Playa de Las Gaviotas is a picturesque beach with an area where clothing is optional, and it boasts several informal kiosks that offer refreshments and snacks. The sand on this nudist beach is dark in color and incredibly soft to the touch - akin to walking on flour! It's an ideal spot to spend the entire day basking in the sun, enjoying the sea breeze and soaking up all of nature's beauty.
A nudist beach with the Finest and softest black sand! It’s like stepping on flour!

Incredible black sand beach with good views. Parking issue if you arrive late around 12, it's already full because it's quite small. Arrive around 9-10. There are also naturists. You can get there by bus but it leaves you at the top and you have to go down for about 20-25 minutes. And then the climb is strong. I recommend going by car.

One of the best beaches close to Santa Cruz, less crowded than Teresitas. Quiet and peaceful black sand beach. You can take your dog with you as well. It's not as big as other beaches though.

Perfect place to relax and enjoy the nature of the island. Dog friendly and nudist area. There's a parking lot and the views from the road are amazing.

A quiet black sand beach where a lot of locals seemed to be surfing. There is a large car park. Huge cliffs dominate the coast which looks amazing. The road leading down is very steep!

A beach with an intact volcanic essence a few kilometers from the capital of Tenerife.
Las Gaviotas is a virgin cove of fine black sand that is included in the protected natural space of the Anaga rural park, in the Macizo de Anaga Biosphere Reserve declared as such by UNESCO in 2015; therefore it is an area with special charm for both visitors and locals. It is located under a cliff where you can see different volcanic formations.
The beach measures about 250 meters and has parking and lifeguard service. There are no hotels, fresh water showers or anything that you can find on the neighboring beach of Las Teresitas.
I recommend, especially on weekends, getting up early to be able to park easily. If you go by public transport, it leaves you a few kilometers away whose walk is rewarded with unique views, yes, it must be taken into account that the return must be done uphill.
It is a maritime zone with moderate waves, so it is necessary to take into account the times of rise and fall of the tides, since that is when the waves are more vigorous.
The waters of this cove are clean, crystalline and fresh. And its sand is black and fine.
The entire enclave is a gift for the eyes. I recommend it 100%.
And remember to keep the place clean by taking your trash with you. That

Review written mid-October - we visited the beach at 5 pm after spending the day on ‘Las Teresitas’.
Las Gaviotas is a complete different vibe - first, it is not an artificial beach, and the black sand is a testimony for that.
There were both nudist (20%) and fully dressed up people (80%) and everyone was really chill.
We came by car and indeed it is a steep hill to go down/up so make sure you are driving extra carefully. We found scarcely 1 parking spot at the time we went simply because the sun was going down.
We had lots of fun jumping the waves though.. as it is a natural beach, the ocean is quite untamed, so the current is really strong. I cannot swim myself and I felt the current pulling me towards the ocean - hence why i stayed very close to the edge.
The only downside of it in my opinion is the lack of public shower / toilet.. it is crazy for me how the authorities made a public big parking for this, but no public shower.. the sand being black gets on all your clothes and towels, so having this would definitely help.
There were also dogs running free on the beach, playing around with their families - something that I absolutely loved.
Overall, a joyful experience, but perhaps would not return as it is not very convenient from the tourism pov..

Soft black sand. Beautiful view. Great spot for sunset. I arrived at 17.00, there was no sun already cause of mountains but it was still perfect. Later it got some colors on the sky 🖤

Great that it's properly naturist will fairly few clothed people.
It's a fair drive down from the main road, a long, steep, walk. It was too windy and choppy to swim on the day I went, which I guess it will be whenever the wind is from the north east.
Phil Pool — Google review
Very beautiful black sand beach, worth to go!

Black sand beach located right behind Playa las Teresitas surfers’ paradise due to strong wind
The beach itself is rather simple, no bars nor sunbeds available, no public toilets. Road to get there is quite narrow, but very scenery
Riccardo Viano — Google review
Lovely beach! Not too busy with a suitable nearby car park. There was couple lifeguards on hand as well. This is a clothing optional naturist beach so don't worry about about bearing all, most on the beach when we visited were nude including ourselves. The only thing that spoils the view are the ships in the distance. Otherwise a lovely beach and the waves are not too rough.
The Playa de Güigüí is a clothing optional beach in Gran Canaria that can be reached by boat or a strenuous hike. It's known for its views of the Teide volcano, and is one of the most famous and unspoilt beaches in Gran Canaria.
Great day out starting with driving along the narrow mountain roads followed by a decent hike and then a rather quiet remote beach.
We parked just before the village that was about a kilometer to the start of the hike not realising that there was ample parking at the start although getting to the start involved driving along a dirt road.
The hike was nice although at one point we missed the path and climbed up the valley that made it a bit more challenging. With decent hiking gear and fitness the walk to the beach can be done in just over an hour and a half but best to allow 2 hours if it is hot.
No drinks or food available on the beach however there is a little house that sells kemonade and there was a water pipe on the beach with drinking water that aas used by campers.
Beware the tide and research the times of the tide before setting off as the second/ third beach that is nicer is only accessible at low tide.
There were people camping on the third beach and I was really envious as they had the whole beach to themselves at high tide.
My tip is to go early to avoid the strong sun but the beach is nicer in the afternoon as it is west facing.
Timbo Lond — Google review
Takes about 2.5 hours to get to the beach, the hike is half up hill and the other half back down. Definitely for more experienced hikers with proper hiking shoes and plenty of water and electrolytes. The views are stunning at the half way point before starting the trek down to the beach. There is also a small home next to the beach that serves some drinks.
Jasmine K — Google review
Fantastic beach that is worth visiting. The hike to go there may not be short or easy and takes a good effort, but if you take your time and dont forget good shoes, water and food it is worth it. You will find the beginning of the route some hundred meters behind Tasartico. The way to the beach and back took us 3 hours and 20 minutes in motion as people who hike a lot. It is about 9,16km and 840m up and down in total (~420m is the highest point which you will have to pass for the way to the beach and back). Make sure to plan enough time, it may get pretty hot on the way.
The beach is not that big but it looks pretty nice with black sand and it feels like a great reward for the hike.

I was practicing yoga at a remote venue near by when some visitors told me about this spot. I'd never heard of it and have been to GC several times. WOW!! You have to work hard to get there with a glorious hike (took us a couple of hours there and 1.5 back). Some folks even sleep overnight on this beach. It's a long, glorious stretch with crystal clear rolling waves. There is nothing else here other than humans enjoy pure and raw nature. BYO snacks and water
Amanda York — Google review
Nice trek with beautiful views. Don't forget to bring enough water and food, it will take you 2+ hours to get to the remote beach and the terrain is quite hard with huge elevation.
Jan Kubeš — Google review
The by far best beach on all of the island. Very fine sand, not too windy, waves not too high.
The best part - no fat tourists thanks to the 2h hike to get there.
Don’t miss this. I cannot understand reviews who say they were underwhelmed by this .. the hike isn’t short, but it’s fairly easy. Just take enough water.
Quite a few people sleep over night on the beach. You definitely need a tent though.

All I can say here is “The journey is the destination” - beautiful beach. But: ! Take your trash with you and bury feces!
Very intensive hike over a mountain for about 1.5 hours of exit and then 2 hours of descent (depending on your luggage and footwear) until you reach the beach. And then back again :D There is also the option of being picked up by a boat, but walking the path twice challenges the mind and body ;) The most beautiful moment for me was the successful climb up the mountain and the view of the sea, which became airy so nice and cool and salty, perfect for the descent.
tonayakayra — Google review
The beach is very nice. You can enjoy some shadow from the big cliffs and the water is clear and fresh.
Now about the hike: on the first sign that you see it says 5km to the beach but I think it is more than that. The difficulty is medium let's say but the sun and heat make it harder. For us it took like 2,5h to get there because we stopped a lot to cool off.
Momo — Google review
The most beautiful beach on the island. You need a lot of water for the hike.
Rick Ri — Google review
The place is definitely worth a visit, and if it's not easy to get to the beach... the path is interesting with beautiful views, the beach is beautiful, maybe the best on Gran Canaria!
Ilija Ljumovic — Google review
The beach itself it s decent, nothing really special about it rather then the fact it s preatty private with not a lot of people since it s hard to acces. The hike on the other hand it s really impressive. It took us around 2h30m each way, but the views are just stunning. I recommend you to bring a lot of water since it s probably gonna be hot and not a lot of places to hide from the sun. There is a really nice lady that gives away free water close to the beach side( you can donate somrthing it you want). And another importanting thing is to try to go early and leave late to avoid the most heated periods of the day. Keep in mind the hike is a pretty hard one but if you get enough water you should be able to do it.
Bursuc — Google review
I don't like hiking so it was a bit challenging for me to get there, but the beach itself was absolutely amazing. We went for a camping there with my friends.

Some level of fitness is a must have. Be there at sunset/sunrise. There is also a friendly couplenear the beach where you can buy Limonade or get some fresh water. It is also one of the darkest places on the canary island, so you can see a lot of starts at night

The slender rock formation on the peninsula known as "God's Finger" has been around for centuries and is surrounded by towering cliffs. What sets this beach apart from others in Gran Canaria are its black, volcanic sands that create a striking contrast against the colorful cliffs and sea. However, caution is advised when setting up your towel close to the cliffs due to the risk of rockfalls.

The Parque Arqueológico Maipés de Agaete is a vast site that was once home to the Canariens who have left behind numerous tombs. The area is known for its unique landscape, and visitors can witness lizards roaming around freely. While the history of how these tombs were discovered and excavated remains unclear, they offer significant insight into the life of the original inhabitants.
An amazing place and an easy, well signed walk from the centre of Agaete. Only €3 entry and lots to see on a well maintained path. Lots of information boards in Spanish and very well translated English.
Stephen Wood — Google review
Fascinating! A huge site that initially seems quite barren, but is covered in tombs constructed by the original Canariens. I would have liked more information about how the tombs were discovered and excavated, and what the human remains revealed about the people. And it was the only place we’ve seen lizards…. Lots of lizards!

