Hvar is a verdant and peaceful island renowned for its captivating coastlines, charming bays, lush vineyards, and dense woodlands. The locale features an array of picturesque beaches that offer stunning views of the sparkling waters. Additionally, Hvar boasts scenic coves that are ideal for relaxing and soaking in the serene ambiance. Visitors can also explore the thriving vineyards and immaculate forests that dot the landscape, showcasing the natural beauty of this magnificent landmass.
Hvar island is one of the most popular islands in the Adriatic Sea in Croatia. 🇭🇷 And that is for a reason!
I loved strolling around Hvar town and feel the history of the place. You’ll find 13th century city walls, a hilltop fortress, gothic palaces, lovely medieval streets and so many restaurants and bars. ☀️
Stari Grad, located at the other side of the island, is less visited than Hvar town, wich makes it even more charming. There are cute narrow streets, churches, viewpoints and incredible wine tastings. 🧡 Thank you Sail Croatia for showing me around these beautiful islands!

Lovely place to visit. Did this as part of a Day tour of Five Islands from Split. We managed to spend 2.5 hours here to explore and enjoy lunch. Head up main Street and climb the 156 steps for excellent views over the rooftops leading out over the harbour filled with boats and yachts.
Steven Brennan — Google review
As possibly the sunniest and most popular of the coastal islands in Croatia, Hvar makes either an ideal day trip from Split or a 2-3 night mini-break if you wish to explore more of the island and enjoy the vibrant nightlife.
Whether exploring the harbour and old town, climbing to the Spanish Fortress for spectacular views, visiting neighbouring islands by sea kayak, venturing inland to discover vineyards and lavender fields or driving to some of the most secluded coves - there is something for everyone here. And don't forget the great restaurants and beach clubs...
During July and August there are regular ferries from Split run by Jadrolinija, Krilo and TP Line. The journey takes about 1 hour. Ferries are less frequent in May and September and outside of these months a day trip is much harder to organise as sailing are only a couple of times a day and weather dependent.

Beautiful place to visit. We were there in May when it wasn't too busy.
Walking around the streets and alleyways just off the port area is very rewarding.
The fort overlooking the town is well worth the taxi ride up (or walk of you're feeling fit!)

Highly reccomend for 3 nights / 4 days. I highly recommend you do NOT waste your money going to Carpe Diem beach club. It's the biggest rip off on the island
Try all the difference beaches and water spots. Rent a car or buggy for a few hours ( only go early morning or evening it's too do )
Rent a speedboat or go for a boat cruise

What a mesmerizing beauty this island has! Clean, pristine waters, blue colored sky up and blue colored water I mean seriously felt like it's all edited but no. You need to visit this to experience it. One of the best Island in Europe.

I love Hvar, the sea, beaches, food, weather and even people are pretty good! To get real authentic meals you kind of have to look past the touristy area. Bol is also beautiful, the water in Hvar and Bol (and pretty much everywhere is gorgeous). Best to rent car and drive up and down the coast. Try out "Sail Week" trips! June-September. Very cool! see lots of different islands! Meets some cool people.

we did a hike up to the fortress and walked back down. We also walked around the town in the direction of the beach where we visited a bar l which was really nice. I reccomend taking loads of water as the hike has loads of steps

Really a nice and beautiful place to go!
Check the ferry options and schedules before deciding: they’re three companies available- prices differs depending on the time.transfer takes around 1 hour.
The city has a mixed of historical places, nice restaurants/bar and beach clubs.
Also some awesome landscapes if you move a little far from downtown and walk to peaceful beaches nearby.

Beautiful island with so many interesting places to see. One can book a stay in the resorts here and enjoy the night life.
The view from the fort is breathtaking.
There is an emergency medical facility also available on this island. People here are too generous.
There are vast fields of lavender, ancient olive trees and vineyards, in immaculate harmony between man and nature.
There are wine and olives, so a guest wishing to get closer to nature will stop at a small inn (Hvar "konoba") rather than a top quality restaurant.
He will taste real home-made wine instead of some famous sparkling wine, he will sing the old island songs and forget the monotony of the everyday routine.
Every guest is really a Guest here.
Whatever you are looking for on your vacation, you may find it here; night life and cultural attractions of cosmopolitan Hvar town, boat excursions to Pakleni Islands, sandy beaches near Jelsa, the ancient town Stari Grad in which past centuries mingle with modern tourist facilities,
heavenly beaches under pine trees in Zavala, exotic atmosphere of south cliffs in Ivan Dolac, Sveta Nedjelja or MIlna, the "little Venice" ambient in Vrboska, drive trough and sense lavander fields near Zastrazisce, Gdinj and Bogomolje, peaceful secluded bays near Sucuraj ... this is just a fraction of it ... you need to explore it.
Due to its mild climate, the scent of lavender and other aromatic herbs which fills the air, the island of Hvar has been known as a health resort since 1868.
Besides health benefits and natural beauties, the city of Hvar is famous for its cultural heritage. The biggest main square in Dalmatia (an area of 4500m2), with many renaissance and baroque palaces, dominates the city which is surrounded by fortification walls dating from the 7th century.
Therefore, it is no wonder "The Traveller" has given the island of Hvar not only the flattering but also well deserved title of being one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in the world.

For hikers, Plitvice Lakes National Park offers a variety of trails that wind through alpine forests and meadows, past sparkling lakes and waterfalls. The park also contains 16 freshwater lakes that are popular for rafting and kayaking. The park was the site of armed confrontation during Croatia's war of independence in the early 1990s, but has since been renovated as a source of economic wealth for the region. Today, visitors can explore hiking trails and enjoy beautiful natural scenery.
One of the most majestic places I have visited in my life, the winter landscape is beautiful, as well as the paths to walk for hours with a different landscape every 3 meters.
The waterfalls are incredible and it is a super good space to go with pets and be there for at least 3 or 4 hours touring the place.
The staff was very friendly

This is without a doubt the best place I have ever been. Nature is wonderful, here you can see its pure beauty. The place is fantastic, the staff is helpful, there are small restaurants, gift shops, restrooms in the park. The boat fee is included in the entrance fee. I recommend route C, which is not challenging, the total distance is eight kilometers, with a negligible elevation gain. Cool buses will take you back to the main entrance at the end of the visit. 5*
Bal?zs Gr?f — Google review
The lakes were simply fantastic, the price is worth the visit, but I recommend mixing up the paths. We were there when the park opened, after the tour and going back to the entrance area we were very glad we went at 7 am.. the place was crowded.. a lot of tourists really. I recommend going as early as you can, if you want to visit calmly and are not too fond of crowds.
Marina Perin — Google review
Absolutely Stunning creation of Nature!! The hike is beautiful and offers wonderful views. The park has 2 entrances and both entrances have 4 routes to choose from. We entered from entrance 2 and did route H which is quite similar to route C from entrance 1, it is almost 9kms and requires 4 - 6 hours. In the peak season, a ticket costs 40 Euro for an adult and it’s better to buy tickets in advance. Ticket price includes the bus and boat ride.
Trail is well maintained and has clear directions as per routes. It was a bit crowded due to summer vacation, so try going as early as possible in the morning.
Wear comfortable shoes, hiking shoes are recommended though. Carry enough water and some snacks, though you can also buy inside the park.
Definitely worth a visit!!

A very very beautiful national park. Worth visiting.
Better to go early in the morning or afternoon to see the water color as aqua blue/green. By evening since the sun starts setting in the west, it won't reflect on water and may miss the beauty of this magical place.
Trek route C or H is best as it covers both lower and upper lakes. There are beautiful waterfalls in the upper lakes. It will take a minimum of 6 hrs to cover this route.
Ak — Google review
It had poured down rain all night and morning, so I delayed entering the park until late morning. The guide suggested which trails to take for a good half-day excursion. I really don't think you can go wrong. So beautiful!

From the desk where you buy tickets through the park and back to the souvenir shop - great experience. Kind staff, positive energy.
All accommodation that is in the park is exquisite and great for welcoming guests for years to come.
Nature is splendid and breathtaking. We have treasure that we must preserve.
I'm always happy to come back here.

I can imagine it gets crowded in the summer but on a rainy day in April is was empty, calm, misty and incredibly beautiful. The park itself is intelligently set up, with well-maintained paths and platforms that swirl in-between and right up to the waterfalls without clashing with the landscape. In fact, the park seems to be a model of how to organize such a site in ways which make it ecologically responsible, easily accessible for a lot of people, with well thought out branching paths, sufficient rest stops that are discreetly integrated in the setting and plenty of (silent) boats/shuttles.

It is a beautiful natural park. The views are just amazing! It has very colourful landscapes and lakes. It is definitely worth the visit and to spare a lot of time. Unfortunately I did not had the opportunity to camp for a longer time but now have seeing what I have there, I’d definitely think about staying more time in a next opportunity. I went as couple and during summer which is allegedly the best time to see the crystals on the water reflected by the sunlight.
Emerson Franco — Google review
Beautiful national park. There is a bus that goes directly from Zagreb to the park, it takes approximate 2hrs and 15 minutes . I strongly recommend to purchase the tickets online in advance. It is good to spend at least 6 hours walking around.
Vilma Vega — Google review
Wonderful park. We were lucky to find an amazing sunny weather after the heavy rain of the days before. I suggest to follow the H path from entrance 2. Come early in the morning (we enter at 9am) to fully enjoy the experience without annoying crowd.
Samuele De Gaetano — Google review
Spectacular! The park and the lakes are the Moseley amazing lakes I've ever seen. The color is unreal, the waterfall are stunning. The park is crowded, even early in the morning but very organized. Attention that you also need to pay for parking separately.
Yuval Mohl — Google review
Beautiful. There are several hike options but it can get very busy during the holiday season, even in early September. The trails are quite narrow and you could get held up if one person stops to take pictures.
The cafeterias within the National Park do not offer much choice, especially if you are a vegetarian.
Gopika Avanoor — Google review
I’d like to give this place 5 stars just based off its incredible beauty. But, the park has a bit of a bad design for being able to see it without being overcrowded, which the design and setup of the park causes. There’s basically one narrow boardwalk through the various levels of the lakes, which have no railing. So you really can’t stop anywhere and just take in the view or get pictures that aren’t horribly rushed. They also have a ferry system that appears to be badly overwhelmed with extremely long lines (we didn’t take it because of those lines). Other than that, this park is absolutely gorgeous. Crystal clear blue/green/turquoise waters everywhere. Many waterfalls and overflows and lush green trees. Just absolutely picturesque. But other than that boardwalk, there’s not really much else to see or do, no other trails or anything. There is also timed entry, so either purchase tickets beforehand, or be prepared to wait until the next time available. All in all, if you’re in Croatia, you should definitely go check out this park. Crowds notwithstanding, it’s still a pretty cool place and extremely beautiful.

