Beautiful spot to watch the waves. You can go up in the lighthouse, but I believe its a couple yen. I'm not sure. The views are amazing! I caught these with my phone, I wish I would've bought my camera!

The beautiful lighthouse grounds are open to the public. Take a stroll and grab something to eat, see the huge Shisa and ship near the children’s playground. You only pay to enter the lighthouse and climb the 99 stairs to reach the top for the amazing panoramic views. Once you are done, climb back down and enter the small but informative mini lighthouse museum. There is ample free parking.

If you like cape, this is a must visit place. There are many capes in Okinawa but this is one of the best one for me. Lots of people came here with binocular for whale watching. I came here to see very nice view of the cape. There are several areas here with very good view of the cape and the sea, spacious and nice to walk. Some people even cycle in this area.

Checking out the lighthouse at Cape Zanpa on a nice day was fun. We climbed to the top for 300 yen (students are cheaper) and got to take in the beautiful view. The steep stairs were a workout but the breeze and stunning views made the journey worth it. There was free parking and no wait time when we arrived.

Beautiful day with clear blue sky. Best day to visit the lighthouse. Got to pay 300 Yen to climb up the stairs to the visiting deck above. Gave it a miss. Walked around the area and soaked in plenty of Vitamin D!

This was a neat visit and easily worth the few hundred yen they charge for admission. The climb is 99 large steps, and it’ll get you if you’re a bit out of shape like I am. But the views from the top are worth the effort!

There are lots of parking and it is free. The lighthouse costs 300 yen to go up. There is a restroom and a blue seal near the parking lot.

It's a really neat place to see. There isn't a lot of signs that explain where things could have been like the other castles. However, the architecture is beautiful, as is the view from the wall. The castle grounds are large, and the hike around is very pretty. Definitely go see the castle if you have time.

We enjoyed the scenery very green, relaxing and cool breeze. I suggest visit the museum first to know the history of ruins and then experience it. There is 500¥ adult entrance fee in the museum. No English translations though but staff are friendly and will let you download the application for the English voiceover (free wifi). There’s also parking spaces at the back of ruins if the front parking are full (go straight then right turn). There are 2 bathrooms too (1 at the parking & 1 near the ruins).

One of the nicer castle ruins. Big open space with sweeping views of the city. The best part is it is free admission. Parking provided. Love the surrounding greenery. Quite peaceful. One can spend hours here.

What a fun and very beautiful park. Went on a sunny day in November and the view was stunning from on top of the castle wall! I highly recommend making a stop if you’re in the area.

Stunning location that’s more than a castle ruin. The museum is great and shares the property. The castle is very well kept and easily accessible. The trail past the promenade has a bat roost (wild and free). Excellent stop for a few hours.

Beautiful views and greenery. Definitely a relaxing place to chill although there wasn't much to see, just castle walls. I think this place is more for going for a jog, walking your dog, or to take a stroll -- not much of a tourist attraction. The historical text welcoming you has no English translation either so we were clueless as to what makes these castle ruins significant. Comfortable shoes are recommended.

Just when for a swim on my bike. If you just want to use the beach, can't without paying and they serve no beer. Two hundred meters to the south of this entrance there is a path that leads down to a private cove. Swimming and snorkeling there was great, only one in the cove.

Clear beach, should really wear water shoes otherwise all the rocks would be too spiky to step on. I saw that before high tide time (before 5pm), lots of people get out of the restricted swimming area to swim, but there will be announcements once the tide was about to come, and once it does, water rises really fast so better stick to the restricted are. There are two shower facilities at both end of the beach and they close at 6:30 pm so if you want to shower, should get there by the time. It takes 3 medals for 4 minutes of water and you have to exchange for the medals at the Marine House next to it, we made a mistake of putting three 100 yen coins in the shower machine and the machine didn’t work, I got the coins returned but my friend got his lost inside the machine and even the manager at the facility couldn’t find it, so we lost 300 yen. The beach js in front of the Nikko Alivia resort, but it’s a public beach after all and everyone can use it, but I can tell that since it was far from the center, not many people go there actually, so there are plenty of space to swim around. You can rent the parasol and chairs from the hotel even if you’re not staying there.

Beautiful place with gorgeous sunsets. But for the beach isn’t the best option. The water is quite shallow and during the day is good for the kids only. You’re not supposed to swim anywhere beyond the net, so there’s not much room left for a good swim. Not the best place for snorkeling either. They do have some good water sports options. There’s a lifeguard on duty from around 9 am to 5 pm. Not sure one is so essential in such a narrow shallow place though.

If you're staying in the Onnason area, you must go to this free beach! You can get to the beach by passing by Hotel Nikko Alivia. You don't have to be staying at this hotel to enter Nirai Beach. The beach has vending machines, restaurants, and a marine house and also you can enjoy various marine sports. There is also a shower room, I believe it costs 300 yen and you can use the shower for about 4-5 minutes.

This is a must-go beach for a family with little kids—a private beach with free parking—incredible scenery surrounded by some rocks. The best sunset in Okinawa so far.

A resort beach so not the best for beach combing for clear swimming and other water sports. The rock formations are fun and some have some shrines. Parking is available and some are paid lots from the resorts.

We visited the Ryukyu Lantern Festival and Murasaki Muri this evening. It was a beautiful evening to walk around and take in all the beautiful light. The grounds were well-kept, and the compound quiet and laid-back. Multiple vendors, and all super friendly. We availed ourselves of snacks from several different vendors, all were delicious! I highly recommend this if you’re looking for a peaceful and calming experience.

