Excellent day trip. Not for the timid. Swim shoes recommended. Many sharp rocks. Very beautiful water, rock formations, Roman ruins. Perfect for snorkeling. Nice trails for hiking. Warm water. Incredible scenery and views. No facilities. Walk with care. Not suitable for children. Highly recommended. Access by bus, taxi, or 35 minutes walk from downtown Sorrento.

Hi! It is a superb location, the water is of a rare clarity. It's worth visiting, make sure you have drinking water with you. Don't expect sand, there are only stones, but you can sunbathe on the stones. If you know how to swim, you can get out of the lagoon, swim as long and as far as you want, it's worth it... the water is so salty that it keeps you on the surface without making any effort Have a nice vacation!

A beautiful hidden gem in Sorrento. We walked about 45 minutes from the town and although it was all up hill, it was worth the trek! The water is freezing in early April but soothing on your feet and legs if you've been doing a lot of walking during your travels to Italy.

Quite nice, though there isn't much room for sitting. Long but nice wall from the road to the beach, though be aware that sometimes people with scooters go down the same path. We came from Sorrento to the beach by bus (can purchase at the train station or any tobacco store, 1,5 euros each way), would recommend instead of walking because you will be walking with the cars and buses, so not very safe

We were in Sorrento for all of 20 hours, and this was our main bucket list item. The walk along the coast from the main part of town was absolutely stunning. We happened to be taking this trip on a Friday, and when we arrived at the main cove (the most popular spot) around 10:45 AM, it was absolutely packed. We managed to stash our bags and take a quick dip. We then walked around the cove and found some better spots to sit in the sun, right on the cliffs looking back at Sorrento proper. We continued along the walking path to the other side of the cliffs, where you can see the ruins of the old villa, with far more room for swimming and sunbathing right on the cliffs. We had a much more enjoyable time on this side of the cove. Overall, the hike to this area is absolutely stunning, and is well worth a visit. If you want to swim in the cove itself, i'd recommend getting there early, then spending more of your time on the other side. Wearing water shoes would be beneficial as well. But this is a must-see spot, highly recommend.

Quite long hike from Sorrento, but definitely worth the effort. Very beautiful place with interesting history. Recommended wearing good shoes as it is rocky and slippery. You can take a bath after going down the stairs, but there’s not much place to sit and hang around out there. Swim under the arch and you can see an emerald green water sparking in the sun, very beautiful!

Beautiful ruins on the coastline that offers expansive views of Sorrento and Naples. Lots of people cliff jumping above the tunnel. I recommend taking a taxi or bus to the location and then walking back downhill to Sorrento. It's a 45 minute walk to Sorrento but note there is no sidewalk for about 10-15 minutes of the walk.

Cute spot to explore. Google maps says you can drive halfway in, but not possible. Do have to park and walk down. The spot is hidden away but not too hard to find. We went early around 9am and there was only around 10 people there. While walking back up, so much more crowded. If you want the place to yourself, go early.

One of the best places to visit around the peninsula. Although it takes around 10 minutes to reach the beach, the beach context is simply amazing with the view to the Vesuvius volcano. There is a parking spot close to the beach with fixed tax of 10euro (5 hours) or 20euro (whole day).

Amazing cove with cliff jumping spots! Probably the highlight of our visit to Sorrento, a trek down to the beach/cove but worth it. The 5060?/5070 bus takes you back to Sorrento for €1.90 The cliff jumping spots are really fun, around 5/7 meters at different spots with deep water below. Lots of people are here so you can look at others before you get the courage to dive in yourself! After you can head down to the cove where it’s an extremely busy and picturesque location where you can swim A MUST for your visit to sorrento

It is an unique place. There is a hole that full with water in archeological area. It is possible to swim there. It has connection to sea. There is an old site on rocks. It is the best place i liked in Sorrento

Fun place to swim and sunbathe! It can get relatively crowded on a hot day— mostly teenagers and young adults. Only negatives other than the minimal crowds is the graffiti on the walls and people leaving cigarette ends on the ground. Wish people would help keep this place pretty

Amazing short hike to see dramatic sea views, remains of roman (!) villas and a hidden sea pool. Free parking next to the main road, under the small mini market

Highly recommend if you're in Sorrento or surrounding areas. The beaches at Sorrento all cost substantial money while this is a free, less busy area and honestly more beautiful too. You can get a bus ticket for about 1.90 euros on the red eav buses themselves which takes you closer or walk from Sorrento but it's a decent walk on busy roads. Once you arrive, there are actually several spots to swim: The classic photo you see with the arch is beautiful but the busiest spot. Just before that is an awesome rock jump of approx 5m and before all that on the left is a quieter spot for swimming. I wore burks/sandals which were fine but it is quite rocky at the bottom and even up higher the path is stones so if you want to be cautious I recommend proper shoes.