This is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. We went here at winter time and the price for the entry was only 10 euro per person, kinds were free since they were 5 and 6. The beauty of the lake and waterfalls can not be described with words. We are looking forward to see it in all season.

The best, must-visit spot of Croatia. The landscapes this park offers are breathtaking. I recommend trail C, and if you have plenty of time, K seems like a great choice too.
Gyuvin K. — Google review
One of the most beautiful places on the earth!! Definitely recommended to take the maximum possible route. We took route C and 20k steps were worth it. Check the weather forecast before planning the visit. But it surely will be beautiful in all the seasons.

Wonderful place for hikes and be in oneness with mother earth. Unbelievably serene and mind-blowing.
Upper lakes are less crowded and quiet while the lower ones are thriving with tourists. Plan your day and start early to enjoy the serenity of the park.
Raghunath N — Google review
I split the trip into two days - one day for the upper and one for the lower lakes. I highly recommend splitting it up. I also did the end of day and early day to avoid the crowds which was perfect. This is truly a magical place with just breathtaking scenery.
H. Rai — Google review
The most beautiful part is the first lake plus the overview of the waterfalls. The rest of the park is nice but for what it is, it's overpriced and overcrowded.
A lot of people are happy with just seeing the waterfalls so they could separate hikers from sightseers to fix some of the overcrowding.
David Oskarsson — Google review
This is one of those place that you must visit in Europe. The colour of lakes is just magical. You can choose 5 trails on different difficulty level and distance. You can go there with kids but I think that it could be dificult with stroller. On trails you can use a boat or buses (on some stages). There are a lot of stops with toilets and even fast food. On the stop next to the boats there is tap with a water that you can pour to bottle. From the cons: huge crowd. The amount of people is crazy there. The price - 40EUR per person - very expensive. Moreover you must pay for parking, too. It is not included in the ticket price to lakes. You must buy ticket in advance, tickets are sold for particular hours.
Agaatje Toffi — Google review
A must go if you're in Croatia. Pick the longest route, it's not a difficult stroll. There is a boat ride in the middle, but it is very smooth and relaxing. Experiencing the layers of this beautiful green-blue park is definitely and experience you won't forget. The longest route could take up to 6 hours, but if you're not taking your time you can easily complete it in 4 hours.
K L — Google review
This place is absolutely breathtaking! You need good shoes if you want to enjoy the longest route (K). I really recommend to start early in the morning because the park is extra full after 11!
You at least need to see this place once because it is ….spectacular!!!!!

Amazing landscape. A few hours drive out of Zagreb and worth the effort. To truly appreciate this national park, you should spend one or 2 nights to complete the longer hikes. Hiking routes are well sign posted. Park entry is €10 per person.
Highly recommended

We bought tickets online and all went perfectly even if it was crowded but still I really like walking and enjoying nature and taking pictures.
Everyone should visit Plitivice at least once in life. It's one of the most beautiful National Parks I have ever seen.
I will visit again.

Loved my visit to this national park with its lakes, waterfalls and woodland hills.
Free parking at this time of the year (early march) for my motorhome. The facilities are great for coffee and food. There is a boat ride or you can walk, I took the boat but walked back. The sun was out so made the scenery extra special. The lakes and various waterfalls are impressive. There are nice pathways and clear signs. Everything was brilliant, highly recommend. I will be back.

A must visit paradise in Croatia and one could easily get lost for half a day to a couple of days depending on the interest. At least half a day in a rush to get a taste of paradise is a must.
There are 2 entrances with a good number of parking places which seemed not crowded during October maybe in season it could be packed. Entrance tickets and parking was way below what I expected for this gem of nature. During the season it is a different price but worth paying. I do not understand why some reviewers complain about the price when it is so much of a treasure.
Overall the park is well maintained with good hiking trails, clean restrooms and good cafes and restaurants.
The park can get crowded but as a sensible tourist one has to plan and not blame the crowds on the park. The boardwalks can be packed with tourists hanging to take pics and not respecting others, just be mindful of this crowd
We parked at the first entrance and did the long trail - K which includes the boat ride and option to take the shuttle back to the parking lot. The trail starts off at the lower lakes with views of the amazing waterfalls before heading through the various trails, boardwalks and then the upper lakes.
If time permits I would recommend adding another trail to enjoy more of the views.
Near entrance 1 there is a really good restaurant for an amazing lunch or dinner. The day we visited it was not crowded and we were able to enjoy a peaceful lunch.
Overall a must visit park for all seasons.
Pradeep Ponnuswamy — Google review
Most beautiful waterfalls I have seen anywhere. Absolutely stunning. We did the full loop over the lower and upper lakes and it was about 12 miles. It took us 5 or so hours total with a stop for lunch.
We did this in March so the crowds were easy to handle. Particularly away from the two different entrances.
Diego Salas — Google review
Magical place. Makes you stop in owe and wonder.
The trick is to visit in low season (we went in April) and arrive early (we took the first boat from entrance 2 @8.30 and were the only people on it!). Then as we walked there was almost no one there and so it felt as if we had the whole park to ourselves.
Marta Walters — Google review
The park is amazing. Well worth the trip even in the off season. We visited in late March and there was hardly anyone here. The park was really beautiful, even though the trees had not leafed out yet. We spent two days in the park and we were glad we had the second day.
Corey Reimer — Google review
Definitively over crowded (also in March) but a must-see when in Croatia! The upper lakes are more beautiful than the lower ones, so pay attention when they are accessible as they are closed in winter. Alltogether something for your bucket list like the Grand Canyon or the Eiffel Tower.

Nice cute beach! I took a dirt road because google advised me to do so. It was a rocky road so would not recommend it if you don’t have a four-wheel drive. Apparently there is also a normal road going there so that one I took to go back up. Parking is 30 kn and a wooden beach bed is 100kn per two beds. I was alone so paid half. You can’t order drinks at the beach but you can buy it at the restaurants/bars 10 meters from the beach and drink it from your beach bed. Would like to go back here.
Carlotta Westra van Holthe — Google review
Use roadsigns not navigation to get to the beach, navigation is longer and the road is mostly gravel. Parking is paid, and so are the deck chairs. There is a bar above the beach. The shower is not available on the beach. Other than that the beach itself is a pure gem.
Mirko Gabelica — Google review
We were here in mid May and it was still blissfully quiet, not yet inundated by tourists. The water was blue and crystal clear, and while it took a couple of minutes to adjust, the temperature was not too cold. It’s a lovely beach composed of rocks, pebbles, and sand.

The place was amazing, one of the better pebble beaches I've been to. Pristine! Be care driving down as the road only fits one car. Don't drive fast!
John Topler — Google review
Beautiful beach, fantastic personnel and relatively realistic prices, you'd be able to drink twice as much compared to other tourist destinations, especially Croatian islands which love to overprice anything there is to sell.
Only downsides would be road quality, which is quite shabby, and parking isn't the best but considering the prices it is not to be complained about.
9/10 experience, will definitely visit again!

Beautiful and spacious beach. The views are stunning here. Way above the beach where the main road is you can see monumental rocky hills so be careful as you descend steeply down to this beach. The sea is clear but deep. Beach suitable for swimmers and kids also. Not a lot of natural shade.

Instagram beach, absolutely beautiful but when you get close it's not all that.
Too much Trash; plastic bottles, plastic bags, cigarette butts, styrofoam, the water is not clear and there is small plastics in the water.
Parking they've just slapped on 30kn into the sign and collect cash only at the entrance, park before the sign and walk down for free. Cash only at the bar too
Don't turn where Google says, it's a gravel road, turn at the sign "pupnatska Luka" it's paved

Pupnatska Luka on the island of Korčula is a true hidden gem of the Adriatic. In this idyllic bay, nature is encountered in its purest form: a beautiful beach surrounded by crystal clear and transparent waters stretching all the way to the horizon. For those seeking respite from the summer heat, the forest on the side offers shade and a peaceful nook to relax with the sound of waves. What makes this beach special is its tranquility and serenity, far from the city hustle. It's also ideal for families with children, where they can enjoy a safe and friendly environment. If you're visiting Korčula, Pupnatska Luka is a destination you shouldn't miss. Highly recommended!

The beach is both pebble stone and sand.

Clean sea, amazing view and so nice round pebbles.
Has some shade on their corners of the beach.
Parking is charged by the day and beach deck chairs also (24h from payment), konoba and restaurant is there so you don't have to bring your own food.
I could stay there for days how nice and calm it is. Lots of people come after 12h so it is more busy in the afternoon than in the morning.

This beach is such a special find! We took our hired moped down here. 18€ for sun beds but equally as nice to sit on the beach!

One of the crowded beaches on Korcula, however still worth visiting at least once as it is beautiful and the water is clean. You can grab a chilled drink from the local bar and have some food as well. The only minus is the cleanliness of the surrounding areas, guess this comes from the eastern european culture leaving a mess anywhere possible so it is a task for local authorities not only collect money for parking but start collecting some fines from people leaving s... behind.

Perfect beach with facilities in a beautiful bay surrounded with pine forest.. When in main season recommend to start early as obviously gets crowded. 2 sunbeds with ubmrella for 25 eur a day seems fair price for me.. From 1st september price dropped to 20e. What a place to relax!
The Korcula Town Museum is a small 16th-century Renaissance palace which showcases exhibits on the history and culture of Korcula. The museum features an impressive collection of amphoras, photographs from the 1930s and 1950s, and other historical artifacts that have been arranged in chronological order. Visitors can explore the rich history of Korcula for a modest entrance fee of only 20kn.
Really good and modern museum occupying 5 floors. EUR6 entrance fee. The basement has the oldest pieces, and it gets more modern history as you climb up. Also a good toilet in the basement, which is handy! I particularly liked the helmet from the 5th or 6th century BC.

