Teh Sarbat Asli (Teh Halia) No Sugar, No Cream = RM2.00
Roti Bakar = RM2.00
No Service Charge
This is a Quiet Little Warung tucked away in the Corner and has a Very Nice Quiet Kampung Feel to it.
When I was there at 8.00am on a Friday, it wasn't particularly Crowded but did have a Steady Stream of Customers. I could still easily find seats as a Solo Diner.
The Interior had a very Classic Rustic Kampung Kopitiam style of Look and is run by a Jolly and Friendly Malay Abang. There was also a Very Adorable Manja Cute Kitty roaming the Area too!
Teh Sarbat Asli (Teh Halia) No Sugar, No Cream = RM2.00
More commonly known as "Teh Halia" in Singapore, this is a Ginger Tea. This shop also calls it Teh Halia in its Menu too, so I have no idea if there is really a difference between the 2. Compared to Regular Teh Halia in SG though, the one here tastes SUPER CONCENTRATED!
Apparently, they use Real Grounded Ginger to make this instead of Pre-Packaged Packets and I agree with this claim. It really does taste like how Real Ginger tastes like.
Especially because I didn't add any Cream or Sugar, this tasted Particularly Strong and Spicy, and the Spice will linger on your Throat. Not a Drink that will appeal to many people, but if you are someone who enjoys Teh Halia, you are going to LOVE this Super Concentrated, Super Strong Version!
Roti Bakar = RM2.00
Translates as Grilled or more accurately, Toasted Bread, this one was mentioned and recommended by many people in many Reviews about this place. It took about 2 Mins to be served up and was quite a Big Fat Bun. Both Sides are slathered with Butter and Brown Kaya.
The Kaya has a Deep Caramelly Coconut Taste, Sweet yet not Overly Sweet with a Smooth and not Gritty Texture. Because of how Not Overly Sweet it tastes, I have a feeling this is Homemade.
The Bun itself was really Super Fluffy and Pillowy, but the Highlight for me was the Slightly Burnt Crispy Crust which had a tinge of Sweetness to it. When biting into this Roti Bakar, your teeth will first hit the Crispy Crunch of the Crust followed immediately with the Soft Texture of the Bun and finally mixed in with that Beautiful Kaya Butter Mix. What an Incredible Combo!
Conclusion and Closing Thoughts:
This is possibly one of the Strongest, Most Concentrated Teh Halia I have ever drank so far. If you are able to add Cream and Sugar to it, I reckon it will taste very Smooth. Drinking it "Kosong" like this is also quite shiok if you are the type that enjoy the Gingery Spiciness.
Roti Bakar also surprised me because it tastes so good. I know this is just a Simple Toasted Bun, but for some reason this tastes ALOT NICER than some of the Big Name Franchise Kaya Toasts we have in Singapore. (Alot more Affordable too, I might add!)
At a Total Combined price of RM4.00 (S$1.20), this is Absolutely Worth the Money to come give this a Try. They also have Various other Rice or Noodle Dishes if you want, and I saw quite alot of people buying their Ayam Goreng (Fried Chicken) too.
With a Nice and Relaxing Kampung-Styled Atmosphere and a Friendly Owner, this is a Really Nice Quiet Place to enjoy your Breakfast. Bonus Points if you are a Cat Lover! Highly Recommended!