Snorkeling and cliff jumping here was so fun! You can jump from all levels, it's pretty much safe & deep enough to jump anywhere. There is parking for €5 on scooters near the entrance. I recommend setting up your towels and spending most of your time a short walk past the lagoon. Inside the lagoon smells of sewage so a quick stop for photos is enough.

It is an excellent spot for a dip surrounded by rocks. It is a decent 10 minute walk downhill to get there. You can swim easily and walk around it to get some nice views of Sorrento. I'd recommend wearing comfortable shoes because it is an incline with stone paved roads. There is parking at the very top but only a few spaces. Overall, a great natural location.

Beautiful place! We somehow ended up in a thunder storm and rain during the walk. We had hoped to swim. One star taken off because of the location. We walked from town area of Sorrento to here - you walk on the super busy roads. Not sure if this was proper, but if you want to walk its the only way. Quite dangerous.. Bus seems like the only viable option. Please bae careful if you walk.

Historical beautiful place to visit while staying in Sorrento, it’s 45 mins walk from the city centre, or you can take the bus. The last mile is by walking it’s quite easy and nice road for walking. Brink water and food there’s nothing over there. Do not stay after dark.

Short walk from the road you find this amazing spot both for a dip in the blue water and great viewpoints. The last steps are slippery. To bring kids younger then 5 might be difficult. Don't miss out on this place if you are nearby! Entry is free but parking 20€ so take the bus, there's a stop.

You might want to avoid the Giovanna side (that hole doesn't handle a crowd and is a bit mosquito-y) in favor of the sunnier rocks to the left. It's quite the hike down - and back up, duh! But it's a gorgeous place for a dip in the Med. here in Sorrento. Oh, the walk from town is not for the light hearted either.

- Bagni Regina in Sorrento is a true gem! - The location is breathtaking with stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. - It's the perfect spot to soak up the sun, swim, bring food from nearby,and enjoy the beauty of Sorrento. - There is parking lot a 5 minutes walk from it. - it is not crowded and there is a safe trail leading there.

A must-see if you are in the area and value nature at its finest and history right in front of you! We walked from Sorrento, but we are a fit family and not afraid of walking! (you can also take the bus) It's very secluded and an unforgettable walk from the street. Wear good shoes, on rainy days it can be slick. What a beautiful place for a dip, or just to sit on the rocks and meditate on the surreal beauty!

You need to spend some time to reach the destination, but it is worth it. You will see exciting views, it is really beautiful in the morning and not crowded. You can take your swimming suites to swim in this beauty bay.

An incredible, authentic Italian location if you are planning your Amalfi Coast wedding. The atmosphere can only be fully appreciated when you visit and for a fully legal ceremony it really is a very special space. As a destination wedding planning company we are lucky to get to work in the most beautiful parts of the world, and for this UK/Italian wedding in 2023 we couldn't recommend Chiostro and Villa Antiche Mura highly enough.

Constructed in the 7th century, this convent, cloister, and chapel are picturesque in the extreme. You will seldom find a lovelier location, even on this Sorrentine Peninsula which is world renowned for its beauty.

You don't need tickets but you do need to know where it is as it is hidden up and alleyway which then opens up. Lovely place for a photo opportunity. It's also attached to a local photographers shop. The lady who works there is ever so friendly and we happily chatted about photography for some time. We'll worth a visit. Free to walk around.

In love. If you go further down to the left of the main doors to the church you can escape the hustle of Sorrento beachgoers. It's currently undergoing refurbishments upstairs so I wasn't able to see the swing or view, but it was still so worth it. So peaceful and absolutely lovely.