Korcula Town Museum is located across the St. Marc Cathedral. The Museum is housed in Gabrieli's palace, built in the 15th and 16th centuries but newly renovated. It consists of 4 floors and shows how life on the island looked before.
I would definitely recommend this place so you can understand the history of Korcula better. My favorite parts of the museum are the 3rd and 4th floor but the other two floors are no less attractive.

We had a wonderful tour and wine tasting here. The staff (especially Ivan who looked after us) were really friendly, explained the wines and olive oil really well and the cheeses were nice too. Definitely recommend!

We ringed the bell around 1 pm and the person who received us just said he was with Other guests and could not receive us. We ask how long for a wine tasting and he for us to come back after 4pm (3 hours ) …

Authentic traditional winery, totaly organic production, in the traditional manner, no fancy yeasts. The wine tastes like it did in the old days when my uncle's made it. Beautiful little winery.

Fantastic family owned business. Had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners. Real pleasure real gem. Local guys. 5 stars

Really lovely place and wonderful wine tasting experience. A brand new place done with good taste. This family owned place is worth visiting, big recommendation. And yes, wine is also excellent. We bought two bottles to take home.

Local brewer with local grown grapes. The wine is smooth and fruitful. There are a couple options. Entry level wine costs 11 euro. And the higher class wine costs around 37 euro. Here also provides full wine tasting tour.
It also sells EU certified organic olive oil.
It is quite interning to take some time off here if driving nearby.

Great local winery, took a tour of the facility and learned a lot about how they make the wines and the grapes of the region. The wines that were included in the tasting were all great. The winery is also organic! They can ship wines to the US as well if you want to send some home!
They also make olive oil which we had heard great things about, but because it’s so good they were sold out for the season! If you stop in and they have it, make sure to try it!

We had an interesting tour in the cellar before the tasting, our guide was very entertaining and knowledgeable. Their Plavac Mali wines are very elegant with silky tannins, different from the usually over-oaked Croatian reds. The standard 4 year old Plavac is a bargain!
Magne Tuseth — Google review
We did the basic tasting. All of the 3 wines were very good. The vineyards were nice and they had a very good staff. I would recommend if you have time to visit, besides it offers a very calm atmosphere.
Daniela Padilla — Google review
Very good explanation of how local wine is made from Plavac Mali grapes. Did a premium tasting and were less pleased with the results. These are not lightweight wines at all. On a blind tasting the white comes out like a red! The reds are super powerful. The mid age is 10 yrs old. The oldest is 20 yrs old. I don't have that kind of time any more. All organic wine processing.

Josip and his family are incredible! I would go back in a heartbeat. This vineyard is organic, incredible wine and so hospitable. We absolutely adore this place and want to come back.

I enjoyed a wine tasting and tour at this winery. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. I probably found the best Rose here. I had to order a half dozen cases shipped to my home in TX.

Wonderful place with a very pleasant service. The wine is really good and the tasting is affordable. If you are waiting for the ferry and you don’t know what to do I recommend you to try this winery ( the oil is also amazing )
Airy rooms & apartments in a refined hotel featuring a restaurant, a cocktail bar & beach access.
The hotel is nice the nearest to Zlatni Rat Beach, the people at the reception are amazing very helpful and the breakfast was perfect ❤️

Well this hotel is disappointing for me. The first reason is, we took it for a jacuzzi and the water was cold. I asked to fix that, they did but didn't tell me how. Next morning again cold water. so for us jacuzzi was useless. The room was big clean nice but it smelled like sewage. At first I thought it might be from the bathroom, but no. the whole room smelled very bad. the sound insulation is very bad. the first night I couldn't sleep because of the music from below and the second night we heard the neighbors in a very unpleasant act. Service was good. Breakfast was good and the location perfect but I do not have wish to be back.and this is not a resort. We went on the third day to the next resort for the same price for all inclusive and much more.

Horrible..
We chose this hotel because of its location, here the advantages of it end..
It is a 3 star hotel, I understand that, but it doesn't mean that it can be filthy. Ripped sheets, dirt in the bathroom, shower drain is stuck, air conditioner is noisy as many comments below say.
I was ashamed because I brought my family for their vacation there. So we had two rooms. And this is for the price they ask.
Barbara Kristie — Google review
Great location and great rooms. I think they were just updated so everything was fresh and clean. Service was ok parking is a bit of a mess having to call then drive down a walking path and pay extra 20€. Dinner was great and service was ok. Gin station with fresh cookies was a nice touch. Cleaning lady was awesome and insisted on changing our towels. We liked that walking path forward Bol had many options to stop in for drinks and food and beach was awesome. Not hotel fault but it’s way too commercialized.
Srdjan Bunjevac — Google review
Visited the beach restaurant as a group of 5. The pasta and fries were good, so was the presentation. They could be more generous with the amount of carbonara, not gonna lie.
Everything else on the menu was obviously frozen food. Definitely avoid the burgers though, unless you like SPAM for your “meat”patty and dry bread to soak up the massive amount of oil.
David Barczi — Google review
Very disappointing, other than the good location of the hotel near the beach. I'll give you a brief review.
When entering the hotel, when going by car, you have to call the receptionist of a 4-star hotel to open the gate for you. The receptionist does not pick up the phone though so you do have to walk yourself to the hotel and then back to the gate (Half a km). The same goes for departure.
Another problem when going by car is that you have to pay for the parking - 20 euros per day.
You will be given one key - which can be taken by only one person...
The apartments are indeed good looking, fresh but damp for some reason.
The clearing service - rude.
Breakfast - everything cold: chicken nuggets/ fries and pizza (for breakfast?? probably left over from the day before).
The hotel includes a restaurant. Terrible food! With the new owner of the hotel, the food has become gross. The meals that we ordered, many times, were given fully back, and our money was spent rather at a different place. The prices are very high - so why such a bad quality?
A 4-star hotel should have it's swimming pool. We were upset when we were disgustingly kicked out, without being informed, that It was a private pool - a couple of years ago the same swimming pool was a part of the hotel.
...and all of this for such a high price?
Simona Vrlová — Google review
Service, location and breakfast are great!
The breakfast has vegetarian and vegan options like almond milk and fresh fruit.
The hotel is not a resort as the title says. It is a room you rent to stay close to the beach. Nothing else. We stayed 1 night and parked the car in the private hotel parking. By check out we found out we needed to pay the parking (€20) even when you are a guest of the hotel?? We already stayed in a lot of resorts around the world and never did we have to pay an hotel parking. Very dissapointed about this so called resort with no services of a resort.

Very nice place and the people at the reception where amazing and super nice. Breakfast was also super good. Didn't give this place a 5 star because of the high price.

This is a very nice hotel, I am giving a good review because of the location, cleanliness and the friendly staff. Everyone from the reception desk, housekeeping to the waiters was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The gorgeous beach is a minute away and everything is nearby / within walking distance. There is a nice alley perfect for a walk to the city right below the hotel. I highly recommend this place and will definitely stay again.
Aida B. — Google review
DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL - THE WORST HOTEL EVER! We booked through Booking and in the end they charged us a much higher price. The people at the front desk could not speak English well so they could not explain the situation to us. The breakfast was terrible, the restaurant smelled bad. The presentation of the food looked bad and very few options. The hotel restaurant is right next to a public pedestrian street so it is very busy, that’s the only street that takes you to the beach. The only view the hotel has of the Zlatni Rat is poor because of the trees and it is the same view that anyone passing through the pedestrian street can see. The only positive thing is that the rooms are new, although when we entered they had a welcome fruit bowl full of ants.
Susana Moreno — Google review
Great location and that's about it. The bed mattresses and pillows are very poor quality, probably the cheapest type.
AC blowing right towards the beds which is not very comfortable.
The breakfast is not in line with the prices the hotel is charging for the night 331 eur; poor food choices and food quality same as in a ordinary cheap hotel.
Vidova Gora, the highest point on the Adriatic Islands at 778m, offers breathtaking views of Hvar island as well as Vis and the mountains of Peljesac Peninsula and Biokovo. The peak can be accessed either by a sealed road through a pine forest or by hiking/biking from Bol. While it may require some physical exertion to reach its summit, the stunning landscapes make it worth an effort in both cases.
If you go to the island of Brac, visiting Vidova Gora is a must. The road leading there is charming in itself, but the view from the summit is particularly breathtaking. Just imagine: hundreds of meters below you. Below your feet lies Bol and Zlatni Rat, with the unique sight of the island of Hvar in the background.
If you enjoy driving, the serpentine road starting from Nerezisca is especially enjoyable. Along the way, there is a parking lot and a junction leading to the Blaca Monastery. If you plan to descend, especially with children, bring water and food with you!
Zoltan Rozgonyi — Google review
One of the main reasons we chose to visit Brač was to spend the good part of a day climbing Vidova Gora.
It’s the highest point in the Adriatic and while it’s only 2,552 ft. Its 2,599 ft. prominence (height relative to the rest of the terrain) affords some remarkable views of Zlatni Rat, Bol, Hvar, and so much of the Adriatic Sea.
We hiked directly from our hotel (Lifestyle Vitar) to the top and back for a 6.5 mile loop. We’re both pretty seasoned hikers but this definitely wasn’t the simplest of vacation hikes.
Totally doable but bring a decent bit of water for the summer months and wear sturdy footwear/take your time coming down as there’s a lot of loose gravel.
Really beautiful views from halfway up and you’re hiking along with pasture goats which was a unique experience.
If you’re not into the hike, you’re able to drive up decently close to the summit and walk from there.
Picnic tables at the top to enjoy a meal and take a breather. Highly recommended and one of our favorite parts of our trip to Croatia.