La necropolis de Maipes is an archaeological park located in the northwest of Gran Canaria in the town of Agaete. There is a parking lot nearby. The entrance fee is 3 euros, and tickets are also valid for the Necropolis of Artear, Canada de lo Gatos and Cenobio de Valeron. The employees are very kind and accommodating. A beautifully landscaped path has been created that leads to the archaeological museum where you can see sections of the tombs and imagine what they look like from the inside. In the archaeological park itself, there are about 700 tombs, some of which are around 1300 years old, which is why they represent an exceptional historical value for the inhabitants of Gran Canaria. Sami park is a combination of gray earth and green vegetation and it looks very beautiful.

The Cueva Pintada Museum and Archaeological Park is a significant pre-Hispanic site on Gran Canaria, discovered by a local farmer in the late 19th-century. It features a cave adorned with geometric shapes that possibly relate to lunar and solar calendars. The museum displays ancient artifacts from the area, offering guided tours for visitors. This archaeological site is wheelchair-friendly and conveniently located in the heart of town, making it easily accessible to all who wish to explore its history and beauty.
Me and my family found La Cueva and the Tour super interesting. There is a lot of work done that is worth seeing. The personal was amazing and very helpful. This trip works also as complementary one to my hiking routes through Gran Canaria. It was well ventilated and clean, parking was a bit hard but doable. For elderly people, the way to the caves is easy and accessible. A must if you want to know more about the Canary Islands history.

You can tell they put a lot of money and effort into this small museum. It seems like most people are taken around in tours. Though I could not find tour information on the website. I would have made the effort to come at a certain time in order to have an English tour. I arrived around 1 and was told there were no more English tours. Walking around by myself was fine, there are lots of screens with English as an option. It was not busy so I was able to select English. Signage was not great, staff kept correcting where I was going. The excavation site is interesting though if you've seen other older bigger cave paintings around the world this might not be so impressive.

Part of a larger village has been exposed under cover. They are still digging to uncover the history. We managed to get a free tour as it was a Sunday, and oir guide spoke good English. The Spanish invaders do not come off well in this interpretation.
As it is free on Sundays, the museum gets very busy. You can turn up to get tickets, but as they are popular you need to plan ahead if you want a specific time. The foreign language tours are much quieter than the Spanish-speaking ones on these days.

If you are interested in how things happened 800 years ago, you'll enjoy the Paonted Cave. Although we opted for a self-guided tour, the staff volunteered to show us around and explain everything - in English! They are very keen and interested in the cave and its surrounding settlement and that enthusiasm shows through. To be honest its not a very exciting place but we spent a very entertaining 90 minutes there and also discovered the lovely town that houses it. Worth the excursion.

Amazing museum and archeological site! One of the best we’ve seen. We were lucky and got a free tour in English for 1:40h, with a very dedicated tour guide. It’s unbelievable that you can still see the pre-colonial times there and the cave, as I’m sure in some years it’s destiny will become Altamira’s or so… stop by if you’re a history and archeology lover!
PS: They have access for people with disabilities, too, which is great.

Great interactive experience, multiple languages spoken, great for families. The Spanish government spent millions on this site, and it shows! Definitely a highlight of my trip to Gáldar where this sits on the edge of the city center. Lots to do around this archeological site, restaurants, shops, bars.

6€ ticket is very well invested price, i recommend the guided tour (also in English), because the nice guide will tell you lot of valuable information which you would miss without her*him, moreover in very entertaining way, nothing boring. The visit includes two short movies and some other videos, you can see lot of artifacts and reconstructed dwellings of original population of Gran Canaria. Enjoy!

Interesting and informative visit. I recommend taking the guided tour. Our tour guide spoke very good english (March 2024).

Definitely a recommendation if you want to enjoy the history of the island.
We joined one of the guided tours and definitely recommend doing that.
Do look at the website for a tour in your language as it seems like there's only one tour in each language per day.
We were lucky enough to be multilingual, so for us it didn't matter, but a lot of info the guide had to share wasn't written down.
The rest of the city is lovely too!

Interesting remains of a village built into the hillside by the island's original inhabitants, hundreds of years before the Spanish arrived. The painted cave itself is sealed off to protect it, with a glass passageway that lets you stand inside without interfering with the controlled climate. Photos aren't allowed inside the cave, but you do get a good view of the geometric patterns painted on the walls.
Guided tours are available in various languages, and the staff are very friendly and helpful if (like me) you arrive between tours and don't want to hang around. Maybe it's just because I visited in January and it was quite quiet, but I would have had to wait over an hour for the next tour.
The attached museum has a couple of short films about the history of the island and the background of the village (again, the staff will put these on for you in whatever language you need). The first one in particular gets quite dark (spoiler: the arrival of the Spanish on the island doesn't end well for the natives) and includes some brief nudity, in case that bothers you.
The museum also includes various items found at the site, from pots and plates to tiny figurines and carved stamps. There are also a couple of recreated houses in the village to show how they might have looked originally.
Aside from that, there are a few quick videos on screens scattered around the site explaining various things, and an AR app for your phone, although I only noticed one spot with a QR code to use it at, and that wasn't very exciting. Overall it could maybe have done with a little more information to help picture what the various structures were and understand the site.
Once you get inside there's a raised metal walkway going around the whole site, giving you good views across the village. Lifts are available to take you between levels, for anyone who needs them.

Very friendly and helpful staff - all English speaking - guided us around this interesting museum. There were several videos to watch that explained the history of the indigenous population and the way that they lived in caves on the island. Lots of stairs but lifts available too. All under cover so perfect in the unlikely event of rain. The town square and the old dragon tree in a building on it are worth seeing whilst you’re there.

We absolutely loved it here. Easy to find just of the main square by the tourist information office. Our tour guide Alba was amazing and gave us so much information and answered all our questions. We learnt a lot about the original inhabitants of Gran Canaria and its history from her. We saw a short film about original settlers and artefacts found on site and in the local area and learnt what they were used for and about their lives . We walked around the excavation site town and found out about what the builds were used for. We saw the remains of cave houses and the reconstruction of 2 style round houses. Their was a short film of how the houses were constructed . We also saw the famous painted cave which is being preserved and she explained what archaeologists thought the paintings were and what they used for colours. Their are lots of steps, but those in our group with mobility issues used the lifts to access other levels. This was offered by Alba and they did not even have to ask. Their were toilets and a well stocked gift shop. A must see visit if you are in Galdar and like history and want to learn about the area. Older children would find this very interesting. Make sure you have a guided tour in your language rather than a self tour. We were here about 2 hours and had a pre booked guided tour in English.

Do not visit with children. Even if you do not take guided tour you have to wait for the guide to let you in different rooms and then they demand you to just sit with the child and wait while the guide talks. And then if the child makes any noise (which is normal with kids) the security guy asks to be silent. Rude employees. Nothing special to see (as much as we saw as we basically were forced to leave as it was impossible to stay with a child there. Spent 12€ for nothing just to wait 30 min to get in, then 15 minutes more waits inside and rude people. Very disappointed and wanted to get the money back but of course they did not.
The La Laja plantation, situated in the Agaete Valley, specifically in Los Berrazales, is renowned for its diverse range of agricultural products. While they cultivate various goods, their primary focus lies on coffee and wine production. Their coffee consists of natural and typical Arabica beans, widely regarded as the finest variety available.
Great experience and such a beautiful location! Definitely a must, even if you are farther away on the island. The trip (by an easy road) to the valley itself is already fabulous!
Without any prior booking, we took a wine&coffee tour that was finished with the tasting (they have two options: wine&coffee tour for 10euros and coffee tour for 6euros).

The place with the soul ❤️ Ideal to spend couple hours, take an interesting tour around plantation and winery, enjoy very good local wine and coffee. The girls who work there are like angels, so kind, attentive and helpful! Also, big thanks to Victor, we wish you all the best in your business, so client oriented, everyone should take you as example. Thanks a lot for all you did for us in the situation with flat car tire.

Very friendly staff. The tour is not very elaborate but please remember that you only pay €12 for the tour and tasting. We also learned something about coffee and the fruits they grow. We enjoyed the apple/coffee marmalade.
Our guide Anna was great! She spoke perfect English.

We went to this place with one of our excursions with Trip Gran Canaria. Here you can take a look at orange and avocado plants, coffee bean plants and many more. You can get more info about the coffee bean process and can taste their coffee at the bar. In the shop you can find some local products. We can recommend the view at the rooftop terrace, the valley is amazing from there.

In a beautiful setting you find a near perfect bodega beautifully presented. This bodega produces not only wine but it’s own coffee. Apart from this the landscape contains many different fruit trees. The guide presented a very knowledgeable tour not only of the wine and coffee but all the other parts of the finca. We did the tasting tour which was red-white & rose wine and some snacks and coffee. There is also a full restaurant and they have a shop where you can buy their products - we found it somewhat difficult to find and they need some more clarification on directions if you are driving there but there is also an option of a bus tour. The day was somewhat marred by a beautiful tame African grey parrot in a small cage and I would urge the owners to rectify this asap as it detracts from a very memorable visit

We can highly recommend the tour with tasting!
The diversity of plants, coffee, oranges, vines, papaya and much more, it also smelled great.🤩
The tasting included 3 wines, cheese, bread with sausage, crispbread. You can also try cake and coffee made in-house from their plants. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating, it was a great experience for us!😊

I like nature nearby and the story about this place. Coffee is soft and not too bad. I don't like a wine, but people liked white wine. I liked the smell of orange flowers - it was surrounding. You should visit this play just for those tree flowers )

Beautiful place to visit. A short guided Tour with a small degustation in the end for 12 euros - which seemed like a fair price to me. The valley where it's located in, offers a stunning view.
Would come here a second time for sure. Wow effect guaranteed.