Such a beautiful location for a wedding ceremony! As a wedding photographer, I get to travel around Europe visiting some of the most best wedding venues. The cloisters is truly unique and a beautiful location for a wedding ceremony before choosing a local venue like Villa Antiche Mura for your wedding reception. Highly recommended.

Wow! What an amazing find! The grounds are very nice. The art exhibit on the second floor was amazing! A local photographer's (Raffaele Celentano) b&w photos are incredible, especially the Mother Theresa section. The views from the building are the best in the entire city! Also, the price of admission to the art exhibit was only 5€!

A beautiful place, not obviously sign posted to look for the entrance to the area. We also visited a beautiful photo gallery at the top of the terrace with breathtaking views of Sorrento. There was an admission charge of €5 to the gallery but it was well worth it for the experience of the wonderful photos and the views.

Nice arts place to visit if you are in Sorrento

Wonderful free historic cloister to visit! The entry doorway feels a bit hidden so look for signs. It is one of the oldest monuments of Sorrento and located adjacent to the church. The small doorway/hallway you walk through opens to the beautiful old courtyard you see in the photos. Built on the ruins of a 7th-century monastery, the cloister blends 14th-century style with the following period styles, incorporating ruins from pagan temples and other archaeological sites. There’s also a paid photo gallery upstairs that usually features local artists.

Impressive view but I liked the place much better when it was all mossy and overgrown with vegetation. That adds to the mystique of the place. In its current 'shaved' state it looks just like prison in a pit...

What were they thinking when they removed the overgrowth of plants on the structure? That was the sole reason people came to see the atmospheric charm in which it brought there. Disappointing to see that it no longer looks how it does in the pictures.

Beautiful and quiet area to relax in. Cafe and bars nearby, lots of shops to browse in and food heaven. If you love lemons, this place has the biggest lemons around!

Beautiful site, but it’s not really a park in the traditional sense. You can view it from the street above, looking down into the area where the sawmill used to be, now reclaimed by plants.

Very cool old ruin. Don’t follow google maps, it’ll take you down blind alleys behind peoples houses. Just aim for Hotel Antiche Mura, Carey on to the bridge just after it and down, look over the bridge. As others have said, it’s lovely to see if you’re already around Corso Italia and have a few minutes to kill. Not worth a special trip.

Our hotel room balcony overlooked it. It was prettier as a ruin festooned in green. Let’s see what they re-make of it.

Very cool you can easily walk there from the main square , make sure to walk to the top of the road because you can really see the depth of this natural wonder

It's a place that is definitely worth to see. The valley and a building at the bottom of it is really impressive. It's just 2 minutes from main street so it should be in to-do list of every trip.

Very nice view of the overrun building. Encapsulates the balance between nature and the urban setting.

It's cool and it takes like 5 minutes to go to there from the station and have a look. But there's nothing more than viewing it from above. You can't actually walk there.

Although no longer abandoned, it is still an amazing sight to see. The depths of the ravine are breathtaking. They are rehabilitating the buildings at the bottom, it’s pretty cool to see the work they’re doing.

Beautiful hidden gem in the city. You cannot walk down to the building and look around, only a view from above. Saying that, it’s right near the Piazza Tasso and is definately worth a look

Liked the view, but was a huge disappointment that you cant access to the viewing platforms to see closer all the caves hidden between the houses. Nice minute or two walk from the centre.

You cant really visit; just view from street level. Which is a pity, as I bet there's a lot of history down there.

Peaceful church...they charge 0.50 cent for the toilet but there was no toilet paper and dirty.

Beautiful church in the heart of Sorrento. You can find a real 3D Christmas installation inside. Angels, people, buildings, and landscape they all are crafted with some materials and look so real. There are so many details that you can contemplate this scene for a long time

You are humbled the minute you walk through the magnificent doors. The diorama of the Nativity in the bustling city of Bethlehem is breathing! Please say a prayer and light a candle for a loved one. Remember to make a worthy donation when you do. I must have blessed myself a dozen times before leaving. ♥️

A stunning cathedral of baroque architecture right in the city center, unfortunately I didn’t manage to take any pictures of the insides but trust me it’s totally worth it! I highly suggest visiting Sorrento and if you are able to visit this cathedral, you will admire amazing architectural decorations and frescoes!