An absolute must while on the island. When you get to where it tells you that you have arrived, you can park and get photos, walk, and get a drink/snack. You can also continue to drive up or walk to other viewing points and so worth the visit. Its incredible
Eleanor Dwyer — Google review
One of the most beautiful places on the Dalmatian coast: the views are simply stunning, as you get to grasp Bol, all the Dalmatian islands from the Bays of Hvar to Korcula, Peljesac, Vis, Bisevo, Lastovo and even Mljet on a clear day while also having the background of the Biokovo mountains to the East. They say that you can see Italy on a very clear day but coming there every year for 30 years I havent been able to do so, so maybe this is more of a myth.
Hints: While the view from the parking grounds are stunning in itself it is worth walking up a few minutes to the antenna station as you get views to Vis and the Western part of Hvar as well.
The walk from Bol is fine on a cool day but you might feel frustrated when you arrive at a parking lot after walking for hours.
Go on a clear day! The best days are when a little Bora wind is blowing and clearing up the haze. On hazy days you might just be able to see Bol and parts of Hvar. Go in the early morning or evening for nice lighting.
The restaurant on top has been closed for a while but as of September 2019 there is a friendly little kiosk with drinks at the parking lot.
The road from the main road is quite narrow but there is ample space to evade crossing cars. It is easily doable for every type of car. Just dont drive too fast and enjoy the beautiful forrest all around.

Amazing views! Place for connecting with Nature. There is small cafe with coffe, water, icecream. You can pay by card.
Irina Säde — Google review
The pace is gorgeous. It has beautiful flora, huge forest and it is the highest point on Brač and even the highest point among Croatian islands. You must visit the place and enjoy the peace and beauty of this magnificant nature. At the top the site is beautiful and magnificant. It has a wide view to the see and the islands. See you there.

We had a nice cycling-trip from pastura to the top of the mountain and enjoyed the beautiful landscapes and the impressive view very much...even it was hard to "climb the peak using a bicycle and just our "own" power...
Matthias Fichtner — Google review
This peak was one of the major reasons why we choose to take the car with the ferry, as it is quite a long and steep drive to the peak. We saw people cycling, but surely they were suffering a lot.
The views are phenomenal, and you can clearly see Bol from here and its insanely clean water.
There is a shop where you can buy ice cream or drinks from.
Definitely include this when in Brac!
Stephen — Google review
Absolutely amazing, a must-see when on Brač. Beautiful views of the mainland, Hvar Island, and of course, the Bol's famous beach The Golden Horn...
KK — Google review
The views during the climb up were beautiful, but my arachnophobia did not allow me to continue the way up and we had to go back. I do not recommend a trip in the early evening when the spiders are active. I knew they would be somewhere, but I didn't expect to have a two-meter web with a huge spider above my head. I think these views would frighten even the fearless.

Tucepi beach it truly beautiful. It sparkles on sunny days and has a stunning glow as the sun sets.
The clear sea is gorgeous and calm to swim in. We enjoyed sitting on the shore and swimming in the sea.
We enjoyed the walk past day or night.
It's a great little beach with lots of watersports and excursions going on! So you can relax or find something adventurous to do!
Just a tip- if you have your own sea shoes, BRING THEM! The stones are very painful on your feet. But if you don't own any, don't worry, the shops along the promenade all sell them!

Great beach, little bit of everything. It's in a little bay, so water is extra calm. Clean, with big rocks. Lots of natural shade as well. Few cafes here and there. There's also a dog beach here, so it's super nice for all furry lovers as well.

Crystal clear sea, gorgeous beaches, fabulous little town near Makarska
Historic city harbor & busy port with a rugged backdrop on a peninsula known for grain & salt trade.
I love walking in the harbor, looking at the boats and sea. And this place fulfilled it. The harbor is clean and sometimes full of people on the promenade.

Kravica Waterfall National Reserve is a popular attraction with stunning waterfalls and nearby amenities. There is an entrance fee, but it's worth the cost to spend time sunbathing, enjoying a picnic or sitting in a cafe. The area has rocky coastlines and swift water currents, so special shoes are recommended for swimming. Visitors can take great walks and capture picturesque photos of the breathtaking scenery.
Paid entrance.
But the park is worth the money.
It is better to spend more time here, sunbathe, sit in a cafe or have a picnic. But be careful, the water speed is high and the coast is rocky, take special shoes with you if you plan to swim.
Great place for walking and picturesque photos.

We visited these waterfalls now in July 2022. I can say that the place is more beautiful than in photos. The entrance can be payed by credit card. When arriving near the waterfalls we payed for the boat trip (60 euros for 4 persons). It is worth the money. It is 50 minutes and you can enjoy the landscape, the birds, the fishes and the specific plants that grow there. I recommend to everyone this place.

This is the most beautiful waterfall I've ever been too. It was so refreshing on a hot sunny day to get the lovely mist from the waterfall. The drinks available here were nice too.

The place is amazing. It is fantastic to be allowed to take a bath there, and there are many routes and paths. There is also a turistic train, you can rent sunbeds and towels, there are restaurants and bars, so the place is completely for tourists, beautiful, but crowded even in September as the temperature is about 34 degrees.
Luis Vidal — Google review
Beautiful waterfalls but not worth the extortionate price of €10. I don't see why the cost is this much. It's a natural feature. Tourist trap, perhaps?
We stopped off here on our tour and only had an hour. The water was cold, and if I had more time, I probably would have gone in for a dip. 1 hour wasn't long enough for more than a toe touch.
The falls are beautiful. It's surrounded by trees. It's more of a nature walk than somewhere you can sit and picnic. Again, I don't see how they justify the entrance fees.
There is currently building works in progress on the lower level, someone giving rides in a small boats, toilets at the top, and a small cafe that doesn't even sell 6 They only accept Convertible Mark (km) in Mostar. Conversion 2km = €1 yet here they only accepted Euros.

Very scenic waterfall in southern Bosnia , 2hrs drive from Dubronik. Cascade of waterfalls, 7 to 8 streams about 25 metres and 120 metres wide . Fee for adults/ children. You can see family's enjoying, many swimming around. Cars can be taken too. Absolute beautiful , breadth taking views turquoise green water, nature at its best. A must visit , while visiting the Balankan area. A pure Mediterranean natural wonder.

Pretty awesome place. The views are very nice. Its a good place to stop while on a road trip or just passing by. Its a good place for families to go. Kids under 18 enter free! Its 10 euros for adults to enter. There are a few restaurants next to the waterfall.

Boasting a stunning view that attracts crowds, this location is perfect for family visits. A mere 5-10 minute downhill walk will lead you there, and the path is quite accessible for both elders and young children. Despite temperatures reaching up to 33 degrees, the water remains delightfully crisp. For those seeking a refreshing dip, it's absolutely perfect!
Boat rentals are conveniently available, providing an exciting opportunity to get up close with the waterfalls. A selection of bars ensures you can quench your thirst, while comfortably lounging on beach chairs. Moreover, restrooms are available, adding to the overall convenience.
Whether you're seeking a bit of adventure or simply a place to relax, this location has a lot to offer. You'll certainly appreciate the natural beauty and well-thought-out amenities.

We visited the waterfall on a day tour from Split and highly recommend doing so of you're either in Split or Dubrovnik and it's really time well spent! Compared to other waterfalls or national parks in Croatia here you can actually swim in the water which is a great plus. The waterfalls are beautiful and a must see. Would come back for sure!

A place worth visiting if in the area. The tickets were 10.30 euro per person, we have payed by a card. The toilets are located just after the tickets office. Parking is spacious and free.
You can admire the beautiful waterfalls while laying down on the bathing beach, so it's worth staying there for a few hours. There are a few places to eat, but you can only pay with cash so be prepared. Word of advice, if you're tempted to buy alcohol from the guy mid way to the waterfalls - don't. The same products are at least 5 e cheaper by the parking.

Small multi waterfalls in the old Roman road. You can swim in it too. Reportedly the water was very cold. You had to walk down from the parking lot perhaps 100 meters because it is in a valley in Bosnia Herzegovina. The walk is convenient and delightful.

Wow has this place improved and got a life in the past 10 years. We were there when they only had 1 little hut thing to get drinks and you could still just off the cliffs near the falls. More restaurants now, but the cliffs and close to them has been closed off, so no longer possible. Amazing clean and fresh water!

Stunning waterfalls a short walk (down approx 100-200 steps) from the car park. It's filled with tourists, but this didn't diminish the experience. There are bars all around the edge of the waterfall plunge pool but they are relatively well priced. A very enjoyable freshwater swim will take you right up close to the bottom of the falls. On the far side from you where you come in there is a sandy shallow area where you can paddle. Well worth a visit. 10 eur entry pp, parking free.

Beautiful place :-) Down at the waterfall is a flat river where u can swim (it is cold and a bit fast so be careful!). The view is beuatiful and the sounds of waterfalls are out of world.

The beach is spectacular and really-really beautiful. Its a nice pebble beach, the water deepens fast. Good place for snoorkering, near the famous rock there are lot of fish to see. If you are not staying here prepare to come early and pay a lot for parking (if you manage to find one) We’ve arrived at 9am and found probably one of the last parking spaces. Parking price in the bottom-near the beach is 20kn/hour, we stayed 9 hours and payed 180kn. No max price, pretty expensive. There is a parking lot a bit more up, there you can park for 100kn/day. Its around 4-5 mins extra walk, if we would visit again I would definitely park there. Other then that the place is superb! Also if you come early you can secure a great spot, it’ll get crowded around 10-11am. There are 3-4 places to eat, so thats pretty good. Also you can rent a jetski/sup if you would like.

The deck is located on the 16th floor at the very top of the building, and provides an amazing view of everything that is happening in Zagreb below.
This is probably one of the must see places in Zagreb. It is realy a great place to see the city and to get a great photos of Zagreb from above. Lovely place to relax with a drink in bar. Ticket prices very reasonable 60Kn. Definitely recommended.

This is situated just off the Joseph Jelacic Square, through some sliding glass doors. We'd seen the observation deck in Bratislava but this couldn't have been more different - the girl in Bratislava couldn't even be bothered to look up from filing her nails as she took our money and indicated the vague direction of the lifts. The girls in Zagreb were very helpful and pleasant as they explained that the ticket (€4?) lasted all day so we could return at any time. We walked around the ledge, very carefully taking pictures, before sitting inside and having a coffee. Two coffee here cost about half the UK cost.
We returned in the evening and took some more photos and had coffee again. It would have been nice to eat too but we were on a sightseeing mission!

The Zagreb 360 Tower is a really nice viewpoint in Zagreb Downtown. You can look far away over the whole city. The price is a little bit expensive but all in all okay. The elevator is really fast and it’s a pleasant ride. At the top is a bar where you can buy drinks and other stuff. The personal is very very nice and friendly. You can see the sights of Zagreb from the top of the building.
This is a very nice place to visit in Zagreb, I can recommend it!

