Yoshida's udon restaurant...I only know a little about it, but it had a good reputation, so I was worried that the atmosphere inside would be wheelchair accessible, but I thought it would be fine if I just went there as much as I could. I went there casually. Fortunately, I was able to park my car, and entered the store through a narrow entrance that looked like a private house. The entrance is just like a private house, and the inside is all tatami rooms. Rather than a restaurant, it feels more like a converted private house and a shop.
In my wheelchair, I could only go as far as the entrance, so I got out of my wheelchair, took a seat nearby, removed the cushion from my wheelchair, placed it on the floor to relieve pressure on my buttocks, and sat down.
The store wasn't crowded, but the staff didn't care at all and I had to sit down all by myself, so I think it would be difficult for people who require nursing care to enter the store.
I ate the signature menu that bears the store's name...Musashi Udon (700 yen). Is the soup stock made from bonito? I thought. It's quite a sweet and strong soup. The toppings are cabbage, kitsune, wakame, and kakiage. The kakiage is large and fried to a crispy texture, making it very pleasant to eat. Overall, it had a refreshing and sweet taste, so I added some spicy sardine and ended up using it quite a bit (^^;).
The noodles are hand-made and have an uneven, delicious-looking shape, and are thick, hard, and chewy. I think it stands out compared to other stores. The noodles were filling and delicious.
The staff service isn't bad, but it's bland and doesn't have any particular quality, just like the self-made udon noodles. There is no particular ambition or vitality at all. But maybe that's Musashi's uniqueness...