From the outside this looks like very simple white church. But if you go inside you can watch a beautiful cathedral. I recommend to take a look at it if you are in Sorrento.

Spent a morning here last week at the height of beach season and it was a good experience! It was an easy walk down the path from city center with great views as you go down. Easy to take the public elevator back up that’s right by the beach entrance. The beach itself was clean, soft sand, the water was clear and so refreshing. Early in the morning with fewer people it was very clear, and still nice later on. Some fish around even! I didn’t swim outside the protected area. Very family friendly with lots of kids running around. Lots of good seating options - we wanted to be on the sand so ended up in the back row in a couple of nice loungers with an umbrella for 44 euros total. They asked us to move at one point which was weird since they hadn’t given us assigned seats but oh well. The pier options looked good, too. Nice clean toilets, a few outdoor showers to rinse off (no enclosed ones that I noticed), and a restaurant. Overall a good experience!

Affordable and clean Lido with friendly staff and service. I paid 15 euro for a single deck chair and umbrella (end of september 2021). This also includes bar and snack service to your deck chair (drinks, cocktails, sandwiches/pizza/salads). The water in the beachclub is clear and clean - and easily accessible via various stairs. All staff speak english!

Went to this beach twice during our trip and would not have it any other way! Multiple places to relax, including a sandy area! Service was excellent with Pablo, water was absolutely stunning and clear, with incredible views. Huge private swimming area, tons of changing rooms, and beautiful people.

We arrived here on a Sunday after trying multiple different beach clubs which were all full. Sadly we walked towards Leonelli's who did have 2 spots for us left. To be fair they weren't the best spots but it was half the price for what we payed at Marameo a few days before. The staff was nice & the water was also very nice. At Leonelli's you can easily access the water with the stair but also from a little beach. We enjoyed the swimming here much more than the other clubs. The food was also nice. I would spend the day here again.

Beautiful beach club in Sorrento. The beach is small, yes, but this is Sorrento. The service is good, the water is amazing and the platforms offer enough space for sunbathing. The food was good at the restaurant. Gluten free options are available, the servers are well informed. The entrance fee to the beach was 36€ for two people.

Total rip-off. All the "beaches" at this part of Sorrento are very expensive to visit, and they aren't even real beaches, just overcrowded wooden piers. A ten minute walk brings you to a free sandy beach in Marina Grande, and a half-hour walk brings you to beautiful stony beaches in bays that are also free.

Visited and arrived without all swim wear. The Lady Manager was phenomenal. She was working out options and came up with myself buying a pair of their uniform shorts. Maybe I could work off the bill if our Credit card gets lost swimming. :-) And we then all enjoyed swimming in the sea, friendly fish swimming near but away from us up to 30cm long. €10 each for a sun bed. Food and drink was reasonably priced and staff very kind and professional. This was the last week of October and we swam in the sea. Wonderful. Thanks Leonelli’s Beach

We arrived at 9:30 and the entire place was empty. We paid €44 for two beach beds and umbrella only to be put in the very back row. We asked for better beds but we’re told they are not available. You know how this goes, some stayed open all day. But giving the benefit of the doubt that they were reserved and that the lady at the front didn’t mean to be rude, here is a summary: 1. Crowded with beds spaces closely together. 2. Unless you are in the dock, no ocean view 3. Some nice shade so a big plus on a hot day 4. Clean bathrooms. 5. Nice Sandy ocean floor 6. Not great food service For €58 total for the 6 hours we stayed …. I dunno. But in Sorrento you have no choice if you want to do some swimming.

Leonelli beach club, if you looking for a place to swim and relax for the day, this is an option. Easy to get to via the lift in the park above the club, 2 euro per person and offers a way to the port Once out of the lift head right there are 2 options one is leonellis It fills quickly on weekends and sunny hot days If your new you will get the beds not pre-booked Neither area makes a difference as the water stairs are located around the wharf You can we code the menu for the restaurant on the umbrellas Beds are 20 euros and an umbrella is 10 Expensive yes- worth while yes The water here is turquoise and at this time of year brisk The view up the cliffs to the hotels is amazing- the supporting brickworks truly astonishing The ocean water is fabulous to be in. The food options are basic from the restaurant and prices are ok. Most items are cooked from frozen, nothing on the menu is exciting, the panni are your best options, I suggest you pack a few items like rolls or pastries and water, maybe snacks as well - most of the locals have done this Overall it’s a great day , cost is a factor, but outweighed by the water and the view. It’s a strong 3 on the rating, based on lesser alternatives

Very nice friendly, very populated beach with changing rooms, hot showers cost 1 euro .cold showers are free. Resturant serving hot and cold food. delicious sandwiches, well stocked bar, expresso coffee and On the beach service.