Very nice. A bit expensive for the view. Nice and relaxing though and a bit cooler than the Croatian streets in summer. Nice to reminisce about where you have explored in Zagreb. Maybe keep it for last

I go to high viewpoints in all the cities I visit to get a bird's eye view and do photography. This one ranks among one of the very best: there is no glass in the way meaning no bad reflections, there are bars but any lens or cell phone will easily fit through. There is a flat ledge so you can take night photos without a tripod. There is a 320 degree or so accessibility meaning you can see everything. Location is central meaning you see all key landmarks of Zagreb. The price is excellent for the facilities you get, and your entry fee counts for the whole day meaning you can go back at any time, even in the evening. Best of all the staff there from the reception at the bottom to those on top were extremely pleasant and helpful. They have a bar, facilities and lots of seating space on top. I was there on a Monday afternoon and it was empty.

Great place to get a bird's eye view of the old town. Especially spectacular view in the night with the lightings on the monuments. Also, you can enjoy a cold beer /hot coffee at the cafe in the observation deck

Great view 👌 phenomenal idea, I was blown away by the view and the general place, nice idea with a cafe-restaurant, good service, interesting things but those bars were so dense that they spoiled the impression a little, totally unnecessary to put everywhere, they needed at least one part to place in glass. But even with that it's great, I definitely recommend it 😊
Sandra Mladenovic — Google review
It's OK, it's an observation deck. They have strangely made a really odd decision to circle the entire deck with steel bars from top to bottom. I guess that's for security but it seems like dramatic overkill. I mean, are that many people trying to hurl themselves over the edge?
However, it is a nice view if you kinda hold out your phone through the bars (super risky frankly but that's what they recommend). The bar/lounge inside is fine. Lots of people rolling dice playing what I assume is some Croatian game. It's OK if you want pics of the city.
J L — Google review
Cool spot, as it is fairly new. However, the team needs to improve the lookout concept. Having bars as part of your photos Is not desirable. Perhaps glass enclosing instead like some lookouts (space needle, CN tower etc.) Makes more sense.

Trg bana Jelačića, Ilica 1a, 10000, Zagreb, Croatia
The Cathedral of Zagreb, Croatia was built in the late 13th century and is a significant example of Gothic architecture. The cathedral suffered damage from an earthquake in 1880 but has since been reconstructed using original designs. It is considered one of the most beautiful churches in Central Europe and is a popular tourist destination.
Gorgeous church!
Unfortunately still under restoration and no entry allowed.
The outside is really beautiful
Don’t miss the clock on the wall to the left of the church

The cathedral is very nice and absolutely worth visiting. At the moment they are restoring many things (because of an earthquake damage 2 years ago I think) and that’s why you can’t go in. The platform in front of the cathedral is nice for pictures and to the city center square it’s not far to walk! Nice place.
Leon Wiemann — Google review
In 1093 when King Ladislaus I of Hungary (1040-1095) moved the bishop's chair from Sisak to Zagreb, he proclaimed the existing church as a cathedral. Construction on the cathedral started shortly after his death and was finished in 1217 and consecrated by king Andrew II of Hungary. The building was destroyed by the Mongols in 1242 but rebuilt by bishop Timothy (1263–1287) a few years later. At the end of the 15th century, the Ottoman Empire invaded Croatia, triggering the construction of fortification walls around the cathedral, some of which are still intact. In the 17th century, a single fortified renaissance watchtower was erected on the south side and was used as a military observation point, because of the Ottoman threat.
The cathedral was severely damaged in the 1880 Zagreb earthquake. The main nave collapsed and the individual tower was damaged beyond repair. The restoration-reconstruction of the cathedral in Neo-Gothic style was led by Hermann Bollé, bringing the cathedral to its present form. As part of that restoration, two spires 104 m (341 ft) high were raised on the western side, both of which are now in the process of being restored as part of an extensive general restoration of the cathedral. Every historical attraction and monument is currently under renovation!!!! Everything is closed!!! Including all cathedrals and museums!!! Really , I cannot understand such a stupid idea of renovating Al the attractions TOGETHER !!!! And why in the full tourism season??!!
Many streets are blocked and it looks awful!
So if you can - avoid arriving here !
Very very disappointing!

The Cathedral of Zagreb, a stunning example of Gothic architecture and a key religious landmark in the city, has a rich history and has faced various challenges over time, including recent renovations following damage from an earthquake.
Historical Background
The Cathedral of Zagreb, often referred to as the “Stepinac Cathedral,” was originally dedicated to St. Stephen King but was later known for the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Velika Gospa). Its transformation into a cathedral coincided with the elevation of the Zagreb Diocese to an archdiocese by Pope Pius IX in 1852. The building has undergone several restorations and modifications throughout its history, adapting and preserving its architectural and historical integrity .
Challenges in Renovation
Following the 2020 earthquake, the Cathedral of Zagreb has faced significant renovation challenges. One of the main issues has been sourcing the appropriate types of stone for restoration. The original construction and subsequent renovations utilized various types of stone, including local limestone, sandstone, and imported Italian travertine. However, restrictions and public perception issues at the original quarry sites have made it difficult to obtain the same types of stone for current restoration efforts. These challenges are part of a larger conversation about preserving cultural memory and heritage in the face of modern constraints .
Current Status
As of the latest updates, the Cathedral of Zagreb was temporarily closed for renovation and repair work. This closure was necessary to ensure the structural integrity and preservation of the Cathedral, especially following the earthquake damage. The ongoing efforts are part of a broader initiative to restore and maintain significant historical and religious buildings in Zagreb and the surrounding regions.
Visitor Experience
Unfortunately, visitors to Zagreb during this period, including January 2024, were unable to enter the Cathedral due to these renovations. Despite this, the Cathedral remains a visually impressive structure and a symbol of Zagreb’s historical and cultural identity. Its towering spires and intricate Gothic details continue to dominate the city’s skyline, offering a glimpse into the past and a promise of future accessibility once the restoration is complete.
Overall Impression
The Cathedral of Zagreb is a testament to the city’s rich history and its commitment to preserving its architectural heritage.
Cláudio Cardona — Google review
An impressive piece of architecture with intricate design. As the cathedral is under major renovations, there is a huge amount of scaffolding all around. The view will be much more elegant when this work is completed

I was there this last September, and it was the wrong time to be there as the Cathedral was closed, so it's kind of a pity.
Besides there were renovation works ongoing so we couldn't enjoy the beauty of its architecture.

Neogothic cathedral of Zagreb. 100-200 meters from Ban Josip Jelačić square. It is one of the symbols of Zagreb. The cathedral is damaged in the 2020. earthquake, so the renovation is going to be even longer now. It is sad, they really did come close to finnishing it (like, 2-3 years away... Believe me, that is close for our cathedral).
Nevertheless it is stil beautiful site from outside and inside. ❤️🇭🇷
Ul. Ivana Tkalčića, previously known as Potok (the brook) once served as a boundary between two districts, Kaptol and Gradec. Today, it is a delightful street with various interesting features that attract numerous visitors. Despite its rich historical significance, the street has undergone significant transformations to become an exciting hub for tourists and locals alike. With its charming allure and unique character, Ul.

The Mirogoj Cemetery, located in the heart of Zagreb, is a beautiful and serene place where several notable Croats and victims of recent regional and global conflicts are buried. It is a popular tourist attraction that can be visited by those on a short break from the city centre or for those interested in Croatian history.
Beautiful, peaceful location with a great view. When we visited, some parts were being renovated.

It's a beautiful cemetery with a very impressive facade. The towers from outside look very beautiful. The main structure got damaged during the earth quake and is worked upon.
Many important Croatians are buried here.
A very peaceful place to spend half an hour.

It is nice to visit however you cannot take great pictures for Instagram or something because it's under the construction... probably due to the earthquake in 2020. There are many fences surrounding the buildings which don't look good.

This is a beautiful cemetery to see, it’s vast and seemingly sprawls on forever, featuring gorgeous architecture and crypts to enjoy. Sadly, there is significant damage to most of the buildings within the cemetery, so they are now blocked off to pedestrian traffic to avoid injuries. We wondered for hours and love every minute of our time there.

This is an amazing place to visit in Zagreb. The gothic architecture makes this place very unique .., you have many arcades to be lost & appreciate some of the beautiful sculptures and art place along te gravestones. Unfortunately due the last year earthquake you can walk inside some of them are not safe but the cemetery is not only arcades the grounds are very beautiful too. This location is one of the love one from the bloggers to take a nice picture fr social media. Highly recommend it to visit this place

Surprisingly, we did a quick tour in this cemetery because our guide told us that it has beautiful architecture & he was right. Although it’s unusual to visit a cemetery while on a vacation, I guess it’s worth the time away from chaotic crowd in Zagreb Old Town and city center. It’s peaceful here indeed 🤣
Jessy Q. — Google review
Said to be one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the world according to national geographic. I would agree. Well it's not exceptionally old, dating to the mid 1800s, the arcades are absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately they have sustained significant damage during the earthquakes. The city has proposed finishing the arcade all the way around the cemetery, but the design for what they are proposing is absolutely ugly and does not at all match the beauty of this place.

What's going on with Croatia and putting fence everywhere? Wherever is a nice tourist spot you can't really walk everywhere and it's like this also here: cemetery has nice arcades which you can't use for walk, read what's on the wall or even take a nice picture cause... They're fenced off of course! Other than that: the place it's very nice, if you have a time in Zagreb for around 1 hour of walk you should definitely visit it! It's around two kilometres from the city center, going by foot was a good choice, the route was really nice and we could see a bit different part of Zagreb. Cemetery itself it's very beautiful and definitely worth visiting!

