(Translated by Google) “Yabusoba Miyamoto” is a famous restaurant that attracts soba lovers from all over the country, located about 15 minutes by taxi from Shimada Station in Shizuoka Prefecture.
On this day, I visited alone at 11:30 on a weekday. Since it was not the weekend, there were no other customers.
The shop is an old private house that has been renovated. The gentle tones of wind chimes echo in the shop, creating a calming atmosphere.
There are more than 10 types of soba noodles, including cold soba and hot soba.
There are also a la carte dishes such as itawasa, herring sticks, and soba sushi and soba-gaki that must be reserved by the day before.
Among them, we ordered "Tenzaru (3,000 yen including tax)", "Okajiri soba (900 yen including tax)", and "Soba-gaki (2,500 yen including tax)".
Please note that photography is prohibited inside the store. However, when I asked if I could take a picture of the food because it was useless, "Soba-gaki" was the only good thing. Unfortunately, the picture of soba was NG.
You can choose either Edomae or hand-ground "Soba-gaki", and I reserved "Hand-ground soba-gaki".
“Hand-ground soba-gaki” is a large, round-shaped dish that is about the size of an adult fist. On the surface of buckwheat oysters, grains with shells can be seen floating. When you take a bite, the fragrant flavor spreads in your mouth, and you can enjoy the unique aroma along with the chewy and elastic texture.
After eating it as it is without adding anything, dip it in the special thick sauce for soba-gaki and eat it. Also, if you eat it with soybean flour at the end, you can eat it like a dessert.
"Tenzaru" puts tempura into a warm soup. Tempura and soba noodles are dipped in the tempura sauce and eaten.
Soba noodles have a chewy and slightly hard texture.
I ate the first bite without adding anything, but the scent wasn't that strong.
The amount of soba is as small as word of mouth, and you can eat it in about 3 mouthfuls.
“Shrimp Kakiage Tempura” was a dish where you can enjoy the “crispy” texture and condensed shrimp umami.
I was soothed by the mother's classy customer service and the homey atmosphere of a family business, so I stayed for about an hour and left the store.
Although it is difficult to visit, I would like to visit again before I die.