Reserved our chairs a day in advance for $22 Euros each with umbrellas on the dock with great views of the oceans, perfect way to spend a lazy day in Sorrento the water is so warm and wonderful. Alfonsina at the front desk was so helpful. I felt it was great value and would go back when I return to Sorrento. :)

I did not swim here but the view from the top of the cliff is great! It is like a movie scenery!

Have come here for two years. Staff is attentive, restaurant is excellent. Book your sun chairs on the “molo” and don’t forget the umbrella!

Probably the best beach in Sorrento. Its sandy with an artificial bulwark about 35m from the beach. This creates a calm lagoon where its great to swim. The water gets gradually deeper as you go out so its safe for non swimmers once you exercise common sense. There are also lifeguards on duty. There's a restaurant/ beach club that does nice food and ice creams and fruit salads. The staff all speak English and are really helpful. The beach is overlooked by two hotels hanging on the cliff which looks spectacular.

This place is such a gem. We are so incredibly grateful we got to experience this wonderful shop. They really took care of us here and let us explore and taste their incredible lemoncello, orange, mandarine, and their marmalades. The ladies are lovely and welcoming and we wanted to spend the whole day in the gardens! You must stop and enjoy this place when visiting Sorrento. This is the best lemoncello and best marmalade ever. Grazie mille, faccio il bis!

If you want to be surrounded by the most beautiful lemon tree gardens, and drink exceptional limoncello, then this is the place to go! We had 2 limoncello slushies, got to sample some of their more unusual drinks (definitely try the fennel and liquorice drinks!), bought some lovely gifts that smell incredible and had to get another limoncello slushie to go as they're just so delicious! Staff are all very friendly and the place is spotlessly clean!

Cute little place to stop for a drink or gelato and to take photos with the lemon trees. It's a store, not a bar really. But there's lots of local product to buy and it's a nice quiet place to enjoy.

We stopped by for ice creams and coffee. The lemon-flavored gelato (it's actually called sorrento) is amazing, and so is pistachio. The ice cream and coffee prices are very fair: you pay the same price as in a random ice cream shop in Naples (3.50 for 2 scoops), and get to sit in a beautiful lemon grove. Yummiest lemon, orange, melon gelato/sorbet here! I will come here again and again for the melon one!!!! And the refreshing experience walking in the garden, is just amazing! Loved it!

This was the best ice cream 🍨 we found in Campania) lemon and orange sorbet 🫠🫠🫠 host was super friendly and the garden is beautiful too. I regret I t anything else from them. (Unfortunately Not all the places in the south Italy have great service and welcome people genuinely)

I Giardini di Cataldo is a hidden gem offering amazing lemon sorbet, limoncello and sorts of lemon treats that you can enjoy among lemon trees. It's a must-visit for lemon enthusiasts and those seeking a peaceful atmosphere.

Super spot! Some of the best gelato experienced in southern Italy so far. Worth a stop and.enjoying the locally made limoncello and gelato. Highly recommend. Get in out of the heat and enjoy a cool environment.

Very charming place, but the limoncello we bought was most unpleasant. We tried it first, tasted great, then bought a bottle. But when we got it home, the flavour was very poor - almost undrinkable. We suspected they had not washed out a container well enough - there was a very strong Milton/bleach taste. Shame.

Went there because I thought it is a liqour store. Turns out it is a lovely artisan limoncello producer who only produces with local fruits. There was a really nice and funny guy called Luigi, who explained the process to us and gave us samples. It was by far the best limoncello I have ever had. Pricing is really fair too I think. Great shop, love it! And: Luigi is the best!

The best handmade limoncello and lemon goodies by the most lovely humans! Had an incredible time in the magical lemon garden sampling all of the different limoncellos. Salavatore and co. will make you feel like family from the second you arrive.