Mirogoj Cemetery, located in Zagreb, Croatia, was established in 1876. Designed by architect Hermann Bollé, it showcases a blend of architectural styles including Neo-Renaissance, Secession, and Historicist elements. The cemetery is renowned for its beautiful arcades, chapels, and the central domed building. Mirogoj Cemetery serves as the final resting place for numerous prominent figures, including writers, artists, politicians, and scientists, making it a significant cultural and historical site in Croatia.
Mirogoj Cemetery, a place of rest,
Where loved ones come to pay their respects.
Tombstones lined up in perfect rows,
A peaceful haven for the souls of the departed.
Here you'll find the famous and the unknown,
Immortalized in stone forevermore.
Their stories etched in marble and granite,
A testament to a life that once was.
Streets lined with trees, a serene ambiance,
Where time seems to stand still for a moment.
The silence is broken by the gentle breeze,
Whispering memories of days gone by.
Mirogoj Cemetery, a place of reflection,
A place to ponder life's great mysteries.
Here we come to find solace and peace,
And to remember those we'll never forget.

Very beautiful architecture (especially first impressions on the facade), serene walk in a less visited part of the city, surrounded by green. I believe everything being fenced (takes away part of the structures and charm) is a side effect of the latest earthquakes, but still. Worth a visit, deservs a good stroll!

As of October 2022, it is still under renovation so some part is forbidden to visit.
It is beautiful and peaceful. It is very big and still operating. It may take around 1 hours to check around but depend on individual interests.
I walk from the city and I think it worth for a visit. It is extremely huge cemetery.
Absolute an recommend hotspot, from above the Tower you get an overview over all the Vinegards, where the borders from Croatia, Slovenia and Hungary merges to that particuler point.

Superb, the local Eiffel tower delivers more than one expets. And the entrance fee is quite cheap. The view from it is breathtaking. The only thing I DIDN'T like AT ALL, was the opening time. The sunset on this hilltop is breathtaking and these guys choose to close at 19.00 pm!!! They really SHOULD reconsider their opening time to be at least until sunset. Because it really is on ANOTHER LEVEL. They simply close too soon. Big mistake. I'd pay double for a sunset form the top of the tower. Honestly.

A fantastic panorama tower with beautiful views all around and situated in an area of nice little villages. Lots of vineyards and farms in this villages have some tourist offerings. I'm afraid of heights and i really LIKED it!
A panorama tower on an area of low hills of "Lendavske Gorice" (Rolling hills of Lendava), phah, what can you see? A beautiful countryside, beautiful villages, 4 (FOUR) different countries at the same time - Slovenia, Hungary, Croatia and Austria. There are not a lot of panoramic points with that in their repertoire, i think. The ground floor has a shop with local culinary specialties and you can taste quality wines and juices. And of course a "normal" bar offering.
The tower is near the eastern-most city of Slovenia, Lendava, so if you are situated there for a few days, you can even walk here. Though there is a huge parking area under the tower, so that should not be a problem.

A great sight to visit, for sure. It's a tower with an excellent view. Situated at the border you can see 4 different countries: Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary and Austria. Swimming outside when its snowing was quite surreal.
There are several pools from children's with play equipment, large pool with access to outdoor areas, giant slides for the adventurous and a giant hot-tub (38°C) with a waterfall.
8€ for 3 hours so definitely worth a visit.

It is a very nice place to spend vacation with your family, but one "little" detail can make a huge difference. For worse. There is an area next to the outdoor swimming pool where the tiles are incredible slippery. We had chairs in that area (the only ones available) and we had to witness every 10 minutes somebody falling on the floor. From kids, to adults, even when walking very slow. One of the people got injured so bad, the ambulance came. When I discussed with the lifeguards in the area, they said its the management who dont take any action. They put an extra rug the next day, but its not enough, they should cover the entire area with such materials (or a different solution), but its not ok to have such dangerous situation and to ignore it

The last time I visited Terme 3000 (the pool complex), which was about 8 years ago, nothing had changed. Outdated pools, slides that you are afraid to go down because you don't know when they were last inspected, hygiene is questionable. It's a pity, because the Terme 3000 area is one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in Slovenia. The lack of vision and the greed of the managers have left their mark, visible at every corner.

This place is a great option for combination of swiming, thermal spa and waterslides for the kids and adults. It has several different waterslides to choose from and the thermal pools are indoors also, so in the case of rainy days u can still enjoy thermal spa activities. We were here at sunny day for a 3 hour swiming activities, prices were a bit high in comparison to other thermal spas in the region but honestly the waterslides are much better and bigger,so overall price difference is acceptable. The food at outdoor grill was good and delicious and prices were not too high.

I just want to highligh the poor quality of the food services.

We were patient enough to wait. But many people sit and then left aftet waiting just forbthe waitress to take their orders.

So many different pools, good for every age! We had a blast and could spend days there. Food felt only slightly more expensive than outside the pool. My only “bad” thing was the rules for the slides. We respected them, but my children who could go on MUCH larger and more intense slides at other water parks were extremely disappointed to not be allowed on the bigger slides. There were so many other activities for them to do that they got distracted soon enough.

I would give 5 stars, but due to the fact that disabled people must pay the full price for entrance, I will give just 3 stars. Disabled individuals should have a discount or even free entrance. For kids, it's very good; you can spend the whole day here. Prices for food and drinks are okay. Maybe I will be back with kids if they offer a discount for disabled people.
And will add this also: if you go out, you cant get back, only if you pay again.

The place is in horrible state. Dirty pools, mould, alga, broken tiles. It clearly shows the lack of cleanliness. I’m surprised that this place passed the Health and Safety standards. The attached photos speak for themselves so dear Zalakaros thermal spa headoffice and the arrogant unprofessional person who manages the review responses! If you would take just half of the effort to sort out these serious issues at your place instead of replying unprofessionally and sarcastically to the customers’ negative feedbacks, your business would bloom as I noticed that you clearly cannot digest any criticism!
Update:
Dear ANONYMOUS person of Zalakaros Spa, I wouldn’t be so proud of the shocking state of your place if I were you! Guests/customers are not blind, you know!

A facility with thermal and also medical waters. The facility is huge with several pools, mostly with thermal waters, but some also with higher concentrations considered as medical. There is also some salt water pools. The attendants are mostly helpful, although they can get a bit less so if one doesn’t even try to speak Hungarian. I also took some therapies: the lymph drainage was unconventional but ok. The medical massage was a disaster and I was happy when It was finally over and not much damage was done. It was supposed to be an hour however it was only half an hour. The lady was simply disinterested and i doubt I ever had a worse massage in my life. My suggestion is to leave the therapies be. They are definitely not helpful, if not outright dangerous. Pity. The Park Inn hotel had a connecting bridge from the hotel to the facility which is quite convenient. This is highly recommended to people suffering pain as i think these waters can indeed alleviate many of the pains.

There is no dedicated parking so park either at the Tourist centre (free of charge) or at the MenDan Spa. It makes sense to pay for the premium thermal spa, because this way you get access to the Aqua park and to the less crowded thermal pools with free sunbeds. Otherwise, you pay the basic package and you pay for the sunbed and it is more expensive and you get less for your money. To access the thermal pools turn right immediately at the tills, before you leave the reception. There is a separate gate of you look to the right.
There is a very decent cafe next to the Adventure pool, so no need to bother with sandwiches.

We only visited the interior of the spa. The area offers numerous facilities for the whole family, from slides, baby parties, playrooms and climbing frames, saunas for children and adults, infra-red deckchairs, salt room and salt sandbox, and sulfur baths. The restaurant mainly offers fast food. The facility would benefit from renovation, at least as far as the somewhat rusty fences and old window frames are concerned, and certainly the lighting - it is quite dark throughout.

A beautiful and well maintained castle. We hired a tour guide and had more than one hour tour in which a lot of interesting information was shared with us about the cake y and the family. I will bring my girls here next time as they love castles and go without the tour, in sure it will be good enough for them.
I do but recommend going up the tour, it is but really worth the extra charge nor the bird garden, didn't see anything too interesting there.

Simply wow! I really can't understand why this palace is not all that know abroad as other palaces, because it's really a little gem that should be visited MORE for sure! I didn't visit it internally because I didn't have time, but externally it's just wonderful, especially thanks to its gardens! The palace and gardens are both very well kept and well cared for

Fantastic place and very well kept. If you visit the castle and their other exhibits, it could be a whole day program. Restaurants right by the entrances to be avoided.

The castle is in excellent condition. It's worth seeing. The only bad thing is that you cannot tour the castle on your own, and the guided tour is only in Hungarian. We didn't like that. We had to follow the pace of the group and the guide in a language we don't know. The library is impressive. The park around the palace is beautiful. Most museums close at 4 p.m., so we didn't have time to visit them all. Another big minus in Hungary is that almost no one speaks English. We did not manage to find out where to buy souvenirs.

Amazing palace, a must visit.
Pets can visit the gardens but they can't enter to the palace.

An interesting palace with breath taking decorations, fairnachers, pictures and rich history. The palace radiates an impressive but quiet power. There is a very beautiful view from the main tower. After visiting the palace you can enjoy yourself from the nice park around it.

The palace’s both exterior and interior are beautiful. The visit to the palace is on full hour, and happens on each hour. The only downside is that the guide tour was on Hungarian so we didn’t understand a word, but there were English and German explanations near exhibitions so you can read about them. Considering we visited the palace in February, it was not crowded and we didn’t need to buy tickets in advance. There was a lot of people there, so I wouldn’t know if the same applies to sunny days.

Really nice palace. Hungarian, German, and English guides. It is like a mini-version of Schönbrunn in Austria. Recommend for kids aswell as adults.

Really decently priced to see everything here, if you wish to see everything I would give it a full day, but just the palace and one exhibit still took about 2 to 3 hours, pretty gardens to sit in which are free of charge as well. DSLR Photography or videography inside the palace requires, 1400 HUF extra, really recommend

A very beautiful castle surrounded by well maintained gardens. The tour is definitely worth it, since the inside is filled with interesting items and pieces of furniture with the library as a highlight. Also the view from the viewtower is nice. The signs are in English as well.

Worth to visit, nice place to spend the whole day. Garden is huge and free to visit. The farm is well organized, clean-very good with kids. Tickets are sold at the entrance, different exhibitions are available that use barcode system. Hard to find a parking lot!

I had a fantastic time at the Festetics Palace in Hungary. This beautiful palace is situated near Lake Balaton, making it a great destination for travelers. The palace has plenty to offer for younger visitors, with lots of interesting things to see and do. There are also many restaurants and a well-designed center nearby that are definitely worth checking out. Overall, the Festetics Palace is a fantastic place to visit in Hungary.