An incredible place as there grow mango, avocado, coffee, oranges, mandarines, bananas and many other things just in one place. Highly recommended to visit, but keep in mind that fruits are available to by there only in appropriate seasons. For instance, uou can buy and try mango at end of Summer, or in December. Very nice coffee is also there, which is a local well known arabica!

Beautiful place, the price for the visit and degustation is more than worth it, one thing though to me the coffee that was poured for degustation had extremely mild taste, like it would be if cut with too much water, would have been nice to have had a very strong, espresso like coffee to really have the flavours, their wines were very good, we took a bottle of dry white wine.
I recommend this place!! Must do I guess if you are visiting the island (plus we went with a stroller and no problem at all to go around during the visit)

We arrived at Bodega Los Berrazales in the mid-afternoon with our two-year-old daughter, following a visit to a nearby banana plantation. The road to the plantation was a bit narrow but manageable. Upon arrival at this charming and authentic coffee and orange plantation, we headed to the souvenir shop, planning to purchase our tickets. To our surprise, we were informed that payment would be after the tour and tasting.
Our guide, Anna, was truly exceptional. Her kindness, understanding, and genuine love for the plantation shone through. Anna provided a captivating history lesson, explained the coffee-making process, and introduced us to the various plants in the area. The most astonishing part was witnessing butterflies hatching in the wild, which Anna actively assisted by relocating caterpillars to ensure their survival.
The tasting session was enjoyable, though the wines didn't quite match my palate. The cheese, however, was delightful. They even generously refilled it when we ran out, thanks to our daughter's love for it with marmalade. The best surprise came when it was time to pay; they didn't charge for my daughter, resulting in a much more reasonable bill than expected. The extra cheese was a lovely bonus.
I wholeheartedly recommend visiting this hidden gem, and if you're fortunate, you'll have Anna as your guide.

Wonderful visit to this bodega in a beautiful valley near Agaete. We tasted three of their wines 🍷 with some bread, cheese 🧀, chorizo and jam.
Followed by some lemon cake with coffee and a short guided tour. All local produce from their farm.
The people were very welcoming 🙏 and the location was stunning 😍 even with a little rain shower.

Cenobio de Valerón is an intriguing archaeological site located on the northwest side of Gran Canaria. It consists of over 300 caves that were used as a communal granary by the indigenous people until the 15th century. The site was created to store harvests, providing protection from animals, storms, and theft. With its historical significance, it was declared a Cultural Interest Site in 1974.
The guy at the site selling tickets was very knowledgeable about the history of the site and the area, very enthusiastic in sharing information, super friendly and really made the visit special.
A great place to learn about the history of the island. However, it's probably not easy to get there without a car. The view from the site was amazing too, definitely worth a visit.

A small historical site that worth to take a small walk if you come across around the area. It is not a big site and it took us around 30 mins to finish.
The entrance fee was €3 and it was a small contribution to the maintenance and administrative expenses which we think it is a good way to support the local to preserve the historical sites.
There was "parking" space opposite to the site and a toilet available.
The staff in the reception counter was very friendly and cheerful.

A very interesting historical place. Here, 800 years ago, local aborigines stored grain. We want to thank the guy named Andrey who works at the ticket office for providing us with interesting information about nearby attractions. Very interesting place with a fascinating history. It’s a quick visit of about 30 minutes, and you have to pay a small entrance fee to get it (2-3 euros) in order to keep the place in good order. I thought this was definitely worth it. Interesting archeological site!

Worth for visiting for sure! Cenobio de Valerón is an ancient archaeological site located in the Canary Islands. It consists of a complex network of interconnected artificial caves carved into the volcanic tuff rock. These caves served various purposes, including as homes, storage areas, and possibly even burial sites for the ancient indigenous people known as the Guanches.

A small place, with a history of local culture. It's interesting, you will see it all in 15 minutes, part of it was probably being repaired. Consider whether it's worth a visit. Beware google navigation will take you from the other side of the hill and you will have to return. You can buy some goods there and there is friendly service.

An excellent archeological site and a must visit. Google maps takes you to the wrong location so use the photo of instructions in my review to go to the correct place. There is enough parking at the site as the place is not that busy. Place also has restrooms if you need, but will have to ask for keys from the guy at the ticket window. Guy at the ticket window is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Tickets are €3 per adult. Site is still active as archaeologists are still doing research on how the site was used as granary.

Love the road up there, the wife not so much. The walk up the stairs to the site isn’t bad at all, even for an out of shape guy like me. Absolutely amazing to see this type of archeological site and what it was used for. This was one of my favourite sites to see in Gran Canaria.

An interesting place in the history of the island. A short drive from the motorway winds along a mountain hugging road to the small parking area. Steps lead via the entrance (fee payable) to the metal viewing platforms where the caves can be seen. There are plenty of informative boards explaining the history.

Very interesting place to visit! For €3,- you can stay as long as you want during visiting hours. To get there, you need to take a lot of steps.
The view is beautiful!

Interesting site up in the mountains overlooking the coast, with spectacular views into the surrounding ravines. The dozens of small caves carved into the mountainside by the island's original inhabitants are an impressive and unusual experience, and there's plenty of information about them alongside the metal stairs and walkways which get you a close-up view of the main area.
It's in an isolated location, so the only access is a narrow, winding road with sheer drops on the side, and there isn't much parking available. Even in January we had to wait a couple of minutes for someone else to leave before we could park properly. Well worth a visit though, and entry was only €3 each, which is a bargain.

While this is a fine and useful exhibit of early aboriginal architecture, I visited when the temperature hit 37 degrees and I was unable to visit for more than 30 minutes. The view is truly amazing though.

Cenobio de Valerón in Santa María de Guía de Gran Canaria is a captivating archaeological site that takes you back in time. This complex cave system, boasting 298 compartments over 8 levels, was ingeniously carved into volcanic rock, serving as a vital granary.
What's fascinating is the way they preserved their precious crops - sealed behind doors made of wood, stone, or textiles and secured with ashy mortar. Exploring the interconnected caves, you'll find remnants of an ancient civilization, including idols, paintings, ceramics, and even human remains. It's a journey into the island's rich history that's well worth experiencing.

Amazing place for history and archeology lovers. The views are also stunning. Very well preserved site with nice staff. Palmitos Park is a must-visit attraction on Gran Canaria, offering a diverse range of experiences for the whole family. The park is divided into five areas: Birds, The Garden, Aquarium, Reptiles, and Mammals. Visitors can explore the Cage of Lories to see colorful birds from around the world and the House of Butterflies, which boasts being the largest in Europe.
Really enjoyable day out. We could easily spend 4-5 hrs there with the different live displays. You can really see the ecological factor/learning that goes on with the animals and it's really nice to see the handlers with such passion for their animals.
Would recommend the birds of prey show.
All toilets had a baby change and were clean. Good gift shop which serves ice cream.
We had a hire car but there is also a bus directly from Maspalomas.
Restaurant is priced similar to the tourist locations but was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food (specifically the burger).

We went to Palmitos Park and I was rather disappointed in comparison to other zoos on the canaries.
Beautiful orchids in the orchid garden.
I enjoyed the dolphins, definitely go to both shows if you have time as they are different shows.
The road travelling in is a bit hairy in places.
The signage could be better.
Large car park.
Lots of toilets.
Great restaurant, reasonable priced meals.
The gift shop is expensive.

Not a bad zoo by any means, but not sure if it's worth the price. Definitely a lot to see, but nothing particularly spectacular. Add the steep uphill climb and the scorching hot weather and it becomes quire a risk for heat stroke. There are a few shows, of which we seen the one with dolphins and it was nice. Quite a lot of exotic birds which was nice. There is a restaurant there but it is really expensive for what it is. So would recommend bringing your own food.

Had a fantastic day out here with our little one. Not too big of a place, but very steep hills/steps. Plenty of places to stop and sit down. The animals were all great and could see them closely, but the best by far is the dolphins. Would go back again just for them.

They also had an aquarium and a butterfly house! I recommend buying tickets before hand as it is cheaper!

absolutely beautiful park. we booked tickets through our hotel and got a €3 discount per person and our 2 year went free.
the dolphin show was amazing! there were many seats available and lots of shading. we also saw the birds of prey show and i got to catch an eagle on my arm. however there was no shading for this show so it got quite hot sat in the 90°F weather.
this park does require tons of walking so be prepared for that. expect to spend at least 4-5 hours here especially if you are with young children.

Great zoo with plenty to see and do. It’s built on a hill so be prepared for some walking but it’s very much worth it. Plenty of places around to get water and drinks when it’s hot and plenty of toilet facilities too. Don’t miss the indoor bird house where for €2 you can get a little tub of bird milk and the birds will land on your hand to drink it. Dolphin show is fantastic too and you can get your picture take with the dolphin. Overall great day out for and adults and families.

Fantastic park in Gran Canaria. If you hire a car 15 minutes drive from Maspalomas. The park is in the mountains so only recommend well experienced drivers otherwise use taxi or bus ( both reasonable price )
We stayed 5 hours but can easily spend more time.
Be prepared a comfortable shoes and clothes lots of walk up and down on the hill.
Highly recommend Birds of Pray and Dolphins show.
Birds of pray show there is no shelter so take a hat, suncream and plenty of drinks with you. Dolphins show perfectly in the shades.
Food and drink price is the same like every other tourist spots but queue is quite long.
Plenty of bench so you can sit and ate your own pack lunch.
You can have a photo with dolphins, eagles or parrots for a bit extra money.
Overall highly recommend and fantastic memory for our family !

Also there is so hot. There is nothing ebove your head when you're on the dolfins show.
Otherwise the shows and the park is great.