This is a fabulous place to visit in Sorrento. The gardens are phenomenally peaceful & beautiful - and the business itself is very well decorated and done. We were so impressed by the size of the gardens- they just kept going! We loved the time spent here. Highly recommend popping in

Their lemon slushies were great, and their lemoncello even better. We enjoyed the short walk around their lemon tree garden and the delicious treats!

Cute place to stop for a refreshment and take a quick wander in the small access you have to the lemon grove. We sampled limoncello and ended up buying 3 different flavours. My favourite is the melon. The lemon sorbet was delicious. Not sour like they usually are. There are restrooms on site.

If visiting Sorrento and arriving by bus, just 1 minute from the bus station. Really excellent place to stop for a drink of water or some ice cream etc. Large selection of gifts mainly themed on lemon. Lovely free garden to sit and chat.

While the rest of Sorrento was an American tourist trap and irritated by tourists, this liquor/gelato store was one of the best authentic experiences we had in the city! The younger staff members were so kind and sweet and even with the overwhelming amount of American tourists, they were so incredibly helpful, kind and authentic. They chatted with us, helped us pronounce Italian words correctly, laughed with us and just genuinely seemed like happy people. I wish I could remember the their names, but because of the wonderful experience we had here, we came back every night for Peroni’s, lemon gelato and even our Sorrento souvenirs! The ambiance, atmosphere and vibes outside under the lemon trees were absolutely stunning. We stayed in Sorrento for 3 days and we must of stopped here at least 5 times. Absolutely loved this little place and wish the rest of the city treated us the way their younger employees treated us! 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We visited here and it was a nice spot. The lemons weren’t fully grown out yet, but I still loved the fact of just being in a lemon grove. They have limoncello that they make in house and I liked it. They have different flavors of sorbet. There was a lot of traffic coming through there.

Rossella was an Angel. She gave us the best tour of the limoncello process as well as a great lunch and samples of their products today. I would definitely recommend booking their tour in advance

Stopped here for look after seeing the reviews....wish I hadn't bothered. The garden was gd to see, but as they had a coach party in we were not offered any samples even when I asked. I was asked if I was with the party, I said no, so I was told I could buy something, despite it saying we offer free samples on the door. In the words of Julia Roberts in pretty woman...." big mistake...huge.....we walked up town and spent obscene amounts of money in a shop that was welcoming to everyone not just groups....my advice shop elsewhere.

Great view towards Vezuvio and Napoli, on the hill. The park is also great and has many interesting species of plants worth the walk, even though it's a small place. The whole space isn't marked correctly on maps or if they're two separate gardens - check out the one behind the statue.

Came here by tour during Covid-19. Taking a tour at that time was the only way to visit. Suprisingly there weren't really any other visitors that day. The views here are of course the reason to come. Nice views of the Gulf of Napoli, the Vesuvio and the Sorrento Coast. There would also be a beach club, a restaurant and a hotel on site, sharing the same amazing views. I never get enough of the ocean. And just standing here taking the views in was enough for for me. A peaceful sight. Really enjoyed this spot.

Beautiful views from the coast, but couldn’t find way to the beach 😂😅 There is a comfortable main car park nearby, many small restaurants, shops, market. Everything in one place.

Cool beach where you pay for your sun lounge, chair, and umbrella. Rest rooms, changing rooms. Beer, snacks, Good restaurants with good service. Great people watching. Same price as Nerano beach.

A beautiful location to relax and just embrace the beautiful architecture and the sounds of the birds 🐦‍⬛ I came here in 2017 and someone was having their wedding there, it was a beautiful location to have one.

This was a very beautiful panaromic spot. We could find a lot of picture taking places. We really had fun here and we went in the morning so it wasn’t much crowded.

Located just past the Chiostro di San Francesco is the Villa Comunale Park. It stretches along the waterfront on an elevated overlook (there’s a paid elevator and a free winding path down to the water nearby). Stunning panoramic views await you when you visit. There are benches all long the area and a cafe nearby. Worth a stop to take in the view and enjoy the sea breeze.

There’s a beautiful view of the sea here and you can see a good amount of the large coast all the way up to Vesuvius. If you wish to go to the beach, you can take the lift or the stairs. However, if you actually want to swim, you’ll find that you can only do this by buying a spot, amongst a large crowd of people, since the public beach is only for the locals.