Great place to visit. Palace plus five exhibitions. You can visit them separately. Compact and fast to walk. If You have 2-3h you can see all.

The palace is beautiful and the exhibited items are exquisite. However the exhibition itself should be more interactive, as reading the information is a bit outdated and for kids it is boring.

Perfect place for trip the most beautiful place that I see:)
Large lake featuring warm waters for alleged health benefits & an indoor/outdoor spa with services.
This is a lovely thermal lake which also is huge. Everyone gets an armband that also gives you a personal locker for your belongings. Note that you can not pick any locker you have to blip the armband at the screen when entering the locker room and then you are assigned a locker.
I recommend going around the lake to the "relax" section where there are a lot fewer people and a much more calm setting. The lake is quite warm so do not expect to get cooled down on a warm summer day.

The lake itself is really nice 4,2
The staff 1 star (if you are foreigner)
The communication was complicated with the staff since they don’t speak English, and that’s understandable even tho it is a very touristic place and the signs inside are all in English.
However when they tried to buy other tickets they spoke in Hungarian and realized we didn’t speak at all, one person started to yell at us and was obvious she was complaining while her colleague was laughing loud, she called one person to speak to us while they kept having this XENOPHOBIC behavior for some minutes.
Its a paradox you go to a place to relax and the staff are rude and disrespectful.
We forgot after some minutes the situation and we were able to relax and enjoy the place
Mar?a Jos? Ram?rez Rodr?guez — Google review
Honestly I thought this was going to be gross and super packed with people. But it was very relaxing and therapeutic. The Lake is gigantic and there enough space to spread out in the water. There are different depths and parts to the spa as well. There is a super deep part and then there are sulfur baths. Spent most of my time in the outside lake part and on the sun chairs. You pay and get a wrist band that tracks you. Different pricing for how long you want to stay.

A good experience in line with expectations.
Would be so much better if kids pool had thermal water, and not copious amounts of chlorine that lead to red swollen eyes.

Lovely warm lake, swam in January in it. The complex is old, especially inside of bathing area. Not clearly indicated connection door between internal area with external (if you want to swim, and not walk by stairs).
Cafe shop is poor, expensive and I disliked it totally, but this was the only option.
Don't wear silver jewerly, it would change color!

A well organized spa with medical and healing waters. There is place to buy food and also rent ‘floaters’ which I recommend since the lake can be rather deep. I did not take any therapies but various one are available. The staff is very helpful! I realized I had left my mobile phone behind as soon as I left the place, and they had already found it! Amazing! Highly recommendable to anyone wishing to try natural healing waters.

Beautiful natural warmwaterlake to spend quality time and relax in the thermal lake or laying at a free deck chair. Dayticket costs 6000K (20€), there are also tickets for 3h (3500K) and 4h (4300K). You can eat inside the park or leave to eat outside and return.

A very well kept secret for rheumatology illnesses, muscle and nerve issues, injuries or just soul and relaxing searching purposes. A little heaven. I stayed in Heviz in a little private Pension, for a week. Yes, things might be not hypermodern and a bit out of date...BUT...it is therefore that things are still very much affordable for everyone ( not only well off people) and it serves every inch the purpose. There is an Medical centre and treatment centre at the slake...and everyone is friendly, professional and happy to help. Most people speak German, English and they are very professional . I had massages . I will definitely return.

Our host at our Airbnb, Veronica, kindly gave us two tickets for cheaper entry to the baths. There are loungers everywhere but finding a free one is a bit of a challenge. The water is very warm, about 32—35°C in summer. My daughter swam 2km, I just stayed at the edge; nearly everyone has a float in the water. The cafe was winding down so our chips were nearly cold which was very disappointing. Cafe closed at 6pm; we were there at 5pm so why cold food an hour before closing?

Winding, 300m underground limestone cave system navigable by boat along a subterranean lake.
Great place! I never think that we can boat in a cave. Although this park closed at 4 pm, the ticket office closed at 2:30 pm roughly. The closing time depends on the crowd of visitors. When you arrived, the first thing is to buy the ticket, and arrange your following thing according to the entry time.

Great little cave with a lake inside. The tour and the cave is a little basic but the underground lake makes up for it. You can drink from the lake as it is the cleanest water in the country (even cleaner than tap water) and it taste great and very refreshing. You can also ride a boat on your own and its a great fun going trough tight places.

I loved this place Thanks god it wasn't a big queue so it didn't take long to catch a boat. The cave and the water is amazing, clear and warm as well. In some corners you have to bend down because the place is so narrow. The price is not high either.

Nice cave with boat rides in the cave tunnels. I recommend visiting during weekdays from 9:30 to 16:00 you can also purchase tickets online(preferably).
in the boat you can ride only 2 adults an perhaps a toddler max cap 200kg in the boat.

It's a fun experience but don't expect too much. the cave is nice but not amazing. The water is clear and blue and makes for nice pictures. There is nothing scary or adventurous, and it is good gor all ages. I would recommend stopping by if in the area. After the cave I recommend spending 10 min walking to the duck / fish pond in the town center.

This is one of the most interesting places we visited. The children were delighted. The boat ride takes 10-15 minutes. It's warm in the cave, so leave your winter jackets in the car :) If you are claustrophobic, do not enter the cave. The lake is crystal clear. The museum is small, but interesting. Recommendations!!!
Danijela Babić — Google review
Would give five stars for the unique beauty that this natural wonder offers, but the experience was so short, that we could hardly enjoy it. Usually people spend 1h 30min (according to the lady at ticket office), for us it took approx 30 min. The exhibition was more or less interesting too, but ofcourse we were expecting to spend more time in the cave, sailing on the boat. It was a little bit of disappointment, when in less than 10 min we finished our lake ride. No one told us to sail a little bit slower, although due to the narrow corridors you can't sail fast at all, still we were too fast and finished early. So for those of you who are planning to visit, I can assure you that it is truly amazing and you should definitely go, BUT take your time, enjoy the exhibition, once you get in the boat sail slow, very slow, as there is nothing special waiting for you at the end of the road. You will be sailing only for approx 180 metres, so do it slowly and enjoy 😁
Zs?ka D — Google review
Definitely worth a visit! Before going down into the caves, you will have a guided tour through a little museum, which is very quaint. Unfortunately, English speakers were not catered for, so I had to translate for my partner.
That is the least important part of the tour for me - the highlight is of course getting to go down into the cave. We loved our ride, it’s very interactive but not without risk. Be careful down there, especially with other people bumping into you. We got stuck behind a really slow old man which was a bit annoying, but we could have queued for another go.
In the summer there were a number of little shops outside, including fresh traditional lángos, so you don’t have to worry about planning ahead for food!
Parking is a bit complicated if you don’t have coins. Took me about 15 minutes to register for the parking system (app or text) and all the instructions are in Hungarian. I suggest downloading and setting up the app beforehand as it will work across Hungary for parking. There are a tonne of apps to be found online, which can be confusing.
Make sure you buy tickets in advance online as they sell out!

This is the most underrated hidden gem of Hungary. I don't know how I found out on the internet but once i did i knew i had to go there
It was AMAZING. 75 steps, underground cave, a boat ride where you self navigate for 200m - do it slowly, avoid overhead, be mesmerized by the blue-green crystal clear mineral waters.
The info section was ALSO great - in English and Hungarian and it even had a make believe cave you could crawl thru. I think it was was kids - as a 52 year old slightly fat kid, i only managed a meter before deciding not to :-)
It was not busy at all but i was told that it gets super busy june-sep
For parking, take some forint coins for the parking meter - i fed in 300 forint ...
Don't miss this one

Very nice and basic place. Most of them don’t speak English. Had to wait almost 2 hours to enter but the tour guide speaks only Hungarian ! So we asked to pass the tour and go directly to the boat where we were rowing by ourselves and that was great experience in a cave with clear water and it was fun, easy and so enjoyable. The only thing is that was no need for all that waiting time 🥲. Still recommending everyone to visit. ❤️

WOW what an amazing experience. If you are travelling in Hungary then do not miss out on this activity. Staff are very friendly, helpful and informative. We would class this as one of our highlights of our travels and would recommend to anyone. If in a motorhome there is parking 10 minute walk away.
In busy season I would prebook tickets.

At first i couldn’t believe there was a natural cave surrounding the city but what a fun experience!
I went with my two friends and we had such a blast. When you first go in you can read a little bit about the history of the place, which is nice, but the best part was actually going down to the cave and paddling the boat around in the clear blue water. Definitely recommend this place!
Be careful not to hit your head on the rocks though!

Sighting Sarah — Google review
It's good but I expected better. Let me explain the three stars. You have to book in advance the tour, the thing is when booking there are no tours available in English and you need to send them an email to have a tour for a group of just English speaker so quite complicated in the process. When you are with the tour guide at least you can go on you own and basically completely ignore the guide (they speak Hungarian) and just go look at the exhibition (it's written in English) or use audio-guide you only have to be with the group if you want to see the 10min film (in Hungarian no subtitles) and then you can go down to the attraction where you will ride a boat inside the cave for 10min. Unfortunately for this part we had to wait at least 30min to get onto the boat and they were other tourist being pressy behind our boat (not the organisation fault just the other tourists wanting to finish fast for certain reasons).
So overall the exhibition is OK not bad but not extraordinary also and the boat ride is nice but would be much nicer if it was longer and less "crowded" and not feel in a "traffic jam". Also in the website the 700meters of walking inside the cave is just basically the waiting area before the boat ride don't be fooled.
Good experience, too high expectations.

Great natural cave to explore by foot and by boat on a short trip at the end. Exhibition was informative about the history of the cave and the geologic history as well. Tour is only in Hungarian but all the info on the walls is in German, English and Hungarian. Very helpful staff as well. Spent about an hour and a half here, fantastic price!

It's a really beautiful place to visit, but you need to keep a few things in mind.
Bathing in the water is not allowed, the boat trip is only one trip per person and takes a maximum of 10 minutes, if you are claustrophobic it is not a good place for you as some places can be quite small, I guided myself through the place because there was no guide in English, there are some descriptions and information in English and it is possible to download audios but if you do not have your own Internet you will not have access.
One of the few survived huge castles in Hungary. There are different free exhibitions or guide for fee if someone wants.