The Sioux City theme park in San Augustine offers a variety of Western-themed activities for visitors of all ages. There are cowboy shows, BBQs, Western dancing, and a small zoo that's perfect for kids. The park is well worth the visit whether you're in the area for a day or spending the weekend.
Amazing full day out for all the family! Was there from 10am until at least 4.
Well worth every £££ definitely go again!!!
Ticket admission includes a free meal and 1 cold beverage (alcoholic drink if preferred).
The bbq area for the meal opens on around half 1, you can get Angus steak burger, pork chops, sausage, & potatoes. However we paid extra and went on a horse ride for half an hour, the by the time we got to the grill area they had stopped cooking the Angus burgers and we don’t like pork chops. They were very pleasant, accommodating our needs and n they made us chicken burger and chips fresh instead!
There are a few shows in the day, a magic act, cowboy& Indians play set in the streets that surround you, a horse whisperer show, a cowboys shoot off/ dancing & a clown act. Be aware that most of these they pick people from the audience to participate in!!!
Western themed around the whole park, takes you back in time. Great fun for kids and adults alike. Many dressed up as cowboys and Indians especially the kids. They have a great souvenir shop that you can kit yourself out in at a price! They also have farm animal feed that you can buy to feed the goats and baby pig with!
Overall great day out & something different to experience :)

Between 10:30am and 3pm there was good few shows. It was nice. Place isn't very big, you can see everything in an hour but they won't let you get bored. Let's be honest for €25 it's well worth it.
There is a bbq buffet for extra €15, beer in a saloon costs €4.5
We had a good day there. I recommend especially if you have children. It is a family friendly place. Only problem was the wheelchair access. Its a sand and gravel road, depends on a wheelchair you may have some problems. Beside that it was really fun.

At first I thought the park was going to be boring and quite money grabing, but man was I wrong. The shows are amazing!!
I traveled there on sunday so I saw the bank robbery and the saloon show. So to begin, it is worth to visit early - around 11 am so you don't miss the shows.
The bank robbery show is quite amazing. The actors do a great job. The loud bangs of guns, fast gallops of horses and loud shouting. You really feel like you traveled back in time to wild west. Also the story of the show drags you in like a movie - the whole lot of visitors laugh during the show - so great times (:
The saloon show is also great and entertaining, because actors include the visitors in it too - great fun.
The actors are all kind and you can see they enjoy their job so you feel also welcome in the theme park.
Also got some amazing photos I am sharing below so I must say I really had fun!!

Can’t recommend this place enough! Our visit to Sioux City was the highlight of our trip! Beautiful little town with incredible attention to detail, the actors and staff are all so friendly. There was so much to do and see, 4 performances throughout the day - all of which were fantastic and so entertaining! So many animals and the opportunity to feed and pet them! I loved it, I’m so happy we visited

we went there last monday and only to found out it was closed and then we went back again today. no regret!!! worth the visit. the actors and actresses really did a good job. Many shows for all ages. Highly recommended.

It was our last day on the island and my sons wanted to come here and I’m glad we did, I was a bit sceptical but absolutely enjoyed every minute.
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left it was full of fun and shows.
You can hire a horse for some horse riding, feed some goats there is a saloon for some typical pub food (it was good food).
The shows feel like they never stop the entertainment keeps flowing, there is enough time in between shows to grab some food and souvenirs.
If you want the full experience if you get the chance make sure you participate in the shows especially the last show in the bar, I’m not going to say too much (but you will want to 🔫💥)

Small entertainment park depicting the life of American Prarie many years ago. The park doesn't look much, but the staff and the animals make up for all of that!
You will find a few hidden gems like the enigmatic village fool, the strong and powerful (and bendy) lady!
The park is open from 10 till 15 with stories being told in the middle of the street, in front of the bank and in the saloon.
Feeding and riding the animals was the top attraction for the kids, whereas the slapstick comedy was for many to enjoy.
Don't expect "attractions or rides", the people telling the story and the small town itself is the attraction! Be here on time and be sure to watch the staff. They are the show... and it is not well conveyed when and where the next story takes place.
All in all had a amazing day in a tiny and freakishly warm town, which looks like a movie set and felt as warm too.

There is so much to say! Cast and crew were superb, the shows were interactive and amazing. I took my Daughter on a girls day out and I was more than impressed.
She was made to feel like a princess of the west and that was just in the shop it was better with each step we took. They were very busy but still took time to speak with all the visitors and they are family orientated with plenty for adults too.
You can take the free bus, various resort pick ups so check the locations on the timetable, the staff will call for a taxi if you miss the bus (we chose to), they stayed until we were safely in the taxi.
The kindness from each staff member was heart-warming and made my Daughter feel like she was a VIP.
They have farm animals that you can view and interact with some of them and the staff knowledge of them is fantastic. Horse rides are available (extra fee), be sure to check out the barbecue (extra fee) and buildings.
Lots to experience here, prices are very reasonable for the experience and I would highly recommend!

My friend and I went today and were very impressed right from the beginning by the scenary and the details of the village. Felt like being in the far west!!
Made us very happy to see how well all the animals are taken care of. Clean, well fed ,happy and loved. Bathrooms were spotless and everything around as well. The actors were amazing!! So kind towards children and us adults as well. The bbq was really good 👍.
I would like to thank all the actors staff and all the people that work there ,for the wonderful work you're doing!!
I would definitely recommend this for families with children as well as couples, friend groups or even on your own. It was a great experience !
Great job guys 🥰!!

Absolutely the highlight of my holiday. As a lover of horses, animals and Red Dead Redemption 2, I felt like I was living my Wild West dreams on this trip. Definitely arrive on time as there are lots of entertaining shows and it's all planned out. Gift shop is great and some really lovely hats and caps in there. The shows are soo funny and the actors absolutely brilliant. If you love animals, you get to hold baby goats, feed goats and piglets and stroke the horses. There's also a chance to ride the horses for the kids. The food is slightly expensive but massive portions and very tasty. I can hardly fault this place but if I could give 1 bit of advice it would be to leave a little bit longer between each show as we nearly missed the Wild West show as we were still eating lunch and didn't get chance to take the kids on the horse ride as we went for lunch when it was on. We didn't realise we should of ordered food whilst watching the Illusionist show! But other than that it's an absolutely fantastic day out and so different!

Fantastic day out from start to finish. Lovely free Bus scenic view trip from Amadores Beach all the way to the Entrance and a return trip home later. Great place to go with some fab shows spread out during the time there. Don't want to spoil it for others but some fab acting and Gun shoot outs along with lots of time to walk around taking loads of photos and exploring the Wild West City. Would highly recommend and will definitely go again. Took tons of photos and videos.
Just returned from another visit today and again had another amazing experience. All the staff do a fantastic job and the shows are amazing. Definitely get value for your money and well worth the trip.
A little tip though. When you are in the saloon watching the last act at 14:10 don't sit near the front as those "Guns" are extremely loud 🤣🤣.

Interesting western park. The actors give three short performances of 20 minutes each. In between, you can go and photograph the locations. On the territory of the park there is a cafe, a grill area and a souvenir shop. You can also feed the animals. Food for them is sold in the gift shop. We were in the park for 5 hours and we were not bored. It will be interesting for both adults and children

Barranco del Aguila, s/n, 35100 Maspalomas, Las Palmas, Spain
Jardín Botánico Canario Viera y Clavijo, situated in Tafira Alta in the northeast of Gran Canaria, showcases the surprising lushness of the island with its diverse collection of around 500 plant species. These include native flora from the Canary Islands and other Macaronesian islands, as well as imported cacti and succulents.
Beautiful garden. If you enter from the down entrance, you have a cactus garden and different spaces ornated with specific plants, lakes and a waterfall. A lot of places to stay cool and enjoy the shadows. Then I recommend going up the hill on the rocky steep paths. You will have an extended view over the garden and the valley below.
Vlad Danciu — Google review
A pleasant and enjoyable way to pass a couple of hours.
I didn't find the main part of the gardens to be run down or poorly maintained as some other reviewers describe. The paths leading down from the car park to the west of the gardens are steep and uneven in parts so I would suggest that those with mobility problems avoid this entrance. There is an alternative entrance to the east of the park which provides access to the main gardens where the paths are well maintained.
I enjoyed spending a couple of hours amongst the various trees, plants and water pools. It's a peaceful place to walk around in. There is no shop or cafe so take refreshments with you. The toilets were clean. There is no entry or parking charge.
I recommend you visit, and I would visit again if in the area.

A very nice place not far from Las Palmas.
Entrance is free and it's a good place for making nice pictures.
There are plenty of parking spots directly in front of the garden.

Awesome cactus garden for a family trip!! There is parking space above and below and we do definitely recommend parking below, at the lower level. This way you are not forced to climb the sometimes rather narrow pathways to the garden but can decide for yourselves. Entrance and parking is free of charge.

Loved the Botanical Gardens! We entered at the top and wove our way down the paths along the hillside, to the bottom, through fascinating flora, and the sounds of birds. There are interesting sculptures, a fountain where the wise men behind the gardens and the study of indigenous flora are commemorated, special groupings of plants from other places (including a fascinating collection of palm trees), waterways, and good signage. I absolutely recommend taking the time to visit the gardens!

On our final day in Las Palmas, my girlfriend was adamant about visiting the Botanic Garden. While I was initially hesitant and skeptical about spending our time there amidst the lush greenery, my doubts were quickly shattered. To my amazement, the Botanic Garden turned out to be an enchanting oasis that left an indelible mark on my memory. This destination was far from ordinary—it was a realm of extraordinary beauty. If you ever find yourself in the vicinity, I implore you to pay a visit to this remarkable place. Its allure is not to be missed.

It can be said that it is nice for a free park. Especially the garden with cacti was very nice. There are giant cactus trees and different types of cacti. It's worth a few hours. Fish, insects and plants in tiny pools should also be seen. The toilets located at different points inside were also clean. Also, the security guards were polite and helpful.