Lovely, understated basilica with superb cloisters in the proximity of water edge with a lovely sightseeing park overlooking the bay just behind it.

Everywhere we go in Italy we find exquisite chapels created by the faithful. This one and its associated reliquary was constructed with material from more ancient Roman and Grecian temples and residences.

Beautiful church, but definitely check out the crypt and see how many attest to being healed by the saint!

The Basilica of Sant'Antonino is a medieval Roman Catholic basilica in the city of Piacenza in Italy. it is dedicated to the patron saint of the city, Antoninus. The original church of Sant'Antonio was an early Christian martyrium.[1] The present building was the work of Bishop Sigifredo, who dedicated it in 1014 as a collegiate church.[2] He chose the form of a oriented basilica with a western nave and a campanile. The interior was decorated with early Romanesque painting, a little of which survives.[1] The basilica on pilgrimage routes was designed by Pietro Vago in 1350. In 1998, a large statue of Gregory X, sculpted by Giorgio Groppi, was placed under the large Portico of Paradise. The Portico was itself completed in the 12th century with carvings by the school of Niccolò da Ferrara. The church has been rebuilt and modified across the century. The carved wood ceiling was substituted by Gothic tracery. In the 19th century pseudo-gothic decoration was added to the interior. The adjacent cloister dates to 1483. The interior of the church contains frescoes by Camillo Gavasetti in the presbytery, and canvases by Robert de Longe. Many of the works have been transferred to the Civic Gallery. Among the works retained is a "Coronation of the Virgin" by Gian Battista Trotti (il Malosso).[

An excellent private collection given to the town. The archaeological rooms were closed when I visited but very much enjoyed the mainly 19th paintings of Sorrento and Naples and wished it looked more like that now rather than the present day chaos with the traffic and tourists. Some beautiful views from the villa across the Bay of Naples. You'll spend about an hour here.

One of the two museums in Sorrento. It has a wide range of art: sculptures, clocks, paintings, furniture, and inlaid woodwork. There's a nice lemon and orang grove garden you can stroll through as well. If you're staying in Sorrento for more than a day its worth a trip.

As a museum, it’s meh. BUT the Three Tenors concert 3x a week from April-August are a MUST!! If you are expecting a stuffy, high brow event, think twice, but if you are expecting to be moved and become familiar with opera in an entertaining way then book now! PS Please do not spend the whole evening recording, enjoy life.

Magnificent collection of porcelain, cozy garden.

We went to watch the 3 tenors here and what a treat! Outstanding musicians and an experience I will never forget. I would have given 5 stars however 1 was removed as we brought 2 glasses of Prosecco for 10 euros to walk up the stairs into the venue to be told we couldn't take the drinks in. We had to down the drink or simply leave it. If we had known in advance would have declined to purchase.

Beautiful exhibits detailing the vivid history of the region. For 8 Euros a person, this museum​ is a must if you're visiting Sorrento. Top it off with a leisurely stroll through their gorgeous garden - you will not regret it!

We visited back in 2017 and had an evening at the museum watching and listening to the 3 tenors. It was the highlight of our trip to Sorrento and we have always said we will one day visit again. I can't wait to revisit. The museum is stunning and the performance was beyond our expectations. Magical evening.

An excellent visit. Initially it may not seem value for money but if you go to the Belvidere (sitting area) the view is spectacular and quiet. The artwork reflects the culture of the 18th century Sorrento and the top floor is truly amazing - I won’t say why but leave you to find out. A great 2.5 hour visit.

A varied collection of objects collated by a local finally with a long heritage. Whilst some objects are very beautiful and unique the description of each is limited and therefore your are left hurrying from one room to the next and feel you could get more from the visit. Nice view of Vesuvius from the top floor.

Beautiful and colourful little shop selling all sorts of candies, Limoncello and all sorts of Italian goodies. The interior is warm and the staff are lovely who are not shy in handing out free samples of chocolates, spreads and limoncello. Definitely a hot spot to check out in Sorrento! We went in Winter and Limonoro was open. Just check the times as they change in winter and may not be accurate on Google!

Such a fun little stop while in Sorrento! So many free samples of chocolates, candies, crema di pistachio, limoncello, meloncello! Everything was so tasty and I ended up getting lots of things to take back home for my family, plus a few treats for myself. The staff were super friendly and so helpful! Definitely recommend checking this place out!