Whether your looking for a family outing or a romantic date night this place did not upset! Especially if your leaving the island... get this on your things to see before you leave list! The lanterns last till the end of March so hurry soon!

We are so happy we made it to the lantern festival before it ended. Walking through the park with the gorgeous lanterns illuminating was not only enchanting but romantic. We went as a group and all parties had a wonderfully magic experience. We highly recommend taking the time to enjoy this beautiful festival while it is still going. It cost 700 yen for Junior and high school students 1200 yen per adult. Elementary students are cheaper and under five is free. The lantern festival starts after 5 pm throughout March.

Visited during the day. Splendid recreation of a classic Okinawan village. Kind of like a living museum. There are crafts that are an additional cost you can participate in. Other than that there isn't much to see.

We went to see the lantern festival which costs ¥1800 and starts at 1730H. We had fun walking through paths with unique lanterns while traditional music was playing. This is highly recommended for family photo shoots, the colorful background highlights Japan's culture. We walked for a good hour and there are open stores to buy food from in case you want to grab a bite.

Very nice to visit during lightning-up season - you can enjoy both at day time and night time. We went at 5:30 p.m and 9:00 p.m so didn't have the chance to enjoy handmade courses.

A very nice and quiet theme park. I liked that it felt like a very immersive experience - you can just walk around and explore at your own pace without having workers tell you what to do. I didn't try and of the activities (although I was very tempted to pain my own shisa), but I saw people doing some and it looked fun. The only downside is that you have to pay extra for all the activities and some of them you have to book in advance, which is a bit hard to do if you don't speak Japanese. Also it felt like the park was missing something... Like I wish there were more things happening, at some parts it looked simply abandoned. Also if you buy tickets online you get a 100 yen discount!

The lantern festival was beautiful! There are so many areas to take good photos. We originally went at 3PM but decided to come back at 5:30PM when the lanterns will be lit up. There are a few snacks and drinks inside. Wear comfortable shoes, by the way!

Be here to experience! We went here 4:30pm it was not crowded. They turn on the lantern lights around 5:30pm, then people started coming in around 6pm. I suggest to go here around 4:30 to see the beauty before it goes dark and to take pictures. But if you are here for lanterns then go when it’s dark. There’s a lot parking spots across the street or at the back of souvenir store.

Do not recommend, the ticket price is foreigners was ¥1800 yen per person and the regular price was ¥600. Not sure the reason why. The lanterns were nice and there was this guys in a Kei van selling coffee that was delicious, But those were about the only good things. All the activities in the park are an additional price and sadly not included in the overall price. Mostly everything was closed and overpriced. You should not go out of your way to see this place as it's not worth it, save your money. Instead spend your money on the Onsen next to it. The onsen is a 10 out 10 recommend.

We went for the lantern show. It was beautiful! There's so much to see and there are even some shows to catch as well.

We visited on a chilly, windy day just to do the indigo dyeing. There is a fee to enter the village. At the indigo dye house, you pay according to the size of project you choose. We had 3 generations, including my 7 year-old granddaughter. The young woman helped us tie our cotton and walked us through the process. A lot of fun!

We went for the lantern festival. Would recommend going for that event if you like taking photos. There are an abundant number of lanterns. Many different settings to take and choose from. We did not get tickets in advance, we did get there as soon as it opened. We did not realize it was the second last day before the end. It did get busier the later in the night. You won't see the lanterns in its full Glory until night time because that's when there is more of a contrast. When we got there, the parking lot was completely empty with plenty of space. By the time we left that we're barely any spots left. Normally I would include photos but since there were other people and faces I did not include it this time.

Disappointing place, low tide and no public transit make this place a no go. The most near bus stop is Yomitan terminal bus stop and from there ~1.5 km away is this beach but there’s no sidewalk or pedestrian road on the last 1km portion and taxis are no where to be found in this remote place. Definitely not recommended if you don’t have a car, the other nearest beach is Nagahama but from the picture you can judge by yourself if it worth’s the effort to go there.

Like that the swim area is enclosed and it has some recreational water activities/beach chairs/umbrellas for 'touristy' prices. Can be a little crowded, especially from opening to midday. Seems to be a popular spot for families.

Nice blue water and white sand. However there is net around where you can swim and the rest is restricted. There’s an inflatable kids obstacle course in the water which is a bit of an eyesore. they have the same playlist replaying 15 odd songs too which was bizarre! not quite what we expected unfortunately.

The sea is wonderful for those want to play some games, the net surrounded make you swim in a restricted area. For me, not recommend for who want to take beautiful pictures on the sea

Thus, my friend and me signed up for a snorkelling tour at the beach shop which would bring us out to sea. It was a bit expensive but fun, with lots of fishes crowding around us and our bread. When we got back, we walked onto the brown wetland that was uncovered by the receded tide and found that it was teeming with life! There were crabs, hermits, tiny starfishes, etc. We even spotted a mantis shrimp, which tried to attack my friend’s camera with a loud crack. Walk only 50-100 meters cross the road to the beach within one munute.

Great place to watch the sunset. A limestone and ground down corals beach as many others on the island. The water is not fenced off but it's not suitable for swimming as it is very shallow. Such a pretty place any time of the day. It's actually an excellent snorkel spot that is overlooked, but that's probably why the corals are still intact and grew to such a large size! Please don't ruin it if you do go snorkeling there!!

Lovely beach. Very low key. Not alot of sand on beach, lots of Coral. But able to find a place to relax. The music pumping through the speakers, made it feel like a resort. Food and drinks within walking distance.