Great botanic garden in Gran Canaria with a great variety of cactus to see and also offers an interesting hike. It is much bigger than I expected and you can easily spend 2-3 hours here wandering about in a lovely sunny day. Definitely worth a visit. Plus It is free entry which is a bonus ;)
Shasha Yu — Google review
The place definitely has some untapped potential but currently looks like no one cares to make it work. Some areas are interesting, but majority of garden is just dirt, dry plants and nothing to see. Would love to have more info about plants not only general. Don’t bother to go up to the hill - apart from views same plants over and over again.
Jarosław Skupiński — Google review
The garden is interesting but the trails are not well marked. The map at the lower entrance ( which Google directed us to) is scanned via a QR code. This garden plan is not easy to use when viewing on a phny
The trail up to the main entrance where the mirador is, is very steep, narrow in places and there is no handrail or barrier. Due to vertigo, we chose to drive to the main entrance to see the mirador.
There is a restaurant at the main entrance, we didn't visit it as it looked somewhat formal for our needs.
Jo Banks — Google review
If you choose the right time of year, this place will delight you. The garden area is 27 hectares, and a walk around this wonderful place will take you 3-4.5 hours and will remain in your memory for a long time. All plants have been carefully categorized and described, and there are over 2,000 species, including 500 endemic ones. Admission to the garden and parking is free.
I recommend👍

The biggest botanical garden in Spain, the place is so massive and entertaining it honestly feels more like an amusement park for plants and nature.
The place is slightly inconvenient to reach by public transport but it’s absolutely worth it, and it’s all free. Spare a day for it and if you think you’ll get hungry make sure you reserve a seat at their amazing but quite packed restaurant.
Zoran Gjorgiev — Google review
Fabulous public gardens containing every type of plant from across the islands.
The mixture of climate conditions, soil and landscape variations makes for the perfect site for the botanical gardens.
Wandering around the well designed and cared for site is an absolute joy. Both relaxing and fascinating at the same time.
Several of the plants and views are guaranteed to take your breath away in more ways than one as some of the paths up the steep hillside are demanding and even treacherous in places.
There's a little restaurant at the top of the hillside and carparks both below and above.
Amazingly, the park is free to enter.

The beach is excellent. It is sandy with nice water and it is also very long so you can find different interesting spots where to stay. In the northern part the water is calm, in the middle you can find rocks in the water so be careful and in the southern part there are waves suitable for surfing. I would 100% recommend!

A fantastic place to be. Such a nice and wide beach with it's cool and smooth sand which is fantastic to walk in. There are places to change clothing and the security is high with several life guards along the entire beach. A perfect place for a day on holiday either if you want to swim or just lie down and rest in the sun. Or both.

Nice beach place with a long walkway next to the beach. A lot of restaurants and cafeterias can be find. Lot of local people at the beach which makes it feel more local than touristic. The beach has different „water areas“. Calm and almost no waves at the very top, waves and rocks in the middle. All in all very good for us (family with 2y old kid).

Playa de Las Canteras in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is an enchanting destination that captivates both locals and tourists alike. With its expansive golden sandy beach, turquoise waters, and vibrant promenade, this beach destination has much to offer.
The beach itself is clean and well-maintained, perfect for sunbathing and relaxation. The gentle waves also make it ideal for swimmers and water sports enthusiasts. The iconic rock formation known as "La Barra" adds a picturesque element to the view and is an excellent spot for snorkeling.
Along the promenade, you'll find numerous restaurants, bars, and shops, allowing you to savor delicious local cuisine and shop for souvenirs. In the evenings, the promenade comes alive with street performers and music, creating a lively atmosphere.
It's worth noting that the beach can get quite crowded on weekends, so visiting on weekdays might be a good idea for a quieter experience.

Very diverse and enjoyable beach! Plenty of sand :) ranging from normal gold towards Isleta to almost black near the surfing center. Weather is always warmer during the low tide in the first half of the day, rocks in the ocean are visible and all the rainbow fishes are out and easy to watch - they come close to the bay. You can even feed them-great fun for kids. Also this is a good time for snorkeling as waves are low.
In the second part of the day there's high tide and waves are huge, mixed with sand. The ocean takes back quickly most of the beach.

The Bandama Caldera is a circular volcanic crater that spans 1,000 meters in diameter. It features a pathway leading to the floor and a viewing point on the rim. Though not an easy trek, hiking along the caldera's ridge offers magnificent views of Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura on clear days. The flora is also stunning and visitors may even encounter lizards basking in the sun.
This 3 km walk around the caldera rim is stupendous. It helps if you go with a knowledgeable guide, for they can explain its formation and identify the indigenous flora and fauna. I saw Canary Kestrels and an eagle soar overhead and an abundance of plants below. The walk is really steep in parts and I made use of the walking poles which the guide provided. Our guide also brought water and energy boosters for those who suffered the heat and were not used to steep gradients.

Be sure to add this location to a list when planning a sightseeing of island's mountains. It's not a caldera, it is explosion site, which makes it even more exciting to see and photos does not convey the massiveness of the place.

It's a relatively short hike around the crater. You could extend the walk by going all down in the crater, which is 200 meters down and back up. So bring enough water, a cap and sunscreen!

Great walk..Not easy all the way around but absolut well worth the effort. You get some great view point for taking pictures or just enjoy the view. And looking into the volcano crater is just fascinating. Don´t worry it´s about 2000 years ago since it last erupted.

The trail along the ridge of the caldera is a great place to hike, especially on a clear day when you can see most of the eastern part of gran Canaria, and maybe even Fuerteventura. Beautiful flora and if you are lucky, quite a number of lizards enjoying the sun.
Joseph Wladkowski — Google review
It is easy to get down and really tough to get all the way back up again. It starts off with a pathway but quickly it disappears. Be careful when it's raining as it can be slippery.
As there is an old wine vineyard/distillery there it makes me think how they managed to get all the wine up haha. They do have a information board explaining the house there but not that part.
There are so many pretty flowers, green trees and other interesting plants. If you can I'd recommend a trip down to see everything there. Do explore most of it!
Unfortunately there are so many people carving names into the great tree there, such a shame to see.

The park is situated in the north of the city, surrounded by cafes and bars, with palm trees lining its walkways. My favorite place to go and lay down a picnic blanket to read a book!
Lovely ambiance, so many varieties of flowers, lots of cool corners, a true gem in the middle of the busy Las Palmas environment.
It’s nothing grand like Central Park or Jardin du Luxembourg, of course - it’s a small island after all. However, it’s really an oasis that inspires and relaxes.
Something about this place really allows me to slow down, ground myself in the moment, and truly appreciate the surrounding scenery.
Would recommend at least a quick stop to enjoy the flowers and greenery!

Santa Catalina is a very nice park. I can recommend going there. It's kinda small but there's lots of things you can do. There's the Muelles shopping centre right next to it. You can take a red "sightseeing tour" bus, 25€ but it's really worth it. It's an hop on/off tour and was a lot of fun. There's some cafes and shops near which is also very nice. There's the museum of science. There's the aquarium. A very nice park, also good for taking pictures if you are interested in that.
Theres a bis station, where you can take a bus to the other side of town. Also there's a playground for kids nearby. Very animal friendly park.

Hangar 37 is a large, military-themed airsoft field with gameplay modes for kids and experts. The shooting gallery is especially fun for smaller children. It's an excellent place to have some intense airsoft action, and there's no age limit to enter.
Very entertaining amd unique place on the island. It is easy to access, next to the highway. Great fun, even for youngsters, since the protection equipment is provided there. Reasons to love this place:
-Passionate staff
-Aabsolutely AWESOME fields
-Great facilities (Cantina, gear up zone, store)
-Places to sit in some shade, with view of the field
-Tower (where pic was taken) where you get good overview of the field and game
-Store has decent prices for gear
-Great prices for rental
Reasons not to like this place:
-If you don't like fun, go on
Cantina is as expected more expensive than cheapest stores, but sell water big bottle, soda cans and some food.
All in all very close to the ideal institution

So much fun!! 20€ for a number of balls that i dont remember but lasted all afternoon (4~730pm). The uniforms were clean and big sized (too big for me). Guns a bit heavy for kids or small sized people, but not horrible. If your party isn't big, there are usually other players around you can play together (against each other or mixed up).
Service was nice, installations new and clean, lots of toilets and also 2 showers (per gender, id assume). There is plenty of parking and a karting right next door.
The battlefield is really nice, tons of hideouts including huts, tunnels, holes...
Only negative is that it's hard to play with the mask (which is there for security reasons) because you can't really wear glasses underneath and also they get blurry after some time).

Very fun!! It's nice they have good showers. Because when you get into the game, it gets hottt haha.
Lynn Kuijpers — Google review
Real fun place to go, even for beginners since you can rent whole outfit. For 30 euro you get +300 balls which is plenty of games. Each game lasts 10 minutes and there's different game modes like capture the flag as well. There's changing room, little bar with refreshments and you can also bring your own ASG weapons. Arena is detailed with many buildings, pipes hiding spots and provides some tactical capability for players. Worth noting to bring some drinks since running in camo in full sun drains you real quick. Definitely worth checking out both for newbies to airsoft as well as veterans

Cocodrilo Park Gran Canaria is an exotic animal rescue center located in Aguimes on the Grand Canary Island. The park features a diverse range of species, with opportunities to witness live crocodile, bird, and monkey feedings. Additionally, visitors can enjoy zoo exhibits and interact with the animals. This educational yet entertaining experience is available in Spanish, English, and German languages.
Amazing place! You can see how the employees truly care about the animals there. Important to know is that this isn't a regular animal park, but a sanctuary for rescued animals.
You do get information about all of them and I do think especially if you're with kids, it's a great place to visit. The entrance fee is fair and considering that you help the animals, it's a reason more to visit.
The toilets are nice and clean. There's a little restaurant inside, with simple, but good meals.

Fantastic experience!
This isn't just a normal park, this is a rescue park.
All the animals looked well cared for and happy.
Interactive talks given throughout the day from the staff. I highly recommend you attend the talks because they are very informative.
Highly recommend visiting the rescue park. We really enjoyed it.
The entrance price into the park is very affordable and you can spend a full day there if you take your time.
There's a restaurant, although we didn't try it.
We did try the snack bar though and got some lovely smoothies, which were priced well.