This was our first night in Sorrento and we came across Limonoro. We walked in and the gentleman who was walking around with samples made us feel so welcome. He joked with us and was very personable! Thank you for making our Sorrento experience so memorable!

So good! They let you taste all the things they make there. And you can buy them also, the prices are good and just like other shops, so you can buy what you want while you’re there.

10 years ago we visited Sorrento for a day and our tour guide told us the best Limoncello is at Limonoro. We LOVED it back then and first thing we did when we got to Sorrento 10 years later is go to Limonoro. Not only is it the best Limoncello but they are an experience in itself in the store. As soon as you enter they are feeding you cookies and other desserts, someone is handing you shots, and another worker is going around with even more sweets to try. I LOVE the chocolate and lemon cookies and Nutella circular treats. The mellon limoncello is sweeter and tastier than the original limoncello in my opinion. Overall, still the best place for limoncello in Sorrento.

Enjoyed all the free tastings of limoncello, etc. We got a few drinks and pastries for family and friends back home. The prices are a bit steep but the goods are good, and great quality. This colourful store offered a lot of goods that are great for souvenirs or gifts.

Stumbled by this place on our last day in Sorrento. Walked in to find some souvenirs and the lady was so n8ce in giving us samples then there was a tasting tour just starting and she pushed is in and told us to just stick with them so she can give us all the samples. It was delicious! My mouth is watering now just thinking about it! Amazing cookies, treats and of course, limoncello!! Highly recommend!

This should be on your list to visit if you're in Sorrento! Really welcoming staff with free samples, a production area, and a nice selection of drinks to purchase. Also, don't miss out on the cookies - they are surprisingly delicious. 🍪

This was absolutely the highlight of my time in Sorrento Italy! As soon as we entered the store we were greeted with nothing but warm smiles and kind eyes. Antonella, graciously offered my colleagues and myself a vast assortment of limoncello to taste. AMAZING! Hands down some of the best limoncello i have every had. What is more, they offered us a variety of homemade candies and chocolates that were devine. The store was tidy with beautifully illuminated displays. I will absolutely be coming back here. This is a really lovely museum set in a very interesting building in the center of Sorrento. The first little corridor is not very inspiring, but it's easy to get completely immersed in finding out what's in all the little draws in the next three floors. My partner who is an architect was absolutely entranced by the quality of the sketch work and the beautiful and unusual shapes of some of the furniture. It's also really lovely how the museum sets the scene (social, industry, fashion etc.) before moving on to much of the tarsilinear work so that the scenes depicted can be really understood. The woodworking tools were also fascinating, as was the discussion of wood staining. You can easily spend 2 hours here if you take the time to get the most out of it. Well worth a visit.

This museum is a secret cultural jewel just two minutes of the commercial main road in the heard of Sorrento. The historic palazzo itself is stunning, but the outstanding renovation makes it more then special. The exhibition itself which leads to contemporary works is definitely worth seeing. You can’t miss the extraordinary scenography and lighting on every level of the museum. We were here in March and the Café in the back garden was still closed. I imagine it as a magic place in summer.

Interesting display of both inlaid wood and local economic and historical developments, including how Sorrento developed as a tourist destination from the 19th century onwards. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the catalogue was a bit pricey we felt. There is a superb modern section in the basement, don't miss it.

Well worth a visit when you're in Sorrento. The displays are excellent and the building itself, a 16th century baron's house, is amazing.

If you are an aficionado of inlaid wood this might produce an orgasm. For the average layperson however this is an adequate experience, but very static and lacking in an explanation of the techniques employed in creating some very beautiful and also some very tacky works of art. I would have liked to have seen a video at least of an artisan working the various stages of a creation. Maybe a Google search will provide that. 8 Euros a bit pricey for an entrance fee.

This is a place with a rich selection of very highly crafted furniture and exhibits. There's more than meets the eye, trays of supporting pictures, drawings & associated art, but don't miss the ceilings on the upper floors! (A helpful lift may be a bonus for some).

Worth going to see if you are interested in marquetry. Both impressive old pieces and some modern designs, and insights into the techniques used. Friendly staff. A little pricey for the size of the museum.