Great castle to visit when you are around .entrance fee of 2500 for adults .dogs are allowed. Be aware that you have to go a few hundred meters on a steep climb by foot .no cars allowed in any case . There where lots of people but still you had enough place to take some nice pictures . Informational panels are also in english .the arrow shooting show is in hungarian , but that doesn't bother .

It is more for children and so for families, than a couple's trip.
At the ticket office we were asked if we wanted to join a tour, after we agreed, we were told to pay...1000 ft/ adult, 500 ft / kid. If you have the money to spend, go for it, but it's not a must. (The guide speaks good English, German for sure).
The new big renovation didn't add so much to it for us, as it's basically showing us how the castle developed over the centuries over and over again. The movie was good, but the exhibition of pots could gave been made in a more imaginative way.
And the food options are really limited (chimney cake and bread with toppings).
Wear comfortable shoes for the way up.

The jewel of not only Hungary, but all of Central Europe. Founded in 1055, the abbey has seen a lot of turbulent and peaceful history. What makes this abbey so unbelievable is its dramatic setting, perched atop a vista that looks all over Lake Balaton. Perhaps, this is one of the most beautiful sites I’ve seen in all of Europe. At least, one of the most breathtaking.
In addition, Tihany is known for its lavender products as there are lavender fields everywhere. They even sell lavender Gin! (And lavender tonic).

You can visit the church itself also, but it's qgite expensive and at the moment they are renovating it, so it makes not so much sense to do so.

Nice view. It was an island in the medieval times before became an peninsula. This process still not ended up completely, thats why you can see some swamp and reed where it joins to the mainland. You must take a walk toward Óvár into the caves of the monks if you want to catch the best view to the peninsula.

Lovely church and ornate interior like many others in Europe. What distinguishes this is the lovely lake views and the very interesting museum about the food, drinks and life of the monks. A small art gallery has lovely paintings. Some cute souvenirs in the small shop at the exit.

The Siofok Water Tower, located in the city center, is a historic structure that provides unrestricted views of both the town and countryside. Upon purchasing a ticket at the entrance, visitors can ascend to the top via one of several lifts and enjoy coffee and cake at the cafe before proceeding up some additional steps to take in panoramic views from atop this unique rotating tower. Overall, it's an intriguing building that offers more than expected for those seeking breathtaking vistas.

A tourist information office is directly below the tower. Tower was renovated this year to celebrate the 100 years. One star is only for the beautiful sunset over Siófok that we managed to see during our visit. Totally overpriced and the staff that works there turned out to be absolutely unfriendly and unpleasant: we had some misunderstanding because she didn't speak English well. Weird thing considering that it is a tourist attraction that is visited not only by Hungarian-speaking people

Very central lookout point to see Siófok and the lake from a distance. It costs some to get in, but there's a little cafe and a spinning seated, windowed area at the top to relax and enjoy the view. We spent 6 hours there with two kids. It was a cloudy day with short spring showers, but there are plenty of shady places with branches as well if you come on a sunny day. Good for a whole day with lunch in place for a family. Don't rush. Sit down and let the place impress you!

All of the ethical cons for zoos aside, this one has a particularly terrible ratio of employees and customers. There should definitely be at least one person with sheeps, forbidding terrible behavior (chasing animals with sticks, throwing object at them etc.) and teaching proper interactions with animals. The cage for guinea pigs is too small in size for all of the piggies, not to mention that you can't pet these naturally cuddly animals. While I understand they keep them as food for their reptiles, GPs still deserve to live in a nice, well-put together environment.
The little staff that they do have speak rather poor english, but are very very kind and patient.

This zoo was a very positive surprise for me. The animals has enough places, there are small and big animals as well, elephants, lions, rhinos, bears, giraffes, monkeys and so on. The big open dooms for birds was so impressive. There is wide, convenient routes for the visitors, the restrooms are so clean, there is big playground for the kids, so I definitelly recommend for families with small children. We put this zoo to our favorite tourist target lists.

It is a super Zoo, everyone will find something interesting, especially kids 😊
I only give 4 because the main restaurant is of complete low quality. The worst food I have eaten for a long time in a restaurant.

Veszprém, Kittenberger Kálmán u. 17, 8200, Hungary
Historic castle district featuring medieval-era structures, an old town square, museums & a chapel.
This year (2023) Veszprém is the cultural capital of Europe. Assuring a really colorful cultural and gastronomical programs. Prepared for this plentitude of events the old part of the city is renovated carefully giving a nice experience for travelers who like historical walks in small cities around the lake Balaton.

Nice place to visit if you are in the city.

My pics are so ugly but Veszprém is such a hidden masterpiece of Hungary. I rarely see Veszpém in the list of beautiful cities in Hungary to visit on the Internet but its beauty with nature and lovely architecture can blow your mind.
Definitely worth a 2-day visit because the vibe there is suitable for relaxing.

This is the focal point of the town. Situated atop a hill, you get great views of the surrounding areas. There are some gorgeous buildings around, moat of them still owned by the church. Well worth a visit.

Lovely castle hill. Romantic old streets, with authentic historical buildings. PLUS: You can enjoy the absolute unique, beautiful vista from the old fire tower..

I love this place, a quiet and picturesque, historic castle district of Veszprém. The buildings are mostly beautifully renovated, the streets are kept tidy. I'd love to see more places to sit here with a coffee and a biscuit...

Historic place, part of the world heritage. Since the founding of the state, the seat of the rulers, burial monuments in the original early Christian churches, royal tombs. It is the scene of many traditional cultural events and exhibitions.
Here you will find the Episcopal Palace and the institutions of the Hungarian Catholic Church.
From here you can access Mount Calvary to the Staties, at the end of which is the same statue of Christ as Rio de Janeiro.

A real nice place as if you are in the middle ages, and excellent panoramic views

This castle was a nice suprise. An awesome view from the Castle and from the hill next to it.
Very exclusive place in a beautiful environment. The hosts are delightful and the food is great. Their vine is great but the cognac delicious. Looking forward to taste their own gin.

(Translated by Google) I can say that I come here every year with catering classes, to learn about wine, the winery, the wine region, nature, and dedication.
The cellar is the goals, the products (spirits, wine, champagne...), the venue, the terrace is a complex, structured conscious design.
Great place, 5 stars!

Mondhatni évente járok ide vendéglátós osztályokkal, művelődni borról, pincészetről a borvidékről, természetről, elhivatottságról beszélgetünk Lacival, diákként és oktatóként is élmény.
A pince a célok a termékek (párlat, bor, pezsgő...) a rendezvenyhelyszin, a terasz egy komplex felépített tudatos tervezés.
Szuper hely, 5 csillag!
Enormous bronze statue of a falconlike bird that was a totem of medieval clans in the region.
Panoramic view of Tatabanya and surrounding area. Nice place for a walk while learning this was historically used cave by our ancestors many thousands of years ago.

Massive monument and national symbol, it's a must see if you are in the area. The views on the city underneath from the cliffs just below are stunning. Be sure to take good walking shoes as most of the nearby walking trails are uneven. There are a couple mobile bistros on the way to the monument, next to the parking lot (which does get busy.)

The Turul is a mythical bird of prey and a national symbol of Hungarians. The massive monument overlooks the surrounding countryside. Nice walking paths and also a great cave to explore.

Amazing views, lots to see and do! Few people know that there is a way to walk up here from the city center. Starting out from roughly in line with the city library, there is safe crossing over Route 1 and onto a marked path with stairs! Great workout too! Once up, you have options to see the Turul monument, but close by there is two other attractions: the Szelim cave and a little further down a superb lookout for even more breathtaking views. It's a great place to visit with kids, there are a lot of creatures to see in the forest (stag beatles are commonly found here).

A very impressive monument with a great view over Tatabanya. The cafe was shut at the time we went so I can't comment on it. We also visited at night and the monument looks really impressive when lit up. I recommend a visit if you are passing.

Coming from the train station, there's a straightforward way to get on foot to the bottom of the hill (which Maps doesn't give you). Then, you'll have to climb up many set of stairs, difficult but enjoyable, especially once you reach the top and the big bird sculpture! A 180-view on a clear day is always a nice thing. You can't really sit just in front, as the terrain is not good for it, nor there are benches, plus there's always people coming and going. Regardless, I would recommend going if in the area.

My family and I had a great time hiking around here and were able to see the largest bronze Turul bird in Europe? The falcon has a gilded crown on its head

Beautiful view and cool bird, apparently the second largest.
Renovated twice, this 19th-century bridge offers a pedestrian walkway & scenic views of 2 countries.
A bridge connecting the Slovakian town of Sturovo with the Hungarian town of Esztergom. Easy walk across the bridge with beautiful view of the Basilica and Danube river.
raknita — Google review
While it is just a bridge, it gives amazing views over Danube. We could see the vast expanses of the river. The best part is that in no time, you are in a completely different country, culture, jurisdiction etc. Hungary had pubs open, we went across the bridge hoping to get some local Slovak drinks! To our surprise every single shop was closed due to lock down by the slovak government. Two different worlds apart, and its just one bridge that is connecting the differences. Amazing symbolic experience.

Nice chain bridge spanning the Danube and connecting Hungary to Slovakia. Can walk or drive across. Walking across is fun as there is a line to demarcate the border. Plus on the Slovak side there is a great view of the basilica in Esztergom. No control on either side.

An easy and beautiful Riverwalk takes you right to the Maria Valera bridge. The bridge has a scenic walkway from one side of the river to another. We really enjoyed the views.

This bride has a colourful "hard life" in the history, it "saw" the history...
With this background it's one of the oldest spot in the city and those moments which have been linked the two countries to each other. If you walk along this bridge from Štúrovo to Esztergom, you can feel and see the meetpoint of the two countries, Hungary and Slovakia. Couple of plaques on the both sides end of the bridge give some information about itself, the Maria Valerie bridge. You have to see.

A bridge across the Danube linking Esztergom in Hungary with Sturovo in Slovakia. Very good views of Esztergom Basilica, and interesting as a border crossing.

A line above Danube, a borderline between two countries.
First watch it through the north side of the basilica and then cross it (on foot, or by car). After visiting Estergom (the first historical capital of Hungary) we walked this bridge. The best hour in summer is about sunset