I'm super happy with this park! The fact that there are rescue animals there is amazing. It's not expensive at all, and the quality of the place is much higher than I expected.
Dora Varga (Elyon) — Google review
I was not too sure what to expect here but this is a brilliant little place providing security and a nurturing environment to rescue and seized crocodiles, tigers, reptiles and more. The staff are knowledgable and very friendly. You can even walk through the bird enclosure at certain times. A highlight was feeding time for the crocs! If anything it would be nice to read a little more information about where the animals came from but overall a reasonably priced and well worth trip out to see.
Tom Ellinson — Google review
It’s a rescue centre with a big variety of animals not only crocodiles.
We’ve seen snakes, monkeys, lemurs, parrots, ducks, chickens, lamas, deers, tortoises, iguana and more.
Very nice place to spend some time with kids if you have any.
In the park it’s a little bit windy but the weather was still very nice.
The bar on the park had some good choices and I drank a very nice and refreshing berry kiss smoothie, it was 10/10.
On the last part of the park you can buy food to feed the animals and interact with them.
The only thing we didn’t like was the fact that we didn’t see the tiger, the cage was empty. And on the get your guide reviews it showed pictures of people interacting with baby crocodiles and that didn’t happen also but maybe because we went on a Sunday, besides that it’s a very nice park.
Raquel Moiane — Google review
Simply awesome! Not a zoo in the traditional way, but a rescue center where animals with a history of mistreatment are given a second chance. It is clear that they care very well for the animals there, so it was great to see so many animals enjoy life!
My wife and I had a great time, so it's definitely recommended, if you love animals too!
Kasper Hansen — Google review
Nice little park. Worth a visit, you can spend 2-3 hours here.
Some animals were difficult so see though and parts of the park had little shade so it was extremely hot. Also the maintenance can be improved as it didn’t all look too clean and for example the “birds walkthrough” was closed, which was a shame.

Fantastic place to go staff wonderful and very caring they really care about the animals and you can see it. For a place that is a rescue and relies on people coming to keep going, it's really clean and tidy. The shop/restaurant is a bit expensive but clean and a nice little place for kids to play while you eat. We would 1000% recommend taking your kids to this place 👌 👍.

Not a bad zoo. Quite small, but expected for the price. Mainly focused on crocodiles and other reptiles as the name suggests. There are a few different shows - mostly feedings. The bird one has you sitting with the birds which is really fun experience. There is a small cafe that has food for a reasonable price. Definitely worth a visit.

I thought this was a wonderful place . Went to all the animal feedings which were informative and in Spanish , English and German . Was very out of the way but well worth the money to take a taxi . Thoroughly enjoyed my day and somewhat made my trip to the island even better than it was .

Interesting place with many animals, who were rescued or seized by authorities. Very informative for kids and adults as well. There were many opportunities to get closer to the animals while they were fed and the staff told stories about them in Spanish, German and English

I love this place so much. I went here with my family while on a trip to Gran Canaria.
The had a variety of animals, and they all seemed healthy. I also met one of the cutest birds I have ever met, I decided to name it Pico.
Not only that, but the food was surprisingly good and the bathrooms were really clean. I highly recommended this place!

Great place to visit, there was a lot more to see than I anticipated and the wildlife was great to see. There was also a bird show where they were able to walk and fly all around you, was an amazing experience

Had an amazing experience here. This rescue park has a wide variety of rescue animals. From different reptiles to deer, crocodiles and even chimpanzees. I love the way how the zoo keepers are very interactive and actively let you know if a feeding time was going on. They are very enthusiastic too and draw you in and very educational. It's rare you get to have so many close encounters with so many animals. Would definitely reccomend. There is a main car park if you drive past the park on your left if the the park entrance is on the left.

We loved the park it was one of our highlights at GC. (we are a couple without children)
I like the idea that the animals are rescued and are treated nicely. The price is also quite good to get in.
The staff is mega nice and they always informed us when there was a show (feeding crocodiles / birds etc) going on. They also do dangerous shows like feeding crocodiles directly etc. And they bring some reptiles around to show them to the visitors. It was very informative and entertaining. Definitely a place to go.

Fabulous zoo with lots to see and wonderful shows. It's on the small side for a zoo but really fills the space. There's very little walking between enclosures. The pathways are a little narrow but fine. Lots of coverage from the sun.
There's a small restaurant with a limited range of snack foods but it's perfect for the size of this place. Plenty seating available.
The staff are wonderful. Informative, helpful and friendly.

Wonderful place. Quite busy even at the start of working hours, but all visitors fill the area and it is not too crowded inside. Recommendations to wait for the show of birds, who can freely walk between spectators. Best atraction for kids !

Cocodrilo Park is a great place to visit for animal lovers and those looking for a different kind of experience.
The park is home to many species of animals, including crocodiles, snakes, birds, and turtles. There are also feeding shows and animal interactions, making it a great place to learn about these animals.
The staff at Cocodrilo Park are very knowledgeable and friendly. They are always happy to answer any questions you may have and will help you to make the most of your visit.
If you are looking for a fun and educational day out, I highly recommend visiting Cocodrilo Park. You won't be disappointed!

This is an amazing rescue centre which clearly takes very good care of their animals. They’ve all come from traumatic backgrounds so it’s great to see them looking so confident and relaxed in their new home. I would’ve liked to see some more vegan/non-meat options in the restaurant/cafe - it’s a bit ironic serving meat here. This location is also only accessible really by taxi/car, but 1000% worth the trip!

Plaza de Santa Ana is a charming square situated in the historical Vegueta district of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Notably, it features a stunning cathedral, the Santa Ana Cathedral, and two iconic bronze dog sculptures at its entrance. Other notable buildings in the vicinity are the 17th-century Palacio Regental and remnants of the Bishops palace that was devastated by fire. The Museo Diocesano de Arte Sacro also houses an impressive collection of religious art.
It is a lovely square next to the cathedral of Santa Ana in Las Palmas which is surrounded by impressive old buildings . I would recommend visiting the cathedral ,it costs 2€ and you can get on the top and get access to a stunning view of the Plaza de Santa Ana and the city.I'm sure that the elegant architecture and the irresistible energy will make your visit unforgettable.
Moreover, there are some nice terrace bars, where you can sit down for anything ranging a glass of wine to a tapa.

Very nice peaceful clean plaza to hang out in the lovely under-rated Old Town of Las Palmas. Visited during a weekday in early May and very quiet. It was a cloudy day otherwise photos would have been really nice. We visited the cathedral and museum afterwards which is definitely worth the 3 euros.

I hope that this place lives forever in my memories because it is wonderful. Very charming whether day or night. My favorite moment in this plaza was the warm night before we left the island, stomach full of tapas and Spanish beer, cool wind, flowers in bloom, moon light shining down, and people all around quietly conversing or playing toss with their dogs. Go make some island memories at Plaza de Santa Ana!

You can see 8 green metal dogs. They represent the history of the name of Canaries islands. It wasn't from birds that the Canary Islands, known in Spanish as Islas Canarias, got their name, but dogs, or perhaps seals depending on what you believe. The name comes from the Latin word for dog, canaria, and was given by the first Europeans to arrive here

I'll never travel to Morro del Jable without this trip planner again
The Catedral Metropolitana de Santa Ana de Canarias is a gothic-style cathedral situated on a picturesque plaza in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and is renowned for its significant religious artworks. It took around 500 years to complete and features palm tree-like gothic piers inside. The cathedral's location allows for incredible views of the surrounding area including the Casa de Colon and Plaza de Santa Ana. Visitors can also climb the tower for an impressive panoramic view of the city.
Beautiful cathedral. For a few Euro you can get tot the top of the tower and enjoy a great view of Las Palmas, which is a great city with lovely people.

For the cost of €3, this is a worthwhile place to visit if you are looking for a cultural experience. Besides the amazing cathedral which I'll get into in a minute, it is a historical religious museum. It is, as you might expect after the Spaniards came to the island. There is not that much text around there to read about each piece so bring your phone as they have an online audio tour. It has a beautiful garden and it is easy to navigate through the area. I can't remember seeing any elevators for the tour itself so not sure how accessible for wheelchair users. It is spread on two floors with arts, collections, books and historical facts (via audio tour).
The cathedral is large and stunning on the inside and outside. For an extra €2 you can go all the way up to get a 360° view of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, but you have to go around. We came from the backside we had no idea how large it would be inside!
The dogs you see outside are actually Canarian dogs which is where the island got its name from.
Nicholai Martin — Google review
Beautiful cathedral in lovely old town area. Stunning given Las Palmas isn’t a huge city. Really pleasant surprise.
Loved mixed styles of architecture and looked like older stain glass windows were being replaced with some that really suit the church’s style.
Well worth €3 euros to visit the cathedral and museum. You get a combined ticket for both and can’t see the cathedral on its own. However the museum is small and worth a around as it’s well set out and there is a lovely courtyard with seating if you want some peace in a lovely environment.
For €1.50 you can also go up the tower - great views of the city. You can climb the stairs or there is also an elevator.
There are also toilets just off the courtyard.
Sue Vogt-Skard — Google review
6 euros to get in, the church is quite sparse but the rooftop view and the museum gardens are beautiful. The lift stops at the rooftop, but don't miss the staircase around the back of the elevator that goes to the top. You'll get good views from the roof but great views from the top. The museum contains a lot of artefacts and a good history of the crucifix as a symbol, and the garden is a good place to sit and relax for a moment.
Stuart Saint — Google review

Wonderful place. Must see inside. It cost around 6 euro to get there, but you can visit the church, museum on the second floor and go on the roof with an amazing city view. Be careful - the roof is included on the ticket cost, but requires different entrance, ask about it the lady at the first entrance otherwise you have a chance to miss it.

