wooden statues of the 47 Ronin & then vsist the graveyard. If you happen to see Mika, she's a great storyteller & loves to tell you about all the characters. Well worth the extra 300yen.

Amazing to visit and pay homage to the 47 Ronin. This was a highlight for my wife and I in Tokyo. Very serene space. 500 yen for the museum which was just ok but I wanted to experience everything. Easy to get to, and good food in the area. Hit the souvenir shop right away if you see they are open. They close at random times.

It is a very nice garden you can enter for free with a beautiful light up after sunset which seems extremely popular with couples. I had the chance to chat with some of the wedding staff there who were very professional and helpful. Thank you for providing such a nice location

A beautiful Japanese style garden with only very few tourists. Can easily spend an hour in there walking around and taking pictures. Highly recommended.

Such an incredible oasis of peace and nature in the middle of the very busy area of Minato-ku. There are often marriages that take place there so you get to see some amazing traditional dresses and ceremonial display while enjoying the relaxing surroundings. The entrance is free and you can go inside the Sheraton Miyako hotel straight from the inside of the parc to enjoy some coffee with a gorgeous view

Beautiful, but half the garden was roped off for private events and photographers kept pushing us away from momiji spots. I understand their priorities, of course, but it did interrupted our enjoyment of the autumn colours five times. Maples are very this year, so maybe I can come back in a week or two and hopefully see the beautiful trees.

Beautiful and fantastic garden - during Tokyo Red Garden period, we had an opportunity to visit the beautiful garden at night. It’s very beautiful during the day and with fantastic bonsai but at night, it brought the mysterious and vivid lightening in the garden. It was very beautiful.

It's a very well hidden garden in Tokyo, beautiful, you can have a lunch or some meal there or check out the beautiful ancient bonzai trees and carps.

A beautiful venue for wedding and functions. Visited here for lunch for the first time in a couple of decades, last time was when my school graduation party had been held. The beautiful garden is incredible scale as a function venue in the middle of Minato city and worth a stroll.

Amazing little garden. The attention to details is awesome. A very nice display or bonsai trees and a cool pond with koi fish. Nice little waterfalls and little statues and corners to sit. If only the tea house was open during my visit it would have been a perfect experience. Nonetheless a perfect score for the way this place is set and kept.