The Cathedral of Santa Ana, located in the heart of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, is a divine masterpiece that left me in awe. This architectural gem is a testament to the rich history and the artistic brilliance of the Canary Islands.
Upon approaching the cathedral, you are immediately struck by the grandeur of its facade. The intricate stonework and the towering spires make it a sight to behold, and it sets the tone for the grandeur you’ll find inside.
Stepping through its doors, I was greeted by an interior that exudes tranquility and spirituality. The awe-inspiring Gothic architecture, soaring ceilings, and majestic stained glass windows create a serene atmosphere that invites reflection and reverence.
One of the highlights for me was the beautifully adorned altarpiece, a true work of art that depicts religious scenes in exquisite detail. The cathedral’s chapels are also filled with historical and religious treasures, making it a place where art, history, and faith converge.
The cathedral’s role as a spiritual and cultural center is evident in its vibrant events and musical performances. I was fortunate enough to attend a concert here, and the acoustics and the ambiance were truly magical.
In conclusion, the Cathedral of Santa Ana is a must-visit for anyone in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It’s a place where the sacred and the artistic unite, and it’s impossible not to be captivated by its beauty and historical significance. Whether you’re a religious pilgrim or an art enthusiast, this cathedral has something truly special to offer.

The Casa de Colón, located in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, is an extravagant former governor's residence that was visited by Christopher Columbus during his voyages. This prominent museum showcases a collection of artwork and ceramics from various historical periods. The museum's grand Gothic-style exterior and impressive architecture are complemented by its extensive displays of memorabilia related to Columbus and his numerous expeditions. Additionally, the district surrounding the Casa de Colón offers architectural highlights such as elaborately carved wooden balconies.
As much as I don't like or respect the character of colonialist Christopher Columbus, I must say this museum is one of the finest in the city. I was reluctant to paying a visit, but I don't regret having done it. Throughout its two floors + the crypt, the museum holds some very interesting exhibitions, and all very varied; from detailed descriptions of Columbus' trips to the American continent, to exquisite paintings, miniatures, info about the social and historical origins of the island of Gran Canaria and pre-columbian art. Definitely a must when visiting the island. There's audioguides in different languages and even two parrots roaming about freely!

Nice museum, lovely Spanish courtyard, very interesting maps. I was very disappointed about the personnel. I was wearing the mask as required but the assistant ( his behaviour was very close to franquista (fascist policeman), he was very obsessed and very concentrated to control people into the museum. I know the Spanish people apparently is friendly but in reality is very closed and aggressive. I was scared and decided to exit.

The museum was before the former Governor’s house, it has a very interesting architecture, large patio and carved wooden ceilings. It is claimed that Christopher Columbus stayed there in 1492. Although the museum has several sections with artifacts, paintings and maps, I was expecting to find out more chronological information about the history of Canary Islands and its indigenous inhabitants.

An interesting museum, but I am very disappointed that not a single picture that hung on the wall is in English. Not to mention that there were 2,3 girls standing next to the ticket office, obviously for money, and ask God how much they go and explain about the museum BUT no one instructed us in anything, everyone was totally uninterested in me and my boyfriend for our visit to the museum that I was very sorry to give 8 € for entrance.

Wonderful building and an impressive collection of art. I have 4 stars instead of the full 5 as I struggled to find any representation from women artists. We visited for free on a Sunday. Lots of interesting artworks, mostly from Spain/Canary Islands. A few original pieces by Rembrandt and other Dutch artists.
The house has two levels above ground and one underground (with mostly South American cultures pieces). Different levels only accessible by stairs. Wonderful many centuries old quilt between first and second floor.
Amenities: toilets in okay condition, lots of benches to rest on. Most info on Columbus’ is only in Spanish, artworks in Spanish and English.
Bonus: Two friendly macaws in one of the inner courtyards and a nice little gift shop.

What a fantastic clean, spacious shopping centre, I was staying in the hotel down the road and this shopping centre was very ideal for pretty much everything you need whilst staying, every kind of shop.
Everything in my opinion was high standards and immaculate throughout, even the security looked very well presented and smart, I won a €5 on a scratch card which was great, I even tried out the massage chair located near the middle entrance great value for money and to say it actually was fun to try.

The Punta Jandia Lighthouse, erected in 1864, is an active lighthouse situated at the end of a dirt road leading from Morro Jable. The museum in the lighthouse showcases marine life exhibits and offers a viewing deck for visitors to enjoy stunning views of the Atlantic waves below. In addition, there is a small information centre that provides details on the flora, fauna and geology of Parque Natural de Jandia.
Beautiful point. Away from everything. On low tide there are nice pools in the rocks for swimming. The lighthouse is very nice. A great place to chill out and watch the waves.

Not much to see near the lighthouse itself, some nice cliffs and open area around though. The road to the lighthouse is quite rough, unpaved and bumpy, but passable for any type of car. Best part is wild donkeys and goats that you can see on the way, they ask for food and behave well

The cafe and museum were closed when we arrived but that didn't ruin it for us. We wandered around and enjoyed the waves smash against the rocks and take in the sun. The road is rough in some parts so take your time, no doubt you'll be in a rental. Just use your head driving - slow and steady will win the race. Apparently the cafe is closed a lot so bring bottled water at least.

Lighthouse at the southern end of Fuerteventura. Although the last part (19km) of the access road from Morro Jable is an unpaved one, it is motorable with a normal car. Scenic landscape along the way with a few diversions possible to different view points.
The lighthouse itself is imposing and is functional

Wonderful. This is a lighthouse on the tip of the island in the national park where opposing waves meet, creating some spectacular sights. We've been here before on a tour which only allowed about 15 minutes. As we had hired a car from Avis, which I highly recommend, we spent about 45 minutes watching and listening to the waves, beautiful.

Great vistas. You feel like you are on the tip of the world. Definitely worth a visit, especially in the evening. The drive towards it is a bit winding though. So, drive carefully.

One of the most windy and beautiful spots in FUE.
You can feel the strong force of nature right here. There is also a Museum in the adjacent building. Free entry!
Thomas Roemhild — Google review
Nice view, but not much to do. You are not allowed to go to the top of the lighthouse (probably safety reasons). But you can enter the ground floor, where there was an island exhibition (when I visited the place).
By the lighthouse is a small building, which resembles a bar / shop. But it was empty, at the time of my visit.
I would recommend visiting, only if you are visiting something else nearby. The road to the lighthouse is bumpy one.

Watched the sunset at this lighthouse. Breathtaking view and idyllic atmosphere. Before you go: It's a long distance before reaching the lighthouse. You have to use a wild road which isn't bituminized. Tire damage or getting stuck is possible along the way. Would not recommend going there without a proper car.

Nice place to be.... Tiny helpful museum....
But no cafeteria... Drinks.... Bad for all visitors.... For the situation only 1 star.... No toilet es well👇

Great view but not much to do. Given the difficult access because of the hour of driving over curvy and bumpy dirt roads, it’s questionable wether this is worth the effort.

Amazing landscape with a beautiful sea. Small village with very nice people.
Bela A — Google review
Be aware, the journey is around 30 mins over unmade roads, the place wasn't open and there were no toilets available (so everyone had to make do). The road was not bad, but after jiggling around for 30 mins, you needed to go to the toilet.
However, the area was great and worth the trip. It's just a shame that the lighthouse was open.

Stunning place! Excellent panoramic images over the island and the ocean! Great place to see the sunset. The rock formations and the ocean form a perfect landscape. A bit far form the main road but is worth the effort. A small village is near and has shop and restaurant. Easy access for disabled people.
Jandía, a narrow promontory located at the southwestern tip of Fuerteventura, boasts a protected area known as Jandia Natural Park. This ecologically diverse region has been designated as a Special Protection Area for Birds (ZEPA) due to its abundant avian species population. Furthermore, the island itself has received numerous accolades including being declared a Starlight Reserve by UNESCO in 2015, acknowledging its exceptional night sky quality.
You don't have to fly to Jamaica to have a beautiful beach like Caribbean dream. I've been coming here for years to relax and enjoy the sun, beach, beautiful sunrise and sunsets. Can recommend you warmest Jandia, Morro Jable and Corralejo for beautiful Holidays.

Wild, wild, wild!!!! But breathtakingly beautiful and dramatic coastline.
Playa de Cofete, located in the windward division of the peninsula, is widely regarded as one of the most desirable beaches in the Canary Islands. This remote and unspoiled stretch of sandy coastline offers sweeping vistas and crystal-clear waters. With a 12-kilometre-long shoreline that remains largely untouched, Playa de Cofete is truly a breathtaking destination worth visiting on Fuerteventura.
One of the most spectacular places on earth the beach is pretty much the whole west coast of Jandia. The beach isn't really for swimming as the Atlantic is crashing straight in but it's the untouched nature of the place due to the poor access. 3 main ways to get here first.is a 2 hour hike from Parking départ randonnée Cofete up over the mountains. Not very difficult tbh. Second is the drive the road which is twisty windy and unpaved. The third is the bus. The bus is a small offroad vehicle which takes about 12 pax

Amazing views, big waves in the ocean. Caution: difficult access via a winding gravel road. No showers on the beach. Definitely worth a visit

What a place to visit!!! Amazing... Just one thing to get there you need to drive on rocky and dirt road, SUV strongly advised, but getting there in normal car is not impossible ;) Have a look at the pictures and decide for your self :)

WOW! I will start with that to summarize. Everything about this wild beach is magnificent, probably one of the best in the world. 1st of all 14 kilometres of country roads circling the volcanoes it's slow and a probably scarry for some but oh my ... The reward at the of the road is out of this world, the feeling you get being there makes you think about creation itself. Millions of years of violent activity, volcanoes, wind, ocean and they have sculpted this! Nature overwhelming right there. Of you are on the island you don't visit this beach you are missing on a rare occasion to feel alive and humble. My camera does not make any justice to the landscape. Big waves are crushing into the sand creating a fuzzy view along the coast. Words are not enough to describe it.

Wonderful beach , you are driving 1 hour from Moro Jable but it worth. Make a stop at the mirador and enjoy the view. If you are lucky and the waves are not so big you can swim in the ocean and enjoy the waves!

World class beach and scenery, absolutely breathtaking. the drive is via stoney road over the mountain. Great views. The sea has powerful waves and currents with no lifeguards

Playa de Cofete on Fuertaventura offers great views and a huge beach with nice water. However, there are no toilets available and the road to access the beach is terrible. Improvements could include adding facilities such as toilets and better road maintenance. Overall, I recommend visiting for the stunning scenery but be prepared for the lack of amenities.

Beautiful wild beach
The road is "complex" to get there if you haven't practiced mountain gravel paths ... but otherwise no challenge
Sand soft ... waves ... bug waves ... and soooooooo amazing at sunset

Beautiful, unique place.
Watch out for flat tires. A lot of insurances don´t cover damage to your rental car when you´re offroad!
A must see!!!

If you're seeking a true escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life, Playa de Cofete is the perfect destination. Located approximately 18 kilometers from Moro Jable, this secluded beach may require an hour's drive through the mountains on a rustic dirt road, but the journey is well worth it for the breathtaking views it offers.
The serenity and tranquility of Playa de Cofete makes it a hidden gem for those seeking a peaceful retreat. As you navigate the winding path through the mountains, the anticipation builds, and upon arrival, you're greeted by a picturesque coastline that stretches as far as the eye can see. The unspoiled beauty of this beach is simply awe-inspiring.
Driving along the dirt road, you'll find yourself surrounded by dumb tourists driving a hatchback as if it were a 4x4 but with magnificent views unfolding before you at every turn. It's an adventure just getting there to be honest.
Once you set foot on the soft sands of Cofete, you'll feel as if you've entered a different world. The beach is embraced by dramatic cliffs and rolling hills, creating a natural enclosure that fosters a sense of seclusion. The lack of crowds allows you to relish in the tranquility, where the only sounds you'll hear are the gentle lapping of waves and the soothing whispers of the wind.
While Playa de Cofete may be off the beaten path, its remote location is part of its charm. It's a place where you can disconnect from the outside world and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature. Remember to bring your own supplies, as amenities are limited, but the experience of this untouched paradise is more than worth the preparation.
If you're a traveler who appreciates breathtaking views, tranquility, and the allure of an off-the-grid adventure, Cofete beach is a destination that will capture your heart. Prepare for a scenic drive through the mountains, and be rewarded with a beach that feels like a private paradise, far removed from the stresses of everyday life.

Huge beach!
I drove with a SUV and thought it was really easy. You drive mostly in gear 1 and 2. Just don't drive to fast. If a local is behind you who drives faster just park in one of the many corners and let them through.
You can use any car. The only thing with a small car like the Fiat 500 which I saw a lot is that sometimes there are like hole where you have to drive slowly. Try to make sure that only one tire is in a big hole otherwise you can damage your bumper.
We went to Roque del Moro, Villa Winter and Cofete beach. I personally thought that Roque del More was more special than Cofete beach. It's much more deserted than Cofete beach. At least at the beginning of Cofete beach as it 14 km long.

Breathtaking view, one of best beaches that i have visited! Acess to the beach at part where is roque del moro is only for jeeps and cars with big wheels, we got stuck on the road and we were driving a volkswagen t-rock which is not a small car. Definitely worth a visit, set aside at least half a day for this location

A spectacular wild, untouched beach, stretching many kilometers. Very windy! It's only accessible by dirt roads. There is a bus from Morro Jable two times a day, finding the right bus is super easy :)

The road there is not ideal, you will have to drive around 40 minutes on dirt road through hills, but it’s definitely worth it.
The beach is long and clean with no hotels / resorts around so you will be only encircled by the nature. Must visit in Fuerteventura.

A highlight of Fuerteventura
+ absolutely beautiful
+ lonely
+ public transport connection (bus)
~ this is a natural park. there is no proper infrastructure. Be prepared, if you go by car. Especially if you're driving a rental, since some damages and territories (natural park!) aren't covered. there is a bus.
~ beware of the ocean currents, it is dangerous and there is no safety personal.
- unfortunately, there is a lot of dirt, garbage and also signs of car break ins at the general parking space

Wow, amazing beach. It looks very natural. The view is breath taking. The beach is quite long. I would not recommend swiming, since the waves very quite strong when I was there.
But the road to the beach is amother story. There was no concrete, most of the time you have to avoid holes, rocks and other cars. I would suggest, the most skilled driver should take the driver's seat, also avoid the most busy visiting hours and pick the adequate vehicle for the job.

Cofete beach is southwest of Fuerteventura and can be safely defined as the largest and most beautiful beach in the Canary Islands. Its pristine beauty makes it a true pearl of the entire archipelago so much so that it is periodically used for settings in science fiction films … it is 2h 30’ drive from the north to reach this beauty - last 60’ drive are unpaved off-road where you can keep 30/50km per hour - enjoy your journey

A must-see in Fuerteventura! Totally! The road to the beach is quite off-road however we managed to get there in Toyota Corolla without any problems. There's also a stunning viewpoint on the way

An amazing endless beach betweenthe Atlantic and the mountains... I've only seen in Australia before. No Hotels, just natur so far your eye can see.
You shouldn't swim in the sea. It's very dangerous and not watched. Just enjoy and inhale this beach and have a long walk.
Villa Winter is a local history museum located on the island of Fuerteventura, Spain. It was constructed in 1937 by German engineer Gustav Winter and features an impressive design with a castle-like turret. Though there have been rumors linking Winter to the Nazi Party, no confirmation has been made. The structure serves as an iconic landmark and can be accessed by car or foot for visitors to enjoy its historical significance.
Very interesting place, full of history. Communication at the entrance could be improved, but then Pedro, the owner, will guide you through the museum and his research to shed light onto the villa's many misteries. Be sure to have some cash, for an offer to enter.

The visit was unscheduled on our behalf but was glad we went the museum was a bit of a hotchpotch but interesting the best part was the mini tour which was interesting and informative and listening to the guide explain what we were looking at and stories made it well worth going to go back again .

Incredible place where the Villa Winter is located. From one side steep high hills hardly accessible, from the other side ocean.
Beach front of the Villa is amazing, wide and kilometers long. Great place for trip over here.
History of Villa is interesting, bonded with Nazis, anyways the place is mostly ruine nowadays. Some "museum" inside but don't expect any great exhibition.
Also places underground as "dangeon" are not accessible.

It was not available to enter the premises, although it was official open hours. There was a sign to prohibit entering.
Very disappointing and overall creepy vibes out there.
The view ist beautiful though.

For a tip you can enter the courtyard and two rooms with memorabilia. Although it is recommended to do a tour. After asking, we heard that there are tours at 3PM - no idea if this is every day. It is recommended though, as the rooms you are allowed in are quite daunting without a guide while the history of the house and story that there is today is really interesting. We didn't find much information before we got there so it is recommended to check out their Facebook profile before going.

This should be part of an adventure not the adventure. 1hr slow drive along a rough gravel roads that snake around a truly spectacular coastline. An adventure in itself.
1st stop was the villa. Looked closed but we walked around the perimeter and was met by Pedro. He gave us a private tour explaining how the villa was used by the German Officers as a base for an underground a submarine complex (during WW2) under the villa, which was a bit of an eye opener, backed up by Pedro stamping in the garden on what seemed like a trap door leading to the subterranean dock. This wetted the appetite for the museum room full of Nazi memorabilia. not what I was expecting. The Nazi uniforms looked fake. We then got lead down into the basement which wasn’t really a basement as it was full of windows that looked out over the countryside but boarded up to make it look dark and mysterious. Then we saw an an experiment laboratory ,an oven that burned bodies, and torture cells. All of which happened during WW2 but you need to ask yourself did it happen here ? I would recommend going and making your own mind up.
2nd stop was the beech, great waves to dive into but beware currents. Waves, mountains and golden beaches as far as the eye can see made for stunning scenery.
3rd stop was the grave yard. Beautiful wooden doors to a very unusual grave yard. A nice place to be laid to rest.
In conclusion I would not recommend driving 50 minutes just for the winter house but by visiting the other landmarks and enjoying the scenery, the winter house can be part of a great day.

Wow what a place, can't describe how this place make you feel. So much history has gone on here and you need to see the place to understand it. Cash only on the door as a donation, it's not government funded so give generously as we felt it was worth every penny. Note the hours for lunch, this is on there website. There is also a public bus service and the lighthouse is also worth a visit on the way home.

Reading lots of bad comments from people who did not even bother to do some research. The house belonged to Gustav Winter, German and, depending on the source, related to the German NS.
Nowadays the house is kept by Pedro, grandson of one of the people in charge of the house in the 50s/60s. He wants to show the world what really happened there.
Some sources says that was an agricultural land, and the house was only a kind of farm. Other says it belonged to the NS, due to Francisco Franco gave Fuerteventura to the German leaders as part of the payment for all the guns, tanks, planes, etc given during Spanish civil War.
In my opinion, after visiting the basement and under it, that can never be a "farm"... 1m 20 cms wide concrete walls. Windows to allow the light come in but nobody to see inside. Ceilings metal reinforced like in any WW2 bunker. Arched hallways... What some people calls the kitchen, it is exactly to Auschwitz autopsy room, with one oven but space for another and two chimneys exits. And the most scariest thing, under the "kitchen" 7 or 8 cells with its bunks, a small room with a little door which Pedro says they kept childs there, and a torture room.
100% worth the visit, and remember is kept by a person with no resources, trying to show the world what his grandfather told him and many locals speak about.

It's a real pity this isn't open. I'm sure people would pay a small fee to look inside. On another note, there are some derelict buildings a short walk down the track towards the beach, we went investigating to see what they were and found that a dog had been locked in there with little to no water and a moldy bread roll, very sad.

Morro Jable, located on the southern coast of Fuerteventura in Spain's Canary Islands, is renowned for its stunning beaches. One notable beach is Playa del Matorral, which features the Morro Jable Lighthouse and a fascinating sperm whale skeleton. Another highlight is the Morro Jable Wharf, where the Turtle Nursery provides a safe haven for loggerhead turtles before their release into the wild.

Conclusion: Great pharmacy, they really help you here. If only it were like this more often when it comes to medicine.
